We had a great experience doing a wine tasting here. The place itself is beautiful. We tried several wines which were all fantastic. They were very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with our dog and baby.

Stopped by towards the end of the day, Brandon was our server and we could not of been more pleased with him. He sat down at our table and took his time answering all of our questions, making suggestions and educating us. Our experience would not have been the same with any other server today, thanks Brandon. Good luck to you in your future endeavors!!!

My wife and I chose to take a "mini-moon" the week following our wedding and stay at Black Star Farms. Our Diadem suite was everything we could ask for and then some! We were treated to a complimentary bottle of house wine and a delicious charcuterie board upon arrival. We were very pleased with our views of the horse pastures and the cozy stone fireplace. The inn keeper David was extremely welcoming, showing us around the property once we checked in and the amenities were all great! We can't wait to come back and stay again sometime in the summer/fall. Thank you for having us!

Dinner in Black Star Inn is an intimate & delicious experience. The food was exquisite, service impeccable, which created a truly superb dining experience. We will return & recommend it highly. 5 stars are not enough.

They do table service tastings here. We still felt like we got some individual attention and they answered our questions and talked about the wines. I enjoyed what I tasted and they have wine slushies here which I just love! The atmosphere here is great and the staff were friendly. I don't love their system with how to order, they messed up my order because they didn't read the whole order sheet. Make sure you vocalize what you are ordering when you turn it in!

I came to the Inn for our annual girls trip. We have been to the tasting room in the past and we usually go to TC every year but wanted something different. It was an excellent change of pace. The grounds are beautiful, the wine is amazing, but above all DAVID was the highlight of our trip. He anticipated every one of our needs and was super attentive. There was always fresh coffee outside of our door, wine glasses were always topped of at the cocktail hour and he seemed to always be there just when we needed something. Black Star Farms You have a Gem! We also rented the pavilion and had the charcuterie board and wine which was amazing. Chris was our host there and he was excellent. We even got a surprise visit from the Wine maker. We ate at the cafe and the pizza was so good, and I wish that I could remember the waitress' name because she was SO much fun! My only suggestion is that for a girls trip, make sure there is enough of the regular beds, because the pull out was not comfortable at all. I think this would be an absolutely amazing romantic weekend away.

Had the best 2 days! We stayed in the Atlas room. We did the ultimate package and it was absolutely wonderful! Everyone, David, Mitchell, Emily, Kim, Michelle, Paul, Sherri and Chef John were so nice and such a joy to spend time with. The facilities, employees, food and wine are first class!

Awesome winery. Best service around. Nice variety of wine and they also have spirits, on which they have a nice variety of flavors. Definitely a place to visit at least once, but I bet if you visit it will become your regular stop. Drink up!

Visited Black Star Farms for their charcuterie board workshop in December 2022. The workshop was fun with lots of good tips for assembling grazing boards. You assemble your board and get to eat or take home all the snacks. Great idea for a girls night/afternoon activity or a date night. Highly recommend!

While not having the best views on Leelanau, the atmosphere and wine are fantastic. There is also a bistro and an area with horses and goats. A very nice place to visit.

This is a wonderful winery. The ambience and decor of the place is very classy, but comfortable. The service we received was very friendly and they were very helpful to any and all questions. We did not have any food there but the wine and beverages that we did have were really good! I would highly recommend doing the caramel apple mimosa. It is an apple flavored mimosa with caramel around the rim and it was delicious. The drive into the winery was scenic and you pass a wonderful, cascading Vineyard. There were other activities going on nearby. There is an eatery on the property, however, we did not partake as we had eaten prior. If you’re looking for a new winery to go to, I would definitely recommend this place, if you order a flight of wine or bourbon you will get a keepsake glass to take home. There are other things that are available not listed on the flight menu. Definitely ask around as I missed a pumpkin old fashioned, which might happen before the end of the season!

The vibes in this place were immaculate. We went there on Saturday and they had live music which was awesome. The staff was super nice and Chris gave us quite an experience.

Loved the bed and breakfast. I looked forward to breakfast every morning. The room was gorgeous and loved the house. Definitely recommend a stay if you have the opportunity. The tasting is full of great options and always a must stop for me every time I am in Traverse City. The outdoor patio area has perfect for a nice day.

June 18, 2022. Our wedding day was exquisite perfection and will be remembered by us and our guests for years to come. Both friends and family have said it was the most magical wedding they’ve ever been to, was extraordinarily beautiful, a perfect day and spectacular party. This was all in large part to the amazing staff at Black Star Farms—specifically Ingrid and Dustin. When a manager left mid-planning, Dustin stepped up and ensured everything was still on track and answered all my endless questions. Ingrid was hired towards the end and her ability to jump right in was flawless. They both did an outstanding job so we had nothing to worry about on our special day. Few days ago, we had our private tour and testing. My wife and I, enjoy staff professionalism and quality. Very testy wine, we had our lunch at the Bistro. Fantastic time.

We had a simple elopement on 10.20.22 that Black Star Farms helped make exceptional. Everything looked wonderful and even with the rough weather leading up to the day, they had everything ready for our outdoor ceremony but were ready the morning of to relocate indoors in the event the weather didn't hold out. They hosted the small party we had while we wandered the beautiful grounds for our pictures that also turned out perfect. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a stunning view of the vineyards and a wonderful level of hospitality. Thank you once again Black Star Farms, and many thanks to all the staff that helped along the way. My memory is horrific with names so I apologize in advance, but I believe it was Ingrid and Dustin that helped my wife make everything run so smoothly, and as I had only spent a short time indoors and did not catch her name, the lovely woman tending the bar for our guests and a rambunctious few children was patiently wonderful. I was there over Easter weekend, and although the winery is lovely, we went to look at the horses and the place seemed rundown. Looked like nobody is taking care of that side. I wanted to have my wedding there but guests would be going over there and it's just rundown.

Danielle and other staff member were very helpful and informative and hospitable. Didn't like that they didn't have indoor seating in the cold weather, but I certainly understand space restrictions and growing pains. Nice place to visit and good, mostly non-flavored, genuine hard apple ciders.

Tandem Ciders is one of our all time favorite places on the Leelanau Peninsula. The vibe is laid back and friendly and on any given day, you can find tourists and locals alike, enjoying some delicious ciders. I especially like that many of their ciders are on the drier-side, but they do have enough variety for every taste. My personal favorites are Green Man and Smackintosh. One of the traditions we have when visiting Tandem is having a pickled egg. On our first visit, we spied the jar behind the bar and asked about it. Having never had one, we took the bartender's recommendation and tried one. We were surprised at how much we liked it! The indoor seating is cozy. We usually visit in the fall and love when we can sit outside. In the past, there were some fire pits outside to enjoy, but we didn't see them out this past trip. To be honest, the outdoor space could use a little decluttering and sprucing up, but that is literally the only negative thing I could say about this wonderful place.

If you like ciders, this is a great stop! They have a fun theme and great atmosphere. You can order your food and drinks through a window and sit outside or you can order inside and sit inside. They have food available here, my partner always has to order a pickled egg every time he comes! They have sweet and dry ciders, so something for most people. The staff are outgoing and we had a good time.

Everything was great. Having a bigger bar area would be awesome but the space constriction - not much you can do to change that.

One of my fav cider spots in Michigan. They have nice wooded area that accommodates large groups and usually have a nice flower area in the summer. Their growlers are also adorable. Love mixing and matching the ciders :). yum!

We’ve been coming here for years and it’s one of our favorite spots! Lots of outdoor space available in both summer and winter. Solo stoves are near each table in winter. My favorite is the smackintosh but you can’t go wrong!

Tandem Ciders is a breath of fresh air in an area saturated with mediocre wineries and cider houses. Their cider is truly artisan and they let the apples speak for themselves. My wife and I love their selection of dry ciders, which are hard to come by at most houses. The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is really laid back. You will definitely find yourself chatting with friendly locals if you sit at the bar.

I love coming to Northern Michigan and having tandem ciders anywhere they are offered. But I love to go to the now outdoor seating and tasting area and see what they’re serving as well. I got the flight this time and I am a big fan of the honey cider - bees dream.

Have to reserve a spot here. Wine was okay. I ordered Staff Pick. Was fun to experience tho. We also got a cheese dip that was pretty good too. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.

Had an amazing experience, showed up and they immediately serve you two free glasses of wine. The server Shanna was very kind and accommodating. Absolutely loved her, if Shanna is working, request her!

I love sparkling wines and Mawbys hits the mark! Their new semi-sweet Marquette called Once came in as my all time favorite bubbly! We did their elevated tasting the day before Valentine's Day and enjoyed every minute of it. Went home with 8 bottles. The setting was beautiful and the staff was top notch!

Really fun vibe here at MAWBY - the sparkling wine is refreshing and has tons of flavor. Annie was very helpful during my experience here.

Awesome champagne - most notable menu item has to be the cherry jalapeño cheese dip though. Must see place. Hit up the winery next door too! May need reservations- but we walked in. We biked from leelinau, but fair warning it’s all up hill to get here, so e-bikes are recommended.

Such wonderful scenery. My favorite spot for sparkling wines. We did a couple of flights. Spectacular. The service is here is top notch. Very friendly, happy, and knowledgeable about the wines. Perfect mid day spot looking over the valley and having a sparkling wine or a few.

A definite must-visit for my trips up north. All sparkling wines add a fun stop to a day of wine tasting, and you'll want to hang out with the staff all day, they're so fun. Stop by on a Sunday to enjoy the mimosas, and don't forget to snack on their whitefish dip!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My cousin and I recently went on a winery trip to Traverse City and Mawby was our first stop. We had such a great experience that no other winery compared. Melinda was the most amazing server and honestly person we met during our whole trip. She made us feel extremely welcomed and was very knowledgeable about each wine. She also had great recommendations during our tasting. We had such a great time on our first day that we came back on Wednesday to see Melinda again! 10000/10 this place is fantastic!

Delicious champagne. We bought the Neon and it didn’t make it through the first night in the hotel. Flights were all delicious. I normally prefer sweet wines and their’s are on the dry side but still fantastic. I’d still try them all if I had the time and the DD. Excellent server as well.

Loved this place! It's only slightly off the beaten path but feels super far off the path, which is part of why we loved it. Their grounds are absolutely beautiful and have amazing sites to sit and enjoy a cider. (Also loved the free range chickens roaming, so cute) Our bartender was awesome she was so knowledgeable on all the drinks and let us try our interests to find the best drink fit for us. I highly recommend going here if you are in the area. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

Randomly stopped in and so glad we did! The view is unmatched in the area. We tried the 8-flight and they were tasty, though the lapeña is as spicy as it's described on the menu. The owner is friendly and we had a great time chatting with him. All in all, a wonderful evening and we will be back!

Maybe I'm just not a fan of ciders. Came in with the wife and friends. They ordered a big flight board that had a wide arrangement of flavors. I honestly didn't find one that I liked. The view and setup of the place is really nice. They had a pretty good size crowd. After C-19 they were doing their best with the workload in getting our order in.

My wife and I stopped here on our honeymoon having never had cider before. We tasted all of the various flavors and took a couple bottles home. The view from Suttons Bay is absolutely breathtaking and Lisa was super fun and helpful! 15/10 recommend!

Wow! This place is on a hilltop with an incredible view of West Traverse bay both inside and outside of the property. Stuck in the back? Well then you’ve got a great view of the forest! Just all in all a beautiful location. I found the staff to be friendly and patient. Bored? Throw the frisbee for Gordo! (See picture). Pricing was decent. We tried all 8 ciders on tap and found the Cherry one to be best. I highly recommend visiting this location with friends and family! 🌞🍻🌻

Interesting selection of Ciders. My wife and I did a full flight to try everything. Between the two of us there were only a couple that neither of us cared for, but I still appreciate them trying interesting ideas. The scenery of this place is absolutely amazing though. The overlook of the forest and bay is just amazing. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

What an absolutely incredible place. We arrived after being rudely turned away from a cidery down the road. Not sure what to expect, but with a packed parking lot we knew this place was special. The line was long but the staff was unbelievably efficient, we had drinks in less than a couple minutes. I had a N/A craft cocktail "Fools Gold", it was amazing. 15 of us were treated like family, we headed out to the deck and were blown away by the stunning view of the bay. High on the hill this place was breathtaking, even on a cloudy grey sky fall afternoon. This "Fools Gold" drink was so amazing I had to ask what was in it and how it was made, they again didn't hesitate to answer all my questions and even share a few secrets. I mentioned the poor service we had at Two K Cidery and instead of taking an opportunity to bash the competition they didn't, what they did do was apologize on Two K's behalf. WOW WHAT PROFESSIONALISM!!! We bought items from the gift shop and thanked them immensely for their generous service and hospitality. We HIGHLY recommend putting Suttons Bay Ciders on your MUST STOP list, you will not regret it.

I love this cidery! I live in the Grand Rapids area, so I only get to visit every couple of years when I am in the area, but I make it a point to stop every time. Although it is a fun place to visit at any time of the year, it is best to visit during the fall because the deck offers some of the best scenery of the fall foliage in the area. They offer so many interestingly infused ciders, so I highly recommend trying a flight or staying long enough to try more than one full glass. Also, as an unrelated bonus, they have a dog that mingles with guests!

Suttons Bay Ciders is one of the places you can’t miss if you have a short amount of time in Traverse City or the surrounding area. As you can imagine it only serves different apple ciders with many imaginative flavors added. Including jalapeños, lavenders, and mints, at least as of summer 2020. The surrounding deck looks out on an absofruitly astonishing view of the West Arm Grand Traverse Bay. It also seems they do weddings here, which would be amazing. This place is BYOF (food) and also BYOD (dog) for the exterior spaces be sure to say hi to Gordy the house cider dog, he is very friendly. The staff is very friendly and the place doesn’t think too highly of itself, and that makes it very very welcoming. It has plenty of outdoor seating especially for this pandemic climate. The rest of the ratings speak for themselves, take the time to visit Suttons Bay Ciders.

I was visiting a buddy up in Suttons Bay and we wanted to go grab a casual meal for lunch. By his recommendation this place was a must — and indeed it was. The backyard area was bright and airy with lots of different options for seating and scenery. They did an awesome job setting it up to feel like you were immersed in the forest, that backs right up to the path connecting to Traverse city. They also have yard games, Bon fires and a fully stocked bar scattered around the seating area so your crew will never be short of entertainment options (they were even in the works of building a concert stage for the patio). For food, I got a cherry chicken wrap, which came with a side of chips. It had a fresh taste and nice ratio of ingredients — a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, and cherry slaw all wrapped tightly in a flour tortilla. For anyone looking to enjoy food, drink and good company in an outdoor area, then give this place a try!

Our friends and family absolutely adore Hop Lot. We’ve stopped in many times since Hop Lot opened, it has been a pleasure witnessing their growth and successes. Hop Lot brewery is a must when in TC, offering a delightful experience for beer enthusiasts and foodies alike. With a diverse selection of cold brews and an amazing BBQ food menu, it's a haven for those craving a delicious combination of flavors. The highlight, undoubtedly, is their expansive beer garden, providing the perfect setting to enjoy a refreshing pint. Hop Lot is great for families with their kids play area and s’mores kits. Already planning our next visit!

What a unique place!!! We came here for the first time in the fall and now need to come back in the summer when the outdoor space is lit up! Beer was great and the food equally good. We had the pulled pork and the pork bowl....so good. I would definitely recommend this place and will return.

I've been visiting Hop Lot since the day they opened, and they really put the amenities where it counts. A growing outside venue with many new food options makes this a place we keep visiting over and over. The service is always top-notch with that northern Michigan hospitality. 10/10 highly recommend!

This is one of our favorite breweries. The beer garden is amazing. They have fire pits, plenty of tables, conversation areas, a stage and wild hops growing. Inside they have cool merch for sale. The food is good! We've only had apps, but we've been happy with them. The beer is good too. It's a fun day trip from Traverse City. We like to stop into town and visit the beach when we're there.

We reserved an igloo, and as luck would have it we ended up getting a nice winter storm rolling in as we ate. It was cozy in the igloo, and the food was delicious. The smoke pit burger was a big hit.

We’re new to TC and still working our way around the food scene, but we were very happy to have picked Hop Lot for our date today! Our food was delicious - my vegan wrap was perfectly seasoned and something I could only dream of recreating at home. We liked our beer and the bartender was very friendly and personable. The music and atmosphere were A+. So relaxing and fun. We wanted to stay all day! We can’t wait to come back 😊

Coolest place near Traverse City. You can choose to eat inside, on the back enclosed “porch”, outside by a fire pit, or inside of an igloo. Scan a QR code to order your food and they’ll bring it right out to you. I chose to eat in the heated igloo. You can play your own on your phone or speaker. At least that’s what I did. The family next one igloo over had board games. I think there is a 75 minute limit for the igloo. The food was pretty tasty. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich. Not spicy enough for me but still amazing flavor. If you’re into beer and cider, they have a decent menu. I give them 4/5 stars. The parking lot and the back area is all dirt/mud so wear the proper footwear. The furniture in the igloo is more like patio lounge furniture. So if you plan to eat, I personally recommend share plates. Like pickle fries or wings. Something easy. But overall a great place to hang out.

This is an update: arrived for dinner with 7 family members to find out that 1/2 the menu was unavailable! There is no warning about this online anywhere! We were told the oven broke 3 weeks ago so there were no burgers, tacos, bowls. It made absolutely no sense to us as there were wings and some smoked items. We were amazed that the management didn’t just buy a grill as many patrons were very surprised by the no burger announcement! We stayed but I must say the portions of the pulled chicken and the pork and beef were quite smaller than usual(perhaps because all were forced to order the only available options?). A very disappointing ride of 45 minutes each way. This is Always my true destination in Suttons Bay even if the lake is beautiful and the town is sweet! I had a great burger on a pretzel roll and it was really delicious and seasoned correctly. The beer is tasty and the ambiance of the north woods with fires and lights can’t be beat. I love the great service I got with special attention to ingredients for a food allergy. I’ll be back soon!

Fantastic outdoor space. Tried the German Pils and Papa Pete's Cerveza. Both were tasty. They were backed up inside so we went to the bar outside, but had to order with a QR code. The table service was good, but too many steps to order a beer on my phone. I would have had another but didn't want to trouble with the QR code.

We stopped to try a couple tasty stouts and to check it out. We're glad we did. The ambiance at Hop Lot Brewing Co. and Beer Garden is wonderful. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating in either shade or sun. Onsite corn hole game boards and bags. Looks like they have entertainment, too.

We stopped in for an evening beer and snack and were not disappointed. Hop Lot was recommended by Jen by our local Brewery Hand Map in Battle Creek. Sitting around the fire pit we talked to a couple who were recently at Hand Map. The Beer was very good and the fries we had were perfect. Highly recommend if you are up Sutton's Bay, stop in and make some friends.

What a treat this place is! This was our first "igloo" experience, and it did not disappoint. We were toasty and warm in our igloo, and the fire outside was well-tended and hot. The entire experience, from beginning to end, was excellent. Staff were friendly, everything was neat and clean, and we even made some new fireside friends. This is a destination we will definitely be returning to...with friends!

I can’t visit the TC/Sutton’s Bay area without a stop at Hoplot. The beer is tasty, the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting and the staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely a place you can bring kids too also or just enjoy some time with your significant other or friends.

This place is awesome! The outdoor spaces are expansive and varied. There's a patio space with a large fire pit that's always lit, then a woodsy area adjacent with its own bar and tons of seating options. There's also a sand pit for kids/families, and an event space. It also looks like another bar area is currently being constructed (August 2023). We didn't try any food, but we had a couple beers and they were tasty. We will absolutely return next time we are in the area. Don't skip Hop Lot if you enjoy a good beer and a chill vibe.

Been coming here for years and absolutely love it, that is until today. We were super excited it’s our anniversary weekend had already decided what food and drinks we wanted but when we got here they didn’t have $hit. Couldn’t even order food on the app like we have always done and out of the 12 beers on tap on their website when you scan the QR code on the table there were only 6 and not one of those 6 were any I like despite liking several beers here. Was a huge waste of time to drive from our hotel to here and a massive disappointment to what’s normally one of the highlights of our yearly trip here for our anniversary. Quite frankly left me pissed off. Bad business but good way to lose faithful customers. Thanks for ruining our day!!🤬

Stopped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon so we didn't get to experience the outside beer garden. It was super packed, but they had a nice big tent out back with college football on the big screen and plenty of seating. Loved all the beers, definitely recommend the Smash Face pumpkin ale, 90 MPH Backwards hazy IPA, and Uncle Green Guy session IPA. We also enjoyed the Pickle Fries. Rain let up right when we were leaving and they were starting some fires...we'll definitely be back to enjoy that outdoor space on a dry day!

Awesome atmosphere! We got here right at open which was nice with no lines and being able to pick a seat. It got busy not too long after we arrived. Wine was tasty, we didn’t get to try a whole lot as it was our first stop on a wine tour but I would come back to try more!

Beautiful outdoor seating. This worked be wonderful on a cool evening in front of the fireplace 🙂. We ordered one flight with the charcuterie board. The board was yummy. Service was friendly. We plan on stopping back by for a couple bottles (couldn't get them in our bike bags!)

Great environment outside--fireplace, hammocks, shaded, some outdoor games. I just didn't care for the wine. I admit that I prefer sweeter wines and tried a glass of their late reisling, which they said was their sweetest. It was a Griday night, 6 PM, not busy at all tonight.

Absolutely amazing. Great views and wine. Service was OUTSTANDING. We had our dog with us and they treated her and us so well, they went above and beyond. Bob is the absolute best (Did she get her own stack of salami? She did! 🥰) PS: the pretzels are insanely good. I’m not even a pretzel person but I’d come back for more.

I'm up here in the Traverse City area doing the wine tour thing. We stop here at Shady Lanes Cellars and this place is very nice! I'm a Reisiling guy and they have a really good selection. The late harvest Reisiling was superb indeed. We tried a few other wines and they all were really good. Highly recommended!!!

We came out for the Cherryland Humane Society event. Sandy had such amazing service, very knowledgeable on wines and made our day. We also were blessed with Levi Britten and his talented music.

Can't say enough great things about Shady Lane. The two ladies that were behind the bar were amazing, We could have stayed all day. Great atmosphere and delicious Wine, Shady Lane is a required stop when visiting the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The sommelier was very friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful, and the wines were really good. I especially enjoyed the wine slushy (I can’t remember the name of it). We were even able to have our dog sit with us on the grounds.

The winery is situated in a stunning setting, making it a picturesque location. The vineyard itself is absolutely beautiful. Notably, there is a lovely patio area that offers a fantastic view of the vineyard .

I fell IN LOVE with Shady Lane 10 years ago. Out of all of the wineries, this is my FAVORITE! The buildings are beautiful and the outdoor tasting bar is stunning. Nice outdoor seating. The wine is GORGEOUS! My favorite is the Franc n Franc. However, the Cab Franc is super nice too. ( Make sure to let this one REALLY breathe ) My daughter enjoys the Late Harvest Riesling. I always keep a couple of bottles on hand for her. I have a 40 bottle wine rack filled strictly with Michigan wines. Shady Lane takes up over a 1/3. This is my 3rd birthday wine trip and I couldn't wait to come visit!

The wine was great-good pours, the staff was great-friendly and funny, they have live shows-that's great. But these people gave us a giant plastic adult Lunchable with some paper plates, not even good paper plates, they were so flimsy they flew off the table! It was in a plastic tray straight from the grocery! 🤣 They could upgrade the charcuterie presentation, it does not have to be fancy but it could be better. Other places give more variety and put a little "umph" in it We ate it though, lol, it was still good just lacking!)

This winery is truly fantastic! We had our wedding August 2022 at this venue. They offered a beautiful view of the Vineyard for the ceremony, a large barn with windows that open up for the reception. The view with phenomenal wines served at our wedding became a truly magical day for us! Thanks again <3

We held my daughter’s wedding here a couple of weeks ago. What an amazing vineyard! From the scenery to the staff… absolutely incredible! Janelle and Traci were wonderful to work with over the past year. Best decision we ever made!

Wedding Review: Similar to the last few reviews we had our wedding here October 2021. Beautiful venue & we got super lucky with the weather. Traci was a rock star and we enjoyed working with her. To enhance the experience for the price of the venue, a dedicated area for the wedding party with private bathrooms would be a welcome addition. If I was doing my wedding again, I most likely would not book again, but it was beautiful for the day. The location is beautiful & the wine was VERY yummy. If they chose to improve the accommodations, it would be worth the money for me.

I was recently at Ciccone Vineyard & Winery for a wedding this past weekend and I had a wonderful time. The views were outstanding, the wine was spectacular, and the service was amazing. Tina and Gino were two of the personnel that gave terrific service as well as the rest of the team. I look forward to returning in the future.

We chose Ciccone Winery as the venue for our August 2019 wedding. The location is ideal as it sits right off of M-22, halfway between Traverse City and Sutton’s Bay. Their rustic barn was perfect for the evenings dancing and entertainment. The views of the vineyard and West Grand Traverse Bay were breathtaking, making an awesome backdrop to our beautiful day. Last, but not least, the staff and wedding coordinator did an excellent job of organizing the days events and making us feel extra special. We highly recommend Ciccone Winery if you are interested in a Leelanau Peninsula wedding experience.

Recently had my wedding at the winery a couple of weekends ago. The winery is gorgeous, and the staff was absolutely amazing! Traci did an outstanding job as the event coordinator, going over every detail and helping out every step of the way. She did a wonderful job making sure the day went perfect even if the weather didn't want to cooperate. The wine is outstanding, and overall my husband and I couldn't be happier!

Bianca wine here is one of my favorite local wines. The tasting room/sales floor is not large, and now serves a lot of ciders, but it's a casual, fun environment.

The winery is situated in a stunning setting, overlooking Lake Michigan, making it a picturesque location. The vineyard itself is absolutely beautiful. Notably, there is a lovely patio area that offers a fantastic view of both the vineyard and the lake. The new owner, Tracey, is incredibly welcoming and adds to the overall charm of the place.

The most beautiful view. Staff was so kind and informative. The wine pours were large. Have been to a lot of winery’s in the area and this place is the best I’ve visited!

Willow Vineyards is worth visiting for the view, which overlooks rows of vines and the Grand Traverse Bay. The tiny tasting room doubles as a boutique with wine-themed gifts and souvenirs. Only a handful of wines are available and the wine flights are tiny (but affordable), but the view makes up for it.

Beautiful winery with exceptional service! The views are spectacular 🤩 they reserved us a nice table outside on the patio 20 minutes before we arrived and even brought our 2-year old a goodie basket for him to choose some treats. The rosé was yummy, easy drinking, dry, not too sweet - we enjoyed 2 bottles 😋 we had a great time!

The best winery in northern Michigan. Small, cozy, best wines and even better service and friendly atmosphere. Hard pressed to find a better view as well. Happy to see its back up in running and the new owner is fantastic. Thanks

Out of all the stops we made this weekend, this was our favorite. The drive was a bit steep but the man behind the counter was very personable. We highly recommend this off the road gem. The sangria alone is worth the stop.

This is one of our favorite wineries to go to! The staff is incredibly friendly and the tasting room has amazing views of the vineyard. The sangria is amazing and something we have returned for multiple years in a row to take home. The late harvest Riesling is great, too!

The staff was very nice, but the driveway was a bit sandy/steep and the wine isn't quite as good as other options. It is off the beaten path but can't say I'd recommend it if you have a lot of places you want to go.

We had been so busy doing weddings that we thought we would try to get away for a couple of days and rent a cottage up north with our two bearded collies, Winchester and Angel Annabelle Rose. We found a place that sounded really nice, a private secluded cottage in a vineyard on Suttons Bay that excepted dogs, wow, What could be nicer, right? (WRONG). After driving about five hours to our destination, our hosts Patti and Mark Carlson, had left the key in the cottage with a note to call them when we got there and they would be right over. After leaving a couple of messages, we didn't hear back, which was no big deal. The cottage was very cute. We layed out a blanket and sat outside just enjoying being away for a couple of days. We were greeted by a big friendly black dog. Seemed nice enough. Well about one hour later someone pulls up, and says are you staying here. We said yes and introduced ourselves. The was one of the host's (Patti). The very first words out of her mouth were, "ARE THESE THE DOGS", I thought they were little and not so shaggy. Clearly she was not happy and she was not very nice. I tried to engage in conversation with her and her answers we either yes, no, or no response. She asked if we could leave the dogs outside during our stay. We were horrified. What were we going to do now. Five hours away from home with our two dogs and feeling very unwelcome. I got the yellow pages out and called every rental and no one excepted dogs. We finally lucked out and found a great a cottage in Maple City called Paul's Paradise. This cottage was great. The owner couldn't have been nicer, the location was great, a few yards from Little Traverse Lake, with it's own row boat, and kayaks. What a find, We will be going back next year. But I would never recommend Silver Leaf to anyone. This was a terrible experience. That could have ended in disaster.

So really winery and vineyard is right along the lake Leelanau wine trail. We got to visit while we were doing the harvest stampede in 2019. We tried a lot of different ones but nothing really tickled our fancy. I don’t know if you could call the woman who was pouring the wine a sommelier. It seemed like she was the person who drew the short straw and had to be there that day. The tasting room is quaint but not something I would write home about.

A beautiful setting to spend an afternoon tasting wine. Indoor and outdoor tables, a playground for the kids. For $19, you get a flight of five wines to taste. The wine is good. The pizza is also good. There are also other snacks available. The only disappointment was that there isn't anyone to answer questions about how the wine is made, etc.

On Saturday, January 15th our group if 7 women stopped at the winery. We were greeted at the door by Connie, as there was a private event inside but, she seated us in the enclosed outdoor heated patio. It was perfect. The sun was shining and we gathered around the fire pit enjoying the wine and pizza. Connie, made us all feel so welcome that when we reflected back on our day, we call it Connie's winery. She was an exceptional server. The pizza was amazing too! Can't wait to come back again

Updating review for the new location. Must stop along the wine trail! Same great wines, new location set on sprawling property within grape vines & apple trees. Plenty of outdoor seating and great prices for by the glass/bottle wine, too! There was live music when we were there to add to the relaxing ambiance. Still a bit under construction but they are fully up and running, with good food options for lunch. Friendly staff… we will return!

Enjoy a flight of wine, 5 sample glasses for under $20. They had live music while we visited (Thursday night). Excellent scenery, great staff, and the food looked great but we didn't partake. They also had a nice little playground for children and lots of outdoor (covered and not) seating.

We loved the spacious outdoor setting at French Valley Vineyard. We both had our own wine flight and we shared their charcuterie board, it was delicious!

Lovely vineyard with not only a gorgeous indoor space but a beautiful outdoor area with covered and uncovered seating options. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful and Julie especially went out of her way to make us feel welcome. And of course, a variety of wine selections sure to please everyone. We will be back!

The entrance was very confusing to find amidst the yard of cluttered miscellaneous junk. Upon entering and approaching the counter, my shoes immediately stuck to the dirty floor. The disheveled guy behind the counter finally approached me, vape in hand, to ask what he could get me. I was one of 5 people in the tasting room, all huddled together to avoid the stacks of musty papers and boxes. Overall, the extremely dirty room and sticky counter was very off-putting, to include the bare foot owner coming around to refill our drinks. The wine was decent, but way overpriced compared to the surrounding area’s. Would not recommend.

Definitely worth the stop. Great and inexpensive wines. They're packaged right in front of you. Nothing like any of the other wineries you'll be stopping at. Run by a single kind man who is friendly, but reserved. Tiny in comparison to the big wineries but provides an intimate glimpse into the reality of running a winery. Would recommend stopping here for a taste and a bottle. Bonus points if you know how to play the piano. P.S. Yes, there will be fruit flies. I read some of the other reviews and I'm surprised that some people don't understand that wineries have fruit flies - ALL wineries do. It's part of dealing with fruit (and wine is made from grapes). If you're uncomfortable with harmless fruit flies, then I don't know what to tell you.

This is a vibe. Felt like a proper hidden gem. The DeChanauc red is an interesting find- a proper musky smell on top, on the mouth it has a pleasant earthy taste that made me feel like I was in the vineyard, and over time lends a raspberry finish on the aftertaste. For ~$20 this is a cool wine to have on the shelf, with a good story of a winemaker pulling this kind of quality out of a Michigan grown red grape. Don’t come here thinking that you’ll have a luxury experience, come to hang taste and talk about wine with no frills.

Great experience! Nathaniel , one of the vintners invited us in to taste some of his handcrafted wines. We weren't disappointed at all. His Marsanne orange wine was superb....and quite unique. He impressed me with his knowledge and devotion to his craft. I'll be back .

This may look like a smaller winery but the wine and staff are amazing! Of all the wineries we went to this is the one I would pick to return to. They are a little pricier but after you taste the wine you'll understand why.

Took two $45 bottles of wine home from this place only to open them and have them taste like spoiled kombucha. Who knows what he was having me taste while I was at winery to make the sale, but it certainly wasn’t what he sold me. Such a disappointment. So many wineries in the region, best to spend your money elsewhere.

Wow, if I could rate this a zero I would. We stopped in here during the Taste of the Season. It was a scary place dark and dirty inside, the food offering was dried up. Lots of clutter inside and outside. I am not sure why they are on the winery list. Don't stop here.

Why this 8 person capacity tasting room is on the Taste of the Season tour I will never understand. They obviously don't want to sell any wine. 2 years in a row. Not going back.

Some of the best wine I have ever had. If you are looking for a tasting off the beaten path you must stop here. We had the opportunity to talk to the winemaker. He was so personable!! This is honestly some of the best wine I have ever tasted. He really took the time to connect with us and explain everything. Such a genuinely nice guy. Highly recommend stopping by to meet a vintner who is happy to share about his wines.

Awesome little winery tucked away on the peninsula. They had some of the best reds around and many if not all were aged very well. They also have a very good ruby port that I would recommend to anyone! It was just my wife and I when we stopped by and Riley who waited on us was very knowledgeable and hospitable especially with all the social distancing measures. Do not pass this places up. Prices for bottles are a litter higher then elsewhere but the wine, especially the reds are worth it.

The museum had free admission. The greeters, busy doing crafts, were friendly. There were lovely handmade earrings and some interesting educational materials to take back to our homeschool group. The exhibits were authentic.

Loved visiting here. The docent was so informative and genuinely interested in us as well as the museum & history it houses. Nice bookstore/giftshop, too.

The Eyaawing Museum has a nice display at Turtle Creek Casino off US-31 between Traverse City and Elk Rapids. It's on an upper level of the casino in the walkway between the hotel and casino. It's a great thing to share on a #DiscoveryMichigan #CasinoTour or #CulturalTour

Had an amazing weekend out in Traverse City. Two K Farms Cidery & Winery was my first stop. The staff was very helpful and gave me recommendations on their favorites. I really enjoyed myself here and will definitely come again.

Thank you Two K Farms❣ The wine & Cider is really delicious and it was fun to hear all about the different ones. Cooper knows his stuff so it made it extra fun to pick our flights. I've been visiting Two K Farms for over 7 years, and they remain one of the best cideries in Northern Michigan! They have something for everyone - from the beginner cider drinker to cider enthusiast - you will find something that you love. Definitely worth a visit, or two!!

One of the few cideries that I have found that actually incorporates different varieties of apples to create memorable flavors in the cider. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, along with a stellar view. I actually found them online during the pandemic and had ciders shipped to me in Indiana. I love going here too. Lovely little cidery and winery with a big porch to sit and enjoy your drinks. We each tried some wines and ciders which were excellent, especially their dryer ciders. Dogs are allowed which is another plus for us.

This may be my new favorite cider place! Very cool atmosphere inside and out. Quite comfortable with lots of unique selections as far as hard ciders and wines with lots of "Two K Farms" memorabilia. Nic (Nicole) was very nice to work with and very professional.

Two K was our last stop of our “wine tour” for the weekend, even though it was the end of a long day, they made us feel welcomed, knowledgeable about what drink we’d like individually and gave great advice and opinions in our selections. The Radler was hands down one of the best sweet ciders I’ve had. And the Pommeau was a big hit with the friends with me. 10/10 would definitely go back. Great drinks, friendly staff and AMAZING view!!

A beautiful store in a beautiful place. We have been going to this shop since 2007. 2 years ago, we visited, and the owner said that they were closing. When we returned this Memorial Day weekend, we were very happy to see that it was open with new owners (Lee and Cindy). Very kind owners, and incredible selection of unique yard decorations and art. Our favorite store in the entire Traverse City area. A must see if you are in the area. Can't wait to go back and see the store and Lee and Cindy.

We get pieces of glass for our yard every year we are up there. Lots of nice yard art decorations. Definitely if you have a few minutes to walk around the place and take a look at all the different glass work. Some really nice stainless pieces for inside your home also. Lots of different gift ideas for different people.

Bayside Gallery in Sutton Bay, Michigan is a great place just to walk around. So many unique and interesting items. The colorful decorative glass out front certainly grand your attention. There are more subtle pieces inside the store. From whimsical to classy, there is almost certainly something to suit your taste. We purchased a lighted glass yard ornament and they made sure it worked before wrapping it carefully for our trip back to Ohio. It looks great in our yard.
