Divine, holy and serenity. I was blown away with the holiness of the place and I spent a beautiful time just sitting and meditating on the staircases of the lake. If you are at Pushkar, do visit this without thinking twice.

Pushkar lake is in the Pushkar town of Rajasthan state. This is considered as one of the most sacred lakes for the Hindus. The holy temple of the creator-God Brahma is located here. This town is also famous for Pushkar Fair. The Ghats are constructed all around the lake. We visited this place when we were driving down from New Delhi to Ahmedabad. We decided to stay overnight at Ajmer on our way back. Since we reached early at Ajmer, we decided to visit the famous Pushkar temple and lake, which is about one hour from Ajmer. We wanted to take some short cut so we asked the local people, but we drove through the horrible road and it took double the time. (I should have trusted Google Map.) The lake was not clean and we avoided to take a dip into the holy water. Unfortunately, as expected the pujari was chasing us and pushing for bigger puja. Pujari or Pandit told the mythological story of Brahma and that this is the only temple of Brahma in India, which is not true. The guide is not necessary but we hired a guide who hooked up us with pandit for puja. It is easy to navigate into the town and narrow market place. Lots of variety shops were on both the sides of the road which sells very nice artifacts at reasonable price. Overall not a pleasant experience but I could check mark one item from my bucket list.

Pushkar us the love of my life and Pushkar lake a very special place for me. It’s vibrated with unbelievable Shanti Spiritual energy and one of the best places in the India for long stays. There are lot of things to experience around the lake, from observing the local Indian pilgrimage, taking mind blowing photos, enjoying the sunset at the famous sunset point, meditation or strolling in one of it’s quite spots,etc… It’s the place I visit twice a year ❤️🕉🇮🇳

Pushkar is the only place where idol of Brahma (Hindu deity ) is worshipped . The lake near the temple is called pushkar lake . The lake is clean . Not allowed to enter the water . You cannot offer flowers and other pooja stuff to the lake . There's separate pools near it where you can do the same .

One and only religious place for Lord Brahma. One of the best and peaceful place in Rajasthan. The water from lake was not entirely clean so please avoid from taking dip in the lake. Only thing that can down this place is the pandas and pujaris. They force you for puja and demanding a lot of money and after puja they throw all the waste in the lake and pollute the water.

Before going towards Brahma Mandir, there was a way to the left side for the lake. Around/before Ganesh Ji temple on the way. Thou this lake water not so clean. People use this place for अस्थि विसर्जन. So you will see lots of people doing rituals for that. Though there is a seperate Ghat for Bath than the Ritual one. Places to keep shoes. On sunny days, the floor is just burning so much on bare feet.

Pushkar lake is one of the greatest attraction to visit the place. It's in center of city and one can view it from far too. Best time to visit is during sunrise or sunset. Local market is good which open early morning till late evening. There are many cafe nearby which offer great view and food.

This is the holy place for Hindus and considered as only temple of creator “Brahma”. The wall of outer section of temple has names of many people who contributed toward the temple. Temple atmosphere is bit louder as devotees offer their prayers. Photography is strictly prohibited in temple premises. Due to high rush there are good arrangements of security as well. The outer street of temple are good to walk around as it connects the nearby ghats. The cleanliness is not up to mark.

Nice place with lot many temples . Savitri temple you can go by cable car or by trekking also. In Pushkar you can enjoy camel safari also, though they don't show you much but can be a little change. We were lucky that famous cattle fair of Pushkar had started, lot of horses, camel were being brought for sale purchase.

This place is known to be the only Brahma temple in the entire country. The day I visited the temple, it was aesthetically decorated with beautiful flowers. Just outside the temple there is huge market filled with beautiful rajasthani things. There are places to eat just outside the temple as well. However, believe me the temple administration or the concerned authorities should note that the cleanliness, proper queue system and a thorough following of set regulations happen at this divine place. Devotees travel from far and wide to reach here only to find themselves being pushed and pulled in the crowd after opening of doors for darshan. There were people clicking pictures, carrying heavy luggage etc inside the temple. The policeman stationed there objected o about bags only to those who were dressed differently from the local people!! The announcement done by some temple person was mostly Abudive towards a few devotees that too in the Mike!! The serene atmosphere was disturbed by unrelenting croud who didn't want to wait for their turn. It's sad that such divine places are not bring looked into to improve tourist experiences!!

Architecture of Brahma Temple Pushkar - The Brahma Temple was originally built in the 14th century on the banks of the Pushkar River. You can reach the temple with the help of marble stairs. At the top of the main gate, a statue of a swan, the vehicle of Lord Brahma, can be seen. The main gate will take you to the main hall, also known as the mandapa. Then after this there is a sanctum sanctorum where Lord Brahma resides. In the temple a beautiful tortoise made of marble can be seen towards the sanctum. The marble floor in black and white tiles is filled with hundreds of silver coins offered to Lord Brahma by devotees. The walls here are decorated with attractive images of peacocks and Goddess Saraswati. There is also a silver door inside this temple which leads to a small cave which houses the temple of Lord Shiva. This idol of Lord Brahma is situated with four legs and four hands and his four faces are looking in four different directions. Experience is good over there. But there are many THUGS in form of local guides, please take care from them. Ghat is not so clean just cause of people not feel responsible there for cleanliness and just throwing there garbage here and there or in lake. All over experience is good.

Holy religious calm peaceful place! The Jagatpita Brahma Mandir or the Brahma Temple located in Pushkar, Rajasthan and is the most famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Brahma who is considered the creator of the universe. Being the only temple dedicated to Brahma in India, it attracts lakhs of pilgrims every year. Pushkar itself is famous for its religious importance and for the International Holi festival organised every year! Pro tip: Go early morning to have peaceful darshan and then head on for breakfast to the most famous Rabri lassi, Malpua and Kachori samosa (with kadi) near GauGhat. Have your healthy lunch at the Shalom's cafe with some falafel.

Supposed to be a very important pilgrimage centre for the Hindus. But the spirituality is spoilt by the local guides who persuade and emotionally blackmail you to make donations. The place has a rich history and is worth the visit. But just close your ears and walk straight to the lake and then to the temple. You definitely don't need a guide. They will say it is free of cost and then slowly start nagging you to perform some rituals and make donations.

Visited the Brahma Temple in Pushkar, the only one in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. The temple exuded a unique vibe, and the ambiance was serene. Unfortunately, authorities didn't permit photography or videos, hindering my plan to share the darshan with my mom via a video call. Regular announcements reinforced this policy. On the positive side, the temple was well-maintained, and the atmosphere was peaceful with minimal queues. The surrounding market resonated with a holy aura. All those three spots have today turned into the three sacred lakes, which are today known as the Jyestha Pushkar, the Madhya Pushkar, and Kanishka Pushkar. Later when the Lord made his visit to earth, he started with the preparations of a Yajna (fire Sacrifice) at the Jyestha Pushkar Lake, to perform the Yajna undisturbed by the demons, Lord Brahma created a chain of hills surrounding it. However, his wife Savitri was not available for Yajna and was disruptive of the proceedings. On this, Lord Brahma requested Lord Indra to send him a suitable consort to complete the Yajna. When Gujar’s daughter, named Gayatri was finally sent to take the seat next to Brahma as his wife, Savitri arrived. Feeling disturbed, she cursed Brahma that the lord would never be worshipped by anyone. Later on, she permitted his worship only in Pushkar. Beautiful temple on such height, there are steps to reach the temple or one can go via ropeway ( Rs 150 per person). Breathtaking view from the top of the mountain where the temple is situated. I would like it to be a little more cleaner. Visitors should beware of monkeys in the temple premises.

It was a fun cable car ride experience. We were waiting in line for about 30 minutes. There is a beautiful view at the top. Lots of langur monkeys. But there was a lot of garbage. We walked down and it was an unpleasant experience because there were heaps of garbage everywhere on the hill. It’s sad, especially this knows as a sacred place for Hindus.

Excellent place! It's a half an hour trail by walk. Do experience the calm nature, sight of surrounding and listen to your mind. None of the monkey (black faced) show any aggression! They literally sit on nearby trees and rock as monks.

You can walk from Brahma Mandir to a place where you can get an Auto/Camel ride to the Start point of Ropeway The auto/camel ride point is about 1-2Km from Brahma Mandir. It's better to see one of these because it's a bit too much for walking on sunny days. Auto costs ₹20 per person. The Ropeway cost ₹165 per person. Best time to go is right after 2PM or close to 2PM as Mandir re-opens at 2PM. We didn't get any queue but when we came back around 3PM there was a long queue for Rope Way only. The rope way system is good, not that costly either. It. It is a good option if you have time and energy to take the stairs. There are 3 Cabins at once, and it stops mid way for people to get onboard and get off on each end. For a better view, try to get on the end side of the Cabins/Cart. There are quite some Baboons around the temple be careful not to annoy them. They are harmless.

This temple of Mata Savitri is situated at the hill top around two km from Brahmaji temple. One can go to this temple by climbing stairs which are around 900 in number or one can go up by Ropeway. From top of the hill, one can see Pushkar and around areas and enjoy the place.

The Ropeway facility is great. The temple is fine. But there is no proper place for sitting to enjoy the great weather on heights. I would have also appreciate a tea shop or a small restaurant on top with nice views that would have been a cherry on the top.

If you like to try ropeway then this place is great.. There is quite waiting time to visit Savitri Mata temple by ropeway. If you like to climb by stairs then it's ok... Temple is nice and spend some time to enjoy the spiritual feelings and peaceful environment with high altitude...

The temple is very beautiful and spiritual. It's situated on the top of the hill. There are two ways you can reach. The first one is the stairs and the second one is Ropeway. So now let me tell you how people choose to go there...if they choose stairs so either they had asked the mata savitri to grant their wish and then they go by stairs or some of the tourists go for "Bundi" the holy one I was a foreigner couple they were doing it and they told someone about it I just over heard it and got to know about Bundi also. It almost takes you 2 hours to reach the temple. And If you are choosing Ropeway so it only costs 150 INR for one person for both sides it's a great option if You just want to visit the temple and add something new in your travelling experience and memories. It can become adventurous and spiritual at the very same time. When you'll reach the temple you'll see a bulk of monkeys they just stay there and sit and chill. Don't be aftraif when you see them but yeah make sure you take care of your belongings I can't say if they'll snatch one of your things and will run away!! Haha just kidding. They were really nice until you'll tease them. So visit the temple it's really beautiful and gives a breath taking view. It's almost 450kms up from the floor or ground whatever is convenient for one's understanding. But it's just an amazing temple. You can sit there make videos and take photos and have really great time with your family, friends, beloved and solo time also. There is a mini market also where you can have snacks and tea. A free parking lot also available. It's a must visit place if you are visiting Pushkar.

Must Visit Place in Puskar. Ropeway facility is available here.Rs. 165 for to and fro. Stairs are also there but not everybody can use those smoothly. Railings are not there. You will find many leaf monkeys also there , specially on top near temple premises.

People go to witness sunrise and view of pushkar from top. Temple itself is very calm and has very religious value, climbing to top takes too much of efforts as it has only stairs to reach to the top. Ropeway also has started. Overall, great experience.

Temple is located atop a hill. Views of the Pushkar lake and surrounding areas from the temple are superb. There are two modes to reach the top of hill. First and preferred one is by Rope Way that costs Rs 165 both ways. Ropeway trolley will take you to the temple in about ten minutes but waiting time for purchase of tickets and trolley is from 30 to 40 minutes. If you are in good health, you may prefer to climb around 1000 steps to the top and enjoy some great views on the way. It will take around 30 minutes to reach the top by walking - less than the time taken by Rope way including waiting time. Temple closes from 1 pm to 2 pm. So when it reopens at 2 pm, there is a huge rush. Avoid 2 pm to 3 pm slot.

What a great experience the Pushka camel fair. From camels to horses from grossly deformed cows to cobra snake charmers the Pushka camel fair has it all. Don’t leave it to the last few days as the camels run out …. literally .

I really enjoyed seeing animals around me but for me this is kind of torturing animals. I saw few animals were hurts and I didn’t see any one around to help it. One of them was a horse which was bleeding and i didn’t see its owner around. For me, as the first time participating there, i felt kind of bothering animals, keeping them all day long in one place fasten the legs, with everything on just to show people it is nice, buy it ... I don’t think it s fair. Especially it was raining and some of them were getting wet!!

Amazing experience of the Rajasthani culture and folk dance. The main attraction of this fair was the camels and their caretakers. Usually they don't ask you for money for a picture, but some of can ask you about money or charge you for a picture. So be humble with the caretakers and animals while you're going to shoot them with camera and accessories. Also they're so friendly, so be polite

It was an ultimate experience to capture Pushkar Cattle fair from my lens. People of villages of whole Rajasthan espacially of Marwar region arrive here to sell and purchase cattles. Various cultural programs as well as camel race is organised by tourism department. Pushkar Cattle fair attracts Indian as well as foreign tourists. Lord Bhrama temple as well as Pushkar Sarovar are also worth to visit.

This old Vishnu temple is a very beautiful and majestic temple in a peaceful area right next to the busiest area of Pushkar market. I love how it looks and how the locals keep it as a historical temple.

Foreigners not allowed inside the temple. Nobody could give a good reason for this discrimination. Increasingly this is the way things are going with foreigners not allowed in certain places. Very sad. I remember a time when visitors were welcomed everywhere in India.

Rangji temple is one of the best attractions of Pushkar. It's situated in the market at a walkable distance. The temple is big, spacious and old, around 170 years of age, built in south Indian style. This is dedicated to lord Viahnu or Vutthal. There are two temples with same name. This is old one, while new one is also beautiful and grand.

Some irritable lady lives inside who discourages visitors. Even the juice stall outside doesn't know that it's Varaha temple.

The idol is unique: You can see the snout of the boar, with a silver disk representing the earth on it, symbolizing gow lord Vishnu sniffed until he found earth and brought is back up. The temple is managed by a private family since generations, with no assistance from the government. Strange, given how rare this temple is, and such an interesting part of Indian mythology!

It's an old and temple of Varah avatar of Vishnu, in the form of a wild boar. Varaha is generally listed as third in the Dashavatara, (the ten principal avatars). According to a legend, Lord Vishnu turned himself into a wild boar and came to earth, to kill the monstrous demon Hirnayaksh, who was going to destroy the whole universe. Varaha slew the demon and retrieved the Earth from the ocean, lifting it on his tusks and restored Bhudevi to her place in the universe. This temple was initially built in the 12th century by King Anaji Chauhan but was destroyed by Aurangzeb. It was then rebuilt in the 18th century by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur. This temple is considered to be the most ancient temple in the city. The temple has 2 feet white idol of Lord Varaha in the sanctum sanctorum. Various idols including Shiva, elegant carvings, life-size statues of door men and gold-styled pillars depicting Garuda, the bird are situated within the temple. There is a family that lives inside, nice people.

It is said that when Lord Brahma performed yagya at Pushkar lake, Lord Varaha acted as a protector of Brahma & yagya from the demons This temple is not well protected by the government or the archaeological department. It is encroached upon by the locals and one lady lives inside the temple premises who discourages visitors to visit here.

The most underated marvellous temple of Varaha avatar of Vishnu ji . This is very ancient temple dating back to atleast 2000 years back . It has known works done on the temple In 9th century by a local king . A family now resides here and is the owner caretaker of the Temple . The temple doesn’t get funding from state or AsI unlike other famous temples and hence its maintenance depends on good will of worshipers like us . If you visit this temple and appreciate the architecture and the pious feel there , do care about its maintenance and make some contribution financially as offerings . For other famous temples (including Pushkar lake temple ) , the state coffers steal the temple money and make the whole process of daan-dakshina a commercial gimmick with government employed pimps .

If you're on a Pushkar visit for a day or two, must do that sunset or sunrise hike to this temple. Went for the sunset hike and the skyline views had left me amazed! That moment was something else. In that moment, I fell for this city like anything!💚 You will not find much people here. Would definitely recommend. But yeah, leave this place the way you find it. Without any litter or so.

It was alright, i preferred taking the jungle route for added kicks. I saw a wild rabbit, or at least it think it was a rabbit. I went here for the sunset and damn, I was left mesmerized. I ended up spending a good 3 hours here, till the time of the evening prayer. The place is very calming and soothing. It's a short 15 minutes hike on average. And the view is tremendous. I could see the entire town along with the majestic Pushkar lake. There were only 3 people when I went here, and it was really peaceful. Soothing songs were playing at the temple. And I also had a conversation with the local priest, who's a friendly young man. He shared the history and cultural as well as religious importance of Pushkar. Overall, I had a really beautiful time here and I've heard that the sunrise from here is beautiful as well.

This is a really easy walk up and can be done under 20 minute's. Located behind the Marwar Bus Stand it's easy to get to. You can take some beautiful photos at the top and give yourself sometime to enjoy the view. This spot is peaceful and quiet as it is not very busy so you really get a chance to take it all in enjoy it alone. The sun rises behind the mountains and sets over the city so if you want the right lighting for that perfect picture the morning is better.

It was a fun cable car ride experience. We were waiting in line for about 30 minutes. There is a beautiful view at the top. Lots of langur monkeys. But there was a lot of garbage. We walked down and it was an unpleasant experience because there were heaps of garbage everywhere on the hill. It’s sad, especially this knows as a sacred place for Hindus.

Excellent place! It's a half an hour trail by walk. Do experience the calm nature, sight of surrounding and listen to your mind. None of the monkey (black faced) show any aggression! They literally sit on nearby trees and rock as monks.

You can walk from Brahma Mandir to a place where you can get an Auto/Camel ride to the Start point of Ropeway The auto/camel ride point is about 1-2Km from Brahma Mandir. It's better to see one of these because it's a bit too much for walking on sunny days. Auto costs ₹20 per person. The Ropeway cost ₹165 per person. Best time to go is right after 2PM or close to 2PM as Mandir re-opens at 2PM. We didn't get any queue but when we came back around 3PM there was a long queue for Rope Way only. The rope way system is good, not that costly either. It. It is a good option if you have time and energy to take the stairs. There are 3 Cabins at once, and it stops mid way for people to get onboard and get off on each end. For a better view, try to get on the end side of the Cabins/Cart. There are quite some Baboons around the temple be careful not to annoy them. They are harmless.

This temple of Mata Savitri is situated at the hill top around two km from Brahmaji temple. One can go to this temple by climbing stairs which are around 900 in number or one can go up by Ropeway. From top of the hill, one can see Pushkar and around areas and enjoy the place.

The Ropeway facility is great. The temple is fine. But there is no proper place for sitting to enjoy the great weather on heights. I would have also appreciate a tea shop or a small restaurant on top with nice views that would have been a cherry on the top.

The temple is very beautiful and spiritual. It's situated on the top of the hill. There are two ways you can reach. The first one is the stairs and the second one is Ropeway. So now let me tell you how people choose to go there...if they choose stairs so either they had asked the mata savitri to grant their wish and then they go by stairs or some of the tourists go for "Bundi" the holy one I was a foreigner couple they were doing it and they told someone about it I just over heard it and got to know about Bundi also. It almost takes you 2 hours to reach the temple. And If you are choosing Ropeway so it only costs 150 INR for one person for both sides it's a great option if You just want to visit the temple and add something new in your travelling experience and memories. It can become adventurous and spiritual at the very same time. When you'll reach the temple you'll see a bulk of monkeys they just stay there and sit and chill. Don't be aftraif when you see them but yeah make sure you take care of your belongings I can't say if they'll snatch one of your things and will run away!! Haha just kidding. They were really nice until you'll tease them. So visit the temple it's really beautiful and gives a breath taking view. It's almost 450kms up from the floor or ground whatever is convenient for one's understanding. But it's just an amazing temple. You can sit there make videos and take photos and have really great time with your family, friends, beloved and solo time also. There is a mini market also where you can have snacks and tea. First and preferred one is by Rope Way that costs Rs 165 both ways. Ropeway trolley will take you to the temple in about ten minutes but waiting time for purchase of tickets and trolley is from 30 to 40 minutes. If you are in good health, you may prefer to climb around 1000 steps to the top and enjoy some great views on the way. It will take around 30 minutes to reach the top by walking - less than the time taken by Rope way including waiting time. Temple closes from 1 pm to 2 pm. So when it reopens at 2 pm, there is a huge rush. Avoid 2 pm to 3 pm slot.

Nice place with lot many temples . Savitri temple you can go by cable car or by trekking also. In Pushkar you can enjoy camel safari also, though they don't show you much but can be a little change. We were lucky that famous cattle fair of Pushkar had started, lot of horses, camel were being brought for sale purchase.

The announcement done by some temple person was mostly Abudive towards a few devotees that too in the Mike!! The serene atmosphere was disturbed by unrelenting croud who didn't want to wait for their turn. It's sad that such divine places are not bring looked into to improve tourist experiences!!

Supposed to be a very important pilgrimage centre for the Hindus. But the spirituality is spoilt by the local guides who persuade and emotionally blackmail you to make donations. The place has a rich history and is worth the visit. But just close your ears and walk straight to the lake and then to the temple. You definitely don't need a guide. They will say it is free of cost and then slowly start nagging you to perform some rituals and make donations.

Visited the Brahma Temple in Pushkar, the only one in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. The temple exuded a unique vibe, and the ambiance was serene. Unfortunately, authorities didn't permit photography or videos, hindering my plan to share the darshan with my mom via a video call. Regular announcements reinforced this policy. On the positive side, the temple was well-maintained, and the atmosphere was peaceful with minimal queues. The surrounding market resonated with a holy aura. Overall, a spiritually enriching experience. Giving it a thumbs up!

All those three spots have today turned into the three sacred lakes, which are today known as the Jyestha Pushkar, the Madhya Pushkar, and Kanishka Pushkar. Later when the Lord made his visit to earth, he started with the preparations of a Yajna (fire Sacrifice) at the Jyestha Pushkar Lake, to perform the Yajna undisturbed by the demons, Lord Brahma created a chain of hills surrounding it. However, his wife Savitri was not available for Yajna and was disruptive of the proceedings. On this, Lord Brahma requested Lord Indra to send him a suitable consort to complete the Yajna. When Gujar’s daughter, named Gayatri was finally sent to take the seat next to Brahma as his wife, Savitri arrived. Feeling disturbed, she cursed Brahma that the lord would never be worshipped by anyone. Later on, she permitted his worship only in Pushkar. It's an old and temple of Varah avatar of Vishnu, in the form of a wild boar. Varaha is generally listed as third in the Dashavatara, (the ten principal avatars). According to a legend, Lord Vishnu turned himself into a wild boar and came to earth, to kill the monstrous demon Hirnayaksh, who was going to destroy the whole universe. Varaha slew the demon and retrieved the Earth from the ocean, lifting it on his tusks and restored Bhudevi to her place in the universe. This temple was initially built in the 12th century by King Anaji Chauhan but was destroyed by Aurangzeb. It was then rebuilt in the 18th century by Raja Sawai Jai Singh II of Jaipur. This temple is considered to be the most ancient temple in the city. The temple has 2 feet white idol of Lord Varaha in the sanctum sanctorum. Various idols including Shiva, elegant carvings, life-size statues of door men and gold-styled pillars depicting Garuda, the bird are situated within the temple. The most underated marvellous temple of Varaha avatar of Vishnu ji . This is very ancient temple dating back to atleast 2000 years back . It has known works done on the temple In 9th century by a local king . A family now resides here and is the owner caretaker of the Temple . The temple doesn’t get funding from state or AsI unlike other famous temples and hence its maintenance depends on good will of worshipers like us . If you visit this temple and appreciate the architecture and the pious feel there , do care about its maintenance and make some contribution financially as offerings . For other famous temples (including Pushkar lake temple ) , the state coffers steal the temple money and make the whole process of daan-dakshina a commercial gimmick with government employed pimps .
