A beautiful beach. Probably a only beach in the world where you can see camels walking on a beach. The water is shallow for quite a distance from the shore. You can come here by a car but it must be 4WD. Be careful when you rent a car.

A Public Icon We Find Broome In Western Australia, to be. Not just the beach, the sand, ss well. Brilliant White☆☆☆ I recommend this place to anyone who cares about life. A never to be missed place. It is inside the current (for, it may move) Nuclear Shelter (That mess in Japan).

It's a pretty bog standard beach for WA, which has plenty of wonderful beaches. This one is special due to its history, and having a freshwater shower, but loses a star due to possibly having the Jellyfish of Pain and possibly, crocodiles.

Pretty cool beach. Very flat, so the water is very shallow and the tides change drastically (which seems to be the case elsewhere in Australia too). Very nice sunsets. I heard there are crocodiles in the water so I didn’t actually go in. The markets by the beach are pretty fun too.

Truly iconic , so different from day to night as it constantly changes with the tides. Very popular just before sunset with many tourists sitting on the pure white sand and enjoying a drink or two as the sunset weaves its magic. Not too many places where you can drive out onto the sand to take it all in as well.

My unforgettable destination in Western Australia. Most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The red color were spread over the whole sky in every direction. Sometimes I had to pinch myself to realize that all this is reality. If you're looking for a place, where you don't need a filter, Broome is definitely for you. Cable beach blew me away every time with the vibrant orange & reds especially on sunset. Drive your 4WD on to the sand somewhere, where you can enjoy your me time.

The beach is silky white. You can watch a sunset from your 4x4 on the beach or go to the grass section on the hill. Take a camel ride or just relax anywhere. Great place.

Spectacular spot for all fitness level! Easy walk in and then easy rocks to climb around to get down near the water. Stunning contrast of reds, greens and blues! Rock pools were empty at low tide

Magical, gorgeous coloured rocks so much to explore. Dinosaur footprints. The water is a brilliant colour. So many dragonflies. Plenty of space to park, toilets and undercover picnic area.

One of the best places to watch the sun set. The setting with the rocks, contrast of the water and the amazing colour changes of the sunset are just stunning. You really can't look away! The dinosaur foot prints are an added bonus when the tide is out.

Nice place to go for a picnic, there are tables and seats near the carpark and also toilets ( a bit smelly),the views are stunning. Make sure you have stable shoes as there is a lot of rocks to climb up and down.Wheelchair and disabled could go to end of path. Take water with you as there are no shops for refreshments.

A great little walk and a brilliant view of cable beach in the distance. Some nice rock formations to make for a great picture.

You need to visit this spot at least twice to appreciate and soak in the beauty of this place with contrasting colours of rocks, sea, sky and sunlight playing into the mix. Once at midday and next at sunset. Feel free to spend as much time to use your imagination and capture some of the best pictures Western Australia has to offer at Gantheaume Point. Certainly not a safe place for uncontrolled young children and pets. Picnic tables and site information provided but the condition of Rest Rooms leaves a lot to be desired. Suggest using Rest Rooms at your place of stay or at an appropriate facility immediately before driving to this spot, especially going in a group or with your family.

The views & Sunsets are to die for. Be sure to be there around 4.30. Take ya camera and a picnic. Wine or beer. Remember to take your rubbish. When on the track on you way look up to the light house to see the Huge birds of pray nesting and feeding their young.

Sunset spot - Beautiful. The natural erosion of the massive rocks, provides an amazing platform to view the ocean and sunset. Breathtaking views and history, just don’t fall off while trying to get the best selfie 👍🤓

A big fuss about dinosaur feet at low tide and you can do a tour for $45. It’s basically a rock formation, but the colours are just beautiful!! If you’re a photographer it’s definitely worth the visit

Well worth the drive out from Broome town to spend some time rock climbing around the point. One of the best places to watch the sunset. The setting with the rock formations, contrast of the water and the amazing color changes of the sunset are just stunning. You really can't look away.

Nice little area, with lots of places where you can pull up in your car and have a look around, the rock formations are nice, the road to these little places is red dirt, can be accessed by a 2-wheel drive, and can be large wet sections in the middle of the road after rain

The rock formations in this place are simply stunning, the colours are bright, the sea is really that blue. Such a beautiful coastline. One of my favourite places to go to in Broome and also very accessible. A must if you are heading that way. As others have mentioned the tides in Broome are extreme so be careful. I was fishing and looking at the water some 10m below and by the end of the day it was lapping my feet!

Visited at sunset whilst the sky was hazy - such a beautiful spot, although i would’ve loved to experience during the day when the skies are clear to experience the contrast between orange and blue 🌅

A beautiful seaside park excursion.If you're venturing down the rocky cliffside, wear sturdy shoes as they can get very slippery. Beware of the tides as well, as the authentic dino footprints are best seen at low tide. Thankfully, casts of the prints can be seen right when you exit the entry pathway, surrounded by small boulders. You could spot nesting eagles (?) in the nearby tower.

Good show for the croc feedings and the handler was very knowledgeable about the Crocs. Expensive but they seem to take good care of the animals.

It was awesome!! We saw all kinds of crocs and alligators and even got to hold a baby crocodile!! It was very informative and just fun to see them get fed too!!

Great way to get close to some crocodiles. Great guide took us around the park and we learner about alligators and freshwater crocs ad well. Very busy so get there at 2:00.

We were disappointed we didn't get to hold a baby croc. To avoid being in the same boat make sure you are there when they open @ 2pm. We called and the lady said even if you don't get here until 3pm you'll still be able to do the tour which is about an hour then do everything else. After the tour, we rushed back to the start to hold a baby croc and they'd been put away. They got one out for the kids to pat only cause I mentioned it was my daughters birthday, better than nothing. So feedback is... Swap the baby crocs out so anyone who misses out before the tour gets a go afterthe tour. If that's not possible perhaps tell those who call and/or mention it when people come through the door so they can hold them first then catch up with the tour later. I'd say the majority of people coming want to hold a baby croc. Tour guide was informative about the crocs and many different species to see as well as some birds too

What an amazing place to visit. The tour was very informative from years of real life adventures & rescuing crocs. Absolutely loved the bold Aussie humour from operator Fraser too. Would highly recommend visiting.

Definitely worth the visit. Arrive for the guided tour and then the price is very reasonable as the tour guide was very informative. The prices of things in the gift shop was surprisingly good!

What a fantastic opportunity to get up close to such magnificent and fascinating creatures! I've recently moved to the Pilbara so visiting the park was a really good opportunity to learn all about crocodiles 🐊 Great place to visit. Highly recommend.

Get to cuddle baby crocodiles. Many pens of large crocodiles up and close. Informative talk. Some nice native bird exhibits to round off the visit!

We enjoyed the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park more than one of the "jumping croc" tours in the NT, albeit a different experience, but more diverse. Make sure to be there well before 3 to make the feeding tour, which is the highlight. The prices in the shop for memorabilia and food were also surprisingly cheap! $2.50 for a Dixie cup! Nice not to be gouged for a change. Only possible improvement would be a microphone for when there are large groups, as sometimes it was hard to hear what was being said.

Amazing experience, highly recommended if you're in Broome. Feeding tours are generally done around 3pm and is conducted by very knowledgeable and charismatic keepers. The enclosures is pretty much just a small fence separating beast from human but never in any danger and gives a fantastic photo opportunity. Definitely recommended.

A tour was included with the cost of entry, Owen led my tour and was absolutely fantastic. So much knowledge and very entertaining, great with adults as well as kids. The park an incredible amount of crocodiles and alligators that you can get very close to. 10/10 great experience would recommend to anyone.

Enjoyed being up close and personal with Crocs. Although this park doesn't open till the afternoon, which was the hottest part of the day. Being splashed with croc muck also wasn't much fun. However this place was somehing to do at this time of the year.

Best crocodile facility and tour we have been to across WA, NT and QLD.

Had a good afternoon here. If you have been to the Northern Territory you may be disappointed as this feeding show is good but not great like the ones in the NT. If you are in Broome and looking for an afternoon activity then go to the park. If short of time you can leave off your itinerary

Absolutely useless. The lady hadn’t been out to James Price Pt and was just going by customer reports. Too busy fiddling with her computer. Generic advice. You can do better off the internet, tourist brochures and WikiCamps. Save your time, don’t come here.

Excellent service and guidance from my experience. I contacted Broome Visitor Centre in need of help to organize my upcoming travels to Broome/Kimberly. I have been directed to the right sources and provided with precious information which has helped me greatly with my ongoing planning and arrangement of schedule during my Broome visit. I will contact the team again closer to the time for possible bookings, especially for transport as I have no car and for possible tour or accommodation bookings. Thank you council for providing a dump point. It’s very busy here now it’s peak winter season. But good access for big rigs. Shame about the ‘first welcome’ that visitors get, seeing all those shopping trolleys and piles of rubbish and locals sleeping all over the grass, whilst you read the “respect our beautiful town” info board :) But never had any trouble!

Most visitor centres (we've seen a few in 9 months!) are staffed by experienced and enthusiastic locals. We didn't get that - we got a guy trying to flog tours upon tours and didn't tell us about local attractions. He also said that there were no Broome pamphlets. REALLY? They were on display in front of him! Anyway we got our info and map. Just some honest feedback 😟

Very busy, lots of hustle and bustle. Great selection of tour handouts leaflets. Broome WA is a very busy place with heaps to do. Loved the sunset whale watching tour.

We are going on a cruise, stopping in locations around Australia. I have been looking at visitor centres in these locations to decide what we do on our shore days and not wanting to over pay for and do the scheduled excursions from the cruise company. Out of all the available centres it is Broome that has given us a great guide of what their town has to offer. Many seem to ignore the cruise tourism coming to their location completely and not even mention it on their websites. Yet Broome has a map, guides and all the information I need to prepare. In doing this research I have been shocked at how many smaller towns are not capitalising on having 2000 tourists drop by for 8 hours and leave again. Allowing the cruise company to get a percentage of the money spent as most people are booking shore tours. For other small towns recieving cruise passengers who might read this, as a result of having this ability to plan- it is currently Broome where I will be bringing the most money directly into businesses' of their town because I feel empowered to make decisions about what I want to do there in my one day shore leave.

Staff couldn't have been less interested if they tried. We were not approached at all during our visit. Appreciate its the wet season, but pretty sure Broome still has a lot to offer, just don't go to the visitor centre expecting to find out.

What an awesome Visitor Centre, the best one I've ever gone into. There's so much information around, and the staff are exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We were allowed to bring our dogs inside, and they even brought them out a bowl of water whilst we were there.

Great place to visit prior to doing anything in Broome. Tina was extremely helpful providing us with information about places to visit as well as making booking to fly over the Bungle Bungles, Lake Argyle and the Argyle diamond mine. The souvenirs are well priced also.

Very interesting museum with heaps of details on each object. You can spend 3 hours if you read it all Depend on how much time you have

A great little museum well maintained and stocked with a lot of historical information, displays and photos. The 2 lovely volunteers, Jenene and Janice were very informative and answered my questions. You'll not regret paying a visit to this museum. One of the best museums that I have visited.

This museum is on the outskirts of Broome, inaccessible without a car. It is surrounded by residential houses and bushland. Inside the museum, there are three main buildings; two of them air-conditioned. The museum exhibits are accompanied by paragraphs of texts. It was fascinating to learn about the complex and multi-cultural background of Broome. Unfortunately, there are no guided tours, and some exhibits are dusty and covered in dust. The entrance fee was $12 and opens the museum for the next week. Overall, somewhat decent for a country town.

Broome is a proud town and it's well on display here. And I did like the CWA corner, as often many of this museums are cataloguing the efforts of men.

There is a discount for a senior card. I wasn't particularly in the mood for a museum but the rest of the group was keen. It did provide some very interesting information about the area including the 2nd world war and the mother of pearl fishing. We spent about an hour looking at the exhibits so it turned out to be pretty good. The staff member was great. Good selection of interesting historical books too.2 toilets and some water if you are thirsty.

Perfect for all ages, must visit! I am a fan of history, and I loved Broome Historical Museum. There is so much information from first telephone exchange to pearl diving. You will be needing at least one-three hours to explore the museum.

An excellent insight into the history of Broome. Well worth a visit. Lots of exhibits, helpful stay and very close to the explorer bus stop...plus free cold water. From shell collections to WWII propellers...there is something for everyone

Such an interesting place. I learnt so much and you could see how passionate the historical society are. I hope they continue to receive funds to continue their passion for preserving the past from all its angles both good and bad.

What a great cinema. It was so lovely to sit outside and watch a movie. I couldn't get down into the canvas chairs but there were benches which were higher. Could idea to take a cushion or a pillow with you.

Had a good morning exploring the items in the museum. Diane was at the door and gave great directions. Three buildings show the history of Broome and the pearling industry as well as the bombing of Broome in WW2

This is a most interesting museum. Rather than displaying everything locally historical, they have concentrated on a few themes: the attack during WW!! and the pearl shell industry. The displays are well laid out and it is easy to move around the various display sites. The staff appear to be volunteers and are all very helpful and enthusiastic. The entry price is modest and no doubt will be ploughed back into the further improvement of the facility. We were in Broome for a short stay and in the hour that we visited the museum we were able to gain important insights into the lifestyle of the early pioneers here and indeed those who followed. I am happy to recommend a visit here to any visitor to Broome.

Interesting place to visit, the pearl industry and its dark past was interesting to learn about. As were the dinosaurs that lived here. Cheap to visit and ran by lovely volunteers. Well worth a look.

As a historical museum that seems to be run primarily by volunteers and comprised, in large part, of private donations to the collection, this place generally does a great job to introduce Broome's multicultural past. It is also a class above the sort of museums that one often finds in small towns, which are often so reliant on odd donations. Very well done. That said, the virtual online museum does a much better job than the physical collection in presenting a number of strands of Broome's history. Although the online virtual museum does well in affording a central place to race and First Nations people in Broome's history, and although the physical museum captures Broome's multiculturalism, the physical place granted to First Nations people in the actual museum seemed very underdone. Perhaps this is due to the limitations of what has been donated to the collection. I hope this aspect can be improved, to meet the higher standards of the virtual online collection. Having found the online museum very interesting, and having heard so much about the quality of this musum, I was a little disappointed by the physical collection which still included some of the idiosyncrasies that one sees in the local history museums of other small towns (including, for example, shell collections of donors and other oddities). If the physical museum could achieve the same emphases as the virtual online version, it would be even better. All in all, it was still worth a visit though.

An old fashioned collection of amazing historical artefacts with back stories for all exhibits. Well worth a visit. Also, its nice and cool inside...

Vintage outdoor cinema showing current movies. Standard food and drinks such as popcorn and icecreams, as well as beer and wine. Gorgeous viewing experience. Recommend taking pillows to use with the deckchair seating.

The most romantic place in Broome. It is worth to visit and watch a movie here. I watched PAST LIVES last night, the calm atmosphere and the content of the movie made good synergy. There is a cream for preventing bugs. You can also lay on a bin bag at the movie theatre too😍

It was beautiful to watch the movie (Death on the Nile - which was excellent) while the sun was setting and with additional showcases of lightening. No planes, but the atmosphere and history of the cinema contributed to my experience and I loved it! Food was reasonably priced - the only recommendation I have is to bring a pillow.

Had a great night at Sun Pictures. Sat in the deck chairs in the open air, took some cushions and a pizza and sat back and enjoyed the longest running out door theatre in the world. Bought beers and Prosecco and choc bombs and the processing was very reasonable. Certainly worth a visit to have the odd plane flying over head to land at the airport.

Nice and small place to watch movies. It has a shop to buy popcorn and snacks and drinks for the movie. Pillows and bean bags you can use to watch the movie at the front of the area on the grass. Not too expensive. Definitely would suggest if your in broome

Good experience in a very rustic setting. Grab a cushion as soon as you get in, you'll need it. Definitely get the sense of open air when a ✈️ flies directly overhead.

Had a great time here watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Seats aren't comfortable but it's all part of the experience so you put up with it. There were beanbags for those who wanted to sit on the grass. Candy Bar has a good selection of snacks and drinks for a reasonable price.

We're from the wheatbelt in WA .We stayed in Broome, October 2023. The cinema itself is absolutely breathtakingly stunning... the character and the antiques.. the whole set up takes you back in time. We loved it It was a Friday night the weather was beautiful, we were really looking forward to a Friday night horror movie under the stars. Bought some popcorn and settled in. A younger crowd I assumed were locals mostly all headed in and found a seat. The chatter was loud but who cares movie wasn't on... until it was. 40 minutes we tolerated the loudest group of people that we couldn't even hear the movie over. I very politely stood up and asked everybody to consider other people that were watching the movie... and asked if we could take it down a notch. A few people cheered and 1 young girl told me to F off. We gave it another 10 minutes and then left. Very sad and disappointed in the younger gen. Maybe an usher would help. Broome was beautiful

A trip back in time. Loved the setting and the lovely lady at the counter. I accidentally knocked over my popcorn, she gave us the requested broom and dustpan, and replaced it free of charge. Thank you.

What a great way to watch the movies. Great feel and vibe, of an old building and outdoor seating, with good size screen and great sound. Casual and under the stars. 2 sessions to choose from. Drinks, popcorn and choc bombs available for sale. Heads up - You can bring your takeway - food only - in and eat during the move. We brought our pizzas, which was awesome to do. Thanks for a great night.

What a wonderful piece of history. Well worth popping in to have a look, it's free. We even went and saw a Movie reminded me of the old canvas chairs from my youth. NOTE: bring the insect spray and pillows to sit on.

Pros - New nature based playground - Swings, slides, rope ladders Bike riding track throughout the playground - toilets 100m from playground - BBQ facilities also nearby - Playground partially shaded - Water playground 100m from playground Cons - No gate / fence surrounding park. - Close proximity to steep decline to town beach - Not much to do for kids 0 - 2 years - Sand (needle risk etc)

This area has been beautifully landscaped into a fantastic place to spend time with family or friends. There are several shelters and BBQ facilities plus lots of trees to shelter from the sun. Get there early for a good spot if you are heading down to watch the Staircase to the Moon and the markets are great to attend if they are on.

Nice update to Town Beach with shelters, new jetty, seating embankment and rock wall for viewing Stairway to the Moon in the dry season. This phenomenon only occurs once a lunar cycle with full moon and low tide in Roebuck Bay. The following nights are still pretty good. The locals normally have special markets with food trucks and local crafts for the event.

It's a beautiful place to visit. Makes me happy to see lots of Aboriginal people catching up there. Great place for fishing. There are lots of shore birds and beautiful beaches and scenery. It's a great place for photography and birding!! I love going there!!

Shinju Matsuri festival is on and the park near the beach at night has numerous food vans, live music and stalls selling clothing, pearl jewelry, art, etc and local beers and wines. During the day beautiful beach with torquise water, shady trees, palms and a cafe overlooking it.

Great location, magnificent beach and some great fishing to be had. Camp was clean and quite. Has small BBQ areas but okay. Camp kitchen is limited in equipment. No Ivens just a microwave and two fridge freezers in our block. There is a 9 kilometre unsealed road off the highway. The camp says all okay but we found it really rutty, so much so a panel on our van actually moved slightly. But a great stay.

Pretty spot for viewing Staircase to the Moon and the night markets. Council have spent lots of money to beautify the area and the jetty is a great spot for fishing as well.

What a great place. The playground especially as it caters for all ages. Very shady. The Seafarers cemetery was interesting & so were the statues about what happened in Broome in the second World War.

Lovely precinct, great playground for the kids, bbq's and shaded seating, well kept gardens and grassed areas, popular place for early morning exercise and dog walking. Excellent spot to watch the Staircase to the Moon.

The history of Broome here was very interesting and brought to life with the Nine Lives, Nine Zeros artwork personalising the bombing of Darwin. There are also signs telling people not to clean their fish because of crocodiles but that didn’t seem to deter some people!

Very moving experience visiting the Japanese cemetery. Sad to think that most of the dead were young men. This unique place helps to tell the story of multicultural Broome. There is also a Chinese cemetery close by but our tour didn't include it.

Great for a visit. Access to the jetty is a little confusing but view of the sea and over the coast is worth the visit. Fishing is also reported to be good.

It’s at the Port Jetty there we sported the dinosaurs 🦕 🦶 foot print. The Port Jetty is so calming and relaxing. Saw a few people doing different activities. Some walking their dogs, some fishing, some boating 🛶. Some collecting seashells, some just walking like us enjoying the scenery.

Not a bad spot for a wander around or a fish. Note that you can't walk al the way down to the end as part of the walkway is removed. The grassed area in front of the port office is not a bad spot to snap a photo and there's a small beach area on the right as you head towards the jetty.

Interesting. Water was clear enough to see the Marine life. We saw fish, 3 sharks, 4 Gropers and a number of people successfully catching fish

Great spot for fishing, staircase to the moon and just a stroll, be sure to visit at both a high and a low tide, dramatic differences.

Lovely place to walk around and the surrounding area. Drive over the hill to the beach and great fish and chips at the Broom fishing club.

I love a good bird park. This isn't a good bird park. The bird cages are all the same size for birds big and small. There is a small section for farm animals, enclosures tiny for their size and paddocks also depressingly small. $20 for adults and we found ourselves walking round in 30mins. Very disappointing and depressing for the conditions of the animals.

Kids and I had a great time so many birds and even a farm animal section. Spent a few hours there great friendly staff. Just remember insect repellent as the mozzies are extremely friendly!

Roosters have no shade and clean water. I can't sleep thinking about them suffering in the heat. They all came to the fence begging for us to do something. I didn't get a clear photo but their cage is next to the cassowary.

Various Australian parrot on display, some are friendly and say hello when you pass by. Plus other variety of birds from other places. There are also friendly animal farm on display.

We enjoyed our time at the market. There are lots of stalls and good variety. And on a hot day there are a number of vendors selling very tasty refreshing smoothies. We also enjoyed the live music.

What's not to love about local markets? They showcase the community spirit, and a keen interest in supporting local Business and budding entrepreneurs. And if you're in Broome, be sure to set aside your Saturday morning to check out these absolute gems. With local artworks, handmade jewellery and clothing and plenty of food and drinks available, get on down, check out the stalls and have a chat with a local or two.

the markets are open on a saturday during summer. definitely recommend getting in early during the hot months as there's not a lot of shade. wasn't as many stalls as I was expecting but there's some nice stalls selling jewellery, plants, clothing, food and more. give yourself at least half an hour to check it all out.

Pearls and hats, "what more could any woman ask for?" A good clothing choice. Nice trees in the vicinity, outside along Frederick? Street, and on the Courthouse grounds. A splendid building I must say!

Awesome markets , great mix of stalls selling all sorts of products and some locally made produce. Lots of pearl jewellery at various prices and quality. Great varied food stalls and lots of live music and buskers throughout. Plenty of shade from the sun and cool drinks. Parking is easy on all sides of the market grounds. Must visit when in Broome.

Lucky to have just so happened to drive past and find this market! Hugely recommend the mango smoothies, and fresh donuts. Some yummy coffee and nice handmade soaps available too. We were lucky to have a chat with a local who was carving a Boab nut, which we purchased off him.

Good for a market experience. Predictable stalls and food. But worth a visit. Took my mum who was visiting.

A great showcase of local businesses. Clothing, jewellery, producers and more. There is plenty of food on offer. We tried Jazzy’s Kebabs and the local mango smoothie stand. Both highly recommend.

Truly an amazing collection of archival material, beautifully presented, about the history of the Sisters in the north west in Beagle Bay, Broome and Derby. We did both the tour and saw the movie and will be returning again to enjoy the hospitality and the peaceful ambiance of the gardens. Many thanks to all the staff and volunteers who work there who shared the SSJG story in such an engaging way. We recommend tat this be on the itinerary of anyone visiting Broome.

I was lucky to go on a guided tour of the heritage centre during the Shinju Matsuri festival. The one hour tour was interesting, entertaining and enlightening. It was a great introduction to the unique social and cultural history of Broome and the Sisters' key role in it. A special thanks to Sarah and Helen for the great tour delivery. Its a shame this tour is only available for two weeks of the year!

This place is wonderful! There are many interactive sites available to either find people or track down town events and social history. I volunteer there once a week and get to meet some amazing people who are more than happy to share their local knowledge and or history. Don't expect to race through in 30 minutes because once you get started you can be led up many garden paths depending on your interests. Your can find out all about Cyclone Tracey, or the leprosarium and many other interesting facts. Who were the wonderful nuns who put up with so much discomfort to treat and teach the local people? Go in and find out for yourselves.

Very interesting display. It is well worth a visit. The nuns worked tirelessly for the aboriginal communities.

Very well preserved building and photographic history of the Nuns arrival assistance by and contribution to the community.Great archival movie clips gives a person a good understanding & appreciation of that era in Broome & The Kimberlies.

Google fix your directions to Broome Bird Observatory!!! (Follow website directions). Dirt road. Nice quiet low key eco-friendly place to observe and learn about birds. Staff are knowledgeable, visitors centre had some interesting info and activities for the kids. Bring binoculars to be able to see the shorebirds. We enjoyed watching the birds in the birdbath while having lunch in the shadehouse.

Was so amazing to spend 3 nights at the Bird Observatory in a double room. All the amenities clean to use. Kitchen in the Shadehouse perfect. I had all my yummy food there stored safely in the fridges provided, and cooked up fresh healthy meals for myself each night. Did 2 bird tours was breath taking. Thanks for the pick up and drop off guys. I take my hat off to Ben & Olivia Patrick, Max, & Caroline you do a fabulous job. I will share my photos & experience with my family friends & the locals. Everyone should visit this world renowned wonder and the new Observatory. All the very best for the future.

Such a beautiful place. So peaceful. Right on the beach and also in the bush. Very clean. Comfy bed. Lovely staff. Will return. Lots of wildlife. 35 mins drive from broome, maps said it was 15…. But didn’t end up bothering me because it was such a gorgeous place. Green tree frogs in one of the bathrooms at night, was my highlight. 😍

Great kitchen best I have seen. Spotless. Had breakfast watching walabys through the window. Great showers. Great beach walks

Accommodation is basic but so right for this place. Great camp kitchen. Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Fantastic location and ability to see some fabulous birds. I saw 25 new birds for me. Highly recommend for anyone even vaguely interested in birds, mangroves, Roebuck Bay. Just amazing.

Awesome little spot to visit. Staff were friendly and informative. Options to go on guided tours or to hang out and do your own walks. Added a few new birds to my list. Definitely a must do if you like birds and nature based activities.

Only managed to stay a night due to needing to accommodate in town but service was magnificent. Helped and attended with all of my needs during my stay.

Loved the red sandy unsealed road to the Observatory. You can use campground facilities like flush toilets and shade house ( Camp kitchen). Information Center was air-conditioning and entrance fee is payable but didn't went due to time shortage. Went for 800m beach access walk and there is another 2km walk. Best to go early morning or late afternoon for bird watching.

More than excellent birding tours and good instyle accommodation. Great camphosts. We loved our tours: superb guides, very swift on the birding, delivering wish-birds like there is no tomorrow. Peopleskills on same level as birdingskills: a rare combination 😉. Good accent on shore birds. Daily communal birdlog @ 6.30 pm a highlight of the day. We stayed at the campsite, bushcamp style, Absolutely loved the campkitchen which doubled as a bird hide. Highly recommended, don’t forget to book the tours ( and accom ) upfront. Mind you, it’s a bird observatory, not a five star cable beach resort alternative, so dont whine about a frog in the shower.

Amazing wild corner of Broome, so full of bird life and other creatures. So peaceful as well, the observatory has camp sites in the middle of the bush that'll make you feel very connected with nature. We took the Mangroves Birdwatching Tour and was great! Olivia our guide was very knowledgeable and brought us through an amazing adventure looking for different bird species. The area is packed with shorebirds, some birds of prey and bush birds, beautiful natural richness. Definitely recommend paying a visit if you're a nature lover.

Sorry did not like this place at all. Although the room was clean it still smelt old. Facilities except for camp kitchen very outdated. Had a frog in the shower. I love camping and outdoors but the pictures are false. Seen 1 bird and the mosquitoes are unforgiving. One positive is the beach which is full of shells which I loved. Not really a swimming beach because it is like quick sand.

July 2021 Stayed overnight in camping area. Drove in with my 2wd campervan. No problems … went slowly and carefully and all was good for 9km of dirt and corrugations. Nice, peaceful- just what a needed. Enjoyed the peace and got some happy snaps!

A wonderful place to visit or stay if bird watching and nature is your thing. Showers, kitchen, flush loos. 10 smallish camp sites suitable for camper trailers, or similar, or small motorhomes. Rooms available. Lots of tours and a daily bird call count of species seen and heard within a 70km radius. Note that the road to take is Crab Creek Rd at the Blue sign on the Broome Rd not Google's suggestion which is a closed road.

Most amazing close encounter with a pair of black shouldered kites at the covered hide. They came in to use the floor drinking space as a personal bird bath! All of this watched by a wild wallaby. Lots of birds around in the trees and one majestic pelican out at sea!

In early August my husband and I visited the Broome Bird Observatory - a long-awaited visit that was worth every moment of the wait. At the planning stage Nyil was very proficient and helpful with every email detailing suggestions about what to do (and of course with friendly understanding for necessary postponement from one year to the next). With all arranged, all we needed to do was look forward to the experience. Without a hire vehicle we relied on transfers that we booked ahead of time - this certainly made things convenient for us. We stayed 3 nights in the 'chalet' - a comfortable and well-equipped 2 bedroom cabin right in the centre of all the action - though quiet and serene too. We participated in 2 tours - shorebirds and Yellow Chat Twitch - both brilliant. In fact, Ben's introduction before setting off for our shorebirds tour was a superb beginning to a fantastic morning. A result of that tour was a rather large 'tax' bill at the end of the day... to better understand this you need to visit! A rather fun component during the bird log session held each night. Olivia knew exactly where to take us to find the Yellow Chats - they were flitting about everywhere and we are super grateful that she allowed us plenty of time to observe and photograph them. As photographers on a limited duration visit, we enjoyed every moment and filled any spare time we had (when not on a tour) exploring the shores of Roebuck Bay - on the sand and from the lookout. At other times gathering with others in the shade house or simply sitting watching the birds flit about our cabin. A big thank you to Ben and Olivia and the volunteers on site at the time (apologies for not remembering their names). They each had a wonderful energy and enthusiasm for what they do and what the observatory stands for. We certainly hope to return sooner rather than later.

This is a beautiful place to camp with lovely bush sites and good facilities. It is not for everyone - mobile reception is not available at the sites and there is no smoking. If you like to keep nature at arms length, this is not the place for you. If you are happy to coexist and shower with lots of cute little green frogs and switch off to enjoy your surrounds, this is the perfect spot to do it!

Amazing beach especially if you wanna be alone . BUT, !SOS! THEY BREAK INTO CARS !!! I only went once (unfortunately). I left my car in the parking spot and I went down to the beach. When I came back to the car after my dive it was open and a lot of things were missing. The police they told me that it is a classic thief spot! I wish there was a sign or more comments about these incidents, so people could know!! Be aware !!!
