This was a much anticipated trip, I had seen many previous videos and pictures. There are many comments about the entry price being vastly different for International visitors, 375K IDR compared to domestic visitors who pay 50K. I can understand why the difference exists, but it seems rather steep to me. The biggest disappointment for me was that you are no longer allowed to enter the temple. The access points are now sealed off. Again I can understand why, but for myself, it did take some of the pleasure away. The famous bell towers can only really be seen from a distance and in my opinion can't be appreciated in the same way. The site possesses the longest exit route I have ever experienced! You walk though a labyrinth of alleys lined with literally hundreds of gift stalls. As previously mentioned, I can totally understand why this is so. All that said; it is a world heritage site and well worth a visit. The perimeter is open and you can walk around all 4 sides of this vast and impressive temple. As I walked away from the area, I had mixed feelings: I couldn't help feeling a little disappointed by the 3 aforementioned aspects but thoroughly impressed by the wonderful architecture.

A majestic temple complex. Opening time 8.30 for the groups (with guide). No sunrise tours at 4 /5/6 am anymore. Purchased tickets online a week in advance. A tour with guide last 1 hour plus (inside the temple, climbed all the way up). Only about 1200 tourists allowed daily. Lots of souvenirs shops around, cafes etc.

Requiring a guide limited the experience for me. Requiring unsafe sandals that allowed my feet to get sun burned was a drawback to the experience. Recommend taking socks that you can wear with the required sandals that you have to buy with the tickets. We chose not to pay extra for a guide that could speak English. We thought we could explore at our own pace, but we had to stay with our guide. It was really hot at 10:00 a.m. and the guide had us standing in the sun multiple times getting baked. Our group had 15 people, which was too many for one group. It would probably be worth it to find a way to pay extra for a smaller group of your own party to go at your own pace. You definitely should walk up the steps to the top.

Borobudur temple is a cultural heritage site which is currently protect and under supervise by UNESCO and INDONESIA Government. In 2024, visitors are limited to 1200 peeple per day.. and we can only reach level 9, because level 10 only used for worship. Recommended place to visit with your Family.

Truly a magnificent landmark. Not only value its historical moment, also spiritual too. The last time I visited, it was sprinkling (not raining) and I strongly felt it was a blessing from the Buddhas to keep myself a little bit dry. The written wall of the temple is still safely kept until now, which is serving its important messages to us. However, after you done strolling around the temple, please do not forget to visit the cafe. The service is very friendly and the prices aren’t expensive at all.

The temple itself is very nice, and it worth a visit if you’re in the area of course, given its cultural significance as the largest Buddhist monument on earth. I will say the price was quite steep however for what you receive. It was approx 500000 per person if you want to walk through the temple grounds, and this entitles you to go onto the temple but only with a guide, and you only have one hour. Because of this, a lot of the panelling work and areas are missed off the tour, and they seem to drag you only to where people will want to have photos of themselves taken. I’d have preferred to not have a guide at all had I known what I was paying for was a time limited tour of one corridor and the roof area, but unfortunately you are not allowed to access the temple without the guide.

We loved visiting here. The guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and funny. The flip flops you have to wear (included in ticket price and bag) we good and a lovely keep sake. The worst part was trying to get out of the temple complex with 300meter plus of souvenir shops.

Beautiful temple, but nowhere near as large & impressive as is made out. Tickets are expensive- for foreign tourists at least. Visit on weekdays & not dawn and you will avoid the crowds. On exiting the complex, try to avoid the maze of trinket stalls that go on for ever.

It's a must visit place in Yogyakarta. Its one of the famous Buddhist monuments in the world, built between 8th and 9th Century. The best way to visit the temple is to take a guided tour. A limited number of tourists are allowed to enter inside the temple at a time. Without prior booking It's difficult to get a slot. More than half day is required to visit this temple. Enjoyed my visit to this place.

Amazing and magical place. We did a group tour with Sunrise, so we arrived to the Temple very early, we were the first one entered to the temple's first ground. We took a big walk around the temple and in the area. Around 9am they took us up to the temple. There is maximum 150 person/hour, and we were divided up to smaller group with a local guide, what made the whole experience even better

The temple itself is lovely and the gardens are beautiful, however the ticket price is outrageous. It’s not worth the money. I don’t understand why foreigners pay more, it’s a little unfair. I wonder if the people in here that gave good reviews paid cheaper price. If the price were reasonable I would give a better review as the temple itself is nice.

Came to this place before the Covid Pandemic hit. This place is wonderful and the vibe is relaxing. Access to the location is easy. The last time I visited here, the view at the top of the temple was amazing and crowded with tourists. If you want to visit here, please pay attention to the signs in several locations to help keep the temple well maintained.

Very beautiful. Although the two separate entry points aren’t being made clear to tourists. There is the general admission where you can explore the grounds, including AROUND the temple, then there’s the separate admission (with a schedule on a first come first serve basis) where you can walk ON the steps of the temple and whatnot. However, I love the museum. It has a lot of great displays with the descriptions available both in Indonesian and English.

Incredibly impressive. Our guide was knowledgeable but knew that most of the group wanted to get to the top and get our pictures. Absolutely the best thing we have done in Java. Only 150 people are allowed up at the time which is good. We had a tour take us there, and we did get a better history of the temple and it's significance on Java culture before we went.

Loved this place. Foreigners have to pay a lot more than locals. But they use the extra money for restoration and maintenance. They only allow 150 per hour into the temple and you have to have a guide. Got a ticket and only had to wait about 30-45 minutes for the next tour group. They give you special sandals to protect the temple and then you get them as a souvenir. We had an amazing guide that is very knowledgeable about the temple and it history. The tour lasted about 40 minutes and we still had 20 minutes left for our tour. So we were able to walk around, relax and check out the temple at our own pace. Took an overpriced shuttle from Yogyakarta then shared a taxi coming back.

My 3rd times here. This time visited with the kids. Will be a memorable time and such a great opportunity to see and learn one of world’s seven wonders. The area was very clean with some updated facilities like electric bus, golf cart to touring around temple area. The toilet was also clean. Hopefully get better with more attractions and facilities in the future.

Who doesn't know Borobudur Temple, its fame is very well known throughout the world. Want to share experiences when visiting here. Before you come, it's best to buy tickets online so you don't have to queue for a long time. My advice is to buy a ticket with a package entry to the temple, it's more expensive than one with access to the grounds, but it's more satisfying if you buy a package to go up to the temple because we get a guide and are also given special sandals. to go up to the top of the temple If you want to come here, don't forget to bring an umbrella, hat, drinking water and don't forget to use sunblock because it's really hot up there. Lastly, if you want to buy souvenirs, after coming down from the temple, buy souvenirs in the area near the exit because it is cheaper. That's all the review, basically this Borobudur temple is really recommended to visit.

Borobudur temple is super great! I feel honored I have the opportunity to come back here and climb to (almost) the top. I’ve been here when I was little but it felt different. Now it is more organized (yes they charged a more expensive ticket) and clean. You get the upanat sandals (included in ticket price). And there’s a tour guide lead your group and told you the history. Don’t forget to buy tickets in advance through the official website. The negative thing is the exit is way too complicated, you need to go through hundreds of local stalls with sellers forcing you to buy souvenirs. Not a fun experience at all.

Built as a Buddhist temple in Center Java Island, Indonesia at that period of time, nowadays, it's the only ancient Buddhist temple in the land of Islamic Indonesia. I was thrilled to witness this magnificent antique structures and walk on her as one of the true Buddhist devotee (I walked 3 rounds clockwise on the top 2nd platform with clear mind - believe it can bring my wishes come true). It is hot, so make sure you have sunscreen and a head cover. I spent 3 days exploring the temple while staying in Manohara Resort in Borobudur Temple compound! We got the entrance ticket included in our stay with Manohara Resort, that also includes a special foot wear to walk within Borobudur site (as shown in the photo). 3 different exploration days (1st. Day overture to get the overall story, fun and fact about the temple; 2nd. Day I brought in a lot more details on the cravings and the Buddha status in the temple; 3rd. Day rainy afternoon with a complete different look on Borobudur completion, fresh and colorful in my eyes). 3 different perspectives and feelings that Borobudur Temple give! Make the way to this magnificent site!

Everything is good and neatly arranged, only after we have finished admiring it, when we get to the exit, we have to go through a maze of selling stalls (and these stalls should also be attractively designed) which is quite tiring. Maybe there should also be some kind of cafe and/or restaurant that is nice and clean so that visitors can hang out there.

So so experience. The candi itself was impressive. Being such an impressive historical monument, this candi is a tourist magnet for locals and foreigners alike. It’s like a must for tourists to visit. The management of this candi knows it very well thus even with a very steep price to visit inside the candi (not only on the court yard or “pelataran” in indonesia word, many foreigners are “willing” to pay such an exorbitant price. With this such a high price, foreigners tourist have a high expectations about the whole experience but sadly this was not met. We visited candi borobudur on 31 mar 2024 and entry time was 10.30 am and we got a group nb 20. There were 25 people in the group-many more than the max of 15 people. The tour guide was not sympathetic at all and his knowledge about borobudur was below expectation. The storytelling skill was not good enough to be a guide in such an impressive candi. Apart from the subpar tour guide, we were given only 1 hour to visit the temple, it’s not enough at all. At the min the management of candi needs to give tourists at least 2 hours as we wanna to see and admire more details on the relics and stupa. Everything was a rush. The tour guide rushed us to move from one point to another point and to exit the temple (the tour guide needs to make sure that all his groups to be scanned in exit gate). This one hour experience inside the temple was not what we expected. It took 1.5 hours from Yogja to the temple, queue in getting our ticket scanned, queue to have our tour start and we were about to admire the history and the beauty of the candi, times up, let alone to take some photos. The bottom line it’s a disappointing experience. Hopefully the borobudur management team will listen and make improvements. Ps: compare with prambanan temple, we preferred prambanan experience. More genuine and original experience.

Very beautiful architecture. Ticket is very expensive for foreigner. Need to wear the sandals as you can bring back as a souvenir. There will be sellers selling umbrellas, buy from them if the weather is too hot or rain because there is no shelter.

I wanna revisit this place for its beautiful scenery, fresh air and friendly people. If you plan to climb up here in the afternoon, you'd better bring some snacks and supply enough drinking water because the food stall at the top is already closed. Still, no littering please. Go before sun rise. muslims travellers can pray for Fajr/Subh there as they provide a musolla/praying hut. It is about a 15-20 minute hike uphill and the view is stunning. It is a bit chilly, too. Worth waking up at 3am. You can also have a light breakfast there with some coffee or tea. There will be some staff that offer you to take your pictures for some cash (if you want to).

The right spot to see a sunrise, this place was align with Borobudur, Pawon and Mendut temple. At the left corner of your sight you can see "gereja ayam". Another tourist attraction in Borobudur. I thing best time to visit is before sunrise, prepare your self with mineral water, exercise shoes or what else makes you convenience because the track uphills with the paving ground.

You need to do small hikes from the parking lot to the top of the mountain (300m away), as its quite steep, recommend you to use proper gear for it. To enter you need to pay Rp 20.000,- for Local and Rp. 50.000,- for Foreigner. You can see sunrise between the mountain with scenery of Gereja Ayam and Borobudur in the distance, quite magnificent.

Majestic place to see sunrise but you have to be early. Be there from around 430am until sunrise. If you are lucky with the weather u can get very majestic views including two volcanoes, Merapi and Merbabu, and The Borobudur.

First know this place back on 2017. Still got photos from back then here, I just upload a video from recent visit in 2023. This place designed for those who respect the the golden hours. It’s very beautiful to watch sunrise here. The area is quite spacious, but I still recommend you to standby from 5am since mostly the area will be crowded with many tourist. To arrive at this place you will need to walking around 300 meters from the parking lot, and it’s on the mountain, so that 300 meters means you are climbing up. No worries since the access is smooth. Parking lot for car and motorcycle are available, and the entry ticket cost are affordable. There are some area you can use to take a photos with beautiful scenery. It’s a bit tiresome to hike this hill, but I 100% agree that it is worth it.

Easy to ascend for 20 min via rebuilt stairs and pavement as early as 4:30 am to view sunrise at about 400m above sea level. Borobudur can be seen afar.

The place is fantastic, you can see Mt. Merapi & Merbabu from here and on summer I was told you see the sunrise in between these 2 volcanoes. You can go there on your own, no need to get the tour.

Since the sunrise tour ticket of borobudur temple are now scrapped this is the only place nearby to get the sunrise. Its a nice spot tho. Well maintained and clean. Not expensive. BIg area so does not feel crowded. Nice photo ops. Worth to spend effort. Depending on weather u get nice photo ops.

Reach before 5 am if you wish to see the sun rise. Journey is 1 hr from city centre. About 20 mins of climbing up hill. Keep hydrated. Early morning is cold. Insta-worthy!

Very basic Temple in the local community. Gives you a good idea of the smaller scale temple dotted all over the region during that period. Now the area has changed to Islam faith. Historically the place was Hindu Buddhist. All depends on the rulers of the time. Still the locals are very peaceful and friendly.

Do you know how excited I was when I arrived here. Like finally after ages I cud reach and see the temple. I never expected that it's literally surrounded by resident houses. So you have to start from Mendut first cause the ticket was set with Pawon. And it was cheap like around Rp 10.500 only for local adults. And way cheaper for the local kids. And it's used for visiting 2 temples altogether. Imagine how cheap. 🥺 Afterall, this temple is worth to visit. Enjoy the beauty and the artistic relief of the temple. You'll be amazed. ❤

Small but nice temple. We visited here right before going to Pawon Luwak Coffee that’s only couple of meters away. There will be many sellers offer you merchandise and gift, buy if you like or reject it politely.

As if in tandem. After Borobudur Temple, you will be brought over Pawon temple by your guide. Pawon Temple. A small temple in an open, like garden setting, space and within like, maybe 5 minutes, it will be time-out. On your way out, those traders? They are adamant in closing sales with you and they will make sure you run after you. Buy if you feel.

beautiful view! pro tip: bring an umbrella in case of rain as the weather changes rapidly. when we came here we cant really see the merapi mountain due to the heavy fog. on a sunny day the merapi is pretty clear, though.

First time visiting and first impression was so so only. They charge foreigners Rp50k per person and you get one free soft drink. There is a volcano museum but looks pretty run down. Was told can view volcano documentary in the in-house theatre bit it was closed when I visited. What a let down. So the only saving grace was the observation platform at the hill top overlooking the villages. Too bad it was cloudy and misty so did not get to see much of the mountain view.

Our trip here was super impromptu but that's alright. They have a lot of posters and displays related to Mount Merapi but to be honest, they feel a bit outdated. They have a café corner that only sells cup noodles and some packaged drinks. And then on top there's also a restaurant with plenty of seats but when we got there at about 9 or 10 AM, not many menus were ready. Not many things to do to be honest but the view is great! You can eat at a Warmindo on the parking lot instead 😅

You are also given cassava to try, which adds to the experience and have the option to buy more food. The outdoor areas are well-maintained also. Definitely worth it!

renovated during the pandemic, this is a really peaceful tourist attraction that surprised me. The view from on top of the crown is breathtaking, you can see all the surrounding volcanos and mountains. Tickets are 25k and you get a free local food dish at the restaurant which is also reasonably priced and beautifully peaceful. If you are looking to get away from the crowds and relax with some incredible views then this is the place. Oh yeah it’s also a pigeon (not chicken)

we can't go up because the road is too steep and slippery, we can take a jeep by adding 15k rupiah, the entry ticket is 20k rupiah. my advice, just walking is more exciting haha

Interesting, Quirky and Terrific Value (one price for all - no *extortion for tourists). *Our overseas guest, after being "hit" with such a high price at Prambanan, wasn't prepared to pay the same again for Borobudur, which we well understand. So, Bukit Rhema Gereja Ayam (or Chicken Church) was our 'go to' place. An enjoyable visit - one price for all - 25k/person - guide included - very well done - cafe up top for complimentary snacks, food and drinks - relaxing atmosphere and great views on a clear day. An interesting story about how, over many years this place was built, and well worth a visit. There is more development there currently - so we will definitely take future visitors that come to Yogyakarta, there again. 😊🙏😊 P. S. When you drive there you need to park at the bottom car park. From there you can ride up to the Chicken Church for 20k/person in a 4wheel drive vehicle (a regular car probably wouldn't make it) . You may need to wait, but worth it as the walking alternative is extremely steep. Saw another post here saying it's "as easy as 3 flights of stairs" (which is a gross underestimation of the walk. 😂😂)

It's an absolutely amazing place. No idea why it's not full of visitors every day. It's so peaceful, the church is absolutely unique and it was build out of kindness and used as a rehabilitation centre for the socially disadvantaged. It's inter religious and cross cultural, open 24 h and the people there are so nice. I am not religious but I just loved this place. Great place to meditate and also to hang out at the café with marvelous vistas, lovely music, Wifi, great food and drinks. The entrance price is incredibly cheap for what it is. It's also just 10 minutes from borubudur temple. Hope more people will come and support this amazing project.

Visited this eye-catching structure after Borobudur Temple, many has mistaken it as a church that shaped like a chicken. Indeed it is a house of prayers that opened to all religions, the prayer rooms are located at basement which are not accessible to the general public. The dove-shaped building has 7 storeys which are accessible thru narrow spiral staircase. There are colourful painting on the wall which depict life journey, wisdom, culture, society & etc. The top floor provide a panoramic view of the entire precinct, is limited to 3-min per visit only. Accessibility to the building is challenging, needs to be transferred to a truck as the road going up to the building is pretty steep. There is a boutique selling local batiks and souvenirs at the adjacent building. A unique and interesting place to visit if you have the time.

If you are visiting Borobudur, I highly recommend you go there. The small chicken-shaped church on the hill is beautifully decorated. The admission fee also includes a coupon to exchange for cassava fritters. We recommend taking a look at the interior, which is decorated in various colors. You can also climb the church tower and find Borobudur Temple at 1 o'clock.

It's okay nothing very impressive about this place. Very bad design by the contractor I would say because it doesn't look like pigeon wearing a crown but in reality it is not a chicken church. This is also not a church but it's a place for worship for all religions. From the top you will get amazing view of the surrounding hills and also Borobudur temple. Ticket includes traditional snacks which is absolutely tasteless so if you are in a group just take one or two to taste if you like then you can take all otherwise you would end up throwing everything like I did.

When visiting Borobudur temple I recommend stepping here for a short visit, it's just 10min ride from the temple. There are two 'questionably legit' payed parkings before the entrence. The ticket includes a guide for a brief tour, entry to the highest floor (head) and free local snack - fried cassava. The idea behind all of this is good, I'd even say pure, only the execution somewhat weird.

I first saw this place on the Netflix documentary narrated by Werner Herzog, Into the Inferno. The views of Mt Merapi and the surrounding countryside are pretty spectacular from the bird's crown at the top. We went on a quiet day during the week and didn't have to wait at all but apparently the queues can get pretty long at weekends and public holidays. I wouldn't necessarily travel here just to see this place, but it made a quirky extra stop after seeing Borobudur. We found a Grab/Gojek car both from Borobudur to the Bird Church and back to Jogja after. Note that cars can't drive all the way to the top, they drop you off at the entrance car park. You can then choose to pay a little extra for a jeep to take you to the top but to be honest it's not a long walk at all, maybe 5 minutes, albeit quite steep. The entrance ticket also included a snack in the cafe, which was nice.

Must visit. They have shuttle from the carpark to the hill, around 40k/person including ticket,return shuttle and fried cassava. They also have a local guide. In the pray room (1st floor) you cant take any photo or video. To take photo in the crown of the bird you have to queueing cos they just allowed per 8 person and only 3 minutes. They also have nice cafe with a good view

Second time coming here and still love this place. Ticket is 25k/person including a private guide for first and second floor. Gift shop store is so tempting, located after the ticket box and the final stop for the ride. If you would like to go to the top (mahkota area) there will be queuing so no worry about the crowd. Cafe is located at the side of the building, serving yummy food.

It is a Hindu temple deep in the mountains. Surprisingly, its appearance was well preserved. The surrounding area was kept clean and there were generally many foreign tourists like me.

It is a quite small temp, but you can experience an very nice walk with a great view on the rice terraces. Also on the way there is a coll coffee spot to have a short break. The combination of landscape and the nice small temple makes it worth a visit. Take a car and let you bring to the end of the small village. Frome there it is a 30 tp 45min walk.

Our guide brought us here between Borobudur and Prambanan temples, and it was a nice visit to be able to see the impressive rice fields on the side of the mountain. Do not expect much from the temple, but the walk up from the village is amazing. There is an entrance fee of 25.000 IDR/person.

Selogriyo is a very nice temple with supported by beautiful scenery. We need hiking about 2 kilometers to reach the temple from car parking area. So, it means we can combine at least 3 activities here, namely cultural, natural and physical (sport activity) tourism.

The road to up is winding and narrow and you have to continue walking from the end road up about 1.5 km. The view however is breathtaking. The temple itself was being reconstructed. Even than the view for me is far more important to see, not to mention friendly natives I met along the walk. I was struggling for the bathroom and one neighbor let me in just like that. Parking is very limited, if possible go with a local driver so you don’t have to worry about parking.

Perhaps it was an easy walk and hike, but apparently not for me. There's motorcycle for hire if ypu do not want to walk. There is a lot of vandalism on the temple,but it is worth the visit. Calm and serene atmosphere

I was amazed by the stunning sceneries along the way to this temple. So green and yet so tranquil. The road for motorbike and pedestrians are well made and maintained. I could not describe more how beautiful this area. And this tiny temple is worth it . On top of the hill ,just if we are lucky enough to enjoy when the sky is clear. Mount Sumbing is the view that we can not miss at all. Parking lot for motorbike is upstair just near to the stairs to the temple but for the car you need to park a little bit far and then you can either walk or take rental bike that costs 25.000 IDR for one way or 40.000 for returns. Toilet is available near by the second gate just before the temple. And it is clean enough. Perfect timing to visit is during dry season ( April to October) or morning when it is not cloudy. I am sure I will be back here to take more pictures.

The temple itself is quite small, but the views on the walk to the temple are breath-taking. Rice fields, terraces and volcanoes - stunning. Lots of wildlife to be seen and certainly worth the walk.

Selogriyo is about 30 km. away from Borobudur, and journey by car or motorcycle takes about one hour (each way), over paved, winding country lanes. Walking through the village, you can see the backbreaking work needed to grow the rice and harvest wood etc. Never take your food for granted. I couldn’t even imagine walking up and down those terraces to plant and harvest rice every day.

You need to walk about 2 km from the entrance. The view is amazing. Ticket price is Rp7.000. If you drive a car, you can park your car at the villagers' house and you need to pay and ask permission first but it's not expensive.

UPDATE UPDATE Price for ticket now up to IDR.40.000 without any improvement, so bored and far away to parking area. Why i had to pay more if only the using swimming pool.? After charge for IDR.40.000 then had to pay IDR.15.000 to get access to the pool, seriously.? Why not just use ribbon with different colour as a mark to get access for various rides or just for one rides so no bother to pay more or to spy on peoples. Be smart management.! Cuz i'm locals and i know it. The one and the only theme park in Magelang, known as Kyai Langgeng Zoo or Eco Park. Location is little bit confiusing, coz to parking at official parking area u have to access it through St.Panembahan Senopati. Parking fee IDR.5.000 for car at official parking space, then walk along approx 200m to reach main enterance. But there's a short way thru St.Cemp, u can exatcly find main eterance then parking ur car near it and of course have to paid. To enter the park u had to buy access card in ticket conter by paying IDR.24.000 per person include kids above 3 years old and IDR.10.000 for deposits. Some rides needs pay to get access and few are free, u need to carrying about IDR.5.000 to IDR.15.000 each for few rides. This park also provide instant meal, snack, and cafe, train car to get around park, resting place, kids playground, toilet, ect. The most dissaponting is the Zoo, it looks lack of care and maintenance. Need more CCTV, specially at corridor to washing and changing room in water park. Definitely the management having a big task to improving and make sure there's no mistake and accident in the future.

Easy to find the location and the price for the ticket is affordable and reasonable. Its located in the middle of the city but its looks like we are at the place close to the hill. No wonder, Magelang is a cold city. So, yeah, the weather is enak nggo dolan-dolan. Haha. This place is suitable for kids in kindergarten or elementary ages. The food here is good. The canteen was available almost everywhere. Unfortunately the cleanliness was not so good. Not because the cleanjng attendant doesnt do their work well, but its because the guest doesnt put their litter right on the dust bin.

The best place with a lot of playing ground for kids, and inside Taman there is tomb of Kiayi Langgeng ( the teacher of Prince 👑of Dipenegoro). If you come and want to to spend overnight ⛺, don't worry a lot of hotel around.

A popular park for family recreation in Kemirirejo, Central Magelang District, Magelang City, Central Java Province. I came here twice long ago with my family, colleagues and students. There was a swimming pool with a water boom. A minizoo presented a small collection of birds in a dome and exotic animals in cages. Other attractions included a car ride and a miniricksaw (becak) for children, rafting at the River Progo, and amusement rides (roller coaster, etc). Once I attended a graduation party at a large outdoor gazebo. Spacious parking lot for motorbikes, cars and buses. Clean toilets and musholla (moslem prayer place). The place was vast, so it needed energy for parents, and it could be scorching during a hot day.

Reminding that wide area, I personally think that the entrance ticket isn't expensive. Only 24k/person (> 3 years old inc). You can have some free facilities, such mini train, water train, carousel, etc. Food and beverages are provided inside, and not thaat expensive.

Theme park you should visit and play when you were in magelang. Ticket not too pricey nor expensive. Just make sure trying to ride a free trip around the park. But don't forget and ever you missed with fish therapy " you can see below the attached picture ". Have a nice vacation kiddos!

A good spot for spending evening, where local spend their weekend with families, lots of local food and entertainment, such as Kat flying, Local artists whom can make good portraits, etc

Very nice place to spend the weekends with friends or fam or even bf/gf..there a lot of food stan that make u feel hungry everytime u look around. And for u who like photography, it's also has nice spot to take a great pic or selfie...

Okay place to check out if you're around the area. Lots of food to choose from in the food court, though I don't guarantee that you'll get anything particularly delicious more so you'll likely get an upset stomach. Child friendly i guess, under supervision. You might want to bring a date here? Idk i don't have a partner.

Magelang city square is a tourist park in the middle of Magelang. Where The atmosphere is very exciting. With cool weather, there is a culinary center, and many coffee places (angkringan) lined up on the roadside. As well as the icon of the city of Magelang, namely a water crane building.

Haven't explored much on this place but definitely a good public space with a food court. The food court itself mostle offered kupat tahu, bakso and Batagor

The Magelang City Square in Central Java Province is a green grass lawn with a food court offering traditional as well as popular foods and beverages. It is located within a busy business area with heavy traffic, department stores (Gardena and Matahari), a mall (Trio), a police station and restaurants. There is a dancing water fountain with scheduled light plays at night. Landmarks of this area are a white statue of Prince Diponegoro (a hero in the 1825-1830 Java War against the Dutch) and huge water tower with an exotic architecture. A crowded Grand Mosque on its North side is a large and clean mosque with a beautiful classical architecture, many clean separate ladies and gents toilets.

This is one of the iconic place or landmark of magelang. People from yogyakarta usually makes this place for cycling destination. about 2 cycling from yogyakarta city. You can take a photo with the iconic "magelang" sign, or with the Prince Diponegoro statue. Nothing special about the alun-alun, just an open space covered with grass. There is a food court in the side of this park. Most of them serve local and cheap food, i haven't tried the food court yet.

Nice art museum located in Magelang, currently displaying the painting collection by artist Nasirun. Worth a visit for those who enjoy art exhibitions, their other location features a private collection of some paintings by famous painters such as Affandi, Raden Saleh, Hendra Gunawan, etc.

Humanity is the main theme for this museum, filled up with paintings and sculptures from Indonesia artist with different styles bring up one theme. Most of the arts (if not all) are private collection. Surprise to found this museum at Magelang, recommended place to visit, enjoy....

I came in for free - thanks to my artsy friends - but from what i knew, the entrance fee is around 50K - cmiiw. If you have time - and those 50k money to spend - just come and enjoy the private collection of Mr. OHD. Fyi, it's a small museum, don't expect too much.

A museum of arts in the small town called Magelang, off Jogyakarta. Often make exhibitions presenting mostly Indonesian artist. Worth a look when you are in that town. There' s a small arts shop too.

I would 100% recommend the cask draw experience - delicious 18 year old cask strength whiskey in a lovely aromatic environment. Katie was a charming and informative host. The splosh and gurgle of the distillers dog was a delight. I don't think I'd recommend the tour however. Our guide was great but it all felt a bit rushed and there wasn't enough time to linger and it all felt a bit constructed. It didn't feel that deep or engaging despite our guides best efforts. The whiskey tasting section was nice but the selection felt geared towards shifting product rather than a really distinctive tasting experience. I'm a whiskey enthusiast not an expert but there wasn't enough contrast between the whiskeys being tasted. You could buy the whiskeys as you exit through the gift shop though... You do get a good couple of drams for your ticket fee so there's good value in that. On balance though I'd recommend you get the cask draw for €10, buy a drink in the bar and go to the Guinness storehouse for the afternoon and enjoy the sunset in the gravity bar.

Great experience. Lots of people but really well managed with small group guided tours provided. Hats off to you guys at Jameson’s. Our guide Leah S was really brilliant; informative and entertaining as well as friendly and polite, making it a really worth while visit, highly recommended. Not too hard sell, just really interesting and enjoyable experience. Lots of credit was given to all the workers over the years who have made this such a success as reflected in the company logo of a man (labourer) with a barrel on his back. This is a ‘must see’ experience.

Made reservations for a Monday evening Cocktail Class. Loved the distillery and bar area - great vibes and decor! Enjoyed our cocktail class and even had a few more at the bar area after. We did visit the gift shop and were hoping/expecting it to have many more items, but it was quite small. Would recommend signing up for one of their activities if you appreciate whsikey!

We did the Jameson Distillery Tour and had an amazing experience. It lasted about an hour, and our tour guide Sean was hilarious! He went through the entire distilling process in detail and made it interesting. And the best part - WHISKEY! I highly recommend the orange "water of life" 😉 I don't want to spoil the tour so check it out for yourself, it's worth it! And something you absolutely need to see when visiting Dublin

This was a quick walk from center city & also the Guinness Storehouse, and is in a quaint area. We did the 45 minute tour with Alex and she was INCREDIBLE! So fun, knowledgeable, and engaging. The bar is also a great, warm spot to relax at the end. We would definitely come back.

Visited in 2022. This is a must if you are a fan of Jameson. The atmosphere is great as soon as you walk in. Cool bar right when you enter where they have very good cocktails. Their gift shop is great, lots of cool items that will make great gifts. They even have a few bottles that are exclusive to the Guinness store that you can personalize with your name on the label. We did the tour and the guide was amazing! He was so good at keeping everyone engaged and the content of the tour was really entertaining. We paid extra to taste from a cask that they tap open in front of you. This is something they do not bottle for sale. Overall, highly recommend it! P.S. I heard from a local in Dublin that he had gone on a tour awhile back and it wasn’t good but they had updated the tour a few years back and he had gone back as well and was much better. So if you had gone awhile ago and was disappointed, try again! Book ahead of time!

I did the Standard Bow Street Experience your which includes a drink on arrival to take with you on the 40+ min tour, learning about the history of Jameson, how the famous whiskey is made and whiskey taste testing. Molly our guide was very nice and informative. Really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend it.

A really great Irish whiskey tour in Dublin! We enjoyed the “basic” one hour program with an introduction to the drink distillation of Irish whiskey, the history of Jameson, and the taste testing of 3 different whiskeys. We were greeted with a welcome drink, and then our guide led us through the rest! Our experience was very good, and we learned a lot about the local whiskeys and how they are different. At the end, we walked through the gift shop and perused all of the different items available as well as the different whiskeys for sale. I would definitely recommend this experience for anyone that is a whiskey fan, or even not a whiskey fan, and we will recommend it to others!

The Bow St Experience tour is well organized. Tour guide was nice, tried to engage as much as she could and entertained us. Comparative tasting was good and fun. At the end you get a voucher for a drink. I would 100% recommend ginger&lime cocktail even if you prefer neat whiskey. What made this a 5 star review was a cask draw experience in their live maturation warehouse in the building. We had an absolute craic there with tour guide Niall (kudos!) who just shinned with the love for whiskey. He was very insightful with tonnes of knowledge. Niall made cask draw experience worth every penny.

Not a fan of whiskey until today! The explanation how to taste made so much sense that you can actually really learn to enjoy it. Our tour guide was funny and explained everything very passionately. In total 4 drinks , one in the ticket you can trade in the begging or end of the tour and 3 more samples in the end of the tour. Used my Go City pass to visit this museum.

I visited 3 whiskey distilleries in Ireland and Jameson had the best experience of any of them, and was one of my favorite things we did in Dublin. The tour was very well put together (and Nial was an excellent guide). The add on cask draw was also cool. The bar there was also really good. In addition to their normal cocktail menu they had a whole old fashioned menu, we tried 3 of them and all were delicious. I would also recommend the bottle your own black barrel option to any whiskey fans.

We did the standard tour and cask draw add-on here and had a great time. Our tour guide, Erin, made it though. She was super awesome and kept us all laughing throughout. I really enjoyed at the beginning she had us all say where we were from and kept engaging with all of us so it didn’t feel like a normal run of the mill tour. While you don’t see the inner working of a factory, I felt like I did learn a lot. The cask draw was totally worth it in my opinion. They bring you inside a room that is full of whisky barrels and pull it straight up from one of them for you to try. The taste was so different than the bottled versions with it being extra burning and warmed your chest, very cool.

This experience surprised me in a positive way and surpassed my expectations. I am not a Jameson drinker but I really enjoyed the way they do the tour. Plenty of tasting and they make you feel welcomed. Our guide was great. He was informative , knowledgeable, lighthearted, and entertaining. Would recommend 10/10

Fantastic tour and experience for any Whisky fan or even those new to the drink - the whole experience was very enjoyable and our tour guide was welcoming, knowledgable and very friendly. You are out into timed groups and have a history lesson of Guinness, details on the manufacturing process and then finally a Jameson taste off vs Scottish Whisky and American Bourbon. Once finishing you are free to go to the bar and redeem your drink which are great! We definitely spent a while at the bar trying different drinks on the menu (would highly recommend the Irish coffee) All in all a very worthwhile experience - options are also available should you wish to do extended tours or private events (which looking back would’ve been great to do the cask tasting session)

We loved this tour. It was interactive, engaging and informative. We did the Guinness tour as well and found that one to be a bit of a money grab as it was primarily self guided. I’m not a whiskey drinker and enjoyed this tour anyway. A lot of pride from the folks who are employed by Jameson. You can tell it’s a well managed organization and they must treat their people well as everyone was passionate about their job and pleasant to ask questions to. The tour and tasting were well thought out. It exceeded my expectations. I would do it again next time I return.

Our tour guide was amazing. She gave us the history of Jameson in a fun and informative way. It was great to hear the Bourbon barrels of Kentucky contribute to the flavor of certain Jameson whiskeys. We fell in love with this place and enjoyed their new Orange Whiskey. My GF who was not a whiskey drinker now makes Ginger and Jameson a regular on her order menu. We purchased some personalized whiskey for my daughter and now son-in-law along with making our own bottle of whiskey was a great experience. 5 stars all day and a must when you visit Dublin

you must come here and do a tour if you're in dublin! we had an amazing tour guide (ronnie) who made the experience so good. the history and process of making the whiskey was absolutely fascinating and we loved every minute. you get to sample 3 whiskies before getting your grog (free drink) at the end of your visit. The gift shop is big with a lot of items such as hoodies, t-shirts, hats, posters etc. cant recommend enough!

Had the most amazing time at the Jameson cocktail making class! Loved the atmosphere, the mixologist Marco was fabulous - friendly, funny and knowledgeable! We learnt some really cool tips and tricks and of course enjoyed the whiskey! Highly recommended…

We did the general tasting tour. The place is amazing with an interesting history. We got to learn about how Jameson is made and got to try three different kinds of whiskey. The crested was the best of the three. The black barrel was also excellent. Great historical tour. We need to come back and take the classes. Make sure to check out the cat in the rafters.

My boyfriend and I went to Jameson's yesterday and we had a great great time, we're home visiting family and to celebrate St Paddy's day.... the staff were really great, we got to chat properly with Margaret, in the gift shop, really knowledgeable and friendly and of course our guide Leah was just fantastic.... another lovely girl in the gift shop who helped us with tax back, as he's from America, sorry I didn't get her name, we started with delicious old fashioned cocktails, 12€ each, then we did the 45 minute tour, we booked online 30€ each, it included a complimentary drink, choice of Jameson neat, or with lemonade or with ginger ale. You were able to bring this on the tour instead of rushing...... the tour itself included tasting of Jameson distillery blend, Crested Jameson and Black Barrel Jameson, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back and try one of the other tours another day..... well done Jameson x

We did the cocktail class it was really good fun. Our guide Paul brought us through how to make 3 cocktails 2 of which we made ourselves. The flavours, ingredients and whiskey choices were explained really well. After we had made our cocktails (about an hour) we went to a private area of the bar to enjoy them and they served our 3rd cocktail. We also got a book with loads of whiskey based cocktail recipes. We thought it was really good value for what you got €60 for a taster shot of whiskey, 3 cocktails (4 as there was extra of the last one!) and the cocktail book. I would definitely recommend the experience. Note though that as you are consuming a decent amount of alcohol on this experience they won't let you do the cask draw after doing this one!

Great experience, the basic tasting is a great deal, includes the post experience drink and a nice variety of cocktail options at the end. We went in the slow season, during winter and it was really quiet which made it even better. Took our time and only had a handful of people in our tasting. Loved learning the history, it's not as extravagant as say Guinness, but it's much more educational and interesting.

I visited Jameson for the first time in 2014 and the experience improved even more. The interactive presentation and the knowledge given to us by the Guide make this experience a must-do in Dublin. The tests are fantastic and the atmosphere is fantastic. The staff was always very helpful and cheerful. We ended up buying two Jameson references that don't exist in our country. Fantastic! I highly recommend this experience!

We came here and did the Bow St Experience followed by the Cask Draw which were two incredible experiences. The tour was fantastic (Alex was our tour guide and she was incredibly fun and informative) and the Cask Draw was such a unique experience where we got to try a 21 year whiskey straight from the barrel. Niall talked us through that process and gave us so much information about the whiskey. The experience is immeasurably better than the Guinness Storehouse and is very interactive, a must visit in Dublin!

An absolute must for whiskey connoisseurs and amateurs alike. We took the Jameson Black Barrel Blending Class and we won’t soon forget this experience. I wanted to do something memorable and interactive, the inclusion of alcohol was a plus. This Class included a very informative tour of the Bow Street Jameson location and an overview about the Jameson whiskey making process. I felt like I was watching a documentary full of detailed information and a lot of Irish charm. Our group was made up of only 5 people making for a personal and intimate experience. Based on ticket availability online it looks like this class would only ever have a maximum of 14 people making it a nice departure from larger tours offered in Dublin. Our guide/Jameson Whiskey Expert was very engaging and kept things light. As part of this class you’re able to blend and of course try, various Jameson whiskeys and learn all about what goes into the Jameson process. I won’t spoil anything but this is something that you must do if you find yourself in Dublin for any length of time. Additionally, I would recommend the engrave-able Jameson flask from the Bow Street Market. The flask itself is 25 euro and for only 5 additional euro you can get it engraved with up to 20 characters including spaces. This is an amazing souvenir and my husband is already excited to fill his up with Jameson.

The Bow Street Experience tour is very interesting split into three parts covering the history of the brand and the factory, the production process and finally a guided tasting. After the tour you have a token for a free drink in the main Grog Bar. Which is itself a very nice bar... Look up at the chandeliers. Our guide Joe was very engaging. Nice gift shop too.

Cocktail making class! Great if not the best option to choose from the different activities. Worth booking in advance as there’s not always availability. Good fun with great atmosphere! Reduced groups of max 16 people, the activity allows you to make 2 cocktails from scratch with guidance from an expert cocktail maker. Starting with a whiskey tasting the class followed with the details, ingredients and instructions of two different cocktails (changing depending on the season) and ends the session with a third drink on a private area of the distillery prepared by the instructor. Great option for any occasion from a family event to a friend gathering. Price per person at the time of visit was 60€. Further details can be found on the official site website.

This was my second trip to Suroloyo Peak, and like the first visit it was mostly cloudy, not a good morning to take photos. Unfortunately, this site is not so well maintained, lots of broken steps and signage. You need to go up a few hundred steps to reach a small observation deck. On a good clear day you would have a breathtaking 360° vista. There's an option to walk down toward the West side, the climb is not as steep.

the way here is a bit difficult but the scenery is very nice and beautiful. we can see Mount Merbabu, Merapi, Sindoro and Sumbing.

A nice view platform on a small hill near the Borobudur Temple. Took us 1hr to get there by taxi from our hotel near the Temple and 3hrs to hike back. Though the it was cloudy with occasional rain showers, the view was good. There is a nice coffee shop just under the peak, the owner nicely showed us pics took from the peak when weathers good. You could see stunning sunset as well as the Borobudur Temple from distance.

Every climb has a beautiful view. Please keep the place clean when you come. You can also catch the view of Magelang and Borobudur from here (notes: don't forget to bring binoculars). The air is so fresh. You only charged by 5000/person to climb here.

Better maintenance needed. Got to see Sumbing, Sindoro, Merapi, and Merbabu mountain. Not so crowded.

Suroloyo peak is the one of popular tourism destination to see the sunrise in Yogyakarta. Suroloyo peak is been located at Kulon Progo district and the highest hill in a long of Menoreh Hills. We have to track the stairs before we arrive in the place. There are one gazebo and iron pole (I don't know what is the purpose for). From the gazebo, we could wait and see the sun rise. Beautiful scenery in the morning, freshly, and lil bit windy. In the parking area, you will find some warung. They sell original coffee (arabica and robusta) from their own agricultural field. If you are coffee addict, the place is very worth it for you to spend your day off with nature. Not only coffee, they also sell meals and gasoline. It helps us a lot where we must pass a long journey before we arrive there. NB : Don't forget to bring sweater or use warm clothes because there will be very cold in the night and early morning.

The natural scenery in this place is beautiful. The location is not too crowded and the route is far from Yogyakarta. It is recommended that visitors ensure the correct route and always maintain the cleanliness of this tourist spot. Come when it's not the rainy season. please visit.

Suroloyo peak is the highest point in the Menoreh hills. That's why, the air is clean and fresh. From the top, we can see the four towering mountains, they are Mt. Merapi, Merbabu, Sindoro, and Sumbing. The road to the top of Suroloyo is also safe and clean, there is not a lot of garbage scattered around. It would be better to enjoy the sunrise or sunset over the peak with a cup of coffee with loved ones.

This is the Camera House near the famous Borobudur Temple (there was another one in Magelang City). I visited it three times in 2017, with my family and with my students. It offers interesting themes for 3D photography at very low prices compared to similar 3D camera houses in other cities. If you want to save time and money, I would recommend the 2nd floor. The world of mirrors is a special room offering extraordinary pictures with many-mirror effects. The staff are friendly and professional. The place is clean. You can use your own camera and they will help you take the pictures. Once our smartphone went dead, and they helped by using their own camera to take our pictures and then sent them by Whatsapp. Another part of the bulding has a restaurant with various foods and drinks, all inexpensive and good, and an exhibition of classic paintings. The rooftop offers a good view around. Minus: with the development of similar places, more themes need to be built here.

Amazing gallery I like the pictures displayed here Its combinations of naturalist to abstract and also surrealism From traditional pangosekan balinese to modern realism. Then the trick eye gallery also provide some nice stages From 3d trick to perspective tricks And the mirror rooms can't be avoided The guide also nice and helpful I think the whole package is cheap enough compared to the experience

This place has a different price so you can choose from the choice there, if you want to take a picture with 3D animation you can choose that or if you just want to go to the rooftop ya you can just buy the ticket for the rooftop

Best attraction in this area. We whole family of 8 people are having a fun time spent here. Friendly staff and owners. High quality mirror art, the kind and experienced staff helps to take our pictures.

Was here when its not too many guests. Very nice place for taking eye trick pictures. The short haired female staff was very funny friendly and offering to take pictures for us the whole time me and my friends there. The entrance ticket is divided into parts, from basic art rooms, trick eyes, 4d and mirror rooms. They have cafe too here.

Top Selfie Pinusa Kragilan is a great spot for nature lovers. The picturesque pine trees and owl encounters make it a unique experience. Plus, parking is included, making it convenient. Despite the entrance fee, it's perfect for capturing memorable moments!

Small place, more style...

We came here for a break after a long journey from Jakarta to Jogjakarta, and have selfie/groupie pictures of these two young brother and sister. As the location suggests, we have really fresh air, amazing backgrounds and surroundings for selfies. And, that's it. Don't expect for good and clean toilet, restaurant/food stalls and prayer hall (Musholla). About food, it is better to bring your own (BYO).

The new tourism place to enjoy the view of pine trees. Come here at weekdays to avoid the crowd. They need to organize the parking and the entrance. I'm a bit sad when I see a hawk and an owl tied for the sake of taking photographs with.

Famous because the power of social media. Looks good screen, but it just a pines wood in real life, except people add some viewing decks, off-the-cliff swing, some hammocks. Poorly managed, need to turn a bit far just to get to the parking area. Inside, too many photographer that a bit annoying that just forcing people to take some picture with his service. Everyone is in line to get picture, but they always ruin everybody's picture by photobombing behing because they didn't use the commercial photography service. Really annoying. But despite that, you might get fresh air & cool weather. Might not come back before they arrange that place to be better.

We came to this place after we'd driven along Kopeng and had found it in google map. It was rainy day and we thought it must be quite there. But there were still many people. Not really easy to have a good spot for taking pictures. On the other way, just find some local photographers (with red uniform) and they can guide you and take pictures. It costed 2.5K per picture/file. Car parking fee 10K Entrance fee 10K/person

Weekdays, not to much crowd. And the main activity is only taking pictures. They have several spots to take pictures and it cost 5K/pax/spot. There are local photographers with dslr camera that helps you take pictures. It costs 3K/pic that you want to keep and they will discard the unwanted. We went to local coffee shop when selecting our photos. We only spent 1hour top. After this, we went to Inggit Srawberry 3 for strawberry picking.

This is basically some spot for taking selfies, you have to pay for each people coming to the selfie/portrait spot, when I came there, it was Rp.5.000 each, if you want to have picture taken with DSLR but you don’t have one, there are cameramen around that will take your picture for Rp.2.500 per-file.

A very important journey that explains the maritime force of Indonesia, historically & entertaining. Unfortunately some of the led displays are troubled, and due to air circulation, even worsened by the drought, so the ambience inside the place isn't exactly satisfactory. Wish it could improve more. You pay 25k idr at the ticket counter.

A small museum in the Borobudur temple complex which showcases the maritime history of Indonesia. Not many people will find it very interesting unless they have knowledge or inclination towards naval history. I found it interesting to see naval evolution in this country of islands. If you are with kids, you can give it a quick visit. They may find it very interesting.

Luckily no other visitors when we visited with family even though Borobudur was quite full with crowd. Good animation and narration, kid loves the interactive screen on the wall and underfoot display of sea creatures. Too bad visitors cannot get on board the replica ship.

Quaint museum but you really need to be interested in Indonesian maritime history and voyages to appreciate the exhibits. Part of the Borobodur $25 entrance fee so go to get your money's worth.

The maritime museum of Borobudur. As many Indonesian museums there's not really much to see, and the exposition of the archaeological remains in not always good, but there is an interesting reconstruction 1:1 scale of an ancient jawanese boat based on the Borobudur stone panels.

A nice and very informative museum. It’s free entrance, you just need to write your name in the guests’ book in front. Located near the Borobudur temple. Very quiet, serene, a little bit dark and shabby. A lot of artifacts inside. If you are curious about the history of Borobudur, then this is the right place to go.

Museum keep many ruins of Borobudur stone and also history of Borobudur. Inside museum there are also fish therapy, fountain and place to plug & recharge your electronic device.

This is a small museum in Borobudur temple complex. It shows a number of musical instruments as well as some of the remains recovered during temple restoration. You can give it a quick visit while returning from the temple.
