Beautiful sunsets! The peacefulness and view of the sunset while waiting for darkness was almost better than the bioluminescence. The bioluminescence was also cool of course since there are only a few places in the world where you can see it.

The bioluminescence of the lagoon will vary greatly. Optimal viewing is during the warmer summer months and during newer moons. While a tarp overhead isn't required, it really does help block out extraneous light. #bioluminescence #mangrove #kayak #night

Luminous Bay was damaged by the hurricane in 2017 and is slowly recovering from the damages . The Guides were very enthusiastic and helpful to all of safety as well as explaining the importance of being respectful of the eco system of the Laguna Grande Bay. We found the adventure to be true and realistic 10 out of 10 on the the kayak adventure 8 out of 10 on old history of the area and knowledge of the area's eco system.

Wanted to visit at 9pm on a Tuesday. The only road leading Launga Grande was closed. So weird there is only one road to get to this place?

Nice place to observe bioluminescence during the night. Take a bio bay kayaking tour with one of the companies that offer this.

Long lines and wait time. Not too big of a ferry and be ready if you get sea sick. This is closed so if you need fresh air, let someone know. I had issues even with dramamine.

This was our first time to the ferry for Culebra. When we arrived we found a parking lot at the very end for $5. The Ferry was supposed to leave at 9. It is now 9:32 and they are JUST NOW deciding to put more fuel in the ferry, when it's been sitting here for hours. There are several lines you have to go into to end up at the final destination gate for the ferry. The lines are fairly long and some are in direct sunlight. If you're with someone who can't stand long I would suggest bringing a chair (you have to pay $1to bring a chair and you are allowed one bag for free). We've been standing here so long that I've decided to sit on the bare ground. The family beside us (also on the ground) said they had been here since 1am trying to catch the 4am ferry that left late at 5am. Apparently residents got priority and there was not enough room for everyone. It seems like leaving late is a normal around here. Be prepared for a miserable wait. Also, when you get on the ferry people will try to save seats with their bag and say it's reserved so no one sits next to them. If there's no human there, it's yours. The Ferry finally departed at 10:08

Ferry ride was ok but like most times, you run into people who just don't know how to act like adults. Even when crew members tried to get them to stop, they refused to listen. Needs a better security system. It's also very disorganized because there are different lines for different ferry on the main Island side. Once you know where you need to be, then get ready for wait time on both sides of the ferry terminal. The price is very cheap in cost. $4 both ways total for adults.

Just to start, you call the number available for assistance and this people never pick up the phone. This puts a bad taste in my mouth already. I just want to know how much is the ferry ride before I make an 1hour drive to the terminal. I just want to talk to a person to ask questions 😞. Bad communication...I arrived to terminal at 800am and it was crazy. Soooo many people it is almost descourage but, the Ferry fits 350 people. It took me 2 hours to get me a ticket and board ferry. Maybe the phone for assistance it's inside the old terminal, which it is closed down for "REPAIRS". Once you arrive you get a better assistance. There is guards (no policeman) everywhere who wants to help. The area looks like you are about to enter into a concert or cross a border...Food in Culebra it is expensive but of course you are in a small Island. I want to make sure you understand it is worth it (see pics please). Once you are in Flamenco Beach you will forget what you went through to make it there. When you get to the beach go to the left (less waves and nice reef in shallow waters) You can take your own snorkeling set or you can rent one in Culebra. Going back to the mainland is not as stressful as going into culebra. Enjoy.

Here's the thing about the Fajardo ferry...you have to use common sense when planning your trip. Don't expect to show up 30min till departure on a weekend during the summer when all the locals are taking their kids out to the islands and expect to get on the boat. If you plan your trip to Culebra or Vieques on a week day (T-F) during the school year (such as Mid-Aug through Nov) and show up a good hour early, you will be fine! We were able to get tickets with no wait, and although we had to sit on the ground we got where we needed to go. There are bathrooms in the terminal and vendors with water and food. It's a terminal not a hotel.

If it is your first experience at this ferry be prepared for a lack of help, poor signage, long waits in the heat. (Thankfully they now have tents to wait out of the sun) The value is great compared to flying or swimming but the experience is frustrated those who like timeliness, order and efficiency. This ferry gives priority boarding to locals even if you have a ticket you might not make the ferry you have purchased a ticket to ride. It's the way it is. Locals are working to privatize the ferry to achieve a better service. Just bring your water, find the bathrooms and plan to wait in long lines as your vacation awaits you in Culebra. Be patient.

The queue could be really long, better come early. The ticket price is low if you manage to get one.

I would give them zero star, this is the most terrible experience about traveling that I could describe. Please don't take this Ferry this is the most incompetent way to travel to the Island . Don't take this Ferry I am telling you, if you are a tourist you want to be relaxed, save your time, so this is the worst idea to go to Culebra or Vieques Island. Pay whatever you have to paid , and it will be worth it because the other way even though you do the line early and get the tickets you have to wait until the time they want to departure literally when ever they want, they said 9 am but that never happen. Believe me awful experience. Consider time and money that you put just to get here and you will regret not paying the flight.

Just beautiful. If you are here there is no better place to spend the day.

You absolutely NEED to visit if you're in Puerto Rico. It's breathtaking in person. I've only seen water like this in Croatia.

Absolutely breathing. Rich in history. Be careful traveling off of the resorts though, crime is bad and tourists are heavily preyed upon. Also, check your bill before you tip as many places pump you full of alcohol and add 20% to your tip. We found that out after a few days of paying tips without knowing they were already adding them.

Got to Enjoy Both The Ferry Ride from The Bay of El Conquistador Hotel as well as The Beautiful Tranquil caribbean Private Beach.

Amazing tranquility aquamarine waters you need to go, their are many water taxis that will take you their for a reasonable price also group fares that includes cooler beverages chairs snorkeling gear and umbrellas

Very beautiful spot to check out while in Puerto Rico. I was recently here and fell in love with the colors. There isn't much on here other than swimming and hanging on the beach. I used East Island Excursion to get here. They were amazing. Depending where the boat sets up, it can be challenging to get to the beach. I would definitely be back on my next trip.

The water is amazing and it’s very close to the main island. It is not recommended to walk inland due to tracks left behind by miners. The beach is “crowded by uninhabited island standards”. We went on a Sunday in late August when tourist season is lower. The water is shallow close to the shore.

So beautiful!! There's nothing there, so pack drinks and food if you plan to be there all day. I will definitely be back!!

You "typically" access this via catamaran excursions from Fajardo. I think it was almost a 30 min boat ride. The water is very clear. Areas near mangroves are slightly murky. The water is very calm, but the tide pull can feel strong. It's easy to drift if you're not paying attention. The snorkeling is alright, which may have just been due to where we were. There were some cool finds (flat fish) and some fish diversity, but there's better. You can find tons of conch shells too which is a cool souvenir, instead of going to a gift shop.

Beautiful island. Went with a charter trip the first time. Second time with a water taxi. There are no vendors on the island, so plan appropriately if not going with charter.

We really enjoyed the water park. We got there relatively early (before lunch) and stayed until it closed at 5:45. My daughter had a blast, met some playmates and we all enjoyed the slides and the last river. Preferred this over Palamino Island.

All day fun for the kids with multiple slides, an infinity pool, general pool area, a lazy river and a small bar and cafe.

Tons of fun, free if you’re staying at the resort! (Yes there was a rainbow when we left)

Poorly run. Staff randomly decides to close the park early if they feel it’s getting quiet!? So out of luck if you show up for the last couple of hours and it ends up being 15 mins. Lots of pointless petty little rules for absolutely everything. Manager Marisa proudly runs it like a small town prison warden. The least fun version of a resort water park you can imagine.

Sooo fun! Three big waterslides including one with a free fall start. Lazy river and little kid waterslides too. At 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, very uncrowded and no lines. Also has dressing rooms, showers, etc plus food. Gorgeous views in the Caribbean too. Tip: have your friends take photos of you on the highest plunge slide from the bridge just in front of it. We visited in March 2022 and admission was included in the hotel stay - no additional charges as some reviews below indicate.

Do not bother coming here at all if your children are not over ‘48 inches tall. They will be allowed to use 1 small slide. That is all. No exceptions. Doesn’t matter if you have a life vest or you are accompanied by an adult or know how to swim. Not worth it. Not worth the drive. Only 3 other slides anyway. Disappointing to say the least.

You advertise this location as a waterpark, but is a feature part of your hotel . when you advertise this as a waterpark, you make people believe that you can just pay to go into the waterpark. This is not the fact I tried to do it last year called the hotel, thinking it was a waterpark. It says only for people that are staying there amenities to be used

Pretty good food, this family style restaurant is inside the marina. Some dishes are better than others. Best thing about the restaurant is how B I G the menu is... many options. There is an extensive dessert menu, so save room.

Beautiful Marina with a great place to eat seafood. The ambiance is nice for an outdoor space and a quick bite to eat. The boats are well taken care of with top-notch service.

We stopped at PDR for a 5 day break to provision and get some rest after a long passage from the bahamas. The marina is first class in every way. It’s big and extremely well managed. Most notably the staff is 100% focused on the customers and are smiling and always happy to assist. We encountered at least 20 of their staff over the five days and without exception they were solely focused on anything we needed. And they’re all super friendly. The facilities are excellent. The docks are fixed so have your fenders ready. They are free of damage, debris, and “sharp pointy things” that we all hate. The on-site restaurant was excellent with a good assortment of seafood and cold beer! Check the happy hour specials for sure. We will definitely be back. Thanks PDR for an excellent stay.

Booked a snorkeling 🤿 trip here and it was lit 🔥 staff was very very professional and very well trained. Great experience.

This is one of the best marinas I have ever visited. It is well maintained and the grounds are kept immaculate. After arriving to the marina on a boat, we headed for the indoor showers. These too are well maintained. The issue we had was that after getting into the shower stalls there was no water pressure, just a trickle of water which we reluctantly endured. Why only a trickle? Was the water shut off for some reason? If so, then the main door to the showers should have been locked and a sign posted. This is unacceptable as this marina bills itself as world class.

Puerto Del Ray is an amazing marina. Don’t let the size intimidate you, it’s very clean and easy to navigate. Parking can be kind of difficult depending on the time of day but still not bad. Marina is easy to navigate and there’s people to help you find whatever it is you’re looking for.

My family and I did the catamaran to Culebra with East Island tours. The harbor was clean, and everyone there was kind and helpful.

Not an inexpensive place to dock but amenities are excellent. Need a ride to go anywhere else.

Oh my! The views while snorkeling were just gorgeous. Both our tour guides Paoula and Matthew were so kind and accommodating. The only thing is I wish there was a shorter tour without the island visit as I was definitely tired by the time we got there. Overall a great trip and we'd definitely go again.

This visit was on Feb. 2017, to this Marina. This was seven months before Hurricane Maria that hit and devastated Puerto Rico. The damage was felt for months by the people. There was water and electricity losed for the whole Island, it continued on from days to months for others. We had a blessing to be able to enjoy this just before it became a life changer for many. Beautiful view from our balcony on the 25th floor. This is from condos the Dos Marina ll Tower, an Airbnb we rented. My wife and I would make breakfast, lunch or dinner and sit out on the balcony to enjoy the beautiful site. Watching the boats heading out or heading back after a tour. The morning sun rises were an awesome view to see.

The instructors were really professional and helpful and really kind.. it sucked that the ocean was choppy and I didn't get the experience I wanted but next year they will be getting new boats so hopefully that will help the adventure...

Beautiful marina that is very safe. Has a guard that controls access, and a clean restaurant and restroom area. Of course with all of Peurto Rico, everyone we ran into was nice, and we were there for a snorkeling trip on the Innovation. After the trip our Uber came right to the marina and took us home without any problems.

The tour guides were very friendly, fun and knowledgeable. Every minute was fantastic!

Stunning and picturesque! Amazing place. Not for swimming though, but for just spending time to look on ocean power and beauty. Not much natural shadow during the day. Getting better at afternoon.

This is one of my favorite beaches on the whole island. Its a short, easy hike (15-20min) from nearby Seven Seas Beach, but its worth it. The water at Playa Escondida is often cloudy because its directly on the Atlantic but Playa Colora is in a protected bay, and the snorkeling and free diving here is fantastic. Be aware of rip currents, however; never go diving alone. The beach itself is very big, with plenty of room for everyone, and there’s even a secluded pool on the Western side, near the rocks. Lots of reef diving opportunities and plenty of corals. Make sure you bring plenty of drinking water, as always.

This was a great little beach, the sand was super soft, orange and there weren't many people there when we arrived. Mostly because it's a hike from the other nearby beach. When we arrived at the beach, there was only one couple there, so we had the whole thing pretty much to ourselves. The waves were rough and it was white caps for an hour or two. A local was hiking and told us that the tide was changing and didn't suggest we go swimming there. So we hiked it to the next beach over. It's totally amazing and even better if you take the extra hike up to Playa Escondida, a few hundred meters up the trail.

Beautiful hidden beach! Definitely worth 15 minutes walk through the jungle

This beach is absolutely beautiful. I believe it is one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. It is super quiet, the sand is pristine, and the waves are very large and beautiful. We thought that this beach was prettier than the nearby playa Escondido and well worth the 20 minute walk. A must visit if you’re in the area.

I grew up and have lived my whole life just minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Pinellas county, FL) but THIS beach is the most spectacular beach I’ve ever stepped foot on. Indescribable beauty. Totally worth the somewhat muddy hike. Definitely can’t swim here but go a little further to playa Escondido and if the condition are good you can swim close to shore in the shallows which is a very welcome swim after that sweaty little hike. Oh, and there were less than a handful of people there when we arrived and ended up alone before we left. Not crowded at all.

Is a beautiful beach, but mostly for relaxing and to sit at the edge of the water, because waves are strong! (At least at the time we went, mid September around 4pm) Although the path to the beach was easy enough to find and follow, make sure to wear closed shoes and repellent because is full of mud if it rained and infested with mosquitos.

First beach we visited when getting to the island. Decent little hike to get there, it is a very steep beach, minimal shade, lots of rocks. However we had it completely to ourselves, so it was awesome. Not really a good swimming beach because of the waves rocks and current, but it’s gorgeous.

Yes this beach is fabulous, but beware of strong currents, especially rip currents. There is no lifeguard. Apparently a tourist drowned here in October 2023. According to a local, he was found far away from the beach, after a rescue operation started.

Best beach we visited in PR by far. Gorgeous blue crashing waves (do not attempt to swim) and completely secluded inlet. As other reviewers mention, it is a hike to get to! Recommend wearing close toed shoes like sneakers, it’s not difficult but sandals are a little tough. Sand is a bit coarse but that seems common for PR. We went on a Monday afternoon and were completely alone on the beach for hours listening to the waves and catching sun. There are no amenities with how secluded and remote but definitely worth the trip. There was even a few palm trees to provide shade if you need a break from the sun.

Beautiful beach with great views of the lush green cliffs just a short detour (1-2min) off the main trail. Swimming is strongly discouraged as there is no reef breaking the tides and waves like the other beaches near by.

We parked at Seven Seas and then hiked the path to Playa Escondida (see instructions others have posted before to navigate the trail). The path was not muddy when we went, but it definitely has the potential to be wet and slippery when it rains. It wasn't a bad hike, but it's not wheelchair accessible and not likely recommended for those with any type of balance/walking issues. The hike through the mangroves was beautiful. Take your time and enjoy the hike. Look for the little violin crabs by the mangrove trees, the huge hermit crabs on the trees, and the local birds. The hike IS a feature of going to this beach. We went on Christmas day when other tourists were also visiting, so there were other people there we shared the beach with. We snorkled in the protected rock area and saw all kinds of small, tropical fish. We also walked to the two points and got some amazing views of waves breaking on the coast! Good day trip for couples and families! Pack some food and water for your afternoon and a trash bag to haul your trash back out. Take an extra trash bag if you can to pick up litter on the trail on your way out to keep this hike and beach beautiful!

Beautiful beach. As many have said park at Sevens Seas beach and walk to the left until you see the sign and follow the trail. Bring water and refreshments and enjoy. Water is calm, clean (no seaweed) and clear. Would definitely return.

Don't follow the GPS it will lead you to a dead end. Head to Seven Sea Beach, enter and walk all the way down, follow the signs. It's a bit of a hike. I recommend wearing hiking shoes or sneakers due to an uneven trail. It's about 15- 20 minute walk. There are signs stating that this is not recommended for swimming due to strong waves. There was glass and a bit of trash. It was a nice view overall. Just be careful!

Amazing beach. Very quiet and peaceful. Small hike to it is beautiful as well. Very long shallow water line. Color is amazing. We saw a lot of beards.

What a spectacular place! What an incredible experience, at first we were a little scared on the way but it was totally worth it. To get to this place all you have to do is park at seven seas beach, use gps to get here. The beach is calm and super low! I love this place and I carry it in my heart ❤️

The beach is very beautiful, the sand is like reddish, the views are spectacular, you have to get to Playa Seven Seas, park and then walk about 25 minutes walking until you reach Playa Escondida. The sunset looks very nice, the water is very clear.

Beautiful beach absolutely worth the ~20 min walk from seven seas beach. Lots of room to spread out from other groups. Water was very calm and clear. Note there are signs warning against swimming due to strong currents. Maybe we got lucky with the conditions the day we went.

I so wish that there wasn’t a rip current and high surf advisory happening while we visited. Regardless, we hiked through the muddy mangrove path and enjoyed the nearly secluded beach so much. We will definitely return whenever we are back on the amazing island. Too bad there was so much trash along the beach. Be careful you don’t get cut. Do better everyone. If you are able to carry it to the beach, you can surely carry it to a trash can. Cheers!

Walk through the mangroves past Seven seas beach about 20 minutes to this beautiful hidden beach. Easy trail level ground. Don’t attempt during heavy rain or the day or so after heavy rains. The trail will flood and be muddy. Worth the walk. Pack a towel, waters, snacks, lunch, music for the day etc and enjoy

It is quite a walk, ~30 minutes from seven seas beach, but absolutely worth it! It is so much more beautiful than seven seas, not even comparable! The walk is fun and shaded as well. It is a good place to watch the sunset and lightly crowded with locals

A beautiful hidden gem! It is harder to reach due to not having a car access - you need to take a picturesque path from the Seven Seas Beach - but definitely worth the walk! It is very kid-friendly due to shallow water that barely reaches the waist. It is a great spot for snorkeling because of that. Virtually no waves. The sand is clean. The palms provide shade. No bathrooms or any other public facilities, so keep that in mind. Very important not to confuse it with Playa Colora, which is a closer beach to the Seven Seas. Playa Colora is dangerous and not recommended by locals. Google Maps is very good in showing the detailed path to Playa Escondida, so pay attention to the map. We found the beach magical and will definitely visit again.

Beautiful, secluded beach, about a 15-20 minute hike from Seven Seas Beach. Personally I like Playa Colora much better. Bring drinking water!

On a weekday we almost had the beach by ourselves, very nice beach with views of El Yunque. We parked at seven seas beach, did a little hike of about 20 minutes and had a really good time! No algae, a bit of waves but just perfect.
