An amazing experience, a must visit place if you like sculptures and history. A place Ted Mosby and Ross Geller would approve as it is a mix of architecture brilliance and Archeology. It's better to get a guide if you want to know the relevance of each room and Mahal. Unfortunately I didn't take one and my target was to explore the full place. I suggest you to take one full day to explore this place, reach the fort by 8:30 in the morning and climb up. Once you finish the fort, you can visit the Temples nearby Sas Bahu and Teli temple. Both stand tall for the architectural brilliance. The only reason am not giving a 5 star for this place is because it is not maintained well, they could have helped people visiting the place much better. I don't know why they don't get the importance of tourism. People writing their names on the wall ( the wall that stood against many invasion), throwing rubbish here and there and very badly maintained ponds take away that perfect experience of the place. Don't forget to see the oldest zero mentioned in script at this place in chaturbhuj temple.

The Gwalior fort I must say I am overwhelmed and stunned by the beauty of this beautiful place. My recent visit to Gwalior would always be memorable because of this unimaginable visit to fort. I would say you can’t get enough of this place once you would reach there. This place is actually the crown of this beautiful city. I still don’t understand why this place is so underrated. So you can visit this place by your own vehicle which is allowed till the top and autos or other public transport is allowed only till main entrance. If you love tracking and exploring places please chose to track till top I must say you won’t regret it. Start early in the morning and have snacks and eatables to enjoy your day. The tickets are too nominal like 10 and 25 rs once you reach on the top you would get a breathtaking view of the whole city. One can even plan their pre wedding shoots to this place. I was stunned to see the architect and engineering used. The historical background of this place is really vast. There were multiple rulers who ruled this place. And one can have a good taste of rich cultural and historical heritage.

A beautiful structure with a very rich history. We went by the drive-up route which was gorgeous. There is another route to walk up which is a 20-minute trek. One can get a glimpse of different architecture styles here of its different conquerors.

Must visit. It covers a huge area. Its beautiful (although not maintained),especially the Man Singh palace has a lot to explore. But I would recommend, must go in a group of 4-6 people, as there are very less security gaurds inside. We were just 2 friends and realized this.

The main palace has nothing extraordinary. I'm giving it four stars because there are more places to see other than the palace. They have a beautiful gurudwara up there, two temples, and an amazing view of the gwalior city from the top that you shouldn't miss.

Gwalior fort is very nice place to visit but only visit when you are interested in Indian history . Good to have guide with you. If you can walk for 2km then only visit gwalior form. Ticket cost you approx 100rs .visiting with child's are not preferable.

I've no words to describe this place it's way more beautiful than it looks in these pictures of you are in Gwalior you should definitely visit the fort you'll need only 2 hrs to completely explore the fort but if you want to enjoy more you should visit in evening at 4 to enjoy the light and sound show as well.

This is one of the best places to visit in Gwalior. This ancient fort has great historical values and needs your time to understand. Situated at the centre of the city so reaching here is very easy. I would say to come via own vehicle or book a van. The sunset is so soothing and a great place for children. A must visit tourist place.

Hiring a guide is a must as with historical timelines, the experience gets better and you feel more connected to the fort and its rich history. It will take approx 2-2.5 hours to complete the visit of all the nearby attractions along with the fort

Nice place for Trek. Challenging upward slope. You can view the city on your right side. Need atleast 3-4 hrs to fully go through this place. Each and every place here is worth visit. 25rs entry ticket to enter each place here. While returning it would be fun as you can cover whole distance in just 2-3 minutes if you run. But be careful while running, if you slip, you could get roll over till the end.

Nice place ... It has its own value and importance in MP history. It's maintained and carefully preserved . Well cleaned and well fenced. Main attraction is the laser light show . But honestly I am saying due to time issues I couldn't attend that show. One can go by walk or E-vehivke or Auto is also available. Really it's amazing to see the whole gwalior from the top of the Fort.

Such a serene place.. In the middle of mountains.. Beautifully carved 11 century twin temples...Really a visual treat.. The area is not so big.. It will take around one hour or even less to explore.. Good place for photography 😊. A less explored area, very few visitors..But a must visit if you are visiting Udaipur.. Around 26 kms from Udaipur.. You can take a taxi to reach there.. You may also go to famous eklingji temple very close to this place.. We started from Udaipur at around 9 am and completed both the points before lunch..

A wonderful temple and there were less tourists there too. It is a nice visit on the way from Udaipur to Jodhpur. There is so much greenery around and a lake beside it as well. The architecture is stunning! Intricate carvings adorn the temples inside and out. There are some of the smaller temples missing though but the larger ones remain. There is also a working and clean washroom just outside the main gates - bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer as there is no soap.

During our trip to Udaipur, our driver suggested to visit this temple enroute Eklingji temple. Located in an isolated place, in the backdrop of a lake with hills in the background, this temple is an architectural marvel. We were mesmerized by the finesse and detailing of the architecture. There is an interesting folklore which led to this temple being call SaasBahu temple, similar to its correct name SahastraBahu temple. It is a paradise for those who are interested in clicking and getting clicked. There are as many angles and poses as one can imagine to satiate their photography desires. We spent more than an hour here, marveling at the beauty of the temple and the surrounding landscape, clicking pics and just sitting and getting lost in its aura. It seems the place is not much promoted as it doesn't lists in places to visit in and around Udaipur in online portals and youtube. But for us it was one of the most satisfying experience. There were hardly any tourists, just few local college boys and girls and couple of foreign and Indian tourists. But good for us as we had the full place for ourselves :D You might get disappointed if you visit here for religious reasons as its not a proper functioning temple. But do visit for its architecture, beauty and soulfulness.

Visited Gurudwara Data Bandi chor Sahib during Nov 2019 , situated in Gwalior associated with the imprisonment of Guru Har Govind sahib 6th Nanak Guru in Gwalior Fort and his celebrated release in 1619, with the 52 rajas ( Kings), which has been imprisoned.It's been constructed in white Marble, with lavish green garden encircled with multi colour beautiful Bougainville plants, having 2 sarovars for tadies & gents seperately, There is Guru ka langar vast dining hall. This is best rated for cleanliness. It's sacred place for Sikhs, pilgrims from all over the country & other parts of world visit during October November to pay homage to Guru Har Govind sahib. It's the must visit place.

Gurudwara is situated on the hillock of Gwalior fort. Very beautiful and peaceful place. Entry is free.Cleanliness is maintained well.Temple has dress code. You will not be permitted with shorts, capris. They also kept few full pants which can be used. Everyone must close the hair with the handkerchief which is also available outside. Photography was restricted. They also serve Langar - the prasad. If possible you can do small services like helping them to clean vessels. You can donate how much ever possible. Clean bathrooms and they also do medical services for the local. Outside few shops available for shopping small craft items.

This is a fantastic place to go to if you are looking to spend some peaceful downtime. The place is serene, calm, and offers an inner peace when you spend time within this temple. Like many Gurudwara's out there, this place also offers a warm place to stay, food to eat amongst many other things for no cost. However, you are free to donate as much money as you like. This Gurudwara is very beautiful rich in architecture and peaceful like all other sikh shrine places. Located around 8-10 minutes from Gwalior Fort you can say it's inside the Gwalior Fort premises. Whenever you go to visit Gwalior fort don't forget to visit the Gurudwara Data Bandi Chorr you will really enjoy the calmness of this place. Some areas are restricted for photography and videography please obey the rules to entering inside the Gurudwara and enjoy your visit.

GURUDWARA SHRI DATA BANDI CHOD SAHIB, is situated in the Gwalior in the hill top Fort Gwalior. Sikh Guru Hargoibind Singh Ji was imprisoned in the Gwalior Fort along with 52 Rajputs. He prayed there for several years. On the Diwali festival he was released but he brought with him all the Rajputs. They held on to his riobe and came out. From that day onwards GURU SAHIB was also known as Data Bandi Chod Sahib. On Diwali there is a major festival held here and as such many Sikh devotees and tourists come here thorough out the year. Best time is to go from September to March

This Gurudwara 🤩located inside d Gwalior Fort complex 🏛️ which was built ⚒️during 1970 & 1980 at d place where 6th Sikh Guru Hargobind Sahib was arrested & held captive by ☪️Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1609 at d age of 14 yrs on d pretext tht d fine imposed on his father,😱 5th Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji had not been paid by d Sikhs & Guru Hargobind😇. According to Surjit Singh Gandhi, 52 Hindu Rajas who were imprisoned in d 🏛️fort as hostages for "millions of rupees" & fr opposing d 👑Mughal empire were dismayed as they were losing a spiritual mentor. On getting released Guru Hargobind requested d 👑Rajas to be freed along with him as well as Jahangir allowed Guru Hargobind to free as many rajas he could as long as they are holding on to d guru while leaving d prison.😱 Guru sahib got a special gown stitched which had 52 hems. As Guru Hargobind left d fort, all captive👑 kings caught d hems of d cloak & came out along with him. Surrounding area 😍 r so peaceful & quite beautiful becoz of various flowering plants🌼🍂🌿🌸.This Gurudwara hv Langar khana & parking 🅿️ facility, drinking 🚰 water, toilet facility 🚽. Divine, as I usually quote to all the religious places. This is well built and equally well maintained. There is never any chaos regardless of number of people visiting here. They all will come one by one to mark their presence and visit the main Gurudwara building which is of historic importance to the followers of Guru Nanak or Sikhs. Staff here is good they will teach the new comers, how to maintain the decorum of the place. Free kitchen or free food aka Langar is available. This is a must visit place. Google is asking if there is any need to buy tickets? Actually there is no need to buy ANY ticket ever while visiting the Sikh Gurudwaras or Place of worship for Sikhs. This is irrelevant question.

I am lucky because a very kind Sikh gentleman let me into this area that is closed at night and this view was the highlight of the trip. Plus I witnessed a fruit bat 🦇 flying around the water😍 Now unless you have a very charming Indian boyfriend with you, I would however recommend visiting during the day if you do want to see this view.

Although, the entrance is free, the baffling part about this place is that there is no phone or camera allowed. Why such a ridiculous decision was taken at a spot which is already struggling to attract tourists is beyond me. The architecture is a sight to behold. It is a good temple to visit in gwalior, it's peaceful and well maintained surroundings. Outside car parking is free of cost. You can find a place and park your car. There is no entry fees. There is a food shop also you can eat patty and sandwich. It tastes good. Shopkeeper is also very helpful. Visit here before you go to fort if you have plan in noon. It stays open till 5 or 6 pm.

First time I'd visited any Sun Temple. So the experience cannot be expressed in the words. We reached there at around 1230p.m. and it was the lunch time for the staff (12pm to 1pm). So one should avoid going there between that time as there was no place to wait outside the temple and no other place nearby to visit. And the most important thing: If you're planning to take selfies there, then forget it. You've to deposit your phone at the main entrance (they keep it safe and the service is free of cost). The aura of the temple was awesome!!!!!!

Surya temple is a distant city temple, worth to see 🌞 I liked the garden around and simple temple size, with good proportions I didn’t liked screenings of the stuff on you, there are no signs for chapel or shoo place. Also you feel like a bit on “Guantanamo” field Stuff watching you focus fully 😊

The serene experience of this place was completely destroyed by the constant nagging of the guards here. I was with my cousins and we respected the calmness of this temple and we followed all the rules properly. However, the guards did not let us even stand or sit for even 10 seconds inside the premises. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore. The entire visit was for barely 5 minutes. If I want to sit in nature and in the abode of a god, I would prefer any place but this.

Arcticture is really wonderful. You will enjoy visiting here. Mobile phones not allowed inside temple premises. But one can deposit it at gate before entering frisking point

It was so beautiful, the environment is so peaceful here, I visited it with my family, they all like it, specially my mother liked it so much ,the nature's vibe was so good, I was gone in the afternoon but I surely want to visit it again in the evening time.

This is an amazing place to go if you are in the city. The View is absolutely serene and you will have great time here. The only negative point here is that you can't take mobiles or basically there is no photography allowed here. But overall it's beautiful. So Recommended.

Teli ka Mandir is a beautiful temple with amazing and detailed architecture. Unfortunately the it is not well maintained the surroundings are also not very clean. Inside the temple there is foul smell of bat poop. I would recommend to visit the temple for the architecture.

This temple gets its name from the fact that it was funded by merchants who traded in oil during the ancient times. The architecture is beautiful on the outside. However, it is not at all maintained on the inside as there is a foul smell of urine emanating from the interiors. A pretty sad deal breaker to an otherwise beautiful temple.

You can get a tuk tuk from Gwalior Fort here and it is well worth it. Besides the fort, this was probably my favourite place to see. However, my experience was ruined by a bunch of guys taking photos of me without my permission.

Lovely temple with huge structure built using sandstone. Though the walls of the temple do not find lots of sculptures but there are some present on its outer walls. Some of the sculptures are found towards the very top. Shikhara of this temple is tall n huge and beautiful giving it a very different look. Built in northern style of architecture this is not maintained very well. It is under ASI now and you can see a garden maintained here however you rarely find tourists here. This temple is said to have been built around 10th century. Definitely a recommended option. We should visit this temple if we are in Gwalior fort.

It's one of those Templez which has got architectural design philophy of both North Indian and Dravidian style. It looks very massive. It's almost 15 mins walk from Gwalior fort. You can avail local electric rickshaw (could be costly), or if you have vehicle then there are ample space for parking. The sculptures on the temple are very beautiful and you can see how skillful the sculptures were. You won't find that much of crowd here but to get some good photos try visiting in the evening. The ticket bought at Main entrance of Gwalior fort works here to so no need to pay separately. I am sharing some pics from my tour. ENJOY !!!

This temple is a must-see for anyone visiting Gwalior. It's a beautiful example of Dravidian architecture, and the carvings are simply stunning. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this temple.

Teli ka Mandir, or Tel walon ka mandir I'd in the Gwalior fort complex. The ticket you buy for Man mandir palace works here. Good architecture and the back of the temple has original dravidian carvings as front side is mostly reconstructed due to defacing the sculptures. I didn't go inside the mandir as it was manifested with bats and unbearable smell.

It is said that the temple was built during the rule of king Mihir Bhoj, in 8-9 AD, by the money of oil merchants. Structure is solid, looks good from outside, but inside it is very smelly now. It is said that the temple is of lord Shiva and Vishnu G, but no idol inside. In the compound there is a chatri also to see. Its a very tall temple too.

The Gopachal rock-cut Jain monuments, also called Gopachal Parvat Jaina monuments, are a group of Jain rock-cut carvings dated to between the 7th and 15th centuries. The Gopachal rock-cut monuments depict the Tirthankaras in seated or standing meditating positions. They are not as colossal as some of those found in the Siddhachal Caves, but they are big. The monuments include standing and seated Shri Rishabhanatha (Adinatha), Neminatha, Parshvanatha and Shri Mahavirasvami. The Gopachal rock-cut monuments are a part of nearly 100 Jain monuments found in and around the Gwalior city, but these are dated earlier than the Siddhachal Caves located about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) north of these monuments. Both monuments were defaced and desecrated around 1527 when the Emperor Babur ordered their destruction. "In 1527, the Urvahi Jinas were mutilated by the Mughal emperor Babar, a fact he records in his memoirs".Centuries later, the Jain community restored many of the statues by adding back stucco heads on the top of the damaged idols.

If you are looking for a short trek which is serene and simple, super clean and full of nature, with historical landmarks, and breath of fresh air, then this place is for you. You won't be allowed slippers/shoes inside (not good in scorching summers). You also are not supposed to eat here. So be prepared for that. This place is religious and is not for picnics! Be vigilant of the language you use here. Preferred by families rather than groups/friends.

Best place as a Jain cave. Under supervision of ASI. The Jain temple encroachment at the base is illegal and they misguide people who come to visit Gopachal Parvat. There is no need of removal of shoes/ chappals to visit this ASI protected site. But the encroachers make tourists to do so. Itakes painful for everybody especially for elders to climb the rough stairs with naked feet. The shrines are not worshipped here but they are magnificent to see.

A very short Trek of 1 km, even my mother did it without any trouble. But the view and what humans achieved with their hands both in creating is just amazing. Also an example of how evil forces didn't even leave destruction of such religious monuments.

It's a beautiful archeological site ! Before going to caves at the start point, there is a jain community hall they forced us to remove our shoes and go ahead barefoot . But after reaching the cave, there is Government appointed gaurd who told us it's not necessary to come barefoot as it comes under ASI and not under any religious community, so it's a personal call to follow or unfollow this rule. As per my experience, if you are coming as tourists to enjoy archeological beauty, don't go barefoot.

If you visit Gwalior must visit Gopachal Parvat. It will connect you with history & richness of Jainism. Would highly recommend this place.

I will start with basic things you need to know before going there. Ticket price- ₹ 20 No waiting time. Bring bottle of water. You will need minimum 1 hour to watch all items displayed in the museum and it can go upto 2 hours or more depending on your interest. Star of the museum is Shalabhanjika, which is Monalisa of sculptures. She has got a mysterious smile too. And you have to ask and take permission to watch it. About the museum, first of all Gujari Mahal is more than 500 years old building having its own beautiful history. It contains lots of historical items ranging from coins, statues, paintings, murals, musical instruments, inscriptions and many more. Some of them are more than 2000 years old and give rich historical details of Gwalior and near by area. Now coming to negatives or things which can be improved. In description of many sculptures i see a very common thing, that is about the place of finding. Where they just mentioned unknown. Second things is that, very less information is provided for every thing. For common man some basic knowledge can be a great source to create interest in history.

Gujari Mahal was built during the period 1486 to 1516 AD by Tomar King Maan Singh for his beloved Gujar Queen, who was later known as Mrignayani

This palace was built by Tomar Rajput ruler Man Singh Tomar for his wife Mrignayani who belonged to Gujjar tribe. She demanded a separate palace for herself as she does not do Parda. Now this place is a museum with a very rare Hindu and Jain sculptures from 1AD. In the center there is a basement, where you can see variety of music instruments.

Not well maintained. The ticket price is being wasted by MP tourism. The people were not serious in looking after the sculptures. It felt as if the sculptures were fake.

Some gems are lost in time and we hardly know about their existence- this palace and it’s story is one such tale. Built by Raja Man Singh Tomar for his 9th wife, this is a beautiful palace that once thrived and is now a museum which houses sculptures from in and around Gwalior dating back 5th century to 10th to 17th century. Their are 28 rooms in the palace which are now converted into museum galleries and offices of ASI workers. Basement is converted into a music library and it once was an armour store. Situated at the base of the Gwalior fort, one should visit this to understand our rich culture a little more. The sculptures here are majorly from hindu scriptures. You find lots of peacocks around this palace and they even come down to feed around here in the mornings and evenings. Definitely a recommended place

This is a palace located in Gwalior. This palace was built by Raja Mansing Tomar for his beloved wife Mrignayani. This palace is now turned into a museum where sculptures,artifacts, archeological objects and musical instruments etc found in this region have been preserved. The palace itself is an architectural wonder with a basement where old musical instruments are kept for public viewing. The architecture of the Mahal is a mixer of Hindu and Islamic style. Shalabhanjika , a statue cut in a single stone is the main attraction and prized possession.This is kept under tight security in a bullet proof room and insured. The sculpture of Shalabhanjika is compared with Monalisa due to the mysterious smile on its lips. Entry fee is Rs 20/head. No parking available. The Mahal is placed on a small hillock. One need to climb a few stiff stairs . One hour is needed to complete viewing the Museum.

A small museum of statues and sculptures found across the Gwalior region but is very interesting. The place in itself where the museum is located is historical and was built by Mansingh Tomar for his 9th wife. The place hold more importance because of the technique used to bring water from a distant village to this place using mud pipes in those times. The remains of this pipe can still be seen in the basement. Last but not the least, the legendary Shalbhanjika sculpture is kept here in the curators office. Enquire with staff who are also ready to guide and show you the museum in detail. Entry fee is rs.20.

Patriotic Place It is a small park where there is a memorial in the form of a statue of Maharani Lakshmi Bai on horseback. An ETERNAL FLAME Burns just next to the statue as a TRIBUTE to one of our country's GREATEST FREEDOM FIGHTERS. Nothing much to see here other than what the name suggests -- a memorial to the brave queen Rani Lakshmibai. Features a statue of her astride her horse. A walkway (with benches) runs around the memorial, with a little garden opening out on one side, where one can sit and relax. Popularly known as Jhansi Ki Rani Maharani Laxmibai’s samadhi sthal is one of the most visited places of Gwalior city. It is situated in the heart of the city. This historical place has been developed into a beautiful park with a large statue of Rani Laxmibai sitting on horseback. Brief description about the life of Rani Laxmibai has been displayed in the park. Wall murals showing the bravery of the Rani are great to watch.The samadhi sthal definitely reminds the visitors about the bravery and courage of Rani Laxmibai who fought the British fearlessly. The park is a good place to sit and relax in the noisy surroundings of the city. A must visit place for school students and youths. Parking is available and entrance is wheelchair accessible. The park is maintained and looked after by ASI. My salute to one of the great freedom fighters of India.

This is the " Samadhi " of Lakshmibai, the Rani of Jhansi (19 November 1828 — 18 June 1858),was an Indian queen, the Maharani consort of the maratha princely state of Jhansi from 1843 to 1853 She was one of the leading figures of the india and became a symbol of resistance to the British raj for Indian nationalists. She died from wounds received in a battle on 18 June 1858. The rebellion was suppressed by the British forces in November of that year.

The samadhi sthal of Rani Laxmi Bai is situated in Gwalior. The place is dedicated to the brave queen of Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai. Rani Laxmi Bai was among the bravest freedom fighters of India 🇮🇳. She sacrificed herself in the very young age of 23 to free her country from British rule. This place is one of the major attraction in Gwalior. Here we can see a stunning statue of Queen which is 8 meters in height and made up of metal. The samadhi Sthal of Veeragana is a very good place for students and kids to know the history of country and also the life and struggle of Queen. Every year in the month of June a fair is conducted in the memory and honour of Queen. The place is located in the centre of city and well connected from other places.

Tomb of Mohammad Ghaus, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India Muhammad Ghaus (or Ghawth) was a 16th c Sufi saint and teacher of the Mughal emperor Humayun as well as Tansen, the famous musician in Akbar’s court. The saint’s large tomb, built in the second half of the 16th c during Akbar’s rule, is the main structure in the garden complex located about a kilometer away from Gwalior Fort’s main eastern approach, and is surrounded by graves and smaller pavilion tombs, including that of Tansen.

Tricky to find the entrance which is down a side alley off a bustling 'market' Street. Once you enter the grounds, peace descends. Beautiful building, worth walking around the corridor that runs around the outside of the central prayer room.

The tomb looks so nice and astheticlly beautiful. And environment here is also so nice. And one must come here to spend quality time here. With freinds and family. But some people do not care about this beautiful place as they sit on tombs as well as week parts of the structure. Which should be not done. And this should be looked by the athorities.

Tomb of Sufi Saint from 16th Century built by Akbar. One of the best Sandstone Jali works I have seen in any of the Monuments. The outdoor gardens are very well landscaped. This Monument is right in the centre of Bazaar area and hence it is better to visit early morning before Market starts or go by rickshaw or walk. No parking available at site. Public Utilities available. Site is very well maintained. Their are some more graves of his family members outside the tomb. Worth a visit.

Underrated place that can only be accessed via 1 way through main road with a narrow lane connecting this place to it. Tomb of Mohammad Ghaus, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India Muhammad Ghaus (or Ghawth) was a 16th c Sufi saint and teacher of the Mughal emperor Humayun as well as Tansen, the famous musician in Akbar’s court. The saint’s large tomb, built in the second half of the 16th c during Akbar’s rule, is the main structure in the garden complex located about a kilometer away from Gwalior Fort’s main eastern approach, and is surrounded by graves and smaller pavilion tombs, including that of Tansen.

D structure of this tomb is typical 🤩Mughal architecture with hexagonal pillars stand at each of its 4 corners. D building is ⬜square in plan & topped by a square dome decorated with blue ceramic tiles. It has🤔 hexagonal domed kiosks at its corners together with sloping eaves tht project frm exterior. 🖼️D tomb walls feature intricate carvings & latticework. At it's surrounding there is big ground to sit & enjoy d pleasant moment🤩 with beautiful flowering🌼🍁🌺 plants. U can also see many🕊️ pegion eating bird foods & 🐿️ squirrel also. Tricky to find the entrance which is down a side alley off a bustling 'market' Street. Once you enter the grounds, peace descends. Beautiful building, worth walking around the corridor that runs around the outside of the central prayer room.

The tomb looks so nice and astheticlly beautiful. And environment here is also so nice. And one must come here to spend quality time here. With freinds and family. But some people do not care about this beautiful place as they sit on tombs as well as week parts of the structure. Which should be not done. And this should be looked by the athorities.

Tomb of Sufi Saint from 16th Century built by Akbar. One of the best Sandstone Jali works I have seen in any of the Monuments. The outdoor gardens are very well landscaped. This Monument is right in the centre of Bazaar area and hence it is better to visit early morning before Market starts or go by rickshaw or walk. No parking available at site. Public Utilities available. Site is very well maintained. Their are some more graves of his family members outside the tomb. Worth a visit.

It would be great place if there were cleanliness and proper maintenance. But overall it's a good place to spend time with family by surfing, boating. Here you'll see the natural beauty of mountains.

1916 Tigra Dam (also spelled "Tig Dam") creates a freshwater reservoir on the Sank River, about 23 km from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India[1] It plays a crucial role in supplying water to the city and is an important tourism spot of Gwalior.A dam constructed on this site in 1915 failed on the afternoon of 19 August 1917, due to infiltration into its sandstone foundations. About 1000 people were killed downstream.[3] A subsequent structure failed in 1970 Tigra Dam has been constructed on Sank River in 1916. This dam has been constructed in the vicinity of eleven villages. The villagers depend on this dam for their irrigation, drinking and domestic purpose. Moreover, the dam also provides the water required for the drinking purpose in the Gwalior City. One of the negative impacts of Tigra dam is that it is constructed in Ghati Goan. After the construction of the dam the area became a suitable habitat for several birds and this area was declared Ghatigaon Wildlife Sanctuary in 1981. However this also led to the relocation of the people that was residing in the surrounding area of the dam. Despite the positive attributes like control of stream regime, prevention of flood, water for irrigation, dams still present negative impacts on the environment. Some of the negative impacts that can be mentioned are water logging, land loss, relocation of people and silt formation.

Nice place to spend some time with nature. Not too far from the city... Roads are good. Not much to do. Only one mpt restaurant is there with limited means. Bring your own stuff.

What a wonderful place, within 15km from the city. Enjoy fresh air, sunset or sunrise away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. How to reach:- If you are outsider like me you can book an Auto rikshaw for around RS 400-600 (up-down) Things to do:- there are various water rides, starting from speed boat to paddle boats, even there is a 8km long ride to a place called magarkund(crocodile habitat) but that ride is little expensive. They provide you proper life jackets. There are some local fishermen they also offer you a boat ride at a very cheap rate but they don't have any life jacket. Foods:- there is a nice restaurant, from snack to meal you will get everything (pure veg)

Very big dam constructed on sank river This place having facility of boating, Boating have different options like if you want self drive then pedal boat is available, if you want for long drive then engine powered high speed boat is available with driver (you can't self drive this boat). small zoo having ducks is also here please note:- Entry fee is applicable you can't carry own food here Spending 3-4 hrs is enough at this place

Good place to visit if u r visiting Gwalior. Took us half day to go and come back to Gwalior. Boating is there, motor boat, peddling boat, manual Chappu boat. Costing is bit high for motor boat. One ride is for 600 for 4 person for 3.5 minute. Otherwise all good. There is no restaurant or shop to buy anything to eat. A village is there so one can get chips and other things. Not much crowded. We reach there around 11am. There were around 10-20 people only.

Basically Tigra is a reservoir where you can enjoy boating and photo shooting. Nice place for visit.

So here we are! The most popular Dam of Gwalior i.e. Tighra. Frankly, there is nothing to be crazy about. It's too far away, roads are messy and after reaching, the experience is not as great as you would expect. I would recommend to visit only once and that too during opening of dam gates, otherwise it's just a waste of time and petrol.

Hi guys 👦 Welcome back to my new Google review on tighra dam. 1. Distance from DD Nagar to Dam is around 25-30 km depending upon the route you choose. 2. Dam is good but not upto the standard which I was earlier assumed. 3. Last 10km part of the road is single sided and broken. 4. Water level was down, this may vary depending upon weather conditions. 5. Boating 🚢 🚣‍♂️ facilities is available but I was not interested because I had already used boating in kullu-manali ❣️ 6. Boating price is mentioned in photo, please refer from there. 7. Suggestions:- This is one of the famous tourist palace of M.P so it should be upto the standard like sukhna lake in chandigarh. Beautiful place to visit with Family. You can pack some food also and have a little picnic here. Be careful with the monkeys though. And do wear comfortable clothes.

Enjoyable experience and splendid views. Speed boating costs around ₹500 for three people and normal boating costs around ₹50 per head. Closes at sunset. Crocodiles are also seen in some stretches of the lake.

Not a crowded place but you will enjoy boating. You will feel peace. Very good location. The government should spend money on the improvement of Infrastructure and transportation. One can enjoy a picnic with family. There is a small park for kids. You will enjoy the drive while coming from Gwalior to Tighra and vice versa with beautiful scenery on the way.

The main attraction is the water body. A decently good place for a short family half day trip. Had visited latest in April’23. The boats are of decent quality again, really would have appreciated self rowing boats, however the paddle boats serve the purpose. Major drawback is the non availability of any good food stalls or restaurant. If you have to visit the place recommend to get your own food. Avoid visiting during marriage season unless you enjoy watching couples posing for drone videos 😀 Overall a place worth visiting when you have nothing better to do.

Not really worth visiting. The road to this place is not good. Its a narrow two sided road, with lots of potholes. Also, the place is not clean. Boating experience was definitely good, but not worth to go so far for a simple boating experience which many might have enjoyed numerous times at much better places. Google timings says it opens by 9:30. We reached around 9:45 am, it was not open. It opened around 10:30 am. So keep that in mind also,. Better to come in evening if coming at all to enjoy sunset. By the way, the dam gates open only during monsoon season.

Suraj kund in Gwalior is a tank located in Gwalior fort. It is believed to have magical powers. Water from the tank act as a medicinal water that cures chronic diseases. Surroundings of the Suraj Kund are quite attractive and well maintained which encourage the tourist to spend plenty of time.

Beautiful pond on the way to Gurudwara Data Bandi Chhod. There is a Shiv temple in the middle of it.

Ancient place, Mahadev is situated in the middle of kund.. Ancient stories says, kund has holly water.

A good place, with spacious architecture. Have good brands like Woodland, MANN, LIVERPOOL, USPOLO, CANARY LONDON, CLUB99. Have good food joints like Dominoz, Subway, Amul, Some coffee house. Did not notice if it have a game zone for kids. But a good place in total for family outing.

Just like any other mall. One of the two proper malls in Gwalior. It is not too big but caters to the needs of a small city like Gwalior perfectly. Their food court is not very big, but restaurants here are good. They also have several other food stalls across the building serving bakery, chat, ice cream etc. The mall has a decent atmosphere and a lot of young couples and families can be seen here. The entry portion has trampoline and other such stuff for kids. If you're looking out to spend a day with your friends or family in the city itself, it is a decent place to go. It is a good place to bring young kids.

This is a small but well occupied mall. Maximum Shops are occupied. Food court was good. Game zone attracts kids as well as youngsters. For a family all zones are available here. So your visit in DD mall will be a complete trip.

This is a great place for a morning stroll and is one of the famous places in Gwalior to visit. Now let's come to the main point. There is an entry fee for everyone. I paid Rs. 650 for a monthly plan. I once used the washroom; the male washroom door was locked, and the security person told me to use the female washroom. Weird enough, right? The washroom was in quite bad shape. The toilet seats were broken and soiled, and the flush wasn’t working. I was about to vomit, but I held my breath and used the restroom. Imagine that this is one of the popular tourist spots in Gwalior, which also represents the legacy of Scindias. As well, I have seen some people peeing in the open inside the premises. This is an urge to the management: please look into all this. I was born and brought here, but I work outside. But I'm still hopeful things will change for the better!
