A beautiful and inspiring sanctuary on the hills of mount Carmel. Offers sweeping views of the Haifa harbour and bay. The gardens themselves are immaculate and we'll maintained. I enjoyed my visit. The gardens were closed to the public when I visited. We were able get a view from the top viewing deck and then joined a small guided walking tour from half way down (access through another gate). There is this upper part, middle PaRt and bottom point. All separate entrances. So my plan of starting from the top and walking down did not work out 😂😂 In drakes words you got to start from the bottom to get to the middle and top. An ordeal to get there unless by taxi or you're very, very fit to walk there as it's all uphill. Taxis are extremely expensive unless you can get a group together to share the cost. The view from the top, however, is fantastic, providing panoramic views of the Haifa Bay area.

It is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I have ever seen. The gardens are an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to Haifa. The gardens are built on a series of terraces, each offering a different view of the stunning landscape. First of all the entrance is free, which is a great plus for a place like this. Very nice view and beautiful gardens. Unfortunately isn't possible to visit the gardens on your own, but you have to wait for the guided tour (available in Jewish, Arab, English and Russian). A big no from my point of view is that you must stick to the high pace of the guides, so you have a very little time to enjoy the place and take some pictures, furthermore, the guide does not wait the group for the explanations, so if you waste one minute to take a photo, you'll miss the explanations about the place, the religion, etc.

Very beautiful place to visit in Haifa. If you are in Haifa, it is essential that you visit this garden. You will not be able to miss it since it is so grand and pretty. Highly recommend you book the tours given by the staff. They will give a history about the Baha’i religion, the beliefs of Baha’i, the structure of the gardens etc. The guide was really informative and engaging. If you are lucky to be in Haifa at night, be sure to head to the German Colony to take night views of the gardens

The best thing to do in Haifa! The gardens are immaculate and run completely by volunteers. My husband and I went on a guided tour which was free. I definitely recommend going on the tour as this is the only way to view the upper terraces. An absolutely beautiful, peaceful place.

The Gardens are beautiful. First the top level is free to all great views of the Haifa bay and the Baha’i gardens and shrine from the top. However if you really want to experience the gardens then get tickets in advance. If you are in Haifa it should be a must. The tour is about 60 minutes. It is 750 steps down. You will have a guided tour in English if you want and can stop at about 4 levels. You cannot walk back up the steps. You can take a bus 136 -7 stops (I think you need a Rav Kav. Like a metro card to board the bus) to return you back to the top, or walk through the German Colony Blvd and get a taxi. It a bit of a walk but there are cafes along the way back to the Carmel mountain

If you have the chance to visit the beautiful city of Haifa, you don't want to miss this wonderful park! From the entrance at the top, you have wonderful view over the city and the Mediterranean Sea. We've been lucky enough to entrer the terrasses, though it seems like it's not always possible. Nonetheless, simply the views from up there are worth the visit.

Ordered tickets in advance and then had to choose an entrance hour. This process is pretty cumbersome. Came with the kids on a public holiday, it was busy but still felt like there was enough space for everybody. Madatech has some interesting exhibitions on science, space, engineering, and health. It's geared towards kids and young teens, but adults might also find it interesting. The Fool Me exhibit is especially fun, where you learn how to do magic tricks and how science plays a part in magic shows. This isn't to be confused with the "Magic of Science" demonstration, which I suppose is for kids aged 4 to 15, where the scientist demonstrates what happens when various chemicals are combined. Madatech was a fun way to stay out of the heat, but it would have been more interesting if I was 10 years old. Pro tip: If you're going to Madatech in the summer with your kids, bring towels and swimming clothes. There's an outdoor water fountain for kids to play in, which looks like a fun way to cool off.

Madatech, the former site of the prestigious Technion, is a great family experience. The science museum has permanent exhibits accesible to a wide range of ages and audiences and maintains halls specifically for changing exhibits - on our most recent visit it was climate innovation and Klimt, but previously we enjoyed dinosaurs, virtual reality, and others. The museum boasts a real fighter plane, thought-provoking physics experiments, interactive programming and a well-stocked, if expensive, gift shop. My only critique is the museum coffee shop, which has museum-level prices but far from museum-quality coffee.

We actually came for Gustav's Klimt exhibition (that was absolutely stunning btw) and after we continued for the rest of Madatech's exhibitions and it was amazing! So the store at the "Fool Me" exhibition sure "fooled" me. This lego "set" (if we can call it that) cost 140 NIS. The store assistant and I were both convinced there would be more Lego parts than was displayed in the tiny plastic display box (considering the price). Imagine my child's frustration - and mine - when we pulled out a pile of cardboard instead of the more parts we expected. Now we are the proud owners of "over 100 quick builds, activities and challenges" booklet without the parts to actually build them... Otherwise, the visit to the museum was actually pretty great.

Awful, scary, unwelcoming, disgraceful place. Now I have left Israel I can say that tourists are certainly not welcome, the authorities only wanted Israeli citizens off the ship. When we eventually did disembark we were met with one obstacle after another, no one knew what they were doing, so much so that we abandoned our attempt to go on land we returned to the ship to be told that the Israelis had made a mistake and we could go back through NO THANK YOU.

Haifa port is the largest and most dynamic of the 3 Israeli international ports. The approach to Israel by boat through the Mediterranean Sea features many great views. Great experience, traveling with a ship from Haifa- Akko- Haifa. The trip is for 2 hours, one hour to Akko from Haifa and another hour from Akko to Haifa port. Itsthe firdt time, and i liked verry much. A recomandation from me its that you need to take some food with you, snacks and water. The cost of this travel is 55 nis in both directions.

Hof Dadu (Dadu Beach) is one of the most beautiful beaches not only in Israel, but in the world to.. It was not once rewarded by different international sings, flags, etc. It is really very comfortable place, where you can lie in sun (оn the sand or on the grass), visit many cafes and restaurants. In swimming season there are always lifeguards working and controlling the situation. There are also many lavatories, showers and places for personal hygiene. Some cafe-owners give free deck chairs to anyone. Not far from the beach is situated the Bus Station.

Quiet, and special place for christians. It closes at noon and inside there was renovation going on so I could only see the alter. Not much to see as an attraction but it was meaningful to visit and there is a beautiful (but locked) holy family chapel nearby (quite a climbing 🧗‍♀️up back after visiting). The unexpected joy is the view. The ocean and big ships 🚢 and the city view are all stunning.

Technically, the monastery is out of bounds to visitors. It would be more accurate to reference the church as a separate location apart from the monastery, as Stella Maris Church or Minor Basilica. Visitors/pilgrims are also requested not to visit during the times when Holy Mass is being celebrated, unless they intend to stay for the whole duration. This is especially so on Sundays when there are Masses at 8 am (in Arabic) and 9 am (in English).

The Stella Maris Church is a beautiful structure, its interior walls covered with white marble panels so bright and well placed, that visitors sometimes think the walls have been painted. The dome, decorated by the Maltese Carmelite Luigi Poggi (1924-1928), depicts episodes from the Bible, the most distinct being the scene of Prophet Elijah ascending to Heaven in a chariot of fire. The statue of the Virgin Mary placed at the center of the main altar, standing on a pedestal carved from a cedar of Lebanon, is devoutly venerated by the local Christians.

Nice little chapel with magnificent art on the walls and on the ceilings. The monastery itself cannot be visitied (by normal visitors/tourist). The view over the bay of Haifa is astonishing (you can see as far as Lebanon if the weather is good) and worth a trip even if you are not interested in chapels.

We took the cable car to the monastery. Bring that I’m not of that faith, may be why I wasn’t be very impressed. However, I’ve been to many churches in Israel and there are much better places with significant religious meaning to visit in Israel. This was a small church with a little alcove. You only need about 2 minutes inside to see it. It is an active church so you must be quiet while inside.

Great zoo for visiting with children. Great alternative if you do not want to travel to the country's center. Not so big but not small at the same time. There is a park and playground for children close to the zoo entrance. Cons there is no good parking close to the zoo. At least I did not find it.

Love this zoo. Not too big, in about 2 hours of slow walking you can see all the animals. I usually don't like zoos because the animals always look sad and they are kept in small cages but this zoo I am happy to visit any time. There are many toilets inside. The only thing I didn't like is the suggested route is not clear, you need to double check at every turn if you missed something or not. Don't miss the white tiger, he is stunning.

This is both a wildlife zoo and a prehistoric museum. Very interesting and appears well kept. The prehistoric museum hosts a detailed exhibit on submerged prehistoric sites uncovered by underwater archaeologists. The wildlife section of this zoo hosts a myriad assortment of exotic species all well worth taking time to visit.

This zoo is on the mountain side, there are some quite serious hills to climb at times. So be prepared for that. I suggest buying tickets through some coupon site like groo (groupon). I like this zoo because I've known it since my childhood. There are many animals. The variety of animals is changing from time to time. There is a nice place with snacks and ice creams to take a break. There is a small museum of prehistoric man. I give it a 4 because the cages of the animals are often small. And some of them are alone without partners. Also last time I went (january 2023) there were some places under construction.

Nice ace to visit. We did the green route in about 1 hour. The route markers are not great and good footware is essential the suspension bridges are good fun and they don't sway. You can do a short 15 minute walk just to the suspension bridges if you are short of time.

It's a very beautiful park with small trail with two hanging bridges. Beautiful but more suitable for children. Such an easy trail . It was an amazing ride from the beautiful beach up to the Mount Carmel. Not cheap (one way: NIS 19, round-trip: NIS 28) but very spectacular. At the bottom of the cable cars, across the highway, is a slew of interesting sites including the Clandestine Immigration & Navy Museum. The small cabins are like three oranges. 👍

The moment in between stations is a pure joy. The one we experienced in childhood. Totally worth trying. Upper station gives possibility to observe the marvelous coastal view. Stella Maris church is round the corner, so by trying funicular you have a real short excursion.

The Carmel National Park is a large area right outside of Haifa with many hiking trails, natural springs, archaeological sites, and amazing areas where you can easily see wildlife. Much of the Carmel is defined as a national park and historically there has been little settlement on the mountain. Lots of hiking trails through the woods. Beautiful hike down the Carmel mountains. A medium to hard trail with ups and downs. Local vendors were very friendly and knowledgeable. The so called Little Switzerland is amazing in spring: full of wild flowers and therefore full of colors and smells and after some rain, even a small water stream with creeks. And many paths to follow...

We were here on 13/02/21, near the Carmelites' monastery. The nature is truly beautiful, as everywhere in the North of Israel. What's frustrating is the crazy crouds of people flowing in here after the lockdown ban has been lifted... So I guess come and visit the nature reserves on the week days, not on the weekend!)

Fabulous views of northern Israel from the rooftop. The statute of Elijah was nice, but much smaller than I expected. The pictures I saw made me think it was 20 feet tall. Its probably closer to 4 or 5ft. The area surrounding the statute has a pretty little garden with places to sit and spend time relaxing. It was a group bus tour and unfortunately we ran out of time and could not go in the church.

Very nice hiking zone. Not too hard so many people can do it. Has few different paths and on the way you can enter a cave where a prehistoric drawings are shown on the cave walls. Theres a large population of bats there as well. From what i saw small children can hike there as well.

Gorgeous view to Haifa. And beautiful sculptures. Each figure is in motion and looks alive.Also fresh air and very quiet place.The garden is not so big,but has a lot of sculptures. Very interesting way to put sculptures. Some of them are hidden away,and you see them in unexpected places. You could sit at the bench and enjoy the view and the piecefullness of that place.

Not much to see but if you finished the bahai tour, you might as well just walk a little to see the place. Lots of bench you can rest on and the good thing ia, most are shaded. I was walking along the road when I suddenly encountered this little garden of wonders! The statues and garden are well kept and offer a great sidetracking experience! The statues themselves repeat themselves in theme,yet, their positioning make them spread enough to make each have it's own little story to tell. The visuals are rather mundane, nothing beyond the commonlike feel to it, but, that's the charm of it. Yet, it is a nice place for a casual hangout, and a wonderful place for first time visitors. There are water fountains and benches for the benefit of those that come around for a stop.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. 35 NIS for 2 rooms (one room was fully occupied with 15-20 children sitting all over the floor). 1 room was a video, another- 10 photos. That’s it. No one has warned us that it is so small, no one provided any info. Seems like a place not worth any visit at all. Cafe is nice but very pricey. Museum shop is nice too but they are free.

Pretty boring unfortunately. There was no interesting art.. there were pictures that someone took from a Japanese artist (according to the guide without his permission, was no regulation at the time she said) and printed over it pictures of streets from Jerusalem - in my opinion it is not ethical or legal or artistic to do so. There was one interesting station where a Japanese artist actually painted numbers on the bodies of Japanese people, which is rare in terms of Japanese culture to show intimacy in public. Beyond that.. I didn't see anything interesting.

Amazing museum, very interesting and special. It's little and cozy. The atmosphere is fascinating and so the exhibitions. The place is very silent and you can really enjoy the tour. I was there on Saturday and the entrance was free.

Great museum! Usually the exhibitions there connected to Japanese culture and history. It has big collection of netsuke (not every time demonstrated). Guided tours for public held on Saturdays morning (Hebrew, Russian and really seldom in English). Guided tour is included in entrance fee. They also have workshops for children and adults:)

The museum collection is mainly consist pictures of the Japanese beating the Chinese army and little bit about the fight with the Russian army. We expected to see more stuff related to the Japanese culture itself and not only about specific wars. Also the air conditioning at the place is pretty weak. The coffee at the second level was nice but expensive.

The museum in its current curration and situation SHOULD NOT EXIST. It's very purely curated. The indoors part is tiny, gives not clear indication of the purpose of the juseum, it's not organized in any specific, just some ship models scattered around, some with very basic info some without, there are couple of short tests here and around. The outdoor part has lots of retired small boats and 2 vessels that you can go into, that was one of the only things that the museum has to offer that's worth sseing, but again, don't expect to any information. If you know nothing about ships, it won't change after your visit.

The museum artifacts are well labeled in English. The short film was worthwhile. There are restrooms. NOTE: The entrance was hard to find. It's actually just right after the overpass and bus stop, in a courtyard. However, there is no parking at the entrance. Instead, continue past the entrance 100 meters to the area just before the street that splits off to the right. This is next to the rotating one-way exit gate. When you exit, you'll be back at your car.

One of the largest outdoor exhibits was closed for our visit, I was disappointed to miss a large part of the immigration content. The boats that were accessible were neat (super hot in the summer though). Very interesting information on how the Navy was started, cool artifacts and models to see inside, an excellent history video to pull the Museum's name together so it makes sense. My kids 5, 7, and 9 really enjoyed.

Small but well-arranged museum. The main body is a naval vessel surrounded by halls. If you are interested in the history of Jewish (illegal) immigration in the early 20th century, this is a good place to know. All the exhibits are related to historical events, which shows the Jewish strong will in immigration to this land. There is a submarine visitors can go inside.

Beautifully quaint artists village, pedestrian only so you'll need to park in one of the free car parks below and walk up. Most places were closed when we went, and we were advised to plan our visit next time, but we were just passing through anyway and really enjoyed the many sculptures and ambience here. This "artist" village was Ein Hud, a one of the most beautiful Palestinian villages, which was stolen, literally, by the israeli forces. once they kicked the owners of the houses there, they didn't bother demolishing the houses. instead, they took them and claimed them as their own. the houses of this village belong to Palestinians who have been forced out and left homeless in 1948

Quite place with unique artist atmosphere. Very simple and inviting. If you are planning a small trip to the north it’s one of the spots that you need to stop. There are open artist houses with small galleries , shops. Few restaurants and kids selling lemonade on the street :)) Also close to Carmel maintains. Good to visit together.
