Stunning beach with the most emerald and blue colors in the region. A true gem. Note; no food is permitted in the park and only a personal bottle of water is allowed through the gate. The park closes at 4pm- you are not allowed to exit and re-enter- only once per day. Come prepared to see all the rainforest and white sanded beach has to offer! Monkeys, sloths, Mcaws, snakes and all the others you can imagine. Absolutely gorgeous piece of nature's paradise!

Clean beaches. They really take care of them. You can also see monkeys and other animals running around. Make sure to watch your belongings though. We even saw some baby turtles on the sad so watch your steps. Only down side is that you can’t bring food to the park so it’s hard to hang out all day. They do have a cafe but the lines are long.

Very nice beach, big waves, clear water, very soft sand. We did see a lot of monkeys. Didn't bother me but there was a lot of sellers walking down the beach and talking to us trying to sell us stuff.

The beach is beautiful but it is quite a walk down from the entrance. I wouldn't come here just to swim but its a nice benefit to the park. Don't leave your items unattended because of the monkeys (they are fearless). Changing rooms are pretty much just a stall so don't expect a rinsing area or mirror to be available.

Beach gorgeous . Warm December swim , cloudy with sand so not good for snorkelling - but good swim and soft sand . Good facilities ie shower Loos and snack cafe up the hill. The park wardens stop the swimming at 3 pm - and start to shoo everyone out of the park at that time . Probably the best swim in Manuel Antonio

Great experience visiting Manuel Antonio beach. A lot of monkeys and animals along the way you could see. The beach was white sand and breath taking views

The beach itself is underrated. One of the best places to take a dip in the ocean. Waves are nice but not too harsh. Good chance to come across some wildlife. There's is also a fresh water faucet.

This beach was stunningly beautiful. We came here as part of our guided tour of the national park, and it was the perfect place to cool off with a quick swim. The sand is beautifully golden and soft, and the waves were very calm, unlike many Costa Rican beaches that we have been to! The water temperature is perfect, and the view of the cove is gorgeous! Would recommend coming here if visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, but remember the walk is about 20 minutes from the car park. Once there, there are bathrooms and outdoor showers to use. Would thoroughly recommend!

This is a hidden gem. It’s a gorgeous beach with very clean water and amazing wildlife. It’s about 30 mins of a hike into the park and it’s an easy walk. The swimming closes at 3 pm usually. The facilities are also nice with picnic benches and clean toilets near the beach. Be careful to not disturb the resting iguanas here. Also look out for a lot of hermit crabs and other small species on your way. Sloths and capuchins are also common to see.

This is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. It is so clean at the beach. The national Park does not allow any plastic or food to be brought in so there is no trash. The water as you can see from the photos are so blue!

Pretty beach. It was the most crowded place we went to in all of Costa Rica, however. Outer trail into the ocean was closed off unfortunately.

Beautiful beach, when your go there after 4pm, there is really nobody. Of course it is a little inconvinient to get there from the crowded beach Espadilla, but nothing you wouldn't manage :) So far the best experience in Costa Rica. Best things in life are free ;)

We were a little unsure about visiting was is apparently " the most visited National Park in Costa Rica". However we had a fabulous time in the park, seeing a lot of wildlife and avoiding most of the crowds. We booked tickets in advance through the official website and arrived early at about 8am. We also chose not to have a guide. You are not allowed to take food or single-use plastic into the park. If you want to eat you need to go and sit in a cafe in a giant cage and buy expensive and not very good food. We had a good walk on most of the trails around the park (some were closed). You do get a good sense of jungle and wild habitat on some of the more remote paths. We also had a nice long chill and a snorkel on a beautiful but quiet beach called Playas las Gemelas, where there was some coral and many fish. This was away from the crowds on the beaches on the peninsula where the monkeys are very bold and can take bags looking for food. We managed to see a fair bit of wildlife too: deer, sloths, Coati Iguanas on the beach etc. I think this place is well worth a visit and if you want to avoid the crowds, you can do this by going early ( or probably later in the day) and going to the less obvious places. I think the Park service does a brilliant job, balancing the number of tourists with the need to keep a reduced impact on the park.

Park has 2 accesible beaches side by side. They are quiet with almost no waves. There are better beaches in Quepos. Careful of monkeys stealing your small items.

Beautiful beach. Waves were very gentle, great for just hanging out and bobbing around. Super soft sand, definitely not a rocky beach! They have restrooms and showers a short walk away.

Nice beach with soft sand and warm water. Can be crowded on busy days, but it's very quiet early in the morning and late afternoon. It's nice and safe to swim, you can also rent kayaks and go snorkeling, but don't expect to see a lot of fishes. The beach is accessible by going through an easy 5-minute hike, but it's advisable to wear proper shoes, as flip flops aren't the best option. Also, try to get there at sunrise or sunset, which is when you can hear the howling monkeys on the hike.

Nice beach, but was pretty crowded. There were paddle board, kayak, and jet ski rentals all for a good price (about $10/hour) and a good cart and small restaurant (?) (bar??) serving drinks and other foods. My friend and I paid $10 for an umbrella and two chairs, which we used for about 2-3 hours. There were a LOT of these set up and they took most of the space on the beach. Getting to the beach requires a small hike (relatively easy but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with significant mobility issues). It’s a very rock path, it’s about a 3-5 minute walk down and a 5-8 minute walk back up. There are bathrooms along the way (₡100 to use) and showers, which are glorified tarp shelters. Overall, a nice beach. Very rocky at the immediate entrance to the water, but it’s a nice beach with minimal waves and relatively clear water. I noticed I felt more buoyant in this water than I normally feel when I swim, and when I accidentally got water in my mouth it was very salty. Not sure what that’s about but it wasn’t bad and didn’t conflict with anything, just interesting! I didn’t see any monkeys come out of the trees and go through peoples things, but it also felt like a pretty busy day at this beach so maybe they weren’t too interested.

An absolutely gorgeous beach with kayaking, chairs, and umbrellas for rent as well as drinks and shower use for purchase. The sand is clean and soft, the water is clear, and best of all… the water is WARM! I visited during July and at no point was I even remotely cold. There weren’t a ton of people, but it was definitely populated. It is quite a journey to get there, as you must take the bus and exit on the main road Vía 618. The bus doesn’t stop directly there, so we had to walk a bit uphill to finally reach Calle Parador then we followed the road all the way down past Shana Hotel to then access the path just past it. After a short 7-10 minute walk through the jungle, you find yourself at the marvelous beach. You can also skip the walking and just order a taxi. It cost $10 to get from Shana Hotel (the nearest place that can call you a taxi) to Hotel Villas Lirio. The kayaking was $10/person for one hour and I found that a huge treat. Also, because this beach is situated pretty much in the jungle, you have a high chance of spotting wildlife. We saw several monkeys monkeying around. This beach is truly a treat in every way and I highly recommend you visit if you’re in Quepos/Manuel Antonio area!

Tucked away, this relatively small beach is a natural oasis. There’s a bit of a walk, some of it a little steep, to access. Check the tide schedule before you go as the beach is completely underwater at high tide.

Pretty calm waters and not too deep. It had some rocky parts. There were some bathrooms near by but badly maintained. Access is less than 200 meters walk from main road.

One of the nicest beaches I’ve been to anywhere in the world. It’s quite small and picturesque. There isn’t a lot of shade and in some parts the tide comes in right up to rainforest, so pick your spot wisely. The beach is in a cove so the water is calm and incredibly warm. It’s also a gentle slope and shallow for a small distance so great for kids. There are people renting a few loungers and sunshades but they don’t hassle you. They also sells drinks at a fairly reasonable price. If you park on the street near the entrance to the trail you may need to pay someone around $4 to watch your car. But that’s about half the price of parking at the national park and they will help you park and turn on the narrow road so I think it’s worth it. The trail is about a 10 minute walk. It’s rocky in some parts but really easy. On the two times we visited the beach either on the beach or the walk down the trail we saw Capuchin Monkeys, squirrel monkeys, 4 sloths, toucans and mot most often within touching distance. It’s now the only beach I would go to in the area.

If you can brave the hills and are in for a good workout, I recommend walking to avoid the parking fees. Otherwise, this was my favorite beach in Manuela Antonio. The water is tranquilo, warm, and shallow. The sand is soft. There is a good coral patch to the left if you are snorkeling. It takes a bit of a rocky walk to get there as others have said but there are bathrooms and showers now on a property nearby (cost about $1)

Another nice beach in the QUEPOS area with clear and calm waters. Watch the slope access from the street, where you can park. A very nice senior couple watches you car at very reasonable price, while you enjoy. Crews at the beach rent chairs and tents but there is also some shadow. And don’t miss the kayak and snorkeling. They also rent there. Enjoy!

This beach has nice sand and great shade. There are monkeys in the trees right by the beach which was a treat. They offer jet skis, parasailing, kayaks, massages, surf lessons, etc, but the prices weren’t necessarily cheap. They were pretty fair though. During low tide, there is a lot of space to lay out and play in the sand. At high tide, the water will get almost to the trees. When looking at the water from the beach, the left side of the beach is really crowded. That is also where to rent stuff. If you want more relaxing and less people and have your own chairs and things, stick on the right side and you get the beach all to yourself. The waves are great for boogie boarding or beginning surfing.

Beautiful, secluded beach. Very mild waves since it’s more enclosed. Much less crowded than most other beaches in the Manuel Antonio area and with fewer vendors walking around if you want a massage or your hair done. We parked a little past Shana By The Beach Resort along the side of the road and paid a parking attendant $5 USD. There are signs along the road that suggest you pay someone to “watch your car” for car thieves. Stay on the right side of the road, and you’ll find a hiking trail that takes you to the beach. The trail isn’t like the one at Playa La Macha as is on the mild to moderate side in terms of difficulty of terrain and steepness. I was in Chacos/sandals and my partner was in studier flip-flops. There’s another sign that points you towards the beach along with bathrooms/showers. We ended up playing a guy $20 USD for two beach chairs under an umbrella. You could probably find a place with decent shade under the trees or on the rocks, but we were warned about the “monkey mafia” that shows up some time in the day, and apparently the monkeys are notorious for stealing your belongings. We ended up not seeing any monkeys. Beach is a little rocky, and we were told to either aim for the middle or the right side when getting into the water. We saw some people snorkeling in the water. There were also paddleboards and two-person kayaks for rent along with this bike/pedal-powered board that I had never seen before. If you’re a strong swimmer, you could most likely make it to a part of the beach on the right towards some big rocks in the water that is more secluded. They also sell food/pizza and drinks along the beach if you get hungry or thirsty, but we had our own snacks and drinks packed with us. Towards the end of our time at the beach, I saw a toucan fly into one of the trees near us. Didn’t see many people with pets, but there was one guy who had his dog with him. Lots of families with young children there. A mixed crowd with people of all ages. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Stunning little beach. More of a local feel. Beautiful water and sand. About a 5 minute walk from plentiful street parking. Gave a guy 2000 colones to “watch” our car and help us get in and out of parking. Definitely not necessary but happy to give him some money for his troubles. Although we didn’t use them, there are places for food, drinks and lots of water toy rentals.

amazing beach! quiet and not crowded, almost no waves there is a stand the sells chairs and umbrellas ( 20 usd to 2 chairs and 1 umbrella) and also sells cocktails (2 for 17 usd ) but eventually they will insist of at least 5 $ tip no matter what you ordered there are also monkeys near by!

Path to the beach isn’t for anyone with mobility challenges and not fun as it’s steep with some very slick areas. Beach view is ok, nothing to write home about. The water is nice but be prepared to walk through a mine field of rocks of all sizes into the water. Not for anyone with mobility challenges. Totally not worth the walk.

Get here early! Your will have the whole beach to yourself ( and the monkeys, sloths, iguanas……)

Very nice and relaxing beach. Way less people than in Manuel Antonio's beach. In our way to the beach we saw a lot of monkeys! Bring water shoes, since we got hit by very pointy stones in the water and made some deep cuts!

Calm beach inside the park. I liked it more than the public beach as there were no vendors trying to get you to buy stuff and I felt safer in there overall. Also spotted a couple of iguanas in there. Watch out for monkeys and racoon trying to go into your bags.

Beautiful beach, located in the Manuel Antonio National Park. The walk through the National Park has several routes which are are worth visiting. This beach in particular is very nice, the view it's imazing from this beach. You can see lots of iguanas on the beach, climbing on the trees. Don't feed them and be careful if you eat and they see you eat, they will try to take your food. A friend of mine was eating a sandwich when a iguana flew from a tree and has stolen the sandwich. We did not know these creatures were flying jajaja. Apart from iguanas and monkeys we didn't see any other animals on the Park on that day. Very touristic place, I guess animals go somewhere else higher into the mountains or hide when there are too many people around.

Beautiful. Wild life is everywhere. Must go if you are in Manuel Antonio national park.

Probably the most wonderful beach I have ever been to. Great place to relax for a day or two. Remember to bring everything you need as there is nothing but sand, trees, rock and water around. And a lot of animals of course.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We were driving to the Manual Antonio National park when we were flagged down and asked if we were heading to the park, we said yes, the man said he was an official guide and told us the pricing to enter the park. We didn’t know any different as he had on a badge stating official park guide. He discusses the pricing with us and I felt it was high at $160.00 for 3 adults and 2 kids but I didn’t know any different. I paid him and he escorted us over to an SUV, he then gave the money to the women in the suv said something in Spanish and off we went. She then handed $50.00 to some other guy said some Spanish and told us that he would take us to the park. He then took us to the park and gave us 3 tickets for the adults apparently under 12 is free. The total for the there tickets was $48.00. The guide took us on a tour of the park (by the way the guide didn’t work for this company) and he was great. He showed us the monkeys, sloths and history of the park. When it came to the end I asked him how we would get back to our car. He asked me how much I payed I told him $160.00, he told me his cost is $20.00 and to get in the park was $48.00 so I overpaid by $92.00. These guys are con artists and a rip off. Don’t trust them one bit. I wish someone would have posted to watch out for these guys. We couldn’t be the first family this has happened to.

I think this website is a little misleading. If you’re thinking this is An official Manuel Antonio guise group it isn’t. MA doesn’t have guides, all the tour operators are private. I booked our tour specifically trough this website thinking it would ensure our enterence into the park as it “only allows 600-800 people a day” when we got there the rep from this company said unfortunately the park was closed because it had reached capacity. I had talked to them the day before asking when it’s okay to arrive and they said any time is okay. So it was pretty irritating when we got there and they said we couldn’t come in. Lucky for us somehow we did get in(the government or someone decides how many people to let in per day? Still not exactly sure how this works) and honestly the tour was great from then on. I appreciate the communication and I liked our guide. I think you should go for the private tour if you can for sure. Too many people with the regular tour. So overall I think the website is misleading but the people are great. Thank you. And just know booking with this site will not ensure you entrance to the park. Get there before 10.

Lots of fun on the boat but the boat did laps around the coast not traveling too far in any direction. The drinks were free but beer was an extra charge, probably because there wasn't much alcohol in the drinks and they could make them affordably. The food was really delicious and the sunset views were outstanding. I would recommend this trip.

An amazing cruise - everything that you want from a cruise and more! Fabulous and friendly crew, informative commentary, cocktail drinks (included), delicious food (fish skewers & pasta), snorkeling, water slide as well as pick up and drop off to accommodation. We saw dolphins and whales and the sunset was beautiful. Unfortunately I lost my ring when snorkeling, unbelievably and amazingly, Jorge (a free diver crew member) found my ring on the seabed 10 metres below! Absolute highlight for me! 💍 Gracias Jorge! 🙏🏻

The catamaran tour with Planet Dolphin was better than we expected. It was a really nice activity. The group of people was not to big (about 30) for the really big boat. Cruising with a catamaran on the pacific during 30°C and sunshine is one of the best things you can do. We had a fresh breeze on the search for the dolphins. We found a group of about 5-6 dolphins who travelled close to the boat and followed us for a while. The snorkeling spot was not so nice (not so many different fishes) but swimming in the ocean was awesome. The people on the boat have been very friendly. We got free drinks and food after snorkeling. I would recommend doing this activity while you are here.

Took a snorkel tour out last week while visiting Quepos. We had a FANTASTIC time on our tour! I had done a similar tour with kayaks last time and was looking forward to the catamaran instead. The staff was knowledgeable, took us around animal areas and nature & teaching, while others were checking on individuals to serve drinks which were great as well as juices. We got to see dolphins, tons of birds, and although the water was not clear that day, we still saw a few fish and enjoyed swimming. Slides seemed fun for kids and adults. Snorkels, flippers, and vests (mandatory) are available for those who need. The lunch was also a 5/5, very fresh and just prepared on the boat itself- a mix of fish & veggie skewers, pasta salad that was great with fresh ingredients, and fruit. There was a miscommunication that I was vegan and they actually had specific food set aside for me just incase. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed everything about this experience! Would definitely suggest them! 🐬

A beautiful cruise, and a nice lunch, but it did not offer what it advertised. There was no history information, no commentary on the natural history or animals. Not that we saw any! But that is the risk you take when you go looking for animals. Maybe they were scared away by the loud music! When it anchored for snorkelling, I was expecting that to be the best part, but the visibility was not very good and the one little rock was packed with people from other boats. I felt like we were summoned back before we had been out for very long. We were also excited for the slides, but you could only do them once because they are death defyingly steep! In summary, save your money, go for walk on the beach and buy yourself a nice lunch somewhere else.

Totally worth it to go on this trip! The sea is absolutely beautiful. Saw the dolphins... They offer all you can drink services (including alcohols....)! The slides were fun... The crew were super friendly! The food was good too! All the friends want to come back for more next time they visit Costa Rica!

We had a phenomenal time on the Thursday afternoon your! Not even a little rain could dampen our fun. The boat has more than enough space for the amount of guests on board, so you never feel cramped. The crew were extremely hospitable and made sure you didn't go hungry or thirsty. One of the guys making drinks for my wife and I had noticed we was running low, and by the time I got to the bar he had all ready made our next round. Our favorite part was when the boat stops and you have time for water activities. We spent most of our time jumping in the ocean from the top deck. The food, which was fresh fruit, pasta salad, and wahoo fish kabobs was exceptional as well. This excursion is great for any age, highly recommend!

Hand been on this cat tour two years in a row and both trips have been excellent. Quepos Marina is beautiful with a variety of places to grab food/drinks, do a little shopping before the boat ride. Parking is secure (gates) and every vehicle is stopped before entry. Both trips had excellent food, music and sunsets. Our 1st trip aboard the boat was on a perfect day with minimal cloud cover. We had chosen seats on the upper deck which give a great view of everything. There is cover (shade), however, you can't escape the sun completely. Definitely take sunscreen, sunglasses and a sun hat. The deck is very grippy and we all ended up removing our flip flops. No problem slipping but you do need to gain your sea legs quickly. With conditions being perfect we went snorkeling, slide down the water slides and jumped off the boat. Second trip, back to the upper deck. The weather comfortable enough to wear swimsuit only and decent cloud coverage with rain storms were all around us in the distance which never crossed our path. The highlight of our day was the humpback whales! We were fortunate our captain had spotted them and headed their way. Amazing and so unexpected! From there we went to the cove to play on the slide and jump off. Snorkeling was out as the ocean was churned up and visibility was nada. Staff is super friendly and very deserving of tips. Highly recommend.

AMAZING experience!!! It was the perfect way to end our Costa Rica trip & a great way to meet new friends. The boat is FABULOUS & the crew were FABULOUS as well! A must do!

Our family of five, with children ages 5, 7 and 8 had an amazing experience with Planet Dolphin. Some highlights included transportation, helpful caring staff, delicious food, fun and safe snorkeling and great music on board. The scenery was beautiful and we were so happy with our excursion!

Most touristy tour of all of our activities during 10 days in Costa Rica! The crew is nice, all inclusive alcoholic beverage is meh! Food is 3.5/5. Snorkeling is non-existent. The slides are rough. It's one and done. Probably, I had high expectations. I should have done my research. The scenery was good but I didn't get to see any dolphins or whales

A great experience with a very professional crew. Took the 2:00pm cruise for the sunset. Picked us up at the hotel along with other guests. Cruised along the coast and tied up to a buoy to snorkel in a cove for an hour. Excellent meal with fish kabobs and unlimited pina coladas, water, etc which were great! After the swim, made our way back towards the marina and watched the dolphins surf off of the two hulls. The sunset was amazing! I would highly recommend this experience!

My group definitely enjoyed themselves & saw amazing scenery 🌅 and ate delicious food for a good amount of time. Very professional and one guide gave me something to help with my motion sickness. Definitely recommend.

The catamaran tour was very nice and ran on time, which was very important for our party since we had another tour to get to. The staff were very friendly, and Jorge was especially great. Jorge spoke English well, joked with the passengers, and kept things running smoothly. On our trip, we saw dolphins and got a beautiful view of the ocean. There were areas on the boat where you could sunbathe, but we were pleasantly surprised by how much shade there was to sit in. The snorkeling was fun, and the boat had several slides into the water. If you do the larger slide, make sure to keep your head down and legs crossed! There were two freshwater showers for when we left the water, which was wonderful. The lunch was on the boat, and everything was delicious. We were served delicious fish kabobs, pasta salad, and fresh fruit but there seemed to be vegetarian options if needed. Our only note would be that we had the impression that we’d stop on a beach, and we didn’t really do that. We snorkeled near a beach, but didn’t get on the sand or really spend much time there. Overall, we had a wonderful time!

Tom Cat catamaran was so much fun! Stephen the bartender and water slide attendant was courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. An absolute professional who anyone would be so lucky to have on their next adventure. His ability to hold a conversation while tending bar for the masses was second to none. The captain of the Tom Cat and all the mates were incredibly accommodating to all levels of adventurous and abilities where anyone can truly feel safe about taking the first step off of the top deck or placing your face in the ocean to enjoy some fantastic snorkeling. I would highly recommend families and adventure seekers take a stroll with this crew. You won’t regret it.
