Stunning architecture on a massive scale, the Grand Mosque is a beautiful tourist attraction. Only open to visitors in the mornings and not open to visitors on Fridays. Modest clothing required - head scarf and clothes that cover all the skin for women. My knee-length skirt was not long enough so I was asked to buy a traditional outfit from the gift shop, this was about 5 rials and a good buy. The buildings and art were stunning and the main room has a collection of massive chandeliers hanging over a huge carpet. Attendants within the mosque were friendly and knowledgeable. The surrounding gardens were beautifully designed and looked after.

A very beautiful and grand Mosque indeed! Friday prayer timings are between 12-12.30pm. There is parking on the road sides. Lack of shade which may leave you feeling hot if you stay too long in the mosque while exploring. Other than that the mosque is a wonder and very beautiful. Definitely a must visit.

Just beautiful place. We got here around 10 am and it was nice. Parking is easy and open 8 to 11am Monday to Wednesday I think. It’s not crowded. You would have to cover up and be respectful. They let us stay til 11:45 ish as we were speaking with some people introducing Islam to us. The place is just wonderful. Not crowded and super clean.

This is one of the most popular and gorgeous mosques I had ever seen. When you enter, there is a huge garden that is full of flowers and rows of trees, in front of you and there is a water channel with a fountain in this garden. There is a monolithic carpet inside which was woven by Iranians. There is a huge chandelier in the mosque that is amazing. Women must be covered for entering the mosque and men should wear pants. The time for visiting is from 8 to 11 p.m.

Extraordinary architecture. One of the main feature of the mosque is the carpet. It is a one piece carpet that covers the floor, produced in Iran. Second most amazing feature, the chandelier, 14 feet tall weighing 8 tons and was manufactured in Italy. In love with this place. Definitely a must visit if travelling muscat. You don't want to miss it. Amazing hospitality of their people. The women's prayer area can accommodate 750 worshippers. And men's prayer area can accommodate 8,000 worshippers.

But we should wear decent clothes as per the religious beliefs and practices.

One of the most beautiful mosques I've ever visited!! The area is huge and the architecture both inside and outside is marvellous!! The main hall is huge and has beautiful chandeliers with central chandelier being very big and extremely beautifully designed. The design of the roof is breathtaking. The imam had a really beautiful voice and praying maghrib there was an amazing experience in itself. Over all would highly recommend everyone coming to Muscat to pay a visit!

An incredibly beautiful mosque and architecturally stunning. A must visit for Muscat. For female visitors, you have to wear long sleeve clothing, make sure that your legs and ankles are covered. Additionally, you have to bring a scarf and cover all your hair especially when you enter into the area where males pray. Women pray in a separate area. The best time to go is 8am in the morning ie as soon as the mosque opens. If you go early you avoid the crowds! Also if you go in the summer months like I did, the weather is much more pleasant early in the morning. And your photos will look incredibly nice. The mosque is not open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

It is open for non- muslims from 8 - 11 am everyday (we went on a Sunday. Google said that it was closed, but on going there, it was open which rewarded us with a lasting memory). Note the hand carved wooden doors and the gigantic carpet. A must see if you’re in Oman. Watch for what you wear as women need to cover their hair and wear long trousers or long skirts.

This is a beautiful place to visit. It is not open to non-muslims on a Friday though, and women must be totally covered including, wrists, ankles and heads. It comprises many buildings but the men's mosque is especially wonderful. Very large and great if you are a keen photographer.

I have rarely seen such a religious building that is kept very clean and tidy, even though many tourists come to visit. That's because a lot of staff are involved in the hard work of keeping it clean, which is amazing. In addition, they seem to concentrate on the activity of publishing how Muslims behave, which is supposed to be a good opportunity for tourists from all over the world, especially Europe, who are not familiar with Muslims. The guides have gone to a lot of trouble and that means a lot. But it could mean many things. I believe that their great encouragement and their great efforts are eternal here from Muscat speading into the whole world.

Visited on Friday evening. It is one of the most beautiful architectural designs. With amazing work on marbles. If u would like to visit on Friday visit in the evening after 3.30pm till 6pm main gates are closed for entrance of tourist. But mosque gates are open. Entrances have no fees, and you spend good time in the gardens area and explore the marvellous architecture.

Beautiful magnificent mosque - free to enter As a tourist be sure to be there between 8-11 otherwise you wont be admitted. Only one note: The guards are not letting you to leave the mosque from the side-ways, just to go from the main entrance and ... take a taxi! This is a bit irritating and shouldn't be allowed.

What an amazing mosque, lots of people on tours and solo, but didn’t hinder my experience of taking the wonderful architecture and the history behind it all! Would definitely recommend, early in the morning if you’d like it to be less busy, it does close to the public for prayer times so please check before you go if you wish to go inside.

Beautiful venue! I am not usually interested in visiting such places when I travel (buildings) but I am so glad I stopped here for a visit. There's a lot of parking space. A nice mall with quite a few restaurant options and and the Royal Opera House is simply stunning. I enjoyed listening to the tour guide explaining how this place is unique and different/what makes it stand out despite being an opera house. I can also see why a lot of events are held here. It's a top photo spot in Muscat and it's a beautiful place to come to see a show or even to visit, regardless of whether or not there is a show going on. There is security, it is easy to buy tickets and the tour guides are professional + very knowledgeable. Impressive building with a stunning design both in and out - and an amazing attention to detail.

This is a must attraction to visit when in Muscat. There is a tour for 3.1 riyal (paid by card only) which lasts about 15 to 20 mins. Tour includes detailed explanation of architecture of building, various musical instruments and the main auditorium hall and its features. Adjacent to the opera house is a luxury desert place, shopping mall, library. Has a covered parking lot for visitors.

We went there on 19/09/2023. It was a great experience at Royal Opera House, we went ok weekdays not too crowded but due to rehearsal we couldn’t made it to auditorium but they allow us gallery area which cost us 1 OMR per person. As you enter you have to undergo security scanning. Counter staff was so polite and cooperative. The gentleman man who guide us and gave information was really professional and his English was best so you can easily understand. You can ask questions and even they will be more happy to assist for any further information. They will take photos of you and I think they are best at it. Must visit

Amazing place if you are in Muscat you need to go there ❤️❤️. You can enter without needing tickets but for this you need to go in the morning hours. In conclusion, it is a magical place, where you can spend time with your family and friends, very beautiful and highly recommended. Also around this place you will find many restaurants and places where you can eat and have a drink.

Lucky enough to get a ticket for a show on our visit. They apparently sold out online however if you come here, they might have some stand by tickets to sell. Same price. You can have a tour of the place while you are there on a separate ticket. It’s a short tour and not that interesting. If you ask, they might just let you walk around. The opera we saw is Turkish dance and it would so good. The sounds in the opera makes the music comes to live.

An amazing building. Such beautiful architecture! It's best to see it by night as it's all lit up. We didn't go inside but the carpark was just next door and there was nobody about so we could enjoy it on our own. There are formal gardens & a colourful waterfall connected. There's a covered walkway to the luxury shopping centre on the other side of the road, featuring watches and expensive perfumes. I totally recommend a visit

Unfortunately wasn’t able to attend any of the shows - been told during the tour that the Sultan enjoys opera and brought different types of entertainment into the Royal Opera House, from classical to Middle Eastern music and priced accordingly so that everyone can enjoy the arts. The tour will touch on the purpose and construction of the Royal Opera, some priceless instruments on display and its origins as well as the state-of-the-art seating arena and how the Royal Opera House is different from other opera houses that you’ve seen.

It’s a beautiful architecture. Amazing building. However the ticket price of 3.15 Omani rial per person is bit expensive just to see the gallery. That’s £6.50 pp.

Externally, very photogenic, internally, sumptuous and detailed. The visit could be very quick, there is the entrance and the theatre, but it depends how much time you spend to enjoy the details. I was lucky that there was the lights checking in preparation of a show.

Use of teak wood, marble, gold, gold covering, door handles walls, carefully designed in macro and micro level. A must see in life at Muscat, Oman. There are tour tickets available when shows are not happening. Pre book them. Tour Closes by 5pm. So plan your trip accordingly. The garden in front of the ROH is amazing..well maintained. The marble seems like oasis with the kind of polishing it has got. The attic hosts many grand events including the Fifa world cup display tour.. Museum of Arts is a place to watch. I missed entering as I reached late. Last show at 4pm Parking available..

Fabulous facility. World class building with the finest quality installations. A real credit to all involved with designing, building and maintenance. There are also shops within the complex. Take the tour, very informative.

This is a beautiful stretch of sand, extending for about 5km. When we visited there were no loungers or umbrellas, nothing on the beach at all to help you relax and not get the full force of the sun. It was a lovely stroll and very picturesque as well as being shallow so you could stand up 50m out into the water. Maybe beaches here aren't a thing as it is just too hot?

Beautiful views. On one side there are natural mangroves and on other side amazing view of this beach. If you get space, you can park the car at side parking of the road and can have long walk/jogging. Not sure about summer, but in winter season it is awesome experience.

Warm water Sand is dark If you want to swim better take aquashoes to get in the water, but if not there won't be any problem. There's no beach support like bars to but water or juice. You have starbucks on the other side of the road, so it means you have to get out of the beach to but something to eat. Good beach for sunset, bring a towel and sit enjoying the relaxing environment.

Qurum Beach is an absolute delight, deserving a full five-star rating. The beach is exceptionally clean, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing day by the sea. The promenade is also beautifully maintained, offering a lovely place for a stroll with stunning views. Highly recommend for a serene and scenic beach experience!

Bait al Zubair Museum was a twentieth century Omani house, owned by a long standing government minister that was then converted to a museum to showcase Omani culture - clothes, weapons, architecture, trade and music and the differences between the regions that make up the country. Again, the 45 minutes we had here weren't enough but we did get an overview of the country and its people and left with a greater understanding than we had before we went inside. We didn't have time to see the gardens, the separate recreation of an Omani house, the map rooms or the stamps and coins room, basically in 45 minutes we just saw the ground floor so allow maybe 2 hours.

Perfect location to learn about Oman traditions and culture. Many halls within the meseum showcasing different aspects. One of the halls is a real time traditional Omani house fully furnished as it was in the past. Receptionist gave us discounted tickets because we reached at 4:30 and place closes at 5:30 😅

Nice small museum with a variety of Omani and Arabic historical and cultural displays and artifacts. Large coin, stamp and manuscript collection covering ancient and modern pieces. There is a beautiful garden and agricultural exhibit and also a very nice restaurant on the site. Convenient to downtown as well

I simply loved this museum! Make sure you take minimum 2 hours to explore everything. I wish I had extra time to enjoy a cup of tea at their nicely decorated café. Well, next time! You'll learn a lot about the history of the traditional clothing, see some local art (paintings)+ photos of old Oman. You'll also see how a traditional house looks like. The place is not too crowded. You can pay both cash and card.

Well maintained private museum in Oman, you will get to know a lot about the Omani culture when you visit here, place is very clean and well organised. Ticket price is 3.2 OMR. There is also a cafe and restaurant in the museum premise. Staff is really friendly. When I went place was really empty with just few other tourists.

This is an Omani cultural heritage museum that is well maintained and very specific. You can buy tickets at the entrance, and walk through this place. 30-60 minutes is good time to spend here, and it is not usually crowded. There is a cafeteria outside for some quick snacks and drinks, and restrooms are available. They accept payment by card or cash.

The museum is worth a visit and shows the Omani culture and history with very interesting artefacts.

The sinkhole is surrounded by a park with a playground available for children. During the summer, the area itself was hot but in the sinkhole the weather was cool and windy. The sinkhole is kept relatively clean and inhabited with small fish that feed on dead skin so I reccomend soaking your feet in the water; the sensation is ticklish but rather relaxing. If you wish to swim, the water is cool and varies in depth: from shallow to deep - be careful of ragged rocks and don't tread too deep if you are inexperienced with swimming. There is a bathroom where you can change clothes too. The view is beautiful and filled with nature and dunes, I recommend coming during the evening for a view of the sunset.

Just a natural wonder. A must visit place for everyone in Oman. We can swim in d sinkhole and the facilities provided are good enof for a family outing. No entrance tickets. Can visit anytime. There are facilities to change dress, kids can use d children's park n few gazebos are provided for PPL to take rest.

Review for the Sinkhole: I recently visited a renowned sinkhole and my experience there was definitely noteworthy, deserving of a five-star rating for certain aspects. Firstly, the site is impeccably maintained, with clear pathways and good signage, making it accessible and safe for visitors. The sinkhole itself presents a unique natural wonder. Its sheer size and geological features are impressive and offer a great opportunity for some stunning photography. However, it's important to note that this is more of a brief stopover spot rather than a day-long destination. Most visitors, including myself, found that spending around 30 minutes here was ample time to appreciate the site and its natural beauty. One of the intriguing aspects of this sinkhole is the presence of small fish in the water. The water clarity wasn't the best during my visit, which might put off those hoping for a pristine swimming experience. However, these fish are known for gently nibbling at your skin if you dip your legs in the water, which can be a fun and unique experience for those who haven't tried a natural 'fish spa' before. In summary, while the sinkhole may not offer a wide range of activities or crystal-clear waters, its well-maintained nature and the unique experience with the fish make it a worthwhile visit. It's an excellent choice for a quick stop to witness a fascinating natural formation and to experience something a little different. Just keep in mind that it's more suited for a short visit.

Spectacular natural wonder, do visit if you are visiting Muscat. You will be in awe of nature. Safety aspects could be better though, as I saw lots of reckless individuals diving without any swimming/safety gear. Lightning during the evenings need to be better, it was literally pitch dark around the inside and around the Sinkhole after sunset

Beautiful Park. Visited this place on a Saturday morning. Sink Hole Park is open from 8am to 8pm. No much visitors during opening time. You are allowed to swim inside the sink hole at your own risk. The water is salty and there is ample space for playing and resting in the park. The park is well maintained. Toilets are available, no option for food, you can carry your own food inside and it it allowed.

There are so many doctor fishes in the Sink hole. It's very mysterious how and why the water can be kept clean? My daughter enjoyed to play with the doctor fishes and enjoyed the small entertainment in the park.

Wonderful park maintained in the heart of Bimmah Town. The sinkhole is naturally created due to an asteroid hitting the earth. The government has created a park around this place for people to enjoy their visit. This sinkhole is some 65 ft deep and many people have lost phones and go pros while swimming in this hole. This is slightly saline water and swimming far from the surface is not highly recommended. This beauty of a sight is surely an eye pleasing structure and quite unique. Visit this place along with wadi shab on a day tour.

It is a massive hole very close to the sea. However is a wonder that the water level is much deeper than the sea level. There is nice garden around to spend time with family and children.

Small park, very hot during the day, but you can swim. Take shoes with you on your feet, as the stones are very slippery. I recommend wearing a swimsuit before you come there because there is no changing room.

Nice place with a garden, free parking and free entry. Several shades places for picnicking. You can swim in the sinkhole so bring your swimsuits. The only food option was a small stall at the entrance selling cookies and water. Deducting 1 star because there were few pieces of plastic floating in the water.

This is one of my favorite spots. It's an easy 50 minute drive from Muscat. Easy to locate. I arrived around 2pm and wasn't very busy. Free entrance and free parking. The view is stunning and you can walk down to the sin hole and take a dip or just sit and have the little fish feast on your feet. Water is clean and clear, including the surrounding areas. Strongly suggest dressing modestly which means shoulders and knees covered. Bring water as it does get hot.

This is a sink hole situated at outskirts of Muscat, Oman. It is a deep hole with sea water filled in this hole. It's depth is around 30-40 ft. People generally dive from aide edges. You can also enjoy fish spa here. This place is generally good in cool weather, not recommended in summer. No food available near by, carry your own food. Sea shore nearby. This place is worth visiting, if you are in Oman or visiting Oman you must visit this place once. Located almost 140kms from Muscat towards Sur. Free entry for all, you will get free fish pedicure. It’s very deep & good place for swimming lovers. There is no option to rent life jacket etc. I think government must provide a lifeguard & some life jackets for those don’t know swimming.

Bimmah Sinkhole is one of the most beautiful natural pools in the world (in my opinion), located in Oman, just an hour-and-a-half drive south of the capital, Muscat. The local legend has it that Hawaiyat Najm (Arabic for a falling star) struck the Earth in this very spot, creating the Bimmah Sinkhole. In reality it just a depression in the limestone that fills with brackish water as the sinkhole is only 600 meters from the ocean and does have freshwater that feeds into it. Bimmah Sinkhole is one of the easiest sites in Oman to get to, being located about 130 kilometers south of Muscat, right off the Muscat-Sur Highway near the village of Dibab. The bit of land surrounding Bimmah Sinkhole is called Hawaiyat Najm Park and is well maintained. There are numerous covered pavilions with picnic tables, a toilet, installed rubbish bins, paved walking paths, and a playground. Bimmah Sinkhole itself is surrounded by a short stone wall for safety (though locals do hop it so that they can dive in from the top). There is an installed set of steps that lead from the park giving access down into the Sinkhole. Parking is free at the lot here for Bimmah Sinkhole at Hawaiyat Najm Park. Note that Hawaiyat Najm Park park is open from 8 am to 8 pm daily. There are small fish that live in Bimmah Sinkhole. We didn't know this before we had visited and were getting tickled in the water when we were standing around in it. It was the same Garra fish that nibble your feet in those 'fish pedicure' spas in Thailand and Cambodia. So if you feel a bit of tickling of your feet and legs while swimming here, know it's just some of the friendly fish that inhabit these waters (and also a great reason to make sure and not wear sunscreen in the water. Realistically you could only visit for a few short minutes to walk from the parking lot to the edge of Bimmah Sinkhole to see it, snap a photo or two and move along. I'd recommend to at least set aside an hour to visit and go for a swim.

Located near the Muscat-Sur highway and close to the beach. So it makes the best destination to spend some time here and rest of the time with your family on the beach. Well maintained and plenty of space for parking.

Nothing much to see its free and in the middle of small park even though people were swimming but there is a lot of algie and its not clean at all!!! Its worth a trip only once, the drive is through mountians from Muscat, if you are in Oman for sight seeing than for sure visit. The water on the way to the Sinkhole “Gulf of Oman” is clean and clear you can see a lot of people parked… Not a bad experience over all!!!

Well maintained place and safe for swimming. Very deep at the ends but the starting 10m is shallow. Lot of steps to walk so people with leg problems aren't encouraged to climb down. View from top is also amazing.

The Miracle location in Oman is a well-known tourist destination. However, it is important to be aware that swimming there can be dangerous due to its depth. Nevertheless, the area is well-maintained and includes a park, making it an appealing place to visit. Please note that the steps are quite large, so those who have difficulty walking may find it risky and tiring.

It's a deep natural water sinkhole. It's close to muscat Sur highway, and it's a must visit place to visit. The place is quiet and well maintained. It's pretty low in terms of water level and requires stairs to visit and see the water. Great views all around the mountains, ocean, and sinkhole. Some people do swim in sinkhole, but there are tiny fishes there as well. Overall, it was a great experience and must stop place while driving to or from Sur to muscat.

Natural sinkhole. Worth a visit and swim if you are into that. Very popular with tourist stops as a spot to visit and pause for a small picnic. Very easily accessible and parking is non demarked. So you can park your car however you want. Just note that there are washrooms however no changing rooms as such. So go swimming at your leisure and comfort accordingly.

OK, the legend says a meteor hit the ground and made this hole in the ground, so if you are in oman for a few days it's a must see. they did a really good job here by building a park around it. so you can go there see the hole and do a picnic. there are places for that, also there are games for children. there are public bathrooms. the water in the hole is good for swimming. I recommend you go there early in the morning before it gets crowded. entrance is free of charge.

What a place for hiking. Simply walk over the rocks between qantab beach towards Al Bustan Palace hotel. With a multiple curves and stone beaches its a favorite place for morning explorers.

Qurum Park is the largest park in Muscat. It covers up an area of 17,15,449 sq meters and is located in a convenient position. There is no entrance fee to this Park. This is very good natural park with development. Good for family and kids lot green fields and playing area. Many restaurants and food outlets. Qurum Natural Park is a lush, green oasis that provides a cool refuge even from the summer heat thanks to its tall shade trees

One of the best parks to visit when in Muscat city, the park is huge with pond at the center. There are many shades and trees around. A lot of expat workers come to unwind during the weekend. There is also like a carnival inside entrance fee.

Great park, with a lot of things you can do inside besides waking. There is a family area and wild area, area with amusement park.

Oman’s largest park spreads across 400 acres of landscaped greenery and is a favorite spot of families and lovers of the great outdoors alike. There is a large pond at the Centre of the park. Children’s playgrounds, picnic facilities and vast lawns, as well as flower gardens to enjoy. Walk around the well-maintained footpaths and walkways or just enjoy a book under the shade of a tree. The park has refreshments and toilet facilities meaning it is one of the finer places to pass an afternoon or evening throughout the year. Early morning walk is best, as less crowded and if you are lucky, you can spot some birds near the large pond and can listen to chirping of different varieties of birds and honey bees collecting honey from the varieties of flowers. A nice and calm place to spend time with friends and family.

Great place for evening walking, lovely walking area and calm space to go on a walk especialy with your family. There is one reasturant and two cafe and one bycycle rental shop. You can enter Marah Land from this park.

The Amouage Perfumery is a great Oman Iconic place to visit. It is interesting to learn a bit about the history of the world’s most expensive perfume. A guide will greet you as you enter the lounge and walk you through a brief history of each of the perfume lines, you can also read about their ingredients in very well presented glass cabinets. The guide will also show you the area inside the perfumery where the perfume is bottled capped and packed after some rigorous testing, cleaned for fingerprints and packed - manually. The tour may take about 20 -30 minutes or so depending on your interest. You will also be taken to the boutique where you can buy the perfumes. It is interesting to know that the woman’s line of perfumes has a bottle cap that resembles the dome of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the men’s line of perfumes has a handle of an Arabian dagger.

Worth a visit to take something special home. A sample box of six mixed perfumes is always a nice treat. Be sure to take your time trying the different fragrances out.

A small Oasis in between mountains. You require a 4x4 to get there and its nothing special but memorable if you visit the local village at the end of the road and chit chat with locals. You can camp ⛺️ the other side of the Wadi and if not interested there is a small resort. Kindly stop in between to support the local supermarket (see pics for reference)😊…

This is an offroad journey through many mountains. It is advised to visit with a 4 wheeler and fully conditional vehicle as currently the road is not paved. The journey is adventurous and finally after long drive through the mountain, you will see a beautiful wadi with water. Such an mesmerising natural creation.

A place worth visiting with family and friends. However, four-wheel vehicle is necessary. Going there could be tricky because the google map can lead you to different trekking route. But following the road signs comes handy. Water pools are pretty deep, long and wide.

Even 2 wheel Sedan cars handled by skilled and experienced offroad drivers can take you easily to reach this beautiful wadi safely. You may park the sedan cars in parking area near first pool, if you have 4 wheel drive car then you may take it to little further crossing the wadi. You may also trek after parking cars. Though the trekking is difficult it will offer you the sight of many beautiful pools with emerald green waters. One of the best wadies in Oman. Also you may plan for your next family lunch out.

Absolutely stunning hidden beauty in Oman I wish add more fascinating words coz u can't describe in few words. We spent a half day as we didn't expect such a beautiful Village in there it's about 130km from muscat towards Bimmah direction, u can reach by sedan car's but a dedicated off Road SUV can take you more deep inside for better water areas

Amazing wadi, we really enjoyed our scramble through this wadi. Park your car somewhere towards the end of the road, drive as far as you feel comfortable with your car, and then walk to the end of the road. When you reach the end of the road, take a left turn into the fields. Walk alongside some levadas to reach the wadi. Then make your way scrambling through the wadi. Take a dry bag, so you can swim part of the way. However, we preferred wadi Tiwi, look at my review there to see how to do a proper 3 hour wadi scramble through wadi Tiwi.

Amazing place for nature lovers. It's like an oasis with lot of pools of clear water. It has natural blue and clear pool of water with enough depth to do cliff jumping. It has small ponds as well, which can be fun for kids. Wadi can be reached by a 4x4 and its road is adventurous as well with nice views. So, this place is for everyone of any age, looking for adventure, water fun, and to be in serenity off mountainous nature.

It’s a very beautiful location one of the best place to go with family...but a 4X4 vehicle is needed to reach there it will be very difficult to reach by using normal car...I didn’t find any swimming restriction board so you can enter in water some are water is deeper and stones are slippery so do not enter if you don’t know swimming

A wow place in terms of quality of construction and LEDs around the atrium but it was dead at the time we visited. Most of the outlets are not operating yet. A few opened up in this new section of the Mall. Hopefully the place will draw crowd it deserves. Everything seemed perfectly in its place. All it needs is some big retailers to pull the crowd to the Mall.

We went to the Grand mall two days ago. Very clean, lots of parking. Although the mall was so big it hardly had people. The shop employees were so bored and on their phones. Nobody really pays attention. there are some restaurants that you dont have at the other malls. Made a round but the shop employees didnt invite us to go inside.

Great Mall with lots of branded shops and nice food court.was heavenly relaxed, spotting my all-time favourite chocolala. I would recommend all chocolate and ice cream lovers to definitely try chocolala products. Almost all shops are spacious. They have Carrefour also as hypermarket @the ground floor.Nice shopping experience altogether.

The interior of the shopping mall seemed to be a bit older and darker, even inside the mall, in a slump, considering that some spaces are left empty after they're gone. The food court also looked desolate, considering the large area and small number of shops, which made me realise. From the outside, it looked huge and the well-lit decorations made it attractive, especially at night. The main reason is that the new shopping centre has been built next to it. I found a new vending machine that was about to squeeze fresh oranges into fresh juice. I tried to put in a bank note several times, but it never accepted it. I also wondered why the two machines located on the ground floor near the main entrance and on the first floor in the food court area looked the same but had different prices, 1 and 0.5 OMR. Do they have different sized cups? I have high expectations that they would come to get new unique attractive shops and facilities. I felt that the shopping mall looked like the human being getting older and older while the new generation is born and grows up every year. They look like athletes who were active in the past. It was like watching the prosperity rise and fall in this shopping mall.

Small mall but with good number of high street brands plus Carrefour and few dining options. The place is less crowded compared to the next mall ( The avenues ).

This might be a little harsh. Yes a nice modern Mall but has no individual character. Top floor not open because shops are empty. Not very busy and every person who we met at the checkout stations never smiled or looked happy in their jobs. Generally we were pleased to leave.

High quality mall. Cinema, arcade, sports shops, discount stores, Arabic clothing stores, gym equipment, big food chains, supermarket (Carrefour) and is clean and has nice designs. Items are cheaper than most, for example I found an under armor sports top for about 6 OMR.

Muscat Grand Mall seems to have been built upon a good concept but it is yet to open up in its entirety. The stores opened currently are limited, options in food court is quite limited. It is probably overshadowed by neighbouring Oman Avenues Mall which appears much more active and live comparatively. Once it has more stores open, it should be a great destination for families.

Quiet and little to no foot traffic. Honestly is a shame because a little investment in better lighting, an extra lift or two and a revamp of the parking, it would be good. Only visited for the Crocs sale (which sounds like they're going out of business). Hope there is some improvement or a very well thought of contingency to repurpose the building eventually.

The exhibitions are located in a fort, which we thought was really great! Outside you can see the vehicles of the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, as well as military vehicles. The museum has been designed with great attention to detail. All the staff was very nice and welcoming!! Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful experience, after entering the building you can see some tanks and armoured vehicles. Then you follow some stairs to enter the building where army personnel at the reception will note down the details. Upon entering the building a military curator will accompany you for the tour of the museum, one can see guns, cannons, muskets, flags of navy, air force, military, guard of honor, sniper rifles. Pictures on 1st floor can be taken, but on the ground floor it is prohibited, ground floor contains some old weapons, swords, helmets. On the outside, there are is bunker demonstrating working during war, there are some old jeeps, military trucks, military workshops showing different wood work, metal work. On the whole it is worth visiting. At the end of the visit one has to sign in the visitors book.

Very interesting and informative place with lot of historical aspects explained with nice visualisations. It not only explains the history of Oman but also tells the struggles and difficulties this area has faced in past and how they managed to overcome that. The museum is in old Bait Al Falaj fort and Falaj name comes from the concept of how fresh water was being provided from mountains to residence of fort. You can view that as well. For tourists, upto 10 years are free. Above 10 years it is 3 OMR per person and both cash and card options are there. The army staff there was really nice and explained different parts of exhibition very well. We followed google map, but it took us to other way which was restricted and army officer explained us how to reach to this place. So be careful on choosing the path and enter to museum site from Al Mujamma St. Try to spend maximum time in order to get maximum knowledge. Some places are restricted for taking photos. Videos are not allowed.

This was my second visit to the museum and this museum mesmerizes me everytime. All the historical facts are very well displayed. We go back to that era. Entire history of Oman is beautifully written and explained like an engaging story. The museum is very neatly maintained. We actually feel that we are on the battlefield. Salute to all the brave people who laid down their lives to resurrect Oman.

We were visiting Muscat from Dubai, we went here following google map, it was showing wrong entrance, but army personnel talked to us so politely & informed us about correct entrance. Then after reaching here we took videos on GoPro, army personnel again politely asked us to delete videos as taking videos not allowed here. After that they started to apologize that we had to delete videos, so polite Omani peoples. Love their attitude & hospitality.

Great place. Housed in the old amazing fort. Very comprehensive exhibitions. Covering Oman's history. Or rather the people living in this areas under constant fighting with neighbours. From historic times up til today, after the independence from the Portuguese in 1650. Tons of weapons. Historical and from all over the world, gathered from the many forces invading and internal conflicts that have taken place in the region. Quite interesting, to me, the development of the defence system and fortresses. Outdoors, lots of ground vehicles and a few airplanes. Recommended!

We visited the place last weekend. Truly a wonderful place to reminisce Omani history, specially the reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, he is so much loved & remembered.💚 The place displays a lot of military equipment from the ancient times-- firearms, armor, artilleries, etc. I felt nostalgic seeing the military garments, camouflage, insignia, & other memorabilia of one Great Leader!

Great museum. Covers almost all Omani history of military. All three forces artifacts were showcased. Entry fee was 3 Omani for tourists. 2 for Omani residents.

All the mosques in Oman are beautiful. This mosques gives us different experience due to its location, art of construction and aesthetic. The mosque is at good elevation, where we can see broad roads of Muscat. Lighting of the mosque and the crown of the mosque are really extra beautiful. Very big car parking available.

Beautiful at night! I walked around the outside and was blown away. I tried to go inside in the daytime as I had read online it was open 8-11am during Ramadan but when I arrived, they said it was closed all month for non-Muslims.

It’s an amazing mosque with beautiful view. It’s very big at this location and fully white exterior design. Each side has a different view of the mosque. Hills are giving as ultimate view to the mosque. Ablution water was cold during the summer heat. Alhamdulillah great opportunity to visit and had our Luhar prayer.

Very beautiful Mosque. You'll have to wear a decent uniform if you'd like to explore inside the corridor or the actual mosque. A lot of construction happening nearby which can be avoided. You can do the city view from one side of the yard.

Due to its location in a high hill, it is visible from -almost- all over Muscat. Very impressive -marble- mosque, especially in the night. Easy accesible, whith large parking.The mosque is subject to speciall dress code, as all the mosques. It worths a visit, especially a full moon night! The place looks exceptionally good during night time as everything lights up and can be seen from far away...The interior isn't as good as the exterior but still it's all worth the visit.

It is huge and beautiful Mosque, with quiet library space for reading books and studying. Opening time : Mosque : prayer time only. Library : From 8:30 AM to 5:30PM I advise students and researchers to come to the library.

A woman’s section that’s big and clean and calm? yes! One of my favorite mosques for visit. Truly beautiful architecture and the woman’s section is huge and air conditioned. There’s elevators that take you straight there. 100% recommended.

Fabulous mosque with the largest single carpet in the world. So worth going and there is free admission and a free tour that explains about the mosque. Go early and take your time.

Amazing mosque from the outside (at daytime and at night) and inside. Open for tourists daily (except Fridays) from 8 till 11 am. Lots of free parking spaces.

The museum is unfortunately closed so we just had to be happy walking around the place. The website has not updated the status and this is a big problem for tourists.

Small cosy museum. Very convenient for tourist visiting Sultan Qaboos port. Gives a quick view about Oman history and geology.

A very beautiful museum that displays through interactive exhibits and exhibits, from their geological formation to ancient and marine life and folk art.

We went there on weekdays but it was closed, the worst thing that can happen to the visitor is to go to a place where they state it is open from 9 to 6 but supposedly you find it closed with no reason and there is no update in google, if there is maintenance or anything why you don't say ? I hope the management takes tourists attraction places seriously, it is not your own to close it ore open it anytime you wish

All artificial things... Not a museum but an art gallery..

A place NOT TO BE MISSED during a visit to muscat. Actually, I visited this place twice, because I didnt have enough of it from the first time. An old Omani house converted into a museum for local culture and omani history. The interior is an architectural masterpiece especially the woodwork, spaces and light. Some of the rooms has been converted into media tools to explain the geological formation of Omaan as well as history timeline.
