Generally speaking, this hotel does not really resemble the quality of service and stay of Jumeirah group. The view and location are amazing, however service and amenities are lacking.
The room: Clean and spacious, better to take a room with sea view. However, room service does take time to deliver 20+ min.
Spa: A little disappointing, when you expect the highest quality and facilities but it really was average. Sauna sealing paint was falling off. The architecture of the facilities are not though through, No jacuzzi or pool in spa area, and design does look simple.
Pool and beach: when we arrived at the beach, we were chasing beach staff to get towels. There were 2 people on duty for more than 40 sunbeds. Seems that the hotel is understaffed. Not good for a hotel of such class. The view however is amazing. On the second day of our stay the whole beach was covered with Algae, you couldn’t even get into the water, however, lifeguards did not comments anything and no signs were posted about it. (Swimming in Algae is not recommended, while lifeguards said it’s ok) What we did like is that kayaks and padel boards are available for all for free, so kids are always entertained. I would recommend the hotel to add atleast 1 shower at the side of the sea so that you wouldn’t need yo wall all the way to the pool. Also, there is a ramp that goes from the pool to the sea, adding a rail isn’t costly but very good as the slope of high and slippery.
Restaurant: the quality of food is amazing, even though for example breakfast doesn’t have a big selection. What was disappointing is the service. Not enough staff, not greeting and you do need to chase waiters to remove plates from the table and order tea/coffee. The main restaurant is packed and you are seated very close to other tables, so there’s not much privacy.
Other facilities: kids club is good, kids of all ages have something to do there. Gym is also very average and but does not have windows.
This review may seem very picky of details, however, when you choose one of the most expensive hotels in the city, you certainly expect the best of everything. Before Jumeirah we visited JW Marriott Muscat, which had exceptional service, everywhere in the hotel from all departments. So between the 2 hotels, we don’t see much difference expect from the price and view.
We will not be returning to the hotel, not worth it.
Good; location, view, food, rooms.
Bad: service, facilities.
