Beautiful islands off the coast of Granada. We took a boat tour to see the different islands and it is definitely recommended if you are anywhere near. Our favorite island was the one that a Veterinarian bought a long time ago in order for the local monkey population to live in. It was great learning about the history of the Islands and who owns which one. Will definitely love to do this tour again if we are ever back in Nicaragua.

Great place to spend your vacations in Nicaragua. This is one of the most beautiful places in this country with a great variety of animals and plants.

From our hostel we could book the tour for 15$ and it was great! We were the only two in the boat and our guide, Lorenzo was amazing, telling us about the islands and local wildlife. The hightlight was monkeys jumping aboard the ship, just an all around amazing experience.

This is a really fun experience where you can explore Nicaraguas islands called “Isletas”. Some activity’s are fishing, kayaking, visiting the monkey island and get boat tours. Its around 45 minutes away from Managua the capital city of Nicaragua. Beautiful place to go 100% recomendad. We had a wonderful experience recently the tour was great and very informative. Our guide spoke very good English and we had a taste of many chocolate items. We ended up purchasing many items from the store. A very nice way to spend an hour or so. Don't forget to try their brownie. They are delicious.

Great quick tour of the chocolate museum as part of the free walking tour. We were shown the cacao trees and how to blend them. The guide was great and very knowledgeable. We got to try lots of free samples of chocolate, rum and tea. We defo will go back for something in the cafe.

The museum tour was cute. Pretty quick and basic, but it was informative and the guide was fun. The guide is also the salesperson for the gift shop. They offer the tour for free, and ask you to buy stuff. Sounds reasonable, right? Except that all the cacao and chocolate we bought was the worst cacao and chocolate I have ever tasted. Literally, the worst. All of it was burnt. It's the first time I've tasted burnt cacao and chocolate like this. It's not a good taste, there is no desire to eat any of it. And it wasn't isolated to one item - we bought 4 different items, all of it the same. You can definitely get better cacao/chocolate elsewhere, don't buy it from this gimmicky shop.

The Chocolate museum is a must see if you find yourself in Grenada. The story they tell, from Cacao plant to our plate is incredible, delving into the history and modern day production of Chocolate. There is a guided tour in English or Spanish, and the staff there are cooking chocolate delicacies to be tried by customers. Amazing presentation and great sampling options as well.

Silvia was the best. We did a mini workshop. It was such a wonderful hands on experience. If you're in Granada and feeling like making your own chocolate. 10/10 recommend

Absolutely amazing! Really loved how they walked us through the whole process. My husband and I got to try a little of each of their products and honestly we walked home with quite a few things. Antonio was our Choco King and it wouldn't have been as amazing without him.

I’ve been on a couple of chocolate tours in and out of Nicaragua. I wouldn’t say this was the best, or most interesting one, but it was still enjoyable. The best part was obviously sampling some of the things they had in the grift shop. We absolutely loved their chocolate tea, and their brownies were so good! We also visit them to go swimming in their pool on hot days. The pool was absolutely filthy, so as a guest I’m not sure how the hotel is. But the chocolate tour was okay. I don’t think I would pay to do it again though.

I visited the Chocolate Museum simply for a chocolate fix, although there are multiple activities one may sign up to do if you wish to actively participate in the process of making chocolate yourself. I stopped in on a weekday late morning. There was no waiting to be seated to order drinks or desserts. I ordered a Willy Wonka bowl for $8 that was much larger than I expected.. fruit on bottom; banana, watermelon, and pineapple with chocolate brownie and ice cream on top drizzled with chocolate. Whoa, it was a lot! The chocolate was delicious, which was mostly all I was interested in eating along with some banana for variety. We also sampled the chocolate martini (yum) and a chocolate crepe. The crepe was non-traditional and a bit crunchy. The chocolate itself was very good, but it was not the crepe fix we were looking for. Altogether, I think it's a fun adventure where you will find the chocolate fix you crave and possibly learn a thing or two if you sign up for the full experience.

Free quick tour is useless, guide isn't quite knowledgeable. Seems just memories the script. The chocolate is very poor quality. I could sense sugar pieces under my teeth.

We brought our 3 kids, ages 10,8 and 5 and enjoyed the workshop with Antonio. He did a great job explaining the entire chocolate process from its history to actually making it, which our kids enjoyed! We sampled quite a bit of chocolate as well:) Definitely a tourist thing to do…but enjoyed it for a day out of the sun and visiting a new city in Nicaragua.

Let me start with how beautiful and amazing this place was! Antonio, our tour guide and one of the talented chocolate makers, showed us every step of the chocolate making process. From learning when the plants are ready to harvest to getting a feel for the work those before us had to put in to make things out of them, it was an experience I recommend to everyone who visits granada. There is so much to do and see, but this place was an absolute masterpiece. Also, they have samples!!! My family, 2 kids, my spouse and I, and his parents really enjoyed all Antonio and the chocolate museum had to offer. I do believe we will be coming back in the future, if only for the chance to say hello again and enjoy their delightful rum. They also had tea, brownies, and different amounts of chocolate in each of the sweets, so you are sure to find something you like. 10/10!

Museum part is tiny. I didn't go during the free guided one so I just wandered and read. You can walk around the mansion. This is one of 2 chocolate places I found in the area. You can read the info on the posters. There is a nice garden to chill in, I got a traditional drink a Pinolillo. It was interesting, I am glad I tried it but necessarily a repeat drink for me.

Had a chocolate making class with Brandon and bought some chocolate. The class was fun. Brandon was very knowledgeable and energetic. Learned a lot about chocolate. Probably worth $25. I also bought some chocolate which strangely was not very good. The bars were all chrystalized and blooming (cocoa butter separated from the chocolate) I ended up just melting them in some milk for rather expensive hot chocolate. My guess is they were sitting on the shelf for way too long. The Nico tella was ok but very expensive and didn’t taste like the sample. Again probably too long on the shelf. Overall, the class was fun but I wouldn’t buy anything from the shop. Very poor quality and way overpriced.

We were limited for time so could only do the short 'free (tip-based) tour' and it was EXCELLENT. So informative, interesting and fun. We have a fair level of Spanish so opted to have the tour in Spanish. Our guide, Yesareli, spoke so clearly for us which meant we were able to understand everything. She made it great fun with lots of hands on interaction. We tasted/tried a whole range of stuff at the end; chocolate drinks, nibs, body creams etc. We really enjoyed this 20 minute experience and would highly recommend.

I have been to many cacao/ chocolate museums around the world. I certainly have to see that although not the best one I have been it was still a fun experience. We took what the called the “express tour” which was 45 min were we ended up making our own bars of chocolate 🍫. The staff were nice, even tough some seemed a bit tired and ready to go home. I would still recommend it to anyone visiting Granada specially with younger familiy members. 👍🏼

As usual prices from the internet are different from reality once on the spot. So in August 2022 prices for foreigners are 5$ for entrance + 2$ for the maintenance of the tracks. That's only if you want to do the easy track, you have two other options where you'll have to pay a compulsory guide. Then you have yo pay an additional 20$ to go up and down. However on their website it was clearly said that the shuttle was 2$ one way (which feels more like a normal price considering it's a 20 mins ride) So...you'll have to pay $27 for a hike that lasts one hour. Not worth it considering it's not the best view around. Locals pay less for the transportation, which is stupid, because it's only transportation and it shouldn't be more expensive for us. I understand for entrance and other fees that locals pay less but here. Any way we just didn't go. Keep going like this and you'll have nobody on your volcano 👍

Very nice place to go. The weather is magnigicient (24°C) you can feel the pure air and also the sulfur in some areas because the volcano it is still active. If you are in good shape you could visit The Puma way. It is a 4 km tour but if you are not in shape, don't go that way, take the regular way which is a 1 km tour.

Rip Off. Ridiculously overpriced. Foreigners pay 5 dollars at the entrance. For each track (3 of them) you pay again. 2 of them require a guide which in English of course is more than in Spanish. Taking a shuttle is 20(!!!) dollars for one person. Have been in Asia and everything from Mexico to Nicaragua but this is the biggest scam of all. Just did the crater trail but nothing special at all. Do yourself and spend this money somewhere else.

Great Volcano, a must for visitors in Nicaragua! It is amazing for walking, getting fresh air and exploring the nature.

Excellent outdoor experience. A must if you are visiting Nicaragua. Great photography place. They also offer night trails with experts and lodging. Service truck can take you from the base to the top, alternatively you can hike your way up. The Biological Station is rustic. Meals are limited at the top. If your doing the Puma trails go prepared with plenty of drinks and snacks. Eco style bathrooms. Avoid the raining season. Not infant friendly.

This is a great hike with amazing views at the top. We walked from the entrance at the parking lot at the bottom and it took about 2 hours to get to the trailheads at the top. Walking costs $2 and getting a 4x4 costs $20. Park entrance is $5. The walk to the top is extremely steep (straight up the volcano) but do-able. Halfway down, at the cafe, we hopped on a shuttle and they brought us down.

It is one of the most beautiful churches in Nicaragua, but the best is the view from its tower, from it you can see the entire colonial center of the city, and I have done it with Pachamama Travel and its Free Walking Tour, it was a success...

You can’t miss this Cathedral in Granada. Considering that most of the city is flat, this building stands out easily amongst the other structures. Towering far above all of it, visible from kilometres around, are the distinctive yellow and white bell towers and dome of the Catedral de Granada. There’s been a church here since the late 16th century, but, along with other key sites in the city, it suffered at the hands of raiders in the centuries since. In 1856, the church was destroyed at the behest of William Walker}. Later in the century, rebuilding began but continued only fitfully due to lack of funding. The current version that you see now as largely complete by about 1915. The inside is not the most ornate of the old city’s Catholic cathedrals. In fact, it’s relatively sparsely decorated. But what it lacks in crammed-to-the-rafters lavishness it makes up for in scale and a sense of space and calm. The nave is expansive and spacious. The main altar piece is a strikingly beautiful arrangement of a statue of Mary surrounded by silver and backed by bright blue mosaic tiles. Spaced around the interior are a number of statues depicting religious figures and other religious artwork. And off to one side is a small but pretty little white chapel. Well worth visiting and allow at least 30 minutes to explore the inside and outside.

Great spot for photos and sight seeing to learn more of the cities history. If you’re catholic they have a dating service available too oddly enough.

30 cordobas to climb to the top tower. Beautiful church right infront of a plaza where you can find goods manufactured in Granada. The church is still used for mass, ps dont ring the bell as that is the sound of mass initiating.

The staff is not friendly, unwelcoming. You can climb up to get views of the city from the top of the cathedral; it is a nice, quick stop as you're walking around the main park.

Beautiful colonial cathedral with plenty of bright Spanish colors and Spanish tiles. There is an option to go to the top which we definitely recommend. You are able to see the whole plaza from a birds eye view.

Exterior architecture is nice, inside it is not. Very simple, outdated and needs maintenance.

Great place to visit

For $1, you literally have no excuse not to visit the top of the cathedral. The views are excellent and you'll end up getting some great overall pics of the city. The cathedral itself is beautiful so I strongly recommend visiting!

Fantastic cigar factory in Granada, highly recommend going and rolling your own cigar! We went to both cigar factories Dona Elba and Mombacho and while Dona Elba is a traditional family business you can see that Mombacho has specialized in high end cigars and this also includes their tour. The guide Brian did a wonderful job explaining in great English the past of the business and the way tobacco is grown and used for cigars and how you can tell differences. He took us through the wonderful mansion where the factory is located and my boyfriend and I also rolled our own cigar with the help of the local staff who were super helpful! Every detail in their production process is ensuring everything is perfect which is great to witness. I highly recommend going!! A tour incl your own cigar is 10$ (Dona Elba is 8$) and takes about 1.5h

We had an interesting and unique experience doing a tour here, learning about the production and procees it takes to make a quality cigar. Nuvia gave as a tour around and showed us the entire process and gave us a lot of information about cigar making and about Nicaragua. Also the view from the rooftop is the best view of granada and the surrounding area. After the tour we sat down and had a cigar, with some coffee and rum. Definitely recommend coming here for a nice and elegant afternoon!

My wife and I did the tour here, and I also rolled a cigar. I smoke the occasional cigar, and my wife doesn't, but we both found it so interesting. The mansion is also beautiful, and you get to see a great view of the city from the rooftop. Our guide was wonderful!

This is a great little cigar factory in a good location. They offer basic tours and learn to roll your own tours. They have a nice selection of sticks for sale. Its also a plus that they speak english because my spanish is basic and limited. I look forward to enjoying the sticks later :)

Claudio is truly a master, with the mind and spirit of an atelier. It was a gift to experience his passion and joy of cigar making and smoking. With him, Mombacho has a very bright future. The property is beautiful and the cigars were fantastic. Just like their sign says, a "best kept secret."

$10 per person for a tour of the entire cigar rolling process, the experience of rolling your own cigar and taking the cigar home as a souvenir! You can’t beat that! The Mombacho Cigar organization has worked extremely hard for their good name and certification and it shows. They truly care about the customer and making the perfect cigar. Their attention to detail, and their customer service is unmatched! Our tour guide Brian was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the organization. We truly enjoyed his company, and his insight during our experience at Mombacho! There wasn’t a question that we asked that he couldn’t answer! Walking around Granada we saw many organizations that would allow you to roll your own cigar, but they do not offer a tour, OR have one of the highest cigar rankings in Nicaragua! If you are in the Masaya / Granada area, and even if you’re not a smoker (like myself), we HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Great place to learn first steps about how to make cigars while also preparing your first own cigar. Bryan the tour guide was super nice! His english is really good. He explained everything about Mombacho cigars, the building and factory process. It takes some time if you want to roll your own cigar but it’s well integrated in the tour. E.g. while the cigars need to be pressed for 20min you continue the tour. The entire tour takes about 90min.

The cafe in this museum is very charming and relaxing. The garden is pretty nice too. However they only serve one type of coffee- Cafe Americano. I ordered it. Few minutes later the waiter brought me instant coffee. I told him it's not organic coffee and he insisted it was. Then I asked him to bring me the bag from where this coffee was made. He brought a real coffee. I asked him to smell and see if my coffee seems different from the one he brought. Finally he agreed to make me a new coffee. It was a real deal. Heads up as you may be tricked too.

What might have been an institution worthy of one's support is yet another awful example of an organization which has embraced discrimination in all its ugly forms by charging those of foreign origin unconscionably high entry fees. Even students are not spared the despicable treatment; I went with some fellow student colleagues and they wouldn't dare treat us equally and fairly. I and a friend with "whiter" skin were subjected to outrageous questioning regarding our national origin and sought to be slapped with entrance fees over 1,500% higher than those of our colleagues. Such outrageousness cannot be condoned.

The museum is unfortunately closed for now because the owner passed away. The San Francisco Convent Museum has a small exhibition of ceramics.

This was our favorite hotel in our trip to Central America...until tonight. The beds are comfortable, the accommodations are clean and very nice, with everything you could want. The food is also great, and the staff is kind and very helpful. Everything was perfect for our first night. The problem came on our second night. We had a 6:00 am flight, so we decided to go to bed early at 8:00 pm. It is now 1:00 am and we have not been able to sleep for a single second, all because of extremely loud music coming from a bar or restaurant, and this is happening on a Thursday night. We could possibly deal with the music, but throughout every song that is played, the music stops about once every minute for some guy to yell names through a microphone. I wish that I could find out what restaurant or bar this was coming from so that I could leave them a one-star review. If you're looking for a hotel to sleep, this place might not be good for you.

Visited March 2024. A classy, comfortable oasis in the heart of Granada. The hotel is sumptuous with tasteful accommodation, internal courtyards and courtyard pool that takes you away from the hustle of the main Cathedral square outside. Ideally located being only a short amble to the lake shore and all of this fabulous city's attractions and tourist sights. Our room was spacious with a balcony that could easily double as a dancefloor, however, the twin rocking chairs hit the spot. Breakfast included Totally wonderful.

The perfect getaway in Granada!! Not only the hotel is just in front the Parque Central, but it's also a really nice, colonial style, place to stay. Staff was really kind, awesome customer service and comfortable rooms with all the amenities you could need. Clean areas, modern features that bend with the colonial architecture and medium size pool in the center area. Breakfast included with 4+ options and 24/7 private secure parking. Oh yeah, and also they washed my car while we were there. Kudos to them for that!

Easily would say it is the best option in Granada with his own water pumping system and own electricity generator the pool is fantastic the price for the product and quality you get is amazing best location in town right in front of Central Square

Historic handsome hotel in the heart of Granada with luxury breakfast included, swimming pool, guarded parking lot, and excellent service for travelers needs. Beds very comfortable, buffet breakfast includes omelettes made on demand to your preferences.

Very comfortable, old mansion that was converted some years ago into a very nice hotel. The place maintained it colonial vibe but is updated with more modern features for travelers. The staff was beyond helpful! We had a flat tire on one of our scooters, and Victor, the man at the front desk, went out and repaired it himself when I repair man didn't show up. Victor is AMAZING!! The whole staff if really great. Located right in the middle of everything, so it's very easy to walk everywhere.

This hotel is definitely a good place to stay. Great location, they're some rooms facing the main cathedral and park. Great customer service. The pool area is really nice. I recommend it for it's cleanliness, good service and good location.

It has been great to stay at hotel plaza colon. We really received the best services. Rooms are so clean with comfortable beds. All staff members from reception, those helping with the cleaning and those at the restaurant. We really appreciate you a big hug to all staff members we will keep recommending more visitors please. The people at hotel plaza colon make someone feel at home, they're so welcoming and loving. So happy everytime I loved everyone at hotel plaza colon.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views of the cathedral, a tranquil pool, clean rooms, delicious breakfast, and wonderful people who work there. When my original tour company canceled, Victor and Carlos helped me book last minute tours to see the volcanoes and the isletas so that I didn’t miss anything on my short trip. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

Stunning hotel in a colonial-style building across the street from the main plaza in Granada. Everything was great about this hotel--the location, the rooms, the service.

I stayed three weeks at the Hotel Plaza Colon to study Spanish and Nicaraguan culture. This hotel was my home away from home and was lovely in every way. It was impeccably clean and comfortable and in a perfect central and safe location. The friendly staff always went the extra mile to be helpful and make my stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. Thank you all for the wonderful experience.

Hotel is located directly across the street from the park. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Cathedral across the street from hotel. Juan, is very attentive and super serves everyone. Rooms are very clean, hotel in general is very quite. I would stay again and highly recommend. The staff was very nice and helpful.

We found this place well worth a visit. The building is beautiful with many rooms, courtyards and a large garden with plenty of seats to relax. The exhibits cover from pre history to present day and there are many boards in english. Also some wonderful art work. Well worth the entry fee and recommended to visit.

Nice building and patios, but the exhibits are an uninteresting mix of everything and nothing. Not a must in Granada.

Pigeon poo all over walls, half exibits are missing, no toilet paper or soap for my sick girlfriend when we asked the staff just shrugged, half the museum is weird mannequins from 10 years ago and the other is pre Colombian replicas. The stuff we did want to actually look at didn’t have any English signs. Why are we paying 5x the amount when they don’t even have English signs? Overall worst museum I’ve been to

Beautiful building and interesting expositions, I was here a few years back and I had the impression there were more pieces but still has that colonial vibes.

$5. Not worth it. Most exhibition materials are new. There's English. The only interesting ones to me are the old stones and some old pottery, but no description. No idea when and where they were discovered. There are bathroom inside. Nice building though.

Far exceeded expectations. This is 5 museums in 1, with a guided tour provided. The museums detail much about local religious customs in Granda but it also houses an extensive collection of religious art and nonreligious art & paintings from throughout Nicaragua. I was blown away, this is a must see for all tourists to Granada!

Great spot for photos and sight seeing to learn more of the cities history. If you’re catholic they have a dating service available too oddly enough.

30 cordobas to climb to the top tower. Beautiful church right infront of a plaza where you can find goods manufactured in Granada. The church is still used for mass, ps dont ring the bell as that is the sound of mass initiating.

The staff is not friendly, unwelcoming. You can climb up to get views of the city from the top of the cathedral; it is a nice, quick stop as you're walking around the main park.

Beautiful colonial cathedral with plenty of bright Spanish colors and Spanish tiles. There is an option to go to the top which we definitely recommend. You are able to see the whole plaza from a birds eye view.

Exterior architecture is nice, inside it is not. Very simple, outdated and needs maintenance.

Great place to visit

For $1, you literally have no excuse not to visit the top of the cathedral. The views are excellent and you'll end up getting some great overall pics of the city. The cathedral itself is beautiful so I strongly recommend visiting!

if you're speaking English and interested in sailing, they've surprisingly big selection for you! the woman working here, whose name i unfortunately did not ask for, was so kind as to allow me to borrow two books to read while eating across the way. very kind people and comfortable atmosphere.

The most important cultural place in Granada. Founded in 1987 by Dietmar Schönherr, a writer and actor Austrian, of whom we can see a mosaic image in the first courtyard, from above. It is also known as "Casa de los Leones". Painting, engraving, drawing, folklore dancing, music and acting are taught here.

The most incredible doors I have seen. It's as if they existed before the building as some ancient ruin and the building was built around this relic.

Good place to learn about Nicaraguan arts. You can buy some local souvenirs and pieces of art of local artists.

I think is the most complete cultural place in Nicaragua. Art, music, concerts, books and more in one single place.

I had a wonderful time watching the butterflies! It's a bit hard to get there because of the bumpy road (we managed it by car though), but it's worth it ❤️

I visited the butterfly reserve this morning with my son and his two buddies (2, 3, and 11 years old). Each of us enjoyed every moment from the guided tour of the butterfly house to the very well maintained nature trails. It was very easy to get there (moto taxied up from the market near the cemetery, and we were home before lunch). It’s a great and easy way to get into the beautiful nature surrounding the city of Granada, and I’d highly recommend the trip to visitors of all ages.

You can find essentially anything in this indoor/outdoor market where locals do the bulk of their shopping. For a couple reasons, better to visit early morning.

This is a real market not a touristic one so be ready to smell, walk and get lost. Tons of things and variety. People go there to get everything.

Granada's downtown is a tourist trap. Come to the market for real Granada life and amazing meals.

This was truly awesome experience. Just to see all the vendors in one location was great. Make sure you're wearing your walking shoes and bring extras bags for shopping. The deals are great and you will have plenty to see and select from.

I would suggest it for fresh fruit, mostly for the sellers that stand outside. Very warm inside, cheap stores for clothes. Nothing that cannot be missed. It's the point where you get the bus to Rivas.

A very good place to eat. The quality of the food even better; pork was amazing, they call it: mixto, a mix of cassaba, pork rind and cabbage salad. I tried the one from el Parque Central, and if you compare the money you gotta pay, this is cheaper than the one from the Parque. Second of all, you can't find anywhere else the same product, the overall quality and their politeness. The last, but not least, the service given, 10 stars. You can buy a beverage called grama. It is amazing and refreshing.

Tons of products at great prices. Super fresh produce. Always a great way to spend some time! And.....when you find the right vendors for your regular purchases it's always an easy, quick shopping experience 😉

This is a local market selling local necessities and not a tourist market where you’ll be able to buy souvenirs. So it depends what you are looking for as to if the market is worth a visit.

This is a super nice hidden bar with amazing food. It has a great atmosphere. The place was packed with cool locals enjoying the best beef soup in Granada

Visited March 2024. Absolutely a fantastic experience with superb vistas. Our guide was very good. The only downside being the punishing drive to the summit but, worth the effort - great experience, thoroughly recommend it.

We went on the 4 hour puma trail with a guide and it was difficult and slippery but the view and experience was great. Highly recommend if you are relatively fit. A lot of elevation change and very steep.

One of the most unique places I've been in the world! The cloud forest is unbelievable, so peaceful! Gets quite cold up there so be prepared! The ride up is steep in the trucks, so make sure you hold on! Next time I'll make sure to set aside more time to just sit there in the forest and take it all in! Awesome place with unique landscapes and easy to access with great prices.

An easy hike in lush scenery with amazing views. Entry to the crater trail and the return truck journey was $15 per person. Definitely take the truck, don't walk it. The big truck stops at Cafe Las Flores where you change to a pickup truck to go to the top.

Beautiful place. The drive to get to the top is incredibly steep so jump on the parks trucks for $20.

You can hike up or go with SUV all the way up and down to other side. Cost $5 for entry on the road and $8 per person at the top for stay over night and camp or just the short time.

This place has awesome views. From the trucks that take you up the mountain to the tour guides and the people that worked there. There is 3 trails we took the short one with awesome views. The fumarolas were not smoking like other times but the view of Granada and the Isletas from the top is breathtaking. A must go place when in Nicaragua......

Came here by myself. Took a taxi from Granada all the way to ticket office (200 cordoba - if you decide to take a taxi instead of chicken bus, negotiate with the driver regarding the price. The driver was asking for $15USD at first 🙄) Hired a tour guide for Puma trail. I didn’t see ANY view (at viewpoints) due to poor weather condition… Total spent $51USD including the transport truck(how much I paid to the park officer). Do the view worth this money? Maybe not. But it was a good experience. Ps: personally, I find Puma trail easy to moderate… Just a lot of stairs

You don't buy tickets in advance but you can reserve a tour at the hotel. We were not able to see the ity of granada or the Ometepe volcanos but we did see the crater and it was a site. Even on the side where the dead vegetation is the other crater. There are 4 craters. The guide will show you certain holes where you can feel the steam coming out from the volano.

An absolutely incredible experience!! The cloud Forrest is filled with plants and wildlife that are symbiotic. The guide was so knowledgeable, spoke perfect English for those of us lacking in Spanish skills and waited for the slower among us as well. Hiking this volcano is a must do activity. Be sure to get a boat tour of the lake islands that you can view from the top of Mombacho. Definitely dooooo the ziplining!!!! 🙏😂😍
