Red Square is considered to be the central square of Moscow as Moscow's major streets originate from the square. Red Square, is located beneath the east wall of Kremlin and towards the south end is the Cathedral of St Basil the Blessed. The construction of Red Square was finished by the late 19th century. In 1929, Lenin's Mausoleum was finished. The name Red Square does not have any link to communism or with the colour of many of its buildings. The square is the site of various public ceremonies and proclamations including few coronations for Russia's Tsars. It was also the top spot for high-profile executions such as those of the Cossack rebel Stepan Razin in 1671 and the Streltsy (Peter the Great's mutinous palace guard) in 1698. Red Square is closed to traffic. The Kremlin towers and St Basil's domes, illuminated by floodlights and set against the night sky, create a spectacular panorama.

You must visit Moscow in winter and even in Christmas time. Everywhere is bright. Music is coming from GUM mall. Very fantastic.

The “must go” place when in Moscow. The buildings surrounding the square are historic and beautiful, among others are the St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Kremlin Wall, Lenin’s Mausoleum, the State Historical Museum, GUM shopping complex. It will take a whole day to venture into each of the buildings. Do come at early morning to avoid the crowd. This place is on my bucket list, which I happily ticked off. Alhamdulillaah.

This museum is not at the address informed for three years now!! The correct address is at Vystavochnaya station. This needs to be corrected. It is a nice space, only in Russian.

This is the wrong address and it’s very hard to find this museum. To make a long story short, you need to follow the signs to Vystavochnaya (выставочная) metro station. Right before the gates, you’ll see the museum. If you still can’t find it, show locals this photo and ask them for directions.

As others have explained and we sadly did not read about until to late, it would have saved us an hour in searching, the museum is in the Metro. Good place to see although very limited displays due to not having any space. Recommended on the way it has been created. Very informal and everything is in Russian. Dr Google gets a fail here in directions.

Great little museum dedicated to Moscow's impressive Metro system. Best thing: it's free, worst thing: most of the explications aren't in English. Still, its an interesting and cheap place to visit.

Very hard to find, it's beside one of the Metro stations in Aphimoll mall, go right down to the station entrance, it's on the left. Very little signage in English.

A really beautiful place as on the outside as also on the inside! The Cathedral was build around 1500's. The awesome part is that you can go INSIDE the Cathedral, can get an audio-guide to listen about all the artifacts there, just as take pictures with and without flash! Because it is not an "active" Cathedral - rather a museum- you have to pay for the tickets to get in. The main theme of the Cathedral is obviously Christian Religion. But let me tell you - it is BEAUTIFUL! Knowing that the place is old, that Russian Zars were going there to worship is really amazing! People who go there are tourists, so it is normal to hear English, German, Spanish. The workers are really sweet and nice, always trying to help and navigate you. You can get a lot of cool pictures there!

St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow Visited on 5/10/2019 Any tourist comes to Moscow must not miss visiting St. Basil's Cathedral. It is an Orthodox church in Red Square near the Kremlin. St. Basil's is a cluster of buildings - a central church surrounded by nine auxiliary churches, eight dedicated to Ivan's eight victories over the Tatars. The cathedral’s original colour was said to be white to match the white stone of the Kremlin, while the domes were gold. In the 17th century, the façade and domes began to be painted in multi-colours like what are today. They look very "cute" to say the least. The Red Square is big, but mist of the visitors gather around the section near the St Basil's Cathedral to have a memorable snap shot. The building is now a museum, but my wife's and my nain objective is have close encounter of this unique architecture in the world. I encourage those who can spare more time, do explore the interior and the museum.

It is mainly a church with a very excellent structure. It is more than 200 years old. It a very known tourist spot in moscow. The place is packed with people always. At Christmas they use new decorations at St basil’s cathedral. The red square is really close to it. There are many restaurants near this cathedral. The inside has old arts and paintings.It is near to the most known shopping mall in moscow “gym”.

Absolutely stunning exterior and well preserved interior (and artifacts). About £10 each to get in - you can get a free COVID test at the GUM across the road which allows you to enter as a foreigner. (Top floor of the GUM - you can't miss it). English and also Russian text descriptions of everything.

One of many great cathedrals in Russia. St.Basil's Cathedral is the iconic image of Red Square and rightly so. If you climb the steep stairs to the top of the central tower there is a small Nave. On the day I visited I had the good fortune to see the monks chanting a prayer which everyone stopped to listen to. The chant reverberated round the central dome and sounded magnificent. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

If you wish to enter into the mausoleum, you'll have to endure the queue, especially at this summer period. The park benches are quite welcome for the tired tourist. Also no photography is permitted within Lenin's mausoleum,as a mark of respect. The change of guards is the highlight of any visit.. mesmerizing! The nearby ice cream stands are welcome during the summer heat!

I have never ever experience such an amazing place till now my whole life you have to visit the Kremlin Square if possible once in your lifetime it should & must be a part of your bucket list. It is so peaceful once you have seen & felt this amazing place you will never want to go back but as all good things should never been let apart. The most brilliant thing is the carnival which is held outside of the fort is truly breathtaking no words can define this place I wish I could write more about it this is the real experience which is a must....

Highly recommend the tour of the inside of the Kremlin, where you can visit cathedrals dating back to the 13th century. Great place to be anytime during the day, but especially at night! (I would also advise making a stop at the eternal flame, which honors the loss of soldiers' lives in WWII).

A place full of history, the churches, and gardens are well worth the visit. Its impressive how this place is so well maintained. You can see the cannons left behind by Napoleon. You can also see iconic buildings from Russia's history although the tourist can really only see them from the outside, yet its still very worthwhile.

Must visit. 3 things to see- the bridge while entering the Kremlin, cathedral square, go up the tower, and armoury. If short on money skip the armoury. Washroom is free inside. Small snacks available. They are strict about closing times.

Fantastic experience. We took the opportunity to take a cruise excursion into Moscow on high speed train. We had the most wonderful tour guide who had a great head of knowledge. It was a long day but so worth the money for the trip. Loved every minute of it. Would recommend the trip.

A very big gallery with great artwork (if you're a fan of it). You need at least a couple of hours to see all of it. The ticket is 500 rubbles for adults. But I'd recommend the Shimov gallery. Much more impressive.

A treasure trove of Tretyakov's collection of Russian paintings. Definitely a must visit. If you want to see all the paintings and the biographies of all the painters like Ivanov, Surilov etc, then expect a five hour tour.

What an amazing memorable place when i went in i wasn't sure of the amount of beautiful Art present at this gallery my original plan was to spend couple of hours only but i ended up being mesmerized and deeply lost in the beautiful paintings and lost track of time. Below you can see some of my favorite paintings at the gallery. I would highly recommending this place if you are Art lover like me.

Obviously it was raining and cold when we were waiting in line to get in (we visited Russia in fall). There were a lot of tourists and guide groups inside as it is a famous place. Basically, if you know something about paintings, art, or History - you will find at least one paining you are familiar with. Take a guided group obviously so you know what's where and learn something new and interesting. Some paintings are as old as from 1100's all the way till now modern time.

There are some points which must precisely be considered. 1) It is a MUST to go there in the morning, unless you cannot cover all its parts. 2) You definitely need to have an English map to figure out how the gallery has been organized. 3) Do not miss any part. If you are in short of time or sth else, plan to come again. The gallery is really a dynamic ocean of art.

A fabulous selection of wonderful.pieces by Russian artists. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and gave great explanations that brought the artworks alive. My advice is take the time to enjoy not just file past which is what happens in many places.

Stunning museum featuring all Russian painters! I usually get bored at museums but I found myself absorbed into all the paintings and went to every room here!

It has day off on Monday. They close at 21 but it has a lot of arts in there so if you want to look around all you should visit early for looking all of them. If you visit Moscow then you have to visit here. It will take almost 4-5 hours to look around normally. You should check it. The entrance price 400 ruble as i remember with this price can enjoy the art? There is no reason to not visit here.

A must to visit if you are visiting Moscow! What a great shopping mall is this ! All the expense brands are located here like Rolex, Cartier, Salvatore Ferragano, Hermes, basically all the expensive watch brands etc etc. Maybe a weird advice but also visit the “historic toilet” which looks like a palace toilet! It’s a real USSR shopping mall. Highly recommended to visit!

It is an amazing place with great atmosphere. The shopping experience was great, the variety of the different boutiques makes the shopping experience easier and enjoyable. You have to try their famous ice cream and gelato that can be found all over the mall, the information desk is really helpful they can speak English and are ready to help you. money exchange service is available in the mall. The washrooms are also clean, there is a fee for using the washroom which is a great idea .

The place is at the heart of Red Square. It's good place to visit. Many shops with local and international brands are available with beautiful decorations all around. Not many restaurants are available inside the mall but you can still find a nice place to dine in. I recommend it

This architecture building so wonderful its classy im in love with gum. Its very classical building so many tenants in here. Inside the mall the have fountain in every corner they have chair that you can sit down and eat some famous ice cream gum. This ice cream vey famous and has many flavors the price of ice cream its moderate. If come to gum don’t forget to buy ice cream.

The worst shopping experience in my life! First, the restroom located only on the first and second floor. And it is cost $1! Can you imagine that the restroom in the middle of Moscow, Red square is paid! It’s insane! They also saved on the escalators, they are going only down but not up😂Also I don’t trust the quality of the products, they look like fake to be honest. Especially now, when Russia doesn’t have import from other countries. I would not trust this place!

It's the largest mall and everything inside it it is really expensive. But you need to try the ice-cream inside it's superb. And also you need to pay 100-200 rub to take a leak inside the mall. It's located on the red square. Visit red square in the night it's really great. Also you can get some awesome clicks. One of the interface is from the street where it is covered from lights all over. Have fun.

Beautiful and luxurious shopping mall with the best ambiance possible. Long floors with all the top brands at your disposal, GUM is a must visit. The cafe’s are well designed and compliment the mall. The stunning cherry blossom trees and fountain just add to the awe of the place. Visit GUM for the sheer class it posses and be ready to be awestruck.

This is one of these places that even if you have no interest in shopping, you should at least walk through briefly. It’s amazingly beautiful and their floral displays rival the Bellagio in Las Vegas. They call it a “department store” but it seems to be more of a mall with many stores from brand you are probably familiar with and many small cafes, etc. They do have metal detectors at each entrance but only seem to do “selective” security screening as do many places in Russia.

Gum is one of the prominent malls in Moscow and located in the heart of Red square. The mall looks vibrant and aesthetically beautiful from inside. One thing which reminds me the most of it is fantastic ice creams stalls around the corners of the mall. They are awesome in taste and costs 100 rubles. It attracts many visitors cravings for yummy softies. The mall has apparels stores, electronics on its top floor, food courts, supermarkets, and cafes. One of the most expensive and tax-free malls in Moscow. Toilets charge 50 rubles and the most expensive toilet service is costing 150 rubles approx.

Structure built between 1880 and 1883 just in front of the Kremlin Today GUM department stores with many luxury brands The fountain, this is the central place where everyone meets, beautifully decorated for every season and always full of people for selfies. Many brand shops, cozy cafes and Soviet ice cream in pods. There is always a big queue near this stand. Also there are actions and entertainment for visitors. Recommend. Definitely you should go if you're in Moscow.

Great place to stop by after visiting red square. Actually, it's not so special...but it offers uniqueness, let's say about the fountain. You will find the long queue for ice cream

I really enjoyed the park, very large area to walk around. There was a lot of food and drink stalls to have a break. Good place to relax and read a book or sketch nature. The Cafes on the premises have high prices and the portions are not worth it. There were a lot of weddings going on while I was there and sometimes it felt uncomfortable to walk past them because large groups are trying to take photos so you try to not disturb or not end up in their photos. But it is understandable why people come there during their wedding because the park has a very nice scenery.

Nice place. Lots of beautiful trees with incredible leaves colors during autumn! The Grand Palace is great! The rest is not really worth it! The green gardens... are too basic... just South American ordinary plants nothing impressive.

A very beautiful collection of natural and artificial elements that all together have formed a unique colony. The park dates back to the 18th century and forms a series of monuments in Moscow Also, this park has excellent circulation and unique harmony of colors.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful place. If you’re a fan of long quite walks in the nature this place is perfect for you. There are so many picturesque places in the park. Also there are many birds and squirrels who are totally tamed and come to ask for food from the visitors. Don’t forget to bring some snacks for them!

Nice place definitely worth visiting. But please do not buy a complex ticket, just buy a ticket to the main palace. There are not much to see in other places. Even they sold the ticket when the exhibition was closed for renewal in the bread house, greenhouses were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The best time to visit this palace would be during the evenings. The lighting of the palace along with the other structures makes the whole place look like something from a dream. The lighting brings out the features of the structures especially in the night. The gardens surrounding the palace are well maintained. The area isn't crowded as one would expect it to be. Its good place to relax and walk about.

It’s beautiful and relatively newly restored. It’s such a pleasant oasis in the suburbs of Moscow and well worth a visit. Bazhenov the architect had an amazing vision that took some time to see finished. Your visit will be well worth your time if you have an extra day in Moscow.

Very beautiful park with historical buildings. There is enough space to walk and there a some little museums you can visit that tell you the history and origins of the buildings. You can eat here as well, at a ‘hotdog’ stand or you can sit somewhere and have a tea. And you can get little souvenirs at little stands all across the park.

Considering the ticket fare, I found the exhibition to be a bit small. Nice collection of treasuries though. Free audio guide is a plus. Negative point is that you are not allowed to take pictures inside. Be smart and reserve your ticket for a specific time slot a few days in advance via the internet, the queue at the ticket office was long.

You may skip this one if you wish. But otherwise it’s very beautiful from inside and will easily take 2/3 hours to see in its entirety

It is called as "Aruzeinnaya palata" in Russian. No photography allowed inside. Still I managed a few. A beautiful and well managed place with stuff from daily lives of Russian Czars displayed here. Their diamond encrusted clothes and armoury. Their carriages, personal weapons, silver ware, gifts and what not. A huge hit with tourists and Russians as well. Everything if valued must be worth several billion dollars. 1000 rubles ( 16 $) entry ticket. Includes digital guide, and museum curator too. A voyage through old times. !!!!! It’s the biggest theatre in moscow. It almost looks like a museum. The place can be easily located. The inside is ginormous. The building from outside looks huge.

Lately I could not review Red Square, because Google maps wrote that Red Square 🟥 is not reviewable. I absolutely agree with that statement. To make my own statement I can say Bolshoi Theatre is not reviewable either. It is a part of history of Russia, Soviet Union and Russia again. There are certain places that can’t be reviewed. You just can express your emotions with exclamation signs 🪧 Absolutely breathtaking! Full of history! Full of culture! The Bolshoi Theatre (Russian: Большо́й теа́тр, tr. Bol'shoy teatr, Great Theatre, is a historic theatre in Moscow, Russia, originally designed by architect Joseph Bové, which holds ballet and opera performances. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre (Small Theatre) in Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg (Hermitage Theatre, Bolshoi (Kamenny) Theatre, later Mariinsky Theatre and others).

A must see, great architecture. I visited there by walk from Kremlin as i didn't have internet.

One of the oldest and most beautiful theaters in the world.. it's really really worth it to watch a performance here. But at least you should book on of the theater's organized tours, huge amount of information really interesting stuff to learn about history and culture

Beautiful venue. Right next to the metro and easy to reach. Close walk to red square and shopping districtwith high end fashion and bars. People in the venue ate really helpful if you do not speak Russian. Intermission food and drinks are cash only.

A beautiful performing arts hall! If you are into photography this place has several keen photo optical opportunities. If you are thinking of reserving tickets for a show, pick your seats wisely. Too close to the edges of the stage and you'll have a hard time seeing the performance fully. Picking the top-most balcony will also leave you standing the whole time because the height of the ledges. If a performance is long enough to warrant refreshments, go to the 7th floor instead of the one on the 2nd floor as its larger and has more options. Make sure you dress your absolute best. This is a place to see and be seen.

New premier version of the opera "The Fairytale about The Tsar Saltan" (Skazka o Tsare Saltane), based on the poem of Alexander Pushkin. Excellent performance (mix of opera and a bit of circus), beautiful voices, magnificent costumes. The decorations could be better. Anyway -- you will enjoy! PS this opera is in the New Building (stage) of the Bolshoi Theatre (not in the historical building!!)

Bolshoi theatre is the most famous Russian theatre. Not the best of course, but the most prominent. Flamboyant interior decorations in red and gold colours, grandiose chandelier at the historical scene, some rooms looking like a museum expositions: everything is screaming "Luxury!" The tickets are usually around 7000 rubs up to 15000 (Historical stage), but I got one for a special price of 2000 rubs. It was at the highest - 4th level - but in a 1st raw and in the center, so the stage was visible perfectly. My level was in the 7th floor (there's an elevator) so I took a strong binocular, the usual "theatre" one won't help you much at this distance. Very convenient system of having it's own dressing room and buffet for each 2 levels avoids the crowd between and after the shows. The minus: Bolshoi theatre does NOT accept credit cards inside!! You have to pay cash for drinks/food and printed programs! This is very inconvenient! Especially considering the fact that a glass of champagne costs around a price of full bottle - 500 rubs. When buying a ticket online you have to insert you passport data and one person can't buy more than 2 tickets. Then you have to personally come and retrieve the ticket from ticket office, that located not in a Bolshoi theatre itself, but across the road, at RAMT. You have to show a passport and A CREDIT CARD that you used while buying the ticket! That is silly considering the fact that they do not accept credit cards in the theatre... Also the cashier lady and guards were speaking rather rude and spoiled the first impression from the most famous Russian theatre. I watched the opera Queen of Spades and it was average, lead singers were nondescript, decorations were simple as well as costumes. I was more impressed by the theatre itself then by the performance. I think you should visit this place to feel the atmosphere and see the magnificence of the building in the 1st place, and only then for the spectacular itself.

Absolute must visit when in Moscow! The theater was gorgeous, the people and the atmosphere felt like ball from a fairytale. The workers could speak both Russian and English. Also don’t forget to visit the bar during the break and try their champagne and mini-cakes, that’s the best experience ever.

Gorky Park in Moscow Visited on 7/10/2019 The light is fading when we arrive at the park. Our group is on our way to dinner, then take a boat cruise. I am unable to give a detailed review, because we all just walk along the garden path, without paying much attention to the surrounding facilities.

I recently visited this park along the Moscow River in Russia, and it proved to be a delightful experience. While the park was undergoing renovations, limiting my exploration within, the stroll along the Moscow River more than made up for it. The serene ambiance and scenic views provided a soothing escape. I can only imagine how wonderful it will be once the renovations are complete. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the picturesque river walk!

A very good place to visit in Moscow. You can easily reach there by bus or metro. It’s a big park and has many small restaurants to eat. Best part to visit the park in summer is after 6 or 7 at evening because at day time it’s very sunny.

Thanks to THE Scorpions song, I already knew its existence before that thought of visiting Russia back before 2016 It is a really big park with lots of gardens, activities, food stalls, concert areas, long lines of benches by the canal, jogging tracks, various plants trees and flowers and many more in store I was walking with my friend towards the sunset in spring and summer season and loving each and every step. Out of awareness, I walked from one Metro Station to the other, and the next one!! Well I wish it has more portable toilets but I think this park is a MUST visit for everyone I really want to come back here next year! See you real soon Gorky!

What a nice leisurely park. It is massive in size and clean. What makes it safer is it attracts a lot of tourists and localities. You may see military events happening there on special occasions. The park is popular among localities and tourists. You can spot bars and cafes. Floral beautification is incredible. You can find playing courts, lakes and enjoy boating there. The end of the Gorky park touches banks the Moskva river. The place is ideal for capturing some stunning views of Moscow city. I took a taxi from Christ the Saviour church to Gorky Park. It is a highly recommended place to visit.

Great place to spend a day. Lots of sport activities and charming places to rest. Full of history from Imperial and Soviet Era. Radisson river cruises are the great addition to excursion. 1000 rubles (about $15) will get get 2 and half hours of amazing river trip.

A serene, calm and cool place, where people can come relax and spend their leisre time. Is quite big, has a beautiful lake just after the entrance. The other side flows the moscowa river. Has lots of benches. It is a cultural activities centre also. Recommend a visit here.

One of my favorite park in Moscow. Beautiful situated just by the river. Several places to eat and to enjoy views. I walked from sparrow hills to the park which is a great walk. A lot of people walking and enjoying the river walk. The park is pretty close to the red square, nice to walk from there.

If you wish to enter into the mausoleum, you'll have to endure the queue, especially at this summer period. The park benches are quite welcome for the tired tourist. Also no photography is permitted within Lenin's mausoleum,as a mark of respect. The change of guards is the highlight of any visit.. mesmerizing! The nearby ice cream stands are welcome during the summer heat!

Absolutely beautiful, especially for someone like myself who was originally born in Moscow. It was raining but that let me take beautiful people-less shots! Highly recommend buying the full access pass, but only if you like Russian history. The cathedrals are beautiful.

Amazing, a must see place. Have a tour that takes in the Cathedrals and the Treasury museum, spectacular. Finish it off by visiting Red Square in the evening, with everything lit up. Update Sep 2023 - that review didn't age very well!! 😲 Maybe we can revisit in about 20 years....

I have never ever experience such an amazing place till now my whole life you have to visit the Kremlin Square if possible once in your lifetime it should & must be a part of your bucket list. It is so peaceful once you have seen & felt this amazing place you will never want to go back but as all good things should never been let apart. The most brilliant thing is the carnival which is held outside of the fort is truly breathtaking no words can define this place I wish I could write more about it this is the real experience which is a must....

Beautiful place with a rich history, energized atmosphere, and incredible architecture. Highly recommend the tour of the inside of the Kremlin, where you can visit cathedrals dating back to the 13th century. Great place to be anytime during the day, but especially at night! (I would also advise making a stop at the eternal flame, which honors the loss of soldiers' lives in WWII).

A place full of history, the churches, and gardens are well worth the visit. Its impressive how this place is so well maintained. You can see the cannons left behind by Napoleon. You can also see iconic buildings from Russia's history although the tourist can really only see them from the outside, yet its still very worthwhile.

Must visit. 3 things to see- the bridge while entering the Kremlin, cathedral square, go up the tower, and armoury. If short on money skip the armoury. Washroom is free inside. Small snacks available. They are strict about closing times.

Fantastic experience. We took the opportunity to take a cruise excursion into Moscow on high speed train. We had the most wonderful tour guide who had a great head of knowledge. It was a long day but so worth the money for the trip. Loved every minute of it. Would recommend the trip.

Gorgeous park with wooden churches taken from several regions of Russia, an UNESCO world heritage church and museum, and a reconstruction of a wooden palace. Really worth visiting, and you can spend the whole day there since most attractions are in opposite sides of the park.

This is one of the most underrated and magnificently large parks in Moscow, especially for spring and summer. It offers a more nature oriented time while keeping itself public and accessible compared to other titans like Gorky and I must say that Kolomenskoye Park is far more enjoyable. It has it all, colourful trees for models and photographers, stone paths for a more olden feel, small hills with steep paths for those who want a casual hike, a myriad of wide open spaces perfect for picnics with loved ones or friends, Riverside cycling and picnics, and flowers and orchards galore. This park is absolutely beautiful and offers a view like no other in Moscow. If you want to walk with the trees and flowers or enjoy a riverside breeze, this is it.

We took the opportunity to walk to the top rather than use a bus or taxi. It was spectacular. The path easy to walk, lots of shaded benches to sit and enjoy the lush forest and birdsong.

The territory of the park is distinguished by its amazing nature and magnificent views from the observation deck. The park is beautiful at any time of the year. Well-equipped ski lifts and 3 high-speed descents, up to 230 meters long, create ideal conditions for training for professional and amateur athletes. The observation deck was erected at the intersection of Kosygina Street and University Square. Through telescopes you can take a look at the surrounding beauty at an altitude of 80 meters above the Moscow River completely free of charge. To get down from the site, you can walk along the stairs or use the cable car.

Beautiful green park and a viewing point with great views of the Luzhniki stadium and Moscow City. The MGU (Moscow State University) main building is an enormously curious monument of the Soviet gigantomania. Very impressive, full of interesting stories and urban legends. Lucky students!

Sparrow Hills is an amazing point in moscow. You can just go there to walk close to one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. The view at the end of the hills is amazing and very wide. I've visited it while it was snowing and the experience was cold but amazing 😍

A cathedral with religious relics and artifacts on display. It's free but it has tight security in the entrance. No video or mobile use is allowed inside. You can appreciate Moscow’s landscape when you buy a ticket and go to the highest floor. It was amazing.

The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is a Russian Orthodox cathedral in Moscow. It is the third tallest Orthodox Christian church building in the world.

This church has an amazing view point in the heart of Moscow. You will be able to get up by elevator and go down by stairs. This place is not recommended if you are in a wheelchair. Even though they bring you up with an elevator there are more steps to climb.

Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow Visited on 5/10/2019 The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is a Russian Orthodox cathedral in Moscow, on the northern bank of the Moskva River. It is a few hundred metres southwest of the Kremlin. It is the highest representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, and is the seat of the Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow and all the Russians. The original church, took more than 40 years to build. It was destroyed in 1931 on the order of Joseph Stalin, leader of Soviet Russia of that time. The present church was rebuilt on the site between 1995 and 2000. The building can be described as having a stone facade and white marble, with four columns, as well as its five golden domes. Visitors are not allowed supposedly to take photos inside the cathedral. The giant dome of the cathedral was gilded. Jehovah Sabaoth disguised as a starets is displayed in the middle of the dome, who is holding the Charter. Dress code must be observed if one decides to enter the cathedral. Women should cover the head and shoulders and avoid provocative clothes; men should wear full-length trousers.

Beautiful inside and outside, also has a beautiful view from the top. It is free to enter and look aroud, but it is forbidden to take pictures! At the top there are 4 terraces where you can see the whole city ( for this you would have to buy tickets but they are cheap). To enter an Orthodox church there is a dress code so be respectful ( no shorts, no opet shoulder shirts, women tend to cover ther heads...)

Going to see this immense cathedral was the highlight of my trip to Moscow, far better than any other tourist attractions in the city. The cathedral is not only beautiful on the outside but also incredible once you get in, I highly recommend going in to see the wall paintings and the enormity and beautiful paintings of the dome. Moreover, I recommend buying the tickets to the terrace though I must say there are plenty of stairs, so be prepared for that, but the views from up there are incredible.

What a marvelous architecture. The church is located opposite to the Kremlin Moscow. You will need to walk 1.5 Km approx to reach there. The traffic can be really fast but you have sufficient walkways to cross over to the other side of the Kremlin. You can explore its park which is big and a good place to spend a peaceful time. You can enter the church free of cost and it looks beautiful inside. If you want to reach the rooftop of the cathedral you will need to pay 400 rubles for it. You can make payments by cash or cards to capture some stunning views of the Moscow city. Be prepared to climb the terrace using stairs. They do have provision for lifts however, it seems they don't go direct. You need to be patient. Around the cathedral, you can also book tickets for cruise boats.

One of the most beautiful Cathedrals in the world

Absolutely stunning!!! The entrance on Sunday morning was free :) They do ask for donations, then who doesn’t? Also, make sure you are dressed appropriately (no shorts or sleeve less shirts). There is a small park on the side, and if you walk to the back of the church there is a machine where you can get a coin or little card of the Cathedral for 25 rubles.

Great place for a visit on a cold day:) if you just want to look at rockets and stuff it will take you half an hour to walk through the exhibits, but if you want to learn about the Soviet space program and the people behind it and its ideas, you can be there all day;) The ticket thing is a bit tricky but some of the staff is very helpful ...

It's smaller than expected and suffering from the lack of entertainment. It has the greatest potential to make the completely interactive exposition, but unfortunately only some audio guidance is available for now. Anyway it's still the very attractive place to see the wonderful Soviet science and technology.

Museum of Cosmonautics, Moscow During the soviet time russia was the center of space technology and exploration. Soviet scientists led by Sergei Korolev opened new frontiers in space. From the labs in siberia to lauch pads in kazakhstan the glorious soviet space age is preserved in this museum in moscow. I found this place very interesting as almost every first satellite to dog to space station that was sent to space is preserved here. Lyka the first dog sent to space has a memorial here and the exact craft that took lyka into orbit is at display. Sputnik the first ever man made object to be in orbit has its replica and the entire history of it can be found here. I got a chance to visit a dummy space staion and see the amenities used by the astronauts with my own eyes. Only few people know like nasa Russia also had their space shuttle known as "burhan" But it never flew from Cosmodrome in kazakhstan. Space capsules that have returned to earth is at display, the black burn out skin of these capsules makes you wonder about the tremendous heat of re entry. Touching that was a dream come true for me. I most most interestingly the space suit of michel Collins is preserved here. Michel Collins was one of the apollo astronauts who flew with neil armstrong and landed on the moon.* Even the first man in space yuri gagarin his space suit and every belongings are here. This place is home to so much knowledge and a chance to see and touch the star stuffs which only can imagine and see on televisions, etc. Hope you guys Enjoy the pics Thank you.

Space adventure history in Russia. It is nice to see Space history from Russia. The exhibition was well organized. It included all indispensable pieces of Russian space adventure history. The environment was so relaxed. The staffs were so chill kind and friendly. Photo ticket is required

Fantastic museum, entry is not too expensive and there are a lot of very fascinating displays and exhibits. Only thing is that there are a lot of documents and signs that either have a very limited translation into English, or no translation at all. Would be helpful if more of the documents and texts were translated so it could be more accessible for foreign visitors. As it is, a lot of information is in English, but if you do not understand Russian, some of the exhibits will not make any sense. Good souvenir shop too!

Definitely worth a trip. Admission is very reasonable (250 rubles). Beautiful from the outside and a good number of displays inside. I would have loved to have spent more time there. Would definitely visit again. Many of the signs had English translation, which was very helpful!

An amazing experience to see Russian history of space journey and space exploration. Space suits, space shuttles, space technology, astronauts their literature and achievements. I was just mesmerized on witness such huge history which was never told by media. You must explore this museum and witness all that amazing science and technology space journey.

Amazing place for families with kids. It presents wide and interesting data of cosmonautic history in Russia, curious facts, machines, a cinema room, coffee area and great souvenir shop. Truly recommended. The only particular thing is that if you want to take pictures with pro camera you need to pay an special ticket for being allowed.

Rather traditional, but very well organized, covers (mostly) Russian efforts into space discovery. I loved the real size ships, clothes and other equipment all around you, put things into perspective. I would recommend going a bit early, a lot of students invaded the place it can be a bit crowded. You will need about two hours to get well enough scope.

The place itself is beautiful and well maintained, one of the most awesome public gardens in Moscow. One star is for animal cruelty this place is famous for. Officially, the mission of the Garden is to educate future botanists, nurture, collect and guard the variety of plants and seeds. Non-officially the management is getting rid of garden cats without any thoughts of their wellbeing, truly a medieval approach to handling these kind of issues. The administration is also doing it during the night in order not to ‘scare customers’ and in fear of getting bad publicity (which it’s getting anyway!) Deliberate animal cruelty combined with bureaucracy and overall lack of simple human decency makes this beautiful place a lie. Unfortunately, do not recommend it unless you feel fine supporting people that are ready to kill a stray animal because for them murder is the easiest way of solving an issue :) FYI: Visited them around two years ago.

It is truly a magical place. I loved it. It can be a great place to visit with friends, kids or go on a romantic date. Be prepared to walk a lot. There is a lot of entertainment. Cafes, fountains, restaurants, flower exhibitions, cactus room, tropical room, insect room, mini aquarium room. Fresh air. Highly recommend.

It’s a great place to have a small break from the city. It looks a bit too sad in winter and late autumn, but generally it really has a selection of nice plants and flowers and I know many people who goes there quite often even though there is an entrance fee. I wish there were more money invested in this place, but it is what it is.

The garden is cute. I dare say that there are many exotic plants if we take into consideration the geographical location of Moscow. The only minus is there place is horribly overcrowded. My daughter couldn't tolerate the long line of visitors to enter the tulips exhibition, so we decided to move away; despite of the fact that we had paid for the tickets.

Absolutely awesome place to go for a walk with kids 💐 we were there in the middle of May: park was full of blossom trees, flowers. It will be very interesting for lovers of nature 🌹💐🌱🌴 very reach collection of succulents🌵🪴 In "Buffet" you can find various international cuisine: Georgian, Italian, Vietnamese and so on. Rаre find: rose-shaped icecream in "Vanilla Pallet-knife"- " Ванильный Шпатель"(рус) Also you can buy plantlets and flowers compositions.
