It's probably the best hotel in Darjeeling. Had a wonderful stay there. They have very nice and bright pastel shades and flower plants all over the hotel. Very courteous staff, great food and superior hospitality. Would love to visit again!

We stayed in the Campbell room. Beautifully appointed, cozy rooms.. a bit of a concern would be that these rooms may get very hot and stuffy during the summers (as temperatures nowadays are increasing to new highs). They have provided fans but if temperatures keep increasing that may not suffice. The rooms are very well decorated and they provide a wide range of teas, coffee, sodas, and snacks for the guests. I really appreciated how generous they are and the fact that they provide glass bottles for water. The hotel is gorgeous with lovely flowers all over the place. It's quiet (opposite the Governor's House) and a great place to see Darjeeling the way it used to be decades ago. It's a bright and colourful spot that is an easy 10 minute stroll away from the main Chowrasta at the Mall. There are viewpoints a minutes walk away and you can sit there and enjoy the mountain views and the elusive Kanchenjunga (if you visit in June). Their restaurant is fantastic with wide variety, great food, and excellent service. The management has done an amazing job with the way they have maintained the place and the way they make every guest's stay so comfortable... Would love to visit again!

I came here with my staff for a farewell party. The place is very beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff are so caring and they took care of all our needs. Food was delicious and we spent a beautiful time here. Garden is awesome 👌

Awesome place. My family had a long stay here and honestly speaking we enjoyed every moment spent in this hotel. The looks, the ambiance, staff, the location, the food, rooms, infrastructure, amenities, you name it and it was top class. The hospitality was superlative and this is one place I would recommend not only in Darjeeling but also in every part of the country wherever you can. It was a shame we couldn't book Mayfair while we were in Gangtok. I wish 7 stars could be given to the guys here. To make your trip memorable and if you've got kids, look no further. It was a wonderful place for us as a family. The property is well suited to keep the whole family comfortable. Kids have play room activities, for adults there is well equipped gym and spa facilities. Property is also located at walkable distance from Mall Road. Service was great and friendly.

Extremely wonderful experience. We had our small baby with us, the staff made sure that things are utmost comfortable and pleasant for us. The sunrise view that one can experience from here is beyond description...it can only be experienced and felt...n be mesmerized. Utter beautyl... beautiful Sunrays n the sky The enchanting view of Kanchenjunga...and then the magical hour ...when the rays hit the peak of Kanchenjunga... That was a truely magical moment. Definitely must visit!!! People start gathering here from mid night so that they can get themselves the best spot to experience this beauty. It gets tooo crowded as the sun is about to rise. Only if the place was well maintained ...it would have been very convenient and added more beauty to this experience. And yes do carry warm clothes as it will be freezing cold... We visited during winters and we almost froze watching that sun rise 😅 Definitely worth breaking your peaceful sleep to experience this magnificent view!

On the 17th November morning, at 4 AM, we set out for Tiger Hills. The usually sleepy town of Darjeeling was surprisingly up & about at this unearthly hour with hundreds of cars heading the same way, so much so, that we actually encountered traffic snarl-ups at that time. The driver left us at a point from which we had to walk for about 5 minutes on a rather steep slope. We could have driven up further but then, extracting ourselves from the parking chaos would have been very difficult. There is a building to your right, as you approach the viewing point. This is an unfinished building - 4 stories - but the viewing balconies have been set up by local entrepreneurs in the first two levels, complete with plastic chairs rented out ₹ 50 per chair. It's a long wait so we availed of the chairs and took our places facing East. Now, remember, you are not going there to see ONLY the sunrise but ALSO the snow-capped peaks changing hues as the sun shows it's face. Therefore, you need to keep an eye to your left as well, the North, where the peaks are. Try and sit as close to the NE corner of the viewing 'gallery' as you can for the best of both views. In the attached photos I have tried to capture how the skies AND the mountains change colour with the rising sun but nothing can possibly replicate what one's eyes behold. Getting back is a nightmare. There are nearly 700-800 cars, a thousand odd pedestrians trying to reach their respective vehicles and all within a pretty narrow road with a fairly steep slope. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Very cold, very steep climb, rather poor infrastructure (for viewing) but Nature has made up for all man's lacunae!

Loved the place. The sunrise observatory point. It's the main view point in Darjeeling to see the Kanchenjunga. Was bit crowded but still enjoyed the most. One of the best thing I ever experienced, as I never saw this before. The mesmerizing view is just flawless. Mother nature ❤ Month of February and March will be perfect. The early you come, you get the chance to park your car / taxi more close to the point. Orelse you have to walk up hill.

This is a must visit place if you're going to Darjeeling. You should wake up at 3 and leave around 3:30 to get the best spot. Due to popular tourist place, you may face rush to get the better spot. You can rent a chair for just Rs 50 and sip tea or coffee before embracing the sunrise lighting the kanchanjunga peak.

Important pointers: If you are an non local, then you are mostly an tourist over here. So if possible follow below points if this place is in your travel checklist. Tour operator/ Cab driver will call and inform you to be ready around 4 am. So you can get ready by 4am, ask the cab driver to take you directly to the top parking space and wait in the cab till 6am or so do checkout the surrounding once the it’s start getting sun rise. A must-visit place in Darjeeling. You will get an amazing view of the mountain Kanchenjunga and a glimpse of Mt. Everest. The drive from Darjeeling would approximately take an hour. Ensure to reach the spot by 5 AM to get parking and grab the best place for a serene view of the sunrise. If there is a delay in reaching the spot, it will be a hassle to find the parking, and you will have to park the vehicle 500 meters away from the view point. You will have to take a stroll to reach the view point, as the walk is steep. Do not forget to carry your winter gear.

Tiger Hill is famous for it's Scintillating views of tue himalayan mountain range. However, we couldn't get the view of the same as it was a very foggy day. The forest areas are quite dense, and this location has been used for shooting a lot of movies and series. Overall, it is a good place and worth visiting.

Good place to take out. The museum has many valuable assets. Many extinct animals have different skin and body parts that will surprise you. You will see various rich animals. Ticket price is one hundred rupees per person. Red pandas can be seen, snow leopards can also be seen.

We visited to see this place. This is the place of courage and world records. It consists of Artificial Rock Climbing, Museum which have all the things for climbers and mountaineers. Nice place.

No visit to Darjeeling can be complete without a visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Importantly it is in the same entrance to the Zoo and therefore its 2 birds with one stone. Nevertheless, it would be smart to take out at least a couple of hours to cover this place. About 1 hour 15 mins to buy tickets and experience and also learn a bit of Wall climbing, Rock climbing, zip climbing etc. The remaining 45 mins to cover the beautiful museum. Well for tourists who absolutely hate a museum they can also spend some time as it provides insights of the mountaineering gears, various expeditions taken by this institute and terrains of the Himalaya shown in amazing details. There is also a memorial of Padma Bhushan Tenzing Norgay that should not be missed out. I would also recommend the Mountaineering and Adventure film show that costs Rs30/- per person. The show timings are 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM and 4 PM. There is also a very nice Souvenir shop in front of the Museum and it has fantastic collections to take back home. Do give it a try too

The place is located inside the same campus of the Zoo cum Botanical Garden. It is one of the most interesting place to visit if you are a hiking and mountaineering endeavour. The place is very beautiful located amidst the natural beauty of Darjeeling hills. There is show facilities for tourists regarding mountaineering stories. But if you are not that interested in those activities, then its of no use visiting here. But You will definitely love the natural beauty & view around here. Thank You!

What a place!! Full of information. Got to learn a lot about mountaineering. Got to know about the tools and accessories used in rock climbing. Even about the history of who all have climbed the Mount Everest till date.

This place is a must visit, if you are staying in darjeeling. The zoo is well kept and has many different animals, including of course the red panda. The mountaineering museum is also definitely worth a visit. I especially liked the comparison they showed between different eras of climbing and how the gear progressed.

It was interesting seeing all the climbing gear used over the years; I also enjoyed seeing a lot of mountaineering artifacts they've collected. Unfortunately several of the exhibits are broken. I also found many spelling mistakes and incorrect facts in the material; they really should get a professional to proof read and fact check their exhibits before their put them on display for the public.

One of most well maintained and beautiful zoo. This place has no age boundaries, you will love it. Must visit if you are planning your darjeeling trip.

It shares many stories about mountaneers and their success. In the museum there is a lot to see. There is also a play area for indoor hill climbing and other adventures. All activities together per head is 210rs. It is located at the very end of the Zoological park. Remains and history of many adventures to the mount. Everest. It clearly shows the mountains, hillsand the rivers in the Himalayan range in models. Specimens of many Himalayan birds and animals were there too.

The Animal Zoo is amazing! The animals there are incredible, and the environment feels just like their natural homes🌿. And let me tell you, the black panther is a rare sight to see! It's so majestic and beautiful. The zookeepers take great care of all the animals, making it a safe and friendly place. Don't miss out on visiting this zoo if you're in Darjeeling!🌷

Wonderful place at Darjeeling showcasing detailed information about all the mountain ranges in India and Nepal. Also all the Mountaineers who have climbed Mount Everest till date can be seen here . Trekking and Hiking activities are also open for Tourist . Overall a wonderful place to spend some quality time, either alone or wid friends.

A place where u can learn mountaineering... For tourists, they have a museum where u can experience all kinds of equipment used by Mountaineers during their expectations... Except that Dress & equipment used by Tenzing Norge and many famous mountaineers, are preserved here.. U can learn the location of each & every important peak and rivers of the Himalayas from a life size model.. The museum has its own cafeteria and souvenir shop here... Recently wall climbing, zip line and many more activities also started here... As it is situated inside Padmaja Nehru Zoo, ticket price is included in the main ticket & photography is strictly prohibited inside the museum building...

The trip entails a long walk. The animals in the zoo looked sad and drowsy. You can get mementos and warm clothings from the nearby shops. Towards the end of the road there is a cafe worth its coffee.

Situated inside the Darjeeling zoo this place is difficult to find. Though a large amount of people visit the zoo a limited population visits this institute and the museum inside it. Mountaineering enthusiasts and history buffs would love this place. The institute offers various courses on mountaineering and details can be obtained from their website. The museum houses the original equipments used by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hilary during the first ever ascent of the mount Everest. It also has iconic pictures and can educate one on the evolution of mountaineering equipments.

The beautiful Buddhist monastery and Peace Pagoda is located near the top of the Jalapahar Hill, about 2 km from the Darjeeling Clock Tower. We are lucky that it was open while our stay in Darjeeling in first week of October. The pagoda had beautiful gold plated sculptures of the Buddha in various postures and murals depicting some of the events in his life. Mesmerizing view, serene peace and awesome place with tall pine trees and rhododendron bushes just beginning to flower, and with the majestic Kanchenjunga mountains as the backdrop. A must visit place in Darjeeling. What really enhances this place, and adds joy, is in the upper prayer hall of the nearby temple building. If you are lucky your visit will coincide with the chanting of prayers, and drumming.

Peace Pagoda Temple is a Japanese Buddhist temple situated in the middle of dense forests of Darjeeling. It houses the different incarnations of Buddha. It has a golden color statue of Gautama Buddha inside it. One can pay a visit to this sacred shrine throughout the year. People of all faiths visit Peace Pagoda frequently. It was a very long ride. It was good as it takes only up to 6 people in one go. So everyone can comfortably sit and enjoy. They have some nice restaurants and tea garden at the other end of the ropeway and we can come back after spending time at the gardens. The view is very nice and we get time to enjoy the view during the ride.

Great view from the cable cars. The tea gardens and surrounding areas with houses and mountains offer an eye catching view. The ticket counter opens at 10:30. Be sure to be there at 8am to avoid rush. I reached 8:30 and was behind 15 people.

My first impression when I visited is the long queue, shortage of cart, less professional approach, no QR code payment facility. Overall a mess is running through. Mass improvement required. I went there with my parents at 9 o'clock in the morning and got the ticket at 10:45 AM and rode the ropeway at 12:45 PM. Hope all can understand what the situation has been there. I eagerly say to all, don't visit if you have already ridden the ropeway before.

This is one of the longest Rope way we had in our travel so far. It takes through approximate 5 kilometers to and fro . Had fun. Good to visit here. Children would enjoy . It ride through the top of team gardens ... A nice experience.

This ride is nice over the tea garden, small villages, open areas etc. Overlooking the nice peaks of Himalaya. The only pain point is the long queue. Try to reach before 11am latest to make it faster. It can take 1-3 hrs depending on the day.

Nice place and the views from the ropeway cable cars are very nice but you have to wait for a very long time. Should reach the place by 8.30 a.m. in order to be closer to the ticket counter which opens at 10.30 a.m. If possible, try and get tickets in advance to avoid the huge queue for tickets. The whole ride is about 5 kms and takes approximately 45 mins to complete.

The experience was normal. I have been on ropeways at Manali, Mussouri, and Gulmarg as well. Compared to them, this wasn't that great with views of only tea gardens. And on top of it, you have to stand in queue for at least 2-3 hours before to get your chance. Overall, I will say instead of going for ropeway, utilize the time for visiting places nearby.

hello everyone, wanted to share the experience in darjeeling .... awesome . we juz took a local taxi from mall road , costs 500 rupees for one way. we Reached that place and stood in a queue for 5 hrs , tickets for cable car costs only 260 rupees. there is no way of advance booking , be alert !!! . after standing 5hrs , the view is worth it.. tha cable car line stretches 2.5 km up n down. you can take photos in a tea valley there , wearing their traditional dresses. ** only 255 seats per day in a cable car. so jaldi jana in the morning...

Just a normal ropeway. Stood in ticket counter for 1.5 hr. The. for ropeway wagon entry 2.5 hrs. The view were average. Wated whole day for this. Not worth. Minimum 5hrs time required for visit. Better go with Gangtok Ropeway.

Small carriages. You may have to wait 1-2 hours to get on-board. But the small village destination is great to spend some times in the cafes with good views.

Loved the ropeway experience. If you are traveling solo you only have to be in the long queue for tickets but if you are in a group then you have to wait in a long queue after buying the tickets. Combining both can take up to 3-4 hrs for groups .

This place is very good for rope traveling in Darjeeling as a side seeing point. But try to come in April to July for the shocking experience of nature's beauty. Rangeet valley tea garden is on the tour. Up and down cost - 230 to 260/- per person. One way tickets are also available here. Ticket counters open from 9:30 to 12:00 only and rope runs from 16:30 to 17:00 only.

We visited the roop way on the dt of 01.01.2024. waiting time 3hrs to 4hrs kindly go 6 o clk in the morning time for quick ticket booking. The ticket price for darjeeling ropeway is Rs 260 per head for adults and Rs 100 per head for child (3 to 8 years). There is no charges applicable for darjeeling cable car ride for children under 3 years of age. While the duration of the actual ropeway experience is 45 minutes to an hour, there is a long line of tourists queued up to experience this prime attraction. It is advisable to go earlier in order to minimise waiting time.

Superb ride and place I recommend to anyone who visit Darjeeling. In fact it’s more worthy than the toy train ride which doesn’t offer any good feel other than boarding a small train. This valley offers best views and real feel of visiting Darjeeling aerial view through rope way! Pls ensure not to throw any litter while travelling and enjoy! The only drawback is waiting time which is more than an hour, but believe me it pays back.

The Darjeeling tea industry it’s in the doldrums. Some estates treat their workers appallingly, and the government neglects the road infrastructure. During winter, there is very little activity on the tea Estates, but at least Happy Valley put on a tea tasting . They should train their staff, too, explain more about their operation, even if it is not working . In 2024, there is a drought looming and So tea production will likely decline . If you love Darjeeling tea, I suggest you buy some before becomes unavailable.

One of the most pleasant and refreshing places to visit in Darjeeling. Happy Valley is just a 20-30 minute walk from Mall Road, or from the main taxi stand. You can even get taxis until there as it won't cost you too much. The tea gardens are beautiful to look at and have a gentle soothing aroma too. The factory has a guided tour for just ₹100, the guide takes you through the entire process of making tea from tea leaves with a testing of 6 different varieties in the end. If you go during spring or autumn, when the harvesting is in process, you will get to see the machines at work during the tour too. Don't forget to take a stroll around the tea gardens through the narrow foot trails too! The cafe outside has a very polite host and some nice snacks you can have.

It is also known as Chitrakut bazaar. As you park your car from no.15 parking via steps you reach the entrance of the valley. Overlooking the mountains for a second your breathe quickens crossing the thought- wow. Here you should remember one thing, steps are too steep too slippery so every step you should watch where you are laying your feet. There are corners facing the valley, there standing you get a better picture of the whole place. Green step cut tea leaves, mountains and houses in between. In between mist crosses and clears. A long walk on the path laid towards the end of the valley, gives you breath taking views. There are lot of eateries plus people giving local costumes to wear for rent. The costume where you hold a basket for collecting teas is very famous. A great spot filled with best lush greenery. As you come out, there are small shops selling tea, tea powder and local fruits plus momos. A place for nature lovers where I feel you could never get this much if beauty anywhere.

We went to the happy valley tea estate expecting to get lovely tea at prices lower than the market. But no. The prices were equally high. The employees were sweet and they gave us a nice tour. They charge an entry fee of Rs 100 which is not adjusted against the purchases and also it has to be in cash. Even the tea they sell, they expect cash. Though they took card and didn’t give receipt. The place and the factory, however, is nice and a change from the city crowd.

Can spend some time in the tea estate. There is shop with charge 100 per cloth and for other accessories. Also at the entrance there are number of shops for tea. You can drink some teas and purchase tea powder. Be alert they will provide good quality leave for tea to drink and at the time of purchase they provide the low quality one .

We visited this place as part of our tour itinerary. Must visit if you are visiting Darjeeling. It is a tea-making factory where specimens of old equipments used for making tea are well preserved. It also acts as a retail outlet where you can purchase different varieties of tea e.g. white tea, green tea, black tea, etc. The staff explained to us the entire process of tea making in a very crisp & lucid manner. But when we visited the place all the workers had gone for lunch & we were unable to see the actual process.

It is the nearest tea estate of Darjeeling city. It is the second oldest Tea estate in Darjeeling district, still you can find the tea tree of one and half a century old. They are expert in orthodox tea, you can test different type of tea in there tea boutique. Ticket price to watch tea boutique and factory is Rs 100, it will open at 9 a.m. If you want you can walk down to see the tea estate properly, at the end of road there is last village, only 17 family live there.

We went there mid March before the first harvest of the season started, so no production yet. We did a small tour for only INR 100 per person of the building and went around the tea plantation afterwards. The staff was nice and we had a small tasting afterwards. The plantation was unfortunaly full of garbage everywhere you go, so not really serene.

Ghum monastery is also known as yiga choeling monastery. It's a Buddhist monastery. One of the oldest and well known monastery in darjeeling. Located near batasia area. Daily prayers arranged by Buddhist lamas. Main temple is located in basement section.

The Yiga Choeling or Old Ghoom Monastery, located at an elevation of 8,000 feet, is Darjeeling's oldest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. This shrine, founded in 1850 by Lama Sherab Gyatso, is part of the Yellow Hat sect known as Gelupka, which worships the 'Coming Buddha' or 'Maitreyi Buddha'. In the middle chamber is a 15-foot-tall figure of Maitreyi Buddha made completely of clay transported from Tibet. This statue was erected during the tenure of the monastery's second head, Lama Domo Geshe Rinpoche. There are also several rare Buddhist manuscripts on the site. Outside the monastery, visitors are treated to a stunning vista of the towering Kanchenjunga. The resident monks fly prayer flags in the traditional Tibetan manner. @pajamatraveller

The Ghoom monastery must be the cleanest & calmest place I found in Darjeeling. Beautiful place at hills lap. Clear views of mountains. Floating clouds all around the monastery just makes it mesmerising. The buddha murti so handsomely made. You are not allowed to take photos inside the monastery. But you can still capture photo from outside the restricted zone.

This is NOT Darjeeling. You talk to a local driver or a car hire center and they'll offer you with 5 or 7 or 11 etc. points to take you to. This is one of those aimless and bizarre points. And believe me, most of those points are absolutely nothing. Mountains have their own majestic presence and tourist spots have nothing to do with that other than spending money on car hire agents. This is part of a tea garden where people are allowed to take snaps (no garden owner ever stops tourists to take photographs unless you harm their trees) . They have camera persons to take photo - along with facility to give red and blue attire of tea-plucking workers (I don't know any worker who decorate themselves with such uniform). It's a HOAX: there are shops selling tea - they give you cups to have a taste and will ask you to buy tea. Most of the time, the shop owners don't talk to you directly and drivers go on telling you how good those sellers are. Drivers will always make a point like the shops sell the best tea in the area in a much lesser price. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. If you want to have a cup of tea, have it and leave. One of the best tea garden in Darjeeling. Popularly known as Happy Valley Tea estate. it is Darjeeling's second oldest tea estate. Spread over 440 acres, it is situated at a height of 2,100 metres (6,900 ft) above sea level. It is situated in the heart of the city. Very good picture friendly area. If passes taken from authority, you can visit the tea factory in side the garden.

Darjeeling is famous for its Tea Gardens. Wonderful experience in the lap of nature. Special privilege as the rains arrived just as we reached the Gardens. Soaked in the beauty of the rains and the winds, with umbrellas in hand and the slopes out of steps, makes it an amazing encounter. In the middle of the Tea Gardens, the beauty is worthwhile. Friendly local vendors sell fresh tea leaves. And to top it all, we have the unpredictable atmosphere of Darjeeling.

The view was good and they had costumes for women(tea workers). They charged Rs 50 per costume and then you could click pics with Kanchenjunga in backdrop (on clear day). We visited in Nov end and they had done cutting of the bushes, therefore they were not as green

To visit tea gardens you will need to park your vehicle in front of one the of shops available there with numbers. From their shop you can enter to the tea gardens. Very beautiful place it is. You can click photos and videos. Also, you can wear their traditional dresses which are available their on rent for 50 Rs. and click pictures with background of tea garden and Kanchenjunga mountains. After returning back you can try their special darjeeling tea in the same shop where you have parked your car. If you like it then you can also buy the Darjeeling Tea pack as a souvenir. About my experience, the same tea pack I bought from the shop but after returning back to home when I prepared tea using that tea powder, it is no way tasting same as what we tasted that time in the shop 😂 which was quite funny. I don’t know if I did not make it in right way or shopkeeper gave me different pack of tea. So be aware.

What a beautiful place this is! Clouds, hills, tea everything is just enthralling. The tea trees look so mesmerising. You are able to climb down through the valley of tea trees. You can hire the traditional dress for clicking photos over here. There are numerous stalls selling tea, but I will say try not to buy from here.

This place is my most favorite place in Darjeeling! I wish had a place like this and I would've come here every evening for passing some time and have a fresh cup of Darjeeling Tea!! First ever in my life I witnessed how tea is grown and we bought a lot of local tea produce as well. Darjeeling is famous for its tea and you can support the local people by purchasing the tea from the vendors. If you ask my Personal opinion I did not liked this place at all. This is Tea Garden view, but you can't go inside a Tea Garden.. only to a designated are ( which is full of Tourist, taking Snaps wearing Colorful clothing). Also The Taxi driver will take you to a local tea shop where you can taste and buy tea( high Price alert !!) .. literally its a waste of Time and Money..I will not suggest this place to anyone...

Beautiful view. hardly 10 mints from mall road. you must try milk tea in nearest stall. i bought tea leaf at 150 rps. darjeeling tea leaf gives you a lit bit flavour ( our assam tea leaf don't) but i love my assam😌 but this is also a good place for visit.

The view is very nice as you can see a part of Sikkim - Gangtok and pelling from here and also you can taste the tea before buying from the shops but greenery wise I felt it's a little dimmed. You have to go downstairs and go within the tea garden leaving the path / trail is not allowed. Parking space (beside the road) and washroom is there.

This is my first time in any tea garden. I didn't visit any tea garden earlier in Bangladesh. So, when we were hired by the taxi and the taxi driver proposed to visit a tea garden I was just excited. The distance from Darjeeling city to Tea garden is almost 5-7 kilometres. There is also a tea stall and souvenir shop. You can enjoy a cup of tea inside a tea garden.

This temple is one of the recommended places to visit in Darjeeling.. Mahakal Temple is located behind the Chowrasta and encircled by the Mall Road on the ridge of Darjeeling town. The approach is an uphill narrow road about 100 yards from the Mall and is accessible by foot only.. The main Mahakal temple is devoted to Shiva and it witness devotees from all sections of society and religions most visiting the temple for both leisure or pilgrimage . Bells and hundreds of colorful prayer flags line the up-hill walk and the shrine.

We were eager to visit the Mahakal Temple as it was one of the highly recommended tourist attractions in Darjeeling and marked as a must visit. From the Darjeeling Mall road, one takes the right hand side road. There are local shops on the road selling designer items to woolen clothes. As the Temple is located on top of the observatory hill the way to the mandir is a narrow uphill road which feels quite steep at times. The road is inundated with monkeys so keep some loose food items to give to them, The Temple feels so serene. One can feel the spiritual bliss and offer their prayers to the almighty. It will fill your heart. We stayed there for some time, had Prasad and took our downhill climb thereafter. All in all it was beautiful experience and would highly recommend.

One of the powerful Shiva Temples 500 metres. from the Great Darjeeling Mall on NCC Road. towards Governor's House, a steep Road that leads to Temple on the hill top. Besides Shiva Idol there are other temples Mother Kali, Ramji, Ganeshji and Hanumanji. As per local belief this Mahakaal who actually looks after these residents against all odds and natural disasters esp.earthquake and avalanche.

Extremely peaceful and must must must visit place in Darjeeling. I went here on 1st Jan and it was such a resplendent experience. They even had bhog which consisted of Khichudi luchi aloo dum payesh and suji’r halwa. It was mouth watering tasty.

This place is really good. However, as always the cleanliness is not maintained. One can find people taking bath in the water fall and using soaps. Car is needed to reach the place and one has to climb in the hills to reach the top. It is difficult for elderly people to go the top.

Nice place to visit with your family and children. But water is very dirty there. To much crowd. Need to much energy to get on top. There are two water falls nearby. Enjoy with your family. Food and bear was available all around there. It's open there to drink and smoke. You could go with your friends to enjoy your trip.

The Rock Garden (also known as Barbotey Rock Garden) at Chunnu Summer Falls and Ganga Maya Park are One of the Best site seeing point in Darjeeling.. The garden is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Darjeeling. While proceeding from the town along Hill Cart Road, one has to turn right, well before reaching Ghum. The road descends rapidly into the valley. With sharp bends all the way, there are scenic views at many points. Tea gardens dot the hill slopes. Constructed by the Gorkha Hill Council Tourism Department, this garden offers a beautiful view of a hill stream cascading over rocks along the slope, done up with flower gardens and sitting spaces at different levels. There also is a small lake. With tourists pouring in large numbers, tea shops and snack kiosks have come up. Entry fee : Rs 20 Per Person

This is a park-like place. The place is so beautiful 😍. If you are for a tour in Darjeeling but don't come here you are missing the beauty. 🏔️ {‼️But as you know most People have no manners. They can throw everything everywhere. ‼️They made this waterfall and surroundings full of plastic wests.} The benches are too old & broken as you go up hill.

It's lower altitude than darjeeling town. Artificially modified waterfalls by many steps. You can go Higher by walking. 20 inr ticket price. You can find food stalls just outside. You may have to wait in line to use public toilet. Good relaxing view outside. You can take photos wearing local dresses.

Very nice waterfall near Darjeeling town. The road was OK, but the panoramic view on the was was really impressive. Very nice place to spent time with green nature. One can also climb little uphill along the waterfall. It is also a very good place for kids.

Bloomfield waterfall point is located a bit away from the Darjeeling town itself. The roads are stiff but adventurous which can provide immense pleasure while driving.

A very beautiful place to trek, Puja and Love. The Coronation Bridge was constructed in 1937-41 to honour the coronation of King George-VI and Queen Elizabeth. Designed by PWD Darjeeling, John Chambers. Constructed by Gammon India. The bridge has a steel arch design, its deck is built of steel girders and its arches are supported by concrete piers. There are two lanes on the bridge, and both vehicles and pedestrians can use them. It serves as a crucial connection between Siliguri and Darjeeling and the rest of India’s northeastern states. Please carry water bottles and dry fruits or you may face difficulties of getting such things. Weather is great, dry and cool. If you travel in winter please carry proper cloths. One of the finest arch bridges of North India and North Bengal. Crosses the mighty Teesta river and connects North East India with the Plain land. This bridge is very simple and looks majestic. Timely repairs are done with care.

Visited this museum during my visit on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR/Toy Train) from Darjeeling to Ghum (Ghoom) and while it is a small museum, the presentation of the information regarding the history of the Toy Train was well organised and detailed. And just outside the museum was a train or two in display so that was also a nice touch and it was a good place to look around and wait before the Toy Train departed back to Darjeeling.

Ghum Railway Museum takes you to old days when you enjoyed Railway rides.. Old Railway phones, Signals, Some old documents, you can see here.. Main thing is that photography is allowed here.. You can visit here while taking toy train ride or also you can visit solo.. Toy train stops here for 20minutes.. Entry is free..

This is a really good spot. It's infront of ghum ghum railway station. You will have nice time there . The entry fee will be 20 rs.

This museum Is located on the ghum railway station which showcases the history of Himalayan railways which includes the old engines, signal system and many more. There is no need to buy a separate ticket for this museum as it is included in the toy train ticket. 10-15 minutes are sufficient for it.

It houses among many pictures the British days of railway and the architecture and engineering concepts are also explained. Physical equipment and models of trains are also in the museum.

This is the newest museum in Darjeeling inaugurated on 2nd July 2015 by revered Tibetan guru Gurung Tulku Nima Hoiser Rinpoche. The timing was so chosen to coincide with the 80th birthday celebration of Dalai Lama. The museum is located on Gandhi road and within easy walking distance from the town center (i.e. the clock tower area). As the name suggests, the museum is mainly about the Tibetan community although it has several exhibits and artifacts of other communities along the Himalayan belt as well.

Himalayan Tibet Museum is a newly inaugurated museum in Darjeeling that was built in the year 2015. It was built by Tibetan guru Gurung Tulku Nima Hoiser Rinpoche to mark the 80th birthday of H.H Dalai Lama. It is a must-see site in Darjeeling, especially for the ones that wish to gather knowledge about the Tibetan Buddhism from the core.Due to its location in the heart of the city, Himalayan Tibet Museum is well-connected by the roadways and railways.Fare is only 50 rupees. I am mentioning some of It's important pieces viz Potala Palace Model, statue and detail of Three great Ancestral religious kings,tibetan medical system, Guru Padmasambhava,diamond sutra text(hand written with gold ink),white tara statue, his holiness Dalai Lama details etc etc. Curator Nisha Jigme MAM is so well-behaved and polite. She is such a respectful gentle woman I have ever seen.It is a must visit place in darjeeling. Walking distance from Caventers.

The museum is very well Maintained n it’s really good !! Lot of good collections are kept ! When I visited they told me inside photographs are not allowed

This museum is so amazing.. Its just some steps ahead of the famous Kunga Restaurant. Its full of beautiful artworks, Vajrayana idols, and much more. The hospitality is incredible, curator Nisha maam is very friendly and loving person.

Walk straight away from Darjeeling mal keeping keventers and glenerys at your right side you will find this place ... Not a crowdy place to visit essence of Tibet culture in every corner of this museum can be felt .... Antique pictures instruments, information about tribes , deities, art culture ... There is a show about different aspects of Tibet culture do visit this place before 5:30 PM ... You can collect agarbatti sticks many books upon Tibet culture from here... A very enjoyable evening can be spent... Most importantly the place is information stuffed so keep time in hand to read each and every information board provided with antiques.. This destination could be a good one to spend your quality time during your visit to Darjeeling locality... The day you kept for exploring the local sightseeing.

One of the best museum preserving indo- Tibetan Buddhist culture of India

It was an amazing experience. While from the outside it doesn't look too much like your average museum - its interiors have been completely modified detailing all historical and cultural items the Tibetans used as well showing the entire history of Tibet up to the modern time including the present day. The basement contains an audiovisual section which describes the journey of the Dalai Lama. The visual section was closed off as very few people were present as of now . The ticket price is Rs. 50 per adult which is reasonable. The museum also contains a miniature replica of the Potala Palace as well as a physical replica of the Tibetan landscape. Absolutely recommended to visit. The staff is also very friendly

Nice little museum, collecting history and artifacts, taking you through time and Tibetan culture, good to learn some key facts. A beautiful and educational display on Tibetan culture. Includes artefacts given by the Dalai Lama, an informative exhibit of Tibetan Medicinal Herbs, several detailed dioramas, a photo essay of the current Dalai Lama, and a fabulous Sand Painting, which I was told created by a delegation from Dharamsala that offers a blessing to all who view it. This museum is situated approximately 300 meters away from RINK Mall. Photography is allowed free inside. There was a lot of information about Tibetan society inside this museum.

Recently I went to Darjeeling and I am visiting Darjeeling for the first time. I stayed in a hotel on Gandhi Road and before reaching Darjeeling I found this Himalayan Tibet Museum in Google which is situated near my hotel, on Gandhi Road. I kept this Museum at the bottom of the Darjeeling travel list . On the last day of my stay in Darjeeling , my cab was 2 hours late and I thought of spending my time by visiting this Museum . This place is a hidden gem. It's not so popular , but this museum should be popular . It has a huge collection of Tibetan artefacts, photos, history artefacts , etc. It contains informative articles, interesting information, and colourful statues . The museum also puts light on the culture of Nepal, Bhutan, Ladakh region and north eastern region of India. The museum has two stories. The collection includes pictures, arts, books, etc., to depict the geography, culture of Tibet. A 3 dimensional depiction of the Himalayas and the location of Tibet is one of the attractions of the museum. The lower storey of the museum has the full information about the Dalai Lama. This is a must visit in Darjeeling. The colors inside this museum are mesmerising . Apart from learning a lot of things about Tibetan culture and history , The environment is enthralling. Ticket price is very nominal . This place doesn't have dedicated parking. You have to find a parking spot on the adjacent road . Please visit this place . It should be on your unmissable list .

The staff at the reception is very friendly, 45 mins to an hour is a must at this amazing place to know about the culture, history and tradition of Tibet. The souvenir shop at the basement has a great collection of authentic Tibetan items. It's very near to Darjeeling Chowrasta and is a must visit place to anyone who is interested in the Tibet.
