Definitely an experience to add to your bucketlist whilst in Tasmania. Personally- the actual museum was not overly impressive. The artwork was mediocre and overall 2 hours is more than ample time to experience the museum + return ferry ride. Getting there: we went by ferry which was a joyful and picturesque ride (we went standard - not the Posh Pit and paid $25 return). You can buy your tickets online which I recommend in the peak season (we visited in December) as the ques will have you waiting over 20 minutes. Trip is ~25minutes each way and you need to select your departure and return time. This is important as once on the island changing your return ticket time is very tricky when busy. There is a box office on the island to change your return time if needed. Museum: tickets were $35 adult (All up, a $60 day trip with the ferry). We actually preferred the outdoor artwork, lookout points and entertainment/food/drinks on the hill which you can enjoy without am entry ticket to the museum. There is not a lot of shade, so pack your hat and sunscreen. Definitely would return but as a lunch or evening trip to enjoy drinks and food and entertainment on the hill (and bypass the museum).

Weirdest museum I have ever visited. But, I love it. Free admission for Tasmanians. If you appreciate art, you can easily spend one full day here. If you don't appreciate contemporary art, don't waste your time here.

The building is great designed and the space function of the building is placed in an interesting way. Makes it possible to walk around and see the museum thoroughly But the exhibit itself is strange. and shocked the people who visited the exhibition too This makes it impossible to access the main idea that you want to convey. Like focusing on the extreme Not suitable for bringing young children to attend the event.

Mona is an impressive venue, and my visit from 10 am to 3 pm allowed me to explore its vast collection. The sheer magnitude of exhibits can be overwhelming, so I recommend starting at the bottom and taking a break for lunch before tackling the remaining floors. Be prepared to dedicate the whole day to fully appreciate everything Mona has to offer.

Truly world class experience... It's not just the artworks but the experience. From the giant snake mural by Sidney Nolan that gets more detailed as you explore closer to the immersive visit to a sarcophagus in a darkened water filled room there's a surprise around every corner. Make sure you allocate several hours. There's a bar inside and often music. Catch the ferry across for an even more enjoyable experience

Mona was fantastic. I took the ferry from the Brooke Street Pier. The ferry entry was easy to find and there were plenty of staff to help. I paid for the Posh Pit which was a lovely experience. The seated area is at the front of the boat with a drink and canapes included in the price. It made the trip really special. Mona itself was delightful. The location is stunning with beautiful sandstone everywhere. The staff were really nice and helpful - and easy to find. The art was set up perfectly - it was a real sensory experience. The grassed restaurant area was a little hard to find and the signage is a bit lacking. The food was great and there was live music to listen to which was really great. There's a lot of walking to see everything but there is an accessibility entrance for prams and people who can't make it up the stairs. The shop was lovely but a bit pricey.

Best museum! Very interesting and engaging exhibits. We went on a public holiday, so it was very busy, however staff were courteous and wait times were minimal. Delicious food was also available in the garden at a reasonable price with good, live entertainment. Car parking was also very close and easy. Would definitely come again!

The building and grounds are amazing and that's just the start. This museum is well worth a visit in Hobart, and I can see why it has its popular reputation. The ferry ride is well worth it too, the river is stunning. Plan for at least 3 hours, if not more to sit, eat a meal and enjoy the live music.

I loved MONA so much. Weirdest pieces of art, but honestly so riveting and highly relevant to our day and age. The location itself is beautiful, it's situated right next to the water. The architecture of the museum alone is worth paying a visit to see. I particularly liked the MONA app - it has some quality information about the art pieces and it specifically shows you what exhibits you are standing near so that you can read up on them. Great way to give prominence to the artists and their interpretation. The MONA cafe had the most expensive but delicious cheese toasty I've had in my life - can't stop thinking about it. All in all, very thought-provoking and whether or not you are able to appreciate the art, you will definitely admire the architecture and scenery. Take your sense of humour and an open mind, and this will make for a great experience.

This is the greatest modern art museum in the world, bar none. Beautifully set underground with natural rock formations all around you. Unlike most museums, art work is not separated by era, you will see ancient tablets next to digital art. This continuity really inspires and connects like no other collection I’ve seen. The design of the space is also impeccable and human centered. Comfortable chairs and couches all around that seem like they could be part of an exhibit, but purposefully set aside for you relaxation and enjoyment. Tactfully placed mirrors behind the works and use of dim lighting makes it clear that the visitors are themselves part of the art. That being said, the museum is not pretentious in the slightest; quite the contrary, their sarcastic and self deprecating style makes the space more inclusive and is quite endearing and entertaining. This reflects in the up/down rating system and digital comments people leave on each art piece. Honestly hard for me to find fault in this place; the outside is not neglected, and the cocktail bar within the museum would be worth a visit as a stand-alone bar. Can’t wait to return. I highly recommend taking the museum’s ferry from Hobart too, this is absolutely part of the experience. Definitely plan at least a half day.

This place was described to me as amazing and fantastic as well as terrible. Since I’m not likely to get back to Tasmania any time soon, I opted to check it out. The Story behind the creation of the museum holds as much interest as the place itself. The art. Installations were not appealing to me, with the exception of the light prisms room (outside the area that requires a ticket) and the Richard Wilson’s piece that is constructed of used sump oil and steel. I struggled to appreciate the large wall of dead flies and resin as art. Watching the expressions of visitors was more interesting. I understand from locals that the installations change regularly. The locals do not pay an entry fee so it is easy to get value for a visit. For me, the hype far overshadowed the value. The art was not to my liking.

I took the ferry from Hobart, about a 30 minute trip there. Alcohol and food served on board. There is a VIP option offered with service to the seat and front view of the trip. What an awesome experience at the gallery, the outside garden is nice to sit and chill in also. Very cool experience. We left it later in the day but I think lunch time would be better to get it all in.

I came here with my mother during our hobart trip. It was an experience! There are some artworks that reference sexual things and mild gore, but there is adult content warnings around so you can avoid those if you plan on bringing children. It is advertised as having old and new art, but to be honest, it is not much old art like my mother was hoping. But the modern art was very expressive! I really enjoyed looking at the different mediums - so much creativity! However, I do wish there was an artist’s statement that you could read. Everyone was on their phones using the app, which didn’t describe much of the artworks in depth. Food is not very great. There is a bar and pizza place inside, bur it is very dark in there. The outside area was super fun and had amazing views of the mountains, though! Overall - you could still bring your children here, just make sure to avoid adult content if you don’t want your child seeing that. This museum is not as interactive as others, and could be overwhelming for those with sensory issues. It was an interesting experience! I had never experienced anything like this before, but I do wish there was more description to the art itself. I would come again ☺️

Best way to spend a day or two. They are very disability friendly. My blind husband was given a personal tour and allowed to feel certain pieces of art. It was fantastic

Possibly the largest museum I've ever been too. Spent a total of 4hrs there. Went we friends and after discussing seemed we had each missed different parts. Very interesting concept and collection. The tunnels that connect different sections are also very cool.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve only just managed to visit this gallery, after decades of desperately wanting to! This museum is GREAT! Literally the best gallery in the world that I’ve been to, including those in Firenze, Italy. MONA is an entire artistic experience… from the moment you enter, it’s like being transported inside a Salvador Dali painting. The focus on surrealism really did things for me. No boredom where: many of the installations are interactive, or landscapes that you walk through. Every kid I saw in the place loved it as much as the adults. In fact, everyone should ensure that their kids get to spend at least one whole day exploring MONA. My only criticism is that some of the staff were incredibly rude, which was a pity when the art was so enjoyable and their whole job was to interact with the public and be helpful and friendly! But even those bad apples couldn’t ruin the crumble. Visit this place. It will blow your mind!

An absolutely stunning experience for the senses is perhaps the only proper way to describe my experience here. The art, the sounds, the magic they create with light (or darkness) and spider webs, amongst many other things is just unbelievable. I would recommend a minimum of 3 hours to explore this place, although I reckon we could've spent 5 hours here easily! The staff were very knowledgeable and polite as well so overall a superb experience.

Interesting artworks and a beautiful building. However there are no signs/information displayed next to artworks - you have to use your phone and download an app, which I don’t think suits all age groups. Nice cafe inside. Car parking is very bad for such a popular attraction. 1-2 hours was plenty of time for us.

Due to time restrictions we couldn't enjoy the full experience and were restricted to visiting the grounds for a stroll and a coffee. It is a wonderful place to walk through and enjoy the art installations. Very hands on and a hive of activity for adults and children.

Well I did not stay in the hotel for it being private museum. It was pretty impressive when you take it all in. I highly recommend you take your time. It was a very interesting experience but in a very positive way. The service was amazing. The employees were very helpful. I will come back.

Definitely something different! This museum is architecturally amazing, one of the finest in the world. If you're trying to do it on the cheap, you can honestly just walk around outside and get some of the best bits! Inside, many of the artworks are stunning and outside of the box. However, our family found it frustrating that you need to use the app to discover any information about the art. As you can imagine, with kids, walking to to art, funding it on a device and huddling around to all read it isn't the most enjoyable. The outside area is delightful. Playground and cafe with fantastic views. 🎟️ Entry is free for Tasmanians, $35 for everyone else. Free lockers. ⛴️ The Mona ferry adds to the experience! Sit on a sheep!

What an absolute MUST do experience. The museum itself was phenomenal. So much to see. From ancient artefacts to modern adult only content to the spectacular architecture it’s a truly a place we will go back to many times. We did the wine tasting and the staff were so informative and the wine was fabulous. Don’t miss the library. They had recording equipment used to record almost all of the Beatles albums, Pink Floyd’s dark side of the moon and many more. The staff there were also incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved this experience. Highlight of the year for me.

WOW, what an interesting place to visit. Some really amazing exhibits. We only visited for the day to check out the museum, and it was well worth it. I can certainly see why some view it as very controversial and confronting. It's great to see something different like this.

If you are visiting Tassie, it’s a must to visit MONA! Outdoors is gorgeous and indoors is just so much fun and so unique. It’s highly recommended to take the ferry as that is an experience itself. There is so much to see and experience at MONA so prepare to spend a full day here. The food at Faro was absolutely amazing and they had some unique entertainment happening while you dine! Super interesting! Also make sure to download the app and book some of the experiences in advance on the day via the O app.

Art is amazing. Not everything will appeal to everyone, but the range and quality on display is phenomenal. The setting and grounds are spectacular and the staff were friendly and helpful. Spent over 3 hours enjoying MONA.

Absolutely loved Mona. Great art centre with so many different types. Gardens are great for sitting and listening to live music. The cafe we ate at was superb. I so loved the ladies only lounge also. This is one art Centre you should put on your todo list. Highly recommend. 👏👏

Favourite art gallery / museum of all time, and one of the better hotels. Groundbreaking in Australia for making art accessible yet very much in your face. We've visited the museum multiple times with our kids. While there have been a few things over the years that weren't for young children, they have always been avoidable. The ones that pushed boundaries resulted in learning opportunities for the kids. As a place to stay overnight without children, the accommodation on site was also excellent -- expensive but worth it -- and the dining options were fantastic.

I just got back from MONA in Tasmania, and let me tell you, it's an experience unlike any other museum I've been to. It's like stepping into a whole other world, quite literally – most of the exhibits are displayed in this underground labyrinth, with no natural light and quirky signs everywhere. I have to admit, it was a bit disorienting at first. I downloaded their app like they suggested, which helped me navigate the darkness and find interesting pieces, but it definitely added to the "choose your own adventure" feel of the place. The art itself? Well, it's definitely not for the faint of heart. There's a mix of ancient artifacts, modern masterpieces, and some truly bizarre stuff that will leave you scratching your head. But that's kind of the point, I think. It's meant to challenge you, make you think, and maybe even offend you a bit. Overall, I had a blast at MONA. It's not your typical museum experience, and that's what makes it so memorable. If you're looking for something different, something that will stay with you long after you leave, then I highly recommend checking it out. Just be prepared for a wild ride!

An amazing experience. Spent 2 days exploring Mona. We stayed overnight in a Pavilion, had an incredible experience at Faro for dinner and the staff were 5 star everywhere we went. Take the ferry and upgrade to the Posh Pit - well worth it!

Definitely a must visit in Hobart. The museum/gallery is a quite amazing space with exhibits that test your sensory perception. Could have wandered around taking it all in for hours longer. Parts of it not really suitable for kids but there are plenty of warning signs around the place. Clearly a very popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Great selection of food and drink from the cafe and outside live jazz was pleasant and relaxing.

Had a great time at the museum. The museum isn’t a typical one that you could expect, and that’s why it’s interesting and fun to us. We could understand it might not be suitable for children or older generations. But we couldn’t get why it’s controversial, in our point of view it’s very artistic and had a great range of collection of arts. The environment surrounding the museum is also great, could easily spend a day here.

Definitely creative and cheeky. A project of passion, with a lot of thought in to the space and challenging expectations, you'll definitely have feelings about what's exhibited. I loved the architecture and the curation. The app is a great addition to the MONA experience. Food options are decent, although the general outside options did appear to wind up early. The museum can be difficult to navigate, work out where you've been, where you haven't. For those who don't pay to get in, that might be less bothersome. For the rest of us it'd be nice to have a clearer idea, especially if you want to come up for air to the top and go back in. It's also mostly underground. Won't bother most, but worth mentioning. Splurge, take the ferry, go standard, because sitting on a sheep in cattle class is way more of an experience.

Easy to get to by car. Very interesting buildings, even without the art. The art gallery itself is an amazing experience, located about 15 to 25 meters below ground. There is plenty to see and is very cool compared to the temperature above ground. On the B3 level, you will find the Void bar where you can order food and drinks. Water is complimentary. Be sure to download the O app to get an interactive map. You will also need to queue for some of the exhibits, which you can also do via the app. This was a great day out.

I was disappointed. The ferry ride was great. It is not value for money, spent 132 for entry for two, and 56 for the ferry. The river was beautiful even though the weather wasn't. We loved Hobart, regrettably not the Mona.

All of my friends have been here recommended MONA and now I would recommend you too! This is very unique, weird and beautiful museum. I was there for more than two hours and couldn’t get enough of it. I went there by ferry and I’d recommend it too as you can also enjoy the ferry itself and the view.

Hey peps, this is the winery cellar door site NOT MONA. Yes it is located above MONA but this site is for reviews about the cellar door NOT MONA. Great food on offer, however the Thai fish salad that sounded delish was sold out at 2:30pm on a Thursday. The hommus plate was very tasty and had GF bread option (Hooray!) Moorilla wine was very nice, but served in plastic - Yuck! (just wrong). Get some glassware.

Went there for breakfast today Food - Good Ambiance - Good Coffee - Good Customer service and vibe from staff - poor Place was almost empty and there were probably 5 to 6 staff and everyone was occupied keeping each other entertained instead of greeting customers. We walked in while employees were just at some tables and chitchatting - no one said hi or where to sit etc. it felt like they were doing us a favour by letting us walk in and order. That’s just how we felt, doesn’t necessarily mean that was their intention. It will be nice if staff pay a little more attention to customers than to each other.

Nestled at a corner of MONA, this place has a very lovely, chill vibe. Add to that the fact that it’s only steps away from its very own vineyard (~2 hectares), and the view is lovely, that makes for an even more incredible experience. The icing on the cake, is that we had amazing service from Winnie, who taught us lots of little nuggets, both about the wines from Moorilla, but also from its sister winery, Domaine A. She was very affable and hospitable, and made us feel right at home. Their wine tasting is an experience that cannot be missed if you happen to be at MONA!

A visit to Mona in Hobart Tassie was not as confronting as I thought. But I do understand the hype, and what makes it different and interesting at the same time. Well that’s a different review…. Let’s talk about the Moorilla Wine Bar at the end of our tour. The Burrito was very tasty, good size which can also feed for 2 as a light snack. Our snack was accompanied with white wine and Aperol Spritz. Friendly service, entertainment with live music and then some when seated outside, clean and overall a really good atmosphere. It was quite a windy weekend but I can say the visit did not disappoint.

Moorilla Wine Bar is a nice option for lunch when visiting Mona. Located outside near the lawn with indoor & outdoor seating.

Have a glass of Tasmanian wine paired with oysters or a toastie, sit back, relax. A little price-y but worth it. Celebrate your unique experience at MONA.

Sep 2023. Stopped by for a late Saturday lunch with the partner prior to proceeding into the MONA museum. We ordered glasses of wine and shared the Hummus Plate, which was delicious and textural. Unfortunately, pita bread was a little oily. Casual ambience with indoor and outdoor seating available. Order and pay at the counter. Efficient and friendly service. Bit on pricy end but not outrageous. Overall, a decent lunch experience within MONA.

Atmosphere is the only thing good about this place . The service is shocking , poured myself a glass of water and a green smudge appeared in it. After I told the female waiter she just replied “get it yourself”. I’ve been in hospitality 7 years of my life and I would never recommend this place . The food was very mild & overpriced, we ordered the fish crisp & dip and the chips were freezing cold , tasteless and stale.

If all your stars line up, you may be lucky enough to be hosted by the more than lovely Maddy. It happened to us. As we were chatting and travelled around the world we got to taste one sparkling, two whites and two reds. Very unique wines with very unique notes. Definitely worth a visit. Definitely worth an add-on to a museum visit. XO

We had an awesome experience at the Moorilla Winery Cellar Door with Josh. He was so lovely and knowledgeable, and he made us feel super spesh! Big thanks to him.

We had a great wine tasting at the Cellar Door here. Jesse was a very engaging, friendly and funny host. He shared some great stories and info with us and we felt very taken care of. The wines themselves were also very good. We recommend the Cloth White and Chardonnay (unwooded), which does not taste like a traditional Chardonnay at all. Great views as well. We didn't go to the restaurant because the food truck situation outside was so good. Overall a really excellent experience. We'd take friends for sure if we came back to Hobart!

Well. Where do you start? Great ferry ride over. The art museum is just that. Don't be offended by it, it's different and eye opening! Then you have the grounds, the iron work, the steel that abounds. The winery and the restaurant! Oh. Don't forget the staff. Absolutely brilliant..The musicians are next level and know their craft. They are musicians! Another experience and worth every cent. Do yourself a favour and come to Mona. You will not be disappointed!

Claremont house was absolutely fabulous. An amazing experience, Joel could not have been more hospitable, it is a home of many stories . We take out hats off to Joel for the work he has put into this beautiful to keep its memories alive . I would highly recommend this place . All monies that are received in this home are put into the up keep of this amazing 1830's Heritage home. I will definitely be back . It's comfortable , beds are comfortable, clean, big . Just can't say anymore . I give it 10 stars here

Beautiful house with amazing history detailed with an incredibly welcoming host - Joel, who is very dedicated to preserving the past in this home. Bed was comfortable, spa was amazing, large room (we're stayed in the Darling room with the gorgeous chandelier). Unexpected highlights include Manny the cat and the chickens! The horse, although, was a bit bitey. However, as expected for a historical home, it was inevitably a bit run down - cracks in ceiling, which was not a negative for us. The negatives were the rain shower, which was not great for adjusting the water temperature, and a teaspoon was a bit sticky, with some old tea residue. Still an amazing stay which I recommend if you love historical buildings, riddled with culture.

Beautiful, elegant old mansion being lovingly restored. Sitting on the balcony at the beginning and end of each day overlooking the chickens, turkeys and gardens then out to the river was a highlight of each day. The chickens provide the bright yolked eggs used in the great breakfast each morning. Joel is helpful and friendly and I enjoyed my conversation with him. I had a room with a shared bathroom that I only had to share with one other room. The room was beautiful with views in 2 directions, the bed was comfortable and there was a smart tv. Joel recommended both the local Japanese and Vietnamese. I enjoyed both and being out of the city they were considerably cheaper. For anyone looking for a place to stay that has character and charm I highly recommend Claremont House.

My husband and I stayed at Claremont house on the last 2 days of our trip in Tasmania. It was a wonderful place for a relaxing retreat. Joel has put in so much hard work into refurbishing such an old building and turning it into an acomodation with modern amenities yet keeping the old world charm alive. We got a bit mixed in booking our room and missed out on the spa room. However we were vere happy with the room we got. Very comfortable and pretty. Loved the chandeliers and antique furniture. Joel was kind enough to let us look at the other rooms. They were so beautiful. Unfortunately due to Covid the restaurant is closed. Hope it can start back soon and we can visit🙂 also the breakfast was very nice and homely. We had a great time. Very close to restaurants and MONA!

Quite simply an absolute must stay! The property is a great example of thoughtful utilisation of an amazing heritage building, allowing access to an experience otherwise inaccessible. The Tower Room is the best family hotel room I've had the pleasure of staying in anywhere around the globe!

I loved staying at Claremont House. The host and the owner, Chris and Joel, were welcoming and accommodating. Because of giving Joel short notice on my second week (after walking out of other accommodation), I had to change rooms a few times which was good as I got to try several rooms, both with bathrooms or some sharing bathrooms (sounds not ideal, but only shared with few rooms so no issues there). They were all beautifully presented, quiet, comfortable beds, and great showers with products supplied. The house and grounds were beautiful and pleasant to just wander around, look at things, or just sit and enjoy the peace. Woolies restaurants are a two minute walk away. Mona a two minute drive or pleasant walk through parks. Breakfasts of bacon and eggs were delicious with the flock of friendly hens supplying the latter. I wouldn't stay anywhere else next time I come to Hobart. Perfect as a base while touring the area or a romantic getaway. I imagine when the white roses are out you could have the perfect wedding here, including the reception in the elegant dining rooms. Very good value too, especially in comparison to another place I stayed nearby which was noisy and cramped and not worth the money when for literally a few dollars more, I moved back to Claremont House. I loved every minute there. Chris.

The room that we book is so amazing .The house owner is intimate, she warm up the room before we came.The building is very historic and the female homeowner gave a brief introduction after we registered. And there is a room dedicated to show its history. Their English breakfast is perfect and delicious, and the eggs they use are raised by themselves.

They have icecream that tastes exactly like a flower (lavender), I'm sold! A family fave for after school treat!! 🙌🙌🙌💯

Best ice cream shop in the area! With average prices for great ice cream, would definitely be worth a visit! All of the flavours taste genuine, and the extra effort they put into each ice cream makes each feel special. It would be nice to have more flavour available in the litre tubs e.g. Jaffa, the availability of the ice creams on demand is good enough. Definitely the best place to get your Valhalla ice cream from!

Perfect pitstop for refreshingly delicious ice-cream after mountain biking from The Springs down the North - South track! Great energy boost for the ride home :P

Bought the raspberries and cream at the local IGA, it’s not cheap. It’s a very average vanilla icecream with a small amount of raspberry flavouring on the outside. I don’t normally provide reviews. Maybe they have different quality products in the shops. The packaging looks great but the contents not what they say it is. Buy peters and raspberry flavouring and it’s better that this priduct. I went to Richmond next day and bought a far better product.

A heap of fun for the family. Great outdoors(and outdoors undercover) entertainment, beautifully landscaped and pretty well maintained. Some wear and tear is beginning to show Worth a couple of hours not too badly priced either. Snack bar and games arcade means there is something for everyone.

Enjoyed a fun 8th birthday party. The centre fully caters for the kids, includes a round of mini golf, and even organises a game of pass the parcel and party bags. Mini golf is great for all ages. Good value. Would recommend for kids birthday parties.

It was a great outing with the kids, 5yo not really interested in the golf side, but the free play area (jumping castle and play gym) was a highlight for her and the others enjoyed the arcade after the mini golf. We played the indoor course, fun for all and I would say quite challenging if you were really competitive and playing properly. There are some stairs to take you onto the different levels.Was sad to see we were the only ones enjoying this business, considering it would be activity, people could enjoy in these times. Clean and COVID safe, sanitizer etc.

This has been here for many years now. It's still in good condition and has two courses. The indoor course is great on a rainy or hot day. If it's cold, the indoor course is still not warm, so remember to rug up. I've never eaten at the cafe but the food coming out looked okay.

Best putt putt we have been to in a long time. Played both courses and the prices are reasonable. The attendant was super friendly and the Spiders reminded me of being a child again. Had a great laugh and good fun. Will go again and highly recommend whatever your age.

Great set up! Having both an indoor and outdoor course is perfect. Especially if it's raining but the kids still want to play. Of course if it's a nice day then outside is just as much fun. Or if you're really into your mini golf do both. There's food available. Can't mention the quality as I didn't have anything to eat. I believe they also cater for kids birthday parties if you're looking for that sort of thing. There's plenty of parking on site and toilet facilities.

visited this place with a school group and a rude male white worker wearing a hat and vest decided to victimise him self and blame us for un delivered food. after paying for 2 bowls of chips and only receiving 1 we went up to him and he refused to take any blame and demanded that others may have stolen our order. as we were watching the table the whole time we were undoubtedly confident that our food did not arrive. very disappointed and will not be returning. show some respect to your costumers.

A fun activity to take the kids to. It was even fun for us adults. I was also surprised with how cheap it was. Both with the entry fee and the food. I think it's only $16 to do both the inside and outside course. Then there is also a playground outside and inside, which the kids played on for a while. I was very happy with our visit and will definitely be taking the kids again next school holidays. Oh, also, the staff who served us were friendly and helpful when my son got a ball stuck.

A lovely tasting area overlooking the river. Particularly liked their sparkling, excellent wines across the range. Of interest a single clone Pinot Noir. They now have a restaurant also that looks great, though I did not dine there.

We started our winery experience with a wine tasting, from Sparkling through Riesling, traditional Chardonnay, Chablis style Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The wines are very high quality, with our experience made all the more enjoyable and interesting by Dean’s explanations and insights. From there we made our way over to lunch at The Shed. The restaurant offers exceptionally high quality dishes, beautifully presented, with flavour combinations that delight! Well worth a visit!

Visited Derwent Estate Vineyard recently along with a couple of others. What an excellent experience it was. Had also visited a few others but absolutely no comparison. The tastings just kept coming brought out to us by an incredibly informative young man that just made our day. Best tastings experience ever. Well done.

We had lunch there today for our wedding anniversary. It was such a treat! The shed was beautiful. Food was absolutely amazing. Great wine options. Staff were really friendly. Plus the view, we were looking down the Derwent valley and river, with so many swans swimming there, feeding and playing, just pleasant. Definitely our new favourite place. There is 10 %surcharge on weekends , as an additional note.

Beautiful winery overlooking the river that run their cellar door out of a charming, 1820s cottage. Derwent Estate really has a wine for everyone’s tastes. The lovely Ren took us through about 12 great wines. It was difficult to pick a favourite! We were also treated to a delicious cheese platter, all while sitting on the veranda overlooking the river. We didn’t have a chance to try the restaurant, but hopefully will on the next visit to Hobart.

Such an amazing vineyard. Great wine, great location and fantastic platter food. Wine at Derwent Estate is top notch and the view from the farm house is beautiful and relaxing. Had a nice tour of the operation and the staff are super friendly. Do yourself a favour and pay them a visit.

One of the best wineries we've been to! Visually it was like something out of a postcard - gorgeous rustic buildings and stunning views everywhere you looked. The staff were so friendly and gave us a wonderful and informative tasting experience, and the wines were incredible. The perfect place to spend a few hours!!

Food was fantastic, well balanced and thought out menu. Wine, as expected was of a very high standard. Don't spread the word too far, we need this for us. Venue a bit loud, something to absorb the noise would have made the experience even better, though I'm sure that will be sorted sometime in the near future. Thank you so much for hosting my birthday lunch.

Had my wife’s birthday celebration here today, service was amazing, food was fantastic, they were very accomodating we will definitely be back ! 10/10

Very happy with my meal at Derwent Estate Restaurant and our waiter was absolutely lovely, he gave us really great tips about the wine to pick with our meal, very knowledgeable. I really recommend the small dish BBQ lamb ribs and the bread with beer butter! The fish was also delicious. This is a beautiful place lovely in summer and winter with a beautiful view. It is great for everyone as there is no a la carte mandatory which allows everyone to get what they want. Thank you for having us yesterday!

For locals or visitors, Derwent Estate and its restaurant offers a perfect weekend escape on the shores of the Derwent Valley. It’s an operating vineyard, with an excellent selection of wines and a great tasting room, as well as a fantastic restaurant in the Shed. The restaurant offers a small and very high quality menu, supported by a great wine list, and allows you to dine with views over the vineyard and the Derwent River. We even got to watch the black faced sheep and their lambs frolic in the vineyard close to the restaurant. Plenty of accessible parking, great and attentive staff and comfortable and spacious seating. It’s popular, so you need to book!

A tiny art museum with unenthusiastic staff 😅 the exterior of the building looks really good though and seems like there’re lots of potential, looking forward to seeing more exhibitions!

Moonah Art Centre is one of my favourite places in the city, The Centre offers multiple uses of the venue to its people. From holding meetings to Art exhibitions and the famous The Moonah Bazaar First Saturday of the Month. The Bazaar offers a platform to small business owners to showcase their work and sell their products. Love the Mozaic work.

A phenomenal union of community, artists and great curators. Lots to see, and do. Go there!

Excellent Art space. Very inviting and helpful staff. Wonderful community vibe.

Community arts venue. I found it wandering around old Moonah which had gone through a metamorphosis. I hung out there 1960s. Taught there 1980s and this art centre is remarkable. It’s free. It’s warm and the exhibition I saw was fantastic.

Great multi-disciplinary arts venue with a variety of gallery spaces, large performance theatre, workshop/breakout rooms/areas, bar etc. Also hosts a huge array of Community events. Convenient parking across the road. Located within easy walking distance to Moonah Main Rd restaurant strip.

Went for a one hour couples massage & it was absolutely amazing, super friendly staff & lovely massage techniques, will definitely be going again soon

Went there today as a 'treat yourself' day for my birthday which is later in the week. I was not disappointed. The staff were lovely and friendly and made me feel really comfortable for my first float spa experience. The spa itself was the most relaxing thing I had ever done, it was so lovely to just get away from the world for an hour. The massage was also wonderful. Definitely recommend going here, I'll definitely be back. :)

My husband and I have been going there for years, always been a great experience. I generally go there fortnightly. The massage therapist always listens to how I like my massage, as I don't like it too hard. Always recommend it to my family and friends.

Do no trust this place....advised they could book for a 430pm float spa on Wednesday then told I made it up because they wanted to close at 4pm.

Service can be a little slow when only one worker there running food/drinks and taking admission payments. Food is always good and coffee not terrible. Facilities are always clean including public toilets!

Our 3yo loved it. Especially the ball cannons.

Great facilities, lots of fun for the kids. Plenty of tricycles to share, lots of room to charge around. Looks be be very safe and secure. Coffee leaves a bit to be desired though. Staff were very nice.

The art & sculpture part of this is not really existent. I would say it’s just the ending point of the Montrose board walk . It could be hard to access as well, we tried after 8pm and the gps sent us through some gates that happened to be closed with a lock , we tried through loyd road and there was also a closed gate, so we ended up walking from the Montrose park, all the way to the GASP, nothing special, in our opinion. But if it was easier to access it wouldn’t hurt to visit! Views of the water/mountains are nice

We started at the Montrose Bay Playground and walked along the boardwalks to get here. I hadn’t looked up what it was about and was so delightfully surprised by the wall to ceiling pink glass. We were there just as the sun was setting and it was magical!

It is an interesting place and fun for photography, fairly open and plenty of parking

Basically nothing much to see except for tha above photos & a half way place to rest when walking or jogging. There’s a rest room opened when we visited, but basically that’s about it.

Great walk to do. Some interesting signage of the history of the place. Bring a jacket though as it gets windy!

They spent a full 2 hours playing in the soft indoor playgym this morning using up excess energy. The place itself needs a deep clean, and paint. It’s fine that its older, but cleanliness is important especially because kids are germ factories. Maybe hire a team of people to just get in there and clean every nook and cranny, then paint, and start again, even with the same equipment it would be a big improvement and wouldn’t cost a considerable amount. 3 stars because of the cleanliness and appearance. I would have given 5 stars for its function to have a safe inexpensive place for kids to play indoors because it satisfies that need. It’s a fun place that is clearly well loved and used by the community.

Old School Prices & Vibe unheard of in modernization era. Young staff are very friendly. Lost my Bose Headphones over weekend which were promptly returned by the young lady staffer next week. A BIG thank you to her & all the staff.

Wouldn't usually post a baddish review but when you pay $4.50 per a dagwood dog for them to be still frozen in the middle, I get the teenagers that are hired may not know how to use a deep fryer but they really should be timing how long an item is in the deep fryer before serving. The place has potential to be a bigger hit with kids as adults just by hiring an end of shift cleaner and maybe having a staff monitor/security for kids making a mess and have an impromptu clean to run over the place. Staff should probably be a bit more trained when it comes to food for paying customers, yes serving a partially frozen dagwood dog isn't life threatening nor against Australias food safety laws but it's probably not going to win you any awards.

It's a great local business and I'd recommend anyone to visit here if you're looking for a fun activity over the weekend or school holidays.

Village cinemas has low rates from Monday to Wednesday, those are your days mate! The movies experience at their theatre is average, rooms itself is small sized with average audio and video quality. Easy cancellation, swap and refund are some of the amazing services they offer. They have nice and friendly staff. RECOMMEND- do reach earlier to get a good seat as they do not book seats in advance. -Popcorn and coke are available at affordable price. -You can always find parking in Glenorchy.

Was really good. The manager was lovely, but the other staff member was shocking, didn't smile, and mumbled most of the time.

Not the best I would say, the seats are old not clean enough, the show timings are also not super flexible, the sound is normal, not great. Car parking is easily available though. As because there are limited options in Hobart, you can give it a go if you live nearby

Daughter and I went to see the little mermaid and we loved it so much we had a great time.

Great place to catch a movie friendly and helpful staff the cinema is clean and well maintained and is the cheapest in Hobart Great visiting on a Monday if you are off work or traveling only $12 .

Enjoyed most of the movie I was there to see, but the group behind us were generally annoying, constantly talking, and making loud comments during quiet parts, feet on the chairs etc, boggles the mind why some people are like that, just let everyone enjoy the movie...sigh....

Had the most amazing experience at Oceanic Spa in Moonah! My partner and I were visiting from out of state and decided to treat ourselves to a massage as we’d never had one. We got the Ultimate package and it was AMAZING. The staff were so friendly and kind, they talked with us and explained the whole process and put us at ease. They tailored our experience to each of our needs and helped release muscle tension I didn’t even know I had! If we were locals we’d be there every week 😊

My partner and I went for a deep-tissue massage and requested we do it together. Hannah and Alina were really accommodating and friendly and the massage was amazing! We will definitely be back and highly recommend the experience!

We paid for two packages: spa(30min) + massage(60min) 120aud each. The masseur Jo was attentive, however our massage last 50min. I was also told that if I was to be charged 135 I could claim under my insurance, which I thought why not, but a supposed email that should have been sent was not and I had to drive back a week later to enquire about it. Every time communication was quite difficult, and because I was a bit disappointed, I asked why our massage lasted less than what we paid for and the attendant said we need to make up time to change and complete a form. This was the firm time I hear that. Also worth to mention I got 17aud back from my insurance, basically meaning I paid more for nothing.

Great place for remedial massages. I have a lot of issues with my knees, legs and lower back. I can avoid a bit of pain in physio therapy with a massage in between! Hannah is really good and very careful around my injured knee!
