So this review will primarily address the Battleship USS Missouri tour. Arrived at Pearl Harbor National Park around noon on Friday and walked through security to purchase 2 tickets. No issues. If you have a military or veteran ID present it for a discount. Discount is only for the individual holding the card. Drove to the Battleship on Ford Island (ensure you can do that as the Island is actively guarded and has restricted access, if not no biggie as there is a nice air-conditioned bus to take you). We walked to the entrance. Go to the end, basically where the ship is, and turn left. Past the concession stands there is another checkpoint to enter the ship. They will take your picture there and then you proceed to the ship. If you want buy a bottle of water at one of the stores and you can bring it along otherwise no food and beverages are allowed. As we boarded a volunteer group informs you of a free guided 3 stop tour. We opted for the tour and enjoyed it greatly. Price seemed expensive but the experience was unique, educational, and fun. Highly recommend if you have the time.

Very touching, seeing where the attack happened, seeing the museum was a good experience as well. Definitely suggest watching the movie they have, by where you line up to go see the ship, BEFORE going out to see the battleship Arizona. It gets you really into the sensation of what happened that day, and shows real footage of the attack. It also gives you some of the back story of why it happened. It was also great to see the Missouri as well. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience to see where WW2 started for us, and to also see where it ended for us, all in the same place.

Beautiful memorial and powerful experience. We accidentally did the boat ride to the Arizona memorial before going through the museum, I would recommend going through the museum first so it is more significant. NOTE: they do NOT allow any bags in and it is $7 to check a bag! Wish I had known this beforehand because we had to walk all the way back to the car in the rain

It was a special and solemn moment to step foot on the memorial. To see the harbor from the boat ride facilitated by the US Navy to the memorial was a lot to take in. If you plan to visit please be respectful as this is the finally resting place for many and you never know who has connections to those who have passed since many come often to pay their respects and visit. It’s free to go to the memorial site but please note it does get busy so it best to go earlier like anything in Oahu. Don’t forget to visit the other sites like the USS Bowfin or the aviation museum. A lot of history is here and if you are an American it is one of few places where we’ve ever been attacked. For me learning about it in a classroom versus actually being there was so different. I hope you find your visit as enriching as it was for me to learn about US history on another level.

Bucket list trip. Gorgeous, serene setting. Very moving at times, knowing what happened here and that I was standing over the remains of over 900 lost souls. After a short boat ride across the harbor from the visitors center, you have about 12-15 minutes on the memorial, so be quick in taking your pictures and paying your respects.

Another to say if you have questions ask. Let's see if I'm able to assist. You do not have to buy all the tickets at one price. You can buy tickets as you go. You're only saving 1$ if you get the whole package. I only did the Mighty Mo and the Arizona Memorial. I skipped the Aviation and the Bowfin Sub. You must prepare for an all day deal. This very informative tour gave me a deeper understanding of what happened at Pearl Harbor. Highly recommend to RSVP in advance and arrive extra early to see the movie and walk through the museums. The movie itself was worth the price of admission. Gave me so much insight into many details of that dreadful day in our history. It’s a very emotional experience! Make sure to get in line no sooner than 15 min before your scheduled ferry ride to the USS Arizona. Sit on the left side of the boat for great picture taking. Seeing the USS Arizona from above the memorial is breathtaking. I have a new appreciation for our fallen soldiers. God bless America.

Great experience, probably what impressed me (besides the history of what happened in Pearl Harbor) is that there's oil coming out, you really can see it and smell it. The place is very very small, it is a quick walk. Of course it is a memorial so, not sure why people take small kids here, I would go to the Missouri boat with them instead

Pearl Harbor is a must see. We bought our Arizona tickets the day before at 3pm and a passport for the rest onsite. Make sure you're logged in a few minutes before, tickets are gone within seconds. Look over the edge of the Missouri and you'll likely see turtles. The food across from the Missouri is really good! The shave ice was a nice treat on a hot day. You aren't allowed to bring in any bags but we carried our things through and then bought a reusable bag at the gift shop for $3 to carry phone/waterbottle/charger etc.

We went on the weekend, and we were able to get on standby. We got in line at 7:30, the first boat went out at 8:00, and the standby line was a little long so we didn’t get on until the 8:15 boat—not bad! The Arizona is at eternal rest and tells her story of that fateful day in silence. It is moving and extremely educational. I recommend that you watch the several movies put together that explain the tensions leading into the event and the happenings during and after the invasion. The memorial visit is free, however, the parking is $7. Also, no handbags or dogs are allowed. You can carry clear bags into the memorial.

This was such a memorable visit. The tour is so delicately done. It was fascinating, albeit heart breaking, seeing the vessels in the water and where it all happened. We had to visit the submarine and the museum too which were fantastic too.

What a humbling experience! A definite must see if you are on Oahu. Short introduction/informational video at the beginning, then a boat shuttles you to the USS Arizona memorial. Limited to 45 minutes on the memorial itself. Be respectful of those who lost their lives here!!! Back on lane, there is another memorial along the harbor and museums too. This part of the park is free entry with a $7 parking fee.

Clean, beautiful, interesting. I would say you need to make this an all day trip since there is so much to see and read in order to understand the history of Pearl Harbor. Would love to go back some day and take my children here (I guess I took one since I was pregnant at the time of visiting this place).

Beautiful place for sure but you need a whole day to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Aviation and battleship Missouri requires to take a shuttle to the respective museums and it takes a bit for you to get there and back. So don't try to cover it in a few hours or you will be left unfulfilled. Every place is amazing in itself with loads of history and life lessons. Submarine humbles you for the challenges people serving have to undertake. Tiny bunks and an enormous vessel. All in all, a MUST visit to know the tragedy and still feel the effects of it.

We arrived about 8:30 am, visited the Bowfin for an hour before doing our separately scheduled tour to the USS Arizona Memorial at 9:45. We were advised by others to catch the shuttle next to make sure we had time to see both the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum. Glad we followed that guidance. We finished with the museum at the Memorial and Gift Shop just as they were closing at 4 pm. It was a wonderful day! I loved the somber, reverent atmosphere and the opportunity to remember the sacrifices made by many.

Such a somber, heartbreaking, yet beautiful monument for those lost in the Pearl Harbor attacks. Our tour group arrived early and that’s something I highly recommend. We were able to take it in before it got real busy with people. Witnessing the raising of the flag and the national anthem was absolutely moving. That occurred at 8:50 or 9am if I remember correctly. I recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time to guarantee that you will get to take the fairy to the USS Arizona. Otherwise you’re on standby and my understanding is that they only take a certain number of groups out there. My Mom had the wonderful idea to bring our fresh lei flowers (off the string, of course) to leave at the memorial for those still entombed in the USS Arizona. They have done a beautiful job of honoring the service men that fought for our country and died so tragically.

Tickets are only sold in advance, and you can not bring any bags inside. All bags must be checked for$7 each. The Pearl Harbor Memorial is an amazing place of beauty, sadness, and a sense of peace. It is very tranquil and not a good place for children who want to run around or adults who want to create a scene. When visiting, please be respectful and remember it is a cemetery for thousands of people that have served out country

This is a nice memorial. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I reserved a free timed ticket online to see the USS Arizona Memorial, which is only accessible by boat. The boat boarding process was quick and straightforward, and the memorial was beautiful. It’s an architectural marvel, especially because it floats above the wreckage, portions of which you can see from the memorial. There’s a movie shown here about the Pear Harbor attack and the causes behind it, which was quite fascinating. There are exhibits about the attack and one about radar technology used during the attack and how it differed from the radar technology of today, which was very interesting. There’s a submarine and battleship you can visit here for a fee. I gave this national memorial five stars because it has interesting exhibits and did an excellent job memorializing the tragedy that occurred here.

As a history buff, this was very interesting. We did the USS Arizona tour as well, and that was fantastic, the ranger was incredibly informative and offered so much insight into what we were seeing. The boat ride over is very calm, not choppy, easy to handle and there are good ramps to get on and off the boat. Many of the details of the attack we did not learn in school, and it was incredible to see and learn about the space where this all happened and read first-hand accounts. Would be nice to have a better welcome at the entrance to know which experience required additional ticketing and possibly a map, none of which was offered to us.

The Pearl Harbor Bus Tour was an unexpected gem of a tour.   This tour presents a less common and perhaps more balanced perspective regarding the events of the attack on Oahu the day of December 7th, 1941.  Our NPS Ranger and tour guide, Jason, was very knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate about the factual history of what transpired with the Utah and the Oklahoma as well as other important and lesser‐known ships and the crew members who were lost that day.  Jason's compassion for the lost servicemen was incredibly moving and his presentation was captivating.   If you visit Pearl Harbor, please consider this amazing, no-cost 90-minute tour (service fee of $1 per ticket).

This is an amazing place to visit while in Hawaii. It was definitely in my bucket list. I loved it. So maintained and peaceful. I highly recommend for anyone to take their time to come visit. Will not disappoint Make sure you reserve ahead of time or u will not be able to get it.

I can only say that this had been one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had in Hawaii. I had tears, joy and pride for it’s eloquent displaces of valor. This memorial is an amazing tribute to the hero’s that served and protected our United States of America. The ferry ride was sobering and respectful to the Arizona site. Everything was without cost. We left a donation and our experience wasn’t any less greater than those who paid. It’s free to enter and the cost comes with variety of different tours your can take. There is plenty of restrooms as well as a food options. If you get the chance put this on your list.

Just so well thought out. So many exhibits to tour. I strongly recommend buying the Passport to Pearl Harbor before you arrive. Plan on about 6 hours. Parking is online only and costs $7. Details are available online. You will save money and time. The Passport does not include the Arizona Memorial. Bags are prohibited, so bring everything in your pockets. If you are arriving from the freeway in the morning, the LONG line is for Ford Island only which requires a military or government access ID. Go around that line and the next entrance is for the Historic Site. For lunch I recommend the 806 restaurant, a short walk and you won't have to give up your parking space. Great food at reasonable prices and a fantastic view of the yacht harbor. Bring water to the PH Historic Sites.

I’m of the opinion that everyone should make an attempt to visit this place at least once in their lives. The Bombing of Pearl Harbor was a significant part of our country’s history; the people who worked and died that day deserve some acknowledgement and respect. It was very informative with all the placards, displays, and short films. Seeing the wall of names-all the people who died that day-is pretty sobering.

It's a historic graveyard, a reminder, and a warning. It was moving and emotional for me because my grandfather was on the SS Reid in the harbor, at age 17, when they were attacked. I love the messages conveyed during the presentations. This is a must do on you travel plans!

This is our second visit. We did things differently this time and just came to tour the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum. The Missouri was incredible. So huge. We did the guided tour and Michael was awesome. I wish he’d spoken just a little slower as his words tended to run together and he was of course moving his head from side to side to speak to the whole group so I felt like we missed some stuff however he imparted a LOT of information in 30 minutes. More than we could hope to remember. Exploring the ship after the tour was absolutely amazing. My husband’s grandfather was on a carrier actually stationed at Pearl and part of the fleet that left before the attack. Seeing life on board was eye opening for both of us and I think really made my husband appreciate and feel closer to his grandfather who he lost when he was 12. The experience really can’t be put into words and we would just encourage anyone visiting Oahu to visit Pearl Harbor. The things you don’t think about but find surprise you. Like the dentist’s chair, the PO, The bathroom situation and the list goes on. Sleeping in bunks with no windows anywhere. Living like that for months and months… The aviation museum was cool as well but underwhelming compared to what we expected. The most moving part was Hanger 79 and the bucket holes still in the windows. The entire experience/site is accessible but for obvious reasons not all of the ship will be able to be seen from a wheelchair and I’m not sure if the USS Bowfin is accessible at all. There are lots of restrooms, gift shops, food and parking. Give yourself time. It’s a lot of information ands a lot of ground to cover.

Beautiful and touching. *** tickets are $2 in advance via the .gov web address. Please buy them at least a week or two early, even if you might change your mind, because there is a wait. FYI if you think you're going to be busy or the weather changes, buy another set for the next day (only $2 per person). Parking is limited, if it looks like the main lot is full, save yourself the time of getting stuck waiting to get out and drive down the street there is additional parking dirt lots down the road. *** most important...do not bring any purse, bag, backpack, larger than an eye glass case, they will tell you to hike back to your car and secure the item(s).

The tour is very cool and well worth including in your travel itinerary. I just don't recommend buying a tour package on a tourist website. You lose the whole day riding the bus. I would do this tour by car. Parking costs $7 dollars. There are several areas you can visit and photograph for free. You can also buy the ticket for the attraction right there, or buy it in advance on the official website.

If you are not taking a tour to visit Pearl Harbor, I suggest you do your research to make the most of your time! We took a bus here from our hotel, and arrived around 1pm. This was way too late in the day to get the full experience. There are parts that are free, and parts that cost money. Some are on one side of the bay, and others you have to take a tram to. It would be best to plot out exactly what is most important to you to see and fits your budget by visiting their website. We enjoyed our time, but had wished we researched the experience more to make a better use of our time rather than winging it 😁

The park is beautiful and very well done. You cannot bring pocketbooks or any bags, unless they are clear, in the park, which we didn't know. Parking is 7$ (2024) and you pay by Qr code with your phone. But also, don't leave valuables in your car because they might be stolen. Not really helpful. We signed up for the USS Arizona tour. In the information it says that it would take an hour . There was no film in the theater like it says on the website and on the boards throughout the park..so, the whole tour was about 20 mins there and back. The people running the park seemed like we were hassling them even being there, which is sad because my husband is also a veteran. Anyhow, if you go to the gift shop and you are a veteran, you do get a discount, so make sure you ask for that. It was very clean. The only person who was super courteous was the security person at the gate. One bathroom was closed an hour before the memorial was to be closed. There is also a snack shack.

Everything we did was FREE. Amazing contribution of the valiant bravery to help keep this world free. Very humbled by the tributes. Definitely a haloed ground. Thankful for my grandfather and all the others service men and women. When we went the flag was at half staff because the last survivor of the Arizona had past away. If you look on the left side of the memorial there was a large butterfly. I like to think that that was the last survivor coming back to meet his brothers.

It's a definite must see place if your going to Hawaii!! They have 4 attractions you can see, one free (Arizona), 3 you pay for. OR you can buy a pass, that includes all 4. However the pass is about 115 per person AND requires you to be there before 10am; because it's an all day thing! I would recommend if your going to the Arizona, watch the movie FIRST, it plays every hour on the 15min and 45min mark. It'll give you a much better understanding of the Arizona before going to see it. Overall the park rangers where absolutely amazing folks to ask questions too. The marines and army personal who navigate the boats are wonderful as well. All I would recommend is for you to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!

This experience was so heartbreaking and so beautiful at the same time. I did not expect the tour to hit me like it did. My sister in law that will retire from the Army next year was with me and my 17 year old daughter who just joined the National Guards 6 months ago. It hit my heart differently as it's too close to home for me.

An excellent hike that gives you a great view of the city. It’s a fairly easy hike, but there are some steep steps that one must take. Overall amazing experience, and go in the early morning times, less sun to deal with while coming back down.

Absolutely beautiful hike! There is an entrance fee and reservations are recommended but they were kindly letting us in without it. Very nice hike and stunning view from the top. Some leftover military buildings you can see and visit. Water fountains are available at the bottom of the crater. No dogs allowed.

About 1.8 mile round trip hike with great views. Continuous uphill hike with several flights of stairs. Recommend to go early in the morning before it gets too hot. Make sure to take at least 2 to 3 liters of water. Once you reach the top, the views are amazing. This is one of the places you must visit if you are in Oahu, Hawaii. It's bout 10 to 15 min drive from Waikiki Beach.

We’re good shoes! Bring H2O to hydrate! And wear a hat! Make parking reservations and tickets ahead of time, on line. Go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery! It is a bit of an up hill walk with lots of steps at the top. There is a long lighted tunnel you go through so if you have a phobia of small darkish places or heights you might want to rethink going to the summit. If you go to the summit go into the gunner pit. And at the back the is spiral steps that will take you down the back way. The view is well worth the hike. It is not a hard hike just up hill and lots of steps. Allow 2 hours so you can take in the view and relax at the summit. Nice way to spend a few hours.

It’s a beautiful state park with lots of history behind it. You can see areas that were used for military purposes back in the day. The view is incredible especially when you climb high enough. There’s lush greenery and blue oceans for miles along with a decent view of a nearby city. Be sure to pack sunscreen and hold onto your hats and other loose items; it gets windy at the top. I might have lost mine if it weren’t for my hat’s drawstring. As implied and shown in the pictures, it’s a steep hike. Be prepared for a workout climbing to the top. To me, the climb was absolutely worth it.

We had a fantastic experience hiking at Diamond Head State Park! The trail is reasonably maintained (watch out for washout areas) with plenty of places to stop and catch your breath, which really enhances the journey. Conveniently, there are restroom facilities at the base before you start your ascent, they also have water bottle fill up stations as well (free!) The $5 hike-only entrance fee is a breeze to pay via a QR code, making it quick and easy to get going. Parking is $10 (as of April 2024). Do remember to bring water, snacks, wear sunscreen, and a hat, as the sun can be quite intense. It can be a bit breezy up at the top and expect to see and sometimes feel the sun showers. The views from the top are absolutely stunning and well worth the hike. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a rewarding outdoor activity! Recommendations: sweat proof sunscreen, cap or visor, walking/tennis shoes, refillable water bottle, sunglasses, snacks (but be mindful and pickup after yourselves), camera, and be prepared to walk about 5000 steps, Pro tip: take a Ride-share App to the crater/drop off, do the hike, and then walk all the way down to the beach when you’re done! Plenty of shops to stop at for food and drinks on your way!

Great hike! I definitely recommend arriving early, as the park fills up quickly. After 10, it gets really hot and the hike becomes more of a chore. Right now, there is no outdoor mandate for masks in Hawaii. The signs that say masks are required in the park appear to only be required when within six feet of others at the entrance, and when buying things, also at the entrance. There is no enforcement of masking on the hike. We chose to park at the park, which is 10$ for a vehicle and you have to wait for a spot to open up. The trade off is that your car is not likely to be broken in to while on the trail. If you've hiked other hikes in Hawaii, you know break-ins are a problem, so 10$ is worth it. After your hike, cool off with a dole whip, (pineapple ice cream), or a pineapple smoothie. There are also mango smoothies and lots of other refreshments available at the small stands towards the right of the trail entrance. There is an area with picnic tables and shade trees to the left of the trail entrance. It's 5 dollars a person to hike the trail, (unless you're local). There are 3 machines to pay for tickets, (located to the left of the trail entrance) and they accept credit cards. The attendant in the booth on the left as yoy walk towards the trail will take your receipt, or check your HI ID. The trail starts off smooth paved, and then transitions into a rocky paved, but is solid, paved ground all the way. There are a few portions with stairs, all towards the summit. Be careful on your way down the stairs, we saw 2 people almost fall, as their legs were tired from the climb. You experience that the most on the way down, believe it or not. Bring water on the hike. At least a liter per person should cover you. There is some shade in the beginning of the hike, and a cave towards the end, (no way to rest in the cave, it's stairs and a tight squeeze in passing two way traffic). Otherwise, you are exposed to the sun, especially if it is directly overhead during mid-day hours.

Lovely hike, well setup for almost anyone to get to the top. Took about an hour to climb to the top and about half an hour to climb down. The view is incredible from the top. I would recommend going early before it gets too hot. Honestly, it was a great little morning activity, and I would recommend.

This is a must see when visiting Oahu. The hike was steep and challenging but the views were amazing and worth it! There were plenty of spots to rest or have a seat on the way up. Hand rails were a good surprise! The Area was very well kept, bathrooms, water refilling stations, etc. We were there for the full 2 hour reservation, the hike itself took 90 minutes round trip (2 slightly out of shape adults and 3 energetic boys).

Good for families. Parked in the park. Bring enough water. West s hat. Go to the bathroom before you start. Moderate hike with flat and uneven trails. Not a straight path. Some stairs. Rails available. Dark tunnel to go through. Once you reach the summit. Check out the now and the bunker. Go at your own pace. There are some chairs along the way and scenic spots to rest and take pics. Good time.

Breathtaking hike and Breathtaking view once you get up there. Very dry and hot walking up in mid day. If it's sunny you better get a hat and plenty of sunscreen and water. Best to hike up in morning or 4 pm. Gate closes at 6 pm and you will be stuck inside thr park.

Prepare for an exciting adventure by lacing up your comfortable hiking boots or sneakers! This trail is both steep and stunning. However, it's important to note that it's not suitable for individuals with unmanaged asthma or limited mobility. The path starts off smooth but quickly becomes uneven pavement, featuring numerous stairs and a couple of tight tunnels that might challenge your claustrophobia. Once you conquer this trail and reach the summit, the $5 fee is well worth it for the breathtaking views. If you're planning to visit, be sure to make reservations in advance as walk-ins aren't allowed, and please leave your pets at home. While driving is an option, parking is limited, so I recommend using a ride-sharing service for convenience.

Went online to book the entrance ticket, usd5 per adult for the 7 am slot. Took Uber here. Then upon checking in, went up the trail. It was a gentle steep climb upwards. Just 10 minutes before reaching the summit, we had to climb up a few dozen steps. That was indeed challenging. At the lookout points, we stopped for a rest and took photos. Beautiful scenery. We also saw the buildings at Waikiki beach area. At the summit, we saw the Diamond Head crater.

Very cool adventure. It was slightly overcast when we went there. The fog started to clear up when we reach the top. So we got lucked out to get a good picture. Its probably a 1 hr hike their and back. They have a bunker at the top its very cool. The views here are an amazing shot of the pacific and crater. Make sure if you do go to bring a poncho. It rains here quite often in December. I didn't bring one and bought two garbage bag ponchos at the souvenir shop for 6.00. You have to make reservations to get in if your not a local.

Such a fun hike and beautiful view at the top. When it says going left is the best route, they are serious. Both trails end at the same destination, and you can go down the harder way to see that route.

Very cool experience with great views. I was able to complete the hike in 1 hour, while alone. It was busy, but not so crowded that passing people was impossible. I enjoyed the walk at a reasonable pace. I was tired at the end, and sweaty. My hike was 9am on a sunny day. Perfect! Enjoy!

Absolutely brilliant view out here. Along the trail the crater become very clear. It is quite the sight to see. Once you reach the top the view only gets better. The old bunker is pretty amazing to check out from the inside and out. And at the very top you get a very clear view of the ocean, Honolulu and the mountains in the middle of the island. Check it out it is worth the climb.

What a great experience and what a great view from the top. Being out of shape, the hike did make my wife and I work, but we made it up fairly quickly. This is more of a rugged hike compared to some of the paved bikes in Hawaii, but it’s still manageable for most people and the view is well worth it.

Great little hike for the family to see some great views! Don't touch the hand rails or your hands will turn rusty brown. Don't try going to the top with a stroller or someone way out of shape. Bring and drink water!

If you love to hike and like a bit of a challenge, this is the place for you. The hike is absolutely worth it when you reach the top. The views are a beautiful vantage point. Also, do it with audio tour so you hit every historical highlight.

Great hike with beautiful views along the way. Fun to walk through the tunnel, and climb inside an old WWII bunker at the top. Busy place, unfortunately not handicap accessible other than the parking lot with steep, uneven surfaces in many places and stairs but still a great hike!

This is probably the best view of the island you will get unless your in the air. It's a hike but it's paved or cut into the rock face the entire way. Some areas are a bit narrow but still room for 2 people side by side. There are plenty of spots to stop and take in the view while resting if you need it. There are water stations, vending machines and bathrooms at the start.

Hawaii's most famous natural monument. Beautiful hiking to the top of the hill, from where there is a view of Honolulu and Waikiki beach. Admission is $5, parking is $10. You can get here through a tunnel, there is a parking lot and washrooms, you can buy small snacks and drinks here. The trail takes about 1.5 hours, along the way there are information boards where you can learn more about this beautiful place.

FYI reservation required to get into the park. Definitely recommend doing the summit hike at sunrise - beautiful spot. Although it’s a pretty good incline, the trail is easy enough for less experienced hikers and there are spots to stop and catch your breath if needed. Recommend hiking boots or sneakers with good traction.

Diamond Head State Park had some killer views that makes it worth your time. From the top you could see literally everything. It's not a terrible hike, but if you're not used to inclines and stairs it might take you by surprise. It includes switchback style inclines and three separate sets of stairs. The first is about 70 stairs, then 99 stairs and you're almost there. Lastly is a large spiral staircase that takes you to the top look out. There is an outdoor option that avoids the last two sets of stairs so if you're not feeling them it's a little easier path. I'd definitely recommend taking a stop here and enjoying the views. You won't regret it. When you come there is a bathroom near the parking lot with picnic tables and some vending machines with water. There is also a water fountain to refill your water bottles. There is no bathroom on the hike so you might want to make sure you take advantage of the facilities before you head up.

Book entry for parking in advance unless you want to hike into the park! Also, be prepared for a very very steep hike in the hot humid crater. Bring water and leave the small children with a babysitter. Otherwise it was fantastic and the views were phenomenal.

A very nice walk, includes for about 20 minutes (took me 45 minutes with kids). A great lookout. There are bathrooms at the bottom and vending machines with drinks. I saw some nice birds and first time seeing a mongoose (saw 3 of them). A good experience as a tourist. Don’t forget to book online and pay $5 before you go as reservations are required.

This is a relatively challenging hike to the top. It is pretty steep, and parts of the path are narrow. I would bring comfortable shoes and water. Also, the entrance is by reservation online only. It was very affordable, and the views are well worth it. The only restrooms are at the beginning of the trail starts

Had a nice walk up to the top. It is paved with sidewalks and steps. It was nice to go in the morning. There were people on the trail, but it wasn't too crowded. Great views of Waikiki from the summit.

Only reason I marked it as 4 stars is because you have to make reservations/pay. I recommend going to their website if you want to reserve parking/entry to make it more hassle free. We went at 4pm (closes promptly at 6pm), and it was busy and hot (early March). Also, you can see the lighthouse! Overall, easier hike.

Awesome views of the inside of a crater! The hike to top is about a mile long and is uphill all the way with numerous switchbacks along with a long narrow tunnel towards the top, and finally about a 100 stairs to get to the top. The climb in well worth it as the views are spectacular! Make sure to wear good hiking shoes as it's all downhill on the way out and you will get blisters with loose fitting shoes!

This hike phenomenal. Even the drive to reach this place is fantastic. There is a look out just before the tunnel it’s beautiful, driving thru the tunnel is also amazing with white lights. The views after reaching the top is amazing. One side is the city view and the other side is the ocean view it’s amazing. Definitely recommend this hike if you are in Honolulu. Reservations are required, I recommend the morning reservation since it’s very hot and you walk opposite to sun most of the hike. Do the reservations quickly since they allow limited people. The to and fro hike is about 2 hours which is moderate and very safe as well.

A must visit in Oahu. You must book in advance (reservation mandatory, see website in photo) but once there, the path to the summit is not too strenuous with lots to see. Be prepared for plenty of stairs near the top but the outstanding views make it very worthwhile

Make sure you sign on right at 7am because tickets are sold out within minutes. With Covid restrictions, the beach is less crowded compared with our previous visits pre-Covid. The tram is also free for all visitors going up and down now. The beach itself is quite pebbly, but snorkeling is phenomenal!

Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay is a breathtaking experience that showcases the beauty of Hawaii's marine life. The shallow waters are crystal clear, providing perfect conditions for exploring the vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. It's an underwater paradise that captivates both novice and seasoned snorkelers. While the entry ticket to the bay is $25, there is an additional fee for snorkeling equipment rental giving the opportunity to swim alongside exotic fish and possibly even encounter sea turtles. There's ample parking available, and restrooms are provided for visitors' convenience. After a refreshing snorkel, you can relax in the picturesque park adjacent to the beach.

This post is informational only. Remember Hanauma Bay is a Nature Preserve, not a typical beach, so there is an educational element to the parishioners to bring awareness to keeping the ecosystem alive. As one of the volunteers here there are always alot of people who show up not really knowing what coming to the bay entails, so this is to give some insight into what happens after you purchase your ticket and your time slot gets called. This will not cover the online booking, costs, or parking. That's all managed by the state. Most people think once they buy their ticket for the movie they will go directly to watch it. That is not the case, you must first go through a brief orientation by a volunteer or education staff. It's about 3-5 minutes depending on the person. This is where you learn what you can and can't do at the beach as well as what's available to you and their locations. AFTER the orientation you then go to the video (could be a minute or two wait depending if the previous video group has concluded or not). The video is about 7 minutes or so. I have had several people say they watched the video on YouTube. THAT DOES NOT COUNT. After the video you are able to go to the beach. All of the orientation and video is to for educational purposes, Nature Pres erve remember? If you have issues getting to the bay or rather you would not want to deal with all of the above there are other free snorkel spots on the island, turtle bay, kawela bay, and sharks cove, and electric beach are pretty decent spots.

Best day of my life. Plan to spend the whole day there! You could just snorkel as long as you want. The beach is amazing and great snorkelling experience for a beginner

Snorkeling is so fun! The bay is pretty and great for snorkel beginners. Great for kids as well. Remember to wear water shoes, rocks under the sea. They have best and face mask for rental. But no beach umbrella and beach towels, you have to bring your own.

Beautiful beach and snorkeling experience, but I recommend getting tickets at the exact time they open up. Please bring reef safe sunscreen. Come early. Swim out a bit further to find deeper areas with more fish.

The view was breathtaking. Disappointed by the amount of fish we see while snorkeling, the best place to snorkel is in Sharks Cove. You have to book to get in at 7am 2 days ahead, parking is a bit of a nightmare. The clear water makes up for it. We went in the afternoon just hours before the beach closes and it was very crowded. We managed to take a few pictures of the water without people in it and it’s just heaven on earth.

Such a beautiful beach, but really hard to buy tickets! The water is sooo pretty and has amazing fish and coral to see when you snorkel. It is slightly chilly, but you can always lie down in the sunny beach if you get cold! I would definitely recommend.

Excellent place for snorkeling. Water temperature is warm. Recommend to wear beach footwear when snorkeling. The rocks and corals are sharp and will cut you by accident if you’re not careful. You aren’t supposed to touch them but sometimes big waves can throw you off balance. Fishes are numerous and not scared of humans.

Beautiful bay. They do a great job educating people before heading out the beach. It’s important to follow all the rules to preserve the nature for our next generation.

Worth the price! Wear water shoes, the Coral is sharp, even when you're trying not to step on it. This was my favorite place to snorkel!!

Bring your water shoes (must), life-vest (if you don’t know how to swim), and your snorkeling gears (must). Use coral reef safe sunscreen. You’ll see the fishes but reef itself is pretty much dead. BRING SNACKS/food and drinks for sure.

So it is beautiful, and totally worth it. But here is some helpful tips I wish we new earlier. 1. All you need to make a reservation is to show up with as many people as you can to get the reservation tickets. Then depending on your time slot, you could just come back. But you could also just go right in. 2. It's a beach with snorkeling, come prepared for the "beach". Chairs, umbrella, snacks ect. 3. There are beautiful fish that will come right to you, but there is more to the left where it's a little deeper. 4. Don't need the fins they are very heavy and uncomfortable. So just rent the snorkel and new mouth piece. 5. Sunscreen! It's sunny and beautiful so get out there!

Really disappointed, water was cloudy and difficult to see what little fish were present. The beach is beautiful, but definitely not worth the expense. It’s an expensive outing once you add the cost of the tickets, plus Taxi/Transport to/from Waikiki beach. Don’t waste your time, rent a car and travel to the upper part of the island, there are beautiful beaches, turtles, sea lions, and fish a plenty at other (free) locations around the island.

Beautiful spot for snorkeling and a good family friendly place to spend some time :) There isn’t that many fish especially considering there are a decent amount of people all day. However, it is still a nice spot to snorkel and see fish, just don’t expect to see an inane amount haha. There are other spots on the island where there are much more and spots where there are much less. Please wear reef safe sunscreen!!! Let’s preserve nature :)

This is the #1 attraction on Oahu - better than Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, etc. The Bay is absolutely beautiful. It's peaceful. It's maintained well. Unfortunately, getting a reservation is very challenging. You can reserve a ticket two days in advance. Tickets sell out within minutes. We tried right at 7am on one day and didn't get any tickets because the website kept crashing. Luckily, we got a reservation when trying the next day. Set aside time to do this. There are walk-up tickets available but it's a small quantity and the parking is limited. We rented snorkeling equipment from Dive Oahu, which is the preferred option located directly on the beach. The equipment was pretty basic but it's a convenient spot to rent it from. We rented in advance but I believe you could rent it the day of if needed. We saw a ton of fish. We tried to take pictures and record videos through waterproof phone cases but they won't do it justice. The waves are fairly calm and fish are fairly close to shore, so there were a lot of kids snorkeling too. We highly recommend this experience if you're able to reserve a ticket!

If you’re a local, it’s well worth the $1 parking to enjoy this pristine and beautiful beach. But if you’re a tourist, it’s $3 parking per car and $25 per person… personally it’s not worth that. In either case, the water is incredibly clear, even on rainy days. Loads of friendly fish (they’re not scared of humans as we’re not allowed to kill the fish in this nature preserve, and somehow they know this lol. Be prepared to watch the 10 minute visitor video before you can come down to the beach :)

Beautiful beach area and the snorkeling is fantastic. Saw a large variety of beautiful fish, my favorite being the rainbow parrotfish. You should call several days ahead to reserve a parking spot although we did not and still got a spot same day.

We went there last year and it was truly a heavenly experience. It was quite a struggle to reserve a spot online a couple days in advance and we went there early in the morning (7 am) and waited in a long line of cars to get in. Everyone is directed to watch an educational video about preserving the wild life in the bay and safety. You can take trolley or walk down there (which is what we did) to meet a transcendent scene down the bay. The sand, the crescent hill surrounding the bay, the tranquil emerald/blue water and the blue sky put together a surreal scene that makes you remember this as the most beautiful place on Earth! Adding in the fish you see during snorkeling makes the experience even more vivid. There isn't much shade except for a handful of palm trees. Put ample amount of coral-safe sunscreen and multiple times if you want to be there for more than two hours. We all got sunburn despite the sunscreen we put on early in the morning, which probably got washed out as we stayed in the water. The burgers and fries in the park are pretty good and reasonably priced. The staff took good care of the visitors and managed the park very well. The beach closes at 2pm but you can stroll around on the top of the bay to take in more scenes. Definitely a must-go place if you are visiting Oahu.

Great place for snorkeling, too crowd sometimes but it's worth the visit, I don't really like the Idea of booking the time of the visit and wath a video for educational purposes before you enter the bay but I guess it is needed so you know what to expect, and know what to do and what not to do.

Highly suggest booking reservations in advance or book a tour. Reservations go fast. Water was a bit murky but we were able to see some fish. Bring snacks and plenty of water.

This is the best snorkeling beach I have ever been to. We were swimming with parrot fish, bonefish, jacks, angelfish, goatfish, lots of fish I didn't know what they were, and we even got to see a monk seal!!It's a very safe snorkeling beach, but make sure you get your reservations 2 days ahead, because they sell out fast. It's a amazing beach, and I highly recommend it!!! 🐢🤿🐟🐠🐡

Great wildlife natural reserve and snorkeling 🤿 place! Need to buy tickets online two days before. A bit overcrowded, but family friendly and good for novice swimmers.

Excellent mix of beginner and intermediate snorkeling here, the interior (pre-natural breakwall) area is quite relaxed and does have tons of fish to view. We even chilled out with a sea turtle. I would say drifting over the coral beds is a tad dicey because the clearance was tiny, if you do this I suspect you are hitting coral with your fins and should think twice about your choices. Probably best to exit out on the sand rivets and glide along the edges of the beds. Out past the breakwall on a non-stormy day are interesting high walled coral embankments, super cool and more interesting to navigate. Saw a relaxing pufferfish chilling out. For visitors the park is $25 per person and needs a reservation, available 2 days in advance (awake at 7AM HST that two days early or you wont have a booking). If you have a late in the day booking get to the front gate line 30~ mins early because they only let people in as spots empty. I will say the number of snorkelers was rather small, most seemed to be paying for a premium cost beach visit which I guess is ok..

Awesome place to visit for the views and the snorkling with beautiful fish and reef. I took all the underwater photos with my underwater camera Olympus tough tg6 wich was awesome for underwater activity.

So this review will primarily address the Battleship USS Missouri tour. Arrived at Pearl Harbor National Park around noon on Friday and walked through security to purchase 2 tickets. No issues. If you have a military or veteran ID present it for a discount. Discount is only for the individual holding the card. Drove to the Battleship on Ford Island (ensure you can do that as the Island is actively guarded and has restricted access, if not no biggie as there is a nice air-conditioned bus to take you). We walked to the entrance. Go to the end, basically where the ship is, and turn left. Past the concession stands there is another checkpoint to enter the ship. They will take your picture there and then you proceed to the ship. If you want buy a bottle of water at one of the stores and you can bring it along otherwise no food and beverages are allowed. As we boarded a volunteer group informs you of a free guided 3 stop tour. We opted for the tour and enjoyed it greatly. Price seemed expensive but the experience was unique, educational, and fun. Highly recommend if you have the time.

Very touching, seeing where the attack happened, seeing the museum was a good experience as well. Definitely suggest watching the movie they have, by where you line up to go see the ship, BEFORE going out to see the battleship Arizona. It gets you really into the sensation of what happened that day, and shows real footage of the attack. It also gives you some of the back story of why it happened. It was also great to see the Missouri as well. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience to see where WW2 started for us, and to also see where it ended for us, all in the same place.

Beautiful memorial and powerful experience. We accidentally did the boat ride to the Arizona memorial before going through the museum, I would recommend going through the museum first so it is more significant. NOTE: they do NOT allow any bags in and it is $7 to check a bag! Wish I had known this beforehand because we had to walk all the way back to the car in the rain

It was a special and solemn moment to step foot on the memorial. To see the harbor from the boat ride facilitated by the US Navy to the memorial was a lot to take in. If you plan to visit please be respectful as this is the finally resting place for many and you never know who has connections to those who have passed since many come often to pay their respects and visit. It’s free to go to the memorial site but please note it does get busy so it best to go earlier like anything in Oahu. Don’t forget to visit the other sites like the USS Bowfin or the aviation museum. A lot of history is here and if you are an American it is one of few places where we’ve ever been attacked. For me learning about it in a classroom versus actually being there was so different. I hope you find your visit as enriching as it was for me to learn about US history on another level.

Bucket list trip. Gorgeous, serene setting. Very moving at times, knowing what happened here and that I was standing over the remains of over 900 lost souls. After a short boat ride across the harbor from the visitors center, you have about 12-15 minutes on the memorial, so be quick in taking your pictures and paying your respects.

Another to say if you have questions ask. Let's see if I'm able to assist. You do not have to buy all the tickets at one price. You can buy tickets as you go. You're only saving 1$ if you get the whole package. I only did the Mighty Mo and the Arizona Memorial. I skipped the Aviation and the Bowfin Sub. You must prepare for an all day deal. This very informative tour gave me a deeper understanding of what happened at Pearl Harbor. Highly recommend to RSVP in advance and arrive extra early to see the movie and walk through the museums. The movie itself was worth the price of admission. Gave me so much insight into many details of that dreadful day in our history. It’s a very emotional experience! Make sure to get in line no sooner than 15 min before your scheduled ferry ride to the USS Arizona. Sit on the left side of the boat for great picture taking. Seeing the USS Arizona from above the memorial is breathtaking. I have a new appreciation for our fallen soldiers. God bless America.

Great experience, probably what impressed me (besides the history of what happened in Pearl Harbor) is that there's oil coming out, you really can see it and smell it. The place is very very small, it is a quick walk. Of course it is a memorial so, not sure why people take small kids here, I would go to the Missouri boat with them instead

Pearl Harbor is a must see. We bought our Arizona tickets the day before at 3pm and a passport for the rest onsite. Make sure you're logged in a few minutes before, tickets are gone within seconds. Look over the edge of the Missouri and you'll likely see turtles. The food across from the Missouri is really good! The shave ice was a nice treat on a hot day. You aren't allowed to bring in any bags but we carried our things through and then bought a reusable bag at the gift shop for $3 to carry phone/waterbottle/charger etc.

We went on the weekend, and we were able to get on standby. We got in line at 7:30, the first boat went out at 8:00, and the standby line was a little long so we didn’t get on until the 8:15 boat—not bad! The Arizona is at eternal rest and tells her story of that fateful day in silence. It is moving and extremely educational. I recommend that you watch the several movies put together that explain the tensions leading into the event and the happenings during and after the invasion. The memorial visit is free, however, the parking is $7. Also, no handbags or dogs are allowed. You can carry clear bags into the memorial.

This was such a memorable visit. The tour is so delicately done. It was fascinating, albeit heart breaking, seeing the vessels in the water and where it all happened. We had to visit the submarine and the museum too which were fantastic too.

What a humbling experience! A definite must see if you are on Oahu. Short introduction/informational video at the beginning, then a boat shuttles you to the USS Arizona memorial. Limited to 45 minutes on the memorial itself. Be respectful of those who lost their lives here!!! Back on lane, there is another memorial along the harbor and museums too. This part of the park is free entry with a $7 parking fee.

Clean, beautiful, interesting. I would say you need to make this an all day trip since there is so much to see and read in order to understand the history of Pearl Harbor. Would love to go back some day and take my children here (I guess I took one since I was pregnant at the time of visiting this place).

Beautiful place for sure but you need a whole day to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Aviation and battleship Missouri requires to take a shuttle to the respective museums and it takes a bit for you to get there and back. So don't try to cover it in a few hours or you will be left unfulfilled. Every place is amazing in itself with loads of history and life lessons. Submarine humbles you for the challenges people serving have to undertake. Tiny bunks and an enormous vessel. All in all, a MUST visit to know the tragedy and still feel the effects of it.

We arrived about 8:30 am, visited the Bowfin for an hour before doing our separately scheduled tour to the USS Arizona Memorial at 9:45. We were advised by others to catch the shuttle next to make sure we had time to see both the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum. Glad we followed that guidance. We finished with the museum at the Memorial and Gift Shop just as they were closing at 4 pm. It was a wonderful day! I loved the somber, reverent atmosphere and the opportunity to remember the sacrifices made by many.

Such a somber, heartbreaking, yet beautiful monument for those lost in the Pearl Harbor attacks. Our tour group arrived early and that’s something I highly recommend. We were able to take it in before it got real busy with people. Witnessing the raising of the flag and the national anthem was absolutely moving. That occurred at 8:50 or 9am if I remember correctly. I recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time to guarantee that you will get to take the fairy to the USS Arizona. Otherwise you’re on standby and my understanding is that they only take a certain number of groups out there. My Mom had the wonderful idea to bring our fresh lei flowers (off the string, of course) to leave at the memorial for those still entombed in the USS Arizona. They have done a beautiful job of honoring the service men that fought for our country and died so tragically.

Tickets are only sold in advance, and you can not bring any bags inside. All bags must be checked for$7 each. The Pearl Harbor Memorial is an amazing place of beauty, sadness, and a sense of peace. It is very tranquil and not a good place for children who want to run around or adults who want to create a scene. When visiting, please be respectful and remember it is a cemetery for thousands of people that have served out country

This is a nice memorial. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I reserved a free timed ticket online to see the USS Arizona Memorial, which is only accessible by boat. The boat boarding process was quick and straightforward, and the memorial was beautiful. It’s an architectural marvel, especially because it floats above the wreckage, portions of which you can see from the memorial. There’s a movie shown here about the Pear Harbor attack and the causes behind it, which was quite fascinating. There are exhibits about the attack and one about radar technology used during the attack and how it differed from the radar technology of today, which was very interesting. There’s a submarine and battleship you can visit here for a fee. I gave this national memorial five stars because it has interesting exhibits and did an excellent job memorializing the tragedy that occurred here.

As a history buff, this was very interesting. We did the USS Arizona tour as well, and that was fantastic, the ranger was incredibly informative and offered so much insight into what we were seeing. The boat ride over is very calm, not choppy, easy to handle and there are good ramps to get on and off the boat. Many of the details of the attack we did not learn in school, and it was incredible to see and learn about the space where this all happened and read first-hand accounts. Would be nice to have a better welcome at the entrance to know which experience required additional ticketing and possibly a map, none of which was offered to us.

The Pearl Harbor Bus Tour was an unexpected gem of a tour.   This tour presents a less common and perhaps more balanced perspective regarding the events of the attack on Oahu the day of December 7th, 1941.  Our NPS Ranger and tour guide, Jason, was very knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate about the factual history of what transpired with the Utah and the Oklahoma as well as other important and lesser‐known ships and the crew members who were lost that day.  Jason's compassion for the lost servicemen was incredibly moving and his presentation was captivating.   If you visit Pearl Harbor, please consider this amazing, no-cost 90-minute tour (service fee of $1 per ticket).

This is an amazing place to visit while in Hawaii. It was definitely in my bucket list. I loved it. So maintained and peaceful. I highly recommend for anyone to take their time to come visit. Will not disappoint Make sure you reserve ahead of time or u will not be able to get it.

I can only say that this had been one of the most humbling experiences I’ve had in Hawaii. I had tears, joy and pride for it’s eloquent displaces of valor. This memorial is an amazing tribute to the hero’s that served and protected our United States of America. The ferry ride was sobering and respectful to the Arizona site. Everything was without cost. We left a donation and our experience wasn’t any less greater than those who paid. It’s free to enter and the cost comes with variety of different tours your can take. There is plenty of restrooms as well as a food options. If you get the chance put this on your list.

Just so well thought out. So many exhibits to tour. I strongly recommend buying the Passport to Pearl Harbor before you arrive. Plan on about 6 hours. Parking is online only and costs $7. Details are available online. You will save money and time. The Passport does not include the Arizona Memorial. Bags are prohibited, so bring everything in your pockets. If you are arriving from the freeway in the morning, the LONG line is for Ford Island only which requires a military or government access ID. Go around that line and the next entrance is for the Historic Site. For lunch I recommend the 806 restaurant, a short walk and you won't have to give up your parking space. Great food at reasonable prices and a fantastic view of the yacht harbor. Bring water to the PH Historic Sites.

I’m of the opinion that everyone should make an attempt to visit this place at least once in their lives. The Bombing of Pearl Harbor was a significant part of our country’s history; the people who worked and died that day deserve some acknowledgement and respect. It was very informative with all the placards, displays, and short films. Seeing the wall of names-all the people who died that day-is pretty sobering.

It's a historic graveyard, a reminder, and a warning. It was moving and emotional for me because my grandfather was on the SS Reid in the harbor, at age 17, when they were attacked. I love the messages conveyed during the presentations. This is a must do on you travel plans!

This is our second visit. We did things differently this time and just came to tour the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum. The Missouri was incredible. So huge. We did the guided tour and Michael was awesome. I wish he’d spoken just a little slower as his words tended to run together and he was of course moving his head from side to side to speak to the whole group so I felt like we missed some stuff however he imparted a LOT of information in 30 minutes. More than we could hope to remember. Exploring the ship after the tour was absolutely amazing. My husband’s grandfather was on a carrier actually stationed at Pearl and part of the fleet that left before the attack. Seeing life on board was eye opening for both of us and I think really made my husband appreciate and feel closer to his grandfather who he lost when he was 12. The experience really can’t be put into words and we would just encourage anyone visiting Oahu to visit Pearl Harbor. The things you don’t think about but find surprise you. Like the dentist’s chair, the PO, The bathroom situation and the list goes on. Sleeping in bunks with no windows anywhere. Living like that for months and months… The aviation museum was cool as well but underwhelming compared to what we expected. The most moving part was Hanger 79 and the bucket holes still in the windows. The entire experience/site is accessible but for obvious reasons not all of the ship will be able to be seen from a wheelchair and I’m not sure if the USS Bowfin is accessible at all. There are lots of restrooms, gift shops, food and parking. Give yourself time. It’s a lot of information ands a lot of ground to cover.

Beautiful and touching. *** tickets are $2 in advance via the .gov web address. Please buy them at least a week or two early, even if you might change your mind, because there is a wait. FYI if you think you're going to be busy or the weather changes, buy another set for the next day (only $2 per person). Parking is limited, if it looks like the main lot is full, save yourself the time of getting stuck waiting to get out and drive down the street there is additional parking dirt lots down the road. *** most important...do not bring any purse, bag, backpack, larger than an eye glass case, they will tell you to hike back to your car and secure the item(s).

The tour is very cool and well worth including in your travel itinerary. I just don't recommend buying a tour package on a tourist website. You lose the whole day riding the bus. I would do this tour by car. Parking costs $7 dollars. There are several areas you can visit and photograph for free. You can also buy the ticket for the attraction right there, or buy it in advance on the official website.

If you are not taking a tour to visit Pearl Harbor, I suggest you do your research to make the most of your time! We took a bus here from our hotel, and arrived around 1pm. This was way too late in the day to get the full experience. There are parts that are free, and parts that cost money. Some are on one side of the bay, and others you have to take a tram to. It would be best to plot out exactly what is most important to you to see and fits your budget by visiting their website. We enjoyed our time, but had wished we researched the experience more to make a better use of our time rather than winging it 😁

The park is beautiful and very well done. You cannot bring pocketbooks or any bags, unless they are clear, in the park, which we didn't know. Parking is 7$ (2024) and you pay by Qr code with your phone. But also, don't leave valuables in your car because they might be stolen. Not really helpful. We signed up for the USS Arizona tour. In the information it says that it would take an hour . There was no film in the theater like it says on the website and on the boards throughout the park..so, the whole tour was about 20 mins there and back. The people running the park seemed like we were hassling them even being there, which is sad because my husband is also a veteran. Anyhow, if you go to the gift shop and you are a veteran, you do get a discount, so make sure you ask for that. It was very clean. The only person who was super courteous was the security person at the gate. One bathroom was closed an hour before the memorial was to be closed. There is also a snack shack.

Everything we did was FREE. Amazing contribution of the valiant bravery to help keep this world free. Very humbled by the tributes. Definitely a haloed ground. Thankful for my grandfather and all the others service men and women. When we went the flag was at half staff because the last survivor of the Arizona had past away. If you look on the left side of the memorial there was a large butterfly. I like to think that that was the last survivor coming back to meet his brothers.

It's a definite must see place if your going to Hawaii!! They have 4 attractions you can see, one free (Arizona), 3 you pay for. OR you can buy a pass, that includes all 4. However the pass is about 115 per person AND requires you to be there before 10am; because it's an all day thing! I would recommend if your going to the Arizona, watch the movie FIRST, it plays every hour on the 15min and 45min mark. It'll give you a much better understanding of the Arizona before going to see it. Overall the park rangers where absolutely amazing folks to ask questions too. The marines and army personal who navigate the boats are wonderful as well. All I would recommend is for you to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!

This experience was so heartbreaking and so beautiful at the same time. I did not expect the tour to hit me like it did. My sister in law that will retire from the Army next year was with me and my 17 year old daughter who just joined the National Guards 6 months ago. It hit my heart differently as it's too close to home for me.

Truly an amazing experience. This ship is full of interesting exhibits and history. You’ll could feel the aura emanating from this glorious machine. It was very cool seeing the bridge and the officers quarters at the front of the ship. Recommend going into every little area to get a full feel for it. Great stop!

Russell was out tour guide and he was amazing! The deck tour was very informative but also brief enough to explore the rest of the ship. There is a lot to see and read so plan for a full day. Restrooms were clean and the food offered at the canteen was actually better quality than I was expecting. All of the staff were very nice and helpful!!

The story of the Missouri and its mini resurrections is amazing. I love visiting with the Vets on board and our guide saffron was truly amazing she knew her stuff! She was happy to share details and information you wouldn't get just looking over the ship on your own. The story of the kamikaze that hit the ship and how the crew responded is humbling. A must-see stop on your visit to Oahu. And for an extra bonus we went home and watched the movie Battleship, that features the Missouri and actual Vets, to round out our day!

Very interesting and informative tour of the USS Missouri that played a vital end to World War 2. You can choose to take a self guided tour or one with a guide. Highly recommend choosing a guide who adds A LOT of details you can’t get on your own. And there’s no extra charge to get a guided tour. After the tour is over, it’s amazing to spend time on your own exploring below deck and even on the top of the ship on the bridge. Don’t go below if you’re claustrophobic though. Very tight quarters down there. No food allowed on the ship so eat in advance because it takes at least 30-45 min to take the tour. You can take a bottled drink that has a cap on it.

Great history lesson on the history of the Missouri. Appreciated learning facts about the past in a linear path, decorated with museum-like learning passages topped with a preserved retro-style appearance. The admission is 34.99 and can be purchased online, ahead of time, to avoid any lines. The Memorial includes the lower decks with a worthwhile, self-guided tour through the facility. Definitely worth the money and you can end up spending a lot of time here having a great time. Definitely recommend!

This was such a cool experience that our children from ages 6 to 20 all enjoyed. The tour guide was knowledgeable and shared some very touching stories about the ship. We were all surprised how much of the ship you get to explore. It is huge and seems to gone on and on! We loved it! My 12 year old, history buff gave it two thumbs up!

There are multiple locations for the tour. The bus ride from the entrance to the location took about 30 minutes for this part. No photography or video during the ride. It’s really hot. So make sure to bring a hat and plenty of sunblocks. And comfy shoes for walking those stairs and tight spaces within the battle ship.

Such an interesting piece of history to explore. We came to Honolulu for a day during our trip to Big Island and Pearl Harbor (specifically the battleship Missouri) was our main reason. The ship is very open to explore on the deck, up, down, within… it’s very big - we were on it for at least two hours. There’s a mini-museum inside of it all about kamikaze pilots - that was super interesting. You can go explore the bunks, the cafeteria, various halls… a lot of the time it felt like we were the only ones below deck because it was just so huge. (You have the option of a guided group tour too if you’re into that.) There are a few reasonably priced food-truck style restaurants just outside of it with plenty of seating and also a gift shop. We easily spent three hours here including sitting down with some dole whip for a bit and then getting lunch at the other restaurant next to the dole whip stand. The shuttle to the ship took a while to get on - we were in line in the sun for maybe 20 minutes, but once on the shuttle until we were done was very enjoyable. The shuttle driver on the way there was so funny. Tickets were around $35 each. Dole whip was about $7.

A actual piece of history we've all read about in real life located at Pearl Harbor. Hugely interesting. There is bus that will take you from the visitor center to the Missouri. Take your time and explore every nook of the ship to get the full appreciation of what living and working on this vessel was really like

Not much to do very disappointed was looking forward to seeing more of the ship. Was not worth the admission. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable though. Also not many places to eat either. However great relics from the war and seeing actual pieces were great. Sad so many people died in this war. Interesting also to see they used for movie sets.

Fascinating to see. Definitely go on the guided tour of the deck. It was so informative. I can't imagine living in such tight quarters. Seeing where the Japanese surrendered to end WWII is something that I will always remember.

The 30min guided tour is well worth it, our guide Mina was excellent. The size is pretty hard to comprehend for the main battery deck guns, even the 5 inch ones are huge, would've been really something to see them fire. You can easily spend a few hours here, there are many areas to explore and it's a lot bigger inside than you may think. Really wish funds from the government were provided to preserve this ship.

It's a much better experience than you think. The park rangers are very friendly, very informative, and the whole experience is pretty cool and surreal. I would take the time if you've never been as it can be a quick educational experience while you're at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. It can be part of a very interesting day! p.s. Gift shop on premises and food truck not bad at all. Bathroom kinda far but you can get pretty good grub from a couple vendors, and shaved ice too! 🙂🤙✌️

I recently visited the Battleship Missouri Memorial and was impressed by the experience. From start to finish, it was an informative visit that I would highly recommend to anyone. The museum is well-maintained and beautifully presented, making it easy to immerse oneself in the history of the ship and its importance in World War II. The exhibits are informative and engaging, and the knowledgeable staff are always on hand to answer any questions. The highlight of the visit was, of course, the tour of the battleship itself. It was awe-inspiring to stand on the same deck where the Japanese surrender was signed and to see the massive guns and intricate workings of the ship up close. Overall, the Battleship Missouri Memorial exceeded my expectations. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in military history, engineering, or simply looking for a unique and educational experience.

Such a amazing ship and a wonderful part of US history, well worth the time and money. If you have a CAC, just drive to the Navy base and avoid the extra bus fees from Pearl Harbor Museum. There is so much to see and learn as you make your way throughout the ship many levels. The mighty force this ship displays and the historical events it went through is mind-blowing.

Recommend taking the guided tour. So much incredible information would be missed without a tour guide. This ship is actually still flowing and is a veritable museum on water. Just don't need any of the prepared foods from vendors. Only eat packaged food.

Going inside the belly of this magnificent battleship was truly a once in a lifetime visit. Inside and below deck is air conditioned, however, the main deck is outside and mostly in the direct sun. It was very, very hot, high uv sunburn factor and no water on board. The biting midges were attacking my legs,so I suggest mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and a bottled water. The climb up 5 decks to the navigation deck was worth it, but not easy for all people. Boarding the Missouri was breathtaking and a highlight of our Oahu vacation.

Impressive exhibit of the history of the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941. It is well maintained and cared for. Something every American of every age and every political view point should see to remember and identify what unity means as a country. Respect for what those before us did to ensure the liberty we enjoy today.

Amazing experience that I just live, once I planned my trip to Hawaii, I knew for sure that this was going to be a "Must Do." There is a general admission ticket and also a few add-on items that are not completely mandatory. it just depends on what you are expecting to see more. It is fully recommended to get the tickets online and select dates and times.

The historical site where Japan, leading to the end of World War II, drafted the surrender document is a valuable destination. The well-preserved USS Missouri ship showcases the actual surrender scene and exhibits the surrender document. The deck and the lives of soldiers below are meticulously maintained for an immersive experience. Guided tours in multiple languages, included in the admission fee, provide insightful information. Accessible by shuttle from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, as private vehicles aren't allowed. Shuttle is free, but a ticket is required for the USS Missouri tour.

We were really interested and looking forward to our visit to Pearl Harbor, the Arizona and the Missouri. So disappointing. It's basically a very large tourist trap. Takes away from the historical and educational importance. So sad.

Very interesting insight into the history of the Ship and the role it played in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Our tour guide (Sorry forgot her name but know she was from Missouri ) was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We only had a few of us on our tour which made it a little more special. I thought I would like the aviation museum (still worth the visit) more but in the end it was the other way around. Well worth the visit.

Touring this ship is a must do when on island, or even if you live here. Make sure you have closed toe shoes for this tour!!! For military folks and DOD ID holders, get your tickets at MWR, as they are only $24.00 per person for general admission. All the staff here are super friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have about the history of the ship. The guided tour is very informative, and takes you to significant points around the vessel. The gift shop is pretty cool. Lots of options to get your trinkets, t-shirts, and hats. Also they have dole whip and dip in dots on site! Always refreshing on a warm Hawaii day. You can bring closed water bottles onto the ship, and this is highly recommend since it can get hot.

Well worth the bus ride and admission costs. Within the Pearl Harbor Park, you will take a bus to the Battleship. One there, show or purchase your ticket, and then walk through the ship. I would allocate 2 hours.

It was great. Last time we did the entire Pearl Harbor experience, the Arizona Memorial and the USS Bowfin. Both our grandfathers served in WWII, mine on a sub, his on a carrier so we flipped a coin. This time was all about the Missouri and the air museum. You see how big the ship is but then you get up to it and you’re like ‘holy crud’ and then you go up on it and there are no words. We had a great tour guide, Michael, who gave us so many tidbits of information that there’s no way we could remember it all. He spoke really fast to get us as much info as possible in 30 minutes but maybe the AMOUNT of info should not have been the goal. Just sayin’. The exploring on our own after the tour was our favorite. What a time capsule they’ve made some of it! It’s an incredible experience and one we would both highly recommend. The shuttle is convenient, the ship is even accessible to a degree which is mind boggling considering. If we ever go back to Oahu, we will include Pearl and the Missouri. Super great time.

Really awesome museum. A must see if you visit Pearl Harbor and Oahu. This is a really storied battleship with rich histories. Also really symbolic as this where World War II ended. It was anchored bow to bow with USS Arizona which adds to the symbolic meanings: the start and the end of WWII for the US. I recommend joining the 35 minute deck tour which will guide you to the bow, the Japanese surrender signing spot, and the kamikaze spot. After the tour, you can take some additional time to tour the bridge and the lower decks. You do have to take a free shuttle bus to visit this museum from visitor center since Ford Island is an active military base. You can buy tickets for this museum at the visitor center

This palace is a must if you are in Honolulu and looking to learn about the local history. The items are superbly restored and the audio tour gives you a good overview to understand what you are seeing. Even my kids enjoyed learning about the Hawaiian kings and queens. I only wished to have a bit more of natural light to appreciate the place. But it was a really nice visit

I went with a group of Social studies teachers from California and Hawaii. It was very nice and interesting. I enjoyed learning about the History of the royal family of Hawaii and the international relations they had with Queen Victoria not England.

The palace was gorgeous, and it was so lovely to be seeing it in real life! Our tour guide, Claudette, was so nice and knowledgeable. She gave us so much information about the royal life, as well as history about the architecture. I would recommend going, learn about Hawaii! (also saw a rooster outside, under this beautiful tree)

We arrived in time to go on a self guided tour but they do suggest reservations as there’s no quarantine that there will be availability for walk in. You are given a preloaded audio guide mechanism to hold which gives you the history of each room in the palace. It’s beautiful inside and worth taking the tour. Young children might get bored as it can be over an hour and you can also visit the museum in the basement too. Check out the website before planing a tour as they are only open certain days and times and so have certain requirements and restrictions.

It was neat to see. You can pay $5 for access to basement for the "lite" version that is probably good enough with the displays. We did the self-guided audio tour. The palace isn't big so you can finish pretty quick unless you listen to all the audio. Surprisingly the AC works really well inside. The grounds are mostly concrete and not kept up as I would expect. When you arrive, you head downstairs for your access sticker. Then, back up to balcony to sit and be told exact instructions by Steven. Do not deviate from what Steven says. They give you booties to wear along with your audio device if you selected self-tour. A great inside rainy day option if you need.

This place is absolutely amazing! If you are ever in Hawaii please visit this. It’s stunning and has a rich but sad history. The staff is absolutely amazing. It’s very well organized. The audio tour gives a lot of information. We payed for an earlier time but Doreen helped us move the time and was very gracious! Thank you for such a pleasant visit!

We did the self-guided tour which was fine. Bring your wired ear buds if you don't want to have the listening unit against your head for an hour. Definitely worth the price - especially if you like history. Very humbling and disturbing how Hawaii became part of the US. This was definitely not covered in my high school and college US history courses (as it should have been IMO). Tour was $25 per adult and took about one hour. The team that did the restoration did an amazing job.

We paid for a docent led tour of the palace and I am glad we did,. We begin our tour in gift shop areas before being led to the palace for some short instructions and foot coverings. Our docent began the tour with an overview of HM King Kamehameha The Great and how he united the 8 kingdoms of Hawaii into one. We then toured the entertainment spaces of the palace and learned how HM King Kalākaua and his wife use the palace to entertain and more importantly how they used entrainment as a form of diplomacy. We then ventured into the private family areas where we learned about the private functions of the royal family. Sadly, we learned about the final monarch and how U.S. businessmen, with the help of our armed forces, overthrew HM The Queen and ended the more than 100 year monarchy, despite the wills of the native Hawaiians. Our docent was then so kind as to take us to the basement level, which isn’t apart of the docent-led tour, and give us a brief discuss and Q&A session before we were free to tour the basement which included the Lord Chamberlain’s office and relics of Their Majesties King Kalākaua and Queen Kapiʻolani as while as some jewels from Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Iolani Place in Hawaii is a 4/5 star destination worth a visit. The building is charming but small, ideal for an external tour. The surrounding park offers a refreshing experience with some impressive old trees. Overall, it’s a nice spot to explore during your visit to Hawaii.

The Docent tours are a great hidden Oahu treasure. Well worth the minimal extra cost. Excellent recount of Hawaiian history, culture & people. The palace is loaded with artwork, collectibles & architecture. Don't forget to tour the rooms in the basement & kitchen.

A beautiful historic building worth seeing even if you don't like museums. The entire area is very nicely arranged, clean, offers many sights and is suitable for a stroll. The architecture of this building is really special and if I had time, I would definitely go and look inside.

One of the top places I have visited on O’ahu. The palace is absolutely beautiful on the inside, but more importantly filled with history. Doing the audio tour is the way to go, it does an amazing job of telling you the history as you walk through the palace. They have done a fantastic job of preserving the history what took place throughout the island and inside the palace, both good and sad. Highly recommended to buy tickets in advance.

A unique stop in Honolulu. Beautiful grounds. The tour is a bit pricey at $25/head. It is self guided. You are given a phone-like device that you can use to hear info at each station along the route through the palace. I didn’t realize Hawaii had such a complex history with western and eastern influence going back hundreds of years.

The history of Hawaii is amazing, just like their palace. A huge restoration has taken place to preserve this heritage building. Be sure to add this to your bucket list.

He had a great afternoon exploring the palace. We did the self guided tour which provided details about the different rooms and the history of the Hawaiian kings and queens. My husband and I both loved the tour. The staff was incredibly nice, helpful and informative. We had a reservation and the time was respected. Seeing the palace is a must when visiting Honolulu.

What a beautiful and amazing visit. Learning about the history of Hawaii was educational and eye opening. The Palace is beautifully restored. The staff were all courteous and friendly. The audio tour was perfectly timed as you walk from room to room and understood the history.

Standing in a place where the kings and queens of Hawaii once did was amazing. It was like stepping back in time but also being in the present. For anyone wanting to know the real history of the monarchs of the island and their love for their people, it’s a must see. The self guided tour is best. You can take your time and each room is numbered so you can’t get lost. Always past the palace up but decided to actually go in this time and I’m really glad that I did.

I'd put this near the top of the list of Honolulu things to see. We did the audio tour and bought tickets a few days ahead of time. Id highly suggest buying tickets early. The Audio tour is super interesting covering the history of Hawaii from the unification of the islands. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The Palace is really something to see. Everything is beautiful and it's like stepping into the past.

A must see when visiting Honolulu. Being from this Island I tend not to make time to visit. Taking it for granted I guess. The new exhibit was very educational. Thank you for having Kamaaina Sundays every second Sunday of the month for locals to enjoy and learn at the same time. I was emotional at the end. Since we did not pay we donated and bought some items. Lovely and very helpful staff. ❤️

The tour gives you an understanding of some of the royal Hawaiian history. The palace itself has some beautiful features. Be sure to go into basement and look at the exhibits down there.

While you’re waiting for your tour, you can also look at the amazing banyan trees that surround the palace…You won’t regret going

Highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time. There was a line when we got there and no available tours for that day. We purchased the Kalākaua Legacy tour. It was an intimate group of 5 people with our docent, Kaulana. Kaulana did a fantastic job in their research and it shows in the tour. As Kaulana led us through the palace, they took us through the rich history of the monarchs of Hawai’i. Kaulana’s passion and love for Hawai’i and its people is evident every step of the way. The story telling gave me chills along parts of the tour. I felt so many emotions during the tour. 100% would recommend this tour and hope you all are fortunate enough to have Kaulana as your guide! Awesome place to learn about the history of Hawaii. I recommend getting advanced tickets, getting there early, and doing the audio tour. There is also a basement which you should also pay to see. Also the king kamehameha statue is across the street. Fun fact: the only royal soil in the US.

One of the top places to visit in O‘ahu. Tours are very well organised. I purchased tickets on the day but best to book in advance. The audio tour was great, a lot of history about the Hawaiian royal family.

A fantastic place to visit if one hasn't been to a submarine before. For everyone else, go there for the stories and not the physical submarine. The museum was impressive and tells a story which needs to be told. But not sure I would recommend this over other things if you are visiting the island just for a few days.

Anytime I step on board a submarine I am always amazed how tight things are inside the sub. It immediately makes me wonder how challenging it must be inside an operating sub. The USS Bowfin helped understand the pivotal role submarines played in World War II. This Museum is an absolute gem for history enthusiasts, naval aficionados, and anyone seeking a unique and immersive experience. It offers a rare glimpse into the life of submariners and their contributions to our nation's defense. The museum's dedication to preserving and sharing this important part of history is evident in every aspect of the visit.

Although the actual USS Arizona Memorial wasn’t really my thing, this was. Touring this submarine was so interesting. You see how cramped the quarters really are. It’s unbelievable that 80 people lived on this sub for months at a time. Some of the bunks are literally in the torpedo storage. You could be sleeping inches above a torpedo. If you are large or mobility challenged be aware that this may be difficult. You have to climb up and down stairs and there are very small airlock doors you have to pass through. My 75 year old father who has mobility issues made it but it was challenging for him (but completely worth it). There is no air conditioning so it can be very stuffy below deck but there are lots of fans to keep the air moving. In addition to going through the sub, the price of admission gets you into a very interesting museum full of WW2 and Cold War naval history. This isn’t cheap but I found it worth it. I found this to fit my tastes and interests more than the actual USS Arizona Memorial.

The USS Bowfin audio tour is a great way to see the submarine while also learning a lot about it along the way. It’s pretty incredible how much fits in there — some things that stood out were how compact the kitchen was, and a machine shop tucked into a corner. The museum was also good, but my layover was only 5-6 hours so I didn’t have much time for it other than a quick walk around the exhibits. The bus to/from the airport was good, I’d imagine if the train is running that will be an even better way of checking this area out during a layover without worrying about missing a connecting flight.

We loved this section of the pearl harbor museum there are several different and absolutely beautiful views of the ocean and there are statues, monuments, the submarine, and torpedoes on display here. Maybe it's because you have to pay to enter this area, but it is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. We enjoyed being able to see the different torpedoes and submarines. You are actually able to walk on the submarine and go inside of it and see the different parts/functions. The gift shop had really cool souvenirs and purchases fund the parks upkeep. The food offered at Jake's was really good with decent prices. If you enjoy submarines or simply want to pay your respects and visit pearl harbor I suggest this area.

This museum is in the same national park as the USS Arizona Memorial. This is a real hands-on experience, walking on the sub and seeing exactly how the crew actually lived. It's a real special opportunity. How they lived practically on top of each other is beyond me. Not only on top of each other but in some cases the beds were literally next to the torpedoes! If you have the funds and the time I highly recommend this tour, both the museum part and especially the self tour on the actual sub. You get to walk on the top outside deck, around the conning tower, and one deck below. You can see not only beds and torpedoes but tiny kitchen facilities and workman areas and even the shower and toilet. Plus you are surrounded by all the massive metal equipment that made the submarine run. You get to walk through the hatches most of the length of the sub. Fascinating to observe, when you consider these people lived on the sub for 2-month tours at a time. If you have a Go city pass, this tour is on it.

We enjoyed our trip to the submarine and museum very educational. I recommend you go on your trip. This is a must see and explore yourself. They also have an amazing pic you can purchase very unique and i just had to get. 5 out of 5

This was very cool! You get to go down into an old submarine and crawl around and look at stuff. You do have to crawl through hatches that are very small and require to step over them. There's also steep stairs. Other than that this was very cool!

We enjoyed touring the USS bowfin submarine and the museum. We did the self guided tour with the audio. It was nice listening to the history of the submarine and the information on the attack on pearl harbor. The museum itself was filled with artifacts. The photo they take of you is added to a newspaper replica from back in the day. Very creative and the only photo souvenir we bought the entire trip.

Great place for school, field trips or history, buffs or just anyone who is interested in history of the nation in general or even the world. Check out the pictures I posted for pricing for tickets to enter the museum and tour the submarine. There is a short movie on the other side, and lots of artifacts and plenty of memorials with explanations and names of those who served and died with honor and the names of survivors. We traveled halfway across the world to see the site and other things we are glad we were able to make it.

The USS Bowfin is part of the USS Arizona & Pearl Harbor experience. If you appreciate US History and want to see the inside of a US submarine this tour is for you. If you're claustrophobic- you may have trouble inside, because everything is close quarters. Personally, for $20, it was a worthwhile exhibit that you can see in about 90 minutes.

A very informative and fascinating experience! Requires a separate ticket from the USS Arizona/Pearl Harbor Memorial, but located on the same premise. The museum is very information and takes you through the history of the submarine as well as the part submarines played in WW2. You can also tour one level of the USS Bowfin as well. There are some additional artifacts outside of the museum next to the bathrooms. Small gift shop and food truck located in this section too.

I love this one. The maintenance on it is impeccable. And the tour through it is worth the price. The kids were blown away by the experience. The first hand stories are well curated. Plus the kide love to see the guns up close and personal.

Great museum and an excellent submarine walk-through. Being able to actually walk the top deck of the sub was a cool experience. The museum itself was fun with interactive experiences and short films that provided a lot of good information. There is also a covered "patio" with tables and a food truck, which we ended up eating at. Good food and nice shaded tables. A great visit!

The museum has so many different things to look at, the submarine outside, various pieces such as torpedoes, Bofors guns, info on ICBMs, etc. Climbing through the sub outside (USS Bowfin) is really neat. Definitely be on the more nimble side as the doorway is going to require some bending and can be a bit difficult for older folks.

An excellent museum covering US submarine history with an attached exterior exhibit and USS Bowfin herself. I would expect to spend a combined total of 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on how in depth you wish to go. The main attraction is USS Bowfin (accept the free audio tour included with the ticket!). The exterior area feature several notable pieces such as a Japanese manned suicide torpedo, and various American torpedoes. The museum is filled with exceptional displays and many noteworthy pieces of US submarine history, including USS Wahoo's flag.

This was one of the most interesting and cool things we have done on our trip. We really enjoyed this museum! It is attached to the pearl harbor memorial and that is where you park (It is now $7 to park). Once inside the gates, then you go over to the right and that is where the submarine museum is located. Ask for the free audio tour! Especially for going into the submarine. They give you the device and you get complimentary cheap earbuds with it too. Pro tip, do this museum first, then go to the Aviation museum (who also has an audio tour) and you can plug in your earbuds to that device since they do not give you anything over there, and you have to hold the device up to your ear. I would recommend walking the submarine first to get a feel for everything and get some background knowledge before going into the actual museum building. Walking through the submarine was definitely the coolest part. The audio tour is definitely needed here as it is literally just a walk through with very limited signage so the only way we learned anything about the sub or knew what we were looking at is through the audio tour. You press the number 1 when you get onto the sub and then from there I am pretty sure it is RFID to know when you cross the threshold into different rooms and that is how it knows when to start playing the next recording. It will automatically go on its own as you walk through. It was very fascinating the way that they lived there on the sub. If you have mobility problems of any kind or are a very tall person, walking through the submarine is going to be very hard for you. I am 5ft 10in tall and I had to duck and maneuver pretty good to get in and out of the doorway openings to the next rooms. I hit my shoulder on one door so please watch your step and be careful as you walk through. Then you can go into the building with the museum. It starts forward and to the left and you loop around for general submarine stuff, and a little bit of WWII stuff. Then you cross over to begin the cold war era and modern submarines. So it goes from WWII to present day on everything submarine in this museum. You walk up to the sign and there is a number at the bottom that you type into your audio tour for this section. There is a lot of information in here that you could spend multiple hours. It was all so very interesting and I learned so much more than I did before. Any history buff, WWII buff, or navy buff would really enjoy this museum. However I will note there is a lot of walking around and virtually no areas to sit down so be aware of that. In between the museum and the sub there is a gift shop and a café. Overall I would highly recommend this museum as it was so interesting and different!

You know when a museum is worth the visit when you leave learning something new. Self guided audio tours are included in the entrance and are an amazing source of knowledge regarding the submarine Bowfin. The tour of the actual sub is not that long. You only go through one floor of the sub. However, if you come during the day the views of Pearl Harbor on the bow of the sub are amazing and worth a picture. Due note that prior to entering the sub they take a picture of you and embedd it in a faux newspaper of Dec. 7th (well worth it). Kudos to the staff that maintains the ship. It is impeccable! You can continue your visit with a few outside exhibits featuring various torpedos and submarine equipment. Inside the museum you will find a plethora of information regarding the rile submarines in WW2 and during the cold war. There is a nice gift shop with the typical merchandise. A yummy food truck are on site. There is even a cool playground for the kids to run out their energy.

A must do when visiting pearl harbor. Wouldn't prioritize ahead of Arizona or uss Missouri but definitely don't skip out. Expect 60-90 min if you go at your leisure in the sub and museum.

Decent little hike. It is only like 1.8 miles round trip. A little muddy and some steep parts but not bad. The water fall was a little small and disappointing but the pool at the bottom was cool to sit in.

Gorgeous views through the entire trek up the mountain to see the waterfall. Would do it again. Be prepared for lots of mud on your shoes and some slippery slopes that you can tell they try to maintain.

Amazing hike that everyone can do! There is a bus that takes you near the entrance to the trail and parking is $7. Put on a lot of bug-spray and wear shoes you are willing to get muddy as it is like walking through a very humid muddy trail. Also it felt like I was in Jurassic Park.

This was a beautiful hike! Very easy and the views are spectacular the whole way there. The greenery was so beautiful! It does get pretty crowded so go earlier in the day, especially if you want to get pictures with the waterfall.

Completely underrated area. A must go! Here’s the scoops, it’s $7 per car and a 30 min hike to the falls. It’s not stroller or wheelchair friendly. We took our 1.5 year old in a carrier. I would highly suggest a good carrier. Wear a good pair of gym shoes you’re OK with getting dirty. The hike up is steep muddy and a ton of rocks. The falls are beautiful.

The hike was good. The distance wasn't too long, and the grade wasn't too difficult. There was plenty of covering to protect from the sun or the random shower storm. We really enjoyed the view of the mountains and the forest at the beginning of the hike. The waterfall was average at best. We've seen some more impressive waterfalls in Canada and Taiwan. But the view and experience up the trail was memorable. Also, we were glad the guy collecting the parking fees had mosquito spray for sale because you will need it.

It was the best experience our family has had! The hike was a big success when we finally got to the top. It's definitely a must when visiting Hawaii! Good shoes, water, sunscreen, and bug spray are required! We did have to pay for parking. Good military discount! Little ones will get a big tired.

The falls are very beautiful! It costs $7 to park and isn’t current closed for construction. The hike is a bit muddy and can be a bit steep at points. There is some small wildlife in the trail. It’s a nice hike, took us around an hour to an hour and a half.

This hike can be quite the hike in terms of exercise, plan to walk through some muddy parts, and there are mosquitoes so be wary of that. It is well worth the trip, I highly recommend it for nature lovers and tree lovers. I think I enjoyed the forest just as much as I did the view of the falls.

Nice hike, about 2.5 miles round-trip. We had a perfect day, no infamous mud on the trail. Locals said it was a rare day with no rain in the mountains. Also visited arboretum / botanical garden near the trail start.

Very nice trail, if it is rainy bit slipery, you have parking there, not much people on the trail, very green and lush rainforest, falls itself I guess it depends on recent rainfall level, so it is likely to look like gardenhose instead of proper falls :) Anyways worth the walk just for the scenery and nature.

One thing to note is that the trail is not paved, so proper footwear is essential. Also, carrying mosquito repellent is highly recommended, as the natural setting is home to these pesky insects. For convenience, there is a restroom available, which is always appreciated on a hike. There's a gift shop where you can pick up a souvenir or a snack.

If your goal is to see the waterfall, you will be disappointed. If your goal is the trail, it is a great choice for a family hike. If you are wearing new shoes, I would like to block you. Parking fee is 4 dollars.

It is a place surrounded by trees, humid, and has fresh air. Even though I went when it was raining, I wasn't disappointed. You should prepare good shoes because most of the path is dirt and rocks. I went when it was raining so it was a little wet. If the waterfall has a lot of water, it will be very beautiful.

If it's rained in the last day or so, don't wear flip flops or sandals. Don't take the stroller or the cute little designer dog. We went, and it lightly rained off & on. It was a little muddy but not crazy. Try to walk slow and look around. Bamboo, old forrest, wildlife, etc.

Walking around this very solemn cemetery is a very humbling experience and it sends deep emotions to the core, especially for us Filipinos who are indebted to the brave American saviours during WW2. There is a mural of the Philippines on the wall and on another part of the cemetery is a slab of concrete placed on the ground that immortalized the relationship between the US and the Philippines. There's also a chapel that offers a quiet place to pray and reflect. Be it known, too that the washrooms are very clean. I highly recommend to visit this site when visiting Oahu. It is located close to downtown so it is very accessible.

Beautiful resting place to honor those that sacrificed so much and well maintained! Only a short drive from Honolulu. The short drive leading up to the cemetery was gorgeous you should pull over and enjoy the stunning view. The staff was courteous and respectful. The service was simple but perfect!

What a surreal experience and a must see for anyone visiting the island! I have 2 grandfathers that were in WW2, one was stationed in the Philippines, so this was a special sight for me to explore.

This is a must see for all people. The men and women who died protecting us, this country, are buried here (along with their families in some cases). Ernie Pyle, World War I veteran, Purple Heart, WWII war correspondence, who was killed by a sniper, is buried here. Many who died during the attack on Pearl Harbor are here. Visit and pay your respects.

An absolutely stunning and well-kept final resting place for many of our heroes. The grounds are immaculate. There are numerous markers and plaques dedicated to units who participated in the Pacific campaign. There is also a very nice large lookout point that offers views of the entire Honolulu downtown and Diamondhead. A little off the beaten path, but well worth the time and effort - you won't be disappointed.

I've been coming here for years and the place is very well kept up and lovely. I'm not dismissing the grounds for what it truly is. Today was just the strangest incident ever. I was with a co-worker of mine at the memorial and a few of the staff asked us to leave due to "loitering". There wasn't any talking, music playing, or anything that would be considered disrespectful from our end. There wasn't any event or many people around (maybe 3 others in the area overall). I've never heard of a time limit that you can stay until it's considered "loitering". It's 3:16PM on a regular Monday afternoon. I even double checked the rules on the walk out to see what the potential issue was. This whole situation was extremely strange and wrong. Gene and Mike are an embarrassment to this memorial and to the Hawaiian people.

Beautiful and peaceful cemetery to honor our heroes. Kiosks were available to find the final resting location for our departed. We were not able to find Section C. According to the map, Section C is where the new interment area is being built. The visitor center has a very nice display of real artifacts from our Medal of Honor Recipients. 🇺🇲🎖️

I visited Punchbowl on February 15, 2024. I was there to pay respect to the fallen soldiers. I wish the construction site had better looking signs.

This place is monumental! The thought and care that was put into this layout of honoring our men and women that have fought for our freedoms is impeccable! So many points of interest on this volcano crater. The lookouts over the city are expansive as you can see Diamond Head on one end and Pearl Harbor at the other end. And the Honolulu skyscrapers fill the gap in the middle as they tease the point where the horizon meets the ocean line. Then when you walk the grounds and see all the headstones that adorn the lawn…you feel a real sense of reverence and respect for our fallen soldiers. And the chapel and mosaic war map murals that fill the forward monument are amazing pieces of art. I also took in all the carved walls of names of WORLD WAR heroes. This is an incredible place to find a moment of meditation, reflection, and gratitude for all the blessings we have due to those that have fought before us.

My wife and I were at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu today. We walked up the steps and visited the memorial halls for the missing, the chapel, and then the beautiful mosaics. We were walking along the exterior road to the scenic overlook when a gentleman from the security company pulled up in a gray sedan and started questioning us and accused us of loitering. He hassled us about it and said we had to leave. I said I’d never had this issue at other National Cemeteries and he said, “that’s the main land.” He then followed us closely while we returned to the center to leave. I called the cemetery administration to complain and the first gentleman was very interested and seemed concerned but then transferred me to a higher up (Mr M something) who seemed to want to tell me why we were loitering or the guard perceived us as exercising. We are a married couple in our 40’s and I’m a disabled vet with sketchy knees and a bad shoulder. There was no exercising. He then started saying all he could hear was my wife (talking to the driver as we left - as asked) and basically I should call back. I’ve been to Arlington, Gettysburg, and Fort Rosecrans among others. My Grandfather is buried at Fort Custer in Battle Creek, MI. I’ve never been hassled by a private security guard at any of these National Cemeteries and told to leave. We came to pay our respects and the beautiful scenery while marveling at the magnificent monuments to our fallen. I wanted to pay my respects to Ernie Pyle. Instead I was disrespected and thrown out of a National Cemetery.

Best and biggest outdoor shopping center in the world!! Located near Waikiki, and across from a beach park, and a marina. Very clean. Upscale look. Felt very safe to shop around. Lots of free parking. So many stores!! So many restaurants!! Loved their main Food Court on the Lower Level for delicious, fresh, food! Food Court is huge, and affordable. Loved watching the free entertainment located at the Center Stage near the Food Court. The Hula dancers were wonderful. This place was awesome to visit!!

Fabulous indoor/outdoor mall. High-end retailers; Tesla, Dior, Michael Kors, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and many more. Multiple food courts with ample variety of tastes. Live music and great people watching.

Very clean, beautiful, convenient to Ala Moana Hotel with tons of high end commercial shops/food options. We were disappointed not to have local shops/products for average people. The food court outside of Macy’s was our absolute highlight with more local food options for reasonable prices. Clean restrooms. Loved the coy water features and details to include natural elements to soften the stark commercial feel of the businesses. Cleaning staff were everywhere and very polite/hard working.

This is one of the best places in Waikiki, this place gives you shopping areas as well as a hangout place. Great selections of restaurants and food. A very busy and lively place to relax. Walking distance and lots of commercial areas, close to beach and park, great place.

A giant shopping center that has many different categories of retail shops. It is an outdoor shopping plaza that has multiple Floors. From luxury brands to Common brands so there is always something for everyone to enjoy while browsing through this Shopping Center. There is a huge parking lot located in the plaza I didn't take too much time navigating it but I think it has several floors as well for parking. If you're into shopping this is the one place that you may actually spend a whole day exploring.

The largest shopping center in Hawaii. You can find some of the finest products and brands. Of course, expensive. Service is good. Plan to spend a whole day. It has many food options. However, It doesn't have many dedicated areas for children and families, which is not good for family shoppers. Also, I would recommend bringing Nike, Adidas, Banana Republic, Puma, Disney, or some other popular brands for targeted customers to attract more people.

It's actually doing well this is kind of new. Most malls are dieing but this one is thriving. It is definitely upscale and geared towards tourist but they do a small luau display in the evening. You'll find shops for everyone here.

Very big and spacious. Lots of shops, restaurants and people. As we exit ABC shop, we saw people gathering at the stage. So we joined the crowd. Luckily, we did not miss the event , - presentation of Polynesian dances. We enjoy the show. Really a great day spent .

An old fashioned but very conveniently located shopping centre that has got almost anything you wish to buy and want to eat. There’s a vast food centre that has scores of stalls offering good value for money and great variety of food.

One of the largest outdoor shopping malls in the world, anything you need is available here. Beautiful shops and department stores with expansive clean outdoor corridors seem endless while walking along the shopping mall.

Great selection of designer boutiques, department stores, other shops and food outlets. A nice place to walk around to pass time and find random bits and pieces you knew you need or wanted. Don’t go expecting that most shops would have sales/discounts on.

Huge mall, but very confusing layout! They have all the stores you would usually want at the mall, plus huge designer brands, Foodland Farms, Target, and so many dining options! It's a hub just to chill, eat, and shop! There is a huge playground on the 3rd floor by Target.

We went to dinner at Olive Garden, which is located inside The Moana Center. This place is basically a mall. I am impressed. I love the decor of all the individual stores. There were several open-air restaurants, one of which had live entertainment. I have never heard of several of these stores, but they look inviting (they were closed for the day). I will go back and visit them in the next few days. ***Update We went back the next day and had lunch at Charley's in the food court. We walked around for a while, looking at all the different stores. We had heard about pineapple whips, so we stopped and tried it. Omg! Pineapple Whips are delicious! There was a hula dance show at the center. It was really nice. I really like this center. They have something for everyone. It's very clean. People are nice and courtiest.

While numerous other shopping centers nationwide are dying, Ala Moana Center surges forward since 1959 with heavy foot traffic and hardly any vacant store fronts. Its central location (close to the edge of Waikiki on one side) and between busy Ala Moana Boulevard & Kapiolani Boulevard, make Ala Moana Center a huge magnet for local shoppers and tourists. // I love the huge food court (Makai Market) with its numerous dining options. And the central stage often features live entertainment (usually contemporary Hawaiian song and dance or more traditional hula.) While I'm not a fan of the high-end, pricey boutiques, there are many other stores in this large open-air shopping complex to keep you occupied. I also appreciate the koi pond and the well-maintained plants and greenery. And people-watching here can't be beat!

Visit: November 2023 If you lioe malls, this is definitely a place you'd like. They have a wide variety of stores, and the mall is open to the outside (careful if it rains), but this provides a unique experience where you're able to get fresh air while you peruse different stores. There's also an underground section with many stores and a large food court with a ton of food options. Also a food Foodland grocery store attached which is convenient

It's been almost 3 months that I haven't stepped on land. got lucky for having a dinner off,so the adventure starts went to Ala Moana center Hawaii. having spicy lunch in one Thai restaurant dinner Mexican food cart. The night off was really good.. the shopping center was exquisite. Shopping some personal stuff in one of the mall. The staff was so helpful... good job 👏 👍

Huge mall with tons of stuff to do. We had a blast in the Uniqlo store making custom tshirts, and gorged ourselves in the food court near Macy's. Love this mall!

This mall is absolutely wonderful! The selection of stores is great. The mall itself is in a fantastic location and very well maintained! I definitely recommend coming here!

This is a VERY big mall and for this 70+-year-old, getting around is daunting. There is a lovely koi pond. You will find every store on the planet at this mall, from Walmart to Chanel and every other high-end outlet. I visited Target and the Lanai food court. I regretted the food, as it was low quality, but there are many food outlets, so some are bound to be good. The mall is easy to get to by bus.

Excellent super market with lots of prepared foods including Asian, American, European, etc. the selections are amazing. Highly recommend and a must stop and shop if you’re visiting and a resident.

Did the zoo experience. Did get hot so try and get early. The place is huge so wear comfy shoes and apply lots of sunscreen. Some of the exhibits were closed but had a good time.

Not too big, not too small... walking paths were easy and not confusing... no rhino or warthog. Information plaques were nice, and fencing type allowed for good visibility of most animals. It's definitely a good stop for the kids, etc.

Really Great way to spend a day, not too big and not too small. Great play area for smaller kids. Lots of shade on a hot day. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Yummy dessert options. The grounds and floral are Beautiful.
