This place is amazing! Fun for the whole family if they are able to appreciate beauty. Notice: Wear walking or supportive sportswear because there's lots of different attractions and trails. Might be too large of a walking area for toddler's and young children.

Probably one of the most well laid out parks I’ve visited, and this was my first time visiting. The only bummer was that there were some areas closed off due to landscaping so I wasn’t able to get photos there, but this park is a nature enthusiast or photographer’s dream. There’s such a broad spectrum of plants throughout the garden that you just have to see. The ground along the paths are pretty even which makes for comfortable walking since you will find something eye catching down every path. I wasn’t planning on going on a misty day, but the photos I took still came out amazing. Would love to do photoshoots in this location.

This botanical garden took me by surprise! It looks small from the road but it is quite large with plenty of walking paths. Even though it was moderately busy when i went it didn’t feel like it since there’s so much space to walk around in! All the flowers, bushes, and other plants are meticulously maintained and it truly is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens I’ve ever been to.

Nice walk through various regions themed gardens and woodland. Not busy, pay to park. Staff very helpful and polite. It has a children's discovery area with staff supervision indoors and out. Great place to chill with tree coverage providing shade.

This place is such a beauty to behold! You literally feel like you enter a place of enchantment. There's various gardens with different themes. Many places to sit and enjoy your surroundings during your exploration. The gardens are massive, so rest areas are great! There's workers riding golf carts who you periodically see to answer any questions and give directions. Definitely an amazing experience.

*LOVED* this place!! We moved here from Idaho in September and have been exploring a lot. This has been our favorite place so far. If you are from here, you might not realize how special it is to have banana trees and bamboo just growing outside in nature under pine trees and elms and maple trees. In Idaho, there was only pine so you didn't see leaves change colors with the seasons at all. I can't believe how colorful everything is here!! It's the thing I had been looking forward to the most, and it didn't disappoint. There's a smell outside as you walk around. It's this earthy tree smell that is my absolute favorite smell in the whole world (tied for the #1 spot with my daughter's head and my dog's feet). It was a 76 degree day with a light breeze and it felt like walking around in a rainbow heaven. The grounds are beautiful and there's lots to see. I'm certain we'll come back frequently. That being said, I will give one suggestion. It's a little bit hard to get around with my daughter's wheelchair and it would be helpful if paths were marked with arrows showing which way to go if you're in a wheelchair. They had an info both but it was busy so we skipped it, and I'm sure they could have told us where to go. Alas! We had to backtrack a little bit here and there, but there were other ways to get around. We took a detour to the chapel which was about an 8 minute walk from the gardens, and we did have to go up some stairs for that part. It was so pretty though and barely out of the way. Worth seeing. I expected only one chapel, but the university has tons of buildings that look like ancient mini castles. I didn't expect it to be so utterly breathtaking. Back to the gardens, there were some gravel areas inside the gardens that we decided to skip. Otherwise, the majority of the gardens were very accessible. We all loved this place so much.

Beautiful garden .My wife and I visited in February and we couldn't believe how fragrant everything was at that time of year. We will definitely return in spring. Very nice walking paths with maps and signage. Dogs allowed in yhe mornings and evenings, which is awesome. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite gardens! So beautiful and much bigger than I anticipated. I loved the educational section on growing produce/farming for children. If I lived in Durham, I’d come here all the time to read, picnic, and take a stroll. And it’s free! (Just $2/hr for parking). Photos were taken 10/31/21, so some of the flowers weren’t blooming. Would visit again in the Spring.

Beautiful gardens with even more various colors of flowers and plants all over the place. Gardens is maintained well and walking through gives you good feel all the way through. It's most famous for its natural light and scenery views for capturing your beautiful memories of any events or occasions😍 better carry strollers if you going with kids or toddlers as the walk can be easy with it instead of carrying them all the time.definitely makes you feel good and worth visiting this place.

Yes, please go there and enjoy the breathtaking gardens. Different plants and flowers, they decorate everything in a beautiful way. It was super hot, but we enjoyed every single stop. The entry is free, but you have to pay 2 dollars/ hour for the parking.

Wow!! We were blown away by how beautiful and well kept everything was. You do have to have cash for parking. It was $2.00 per hour. It would be a great place for family pictures and can’t wait to go back to have a picnic there. Lot’s of shade and areas to place picnic blanket and sit with the family. They do have restrooms around the area and it is very helpful with little ones.

Duke Gardens are a beautiful and tranquil oasis in the heart of Durham, North Carolina. The gardens are home to a wide variety of flowers, plants, and trees, from the Japanese Garden to the Discovery Garden. There are also walking trails, a lake, and a chapel. The Japanese Garden was particularly stunning, with its koi pond, waterfalls, and bamboo groves. The Discovery Garden was also a lot of fun, with its interactive exhibits and play areas. The gardens are free to visit, but there is a fee for parking. There is a small parking lot at the entrance to the gardens, but it can fill up quickly. There is also street parking available, but it can be difficult to find. If you are visiting the gardens in the off-season, be aware that some of the trees may be dry and without flowers. However, the gardens are still worth a visit, as the beauty of the architecture and landscaping is still evident.

Visited with my boyfriend last Spring and the scenery was gorgeous. Lots of different kinds of flowers to view, as well as walking trails. We also stopped at the little shop and bought popsicles to cool down. Great place to visit and lots you can do!

The visit to the Duke Gardens on the campus of Duke University was spectacular. Much of the gardens were still in bloom. The staff, volunteers and workers were quite pleasant, very knowledgeable as well as helpful. It was a beautiful day to spend walking amid such floral beauty. We brought a simple picnic lunch to enjoy at the conclusion of our walk. If you are in the area, leave at least an hour or more to enjoy this treasure.

Absolutely beautiful. Visited twice while in town and still didn't get to see everything because it was so big. My favorite was the vegetable garden which consisted of a compost and watering system and a bee keeping section. The workers and volunteers were super nice. There was a little building that sold snack and wraps that were delicious,fresh and reasonably priced. They also had a gift shop and area where you could purchase plants. The garden is free but you have to pay to park but the parking fee is reasonable but parking fills up quick.

Good place for relaxing. Lots of Verities of trees, flowers and plants. Good walking trail. Parking online $2 per hour. You can use free parking a few blocks away. Must visit between March 15 to 30 to see the full blossoms of cherry. 2 toilets, one in the main building and another in the middle of the park. A few free drinkable water fountains too.

I love Duke Gardens. It's my favorite garden in NC. I've been there many times in summer, fall, and spring. Every season has a different charm. The Asiatic Arboretum is my favorite part. It's like you're in Japan, walking around the pond, where you'll see a lot of wildlife: turtles, ducks, and I even saw a great blue heron, which was amazing! I went there today 3/14/24 the cherry blossom trees at the entrance are in full bloom! It was so beautiful, like a cloud of blossoms. The blooms should stay intact for about a week, depending on the weather. I recommend stopping by for photographs no later than next week and also visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowd. No entrance fees!

I had to take away another star for the seating and the fact that they ran out of pretzels within minutes of the 20 minute break. The seats are definitely not good. They hurt your butt after about 30 minute so I definitely recommend a seat crushing come with you. Had to take away a star because someone decided to kick and beat my seat. Not happy with that. Show is good so far, though. Very nice, crazy but nice. The bathroom is definitely nice. Complimentary lady products are available in the bathroom also. The entrance is crazy definitely going through a good search. Drug dog Metal detector Tickets scanned People are available to help around every corner

I was there for the recent STYX concert and my family and I have no complaints. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. We were pretty much escorted to my handicap spot and my wife and son were shown the seats in front of me. Heck, I even had one of the staff, a bubbly, cheerful woman on the second floor interior of venue help me pull on my concert t-shirt I bought. I usually have to complain about handicapped service because it's just not very good most places. Here I felt just like another concert goer. They saw me the person and not the guy in a wheelchair.

This is such a nice venue. There really is NO bad seat in this place! We sat in Section 10, Row A which was the 2 level balcony for the musical WICKED. It was fantastic. The parking deck was very close to the venue with only a short walk. And checking in was seamless.

First time guest here, and this venue has the most amazing customer service of any concert hall I have been to. Top notch all the way. Beer and food were very reasonably priced as well. Most places like this, you’re just another customer, but DPAC was so welcoming and made me feel like an appreciated guest! THANK YOU!!

My husband and I drove 2.5 hours to see Bert Kreisher perform here. It was totally worth it! Entering the venue was a breeze and so was finding our seats. The servers at the concession stands were very friendly and the food and drinks were pretty good! The bathrooms were also very clean and the venue staff were very helpful with guiding us out of the venue towards the parking lot. We will certainly return here!

The first picture is the orchestra pit. The second one is the stage for Hamilton. What an amazing show. The theater is of course fairly new and just beautiful on the outside. They have several parking lots, so parking was easy. The interior is beautiful also oh, and very very clean, and very secure, with lots of service people two man the food and refreshment stands. Drinks and food all right bit cheaper then they would be at the Ballpark. All the employees are extremely helpful. And friendly. I'd go there all the time if I could afford a season pass.

Beautiful venue. Parking was so easy. They had all kinds of snacks, clothing apparel for WICKED. We went with a group. Seating was very comfortable. Staff was Amazing.

DPAC is a nice venue, the staff is friendly and everything moved smoothly before we were seated. They offer drinks and simple snacks, there are alcoholic beverages from beer to a bar as well as a coffee station. The seats were nice and the bathrooms were clean. My husband and I really enjoyed our experience!

Got great tickets to the jinx and dela holiday show. The show was right up my alley, a parody about religion, politics, consumerism, climate, miserable conflict, and people forgetting to look out for others... everything that make people appear and be ignorant. DPAC staff are super pleasant and helpful, crowd is fun and eclectic, and the view is pretty good from the lower levels, even the side section 4/Q/213. There seems to be complimentary coffee and tea. Bathrooms are big and clean. Multiple entrances and exits. The venue holds a huge crowd. The volume is a little too loud so that some of the singing numbers are difficult to understand and distinguish. Parking is nearby for $12, but honestly you can find street parking free just a few blocks around. It's nice to arrive to park around 45 minutes before the show, though this one started 10 minutes late, and lasted a total of 1 hr. 45 min.

Came to see the Nutcracker for a Christmas present. It was a well put on show, beautiful costumes and sets. The doors opened about 10 min later than it said so that felt a little frustrating as it became more of a mad dash frenzy to get to seats. However everything is clearly marked, so it was easy to find where you were supposed to go. The staff was friendly and attentive, happy to help and answer questions. It was nice that DPAC sent out quite a few emails in the days before the show regarding parking and traffic with specific rates and locations. I’m sure we could’ve found some free street parking, but we used one of the parking garages for $10 and it was safe and easy to get in and out.

First here for Kem concert featuring Niito Band for Mother's Day! My mom, sister, and I had a phenomenal time. Beautiful place and great sound system. The concert was awesome! We are already looking at the next concert to come back!

Fantastic venue for an extraordinary 2Cellos Concert! All the staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming and the area of Durham was great. Had dinner at Tobacco Road Cafe and the food was plentiful and delicious!

This was my first time seeing a musical. I didn't know what to expect. This place is super nice and so clean! The lone tends to build during intermission but it went pretty quickly. They direct you which stall to go to and have hygiene products available. We were were on the third row on the balcony and we loved our seats! We could see everything. There were a few moments when I couldn't hear the audio. The cast and music was phenomenal. One thing to note about the stairs: they can be hard to maneuver. I am an aptuee and they made me nervous. Not unsafe... Just nervous. Wonderful time and sweet staff! Huge range of snacks and drinks. Highly recommend. I am getting a pretzel next time! They looked SO good.

Convenient and they have the most amazing acts that come to perform never disappointed! We just saw Wicked, it held up to performances I've seen in New York. Can't wait for our next adventure there.

Great venue, not a bad seat in the house. Very affordable garage parking $7, they didn’t take cash 10/14/23. Coming back, only one elevator was working and the line was long. If you are using the elevators at the theater, usually a long line, and it may take 4-5 waits until you can board, so plan the extra time. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Used the vending machine to get soda, 20 ounce bottle, charged $5. And don’t forget to visit the box office if buying tickets to other shows to save the extreme handling online fees from TM.

What a superb venue!! I saw an amazing musical done so well!! The people here are incredible, from waving us into the parking area, to scanning tickets or ushering us to our seats...everyone was super friendly and pleasant! Loved that you could bring food and beverages into the theater to eat at your seat. Rows are situated at a height where the rows below do not obstruct your view. Great place!

Great place for live music and musicals. The facility is very comfortable with good views and acoustics except for the occasional big head in front of you. Try for seats near the middle sections 5 and 6 of the Grand Tier for the best value but the balcony view is also very good.

I went to see The Grinch The musical and everything was awesome! I really enjoyed watching an amazing performance. Please be kind and explain to children that it is rude to kick those sitting in front of you. Educate your children before you take them to an event. And don't start getting in the way when the performers are still on stage, I was impressed to see how many people started to leave when the performers were saying goodbye.

This place is beautiful inside and out, so easy to navigate and so many bathrooms and food counters. The acoustics were great! All you could hear was the performer, not a peep could be heard from the raucous crowd while the music was playing. A lovely place to enjoy a concert.

This marked my inaugural visit to the DPAC, driving from Greensboro to catch the performance by Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. Despite having secured tickets months in advance, a curveball came our way when my wife required foot surgery just 1 1/2 weeks prior to the concert. Concerns loomed over logistical challenges, including drop-off/pick-up and navigating her limited mobility at the venue. Our apprehensions swiftly dissipated thanks to the extraordinary assistance of Nancy, an outstanding parking attendant. Addressing all my questions, she guided us to optimal parking to ensure proximity to the front door. Even before entering, multiple staff members inquired about our needs, offering to provide a wheelchair or any necessary assistance. Upon entering, we were efficiently ushered to the elevator and directed to our seats. Enter Donna – truly exceptional! She engaged with us, discussing options to enhance my wife's comfort and guiding us to the most convenient route to the restroom. I cannot praise her enough for the stellar service provided. From beginning to end, it felt like a Red Carpet experience. And, of course, the show was nothing short of amazing in this fantastic venue. :)

Ledisi tour was great. Saw her a few years ago. She really gives a great performance. Her new music is on target for today. Looking glamorous and sounding even better than soft butter on perfectly brown toast.

Good acoustics, great show, the typical tight rows of seating. No enforcement of not using cellular devices during the show. My neighbor was watching gymnastics throughout the first act, the filter did not make it less distracting.

Well, we came to see JP and when I bought the tickets, I didn't see anything indicating a handicapped or companion, so I bought aisle seats thinking I could be ok there. I didn't realize there were stairs leading to the seats when I bought them and was stuck. Fast forward to our wonderful usher, ZEDA, coming over to ask if we needed any help. She immediately took charge, radioed to the others and asked if there were any more open handi spots and got us situated in no time flat. Plus, I inquired about what spots to book for future shows since this was our first time here and she pointed them all out!! She went above and beyond to help us and I will be booking many more shows here just because of her. Y'all made a wonderful choice hiring this young lady and even though we didn't converse with many other ushers, they all seemed very happy to help when necessary. Thank you for making this a wonderful evening!!

We used to love going to the DBAP multiple times each season. Since covid, things have changed for the worse in my opinion. DBAP has gone cashless. My first minor issue was at the parking deck, getting slowed down by paying with a card because my card tap didn't work. When attempting to enter the park, we were close to an opening that we weren't allowed to enter through. We later exited though those gates. Would have been more convenient to have a ticket scanner there at the beginning. We had to walk halfway around to another entrance where there was a ticket scanner. Moving on to food ordering..keep in mind that we are 36 & 43, so we are familiar with electronics and screens. Our tickets were preloaded with $5 so we attempted to order at one of the first few stations we saw. There are now screens to replace people. 👎 We selected our orders and tried scanning our tickets multiple times and it wouldn't work. My husband tried and still couldn't get it to scan. We ended up cancelling after being there several minutes and moving on to another area since no one was there to help. We actually found an area where a person took our orders, but we forgot to order a drink and were looking for the discounted Bull Durham beer (on Thursdays), which wasn't available at the normal food places. Wasted a few more minutes getting one soda and the tickets actually scanned there. Discount beer wasn't available there either. There was a little area with fridges on the opposite side as the food places (near a bar), which had the discounted canned Bull Durham beer. This was the 4th stop we made! Ridiculous. Once you make it to the seats, everything was perfect. The opposing team (Jumbo Shrimp) would throw a ball over the net after each inning for the kids to catch. My son loved this, but wasn't able to catch one. He later walked up to their dugout and was handed a ball. Very nice guys! We noticed the the Durham Bulls quickly went inside, not allowing time for signatures, but the Jumbo Shrimp remained outside for a little while. If we had a marker, we would have asked them to sign the ball. After we walked back the the parking deck, we saw that we were unable to exit. Parking deck was gridlocked at our location (level 5) and cars blocked us in. We decided to go back down the stairs and took some photos near the Lucky Strike towers and the water. There must have been some event at the neighboring DPAC, which led to an extremely congested exit. We took about 20 minutes down near the water and it was clear when we returned to the deck. Overall, this is still a great family experience, but not cheap if you're on a limited budget. On discounted food Thursday, this was still about $120 with tickets.

Great facility to see a game, so much energy in the crowd. Love the atmosphere the organization and the guy that gets the crowd involved during the game is awesome. Day there was the kids got to run the field. Also as a fan of the movie, you won't be disappointed of the experience. WAY TO GO BULL'S... ya bunch of lollygaggers!!!!!🦬⚾️🧢

Amazing ballpark and atmosphere. For being a AAA ball club, this place is a lot of fun. There are a ton of food options as well as lots of draft beer stands. You will not be disappointed coming to a ball game here, every seat in the house is fantastic. Next time you are in or around the Durham area, definitely plan a trip here! 10/10

The seats were great and the concession has great selection of food and drinks. It's a fun and great atmosphere to take a family and friends out to enjoy a nice game during the weekdays or over the weekend. The Athletic park has great access and walkway from the parking structure located on each side. The fountain on the main entrance was great spot to meet and take photos.

I LOVE going to see the Bulls play! I grew up in Durham and have been going to games my whole life. The field and stadium are very nice. The eating areas, seating, and bathrooms are clean. They have a lot of activities for kids and adults. The fireworks on Fridays nights are awesome.

Great stadium, felt like a major league ball game! 😃 The prices are super reasonable. There isn't a bad seat in the stadium. The view of the park is spectacular from any angle. We decided to not sit in our seats and stood in all different areas during the game and it was great being able to walk the whole park and see the game form all different ways. It was one of the last games of the season and it was almost sold out, but the layout made it not seem that croweded. It is wide open and spacious. Great night of baseball and a fun spot to take the family for a night of entertaiment that won't break the bank!

I have been to this baseball stadium twice with my brother. The atmosphere has been great. I played baseball as a kid. The Bulls mascot Wool E. Bull is loved by the fans. If you are ever in North Carolina during baseball season this is a fun place with great food.

Had a great time. It was dog night! How fun to see all of the dogs! Such a great idea! Mine will come next time for sure! He loves being out in public. The weather was perfect! Parking was easy.

This stadium is one of my favorite places to be. No matter who plays, the atmosphere, food, beer, and of course the Game are just the best experience ever. I get 10 game passes every year now and don't regret any of them! I pray Durham can get this mess with the MLB handled so we can continue to enjoy visiting!

This is a great family friendly place! The staff is always friendly and helpful! I been going to Bulls game for many years and there is always a great time!!! Even when it's not a MLB game it feels like it and before/after the game there are may options around!!! If you haven't already seen them playing, I'll highly recommend you to try it!!! It's worth it!!! Friday night games always have fireworks!!!

We love the Durham Bulls. And we made it a girls night out. The hubby could not make it. We had great seats but all the seats are great in the stadium. We enjoyed the fireworks at the end of the game. The Durham Bulls is a great family, group or company outing. Win or lose the game is a joy to watch.. Go Bulls!!!

Nice upper end minor league park. Opened in '95 and has been continuously upgraded since. Bathrooms are decent, access is good, seeing is good from the box seating to the grass field GA in the outfield. Good concession variety at a ok price. One major restaurant can be frequented over behind left field above the "blue monster".

Bulls games are fun for even casual baseball fans like me. The ball park is beautiful, food options are plentiful, attractive extras like post-game fireworks are frequent, & attendees are usually cheerful & pleasant to be around. My family typically attends a few games each season, & we always enjoy ourselves. Going as a group is a terrific outing for a church group

We love love the ballpark. Lots of parking garages. Well managed exterior and interior. Right next to American Tobacco complex. So many food options. Watching the Durham Bulls is quickly becoming my favorite leisure activity

What a wonderful night of baseball (even thou the Bulls lost😔)! Easy parking at the South lot with prepaid tickets - worth buying ahead. We had dinner at Tobacco Road Sports Cafe above left field. When we were done we just walked through the small gate in the patio - showed our tickets and walked down stairs and into the stands. We were in Section 207 Row T under the overhang which put us between home plate and 3rd base. The stadium was clean with plenty of staff if you needed assistance. Great place for families and anyone wanting a reasonably priced night out to enjoy some ⚾️!!

We picked the perfect night for a game on May 11. Slightly cool and low humidity, just perfect for a night out for baseball. And the Bulls started like a rocket with 5 runs in the first including a grand slam. It doesn't get much better. This is still America's pastime with folks of all ages and lots of families. Highly recommend.

We had not been in years. They have added whole new sections to the ball park! Many are suited to those that don't want to sit through a whole game. Great addition. Adds more views of the ball park too. This night the home team lost but a fun time was still had by all! Hats off for the Durham Bulls! Thanks for autographs and posing for pictures. Great stadium with a good selection of typical ballpark food options. Free admission for military, just show your ID at the ticket window. Parking was $10 at all the parking decks around the area and it was easy to get in and out with minimal traffic or delays.

The Durham Bulls is an absolute MUST for anyone passing through the triangle. I've recently seen several games here and can't wait for next season! Food, drinks, and service are all exceptional and the atmosphere is very family friendly.

Probably one of the best minor league parks and experiences around. I've been to games with my kids over the past few years. This year we hosted 22 5th graders for my son's 11th birthday and the group sales folks were amazing. Highly recommend for birthdays, group parties etc.

The most beautiful stadium I have ever been to. It is such a fun environment and we have been lucky that the Bulls have also been very good in recent history. Makes going to games even more fun when the home team wins. Also really cool to see players who will almost certainly be playing in the major leagues in just a few years. Even if you don’t live watching baseball, the his is just a fun experience. I highly recommended

One of the best Minor League parks around. Not a bad seat in the house. Besides the usual ball game food, you have got to try the pulled pork bbq and a margarita. Great venue for the whole family.

They are the most iconic minor league team for a reason. They have their own "Bull Durham" beer available at the grab and go kiosks throughout the park. They also have dollar dog nights on Thursdays. I like to get one of the $10 outfield tickets and just roam around and post up at some of the bar/picnic areas. The Friday and Saturday night fireworks shows are better than some of the major league parks I've been to. Wool E. Bull is also the best mascot in the league!

It the largest Church I have been to. It is roman catholic themed, it has a crypt with resting place for the founders of Duke University. You can light candles. Get your pictures clicked in the Hogwarts looking alleys. And at 5 in the evening you can here the bells rolling. It is truly mesmerising

Historic landmark great to see. The historic Gothic chapel, standing at 210 feet and on the highest ridge of Duke's campus, features pointed arches and ribbed vaults. The stained glass windows help add color into the impressive structure.

The chapel offers free tours that last about 30 minutes. Tours are available Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. There's no need to rush through your visit. Take your time to explore the chapel and admire the beautiful architecture and stained glass windows.

One of the most prestigious and historical places in Durham, NC we recently visited Duke University Campus and it was absolutely inspiring . we visited in March and the weather is just perfect, The atmosphere was incredible it’s like you are visiting one of London or UK universities. the Dormitories are well planned, The Brian Center is absolutely a place. Where you will be in Awe, The restaurant are modern and built in high standard. The Duke Chapel is incredibly built with Class in Gothic -nd impressive Architecture, If you have not been the. You are missing a lot , Hughly recommends for everyone.

Beautiful, wonderful campus. Parking was a bit of a hassle, had to download an app with sketchy phone service because the meter won't work but that was forgotten when walking through the Beautiful campus. There were not as many AA students seen while walking, as compared to our visit to UNC chapel hill that same morning ... we did see a group of 20-30 having a meeting in the courtyard right in front of the chapel, so there's hope.

If you haven’t been to the Duke University Chapel, it is an absolute must! This was my second visit. Growing up Catholic my mother and her family frequently visited beautiful churches around the world. She is gone now but I know she would have put this chapel at the top of the list in beauty! There is a crypt. In fact, five Duke dignitaries are buried in the basement of the chapel. Take your time and walk around. This place was meant for meditation and reflection. Obviously this place is historic and gorgeous, but the real trick is to follow their calendar and see when there are free musical performances. I saw an Organ specialist play a recital and although it was not exactly my cup of tea it was still really cool, especially when he played the second set on the older, more traditional Organs (they were louder). There are upcoming free choir performances. Definitely worth checking out.

We did the Duke Chapel guided tour which is free and open to the public. We were introduced to the beautiful history, architecture, significance, and traditions of the Duke Chapel and truly enjoyed it. The chapel is known for its gothic style architecture but one has to go inside to be able to appreciate the intricate woodwork, stained glass windows, the organs, carillon, and more! Parking is available at the Bryan Center garage on a first come first serve basis.

Duke Chapel is stunning. Wonderful place to visit if you're in the area or walking from Duke hospital. It is such a warm welcoming Chapel. A respectful receptionist was waiting offering assistance and a great information on the Chapel and also a cute story about the two mice ( I won't tell you the story you'll have to go see for yourself). The offerings of this chapel is quite amazing. The public is free to enter and be a part at anytime. Be sure to check of the music events etc. Go and pray 🙏❤️

Such a prestigious place. Historic. Top scholars. I don't believe you can take a bad photo of this place. Duke will forever possess a legacy of excellence. From those who teach to those who learn.

It is the Jewel of the Duke campus and if you are lucky enough you will get to experience the organ being played on your visit. Take your time and enjoy the ornate glass, wood and stone while taking in the music. Explore all the chapel has to offer with its many nooks and crannies. From the side chapel to the vault in the basement and the exterior is as spectacular as the interior which includes a cloister like courtyard to the right.

This Chapel is just so beautiful. What an incredible experience. I've attended both church services and concerts/musical events here. The acoustics are perfect for choral events. If you haven't seen Handel's Messiah here, then you absolutely must. Just beautiful.

This place is amazing! So much to do! We spent 5 hours here and didn't get to enjoy the inside because there's just that much to do! My kids (under five) loved the dinosaur trail, train and all the natural playgrounds! The butterfly enclosure was wonderful as well! The food was very good, pricey but actually worth the money. We spent most of the time outside, which for us, was a plus! Also, there are restrooms EVERYWHERE! A huge plus in this family. Very clean. We went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. We enjoyed every bit of it and can't wait to return

I have a membership to the Life and Science Museum. It’s so worth it! The new under 5 area is perfect for my 8 month old son. We go about 2-3 times a week. It’s the best spot for my son, they ask that you take your shoes off and strollers are left at the door. They also have a “tasted toy” bin for any toys that end up in your babies mouth! I also have an older daughter who loves the lemurs. It is a really nice walk and my son loves looking at all there is to see. Our favorite exhibits (in order) are the Under 5 area, the lemurs, origami, the bears, the wolves, the butterflies and the outdoor pond (so many turtles. It’s a very safe place for and if you get hungry the food is great. I will continue to bring my kids at least once a week.

A good place to bring your kids. You don’t need to be watch in g them 24/7. I went with three kids under five and they loved the indoor kids area. It was $90 for our family of five to go but we had a friend let us in with their guest pass. I think a membership is only $130 or so a year so if you’re not from out of town make it count and get the membership. This is a really cool place for people of all ages. I originally went just to go to the butterfly house but when I saw all the other exhibits and activities I returned for a second day. There is so much to see and do here, inside and out. It’s easy to fill a day, possibly more.

Loved all of the exhibits (the area with the tree houses was closed). The bugs, wolves, butterfly house were awesome. Bears were sleeping. Kids loved the playground by the visitor center, the mist pad, the sailboat pond. Everything was clean, easy to walk around, lovely walking space.

Really great place to bring the whole family. There are tons of exhibits both indoor and out. Bathrooms are readily available throughout the outdoor exhibits as well. Everything is clean, well kept, and cared for. All paths are wide and paved, easy for strollers/wheelchairs. There are also many water fountains and water bottle refill stations. You can bring your own food with you, and eat outside at the picnic tables. There are some misting stations outside as well, which will help cool you down if it gets hot. There is a bathroom right across from the sand and water exhibit, and one changing station as well. This place is worth the trip, and the price.

What a wonderful experience. I came here as a kid growing up and now to have an opportunity to bring my family. We love the Museum and it has only gotten better over the years. It has great indoor and outdoor exhibits, wildlife, plant life, and good food as well. We enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back. You have to come here !!

Great place to take the kids. The staff are extremely friendly and eager to help. Bathrooms and water fountains are plentiful. You can easily spend the entire day there, and the kids won't see everything. There really is something for everyone.

There is something here for the entire family. We met up with my brother and his family and they are members. I am considering the membership because of all the play and educational benefits. The Play Learn area for toddlers was just renovated and we did this as the last part of our visit. On a beautiful day, you can spend all the time outdoors visiting the animals, tree house, the sound garden, rope courses and sandbox. My favorite part is the butterfly sanctuary with all of the tropical plants. I believe they are closed Mondays. Fun fun fun and so much to do for all.

We love coming to this museum my kid is always excited to come here. It so much of fun.. They have opened a new indoor place and that’s really cool. Kids will spend a lot of time. The restaurant is always busy, food is good but pricy. The train ride is exciting too, we always hop on the train. Butterfly garden is very nice and enjoyable.. Everting thing is good in the museum, you need to plan for a long day. We were there from 12 to close. They have EV charging stations but I was not able to charge. It required some approval..

Very large museum of interesting things to both the young and old. Be prepared to do a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes. However, it is a gorgeous place to visit and see all the exhibits. My favorite was the Butterfly House. But if you take your time and read all the information that is provided. It is a fulfilled day of education both indoors and outdoors.

The kids always enjoy going here. Lots of cool exhibits (i.e. space, NC wildlife, etc). The butterfly house is super cool. Make sure to hitch a ride on the train!

Huge museum, a big variety of activities to do and experiences to have. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We got to experience the butterfly room in early spring when they were all out flitting everywhere, and it was positively magical.

My experience at the museum was amazing, I enjoy myself with so many things they have at this museum. To be my first time, I was so amazed, because I know this a place I can take my nieces and they would enjoy it with the different things they have for kids to experience, the train ride was fun even if it was 5$ extra it was fun, the butterfly garden was amazing,the playground,they have animals, the science had so many things kids can do. This is a great place to bring kids. I absolutely loved it.

Really good Museum with lots of indoor/outdoor activities and environments for kids and adults. Some of the activities include the Butterfly House, Hideaway Woods, Farmyard, Sprout Cafe, Explore the Wild nature park, Catch the Wind, Dinosaur Trail, and the Ellerbe Creek C.P. Huntington train ride, and many more. You need to purchase tickets to get in but children from 0-2 years old don’t need tickets. Also, on Durham Community days, Durham County residents get in free with current proof of residence. All adults must have Durham residency to get in free; each adult can bring up to five children. Guests without current proof of residency will need to pay for tickets at check-in. Plenty of restrooms throughout the Museum The indoor and outdoor facilities are well maintained and safe. The animals look well taken care of. It has a small parking at the Museum but there is a large parking deck across the street. Parking is free.

Amazing place and worth the hype for Raleigh Durham area. We went for a kids birthday party. They have a mini zoo with live farm animals! As well as inside they have birds and reptiles, and in a separate area, a butterfly habitat - we saw a little girl covered in them (3-4 of them). Amazing. And really cool scientific interactive exhibits inside, as well as various playgrounds including a ropes based treehouse outside. Awesome experience.

Really impressive experience, especially for kids. Way too much to see in a single day, but you'll want to come back for more anyway. The treehouse alone is worth the price of admission (or better yet, membership)!

This is not a typical museum. There’s so much to see and do. Many interactive play areas. The size is truly impressive. You can spend an entire day here, with your kids, from open to close. The outdoor play areas are the best. ☀️ Wear your walking shoes, bring water bottles & sunscreen. 🩱Take a swimsuit or change of clothes. It’s very stroller accessible. Stop at the cafe or beer garden for drinks and a bite to eat. Highly recommend this for a family fun day! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just a quick insert so I can remember that I went to Duke University Camus. It was cold and wet, so I didn't tour the area much. But it seems like any other college, except older. ;)

Computer science graduation ceremony at the convention center was not well planned and very disorganized. They made friends and family wait an hour plus while seated. Event staff were very rude. Great university though, very proud of my sister for graduating Go Devils!

They offer 🫴 free 🆓 waivers on entrance fees and test waivers to minority students to grad school. They are super supportive on your educational journey.

Duke University Hospital is always warm and welcoming when we have to go for appointments. They have by far done more to try and figure out what is going on with my husband's health, and they don't leave a stone unturned. I'm very impressed with the care we get when we are guests in their hospital!

Good school. Historic buildings. Classy graduation ceremonies. The campus is quite peaceful and serene. But you'll pay through the nose for a diploma from this place. But as an employer, they treat their people well.

My daughter and I toured the campus. It was clean and peaceful environment. The tour guide was very informational around the West campus. She even gave an overview about the East campus. When the tour was over, my daughter and I ate in the dining hall. We both were able to speak to various backgrounds of students that attend the University. They gave a very honest opinion about the institution. I was very impressed to hear of the pros and cons of Duke; especially transferring college credits from another institution. The students even gave some expertise on setting your schedule, if you wanna go abroad or mingle between the other universities in the area. This was completely fascinating. I only wished the admissions staff would of given an overview about admissions before venturing the campus. Make sure you get a map, you can get a little lost when you're tour is over. I'm just thankful for what was shared to my daughter and I.

Volunteered at the Lemur center for a few hours, and got the chance to see some of the Lemurs. This place is incredible, and would recommend it to anyone interested in volunteering! The staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable.

The Duke Lemur Center in Durham, North Carolina, is an incredible place to explore. The lemurs are captivating, and the staff's dedication to their care and conservation is evident. A must-visit for anyone interested in wildlife and education!

The private tour was expensive, and the ones on display are in tiny, sad enclosures. You can walk around and see them without a tour in about 5 minutes.

Very interesting to hear about non-invasive research being done in connection with lemurs to help the lemurs and humanity! Guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. A nice excursion, even though it was really hot!

I love that this place is for lemur preservation, but this is a 15 minute walk-around of a bunch of cages where you can barely see anything. I really thought it was going to be more interactive and more to do and see, but you can barely see into the cages, it was too crowded to hear the guides/volunteers in some spots and overall just an extremely underwhelming experience.

Had fabulous walking with lemurs tour today. A fun, informative and up-close experience with these magnificent animals. Staff and volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable.

What a fantastic facility with great access to the lemurs! During the summer they have open house weekends when the lemurs are viewable in enclosures and also indoors in the nocturnal house where those lemurs who are active at night are on a flipped schedule from our own. During the summer they don't offer first this where you can see the lemurs in the forest outside of the enclosures which I'm sure is fantastic.

What a great experience! While the center itself may be a bit awkward to find, my GPS was accurate. If you drive yourself, there is ample parking. Make sure you come property dressed for the weather. If it's raining, you might get wet and muddy. The tours were prompt and informative. Everyone that worked there was friendly and knowledgeable. They have a plethora of lemurs which is a true treat in North America! A definite must-stop if you're in the area.

A must see if you're in Durham (reservations required). We learned a lot about lemurs from our knowledgeable guide, and got to see several outdoors and heard them howl at each other. There is also an indoor room for the nocturnal Aye-Aye that looks bat-like. The gift store is also worth a visit - you can buy a painting made by a lemur!

My family and I certainly enjoyed seeing up close and learning about these cute, unique animals that only live in Madagascar besides this special facility at Duke. Great efforts have been made to create a natural environment for them. Staff members are very knowledgeable and friendly. Great family outing to reserve. !

The conservation work the Duke Lemur Center does is 5 stars, the tour is more like 3 stars. It was cool to get to see different kinds of lemurs because it seems like you only ever see ring tailed lemurs anywhere else but the viewing can be difficult in their winter habitats. It would probably be a lot more fun to see the lemurs in their summer habitats so we might give it another try later in the year to see if it makes a difference. Since the tour fee goes towards the cost of caring for the lemurs I don't regret spending the money.

I visited the Duke Lemur Center with my family and got to see the adorable lemurs. My tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. We all had many questions about the lemurs, and she answered each and every one. We all learned so much about lemurs and highly recommend going to the gift shop. There are these paintings that the Lemur's created and it's amazing!

Very nice Historic walkway with a few restaurants. The waterfalls along the path are super nice especially on a warm sunny day! There isn't much to do here except a few restaurants, it says there is retail shopping, but there isn't. We asked and there is 1 store, so if you are planning to shop that will not happen here. The old buildings are well preserved and nicely done. It took about 20 minutes to walk it. Other than walking and bit to eat there isn't anything to really do here.

It was great coming here and seeing our beautiful Southern history here in the Carolinas. What amazing history. They did a good job here keeping this history and reviving it. The place is very traditional and cool to see the brands and cigarettes.

This place is very well kept and nice. We just stroll around during the day on Monday after mother's day. It was quiet and nice. The whole complex is very historical, unfortunately we had a short time to visit and learn. We enjoyed the man-made river, and the waterfalls in front of the YMCA. The water tower and the chimney with Lucky Strike word reminded us this place used to be a tobacco company campus. There were many restaurants, as we were there on Monday, most of them were closed. If we ever go back to Durham, we definitely want to check up on these restaurants and the scene during the night.

The American Tobacco Campus is a superb example of urban renewal meeting historical preservation. This former Lucky Strike cigarette factory has been transformed into a mixed use commercial space, with beautiful land and waterscaping throughout. For visitors, there are numerous restaurants and shops, with seating in green areas for picknicking. A striking water tower and smoke stack rise above this beautiful location, which add to the authenticity and drama of the architecture. If you're in downtown Durham, this is a great place to relax and re-fuel.

Absolutely love this campus! The water views are amazing(better at night). I can literally sit her for hours listening to the flowing water and watching the birds 🐦 play around. There are some restaurants located on campus, so if you get hungry you can eat.

A fantastic corporate and entertainment center in the making. The campus is super business and history nerd attractive - have lunch, outdoor meetings, and history tours all here. It was a delicious experience walking al fresco and having lunch in April even in my suit. The restaurant in the photos has FANTASTIC empanadas that you will not want to miss especially if you're looking for a healthy quick bite in between meetings. Charming, ecclectic, yet safe and gentrified enough. Definitely family friendly.

This is such a beautiful slice of history! They have really created an atmosphere that is inviting and friendly. Lots of restaurants and food options as well as live music. And there's no dearth for parking! It's definitely worth spending a few hours in the evening during the warmer months.

Really cool area to walk through and hang out. There's plenty of seating around and the stream that runs through the area is nice. Very relaxing and there's plenty of benches, chairs, and even hammocks sit and hang out!

Fun beautiful place to walk around with your kids/family. Decorated for Christmas with lots of cute photo ops. We spent a couple hours walking around with our kids, they played on lawn, and we walked over and saw where the Durham bulls play. Free parking at the parking garage on the weekend.

This area was very well thought-out as a redevelopment district. The American Tobacco Campus is well maintained and features an artificial river in the heart of the district. The area provides a relaxing atmosphere and offers a variety of unique restaurants and retail shops. Enjoy the Tobacco Campus during the daytime at lunch, or during a late-night stroll. It's a fine gem to the city of Durham.

A great campus to visit, historic, social, fun to explore and take a walk around, surrounded by offices and restaurants, free entry, enough parking garages, after parking you might have to walk a lil. There is a small yard to sit and relax, can bring young kids.

Definitely a bit on the utilitarian side, lots of offices and work spaces for students, but still a great place to visit if you're in the area. My wife and I came on a random weekday and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of things to see. Not the most intuitive layout, with a few restaurants and retail stores littered about, so definitely worth exploring!

Absolutely love this place. I don’t venture out to Durham a lot but I will say this place is awesome. Can’t wait to go back on a nicer day and maybe catch a baseball game too.

So far the most beautiful social district I have ever been to ! A perfect mix of mountain waterfall vibes mixed with big city fun. Wish they would have had more basic budget friendly restaurant options but was overall an absolutely amazing experience. I have been telling everybody about it !

Well kept business park area with a large selection of surrounding restaurants, espresso, and more. Nice large yard area for hanging out and enjoying the sun in. Nice area to bring your kids or have work lunch. Very well lit and nice at night. No cost entry but have to pay for parking most likely. Free to walk around in and such. Lots of available parking at parking garages.

What an asset to the city of Durham! Public spaces are hard to come by these days, but American Tobacco Campus acts as a sort of living room for this part of the city. The space was quiet on a Sunday morning, but it made for some fun wandering and exploring, camera (and phone) in hand.

Very cool historic place. It's neat to walk around and just explore. We stopped in the little shops and they are super quirky and fun. The restaurants looked good too (but we didn't eat at any of them). Great location to take selfies or social media photos for all of those young folks. Or a nice place for a romantic stroll with your loved ones in the evening. Just see it for yourself!

What a magnificent place i don t know how to describe it you can feel the past while living in the present , that place is so calm and kids friendly this was my first time visiting and i am definitely coming back since summer is near.

Durham bulls stadium is very nice and clean, parking is not that far of a walk. We went for the winter wonderland. It was really nice and to too crowded. As always it's fun times here.

Really cool experience, first time to a Duke game with really great seats. The history and traditions are amazing here. Definitely recommend going with someone who is a rabid fan.

Had a blast watching Duke play! Stadium was a little smaller than I'm used to which was actually great! Made each seat like the best in the house! Awesome experience, would love to go back and watch another game!

They are very strict about wearing your masks and you need to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative covid test to enter. The only thing I had a slight issue with is that they are NO CASH, only credit or debit cards. So make sure you are aware of this before going.

Great first time experience watching a Duke basketball game. I am not a fan but love college basketball and know how much history there is in this building. Such a great venue to be so close to the action and the student section is very entertaining!! A must to visit if you are a fan of college basketball!!

The venue itself is very clean and well organized. Staff had an organized plan of getting us in safely. While we had amazing seats, every seat has a nice view of the court.

A must visit if possible. Just the energy of the building is amazing. Need to go to the trophy room as well, great presentation of Duke's sports accomplishments.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a Duke alumnus and this place is home to me. I cannot imagine anyone passing up the opportunity to see a game in this historic venue (even those of you that love to hate Duke) I have been here well over a hundred times and writing a review seems silly. I can only say that there is so much history in here. The intricacies of this tiny stadium are worth exploring for any sports fan. If you are lucky enough to see a game, the intimacy and energy of Cameron will take your breath away even if you are rooting against Duke. The student section has changed a lot from the first Cameron Crazies back in the 80s and Durham has grown and matured as city, but Cameron remains a must-see landmark in this area. Do not miss it!

A small stadium packed with a large personality! Cameron Indoor is an infamous as the tent city outside so be prepared for close-quarters with fellow fans as you cheer on the Duke Bluedevils...or be prepared to ride the pine in the visitors section 😉

Always a good time. The stadium is beautiful and well maintained. The atmosphere is so full of energy and good vibes. The food options are pretty great. Can't go wrong with Bojangles and Smithfield's. The hall of fame and the swag store are really cool. The boys at Duke are ALWAYS killin it! *Swoosh*

Was a dream come true! My wife and I were able to go to a Duke basketball game! I’ve wanted to go since I could remember and we had a ball and best of all Duke won! If you’re a fan…gotta go!

My dad, my son and I shared this experience together for the first time. None of us have ever been there before. The worst thing was parking. That wasn't even bad though, just a little walking in the cold. We had an absolute blast though! Cameron was extremely accommodating. We were afraid my son couldn't see with everyone standing. They actually marked off an area on the bottom stands just for kids and their families. They placed us where my son was able to high five the entire team and Jon Scheyer! It was amazing! My dad and I were excited being there! But my son was in Heaven! He lit up every time he showed up on the jumbotron and each time he got a high five! Security was always so nice and told the kids to get ready that someone was coming to high five! We got so many souvenirs for free and paid for. This was truly a memory that will last forever and I'm so happy that Duke was so accommodating! This is why we are duke fans and my son's nickname is JJ (aka Josh Jr).

If you are hungry there is food available from snacks to pizza to other vendors. If you are looking to just enjoy the game, that will happen too! Plenty of ushers to help you find your seat and great basketball to boot!

Great place and great environment. Not too far from parking areas, and those paths are clearly marked. Arena is laid out very well and easy to navigate. Lots of workers who are happy to help too if needed. Always a fun visit and one of my favorite arenas to visit.

What an awesome spot! This was our first time coming to this park. It's about an hour drive for us, but it was worth it! The park itself is easy enough to get to. As for parking, there are very limited spots- especially on the weekends when we went. If you're going, make sure to plan ahead, get there early to get a parking spot, and to avoid the crowds. There are many trails located here. We decided on the Cox Mountain Trail. It has a decent length of about 4 miles round trip, views of the river, a suspension bridge, as well as an old cabin! The trail was easy to follow. There are plenty of signs pointing the way for you to go, as well as marks on the trees. Super easy going and you never have to wonder if you went the right way. The route was easy enough, as trails go. We stopped a few times so the kids could play in the water and search for Crayfish. We're definitely coming back here to check out the other trails. I hear the Quarry is cool!

Today was the first time that my husband and I and our dog went to this park. I had never heard of it even though I've lived in North Carolina for over 15 years and within an hour of this park for 9 years. And luckily I saw it on the map as we were actually headed somewhere else. Such an amazing and beautiful park. The Ranger was very helpful with telling me how to get to a trail. They have a lovely swinging bridge and beautiful river that you can walk alongside. Dog friendly! Which is an absolute must anywhere we go. Beautiful tress, cool tree root formations and just an overall well kept, spacious park with lots of easy accessible trails and lots of shorter trails for people who can't do longer ones or for dogs that can't do longer ones. I did not see any doggy poo bags so make sure you bring your own! Loved it so much!

While it’s not the most awe inspiring park around, Eno River is nice. There’s plenty of parking and a spacious picnic area. The paths in the picnic area are paved which can help if a picnic is the only thing you’re here for. On the park itself, in the right light and weather, the river is beautiful. The sound of running water is rather calming. The hikes are easy to moderate and on the shorter side. The highlight for me was the suspension foot bridge. It’s not something found on a lot of hikes and it’s a unique experience.

With 5 entry points and almost 30 miles of trails this place has room for everyone. The water is shallow so canoeing and kayaking can be difficult. Check their calendar for events and activities. It's also great for camping and facilities are also reservable. Enjoy! 😊

Felt wonderful during our unplanned stop at this park. Loved walking through Eno River Ped Bridge and it’s trails very well maintained. This park is for all ages. River flowing is shallow, liked walking on trails along with this river, green trails. This park has picnic benches, very cool shelters, Wilderness cabin, great parking area, restrooms. Great for camping. This park has other entrances too. Grab a map and decide which part of the park you would like to enjoy, I was at Fews Ford. Worth visiting.

Beautiful scenic park with doable easy walking trials, if you want to challenge yourself follow the cox mountain trial which is a 5 miles trial . We absolutely loved our weekend hike . Must do things around Raleigh

Took the kids to Eno for the first time yesterday. Extremely easy to access the park off the highway. The parking, trail access and picnic areas were really nice and large. The kids had a blast playing in the river, enjoying natural currents and jumping off some logs in the water. The only negative I found was there's really nowhere to put your bags or water bottles close the the water. We put our things on dirt and had a lot to clean up when we left.

We loved our visit to the gorgeous Eno River State Park. The trails were well-kept and clean, and the scenery was beautiful. We went to the Cox Mountain trail, where there was plenty of parking, picnic benches, and a trail head that went to the cool suspension bridge over the river. The trails beyond the picnic benches are not paved and may be less accessible to those that do not have sure footing.

One of the best place I ever visited. Nice trails. With a small stream where you can take a dip.

Love this park. The trails are well marked the water is clean It is very rocky. The restroom are drop toliets but the must pump them regularly they are not overwhelming any time I have been to the park. We saw two water snakes, lots of different birds, tadpoles and fish.

This is my favorite NC State park!! I have been to 2/3 of them and continue to make the 3 hour trek from my home to Eno. I have camped at the primitive sites and always felt safe and accounted for. The trails are relatively easy to hike. The river can often be waxed across so long as you don’t mind the water going up to shoulders if there’s a lot of flow. This place is super family friendly. lots of nature like deer, birds, turtles, fish and the occasional snake. Plenty to explore like the historic buildings and the footbridge. This place is a gem and it’s easily accessible to the Triangle, I-85 & I-40. All the rangers I’ve met are great and helpful and the facilities are always clean. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this park!

The walking trails are well marked. You can easily choose to take a shorter or longer walk. There were maps of the trails and facilities to take along with you. There's designated parking but it fills up quickly. I noticed cars parked along the street (they didn't have parking violation tickets).

There was a really nice person at the visitor center who helped us get our bearings. The suspension bridge across the river is right behind the center. There are many hiking trails that we will explore in future visits.

Amazing park. I didn't have to walk far to get to the bridge & cabin. It's practically right by parking, but far enough to feel like you're deep in the woods. Got some great photos, I will most definitely be back for another visit. This place is a photographer's dream. If you like nature & trails, you'll like this place. I went on a weekend, everyone was nice and let people take their turn photographing the bridge and cabin. The trails last for miles, if you like nature walks. This place put me at ease and it was a great experience. People were walking on the trails with their dogs, taking professional photos, smiling, and laughing. Highly recommend a visit, even if it's for a short walk. A lot of people were there with their family and kids. Finding the swinging bridge was a bit difficult, because there were no signs. However, I found a post that had a map you could take with you to know where everything was. I inevitably, started to follow a couple who clearly knew where they were going. Once I started walking on the trail, I could see the swinging bridge. I'll be back for another visit soon. Thanks for the great experience 😀

A GREAT place for a walk in the woods! Very clean, leave no trace behind rule is followed

This is probably my favorite park in all of North Carolina. The trails give everyone a chance to slow down and enjoy nature. You can fish along the river at spots like Bobbit's Hole, walk the trails, or reserve a primitive campsite of your choice. I really liked that the trails are of varied lengths. You could walk as little or as much as you want.

This park is really nice, you can go in the river in some areas. There is a fun suspension Bridge to crosse and many trails. The welcome building is new, ranger is very informative, bathrooms are nice and clean.

The exhibits were wonderful, we visited over the weekend. And the space is huge! However we were asked to go back ALL the way back to the parking lot because our LITTLE backpack purses were an issue (eye roll). We’re not college students and were from out of town and even noticed a few tote style purses and shopping bags that were bigger then our LITTLE backpack purses. A note on the sign at the bottom of the steps would be nice and helpful!!!

Awesome place! Has some great well curated special exhibits as well as interesting permanent collection. Paid parking is $2 / hour. Easy to combine with Sarah Duke Gardens & Duke Cathedral. If you are up for walking a bit more the bookstore with Duke merch and Cameron Indoor stadium are a short walk away from the Cathedral.

What a remarkable facility right there on the Duke campus. We saw a very entertaining and energetic dance performance in a space that seemed perfect for the choreography. Many thanks to the museum for hosting such an event - free to the public. Can't wait for the next such event.

Nice little museum. They have 3 sections. One is pretty standard fair: Greek vases, oil paintings, etc.. It's the other two that make it with going to. They have rotating exhibits and they were fantastic.

You have to pay for parking but not the museum. Always a nice assortment of permanent collection and new exhibit. I do wish the front desk was a bit more welcoming on entry. They ask your zip code but don't offer any overview of the galleries which would be super helpful to someone new. Yes, I could have asked but he seemed so engrossed by whatever he was reading on his phone, I didn't want to disturb him. Otherwise, nice visit and I did figure it out on my own. March 2024- it seemed they were working on revamping the gift shop. I didn't eat at the cafe but the food I saw looked quite good and I'll plan for lunch on my next visit.

Spent time at the restaurant which has a varied selection to cater to most palettes. The service is curtious and speedy. Parking is close or you can find it for free on streets nearby. Definitely worth spending time here if you visit Duke.

Came here on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything was well managed including people walking around making sure no one touched or bumped anything.

Excellent and diverse at collection. Each piece has a detailed description and often artist information. It was definitely worth the trip.

Wow, such a beautiful place it is. It was a weekday that we were there, and there was a gallery opening that day. Really loved the new collection. The concept of changing the art exhibits every once in a while is very thoughtful. Hope to come back again for newer exhibits.

The perfect museum for those who think art museums are dull - the collection is so varied, and the size is approachable.

I've gone three times and been sorely disappointed each time. The exhibits were uninspiring, the displays--lighting, organization, etc--were worse. With the resources of a great university at hand, I find it doubly puzzling that this is so. I think the curatorial staff might benefit from attending the Museum Leadership Institute and networking with the attendees and staff. I'm not sure what this place is trying to be. I can't help but contrast this museum and the experience there with what Carlos Tortelero and Helen Valdez achieved with the Mexican Fine Arts Center museum (now the National Museum of Mexican Art), without any resources at all--no university backing, no money-- nothing, really, but a very clear idea about what they wanted to be.

The curation was interesting and engaging. The museum is now free! ($2/hr for parking)

Wow such a great museum. I went in a visit for class so we were able to see the storage room. the art was breathe taking. The staff was sooo friendly and helped answer questions in an informed manner. I was there during spirit in the land which was a beautiful collection. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and will 100% come back next time i’m near duke!

I adore the Nasher. We’ve been a few times recently and now it’s free thanks to some generous support. There is a fee to park, but I think it’s free on the weekends. The cafe is excellent, very delicious food and drinks. Check out the gift shop for fun ideas. They have free lockers and a coat room up the stairs. Lastly- the art!! Go check out the art!!!! So much amazing ancient and modern art with changing exhibits. I highly recommend to take the family, go with friends, or beautiful for a date.

A nice little museum with lots to offer in such a small space. Free, suggested donation five dollars. Factual account of the surrender of 90 thousand confederate troops, ending the Civil War. Monument and period buildings. Picnic tables and nature trails. Truly a hidden gem of Durham.

This is a very important part of history! Very seldom do you come to a place that has such significant impact on American history. To be in the spot that they signed such a life changing document was truly chilling. The museum was very well done and the video was very good. Staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Don't pass up the opportunity to visit a very important historical site if in the area.

Really great introductory film on the significance of Bennett place. We timed our visit for 10 am tour by a volunteer. It was AMAZING. Ralph W, a retired history teacher, wove the facts into an amazing narrative that had us listening intently. We weren't all history nerds, but really enjoyed it.

Great park and memorial to the surrender of the Confederate armies of Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Crazy to think that a large portion of the conflict came down to 2 guys sitting in a little farm house. A reminder IMO that we cannot do things such as this again.

The best time to visit here is during Memorial Day, a big celebration of 1860 civil war and open From 10am to 4pm However, we checked it out and the place is not really big but it will be crowded the the Memorial week celebration, free admission, free parking and there’s a gift shop as well .Enjoy your visit and have fun.

Nice, relatively unknown historical place. The surrender that occurred here, from Gnl. Johnston to Gnl. Sherman, marked the nd of full-blown armed hostilities. It was not the final surrender of the Confederacy. Excellent museum, and Drew and Ryan are the type of fellers you could chat with at a bar with a beer, and forget what day it is, let alone what hour.

We really enjoyed visiting Bennett Place! Ralph was one of the best tour guides I've ever had! So informative and animated. Not a boring tour at all!

My wife and I took our 1 year old granddaughter here. They had some people reenacting the era. It was magnificent!! A low-key, relaxing, unique time. There are no big crowds and so many small details to enjoy. Kudos to the volunteers who really make this special. If you're single, a couple, a family, or just some friends hanging out, this is a pretty cool experience. Don't go if you're looking for loud and adrenaline pumping. The lack of those are why this place is chill. There is a nice museum here, too. Unfortunately, I only took one or two pictures inside to share. Entrance is free, but there's a donation box. Please give as you can. Ladies were there selling baked goods, too. They were delicious. Go check this place out! 😁

Excellent museum and collection of items. It's pretty amazing the significance of what actually happened here. Consider it a bonus if coming on a day with period re-enactment. The day we came there was a regime gun demonstration. Free admission but donations welcome.

The Bennett Place Historic Site is a must visit for locals and tourists alike. The historical significance of the location is not something that is really taught in schools, at least in New York, so it was a very informative visit for me. It was amazing to see so many historical artifacts inside the exhibit and they were different from what was at the History Museum in Raleigh, so I recommend a visit to both places for those interested in history. It has a nice little gift shop with unique items that are all well priced. The outside lawns are well kept and it’s a beautiful place to go for a walk, to bring your dog or even have a picnic. For me, the best thing about it was the worker who was there on the day I went. We spoke for hours about the history of the site as well as the history of North Carolina and the south. It was just a very informative and engaging talk with someone who had a lot of knowledge and was also interested in talking about the history of where I’m from. I could not recommend visiting this place enough and also want to encourage people to engage with the staff and volunteers; you’ll get a lot more out of the experience if you do.

Did you know this was where the last surrender of a major Confederate Army? The Agreement between Major Johnson and Col. Sherman was signed in the main house. There is a museum in the visitor center and a 17 minute video to inform you of the significance of the Bennett Place. You can see in each of the buildings. The main house has a sitting area and a bedroom. We couldn’t go up stairs. The kitchen and dining table is in another building. They did this so if the kitchen caught on fire they would still have living quarters. The difference in the size of the fireplaces between the main house and the kitchen made it understandable why they were separate buildings!! The is a guided tour available or you can tour on your own. The gazebo was for a band for parties. We didn’t get to hike the trail. It was a very informative adventure!

This is a small but incredible piece of Civil War history. For a suggested donation of $2-3/person and flat walking paths, it's a very accessible site to visit. It's not often you get to walk the same path General Sherman took to surrender. I definitely recommend this quick stop while traveling through Durham

There are some very unique restaurants and stores in Brightleaf Square with good variety. I will say that the diversity of stores is fairly good although they can be over priced depending on which store you're going to. Can't beat though that there is Market and Otis with a very large patio, Saint James with amazing seafood, Rose's with great eats and treats, Clouds Brewing, etc etc. Parking is available in 2 large lots.

Brightleaf square is a must visit location in downtown Durham. The historic nature of the property is worthwhile in itself, nevertheless the great businesses within. Parking across Main Street is the best option, as street parking is very limited and the lot across is free.

Historic, fabulous, outdoor, walking shopping and eating district, loves and spent many fun days here. Satisfaction’s, Devine’s, Torreo’s long time staples in restaurants. School Kid Records, Bull City Olive Olive, boutiques, cafes, pastry and coffee shops, good place for kids and families. Parking it tight, few free wheelchair accessible parking spaces, small paid lot, some free parking near or behind some places like Devine’s. Downtown Durham parking is always tight or pay lot. Fun place, must visit when in Durham NC!

Many people are saying this is the worst office in the Duke system, which is why they have fake reviews (read them!). Don't be fooled by the inflated ratings. They need change, and fast!

Every time we go we find a new place to check out. Tonight was Pine Cone which now carries Maple View Farm ice cream. So good! Also you can park in the lots across the street with validation from one of the restaurants or stores.

I actually went to Cloud Brewing. They sell you a wristband then you just go up and get your own beer. They have great food and the service is awesome. I took my family there and my dad who is 86 loved it, I had to cut him off.

Beautiful sports with a variety of food and retail spots to choose from. A few people remarked that it reminded them of Germany. It's a beautiful spot to meet friends at and enjoy the weather.

My husband and I had the pleasure of going here to see our daughter Kornbread Jeté in her last show and this was a beautiful place and the performances by everyone was Amazing! We met wonderful people here as well!! Definitely a Night to celebrate always!!

Noteworthy, historic and unique venue in Durham. My wife and I were fortunate enough to see Kathleen Madigan as an anniversary present to one another. This is a cozy and well cared for gem. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it’s in a very popular and trendy area of Durham. Which also makes it a nice place to stop for a meal before an evening show and perhaps drinks afterward. Definitely worth checking out even if just for sightseeing. I believe the building was erected in 1926 but has been well cared for and maintained.

Not only is this theater absolutely beautiful but it still has that intimate feel to it. I love that they offer such diverse shows for viewing and everyone seemed so genuinely happy to be there. I cannot wait to go back!

Nice, clean, venue with accommodating staff. Theatre had been lovingly restored and modernized. Seats are ok and comfortable enough. The sound can be hit or miss based on where you sit. In the center section, closer than 12 rows in, and it's diffuse, probably because there is no speaker array over the center, just right and left. A stack over the center section would greatly improve the sound. Prices for food and drink are reasonable and served with enthusiasm. Staff is still masked, although patrons have a choice, which is nice. If an artist you like has a show here, it's worth the price of admission. Solid venue.

Wife and I had the pleasure of seeing Chris Isaac and his band last night. What an outstanding show. What a great little venue. Looking forward to our next visit.

I’m excited to experience this beautiful landmark located in the heart of Downtown Durham. It is steep in history and offer a unique experience to both the past and future of iconic building such as live local, regional, national and international events.

I only came across this place because they were doing a retro horror series, but this place is freaking awesome. No idea how I haven't come across it before, but the fact that they do ongoing retro movies of all genres is absolutely genius. The place was high-quality, super fun, a well laid out theater and excellent experience all around. Going to come back again and again (starting today, w second movie in two days), probably even becoming a season-ticket holder!

90 year old classic theater with authentic decor. After the initial sound checks the place really sounded great. Not a terrible seat in the place. Even the back row of the second balcony had a good view and acoustics. Do beware of the ceiling of the upper balcony and the protrusion of the old projection booth as it obstructs your view slightly if you are far back in the upper balcony seats. I'd be very interested in seeing other shows in this venue.

Awesome experience for a concert! All staff were so friendly and helpful. This venue felt very comfortable and was more intimate feel than a lot of the larger venues.

We had an awesome experience last night here! As a ladies' night, we met for dinner around the corner, and then the play Menopause. The cast were very talented. Not only could they sing and dance, but they also pulled off physical comedy perfectly! The theatre is gorgeous and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be planning more outings here!!

Great venue for a concert! Unfortunately we were on the second tier balcony, which was up there, but you could hear and see everything, just not make out faces that good, for these old eyes. The seats have seen better days, should be replaced. Overall a great experience, and we would go back to Durham for more concerts here!

I had a wonderful time. I loved that they had concessions on every level. The esthetics of this theater are divine, staff is the most personable and polite of all theaters I've ever been too in NC. Gevalia, I use to floor seating but the balcony didn't disappoint not one bit. Just one thing I'd pass on is that dry white kernel popcorn almost made me choke twice. All in all great time. I lived to tell. Lol

Wonderful venue! The seats we a little narrow for my 'full-sized' tail. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

What a lovely evening seeing swan lake performed here. The venue maintains its historic roots while keeping the atmosphere clean and friendly. Plenty of room in the seats and a lovely waiting area in the lobby for intermission and pre-show. It is a non-profit and could always benefit from generous donors and a full house. I highly recommend seeing at least one show there if you're ever in the Durham area!

Went to see The Nutcracker. This was my first time at the Carolina Theatre. It is charming. It's not the ritziest, but it is quaint. There are no cup holders on the theater seats but the seats are comfortable and the theater was very clean. There is a concessions stand. And the restrooms were plenty and clean. One Con: the grade of the floor of the seating area is not steep, so it can be difficult to see over the people in front of you as they are nearly on the exact same level as you. But all in all, I enjoyed my experience. I was neat the rear & towards the side but felt I could see the stage well. I will be returning. *the cast did great as well!

Great historic venue and theater. Not a bad seat in the house! Great sound for any type of show, even rock concerts. It's a historic beautiful building. The seats are kind of small with little leg room. Clean bathrooms. plenty of concessions

What a treat! If you are interested in taking your kids to experience art and culture at a reasonable price, visit the Carolina Theater for the Saturday Family Series. Al Strong and his brass band gave a top notch performance and gave the children and parents an interactive lesson in music history. Parking is convenient and free in the deck across the street. Concessions are available to purchase and enjoy with the show.

Nearly a century old, but fully modernized, this theatre is a joy for attending an event. Every seat is a good seat with a great view, an intimate experience. These aren't cushy cupholder seats, but more standard padded fold-down seats. The acoustics are really good with modern amplification. A small, modern concession stand will fix you up with snacks and drinks (no contactless, yet) at the usual theatre prices. They have concerts, plays, and movies, with an easy to read schedule and a mailing list to keep you informed. The theatre is funded by ticket proceeds, concessions, donors, and membership if you want to support them more (you'll hear a little about it before the performance). A must-visit venue, and you'll be back for more!

This historic venue is gorgeous, the staff is all smiles and courteous, everything is meticulously clean, and they have great shows of all sorts. A gem among venues in the Triangle!

I've brought groups here 5 times and each time the experience exceeds our expectations. Make sure you go through the museum. It is self-guided and explains all about he history of tobacco. Take the guide -lead tour of the homestead. The guides really know their stuff.

We visited for a school field trip. The 4-part tour was organized and efficient. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. It's not a deep tour, but it was a second grade field trip so that tracks. A solid experience.
