The Wind Creek Montgomery casino in Alabama offers a variety of games, casual dining venues, and a modern architectural design. There are over 2,100 gaming machines and an on site grill. The hotel rooms are gorgeous and the live music in the restaurant is also a great perk. While the casino could do better with its high roller room, it is still a great place to visit for luck.
Went to celebrate my sister's birthday. Casino was energized and lively. The atmosphere was fantastic. Had a good time. Played the slots which was paying out on and off. Fun experience. Check it out.

I truly enjoyed the visit. My bed was super comfy and cozy plus Ms. Yvonne brought everything extra that I requested to my stateroom with a beautiful smile and strongly suggested that if I needed anything else just give guest services a call and she will gladly bring it right away. I couldn't ask for anything else better than this except for more free stay days!!!!

The casino was awesome. The front desk staff friendly and engaging. The room service timely and delicious. The rooms clean and well appointed. But forget sleeping....if you are lucky enough to fall asleep you can be guaranteed to be woken up in the early hours of the morning. The guests think the halls are for partying and fighting. And yes, we called management. We hoped it would be different than the last time...we were wrong.

Room was very clean and stocked. Great water pressure. Front desk clerk was so helpful and assisted me with all of my needs and questions. I didn't know about using valet to park so I ended up parking myself and walking across the parking lot with all of my bags, and it was Hot. Overall the stay was fantastic. Thank you.

I ❤️❤️❤️ staying at the Montgomery location… We always get the same Housekeeping Rep, Yvonne. She is so sweet, so professional and so so attentive. She’s a keeper!!
The check in agents are ALWAYS happy and greet you with a smile and make eye contacts, while dealing with you.
Honestly, I can say all of the staff at this location have been professional and friendly.

We enjoy going to Wind Creek and playing the machines. Sometimes the trip is very good and sometimes not so good, win or loose we have fun. They have very good restaurants and a food court to eat at when you are hungry. They all so have a really nice little gift shop. I would recommend anyone traveling through Montgomery or anyone just looking to have a good time and maybe win some cash to stop by and play.

My experience staying there was great. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the room was awesome!!! I got to play at the casino and get some good rest. While on the machines, I ordered drinks and that servers there were prompt and polite. Overall, I had a great time. Can't wait to go back!!!!

First, do yourself a favor and go to Wind Creek Casino in Montgomery Alabama❤️. This casino is very beautiful, the bathrooms are immaculate, and the atmosphere is definitely more laid back. The food is so delicious and the staff is very professional and attentive. This casino has much more to offer. Don’t take my word for it, just see for yourself. We met several nice people there during our visit and will definitely be planning our next trip to return to this casino only. **** We had an awesome time!

First initial phone call to book reservation. Staff was so pleasant and friendly. Upon arrival from valet parking to front desk everyone was wonderful. Hallways and rooms were very clean. Room service was amazing. Saturday night blues at BB king was a great experience. I would definitely be back and will recommend others to visit.

I do not recommend. I have visited this place on multiple occasions with co-workers and each time has been awful. I won't be back. The machines are programmed TIGHT and playing at $4.00 & $5.00 with rarely any free spins and 10 free spins pay only $7.50, these machines need to be audited. $900 spent, with no return, on the same Big and Bad machines. NOTHING. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. The attendants walk around LOOKING, won't add paper in machine, especially the rude guy in the TIGHT Black suit and 90's high top. The machines malfunction during free spins especially when they play the jackpot song, they skip. I don't recommend any Active-Duty Service Members of any branch of the Armed Forces or Veterans play at this establishment. These are Electronic Bingo Gaming Machines not normal Casino Machines. Horrible Experience.

Is always a good time. The hotel rooms are gorgeous, live music in the restaurant. Not much of a high roller room. Could definitely do better with that. All in all, it's a great place and I go try my luck often

Had a great time! I went with a friend just to get out of town for a little while. It's not a huge Casino, but it has a nice set up. It was very packed when we went, so finding a slot machine to play, we had to do quite a bit of walking. We didn't mind the walk, as we weren't in a hurry. We decided to go to the smoking room since we both smoke, and sat down at a slot machine. We took turns on the same one and it was up and down a little bit...anyway we wound up winning $538.00!!! Needless to say, we hit the cash out button and came back home! If your ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping. You never know what might happen!

My wife and I stayed at this casino. She was furious with me, though, because they do not have reliable Internet. She wanted me to have a good time, so she agreed to come down, but she needed to get some important work done. She couldn’t. As a result, we had to leave early, and now I’m dealing with an upset wife. This is a billion dollar industry. In the post-COVID world, there should be reliable Internet. Now…what is worst, she has to spend her entire weekend working on the work she had planned to do during our stay. Wind Creek needs to handle this and provide stable internet access to all paying guests. This is just not acceptable.

Everything was great with my stay and I definitely have to say that the BB King restaurant has the best food with the best presentation in appearance. The short lady with the long dreadlocks that work the morning breakfast shift is the best waitress everytime. Love this place.

I recently visited this casino with my mother, not so much to gamble, but to keep her company. The cleanliness of the establishment was notably impressive, creating a relaxed environment. The staff were genuinely friendly, adding a personal touch to our visit. Parking was straightforward and hassle-free. The non-smoking aspect was a welcome feature, making it more comfortable. Overall, it's a great place for an outing.

I do not recommend the barbershop connected to the hair salon located in Wind Creek Montgomery Casino. I received a cut and color. It was a simple, long layered cut with an all-over one color. No bells, no whistles. Even though I had an appointment, I waited an additional 25 minutes to be seen because she had other appointments that had failed to be written down on the schedule for that morning. So, my 10:00 o'clock appointment lasted until nearly 1:30 pm. Cost? $300.00!!! Are You Kidding Me? My hair looks better than average. However, it was nowhere near a $300.00 experience. Please save your money and go somewhere else.

If you're thinking about working here, just a heads up - they might give the job to someone else without even giving you a heads up. They'll have you drive all the way to Wind Creek, only to find out they hired someone else for the position you were supposed to interview for. It's important to have a backup plan. I won't name names, but someone knows who they are. And then they'll tell you, people get hired at Wind Creek but don't stick around for long. So, just keep that in mind if you're considering working there.

We stayed at Hampton inn and the room was very nice and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the lady that was working at the front desk was Super Nice and made a few helpful suggestions, She had such a beautiful smile and really made sure that we had everything that we needed, that Saturday morning when we went down for breakfast and got the shock of our life, greeted with another beautiful smile was the young lady working to make sure that everyone had a big breakfast, As we approached her, She made sure that we knew that there was Red Velvet Waffles, and they were delicious, they also had Bacon, Grits, Eggs, Cereal, Muffins and topped it off with Chocolate Marbled Cake and it was all so good, She made sure that we felt welcomed and ate as much as we desired. She welcomed everyone that came through the door, I have been to a lot of Hotels in my lifetime and I have to admit this has been the best one yet, and we expected only to see Bagels, Coffee and Juice, they did an excellent job. I will be back again. Thanks Hampton Inn for a job well done.

While at Wind Creek Hotel Montgomery on Friday April 20-22 2024. My family and I were so disappointed ☹️ with our stay because first and foremost we could not get in the pool and if we had known that prior to checking in we would have stayed somewhere else. There were stains on the carpet, the refrigerator didn’t work properly it wasn’t cooling, there was trash left in the trash cans, the head boards were very dusty, the toilet paper holder was broken and fell on my foot which was not a good feeling. The shower when turned sounded like a bulldozer was coming through the bathroom. I have stayed at this Diamond Hotel plenty of times and was never disappointed but this time it was awful.

Recently stayed at Wind Creek Montgomery, and the stay was fantastic. Could t have been greeted more warmly, and the staff — every representative with whom I came into contact — just exceptional. It was a treat to venture into the casino! But by far, the stay in the resort’s hotel was fabulous.
I left early the next day and got to see the beautiful golf course as the sun was rising. Beautiful course.
Go play! Go stay!

I always enjoy myself when I stay at Wind Creek casinos. I love all the locations but I mostly spend time in Montgomery because I have a long drive from Atlanta,GA. The food and entertainment is great! The rooms are comfy and relaxing, but most of all the staff is excellent and professional. Jonathan, Tyler, Kay, Ebony, Bill, JoAnn, Leonard, Sandy and especially Ms. Lela you guys rock! You make my Wind Creek experience a very pleasant one. They all are exceptional and makes the Montgomery location #1. I can't wait to plan my next trip. See you guys soon!

Had a fun experience here. I should've stopped playing while I was ahead lol. Great service, lively atmosphere and nostalgic blues music scene. Staff was friendly and we had a blast. Looking forward to my next trip.
This is such an amazing place!! The first hangar and the offices feels like a time capsule. Everything is so well preserved too and for the buildings that no longer stand there are metal poles describing where they were I also really enjoyed the documentaries in the second airplane hangar. Their Junior ranger program is also really great and they still give the patches to plus wings. I definitely recommend adding this to your travel list 🤠
Jack Cairborne — Google review
One of the best preserved historical military sites here in the United States. When you visit the airfield and its buildings, it feels like you’re stepping back in time. I visited on a Saturday and there was only two other families there. Every room I walked into I was the only one in there so I was able to really immerse myself in the settings, sounds, and smells. You can not only go into all the different offices in the hangars, but you can also climb the old control tower. Be careful from spring until fall as there are wasps which were being dealt with at the time. The staff are helpful and friendly. It’s free to visit but I would recommend leaving a donation. The site also has a nice little gift shop.

The National Park Service did an absolutely wonderful job of presenting and preserving the history of the these brave mens contributions in WWII. They did so much more than just train to fly, you'll see when you come here to learn their history and share their story.
Mark Hughes — Google review
This was a great stop. I highly recommend setting aside a couple of hours and walking through the WW2 history of this site. Everything is very clean and well kept. They show a movie that really sets the tone of what it was like to be a Tuskegee Airman. They also have a little gift shop and the bathrooms are clean.
Fire Hazard — Google review
Another museum not open on Sunday 🥲. We were able to walk around the campus where they trained and peek into the buildings. We weren't able to see any of the planes they flew because the campus was closed. Still, it was worth going. You can feel the presence of greatness, American heroes!!! Because it was closed, I'm not sure if there's a cost associated.
Zakiya Hyman — Google review
This was a great place to visit to learn about the Tuskegee airmen! Having lived in the DC area and gone to both Smithsonian air and space museums (downtown and near IAD), we were not sure what to expect. While there were really only about half a dozen big artifacts in hanger 1, hanger 2 had great videos of interviews with various airmen (about a dozen clips) that really made the stop worthwhile. Hanger 1 had a P-51, and two trainer aircraft with a Link trainer box, a hands-on parachute folding display, and various uniforms (not to be tried on).
Outside, you could wander around to look at buildings and wire-frame "ghost" buildings that no longer existed.
The ranger greeting us was Lori. Her enthusiasm for her job was a great start.
Be mindful of the hours / days of week that they are open. Only limited days. During our off season visit, their opening day for the week was Wednesday as indicated on a paper sign over the normal sign. We looked at the outside on Monday and went back on Thursday. I'd call first. But definitely worth the visit, free, and not far off the Interstate.

Excellent...stayed in Auburn 20 minutes away. Highly recommend for History buffs and people who feel there is a gap in mainstream education. Experience details that should have been in our history books!
Dora Tarver — Google review
We took another couple with us. He was very interested in seeing the museum having watched the movie about the Red Tails.
Visitors need to keep in mind the focus of the museum. It tells the story of black men, striving to become the nation's first black aviators amid all the hardships from bigotry and prejudices both in training while at Tuskegee and in the war. Their story is told through a lot of written displays, an excellent movie, and living history recordings of actual pilots. If you're expecting a lot of hardware and aircraft on display (like at the Smithsonian), you'll be disappointed. There are 3 (or 4?) aircraft on display (the hallmark being a very well done replica of a P-51) and a few items of clothing and equipment.
If you've come to better understand the history of a group of men who persevered (an excelled) in spite of the racial injustices of that era, I don't think you will be disappointed.
There are acres of parking spaces available. When we were there, there was no more than 10 people touring the museums (located in 2 hangers). The parking lot is on a hill that overlooks the museum and airport. It is a hike down to the museums themselves. Other than Handicap accessible parking right in front of the museums, everyone else has to negotiate the hike from the parking lot....a bit difficult to the families with kids/strollers and the elderly (but not Handicapped.
No tickets required. It's free.

WOW!! So Wonderfully Preserved And Well Kept. This Inside Look At Some Of The Remaining Standing Structures Of The Training Grounds For The Esteemed Tuskegee Airmen Is A Beacon Of History. Although The Time Period That This Museum Takes Place In (30's & 40's) Is Marred With A Painful Past, This Site Focuses On The Training These Men Went Through While They Were There, Prior To Going Overseas. Be Sure To Ask Your Park Ranger Questions. They Are So Super Friendly And Knowledgeable. Have Fun!
Nikeisha Burgess — Google review
The museum offered a great look into the unique and powerful history that our great nation can offer. A very small and quaint museum it offers itself with a lot of heart.
The airstrip is busier than one would think. Yet that is a major part of its charm. One could learn many things from a history laden town such as Tuskegee.
Joshua Invictus (SoloKozak) — Google review
An education beyond words. The historic site is small but it completely makes up for its size in content. They have interactive displays of oral history and dozens of Red Tail and 332 artifacts. We were with a group of 70 and we finished touring the site in an hour. The only ping I can give is that the gift shop only allows 5 people at a time.
Brandon Upson — Google review
Highly recommended - to include the high production videos onsite in the main theater and the small displays.
Plan on 2 hours to see everything - bathrooms, water fountains, and a gift shop are on site but no free public WiFi.
Ryan Smith — Google review
This is a nice historical site in Tuskegee. This site is at Moton Field, one of the air fields used by the Tuskegee Airmen. There are 2 hangars, Hangar 1, being original, and Hangar 2, rebuilt by the park service and used as a museum. Great way to learn about the Tuskegee Airmen!

We did an impromptu stop, and it was super worth it. It's amazing how these heroes were able to focus. I was in awe with all of their accomplishments they've achieved while enduring such hardships.
Show some respect and educate yourself with the various journeys of their time.
They fought for this country only to return home to fight for substandard treatment and Jim Crow laws.

Such a hidden gem! This museum honors great heroes who sacrificed to protect us and their fellow pilots. This museum continues to get better and better. The movie is fantastic!

This is a historically important memorial to the trailblazing men and women designated as Tuskegee Airmen. Thir role in the history of the military deserves a much bigger, much grander memorial than this. Now, I'm. Ot knocking this, this is definitely a place to come and see and learn about a significant group of men and women. There are a few original structures, displays, and relics that show what life was like for them. I recommend that if you ever swing through Alabama, stop and check this memorial out. Its important to keep our history alive.
Fans line up for the "tiger walk" to welcome Auburn's team on the field at this sports stadium.
Amazing stadium. First time visitors, GO DAWGS! absolutely beautiful, the opening pre game blew us away with helicopters flying over. Truly outstanding. Bathroom were kept clean the whole game and the fans were a very nice addition. It is a cashless stadium which was nice not to have to worry about carrying cash around. Rival team fans were welcoming and friendly. And helpful.

Despite the fact my team was throttled by Auburn this past weekend, I really enjoyed my visit to the stadium and Auburn overall. Not enough can be said about how hospitable and welcoming the fans were the entire weekend. Every tailgate we walked by offered a “welcome to Auburn” along with a drink and food, and they were more than willing to talk for as long as we’d listen. The stadiums atmosphere was lively the entire game and I am glad I was able to experience their version of souther hospitality. Not so sure we would have gotten the same treatment if we were from their intestate rivals, however we are not them and were treated great everywhere we went the entire weekend. Kudos to Auburn and their fans.

Jordan-Hare Stadium is a must-see destination for any college football fan, especially on game days when the stadium becomes a sea of orange and blue. The stadium is located on the beautiful campus of Auburn University, which offers plenty of attractions and activities for visitors. The stadium is also close to downtown Auburn, where fans can enjoy the local restaurants, bars, and shops. Jordan-Hare Stadium is more than just a stadium, it is a symbol of Auburn pride and spirit.

Went here for the first time for the Mississippi st game and this place is truly special, friendly workers, fast operation, fun games, hype, and delicious dr pepper. I cant reccomend enough going to an auburn game even if your not a fan.
LowJsofa — Google review
Jordan-Hare stadium is beautiful, and the crowd/fans are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. When you first pull up on campus it seems Erie like no one is there. My friend and I said what no tailgating or anything. So we walk like a mile down the massive hill, and you will see a little group here or there tailgating. Nothing like other SEC Schools.
So finally we reach the stadium beautiful coming down the hill. When you reach the bottom it is a tale of two different universes. It was a shock to say the least. There is a crowd everywhere, music, food trucks, merchandise, and much more. It goes from quite to loud within seconds. Still the crowd, and the fans of Auburn were classy and kept it clean. We tried to find Tumors Square to see the trees that that wack job from Alabama poisoned, but I think the crowd felt specious of us asking where they were at!! So we didn't end up seeing them. #STTDB

Came as a NMSU fan to see Auburn play a slotter game, which the Aggies came to play. Tailgating is next level, yet hard to find parking. Dry stadium, so that was new to me. Toomer's Drugs is a historic corner drugstore in Auburn that has been transformed into a charming old-fashioned soda fountain and restaurant. Established in 1896, it is renowned for its delicious lemonade and great food. Despite its name, Toomer's also offers an array of Auburn gear for sale. The efficiency of service is impressive, even during busy times, making it a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.
A tradition in Auburn you can't pass up. Stop in for the best lemonade you'll ever taste and pick up an Auburn shirt or souvenir to take home. Friendly folks here and always welcoming both locals and new fans and friends!

Get the Lemonade. It really is a good as they say. Even if the line is out the door, efficiency borders on Chick-fil-A, so give it a whirl.
Aside from that, Toomer's is an institution. Why wouldn't you go in to shop and get some lemonade? They've got sugar-free and all kinds of flavored lemonade. They've got Auburn gear for decent prices. My 15 yo son and I took full advantage.
Our only regret? We didn't get a larger size lemonade.

Toomer's Drugstore is an icon in Auburn, AL and a must see place in the southeast because of its world famous lemonade. Handmade fresh while you move through the line. Limeade is mighty good too. They have soda and ice cream but the lemonade is why you're here.

Camped here in our camper for a week. Everything has been relaxing and peaceful. The only down fall we've had is that there is no wifi at the campground itself, which is why I only gave 4 stars. I'm a real estate broker and hubs and I own 2 other businesses so being without wifi is challenging, but we've enjoyed our stay. Luckily our hot spots have served us well during our stay.

Just went to learn about the park and to picnic while on our trip. No parking in the picnic area for travel trailers in tow. Had to take up many spaces and we were questioned by the ranger about our intent. The bathrooms were dirty. The nature trail close to the picnic area had no signage for it's length. Nor could we find details about that trail near the picnic area. The nature is absolutely beautiful.

From a nature standpoint, this place is pretty cool. I frequently see alligators in the lake whenever I stop by, and there is other wildlife like birds and deer.
There are many cabins and a large hotel. That are pretty new. But the cabins by the water are not shaded, and the hotel was fairly empty.
Unfortunately, the place is poorly maintained. There is grass growing in the tennis courts. A dock is in disrepair. The pool was closed. And the marina chandler was closed despite a sign in the window saying it would be open seven days a week.

Lakepoint Resort State Park
Directions from RVTRIPWIZARD were correct. Entrance into the Park has signage pointing to the Marina Lodge for check-in. Road network is good and plenty of parking at the Marina for large rigs. Check in was easy in the Camp Store which had a nice selection. Fire wood was available to purchase. There is also a grill at the Marina Lodge but it was totally confusing on when they are open. She told me they would be open Monday (we were checking in on a Sunday) but an hour later she told my wife the grill would be closed but the restaurant in the Main Hotel Lodge would be open. We went to confirm and nope, they are closed on Mondays. So, at this stage it’s anyone’s guess. We were provided a map with code for the security gate into the actual RV campsites. There are lots of trails in this Park but no map was provided for them. Roads up to the RV campground security gate were ok but once through the gate they got ugly quick. Our initial reservation was for Barbour Loop. FYI, there are four loops; Alabama Loop, Barbour Loop, Deer Court Loop and Clark Loop. Only Deer Court has full hookups. First thing we noticed were the roads actually got worse as we entered Barbour Loop. Also, all of the hook ups were on the passenger side so water and electrical cables would have to be snaked under your rig. Another thing was there were a number of apparent “long stay” residents that gave the loop a junky feeling. We called the Marina and they switched us to a site in Deer Court. Full hook up sites are $30 a night and most are pull throughs. Sites are asphalt with a fire pit, picnic table and e/w/s. Roads remain in terrible shape and most sites are in need of mowing and some road repair. Many of the approaches to sites were deeply rutted. AT&T had one to two bars. No WiFi is available.
This must have been one heck of a Park in its day. We saw abandoned tennis courts, signs along one of the trails that needed replacing, and there was just a general sense of depression. Now, if you are into water activities, this is the place for you because the Marina was beautiful.
If you are looking for a single night stay this will work. If you are staying because you have a boat then you’ve come to the right place.

Beautiful quick get away place. Only thing is it's very pricey and nothing is included except coffee in the room. We didn't even have a microwave. Also if we wanted dinner the night that we arrived we had to buy their Valentine's Special. Keep in mind we arrived on late Saturday evening around 7pm. Was supposed to have a seafood bar. But only thing available to eat there was that dinner. Service wasn't great because only one person was running the dining room and she did a good job when she was at our table. But impossible for her to keep up with everyone and everything. She deserves a raise and promotion!!! Was told because of covid our room in the lodge wouldn't be cleaned. But if we needed clean towels and bedding to put it outside of our door and fresh supplies would be left. Needless to say we did our part but they didn't do theirs. When we checked out those towels were still in the same spot. But each day we could hear the cleaning crew. They had no respect for sleeping guest. I assume they talked instead of doing their job! Also more things should be included for free with the price that they are charging every day. Can't check in until 4 or 4:30pm but check out is at 11am. See where I'm going with this????? Not happy with our little get away from home....I would go back if they done improvements on everything. Only thing that was like they said was tv and internet. But for gosh sakes. We were at the lake. We could have looked at tv and surfed the internet at home!

Great park but the rooms seemed sort of dirty and they also seemed to be very short staffed. It’s time for the State of Alabama to stop starving our state parks.

We love this park for camping! It is always clean and so do quiet! It's only 45 minutes from home. We have been camping here since the late 1980's. Finally got our RV when I retired in 2020. Nothing more relaxing than camping!!!

Facilities were clean and well maintained, staff and guests were a little guarded with answering questions, but I guess that’s the world we live in now. Was nice seeing the 1st other Monticello river yacht since getting ours!

Booking was very easy, price for camping very reasonable, the ladies who checked us in were very friendly, the campground was well maintained, there was lots of wood around for firewood, the bathrooms were clean and well maintained (and had an AC/heater!), the showers looked a little dirty but weren’t bad. It wasn’t crowded - it was peaceful and pretty. The park ranger routinely drove around to make sure things were all good. They were doing a controlled burn so there was a lot of smoke, especially the first night we stayed there. It made for some fun photos though. It was really dark at night and we could see a lot of stars - very pretty!

Loved the room and staff in lodge. Would absolutely be a 5, but was not informed upon booking that the pool was down, no boats would be available for rent due to the maintenance not being complete and we could not get help at the Off Road Course area. Beautiful place, just wish the other amenities were available. Left Vaca early.

It was a relaxing place allowing for us to have a great weekend. I started with 3 stars but I raised it to 4. The reason I didn’t give 5 is because one of the ladies working the desk had the nastiest attitude. First of all I wasn’t engaged in a conversation with her she was actually helping someone else. The issue came when I believe her name was Danielle pulled my information and there was an issue with the check-in date. The other heard her say my name and stated “I was lucky because she was about to give my room away since I wasn’t there the day before and didn’t answer my phone in that day when they called. I wasn’t supposed to be there the day before and I couldn’t answer my phone because I was actively riding my motorcycle on my way there. She basically ignored everything I said and continued in with her nasty attitude saying they called and I didn’t answer. I then let her know that at my gas stop I called back and got a voicemail she then stated once again very nasty that they didn’t have voicemail. So I asked who was Sharon realizing I wasn’t lying she then stated well I guess she called you from her personal phone. Which one is it you do if you don’t!!!? I then asked Danielle to please get me a supervisor because for one her attitude was very nasty and the whole conversation was about to go in a totally different direction. Two I been on a bike since 6 am through different weather and was tired. Three at no time was I rude to her. Four one of our chapters has this event their every year bringing a lot of us from all over the US on bikes. And last but not least it just want anyway to speak to someone especially when they weren’t being rude to her. When I asked for a supervisor her whole attitude changed then she became helpful and the tone in her voice was like speaking to a whole different person. Danielle spent about 3 minutes correcting the issue allowing me and my husband to be able to check into our room with one day I had already paid at booking and then only being charged for one more day. Not sure of the rude lady’s name funny thing she was the assistant superintendent, she needs to take some customer service lessons from Danielle. Hopefully by next year she will have had some extended training.

Stopped to see the alligators and it did not disappoint. We went for a 10 minute walk and lost count how many we saw. Very cool.
Only down sides: lots of garbage in the waters and be careful where you walk, lots of fire any nests.

Great Wolf Lodge Water Park in LaGrange, Georgia is a nature-themed resort with warm and colorful suites. It's one of the largest family indoor water park resorts in North America, offering an expansive 93,000-square-foot water park with pools and slides kept at a comfortable 84 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The lodge provides kid-friendly activities, dining options, and even a wine-down service for adults.
Our first time at the great wolf lodge with a 4 and 2 year old! We had so much fun and can't wait to go back! Everything was great.
When we first arrived we loved how clean everything was. Even the floors looked so clean, the bathrooms etc. They were very quick and efficient getting tables cleaned for the next family
The rooms were also very clean, linens very nice looking, quiet rooms, cozy feeling. We felt at home.
The water park was great. Our kids loved it! They had so much fun and we had to force them out of the water. It was also pretty clean for a water park. One of the cleanest I've seen!
It's definitely not a cheap trip so if you visit definitely get a meal package and prepare to spend some money but for the experience it's well worth it and they get freebies with their passes. Our kids got a free build a bear that they adore! The staff is very friendly and helpful for us newbies. It's definitely an experience and very highly recommend everyone checking one out! It's fun for the whole family!

This was our families second trip to great wolf lodge and I expect many more to come. From check in the to check out everything is a breeze.
Don't worry about loosing your debit card with room charges using your wristband. Don't worry as much about your kids drowning because the lifeguards are out of this world amazing and super attentive. And definitely don't worry about your kids growing bored.
I know a lot of people's only complaint is price. We went as a family of 6 for 3 days, two nights, and didn't hold back for $900. This included adult beverages, food while there (breakfast, dinner, and snacks for lunch), the room, build a bear, magi quest, and several other little things. We did bring snacks and drinks from home and buy a refillable cup, good for your entire stay for inside the water park where you're not suppose to bring your own food and drink, although I seen several people pack in whole picnics. There is definitely room to save a lot more than what we spent, but I think it was completely worth it for what we were provided.
Customer service is phenomenal and every single staff member is fun, helpful, and super nice.
Our kids are 14, 14, 5, and 4.
We will be back!

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and efficient this place is. The children had a wonderful time and are already asking to go again. The place was moderately crowded. The staff was well organized and kept everything running smoothly. Our room was clean and sanitized to my liking, and I am extremely picky about room cleanliness. Although it was pretty crowded, everyone was friendly, and there were no disruptions that I could see. My only gripe was the public restrooms by the pool area. Disgusting!!!! Make sure you have pool shoes or you will be walking in everyone's hair. That was my only major upset, but that could just be me. The stalls were clean, but the floors were really wet, and hair was EVERYWHERE!!! They need to tend to the public restrooms more frequently and use something so that the hair is removed. The pool area was spotless. Everything else was amazing!

Our first visit was wonderful. We stayed 2 nights with another family and we requested our rooms were side by side and were granted that request. Everything was clean and all of the staff (wolf pack) were so nice and helpful.
Our son lost his wolf pass the first night and he was freaking out so my husband went to the front desk. They explained to let the night crew clean and give them a chance to find it and come back in the morning. Thankfully, we wrote our kids names on their passes and they were able to find it and give it to us the next morning.
We're already planning a return trip to this location.

The great Wolf Lodge is great, rooms are great, but as any other theme park everything can be better with more money. Premium parking requires money but loved the free Tesla chargers. Service has been great. Kiosk check-in does require having to meet front staff for the bracelet for the park. I asked for away from the elevator and was given the last room where the elevator is next to room 1 and I was given 55 which is the last room so lots of walk to the room from the elevator. The mobile food was so backed up at the bucket, they apologized saying due to the new system but from the time I placed the order until my order was ready it was close to 50 minutes. Kids had so much fun and even with fully booked rooms you were able to get through 5 major rides in an hour. The staff was super helpful. Even with so many people, many folks were reserving seats early in the morning so if someone in your family wakes up early, you would want to reserve seats for the water park.

First time visiting here. Kids really enjoyed it. The sit-down restaurant was pretty ok (food decent and service great). The highlights are really the amenities and activities. The place is very lovely and fun. The water park was wonderful. They didn't have our room ready (3 hours late), but they did give us a break on the pricing. Will likely visit again.

I've only been to the water park area. The rooms look nice & kid friendly, but I've never stayed the night. It's a very nice facility but it is expensive. Yes, I knew the prices before going. Anyone over the age of 2 is FULL PRICE despite not being able to ride all the slides. (Hight restrictions) The prices vary by day for the water park. I've seen prices vary from $57-125 per person for one day. My particular day was $100 per person. I just think there needs to be a price adjustment for younger kids because my six year old son couldn't ride all slides even with adult supervision but had to pay adult price. Very nice facility for one-stop fun.

The rooms were very clean on arrival. I wiped down counters, table, end table, toilet and there was not any residue. Surprisingly!! They did an excellent job at keeping their cleaning and sanitizer vows. Room 2226. The only downside is there was no microwave. 🤔
Other than that the atmosphere was really good and pleasant. With all of the people that was here it wasn't loud at all. Everyone was very friendly and all came to have a great time. The food was enough for 2 people and they definitely kept the place clean. So this is a great place to visit when you want to have a great time.

Pleasantly surprised by our first time visiting Great Wolf Lodge Water Park. We had a blast at the water park, chilled by the pool, dinner at the restaurant, fun at the arcade, rested easy at our comfortable clean room, then an amazing breakfast buffet in the morning and repeated the next day with different activities and foods.
The staff throughout the facilities were very accommodating and genuinely friendly making us feel welcomed. All the workers seemed to enjoy their position whether a cleaning person, cashier or food server.
I highly recommend this lodge & park whether you are one or one hundred, something to do and have fun for everyone.
Easy access in and out right off the interstate

We had a nice weekend here. The room was clean and comfortable, the water park was amazing, we enjoyed the ropes course, staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Minus a star for two reasons: it was difficult to social distance and I really would’ve appreciated a vaccination verification and better enforcement of masks because hardly anyone was wearing one. But my main complaint was that fountain drinks couldn’t be refilled. They put little stickers on the bottoms of the cups that won’t allow you to get a refill! This just seems petty for all the money you spend while you’re there. We had to wait a while for our lunch (no biggie it was busy) and we drank our drinks while we waited only to find that we couldn’t get a refill when the food came. At the very least they should make it very clear that drinks aren’t refillable. Refills are expected for fountain drinks, come on. But again, overall a very good experience.

We love every trip we make here, from week long vacations to weekend excursions. Check in is quick and easy. Rooms are clean. Although the food could be better, the breakfast never disappoints. Both adults and kid enjoy the water park. It's clean, no long lines. Rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere post water park frenzy. It's fun to get here and let time stand still as we enjoy being together as a family.

What a wonderful trip with the kids (10 & 11). They did every activity in the water park that was available and it was a mix of fun and thrill! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Willow, the virtual concierge, is so helpful! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Go to the counter at the store directly across from check in to get your wolf ears for free! Bring as many snacks as possible to cut down on food costs. To do every activity there is your child needs to be 48” tall. HAVE FUN!

A must for families! Our kids loved every minute of it! We stayed for a week. Yes, 7 days of water. My husband and I were over it by the 3rd day, but the kids enjoyed themselves, which is all that mattered! We had the pup passes and they loved the activities. Bowling was very fun. Even our 2 year old enjoyed it! The attractions were fun and the kids' area had rides for everyone. The baby loved going on the slides by herself, she didn't want us to help her up the stairs! We didn't eat any food there. We ordered out. The rooms were comfy and very roomy. Best indoor waterpark ever. Fun for the whole family. We visited in 2019. The price has tripled/quadrupled since then, so we haven't returned yet.

I really wanted to love this location but I did not! Check in was a breeze! I opted for the birthday package so I wanted to see my daughters face when we opened our room door. Opened the room to nothing. I went downstairs and wanted inquired on the items and they told me it would be delivered the next day. Because I requested it that day, they needed a 24 hr notice. Which I am good with that but I wish I knew that before selecting that option because I would not have done so. Next day starts off great. But then no place to sit indoors or outdoors. They finally bring out more chairs and umbrellas. I attempted to order food, my wristband does not work. I get out of line and go to the front desk. They apologized because my credit card was not added to my band. I go back to order food. The machine was down and the fryer…waited over an hour for food. My head is pounding by this time. Kiddo is frustrated. Ended up spending the rest of the evening in bed with a pounding headache. I think we will keep going to the Charlotte location. It’s a little bit more organized

First time at this location, but not my first time at Great wolf. I’ll say this location is the smallest I’ve seen, however that’s the only complaint. Rented our own cabana out and the service was amazing all around. Had great food at dinner. Lunch was not bad at all either. Your basic tenders and fries that tasted good, nothing fancy but nothing bad like other reviews I’ve seen. Prices for activities like bowling and gold reasonable. Would definitely come again with the little one. I don’t think it’s a place for older kids so much just with lack of size and options , but the little ones will have a great time. Dana, Hannah S. And Brianna were three people that helped us a lot through our stay and they were 10/10.

Great place, chairs are a lot like white water people come in, place a towel in a chair and never come back. Standing room only unless you purchase a cabana. I really wish this could be better regulated. Tons of fun for kids. Bar for the adults. Adults jumping in a closed pool, it would be a different situation if it was open but it was closed with signage. I wish they would have tossed them out of the park. We did a day trip so we didn't stay in the rooms.

I read the reviews and was so over thinking our trip. But it was very nice. However, if playing the MagiQuest game, be prepared to do some walking! I recommend bringing your own food as well. The only place that was decent was Hungry as a wolf. Everything is WAY over priced!! They could lower it and it was STILL be over priced. Insane! And the chicken and burgers aren’t even seasoned. Save your money!!! The staff was great and very friendly. Games and attractions were fun. Make sure you purchase passes!! The water park was crowded but it’s not too terrible to where we couldn’t enjoy it. I was worried about it being loud in our room but you can’t really hear anything from the lobby, which gets REALLY loud. Take advantage of the daily events! We enjoyed it but it’s definitely a one and done type of place… we can say we been there!

Overall impressed. The park is kept very clean & all of staff was nice & considerate. I appreciate that they were allowing people to be without masks. We chose to rent a cabana for the day as even though we got there an hour from opening - ALL seats were taken. The cabana service is well worth it though for privacy & the ability to order drinks/food & have it brought to you. Next time we will stay in the resort for a few days for sure! Kids loved it.

Definitely a great place to take the kids. There is plenty to do, and nobody got bored. The website makes the indoor water park look bigger than it actually is, but it's still pretty big, and the kids loved it. The food is good and the dining package was worth it. The drinks were great and so were the bartenders at the Waterpark bar. Rooms were clean and the kids loved the bunk beds. Checkout time is hectic and the line for the elevators gets long. The "late night" dance party was really fun. All in all, we had a great time and will be back again!

We stayed overnight, but I was ready to leave after 2 hours. It was very crowded, extremely loud, and the carpets smelled bad. Everything was way overpriced for the quality. The food at the breakfast buffet and restaurant were decent, but again, overpriced. Our room was clean, but nothing special. Thank goodness we rented an expensive "cabana", or we would have had no place to sit/eat/relax.The wave pool and lazy (more like frenetic) river were shut down due to poop, but quickly reopened after some cups of chlorine granules were dumped in. People were packed in, kids screaming everywhere, and there was no way I was getting in that water. I guess I was expecting more of a nice resort atmosphere, but it was just a crazy Chuck-E-Cheese with water. I don't know why they bother with a wolf theme, with no reference other than a little cheap decor, some wolf ears for guests, and employees who howl at the birthday parties. Your 6-10 year old will love it, and the $10 draft beer will help you get through it. Don't bother with the margaritas, they're just a little cheap tequila and some orange juice. Orange juice, jeez.

The rooms were nice but the cleaning before we arrived was not the best. We asked for room service mid week of our stay and no one ever came. We wiped down the room before we actually slept. We got towels brought to our room and some were not washed properly so check your towels.

The water park was great. Really enjoyed the warm water on the winter days, although not sure they clean too often (there was a pair of false eyelashes hanging out for a few days around the lazy river). We bought the package for unlimited bowling, mini-golf, rock climbing, and the rope course, but probably should have stayed with the wolf pass for our 4 year old as she was not tall enough to participate in some of those activities. They have events for the kids, but they didn’t always start on time or were happening off to the side without much mention from staff. Dining options within are pricey, especially since they charge a resort fee already, but there are nearby options. Definitely visit downtown LaGrange.

This place is very convenient for us in this area versus going to the beach! Just the amount of money saving on gas and food stops along the way. Can possibly sway you to visit this place. Besides the place being immaculate and still looking brand new, it is so much fun and so many more things to do other than the water park. The fact that you can get there and swim earlier than check in and the fact that you can stay until 8:00 the next evening after check-in, makes this a full 2 days. Even if you only stay overnight. They are great foods on the inside, but I think one of the best values if you are value conscious is the pizza. But if you're still value conscious on the foods, there are plenty of fast food restaurants right at the entrance. But nothing beats the convenience of having foods and drinks right there where you're at and they are great. I also recommend going during Halloween or Christmas for the decorations. Spring is okay but they don't decorate near as much. Knowing that the cold or the rain will not affect your fun is worth every penny. And you can't go wrong with the rooms as well.

Our first room was not cleaned well. So we had to move rooms. That room smelled like it had been cleaned recently. Still could clean the room better.
The water park, though, was a lot of fun for our 4 - and 7 year old. They had a blast. Also with all the little shops and things to do inside the lodge were so nice and convenient with 3 young kiddos. It was overall one of our best vacations as a family.

Embrace the chaos… spring break at GWL was packed, but it was still very fun. We stayed 2 nights with kids 8, 10, & 11. There’s a good variety of water & dry activities. Lots of kid-friendly food as well (order from the app to skip the potentially long lines).
We had a great time. I’d say 2 nights is just about perfect.

This place is best for families with young teens to about 7. Not much for 5 and below . Best age is 6-12 in my opinion.
They need more signs to explain things. Like you need to go to the little adventure counter to pick up items for mini gulf and coins for bowling. How to return towels from pool so you don't get charged, how to get refills on drinks. Is it free or you pay for each refill after scanning bar code on cup. I still don't know because they don't have a sign with instructions.
My kids had a great time and had lots to do for 2 days but that was long enough, after that my kids would have been board. For me it was nice to have everything under one rooftop.

The indoor pool and swim activity areas are great, especially on rainy days. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food wasn't that great. Pretty bland and pricey, but the portions were a good size. While our room was clean, after the first day, there was a film of dust all over everything. If you have allergies or asthma be aware. We turned off the AC unit to help keep the dust in the room down. They may need to clean the AC units or the filters to cut down on the level of dust in the rooms.

I was most impressed with the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. This was our first overnight stay at this property. During the check-in process and several other direct encounters with the staff, we continually got the impression that fulfilling our requests and making us comfortable were important to them.
While there was a large number of people on the property, everyone seemed to have space. The hallways were full of people, but didn’t seem crowded. The various dining establishments seemed busy, but there was never an inappropriate wait time.
There were plenty of activities for kids of all ages to enjoy and participate. The rooms were a bit worn but seemed to be clean and everything was in working order. There is a daily (24 hour period) parking charge of $15 if you have a vehicle.
We totally enjoyed our stay!

We loved the Great Wolf Lodge! It was smaller than we expected, so we definitely got to do everything multiple times. Maybe a little small for 3 days of visiting, but other than that it was so fun! Kids had a great time! Room was nice & clean staff was wonderful and very kind & friendly! My only complaint is that there were way too many people in the hot tub and when we were able to get in it parents were letting the kids swim in it like a pool and they were jumping all on top of us... I think it should be age limited honestly and should be monitored a little better! Other than that no complaints!

This place is way too family oriented. It's an amazing place for children around or below the age of 5. For anyone who isn't young, it's pretty darn bad, but the water park and restaurants were nice.
The room's pretty bad, and the beds were very small. Also, the kid beds are not made for 11 year old kids.
The room service was alright, but all the employees were super nice. They SPAMMED text messages to ask if everything was going fine.
The water park was amazing, and a big step up from Jay Peak (amazing hotel by the way) All the slides were fun, even if the rest was pretty boring.
Overall, good for a family with young children, bad for a family with older children, or just a young couple.

Our favorite family vacation spot! This is our third visit and it keeps improving! The water slides rock, there's tons of activities (ropes course, rock wall climbing, mini golf, panning for gems, bowling), and MagiQuest--my kids' favorite! Hours of entertainment! We always have a blast. We try to stay three nights in an attempt to get as much in as possible. I have to say, the food is pretty awesome! And my kids love the themed rooms with bunk beds. All of the staff is super helpful. The lifeguards are hyper vigilant, and I feel very safe with my kids running around the water park. Everything is clean and well maintained. And it's nice because it's temperature controlled! Definitely give it a try. It's worth the money!

I have stayed at other Great Wolf Lodge and this one was by far the worst one. All the check-in kiosk were broken, room was fifty with pubic hair in the shower, no shower gel. The staff was 50/50. Some were very nice and some didn't want to do their jobs or seemed annoyed when asked questions of where things were or when my kid dropped a juice...the cleaning staff just stood there looking at what happened and didn't bother to come help. We went to ask for her help and she said we had to ask someone else for a mop.
The pool was nice.
The National Civil War Naval Museum is a historical museum that showcases Navy ships used in the Civil War with reenactments and ghost tours. The museum features informative plaques and diagrams about the ships, artillery, crews and their quarters. One of the displayed ships, CSS Jackson, has damage from battles it was in and giant spikes holding it together. The man at the front desk is knowledgeable on both displayed and undiscovered ships being raised out of the ocean.
Visited 12/28/2021
The man at the front desk was very knowledgeable on the ships displayed as well as other ships that they are attempting to locate and raise out of the ocean.
The CSS Jackson is a much larger ship than it appears in the pictures, even with a portion of the middle missing. You can see the giant spikes holding the ship together, as well as the damage from the battles it was in. There are several cannons on display, and a plethora of other diagrams and informative plaques throughout the museum giving you information on the ships, artillery, crews and their quarters. Absolutely would recommend for a [Naval] history lover

This place is simply awesome. We stopped because it gave us a break on our drive to Atlanta, and I was blown away with what they’ve got for such a small place that is privately (it is non-government funded) funded. They have a ton of information all around, and some really neat artifacts. I would recommend this place to anyone, and would certainly return if I find myself in the area.

I’ve been wanting to go to this museum for years but sadly waited long enough for the ship to be torn down! It was a lovely experience for someone looking to get out for a couple hours! It’s not too big and not too small! It’s perfect for a family outing and the staff was great! It’s also priced reasonably at $8 for adults and you get what you pay for 😎

Worth the price of admission. Learn about something that isn't really taught much in any high school or college history class.

This is an excellent museum, not government run but locally operated. This place has lots and lots of very interesting artifacts and some very knowledgeable workers who are able to answer most any question you may have.
I will admit I was a little shocked to be at a Naval museum in Columbus Ga (nowhere near the coast) but they explained the why and reasoning behind the location and it made great sense and was an interesting historical lesson in itself.

I wasn't sure what to expect. The topic seemed a bit narrow...but I have to admit I was impressed and indeed learned a number of things. The CSS Jackson is a very impressive display. Same with the historic flags. Some of the displays are like movie sets--good for the kids. If you just want to "see" it, you can run through in about 30-40 minutes. I am one of those who reads everything and ended up spending over 2 hours. Price is reasonable.

Really neat museum for history buffs. Tickets are a little pricey but they do offer military discounts. It was not very crowded so it was nice to move around at your own pace with tons of information around the museum. The museum isn’t very interactive, but it has great artifacts including the wreckage of an ironclad. Good place to stop at on a free weekend.

We took our 6th grade class for a field trip. We booked a tour through the museum and I am so glad we did!
We had a great tour guide and the director of education Brandon were super knowledgeable and kind. Both were great with the kids and were able to answer all questions the students had. They were super accommodating to our group and made us feel very welcome. We plan to make this an annual field trip for our school.

Hello Peoples, Was totally well worth it, Thank U for allowing me to get my Big Truck & Trailer in your Museum. Not to many places for us Truckers to get in and see the sights. If it wasn't for parking, I would have stayed longer, & yes I will come back. When I get the chance, and again. Thank U...loved it..
I don't really care for museums. But this was a very eye evening, heart wrenching, and educational visit. I'm going back tomorrow to see the rest of it. It was such a beautiful place and a great reminder of how lucky we are as a nation because of the sacrifices the men and women in uniform made for us. I would add more pictures but it's better to experience it in person. All the employees were just so kind.

So much to learn. Truly an amazing museum. Could spend hours learning and walking back in time to see the past. The artwork is stunning. The statues are life like. If you have an opportunity to visit, invite a veteran or current soldier so personal and so many real life stories. A must see on your Ft. Benning visit. It is free to see but please be generous and make a nice donation.

Great museum located at Ft. Moore, Ga. Lots of exhibits outside. There is a WWII company street that is awesome. If you’re into military history, or even just history, then this is the place for you. This museum does a great job thoughtfully covering the history of the USA Infantry from inception to modern times. The displays are amazing and the artifacts are plentiful. I really enjoyed the modern exhibit and the WWI exhibit. The entry is free but I would recommend giving a donation by either cash or card. There’s a great gift shop and food options as well. Make sure you give yourself a few hours to really be able to see everything.

This is the best free museum I've ever been to (donations only)! It's 3 floors very big and an extremely nice. I was very impressed. There is a theater inside along with concession area that sales food so many thing to read and see you will need a couple hours to see everything and there is even an outside area and courtyard with many facts! This museum is huge and many awards hang in the ceiling in the front entrance and I can see why. It was also very clean and friendly staff, this is a definite must if your in the Columbus area. It's literally a top 5 museum and also they offer rooms for events and weddings. Add it to your bucket list!

This is a simply amazing place. It is an interactive history of the United States infantry. It has many exhibits showing you the strength of our nations premier fighting force. The grounds of the parade field is laden with the soil from every battle since the American revolution. That way every soldier walks in the footsteps of those who have gone before. Totally worth a visit to see how your freedom is defended. Hooah!

Amazing! I haven't been back to Benning since the end of the 90's. This wasn't there when I was stationed or went back for training. However, we were passing through the Columbus area with our children in a family trip so, we thought we'd show them the old stomping grounds! We saw this was there now and decided to visit. Wow! They really did a wonderful job of curation and presentation. I truly can not overstate it enough that it is worth your time (it's free so, no money).

The National Infantry Museum Is Very Awesome! It was great, interesting, and enjoyable to go there to learn all the history, and see all the models. The simulator was very fun too. Without any doubt I strongly recommend The National Infantry Museum because it's more than just a great fun adventure it's a great opportunity to take advantage of! Have a great day!

This place is amazing. Plan an entire day for this. Great movies. Outside there are WW2 Barracks, a church, etc. That's open on weekends.
There are tanks, a Vietnam Memorial that's smaller but just like D.C.
Soldiers from every war and conflict are honored. I need to go back because I didn't get to walk through it all. If you show up on certain data days, you can watch a live graduation of US Army Infantry Soldiers ( why I was there). The graduation is amazing and quite moving. I'd recommend going on one of those days.

The museum is awesome, easily rivaling anything the Smithsonian has to offer. There is so much more here than I thought so I didn't plan my visit very well and only got through half of the museum. If you are in the area and like military history in particular Army Infantry history, you have to visit, it won't disappoint. I think is free, but donations are accepted.

Fantastic and free museum. Its great, has amazing captured history, the dioramas were so intricate. The flow and design were smart and layed out well. Bathrooms clean, paintings were some of the best I've seen depicting incredible scenarios. Its one of the best museums I've visited. Must see if you're in this area.

We actually went for a JROTC field trip, so the museum was closed to the public while we were there, but I definitely plan to return since we didn't get to see everything. The exhibits are really nice and well organized. They also have a Vietnam memorial and a War on Terror memorial outside that are very nice. They offer supplies to make rubbings from these memorials. The staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We had a great experience!
Would like to add that admission is free, but a small donation ($5) is suggested per visitor.

An unplanned visit turned out to be an astonishing one. There is a lot to take in, we were there for couple hours before closing time, realized we barely covered half of it. Triggers several prominent events of history right through the artifacts.
The entire set up is incredible. You get to see most of the artilleries , gain knowledge on what US military goes through in a normal day or on a warlike situation. View the trails and techniques that were undergone in the history. They got a setup to offer near real-time experience of the conditions that US military had been through in the war.
There are heart wrenching, eye opening moments while looking at Japan flag with autographs of soldiers, saddam’s gold gun and many many more.
Staff members are so friendly and helpful at every instance.
There is a lot more to cover and would want to spare a whole day to visit again.
On top of all, there is no cost of ticket. It’s absolutely and totally FREE of cost. Just walk right in. Must visit place in GA.

Free, but donations are appreciated.

Was probably the best museum I have ever been to, and our family has been to dozens of museums. I will say this, "I was so absorbed into the displays, recreation of the scenes and actual information provided that 4 hours seemed like mere minutes." It was an absolute treasure trove of information, history where even the random staff would stop and talk to you, ask questions and give you real world information of "how" the display came to the museum. Amazing job!!

This is my first time to visit this place and I was in awe. The museum has several galleries and has very interesting displays to look and stories to read. It took me 2hours to finish my visit, but actually will take more than that if you truly and hearthily read all of it. The museum visit is of free admission, but a minimum of $5 per person is appreciated as donation. Outside you can visit a memorial site, an old train, combat vehicles and etc. It is located Fort Moore, Columbus, Georgia.

One of the best museums we have ever visited - and it's free..?
Very informative and broken down by the eras.
Free public WiFi, too.
Plan for 3-4 hours to at least experience anything. There is a free 15 minute film in the main exhibits area that is also highly recommended..!
There were some outdoor exhibits, too.
HIGHLY recommended to visit!

We were here for a basic training graduation. The ceremony was small, inside and nice. We were able to tour the museum afterwards and I definitely recommend. My children 7 and 9yo didn't want to spend as much time as I did... but they aren't veterans. Very emotive displays/exhibits. I didn't see all of it, as I was being dragged through the lower portion. You cannot bring even water bottles inside... though, I was able to check it and pick it up as I left! Everyone was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Worth the stop if you have any interest military, any family or friends who are veterans, or just want a little insight into some of America's history.

My family and I had the blessing of being able to experience the National Infantry Museum recently while in town for army purposes. There was lots to see and learn about. I appreciated how great it was organized and displayed. It was close enough to the base for easy travel and with all the outdoor space, it offers a great opportunity for kiddos to run and explore a bit.

One of the best museums that I have ever been too! Amazing displays, and so much history. I am already planning a trip back!
Drive-thru safari park with 65 types of exotic animals, plus bus tours & walking paths.
Great day trip with family. Drove our own vehicle and was never concerned about the animals. They know the routine. Kids loved feeding the deer and smaller ones while I got face to face with both buffalo. Drive slow and enjoy the animals. Buy at least 3 bags of feed pellet. Was a fun time

Overall great experience but is pretty pricey. I would suggest renting one of their vehicles instead of driving your own. We drove our own and we were fine but have preferred to have the bars that were in place on the rental vehicles. The animals were extremely aggressive (can't blame them as they are used to being fed but they are still wild animals). In your personal vehicle you have to keep your window all the way down or up which allows the animals to come pretty far into the car, where as their rentals have bars on the open windows so keeps them at a safer distance.

We visited over 4th of July weekend and got there before lunch. There was no wait at that time. We absolutely loved the safari portion. I ended up renting one of their cars, and was very thankful I did as there was no shortage of drool from the animals and a goat jumped up onto the side of the car. Just be prepared...their cars are pretty gross since they have no windows and are left to the elements. The animals were very friendly and gentle during feeding and there were babies galore! We didn't end up going into the zoo portion (the original part of the park) because we were all too hot. Definitely spring for a bag of food for each person as there are TONS of animals to feed. We'll definitely visit again!

This is about the coolest thing my family and I experienced. We are originally from Virginia and came across a multitude of safaris but never got the chance to visit one. We were in absolute awe to see some of these animals up close. My favorite were the cows 🐄. Seeing a bison that close is absolutely unimaginable. Such beautiful creatures.
We are definitely visiting again and will rent a van next time just to be safe.

We absolutely loved the Wild Animal Safari! Our family of 5 rode on the free bus tour and I think it's the best way for everyone to enjoy it. I love that 99% of the animals are able to roam freely on the 300 plus acres (might be more than that!). The ones that are not free are animals you would not want loose. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the young lady who gave us our tour. Our kids really loved being able to feed the animals and pet some of them too. Definitely worth a visit!

Awesome for a trip with the family! I recommend getting there close to when they open and getting a ride on the bus early. The information is good and the drivers are amusing.
After the ride through, the food court has a nice if limited selection so it's a solid option.
The walking park is short, but we enjoyed the walk through before we took one last ride on the bus tour before leaving.
It was a great day trip and the whole family enjoyed it. I'd absolutely go back again.

Introduction:
This was our first time at Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, GA. We visited the safari on February 10, 2024.
Welcome: The young lady at the front desk was totally awesome!! She was patient, friendly, informative, and as sweet as she wanted to be!
Ambiance:
The weather was nice. It was clean and the animals were alert. They ran to the vehicle ready to get some tasty treats. We did not know what to expect with how it may smell but to my surprise the air was clean. The bathroom was clean!
Food:
We purchased bags of food for the animals and they loved it. We should have purchased more bags, which the young lady at the front desk suggested.
Price:
We had a group of about 12 and chose to rent the van. The van looked like a vehicle that was used in a safari in the Saharan Desert, which added a bit more realism to the adventure.
Will return:
We all agreed we would return. We were fortunate the weather was very nice for this time of year.
Stars:
Five, our entire experience was so wonderful. My son, grandson, and one of our other little friends had such a good time feeding, seeing, and interacting with the animals.
Tip:
If you go in February keep in mind the weather is a hit or miss. Please ask the cashier how many bags of food they suggest, so you will have enough to last the entire ride through the safari.
Experience: Our experience was great! I am not a animal person but I really enjoyed myself. Even my daughter who does not support places like safaris, zoos, etc. she had a nice time.
Downside: It started to drizzle a little right before we were leaving. We were fortunate because the harder rain did not come until we were back on the road heading home.
There is talking in the videos.

This was my second visit. We came for a birthday. It's a fun but expensive experience. Adults ~ $33 and food is $5-7. You want to buy food for the full experience and feed the animals. Yes, it's technically cheaper online ($29); but by the time they add the fees, it's not saving that much. Plus, you'll still have to go inside and stand in line, so online ticketing isn't saving any time.
Both times we did have awesome bus drivers. The employees inside were helpful and professional. Yesterday's bus experience nice but wasn't as great as my first time. The first time we got the giraffes and emu/ostrich to come eat from the bus. The walkabout is also included in the cost of admission, but it's underwhelming. I can see wanting to go once but not really multiple times. (Warning: Try to go to the restroom before you get here. They smell horrid and are pretty icky.)

They exceeded our expectations in every way! Rented vehicle was clean and ran great. Bought meals with tickets online and was pleased with the value as we got a free souvenir sports bottle full of drink and a complete meal. Bathrooms were large, clean, and fully operational. Pleased with the walk through portion as they had a great variety of animals. They had rules posted everywhere to respect the animals. My 3 and 1 year old children had a blast! Wonderful family environment.

Took two of our grandkids to the safari (ages 7 & 9) and they absolutely loved it!!! The animals are very accustomed to visitors and we're quite tame / friendly. We've lived in the general area 25+ years and never visited before. We will be back again. Only regret was getting the kids only one bag of the food each, should have gotten two bags each. It not cheap for sure but they offered a couple dollars off veterans discount and the fun the kids had was well worth the expense. We used our own vehicle with no problem at all aside from a little animal slobber on the doors, not an issue at all. Highly recommended!!!!!

What a GREAT place!! Omg, we had so, so much fun!!! Here are my suggestions: 1. Make reservations on their website (buy tickets, rent vehicle, buy feed) & "ONLY on their Website". 2. Rent the $30 car, you can go at your own pace, pull on the side to let others go around you. The free bus is a much faster trip around. 3. Do not drive your personal vehicle!! We seen people in really nice personal vehicles driving through.... I would not do this!!!! Not a smart decision. Some of the animals stand on the side of the vehicle trying to get food! 4. Purchase the 4 feed bag pack for 2 adults (see photo), they come packed in a nice bag. Each adult should have 2 bags of feed. 5. Get there early when they open. The grounds here are just beautiful & the animals are super, super friendly. It is a long drive through the safari so make sure you have enough feed. Everyone who worked there was super nice. It is an A+ place with people who really care about the welfare of these animals. Much respect to them for a well done job.

We had no idea what to expect at Wild Animal Safari but we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived just at noon and ate lunch at the cafe before we started. Then we rented a van to drive thru (very much suggest you don’t drive your car through!) We also suggest buying the food bag that has 4 cups in it. As we drove through we were greeted by many animals who wanted snacks, it was so much fun to throw the food pellets out to them. We saw zebras, buffalo, giraffe, emus, ostriches, several species of deer, elk and many more! The drive thru was great!! Then we went on the walk about and saw the smaller creatures. Out favorite there was the lemurs! Once done we hit the souvenir shop where our great granddaughter got her stuffed giraffe. We very much enjoyed our visit and will return in the future!

So much fun! My 2 year old loved feeding the animals. I’d definitely recommend renting a van, the animals are all up on the vehicles and putting their heads in. Get more than 2 bags of food if you can bc if you’re like my family you will run through it.. Which we got 4 bags and that was perfect. I can say, they fill the bags up with food over the top so you get your moneys worth. It’s a very beautiful place and I will be coming back again since we enjoyed it so much.

We had a great time!!! We took this road trip, that included a family of 16, to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. We contemplated renting a safari van but were able to time purchasing tickets, eating lunch, and a bathroom break perfectly, as the bus was pulling up just as we finished. Our tour guide was Jack amd he was an absolute joy. We all enjoyed interactions with the animals. Tickets and food for a party this size was costly but the pictures and memories are priceless. Overall, this was a great experience!!!

We have been visiting this park for nearly 20 years. We have always loved every adventure and I got to take my own son to experience it. He LOVED IT!! He’s 2, so if you have kids around that age don’t be scared. The cars you rent can be pretty hot, so pack a mini fan if you need too.
The only complaint we had which was almost inevitable due to the animals and heat were the flies in the food court. Staff was nice and friendly. They did sustain some damage that they are still repairing from the tornadoes earlier this year. I suggest renting your van & buying tickets online! Saves you time.

I'm not normally a as I don't really like the confinement most zoos give animals.
Despite the bad reviews from previous patrons, it seems to my wife and I that this establishment cared well for the animals.
They seemed to be free roaming and happy.
With care, your car is safe making the journey through the animal enclosures but be prepared to wash it when you get home. The animals will slobber when asking for and getting food from you.
Only the lions, for good reason, were caged. A giraffe was penned but well cared for as was a Dromedary (single-hump camel) in a separate pen.
Don't miss the many turtles in the lake near the end of the tour.

Visited here for my daughters birthday because she loves animals. She had the best time of her life. We rented a vehicle so we could travel at our own pace. I would recommend renting a car, very long lines for the buses.
On the vehicles there are bars on the windows so the animals can’t stick their heads all the way in. Do not drive your own car, if it is an option.
It took us about 2 hours to go through the entire ride. We ran out of food by the end because we couldn’t tell any of the animals no. Definitely worth it, if you’ve never been.

We had an amazing time . Great family trip . We all love animals . Up close and personal . We rented a van in glad we did because the animals literally try to stick their whole face and head in the vehicle. The rental vans have bars which stops them from doing so . If you take your own car their whole face and head is in your face lol. It was still amazing we pet animals that would see on tv. Amazing worth 1 hr and 45 min drive .
Customer service and staff were amazing as well.

This place was amazing! There are so many animals. I would not recommend using your own car some animals did jump up. But we had a fantastic time. There even a walkabout to see other animals. I highly recommend. One suggestion, if there were signs or a book with information about each animal we could learn about each of them too.

So we haven't visited in over a decade, due to everything from financial reasons to family tragedy. We were NOT disappointed! This is the most fun my family's had that I can remember. Feeding all the various animals was a lifetime experience, especially for our two girls. If interested they sell food and snacks on site, but we found it much easier to bring our own picnic and eat at outside tables provided. All the staff were friendly and answered all my children's million animal questions LOL. We can't recommend this place highly enough, thank you all so much! Come take a walk on the wild side!

We had a great time here! We went early on a Saturday in February, so the rental vans weren’t overbooked (yet). The vans are not clean, but I say that to make you think twice before using your own vehicle through the park. Some of the animals spit and jump on the vehicles, so I would highly recommend the tour bus or rental vehicle. The animal feed is worth the purchase! I’ve been to some safari’s where the animals don’t really engage or eat the food, but all of these animals were very happy to see the snacks. Watch out for the biters and get A LOT of food! Especially if you have kids because they don’t always grasp the concept of waiting, so my son was just tossing food out the windows and ran out of food close to 3/4 of the way through. It would have been sooner but we had a few people in our van that purchased a bag of feed. They have porta potty’s outside but there are clean restrooms inside. We didn’t try any of the people food. The walk about area was cool, not as “exciting” but a lot of the animals were out which was cool. Some of them looked kinda sad, but all you can hope is that they are well cared for. Read their FAQS, it was helpful for us. The kids and adults had a wonderful time on the trip!

Me & my family had a wonderful time. My kids are 4 & 2 and they really enjoyed themselves. I would caution to really monitor the food in the beginning. Because you can run out fast if it’s not portioned out correctly. The landscape was beautiful & you can tell they actually take care of the animals.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that the vans they allow you to rent are raggedy, nothing works on the inside & they are down right nasty. There are no windows so when it rains it gets wet. Someone should be in charge of atleast attempting to clean the vans.

This was mine and my momma's second time coming here but this time there was 8 of us. We had a blast especially doing the drive thru part. We rented the big van and the animals are so funny. My 6 year old niece was with us and she loved it. We drove almost three hours but just the drive thru part was worth it. Getting to feed those animals and watching them all run up to you is awesome. We loved the little piggies running all over the place. We will definitely come back!!
Picnic sites, miles of trails & campgrounds alongside deep, multi-colored canyons.
Great place for something vastly different on the east coast. The colors are wonderful, the trails very interesting. Water flows lightly along the paths across red clay, so take shoes you can get dirty or that will clean easily. Great view easily across the canyons and from the trails below looking up at the canyons. That take a bit more work. Not bad, but it is a bit steep. If you are in good shape it's a breeze, if not, take your time coming back up. With the water in the trail and the reflections, when the sun comes out it's like a convection oven. But the sun really makes the different soil types pop. Wonderful place, highly recommended.

Spent a fantastic day here, rather busy but parking was easy to find. Hiked about five miles about two of which my partner and I took turns carrying my kiddo. The trails are suitable for kids about four and up, you will be sore the next day if you're not in peak shape. We loved it and will probably return. It was definitely worth the 2.5hr drive. Also, bring waterproof shoes, it's wet on the canyon floor.

Best place to hike with an experience of walking trails of a grand canyon. Beautiful landscape and nature to enjoy with pets. Wear comfy outfits with hiking boots as it's gonna be a little steep while hiking. Load up with snacks and drinks and if you don't you can buy it from the visitor's center. A $5.00 parking fee is all it takes to visit this grand canyon.

We visited this park in late September of 2023 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! What a beautiful place. We took the advice from another review and hiked down into the canyon first, then hiked the rim back to around to the parking lot. It was probably around 5-6 miles total, and totally worth it. Bring water, take your time, pick the right time of day, wear good hikers. It was a very warm and clear day. The views were amazing. We saw a rattlesnake sunning himself just off the trail while on the rim trail.
Would come again if passing through the area.

We really enjoyed our adventure at Providence Canyon State Park. We camped at Florence Marina State Park because Providence Canyon does not have a campground. It is very easy hiking. If you are limited on time, be sure to see canyons 4 and 5. We visited 8 of the nine canyons. To see our adventures, subscribe to SIMPLE LIFE BIG ADVENTURES on YouTube.

When we arrived at the Visitor Center, there was plenty of parking available. Inside the Visitor Center, you can pickup a free map of the hiking trails. There were beautiful views looking down on the canyons from the Canyon Loop (White Blaze) Trail. We also hiked down into the canyons (to the creek bed) to explore the nine canyons. (We were glad we wore our hiking shoes) We thought canyon #5 was the most spectacular. While we were staying at Florence Marina State Park, we visited the park twice to hike all the trails. The $5.00 entry fee was a small price to pay to experience the unique scenic beauty of the canyons.

Great spot to bring a picnic and walk around trails. They have Several trails to choose from with mileage marked so you know what you are getting into.
I do recommend bringing water however they do have a shop located at the top of the canyon/entrance that you can purchase drinks, ice-cream, light snacks and souvenirs. We brought our own supplies but we did pop in to see what they had to offer.
Bathrooms need work! They were awful but mainly because the general public doesn't believe in flushing the toilets anymore? Well that was the case for the 2 women that were in the stalls before us. So gross!
Other than that, views were beautiful and we had a very successful trip and experience.
One last tip... be sure to check the weather before heading out... it got pretty hot while we were there (hence bring lots of water) so I personally wouldn't try to hike the trails in summer. Try it out when it's still cooler outside. It'll have the makings of a better trip!

This place has always been very special to me. As a child, and now as an adult. The trails are fun, and the sights in the Fall are amazing! Definitely worth a visit.
There are different trails. One is very easy around the top, and has great views. But the one that runs into the Canyon is the most fun.
This is a great place for a date, solo hike, or family fun for all ages. Like I said, as a kid it was one of my favorite places! Our Boy Scout troop went more than once.
Support your national parks! It's inexpensive fun, and can create memories that last forever. Looks like they are remodeling as of November 2022, since much of the visitors office was taped off.

Nice family experience and the hike is not a hard one, down or up. Wheelchairs won't make it as the trail is unpaved, but they could view it from the top, where there is multiple lookouts. There is a light stream below, so your shoes will get some mud on them, but its not bad. For best photo ops the bottom of the canyon is best as tree growth is slowly covering the views up high that you see online. There is a nice gift shop, 1800s church and cool 1800s cemetery.

It has beautiful scenery but I think some of the trees need clearing so you can see more of the Canyon. It was neat to see the old old cars during our hike. The canyon floor is always wet so be sure and wear appropriate shoes. They have a small store where you can get drinks, ice cream snacks, plus purchase shirts and few camping supplies. They share info on trails and have maps available.

After many years of talking about it, we finally made our way to Providence Canyon State Park early one Sunday morning from South Atlanta. The drive will take you about 2 1/2 hours but we arrived around 10:00 AM.
At this time there was ample parking through the main entrance. The welcome center is huge well stocked and has toys, shirts, clothes, and even food and other camping supplies. They were an awful lot of people here for this early. However, it quadrupled by noon. After we had finished our hike, which I will cover in just a moment, there were so many people here that they were lining the roadway into the entrance almost a quarter of a mile long. *** get here, early!!***
we took the three and four trail directly outside the welcome center, which is a quarter-mile downhill hike, and then you were in the riverbed of the canyon. It is a beautiful and incredibly unique hike. I highly recommend the section it is unlike anything else in the state park system. There are still a lot of people here, which is fine, but it twists and turns so often no one is in a shot all the time.
There are a lot of trails in back country camping, which we did not do but the trail system seems to be pretty decent overall.
We are coming back here to do some car camping in the fall or winter and I will update my review then. Highly recommend

Loved it. This Georgia state park was such an unexpected surprise. Unusual rock formations in beautiful colors throughout this small gorge. Trails are rough and bottom is wet so wear appropriate shoes. Breathtaking views. Loved it.

You have to put in a bit of an effort to get to this place, but it is well worth it. Just $5 parking fee and a nice visitor center with good souvenirs, fairly clean restrooms. There’s a short, approximately 3 mile hike that goes around the rim of the canyon and yes, it is a canyon!!! I was absolutely amazed at how much the geological formations of clay, sand, etc. replicate almost exactly what you would see out west in Utah, similar places. Just on a much much much much much smaller scale haha.
The trails are well marked and good portion of the loop is shady. The rest is out, in open public areas where you can look down in between cleared vegetation and see down into the canyon. The canyon walk itself is a bunch of fun, you can walk around barefoot if you like, especially in hot weather. The floor is always a bit wet, only an inch or two deep. And it’s just clay no rocks, sticks, etc. The canyon walls themselves are in somewhat constant state of erosion therefore not allowed to touch climb etc. but you can get close enough to take really good pictures. There are approximately nine different walkways at the bottom before you head up to go around the room. There is also if you’re in the mood a longer backcountry loop where you could spend all day hiking, and then camp at one of the several primitive spots. All in all a great place to kill an entire day, or at least half of one if you’re in a rush, highly recommended!

Beautiful canyon! We did the Canyons 3-4 hike + part of an overlook with our 6 year old & dog. Very doable pace, fun to explore. Was quite wet (small streams of water on the ground from runoff), which can be helpful to prepare for. Pet friendly. Rangers were very nice. Had a great experience!

Great place for a family outing. There is a play park and picnic area with good restroom facilities. Parking can get filled up on holiday weekends. The hike into and through the canyons is suitable for children and dogs. The views from the rim and in the canyons are beautiful and something you would expect to see in Utah or Arizona.

It’s about 2.5 hrs from Atlanta. This state park is good for hiking. There are two loops, 7 miles(4 hours hike) and 2.5 miles (I.5 hours). Be sure to bring plenty of bottles water. It gets hot really quickly. If you gonna do big loop, they suggest bring some food a long with you too. You will need waterproof hiking shoes, because there were many sections that you can’t avoid water. The landscape is beautiful. The place can use more signs to indicate canyon number and directions. Would love to have EV chargers available at the parking since you will spend more than an hour there anyway.

I saw this place online and had to visit. It's about 2 hours south of Atlanta. It's a beautiful, low traffic drive down. Not much in the area, so get gas when you pass a station. We stopped at the Gas n Go, which was great. Bring food, not much in the park or nearby. $5 fee per vehicle. Hike down the canyon wasn't bad, mostly shaded and not too steep. Trails at the bottom are nice, clean, easy to navigate. Views from the bottom are not great. Much better view from the picnic area at the top. Hike back out could be difficult for little kids or older individuals.
Worth the trip at least once. Wait for a nice fall or dry spring day.

This was an amazing trip. Well worth the travel to get here. We hiked all 9 canyon areas and each one was better than the last. The trail is very well marked but the canyon path was wet and sandy so be aware your shoes will get wet. It's an amazing landscape. Also, rattlesnake.

It was a beautiful place to hike. But if you have heart problems it maybe be hard for you to go up the hill. Wear a comfortable shoes which I use my water shoes but It was comfortable for me and my kids. Probably recommend on going early in the morning as it gets hot and busy.
There’s a playground and picnic area also grill but probably you’ll need a charcoal and lighter. My kids enjoyed the hike like they also do. Ages 4 & 3 Bring water and stay hydrated.

Great park with a couple of trails. It was one of 3 miles and the 2nd one of 7 miles total.
Also, there are 8 or 9 canyons that you can walk around and explore. Take a lot of pics and enjoy the day.
There is a kids' park as well with playgrounds, grills, public restrooms, etc.
The parking fee is 5 bucks per car

We spent 2 nights at Pioneer campsite #2. Since it was just myself and my husband we had the option of primitive camping or pioneer site 1 or 2.
In my opinion site 2 was the best of our options. It was 20 degrees one night and car vs primitive camping was so much better for the gear we have. Site 2 is the last site on the little side road that contains sites 1&2 and is on a plateau surrounded by forest.
The visitor center and the park at large is well maintained with extremely friendly staff. Visiting in the winter gave us the opportunity to enjoy hiking and exploring without concern for a lot of crowds.
My advice for the pioneer sites is to be aware that there's absolutely no water. I'm used to some sort of water for dishes and this is really closer to primitive camping. Second, the drop toilet smells extremely bad. I've used plenty of these and this one is in my top 2 of worst smelling! Thank God it was just me and my husband because I couldn't close the door! Aside from this it was a wonderful trip and well worth the visit.

It was well worth the 3.5-hour drive to see this beautiful location! The pictures truly don't give it justice! We took the outer loop but plan to go back to walk down on the lower trails! Parking can be a challenge due to the popularity of this park. We went at the end of February on a 65-degree day. We decided we would not come back during the heat of summer, thinking it would be miserable. Little Grand Canyon is certainly a fitting name for this gorgeous place!
Heather Maguire — Google review
Beautiful area for short day hiking. There are nine canyons to visit that are full of red, purple, pink, and orange sandy hues. The trail into the canyons begins at the visitor center. There are approximately 2 miles of trails in the canyons and an additional 2 miles to take the white trail loop along the rim (which is connected to the canyon trails). However, I ended up walking around 6 miles in my exploration of the canyons and the white loop trail. Plan to visit for a couple of hours so that you can see all of the canyons from below and above. Wear waterproof shoes or hiking boots. I visited in January and there was no way to avoid walking in sandy water. The park was significantly busier than I expected. The trails were full of people and the parking lot near the visitors center was completely full. Lastly, the price for parking is $5 and you can pay cash at the entrance or with card at the visitor’s center.
Callaway Resort & Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia is a charming destination with vast gardens, two golf courses, and multiple dining venues. The area also serves as the gateway to F.D. Roosevelt State Park and offers small-town Southern charm with quaint shops and historical significance. Visitors can rent bikes to explore the park's attractions or relax by the lake at Robin Beach. The resort also features a zip line adventure, a Birds of Prey show, and a Mountain Top Pool for sunset views.
The best place to visit and enjoy the Amazing tropical butterflies flying all around you. Beautiful trees, and plants in the room really add to a breath taking experience. A place to watch the different kinds of butterflies and learn all about them at the Day Butterfly Center.
Tons of interesting, old trees. Great walking and biking paths, and a super cool garden and tons of parking inside the park and you can feel the life all around you, very peaceful.
Great family place, lots to do.But there is so much more, like the beach, pool, golf, restaurants.
The Fantasy in Lights Christmas light show. It is a 7 mile journey through the wooded areas of Calloway. Each area has its own theme and soundtrack ,So much to see and the Christmas Village was so pretty .
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly .

First time visit to Callaway Gardens and it did not disappoint. The birds of prey experience was awesome. The birds literally fly right past your head as the handlers talk about each bird. The butterfly conservatory was also very cool. Butterflies flying around you at all times, beautiful flowers and even aquatic turtles swimming around. We decided to buy a season pass. The woman that helped us at the visitor center was very nice, very helpful and very friendly. She explained all of the features of the park, explained all of the benefits of the season pass and made sure to let us know of the discounts we would receive inside the park with having that season pass. We will definitely be taking advantage of the pass over the next 12 months.

We've been coming to Callaway since 1981! We love the cottages and the Summer Family Adventure. What a wonderful tradition to carry on with my kid! Robin Lake has a nice beach with cabanas or umbrellas to rent. There's a pavilion with food and drink options. The Butterfly Center is always breathtaking! Not to mention the Birds of Prey show at the Discovery Center soars above the rest!

It's beautiful but a little pricey. For three adults and a 3-year-old it cost us basically $80 with a military discount. The butterfly exhibit we saw three butterflies LOL and they say that's because the sun was coming through the glass roof, I'm not sure. Kind of bummed out at that. we saw a turtle though!

I cannot say enough good things about Callaway Gardens! It's one of my favorite spots to spend the day. They offer so many fun attractions from Robin lake for swimming, pedal boats, bike rentals and plenty of bike trails. Birds of prey show is so entertaining. The butterfly center is so beautiful. The gardens are maintained so beautifully. If you're near by, it's definitely worth stopping in and spending the day.

Hands down, the best customer service experience we've had in YEARS! The entire staff from the valet, front desk, grounds keepers, restaurant servers, and cleaning staff... Everyone was incredibly social and friendly! Our room was modern, bright, and gorgeous! The breakfast in the dining room was phenomenal! My husband was a major fan of the waffles and hasn't stopped talking about them, even weeks after our stay! And the Butterfly exhibit was like walking into another world. Our ONLY complaint was that the website and all of their marketing boasts about all the lakes and all the fishing you can do but we were told at EVERY lake that it was "private property and no fishing was allowed". We were only allowed to fish out of the lake next to the beach. One area, about 25 yards of shoreline. That's it. We caught two fish in three days of fishing. But the scenery and the entire experience was still 1000% worth it! We will definitely be back but we'll probably leave the fishing gear at home.

A beautiful place year round. Great for families, dates, hiking, biking, the whole deal. Butterfly pavilion is beautiful and beach is a lot of fun. The only complaint is the putt putt has seen better days. Needs an update or honestly removal for a playground extension on my opinion..
Have never personally stayed in the on-site lodging so can't say much in that area.
Bottom line, I highly recommend.

I had never been to the Callaway Resort and decided to celebrate my birthday there this weekend. We stayed at the lodge in a very spacious room. The resort far exceeded our expectations! From the live band on the beach, to the gorgeous lakes, the putt-putt golf course, antique car show, hot air balloons, butterfly pavilion, ‘bird of prey’ show, and the spectacular nightly fireworks…this resort did not disappoint! We are already planning to bring the entire family to the Xmas light display this fall. Callaway is A++

I would love to go again to the pumpkins too. I definitely recommend if you have the time to go.

Always a great time with the family! We saw the raptor show, which was nice despite it having to end early due to wild raptors (osprey) in the vicinity. The butterfly house is a really fun experience for kids and adults. The buffet at the Lodge was varied and tasty. There are also lots of nice trails for walking or biking.

Callaway Gardens is a pretty well-kept secret day trip destination a little more than an hour away from Atlanta. Springtime visits are glorious, with more varieties of azaleas in bloom from early March through late May than can be counted. There is also an incredible native wildflower trail that allows up close and personal experiences with numerous varieties and another walking trail devoted to a stunning collection of mature rhododendrons. Numerous lakes, trails, golf courses, and scenic drives are also found within the gardens. My favorite stop within the gardens is the Ida Cason Callaway Chapel - a jewel of a chapel with gorgeous stained glass windows built beside another of the numerous lakes. Other highlights are the Butterfly Center and the Discovery Center. The Lodge and Spa at Callaway has been thoughtfully placed within a wooded setting and has the potential to be a lovely and luxurious getaway. There are some kinks to be worked out for full potential to be reached there. The gardens are so worth the drive from Atlanta, especially in springtime.

Fantasy In Lights is outstanding! The huge sea of lights and mega-tree and the tunnel at the end made our visit enchanting. The lights deserve a 5-star review, but I'm knocking the overall review to a 4 due to the before and after show experience.
Before being allowed to drive through, vehicles are staged in groups out in a grassy field. The access to this area was a bit "rugged" by the time we went last week since it was raining and there was insufficient gravel in the right places to make the drive easy. I have a sedan that bottomed-out a few times on the rough road.
The FIL experience is great, with the roads throughout the Gardens being well paved.
When it came to leaving, we didn't need to go see the activities at the beach, so we followed the blinking Exit sign rather than the Parking sign. What a mistake! We were directed onto another muddy, rutted road over the fields leading to the exit. I almost didn't make it out as I got a little stuck at the end. My car was a filthy mess with mud caked in the wheel wells and along the doors. My advice to others is that you should follow the Parking signs (which keep you on the paved road) and then exit the parking lot directly to the ext.

We stayed in the lodge in a very nice room but could hear everything in the room next door, including their alarm clock at 5:15 am. The service is outstanding, particularly in the Piedmont dining room. We had breakfast there both days, good food and great people. The butterfly center is amazing! If you want to rent a golf cart to tour the grounds an online reservation is required. It was going to cost us $300 for a 4-seater so we drove our car instead. The gardens and the grounds in general are awesome!

God bless Yall keep up the amazing work!! There is an older distinguished gentleman working at the butterfly exhibit. He’s in my last picture with the green polo. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. He’s been there for 16 years and it’s clearly shows he loves where he’s at. Thank you for such and amazing experience. I had one questionable experience. When loading for the trolley my 80 yr old granny could have been let through the exit instead of making her walk around. She was clearly disabled and struggled. Went during October and December. I definitely by far recommend going in October. If you are someone who wants to have a magical date or outing with your family the fall season is the best time to go.
Aside from the weather being much more pleasant, the decorations felt much more exciting. It had me and my partner take a second loop around! The food trucks weren’t anything to write home about but the atmosphere definitely will give you those cozy fall vibes.
The corn maze in the dark is like a party, the trolley ride around the lake is nostalgic and the little plaza outside of the corn maze with the live music, overhead lights, games, food and gift shop was something we DIDNT get in December and missed ): the lights during October beat out the Fantasy Lights by a long shot and the gift shop theme is a fall lovers dream. I would recommend this over the December tickets for sure,

If you're looking to play golf here I suggest trying to find somewhere else. Both golf courses are in horrid shape. The greens have very scarce grass and multiple ones are covered with at least 50% sand. Many of the tee boxes are no better. Some bunkers have so much sand that you sink to your ankles whereas others have very little and you can see the liner underneath.
I had not played the mountain course in months and had heard they had a new greenskeeper so I was hopeful to see some better conditioning happening. This is not the case. I can't believe this place used to be a tour destination in the late '90s and early 2000s. Not sure what has happened or is happening but it's going to take a lot of time and effort to get this place looking somewhat better for play. Certainly not worth the $80 green fee they are commanding. I'd say it's no better than a $30 golf course as it sits right now.

Right now it’s awful
Rude employees
Everything tore apart and destroyed
We bought annual passes and they closed butterfly center finally after 2 months reopened it and we liked it better before
Now they tore down restrooms and area where we’ve spent MANY years and they’re making a mess….
More catering to alcohol etc than families
We went to see the symphony and were treated horribly…
Spent over $300.00 dollars
I think it might be time to go elsewhere
I promise to tell everyone of our experience!
On the good side …
The Orchestra was GREAT!

Stop by the visitors center, the staff and Rangers are extremely helpful and friendly. The main campground is also very good. Clean comfort stations and big, spread out campsites. Very well maintained.

FDR State Park- we hiked the Pine Mt. Trail (out and back) to Cascade Falls. This was a beautiful hike! My husband and I went with our teenagers. We spent about 3 hrs, hiked 4.5 miles, took a picnic lunch with us. You cross the water over stepping stones quite a few times through this hike. We wore waterproof hiking boots, so we never got wet. They have bridges and wooden planks you walk along in certain areas of the hike. It was fun and pretty easy to cross. They have a well established trail along the way. There are a few spots where the ascent can be tiring, but they have some benches along the way, which is really nice. The waterfall at the end of the hike is beautiful and relaxing. Great hike! There was a 720 ft ascent total I tracked during this hike, and I burned 800 cals! Good workout :) Our family enjoyed this hike. We will definitely be coming back and may check out the back trails campsites they have here next time.
Just FYI there are no bathrooms here at all, just a map, a few picnic tables and a trash can area in the parking lot.

This is definitely on the repeat list. A beautifully layer out park with all the perks. We went for a hike around and visited the small lake, but the scenery is even more spectacular if you get above and view it. Also took a tour of The Little White House, FDRs vacation, home, and where he passed. Also went to the Sanatorium that he had improved and renovated to help his polio. It was open to the public and is fed by a natural spring loaded with minerals and is a warm 80 is degrees.

Loved our cabin stay at FDR State Park over New Year's. Cabin was a mix of original 1930's with updated kitchen and bath. Nice, comfy bed, Direct TV, big fireplace, complete with linens, full size frig and oven. Lots of trails. Staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely will return.

Beautiful! That is the best word to describe this place. The campgrounds are excellent, the bathouses are always clean, the hiking is amazing, the rangers and staff are friendly and helpful, and the overall experience is one in a million

This is a very cute park. It’s very quaint. We loved the small lake that you can fish on with the cottages and camping right next to it. The visitor center building was really cute and there were amazing views just right there by it. The liberty pool wasn’t open yet, so we didn’t get to swim. We only stopped in for awhile and didn’t get to hike any. I was very disappointed that they didn’t have trail maps for you. Every single park I’ve been to has had free trail maps and maps of the park. They told me I had to buy one.

We did the Cascade Falls hike in and back out !! So pretty ! About 2 mile hike in and than we hiked it back out. Stopped at the visitor center to get the details and directions to the parking area. Also drive thru the park a bit to stop at some of the scenic stops. Such a gorgeous park can’t wait to go back !

This is one of my favorite parks! We come here to hike the trails in particular. The Pine Mountain trail runs for 23 miles through the park. The trails are well maintained, have a lot of elevation changes, beautiful scenery and amazing views. We especially enjoy the hike to Cascade Falls. I definitely recommend this park if you love the outdoors!

This is a nice quiet campground. The sites are close together, but the way they arranged does give you some privacy. We were in the 200 area, so we entered through the back gate and set up first, then drove the incline to check in. The park is full of hiking trails. A visit to Dowdell's Knob and the Little Whitehouse is a must.

FANTASTIC! I rented a cottage for a two day stay at FDRoosevelt State Park and found it to one of the most relaxing trips I can remember with the family. The park office is easy to find and plenty of information is available online. The best way to find anything out however is by calling the park office. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and will answer any questions you have.

Beautiful, clean, and quiet campground! The park is loaded with history. I only gave 4 stars because even with a filter on my water supply, I could still taste rust in the water when I showered or brushed my teeth. It’s a minor thing and definitely will not prevent me from coming back here again in the future! Would recommend visiting this state park!

We brought out RV and had a great time. The park is nice, the play grounds are wonderful, the bathrooms are very clean, camp host was very helpful. The only bad things was the camp store/trading post was closed the entire stay and the directions to the visitors center/check in are not correct so it has yoylu wondering around a bit, which isnt easly in a 40ft motorhome. Overall a great experience.

The state park has so much to offer, hiking, camping, fishing, and swimming. Along with the Roosevelt White House. You're also right on the back door of Callaway Gardens and can pick up a quick 18 holes of golf if you want or go look at the butterflies. Swimming in the Liberty Bell pool was absolutely incredible. I stayed at the campground and saw a lot of Wildlife but it was some great sites and not a lot of noise. I plan to be back.

Excellent park, great experience with beautiful views. If you’re into geocaching this is a great place for that. There are several regular geocaches with many goodies inside. We even came across a fairy house in the tree. It had some goodies inside and we were able to unload a good bit of our extra geocache swag inside for the kiddos to enjoy.

My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway to celebrate our son's 11th birthday. We love to camp as a family and we're looking for a new spots to pitch our tent for a few days. We found FD Roosevelt State Park in pine mountain Georgia and absolutely fell in love! It's nestled at the foot of the mountain with plenty of hiking trails for all levels. Beautiful Delano lake is situated on the property and great for kayaking, paddle boating, and fishing.
As far as the camping goes...
First and foremost, when I'm camping I need clean bathrooms. The bathrooms were exquisite and maintained throughout the day. So if you're like me and that's important, you're good to go.
We stayed in a standard campsite and it was outfitted with water, electricity, a large fire pit with a grill, picnic table, and a camping pad that was perfect whether you have a tent or a RV.
There was plenty of room to hang our hammocks and stare off into the forest. There is of course wildlife but mostly squirrels around the campsites.
This park is also dog friendly which was great for us because we brought along our little Chihuahua mix.
My favorite part, quiet. The campsites are spaced out enough where if you're looking for a quiet serene getaway you can definitely find it here. We also took a little bit of a tour around and noticed that there are some pioneer campsites that are back in the woods. Well they need a little TLC when she first get there they look like a great option if you're on a budget.
Overall, great stay! We will definitely be back soon and hopefully in the summer so that we can enjoy their large Liberty Bell pool.
Key point, Callaway gardens is just around the corner. If you were interested in visiting there this is a great way to stay on a budget and get to enjoy the gardens as well!

Beautiful park. We love the scenery. We camped there for a weekend and our site was lake front. Full hook ups, spacious and they have a picnic table and fire ring. Is dog friendly. Have nice bathrooms and showers available and they were clean. I saw a lot of primitive campers here too and the sites for the tents are huge I really liked them. Near this park there is a lot of things to do. We visited the Liberty bell pool with the kids, which is a public pool that you need to pay to use it, but it’s really nice. We also went to the Little White House museum -spectacular history- and we saw the fishes near by this museum. We ate at the little downtown in a small Jamaican restaurant, we really enjoyed it here.
FDR's historic home features a theater & stagecoach display, plus neighboring therapeutic springs.
Beautiful piece of history- they have an amazing flag display and well marked decor that explains everything your looking at. Take it in and enjoy the movie they offer inside that gives you a little backstore -then go explore and learn and soak it all in.

Me and my family were passing through Warm Springs, Ga because we were coming for the parade and wanted to see what other attractions there were to get into since we came from 40 minutes away! What a great historical attraction! We learned so much about FDR and the best part is that the whole trip was unexpected. The staff was so nice and the museum was a pretty decent size surprisingly! Would be nice way to spend a day with the family for anyone! 😊

I highly recommend the museum. The FDR exhibits and structures are year round, however the park service staff will have a smaller seasonal display as well. On years past we came for the Tuskegee airmen display and movie. This time its the military chaplains. And it's outstanding! I highly recommend the museum and the surrounding trails too!

There are so many wonderful things to say but not enough time and space to do so. I've been here once as a child, second as a teenager and third as a 36 year old mother of 3. My oldest boy, 17 really enjoys history and wanted to go again today. Everything from the information, sights to see and articles to read or listen to, to the tour guides, especially Mrs. Angela. Then, at the end we visit the gift shop, which is fun in itself as well as very fair priced! And right before we leave we do the famous penny press and this time we picked Fala the dog! To anyone that enjoys this type of thing, I urge you to see this place at least once. It's truly remarkable.

This was an awesome tour and well maintained historic site. You get to walk through FDR's Little White House and see where he died and lived when he was away from the White House. There is also access to the staff quarters and you can walk along a side walk which displays all the state rocks and flags. Staff I encountered along the way went over the history of the site and pointed out items along the way that would be of interest. The museum houses several of FDR's cars, canes, household and presidential items, etc.
The site is handicap accessible and they have electric scooters and wheel chairs onsite. Service Dogs are permitted entry, but they do ask you the purpose for their support and oral verification they have been trained by service dog agency or trainer.
If you're a vet you'll need your VA card to get a veteran's discounted entry.
There is a gift shop up front. If you love Tilley's Enduro hats you will find them here for sale.

It was surprisingly more than expected. Entering the museum offers a look back in time, with rich history and context into the nation's longest serving president. The grounds are well manicured and each cottage further elvoves the FDR story and life. Enjoy with family generations of all ages - it's sure to entertain, educate, intrigue and amaze. See if you can find the marine sentry posts - that must have been an interesting job.

I have visited Warm Springs/Pine Mountain area many times and have never toured the Little White House. You don’t even need to be a fan of history or FDR to enjoy this site. It is done with excellence and they original house is maintained perfectly. You will want 2 hours to view this and the historic pools (which are at another location). You can do the museum and house in less than an hour if it’s not busy and you don’t read everything.

Very good experience. We was driving back home and decided to stop here for a break from driving. Everything was so clean and kept up well. It was very educational and all the employees were very attentive and welcoming. We was able to watch about a 15 minute film as well. My favorite walkthrough was the different houses and how they were kept from that time era. I also enjoyed seeing the vehicles and reading up on the chaplains that served in the military and their stories. I would bring my children back to have a walkthrough one day.
There is also a historic pool museum that had a lot of meaning. It was a short drive from the Little White House Museum. Overall, it was a very nice experience and a great place to stop for a break after a long drive.

One of the nicer state parks that I’ve traveled to over the last year. Every single staff member was completely unbelievable, in the amount of knowledge that they knew.
Parking was incredibly plentiful and we arrived about 30 minutes after opening with not a single person in the parking lot.
The staff for check in with Excellence. The walking tour cost $20 in last about an hour and a half. We did not do this walking tour.
The flags of the states are fantastic if you’re a rock nerve. I really did enjoy it.
The staff needs to be uploaded for how amazing they were. No complaints would definitely go back. Learned more about the president in one hour than I ever did in school.

Wow! What a gem. We had a phenomenal tour with Tony, who is a walking FDR encyclopedia (for those of you who remember encyclopedias). I highly recommend a guided tour! What a rare opportunity to see original artifacts in their original setting. This tour was every bit as good as touring a presidential library. Please take a few extra moments to see the Warm Springs Pool area as well. The pools are about to undergo refurbishment, but a short stop at the pools after touring the museum and Little White House is still worth it.

Visited the Little White House last week. I had heard about this place over the years from family and teachers. There was a short, but informative video to watch. I enjoyed the park ranger, who talked about the location and how much this place and its people, influenced FDR. Once we got to the house, the ranger there didn’t have anything to say about anything. He did lecture me about my gum. There were no signs, and no other rangers said anything, as I toured the museum. They did, however, add bits of information and stories related to FDR, which added another layer to the limited museum. I loved our visit here and learning about the area and our President who loved this place.

A sobering and emotional heart-wrenching display of human cruelty toward POWs of past wars. Former Senator and POW, John McCain, was mentioned a number of times. The fact that former President Trump called John McCain a "loser" because he was a POW greatly diminishes all of the souls that are mentioned in this museum. SAD.

Very nice museum. Covers the history of POW's throughout all of the US wars. All of the water features were turned off the day we visited.

Pleasantly surprised at how well the museum was done and the grounds upkeep. The short film was worth it although it is quite depressing. The only negative was that some of the exhibits were too dark to see. I understand that it was meant to create a mood, but it was a little frustrating not to be able to read things. All in all, very impressed

We have been a couple of times. It's such an incredible but sad museum. Highly recommend taking the time to read everything and be humbled by what we as humans have endured. Bless America, and we shall never forget those that served and continue to serve. The grounds are beautiful and can take a little bit of time to walk, so come with plenty of time to walk around or drive around as both can be done with parking throughout some of the drive to get down and read.

With the location at the Andersonville POW camp, this is a solemn place. The museum is well put together and provides amazing insight into the trials of Americans that have been POWs throughout the history of our country. Add it to your itinerary if anywhere close.

Something everyone should see. What the minute Anderson lived through and died in is a true tale of suffering for the freedom of others.
If your soldier this should be required, and if you have a kid who wants to go into the military they need to see this as well to understand the seriousness of what they are about to undertake

Visiting the National Prisoner of War Museum was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled within the serene grounds of the Andersonville National Historic Site, this museum offers a poignant and educational journey through the experiences of American prisoners of war throughout history.
The museum's exhibits are meticulously curated, providing a comprehensive look at the hardships and sacrifices endured by POWs, from the American Revolution to the present day. Walking through the galleries, I was deeply moved by the personal stories, artifacts, and interactive displays that shed light on the resilience and courage of these individuals.
One of the highlights of my visit was the solemnity of the National Prisoner of War Memorial, a striking tribute to the thousands of American servicemen and women who have been held captive during times of conflict. The serene surroundings and reflective atmosphere made for a truly moving experience.
Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the National Prisoner of War Museum for anyone interested in learning more about this often-overlooked aspect of American history. It's a sobering reminder of the sacrifices made by those who have served our country and a testament to the enduring spirit of the human soul.
Sizable roadside store & cafe featuring fresh peaches & pecans, plus buffet-style Southern fare.
It's strawberry season currently. Come pick your own fresh berries!! Great place to check out if you are in the area. Playground for the kids, a place to buy food or walk around the shop for trinkets. Worth the trip!

This is a great destination for both locals and travelers alike! Clean facilities, quality products, welcoming atmosphere, and great service from the friendly staff.
The Cafe serves delicious food and sweet desserts. It's the perfect place to pick up fresh peaches, boiled peanuts, or other farm-fresh goods produced by locals. You'll also find plenty of snacks to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings, including homemade fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, ice cream, and more.
If you're from out of town, you'll find plenty of souvenirs in the gift shop to remember your visit to Middle Georgia by. And if your four-legged family members are vacationing with you, they are welcome inside of the main store area! Those traveling by RV will be happy to know that there's a designated RV section of the parking lot, so a perfect spot to pull off the road for a while, eat, and rest up.
They also have an attached outdoor park and kids playground. If you're just looking for somewhere to relax in the area it's a great spot. My girlfriend and I enjoyed taking pictures around the vintage tractors on display and the wildflower patch.
All in all, it's definitely worth hitting that "Start Drive" button and setting a course towards Lane Southern Orchards!

During a road trip through Georgia, I had to find a place that sold peach products and boy, did this fit the bill! We stopped for lunch, had the pulled pork sandwiches, peach soft serve ice cream and peach cobbler. All were excellent!! I got some fried peach pies, a box of peaches and some peach preserves and peach habanero salsa to go. They have nice seating indoors, but since I was traveling with my dad and his dog, I was grateful that they allowed dogs in the outdoor seating area so we didn’t have to eat in the car. They even had water bowls for pups to drink from. All the kids behind the counters that I interacted with were pleasant and very helpful. Since my dad’s a vet, we got a military discount. I will always stop by Lane southern orchards if I ever find myself in this part of Georgia.

So we we’re excited to try Lanes out since it was on a recommendation from a local. We we’re very disappointed with all our food! My husband ordered pulled pork sandwich with fries. There was about two tablespoons of pork. The French fries were over cooked. The side salad was decent. Ordered a small strawberry ice cream (in season only) it was good.
Then I went in the massive long line! I ordered two Caesar salads for $8.99 each. First they gave me two side salads. I had to ask an employee if they were they correct size, he said definitely not. So I went back to the pick up window and said they were the wrong size. The young girl was friendly and said they would make new ones. So now I wait again.....
As I stood there I watched two orders of food come out. The hush puppies were so dark, they were almost black. Looks like the oil should be changed or they were double dipped.
The grilled cheese was totally burnt black. Unless it was ordered that way, it should not have been served.
The constant massive line could be reduced just by having an ice cream/dessert only line. Or have a runner get the desserts so the cashier can continue with other customers.
We didn’t shop but there is a large gift store.
There is outdoor seating that is pet friendly.
Everyone seemed to enjoy all the rocking chairs outside.
I would have to think about going back for ice cream only, because it’s not worth waiting for 20 minutes or longer in line.
I would not go back for any food. It’s sub par if that and pricey for the portion. Much better food just about anywhere.

Lane's is recognized by both locals and tourists as the go-to establishment for peaches, pecans, and seasonal fruit. In addition, Lane's sells peanut products and locally grown vegetables, along with novelties. Visitors are invited to observe the peach packing process during peach season, a self guided tour kids really enjoy. Lane's sells a variety of its own bakery goods and breads, and serves meals in its diner. Guests are encouraged to relax with homemade peach ice cream in some of the store's many outdoor rockers as children take advantage of some of the outdoor activities geared toward them. Lane's is worth a visit.

The farm itself was quite large, and we had no trouble finding big and shiny strawberries. The price for the strawberries was also reasonable - we were able to pick 2 pounds for about $10. And the ice cream was also priced well at $2.99 for a small cup.
But that's not all - the farmer's market inside the farm had all sorts of peach products, including peach butter, peach jams, and pecan pies, as well as pecan products. It was great to see such a variety of local products available for purchase.
Overall, I had an amazing time at this orchard and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and delicious outing. The strawberries and ice cream were top-notch, and the farmer's market was a great bonus. I can't wait to come back next year and try more of their delicious produce! Thank you to the farm owners and staff for providing such a wonderful experience.
Park ranger was very knowledgeable and very polite.
We enjoyed the educational video before we took our tour of the plantation.
As we toured the plantation you can tell that it is very well taken care of.
My family really enjoyed it.
Highly recommended stopping and seeing this little gem.

My take aways: the family prospered far more after 1. slavery ended, 2. they adopted the steam engine, and 3. diversified their businesses beyond cotton dependence. Facts are stubborn things...and truly liberating and beautiful. Jarrell was a working machine and very intelligent. They imply without admitting outright that he had a child with a slave and sold the son land for a farm. Human resilience is astounding. How little we truly know.

Very nice historical site. Nice visitor's center, gift shop, & clean bathrooms. The visitor's center has a great overview film that explains the site's history & the family's history which was a great start to our self guided walking tour. The walking trail with map gives good information about the buildings and the building plaques completed the information. We met the Park Ranger on our walk & he was very knowledgeable. He walked us through one of the early homes (where Maddie lived until 1950s) and gave me extra information abouy her life that wasn't in the movie. It was very interesting.
The goats & chickens were nice to see. The goats looked fat & happy. The rooster was beautiful & had the run of the place. They didn't pay much attention to us. 😂
My husband likes history so this was a nice stop for both of us.
Be aware that the trail has some steep areas with lose rocks so anyone with walking challenges should be aware.

A real treat that wandered upon by accident.
A great bit of history and the buildings all in place made it easy to imagine what things might have been like so many years ago.
There is a small garden, a few farm animals. Several homes, and buildings that the plantation used for the several types of agricultural businesses they had going on.
The main buildings has a good short film to introduce you, very clean bathrooms and small gift shop. We ate a picnic lunch out front where there are several tables set about under the trees.
You can walk right into a good many of the buildings, get right up on a large collection of farming equipment, steam engines, etc. A rather hands on place.
It is a good bit of walking to see all the grounds and quite a bit of up and down with the slopes, but all in a very natural setting of woods in every direction. There is a creek / or river but we did not get to that point. That area was closed during our visit, but there was still plenty to see.
A very good place to visit if you'd like a glimpse into the past in a very clean and safe setting. A few drinks are available at the gift shop but you'll need to bring your own food if you'd like to do a picnic.

We visited in late December on a Saturday. I think this would be more interesting in the Spring or Summer during a festival day. Still a cool historic stop. We were able to leisurely walk the self-guided trail in about an hour. Not much else to see. Most of the buildings are closed off with limited access to see inside. A brief elementary level description is posted at most of them.

Visiting the Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site was like stepping back in time to a bygone era of Georgia's history. Nestled amidst the tranquil countryside of Juliette, this meticulously preserved plantation offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the Jarrell family and the legacy of Southern agriculture.
The guided tour of the plantation provided invaluable insights into the daily lives of those who lived and worked here. From the original plantation house to the various outbuildings, including the cotton gin, gristmill, and blacksmith shop, each stop on the tour offered a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs faced by the Jarrell family and their enslaved laborers.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to explore the surrounding grounds and nature trails. The serene beauty of the landscape, with its towering pine trees and meandering creeks, provided a peaceful backdrop for reflection and appreciation of the rich natural heritage of the area.
The staff and volunteers at the Jarrell Plantation were knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to preserving the site's history for future generations. Their enthusiasm and commitment to education made the experience truly memorable.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, nature lover, or simply curious about Georgia's past, the Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site offers something for everyone. It's a treasure trove of Southern history and culture that should not be missed.
Tip: Plan to spend a few hours exploring the plantation and surrounding grounds to fully immerse yourself in its rich history and natural beauty. And don't forget to check the schedule for special events and guided tours—they offer even more opportunities to learn and connect with the site's fascinating past.

I went with three friends (all of us are teachers) and 9 of our kids. When we got there, we were able to use the restroom and ask a park employee where we should start our adventure. The two park employees were most helpful and pointed us in the direction to go. We began our journey on the trail that starts behind the visitor's center. Not too long after we started walking, one of the park employees met us along the trail and basically gave us a tour of the grounds. He was so kind and informative. The park was not busy this day and he mentioned that as one of the reasons why he was able to come and give us a guided tour. He even uncovered the well and let the kids take turns cranking the well handle until the bucket reached the bottom. He made a game of this by asking the kids how many cranks on the handle would it take before the bucket reached the bottom. He mentioned that he hadn't lowered the bucket in a while and he was curious to see how much water he would be able to draw from the well. The kids loved this part of our visit! We did some geocaching as well, which was fun! We loved being able to tour the buildings and truth be told, having our own private tour guide made it all the more fun. We picnicked at the tables in front of the visitor center after our guided tour. While we were eating, we discussed how this would definitely be a place we would take our students on a field trip. I know some of the surrounding counties already are familiar with this destination as a field trip, but Newton County is ready to jump on board now! I would highly recommend this park to anyone!

Wow! Went to the county Fair with family and had a blast, we are all at the point we're we Don't do rides but all the other activities we enjoyed, they had the fairgrounds all clean and neat no people running to one another law enforcement was very present. Along with Emt's. Traffic was well thought out and organized smooth in and out, parking was on point. This was my second time to these fairgrounds and it's always been nice and stress free.

The most outstanding experience I've ever had. Definitely an 15/10. Recommended for all age groups. Concerts, roller coasters, concessions, games, and so much more. Coming here with friends is an even better experience. I'd also like to mention a band I heard while there. The band's name is Vocal Trash and they are amazing! The band encourages recycling and reusing materials to help save the planet. They even play with old trash bins and used water bottles!!! Check them out if you have a chance. The fair was a lot of fun but don't take my word for it. Go check it out for yourself!

This is absolutely the very best fair anywhere here in Perry, Georgia. It features free entertainment all over the park with music and comedy acts and many other shows. The park is and has a long history of success and is first class all the way. The park is always in order and very clean. You also feel very safe with security all through the park who are always there to help if needed. The horse and cow arenas are among the best in the nation. It's a great value and fun for the whole family.

Fairgrounds always has things going on. Went for my daughters high school graduation. You would have thought they would have had police officers directing traffic from the interstate all the way into the place but no. So traffic in and out was horrible.
The event itself was fine and definitely needed the room for the amount of graduating students.

I always enjoy this fair. There are various small fairs, the/a city fair that’s downtown but nothing touches the Georgia National fair. Get there early in order to stay the entire day to get your money worth whether with kids or not. I enjoy shopping deals at the various food trucks posted. Please pay attention, the first cotton candy and candle apple stand may have a great deal on candy apples but the cotton candy or lemonade are just not a deal. One place for funnel cakes charge a deal with a great portion size vs a $10 funnel cake that looks like a pancake; I come to bargain and get my money worth. My crew enjoys the animals and art exhibit.

The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricultural Center is in Perry Georgia. They have a huge Fair the first two weeks in October. The weather is crisp in Fall, and perfect for outside festivities. 🙌 Friends of ours suggested that we go to the rodeo. We arrived at the Fair. I just folded some cash and stuck it in my pocket, and walked up to the gate. We were four senior citizens and they honored that at the cashier. The children purchased wrist bands, so this allowed them to ride non-stop. The Fair stays open until midnight. The first thing we saw was the livestock. We went to the antiques. I bought some pumpkin butter and refrigerator magnets and a old fashion cheese 🧀 grader. We met vendors from all over the United States 🇺🇸. There was so much to see. We loved the hats, Indian jewelry and hand made items. They had Leather crafts. You could have a picture made, like you were living in the old West. We saw paintings, posters and tee-shirt 👕 I bought a personalized license plate. We toured the RV's.They filled a huge aquarium with the cutest seals ever! That's when I met Zoe, the Seal, I photographed with.. They had trained her to jump right on your head, and they would snap the picture. It all happened so quick, all I could do was laugh. She was the most gentle creature I ever saw. My husband had roasted🍗 and 🍕 I had deep fried veggies and Lemonade. We always bought the Fair collectors cup. So much food just to name a few🌭 🍔Polish sausage, fries, Bratwurst, steak sandwiches and cotton candy and candied 🍎 Funnel cake and Elephant ears with powder sugar. Rodeo was about to begin and we wanted to get good seats. Kitty and I bought cowgirl hats 👒 to go with our 👢 boots. We enjoyed the show, beautiful horses and cowboys from all over the United States 🇺🇸 competed. It was fascinating to watch the young people handling those huge animals. They had a roping contest and were riding around barriers. Then the clowns 🤡 performed and he was so cute trying to get down in that tiny 🚗 Then another clown showed up in a 🚑 and he checked on his buddy. The grand phanally was when the lights came up, and there stood a patriotic cowboy all dressed in red white and blue performing gun tricks. He twirled the guns and was spinning them on his fingers. He was alot of fun to watch, but it did require alot of talent. The show was impressive 👏 The food was amazing, we had 🍗 🍕 and deep fried veggies and Lemonade. I will be back this year. I really enjoyed the keyboard player, who comes every year. I forgot his name but he plays old school jams and he has plenty of people dancing right out in front of the bleachers. He also takes request. Which is cool, because he can play anything. It's a good time. Enjoy the Fair. Clean restrooms 🚻 and handicap parking and a first aid station and 🏧 machines. If I remember correctly, they should be located around the clock tower. I will write more later, just wanted to bring you up to speed on the rodeo. See you in the Fall. Carolyn Santos

The fair grounds are huge and so nice. Every bathroom I went to was clean. There is a nice sized lake within the grounds which makes for a nice breeze when it gets too hot. Every time we go back to the fair, we have such a good time but I will say I think the fair is currently over now it’s usually during the month of October or maybe 2 to 3 weeks. Usually starting the first weekend in October running to the third weekend for about 2 1/2 weeks. We got to have such a unique experience when it came to food including trying eight different kinds of lemonade, seafood, steak, tips, pickled pizza, and Greek food just to name a few. There are a couple of things that I will say were different this year and a little bit frustrating. There was only one real booth to buy tickets to be able to ride rides. Most adult rides were 8+ tickets you could only buy a certain amount of tickets at a time and you had to reload the card in order to be able to ride Any type of ride. The kids rides were usually about 3 to 4 tickets which didn’t take up much, but the adult rides after two swipes you were pretty much out depending on what level of ticket you got, and you had to go back and stand in line to get more tickets. The type of rides that they have are really really fun for kids. Enjoyed every moment of the rides, they did did ride, including the Hulk, the bumper cars, and the NASCAR race ride. Also, I do feel that the games were pretty even lol. We played the games, but I did not feel taken in in manner lol ! We did win a couple of prizes, which at some point made me glad we did that last because we had a lot to carry to the car. If you enjoy a good fair , really good unique foods, water shows, and some unique rides coming to the Georgia fair next year should be on the top of your list.

As usual very crowded very busy and yes fun for the family, plenty food! I noticed that people with the handicap sticker still had very far to travel in order to enter. From the point you enter you’re greeted with smiles, but I didn’t see any signs that direct you to where the tickets are located for the rides. Plenty animals were present, cows, horses, goats, seals…there’s fun to be had by all and the children will find it quite amusing

I stop in at Ellis any time I drive by, it's right off I-75. Very nice nuts, you can sample most everything in the store. I've been to the others and they can't compare at all, Ellis is head and shoulders above the competition. Besides the pecans, they have chocolate coated nuts, nuts in shells, sugar free offerings. In season fruits, ice cream, cakes and pies, pickled goods. I've never had anything from there that wasn't excellent quality. As of 2022 spring, the pecans were about $10 to $12 a pound.

I was able to stay within my budget. They have various size bags and packaged pecans. Samples galore. Also purchased the pear preserve, dark chocolate almonds, honey, and the 3 pounds bag of pecans. The dark chocolate candy was delicious, and the preserve is delicious. Wish I would have gotten the larger sizes of the candy and preserves. Haven't tried the pecans yet...they're for Christmas!

We love Ellis Brother’s Pecans! Every time I bring a group through Georgia we stop to shop. Not gonna lie, this time we were pretty disappointed in the girl that was there working there this past Sunday. We walk in and she just stands there - I say hello and she looks at me and never acknowledged I said anything. We walked around, shopped and brought up purchases. She rang them up and never said Thank you. She needs major course in customer service! I apologized to everyone I brought and told them normally was a great stop. We took pictures of group trying to help generate interest… hope it’s better next time…

This tour was amazing! I did the special behind-the-scenes tour and it was awesome! Got to look behind every door and see all the "secret" places. The house is beautiful and our guide was so knowledgeable. This was, hands-down, my favorite house tour in years!

Love, love, love Hay House. We visit evertime a relatively comes to visit. Everyone need to visit at least once in a life time. Took these pictures of the Lord Byron window on our last visit. Look closely! Can anyone explain?

We had a wonderful tour of the Hay House. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. She pointed out so many different things we would not have noticed. I would love to go back when the special tours of the very top are taking place. They do have an elevator for handicap as well as handicap parking.

The tour was great, young man very knowlageable of the house, construction, furniture, art, and invited questions on any topic before we moved to the next room. Even my 8 year old son enjoyed, and asked if we could visit another "old house" , therefore I must give it 5 stars!

One of the absolute best tours we have ever had. The extremely knowledgeable lady that took us through the house was a gifted storyteller. She had stories for every room that were funny and informative. The house was fantastic as well, very amazing rooms throughout the home that will definitely wow you. But without the tour guide it would have been no where near as impactful! We went on the 1pm tour 5/13/23 highly recommended the visit

We visited a house last month. Having visited and toured numerous historic homes, I would say this one is well worth visiting if you are in or near Macon.
The house has several interesting architectural features and an interesting history. From top to bottom, there are seven floors. The tour that we took was the general tour and we saw the first three floors and the basement which is very interesting. Some of the rooms contain furnishings, art, and accessories from the original and second owners. However, some of the furnishings are representations of what might have been there during the time that the first two families lived in the house. This is a very large home and more restoration is in its future.
We would certainly recommend a visit if you are interested in historic homes and beautiful architecture.

Beautiful home. During the excellent guided tour, learned a lot about the former owners of this stately home.
If you have any interest in a subject like this, then it's fascinating. If you have no interest, perhaps a visit here will spark it.

We all had such an awesome time during the annual Native American festival; the performances, the variety of booths with items to peruse and purchase, the hands-on learning stations that taught my d.d and I how to weave baskets, make cornhusk dolls and turquoise-beaded leather bracelets, as well as the many trails, and breathtaking views of the mounds was beyond what I expected. We ended the day with a nice cool down at the museum that had fairly in-depth exhibits and a modest gift shop. This will without a doubt be a yearly event our family will hope to never miss!

This location needs to be deleted. It will send you to no where and just stop in the middle of the highway. There is another monument tag that will send you to the visitors center.

Well worth the stop to view the mounds on foot but disappointed that I was not able to drive through the park due to low height restrictions of 8ft 6 inches.

Lots of cool things for kids to interact with. Very clean and quiet museum. I like that they have so many models and facts to read everywhere. The staff was nice. It was a week day and parking was not that bad. Go visit!

An awesome museum - a must-see!
This site is located on the southeast corner of the Robbins Parkway and Oak Avenue intersection. The entrance is south of the buildings. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot in front of the complex of buildings. There is no cost to the museum and there are volunteers inside each of the buildings. You can visit the buildings in any order but I would suggest going to the 3 stories one directly in front of the parking lot first. It has a beautiful foyer, gift shop, and an information desk where you can get suggestions on what you may want to focus on during your visit. The museum is actually a set of 5 buildings focused on different items. You could easily spend hours or days visiting each of these buildings. The main 3 story building focuses on the historical aspect and spans 3 stories. The building to the south houses the Vietnam era. The courtyard in the middle of the building was being used to launch rockets on the day I visited. The two buildings on the east of the courtyard house various displays and some works-in-progress. As an added bonus, there are planes on display outside the main buildings including a B-52, Presidential plane, and more. Overall, it is a very nice museum and a must-see for any aviation enthusiast or American history buff. I highly recommend this for any visitor in the area.

Fascinating planes from history. There is no refreshment area, so take water with you. You can always leave it in the car, as the parking lot is very convenient. Wear comfy shoes. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Give yourself 2 to 3 hours to see everything. Admission and parking are free, but donations are welcome. Nice gift shop.

This place is absolutely amazing. Some of the most groundbreaking technological advancements by humankind, and it's free, no one bugs you, and it's all available to you at your own pace/level of interest.
In addition to extremely cool aircraft, there's also fascinating history told through numerous artifacts, dioramas, and displays.
You gotta see it - three HUGE hangars' worth of stuff, plus aircraft outside, and it's freakin' FREE. You might get lucky and see and C5 fly overhead, as well.
Alison Gottlieb — Google review
It’s an interesting museum with many different aircraft and military memorabilia. The planes are enormous and impressive! If I could improve one thing it would be that they update things every once in a while so that the younger generations can continue appreciating their efforts and achievements. Maybe add a few interactive exhibits, some social media experiences…
I personally like the museum a lot, I just see potential for growth.

We are lucky to have such a place here. My father worked on base for 35+ years and was involved with setting up some of the planes here. Always a great place to bring the kids for a fun and educational trip.

Very nicely done museum. We're history buffs and have gone to quite a few aviation museums and this museum highlighted things we had not seen before.
The volunteers were very nice and friendly also. We did not check it out but it looks like there was a nice playground in a picnic area right next to the museum. You need about 2 - 2 and 1/2 hours to see the museum.

What a fantastic exhibit! I never imagined one could fit so many planes in such a relatively small space; however, it’s incredibly well done. My ten year old nephew was with us and he enjoyed sitting in a cockpit so much that he insisted on returning to it before we left. He also appreciated sitting in the helicopter and wiggling the controls. This museum is unbelievably child friendly and accessible . Seeing the famous SR 71 Blackbird was unforgettable! The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable, the exhibits were clearly explained, and the artifacts numerous and fascinating. The skeletal plane with the paratroopers inside was creepy (in an Intriguing way). This was a day well spent, and I hope to get back there one day.

This place is a great stop for any aviation or military buff. The amount of planes here is amazing. They have some hands on cockpits for the young and young at heart to jump into and play with all the buttons and gauges. 4 buildings in all. We did not have enough time to appreciate all that is here, since we hit this on the way to our destination. Kids enjoyed it and loved their models from the gift shop. If you are in the area and have some time to spare it is definitely worth a stop, and it's free, so why not?!

We had a great time. Super friendly people and very helpful. They will answer any questions you have. Also helped us with the veterans we had with us. They provided us with a wheelchair to finish seeing the rest of the museum, which is 3 separate buildings. Great time.

The wife and I took our kids here Saturday. Our son has lately been obsessed with all things military and with the free admission for all of us, it was an easy choice for an educational and engaging place.
Three of the four buildings on site have at least one cockpit (plane, jet or helicopter) that you or the little ones (and in some cases, all of you) can climb into. Switches, buttons, knobs, levers, and all function in a tactile way that had our kids scrambling to get "just one more turn" at each place. Even our girls were fully engaged in all of it which was a pleasant surprise.
Each building (hanger) has a large assortment of vehicles. Some have jeeps, ambulances, fire trucks, Hummers, all in addition to the variety of planes, jets and helicopters on display.
You may even avoid the gift shop (you don't have to walk through it to leave) if you're really trying to avoid spending money for the day (it's rare somewhere truly has free admission no matter the occasion).
That said, there were some very cool things in there, both for the kids and adults (toys, models, shirts, cups, blankets, books, stuffed animals and other assorted things). A stop into the store is a great way to help support the museum and get a fun item to have as a keepsake (or smash a penny and get the imprinted image on it).
If you don't want more stuff cluttering up your place but still want to support the museum, there are donation boxes in every building.
If you're looking for somewhere for the kids to be able to walk and burn off some energy, this is a great free option. There is a ton to read, a lot to learn and experience and a lot to look at. If you have very little children, a stroller may be a good idea unless you want to carry them. Towards the end, our girls got tired of walking.
Our son however requested that we go back soon. He said it was the best day ever and so cool.
Before we left, we stopped at the playground for the kids to play and jump and climb, swing and slide.
We will definitely be going back sooner than later.

very informative museum, mostly based on aircraft used in different wars, different positions people worked in, plenty of artifacts to see. Entry is free, but they do have a VR ride which is 10$ per person and 8$ for a veteran.

Had a very pleasant afternoon with my grandson who enjoyed it immensely. It's free but they have donation points. The simulated 3d rides at the entrance are as good as any Disney 3d ride (at $10 per person)' and you don't have to wait in the sun for 3 hours for the ride. The variety of planes is staggering, including 3 exterior halls, and plane exhibitions in back of the main pavilion. Highly recommended!

This is a great museum experience. Our docent, Ashley, was an excellent guide. The furniture is 25% original, and the mansion is laid out nearly the same as when it was occupied by Governor Cobb, thanks to detailed records by his wife. The air conditioner works quite well, making this an excellent place to escape the heat when visiting in summer. Senior, military, child, and student pricing available. Free admission for Georgia College students and staff.

Relaxed destination with a lodge, camping areas & cabins by the 265-acre lake, plus a swimming pool.
We went there with 32 guys for a golf tournament weekend. We played 18 holes Thursday, 36 holes Friday, 36 holes Saturday, and 18 holes Sunday. The course is beautiful, Easy to play! The staff there is incredible. Tina went out of her way after her vacation to track down a watch I had left there and send it to me more than a week and a 1/2 after I left. You do not find service like this anywhere, ever, anymore! But honestly the staff everywhere was great! Thanks for the great experience!

The park was easy to find. It is located just north of McRae-Helena off of GR441. There is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are paved and in good condition.
Our site, 02, was a gravel base back in that was easily long enough for our Coach and Towed . Services (30 amp, water cable and sewer) were to the left side. Distancing is good for a rural park. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was well groomed and nicely decorated for the Christmas Season.
The park included wifi and cable TV worked well. We did find some OTA channels as well. Satellite might be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean and modern.
There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $35.00 (plus $4.55 tax) per night and we feel we received good value. We would be back if in the area again.

My wife and I were there for 3 nights in the lodge. This park is most likely the nicest park we’ve visited in Georgia. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. They have a golf course, swimming pool, splash pad, tennis courts and volleyball area. They have a nice beach, nature paths two restaurants and a campground. They can accommodate any size party and they have cabins that are completely remodeled. Our first night there was a problem with the hot water in our area of the lodge but it was fixed early the following day. The staff were very polite and helpful. We intend to stay there again this summer if we can get one of those new cabins overlooking the lake.

Really cool little place for a golf trip. Not sure there would be any other reason to visit but there are a lot of fishing motifs in the area. The hotel sits right on the golf course and makes for a great place to hang out between rounds. Restaurant food is decent, good enough for a quick meal but nothing spectacular. The real selling point is location to the golf course which was in great shape when we placed even with a lot of rain the same day.

If you were under the age of 55, do not waste your time. This is a State Park only and name, it’s actually just a golf course. The welcome center and convention area is terribly out of date and looks like a slightly newer version of a motel six. We did not stay to eat the food however, they were an off a lot of people going to it, I assume it is good. The golf course was completely slammed. Full with about 200 old men playing golf. Never saw anyone under the age of 40. I am not being disrespectful. It was just very odd.
We could not find the Cabins to do a review. They seem to be hidden somewhere within the RV camp lot.. We will not go back. Have no interest in the state park does not seem to offer much of anything other than golf.

This is one of the best state parks I’ve been to in Georgia. I just needed to stretch my legs while passing through on my 3-4 hour travel trip. I had no idea there were Sandhills in Georgia. The trail I walked had white sandhill trails and to top it off there were so many Sparkleberry bushes in bloom. On a sunnier day there would have been a lot of butterflies.

What I like: Its quiet without the usual traffic noise of muscle cars, its very close to the golf course and the coffee is good. Two stars.
What I do not like: Its pretty far away to get something to eat. The bed is old and it feels like sleeping in a hammock. I wake up with lower back pain. There is a ventilation in the ceiling with constant cool air comming out which you cannot switch off. The floor is pretty dirty and nobody came for cleaning the last two days. And now a guy moved in right next to me and has a conversation on the phone and I can easily understand what he is saying. I suppose, the "walls" are made out of some sort of fabric or cardboard material. Three nights left. I am positive that the guy finally will hang up the phone.

Asked for Coffee upon arrival after 930am dont serve it the burners dont work?? Next day the breakfast food was put out at 715am and not one burner was on. Breakfast was cold but cost 14 dollars per person for a buffet that any 2 star hotel could beat. The Lodge is beautiful clean with wonderful views but later found out that it isnt run by the state but a private business is in charge. SAD!

I had to stop here to get a day pass to go through the park cute little park until you get to one area of it there was no close gate there was no railing going across the road to tell you you could not go in that area and the area was to the beach and boat dock well I stopped to read the historic sign inside that area where the boat dock and Beach was and I had a gentleman walk up to me and tell me the areas closed and I said there's nothing to say that he says there's signs I said the signs are over in the grass they're not blocking the road The gate was wide open and you can see by the pictures that I have included that indeed the area closed signs were over off the road in the grassy area and that the main gate down that road was wide open The employees there are just plain rude I have never ran into a state park that 95% of them are rude and I didn't understand that there was no need for it All I was doing was driving through taking a look and stop dorita historic sign about wide beach was named after who it was and it was quite interesting to learn the historic part of it it dealt with the first the gentleman that created the first bottling plants for Coca-Cola in that area so that's kind of historic and my opinion It should require a moment of reading and if you don't want somebody down there put today on gate up or put the road closed sign out there that blocks the road!!!

Family waterpark with many slides & pools, a lazy river, swim lessons & a dome for winter swimming.
Such a great first experience! We have 2, 4 and 7 year old boys and there was something for everyone. The only complaint is that Dippin Dots were sold out by 3pm and our kids had been really excited about them.

Best water park we’ve been to yet (NC SC GA)
They have all the attractions you’d want from slides to wave pool to several kiddie areas. Among all the other parks we’ve been to this by far the biggest and the most bang for your buck! It’s huge and filled with so much to do!
Food is high and that’s about the only con I had. If you’re willing to pay or wait it out you should be good.
All the kids enjoyed and the wife and I even enjoyed ourselves! We arrived at 10 am opening and left at 4-430.
No outside food, however you can leave out and eat and renter. We really enjoyed it and had a great time, they owe us nothing!
Parking is a little tight. Even the park and pond surrounding the water park is really nice as well. Lines moved out quickly, lifeguards and staff everywhere, and were great!!
There were 3 different stands for snacks, meals, food and drinks
Definitely coming back

This place is so cool. It has slide races a dark tunnel slide and 2 person slide and plenty of young kid water features. Wave pool also. Prices are fair and concessions are pretty good to. Also a bounus is you can pack your lunch and get stamped to go to park and eat and still reenter park yay 4 that. It has lazy river and surf wave pool too. Family fun all around and is great place to visit. Side note if inclimate weather happens to shut park down b4 4pm they do rain checks to let you come back again.

It's a decent water park for kids of all ages. The big pool goes to 12ft deep and has a diving board which is nice. On several occasions I've noticed that the water in the 5ft deep pool and the lazy river gets super warm and cloudy. Uncomfortably so.
Other that It's a good place to hang out for the day. Vendor food isn't terribly overpriced. Bring cash for the dip n dots/snow cones.

I think this is a great place to take the kids to cool off in the summer. I feel like the price is a little high considering the lack of organization and coordination of the staff. There is inadequate parking. It seems that the staff should be trained a little better and have a better communication system for guests arriving for general admission vs. Parties. But overall it's a nice place to visit. I'll try to get more images of the various activities available on our next visit. Yes, I bought season passes.

My kids(11 and 8) loved it, most of the staff were very friendly. I wasnt allowed to bring the jelly beans for my hypoglycemic child but instructed to leave them in the car and exit to eat them there when needed. I went back to the car and snuck them in in my suit top because that's not how hypoglycemia works.
Unfortunately, the cabana I paid $100 to rent for the day was lacking the two lounge chairs as advertised online. I was looking forward to the lounge chairs for the two youngest of our group. They would have had a place to nap but we ended up not even having enough seating for all 6 of the people in my group. The locking box wasn't in our cabana so a staffer had to pull one from another cabana. There's nearly no organization of the line for slides or entry and exit of the lazy river. Throughout the day there were 10+ people with tubes standing on the stairs at the lazy river. Clear signage and verbal instruction from lifeguards could improve the safety and entrace/exiting of the lazy river. My 8 year old ended up being separated from me because someone bumped into her and knocked her into the flow when we were trying to enter and I couldn't get through immediately to be with her. Good thing she's a strong swimmer. Similar chaos was experienced on the stairs for the 3 large slides. People without tubes were almost constantly pushing their way past everyone standing in line to get to the top. Again, clear signage or verbal instruction could help here. There was an employee sitting at the bottom of the stairs, but she was almost invisible and had no interest in checking anyone's height or instructing anyone how the line should function. Similar chaos was experienced at the snack shack. Lines were very long and the only signs were difficult to see for all of the people in line. I waited 81 minutes for our food, good thing I snuck my child's jelly beans in. Overall, it's not an awful park and is probably pretty great if you live there. For us, this was a lot of chaos and unnecessary stress on top of a 2 hour drive.

Great place nice staff cabana's available. Wave pool, lazy river and plenty of areas for younger kids. They have concession stands and a little pizzeria. A Cabana is $100 but it is worth it if you have a family because of the privacy and you get 8 drink vouchers which is a $30 value at least but overall a great place and we will continue to go back as much as possible

If your family needs a place to cool down, this is it! They have several slides, water playgrounds, a lazy river, the flow rider and a wave pool. It was hot!! Get there early to get a seat with some shade. There were a lot of bugs there, but that expected when there is moisture around. The food is reasonably priced and the water definitely cooled us down. I'll be back!
Museum focused on the history of Fort Stewart, with guns, uniforms & other artifacts on display.
Only went into the gift shop since the PX only souvenirs pertaining to Savannah. However just at a glancing pass, the facility looked very clean, we did see basically a history of all the Army uniforms. The gift shop has a lot of neat little souvenirs. My favorite being the GA shaped cutting board. Staff is very friendly, & price point for souvenirs are very reasonable az far as standard gift shop prices go.

Yes - the museum is on base, but access is not an issue. And the Base Visitor's Center team is BY FAR the most helpful group I've ever dealt with when gaining access to an installation.
Now for the museum... GREAT experience and quite a bit packed into a smaller building.

Great museum covering the history of the the 3rd infantry division. Plan on a couple hours to work through from WWI up to the war on terrorism. Some displays are really sad as they contain the uniform, firearm, and spent casings of great American soldiers who died in the line of duty trying to save other members of their unit.

Very interesting place to learn about the 3rd infantry division. It’s also open on the first Saturday of each month. The shop is open Tuesday through Thursday 10 am to 3 pm.

Worth visiting if you've been part of the 3rd Infantry Division or just love history! The museum is divided into sections of time periods, wars, and/or operations (ie. World War I, Operation Iraqui Freedom, etc.).

This is a great museum about the history of 3rd Infantry Division. The displays are engaging and informative. If you have the opportunity for a guided tour with a group I highly recommend it. There is a small gift shop with the usual types of souvenirs. There are water fountains and very clean restrooms.
If you're looking for a spacious outlet mall in the Savannah area, Tanger Outlets is a great option. It features popular brand name stores with great sales. It's located about 15 minutes away from downtown Savannah, so if you're feeling adventurous, you can also check it out.
Awesome, place to get alot of name brand clothing, footwear items and more. Had many things to do while you site a rest or for kids to do while you shop. Was me and my kids first time being here, and loved how everything looked and the great prices.

HIGHLY recommend these outlets! You cannot go wrong with visiting this location. So many options for clothing, purses, jewelry, shoes, food, sweet treats, and more. There are several kid friendly areas where people can sit and rest/play corn hole or oversized chess. There is a playground in one section of the outdoor shopping mall. Recently there was a Dave and Buster’s opened at the outlets at well. There are tons of sit down dining options nearby, a couple on site, and several fast food options nearby. Lots of sweet treat options on site. You will not be disappointed in shopping options or food.

I love coming to Tanger Outlets! The variety of stores and eateries provide this outdoor shopping center with an attractive edge. Among the stores here include, H&M, Crocs, Pandora, Under Armour. It also offers bathrooms and benches throughout the outlet for quick breaks. Always enjoy my visits!

A great selection of brand names. The area is clean and well-kept. Certainly a great place to stroll around, pick up some gear, or do some good old-fashioned window shopping. The area is a great stop for anyone touring and visiting the Savannah area.

Great selection of stores. Store entrances are all facing the inside of the complex, so be prepared to walk from the parking lot, even from handicap spaces. You will be exposed to whatever weather, but perhaps it will be a perfect weather day. The interior walkways are covered, once you get there, so that's good, and there are seats, beautiful plants and some large games for the children (or anyone). Many of the stores are quite large, so have lots of merchandise . And there are plenty of places to get food as well, from full meal to cookies or pretzels.

Unfortunately we only found stuff for the kids, but every store we went in the staff was polite. They were clean and organized. If you ever visit imma just let you know have you budget the only reason we spend it all is because we was on a time crunch.

I got a shopping problem and this place definitely fixes my urges. I can't get enough of these outlets. Super clean, tons of shade to hide when it is hot. Lovely experience every time I've been

Tanger in Pooler is a lovely outlet. They put a lot of thought into the design. You have adult food and beverages and fun and games at Dave and Busters. There is a play area for the kids to run and play after a long shopping day. The scenery is beautiful, with lots of flowers and fountains. There are several sitting areas for those who want to watch their significant other shop. I love this place. We are there at least two times a month. Great prices will always get my attention. I love this place!

Just like most outlet malls in the US, go here for sales. 30-60% off sales are extremely common here. If you need clothes or shoes this would be a great choice. If you're hungry maybe not, there's only a donut store, candy shops and a pretzel store. No food court and a boba store (pricy)
Lots of outside seating and sunshade.
Wheelchair accessible
Plenty of parking

There are many shopping outlets with great deals! My favorite part of the Tanger Outlets was that there were different play/activity areas for children.

In Poolers prime area for shopping & restaurants and with easy freeway access. Outdoors entry from all stores. New stores and restaurants added at end of 2023. Plenty of parking. Not many pics of the directory so I added some.

Okay, we decided to deviate on our road trip. It was hot, hot, hot. The abundance of people and cars. Be very very patient. This was a Sunday afternoon. It had the same stores you see every where else. A couple of hidden gems like Geechie Rootz and the Pepper Sauce market. The ice cream was real good. Easy on, easy off but time consuming.

Although it is my local Tanger Outlets, it is the best one I have ever gone to. This place is always thriving with lively people, many good stores that majority of the time have great customer service, you get some good exercise walking around this whole place too! It makes it good that they are actively expanding this place as well, and if one store goes out, they try to fill a new store in its place. There are also family owned/local businesses here, it is not all corporate so good on them for that! This is the only Tanger I have seen to even have a playground, a good rest area for parents to sit down and let their kids drive all their energy out, haha. Keep it up Tanger Outlets of Pooler/Savannah!

Wow, this place is unbelievably big, with all the shops and brands you're looking for. It also has a large restaurant area where you can choose to your liking. It is clean and well marked with benches to rest. The bathrooms are great, with large corridors that act as a shortcut, if you do not want to walk so much.
The National Museum of the Eighth Air Force is a massive site that honors the brave men and women who served in the Eighth Air Force during World War II and throughout the Cold War. With exhibits on aircraft, memorabilia, archives, and more, this is an excellent place to learn about military history from all perspectives. The museum's main attraction is its restored B-17 bomber plane.
Great information and great tours by very knowledgeable people who give you a sense of being there in the airplanes over England. The multimedia only serves to enhance the experience. Memorial gardens serve as a reminder of how many people gave their lives for our freedom. Great experience they even have a fairly realistic English pub to enjoy a meal with people who are restoration of many of planes, experiences and people who may even have served.

This review will be a bit biased as im a massive WWII nut but you need to visit this place. This is one of the coolest and most in depth Air Force museums I’ve ever seen. The detail is incredible and the artifacts not the mention planes on display are incredible. It took quite a few hours to walk through so i would recommend coming early. There are many exhibits so be sure not to burn yourself out quickly. If you are blown away by what our military did during the great war this is a must see

Nestled in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force stands as a testament to courage, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of the men and women who served during World War II. From the moment you enter, you are immersed in the rich history and stirring stories of the Eighth Air Force.

Very nice museum. The best preserved B-17 bomber of the US!
Even if you are not an Air Force enthusiastic it will be a very interesting visit to understand the WWII history.
It simulates a bombing mission including the briefing and preparation. Very immersive and interesting.

Air force veteran? Military buff? History buff? Just love seeing cool old planes? This museum covers all those bases and more! Well thought out and emotionally moving from the second you pass the ticket counter. The gentleman that were in the museum explaining the parts of the plane were excellent (big shout out to Marvin!) Plan on spending some time here, we spent about 4 hours and still missed a few things. The memorial gardens out back are beautiful, the replica church is amazing.

Absolutly wonderful staff, and even volunteer staff, they were willing to talk with you, explain all that was in the museum, give personal stories, that move you learning how it correlates to the musems purpose. The museum really emerces you in the videos they showed you. It has flashing lights fans to simulate wind multiple screens every angle the camera gave, showing you while being emerced in it, part of our history. I absolutely would love if they could teach the same way they emerce you here with knowledge. They get it to really stick with you.

This is a great museum. Focused on a narrow period of history, it communicates accurately and in detail. Staff and volunteers are incredible. Stop by if you’re around, and plan a trip if you’re not.

I have driven past this museum on several occasions and on spotting the B47 parked outside the building thought that I should go there one day. This was the day and I am so pleased we made the time. It is quite extraordinary. As a person of British origin but now a US citizen, this relates to both "my" pasts and brings them together to tell a story of extraordinary heroism, sacrifice and achievement. I used to fly in the UK and often would fly above the remnants of old WW2 airfields, both British and US, made plain by the standard triangle of runways or at least their remnants in fields that have been reclaimed by nature or farmers. Just as when one flies in that corner of South East England that is the hallowed airspace where the Battle of Britain was fought, so as you pass over these fields or visit them to see little memorials on the ground, there is a feeling that brave men did great deeds which we still benefit from. There is part of one of the displays that lights up to show where all the Eighth Airforce related establishments were. You can see why they needed so many of them as the Eighth grew from nine officers to over three hundred thousand officers and enlisted men. This museum tells their stories. It speaks to both the glory and tragedy that comes from modern warfare and clearly details how the Mighty Eighth contributed to the downfall of the Axis powers in Europe. It tells the story on both a grand and a personal scale. For me the succession of A2 aircrew jackets with artwork on the back in so many display cases feel like something I could relate to easily. I bought one back in the 80s, a very good one made to exactly the same specification as those in WW2 and they are a very personal garment. Each of those was worn by a very brave man, many of whom would have to conquer their fears anew each time as they got into their planes for the long ride ahead into some of the most tenaciously defended airspace in the world. They would have to do these twenty-five to thirty times before they could go back home and those first few missions had appalling odds of survival.
Please go to this museum, it is an essential part of US and free world history. It is worth stopping at and not driving by and I for one am so pleased we pulled in.

Nice and detailed museum talking about the great army aviation unit that heroically operated during WWII. They have very rich artifacts and relics related to the unit and the history of WWII Europe bombardment operations. The mission briefing secession is a must go, worth the time. And they said they are planning for a renew of the museum next year or later, definitely will be back after that.

This is a must visit. Lots of items in this museum you only can see here. More Air Force items than the WWII Museum. Complete history of all the bomb groups and fighter groups. Well displayed. You need 3-4 hours to see it all. We stopped by while in Savannah on our way to Florida.
