A picturesque temple on the lake Danau Beratan at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. Pura Ulung Danu is the second most important temple in Bali and was built in 1633. On the territory of the temple there is a very beautiful park with an area for children. It is quite cold here and it can occasionally rain, so it is recommended to wear warm clothes and have an umbrella or a raincoat with you. Entrance to the temple will cost you 75k + parking. Also here you can rent a boat for a trip on the lake and an absolutely unique view of the temple from the lake.

One of the largest lake temple of Bali. Pity though is that is quite crowded, and the smell of fuel from boats racing in the lake (and the noise) does not really fit with the experience. Almost anything there is tailored around getting more money out of the pockets of tourists. If looking for a quiet and spiritual experience, well, there are other better venues in this beautiful Island.

The place is situated next to a lake and the view is mesmerizing, it feels very calm when you are there. In the evening it becomes quite cold and the atmosphere changes suddenly and it feels amazing. There is a children's play area also so that they can enjoy it. There are a range of restaurants and shops so that your time can pass. It's a holy place and has a worship area too, it's also very clean.

Beautiful gardens and temples, had a lovely time wandering around. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds but give yourself time to explore. Nice coffee in the cafe.

The temple is like a themed park with the temple itself at its center. It has a huge area that you can explore and take pictures of. There's also some water activities like boat ride and paddling. There area restaurants and playgrounds conveniently located inside. The architecture is beautiful and the symbolisms are also interesting to know. A guide who's familiar with the place and it's structures would make the experience better.

Ah, I love the view here. And on the way here you can see beautiful scenery along the road. The air also feels good here. Nice place to take a picture or two or a dozens. There are some photographers available too, they can take your picture for a reasonable price and have them printed right away. I recommend them because they know the best angle to take the pictures 👍🏻

I visited here in 2018 for a junior high school study tour. This place is simply amazing. The temple is very beautiful, clean and comfortable, as well as the view of the lake and mountains which adds to the beauty and soothes the heart. This place also has a large and well maintained garden. Luckily when I visited here, I could see Hindus carrying out worship. I can see directly the process and how they worship. Wearing traditional Balinese clothes, accompanied by traditional musical instruments, and of course there are “sesajen” as offerings. They worship quietly without being disturbed by the presence of tourists.

What an interesting experience! This place is definitely a must see. Well looked after and some great photography spots! The coffee shop was really worth visiting for the Luwak coffee and service was great.

A very strange place, we went expecting the sombre holiness of a sacred site and instead ran into what can only be described as a theme park. Speedboat rides, fibreglass dinosaurs, many different cafes and restaurants, and designated selfie spots made it a beautiful and exciting place. I would happily suggest it to travellers, but maybe don't expect a temple atmosphere. Definitely a place to enjoy the natural beauty of the local mountains and lakes however.

Beautiful nice lake temple surrounded by mountains. Fortunately when we reached it was little cloudy making it a relaxed walking experience in this temple garden. It is a little far from the ubud,but worth going.

Its beautiful, the main attraction is pura/temple with beautiful lake as a background. Ticket is cheap, the land is green with fresh air and many colorful flower. You can bring family for picnic because thereis table and chair in the garden, or you can bring your friend for some relax time!

We came here first time in the morning when they opened! We pretty much had the place to ourselves with some locals doing religious ceremony. I give a 4* for the Beautiful grounds and temples are stunning! My son loved all the animal statues etc but the big disappointment is the real animal display & exploitation. They had a mini animal display tucked up in the corner with reptiles, owls , ciwet cats etc.. pay for photos with them which I found disgusting! Asia is notorious for animal exploitation!

I went to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple in Bali and it's amazing. It's right by a lake with mountains behind it, making it a great spot for pictures. We came here with hired private driver and the drive from town was more than an hour. Although it's a bit far, it's worth the visit because the surroundings are full of greenery and the lake is so pretty. It was cloudy when we were there so it was a bit cooler. It wasn't crowded during the weekdays either. There are some new IG areas for photos so that's a bit cheesy. Otherwise this is one temple in Bali worth visiting.

Definitely worth visiting. One of the most beautiful and known hinduism temple in Bali. If you’re looking for a trip do not miss this. Very pretty photos. There are few restaurants and a cafe in the area, so you don’t need to worry about being hungry. It’s better to take raincoats and umbrellas on every trip you go, because when it rains it’s usually very heavy rain. It’s the best to come in the morning - less people = more peace = better photos.

My third time to visit Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. Improvements have been very noticeable in the area. Unfortunately, the major attraction here which is the "floating" temple was undergoing repairs so scaffoldings are in place all around the temple. New statues and other attractions are placed around the garden. Cafes and restaurants are also operating to cater to visitors. We could have enjoyed the park and its facilities if it didn't rain heavily. We were forced to stay in one of the cafes and wait until the rain stopped. The rain however, did not stop so we had no choice but to end our day and go back to our hotel. But not after visiting some souvenir stores and buying some stuff.

A great place for locals or if you are bored from the traditional Balinese things. This place is extremely clean and organized. It would be a perfect spot for a weekend with the family. However, I do not think it is a nice place for tourists. It is a great spot for locals though.

We reached here from Ubud, while maps show it is 2 hours away it should be noted that it is atop a hilly terrain, so the travel also includes winding roads and typical cool chilly air in the hills. The drive and travel was totally worth it. It is very beautiful and calming inside speacially due to presence beside the lake. There are lot of photo opportunities inside, so make sure you dress up nicely. Tourists are not allowed to actually visit inside the main temple area where prayers are offered untill you partake in relish joys ceremony in the Balinese traditional clothes. But that is the case with all temples. There is an entry fees. Place is highly commercial with 2 restaurants inside and lot of play areas for kids.

Some stunning rice field landscapes with trails of various sizes that wind through them. Shortest trail is ~30-40 minute stroll, but there are also routes that could take up the better part of the day. Lots of restaurants close by to lounge at before or after your meander through the rice. There is an entry fee to the general area that you'll be stopped for on the road in.

These rice terraces are like no others! They are so impressive and seem to stretch endlessly. There are five trails that go through the terraces and the treks range from 30 min to 4.5 hours. You can even rent bicycles at the entrance if you're feeling lazy 😋

I felt this place is a bit under rated. Being the largest rice terrace in Bali the views one would experience are magnificent. We visited during July although crops were not present in most part of the terraces it was looking good. There are options to rent a bike manual or electric and roam around to the Terraces however hiking is always an option. If you're visiting I would suggest you to grab a cup of coffee from the local store there.

It is an amazing place but like a maze, Make sure: 1- to bring some money with you to buy some refreshments through the way 2- know where you come from, or you might end up like me , exiting from different side, and had to walk back to starting point. During the way, you will find two waterfalls, that you can swim and refresh in one of them, so also print the needed clothes for that 😆

A few years ago, these rice terraces were off-the-beaten track but they are now a popular place to see some of the Balinese countryside. At the end of the rainy season, these rice terraces glow emerald green, making them a wonderful place for photography. There are well-labelled trails among the rice terraces which lead you to shrines, temples and viewpoints. Highly recommended.

Best choice if you're looking for rice terrace view in Bali. Very clean, refreshing air, friendly people. The road to get there is also in very good condition. You can also see views of Marigold lands along the way. Must visit if you're in Bali.

Amazing place, by far one of the most beautiful and vast rice fields I have seen. There is a 40k IDR fee to access which is more than fair given how clean and well maintained the whole area is. Everyone around from local farmers to tourist information staff are very kind and helpful. You can feel very relaxed by just chilling on a bench or walking around. It is definitely a perfect place for a hike in nature and for any person that enjoys lush greenery.

Jatiluwih is one of the hidden gems of Bali, highly recommend if you ever get a chance to visit! I had rented my own car. If you are not comfortable driving on Bali roads, it might be best to hire a driver. My recommendation would be to follow the red guidelines. While it's the shortest route, the view points are spectacular and you will be able to save energy for anything else you have planned for the rest of the day. It's about 1.5 hrs northwest of Ubud. More authentic and much less touristy compared to other rice terraces in Bali. unfortunately it had just rained the day I went and they had already picked the rice, so the fields were not as green as usual. but still very pretty and nice to walk around. Not too many people there that day so good to escape from the crowds for a bit. You can choose from several trails of various lengths. The red one is the shortest and can be done in about 30 minutes one way if walking slowly and stopping for photos.

Always lovely to visit Jatiluwih rice terrace, one of the must visit spot in Bali. Even on the way to Jatiluwih you will be served with authentic Balinese life, away from hustle bustle of tourism. Magnificent views, I'd recommend taking a walk through the rice fields, stop by the merchants and either get yourself fresh coconut or just some snacks. The merchants who are also the farmers are very friendly and lovely. There is also a number of options for your lunch around the area, so you can have your meal while looking at the stretch of the world cultural heritage site. A must for visitors of Bali

Fantastic place! So much greenery, lots of good hiking trails, you can stay here for a long time enjoying the beautiful and tranquil scenery. I also really enjoyed being surrounded by thousands of dragonflies. There also are lots of different butterflies, including really huge ones. You can see birds, lizards as well. For those crazy about taking pictures at every step there are lots of photo opportunities. Lots of places to eat and drink.

No wonder Unesco declare this place as the World Heritage Centre. I mean look at the view, even my phone camera cant capture the beauty of this place. I love rice fields so much and this is like heaven to me, the plants were so thick and it covers the hills like unending carpet, so beautiful! Its really felt refreshing when you sit by the side of rice fields enjoy whatever food or drinks served. Its all about scenery, serene, calmness and nature.

As must! It is unreal. Word heritage site and very peaceful. We did about 2 hours trekking, mostly flat ground. Quite muddy after the rain. You can rent bicycles too (if it’s sunny)! Entrance fee is about $2-3 pp. there are coffee shops and stuff too if you just want to take in the view without the walking.

The rice terraces, which are under UNESCO World Heritage, are definitely worth a stomach - even if you had already visited some like us. When we stood on site, the rice was still in full splendor in the fields. The sheer size is simply impressive and invites you to take an extensive walk. Several routes have been set up for this purpose and are very well signposted. Basically, in my opinion, therefore also possible without a guide. Tip to all grass allergy sufferers: Be sure to have a nasal spray ready 😉

Stunning views and not to crowded. We have been there around 1 pm. You can combine the trails as you like. No worries the trails dont have to take as much time as it says on the signs. Unfortunetly or luckily we somehow took the wrong road from the south and end up in front of a temple where the official road ended. We took a path to the left and drove through the Rice fields to the parking lots. Was pretty funny but probably not wished since we also missed the Ticket counter.. so take the road from the north if you navigate with google.

A spectacular view over the rice fields, there are a lot of trails and a map at all of the entrances. You can also find a spot for taking pictures with a donation. There are people working on the fields and people selling very tasty chips at some points. You can also rent an electric bike or you can either just walk on the trails. It’s the biggest rice field in Bali and definitely worth a visit

I just loved this place. Tegallalang rice terrace is nothing comparing to Jatiluwih. If u actually want to enjoy the rawness of a rice terrace you must must visit this place. This place has no swing but if u like nature, you gonna love this place. Try to avoid the heat at mid day. Early morning and afternoon is a great time.. this place has different tracks to enjoy the walkways..

Great place, so serene, peaceful and green. The hiking trails are well prepared. Take at least the orange route, if you have time then the white - it's not all the same same, you will see different things. The times are well exaggerated on the plan, although it depends on how fast you walk and how many times you stop for pictures :-). The white route is 5.5km but a bit of up and down, and it IS hot. You can get a coconut on the way (20k IRP), great if you're thirsty. The entrance to the area is I think 50k, parking costs too. The rice fields are beautiful, though, highly recommended.

Srunning rice paddies field, I always love to embrace with the nature. Just little note. If you want to go there, please bring umbrella or raincoat. Like today, there was rain and we don't bring any umbrella or raincoat. And we met the guy ( guide) with his guests gave us 3 raincoats. Thank you.

The biggest rice terrace in Bali!! If you have time it will be nice to explore it!! There are many different paths to hike!! Also you can buy rice and other products made of rice there!!! There is an entrance fee of 40000Rp!!

Great rice field, worth getting there and experiences a working rice field. There is several routes around/through the rice field. Can take 1 to 2 hrs depending on the route and casual walk. Just enjoy the green field and quiet peaceful surrounding. You can get a coffee at a peak in the middle of the field. Sit at one of the many restaurants around the farm and watch the daily pace of rice farmers attending to their crops. The rice farm is surrounded by other rice and vegetables/fruit farm surrounding it. These other farms look free to wondering if you can ask the farmers for their permission.

Having seen a few of these around Bali, this one for me is a stand out. A UNESCO site that has different trails within the terraces for you to explore, enjoy and appreciate the art of rice growing. A collection of restaurants are at the start of the trails for you to enjoy before or after your exploring.

A must visit UNESCO World Heritage Site nominated since June 2012. Located in the Tabanan regency of Bali, it covers over 600Ha of picturesque rice fields that follow the undulating hillside topography of the Batukaru mountain range. There are 5 hiking routes as accessible options: Red: This is the shortest route 2km long which takes about one hour, up to Blue: With 7 km, this is longest trekking path route and adaptable for advanced trekkers. It’s a hike about 4 hours in the untouched nature.

This place is really mesmerizing and so peaceful to the mind and soul. Arrived to this rice terrace on a hot sunny day, everything was so good, the view, the breeze of the air, the scenery, really an amazing experience. We stopped for some warung and cafe to chill before we moved to our next destination

Very pretty views surrounded by a lot of money grabbing. Prices of restaurants are dearer than mid town Ubud but lacking the quality. Walking the rice terraces is a nice thing to do but go early. For every meter you're going (downhill) you'll be coming back uphill on the way back and there is not a lot of shade.

Fishing and picture-taking from the deck of a boat are both enjoyable activities that may be enjoyed at this location. At the time of this evaluation, there was a cloud hovering over the lake, which made it exceptionally cool to travel around in that area.

The temple is located in central Bali on the western side of Beratan Lake in Bedugul and is one of the very serene temples I have ever seen. The grounds of the temple were beautiful with flowers blooming. The peaceful lake and green mountains surrounding the temple contribute to the tranquil atmosphere of the temple.

Nestled in the serene landscapes of Tabanan, Bali, this spot is truly beautiful, offering a tranquil atmosphere and refreshing, clean air. It serves as a reverent temple, providing a peaceful space for worship and connection with the God.

Cold but calming. I really enjoy the atmosphere around Bedugul, notwithstanding the Beratan lake. Only passed through on our way to Sumberkima from Ubud, but only a few minutes here was already very relaxing.

Long time not see this place maybe around 10 years, but the lake almost same and still beautifull.. the weather is cold with fresh air.. you will take around 1,5 hours from Denpasar to Bedugul lake, and if you want entering the tempel / pura you may charge for 30k IDR and 5k IDR for parking.. the garden around this place full of blooming flower and make this place more comfortable to visit

This boat ride on the Ulun Beratan Temple on the Dana Beratan Lake was very fun. The boat driver was very nice, let us drive the boat or go in the front of the boat an take us pictures, very nice experience.

Clear your mind here! The weather is very pleasant. I would recommend visiting outside peak season because it’s so much better when there’s less people. If you travel by bikes be mindful of the high chance of rain, pack your raincoat.

I went to Bali at the end of October. What I visited was Lake Beratan Bedugul, a clean place with a beautiful view of the lake flanking the mountains and hills. In the middle of the lake there is the Ulun Temple where Hindus pray, around the lake there is also a garden. It is quite neat and clean. The temperature in Bedugul is very cool because it is at an altitude of 1,239 meters above sea level, so the air temperature here is quite cool when I visited at 14.00-16.00. The atmosphere there was a lot of visitors, which can be said to be busy for the experience I had. what I got when I visited Bedugul was a new atmosphere, the culture of Balinese people and being able to meet foreign tourists and learn the daily language of Balinese people

i went to Bali at the end of October. i visited bedugul for study tour from my school. Bedugul are very beautiful, i liked the temples, and the local peoples are very nice. The weather was bright and cool at the afternoon than other destinations. The situation was crowded. I rode duck boat and it was so fun.

We were there in September and at the time there were lots of baby butterflies being born. That was probably the coolest thing cuz you could watch them pull out of their cocoons and turn into something beautiful. The rest of the Butterfly Park you couldn't really see you too many butterflies and hence no five star rating. But I would go again

Great place to visit with or without kids! Huge butterflies and other insects won’t leave you indifferent. They even let you hold it!

One of the very best parks to interact closely with the animals, if you’re not afraid of insects. Guide is very informative, and great for educational purposes. The butterfly species will depend on the season. Besides butterflies, there are also other insects such as beetles, stick insect, leaf insect, and moths. We were very lucky to get close to the giant moth, seen in the picture. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Bali.

The Butterfly Park, is in general nice and clean. You can discover awesome butterflies in a more or less natural habitat. So the butterflies have a good life in their averagely 14 days lifetime. But the opposite to this is the condition for the squirrels and flying squirrels. Way too small cages. This is means cruelty to the animals. It’s a shame. Please provide animal appropriate cages for these animals. Or even better give freedom to this animals! It’s much more interesting to watch them in free nature. The squirrels are scared together in a corner of the cage. I am confident visitors are fine with exploring butterflies wild life only in a so called Butterfly Park. Thank you

Amazing place with even more amazing staff, they are extremely passionate about 🦋. They had a hard time being close for one year but I'm sure in a couple of months the place will be back to it's formal glory. Actually when you buy the tickets you don't only get access to the butterfly expo you also gain access to an amazing botanical garden.

Really good experience with butterfly, but you must pay attention to visit hour, because they will mostly fly around 9 am or 3 pm, the place not huge, just in 10 minute walk you can explore all part of the park, but you can enjoy every part with butterfly flying around you, the ticket are not expensive but not cheap either, plus you can learn much at museum before exit the park. Overall I'm satisfied with this place

The working people there are really kind and give you a little tour/ teach you about different butterflies insects and their developing. One lady also used German names while explaining and told us she learned it by asking visitors what the names are for different insects etc. Really sweet. We also got offered free coffee and tea

I went there to check the location for the preschool field trip. I was a bit sceptical about the place at first then amazed at how they maintained the place well and decent. The staff welcomed us friendly and well aware to share the information regarding the butterfly lives. You can see the butterflies 🦋 flying around freely and they have a little museum inside. It might not be as big as Bali Zoo or Safari yet a good place to visit with kids who want to acquire knowledge about insects, especially butterflies.

It’s pretty nice, with a bunch of butterflies, beetles, and even scorpions. It was nice to have some people there that taught us many things about the species there, they even put butterflies all over my wife!

Had a great experience at the Bali butterfly park with my 3 girls ,seeing the cocoons and holding the butterflies and giant moths was soo cool however the highlight of the day for me was the beetle , I have been obsessed with them since I was a kid and finally having the chance to hold it was truly amazing , thank you to all the staff everyone was professional and soo kind

Awesome place, I really enjoyed the visit. The whole place looks like an enchanted garden. The stuff is really nice, they tell you about the butterflies and other insects that live there. You can hold newborn butterflies and take pictures. There is also a small museum with butterflies from all around the world.

Large botanical garden and a good place go visit in Bedugul. Entrance fee is reasonable (25k / 35k during week days / weekends). Staff is very friendly and you can enjoy guided tours, e-scooter tours, or rent an e-bike or regular bicycle for affordable prices. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is that when I came it wasn't very well maintained. A lot of the info boards are very old and damaged, some were illegible. There were also a few exhibits closed "due to covid" but I think it's just because maintenance is lacking. Highlights: big tree, prehistoric plant garden, beautiful tropical forest.

Amazing place for those, who like long walks by the nature. The park has a breathtaking view on the lake and much space for picnics. The main disadvantage is that park seems to be abandoned - the roads are covered with moss, some gardens are closed and other are pretty old and in need of renovation. Generally I enjoyed the visit as I aimed to have a long walk in the forest. The entrance + bike parking is 35.000 rp.

The botanical gardens is found over a large hilly area that would be difficult to walk around due to distance. Many of the more impressive sites are currently closed due to covid which significantly reduces the value of visiting this site. Note that this is more of a picnic garden than tourism garden. Go to the blooms nearby for a more touristy garden at a similar entry fee

An Average Experience with Room for Improvement During my visit to the Bali Botanical Park, I had an average experience that left me with mixed feelings. While there were some aspects that stood out, there were also areas where improvements could be made. One of the main issues I encountered was the lack of efficient exploration options within the park. Although I obtained a map from the information center, it didn't provide clear directions, leading to unnecessary detours and frustration. Despite these setbacks, I found the statues along the middle road extending from the main gate to be the most captivating aspect of the park. They added a touch of intrigue and cultural significance to the surroundings, making it a worthwhile experience. Additionally, the highlight of the park was undoubtedly the breathtaking Lakeview. I highly recommend making the effort to reach it, as the tranquil beauty of the lake is truly worth the journey. Unfortunately, for enthusiasts of plants like myself, the park didn't offer much in terms of botanical wonders. The focus seemed to be more on the statues and the scenic views, rather than a diverse range of plant species. However, I do regret not spending more time exploring the nurseries located just before the park entrance, as I've heard they boast a stunning variety of plants. Overall, my visit to the Bali Botanical Park left me with mixed feelings. While there were elements that stood out, such as the statues and the captivating Lakeview, improvements in terms of navigation and plant diversity could greatly enhance the overall experience. I would recommend this park to those seeking cultural experience, but for true plant enthusiasts, there might be better options available.

The good part; nature is awesome, this place looks well maintained for the trees, plants, grasses, all good. Cleanliness are also well maintained. The not so good part; renting bicycle is expensive, electric bike also expensive and only able to roam certain areas, shuttle are expensive, limited, and unable to make pitstop at all. Apart from that, it's good and refreshing.

What a great place to walk around and relax. So clean and quiet with lots to see and explore. Highly recommend visiting this place. My partner and I walked up from the lake to an alternative entrance, if you’re up for a bit of exercise. So many explanations of local flora and fauna, with Hindu temples 🛕and statues and pagodas to rest in.

Beautiful botanical garden, amazing scenery and lots of amazing specimens. Would not recommend the mountain bike as it keeps on breaking, would be better to just walk or as a family rent a cart. There are some parts of the garden that seem to be run down and closed, possibly because of the pandemic and lack of visitors to those areas based on other peoples previous experiences. Would want more signs with explanations and facts so people could learn more of the collections, instead of just hanging tags. Seems to be dog-friendly as well.

Extremely beautiful big trees, the overall area needs a lot of maintenance, you can see they struggled a lot with covid due to lack of maintenance. Its very hard walking area, if you struggle with walking and cant handle lots of ups and downs rent a scooter or bike in the front. The toilet areas is very dirty and no toilet paper.

I visited on Monday as far as I remember. The road to the place itself is quite curvy so you might want to be careful. Beautiful sceneries will be on your way nearby. Bali Botanical Garden is a vast area to run around and play! It’s very good for grounding and unleashing your inner child by drawing, painting, playing physical games, etc. Don’t worry if you’d like to have a fun little picnic because it’s definitely doable here. Find your comfy spot and you’re good to go! You can also rent a bicycle to explore the entire area. You get free water with your entrance ticket. I didn’t go too far back at the garden because I had to hurry to shoot for my Youtube video which will be up soon. I will announce it on my instagram when it’s out! @ameliakrali I am sure the further you go, the more peaceful it gets, so if you don’t like to be bothered by other visitors, walk further into it.

One of the most complete flowers and garden collection in Bali and is part of Kebun Raya group. The area inside are huge and is advised to rent a bike/buggy/shuttle/scooter to explore whole area. Don't worry they're affordable. The weather is kinda chill and if it's rainy days, be careful of slippery ground. Overall it's a lovely place to visit

The black sand feels nice on your feet. If you don’t surf, there is nothing for you to do here, the sea water is grey and very rough. Not very good spot for swimming. But the black sandy beach looks truly amazing and it feels so soft. As on every beach on bali, plastic beaches are a hype, unfortunately this one as well.

A very beautiful, remote then touristy beach. It is more of a surfer, but you can come here just for a special atmosphere, tranquility and incredible sunsets. There are several restaurants and many rental rooms. The beach is almost always not crowded. This is one of the few beaches in Bali, where shark attacks on a person, a surfer, are recorded. The route to the beach from the Kuta side is not very comfortable due to the large number of trucks that go to and from the ferry to Java.

It would be nice - laid back, beach Ok and some nice beach bars / restaurants. But it is singularly the worst place in the world if you want peace and quiet. There are packs of dogs roaming around, and incessant barking that goes on hour after hour. No one controls their own dogs, most seem go out all day and leave them; let alone any control of those that roam freely around in and out of the villas, houses and alleys. I guess it’s a problem across Bali as well - but seems much worse here - so best to go to some other country that isn’t spoilt.

This beach was quiet with small crowds. The water was clear and great for walking. Some parts have soft charcoal colored/black sand, while other parts have rocks. Collected a lot of small seashells. Every morning, surfers were out surfing. A few stray dogs waiting for anyone to feed them. Some trash but not as bad as other beaches in Bali. Enjoyed this beach more than the populated beaches in Bali too.

Amazing surfing beach. I drove my scooter from Canggu to Balian and it was amazing once I got closer to the beach. But it was super sketchy and overall do not recommend driving a scooter on the main roads that far. I got to these rice terraces very close to the beach which was a beautiful surprise. Once I got to the beach you can have some coffee and watch the surf. After my surf there’s a great pool you can chill at for the day, just pay I think 100k. Highly recommend this spot if you wanna surf and chill

A hidden gem. I loved it here. Such a peaceful place surounded by nature. There are 2 mains pools, one which is next to a small natural waterfall. There are also like 10 little hot bath rooms with almost closed rooms where the water is hoter. The water was warm enough in all pools. If I remember well I paid 45k rp.

A nice place to bath. The place was surrounded by nature. The view was really breathtaking and the weather was cool. The parking area is free, you need to walk down the stairs for about 5minutes to reach the hot spring spots. They have private pools with entrance ticket around IDR 50k/room (Rp. 50.000) , so you and your family or friends can enjoy the hotspring in a closed pool. The room is quite big. It has a shower bringing out the hot water. The pool was clean too. But it needs to add more rubbish bin. And the shower place is open, which I think it supposed to be in private. The toilets were not really clean. To sum up, the place was good. There is a canteen to buy some food as well.

If you are planning to go to Jatiluwih or just finished a walk there you might enjoy a relaxing hot bath at this Hotspring. It has a nice waterfall and private baths for people that want more privacy. Sadly no hot shower to clean the mountain water from your body.

Brought by Klook Driver to this place. Not unexpected that he may earn some commission, but the visit is worth it. The setting is nice, with a walk within plantation. Brought up to a small hut, where it is a welcome respite from hot weather. Tried one cup of Luwak Coffee (from poo of civet cats after they ate coffee beans).

Some of the best coffee I’ve had in my lifetime. So many different kinds. Staff is super super nice. Don’t forget to try their coffee and tea samples. The vanilla coffee and the pandang tea are to die for. Although a little expensive, the coffee powder makes for a nice souvenir to take back home. The swing isn’t all that great. You can try it if you have the time and it’s not super expensive either. But don’t go there just for the swing.

101% very pure and tasty coffee. You will get 10+ variety flavour coffees. Its ready made coffee and hand made coffee. They all down to earth treat very well. I never har like this coffee in my life. They explain how they make coffee with detail explanations. And very spacial is luwak coffee u should try this.

We tasted teas and coffee. I could finally see the Lowak cat, which was very cute, and finally I could taste the fruits of his work on Kopi Lowak coffee! We got to know a lot of plants, and our host was glamorous, smiling, very nice and thorough! Thank you for the pleasant pastime! In the end we could buy coffee and teas!

The place where you can get good bali coffee with variety of flavours and they grow various plants and herbs they show you the process of how the coffee is made and this place sells luwak coffee which comes from luwak animal which is very nice and aroma is very nice and its little expensive compared to normal coffee and there is luwak animal where you can touch and experience it they also give you sample coffees which you can taste it .

Wow! This place was amazing! Quick tour and explanation of coffee growing. We enjoyed sampling all the coffees and teas. Our Host, Martini, was wonderful. So sweet and helpful. She made the experience!!! We walked out with lots of coffee to bring home. Highly recommend this place while in Bali.

Amazing coffee (and I don't even love coffee) and views! My sisters went on the swing which they thought was really fun. The rest of my family also held the luwak whose poop is used to make the coffee! Wild stuff.

This was a really interesting stop on our adventures. A short run-down on the different coffees and how they are grown and produced. Followed by a tasting of various teas and coffees. Definitely taste before you visit the downstairs shop...you might be surprised at some of the delicious flavours on offer. The luwak coffee wasn't really all that tasty (weird as the beans smelt quite nice), but hey...I can say I tried it! Definitely worth a look!

My visit to this cafe was a truly nice experience! What I loved most was that I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. The free cafe and tea tasting were both informative and enjoyable. We ended up purchasing the Lowak coffee, and it was so good that we got some to go too. A relaxed and informative visit that I would recommend a visit to.

An absolute must! You can try a bunch of different teas and coffees (pandan/butterfly pea/mangosteen/red rice tea, coconut/ginseng/avocado coffee… and more) and they also sell of these (160/170k for 150grams). The most interesting coffee is of course their luwak coffee (civet coffee - 150k for 50grams) and we even got to pet one of their cute tamed pet civets.

Very beautiful place. It's a small temple we had the place to ourselves definitely worth a visit if your in the area. It's very well maintained and looked after.

A wonderful out of the way Temple definitely worth a stop. The caretakers are incredibly kind and gentle. As expected, knees showing is forbidden however they will gladly lend you a sarong. A donation is encouraged. Washrooms, vendors, etc nearby to meet needs. Parking free. The giant white laying Buddha reminds me of the giant golden and giant green Buddha’s in Vietnam.

Vihara with giant sleeping Buddha statue Located in Pupuan area, Tabanan. The Vihara is very nice, peaceful and so relaxing. At the entrance they put a donation box, so visitor can donate whatever amount of donation. If you come with short pant then they'll lend you a sarong for free. If you don't want donate then it's okay.... Inside the Vihara, there's a giant statue of sleeping Buddha, with very nice face. Place in the middle of wooden deck, surrounding by pretty scenery, very beautiful.... There's a notice to remind visitor, that if you want to pray then you can go inside the main room, but if not then it's you can just walk around..... It's a must visit when in that area.....

A Buddhist temple known for its divine huge sleeping Budha statue, located in Pupuan-Tabanan. The first floor of the vihara, there is a huge courtyard with many refreshing greenery, While on the second floor you will find the huge white sleeping Buddha Statue and further up to the third floor you will find another Buddha statue in a sitting position in a chamber made especially for worshippers. The Sleeping Buddha statue quite new, around four years and the only one in Bali. The monastery is old, but it was only inaugurated in 2007, It was said the Sleeping Buddha statue was made by a craftsman from Klungkung. in the Dharma Giri Pupuan Vihara area there is also a Buddha statue sitting on a circle of snakes and lotus flowers, with an umbrella of 7 cobra heads, the main place of the Dharma Giri Vihara is the altar of prayer for Buddhists, only those who will pray are allowed to enter the altar and must leave your foot wear outside. There is a shop there and there are many pigeons that happily to take the corn seed from your hand.

Location and pictures are deceiving. Google nos sent me to the other side which bike can not go, so I used my common sense to bike round me find the actual marked trail. Which picture is attached. Also attaching pictures of the real waterfall some people posted another one which has a similar name but n hour south. Be mindful of terrain, small bike can go through also confident drivers. If you’re a beginner rider or not confident I’d advice to prove bike at the 800m mark

Easy walk to lovely waterfall through well maintained farm land. The road to the waterfall goes through a beautiful little village.

Here you can find 3 separates Waterfall, with a quite long path for casuak trekking. But take a mote that in the rainy season the path can be quite cumbersome to deal with.

Nice waterfall with free access, pretty track to it (can be done with light motorbike but better to do it on foot). Be careful, watch local signs and don't trust Google map blindly, cause it will probably misguide you (as it did with me)

For us the route worked from google maps worked fine. Great waterfall, altough quite far trough the traffic from Denpasar and surroundings. Really quiet and beautiful ride trough the sawa's, with free entrance.

Tbh, this isn't a review rather a heads up. This waterfall can only be accessed by foot or motorbike. Several hours in a car and the mercury pushing 36 degrees and no drinking water with a 3 km return trip by foot... I'll come back another time better prepared. Super driver though, superb valley of rice fields with view of the damn.

We really enjoyed the hot springs here. We rented a private space for 4 adults and 3 kids, the size was nice. It would be nice if they provided fresh towels. Also some relaxing music would have been nice to enhance the experience. Afterwards we tried their restaurant which definitely needs improvement. Given 4 stars for the way the service is set up in nature but the facilities need better upkeep. It's definitely worth one visit. I had an accident a few days before we visited and had open wounds on my legs which healed rather quickly. Guessing the sulphur in the water helped.

As a foreigner we had to pay 50000 per person instead of the local price of 10000 for entry into the public pools. It was well worth it though! There are a number of pools to bathe in. A large cold pool up the top (which had too much chlorine), then a smaller warm pool, a hot spa and finally right next to the river is a hot natural pool with bubbles. This was our favourite by far as you are sitting in nature. We were lucky as it was really quiet when we were there and pretty much had it to ourselves. You can also pay for your own private pools if you like.

One of the hotsprings near Jatiluwih and Batukaru area, the access is pretty easy if you travel from Denpasar. I suggest to visit this place on the weekdays since it will be pretty crowded on weekend. You can rent a private room or use the public pool. The temperature of the water is not as hot as the other hotsprings located nearby and it was really great. You can’t bring your food from outside to this area, but you can definitely buy some from the restaurant inside and you can bring it to your private room.

Of the tourist trail.and it was amazing! Luxury spa for budget prices. Hot springs were amazing and just outside of the spa was an amazing walk thru rice fields and villages where tourists are rarely ever seen. If you are looking for a great experience away from the typical tourist trail, this is it.

Trekking Mt Batukaru from Jatiluwih. This mountain is the second highest in Bali. Only one opening after 45 min from the starting point, Pura Bhujangga Waisnawa. The rest is jungle with literally no view at all. On top resides Pura Pucak Luhur Kedaton, the center of five sacred temples in Bali. The track is rather difficult and takes 5-6 hours to reach it. Prepare carefully when you want to climb this mountain.

elavation gain 1.613m with distance from Batu Karu Temple to summit 5,77km (one way). the track is very challenging. terrain is mix, dry, wed & muddy. some hills are hard to climb especially for non fit people that not doing hiking or trail run regularly. please make sure you use the right shoes for hiking here. i always wear my trail run shoes that helps alot. bring enough water minimum 1.5 litter for your self. the weather is unpredictable. we were there when it was storm on the summit. it was alright at the beginning. in the PAL (half way from starting point) was started windy and light rain. on the summit the big wind start around 5.30am. if the weather good the view will be amazing. you must climb this mountain with local guide help. please makesure for women is it forbidden for you to climb during your menstruation period. the mountain are known as a mysterious and sacred. you will see many spot for pray on the way to summit and on the summit there is a holy temple. beautiful lush rain forest. there are many beautiful spots. the downhill is fun. no ballet/leech. but very challenging.

We came here (Jan 2024) but it was closed. Information on Google all said it was open. Extensive renovations going on. We were told it would be reopening in May. Would advise phoning to check before visiting.

I had very pleasant experience. It is small exebittion very good guided by passionate staff. Now I get much clearer picture of traditional crop growing and rice terraces has whole new meaning for me. It took me about 30 minutes, and price of 15000idr is fair. I found this gem by chance while waiting for a bus to Java.

Welcomed by ladies in the uniform and was asked to pay 10K per pax (local tourist). Then she escorted us to the nearby building functioned as a museum and started explaining things in details manners. How to start plant the rice, what tool the ancient farmer used to use, how many days it needs to be done etc etc. Last, she showed us a model of old Balinese village. All of this took about an hour. No modern visual, no written story, just listen to the details story from the lady herself (that is unfortunately, a bit plain and boring) After finished with the guided tour, we walked ourselves to the surrounding of the museum only to find that there is a real old traditional Balinese village standing there but it was locked 🤦‍♀️ Why showing the model/miniature when you actually have the real ones next to you? This place is a bit dissappointing, could have been much better than just tell the story with flat tone and boring look to the visitors

We visited here on our way to another spot. And the ladies were fantastic. Super friendly and lots of information. Would recommend for a visit to see traditional house and the museum and learn some history. Thank you

Lovely beach on the way to Balian! Not very crowded, very beautiful) Above there is a restaurant with a good view, along the long distance to the beach there is a museum Ogoh figures, but I myself have not seen them 😄 And there are rooms for rent, it is a few minutes from the beach) A little further there is a sacral cave of bats, there is a available to it at a great low tide.

I always loved this place...it's a quiet place..u can see in frot of the main road..and in the back yard is a beach it so peace full. The menu is so delicious, and U can reserved for big group..or just go whith your family and enjoy the view.. There's alot of toilet and a clean prayers room..love it 😘👍
