The beach was clean to an extent however some places specially in rocks you can see some littering. Though the view was great specially the early morning view during sun rise, a place must visit to relax as you listen to the sounds of waves crashing and spend some quality time with your loved ones. As no vehicles are allowed near sea shore it's very peaceful.

This is walking zone and Car parking is available near the rock beach (almost like an extension of the promenade beach). Eateries and restaurants are around and you can enjoy lunch and dinner viewing sea. Definately not advisable for swimming.

The promenade walk is morethan one km stretch from war memorial to duplex park. You can enjoy sunset or sunrise by munching some snacks available Beachfront with loved ones. Any Vehicles movement is prohibited in this area so one must park their vehicle on the parallel road. This beach is very calm and clean which gives you nostalgic feel. Unlike other beaches it's not much safe to get into water ( to swim). There are many rocks on the beach so be careful if you are going near water just to play. Beach road gives you brisk view of the sea on one side and lot of culinary food joints on the other side. You cannot get into the beach here while can have a walk on the sea bridge. On one side of this Beach, there is Sankaraparani River and on the other side Bay of Bengal, so this place is a visual treat especially in the evenings after 4PM. There are many activities available here for both kids and adults. Camel Ride they take till 500 metres to and fro and charge about 236 per person, which is probably little high! One good point to highlight is they clean the trash on the shore regularly so that it does not get into the sea and at the same time gives a very good, private beach feeling to the visitors. 👍 Although shores are maintained clean, path leading to sea from boating point is very dirty and not at all maintained clean and that’s the only reason for four stars.

If you wanna kill time or plan picnicking on an island like place, this will be a great choice. There will be 10-15 mins of boating to reach the place (it costs some bucks,a little pricey), and after it, you will be allowed until eve to try different activities, bathe, and enjoy riding. Return boats are available every 15 minutes, we came by the last boat. Seafood is affordable and tasty here: they also have a restaurant inside. The beach is clean, and individual huts were there to chill. Try avoiding weekends, huge crowd can be there.

It's a good place to be and really enjoyed the evening there. There's a ticket amount of Rs: 70/80 per head. It's a blue flaged beach, Which means we can play in water but for your safety no swimming. Showering is available there after the sea bath Pub, four-wheel safari, playground are available here and there within their premises.

You can either go directly or come to the Paradise boat house and take a motor boat to visit the paradise island. Motor boat price is 350 per head. Parking and entry charges are very nominal. Island is beautiful with some beautiful shaks everywhere. You can enjoy the beach having some yummy food and drinks. Price of food and drinks are kittle costly but its worth it with such an amazing view. For eg one small plate of noodles will cost you 180/- or sabdwich around 150/-, Watermelon juice 80/- n so on. Perfect amalgamation of divinity and serenity, went there on a Tuesday evening thinking there would be rush, however the queue was minimal. Got darshan in just 5 mins. Lots of variations of Ganapati Bappa. The architecture is also unique and nice. Must visit if you are in Puducherry.

Very piece full temple and the darshan was very blissful and spent there more than an hour and the elephant out of this temple is very cute and so active. Bit the shop near the temple selling things for 10times on its cost. Don't but idols here if you need to buy any idols just prefer?Mahabalipuram, there you can buy in a reasonable price. It's such a beautiful and devotional place of worship. I felt divine upon visiting this wonderful temple. It was almost a moving(emotional) experience. For a North Indian person, this temple is one of its kind devotional experience. The temple is really very BEAUTIFUL. One feels a lot of calm upon entering inside the temple. Various idols and sculptures of Lord Ganesh and several other Gods is present there. One feels really positive and refreshed after visiting the temple.

It's very huge Lord Ganesha Mandir. The entire premises are very neat and clean. You will definitely get mental peace here inside the premises. My experience is that I was forced to come out of the premises cause we were getting late.

The temple is more than 500 years old and dedicated to Ganesha. You can give Pooja for 280 rs. We went early in the morning, so it was not crowded at all. Made in Dravidian architecture style, it's colorful and even has a set of beautiful frescoes in the ceiling near the entrance

A small, clean and my favourite temple in Pondicherry. This place is always special because of the way they maintain it clean, align crowd decently. You must go here in morning times to feel the energy. There are flower shops outside, you may buy some or ignore - no one pressure us like other temples. Parking is difficult, you have to park in other streets.

The heart rate automatically just calms down and your heart is full. It was crowded but no one pushed or hurried you to do the Darshan. The pandits were so nice and happy. Unfortunately Laxmi, the elephant had passed away and I couldn’t get her Darshan but still this place is just not to be missed during your pondi trip.

It is centrally located about 50 meters from famous Aurobindo Ashram. The carvings on walls are very beautiful. Just outside temple there is elephant Laxmi which gives blessings on head if you feed her or give her a 10 rupee note. It is a major attraction with all visitors irrespective of age. The Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple in Puducherry is a really old and famous spot where people come to feel close to Lord Ganesha. It's known for its spiritual vibes and rich history. One of the oldest churches in town , constructed in the year 1907. This is located near the railway station. This church should be in places to visit list when you are in Pondicherry. You will architectural design and glass works showing the life events of lord Jesus Christ. Highly recommended place to visit in Pondicherry.

There was a mass prayer going on when we visited this church. The church is beautiful and the echo of the hymns were soothing to the ears. I enjoyed my visit here

My eyes and my heart will be there forever.". Inside the church there are glass pictures of 28 saints who were related to the devotion of Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Beautiful place. A little different architecture than other cathedrals. While you can visit the place anytime during the day, it's quite lively during the mass time. Premises has quite some space and you will find things peaceful in there. As you come out of the premises, on turning to left side there are a couple of good tea shops and a little bakery which is worth exploring if you want a quick snack

The Sacred Heart Basilica is a beautiful Gothic-style Catholic church located in Puducherry, India. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city, and for good reason. The church is simply stunning, with stained-glass windows, a vaulted ceiling, and a peaceful setting. I was particularly impressed by the stained-glass windows, which depict scenes from the Bible. The colors are so vibrant and the detail is incredible. I spent a good long time just looking at them and trying to take it all in. The church is also very peaceful. Even though it was a bit crowded when I visited, it was still a very calming place to be. I would definitely recommend taking some time to sit and reflect in the quiet of the church. If you're ever in Puducherry, I highly recommend visiting the Sacred Heart Basilica. It's a truly beautiful and inspiring place

It's in walkable distance from Pondicherry railway station. Serene atmosphere. Very beautiful architecture.The colorful reflection on the wall by the morning sunlight through the colorful window-glasses was really heavenly to watch. There's also public toilet available with a charge of 10rs per person.

The 2BHK Beach House is located in the White Town Area and is just a few foot to the Sunrise point in the Rock Beach and all the happening places in and around. The property has two AC rooms both attached with washrooms, a hall and balcony.

A must visit place and the best time to visit is on a cloudy day or at 4.p.m. The tickets for car parking and entry into the boathouse should be bought at the counter near the car parking. The tickets for boat ride can be bought inside. The breezy boat ride to the Paradise Island takes 15 minutes. The last boat to the island is at 4.0p.m. and the last boat from the island is at 5.30 p.m. If you are going to the island in the morning most shops in the island won't be open.

You get to sail in ferryboats over the backwaters and get down at the paradise beach. They charge approximately 350/ head for this ride. You can play on the beach and take up some beach activities as well. There will be frequent rides to the beach till about 5 in the evening and you can board any of them to make it back to the starting point of the ride.

You can spend 20 mints approx on back water derived from paradise beach. The boat experience looks fine. The ticket charges are around 350/- for Adults + Entry charges 10/- and Car parking 30/-. To bring out side food we need to pay Rs 40/- for each adult. All together 400/- adult and 200/- for Children's. Paradise beach is maintained well. The sand is clean. Approx 2 hours to 3 hours will spend in beach. Must visit place for tourist. This is my personal experience....

Worth the time spending at chunnambar and at paradise beach island. Activities are not so recommended as it’s very sub standard and definitely avoid the rain shower as people Make it very dirty. Enjoy the cool sea breeze and play with waves for children moderate horse ride can be done pay the price only for the poor horse which makes rounds and rounds effortlessly.

The boating experience is great. I got to see a lot of jellyfish and some dead one on the shore. Avoid sunny hours of the day. It's pretty hot. There are various activities on the beach. There are few shade areas to sit and chill.

For a spot where most of the rush is, I thought the people at the counter who gives the tickets will be quite unfriendly, moody ad they have to handle a lot of people, but to my surprise they were really polite and they waited if you want to lay via gpay/paytm and they were smiling and greeting us with proper gesture. Place- We had to take an entrance fee of Rs 10 per person and we had to enter. They had some restaurant /bar at the entrance, some snack shops inside and a ice cream shop as well for the kids. But the queue was not maintained well to get to the boat.. They had a rope and people were standing in 5 queues inside them eventually leading to one queue near the boat. So everyone had to squeeze and many of them had themselves split by the push and had to wait. That's the only flaw and it took a longer time then usual as some of them pushed and went infront of the people waiting for a long time. Prices- Long drive: They had a normal price where its called a long ride, where they take you for a ride and bring you back and it costs around 250 Long drive plus beach: They also had anither where it was 354, where they take you for the ride, but also drop you at the beach and you can return in any boat until a certain amount of time. That's what we chose and they were all polite and ride itself was quite nice. Speed boat: Another was speed boat.. We were not able to go in that as we had someone who was wearing a dress not suitable for that. It costs 2500 for 2 people and I can say it's worth it for the people who wants the fun. Boats - it was old, and paints were gone at places, but I can understand they go into the beach many times a day and almost every day.. But it was not maintained well, as we had a cockroaches in our boat in our way and we had to see that instead of dea whether it's coming out or not, as there were ladies nearby and even some wore heavy dresses And needed to be extra careful. Ride - Ride was fantastic. They didn't go that fast and it was worth a ride to the beach. We were able to see fishes jumping around and all the surroundings.

A special shoutout to our boat driver, who was not only skilled but also incredibly funny, adding an extra layer of joy to our memorable ride. His humor and stories made the trip even more enjoyable and left us all in great spirits. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the waiting time for the boats can be a bit long during peak hours. However, the overall experience more than makes up for it. Chunnambar Boat House is a must-visit for anyone in Pondicherry looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended!

The ferry rides are worth the charge.They charge you ₹350 per person to take you to paradise beach and back.Paradise beach is one of the cleanest beaches in India. The parking charges are ₹30 for car and the entry charges per person is ₹15. The last ferry to paradise beach leaves at 4pm and from there back to the ferry point the last ferry is at 5 pm. So plan your trip accordingly.

Must go place in Puducherry especially for kids who will definitely enjoy. There are 2 beaches one maintained by Government and other by private. Boat charge is ok (354/adult) and parking is limited but the beach is beautiful and has lot of fun activities (you need to for each). There are few restaurants and local shops. Best time to visit is either morning 9.30 or evening 3.30. The boat timing is from 9.30 to 4 pm only. The last boat to the beach starts around 3.45 pm so you have to plan accordingly. Overall it’s a good place to go.

Two boating fares are available Rs 260 and Rs 354. per person Rs. 260 is available only at certain timings. Rs 354 is always available End time 5.30 pm They land us at Paradise beach where we could spend half a day. We can enjoy standing in see water at Paradise beach. Nice

It is a must visit place in Pondicherry. Ample parking space , they charge Rs 30 for 4 wheeler parking. It has some food eating joints inside. The last motorboat for Paradise Beach leaves at 4 pm. Motorboat and beach trip costs Rs 354 per head and it will take you atleast 3 hrs on a minimum to complete. One piece of advice , if you have money to spent, do take a speedboat. If you want a chill boat ride, do take a motorboat. The paradise beach is clean .

Entry point for boating to go to Paradise beach. There is nothing much. A fun zone, cricket net (₹180), small eateries (sandwich ₹120, pizza slice, burger, coffee, tea, cone icecream ₹60, water, soda, can beer). One okay restaurant. Decent parking place.

You can take boat rides here as well as ferry to go to Paradise beach. For the ferry there is a wait time of 10-15 mins as they need 10-15 people for one ride. Other option is to rent a speed boat and go on your own but that is way too costly especially for just a couple of people

This place is owned by the Pondicherry government of tourism. The place is well maintained and they do offer some good amenities like restaurants and restrooms. There is a big area for the children to play. Amble parking is also there the entry charges are a little on the highest side but it's okay. The biggest bummer I feel is the lack of safety for the boat passengers. There are no life jackets or other equipment if some mishaps happen. Apart from that, the experience was great there

If we go in group we can enjoy this place. Attached pics of almost everything inside Chunambar. Not much vegetarian hotels near by and canteen inside is costly. Better have food/take food and go.

Boat House to reach Paradise Beach . The must visit Sandy beach in Pondicherry, scenic , clean , best place to have leisure time with family and friends. A well maintained garden is available for relaxation, with food and restroom facilities. Too much crowded during holidays and festival times. Boat charges are nominal to travel to Paradise beach.

To go to Paradise beach you can go by chunambar boat house in a ferry, 350/- per person. As we visited on Monday and it started raining we didn't enjoy anything at all. We only enjoyed the boat ride. And 1 food stall we got there in Paradise beach, tender coconut water also available.

There are long waiting queues here. The minimum wait time is 1 hr for catching a boat to Paradise beach. If you have a vehicle preferably drive down to Paradise beach...

350 rupees for one person in a big boat. It takes around 15 minutes or so to reach the beach from the port. If you are in a hurry then you can take speed boat, it costs more like 2k or so for 4 people. This fare is for drop to the beach and pickup from the beach. The vessels are old but its not that big or secluded place so looked safe and fun

This place offers boating services to reach the paradise beach. The place is simple in good terms. There are variants of boats. Ferry , speedboats etc. Pricing is high for ferry services as multiple people are ferried at once. One thing I noticed is that there are life jackets on the boat but they didn't offer the jacket as a mandatory precaution. Life jackets may not be present in equal numbers as the people being ferried. No way to know. It should be improved. Overall the boat ride is very good and the beach is also wonderful where the boats ferry the people.

I'll break this review into 3 parts. First is how to reach boat house from your stay in Pondicherry: 1) If you have your private vehicle or have taken two wheelers in rent, you can use that and go the boat house. Note, there is parking charges at the boat house that you'll need to pay. 2) If you are not having the above means of transportation, most people will ask you to take an auto and the auto is very expensive as per my opinion. They'll ask you anywhere upwards of 250-300 for like a 7km ride max. Also they might scare you saying return Autos will charge 500 from the boat house to your stay and that the auto you came in would wait for you and you can pay him the same amount but he's providing waiting as well. 3) Suggested to take little extra time and plan this if you do not have personal transportation. Go to Pondy main Busstand by shared auto. Shared auto cost generally ₹10 per head. From Pondy main Busstand, hop into a bus that goes to Nonankuppam. When you alight at Nonankuppam, the boat house entrance is right there. Return from boat house also can be planned the same way. Come out of Boat house and cross the road. You'll find some buses that stop and most are going to Pondy busstand. Second is Fees and charges: I don't know why but they charge you separate entry fees of ₹10 per head just to enter the boat house. Then you have parking fees if you have come in your own vehicles. Finally you have ferry charges of 354 per head for to and fro from the boat house to the Paradise beach. This is a small ferry ride approx 20 mins that will take you across the backwaters to the Paradise beach. I'm not aware of any other option to reach the beach as it is an isolated Island beach. In my personal opinion, i feel this cost is on the higher side. Boat house opens at 9:00 am and the first ferry leaves at 9:30 am. Paradise beach experience: It is a pristine, clean white sand beach. There's not much of Shade available though. Also once you reach there, you have restricted access to part of the beach only. The other part is a private beach and you are not allowed to go there unless you have a stay booked there. This spoils the experience a little. We went on a Monday morning in the first ferry. There was no rush as we were only 10-12 people in the first ferry ride. The beach is good to play in. The washroom/change room and shower facilities are very average and can be improved a lot. You might find 1-2 places for some food. There are some extra experiences available there but we did not see it operating in the morning.

Calm and composed place. Slippers are not allowed, you need to deposit at the counter opposite to the ashram and phones needs to be switched off before entering The place was filled with beautiful blossoming floras & it creates a strong positive vibes around. There's a souvenir shop inside the ashram, you could buy books, postcards and other items in memory of Sri Aurobindo and mother

It's a real attraction of the city. If you find some peace and blessings then you must visit the place. The place is near by beach. You can sit in the Samadhi for a while if you want. The place never disappoint you, You can see the book here on Sreemaa and Rishi Arvinda. Meditation can be done 5 days a week. You must book in advance. Yoga practice is done in morning and afternoon. After meditation you can enjoy watermelon and juice.

It is a calm and quiet place in the middle of the French colony. Well maintained campus. Will get some peace of mind in that place. Nice flower garden and well cultured staff. Strictly no mobile phones allowed there. It is a good one

It's a peaceful and beautiful place but it is equally strange. There are flowers inside and phones are not allowed. There is a tombstone? of sorts and I am not sure why but people were like.... touching their heads and praying around it. Definitely felt like a cult. There is a bookstore and souvenir shop where I got some postcards which were cheap and had pictures of the same flowers located in the garden. Overall can visit but not much to expect in terms of things to do or see.

Calm and divine. Well maintained and peaceful environment. Decorated with many flowers and nice to see many different flower varieties. Mother and Aravindar quotes books publications in different languages were available from Tamil & other major Indian languages, English, Russian, Turkish, Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, Hungarian etc.

The Aurobindo ashram is very peaceful. You need to keep your shoes opposite the entrance, and enter the ashram bare foot. You have switch off the phones to enter. The ashram has the samadhis of Rishi Aurobindo and the Mother, where you pay your respects. There's also a book store if you are interested.

Was here on a Monday morning and was busy. Mobile phones have to be switched off and you are requested to maintain silence for the benefit of other visitors. Not a huge area for visiting and looks like most of the sections are restricted for visitors. The works though few looked stubborn and unwelcome. The resting place of Sri Aurobindo is decorated and on display. They have a book store and a library. People were found sitting meditating around the samadhi of Sri Aurobindo. They have a great garden though much of it can only be enjoyed in the passing as it is along the entry and exit ways

One of the major tourist attraction of pondicherry . Once you enter inside its all quiet , you can sense the calmness. Photos are strictly prohibited inside . The ashram follows strict timings so plan accordingly . It's very near to the rock beach . This is one of the busiest monuments in pondicherry.

Sri Aurobindo Ashram is one of the must visit places of Pondicherry. Commonly called as the Annai Aravindar Ashram. The temple is very close to Rock beach and Manakula Vinayagar temple(walkable distance). The ashram is open for public between 8 am to 11:30 am in the morning and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the afternoon. Other than this restricted entry to the Ashramites and pass holders is allowed between 5:30 am to 8:00 am in the morning and 06:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the evening. Mobiles are to be switched off when we enter the premises. Photography inside is strictly not allowed. Slippers are also not allowed and there is a shoe stand opposite to the ashram. There are a number of plants our path inside. These are beautifully maintained and eye catching. The place will be extremely silent and a great place to get mental refreshment. We are allowed to sit and meditate for sometime (because of Covid restrictions this is currently not allowed). There is a book stall inside where we can buy books related to the ashram and other general books as well. They follow covid protocols strictly.

The Aurobindo Ashram needn't much intro. A peaceful and calm place where you can sit and do meditation. Entry is free but one condition Mobile phone should be switch off  and shoe will be removed before entering the Ashram. There is a bookshop, you can buy different languages book and photos of Sri Aurobindo and Mother for enlightening own spiritual life or to gift someone else. Opening Time-8am to 11:30am & 2pm to 6pm

Every one should visit this ashram if u are in Pondicherry...Sri aurobindo is indian freedom fighter and later transformed into spiritual leader....Phones should switch off at entrance...samadhis of sri aurobindo and his divine mother are there..U can sit and meditate near samadhi....The book shop is there ...U can purchase books, greetings etc . ..Prior booking is needed for meditation...Lot plants and flowers inside which makes it beautiful and calm..

Lovely place by the promenade beach, tranquility n serenity can be felt at this place it is sitting in total silence in between the chaos of this beautiful city. The entry is free to the ashram. Shoes are to be removed in opposite lane before entering. U can get good hotels in near by areas . In the very next lane of this ashram is manakula vinayangar temple . Mobiles need to be switched off before entry too. There is a library inside for you to buy books written by shri maa and shri aurobindo ji in different languages and some post cards too. Cash card both are accepted. If you are in pondicherry to feel the peace of this magical yogic place that has been brought to life by yog kriya of shri maa and shri aurobindo visit ashram n mediation near their samadhi for some time. Afternoon is good time to visit as people are less at that time. This place is better then auroville to understand shri maa’s vision.

The foundation stone of Matru Mandir was laid on 21 February 1971. We are also celebrating Mother Language Day today. Auroville City of Dawn is an experimental urban area in Villuppuram district. A desert plateau of about 20 sq km, 10 km north of Pondicherry and 5 km from the coast. It was designed in 1968 by architect Roger Anger, known as Mirra Alfassa Emene "The Mother" Amma or Matrumurti, in a different architectural style. Commemorating Auroville Aurobindo (1872-1950), work on the Matrumandir, a golden spherical 'mother temple' next to the banyan tree at the center of the International, began very soon. The foundation stone was laid on 21st February 1971 on mother's birthday. The entire area around the Matrimandir is called Shanti area. Inside the Matrimandir, a spiraling ramp leads up to an air-conditioned chamber of polished white marble referred to as "the place to find one's consciousness". Everything in this town uses solar energy. There is rain water reuse. Auroville is one of the last places on Earth to host a significant portion of the emerging Tropical Dry Evergreen (TDEF) forests. Alfassa's first public message in 1965 stated: Auroville aspires to be a universal city where people of all nations can live in peace and progressive harmony across all religions, all politics and all nationalities. Auroville's purpose was to realize human unity. Alfassa hopes that this experimental "universal township" will contribute significantly to humanity's progress towards a better and more glorious future by bringing together people of goodwill and aspiration for a better world.

A must visit on trip to Pondicherry ( Puducherry ) - one must keep timings in mind , as it closes sharp at 11.30 snd reopens at 2 pm. - There is no entry fees. - The shoe stand is opposite to the building and is 'Free' on no charge basis. - There are books and pictures on 'sale' within the complex. - Donations can be made within the complex. It is the most important attraction of Pondicherry. The people from all over the world come to this beautiful divine place. In the center of building there is Samadhi of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother(formerly known as Mirra Alfassa) under shaded trees. The visitors come and sit quietly around Samadhi and meditate. A limited number of rooms are available in Ashram guest houses for short visits but most of the time they are fully booked. it is advisable to make reservations in advance. While the visitors can enter the main building freely during visitors hours, some sections require pass to enter. The Bureau Central Office, designed as an exhibition hall, also provides an introduction to the vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother and their method of spiritual practice , through permanent exhibits of photographs, captions, text, videos and books in different languages. Shoes, mobile and photography are not allowed inside. The visiting hours are from 6 AM to 12 noon and 4 PM to 6 PM daily. Visit for divine experience !!

It’s just an amazing place. If you’re all aware of Rishi Aurobindo and Mother then you’ll get mesmerised by the calmness inside. You’ve to take your shoes off before entering and switch off your phone as well. This is one of the best places to meditate as well. It’s is opened during 2pm-6pm

Sri Aurobindo Ashram is founded under the guidance of Mother in 1926. .The Ashram consists of an interconnected block of houses, including those in which Sri Aurobindo and the Mother lived for most of their lives. At its centre, in a tree-shaded courtyard, lies the Samadhi, a white marble shrine where their bodies are laid to rest. Devotees sit here and pray. Mobile phones are to be switched off before entering the Ashram. Absolute silence to be maintained in order to support the meditating devotees.

This Ashram is located in White Town and quite near to the Rock Beach. This is a beautiful and peaceful place. Just come here and spend some alone time with yourself and don't forget to meditate. You can also visit their book shop and check out the books. The Ashram is small but very peaceful.

An awesome place where you can witness an awesome sunrise early morning. This place is located near to white town and french colony where most the tourist stay which makes this place even more popular and crowded. The rocks which is places on the shore of the beach makes this beach even more special and which makes the place looks more beautiful. The bridge which is located on the shore is another tourist attraction but the restriction is closed to that place. An good place to spend some quality time in both morning and evening. Great place . views are awesome and we feel like we are not in our nation. Sea is clean and tidy. Place look damn good in evening. Rock beach is the one of the best in pondichery. Its near to hometown. Many good hotels are nearby. Parking facilities are great. Police security are above average.

This beach is very beautiful and clean. The best part of the beach is that vehicles are not allowed on the side street of the beach and which makes this place very comfortable to walk in clean air. It's a plastic free zone hence, the road is clean. This road is around 1.5 km long and connects 2 beaches at the same time but the famous beach is the rock beach. There are numerous options to dine and to stay alongside the road which makes it very easy to enjoy this place. You'll find cheaper and high end hotels here with a beach view.

Nice beach. Great experience to watch Sunrise sitting on the rocks. Have seen lot of people walking, exercising, working out in the morning on the beach and on the road adjacent to the beach. The area is very well maintained, but visitors need to co-operate with the authorities to help them keep it clean. This beach can be safely visited with family and kids. We can easily spend 3-4 hours in the beach.

Wonderful experience, the best time to visit rock beach is early morning 6 to 7am.. I visited at that time only, The view and the wave sound gives a pleasant feeling and a new experience.. we can use the rocks to sit and take pictures, it gives a cinematic view. Rock beach is situated near the French colony. It's a place where you can visit during the day and at night. In the daytime the French colony will look beautiful and you can enjoy the beauty of the beach. At night the rock beach looks beautiful with the light decoration and so many people will be roaming here and there. It's a little crowded place. Parking is an issue here, you have to use your skill and mind in peak time.

Most famous beaches among all the beaches in Puducherry. Its name comes from the look of its shore. The rocks are neatly arranged by itself and it's very risky to walk on them. These stones are so black in colour. In the afternoons you will feel so much heat. It will be very pleasant to watch those vibrant waves hitting the rocks. The street along these coasts contains beautiful french style buildings, the doors and windows are beautiful photography backgrounds. Must visit this beach in Puducherry. Wear hat, shoes are mandatory and carry a bottle of water. The eateries available are sold at normal prices except for a few french and 3 star restaurants. This review is completely based on my experience.

I have been to beaches in Mumbai but this one is very neat and clean beach i have seen, it also connects two beaches, there are many cheap and high end hotels on one side of the beach. Being an artist i like that there is a cafe also on the beach where one can enjoy company of himself/herself and friends and family. Great place to read,write, paint. I would also like to mention that this beach is little crowded in the evening but if you want to experience it in calm ambiance then early morning or late night will be the best time. There is also a guy who serves tea there at late night.

Here you can sit for long time if you have explored pondi and enjoy beach view, sunset & leisure time. this is famous spot in locals and we found mostly locals there as it was weekend. We went in night there around 10 am and it was crowded so you need not worry if going late night. On this lane of beach you will find good restaurants and you can enjoy food too. Vehicles are not allowed in this lane which is quite good idea so that people can explore this lane by walk. This is a run of mill beach that can be found along any coast in any country. The ideal time to go is in the morning when only serious walkers can be found. In the evening lots of crowd is there.

Market runs parallel and the beach has good amount of benches and seating places. The beach area is clean and maintained and it does have police personnel for help and assistance. You will find some very good bakery, restaurant and tourist attractions nearby rock beach. Highly recommended for evening walk, run around. Parking is also nearby which charges only rs 20 for 2 hours. Must park vehicle in old port parking.

This is one of the important beaches to visit for a sunrise. But unfortunately by the time I reached, I was too late for the sunrise. But it has some awesome picturesque places and you need to watch your feed there are a lot of crabs in certain parts

This is a beautiful gothic french church. With best french interior carving details on the walls, pillars and all over the interior of the church with such good lighting and Colors brightnens up the ambience. This light colour and the great creative carving art work around give a very rich healing spiritual ambience. The beautiful chandelier, wal lights, etc.. it was been so heavenly vibe inside it. Such a beautiful park which is built for the health and fitness of the residents. The vibe is very positive. Though it is very old, it still looks as good as new. Green foliage, squirrels running about, children playing, elders exercising and the cool fresh air of the sea, make it a must go place to visit.

Wonderful experience, I recommend everyone who loves water sports and 🏖️⛱️ beaches to pay a visit to this location which is around 20-25 minutes away.. I had visited the park with my wife and daughter although with the baby there are very few things that can be done . But you can enjoy the scenery and the beach area which is very good .. Right now parking is free of cost and entry tickets are 70 per person. Rest other sports have their own charges .. but the restaurant inside PR ices are very high and food taste is normal ..

I visited this park recently, really good place for families. Evening was so great . We have spent more than 2 hours in the park. A lot of sittings are available. What is distressing is that all the children's toys are damaged. Government has to spend money for this kind of utilities.Actually it is located in front of governors building and in-front of Puducherry assemble.

Decided to spend some time waiting for my family at the botanical garden with my son. We enjoyed the children's play area, big beautiful trees and the aquarium. The play area is well kept and neat, my son loved the twisted slide. I loved the various plants and trees maintained. Had to go one more time to enjoy the plants. The aquarium was a surprise for me with various varieties of fishes and well maintained name boards. There's a lawn area too to relax. A great place to relax and spend time with family :) Well maintained but the weather was so humid due to summer which made us sweat a lot.

Puducherry Botanical Garden is located south of the New Bus Stand. This tropical resort is flanked by a creek on one side. The Botanical Gardens add great educational and recreational value to Puducherry. The gate leading to the garden is reminiscent of French architecture and it stands out from its immediate surroundings because it is smack in the middle of the old Tamil town. The Botanical Gardens were laid out in 1826 in ornate French style, with pruned trees, beautiful flower beds and gravel lined paths and fountains. this place require serious renovation as there are no proper maintenance. Many leaves with disappointment. I almost knows this place since my childhood unfortunately it's loosing it's beauty.

Went after a long time and happy to see that it's maintained very well. Toy train is functional. It costs 20rs for adult entry fee. Train and aquarium entries are 10rs for adults each. Aquarium has a wide varieties of fishes and turtle. Well maintained park area and equipments. Its a kinda must visit place on everyday evening if you have kids at home. There are jogging tracks as well. As users we do have responsibility to maintain cleanliness of the park.

Entry ticket is 20rs for an adult now. Nothing much to visit here, maintenance is not upto level. Lotus pond has full of algae. There are restrooms available here. The best part of visiting here is the toy train, which costs separate 10rs for one adult and 5rs for kids.

It has lost its charm and a lot of it seems old and not renovated yet. Although, it is extremely beautiful in general inside. The pond was just dirty water with dust on top, along with the train that goes around the garden not working at all. It's nice for a walk and some picturesque moments. One nice part of the place was the aquarium, it was well maintained and had a wide variety of fish.

Nice place to see. The small toy train was the centre of attraction. It took 15 mins for the ride and the charge was reasonable of Rs.20. I enjoyed the ride. There were too many trees so the atmosphere was pleasant.

There is extra fee for professional photography / videography. The place is a couple's friendly park. The garden would be a good place for nature enthusiasts. Even though this place is good place. if you are staying for a short time you can skip this place. Overall experience was positive.

The place is not well kept and i suppose the place is in the process of rennovation as we could see some kind of on going work in progess. The place houses a green house which is in shambles and also an in house aquarium where you have to pay an additional charge in spite of paying for the entire tour. And you could just find some miserable empty containers and quite common fishes and tortoises. Tbh the tortoises are quite cute and i happened to see cute blue lobsters with teenie weenie legs! So next time in pondy if you wanna just kill some time while waiting for your train schedule.! I suppose you could kill a few hours here loitering here and there in and around the garden! If you have kids along, there’s a appreciable play arena for the kids too some metres away from the main entrance.!

Botanical Gargen is one of the iconic places of Pondicherry. It is a very large area of green cover and close to the heart of the town. It is well maintained and has a play area for kids. People use it for walking during morning and evening times. There is also a toy train facility that both kids and adults both love to ride on. Within the premises there is a small aquarium as well that is not very prominently visible. Parking area is huge and can accommodate cars, vans and buses as well.

Entry ticket price is just 20 for adult and 10 for kids. U can definitely have a pleasant time. As it's just a small garden, U can hang out for an hour or 2 maybe.

History and architecture replete makes it a site worth visiting at least once. The first Church was built by the priests from France in 1689 and was destroyed by the Dutch invaders in 1690. The Church is known as Samba Kovil amongst the locals. While there isn't much mentioned about the cathedral's architecture, you must visit it to experience it. The Church has undergone tremendous changes and reconstruction over some time. But, unfortunately, it has been destroyed thrice in the past 350 years, and what you see today is the Church built on the foundation of the 3rd time it was damaged. The architecture has evolved, rendering it more beautiful than its original construction style. The gorgeous central aisle is replete with golden pillars and blue-tinted ceilings with snippets from the life of Jesus Christ. You have an array of wooden benches to sit and pray on, and if you wish, you can also attend the prayer service. The Church also consists of a choir loft, bell tower, an intricately redesigned esplanade (open space), and a splendid display of colors. The colors inside the Church make you fall in love with it repeatedly.

Amazing church to visit. It is the oldest cathedral church in Puducherry which shares a bit of history. The interiors are so well maintained. We can see some amazing paintings inside the church. I highly recommend visiting this church to everyone irrespective of their religious beliefs.

Good Church with unique architecture from outside. The inside is like any ordinary churches but it is in more Portuguese style. I was more impressed by the exteriors than the interiors. The environment of the church is calming and peaceful and felt divine.

Immaculate conception church is located in the midst of bustling Mission St. The chapel is much smaller than the other two churches but the ceiling above the altar has some great Christian artwork. As with all other churches in Pondicherry, the architecture is very Gothic and imposing. It’s considered respectful to remove footwear before entering the chapel. Definitely worth visiting!

A French style catholic Church which is quite close to the White town. This is a huge church located quite close to the centre of the town. The architecture of the facade looks different to other churches I've seen and is painted mostly in yellow, white and bits of blue. Loved the visit to this Church in Pondicherry. Had the opportunity to attend a mass in Tamil when we visited as well. Old Church but very beautiful. They do have mass in English on Sundays too at 5:15 pm.

Good museum with some old artifacts and an art gallery inside. There are old swords, coins, fossilised wood, Old furniture of governor Dupleix and even some modes of transport. Nice to visit for half an hour. No photography allowed inside the building. Only the outside part can be captured by a camera.

Not a big museum. It's fine to this place out. Low entry ticket fee. Ran by government. We went there in 2019. Remembered this place when i was scrolling my phone's gallery. You should take care of car parking.

It is located right in the heart of White Town. Even the building is an old piece of French architecture. Entry ticket was Rs.20 and not 1$. The museum had some very old coins, arms and artifacts which can be enjoyed by history lovers. It is open from 9 to 6.30 PM and remains closed on Mondays and Public holidays. Photography inside is not allowed.

It is really a nice place for people who love history and want to see all the ancient things, it has eye catchy vintage royal furniture and household things that was personally very eye catchy for me. But it is really small, yet they have maintained it really well, they have a library too that has many old new books for people who want to explore the vingate Era or study history

A stunning temple adorned with exquisitely drawn wall paintings showcasing all 108 temples. Remarkably clean and well-maintained throughout. However, prasadam isn't available for purchase on-site. The temple pond stands immaculately clean, suggesting bathing might be prohibited on the premises.

Must visiting place in pondicherry. Place of worship with unique architecture. There is a pond here where one can feed the fish. The only problem was proper cleaning of the pond.

The temple enclosed by a granite wall. It has a five-tiered rajagopuram at the temple’s gateway tower. Lord Vishnu is worshipped in the temple by the Vaikasana Agama tradition of worship. Daily four rituals are followed.
