WOW! This place is worth the drive! The store is fantastic and so are the staff. And the man made cave they created is just like walking through a real cave! You can touch and feel the crystals and take as many photos as you wish. The greatest place to visit. I'll definitely be back.

The store itself had a wide range of gemstones and jewellery with open layout. Locals get a discount of $20 per person to go through the caves which did not disappoint one bit. We thoroughly enjoyed viewing the crystals and fossils from around the globe whilst making our way through a cave like museum. The headbands were extremely fashionable and a great souvenir. The nostalgia of returning reminded us of how great this place is for kids and adults alike. However the best thing was definitely the staff, Audrey was lovely and kind thank again for your service!

I loved this place, the caves are so beautiful and the crystals and rocks are so pretty it's hard to choose. The staff are very lovely and helpful, I wasn't feeling well and they really went out of their way to help me, thank you.

We walked through the huge cavern that crystals, gems and fossils were displayed and I was gobsmacked. All of the items are labelled where they came from and this huge and beautiful display was created by one man in Australia finding a gem. We bought an unopened geode and had it cracked open. Inside a beautiful crystal that was being viewed for the first time. A must see.

This place is a must to see. But just be warned it’s not real caves, it’s man made to give the impression of being in a cave with real gem stones everywhere inside. It’s in the Main Street and is just a shop front between a few pubs but plenty of parking down behind for motor homes and vans. The self guided tour is definitely worth doing. The information book given about the gems on display is a must to read as you go. Allow some time to do this as there is so many gems to see and such an amazing story to read. Staff are amazing too! So helpful and passionate about gems.

Very, very cool. How many museums actively encourage you to touch so many of their exhibits? And they’re displayed in interesting ways, with some good info in the guide book. My favourite was the fluorescence room with the black light. Gift shop’s the opposite - leans hard into the “crystals have magical powers” thinking. Helps fund the magnificent stuff inside I guess. Worth making the day trip from Cairns if you have even a glimmer of interest in geology or the natural world.

The caves are very cool and all the specimens of fossils and crystals are great! Not to long of a walk around and lots of things to see, there are a few low spots to duck under but other than that a great way to spend a couple of hours and the geode cracking at the end is a great way to top it off!

Excellent few hours exploring and reading all about the crystals. Very interested informative. Cracking a Geo was very good with an excellent end product for us to take home. Worth visiting if you are in Atherton.

I loved seeing the fossil section in the shop. It is clear evidence of Noah's flood. Didn't go to the paid back/downstairs. I enjoyed watching the children experience opening their own rock to see the interior. Crystal caves is very generous in that quite a few rocks were discarded before the child received their guaranteed sparkly one.

Absolutely must if you are in area ! Beautiful collection , great staff members and dog friendly at the top of it . I was surprised how much my husband enjoyed as well . In other ways it's perfect for every age and gender !

The museum is set up like a cave with winding corridors and lots of displays. It has information some interactive parts too. You can also crack your own geode too which is fun

I loved coming here as a kid and I recently returned as an adult. Still a very interesting place to visit even after all these years. A good place for anyone who likes gemstones. The shop where you can buy stones and jewellery is good too.

Absolute must do attraction if you’re in FNQ! We came here spontaneously and was one of the biggest highlights of our trip, you’re able to go into the museum and touch and feel crystals, with specimens that are better than the Australian museum in Sydney. Rene’s passion clearly flows through all of his staff and his business practices, as his love for crystals is what makes the crystal caves so magical. Absolutely must not miss this incredible experience!

Great interactive tour, but the name is a bit misleading. Don't expect a natural "cave system." It is a series of tunnels shaped like a cave that does a great job of displaying all the crystals. It's great your allowed to touch them too!

Staff were awesome, friendly and just downright humerus, Caves were a self guided tour and just artistic, peaceful and educational experience, without being pushed to move along, Kids absolutely loved the experience.

I wasnt that keen on bats until we went to visit. I learnt so much about bats and flying foxes and how Jenny cares for them when they come in. She is extremely knowledgeable, highly committed and it is well worth the visit. You get to see them close up and personal and they are actually really lovely.

Absolutely go here if you can. This place does incredible work rehabilitating bats suffering from tick paralysis and bolstering wild populations of some critically endangered species that are essential pollinators for the oldest rainforest in the world. You get to see the bats up close and personal, and they give you lots of time to observe them. They are SO CUTE - especially the baby flying foxes. They share a huge amount of information on bat behavior, diet, etc. It was really an amazing experience and super important for learning about the threats these animals are facing and what people can do to help. You need to call or email in advance to book a tour.

My how we loved this place! I met my first Australian kelpie here, as well as my first of all of the species of bats they have in permanent care. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and they're doing important work. I actually went twice because the group of friends I was traveling couldn't all go on the same day. I got just as much out of it the second time as I did the first because I thought of different questions the second time. You need to call ahead to schedule a visit, but I was lucky and was able call in the morning and hop on a tour the same day.

Very good the bats were pretty cute, unfortunately i haven’t turned into Batman as expected. Learned a lot about the bats and how they get injured and helped. The signs out the front was very clear to find the establishment. Very friendly and welcoming people and the building site is very nice. The bats looked cute and we got a good look at them from close up. Highly recommend

Beautiful hospital and refuge for several bat species. Jenny gave us a wonderful tour and we were able to see several different varieties. Really enjoyed and it’s worth a trip off the beaten path.

Excellent tour with Jenny. Very informative and interesting. Loved being up close to the microbats and viewing the spectacled flying foxes in their roosting area. Please remove barbed wire or make it very visible and use fine mesh fruit netting. Thank you 😊

This place is a must see on your travels,the staff there are fantastic, they explain all about what goes on at the Bat Hospital and you get close up to a variety of different types of bats and they welcome you to take photos.

We had an amazing tour with Vivvy and learned so much more about bats than we would have expected. Then entire tour is perfectly designed to educate about and built empathy for bats. We wish you all the best in reducing barbed wire and fighting paralysis ticks. 🙏

If you didn't know how utterly important bats are to the ecosystem as a whole, you will do after visiting Jenny's awesome Bat Hospital. This rescue, rehabilitate and release (when possible) sanctuary is a must visit. Its a very well established, professional set up, and Julie and her group of volunteers are clearly very passionate about caring for these endangered mammals. We'll look at all the different bats in an entirely different light and know that they're not blind as.... Highly recommended and thank you..

Highly recommend a visit here where Jenny and her team does an amazing job to rescue and release bats in need! A very informative tour given by Jenny and a volunteer. We enjoyed seeing the bats up close and personal, something we never thought we would ever do. They are such cute little creatures!!

Beautiful location. The entire area is perfect and tranquil. The falls are amazing when they open the gates. The lake is great for catching bara and swimming. It's also a photographer's dream.

Lots of history markers and a Beautiful place for picnics, water sports, walking tracks and parks.

An absolutely beautiful and peaceful place! View the dam from above or below. The dam was almost overflowing when we visited. Many pleasant picnic spots. Drive on about 10 mins past the dam for lovely campgrounds and day use areas. Highly recommended!!!

Spent a Monday afternoon there on a work Christmas Party - so much fun we pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves! Beautiful sunset and loved playing the boat, Jet Ski and biscuit!

Yeah its a nice place the water is a bit low this year and there are march Flys around Christmas but its a nice place to camp if there was more water you can take a boat and do water sports but because of the lack of water this year there is a 5 knot restriction however you can still put a boat in and go fishing there are big barra mununda in the dam but there hard to catch you need to be a skilled fisherman to angle these fish there hard to fined local no ledge is a big help

Not worth the travel Google maps takes you to completely the wrong please some poor bloke ms back yard in fact. Hardly any water and not much to see at the dam wall.

I had chicken burgers, which was $22.30 and relatively expensive I thought but it was very delicious! After meal I tried ice cream sharing with my friends, it was beautiful!

Amazing strawberry farm with some of the best strawberries I have ever tasted! The farm is viewable from the restaurant, and you can see the workers picking the berries. There is a nice atmosphere to the Cafe there, and good service all round. Would seriously recommend just getting strawberries on their own as they are so delicious.

Nice little place for an afternoon tea and/or an ice cream... I couldn't decide, so I made the obvious choice..... I had both. 😂😜 Strawberry Gelato was exceptional... And the cakes, slices and jams are amazing. Treat yourself... You know "I Did". 😀👍😁

What a beautiful experience at 9.30 am, a week day.. Bit early for lunch so we adored their strawberry gelato soft serve. By far the best we have ever tasted.. Would take the short drive out of Atherton just for a gelato!! Gardens and surrounds a beautiful display plus an amazing well stocked lunch bar and restaurant.. A hidden gem.. Thank you. We will definitely be back..

What a gem of a place! Stunning surroundings and a very pleasant cafe. We went in for ice cream and it was expensive but so worth it. Absolutely delicious. Great service too.

It's always great to visit Shaylee Strawberries. The location is beautiful and the service good. The prices are a little high but everything else is good.

Have been a few times and lovely staff, amazing food and a beautiful atmosphere. Loved the variety. My sisters and I all had different strawberry drinks.

What a beautiful spot to relax and soak up the surroundings with delicious food! Cafe is like new, very clean, tidy and looks great! Have been here numerous times and the food has always been great, also don't forget to pick up a jar of strawberry jam to take home! The gardens are worth a walk around and make sure to keep an eye out for all the butterflies and birds around.

Amazing place to stop for coffee and food. Atmosphere is fantastic, and you can sit down to enjoy ur meal looking at the strawberry farm. The food is delicious, and the service was awesome.

If you haven’t tried the strawberry soft serve, you are missing out. The scones with house made jam is amazing too!

Great place to view lots of species of birds. Eco toilet at the carpark, and the bird hide is fantastic. When visited it was all very clean and inviting. Not a great deal of parking, but I guess there's probably not a great deal of demand for it. Definitely a must see if you're a wildlife photographer.

A great double decker hide for those interested in a bit of Ornithology. Some laminated boards inside to guide you in identifying the wonderful birds just in front of you.

Absolutely amazing place, so many birds, its August and there are probably 10000, never seen so many birds at one time. There is a two level bird hide and a toilet. We met the man who built the hide. It is a wonderful place

This is an ideal place to see many different birds. Evening or morning is the best. You can go to the viewing platform and enjoy the views of the swamp and birds. There is a toilet facility without water. It is a must to have a binocular if you want to see the birds well.

So.many.birds!!!! If you like birdwatching, this is the place you should visit. Bring binoculars, a good camera (I didn't 😔) and plenty of mosquitoes repellent.

This is a real hidden gem. Unsuspecting and doesnt give anything away. One of the last Mabi rainforests in Northern Queensland was a real treat to experience. To hear the rainforest sing.

Views slightly spoiler by tree tops and towers. You can sneak a sunrise photo depending on time of year but sunsets are a no go.

Oh yuck!! Toilets are filthy!! Rubbish everywhere. Bins burnt out. Trashed....such a shame!! Poor people having a bridle shower while I was there must be embarrassed as anything. Yuck.

A peaceful beautiful pocket of earth unlike any other rainforest in the world, quite literally. Often see pademelons and other wildlife wandering on the tracks, truly a wonderful hike and wander.

Great views! Plenty of bird life and feral rabbits.

A reasonably clean place to have picnic. Of course ,the toilets were filthy because a lot of humans couldn't care less about public areas now. There were KFC boxes all over the ground, even though there was a bin right there. We will definitely go back. I'll just do a bit of cleaning up.

Great view and easy to visit.

This is a nice little spot. Although I didn't see any platypi, I did see some jumping jack bull ants moving nest. We don't have them where I'm from, so they were fascinating to watch. Don't let them bite you though!

Excellent spot for families to enjoy a picnic while watching the turtle's, roosters, guinea fowl, chooks etc all roaming freely around. A great man made waterfall, beautiful rainforest walk and playthings.

A lovely place to stop for lunch, the cafe is nice but there's plenty of tables and chairs outside should you being your own. The electric BBQ's work well and are clean, a lovely little rest stop and plenty for the kids to see and do.

Didn't see any platapussies but plenty of roosters that keep an eye on you.. 😄

Have stopped by a few times...never when the Cafe is open but will have to keep trying. Lovely place to stop and look around. If you have your own food also facilities to stop and eat overlooking the lake area.

Great place to have a stroll through the forest and see all the ducks/roosters/scrub turkeys, good fenced off playground for the kids and plenty of table and chairs for picnics.

This is our go to when we're in Atherton it has a fully fenced BQ area & playground and dog friendly , a great easy walking track circuit , the wildlife are awesome scrub turkies, water dragons , turtles , and a few domestic roosters and ducks , very relaxing listening to the waterfall , enjoyable stopover to enjoy 🌞

Nice spot to sit for a spell. Clean toilets nearby, but the south side of the water could do with being cleaned up a bit. Love the resident cockerels though.

Nice walking track along the old train line. Terrific cafe with coffee and great eats if you are hungry.

The lady that we spoke to there gave us so much information about attractions on the Tablelands, also where and how to get there. I highly recommend visiting the Information centre for all your travel on the Tablelands.

As a local, I just zipped in to information centre. May our visitors to the area not experience what I just did. So sad.

I found this place a very good place. The people that work in their they are friendly & very helpful. They have a lot of brochures handing. Lots of good information from the people & the brochures that are available. Good place to go to if you are a traveller or on holiday up here in the tablelands. I always find nice gifts to purchase from this place.

We visited & a very helpful man marked up a map of the sights, and told us about a range of sights & walks, more specific than the tourism websites. We followed his advice & had a wonderful couple of days in the area.

Volunteers are knowledgeable,engaged, up to date and take your personal circumstances in consideration when giving advice. We wanted to see animals in the wild and hike on a low budget. Got advice where to stay on a budget, where yo see platypus and tree kangaroos (which we both saw within an hour), which hikes suited us and which ones not and how to approach them

The staff at the Centre and very helpful and full of knowledge and recommendations. If you have any relatives who have served in the 2nd World War and based in this area Nicole is a wealth of information on how to trace their history. Well done ladies.

They definitely know what their talking about. And there is an awesome pub just across the road.

I really liked the main fall. Nice walk from the Henrietta creek campground. The direct (short) way is about 2.5km one way from the camp. I recommended getting there using the longer way (turn right at the sign) approx+2km as it goes past lots of smaller falls up the creek. Well maintained path but can get a bit slippery on the creek crossing when wet.

The walk to the Nandroya Falls is about a 4.8km return trip. It is a stunning walk through the rainforest. Certain parts towards the end are a bit narrow, but still quite manageable. It's beautiful seeing the various waterfalls and streams along the way. The falls themselves are quite impressive, and the grandeur of the place is amazing.

We did the longer hike on the way there, and shorter on the return. Absolutely beautiful! Spectacular waterfall. Only downside is the leaches .. lots of them 😅

Good hiking course, a few bugs (important) and Gavin’s 3-5 small fall and big fall with pool. You can select short course (round trip) and long course (circle back). Easy access, 2WD, recommended to have hiking shoes.

Awesome waterfall! Lil warning make sure that it has not rained the previous night/day otherwise it's abit risky with the small edge/ leaves. Otherwise great waterfall, is definitely a level 3. Start with the right side (longer).

My partner and I took the 3.5km track toward the falls. The track wasn't hard, but it needs to be cleared a bit. The sign near the waterfall is broken and has been moved to the opposite side of the track, which might confuse people where to go. The waterfall is great.

Favourite Waterfall of Cairns so far. Did the circut track late March. Walked in passing Silver falls. The circuit back from falls is a bit unmaintained.. lovely lil shower stops along the journey back towards Henerita Carpark. Next time I'll take more water!!

3rd time here. Just love it. Delightful walk and swimming below the waterfall is an energy blast. So alive

Absolutely spectacular falls! There are three different places to see falls along the track and the walk is not challenging. Just requires a little creek crossing. If the current is not too strong it is safe for a swim. Just be careful - you don't want to accidentally step on something sharp. I would definitely be back again.

Great falls and well worth the 45 min hike in. (90 min return). Good track with some steps, obstacles and uneven surfaces. But lots of opportunity to look around while walking. Silver Falls (on the way) was also pretty nice. We had 2 water crossings, using stepping stones ... with some long steps managed to stay dry. Thick rainforest, great hillside tracks with cascades raging 30-50 metres below. (plenty of recent rain). I had treking sandles and got a couple of leeches. So use insect spray and boots probably better.

Great little place. Has all kinds of gourmet foods. I brought black garlic produced locally, can't wait to get home and start cooking with it.

Delightful store that's been around for many years now. Always used to stop here, and just did so again after moving back to the area. Lovely people behind the counter, and a fantastic selection of foods, especially for someone like me, who's vegan & tries to eat gluten free. Found a favourite product of mine that the supermarket hasn't stocked in over a decade.

If you need to get your hands on some warm nuts, this is the place. Also a great speciality shop full of condiments and a fellow out from cooking up a feast in an oven.

Something for everyone. Lots of local produce and such a happy team working here. Must stop on the Atherton way. Coffee, exotic fruits, chocolates, tea, juices,vnuts, honey and so much more ...see the photos.

Great little find on the way to Atherton. The different flavours of hot peanuts and macadamia nuts are awesome, and they let you taste test before you buy. Good variety of local produce, as well as organic and natural items. To top it off, the ladies behind the counter were really friendly and helpful, and even suggested a couple of things to do in the area.

I would give it 5 stars but for the prices, there’s so much local produce and foods and the HOT NUTS are Fantastic. It’s all very good quality but I feel the prices are what you would pay at a capital City artisan Grocer. Black Garlic, mulberry jam, jerky warm wasabi peanuts, salami … WOW and so much more.

For foodies, this is exactly the shop you hope to find when you are travelling. An unbelievably friendly team with their eye on local producers. The range of locally made products is fantastic, and they know the products intimately. We loved discovering some new things like Skybury’s papaya pickle.

Tough 1.6k hike but wiorth it for the views

Most of the hike is pretty steep but once you reach the top it's all worth it, I reached the top when there was a sunset was perfect. There's a book for you to write your name in aswell!

Great walk, If your looking for a challanging hike, it's a great way to see Atherton from a birds eye view at dawn, just take some bug spray in your kit to keep the mozzies at bay.

A "must see" shop! The charming art deco building houses a myriad of well priced and interesting antiques. Nick was friendly and informative. I bought a few nice pieces.

Without a doubt the best antique shop in Far North Queensland! Very high quality and Nick is an incredible knowledge man. So worth a stop. It is an old house with up stairs as well.
