It is completely our fault for realizing not a lot is open this time of year and NOTHING is open after 5pm. Fortunately, we had not yet bought tickets. So we bought the self-guided audio walking tour from Action Tour Guide. I loved it. The 12 year old was bored and the 16 year was nostalgic from when she came with grandparents when she was younger. Not a criticism, just a heads-up.

Colonial Williamsburg exceeded expectations by far. I thought it was just going to be a tourist trap, but it wasn’t. Even the service at the ticket counter was super nice. The tickets are expensive but worth it if you spend the entire day. We walked over on the path from the welcome center, but there is also a shuttle. Our first stop was the governors palace. We attended a talk by Patrick Henry, and then we did a tour of the governors palace. Christine did a fantastic job. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and nice to my kids. There are places to eat right offsite or in “town.” You can find the open exhibits because they have a flag outside. You cannot do everything in one day, so prioritize what you want to see.

Amazing and beautiful! Our family loves Williamsburg. An awesome opportunity to teach your littles a piece of history or maybe learn a little more yourself! You don’t need to purchase tickets to walk around but if you want to tour the insides or certain buildings you will need to purchase tickets online or at the visitor center. You can walk to the colonial town from the merchant square or if you start at the visitor center you walk over the bridge and start from there. There are shuttles as well that can take you to and from the historic area. Definitely worth the visit if you enjoy history!

Efficient handling of visitors with friendly, cheerful staff. Wonderful treatment of Veterans, including annual pass for the price of a single visit (one multi-day pass). Bright and comfortable environment.

Informative and fun place to visit. Be sure to get at least the one day pass in order to get the full effect of the many docents and role players throughout the site. You can park and walk for free, but you need a pass to enter most of the historic buildings. See artisans at work: printers, blacksmiths, carpenters, bakers, homeowners, etc etc. You also get to ride the shuttle buses with a paid ticket. You can expect to do a lot of walking. NOTE: MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS are the days off for all of the main restaurants and some of the historic homes. You can take the shuttle or walk to the market area which is technically outside the historic district, and find some restaurants open. Also, if you are active, retired or a military vet, you will get discounts on admission and in any of the merchant stores. There's also a USO style building with free coffee and drinks. If you have a challenge coin, bring it and they will trade it for one of theirs. There's a wall full of ones that vets have brought in. All of this will be explained by the friendly ticket agents at the welcome center. You can avoid waiting in line by buying tickets online, but we had a lot more information from the live folks. All of the period costumed staff throughout the site are more than willing to assist with any questions you might have.

I went with my husband to see if I would enjoy it for a second time 25 years later. It did not disappoint. If you want to go on any tours such as a carriage ride or night ghost tour you need to book them in advance, they were sold out when we got there for the day. We did the guided tours watched Thomas Jefferson on the stage and enjoyed walking the town. We didn't pay attention to time and missed the taverns open hours so we picked up a few snacks from the bakery.

I'm not a big fan of roller coasters, though I did ride a couple. Even without riding many rides this is a beautiful place and a great way to spend your day. Definitely an experience! Plenty of good food as well.

Great time to visit. No waiting in long lines to ride. Only downfall, it was too hot. Having water cups available was great! Had a medical situation. The Busch Gardens employees at The Magic Shop went above and beyond with the attention and concern that was shown. EMT Alex was very attentive and thorough. Transportation to parking was provided by EMT Supervisor Ralph. Every courtesy that was extended was greatly appreciated.

We had a great time! It was very busy, however that was because of high schools bands having a competition. It was nice to see kids running around having a great time. I grew up going to Busch gardens in Florida, and this was my first visit to Williamsburg. We will definitely go again on our next visit.

They were having there St. Patrick Day celebration and all the rides were not opened, but had fun, if going all day during the summer to ride all the rides opening till closing would recommend to get the food pass for $30 more but you get a full meal every 90 minutes. Enjoyed everything even the dinner theater show while eating. Hope to come back soon!!

This park was beautiful!! The rides have a nice array of thrill to chill that I love the variety. The food here was amazing! I recommend you get the all day meal plan , it is so worth the money! The shows we saw were top notch! The themes for the countries seemed very authentic and custom to the region you were in. If you are going to watch the fireworks we recommend using the bridge for the best view. But while everyone is watching those the ride lines open up a bit. The only issue we incurred while there was that they didn't have many shirts in large size, because they had sold out. I would definitely come back and bring my family!!

My family and I went yesterday 7/4/23, our tickets were discounted for military appreciation and we got 10% off for purchases made in the park. My family had a ball. There was plenty to do for all ages of my family. My husband and I have a 3,8,and 9 year old my mother also attended with us.The food was great. We can’t wait to go back

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is my favorite theme park. Emphasis on theme because this park nails the theme in each of the areas. Every area focuses on a specific area of Europe. The rides are a lot of fun, many of them are kid friendly. The thrill rides are also great, providing different levels of excitement for everyone. Employees are friendly and helpful, making sure the experience is special for every guest. We also participated in the steam engine train tour. This was really special. Recommend for any train enthusiast. They take you into the train depot and show you the engine and teach you about how it works. The tour guide who led us on the tour was very friendly and even gave us a quick queue on a ride while waiting for the train.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful amusement parks. Lots of trees and lots of shade to avoid the heat if needed. Lots and very fun roller coasters to enjoy. Has a lot of children rides to offer as well. Great entertainment and fantastic seasonal activities all year long. Highly recommend!

It was the last weekend of Howl-o-scream so it was busy for sure. We got there around 11 with a plan to stay through the 6pm change over from the amusement park to scream fest. It was the best choice. This allowed us to get on a lot of rides with little to no wait. As the day progressed the lines got longer and longer but we didn't care as we had already done the rides. We were off to enjoy food and shows. Speaking of shows, don't miss the Skeletones....they were great! By the time we had eaten, played games, and caught a few shows; it was 15 minutes before the spooky started so we headed right for the witch in the woods and Nevermore. We were able to do both with no wait but by the time we came out of the second one, the lines were huge. The park continued to fill up even as we left at 9 and there were cars lined up as far as the highway trying to get in at 9pm! Overall, it was a fantastic day, great food, great shows, and great actors for the Howl-O-Scream. We will be making this an annual trip for this event!

We love BG! We live locally so we visit often. The most recent visit was with a 5yo and 3yo. Plenty of rides and activities for each of their ages. It's quite a bit of hilly walking so definitely bring a wagon/stroller for little ones. Bring your own water bottle(s) and pack snacks if you don't want to spend your life savings on food.

Always a great place to take the whole family to. They have many ways to get around the park to include a train. They also shuttle to and from the Germany, Italy, and Ireland parking lots If you’re a single rider like my self the have a lane for that for most of the roller coasters. Food and drinks are also affordable, but I’d recommend buying a food pass.

I used to work in Busch Gardens Williamsburg for 5 months, and I had a chance to ride every single roller coaster again and again :) Best time is to come at opening and you start with every country to explore the entire park. Spend the entire day if you want to have the most fun and experience the park. Buy yourself the express pass, because the lines are long long long. Save money on food or gifts if you, need to... but buy the pass. I have been here few to visit the park after, because it is definitely the best amusement park in the US. I also visited the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay which very fun, but this park is better.

One of my all time favorite parks! There's a reason it's been rated the WORLD'S most beautiful theme park for 33 YEARS straight! Great rides, great food and atmosphere. I could live in the park if they'd let me!

Busch Gardens is one of the most beautiful amusement parks I have been to. You can go on roller coasters and rides; some of my favorites are Finnegan’s Flyer & Invader. You can enjoy shows with spectacular actors and singers. And they have food corresponding to the different European countries the areas the park is based off of. I recommend purchasing the all day dining pass so that you can have the option to eat every 90 minutes. You must go here if you are visiting or local!

Lovely park. Nowhere near the world's most attractive, despite the awards, but it's in the top of 20. Despite the blistering heat, the staff were mostly happy to help and the restrooms very clean and fresh. There's free water at every soda fountain location and snacks, etc. The ride queues are woefully inaccurate (both ways) and the fast track very expensive. It's possibly my favourite Busch park.

Lots of fun. The coasters are all amazing. Went for Halloween on a Thursday and there were only a couple of rides with long(ish) wait times. It is hard to navigate at night with all the lights off. We kept going in circles and probably missed half the park

The Christmas town was great. The concept of different countries was exciting.The rides were amazing. It's a good place to have fun during the holidays with kids especially. They will enjoy it thoroughly.

I have always loved this theme park. I took my 4 kids (12, 9, 7 and 5) for Christmas town and it was a blast with huge variety of entertainment and rides open. They constantly update rides and have managed the lines really well. The only reason why I left it at 4 stars is because the bathrooms need more attention for cleanliness, the little kids rides need more people to help put them on and take them off (the wait time to get them in and out was far longer than the rode itself). Again it was still a great time and I highly recommend visiting!

Returning to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for the Christmas season was a revelation. Having visited in the past, I thought I knew what to expect, but the park's transformation for the holidays was nothing short of magical. A really beautiful park!! We really enjoyed walking through the different countries as they are well decorated. We also were pleasantly surprised that we had no wait times on any of the rides. The service was really hit or miss… several people were super kind and nice and others were clearly not thrilled to be there. But overall, a very positive experience!! Looking forward to coming back

We bought the combined Williamsburg Busch Garden pass. When driving in stay all the way to the LEFT when crowded because 4 extra lanes open up. Excellent park to please everyone. Lots of wild roller coasters and plenty of other exhibits to see like the wolves, owls, Clydesdales, Border collies, horned sheep. Plus several shows to see. Loved the Celtic dancing. Great restaurants and large quantities at reasonable prices. If you are there for the whole day I recommend the $50 all you can eat. 90 minute wait after ordering. Get entry, side or dessert and drink each time. If you just eat twice you more than cover the cost and quantities are enough to share especially if you are eating every 90 minutes. The Smoke House sampler plate was the best. And the cake in the German Fest hall was huge. We really enjoyed the Clyde’s and collies tour that was extra but kids really enjoyed petting the horses and feeding the sheep. Linh was a very knowledgeable tour guide. Best time to visit is when it rains in the morning. Our second day there were no cars in line and they sent us to preferred parking because they didn’t want to run the tram with no customers. No wait to get in the park. It was empty so the best time to ride when the rain stopped.

They have become cashless since the last time I went about 10 years ago. Some waits are longer than others. I felt safe on the roller-coasters. They make sure everyone is the correct size and that everything latches. I have only 2 real complaints: the lines should be supervised because there are multiple rides where teens were skipping in line. Seriously skipping the line, like 20-50 people at a time when the lines curved back into themselves, and no one stopped them. The bathrooms could be cleaner.

Me and my family do trips here at least three times a year and we do our boys trip here for two days out of the year! We have been here for howl scream and all and have to say this is one of the best parks to come too and cleanest. I rather come to this park than any other parks around! Everyone here that works here always has a smile on there faces and will always give great advice and directions if you get lost. And definitely the best ride to ride first. Best part to bring your family, friends, spouse kids.

As awesome as it was since the first time I went there 35 years ago. It’s gotten consistently better as the years have gone on. The countries as well as the roller coasters have been added to over the years. The food offerings continue to be updated. I always enjoy my visits

I hate to say it, but Christmas Town just isn't as nice as it used to be. I'm glad we got tickets on sale and not at full price. Parking is $30 just for the general lot. In fairness, if you have the full season pass, your general parking costs are included & there is no additional charge for Christmas Town visits. Having been to Christmas Town before, I was expecting so much more than what was presented. There weren't as many displays as previous times and many lights were either broken or simply not turned on. The shops also didn't have much Christmas merchandise with the exception of one store in Germany. It just seemed very lackluster overall. Also, my husband and another gentleman behind him both almost fell in the bathroom due to wet toilet paper being all over the floor. The women's restroom was quite clean. The hot chocolate was pretty good, I did buy a cute Christmas decor item and the light show on Escape from Pompeii was awesome! Honestly, I just don't think it was worth the cost this year.

My family visited on December 30, 2023 to experience Christmas Town 🎄 ✨️ ❤️. Busch Gardens has always been a family favorite since I was a small child and continues to be as I am now a mother of teen children. The only reason for 4/5 stars is the expense. Like all theme parks, prices are much higher for food, tickets, and shops. Other than that, this park is well maintained and gorgeous anytime of the year. Several coasters are available for thrill seekers as well as mellow rides for those who just want to sit back. The park offers several options for small children. Throughout the park, there are places for resting and areas for shopping. Take 👟 good walking shoes as the park is NOT flat. Hills are throughout the park. If visiting during the summer, you'll also want to bring water friendly shoes too such as flip flops. Lockers are available to store items if you don't want them to get wet or to carry them around the park. Strollers are available to rent for the day. Bags 🎒 are permitted, but are subject to a search upon entry.

Amazing experience, a place of fun for all ages. All the staff who work there are very friendly. you can get all kinds of food and a lot of variety. : Italian, German, Dutch, American.

Enjoyed going to Christmas Town. The last time I went was 2009! Didn’t have to wait very long for rides. Saw some of the animals. Family members enjoyed shopping in the boutiques. Some fun shows around the park. We did the Santa experience and the fireside feast. The Santa experience was short and not a lot of value for the price. The fireside feast was a bit better though manage your expectations on the food. Thought it was a bit rude how people left right after eating and didn’t even wait for Santa to say goodbye. We loved the way Santa read the Christmas story.

It was incredible to see the area first colonized in the USA. The day was perfect, weather-wise, and there was so much to see. The best part was the gentleman native American explaining how he was making an arrowhead in the traditional way. He showed and explained the tools he was using and how he was using them. He even explained the action to flake off pieces of stone to shape and sharpen it. You enter through the main building and purchase tickets. They give you a sticker to wear as proof you paid. It's dog friendly and there is a gift shop/ post office inside. After passing through the building you walk across a long walking bridge. The tall obelisk is the first thing you see, then just beyond it is the church and you walk into the original Jamestown settlement. Beyond it is the building with artifacts. There are plenty of benches to sit and rest while you watch the ferries go by. It was cool with the breeze coming off the water.

Absolutely amazing place. It's so interesting to see the remnants of this country's origins. The archaeologists love taking questions and everyone there is so well-informed and just eager to share with you. Some of the archaeologists had actually found a couple of pieces while we were there and they showed them to us. It was a wonderful experience.

Historic Jamestown is maintained by the National Park Service. Excavations are ongoing. Jamestown is the beginning of America. It is another story of the early struggles of the first settlers. There are lots to see and learn. The first fort on American soil is here. The first mansions are here. It is the story of people coming from all nations for a new beginning and contributing what they bring to the development of a new nation. I wholly recommend this tour.

I would give it 5 stars but they have fenced off the best parts of the historic areas requiring a separate $15.00 entry fee. I was told this started in October 2023. Sort of a shame what the powers to be did here.

The kids had a blast taking in our nation's history. What a fun way to bring our texts books to life! I would recommend good walking shoes as most is gravel and a good refillable water bottle. Restrooms are clean but not all around so potty before heading to the sites! Bring a camera the views are amazing.

Very well cared for park. Plenty of educational materials posted around the grounds. It was fun to see active archeological activities still occurring. The Park Ranger talk was very informative and engaging. It wasn't overly crowded even on a holiday weekend. Definitely recommend a visit.

This is an awesome place just to walk the grounds to see everything restored and preserved from over 400 years ago. The view of the James River is beautiful, and it must have been very interesting starting the first permanent English settlement in North America back in 1607.

I haven't been back here for 30 years since I was a child, and I returned today with my kid and got to relive my childhood. Place looks so much better than what I remember as far as the museum areas go, and I'm happy they got as much going on as they do as this is an excellent place to preserve. Would highly recommend and I'm more than likely to come back with the family to tour the grounds a little more slowly. Had a wonderful time!

This is the original Jamestown settlement. There is the US National Park and the Preservation Virginia area. There are two separate admissions. The Preservation Virginia side host the Archaearium Archaeology Museum, the Memorial Church, statues of John Smith and Pocahontas, and a fort replica. The National Park side has an obelisk monument and the grounds of the new Jamestown Settlement.

If you are a military family the entrance will be free for all of the member of the family. That itself deserves a five star! Most of the interesting things to see are outside so if you are afraid of Covid, go there confident. At the entrance of the welcome center, someone is at the ready to answer any questions before you buy your tickets. We experienced NO wait, maybe because we traveled there before Christmas and during weekday. Inside the welcoming center, there is a very cute souvenir store. There is also like a video room but that was closed — probably due to Covid restrictions. Outside was lots of fun. The kids loved it. The excavation site was fascinating for them. They also simply loved running around and see the canon and statue of the first governor of Virginia. I recommend that outing.

So awe-inspiring. To see where a nation first began is a piece of history you cannot replace. The interpreters are amazing and full of so much information. To think that the first English settlers also walked around here is thought-provoking. Well kept and rebuilt pieces of history.

The location has so much historical significance and they have done such a wonderful job exploring and preserving and presenting it. We were there for 5 hours and could have spent much longer. They currently have ranger lead programs 10, 1:30 & 3:30, but they said to call beforehand as the schedule changes daily. The National park pass receives 50% off admission.

It's great to see the oldest English settlement in America. Much of the fort has been recreated for you to visit and there are a few original areas including some stone foundations, early graves, and some brickwork. The museum included lots of original artifacts and also some skeletons from original settlers who had been identified using historical records and scientific analysis. The cafe was FANTASTIC. Really great soups and sandwiches. Overall, this was great value - about half the price of visiting Williamsburg, and much more interesting in my opinion. Also, kids get in for free! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The ticket staff helped my parents obtain a discount.

Loved this place it has 2 museums one tou walk through to get to the out side settlement and one just off to the side in the settlement. They also have a live archeology dig they let you(kids) help with.its right by the water and just a nice place to walk in the grounds flat so it's not a hard walk. It's not to bad of a distance to walk neither with lots of shady spots to set and rest.i highly recommend to get a pass such as the triangle pass. But if that to high they offer other opinions. It covers all museums ,reenactment , and touts.

It was cool. Where comfy shoes, not saddles bc it is quite a walk to see all the exhibits and lots of gravel pathways. I appreciate how much available seating sprinkled about so when you get tired from walking and need a break, a bench isn't far away. You can tell they took care and time setting up the exhibits. It is easy to understand the history that took place here.

The site itself is pretty cool, albeit presented without much fanfare. Favorite part is definitely the archaeological museum that they have, whose staff are top notch knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to - in particular one Native speaker, I believe his name was also Daniel, gave one of the most in depth looks into the history of the first peoples here I'd ever heard.

Great park to walk around and enjoy views of the river and learn the founding history of Virginia and the US. Dog-friendly in the outdoor areas only. Military families are welcomed for free!

Came for the history. Stayed for the history. Left cause the pork and beans. Great place. BYOF (Bring your own food!) Military is free. But also, free for up to 3 adult guests w/ each military personnel as well. They don’t say that on the website.

Probably the weakest link of the Colonial Triangle, but still a fascinating place to visit. The Church is probably the focal point of the site, but there is still a lot of history to be seen here, and ongoing archaeological work being done to unearth even more. There is also a Wildlife Loop on the site with some very beautiful scenery, and 3 old graves.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! This is a MUST for schools whether local, or even out of state!! The knowledge found here for children and adults is beyond comprehension! This information is HISTORY IN THE MAKING!! To have visited today and having met a few of the archaeological team currently digging to continuously unearth artifacts dating back some 400+ years to earlier settlers of the Colonial Era when John Smith uprooted the Fort there at Jamestown, and well, … it quite breathtaking for a historian such as I to be standing in a place where the first democracy took shape. There are absolutely no words to express the surrealism of standing in this place. But then to turn and see the name of your ancestors on the wall or yet the very root of your family’s last name and thus your heritage, right there … it’s astounding!! When visiting Williamsburg, VA I recommend staying at Aldrich Bed & Breakfast where you have the opportunity of selecting several personal guided tours from Mr. Tom Patton, he and his wife Sue Patton are the Innkeepers. Mr. Patton is a Licensed Tour Guide. You have the opportunity of selecting a tour of Jamestown Island, Colonial Williamsburg, and/or Yorktown with Mr. Tom Patton. Feel free to visit their website aldrichhouse dot com. Mr. Patton has a knack for making the history of Williamsburg come alive as you tour, ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. You literally feel as though you are there during that period!

Love the Jamestowne settlement attractions. The National Parks did a great job as always. The Jamestowne Settlement is also a great place to visit. (2 different places) The actors did a great job in character and the tour guides were great also. There is so much to see and learn. Amazing to be there and learn the history. Loved it!

Very nice museum both inside and out! We ended up skipping the videos, spent about 3 hours walking around looking at the exhibits. There are quite a bit of interactive displays inside; and the people dressed in role player costumes are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and present with sincere enthusiasm.

This was a great place to bring kids and learn important historical info about the first American settlement. They did a great job with all the recreations and all the actors that were dressed up were very informative and stayed in character. The indoor museum and gift shop were also very well laid out and interesting. Highly recommend!

Nice museum! There are two fun movies to watch, interesting things inside and outside. There's a restaurant near the entrance with nice food. We had a fun time! A few hours was more than enough

Very interesting place to visit if you want to understand the history of the settlers in the United States. It was fascinating seeing how people built and lived in a community before modern technology. This is a nice place to stroll leisurely through history. I highly recommend visiting this historical location and seeing what it took to survive in a transitional period.

Jamestown was a great experience, especially for the kids. There's a lot to take in but the kids can touch a lot of it which makes it feel like a real experience. The kids loved putting on the armor and hats and really enjoyed the ship. The indoor exhibit was insightful and interesting as well. The people who were giving demonstrations were great at telling their stories and showing us what the tools were used for, how the bartering system worked and more. You need at least half a day to see and be able to appreciate the whole experience. The cafe had a lot of options to choose from. There are deli sandwiches, hot grilled food, salads, desserts and even snack items for quick bites. The gift shop near the entrance of the lobby when you first arrive is very nice. There was a lot of things to look at and the kids loved looking around and picking out their gifts. There are so many neat toys and books for the little ones.

Interesting place to spend a few hours. Replicas of the ships the first settlers to the United States used, people in period correct costumes sharing knowledge, a village, shot tower, and an indoor museum going back to pre-settlement. Excellent for children and adults alike.

This place was amazing! There is so much to see and do! One of the highlights going with 2 kids and my mother was the abundance of air conditioning options (and cafe) if it gets too hot! The actors were really friendly and informative. Everything was clean and wasn't hard to locate at all! We loved the interactive games outside also! While we were there it wasn't overly crowded. We got in at 9 and we're able to get front row parking and had time to see the entire place before it started filling up with people! Even after, it is a great experience!

It was an amazing experience. Looking back to history. Visualizing how British has started colonization in North America. Understanding and thinking about those old days how people survived. Overall it was a great experience.

Excellent activity. Ships, fort, and museum are a must visit in this area. The cafeteria food was excellent and reasonably priced for a tourist area. Also offered a veteran’s discount.

Loved every second of my four hour visit here. Could have stayed longer. At first I wasn't sure about having to take a guided tour for the outdoor exhibits (in certain weeks in winter they don't allow you to meander around), but I am actually really happy I was offered a tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable, the interpreters were fantastic fun and I didn't want to leave. The ships and the Fort were definitely highlights. The indoor exhibits are also well done and everything is spotless. Great for all ages. It looks like they experience large crowds in peak season, if that's not your thing plan a visit on a winter weekday and you won't be disappointed.

It was a great experience. We purchased the american historic triangle tickets for multiple places and it was the best bang for the buck. The town, fort and ships were awesome!

Wonderful museum. It really gives you a well rounded view of the history. My favorite "thing" was the obelisk. It's an interesting celebration erected at the 350 year anniversary. The Cafe was also liked by our group.

We had such a great time. We enjoyed touring the inside of the boat. The native Indian live exhibit is a must see. It's respectfully done and so interesting. It's like stepping back into their village. The Jamestown settlement was a little more sparsely done that I would have thought with a lot less actors but the ones there were excellent and informative. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The museum portion was excellent.

It is interesting to see. Is it worth the money, not really. Kids love it. We brought our now 25 year old here when he was 8 and it was great. It seems ever here they have downgraded the entertainment aspect of it. The museum is interesting.

I had a fantastic experience at the Jamestown settlement. The museum is beautifully curated, offering a rich historical insight. The outdoor activities, paired with captivating performances, added a lively and engaging dimension to the visit. Highly recommend!

Wow. I was super impressed. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Great place for children and adults alike. And teens that enjoy history. I love how the enhibits were interactive and tactile. Lots of great films. You can walk or drive down to the Glasshouse after and finish by riding the ferry to the fort and back. Definitely worth visiting!

We had a wonderful time! The galleries were much more extensive than I was expecting, with so many artifacts. All the exhibits were displayed so well. The Native American village, ships, and fort really let you experience what life must have been like in 1607.

Great place to visit and learn about our country's history. Between the gallery indoors and the outdoor recreations (villages and ships) we easily spent 3.5 hours. They do offer a military discount and a multi location discount to visit all 3 main museums of history.

This was a fun adventure. There was a walk through education center with all sorts of exhibits. The Jamestown replica stronghold was nice and informative. The Native American village was informative. All the staff were friendly, informative and, all around amazing. The 3 boats on the water were very informative. Crazy to think how small they are and that they (are replicas) crossed the ocean. A good place to spend some time and see a lil early Americana.

I love history, and this is a wonderful place to see and learn. I wish we could have been there at opening time. We got there late in the afternoon and missed the outdoor area. Call for info before you buy the tickets. A bonus is that they do offer military and first responders a discount.

Amazing museum that is interactive and a fun place to explore. They have a couple of shows to watch, a few demonstrations of musket firing, blacksmithing, cooking and sailing. I recommend getting the combo pass so you get into Yorktown as well with the price of one. All in all, a great experience for the family.

My family and another family came to Virginia for vacation and made a visit to this waterpark. We’ve all agreed it’s easily the best waterpark we’ve been to. It was clean, there was plenty of shade and everyone was super nice and helpful. We came during the week and had no problems finding anywhere to sit at any of the pool areas or food areas and nearly no wait for food and drink items. If we are ever in the area we will be returning without hesitation.

So expensive! We paid $460 for 6 people to spend 3 hours there. Another $60 in parking for 2 cars. I probably won’t go back. Everything inside was crazy expensive too. $4.99 for a Diet Coke. $16 for a pretzel & churro. There is not a lot of shade. They don’t let you bring food or drinks in either. I wasn’t impressed.

Great time for the kids. Great things to do. The queue to the different slides can be long, but they move fast. Big enough & clean. I got all-day dining tickets for my kids. I think they are no deal : too expensive for what you get, in my opinion.

The experience at the water park was good, but not excellent based on my 4 stars. For one there was a section of the park closed and second there was a big tube ride down. All the rides that were open were great, but I would prefer that the lazy river had tubes instead of floating down either by yourself or with a life vest. The food was also just ok. Lastly it would be great if there was a lane when entering parking that was a prepaid line only.

Very large waterpark, in the heart of a beautiful forested park. It gets busy and the lineups for some of the rides are long as a result, but there is a variety of thrill opportunities for all levels of comfort. A lazy river and wave pool are great for relaxing and no lineups for those! A wonderful and fun way to spend the day with family.

Wonderful day of play with my teens. We enjoyed the variety of water rides, food, and treats. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lockers weren't too expensive. Bring your waterproof phone cover and be prepared to drop your shoes at each ride and be soaked.

Bought the 2 park fun card and 1 annual pass for parking. We were in the area for a month and this is the best way to do theme parks for us. We would go at open and leave when it got busy. The park is nice with shade throughout don’t know what others are talking about, I’ve been to parks without shade and this place has a lot. Could use a bit more water on the concrete in a few areas. Tons of great slides, no wait hardly for the first few hours. We would pack food and eat at the picnic tables outside in the parking lot if we wanted to do a full day. Water bottles are allowed inside but no food. Bathrooms were fairly clean and well stocked. Enjoy!

My daughter and I enjoyed this getaway yesterday, being the first time to explore Water Country. A good day to be had BUT.. The website was a little confusing though. Parking is $25 when online I thought I read $10 Outdoor food is not permitted (but online says its okay) Smoking (online says no smoking in the parks, but at site had a designated smoking spot behind the bathrooms) That's the only few issues I've seen, needing information to be more accurate in person and online. But all in all, it's a great place to go to cool down on a hot day!

It is a good waterpark for children to have fun, yes! It's a little expensive but the slides are very fun my 8 and 12 year old kids really enjoyed it . I would say that the only bad thing is the long waiting lines to get on the slide, but they have a fast pass extra purchase if you are not a big fan of waiting for a long time, but this is definitely up to you, also food and drinks are not good and they are very expensive and they don't allow any outside food or drinks into the park. I took my son to this water park for the first time as a birthday present for him and he really enjoy it! Outside of the food and the long waits, everything else was amazing! My son was very happy!.

I've been coming here since I was in diapers. The park is clean, beautiful, and well maintained. The staff are MOSTLY friendly and helpful. The rides are great and I appreciate that they have added more umbrellas and shading, especially in the lines and rest areas. That being said, they were severely understaffed when we visited this past Sunday... which made the lines even longer and not worth waiting for anymore. Many of the rides had closed off some of their tunnels and slides too, making it worse. Management should be more prepared and pay their staff better ages to ensure that there is proper staffing... otherwise, it isn't fair to the guests who have paid to visit and enjoy themselves. Food and drinks are outrageously expensive as always, but that's nothing new.

Conveniently located off Interstate 64 between Richmond and Virginia Beach in Williamsburg is Water Country USA. We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, 1 adult and two kids ages 10 and 12. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online a head of time as you receive a discount off the gate price. Parking is 30 dollars per vehicle or you can opt for the upgrade to get a little closer for 55 dollars. After parking we scanned our passes, entered through metal detectors and began our day at the park. We found lockers available for rent of the three tiers available. 20 dollars for small. 30 for medium and 40 for large. For reference, small locker was sufficient for my cell phone, keys, three large bath towels and street clothes for us. After securing our belongings we went on just about every ride from the lazy river and wave pool to Colossal Curl. Life vests are available free of charge and are encouraged for children under 48 inches and those that are not strong swimmers. We purchased the dining package which allows for an entree, side item, or dessert along with a beverage every 90 minutes. Caveat, bottled water, beer, bottles of soda are excluded along with certain ice cream stands and funnel cake are not included in the dining pass. Fast passes are available for an additional fee to avoid lines if you so choose. If you are looking for a fun place to take the family and spend some time outdoors, head over to Water Country USA for some sun and fun; you will be glad you did. *something also to note is Water Country USA is completely cashless. They accept credit cards, Apple Pay and you can also load money onto a prepaid card for use within the park.

Great experience. Lots of fun and exciting rides for all ages. Lots of places to eat. They had a deal for food every 90 minutes. I did not go for that but that seemed like a brilliant idea for large families or groups. I look forward to going again

A Tuesday visit : Lines were so long we couldn’t ride anything it took hours for three mediocre rides. For the cost there wasn’t much to do. The lazy lagoon was our favorite. We didn’t get to ride the big ride they have there because the line was 2 hour wait. The food with the dining plan was GOOD. Probably won’t return.

I was pleasantly surprised with this water park. We had a party of six: 3 adults, 1 teen, 1 big kid, 1 toddler. It drizzled for the better part of the day. We opted to get a cabana for $220. Worth the expense to get a break from the drizzle. We received a free meal (X6) with the rental. Come prepared to walk! Water shoes are a must, sandals barely worked out for me. The food was good for a theme park and prices. I saw people headed to their car for their food too. It's close enough to pull off. The park closed 3hrs early because of inclement weather. We asked to receive passes to come back and we got all 6 passes back, expire within a year. Great water slides/activities for toddlers, teens, and adults. No lines to get on rides. Highly recommend a visit.

The water slides were the best part. The wave pool and lazy river had so much leaves and debris it was not as relaxing as it should be. My biggest issue is that you can't get to the rides without walking over the hot sidewalk. Even if you wear your slides to the ride entrance the sidewalk in line should be misted or treaded. Somehow the other water park have this figured out.

Unfortunately, We purchased VIP parking online and got to the park and had to be refunded due to lack of spaces made accessible. We also purchases a Cabana because we had all ages and wanted to make certain everyone would be comfortable. ONLY to be there was no service for food, no ice for water service, not enough employees for food service. This was very disappointing.

We very much enjoyed our tour of the governor's Palace. This building is handicap accessible for those with wheelchairs. However if you can't climb the steps not expect to gain access to the second floor. The tour guides were all very accommodating. Also, if you want more time to enjoy the rooms, visit when the self guided tour is available.

There are open tours throughout the day included in admission to CW. Our tour guide was excellent and very engaging and informative, while being friendly. I learned a lot. There are stairs included in the tour yet you can stop off earlier in the tour if you wish to avoid stairs. after touring the palace, check out the gardens, maze, and Canal out back!

Highly recommended! This area is just so beautiful, with a lot of history. There’s so many things to do and see, and the tour was just wonderful, about 30 minutes long, our guide did a fantastic job! Great for kids and adults. And the kids loved the maze too!

Great first visit to this place. Loved the history and seeing where so much occurred to form what made our country. Lots of walking but the staff are great and really show a love for what they do. Improvements - the buses need help. We waited over 30 mins for a bus that was full. The next one was standing room only with a rude driver. If she yelled at us to fill in like sardines one more time, I would have walked.

We walked through the gardens and did the guided tour. I was not impressed with it, but I would still say to do the tour at least once. Our tour guide talked quietly and was hard to hear at times. The gardens I feel like could have been maintained more and added to. Just felt like missed opportunities. But was still cool to see the decor of that time and the outside rooms like the cellar. We visited during the summer time and the tours filled up quick to where we had to wait on a bench for about 30 minutes just to save our spot.

This place is beautiful! The tour was only about 30 minutes but was full of interesting info coming from a good actor and tons of beautiful things to look at. It may not be the BEST for small children, but my small child loves history and he did super well.

A very ornate house/building, recreated after a fire. A nice presentation by personnel dressed in period costumes. The tour lasts 30 minutes. It is NOT handicap friendly.

The tour package was well worth it to be able to go into the building and listen to the docents who were all very good. The palace and adjoining grounds are a must do tour.

The tour was awesome. I loved the entrance when you walk in; it is high class and makes quite the statement! The gardens in the back are cool and the maze is more fun than I thought it'd be.

Really great tour with air conditioning… lol Check out the root cellar, it is neat. Loads of great history that’s not too boring for the kids. They keep it moving well.

Amazing restoration of a beautiful historic site. Interpreters gave an informative ~25 min tour of the palace. Following the tour, beautiful gardens and a hedge maze to explore.

First time going and it will not be my last time. Beautiful, kid friendly, some rocks so depending on what type of wheelchair it might not be wheelchair friendly. Charming, stunning, educational, all in one. Worth the visit you will not be disappointed.

My favorite place in Colonial Williamsburg!! The tour was short and sweet, but very informative and we got to see the whole palace. It was gorgeous!! We also were able to walk around in the gardens. In the gardens were lots of beautiful flowers and plants, a hedge maze, and a trail down to a pond filled with fish, frogs, turtles, and other wildlife

Another great site at Williamsburg. Rebuilt from the original plans and blueprints, utilizing craftsmen from Europe to reproduce the architectural features that you see here. It is absolutely amazing. Breath-taking actually. Make sure you go inside, and tour the outside as well, including the storage cellars.

I had the best time! I really enjoyed the haunted house because it was so hot outside and when we were getting ready to leave the clouds were black and the wind was howling! That was the best..what we didn't like was the restrooms locked because..well because. We are getting season passes to keep enjoying We will be back in Nov and Dec!! Thank you!!!

This was the first time we've had all inclusive tickets for Colonial Williamsburg, which made it the first time we were able to take the tour of the Governors Palace. It is gorgeous inside. And don't forget to check out the outer buildings, like the cellar, a well!

Access to the Governor's Palace requires joining a guided tour, as simply having a ticket may not guarantee entry.

The Bruton Parish Episcopal Church is a currently operated church and was not accessible at the time of our visit. We have been inside before and the interior is lovely. This rating is based on the great outside appearance and the historic cemetery and grounds surrounding the church.

Beautiful. Oldest continually active church. Church of England, now Episcopal. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit, CoViD-19 restrictions still in place. We couldn't get inside.

Very nice historic church. They still perform services and I wish I had the chance to attend one. There is a suggested donation of $1 for entry. Wonderful.

Beautiful historic church in Colonial Williamsburg. Worth a visit. Attended the Hogmanay New Year's Eve concert and it was wonderful. Really happy we went. There was no charge but you can make a donation to support the church should you wish. If you attend a free event there, it is recommended to go about 15-30 minutes early and wait in line so you can get a seat. Space is limited. If you can manage steps, there are two balconies that offer great views.

Amazing facility and piece of history. The restoration and upkeep is really great. So many original things still in tact.

Beautiful church that I enjoyed visiting and attending a service on a blustery January day. The weather kept most of the tourists at bay so I'm sure the Parishioner to Visitor ratio was high. The service was a classical Episcopalian service but without music. Probably because I am an early riser and attended the 8:00am service. For some reason they did not want participants to perform intinction (dipping bread in wine). In this post pandemic world, I don't know if that's for "health" reasons or if it's just a "house rule". Either way, it was novel for me. Definitely a wonderful living historical building that's almost a must visit location. I still remember a PBS woodworking show visiting to see the old carpentry in the building and would have loved to tour the building more on another visit.

Amazing place! If you haven't yet visited Williamsburg Virginia do yourself and go. The area is rich in histroy and amazing. Bring the kids along and make it a fun histroy lesson.

My Wife and I attended an historical Welsh Concert in this special place and we felt it was such a wonderful experience. Being hard-of-hearing, I was able to hear that unique Organ & Oboe music, the Singers were interactive and very devoted to their Craft! Be generous if you visit this active House of Worship... they get no Funding from Colonial Williamsburg.

One of the major sites at Williamsburg. This is a must-see location. So much history, both inside and outside. This is just an incredible place. While most of the structures in Williamsburg were refabricated according to original blueprints and records, the church is original, and you can really feel it when your're standing in there.

Easily my favorite building in Colonial Williamsburg. As a fan of colonial-era churches, this one is certainly one of the best in the state, and it's the oldest surviving building in Williamsburg. It's free to enter, and you can see on the pews essentially a roll call of important colonial names, with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Marshall, Patrick Henry, George Wythe, and many others. You can see the graveyard too, although they don't let you walk around in it. Should absolutely be the #1 priority of anyone looking to visit Williamsburg.

Beautiful church with so much history. It's not part of the Colonial Williamsburg organization, but there are church members who volunteer and tell great stories about the history of the church. You can take pictures in the church and then only ask for a $1 donation per person. The grounds are beautiful with grave makers from the 1700's. Beautiful and fascinating. Definitely make time to visit.

Beautiful old church where our founding fathers attended. Daniel Custis's grave is there. I wish I'd been on an organ recital day. The ladies who work there are very knowledgeable.

We enjoy visiting each year when Richmond's First Baptist shares their Christmas concert. It's free, open to the public, and the Candlelight concert series is wonderful. As one of the oldest churches in our nation, the upkeep and cleanliness are exceptional. There is a public restroom (heated in the winter) about a block away.

Beautiful church with lots of history right in Colonial Williamsburg. We were visiting from out of town and went to the Sunday morning 9:15 service and felt right at home. The people were welcoming at the coffee hour after. We even met a few people from our home town.

This is the church, so behave yourself period the people working. There are preparations or some are doing a great job telling you about the history of that place and it looks really nice.

We love this place! We have visited multiple times and probably sampled all of their wine. The scenery is beautiful and the area can hold multiple events (wedding, party, get to gather, winery events, etc.) The tours are top notch as well. They take you through out the buildings, winery process, and history. The tastings are affordable and delicious with a bit of history as well. I love coming here and recommend this place for any wine lover. The Adagio is by far my favorite!

We only got to experience wine tasting room due to weather. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The view out the window was very nice. Me and my wife enjoyed stopping for a couple flights.

A nice winery tucked back into a quaint area of Williamsburg. The decor is inviting and the drive into the winery offers a nice introduction. They offer a wide variety of wines, along with multiple flight options. We tried the Summer Flight, a very good option. The wines were flavorful. The staff were very friendly and the gift shop offered some nice selections. A nice place to come in and enjoy some vino.

This winery is great. There is a very large wine selection and the food in the tavern is very tasty. Without exception, the people were all very nice and we were treated well everywhere. We can very well imagine that it is even more beautiful here in summer and autumn. A visit here is highly recommended.

Cute little winery with good wine. They have a lovely patio area you can sit at outside and enjoy a variety of wines by the glass, or you can get a tasting flight. Flights are around $16 each and come 4 two-ounce pours, and you get to keep your glass as a souvenir. Stop by, relax and enjoy the scenery. -Cheers.

I would solely visit this winery for its altruistic customer service and the aesthetic features of its surrounding nature. The wine is astounding and left me in awe more times than I can remember lol. Also, I love the restaurant and its delicious menu. The wine tour is a fantastic experience. So is the relaxed meandering with like-minded wind lovers who enjoy company, conversation, and, most notably, wine.

Had a blast coming up to Williamsburg to shoot some couples in love. Such a lovely venue that serves as a beautiful backdrop for your big day. The staff there are the best in the world and will do anything for you!

Gorgeous place and great food and wine. Bought a bottle of A Midsummer Night's White, a lovely white wine to take home with me to share with my husband on our 20th anniversary which is coming soon (Nov. 8th 23) Can only recommend this place and the white wine I bought, which I also had with my lunch.

I have been visiting Williamsburg Winery for the last couple of years. It has never disappointed. I love that it is very close to colonial Williamsburg, but at the same time, it is practically in the country side. We love the somewhat European style of the whole setting and the multiple outdoor areas. Plenty of space for children and well behaved dogs to hang out with. The wines are very delicious. We don’t like wines that are too dry or too sweet. However, the mid summer nights white was a good compromise. Plenty of parking space and excellent setting to have a glass of wine under the tree. There are plenty of indoor areas as well. However, we never really venture into them. it is my understanding that the food is really good and the tavern seems to be the place to go for most people.

Members for many years. We love their wine and visit every year in addition to getting quarterly wine shipments. Great atmosphere. The restaurant is wonderful!

This place is truly a hidden gem!! I most certainly should have taken more pictures of the beautiful vineyard and restaurant but I was too busy enjoying the moment! I visited this place for the first time and I must say it was truly a great experience. I tried two wine flights while there. They have such a great selection! The wine tasting space was very homely and still very much decorated as if it were the colonial times. There's so much beautiful artwork on the walls as well! The staff were very friendly and polite while there. I'd love to visit this place again! By the way, you get a free wine glass to take home with you after wine tasting!!

Parking and walking in unpaved area lots and some walkways are terrible. Beware of many large dirt potholes and other unsafe areas if you are driving and walking in the parking lot and driveway near the tasting room entrance. Hopefully this has been fixed by now. In my humble opinion, wines are fair to good but that depends of course on your palate/wine preferences. Not sure how much of the juice used for these wines is harvested onsite (couldn’t get an answer from the staff). This is best for a getaway from the tourist areas of CW. Space outdoors on a nice day is best otherwise indoors is sparse but adequate (at least where we were permitted to go during our visit). Staff were very nice. Service was excellent. For that alone I will return. Wine Prices are higher (~$30-34 per bottle) than I anticipated but expectedly so for a tourist area like Williamsburg. I understand the restaurant is very good, but I did not try it. I came specifically to drink wine. If it’s a pretty day, definitely worth the trip.

We found this place 20 years ago on our honeymoon and have loved it ever since. Each time we get back something is added. We didn’t get to do the tour this time but had some excellent servers in the few days we spent there. We stayed in their hotel next door partly because of the winery. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The wine is fantastic. They offer wines for serious wine drinkers too.

It is truly a beautiful campus about early American history with honor, sacrifice, and truths that seem to be sorely lacking now. And, such dedicated and amazing students.

Great historical university. Second oldest chartered school in the country after Harvard. You can tour the restored Christopher Wren building, the original campus building. Walk the historic grounds. Also, a great school with many undergraduate and graduate degrees offered.

On a recent visit to the Historic Williamsburg District, we found ourselves with some extra time so we decided to stop by here. If you're arriving by car like us, you can go to the Police and Parking Services office along Ukrop Way to pay the parking fee and get info about designated parking spots. Campus maps and restrooms are available there as well. We found street parking along Landrum Drive, which was an easy walk to the two places we wanted to see - Sunken Garden and Wren Building. We spent the next 1.5 hours walking around and learning about the university and some of its most famous graduates, such as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

The William & Mary campus is one of the most beautiful college campuses I have ever seen! The students and faculty are mostly kind, and the atmosphere is very chill and calm.

My daughter graduated from W and M and I can tell you that her degree has sent her in a good direction. In Virginia a W/M degree is highly respected and if you are looking at grad school, it will take you places!

The museum is filled with many beautiful, unique pieces of art and I have always enjoyed the exhibits but due to a recent visit, I hesitate in recommending this museum to anyone with children. I was excited to share this place with my children (10 & 8) but very quickly felt unwelcome and followed closely by guards. I was pointing out some local pottery to my children and set off an alarm and warning to not touch the art. The pots were at least 8 feet behind a barricade wall and all I had done was point at a grouping. This began our personal escort service within the museum. The guard was never more than 10 feet behind us and it became painfully obvious when he stayed with us in the children’s gallery while my kids drew at the art table. We were the only people in the room. In another room, my son was looking at a different painting than I was and we were reprimanded for not standing immediately next to him. I understand the importance of monitoring children, especially in this type of environment, and I clearly was doing so along with the assistance of the our personal security guard escort. The unease that my children caused for the staff was apparent and I decided it was best to cut our visit short. Overall I was very disappointed to not be able to share this museum with my children in hopes to encourage their appreciation for artwork and Americana.

This is a wonderful place to visit when in Williamsburg to see the craftsmanship and art that embellished the lives of our early American ancestors. This museum covers quilts, pottery, furniture, china and other things used in daily life. We also took in an educational performance in the Hennage Auditorium. The museum entry is included in your Colonial Williamsburg pass so make sure you do not miss this while there.

Loved how this museum is different from every other one. Captures your attention in a place that is surrounded by historical battles, old houses, and founding somethings…..

Attended a great presentation in the museum's auditorium of The re-building of Charity, the first black woman institutionalized in the country's first mental hospital. I forget the actress' name, she was fantastic!

Even if you aren’t an art fan, you will find lots of treasures to love here! There were weathervanes, ceramics, tobacco store statues, an unusual carrousel and much more! Kids will love this place! Prepare for hours of fun!

Interesting exhibits and well-versed docents make for entertainment and enjoyable stops during a visit to Colonial Williamsburg. There are no hands-on exhibits for children and some of the visitors or staff can make little ones feel out of place or pushed aside but, well-planned and supported tours can be fun.

Excellent museum with tons of exhibits and items greatly organized and presented. Admittance is included with your visitor pass. You need to leave handbags and backpacks in their lockers, which are provided free of charge, which is very nice. This is a must stop when you visit Williamsburg.

Love the history of the place and the ruins. I think the glass blowers were talented. Wish the whole process had been more visible.

This was a very neat place that had a live viewing of them making glass they also sell the things that they make right next to where they make it the parking lot is large with lots of parking spaces after you park about 50 60 ft down a little Trail you will find the Glass House definitely worth the visit to let the kids watch how glass is made

I've been there 2x now. It is a small operation. The workers work for a company that do tourist places including ornate ocean stuff down in the outer banks. They aren't super interactive unless you ask questions because they do have a quota of items to make each day. The gift shop is awesome and has reasonably priced items. There is a small exhibit next to the glasshouse that shows the original remnants, but it could be kept in better shape though it is not much to look at. There is plenty of parking. It is stroller and wheelchair accessible but slight uphills. Love my Christmas ornament.

Place to swim, ride bicycle, walk, learn from history of first colony settlement in America, personally watch how glass artisan are made and so more. Enjoy all year event, my favorite season end of September.

This is a must see and worth the entry fee to the National Park at Historic Jamestowne. Watch traditional glass blowing techniques, talk with the glass blowers, learn about how the original settlers blew glass. It's standing room only and the glass area is cordoned off with fencing. Family friendly fun. There is a gift shop on site with glass made in the shop with prices ranging from $10 to $80+ depending on size. We got a discounted entry with the 4th grade National Park pass, so it was $15 per adult and our son was free. I believe the regular rate is $30 per adult and also includes the archeology museum and dig sites along with the museum.

Fantastic! We really enjoyed the demonstration from the artists, and getting to ask questions about their work was great! We also loved getting to buy things from the gift shop to support them.

Nice quiet section of the park that is often overlooked and passed by. It offers a nice short scenic trail up to a beautiful beach with the glasshouse nearby. You can commonly see bald eagles flying overhead and can witness tons of wildlife as you walk up. The building itself is very clean and well done, the artisans are friendly and take the time to explain their craft. Lots of information around to learn more about the craft and the gift shop offers the same glass items you will find in other stores, but direct from the source and without the third-party markup.

My favorite place, glass blowing is a fave of mine. Take the time to ask questions and talk to the presenters, they are a plethora of info!!! Beautiful beauitful glass works, I couldn't walk out with just one piece!!

GLASS BLOWING!!!! This is a very interactive experience great for modern context of glassblowing and a glimpse of glassblowing history. You will be greeted with a humble walking trail filled with signage detailing the history of glass at Jamestown settlement. The trail is full of beautyberry plants whos leaves act as a mosquito repellent when crushed. There is a small giftshop at the end of the trail.

This is a must stop for while in the area! Watching the glass blowing demonstration was inspiring! Kyle, the glass blower, was very kind and great in answering our questions. This was one of my family’s favorite places of the day! They sell the glass work onsite which is very cool.

An excellent show and tell experience of the glass making process. Nearby they have the remains of the original glasshouse from the 1600s. There is a small gift shop right there in the same building to purchase glass made that day or days before. Perfect gifts for friends and family.

This was a nice little pit stop after seeing Jamestown, but I would recommend doing it first. I say this because the glasshouse itself is a little underwhelming as is the gift shop. I understand that it is meant to be a smaller operation, so it did not seem to scale well with the rest of Jamestown. That being said there are some well crafted vases, cups, inkwells, Christmas ornaments, and a few other items crafted in the shop that are for sale. Still a worthwhile stop just don’t get too excited, it’s not Corning lol

It's such a simple, peaceful place. Take the woodland trail. Read the signs. Watch them work with the glass. Go sit by the water and watch the ferry. It's not like being transported to another time, but it's quiet and beautiful. The people blowing the glass are true craftsmans. It's worth spending a fee bucks to enjoy a piece of their art later.

A fun lil place to watch a blowing demonstration. There was a cute gift shop to buy some hand blown glass. A fun experience overall. Definitely encourage attending if you are out and about looking for things to do.

It was fun to see the glass being made, there are vases, glasses, ornaments and other glass items for sale here. This is included in the National Park 15.00 entrance fee.

Folks here are great to talk with and love watching them work. This is a gem of a site and well worth your time.

Neat to see. If you want to buy some of the glass ornaments that are flat but have the print go to other parks that are close by I.e. Assateague, they have these same ones for less money than buying at Jamestown glasshouse.

If you are visiting Jamestown and James Fort, I highly recommend making time to ride on the ferry. It's free to use and takes about an hour round trip at normal times. (It is a service locals use for commuting, so busy times will take longer). As soon as your car is loaded and you feel safe you may exit your vehicle and walk about the deck. Be aware, seagulls and other birds also enjoy a ride on the ferry. There is an upper observation deck that is completely enclosed with bathrooms. This is a fantastic way to see Fort James and experience the colonists coming in from James River.

I love taking this ferry across the James River. It saves driving time. It is a scenic ride and only takes 15 minutes. Best of all, it is free!

I ride this ferry for a piece of mind and relaxation. In the summer you can get out your vehicle to smell the fresh air & water for a 20 minute ride to Surry & back to Williamsburg. Free to the public. Jamestown Beach nearby off the shoreline as well as the Jamestown Settlement.

Who knew that a boat (ferry) carrying that many vehicles could go so fast. It was my first time in a car ferry, and it was pleasant. Beautiful scenery, perfect breeze, and swift travel time. I'd definitely travel this way again.

So much fun!! It was my first time on a car ferry, and it was worth the detour. We got out of the car and walked around deck, and then also went above to the observation area. It's a short right, but I had a blast, and the nieces and nephew did, too+

If ever in the Historic Triangle area, make sure to take the time to enjoy a ride on this ferry. The view is really great for the whole family and it's an experience many may otherwise not get the opportunity to enjoy. Can't believe it's free. Even more fun when the upper decks are open, as you can walk around while the ferry is moving. However due to Covid you can only move around on the main deck. Very fun trip.

Drove right up and was maybe the 5th car getting on minutes before it departed and on the weekend too. Super short wait and a pleasant quick trip across. Easy on and off. Most hassle free ferry I’ve been on. We were able to get out of the car and just enjoy the views and fresh air while on the ferry as well which is different from others I’ve been on.

My kids loved riding across the river on the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry! An 18-Wheeler came across with us, so you can leave your swim trunks at home, you won’t have to swim. We met another ferry on the way across. The whole ride across wasn’t that long either. Out of a three vehicle, family convoy, we got selected for randomized searching, but the staff was friendly and efficient. We still loaded the ferry with our family. If you’ve never ridden a ferry, or you don’t feel like looking for a bridge, come on by and ride the ferry!

It's free, and easy. There isn't much else to say. The staff were efficient and moved us across the river safely both ways. An easy outing if in the area, however there isn't anything to see on the Surrey side.

Nice ride - parked too close to inside wall so passenger couldn't get out. It was an uneventful ride. I'm very grateful for this free ferry system across the James River . Saw the other ferry coming from the Jamestown boarding place.

Have been using and riding since childhood and now my wife and I are heading to explore Olde Jamestowne and Williamsburg. We just have always enjoyed these trips across the river over the years !!

And it's free! Runs every 20 minutes and takes you on about a 20 minute ride to the other side of the James River. Make sure you get out of your car and go up to the observation level. Great views back to Jamestown. Very convenient and safe!

This is such a wonderful free ferry system for public use that transports cars too. You can just be seated in car or walk around while ferry moves. Frequency is every 30 min check schedule online for season. Every time we visited over the past 2 years or so it’s always wonderful experience. If you get there in time of sunset or sunrise it’s just amazing. We have seen both sunset and sunrise at different times and it’s beyond wonderful

I love ferries! This one harkens back to my childhood when Dad would take us on Sunday drives. The drive to get on from the Surry side is picturesque and full of farm scenery. The other side, Jamestown, easily takes you to historical sites and the interstate. The ferry may not be the fastest way to travel this route, but it is the coolest. It holds a good amount of cars and takes roughly 15-20 minutes to cross. They were running two ferries tonight. The crew is friendly and efficient. You are able to exit your car and enjoy the ride in the open air. There is also an upstairs observation deck. If you enjoy the water, come and enjoy a toll free ferry ride. You will thank me later.

Fantastic ride. Best to do just a bit before sunset. We loved it. Got out of the car and went to the passenger lounge upstairs for a better view. So fun! My son loved it.

One of the best museums I have ever visited. Thank you Rockefeller for your funding. Give yourself a full afternoon, there is so much to see. Plus enjoy the live performance In the theater - it was very good. Excellent for kids.

Really enjoyed the Hick's exhibit. His paintings are iconic and recognizible with other great works.

The Hennage collection is a don't miss gallery within the DeWitt Wallace portion of the museum complex and there is so much more to experience. There are several ticketed programs usually available twice a day in the Hennage auditorium.

Such a delightful Art Museum! It was clean and shiny, and the exhibits were well labeled and interesting. There was an extensive collection of teapots and portraits. Loved my experience there!

This place is huge! So much to see for every taste in art.

We visited on Juneteenth so the visit was free. Kids had a great time and wanted to stay longer but the museums closed.

Definitely an older outlet. Since the Norfolk outlets opened, this is location has less traffic. It’s preferable in a way, less people to deal with. Stores are open and not closing anytime soon, it’s worth the drive to avoid the ghetto one in Norfolk.

We always enjoy the outlets! Excited there is a Hey Dude store now. We also love Columbia, Soma, Gap, Carter's, Ann Taylor, Nike, and Under Armour. The bathrooms were nice and clean which is always a plus.

I love this type of outlet mall set up. It's essentially an outside mall with lots of parking around each section of stores. So, you can drive and park while you explore each section of stores. As you shop you can easily return to the car before moving on to the next section. As opposed to parking being located in huge lots along the periphery...

Lots of shops and places to eat. There is a great variety of stores here. Great place to stroll with the family. There is plenty of seats outside if you want to wait while the wife shops.

The hours are great, the location and parking work and if you really search you will find amazing prices. Sadly a lot of the "outlet" prices don't feel like real savings but I have found amazing deals in clearance etc. It is nice to still have a place to go when you know what brand really works for you and can find what you need without waiting for shipping.

Really great place to find near anything you need at pretty good prices as is with outlet malls. Converse store here is the best. All sorts of clothing outlets major name brands and even a Bose store. This should be a major destination for those who like outlet malls. It would be easier to say who's not here, Rather than how many places that are here. Check the Google maps and it'll give you a highly detailed description of all the places

Very nice, clean place to walk and shop. The crocs store had no good deals and no classic crocs or cush in size 11 for woman, very disappointed with that. Please order size 11 for us tall ladies.

They have a great variety of stores. You have to know your prices, though. Plus, they have some unusual stores. However, I miss my favorites. There's no longer a Harry and David. There's no longer a Corelle store. There was, however, today a Yankee Candle pop-up store.

One of the best places to go shopping in the Williamsburg area! They have almost everything you could need, the prices are usually good. The crows in the Spring and Summer can get pretty overwhelming so the Fall and Winter is the best time to go. Ample parking, the only thing I wish were in the shopping center is a restaurant, you wouldn’t need to go anywhere else!

The outlets are great. They always have various sales for holidays or just because. While shopping we stopped for a snack and I got a crepe topped with powdered sugar, whip cream and strawberries. It was truly a delight! If you’re looking for a deal it’s a great place to shop.

Great place to shop. Went here on Labor Day and caught some really good bargains at a few stores. Surprisingly, the Polo store had discounted items on things I never see on sale, such as their jeans and jackets. I had my first encounter with Auntie Anne’s during my shopping quest where I found the mini pretzel dogs to be magnificent!

Nice selection of stores. Plenty of parking and a good deal of shaded parking under trees. I went early 30 min before opening and drove around to get a layout of the stores I was interested in. Pick a nice day because you'll walk a good distance when you have visited every store on your list. Put on your trusty walking shoes, kicks, or crocs. Oh yes there's a Crocs store and it's awesome. Lots of colors and styles to choose from. My list was long but I was prepared. Left satisfied with my purchases.

Williamsburg Premium Outlets is located on Richmond Road in Williamsburg, VA. It is worth the drive to shop over 100 miles to Williamsburg Premium Outlets. Over 120 stores to meet all shoppers need. Great relaxing shopping experience. It is extremely busy during the weekend. I prefer going in the morning when they open the doors for business. Employees are friendly and eager to assist. They is lots of entertaining to do near the Williamsburg Premium Outlets. There are so many outstanding restaurants near the Williamsburg Premium Outlets. We always grab a bite to eat after a successful day of shopping.🛍️🍲

Plenty of parking. We were visiting from out of town and had dropped into the L.A.B. location the day before and were excited to come here. There was a good amount of overlap in the beers but it was a cozy brewery that seemed poplar for the locals. Plenty of seating outside and a good amount inside. I opted for the Pumpkin Ale which has a good pumpkin flavor and a good amount of spice but not overly Pumpkin for those who may enjoy strong Pumpkin Ales. They have a variety of merchandise and a food vendor outside. Some board games as well. Overall a cool place and would definitely be a brewery I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. They do offer flights up to 6 beers as well.

Great place for beer - has food trucks, and a mug club. Comfortable inside and a huge outdoor tent. Beer is excellent and staff is friendly.

The beer at Alewerks is always really solid, and the pretzels with beer cheese!! They do an especially good job with their bourbon barrel beers. Since Alewerks expanded their outdoor seating with a large tent, there’s also plenty of room all year long. The inside is cozy, and both inside and outside are dog friendly. I really enjoyed the pre-COVID drag shows and karaoke nights, but haven’t gone to their events recently (no fault of theirs!).

I've enjoyed several different beers from Alewerks over the years and have wanted to visit the brewery for several years. Finally got the opportunity today and I'm glad we did. I had a Pumpkin Ale, which ranked near the top of all the pumpkin beers I've ever had. Well worth a visit!!!

We prefer porters, and this brewery has several options! Love the Black Forest Stout, Baltic Porter, and Pumpkin Ale!

Great spot! Having been to many great craft breweries, this is a great environment and the beer is fantastic. On the Saturday afternoon we visited there was live music outside which was great. The selection of beers was great and staff was friendly and helpful.

We visit Williamsburg from DC 4 to 5 times a year and always make this a stop. Fantastic beer, great atmosphere, lovely staff, games for kids. Food wise they have a great rotation of food trucks otherwise it's just snacks. It's a must go.

Overall outstanding. Great selection of different brews so easy to find something you like. They don't have a kitchen, but had a very good food truck on site. 11/2023: Just a quick update and this place is still very good and appears to have expanded. Certainly no issues with low alcohol content here and large outdoor seating as well as a large tent. They did have live music playing while we were here and a nice BBQ truck.

Tasty! Tasty! Tasty! Alewerks has a great variety including a really nice Tavern Brown. The holiday spiced and barrel-aged selections were choice. Their half pound pretzel goes really well

Aleworks is a must try in the area. We decided to go to the brewery rather than the tap room in the outlets and it didn't disappoint. They have great beer on tap. I couldn't stop drinking the spruce pale ale! The staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Kid friendly. No food options but they have food trucks. Must try if you - especially if you want a break from great wolf lodge

Being dragged to an outlet mall is not my idea of a good time; however, with Aleworks Brewing Co.’s outlet mall taproom as an option for me, I found the outing much more palatable. The taproom is large with plenty of space for anyone seeking refuge from shopping. With the exception of a few whiskey barrel tables, all of the tables are bar height. There is also a cozy area with club chairs and a coffee table. Very family friendly with a large selection of their locally brewed beers. Friendly staff, welcoming vibe. An oasis in the hell that is outlet mall shopping.

Never disappoints. The staff is fantastic and the beer is he best in the Burg. I even had my 50th birthday party there. I've been coming here since shortly after it opened and the space, the staff knowledge, and selection has grown. They make all the Colonial Williamsburg beers ( or at least they used to.) If you're looking for a relaxing space to get away from the the tourists, this is the spot

Ripley's is amazing, it does make you think. The best of all for me at the age of 62 was the 4D movies, just the excitement of the moments. Listening to the kids. I hVe own been there twice a day will go back again. You truly have to see it to believe it or not. Williamsburg is a wonderful place to visit.

The family went 5 adults, 2 children, and 1 infant. We all had a fun time looking at the things, Mr. Ripple acquired . Spent about 2 hours looking around. I saw Walter Hudson on display. He was from Long Island n.y. living close to a friend of mine

Excited to go here but it wasn't as exciting as I thought, I loved Ripley's Believe it or not ( I expected s guide) or at least someone to answer questions and the exhibits weren't as out landish as I'd hope but it was still nice to be able to say I went.

This was a nice place to visit with the fam. Lots of interesting exhibits. A little pricey for the size. But overall satisfied. Putput golf on site as well.
