We brought a large number of students to review the museum and the interactive display was riveting! The students related well to the feeling of living through that time in America's not too distant past. The exhibit really carried them back in time. They understood more clearly the scope of the problems that motivated many of our ancestors to act as they did to secure their freedom. Great lessons for today's organizers. Well done!

We were in the children's wing on a field trip. I was disappointed that, although we were "riding" on Rosa Parks bus, they have information about the struggles of African Americans from 1840-1950's, which is important to know, but not much on what Rosa Parks did. It would have been nice to have footage in the video of that. They teased in the video, saying that something big was about to happen, but didn't talk about it. Instead the kids went on a scavenger hunt for info, but I don't remember that the info found was that much about Rosa, as well. I was just hoping that such an important woman would have more info about her.

We took the 45 minute time machine tour. It was really good and was presented in a neat way.

Neat time capsule of the first Confederate white house before moving to Richmond. Museum is free to see. They have a tiny gift shop. If you're a history nerd like me, it's worth a visit if you're visiting Montgomery.

This house was, for a short time, the official residence of Jefferson Davis, first president of the Confederate States of America. Other than that, it is merely an old house filled with old furnishings; I didn't feel it gave me any particular insight into the man or his life and times. On the other hand, I like touring old houses and didn't mind spending 30 minutes or so in this one. Many of the artifacts were personal items used by Davis and his family and the history of the Antebellum furnishings, including who made and owned them, is thoroughly described.

A great learning experience enhanced exponentially by Mr. Brown and especially, Mr. Whelan who was kind enough to show us around the rooms of the home and shared various details about the items on display. It would be easy to skip over difficult parts of history, but I'm grateful to have the opportunity to learn a different perspective. A wonderful visit and FREE!

The first White House of the Confederacy is just that and was the home to the President of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Davis. Here, you will see how he lived as the rooms are all furnished to look like it was when he lived there. Imagine Robert E. Lee visiting as well as other leaders of the time. The house is really a museum, and the upstairs holds original clothes and relics of the Civil War, or as many would rather say, the War Between the States. Swords, personal items of Davis and others as well as flags, letters, shoes, money and so much more are on display. A visit here is a history lesson like no other. Believe me, you will have a deeper understanding of those times that changed America. So beautifully decorated and a fabulous place to visit. Full of history to see and read. The curator was wonderful and full of knowledge which he was glad to share. They have a quaint little gift area with interesting books and other little items. This is a historical site so drop them a little donation in their little box to help maintain this beautiful place.

Alabama is full of history, and if you're looking for a good tourist location, the Capitol City is one place you shouldn't miss. My daughter recently had a field trip to the Davis Theatre, and the Alabama historical artifacts building is completely covered in beautiful white marble . The staff there is amazing and well versed in all the historical artifacts .

Visited with my wife who is a history teacher. The hosts were very generous, told us some stories and gave some material for my wife's class. The home is beautifully maintained and filled with interesting historical artifacts. I'm glad we visited!

If I could give more stars I would. The First White House of the Confederacy is one of the finest museums we have been to anywhere. Beautifully preserved with wonderful artifacts displaying a brief slice of history. The staff are some of the most gracious, knowledgeable and friendly people we have had the pleasure to me. This home has mostly original furnishings and detailed descriptions of each room. A definite must see, so elegant.

Really great experience, a must see if you are in the area. The curators are so knowledgeable and happy to tell you about the history. Great central location as well, easy to find parking near by.

Very interesting place! People that oversee the house are very friendly and shared their knowledge of the home. So much of original furniture and family personal items are there. It's free, but they appreciate donations!

Mr. Bob was AMAZING!!! My Husband and I visited the amazing First Confederate White House today and Mr. Bob took so much time and gave us the best tour! He was great! The house and the history it hold is amazing! Definitely a must see and do when in Montgomery!

Very unique and educational experience. The house is free to tour and self-guided. There’s a small room of artifacts upstairs and tiny gift shop. If you have questions there is also a guy around to help with history.

Excellent delivery of historical facts and footage. A must-see landmark to be revered by all races of individuals open to knowing the truths, speaking these truths among their family, friends, religious coomunities, local politicians, and courageous enough to seek and act in ways to confront current day systemic racism.

Great hour tour. It was just what we were looking for on MLK day. The tour might not start off great. They have you watch a 10-15 min poorly produced video of the home’s history before going over. In my opinion they could completely cut that out. The talking and in-person storytelling was much better. The tour guide did an awesome job telling the story of 54-60 as though we were there. He had lots of anecdotal evidence and retrospection, meeting history. I don’t think he could have done a better job delivering historic wonderment to the kids in the group. He tailored the tour to the audience well. There may be some points that are more round about, but the tour is a well spent hour of your time while in Montgomery. Make sure to follow the Dexter Parsonage up with going to the MLK’s Church on 454 Dexter Ave!

It was so great to visit this house that Martin Luther King lived in. Wish I could have went in, but it was a Sunday.

We went to Montgomery to visit several of the Civil Rights Museum and points of interest and I knew I wanted to see the Dexter Parsonage to see where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King lived during their time in Montgomery. I found the house very easily with free parking available. I wasn't sure if tours were being given at the time but I knew it must have been meant for us to see when the security guard said "Looking for the tour?" I did not hesitate to go in and we were greeted by two women unbeknownst to us, has connections to the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and Dr. King. To me that alone was special. They have kept the house going and treats it with so much love and care. We paid for the tour and it was worth every cent; and in return we received detailed personal stories that are simply priceless. Each room in the house has its own story. It does get emotional and I was in awe of the furniture and items which takes you back in time. I will say it is the best tour I have experienced and if it is just you and the group you came with; the experience is tripled we were not rushed. All of our questions were answered. I want to give a huge thank you to the ladies' operating the parsonage. The overall experience was so pleasant. I adore this place and will visit again.

I enjoyed this visit unfortunately both works were on lunch so we weren't able to get inside to see everything. The one employee was able to assist with giving us additional information and history about the site. We will be heading back soon.

This tour was facilitated and led by women who were descendants of the Civil Right Movement in Alabama. These volunteers lovingly shared their personal and documented stories with us. This is an amazing tour. Thank you ladies! A must if you are in Montgomery!

Hidden gem! We were the only people there and got so much out of it. We had an awesome tour guide and are sad people are not visiting this place more. It's a historical landmark for the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. This place marked me personally and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone driving through or in the area.

While I did not have the opportunity to tour the museum, the history behind it deserves 5 stars.

You had to tour options we did what it was just a walk through the smaller one and the tour guide he takes you through the house and he talks about Martin Luther King as the man not the activist not the legend you read about in the books he brings Martin to life it was amazing and it was more than I thought it was going to be if you are in the Montgomery area you have got to make the stop if you truly enjoy history because the way they do these tours it's like you were invited into the home and you are invited to meet the man not the legend not the story. My husband who had no interest in going to this left happy and glad to hear done it

We went for Zoo Weekend, and the ticket prices for an adult was $18. A little steep for a zoo that really doesn't have too much to offer. The animal enclosures are small, and the animals do not look happy. I mean, when you have two cheetahs, you really need a lot of room for them to run. That's what they do, and then the lions? I've seen houses bigger than their enclosure. I just want to enjoy the animals when I go, but instead I'm feeling sorry for them. And any extra thing you want to do, it costs extra money. Whether it be the giraffe encounter or riding the train, it costs extra money. After paying per person at the gate the amount that they charged, how many people have the extra money to do the extra things. It should be all inclusive, in my opinion. Their food, now that was pretty good. And they didn't say anything to us about bringing drinks in from the outside, which we did for the little ones, of course. The zoo workers were all very polite. I'm hoping that the animal caretakers at least give the animals love and affection so that their time here isn't too strenuous.

We went on a weekday and were able to get in rather quickly with a low crowd. Several exhibits were under refurbishment when we went. Some of the exhibits were really nice but it was rather hot so the admirals were mostly hiding in the shade. We rode the train which was nice on a hot day but it costs extra. The sky liner was not running that day. We had lunch at the cafe The food was standard fast food with hamburgers and chicken strips. There is a large seating area outdoors. It is a small zoo but fun to take small kids for animal encounters.

We traveled from Middle Georgia to visit this zoo. Our 4 year old is autistic and we thought the smaller size and slower pace would be better for her than the Atlanta Zoo. We carefully planned our visit and chose this zoo because it is one of the few places within a days drive that has lions (for our 7 year old). We were pleasantly surprised to receive half price admission on a Wednesday. Unfortunately, we were terribly disappointed to learn the discount was due to several major exhibits not being open. We did not see the lions, giraffes, zebras or lemurs. The website is outdated. Call and confirm before you go. The Mann museum is advertised as "touch and feel" but the hands on exhibits were removed for Covid and haven't been replaced. As several others mentioned, many areas were closed/under renovation. The train ride was OK, but as another reviewer said, commentary from the conductor would have been a nice touch. The petting zoo is just a fenced in area with a few goats, sheep and a Llama. You don't actually go in, you stand at the fence and try to coax the animals over so you can pet them. If you are within an hour or 90 minutes of Montgomery, it's a good visit. I wouldn't drive any farther than that to see this zoo. (We drove 3 hours each way)

Cute little zoo. Great for small children and can get through in a couple of hours. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and playground. Food isn't ridiculously priced. Just wish there were more indoor exhibits to get out the heat on really hot days. Going in the colder months is definitely preferable.

You can get fairly close to the wildlife. The cost is not too high for a year pass. The site is fairly clean. But the 3 dollar train ride is not worth the money and the fly over ski lift like overlook is not running this time of year. There are lots of great animals to see but the snake and lizard exhibit is at least half empty.

Overall a nice zoo with a good variety of animals. We saw some ants/flies around a few of the animals and their food, so I feel like that could be improved. A few of the enclosures seemed too small in relation to the size of the animals.

This is a fun little zoo! Took us about two and half hours to see it all but had the most big cats I've ever seen in one zoo! Lions, tiger, jaguars, lynx, cougar, cheetah and snow leopard! Lots of shaded area's and play equipment for small children. Friendly and courteous staff, also skylift and train rides. SIDE NOTE ON PARKING: Parking is free but when we arrived at 9am on a Friday just as they opened, it was full and people were parking on the grass. We did the same but security came and told us to move, we said what about everyone else on the grass and he said he didn't catch them lol! No biggie they have overflow parking right next door just be aware of this because we weren't. Fun day overall!

It was a Girl Scouts trip planned and the entire family participated. The weather was fair but we ended the tour early due to lighting watch and ⛈. They have divers of exotic animals and INFO boarda to read up on the creatures. We got to ride the train, pet & feed the 🦒, and ride the skyline. We didn't get to enter the petting zoo due to early weather close. However, definitely recommend to take family or go on a date. Food and drinks was fair and the store has a small inventory. Thanks for a great experience.

Great zoo for a fun day out. FLAT and easy walking. They have an array of animals, a great playground, many shaded areas with picnic tables and even misting stations for those hot summer days. They have a train ride $3, it doesn't stop and you really don't see any animals but it does take you completely around the outer-band of the property. Kids loved the parakeet feeding, $2 for a stick of seeds. Giraffe feeding is $3 but you don't get much for the money. Everyone there was so friendly ... ticket counter, security, gift shop ... all super nice and helpful.

Me personally did not enjoy it. The wood is falling apart and overall it really needs some maintenance. The animals look poor. Not to mention only a handful of animals were out. The train ride isn’t the same. They use to announce exhibits as you pass them now you just ride in silence. Very disappointed. But my grandson loved it.

Was an overall decent experience but not too many active animals. It was a very hot day though too. A bit pricey but nonetheless fun. The elephants were engaging and one even went for a swim. Food was good and kitchen staff were all super friendly and inviting. Feeding the giraffe was a hit for my family!

The place is so well kept and pretty. Travelled on a day when most things were kind of closed. But still got to experience the train ride. The Mann museum is such a knowledgeable place. A great learning experience. The details on the animals are so well portrayed. Their origin and all. Peacocks all over the place, amazing view. Andddd they have a freaking photo boothhhh!!!!

The Christmas Lights Festival was great as usual. Pay attention to weather forecast and dress appropriately. Ski Lift and Train Ride were both fun and great activities to capture pictures from.

The line for food was long and took up a good chunk of time (before kids got upset and sleepy) and some of the animal cages were empty. But overall my kids loved seeing the ones that were out and especially the gift shop lol

The zoo is a go-to for our family on nice days. I recently *finally* took my kids into the wildlife museum. The museum itself is absolutely worth the trip! My 3 year old was in awe.

First time there and was very impressed. More variety than the Birmingham zoo. Loved the airlift ride.

There is a nice play area for all kids. The Mann museum is very informative. A few enclosures were closed and the place needs a deep cleaning.

We came when children were at school so it was pretty empty. Would've been perfect if the staff were friendly. The young woman in the cafe made it better. The food wasn't good but the kids got hats and cute cups to take home.

One of the most historic churches in Montgomery where MLK served as pastor from 1954 to 1960! I highly recommend stopping by while visiting Montgomery!

This is a great area to walk around with so much history. This is a must stop to see where Dr. Luther King preached and to add to your black history information. It was closed when we were there.

Such an amazing place to visit. The history of this church is worth going. Also, the rosa parks museum is right around the corner. It's a must see.

We thought the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church was a lovely example of churches from the period. The history that occurred here is undeniable and this was a definite crucible of change. Unfortunately it was locked the morning that we visited but you could not miss the history here, even viewing only from the outside.

I'm in awe of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and his work and life for civil rights and his dedication to King Jesus. 😭

With it's stained glass windows and woodwork make this a beautiful church. It is inspiring to be in a church where Dr. Martin Luther King was the pastor. It was easy to imagine him at the pulpit spreading the Lord's word and advocating for equality. There is a mural that tells the history of Dr. King and others that stood for equality and segregation. It is quite interesting and impactful. The tour was great, it didn't disappoint. Nikki showed us around, she was wonderful!!!!! She explained everything and interacted well with my special needs daughter. There was another women, I didn't get her name, was just as sweet as Nikki. You can see the spirit of the Lord working in these ladies. God bless you all.

Absolutely Loved! This is my second visit here and it is still heartwarming to be in the place where THE DR. Martin Luther King, Jr preached and lived. The history is amazing!

I took a tour($10) of church. You can take pictures but someone from the group must be in the picture. They have a small gift shop with t-shirts for adults and children, writing pens, pencils, magnets and other great gifts. Be prepared for walking up a flight of stairs. No elevator. The sanctuary is beautiful and original.

Pretty church in downtown Montgomery that was an important location in the Civil rights movement. If you're visiting civil rights sites in the south, it should be on your stop. Across the street is a marker commemorating Jefferson Davis' inauguration and is easy walking distance to the Alabama state capital building where he took his oath of office. Oh, the irony of the start of the Confederacy, and the civil rights movement. Happy to see the civil rights movement ultimately winning the war, though, the battle continues to this day.

Unfortunately, I went on a Tuesday, it was closed, and I was not lucky enough to see this beautiful and important landmark.

Even just stopping by the outside and reading the plaque out front invites a spirit of reverence. Martin Luther King’s fight for civil rights reminds us all to stand up and stand firm in the face of adversity and the church here is a perfect example of maintaining that message.

This is a smaller museum but the memorial outside is powerful.

At this time memorial is closed and water fountain is being renovated. Closed to public. Times past students on my tour would love to place their hands on the names inscribed and remember the people the fountain honors.

Disturbing and a must-see piece of American history. The civil rights march continues and is far from complete. Well worth a visit along with many other Selma and Montgomery sites and museums.

This is a memorial for all the documented lynchings. And the ones that were not documented. Very beautiful. And knowledgeable as well because everything is in alphabetical order so you can find whatever county in the south and see how they got down in the past. Sad how they did my people and we still have a ways to go

That place has a solemn atmosphere, as it holds the stories of sadness, struggle, and resilience. A strong hope lingers there, like a distant beacon. We strongly recommend you to visit this place. You will come out with a different perspective and feeling.

While in Montgomery for work, I visited the Civil Rights Memorial the weekend before Election Day, in the heart of the Confederacy, where some monuments still stand. The 'Traveling While Black" exhibit is a virtual reality experience, allowing you to sit in on conversations at Ben's Chili Bowl (a safe haven for Blacks), as we weren't welcomed in restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. on our journeys. It'll be open until January. Stirring, haunting presentations of this country's racial struggles were admittedly hard to watch, but this visit was needed. Though hurtful, it's necessary to see where we've come from to forge the path toward equality and justice for ALL. The division I see daily makes me sad for humanity, but I know there is hope. Change starts with ALL OF US. Let's purposely show that we matter to each other!

I really enjoyed myself and really appreciated it. My uncle in law Lamar Smith killed in Brookhaven in 1955 sadly was listed in the museum as a activist

Excellent museum/memorial. Very moving displays and movie. $5 entry fee, very quiet and no wait when we went on a weekday morning during Thanksgiving week.

it's a small building but nice ac cold on a hot day they changed us 12 dollars to get in .

There are no words to describe this memorial. It’s a museum for everyone to see to understand the journey of African Americans in this country. Just like visiting the Holocaust museum my breath was taken away. This museum is huge, so I didn’t see everything but will definitely be going back.

We try to visit the State Capital for whatever state we are in. We had a good time at this one. There were cool things to see along with the portrait paintings and the statue room. The greeter was very nice and informative. He showed us around and then we went off and explored on our own. It's a beautiful building with a lot of history. Worth a visit.

They gave no tours except for school children. So we tagged along with the school children. The tour guide gave an excellent tour. He told the group things about the capitol that we wouldn’t have known about unless we were on this tour.

Very nice museum. Visitor guide was very friendly and helpful. Only the governor and I believe secretary of state have offices here. Legislative body resides in a different building.

The lady during the tour was knowledgeable and answered our questions. The guards in the entrance were polite and helpful. They have a nice gift shop inside too. Some areas were under renovation. Still the place is worth the visit. Outside has beautiful landscape. Plenty of parking area. Not busy when we came. Took a lot of pictures.

Absolutely breath taking! Wish I would of wore something more appropriate, didn't think we'd be seeing anyone important! The entry guard was so nice and deserves a raise. The place is something you need to experience in person. Take your children and let them explore history!

A beautiful building that is filled with history. It was completed in 1851, and it was where the Confederacy began in 1861. Just think of the decisions that have been made here over time, and you can see many of the rooms where these historical events took place. Alabama preserves its past, and the State Capitol is no exception. As for the present, well, Alabama is in good hands because the powers that be always have an eye for the future, and that means an even greater State of Alabama for everyone. There is no charge to enter and walk around and experience what so many others before you have. Not everything is accessible to the public for security reasons, but you will come away with a memory that will last a lifetime. Photos are allowed and I took many. George Vreeland Hill

We wanted to go inside but it was closed on Saturday. They have guided tours but you need to check the times online before you go. Impressive building!

This place is directly across from the Alabama Archives Building and you can walk straight across the road to it. The capitol building is a beautiful building! We did have to go through a metal detector to get in, but tours were self guided and allowed you access to most of the capitol building. On the day we visited, we even met the State Treasurer. He was super nice and even gave us tips on the best way to tour the capitol. Great history, educational, free and well-worth the visit.

You have to visit this place in Montgomery, Alabama and you could take beautiful pictures inside and outside. The Capitol has the governor's office and otherwise functions as a museum. Parking available at the Street.

Very nice building. It has a beautiful Rotonda. It's not used by state legislation or state congress only the Governor and his cabinet - and some financial institutions - since 1985, it seems. Beautiful spring day, lots of flowers in bloom. There are 3 pokemon gyms and many stops there.

We were here on a field trip. Part of the tour was given by the Alabama State auditor Andrew who seems to have a real passion for the history of the state capitol. Tours are definitely more enjoyable when your guide enjoys and engages with the group. Be prepared though there are A LOT of stairs!! 🥴

Beautiful Capitol, definitely a must visit to learn history of Alabama It's free and open to the public. Great place to walk and admire and LEARN! Security guy at entrance provided a map to guide yourself inside the building.

It was another wonderful day to visit our state house. Many advocates were present. State representatives were welcoming and eager to listen to us. Representative Kenneth Paschal never ceases to amaze us. He had a meeting to get to in less than five minutes and yet, he spent the time thanking us for our visit.

We took our 7th grade Civics students on a field trip tour of the state capitol. Our tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We loved getting the added bonus of seeing it all decorated for Christmas.

Beautiful State Capitol as it’s great to walk around and learn about the history of Alabama! It’s located in the middle of the city! Highly recommend checking it out while visiting Montgomery!

We did not get to go inside, but from the outside the architecture, grounds and statues are truly grand. This is a very impressive building and the grounds are impeccably kept. We will definitely return to Montgomery to see the inside and so many other things we did not have time to see on this trip.

It was fine. The home is in a lovely historic district. Lots of photos, news clippings, placards. Very quiet. Not a very extensive gift shop. Fine for a self guided tour of the first floor.

I had no idea there was a museum dedicated to Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald in Montgomery until my husband and I spent a day in the city. We were looking for things to do. This museum is in the house that the Fitzgeralds lived in for about 6 months. It is very interesting. The tour made me want to learn more about Zelda.

Was very disappointed, $10 to tour the bottom of the house, it took all of 5 mins to walk through. :-( They only lived in the house for 6months, so it wasn't like they lived there many years. Not sure what the "Historical" significant is that everyone wants you to see it??

The museum runs off donations and has some really unique items. If you know anything about Scott and Zelda, it's worth visiting.

It is a remarkable privilege staying in this home, which is also a museum by day: a quiet and beautiful place surrounded by a pleasant garden.

Their Spring Gala was wonderful! It's a great location to have such an event. I played in the band and enjoyed seeing everyone on their 20s-30s outfits!!!

It was OK....a few artifacts here and there. I don't know if I would consider this a "must see", but I wouldn't consider it a waste of time either.

If you like F. Scott and/or Zelda, the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum is likely your kind of place. The Museum is located on the ground floor of the home the Fitzgeralds shared in Montgomery. The museum is loaded with artifacts, letters, clothing and personal effects. Some of Zelda’s artwork is on display as well as clothing. It’s a small but interesting space with loads of information.

Such a great place to visit, a very good way to learn about Fitzgerald.

Love this place for the history of art and literature. Whenever I'm in Montgomery, I come here even if it's not open because it's wonderful to drive around the neighborhood to look at the old homes and beautiful landscaping. There are also quite a few very nice restaurants and cafés in the area.

Step back in time and sojourn to an amazing tribute to F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. Not only does the downstairs museum contain a myriad of their artifacts and literary works, you can stay upstairs in one of the apartments that Scott and Zelda lived in in 1931 and 1932! If classic literature and/or the Roaring Twenties are near and dear to your heart, make time to visit this special, historic place.

Kind of quirky - honestly kind of rundown - needs some attention. I enjoyed the visit and glad we went. The museum is now offering Airbnb lodging on the second floor. We did not have a chance to see the rooms. Overall, I say this place is a “must see” for hardcore fans. For the regular Joe like me it was still cool but could use some work.

Wonderful museum and lovely staff. Incredibly interesting history and galleries in the home. Well worth a visit. The Airbnb's they have upstairs we're also very welcoming and definetly worth booking if you're looking for somewhere to stay. All in all a great experience whether you have any interest in the Fitzgeralds or not.

Gorgeous 1910 home in a stunning, historic Montgomery neighborhood. The displays and artifacts are personal, delightful, and insightful. Zelda Sayre was a tragically untapped mind and a fascinating figure. I highly recommend a visit and i can't wait till they begin listing the upstairs apartment on airbnb. I'll certainly be back! Update October 2017: I just visited the memorial to Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald at the location of the former Highland Sanitarium (75 Zillicoa St. Asheville, NC) where she perished in a tragic fire the night before she was to return to her mother's home in Montgomery. I found the gorgeous Montford neighborhood and memorial to be an excellent extension to the Montgomery house and museum. You may consider it in your travels! (See photos attached)

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Fitzgerald Museum and House. Miss Powell (The Museum and House's Executive Director) greeted every guest and chatted with them about the house and Fitzgeralds as well, despite being busy with preparations for Zelda Fitzgerald Day (25 July 2017). For its age the house is in rather good condition, any repairs have kept in line with the time period of the house. The museum holds many family photos, letters, news clippings and personal works of art by Zelda along with telling the story of Scott and Zelda. It was a very well laid out and informative look into the Fitzgerald's personal lives. The museum runs on donations, they do accept debit and credit cards as ways to give donations. If you find yourself in Montgomery with time to spare, the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum and House is well worth the time. Admission is free but the museum runs on donations. They accept debit and credit cards along with cash.

A true treasure for Hank fans, country music fans, and music fans across the board. Rare personal effects and memorabilia. The "last ride" Cadillac on display gave me chills. Stunning to see such an important component of the Hank story in such restored, wonderful condition. Beth, the owner, is fantastic. Very personable and knowledgeable. May this wonderful space always be preserved and maintained. A fine tribute to a legend of legends.

I have wanted to stop here for many years and am so glad I finally got the opportunity to.. Hank was such a snazzy dresser! I loved viewing all the memorabilia.

The best place on earth for all things Hank Williams. While the center piece of this museum is the 1952 Cadillac that Hank died in, this place of history has many of his belongings including clothes, records, papers, furniture and on and on. You will feel a lot closer to Hank after visiting the Hank Williams Museum. I did. George Vreeland Hill

My wife and I recently had the privilege of visiting the Hank Williams Museum at 118 Commerce St, Montgomery, AL 36104. As devotees of country music, this museum was a captivating tribute to one of the genre's most influential figures. The staff member at the counter was incredibly helpful, answering our questions both before and after our journey through the museum. It was fascinating to learn that his father-in-law was the one who established this tribute to Hank, as his self-proclaimed biggest fan, which added a wonderful layer of authenticity to our visit. Within the museum, we were transported through the life and times of Hank Williams, his pioneering influence on country music, and his tragically early departure from this world. The stories, artifacts, and the dedication of the staff made this 6000 sq ft space come alive. In conclusion, the Hank Williams Museum provided a unique, immersive experience that we wholeheartedly recommend to any music lover. It was not just an educational journey, but also an emotional one, leaving us with a deeper appreciation of Hank's life and his significant contributions to music. We eagerly look forward to our next visit!

Good walk through time. Awesome pieces of history tied to who I consider the Father of country music. What a tribute to a man that did so much for country music and the music industry as a whole in such a short period of time.

If you are a country music fan and enjoy the history of country music, the Hank Williams Museum is a pretty neat place to visit. There are lots of items to learn about the short, but influential, impact Hank Williams had on country music. The self-paced tour will take about 60-70, depending on how many items your read about. Hank’s 1952 baby blue Cadillac is a highlight in the museum. The gift shop has plenty of items to commemorate your visit. The museum is within walking distance to restaurants and hotels. The museum does not allow photos or video inside the exhibit area.

It's definitely the largest Hank Williams collection I've ever seen. The museum honors his memory with album covers, songs, awards, photos, and an extensive private collection. They even have his horse saddle, which looked like it was totally uncomfortable to ride on. His Gibson guitar was there, and even a fiddle. The biggest highlight was seeing his 1952 Baby Blue Cadillac. It's in beautiful condition. There are suits, overcoats, and boots. The family dining room is reconstructed as well. I wish I could recall everything that I saw. There are no pictures allowed in the museum, but you can take pictures outside of the admission area. I chose to get a postcard of his "Last Ride" at the gift shop as a keepsake. I really liked listening to all of his music that was playing at the museum. His songs are super recognizable. He died before I was born, but I remember hearing his songs all the time on the radio. Especially song lines like "Hey good lookin', whatcha got cookin'?", which I know has been a jingle in many commercials. He's also had many hits such as "Your Cheatin' Heart", "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry", and "Cold, Cold Heart". There were many more songs that I heard at the museum that I remember hearing as a kid. It brought back memories. There's a room that plays his last performance on the "Kate Smith Evening Hour", which was cool to see. It still amazes me that he recorded 225 country songs in a 5 year span. Of those songs, he wrote 128 of them. This was all accomplished before the day he died in that back seat of his Cadillac at the age of 29. It's quite a biographical journey. I learned a lot. The man that was taking care of the museum that day was very helpful in answering any questions that we had. I think any fan of Hank Williams would appreciate this collection. It's worth a visit when in Montgomery.

While visiting from the northern border, this has been on my wife’s bucket list. The museum did have nice artifacts, but was over shadowed by a rude woman at the from desk. I over heard her ask to see the photo app in a customers phone, she said she would have to look through his phone and delete pictures he took. I think that’s absurd. It really doesn’t take too much effort to greet people and make a pleasant experience, but she strives for the opposite. If you go, I encourage you to be a little sneaky about getting photos. She’s not very hard to fool. They also later posted a reply that is full of lies. They have no idea how to treat people. Poor customer service is an understatement. I suggest going in, pay your money, take as many pictures as you can, do your thing and leave. Don’t talk to them, don’t listen to them. Go for Hank, not the people who work there.

I wasn't a fan of Hank William specifically but it was a great place to visit. I learned a lot and enjoyed listening to the music played through the speakers. They also had a place to watch his past performances in TV. The only drawback was not being able to take pictures inside.

The staff was very friendly. The setup of the museum was amazing to see. Hanks car was there and I must say I cried knowing that was the place he took his last breath..Such a loss to country music!!!! We brought about $50 in souvenirs... They have Hank and Audrey's furniture and wardrobes..A Must See!!! PlEASE respect the signs "no pictures"- we seen several people doing this and they were called out on it.The paintings have copy rights!! It is disrespectful and if they have to be removed because of people disrespecting the copy rights then everyone misses out!!!!! Pictures are allowed in gift area only... I love Hank ,Hank Jr., and Hank 3. I do believe Hank 3 looks and sounds so much like his grandfather, it's like stepping back in time! Thank You Hank Jr. for offering this amazing place to visit your precious Dad and mom and sharing your memories..We also visited the cemetery and paid our respects..While in Montgomery don't miss Chris Hotdogs and the old Union Station railway..only two blocks away!

This museum has a really good collection of Hank Williams artifacts along with a few other country music pioneers. The space is in need of an upgrade and expansion. It’s seems a bit cluttered, more like an old antique mall meets museum. What they need is money, space, and a strong curator to bring everything to life. There are pieces here worth seeing and visiting. The best is the powder blue late 1952 stretch Cadillac convertible.

The Peace and Justice Memorial Garden is a solemn, reverent place to remember lynching victims. Plaques tell the stories of some victims and others are listed by name. The Institute is working to update the site as they discover more details and names.

Incredible. Very powerful and moving. You could spend the whole day between the 3 locations. Review the site for more information, buy tickets ahead of time. No PETS allowed, no skateboards, no vapes or smoking, they will confiscate your items until you leave the exhibit to ensure that maximum respect is paid to the area.

Wow, what a powerful place this was! Although solemn and somber, it's very important to have something like this for all the lives lost due to racial terror lynching. It forced everyone visiting to acknowledge America's ugly history. I encourage everyone to visit this memorial it's quite the experience!

This monument installation commemorates victims of racial hatred in a dignified manner. It is well maintained with beautiful art sculptures and powerful evocative statements on the walls and water feature. I recommend seeing this along with a tour of the museum. The monument and museum are walking distance of each other, but there is also a shuttle w/ AC if you are worried about the AL heat . Some of the walk around the monument is not protected from the sun. In sunny AL , all sun protection measures are recommended, especially an umbrella.

The Legacy Museum is a very powerful experience. It focuses on telling the whole truthful story. It honors the lives of everyone by including the raw testimony and history of the massive injustice in our past and currently. It was encouraging to see so many people, adults and children, involved with learning the true history of America.

Very moving and heart felt place. Watching people search the names for their relatives and experiencing the shock of them finding many names. I found 2 myself and it was bitter sweet but would and will do it again.

The museum displays the torment and lynchings of African Americans in the United States of America. It also displays the sickening and disturbing reasons why many were lynched. A very sad but honest look at history of black and brown people in this country

This is a new wonder of a world 🌎 for all to enjoy and connect to the history of black culture and black Americans. From this place we can learn how to solve problems and rewrite policies that can govern our society. The historical record shows, how under supervisor of the police and their lack to protect their own prisoners, they allowed outsiders to trust pass and violate the laws to commit violent acts against citizens in their custody. Why not the police being held accountable. Is you encounter All these stories how black people were placed in trees as Christmas ornaments, these police stations allowed this to happen under their watch. These police stations owe these families for damages even if their loved ones were guilty. Once under police custody one is safe from outsiders. It’s left to the courts to decide whether one is guilty or innocent. Until this question is addressed, no solution will set the record straight. We need the police like we need air and water to live. But we need for everything to be clean in order to live a healthy life. History is hard however we need to know the story so that it doesn’t happen again. This is a must see place. This makes America 🇺🇸 the greatest place to live. No one Ever mentions that. How the police turned to blindfolded themselves

What an amazing space!! It’s a memorial for any and all slaves that were not recognized, remembered or forgotten. I don’t have the words to describe the experience. It’s definitely a place that must be visited. Truly and unforgettable experience

Best museum I have ever visited. I have been to the museum four times and it is always impactful. If you want to learn real history that is not taught or spoken about often, you must come here. Prepare your mind and heart for a lot of pain as the information is compelling and somber.

The second floor of the Archives is one of the most educational spaces in Montgomery for kids. The hands-on displays include space for dress up and play, and a collection of movies to watch. Even the bathrooms have a great view of the Capitol.

We did not know what to expect when we decided to go here but ended up being extremely impressed. 3 stories with the bulk of the exhibits on the second floor, to include a hands on children's room, geology room, historical war room with a lot of weapons and uniforms. Then Several areas in order tracing the history of Alabama from a few hundred years ago to present day. Exhibits in these areas were outstanding. Plan on being here for a few hours.

This museum is very well laid out and covers many different aspects of Alabama history. I could have stayed even longer than I did to take in everything. Great kids section as well.

The outside and inside of the building are spectacular. I didn't see much of the inside because my kids went straight for the interactive area. There were great exhibits for all my kids (ages 1 to 14). We didn't stay as long as we would have liked because we were limited to two hours on the parking meter.

One of the best museum around. The history of Alabama thru a series of displays. This museum is well thought out and the presentations are well placed and described. Voices from the past as well as hands on displays. One of the best. Due to federal and state laws native American artifacts have rightly been repatriated to home tribes. No admission needed just sign the register at the front door. Self guided tour. My advice GO....take all day and enjoy Alabama

Had good displays, but the lighting was very dark. To the point that the exhibits were hard to see in detail. But still a detailed account of Alabama history. Most of the American Indian artifacts were not on display due to being considered for repatriation.

Our family adores this place. Not only is there museum fantastic and full of good information, but the hand on are for children is the main reason we go back over and over. It's always full of crafts and fun learning areas. Every month is something different. Even they're staff is awesome. The reception person always remembers us even if it's been a long time since our last visit!

What makes this place so great? First it's free! Second, it takes you through a chronological timeline of Alabama's history in a logical and easy to understand format, it just makes sense. Great exhibits and information. This place is worth the visit. They also have a free parking lot.

Great place to learn about the history of Alabama state as well as the history of world war first and second. There are a lot of cultural relics displayed so that one can have a better understanding about what’s going on back then. Nice staff and one of the few places that actually open on weekends!

This is a smaller museum but the memorial outside is powerful.

At this time memorial is closed and water fountain is being renovated. Closed to public. Times past students on my tour would love to place their hands on the names inscribed and remember the people the fountain honors.

Disturbing and a must-see piece of American history. The civil rights march continues and is far from complete. Well worth a visit along with many other Selma and Montgomery sites and museums.

This is a memorial for all the documented lynchings. And the ones that were not documented. Very beautiful. And knowledgeable as well because everything is in alphabetical order so you can find whatever county in the south and see how they got down in the past. Sad how they did my people and we still have a ways to go

That place has a solemn atmosphere, as it holds the stories of sadness, struggle, and resilience. A strong hope lingers there, like a distant beacon. We strongly recommend you to visit this place. You will come out with a different perspective and feeling.

While in Montgomery for work, I visited the Civil Rights Memorial the weekend before Election Day, in the heart of the Confederacy, where some monuments still stand. The 'Traveling While Black" exhibit is a virtual reality experience, allowing you to sit in on conversations at Ben's Chili Bowl (a safe haven for Blacks), as we weren't welcomed in restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc. on our journeys. It'll be open until January. Stirring, haunting presentations of this country's racial struggles were admittedly hard to watch, but this visit was needed. Though hurtful, it's necessary to see where we've come from to forge the path toward equality and justice for ALL. The division I see daily makes me sad for humanity, but I know there is hope. Change starts with ALL OF US. Let's purposely show that we matter to each other!

I really enjoyed myself and really appreciated it. My uncle in law Lamar Smith killed in Brookhaven in 1955 sadly was listed in the museum as a activist

Excellent museum/memorial. Very moving displays and movie. $5 entry fee, very quiet and no wait when we went on a weekday morning during Thanksgiving week.

There are no words to describe this memorial. It’s a museum for everyone to see to understand the journey of African Americans in this country. Just like visiting the Holocaust museum my breath was taken away. This museum is huge, so I didn’t see everything but will definitely be going back.

Had a great experience here watching a Christmas classic. If you've never been, do yourself a favor and go at least once because there's nothing else like it in Alabama. The production was top notch. And even my hyper 8yo soon stayed glued to the action.

Show was great. There's not a bad seat in the theater! Cast was diverse and very talented. There wasn't a lead which allowed all the ladies to showcase their talents.

We saw Cabaret and loved it! The theatre is beautiful! The building and grounds are lovely. It would be a great place to spend an afternoon even without seeing a play.

A large park complex with theatre and a free fine art facility. We saw Cabaret and it was very good. Not a bad seat in the house. The art museum has an outdoor exhibit sculpture garden which was great.

Love it here! Very grateful for their health and safety protocols, especially requiring negative tests or vaccines. Great policy! Love the variety of stories they tell. Always a wonderful experience. Beautiful location to walk around or picnic in before the performance.

After several years away from the theater, I took my daughter to see the Tempest last weekend. There had been some remodeling done since my last visit and the place looked beautiful. All the actors in the performance were wonderful, especially our beloved Greta Lambert! It was a wonderful experience!

My grandchildren and I went on a Saturday to enjoy in the festivities they had going on and to explore the Museum it was a great experience for the girls and the staff was very accommodating and kind!!!

This performing arts center in Montgomery is something Alabama can be proud of. Located in the beautiful Blount Cultural Park it is easily accessible. I have been attending shows here over 20 years and have never been disappointed with any of them. In addition, the theatre staff is professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I highly recommend checking their performance schedule and planning a trip to experience great theatre as soon as you can.

We've had season tickets the past few years and it has been the best investment of date nights ever! There are different stages/rooms and every seat has a great view. The box office is amazing if you need to reschedule for any reason. Alcoholic beverages & snacks are served and you may take them into the play. You feel incredibly connected with the cast members & I have never left disappointed. From plays that range from Shakespeare (midsummer night's dream, taming of the shrew, Macbeth) to a wide range of entertainment (Little shop of Horrors, Cinderella, a Christmas carol) and even the powerful and inspiring story of The Freedom Riders. We are so fortunate to live close to this amazing talent and will continue to support this beautiful theater.

There is absolutely no oversight in the way the employees who answer the phones, to sell tickets, treat patrons. I called to change my tickets because of the Tornados and flooding in Northern Alabama last night and today, which caused me to have to cancel for safety reasons. The responses to either change my tickets for an alternate show which they could not do because it was a different show. I spoke to 4 people and the last was Christine. She did not hang up on me but the other 3 did. This is unacceptable behavior for anyone. I will never, ever go to see a show there again. It used to be a lovely, pleasant experience but not now! I would give it a -2 if I could.

came here for a field trip and it was very fun! theater area was very clean and the actors were awesome! bathrooms were clean and the snack bar was great for intermission. plan to come back this summer!

What an intimate theater experience! The use of the stage was well done.

Cramped seating. I am a large man and knees touched the seats in front of me. I am only 6 ft. tall. Also the seat cushion was lacking in comfort. Compressed the cushion entirely. My location in the theatre was what I could afford which was on the steep side. I wear hearing aids and I missed a lot that was said on stage. I don't think the actors were wearing microphones. Just a unhappy experience for me.

Bought season tickets and have seen two performances so far. The staff is amazing. The decorations for the holiday were beautiful. Really enjoyed Its a Wonderful, the actors were fantastic and funny and did a great job. Jubilee really wowed us as well, the singers were exceptional. Looking forward the the rest of the season.

I like the river view here but hate the tunnel to get to it. Its so spooky to me. Homeless people like to sleep on the benches so it made me afraid to enter. Picnic area near the river is beautiful. Wish there was a better way to get to it.

I was recently there for a Jazz concert featuring Chrisette Michele. She didn't disappoint. The crowd wasn't rowdy. No bad vibes. Everyone had a good time. Food trucks were available. The sound equipment was on point. Very very nice. Kids splash bad wasn't available for use.

Such a beautiful park. A quick walk close to the Hotel. I loved how they had the boat decorated for Halloween 🎃. They have historical time-lines and information on the history of Montgomery.

I recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at Riverfront Park in Montgomery, Alabama, and it was an incredible experience! The park offers stunning views of the Alabama River, making it a serene backdrop for picnics and casual strolls. Special mention for the Amphitheater - it provides great acoustics for the regular concerts and events that take place. The park is well-lit, which makes it inviting even in the evenings, and adds to the overall sense of safety. The bar at the top was straight fire and the barstaff are beyond friendly, and the vibe is overwhelmingly positive. Chicken nachos hit hard and the musical performance of the Duo was off the hinges!

Really cool experience walking by the river and throughout downtown. A bunch of history here in Montgomery, recommend the visit. Biscuits baseball stadium is a must see, very cool stadium.

The park offers scenic river views, well-maintained trails, and a peaceful ambiance. While it might lack some of the extravagant amenities of larger parks, its simplicity is part of its charm. It's an ideal spot for a quiet stroll or a relaxing afternoon picnic. The park's beauty lies in its natural surroundings, making it a genuine and unpretentious retreat for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful respite from urban life.

The River front is one of my favorite places. The water is peaceful and it is quite scenic. The City hosts many events almost weekly. I enjoy just visiting, making pictures by the water front and sometime eating snacks.

Neat place to check out when coming though Montgomery. Only thing I wish is wa that the riverboat would of been there. Other than that definitely worth a check out and if you're into watching the sunset then it's a pretty cool place to watch it go down on the river.

I took my family with young children here and it was really boring. We had to walk through a tunnel to get to the river walk that was long and dark and smelled like urine. There were lots of homeless people at the end and I didn’t feel safe. At the actual river walk there really wasn’t anything to do. It would be nice if they had a Ferris wheel or park or something to entertain people.

You have to go this place for a walk. This trails is around 2miles. You must finish this trails. You will see a lots of beautiful view from different part of this trails. If you don’t like to do a long walk you just go in this park and relax. Enjoy the view of the river and spend a quality time over there. There is a lots of things to see. This is a free entrance park. You can take a lots of beautiful photo in here. Or just take some food and drinks and enjoy. A highlight of our new Montgomery residence. Frequent entertainment/events, nearly every Saturday and Sunday of excellent quality and free entrance fee. Space is open air, area is clean; and feels very comfortable and safe. Also food trucks often; and, many excellent resultants nearby. Low cost $2 a $5 dollar parking. Also so many other attractions nearby.

Today I saw fireworks in park and a lot of people came for dance and walk in holiday. Most of the people were happy and police control all people in the entrance park . It was amazing and thank you from police Montgomery for help and made good time for all family! I know it is not easy !

I truly enjoyed the visit. My bed was super comfy and cozy plus Ms. Yvonne brought everything extra that I requested to my stateroom with a beautiful smile and strongly suggested that if I needed anything else just give guest services a call and she will gladly bring it right away. I couldn't ask for anything else better than this except for more free stay days!!!!

The casino was awesome. The front desk staff friendly and engaging. The room service timely and delicious. The rooms clean and well appointed. But forget sleeping....if you are lucky enough to fall asleep you can be guaranteed to be woken up in the early hours of the morning. The guests think the halls are for partying and fighting. And yes, we called management. We hoped it would be different than the last time...we were wrong.

Room was very clean and stocked. Great water pressure. Front desk clerk was so helpful and assisted me with all of my needs and questions. I didn't know about using valet to park so I ended up parking myself and walking across the parking lot with all of my bags, and it was Hot. Overall the stay was fantastic. Thank you.

I ❤️❤️❤️ staying at the Montgomery location… We always get the same Housekeeping Rep, Yvonne. She is so sweet, so professional and so so attentive. She’s a keeper!! The check in agents are ALWAYS happy and greet you with a smile and make eye contacts, while dealing with you. Honestly, I can say all of the staff at this location have been professional and friendly. My favorite getaway…

We enjoy going to Wind Creek and playing the machines. Sometimes the trip is very good and sometimes not so good, win or loose we have fun. They have very good restaurants and a food court to eat at when you are hungry. They all so have a really nice little gift shop. I would recommend anyone traveling through Montgomery or anyone just looking to have a good time and maybe win some cash to stop by and play.

My experience staying there was great. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the room was awesome!!! I got to play at the casino and get some good rest. While on the machines, I ordered drinks and that servers there were prompt and polite. Overall, I had a great time. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Me and my husband went down as a getaway for the day. The people there are super nice and polite and very courteous. It was a great day to get away. We will definitely be back soon.

First, do yourself a favor and go to Wind Creek Casino in Montgomery Alabama❤️. This casino is very beautiful, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the atmosphere is definitely more laid back. The food is so delicious and the staff is very professional and attentive. This casino has much more to offer. Don’t take my word for it, just see for yourself. We met several nice people there during our visit and will definitely be planning our next trip to return to this casino only. **** We had an awesome time!

First initial phone call to book reservation. Staff was so pleasant and friendly. Upon arrival from valet parking to front desk everyone was wonderful. Hallways and rooms were very clean. Room service was amazing. Saturday night blues at BB king was a great experience. I would definitely be back and will recommend others to visit.

I do not recommend. I have visited this place on multiple occasions with co-workers and each time has been awful. I won't be back. The machines are programmed TIGHT and playing at $4.00 & $5.00 with rarely any free spins and 10 free spins pay only $7.50, these machines need to be audited. $900 spent, with no return, on the same Big and Bad machines. NOTHING. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The attendants walk around LOOKING, won't add paper in machine, especially the rude guy in the TIGHT Black suit and 90's high top. The machines malfunction during free spins especially when they play the jackpot song, they skip. I don't recommend any Active-Duty Service Members of any branch of the Armed Forces or Veterans play at this establishment. These are Electronic Bingo Gaming Machines not normal Casino Machines. Horrible Experience.

Theirs ladle who works at room service her name is Debra. She's always the best person for service for everything we have ask for. She's very friendly and great smile. No matter what is going on she's still have big smile on her face.

Is always a good time. The hotel rooms are gorgeous, live music in the restaurant. Not much of a high roller room. Could definitely do better with that. All in all, it's a great place and I go try my luck often

Had a great time! I went with a friend just to get out of town for a little while. It's not a huge Casino, but it has a nice set up. It was very packed when we went, so finding a slot machine to play, we had to do quite a bit of walking. We didn't mind the walk, as we weren't in a hurry. We decided to go to the smoking room since we both smoke, and sat down at a slot machine. We took turns on the same one and it was up and down a little bit...anyway we wound up winning $538.00!!! Needless to say, we hit the cash out button and came back home! If your ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping. You never know what might happen!

My wife and I stayed at this casino. She was furious with me, though, because they do not have reliable Internet. She wanted me to have a good time, so she agreed to come down, but she needed to get some important work done. She couldn’t. As a result, we had to leave early, and now I’m dealing with an upset wife. This is a billion dollar industry. In the post-COVID world, there should be reliable Internet. Now…what is worst, she has to spend her entire weekend working on the work she had planned to do during our stay. Wind Creek needs to handle this and provide stable internet access to all paying guests. This is just not acceptable.

Everything was great with my stay and I definitely have to say that the BB King restaurant has the best food with the best presentation in appearance. The short lady with the long dreadlocks that work the morning breakfast shift is the best waitress everytime. Love this place.

I recently visited this casino with my mother, not so much to gamble, but to keep her company. The cleanliness of the establishment was notably impressive, creating a relaxed environment. The staff were genuinely friendly, adding a personal touch to our visit. Parking was straightforward and hassle-free. The non-smoking aspect was a welcome feature, making it more comfortable. Overall, it's a great place for an outing.

I do not recommend the barbershop connected to the hair salon located in Wind Creek Montgomery Casino. I received a cut and color. It was a simple, long layered cut with an all-over one color. No bells, no whistles. Even though I had an appointment, I waited an additional 25 minutes to be seen because she had other appointments that had failed to be written down on the schedule for that morning. So, my 10:00 o'clock appointment lasted until nearly 1:30 pm. Cost? $300.00!!! Are You Kidding Me? My hair looks better than average. However, it was nowhere near a $300.00 experience. Please save your money and go somewhere else.

If you're thinking about working here, just a heads up - they might give the job to someone else without even giving you a heads up. They'll have you drive all the way to Wind Creek, only to find out they hired someone else for the position you were supposed to interview for. It's important to have a backup plan. I won't name names, but someone knows who they are. And then they'll tell you, people get hired at Wind Creek but don't stick around for long. So, just keep that in mind if you're considering working there.

We stayed at Hampton inn and the room was very nice and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the lady that was working at the front desk was Super Nice and made a few helpful suggestions, She had such a beautiful smile and really made sure that we had everything that we needed, that Saturday morning when we went down for breakfast and got the shock of our life, greeted with another beautiful smile was the young lady working to make sure that everyone had a big breakfast, As we approached her, She made sure that we knew that there was Red Velvet Waffles, and they were delicious, they also had Bacon, Grits, Eggs, Cereal, Muffins and topped it off with Chocolate Marbled Cake and it was all so good, She made sure that we felt welcomed and ate as much as we desired. She welcomed everyone that came through the door, I have been to a lot of Hotels in my lifetime and I have to admit this has been the best one yet, and we expected only to see Bagels, Coffee and Juice, they did an excellent job. I will be back again. Thanks Hampton Inn for a job well done.

While at Wind Creek Hotel Montgomery on Friday April 20-22 2024. My family and I were so disappointed ☹️ with our stay because first and foremost we could not get in the pool and if we had known that prior to checking in we would have stayed somewhere else. There were stains on the carpet, the refrigerator didn’t work properly it wasn’t cooling, there was trash left in the trash cans, the head boards were very dusty, the toilet paper holder was broken and fell on my foot which was not a good feeling. The shower when turned sounded like a bulldozer was coming through the bathroom. I have stayed at this Diamond Hotel plenty of times and was never disappointed but this time it was awful.

Recently stayed at Wind Creek Montgomery, and the stay was fantastic. Could t have been greeted more warmly, and the staff — every representative with whom I came into contact — just exceptional. It was a treat to venture into the casino! But by far, the stay in the resort’s hotel was fabulous. I left early the next day and got to see the beautiful golf course as the sun was rising. Beautiful course. Go play! Go stay!

We attended the Jeep event Easter weekend. The staff at Wind Creek were amazing and an example of excellent hospitality. Thank you for going above and beyond expectations. We will be back. A+

The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional. They were able to provide us with early check in on two of our rooms. The remaining rooms were available on time with no wait.

I always enjoy myself when I stay at Wind Creek casinos. I love all the locations but I mostly spend time in Montgomery because I have a long drive from Atlanta,GA. The food and entertainment is great! The rooms are comfy and relaxing, but most of all the staff is excellent and professional. Jonathan, Tyler, Kay, Ebony, Bill, JoAnn, Leonard, Sandy and especially Ms. Lela you guys rock! You make my Wind Creek experience a very pleasant one. They all are exceptional and makes the Montgomery location #1. I can't wait to plan my next trip. See you guys soon!

Had a fun experience here. I should've stopped playing while I was ahead lol. Great service, lively atmosphere and nostalgic blues music scene. Staff was friendly and we had a blast. Looking forward to my next trip.

We had a great tour today. We elected for the guided tour and Ms. Margaret did a stand up job informing and entertaining us. We learned lots and I would highly recommend this stop on any tour of downtown Montgomery.

Character actors explain what life was like in the mid to late 1800's. Prepare to walk several city blocks, as the buildings are spread out. Best to do this tour in Spring or Fall.

This is a fun collection of historical houses and shops. The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Our family loved visiting!

Old Alabama Town has preserved many buildings of historical significance. It is a great place to visit to help understand Alabama's history, culture, and society. It can be toured in 2-3 hours, so if you only have an afternoon this is a good choice.

We loved the tour of the big main house parking is street parking but at least it is free & my only issues is that we had someone appoarch us as we were going into the main house with his privates uncovered that made my sister jumpy the rest of our tour no fault to them clearly. This attraction is very well done I wish some of the houses that had business in them were open for tour & done up in the time frame not all of them but one or two. But overall well done they do have bathrooms and maps for you to know what's open. If you have the time def try to stop in when they give a tour of the main house that's worth it too.

Place was great. Very interactive and it's so well maintained. The idea of walking around into these places/ buildings is so much better than seeing pictures on a wall. The playground is also great and big enough to let the kids run around awhile. One of the best kids playground I've ever seen!

Beautiful place! The staff were wonderful, especially Ms. Margaret, who took us on the tour of the Ordeman House. She was so knowledgeable about the mansion, a wealth of information and she made it interesting for the kids. It was amazing to see such well preserved buildings and artifacts.

They have great tour guides and actors in each building that share the in-depth of Alabama in different ways to each age group! It's definitely worth visiting if you're looking for something to do in Montgomery! You can make your walking tour as long or short as you'd like!

This is such a greatly preserved place! Start at Lucas Tavern which is at 310 N Hull St - here you purchase tickets. Two blocks of historical buildings full of artifacts and information! They have a school, a church, old newspaper presses and even a completely preserved cotton gin!!! We have traveled most of the South and this is the only one we have seen. It is so cool!!!

Very interesting, nice relocated historical homes in the edge on downtown Montgomery. We attended Tavernfest here, what a night! Wet Willie jammed with front man Jimmy Hall, ace guitar players Will McFarlane & old band mate Ricky Hirsch. Also sis & bro Jack, bass & Donna Hall vocals.

Carol is dangerous she was out tour guide and she put our tour group in danger by walking them across the street without watching telling the kids to run off away from parents and several things. Don't use the tour service if Carol is gonna be your guide she will get u killed

A very cool walk in the past. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and it was neat to see how things used to be.
