World heritage site, national park. Above 2000m sea level this is a spectacular cloud forest with breath taking bio diversity. There is a ticket fee for the vehicle and individual adults. Tickets are different in price for locals and tourists. There are two main hikes. The 8-9 km wolds end loop - words end, mini worlds end - far spanning view points with great sun rises and views) , bakers fall. And the 7 km (14 km round trip) kirigalpoththa hike. Many endemic bird and plant species. Many other non endemic birds and amphibians. Large groups of Sambar dear can be seen. A strict no polythene zone. Bags are checked before they let you enter.

Very nice scenery and easy hike. Best be there between 7-10am, after that it can get cloudy. 4 stars because of the price (30$) which is a bit exagerated compared to other parks in Sri Lanka.

Its a really great place to visit with your family and friends. Beautiful nature. Cold weather. Variates of plants and birds. Its a 8 km journey where you get to see the Mini Worlds End then the Great World's End and then Baker's Fall. There are also places located for camping as well. Not just these but you get to explore some more mountain peaks as well. I suggest you to get a leaflet on the entrance which cost you about 100 Srilankan Rs. Come enjoy the nature, the journey, the atmosphere, the experience in Horton Plains.

Mesmerizing nature with beautiful mountains and greenery all around. This is by far one of the best national parks Sri Lanka has to offer. The rich biodiversity makes this an interesting place. Of course, it is most renowned for the world's end, mini world's end and the bakers fall all of which are must see places. It would take 3-4 hours to cover the entire loop (depends on how fast you walk). Be prepared for the cold, if you are trekking in the morning but plastics/polythene is not allowed. The best time to visit would be early morning 6-10am to both avoid the crowd and to see world's end without any obstructions from the mist. As later on (after 11-12 noon) mist would start to settle in).

Absolutely loved this place. I can see in some of the other reviews some negative points about the ticket counter, but we had a really positive experience and the exchange rate used was spot on (we checked on the way to the park to make sure). The ticket man was friendly, so a good start. As for the price? I truly don’t think it’s expensive but I guess that’s subjective. You pay the same price for two cocktails in London and only gain a headache from that! The park itself was spotlessly clean and breathtaking. I applaud the park keepers for checking bags and removing plastics (apart from water bottles - but even the labels come off!). So many different things to see on the walk/hike. Unfortunately we did not see any animals, and the view from worlds end was completely cloudy, but we did get a good view from mini worlds end. Overall a really enjoyable time and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves for the most part.

A world class heritage that everyone on the planet must visit and feel the spirited breath in the Horton Plains. Two main entrance, one is from Ohiya road and other entrance from Pattipola. The national park opens at 6.00am till 6.00pm. But entrance to the park limited only till 3.00pm if I'm not wrong. Three main trains; Thotupalakanda, Kirigalpoththa and World's end trails. World's end trail about 5km+ and with the speed and the time you spend as a nature lover it varies between 3 hours to 5 hours to complete the trail. Morning hours and the evening hours are the best to feel the coldness of the nature. The cloud forest will give you amazing experience. Officers doing there best to protect the nature and no polyethene allowed to the park and which is wise decision. Just as a tip, follow the left side from the world's end starting point junction which will not give you much tired for your journey. Make sure to protect the nature and do not bring any thing from Horton plains and make sure to keep only the footstep there.

It's completely another World. Pictures or even videos cannot express that. Please visit there and feel for yourself!. It's cold but very pleasant feeling to the body. It could rain time to time and sunny back again. Weather is changing drastically

One of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka, Horton Plain is a very famous tourist spot. From now on, the officers will carry out a very high level of environmental control and dispose of plastic polythene etc. very properly and without giving any space to carry them inside, therefore the environment there will be very clean and minimum pollution. Some days there are very thick fogg so be aware of the weather conditions before visiting. In this, it is possible to visit places like Baker's Falls, Little World's End, and besides, animals like elks can also be seen in abundance. Be careful not to destroy the environment when you visit this

You can have an amazing views while walking in the paths. Have to walk around 9 km till come back to parking area. There is a small canteen near the car park. Polythenes are not allowed to take inside the park.

The park itself is amazing! We saw lots of deer! The vegetation is beautiful and very different to the rest of Sri Lanka since it's a cloud forest! The round walk takes about 3h with stops in between. Make sure to wear good footwear! Worlds end is the best! One star less for the high price. The price is rising every week! Last week it was 11.700 Rs for 2 adults, today it was 12.280 Rs. I've never done such an expensive hike!

The most magical looking place to be for nature lovers. cold climate but the sun was shining bright and day we went it was clear with no mist. the pathway to worlds end is somewhat difficult but rewarding once you reach it. There is a canteen at the entrance if you want to eat something. Snacks are allowed but cannot take plastic bottles or food wrapped in polytene. You can see plenty of little birds and Sambar Deers and If you are lucky enough can get a glimpse of a leopard as well 🐆 Horton plains can be claimed to be one of the most beautiful places to visit in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful landscape, very peaceful and fun! There are deers but we saw all of them before entering the trek which was weird. The big setback is the entrance price. It feels way overpriced in my opinion. Sidenote, any food with plastic bags such as snacks or nylon bags is not allowed and they check the bags so be aware of that. Also the path is circular and it seems that going counter-clockwise (starting from the right side) is easier to take. Lastly, it's better to start the hike when the park opens (6 am) because at noon the place gets really hot. So start early and bring a light jacket for the first hour or so.

Well maintained national park for trekking and seeing the beauty of nature. No plastics allowed to take in side the park. Approx 3 hours journey to reach both Worlds end and Bakers falls.

Most people come here to see Worlds End and Bakers Falls. It is a scenic location but as others comment at $36 (you must pay in cash), it's an expensive and busy 3hr hike. If you come at dawn (6am) as recommended to get clear views, you could also hike to Kirigalpotta, Sri Lanka's 2nd highest mountain which will be much quieter... We didn't do it as we arrived later and you have to start this path before 11am! But you need to agree it with your taxi in as they need to wait while you are in the park. Single use plastics are not allowed (other than water).

Great hike, we started around 8am, and made it to the world end cliff by 9:30 by an easy walk, plenty of time before the clouds cover the valley which I think will happen after 10. We did the entire hike about 9 km and it took us about 4 hours.

Nice place to hike. Wonderful experience to cherish forever. Should start your hike at 6. Then you can leave with in 4 hours. Its a circle way trail. There are paths. You can choose which one to start. One is from Baker's fall, great world end, mini world end and the entrance. We visited 30 people. It's a package. We paid 7310/= as the entrance ticket.

Horton Plains National Park sits in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, just 32 kilometers away from Nuwara Eliya. Getting there is a treat in itself, as you can take the Boralanda-Ohiya road, known as one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful routes, or the Nuwara Eliya-Ambewela road. When you arrive, you’ll need to buy a ticket at the counter. It costs 400 rupees for a vehicle and 150 rupees for a local adult, including VAT. The park’s main attractions include Mini World’s End, Great World’s End, and Baker’s Waterfall. To see them, you’ll have to hike along a 9-kilometer trail, which takes about 3.5 to 4 hours for the average adult. If you’re with older or younger folks, it might take longer. This isn’t your usual walk in the park. The trail is steep and narrow, which can be tough if you’re not used to exercising. Plus, there’s no mobile signal, adding to the adventure. Personally, I found it challenging and maybe not worth it. Since it’s a tough journey, make sure to bring water and snacks. At the checkpoint, they’ll check your bag and take away any polythene items, giving you paper covers for your snacks. Also, they don’t allow energy drinks like Redbull or Milo.

It was a lovely sunny day. The hike took about 4 hours, 9km. There are some difficult areas, but manageable. I recommend starting from Baker's falls side and then going to World's End.

Best hike I’ve had in Sri Lanka! Beautiful view, it’s also a bit challenging. You better start your hike at 6am to have the best view otherwise it gets misty. You also get so lots of animals if you look closely

Fantastic hike in a national Park. Very easy hike that was accessible to all ages from toddlers to senior citizens with disabilities. Most of the guest were in flip-flops and had no hiking supplies

Very good place but have to walk a lot and it has 3 points to visit 1.Worlds End 2.Mimi Worlds End 3. Bakers fall all 3 places are very beautiful, the total hike may take about 4 hours, they would not let you take plastic item but if biscuits or other snacks they will provide a paper bag so you can take your food and enjoy. After all very good place to visit recommended for everyone but small children may find it difficult and it will even be hard to cary them considering it has about 6km+ and very hard paths (the hardest path is the path from mini worlds end to start) and I had a great time visiting this place and enjoying it so I recommend you guys too.😉🗻

A great place for nature lovers. You get to see birds, Sambar deer and many other animals. If you are really lucky you could even get to see the Sri Lankan leopard as well. Best you prepare yourself with proper wear for the Walk. Do not bring any sort of plastic and it is prohibited. The best time is to come in the morning.

The park will open 6 AM to 4 PM everyday however the entrance gates will close after 2PM since the trial normally takes more than 3 hours you complete (12 KM). Recommended to start early as much as possible if you are planning to do the nature walk. High biodiversity were there don’t bring plastics or polytine.

Total hike take about 4hrs. Better to start early 6 am or in the evening around 4.(Hike will be difficult during day hours. You will not be allowed to take any plastic items. Plastic water bottle is allowed. If you take biscuit they will give paper bags you can remove the plastic bag put the biscuit to the paper bags. Enjoy 😉.

Beautiful area with lots of activities including horse riding, jet boat, jet skiing and dining. Very busy at the main parking area. But there are many other small car parks along the lake. Good views at sunset and sunrise. Most of the water sports activities run between 8.00 am to 6.00pm.

You can very cool , suddenly changing climate with stunning breath taking surrounding, I am very sure that no matter what stress you go here, you will come back as a fresh person due to this great location

Gregory Lake used to be a bog back in the day and had been through some times of tribulation. But once it was renovated by Sir Gregory, the lake was later stocked with fish by a Government Agent (C. J. R. Le Mesurier) in 1881 (which accounts for much of the fauna within it); and in 1913, the lake’s water was directed through a tunnel to power a hydro power station, which it continues to do to this day.

One of my most favourite places in Sri Lanka... 🥰 You can witness a very relaxing and peaceful environment if you visit there on a week day since it is less crowded.. 😊 It's a well-maintained wonderful place filled with beautiful flowers and natural beauty! 😍 Entrance ticket fee for locals is just 120 LKR (as at October, 2023). 😊

We traveled to Nuwara Eliya last week which means December. The rainy season was already started. The mist was covered the area. But still the scenery was pretry awesome. Light rain made things more beautiful. Gregory lake is an iconic place of Nuwara Eliya. Very calm that time. Was not a crowdy place luckily. Jetskies and boat services were there. 1000 for per person as I remember. We didn't have a chance to go so. The place is not free. There is a counter there. Paid place. Horse riding is also available to have a great experience. 💛 This is a great place to have good photo shots, videos and everything. I could take some good pictures. Kids can have some fun there. 'Cause no risk and have nothing to worry about. Couples can spend a romantic time with their partner. Coffee and other baverages are Expensive. PARKING is available for any vehicle. Weekends are busy so better you go there at a week day.

Spanning 225 acres, Lake Gregory is the place to go for water activities in Nuwara Eliya, with the park serving as a great spot for picnics. You can find little ponies trotting along on the grass and boats that you could hire to go out on the lake and enjoy some serenity away from the noise. Jet Skis are also available for hire, and you could take part in some windsurfing here as well! If you need to get away from the sun, there are private little huts where you can relax, and if you’re hungry, there is no shortage of food stalls in the park, selling you a variety of snacks and local delicacies. If you want to visit the park but you find yourself short for time, there’s no need to worry, because seaplanes can be hired from Colombo that would fly you to Gregory Lake in under 30 minutes! The lake is open everyday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, but avoid the weekends as it becomes very crowded. Entrance fees of LKR 200. The best time to visit is between April and May as this is when the weather is most pleasant.

Many activities available, many flowers and plants. All the stalls offer the same foods and beverages so no need to check every stall😂😂. Jet skis and speed boats are awesome. Also they got ample parking space. Two big parking lots. Toilet facilities available. Peaceful environment.

Gregory Lake, a reservoir near Nuwara Eliya, was built when the British were in power. The environment is really cool and clean. Definitely a relaxing environment.

It was a lovely happening place. Kids love it. Lot of activities to do near and around it. Nice food stores too where you get them hot . Better to be there on a sunny day from morning and can stay in the evening if not so cold or misty.

Just 3 KM away from city center of Nuwara Elliya, this beautiful lake withholds the emblem of British Colonial vibe - on one side you see a lot of horses( mind the loo on sidewalks!), on the other, you have crisp blue water lake where you can ply by boats and fancy carriages. Also, there is a food corner too. Only drawback I found was, you have to pay 300 Sri Lankan Rupees just for entry. A little absurd the pricing. Apart from it, its a very soothing place to walk around.

nice and clean place to spend a good time you can do boat ride there is a several types but i prefer the classic one you will enjoy more and pay less. the view of the the lake is so beautiful and there a penalty of nice shoots you can take.

A lake worth visiting if nearby, either to walk along its banks (day or night) wherever a walkway has been developed, or to try a seaplane or helicopter experience taking off from dedicated locations.

Gregory lake is the best thing we saw and experienced on our recent Nuwereliya trip. It is a large and gorgeous mountain valley lake. We walked around it at Gregory park and also took a boat ride on it. The boat ride lasted around 10 minutes. In that time we saw a lot scenery and beautiful countryside that surrounds this lake. This lake and its surrounding is much better today than it was when I visited Nuwereliya in the 1990s as a kid. In those days this lake was covered with wild water weeds and there wasn't a nice park around it.

I had an exceptional experience at a location offering a wide range of activities like horse riding or jetski, surrounded by lush flowers and plants. All the stalls served identical, delicious food and beverages, eliminating the need to explore each one. The jet skis and speed boats provided an exhilarating adventure, and the presence of two spacious parking lots made your visit convenient. The availability of clean toilet facilities added to the overall comfort, creating a serene and enjoyable environment.

Entrance fee is 600LKR for foreigners. Flowers not full in bloom, mostly just planted. Not busy in the morning, good for walk/ run. but would have expected the place to be more properly maintained. Toilets available inside for free.

Lake Gregory was a lovely spot to relax and take in the scenery. I arrived evening and enjoyed a peaceful walk along the path. The views of the hills and tea plantations surrounding the lake were stunning. I walk hours and rode around the full perimeter of the lake, which was a great way to see everything. There were also swan paddle boats and other boat options available for rent, which looked like fun for families. Overall, I would recommend Lake Gregory to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the town center and enjoy some fresh air and exercise

Very well maintained and clean lake in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. At the height of 1874 meters it was built in 1873. This lake was earlier (during British times) used for water sports. Please note there is an entry ticket of Rs. 600 for foreign nationals. There are multiple boat operators which still conduct water sports and boating activities. Please refer to the images for the rates.

Nice to walk around the lake but be prepared to dodge mud puddles! It is a bit strange to pay Rs3000 to walk around a lake but someone has to maintain the gardens I guess. Something you do because you’re there as opposed to a destination in itself.

Great experince in tea factory! We had great young lady as a guide who showed us complete process of tea collecting and manufacturing. One small bad remark, please start to colect the rubbish between the plants in your yards. It will surely improve the impression of the customers :)

Great views, the history behind this tea centre was that it was created by the British more than 100 years ago and is still operational, a full scale tea factory, showing you stop by step how the teas and made. Quite interesting, you then have the option to purchase many different teas afterwards.

Nice and quiet place. Tried out the Tea and some varieties of cakes. Tea is perfect as well as the cake. Location is beautiful and car park has a scenic background view of the mountains. A good place to take pictures. There is a stall to buy factory products as well.

They gave complementary factory tour and tea tasting in their lounge. They also have a local tea in their store which may not be found on the shelf but you can ask for it at the billing counter. It is cheap as compared to other variety kept for tourist.

Great Milk Tea but the Chocolate Cake isn't that much quality. But if you really need a best tea experience you can go for it and the atmosphere is so attractive also the Packaging of Tea seems creative and impressive

Very lovely short tour of the factory from a very knowledgeable guide. After, followed up by a delicious cup of tea at the center/shop. A lovely stop! It seems to be a bit less crowded with tourists compared to some of the other factories on the road, so this was a big plus to me!

By visiting here, you can know how the tea is made. I didn’t have much knowledge about tea, but guide explained clearly and could know well about the process and type of teas. Worth to visit even it is far from another sightseeing place. I didn’t see another tea factories, so could compare with others. Seems there are so many factories, so better to ask someone who knows well. But I can recommend here.

Came here for a quick lunch today. The food served in buffet style was of excellent quality, and the taste was great. Clear recommendation for the restaurant. I have neither visited the tea plantation nor the fsctory. Therefore, I can not comment.

Amazing experience to take a tour around the factory, amazing guide who was very knowledgeable, tour is free but it would be customary to tip the guide if you can! Definitely worth going out of your way to see and doing the extra distance past the more commercial factory which the tours are not so good at! Also a lot quieter so tours are done privately rather than in big groups.

This park opens around 8:30 am and the ticket price for locals are Rs. 50/- Parking is available outside the park by the road where you have to pay a parking fee to the ticket attendant. If you are a bird photographer, highly recommend going at 7am or 4pm as there are a lot of migrant and local birds during that time. Since the ticket counter is not open at 7am, you can leave your Identity card with the security guard and go in and pay the ticket counter when you leave and collect your ID card in return. The park usually gets very crowded during weekends and he day time. If yo love flowers, then the best time to visit is in April when all the flowers are in full bloom. Average time you can spend inside the park is around 1 hour. They have toilets and and a small canteen (Food shop) inside the park.

This Victoria Park charges 500 rupees, foreigners and locals alike. Decided to go for this one instead of the other bigger one as they overcharge foreigners (2000 rupees) for a public garden. This park is smaller but still has a good variety of colourful flowers livening up the place. Good for a 30-40 min stroll.

This park is really beautiful one. Full of greenery, a variety of plants could be seen. Of course when I went in Feb, they were planting flowers plants, I am sure after two to three months it would be heaven. Very peaceful, you can relax there. For foreigners they charge 500 rupee (1.5 dollars) not a big amount when we see the beauty. Place is clean and neat, except the river which flows..of course they are not responsible for it. Thanks for the gardeners those who really take care of the place. Worth visiting.

One of the most famous parks in Nuwara Eliya city limits. Perfect for a morning or evening stroll. Have two entrances from opposite ends. Have to obtain tickets to enter the premises. Kids park can be accessed through the main park. Environment is calm and nice. A must visit place for a person having a great time in Nuwara Eliya.

Lovely park with beautiful plants and the supervisor gardener Tony is fabulous. He gave us a free tour and picked flowers so that we could smell them. He knows all of their names and has been looking after the park for 25 years. Well worth a visit.

Opened in 1899 this is an awesome and beautiful park. So many flowers, trees and nature to see and admire. Some trees are over hundred years old. Best seen in April. A must visit place in Nuwereliya. A heartfelt tribute to the hardworking staff who maintain and keep this park so beautiful.

The park itself has plenty of plants and flowers, all looks healthy and enough staff / gardeners to take care and keep it clean. Just don't feel fair when the ticket for foreigners is 500 Rs, 5 times more than locals (100 Rs). It would be helpful if there was more information or map... or maybe just a bottle of water included in the ticket.

A beautiful park in Nuwara Eliya . Lots of shade along the paths and quite large in scale. They did have some renovations going on when I visited so it'll most likely look even better in the future .

Nice big park. Suitable for morning or evening stroll. There is a children playing area which is more suitable for grown kids. For toddlers there is only few things to play with. The childern park train was not working when we were there.

Went there around 9.30am. Our kid tried all the play items in the kiddies area. Got to the car after 11 am, just before the rain started falling. Had a short walk in the normal section, all the flowers were prepped and looking pretty.

If I live here for two to three days, I would have loved to devour a book while picnicking. Not a must for tourists unless you want to unwind and relax without much physical strain.

Small park where you have to pay entry for a not very beautiful garden. If you have time to relax there then it's probably a good idea because you have a lot of greens where you can lay/ sit without having traffic around you. Also very close to nice food!

Beautiful place to see while going to Nuwaraeliya, or Hakgala botanical garden. There is a small stream making small waterfall behind the kovil. I don't know exact historical value in this place. Inside there are few God statues. And space for sit, pray and wait area,Toilets also available but no wheelchair access. They mentioned no photographs

Ravana came to South India in search of his brother as she had just told him that he had insulted her and cut off her nose saying that she was a monkey due to her black body color. Ravana Lakshman returned to Sri Lanka with her elder brother's wife Seetha as they could not be found. However, Rawana retains Sita with all the amenities of this Sita Eliya area or the Royal Garden in the Ashoka Garden, located in his Lankapura, close to that hill station. This temple is believed to be the place where she used to bathe. This is where Hanuman or the semi-dwarf man finds her. However, during the Rama-Ravana war, Vibheeshna was betrayed by Ravana's younger brother (which was said to be the result of a local power struggle) due to the local power struggle between the Yaksha Raksha Deva and the Naga tribes. A beautiful temple in nuwars eliya. It’s called the Seetha Amman temple or the sri Ramajayam temple. Beautiful views outside, hilly, lovely weather. Nice guide. We were travelling on road and had a wonderful driver and guide. Divine peaceful temple. Legend has it that Sita was kept at this place and the stream nearby is where she bathed and the stone carving is where she worshipped. It's a wonderful place to visit, and it's in Nuwara Eliya town. A bus service runs every 20 minutes. When we visited, it was nice and quiet. The footprint of Lord Hanuman can be found in the river behind the temple. Pooja products can be purchased in front of the shop. Ravana's imprisonment of Seetha is well known, and Hanuman has helped Ramar in his search for Seetha. There are many "Ramayana" sources available to read if you're interested in learning more about history. There is no photography allowed inside the temple. Behind the temple, the river flows.

Construction in the Temple was going on. The surroundings were green and the water was cold in the stream flowing adjacent to the temple. Idols were beautiful and in 100 LRS you can get Pooja done by the pujaari. Photography of the main temple is prohibited.

Entrance is free and donations are accepted. Used to be a little kovil under a tree (more than a decade ago). Currently a nice Hindu kovil constructed with contributions by devotees of both India and Sri Lanka. Parking available alongside the main road. Located about 20 mins away along one (of four) of the access roads to Nuwara Eliya - from Ella through Hakgala. The village (Seetha Eliya) is one of the places in Sri Lanka named after characters, incidents of Ramayana (one of the two important epics of Hinduism, the other being the Mahābhārata). These places are yet to be established by way of scientific and archeological evidence, but are named based on centuries old folklore and beliefs. Some other popular places are - Ravana Ella, Ravana Cave, Ussangoda, Rumassala. Worth a visit during your travels to Nuwara Eliya. Sri Rama Jayam!

The place is actually quite nice but they are not very professional. The timetables are not updates anywhere, we entered the factory and got told to go to the shop for a tour guide but at the shop they told us the factory was closed. We sat at the shop going to have the tea tasting but they jut left us for ten minutes and then told us they were closeting (at midday) we managed to get a cup of tea in the end (100lkr which works out cheaper than the tasting weirdly…) Then we were left to walk around the plantation but no one cared about us so felt quite weird. Definitely not engaging but I guess ok for a walk if the doors are open…

We’ve been to many tea factories in Sri Lanka, it’s all very similar. You will take the tour around the factory (20 minutes) and then you will be given a tea ☕️. After that, you can buy some tea at their shop. But they are wholesaler so there is not too much to buy. The tour guide was nice and explained everything.

We decided on doing the classic tea factory tour. Let me just put it like this: it's an incredibly short tour and you will not learn almost nothing about tea that you probably didn't know before. Especially if you like tea as we did. If we and the other didn't ask questions, it would be a complete waste of time and money. Plantations themselves are very nice but the factory and the production part of the property are very basic.

Lovely old tea factory in the hills. we were given a tour of the factory and shown how the leaves are processed. At the end we got to taste 2 kinds of tea. The tea is brewed for exactly 5 minutes.

We booked the factory tour and tea tasting. Factory tour was okay, a bit short but we liked it. The tea tasting was a disappointment. It is very expensive (1100 rupees per person) and they advertise it as a demonstration at the factory. But they only served us six cups of tea at the terrace without any explanation. We asked that they at least tell us a bit about the different teas which they did. But sometimes the answers were a bit strange. I asked if any of the teas is to be drunk with milk and the answer was no. Later I found a detailed text in the same shop that says that three out of the six teas are to be drunk with milk. We also asked what tea they use for the cup we liked the most and got three different answers, which makes it really hard if you want to buy some at the shop. All in all it was an authentic experience but it didn't feel professional.

Of the two tea factories I’ve been to here in Sri Lanka this one was better. More immersive experience that actually took you down onto the factory floor to feel the process more. Also, the tea they sold in the tea shop was much cheaper than the other place and more reasonable. They’ll give you a free cup of tea as a taster and then option to purchase from the shop. Very nice experience.

We enjoyed the factory visit with great explanations of the tea manufacturing process, followed by having a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea. Unlike other places I've been to, they are not eager to make you buy their tea, so you can peacefully enjoy the visit, enjoy a cup of tea (two in my case 😊). But make sure to buy a pack of tea or loose tea as you like, as they sell some of the best teas produced in Ceylon.

The place is beautiful and nice. I joined afternoon tea factory tour and tea picking. I was visiting different tea factory before near Kandy. Previous one was better. I had high expectations here. So it was bit upset about it. Tour is very big group. Sometimes hard to see or hear when guide lady was speaking. I was expecting to have nice cup of tea. They served because I request… otherwise, they don’t serve even they charge fee for factory tour. I felt kindness is less this place. Atmosphere own is good. Tea picking is just doing. They explained less 2 mini. Do it alone. They don’t come together… so maybe it’s okay to skip. I appreciate because I could learn how hard picking job is.

Nice place to see historical production factory for tee production. Can’t unterstand the negative reviews here. Tour was very interesting and you can get a lot of insights. Don’t know what people expect for their money …. You also get a free cup of tea and there is a small shop.

A friendly lady from the factory guided us through the whole tea manufacturing process. Offered us some tea to taste. They have variety of products you can buy. They sell them only here, there factory products are being actioned and sold to different brands as whole bulk. So this is the only place you can get tea under their brand.

The gardens are home to a wide variety of plants, including orchids, ferns, roses, and cacti. There are also several themed gardens, such as the rock garden, water garden, and Japanese garden. I particularly enjoyed the rose garden, which is home to over 1,000 varieties of roses. In addition to the plants, the gardens are also home to a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and butterflies. I saw several monkeys swinging through the trees and a few birds flitting about. I was also lucky enough to see a butterfly with a wingspan of about 10 centimeters! I spent about 3 hours exploring the gardens and I could have easily spent more time. There is so much to see and do, and it is a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Great for nature lovers. Japanese garden area is very beautiful. You can't take your car inside the park, you have to park outside beside the main road. There are golf carts inside which you can rent but those are expensive.

The Hakgala flower garden is one of the most beautiful flowers gardens in Sri Lanka. There are thousands of different colours and varieties of flowers. There are many kinds of roses as well. We visited the garden on December to experience the weather change but it did not affect us because of the sunlight. It was a little cold as well. The best time to visit here is between the months March and April.

One of the best Gardens to visit in Sri Lanka. Unlike other Gardens this garden is on the side of a mountain so the path is steep as in the path goes up and down not smooth flat. They have golf cart for 3 and 7 people. You can take a ride on it if you are not into hiking short on time. We went on May end which is almost the end of the season of flowers but we were still able to see flowers blooming. Rose garden there is a must to visit. Recommended if you want to see and experience the plants and flora of Sri Lanka.

Such a nice garden. When We visit It was bloomed with beautiful and varieties of roses. Please do not touch or harm roses if you are reading this. Garden is huge, take a photograph of the map at the entrance. in my perspective Garden is not well maintaining. there are some workers who are doing nothing and sitting around the garden. One of 5 botanical gardens in SL, Hakgala is most famous for flowers blooming in season between April-May. Somewhat long walking is required. There is a 3 or 4 peron buggy for disabled or elderly people which we were trying to use but only one buggy was working that day and that pretty much excluded one person of our group from experiencing the beauty of the park. Try to visit all parts of the garden if you are planning to go there.

Garden is a not very attractive down due to off season. The gardeners were trying to keep it up, and always give a beautiful smile for caring visitors. Washrooms were unclean due to certain local large family travellers. Unfortunately they litter and make the place so noisy. I assume it is better around April, when the entire garden blooms...

Great spot, but management's a letdown. It's been the same for years—no maps or leaflets when you get tickets, and no directions on the park roads. Poorly managed, despite heaps of workers and supervisors scattered throughout the park.

The time of the year we chose was not perfect for flowering plants, however after months and weeks of rain, we had a few good days with sunshine.. Its a lovely place to be even just for a walk around amongst trees, waterfalls and other nature's gifts ... There was a lot of maintenance going on, which was good to see. However the cafeteria was not open, even though it was almost 11 am.. it got crowded throughout the day..

Hakgala Botanical Garden, Nuwara Eliya For the students studying botany or the researchers in that field this place could be of use but not for a common tourist. I  was there in February and they were either sowing the seeds or planting flower shoots. The rose area was a no entry zone. I tried to look for some birds but nothing could be seen. Only some monkeys were making noise jumping from one branch to another. Yes, a frog was croaking too. The rock garden was a damp squib. It was probably the worst destination I have been to during my Srilanka trip. And the entry ticket they charge - LKR 3000, is a complete rip off. Very disappointing. Not recommended.

The place is good for relaxing your mind. Be careful if you take kids. There are so many slopes, stairs and ponds. I prefer you to visit in weekdays since there must be a lot of crowd in weekends. There are lot of flora and fauna to identify and study. I think it would not be enough just a day to explore the whole garden. It's very beautiful place. My daughter and wife was so happily hanging around there with me.

Location is great but unfortunately nowadays they are not allowed the guest to view the farm due to the Covid issue. However we can see the view of the farm and the cow 🐄 from the road.

It was really good experience to see those creatures and taste the fresh milk especially in a place with superb view. The paths to ambewela farm is really improved currently and has a very nice view compared to rest of the places in that area. They have goats cows and rabbits as well to see. We had good roll and fresh milk in their restaurant which we have to climb a bit up from the farm. Overall a good place for kids and family.

Our visit to Ambewela Farm was simply fantastic! 🚜🌿 The picturesque surroundings and fresh mountain air create a perfect setting. The farm tour was educational and fun, especially for kids. 🧒👧 The sight of happy cows grazing in the lush green fields is heartwarming. 🐮🍃 The dairy products are a must try and so fresh and delicious! 🥛🧀

This Farm is open for public and good place to visit if you are in Nuwaraeliya. Entrance fee is Rs. 200 for adults and Rs. 100 for children when I was visiting in October 2022. You can see the Cows, Goats and Rabbits raised there. It was very exciting to see the bulls that weighs over 1 Ton. You can buy snacks form the canteen there. You can buy diary products at rates less than the market price. Good place to visit with kids. Parking and washrooms are available.

The environment is really nice. But there was nothing much to worth watching buying a ticket for Rs. 250. There was a huge crowd during our visit as it was a holiday. Only some cows, studs, calves, goats and rabbits could be seen in the farm, none of the production processes were not shown for the public. Price of a local ticket was Rs. 250 and for foreigners Rs. 500. There was a discounted price for school children. There is a huge parking where more than 100 vehicles could be parked. There is a long distance to walk to watch all the animals except cows. Better to take a cap. There are shops inside to buy Ambewela products and some fast food and beverages. These shops also accept credit cards. But the discounted prices of Ambewela products were almost ariund 5-10%

A Dairy farm spread in a large area. Well maintained place. You can access with a ticket which can be purchased at the gate. Here you can see various steps in milk production. Also you can see many other things that can be seen in a farm. They have a their product stall inside the farm. Selling Little less than market price. Clean well maintained place.

The climatic and economical conditions in Ambewela make it an ideal location for dairy farming, hence the country's only milk powder factory is situated in this area. The two animal husbandries, Ambewela Farm and New Zealand Farm, have Ayrshire cattle and Friesian cows respectively. The drive from Nuwaraeliya is scenic the travellers can drop by to have a cup of hot milk at the Cafe. Unfortunately due to covid the farm doesn't allow public to go inside and check out the cattle and dairy processing.

Good place to see cows, goats, bulls, rabbits etc. They got factory to see milking of cows. Making cheese. We can buy dairy products. Drink hot milk. Their is so much things to do. We need to walk alot. It's a good experience to children. I was a bit upset seeing the cows and other animals attached to the same place. Rabbits were caged. That was a bit heart aching. Other than that it was good. Parking facility was great.

There are 2 newly built largest south Asian farms with art of technology , you can’t ever see in South Asia such this farm. In addition to that , another livestock species also are kept in high standard. Proud to be a senior veterinary surgeon at here.

It's a beautiful farm, spreading acres together. Very clean and well maintained. Full of greenery. I loves to see the cowshed, the freedom they enjoy. They are well taken care of. We can have good walk through out the farm. We can see rabbits, goats, calf's etc. of course there is no place to sit and enjoy(park type). I thought they can have some more explanation bon the board with pics of cows verity bcz audio what they play on one can hear. I could not even understand what they said. I had great time in this farm 😃

I just went with my office colleague to see this farm as part of my holiday trip. It was a nice cool place and good times on this farm. It's a good learning thing about the diary farm. It's is situated in Nuwareliya district. It was a nice experience to me.

The views around the farms are amazing and breath taking. Hard to breath inside the farms. So if you are sensitive to strong smells, avoid going indoors (in to the main feeding buildings) and enjoy the nature and walk around this beautiful landscape.

Need to be lucky to see the water fall in full flow. The water supply is limited when it is stocked for power generation at the Upper-Kotmale Hydro Power Plant. Nice observation desk open for public and a canteen type hotel is located beneath. A must stop-over for first time travellers.

This picturesque waterfall is situated after Thalawakele towards the Nuwara Eliya. I think this is one of top five beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. If you are traveling to Badulla by train you can also see this beautiful waterfall. During the rainy season water is full. You can walk little close to waterfall. But you should care from leaches. Its by the side of the most popular route from Colombo to Nuwara eliya. It between main cities of Hatton and Thalawakele. Very difficult to miss. There is a nice view point maintained by the Sri Lanka electricity bord. And near by there is a museum related to the landmarks of electricity in Sri lanka. The restaurant run by the same institution the quite good. And for a long distant traveler it provides a much needed rest room facilities clean an appealing. The waterfall itself is quite majestic. The view point itself provides a good view. However if you want to go close to the fall there is a flight of steps leading to a foot path.

Pretty nice waterfall. you could also swim. Local guy name Ramar show the way down to the waterfall. there is a view point and spot to swim. He will ask 500 lkr but worth it, they made the road dow to the points.

Visitors can admire St. Clair's Falls from viewpoints along the roadside or take a closer look by trekking through the surrounding tea estates. The waterfall is a popular attraction for tourists exploring the picturesque hill country of Sri Lanka.

We took an excursion to the view point to have a glimpse at the plunging down falls and my word the weather was so no point that it added a layer of beauty on it. Amidst the lush green trees is this surreal falls which is a sight for sore eyes. You can go to the falls and take the plunge as well but if you just want to admire the unobtrusive beauty, the view point is the perfect place.

It is one of the beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka! Even though it was not raining, but the biew of the waterfall was soooo mesmerising. Spent some time there, and gathered all the beauty of the nature in our eyes 👀

This is a very beautiful hindu temple located in the area. In size this is not a huge one but the location is really beautiful. There is a restaurant as well on the location which has really tasty food. You need to dress accordingly to the location and we were not allowed to take our DSLR cameras in as there was a recent incident and they have decided not to allow that.

Nice temple. Just a head up… Make sure you are covered as there are rules such as not allowed to wear shorts. My shorts were below knee length but I had to cover myself with a sarong. Nice views from the temple, inside is great to visit and worship, there is a cafe and gift shop there if you require it.

The environment of this temple is very beautiful. The area around the Kotmale Reservoir can be seen very well. It is a temple that is about 100 years old. The temple will be closed for pooja at 11.30 pm. If you are going to watch this, wear clothes that cover the body. Otherwise you will not be allowed to go.

This is a very beautiful hanuman temple located in Ramboda on Kandy-Nuwara Eliya Road. In size this is not a huge one but the location is really beautiful. The idol of Hanuman is of black granite and it is carved beautifully and stands tall at 16 feet. No photography or videography is allowed inside the temple. You need to dress accordingly in the location.

Location is outstanding. The canteen run by temple adminstration has the most delicious food!

Clean and well maintained. Closes in afternoon from 1-4pm. Photography is not allowed. From the temple if you look opposite the terrain looks like sleeping hanuman.

Hanuman Temple in midst of picturesque beauty build by Chinmaya mission on way to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy. Crossed 100s of Acre of Tea Gardens to reach this place. Luckily visited at 12:00 noon at the time of Aarti

The aura of this place is beyond words. No photography or videography is allowed inside the temple. The pujan here will make you awestruck.

Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, Nuwara Eliya This temple is located on the Kandy Road, almost 40-50 minutes from Nuwara Eliya. This location in Sri Lanka is a must-see because it is decorated with beautiful natural views. This is thought to have been Hanuman's first stop in Sri Lanka before setting out on his mission to find Goddess Sita after she had been abducted and before giving her Lord Ram's ring. It's a wonderful destination to visit for all "Hanuman bhakts" all over the world because it has a large statue of Lord Hanuman in the center of the temple complex.

Worth visiting. Calm, clean and pleasant atmosphere. Also you could enjoy the view of Kothmale reservoir.

The Temple is very beautiful and also the hill area around the temple is stunning.

Quick stop of historic and religious (Hindu) significance. Great views around for taking pictures. Rules for entry are quite strict. Have to cover arms, legs and remove any caps/hats. Have to leave shoes outside and it's a few stairs to get to the top. Really hot during the day.

A nice Temple of Hanuman at the Ramboda . The Hanuman idol is very high in the temple.

Great location. Valley views. Amazing environment in the temple. A vegetarian restaurant 1 minute walk away. Cover yourself fully otherwise 100 LKR rupees for a dhoti.

This temple is located on a summit of the mountain 30 kms from Nuwara Eliya. This Temple is one of the important Hanuman Temples in Sri Lanka. It is dedicated to the God Hanuman and this is one of important sites of the Ramayana Trail in Sri Lanka. An 18ft statue of Lord Hanuman is the tallest Hanuman statue in Sri Lanka. A grand statue of Bhagwan Hanuman takes centre stage in the sanctum of the temple. This temple was opened around 2001. The management is handled by the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka. The temple building is appealing from the outside and the location of this temple is awesome. The temple timimgs is from 7 AM to 12:45 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. The complex also have a big canteen where you can have a food or some snacks. There were some shops selling Sri Lankan coffee, tea and, other spices. We went in the afternoon time and at that time Puja was going on. We attended that Pooja and after that prasadam was distributed. The prasadam taste just like South Indian prasadam and was very tasty.. overall we liked the beauty of this temple, it's location and the lush greenery around it which makes it as a best temple of Sri Lanka and you should not miss it

Tea plantation after which the falls was named is also nearby. Close to Devon waterfall, you can see St. Clair waterfall as well.

We went to the top of this beautiful waterfall ,The environment looks beautiful there . We spent a few hours there. You don't have to work hard to get to the top of this waterfall. A little bit inside from the main road. You can reach the top of the falls after stopping the car and walking about 500 meters. There are two more viewpoints around to see this beauty

Devon Falls is a picturesque waterfall situated close to Dimbula in Hatton. Travelers generally do not fail to stop by the St. Clair's Tea Centre to have a glimpse at this waterfall. If you travel on the Nawalapitiya road from Pathana junction, then you can find the water stream which creates this waterfall. Some travelers even reach the tip of Devon Waterfall by walking along this stream.

A definite stop-over along the Colombo-Nuwara Eliya road (through Avissawella and Hatton). Enjoy the fresh air and the view. Parking available. If interested, you can enjoy some tea at the St. Clairs Tea Centre just opposite the view point.

Devon is a beautiful waterfall that we can see on the way to Nuwaraeliya from Hatoon. I visited this on 2010 for the first time during my first solo ride to the hill country. Attached photos are taken in 2014 during our journey to horton plains.

Devon Falls, known as the 'Veil of the Valley', is a waterfall in Sri Lanka, situated 6 km (3.7 mi) west of Talawakele, Nuwara Eliya District on the A7 highway. The falls is named after a pioneer English coffee planter called Devon, whose plantation was situated nearby the falls.[2] The waterfall is 97 m (318 ft) high and is the 19th highest in the country. When I was with my family on the way between Nuwara Eliya to Colombo, I stopped to see the Divon Waterfall, I saw three monkeys, so I tried to feed them, then they followed about 30 monkeys, I finish all the bread on them, but these minutes were the amazing time to me.

Another beautiful waterfall in Nuwara Eliya. There are many view points that admire this beautiful waterfall. I'd prefer the waterfall viewpoint 2 which is in the map (which you'll can check). Try to visit it early in the morning so it won't be much crowded. This is a popular tourist destination too. Try to visit this during the season so it won't be dried

Nice place easy-to-claim top of the waterfall

Most people watch this fall from the view point located beside the main road. But when you go from view point straight to hatton main road , about 1km you'll see a entrance for a kovil ( fane) right side. Go down by its stairs .At the end of stairs you can see the devon fall perfectly 😎

At a distant view point we saw the falls rippling down the mountains. I think the St. Clair view point was a better fit than this. Didn’t spend up much time here. You get awesome and dirt cheap Avocados from local vendors here. We got 9 pieces for 500 LKR (In India its more than triple). Do buy them and show support to the local small scale vendors earning their bread and butter through it.

Great place to visit in Nuwaraeliya. Ticket price is 50lkr per each. But you have to rent off road vehicles to go. Usually it costs 2500lkr. You can see nice landscapes of some major hills in upcountry.

360 view from the top. One of best place to visit at the Nuwaraeliya. It is not much far away from city center. Make sure to go at early morning on a sunny day. Need to buy tickets and hire a jeep from there. Worth ride for the price. It is a fantastic view. Sorrounded by many hills and valleys. What a beutiful scene.

This is a must visit place if you are around NuwaraEliya. You have to buy a ticket at the entrance for 80 Rs per adult. And then seperately you have to buy safari jeeps to go up the mountain to the viewpoint. The safari jeeps are overpriced and they allow only 6 people for 3000 Rs. Although there is a front seat empty, they do not let another person get on which is very unfair. The ride to the viewpoint is very difficult inside the jeep. And you have to keep your phones and valuables held onto you tight as with the bumpy ride they can get thrown out of the jeep. The viewpoint is beautiful and you can see several provinces in one go. And the clear demarcations between the provinces with the differences in the trees can be seen well. The drivers of the jeeps explain the places that can be seen from there. It is so cold in the morning there with lots of wind. The drivers urge you to hurry up and come within 20 minutes which is annoying. Also they give you the option to get down the jeep at the Agro farm on the way back, and they do not wait until you come of course so there is about a 20min walk back to the entrance.

This place is located in Seethaeliya - Nuwaraeliya.This belongs to department of agriculture.It is opened from 7 00am to 4.00pm.Road till the entrance is bit broken but can be accessed by a car.Entrance ticket for local adult is 50.00LKR.From the entrance to view point (3 -4kms) you have to hire a jeep which costs 2000.00LKR.No private vehicle is allowed.You can stay in the viewpoint around half an hour.You can see 360° view with several mountains.View is so beautiful. Whole journey takes around one and halfhours.Try to visit the place early morning because when place gets busy you have to wait in a long que to hire a jeep.

Great place to enjoy the nature. 360 degree view at there top and most of the tallest mountains. Jeep ride is worth for the price. If you go early no waiting time for a jeep.

Our visit to the viewpoint was one of the best experiences! The view is absolutely magnificent, offering a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. We used the jeeps available for the ride, and the friendly driver shared insightful information about the place throughout the journey. The jeep can accommodate up to seven people and costs 3000 per vehicle. To access moonplains, we needed to get tickets priced at 80/= per person. The road to the top was a bit bumpy, but the ride was worth it. The ride is about 20 mins to the top. The jeep stops just before the viewpoint, and from there, it's a short climb to reach the awe-inspiring viewpoint. Overall, it was a well-organized and unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to everyone.

Stunning Mountain View of Nuwara Eliya and surrounding areas with a lookout point. Saw a few animals this season like deer and Buffalo, but our guide told us May is best to come to that region as the temperatures balance to warm. It was rainy/misty and very windy at the lookout, so dress accordingly. In this region, always bring an umbrella and/or raincoat, socks and covered shoes unless you are comfortable in flip flops and sandals. It’s wet, but at anytime, it’s worth the view and treks! Also the Agrofarm is a must as they have a rabbit island and you can go in and pet the rabbits!

One of the beautiful place in Nuwaraeliya. We went here during 2019 when we were on our honeymoon. This is open to 7am to 4 pm. You have to buy tickets at the entrance and then you have to go by a jeep. Jeep is costing around 2000. 6 people can go in a jeep. The ride is very jerky and not recommended to pregnant ladies, people who have done surgeries and also small children. Love the view. Must visit place in Srilanka.

Must visit place of you're coming to Nuwara Eliya. Tickets are issued from 7am to 5pm. You can only stay up to 6pm. It's better if you could go very early in the morning. Then you'd be able to see 8 of the 10 tallest mountains in Sri Lanka. There's nothing much to see if it's too misty or raining. Scenic views. The Cab driver charges Rs. 3000. It's Rs. 80 for a local adult. If you're coming via personal vehicles, you must stop them at the parking space and get the cab. 6 people are allowed to go in a Cab. You can get the entire cab if you want.

Awesome 360 view from from high land. You have to travel by safari jeep. It will cost you 3000 LKR for 1 hour journey. 40 min up and down trip to view point and can stay 20 min in moon plains view point.

The journey itself was an adventure, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to traverse this frigid terrain. However, it's important to note that visiting this extraordinary location required purchasing tickets for entry and paying for the jeep ride. While these expenses may seem like a downside, they were well worth it for the unforgettable memories and surreal scenery I encountered. Overall, my visit to this extreme cool paradise was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an adventure in a world unlike any other. Just be prepared to invest in the tickets and jeep ride for an experience you'll cherish forever.

This is an agro-tourism site where you can see and experience the hill country agriculture and also have a chance to witness the spectacular scenery of the mountains at a 360-degree viewpoint if the weather permits. You have to hire a safari jeep to reach that viewpoint. We were charged Rs 3000 for one trip at the time. One jeep can accommodate 6 persons, if you are a couple you can team up with some others before buying tickets so you can share the Jeep fee.

15 to 20 minutes by car from the town of Nuwara Eliya. There is enough parking at the entrance area, which is accessible by a rough road. A ticket costs Rs. 80, while a safari Jeep with seven seats costs Rs. 3000. It takes ten to fifteen minutes to reach the off-road track lookout. Fantastic sights as you go and gaze out. When there are no clouds in the sky, it's amazing and you can see some really nice views.

Recommended to see earlier the morning 🌄 Very cold place. The park is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding Poya days and other religious holidays, and the entrance fee is Rs. 400 per person, whereas a jeep can be hired for a 1-hour tour at about Rs. 2000, fitting in up to seven people. You could even take a bicycle up there as the terrain is perfect for cycling! Moon Plains, also known as Sandathenna, is a 400-metre long, 40 metre deep valley in Ranhawadigama, about 6km from Nuwara Eliya. What was once part of a catchment area, Moon Plains is now a notable Agricultural and Environmental Tourism Zone since March 2014.

We went for the 7 am sinhala mass last weekend. It's a beautiful historic Anglican church. It gives you a peaceful and calm feeling when your inside. The service was nice with only a few people. If your in Nuwara eliya you should pay visit and have look around since there's an old grave yard too.

Looking forward to visit soon. Our last visit was not during public viewing times i.e. after 3pm.

Wonderful church with a significant historical value, connected to the colonial history of Ceylon and Nuwara Eliya, a place all tourists better not miss. Now (from Jan 2024) open for public throughout the day (earlier used to be open only from 1500 - 1800 hrs). It's an Anglican church, considered to be the oldest in the city, consecrated in 1852. It's a cruciform church building (clearly visible in satellite view on Google maps) with a conical shaped wooden roof. The colorful stained glasses is a highlight of the building which are artistic masterpieces. The centenary old pipe organ had been restored and is being currently used. The benches and most of the furniture and fixtures are custom-made from imported wood. Most are preserved in it's original form. The Church is now declared (in 2007) as an archeological protected monument. There are a number of memorial plaques on the walls as well as the churchyard. These include the plaques for several renowned British governors, bureaucrats, their families, friends and ex-servicemen who lost their lives during WW2. These include - Francis Henry Hamilton (the son of Gavin Hamilton, government agent for revenue & commerce, who built the Hamilton Canal), Lady Carolina Ridgeway (the wife of Sir Joseph West Ridgeway, who was instrumental in building the Lady Ridgeway Hospital in Colombo), family members of Samuel Baker. Douglas, the caretaker, is very knowledgeable of the historical importance of the church and all it's content. You'll be amazed with all his explanations. The Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip had visited the Church in 1954, and said to have gifted two main stained glass windows in remembrance of their visit (Douglas will show you). Highly recommended for all visitors to Little England.

Built in the 1830s this is one of the most beautiful places in nuwara eliya. We visited in the afternoon when there was a choir practice going on. There is a old pipe organ, don't forget to see. Also have a look at painted windows. Sit inside and see everything with peace. If you are not creeped out by the cemetery, do read the tombstones. The trees are very beautiful. Visit in the afternoon, you may call them and ask if you can visit just to make sure the church is open. Do take permission before taking pictures. Do not litter or smoke.

You have to park your vehicle by the road and walk inside. Visitors allowed 3 to 6 pm. There is a semetry too. British era building. This is Anglican sect church. Timbers used were imported Burma timber. You can have a look inside if keepers available. There is a huge manual organ. Atleast 4 people need to play it. Now it has been adjusted to be played by one person. Specialty is only one person in Sri Lanka knows how to play it. You can see huge air pipes from organ. 80% percent of church still owned by British. Worth visit.

This church has the OLDEST Pipe Organ 🎹 in Sri Lanka. You can watch it. But take pictures or videos are prohibited.

A very nice church to visit. The gentleman was kind enough to explain the value of the church and how old it is. The Queen visited it twice. We signed in the guest book, which is preserved.
