An amazing building from the architectural and spiritual viewpoints. Its size is awesome. Although it's not the largest cathedral in the UK it apparently is the longest. The stained glass windows and other features inside are quite incredible. As well as performing marriage ceremonies the actual reception and meal can be held here and on our visit the dining tables were on view. Well worth a visit.

An absolutely gorgeous building. The outside is quite imposing but the inside is beautiful. Spent an afternoon wondering around the enormous building. Free entry with a recommended donation. Worth it for those who like architecture, history and culture.

This is Britain’s largest cathedral. It is an imposing red brick structure which is fairly modern in the world of cathedrals. There are chapels to be found inside the church demonstrating how large the church is. There’s access to many parts of the church which is great. The interior is highly maintained, boasting high ceilings and stained glass windows. It is fairly modern compared with several places but still worth a visit. For a fee, you can also climb to the top where you can enjoy aerial views of the city and beyond. The main church itself is free to the public. There is paid parking on site. It is a similar fee to other car parks nearby so you can even leave your vehicle here and walk downtown which is about 15 to 20 minutes walk. There is a cafe/bistro within the church. The church is approximately 30 minutes walk to Albert Docks and 7 minutes to Chinatown.

I came here with my family in mid-March, and it was beyond majestic. Just approaching the main doors you know that what's inside is truly a sight to behold. We spent about two hours just taking in all the awe-inspiring designs, observing all the intricate features in the stained glass windows, and going up to the top level of the cathedral to observe a 360 view of this great city. The World War memorial area was a tearful touch to what must be the most beautiful of cathedrals. Some photos are attached as the testament to the glory of this grand building.

Attended for the sound and light performance that was on for a limited time. So glad we went, it was so beautiful and well attended. The atmosphere was amazing and put one in the Christmas mood. The whole cathedral was illuminated and the music very moving. Very reasonably priced with friendly staff. Well worth a visit if you can next year!

It is nice to see that it is free to enter but do like a donation and that's fine. There are places you can not get if in a wheelchair. There is a lift down to the ladies chapel. Great place to visit and experience

Absolutely amazing place, we missed the opportunity to go up to the top but would defiantly go back again to experience it. I'd like it if there was more educational points dotted around the place. Or even tour people to be able to answer general questions. So much to take in. The cafe is lovely too, and the parking is pretty reasonable. Will defiantly back

One of the most beautiful cathedrals I have ever seen! It has an impressive size and architectural. It is a very peaceful place. Excellent for spending time and connecting with God and having good energy. When we were there, the cathedral choir was singing. It was a beautiful presentation!

Huge. It just keeps going on and on. Extra rooms all around the place. Massive gift shop and nice cafe. Lovely feel to the place, it is worth a visit, especially as it is free to enter, which makes you happy to spend money there.

Really lovely Cathedral, felt very modern as it was so clean and fresh. The gentleman welcoming us in was very pleasant, he have us a map and told us which way to go and that if we wanted to go to the top of the Cathedral we could for a charge. We lit a couple of candles and donated some money which was a nice experience. The stained glass windows were stunning, I am sure even more so when the sun in shining through. Very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely say go and visit if you are in Liverpool.

The cathedral was a great choice in a sunny day. The architecture is quite stark but the vaulted ceilings are incredible. Went to the top of the tower (for £7 pp) and had beautiful views of the city. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Went here in morning during my visit in Liverpool. One of the most beautiful and grand cathedrals of UK. The interiors are stunning. The place is huge and the church is very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral, both inside and outside. More of a tourist attraction than a place of worship - the cafe sits partly inside the main bit of the cathedral with chairs and tables just behind where congregation sits! But making it an attraction means it's very inclusive which I loved. They had some art/exhibitions around the theme of unity which was moving. Some interactive. And the tower experience is well worth the money of the ticket provided you aren't scared of heights or have mobility issues. Beautiful views across the city on a clear day like we had.

Visited here for the first time on Xmas Eve - 24-12-23 for the Xmas Carol Service and had a wonderful evening. Upon arrival I was taken back in awe by the sheer size of the magnificent cathedral. It truly is breath-taking! Once inside, I gasped taking in the high ceilings and gothic architecture as well as the sounds of the mighty organ. It is a sight to behold and the organ sounds amazing! It was very atmospheric going for a service. I had a lovely evening. The Cathedral is absolutely stunning, not just a place of worship and reflection but also in architecture. A work of art and engineering. If you are in Liverpool visiting, do come and see the Cathedral. It is truly amazing!

Apparently the largest Anglican Cathedral ever built. Free entry. Amazing structure and space. Also a reasonable priced bistro but the gift shop a bit pricey (acceptable as it supports the cathedral). Went in for a visit and a look round. Left over 3 hours later and hadn't even been on the tower experience. Will do that next time. Plenty of volunteers/ guides around . Definitely recommended.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Liverpool cathedral which is the tallest cathedral in the UK! The real highlight of my visit was the ability to climb to the top of the cathedral. There was a small fee to pay but it was 100% worth the money. When I reached to top I was greeted with breathtaking views of the city. As it was a clear day I could see for miles. The panoramic views of liver were amazing to see. The experience was amazing and can see why the cathedral is a popular tourist attractions and a must see for anyone in the city. I would highly recommend so you can see the beauty and wonder of Liverpool at the highest point.

Toilets and coffee shop are also available so it can be a good spot for some relaxation and brake. I can recommend it.

A massive church build in the 20th century. Was nice to check out the building's history and even got to see the choral rehearsing which was nice. There are many things to see inside (even if you're not religious) and there is even a bistro where you can have lunch. Free entry.

What a great building, not as old as we thought, but definitely built in a style. Every time we thought that was it, we found other chapels and rooms, alot of history and small exhibits. Very peaceful. We tried the food in the cafe, it was great, well cooked, good portions, real old fashioned chips and good quality.

It’s so cute and informative. A great story of the greatest musical band ever. You can spend there more than 2 hours if you will listen to all stories on your media guide. And they have lot of languages! If you like their music this a definitely place for you. But the price is too heavy for the museum. It’s £18

If you're from any generation chances are you know more than one of their songs, but if you were a teenager in the 60's they're a large part of the soundtrack of your youth, and thus never forgotten. No matter who you are this is likely the one place in Liverpool you absolutely must visit. Loved every minute of the self guided tour of memorable photos and exhibits. The digital AV support is excellent and best of all it's at your own pace. MOST EXCELLENT!

We really enjoyed this experience. It was easy to navigate around, there was lots to see and the headsets were easy to use. We visited on a Sunday morning and there was no queue. Would highly recommend.

Booked online. Arrived early and the staff were very accommodating and let us in. Loved the layout. Spent about 90 minutes which was enough time. The location is easy to find. If you're a Beatles fan or interested in how they came together and the vans rise & eventual break up, well worth a visit.

Only a small museum but it's got some good exhibits that belonged to the Beatles, guitars and whatnot. Only complaint is that since they introduced audio guides, people tend to stand round blocking the rooms, oblivious to anyone around them. Would be better to get rid of them.

Accessibility is good. lift access and wheel chairs to use whilst in the exhibition, carer goes free. Don't miss out the children's area on leaving, fab karaoke and dress up section! A few empty spaces where pictures should be in the John & yoko section, the audio description was mixed up, not in line with the lay out or what is displayed. It's a good experience if you don't know much Beatles history. The shop is Amazing! Best variety in one place.

Neither of us are great Beatles fans. It was just something we thought we should go and see on a rainy day in Liverpool. It started off well as I am 61 and have a Blue Light Card, so double discount (£19 reduced to £12). The entry fee for my partner was £19. Both entries come with headsets, and to be honest, they worked very well, providing clear information in many languages with an option to pause, rewind, or skip as necessary. You can also adjust the volume of the headset. The tour took us about 1:30hrs to get around. It could take longer if you choose to read information in each of the sections. There is a cafe and shop selling beatles memorabilia at the end of the tour. The staff we had interaction with were very friendly and helpful. For me, it was worth the £12 entry fee. My partner didn't think it was value for money at £19.

If you're a Beatles fan this place is Nirvana! A must-visit just to soak in how Beatlemania was back then. Even if you're not a fan, this place will still be worth the trip. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The wonderful lady who works in the gift shop, she deserves a raise!

Considering this exhibit/museum has been in existence 30yrs we felt it wasn’t as good as it should be. I understand official Beetles memorabilia is expensive but I felt it should of had more of the real deal. The walking guides/headset is a good idea in principle and it does save them money by not having individual guides walking around spitting out the same stuff over & over, however we felt they didn’t always run in order with the exhibits. For the money I guess it’s worth it but I don’t see it as something you would re-visit. The Cavern re-creation is quite cool, but then you may as well just go to the Cavern! Also, if you’re not too great on your feet it does go on for quite a while, there are places to sit in the Cavern section which is about 25-35 mins in, and again about an hour in when there are aeroplane seats, then again about another 15 mins later when you reach sections on the beetles as individuals. A top tip would be to find out when the least busy times are and go then. I suspect first thing in the morning mid-week. The reason I say this is because it gets quite congested meaning you can’t see and read the displays properly.

You can easily spend 2 or 3 hours in this place. It give real detailed info about the Beatles from their very,beginning until the breakup. There are sections dedicated to each member and what happened to them after the breakup. They have constructed decor and nice places to sit and listen to parts of the tour here and there. Totally recommend it 😊

We went inside mainly because my girlfriend wanted it badly so here we went. To be honest wasn't expecting to be as awesome as it was. Very well organised, curated and explained throughout via a audio tour. It spans from before they were famous until well after they were not a band anymore. Enormous amount of memorabilia, videos, audios of them and people closely associated with them. In truth everything was excellent and well worth it. If you do know the whole story, if you are a true fan or even if you are mildly interested as I am, I promise you, you will love the experience!

We weren't sure if the kids (ages 7 and 9) would engage with this but they loved it! Lots of interesting facts and the experience was enjoyed by all. You receive a headset to listen to each attraction as you go around with extra info to read along the way.

A must for anyone who has even a little interest in the fab four...it's basically a chronological walk through their careers. Lots of interesting info & good exhibits. At the exhibition you'll be given headphones and an audio/visual description to take around with you. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't heaving, was able to take our time, take some pics and enjoy the experience. Gift shop wasn't ridiculously priced either, which was a nice change to many others.

Great interactive museum. You get a headset to go around with and hear the multifaceted stories of how the beatles came to fame and their journey as a band. Great sets to poke around and plenty to see. Keeps you well entertained for a couple of hours. There's also a little cafe, loos and a great little shop attatched.

Great place to visit, multimedia tour, available in several different languages, lots of useful information, and a full story about the members of the band considered to be one of the icons of music. Over an hour's journey into the world of the Beatles. Unfortunately I do not have enough time to study all very carefully, but I will visit this place again, when I have more time. I’d not recommend this place. Very few original memorabilia (mostly posters?) and not as complete as you’d expect for a museum like this. Audio guides are OK and included in the price but without them, the experience would be lacking. The visit takes between 1 and 1.5 hours. There is a small shop at the end

I am an American tourist and Beatles fan. We weren’t planning to go into this museum but decided to do it anyways because we were by the docks. It was fantastic! I highly recommend the audio tour. It was full of information that I didn’t know, and focused a lot on the early years of the Beatles when they were in Liverpool and the people around the Beatles that helped them to be so successful like Epstein.

An awesome museum exploring the history of one of, if not the most, famous bands in history. There are plenty of items of memorabilia commemorating the band as well as items used by them and recreations of some of the sites they would have been to while in their prime. A must visit stop for fans of the band, or even if you have a bit of time while in Liverpool this is worth a visit.

We had the opportunity to visit The Beatles Story Liverpool, and it was truly incredible. Not only did we get to see amazing exhibits, but we also got a glimpse into the lives of The Beatles before they became famous. It was a remarkable experience filled with rich music history.

Not going to lie I was really disappointed with this place, it was chucking down with rain and the horrible woman on the door made us traipse back up the stairs to scan a qr code to buy tickets and wouldn't let us hang about the bottom of the stairs because of "health and safety" she also wouldn't let us in to buy tickets even when I showed her the website said it wasn't working! I'm not an itiot and I know how to use a website to book tickets for something but there was an issue ahs she couldn't have cared less. I checked my bank 10 mins later and the money had come out, 5 mins after that (15 mins total after she refused to help) I got an email telling me the tickets had been booked, as the ticket where for 5 mins ago I had a feeling she wouldn't let us in by the time we walked back but she did. Once in it was fairly busy but not too bad. I was fairly disappointed to find all that really happens is you walk round a really small space listening to an audio guide, I don't know what I'd expect but it wasn't this. I expected some legit original stuff but 90% is "how it would have looked". It only lasts an hour end to end and the prices in the shop are shameful. I'm not sure I've ever left a one star review before and maybe the incedent with the ticketing police set me up to not be happy with the rest of the experience but for £20 each they are making a killing and then they want £25 for a cd you can get from amazon for £8. Tourist trap doesn't cover it! I doubt they will care but visitor be aware.

This modern museum is well worth a visit. The exhibition spaces are light and airy and display cases carefully arranged and informative. There is a wealth of detail on the city starting from prehistoric times right up to present day. Allow about 2 hours for a visit with children. Interactive screens etc are dotted throughout the museum but sadly several were not working on our visit. There is little to keep really young children engaged. There is a good value cafe and lots of toilets available.

This is a museum lover's paradise. We had an amazing day out and the exhibits were very informative and interesting. Definitely recommended if you are someone who loves spending your time in museum visits

The museum is great. Theres a children’s area with water play, lots of things to touch and do. The staff are very friendly and understanding of children with additional needs. Other parts of the museum our kids found really interesting. There needs to be a few more toy trains on the wooden track area as 2 didn’t go very far 😂 Great views from the place too! There was a fun karaoke room which we had a right laugh in. Took a picnic and sat in a quiet area. I didn’t think much to the staff on strike outside standing in our way telling us not to go in repeatedly and following us right to the door when it was obvious we had a child with us that had special needs and was nervous of the noise and new people. I thought that was out of order. (Although I understand why they were striking I think it’s important to consider your audience and their needs) Good day out though, lots to do inside

This is a fascinating place. It explains the history of Liverpool brilliantly and made for a great day. The place itself is situated right in the heart of Liverpool docks, which is absolutely stunning. I was also thrilled to see that it was free entry, and the staff were polite and gracious. I would definitely come back here.

Overall a solid museum and especially with it being free! Excellent exhibits all around although too many kids for me ha! My caveat is the poor directions to get around exhibits. Case in point: entering the 1st floor one faces the Viking history section… and yet the earliest ancestors history is to the left of that. Why are there no signs indicating to start to the left?? It was like this all over many of the larger exhibit halls.

There is a floor that shows how Liverpool has been evolving in UK's history and the importance of Liverpool. There is a room full of entertainment especially about Beatles. At some audio seats and the karaoke room, you can play and listen to music/songs. The museum's location is by the dock side, so before or after visiting the museum you always get a chance to walk along the dock.

We had zero intentions of visiting a museum - we were looking for a walk along the front to the docks and thought this building was impressive and worth having a look. It has such a great layout, very interactive, bright and airy! Doesn’t feel at all like a museum! We didn’t stay very long but I’m glad we visited!

Great building but not sure if it is designed abundantly well. I imagine other museums places etc have a lot of other great pieces but some things felt sparse. Where is unless I missed it the Everton/Liverpool story, once great friends now rivals. Interesting pieces throughout but I lost the sense of how Liverpool changed over the years. Go to the recording studio though that was fun.

I love this museum! Three floors of displays, so many things to view and interact with, displays which can be viewed with all six senses! There are interactive displays, displays you can smell, displays you can feel, displays you can see and hear… and so much more. I’ve been here a few times, multiple times when I was younger and more recently last week when I visited Liverpool for my birthday. This museum is great for all age ranges, the displays never get old! On the top floor there is also a glass window where you can get an amazing view of Liverpool, perfect for tourists - I have attached a picture of this view! Would definitely recommend!

The museums in Liverpool are free and all are well worth a visit, there is a lot of Liverpools history, very modern feel to it and there is always something new to see, there is a souvenir shop and a nice cafe there too, staff are always helpful, lifts and excellent toilet facilities, highly recommend

I truly enjoyed my visit of the museum. The presentation was very well done. I would recommend it to anyone. The added bonus is the top floor at the viewing gallery. You can get a stunning birds-eye view of the city. Free to enter with the optional £5 donation.

This is a lovely museum filled with local history and has such a nice chilled out vibe to the place. The place was clean, spacious and packed full of interesting exhibits on display. You get a real sense of the pride of the area and you begin to understand the contribution to the uk that Liverpool and it’s people have made and continue to make. We will be back as we didn’t see everything!

I loved the experience here. It's located just next to the dock. Beautiful location overlooking the waters. I particularly recommend the ground floor collection on the dock, trains etc. Very well presented in an engaging manner. The audio visuals are great! And I appreciate the acknowledgement of the role Liverpool played in colonisation and empire.

While I didn't have the chance to visit the Museum of Liverpool, I couldn't help but admire its stunning architecture from the outside. This is exactly what I want from a modern museum - large, appealing displays, plenty of interactive elements and things to interest people of all ages. The building itself is impressive and there are fantastic views of the historic Liverpool waterfront. The variety of exhibitions really shows off all of the cultural, historic gems that Liverpool has and gives an insight into what makes this a city with such character and individuality. There are things to entertain children of all ages and plenty of other points of interest within walking distance. Best of all, it's free - amazing!

Lovely new building, lots of space and a variety of exhibitions. Despite no roof garden, there are great views from the massive windows. Could easily have spent 4 to 5 hours in there exploring everything. And best of all it is free entry so you may as well pay a visit.

An enjoyable couple of hours wandering around this informative museum. We learned a lot about the history of the city and it was fascinating to see archeological artifacts that had been found in the area. The only let down during our visit was the Gents toilets on the ground floor: small, grubby and only 2 urinals, one of which was out of order. Free entry as well. Well worth a visit.

Plenty of interesting displays, showing history of the city. Even for kids. Recommended dedicated time 2- 3 hours but check ahead if open as due to strikes other museums were closed. Free access to most exhibitions- special events have to be paid for and probably booked.

Amazing stadium and one of my favourites. Audio guides help give an insight into the stadium's history and it's also kind of a of free flow tour. So, you can look around and proceed your own pace, not pressured by time or being left behind. Excellent stadium for an excellent club.

One of the best stadiums I have been to! Classic and historic landmark in England. The tour was exceptional and the the gentleman who was guiding us through the tour was amazing and extraordinary. Even if you’re not into football, you would be interested and listen to him, his name is “Michael” a nice and well informed gentleman.

My second visit here, and I always enjoy it. The stadium is impressive, the staff and people are friendly. Getting to the stadium isn’t too difficult, as there are buses running from the city center on match days. The return bus ride can be a bit of a challenge due to the large number of people heading back, but apart from that, it’s a fantastic stadium and a wonderful experience.

Quite a friendly place these days last time I came in 80s we were chased . Family friendly now which is great. Arkles pub was mixed fans and ground is good for viewing. One negative was bar underneath was completely far from premier or CL level.. oh and we lost 3-0 so I want a refund 😥

I visited the Anfield stadium in Liverpool, where I had the opportunity to go through the places where the supporters and players of the big teams go when a match takes place. The locker room is very special, where you can feel the vibrant energy of the players even if they are not present is truly a beautiful experience.The care of the administration and the employees that everything is clean, dry and in order is impressive.

Very well built stadium. During chants and songs, you can hear them echo across the whole pitch, especially before the game starts, 'You will never walk alone' playing gives goosebumps. Stadium is usually pretty full, and the fan sector always puts up flags and banners.

Went for a stadium tour with my son for his first visit to Anfield and it was great. We did the self tour with audio guide. There is staff everywhere to help and seeing my son was struggling with the ear buds one straight away got him so overhead ones instead. We were able to see the stands the dressing rooms have pics with the trophies as well as learning some history on the way. It wasn't expensive and is disability friendly.

My fave stadium in all of Europe. Home to the greatest team in the world. The mighty Reds. A must visit for any football fans. Beautiful. Unmatched atmosphere. Especially on magical European nights.

I'm not into football at all, however my brother certainly is, however he's disabled and needed someone with him I went here, with fairly low expectations, however it's actually quite decent even as someone who doesn't care for football. If you have a blue badge, you can park just right outside the Anfield stadium for free, however places are somewhat limited.

This was a thoroughly interesting and moving experience. The 97 Memorial is especially poignant.The Tour Guides Terry and Paul were very knowledgeable and do their jobs with obvious pride and enthusiasm. The handheld video devices are an innovative addition to the tour. It is worth seeing the murals in the nearby streets. Will definitely be back ....

I went to Anfield Stadium last week for the first time, and it was amazing! The big stadium, loud fans, and the famous "This Is Anfield" sign left me really impressed. It's not just a stadium; it's like a special place for all Liverpool fans with a lot of cool history

Superb tour, my 11 yr old son really enjoyed it. The staff are wonderful, so engaging ❤️ It is an audio tour, self guided but they are there to help, if needed, at each area. Loads of interesting history and you get a real feel for the passion for the club by the fans.

We visited Anfield this past weekend for the Legends Match. It was our 3rd time visiting Anfield and what an amazing experience. We sat in the new section of the Anfield Road End. All the stewards and security were very professional and friendly. The new area for the fans in the Anfield Road End is amazing. Friendly bar and food staff. Everyone was outstanding. In my opinion there is no better experience than visiting Anfield. The history. The statues of former coaches and players. The Anfield Shop is second to none with great staff. It is huge. We had the best time this past weekend. Best way to get to the ground is by taxi.

Haven't been here since 2005. Did the tour and loved all the sights and seeing behind the scenes of the greatest club on earth. Can't wait to come back again and watch a game. Anfield is my church.

Did the Stadium tour and museum, watch a great way to start the trip to Liverpool. Not massive football fans (mainly patriotic when it comes to the main events like Euros and World Cup) so to make us immersed and wanting to learn about the history and team ethos is saying something. Great tour and loved being able to be at both the top and bottom stands to feel a part of the fan experience.

Did the stadium tour and couldn’t fault it. All the staff were so friendly, approachable and great sense of humour. Reasonable price for the length of the tour and what was included. The Liverpool store after was a treat! Great selection of products and also very friendly, helpful staff. Well worth a visit..

My second time coming here and I always love it. The stadium is magnificent the staff and people are friendly. Getting to the stadium isn’t very hard as there are buses running to the football ground from the city centre on match day. Getting a bus back is a struggle as there are many people heading back but besides that it’s a wonderful stadium and a wonderful experience.

We finally went to the mythical Anfield stadium… and it is beautiful! I love the surrounding neighbourhoods of the stadium, very local, with nice murals. The food and drinking areas are good with different things to eat which is nice. A bit expensive though. The logo, the memorial and the megastore are also nice to see. I would recommend to do a full tour and come to park side where you can see the players bus arriving in the stadium. The atmosphere inside is to be fair not the best one I’ve seen, or the legend that is being said about it… The main problem is the accessibility to the stadium, from the city Center there is one bus that everyone wants to hop on so there are no seats left, and we missed out on 2 in a row, we had to take a cab to go there but the traffic is full too. Then when the game is over, very difficult to go back to the city Center so we had to walk 45 min as any other transportation mean are available… was a bit tiring

An experience of a life time, that was my first time and I already have another game booked for after Christmas.. highly recommend. The atmosphere is just something you won't experience anywhere else in the league. We are the best fans in the world.

What an amazing match day on 1st jan 2024. We took our 5 year old son to his 1st game and he loved it. We were seated in the new stand at the top it has a great view and plenty leg room.

Really nicely renovated. It had been over 10 years since I was there last. Took a walk around the whole stadium 🏟 amazing place for any Liverpool supporter to visit.

The iconic Anfield. Away fans are housed in the Anfield Road stand. I was in block AL9 (row 21, seat 205) and had a fairly decent view of the pitch. It was a little difficult to see across to the opposite corner though. The sun shone and the atmosphere was palpable. There was a lot of noise from the stand to my right. Probably the best atmosphere of any PL stadium I’ve visited. Lots of room in the away supporters concourse. I walked back to Lime Street station afterwards, which took about 35-40 minutes walking fast. Programmes are sold outside the stadium. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Overall, probably the most impressive PL stadium I’ve visited, with an incredible rousing atmosphere.

Visited Liverpool recently and decided to do the Anfield tour. It was a great experience and you can spend as much time on the tour. You get to see the stands, changing rooms, hospitality, players restaurant, and get to go down to the football field and see the home and away technical areas. Your also able to visit the museum afterwards, which was a nice bonus. Well worth a visit and quite reasonabley priced.

Even if you are not a fan of Liverpool, you should definitely take a look what's happening there! Enormous, big, glorious and magical - this is how I should call Anfield! And I was on a match that day and I don't think I can't even explain how the atmosphere feels!!

Quality venue for hospitality (and football) where past and present is celebrated but not unduly "in your face" other than football-side! Well-designed facilities and a club shop with huge choice, not necessarily best value, but some unique items.

This was one of the best experiences I've had. We loved every minute. It was our first visit to Anfield for a game and it was smooth sailing all the way. I was wary of entering a stadium with 60+ thousand people but I need not have worried the lines were not long and it was very well organised getting in. The security persons were efficient and fast and we got in pretty fast. Finding out seats was a breeze with lots of very helpful staff to help. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Brilliant football stadium. Full of character and history. Unbelievable atmosphere at the start of the game. Really impressed with how the ground has managed to keep its personality as a 4-stand football stadium as it's expanded to 61k without becoming a soulless bowl. Very busy around the ground but okay to get in. Concourses quite small bit prices very good for football; £3.50 for a Carlsburg. Also, lots of great Steet-art Murals hidden on the sides of houses off of Stanley Park Road.

It's absolutely brilliant. Fantastic ground. Stewards are amazing and constantly helpful. Took great care of fans with additional needs in front of where we were sitting. Anfield Road new stand is one of the best. Of the grounds I've been to, it has the best seating arrangement with a fantastic view of both goals with no restricted seating. Cannot wait for the next opportunity to go again.

We attended a tour of Anfield for my partners birthday and it was great! Got to see everything from the changing rooms to the press room. The staff were super helpful and lovely, and it was very relaxed and not pressured. We had a great time; museum was awesome as well!

What a stadium! Great match day experience. Lots of friendly and helpful staff and lots of history to see around the outside. New club shop is huge but very well staffed so hardly any queuing!

Free to enter but recommended donation of £5 (no pressure to donate though). Big museum with loads to see over 3 floors. Customs and Excise exhibit really interesting. Cafe was a bit rubbish - no menus anywhere and staff not particularly forthcoming but went to a food van outside the museum instead and then back in once we'd eaten. A large museum which I only allocated half a day for. I could easily have spent longer than that here, especially on the International Slavery Museum floor alone. Good that this city acknowledges its part in this awful trade. Other highlights were seeing some items retrieved from the Titanic wreck & ‘Seized!’ - the HMRC section.

This museum focuses on Merseyside's maritime history and is located in Albert Dock. It had general information with specific exhibitions on Titanic, Lusitania, Customs/Smuggling, and wartime shipping.

This museum is amazing. You could easily spend a whole day here. I would mark a star down for the lift situation but that's down to people not having common sense and courtesy for those with wheelchairs/buggies etc. We waited a while for the lifts as we wanted to start at level 5 and work the way down. We had a wheelchair so the stairs weren't an option but other people in the queue for the lift could've had more consideration. There's an amazing cafe on the ground floor which has amazing fresh made produce and meals. All of the staff in there were super friendly aswell. They had a monster making event on the top floor when we visited made from soft dough which hardened. Again this was free. The mummy room and Ancient Egyptian floor is second to none. My daughter is very much interested in this and has wanted to visit a museum but this blew her mind. They also offer a quiet space should you need to pray whilst at the museum which is absolutely brilliant. This was a fabulous way to spend a day during half term.

Worth a visit if you haven't been before, but beware the warm claustrophobic overcrowding of families on holidays and weekends! Multiple tiered building, so you can either take the lift (which would most likely be packed) or the hundreds of stairs. Live fish in the small aquarium section, and bugs in the bug floor (cool ants and tarantulas!), but seem very compacted in their habitat spaces. There's a suggested donation, with the opportunity to store your bags in the locker room in front of the gift shop. Ultimately a place for families and kids for children's playing interaction!

Excellent way to spend a couple of hours seeing magnificent displays and learning so much. Would have given five stars but I didn't like the Aquarium due to the really small tanks - especially the one with the grey mullet 😢. Otherwise, fabulous. Knowledgeable, friendly staff.

Outstanding, absolutely incredible that a place so rich with cool stuff to look at is still free these days, great few hours out with the kids. Parking can be a bit tricky outside as many of the machines were not functional when we last visited, but there's places nearby - It's within easy walking distance of the train station though so that's an option to. Also, if you want the planetarium book online in advance, we couldn't get in the morning session sadly as it was all booked up. I'd add that our last visit in Feb 2022, EVERYONE we interacted with in Liverpool was super friendly.

*free* entry apart from the doctor who area , though everything else was really interesting! multiple floors with different types of topics like dinosaurs, space, and even a aquarium! there is a gift shop and cafe on the left side of the museum, and the stairs and elevators are on the right. lots of toilets; some can be found of the floors. there are also real taxidermy, bugs and mummies. very good place to spend time at!

Amazing place! Definitely requires patience when using the lift because there's only two but considering the place is free is definitely worth visiting. Staff were helpful and friendly and has a lot of interesting things to look at and is a great place for kids! Parking situation is dire and expensive but it is in the centre of Liverpool so can't blame them.

Amazing place to see aquarium and Egyptian mummies and very detailed information about cultures around the world. I was in a awe that I nearly forgot to take pictures. Worth a visit. Under 2 min walkable distance from Liverpool lime Street station.

Wow, I took my son to kill some time, and we had the best experience. It was quite bust due to half term but wasn't too overwhelming, which was nice, and this museum is just fantastic. I love that it has an aquarium and a brilliant Egyptian exhibition. There's a cafe but we didn't go in and a nice little shop. Just loved it, had a fab afternoon

Been here first time but glad I made it. now, it's a great museum. There's so much to look at and brilliant place to take kids with you or made a family tour because there's a lot for kids. Keep them busy for a couple of hours. I like the aquarium area, butterflies, Egyptian mummy section and many more. BTW just one lift for big massive building and couple of floors not enough. Stair case was full busy. It's free entry then why not enjoy. Superb location just in front of train station.

Excellent day out for the kids! Lots of things fir them to see and admire, especially for free! My children loved looking at all the artifacts and learning about their interests. It was pretty busy but was to expected on a rainy half term day! No waiting time to enter we just walked straight in. We enjoyed our picnic on the top floor in the picnic area, highly recommend! There was a number if staff in the bug area who told us all about the crabs and them getting to big and needing to find another. My daughter then talked about the butterflies and showed a picture of a caterpillar she found at home, he listened to her and gave her more information and knowledge! Such great communication with children the staff had!

I enjoyed this place more than I thought I would. Yes it’s far too kid-friendly for me. But the Egyptian exhibit is great and was of keen interest, having been to Egypt myself earlier this year. The exhibit on Benin is also quite interesting but I didn’t have time to read through it all. Would definitely recommend a visit especially as it’s free.

What a fantastic little museum, with a bit of everything that kids have loved for decades, from ancient Egyptian mummies to even more ancient dinosaurs, to a planetarium to see above the planet and an aquarium to see the depths below. I would comment on the cost of the cafe, but the midterm is free, and the food is good quality, so think that works out fair. Fantastic for a day out, and it's on the yellow and red open top your bus routes, (not sure about blue though)

Very nice museum, walking distance from Lime Street railway station. Extra like: they have a little wildflower meadow to help pollinators. The planetarium wasn't open due to a technical problem, but the rest was great. Each storey has a different theme: space and time, dinosaurs and prehistoric life, ancient Egypt and mummies, an aquarium, and one level was having a temporary exhibition about ancient Greek mythology that we didn't visit. The cafe was great, nice kids' menu, I tried the scouse which was good, the gift shop was amazing, the bathrooms were clean.

This museum amazed me it is free to enter and explore , they just ask for a donation if possible . There is so much to see over five floors . They have the most mummies I have ever seen and the natural history section is phenomenal, there is something amazing around every corner, I saw loads of children in awe of the dinosaur collection . And they have a wonderful look and touch section where again all the children and the adults all indulged themselves . They have a space section where you can actually pick up a piece of what too me was an incredibly heavy piece of meteorite. I loved the way the museum was laid out inside and it had access for everyone to all floors with lifts . Very well sign posted inside . The staff were very informative and very pleasant and patient considering how busy it was . The museum has a great shop and the stuff was reasonably priced . A wonderful , beautiful and fascinating place to visit . Go and enjoy the history and fascinating artifacts in this collection.

Great museum across several floors and free to enter. There is an aquarium and planetarium which you can book a slot for free at the desk on ground floor. There is a lot of replicas in the museum especially on the animal/dinosaur floor but family still always have a lovely time. There is also a cafe and gift shop on ground floor.

Went to the world museum today- free to enter and has five floors to explore! From Space on floor five which has a great display Of space and time and a fab planetarium Floor four is Egyptian themed with great Mummy exhibitions and a picnic area so Much to see and a nice restaurant and shop On the ground floor, well worth getting here early !

Very nice museum. Quite big and as lot of areas it has covered. From fossils of dinosaur, ancient fish, reptile, amphibians etc. One floor specifically for ancient Egypt. Few mummies, tools, ornaments, pottery etc. One floor has aquarium. Free entry!! The place also has got a cafe and sovereign shop.

My friend and I took my eight year old son to this museum and we had a fantastic day. It was free to explore, the toilets were clean, and the exhibits were interesting for both adults and children alike. The poetry exhibit with the lights was particularly enjoyable to my son as well as the aquarium.

Great experience that’s absolutely free!!! Note to people who haven’t visited before the main entrance to the museum is on the left when facing the building, the library is on the right. The main steps at the front are no longer used. There are paid sections or tour’s available on the day at £3-£5 per person but there’s still plenty to do without paying. We managed to park outside the museum as it was not kids holidays, note when we used the pay and display machine, the chip & pin wasn’t working so we had to use cash. Lots more to do and see from here as well.

Amazing, we paid for the planetarium which was awesome (maybe too relaxing🤣) we paid to see the war of the gods exhibition too, but that was far too much money for the 20 minutes it took to walk around, it really wasn't worth the 16 for 2 adults, at least the kids were free! But all in all its an amazing place, we spent most of the day here, and the kids loved it. I'd happily visit again. Ps the scones were amazing!.

Quirky design this church. It is a spectacular building that can be spotted from various points in the city. Great place to catch sunset. There is paid parking in the roads nearby. The church is not too far from the town centre and can be easily reached on foot.

Such a beautiful n modern style building standing in the middle of the city on a high platform. A lot of stairs u need to jump for entrance or there’s a step free entrance too. As soon as u entered this building, u feel the difference. Massive big giant hall with centre stage. Love that big ceiling blue light. So peaceful n relaxing atmosphere. There was practice going on for the main service.

Most definitely worth visiting. Beautiful interior design and numerous alcoves with varying artistic works - wood carvings, tapestries, paintings - extensive glassworks, and informative explanatory panels. Up there with the Cathedral in Los Angeles for moving and thoughtful design and art.

Now, I will admit I thought we would be in and out of this Cathedral in about 15 minutes. We were actually there for nearly 2 hours! The crypt is a must see and well worth the £5 entry fee. A fascinating story of what the Cathedral was meant to look like. The Cathedral itself is very modern compared to other Cathedrals, but that doesn't retract from its beauty. I wish I knew her name, but we were shown down to the crypt by a lovely friendly member of staff, who gave us a quick history of the Cathedral. A definite must see if you are in Liverpool.

Beautiful cathedral, unusual in its design and so modern compared to how you think about classic cathedrals but a joy to visit so quiet and serene inside the colours dancing through the stained glass were captivating. The most beautiful stations of the cross I have ever seen . But judge for yourself . Go visit and enjoy .

Huge! Impressive and incredibly spacious. Inside, you feel as if you are in some kind of internal and safe space, filled with peace and tranquility.

Liverpool's second cathedral. An interesting piece of architecture that stands out in the surroundings and is a cool site to visit and walk around. The wigwam like design is unique and fascinating.

Beautiful place, lovely service, open to public. Really amazing glass panes - ideal to see on a sunny day. Also, I do strongly recommend visiting The Crypt - said to be the 3rd largest cathedral in the city. Amazing building and treasures.

This beautiful church with lots of history, definitely need be seen. There is an excellent cafe with fab food, lovely gift shop, and the chance to go to the top and take in the great views of the Wirral, Mersey, and Liverpool areas. A fantastic 360° view.

A stunning piece of architecture no matter your religious persuasions. If the staff offer a potted history then listen as it really helps contextualise the building and if you can afford to see the crypt too, it’s like seeing two different churches in one. Not essential but curious in its incongruity.

Fabulous only got see outside but it was a nice experience of a night no people. Have been inside though its breathtaking definitely worth a visit if you've never been don't forget your camera

Amazing contemporary postwar architecture. What I was really surprised about is originál plan for a second biggest catholic cathedral in the world. Due to second world war and death of architect the whole plan was reconsidered and completely different architectural approach was used to built significantly cheaper and more plain, but huge structure on the crypt (only part from originál project which was actually build). Concrete make amazing harmony with vitrage Windows and light inside is really powerful and spiritual. Love it

What an amazing building, even if you are not religious you should visit this cathedral just to admire the architecture. It is full of amazing light and shadows and us definitely something special. Places like this are best visited in complete silence so as to allow the mind to wrest and think about life, to meditate on family and all the good things in life . To also wrestle with the horrors that surround us and happen daily in this life. We have so much to be thankful for but sometimes we can forget that .

Facing the Anglican Cathedral at the other end of Hope Street, "Paddy's Wigwam" couldn't be more different. From the outside it appears rather functional. But inside, it's beauty takes the breath away. It is flooded with light from the stained glass panels that fill the space, with beautiful shafts of red, blue and purple filtered light. The crypt below is vast and quite breathtaking. It is topped off with the many modern works of art that fill the many nooks and crannies. Properly Epic!

It's a very unique place to visit in Liverpool that is located slightly outside the city centre yet well-worth the walk (or drive, and at least a half an hour visit as its both history and style (architectural) are very interesting and particular. Liverpool has two cathedrals because Liverpool is the centre of the Liverpool Anglican diocese (Church of England) and so it has an Anglican Cathedral, and it is also the centre of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. This one is the largest Catholic cathedral in Englanda, therefore it plays an important part in the life of the City of Liverpool and Merseyside. It's free to visit, thereforeI recommend to check it out from inside as well.

Absolutely stunning. The building itself is a work of art, and it has many small chapels, each containing a piece of art. There's a wealth of information about the history of the cathedral, both in the foyer and the chapels. I became so absorbed in the art and the very special atmosphere, I lost track of time. There's a crypt which you pay to enter; it had closed by the time I arrived so it's worth checking the timings before you visit.

You must visit this if you are in the City. It's like no other building you've seen, and is particularly stunning inside. The walk around the chapels and rooms around the perimeter takes you into all sorts of niches with all sorts of art and history; from sculpture to weaving, and from England to Ukraine. A lovely feeling, and well worth some time, whether you are spiritual or not.

A truly beautiful modern building that is striking at any level - when looking at it from far away, or coming closer, or wandering inside, or walking around it. The geometry, the scale, and the colours of the interior are inspiring.

Came here for a quick visit - Xmas Eve - 24-12-23 - after going to Carol service at Liverpool Cathedral. Two amazing cathedrals but very different in architecture. One is gothic and the other is modern but both are magnificent in their own way. The Metropolitan is amazing in the fact it is built in a circular shape and the architecture is more new and modern than its counterpart Liverpool Cathedral but stunning in terms of how it has been built as it is quite unique. We didn't stay for service but had a quick look round. Thank you to the security man for letting me take some pictures. I loved the nativity scenes and huge tapestry's. Definitely would recommend a visit here, day or night.

I really enjoyed visiting this cathedral! Earlier in the day we visited the Anglican cathedral; the two are very different! It’s quite an impressive sight to see this cathedral loom up at the end if the approach; it really reminded me of a spaceship as it’s so modern. Inside, I just loved the amazing colours from the stained glass panels, many quite traditional but others ultra modern. There is a wonderful feeling of light and space; I really enjoyed looking around. If visiting again I would go down to explore the crypt; we just didn’t have enough time today. Highly recommended! Update: revisiting 6 months later but I still didn’t get the chance to visit the crypt! This really is a must-see when visiting Liverpool.

Beautiful cathedral, a must see if you're in Liverpool. Free to enter the main cathedral, £5 charge to enter the crypt including museum which is well worth paying. The cathedral has a very interesting history. Originally designed by Edwin Lutyens and His Grace Archbishop Downey in the 1930s to be a Romanesque behemoth of a building towering over Merseyside, surrounding counties and the Irish sea, it would've been the second largest church with the largest dome in the world. The very expansive crypt was already mostly complete by the time plans fell through and was later used as a pedestal for the much smaller but still large modern Cathedral to sit on top of. The old crypt contains chapels, tombs, event rooms and a very tastefully done museum that covers the history of Catholicism in the local area, the history of Liverpool and the history of the building. Great examples of religious and liturgical artefacts also, including historic chalices, ciboria, monstrances, episcopal vestments etc, all very well labeled and explained. The staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The crypt was mostly empty of visitors when I called in on a weekday afternoon so a really lovely lady called Helen gave me a great impromptu tour of the crypt and pointed out lots of details that would be easily missed. The main cathedral upstairs is a fantastic example of 1960s Second Vatican Council era architecture (imho by far the most emblematic and impressive example anywhere in Britain or Ireland), not at all tacky or kitsch like some 20th century Catholic churches can be. The stained glass plays beautifully with daylight, there's a feeling of spaciousness throughout and the side chapels are beautiful. I'd imagine it's a lovely place for big diocesan liturgies and for Easter or Christmas morning Mass.

I had my reservations about going into the metropolitan as it isn’t my style of church. Though upon going inside I was overwhelmed by how big the cathedral is. The depictions of the crucifixion is in a very unique style and the chapels have a beautiful fixture to assemble around.

Excellent place to visit with knowledgeable and helpful staff. There is always lots exhibitions on some permanent some temporary.At the moment the Tudors art exhibition is on show and it is so breathtaking it has to be seen to be believed just how good it is. All that history and spectacular paintings under one roof how privileged i was to see it. There is also a lovely cafe and souvenir shop on sight.

Lovely gallery and the kids were free to get in. I went to see the latest Tom Wood photography exhibition (which is a must see). All the staff were very helpful and were busy but not too crazy. Really lovely gallery and I cant wait to go back.

Having never visited an art gallery in my 59 years, this was a wonderful experience. To see these beautiful paintings 'in the flesh' was a truly fantastic holiday event. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The sculpture was amazing but, to see the paintings of the masters was an incredible thing. Thank you Walker Art Gallery for giving me an education in art.

Really enjoyed wandering around here. Beautiful art in an amazing historic building. All for free entry! The cafe was good too. We were lucky and found a parking space on the road outside (pay at the meter or by phone/internet) but otherwise you are looking at one of the city car parks.

Beautiful gallery. Cafe had a good atmosphere, with tasty food and drinks. Served fresh food and loose leaf tea. They were a little bit pricey but that's to be expected!

Really pleasant experience in the Walker art gallery. Free entrance and friendly staff on hand for guidance. Many rooms with artworks of Pre Raphaelite era and modern pieces. Well worth a visit and cafeteria on the ground floor.

There was building work outside, but once inside this was a nice peaceful art gallery spread over a couple of floors, with paintings, sculptures, constitutes and objects. It is also very convenient for Lime Street Station, Empire Theatre, Central Library and the World Museum.

Very nice way to while away some time. Interesting array of art, although as most of the paintings were behind glass it was tricky to see the higher up one's. Donations are encouraged on a give what you can basis. Art is for all and should be enjoyed even of you can't afford to donate. Pleasant experience, and worthy of a visit if on the city..

Home to some fantastic treasures. Wide range of art including paintings and sculptures on display. Some classic paintings such as Lowrys along with some recent pieces too. In addition to this, the building is well maintained both inside and out, staffed by welcoming people! There is a cafe and restrooms inside along with some items to purchase but admission to the gallery is free.

Absolute proof that there's a lot more to Liverpool than the Fab Four. This gallery is a wonder. Amazing architecture filled with some truly inspirating artworks. The sculpture room is just mindblowing and so photogenic. Stop for a cake and a drink in between galleries and help support the building too. Definitely recommended!

A brilliant gallery with a variety of exhibitions throughout the year. The current Tom Wood Photie Man show is incredible. We spent about 1.5 hours walking through.

Always an amazing couple of hours spent at the Walker Art Gallery. We sat and appreciated The Triumph of Fortitude Tapestry this time around, picking out a new detail each time and admiring the exquisite weaving and storytelling.

There is a good collection here, from paintings to sculptures to daily necessities, and it is free to visit. The only shortcoming is that the lighting design of the oil painting area is flawed, and the reflection makes it difficult to see the details. For example, this cat cannot be viewed from the front, only from the side, because it is highly reflective.

Despite all the scaffolding, lots of lovely art within. Optional £5 donation on entrance and you can 'rent' a locker which is really handy for shopping bags! Ladies toilets just inside main entrance door on right. A small shop and cafe behind the reception desk. We paid extra to look at the John Moore's 2023 exhibition. There's some very unusual interpretations of what is art, but each to their own!

It was great to visit this place today, again- after so many years! Spotless clean, nice and warm. Easy to spend hours room by room. The permanent gallery is a little bit old, should have some different art to display. The temporary exhibition is normally for a small amount of money also a great opportunity. Coffee shop and souvenir shop on the ground floor. Fully accessible for wheelchair users. Yea, it is a must destination. The ‘only 5 stars’ is because not well upgraded collections.

I utterly adore this place. The sculpture room is worth the trip alone. This time I saw the John Moore painting prize exhibition and there was so much great stuff, I could have happily stayed there all day.

Amazing collection of artwork. I love that admission is free, making the art accessible to everyone. Has a really cool sculpture room, modern art, renaissance and baroque art, it’s just a very entertaining and educational space.

The gallery itself and the exhibits were excellent, however the gents toilets were down to one cubicle and the cafe had pretty much run out of everything by 13:00. Neither of these were ideal, but not enough to spoil a decent afternoon browsing an interesting and varied collection. Access is free but a donation is (quite reasonably) expected.

Another visit to the Walker Gallery with the family. What a great experience with two new Renaissance rooms. The sculpture room was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyable and the staff were really nice.

A delightful collection of sculpture, fine and decorative art from medieval to modern day. Permanent and special exhibits. Free entry with a charge for special exhibits (donation boxes available for cash and also contactless card stations, too)

Pretty little gallery with some standout works from Seurat, Freud and Lowry. Definitely worth a quick visit if you're wandering through Liverpool's Greco-Roman highway.

Really wonderful gallery - so many paintings - and some interesting features. If you love paintings it’s well worth a visit. I was very impressed and shocked by the slaves’ shackles in the classical sculpture gallery and appreciated the group who had made the intervention, and if they read this, I would have appreciated even more information and context.

Such a beautiful building. Very centrally located, close to the train station. Easy to commute to. It's just as modern inside as it looks traditional from the outside. Friendly staff. There is a cafe inside with drinks hot and cold, a selection of sweet and savoury items. The cafe staff are wonderful and happy to fill up your water bottle!

Fascinating library steeped in history. We visited the library as part of a walking tour and were amazed by the modern architecture in the atrium in contrast to the Picton Reading room. Well worth a visit, especially as part of a tour.

Is this the best library ever? Liverpudlians must feel so lucky to have such an amazing central library. There’s a great collection of books covering interesting topics in detail, even shelves and shelves of music scores. It was also very welcoming to library users with many types of tables to use for studying or discussions. The Picton Reading Room really took my breath away.

Superb building with great facilities. Recommend taking the stairs to the loft view terrace for a fine view of the Liverpool skyline.

This is a great location if you need to study or just look up general information, it also has lots of books and resources as well as a small museum. The location is surprisingly beautiful considering that the exterior doesn't hint at what is hiding inside the building. I truly was blown away and was not expecting much when I first stepped into the library. There is also a nice view at the very top of the building overlooking the city of Liverpool.

my favourite go to place whenever i need a quiet place to study or relax. i'm in love with the picton reading room in particular - it's a quiet spot, charging sockets available at the desk, and a good atmosphere! there are a lot of variety of books but i don't really use them much, might go for one or two books in the future. unfortunately, the cafe downstairs is not open whenever i'm there (not sure if it's because it's closed down forever). so i hope there will be a cafe downstairs soon!

Well worth a visit. The old was especially nice, and the reading rooms were just wow! Nice availability for people in wheelchairs and pleasant rooftop terrace with nice views

The guide on the tour bus said that tourists wouldn't normally think of visiting this library but recommended a visit to see the modern, spiral staircase with a glass roof and the contrast with the old reading rooms. We were glad we did make a visit as the above are amazing. At the top of the staircase you can go out on to the roof for fine views. We thought that the glass roof resembled a dalek and by some bizarre coincidence when we got to the bottom of the staircase there was a dalek on the forecourt!! 😱 Also, there were notices saying there could be noise today and it turned out one of the Beatles tribute acts were doing a small performance! 😃 Although I can't guarantee you will see a dalek or hear a Beatles tribute band it is worth a visit.

Liverpool Central Library, in my opinion, is not just a repository of knowledge but a masterpiece of architectural beauty. The grandeur of its historic facade, coupled with the modern interior, creates a captivating blend of old and new. The vast reading rooms and the stunning Picton Reading Room with its dome make every visit a visual delight. It's not just a library; it's a testament to Liverpool's rich cultural heritage and a truly enchanting place for bibliophiles.

I popped into the Central Library only to ask for information about another venue and was delighted to be told about 2 areas of the Library tucked away on the first floor. The Library itself is enormous and spread over 4 floors with a roof garden too. It was absolutely foul weather outside but the Library was warm and welcoming-and very busy! Just on the first floor there’s a door off to the Picton Reading Room. It is the most amazing space, like something from a Harry Potter film with wall to wall books over several levels, beautiful wrought iron staircases and borders. Just look at the photos! Through a simple passage way is the entrance to the Hornby Room full of rare books, illustrations and stuffed animals and birds. The room itself is beautiful with columns and a beautiful ceiling. From there go up to the 4th floor to the roof garden for a view across the city. I have no idea why these two rooms do not get any sort of promotion as points of interest for tourists; they really are spectacular! Picton Reading Room Hornby Room

It offers to borrow up to 14 books for three weeks at a time.

Wonderful, well designed space for a library. The people of Liverpool are lucky to have such an asset in their midst. We popped in to visit the breathtaking Picton Reading Rooms and adjoining Hornby Library with their vast collection of rare books - both accessible off the first floor of the main, modern library. All free.

Liverpool Central Library is housed in a grand old building. There are a range of books on contemporary and classic subjects. The Picton Reading room is a grand old room where people can pick out a book that they want and read and study. The library hosts events such as adult education courses. I saw a free creative writing workshop advertised when I was there. There is also a café downstairs.

Iconic location, great views from the ferry boats. I found the staff very friendly and enjoyed the crossing to Woodside on the Wirral

Cold December wind cutting through you off the Mersey, but that doesn't detract from the splendour of Liverpool's waterfront. Architecture, history, culture, music, the Fab Four. Fantastic.

Almost behind the Liver Building. A good terminal for the world famous ferries. You can either use it for commuting at the start/end of the day, or for leisure during the main part of the day.

Peacfull in the early morn. Council keeping the graffiti at bay, just need dog owners to stop using it as a toilet for there large pets,

Haven't been for a while but used to great going on the ferry.but at present you can only go in early morning or late afternoon.because it turns into a cruse rest of day.not what it was made for originally. Very disappointing.

Walked the length of Pier head and is always a favourite of mine. Great location to walk the dogs and also to nip into royal albert dock for some nice food.

The northern part of the well-known Tate. It’s interesting to see modern art of different years. You can find Dali as well. But it’s small gallery. Only two floors were working and they are free, which is pleasant. One more exhibition is paid. Overall it’s good, but not so many mind-taking works.

AMAZING! Shows more modern art, and the art often reflects on current situations! Very busy within, but always worth a visit to see the latest exhibition. The shop also contains a lot of great, affordable things to buy.

Great range of shops to suit all pockets. Good atmosphere in this semi open air shopping mall. Lots of bars and restaurants. Musicians and buskers add to the ambience. Leads beautifully down to The Albert Dock too.

Our family enjoyed exploring the wide range of shops at the Liverpool One shopping centre as we tried to uncover post-Christmas bargains. The atmosphere and ambience were pleasant. The mall and shops still had their festive decorations on. Everything was clean and well-organized. Yes, it was busy, but the place is quite spacious, so it’s not impossible to navigate even at peak times. The historical buildings around create an impressive setting near The Albert Dock. As you walk around, you may find musicians and buskers adding to the entertainment - likely even more so in better weather. Chavasse Park’s plazas were not too busy due to the colder weather. Stepping towards the waterfront, the views were stunning. The underground parking, well-connected transport options, and central location were appreciated (although the parking pricing was less so). Overall, the appealing atmosphere, wide selection for shopping and dining, and convenient facilities make Liverpool One beloved by both locals and tourists. I look forward to returning for events and seasonal experiences throughout the year. The ambiance and music enhance visits here.

Had a lovely evening here. 9 of us had dinner and drinks with cocktails and drinks. The place has 3 levels with lots of outside seating, background music and live bar entertaining which filtered through all areas. We were looked after brilliantly by Ashton (thankyou Hon) and never wanted for anything. Can I say the vibe was perfect and so was the food. We had a variety of cocktails which was all available. Definitely will be back. Thank-you all.

Supposedly one of the biggest outdoor shopping centres in the UK, it has everything that is expected of these large shopping complexes that will have something for all who visit. Shops, bars, restaurants and cinema. Where it has an advantage over most shopping centres is that it has a large grassed area, called Chavasse Park, which it hosts many events on and has some great pop-up events on throughout the summer and a Winter Wonderland with small ice-skating rink in the winter. All the bar/restaurants on the top floor have outdoor terraces that each get the sun all afternoon and evening in the summer. Unfortunately, as with most shopping centres, these are nearly all chains with average menus. I think where it could improve is having some of the top shops and department stores in it.

Nice place. Multiple food outlets. Good shopping options. Nice weather too.

Good open mall, lively with great variety of food options too. I loved the top floor. Visited in winter but summers are best I must say. Can take either stairs or escalators to go on the top where the city views are great!

Nice area for shopping if you’re looking for the big name designer brands and all the high street store. Lots of places nearby for a coffee, drinks or a bite to eat. I’d recommend Alberts Schenke, great food and beer. Liverpool One is where you can find the official Liverpool FC shop and the very cleverly named Everton FC shop - EvertonTwo!! Pedestrianised zone so nice to stroll about.

Pleasure beach slightly over priced particularly if your a local. I feel there definitely should be a more discounted rate and also the old rule that if it rained you could come back the next day for free. When we visited Valhalla was still closed have since seen it has been opened for rehearsals but with a lot still not working within the ride. The grand National and big dipper were also closed again some sort of discount would suffice particularly as some of the older favourited rides were closed. The other issue is opening at 10am but none of the rides opening until 10.30+ seems abit silly. Glad we didn’t fork out £150 for the fast passes. We did get some great help from a lady in the admissions dept via email. We managed to go on all of the rides as it was pouring down so most people seem to leave and the weather got slightly better towards closing time. This seemed to be when things went wrong. The big one closed and icon wasn’t working properly and had to be closed. Glad we didn’t get trapped on any rides. Food is overpriced and every man and their dog were in Burger King so not worth waiting over an hour for food particularly when there is no where to sit. You may be worth going from the park and the 5 min walk to McDonald’s then returning. There are better theme parks out there for a better price with more to offer.

Lovely place to shop, so many choices all kept nice. It's very sad to see the amount t of people in need though, and be ready to see it a lot. Help needs to be given to those in need, and a homeless shelter nearby made with their profits could surely be a great thing!

Wondering experiences so far as it was my first visit to Liverpool to attend an office party, and the venue was clubhouse one restaurant. Extremely good food, Scandinavian vibe inside the restaurant, and a great location, too. Strongly recommended.

Outstanding shopping mall. Great shopping, restaurants and bars. The Hilton Hotel (where we stayed) is located right at Liverpool One. They have a very nice Liverpool FC Store, and one of our favorite restaurants, Cosy Club. Great place to walk around outside as well. We really enjoyed our visit to Liverpool ONE.

Arrived in Liverpool by train. Awful weather so only visited John Lewis. Was looking for a special occasion dress. Shocked at the prices. Most £200. plus. Went to the cafe for a drink & cake. Nice selection of food. The pot of tea was awful.

Amazing, absolutely magnificent Liverpool city centre this year! Love the lights and Christmas Market is very well organised this time with the massive tents for a rainy, foggy and windy days 😀 😄 😜 Now we only need the money for spending 🤣🙃 and peace in the 🌎 world

Liverpool's beauty captivated us, and we look forward to revisiting in the summer. It provided a chance for the boys to witness the enhancement of physical features, a fascination they thoroughly enjoyed.

We really enjoyed our visit to the house and gardens. There is a great play area and a fun maze that we got lost in! The facilities are great. The cafe provides all kinds of foods and drink but can be very busy at peak times. We took the scenic walk towards the beach and stopped to look at the planes taking off nearby. Plenty of parking and easy to access. The house was interesting and plenty of staff around to talk to. We waited to get into the house but not for too long. Overall a great day out for all the family and would highly recommend.

Went here to see the hall. It's a beautiful place. The gardens are well maintained and are lovely . The kitchen garden is a must see and the bee hives. The hall itself is beautifully kept and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There are play areas for the children, a maze, the bluebell area has a wild wood for the kids too. You can take dogs and there are facilities on site. Well worth a visit

Don't be put off by the location & approch through what appears to be a trading estate, it's a hidden gem in the National Trust portfolio of properties & well worth a visit. Visited here around 4 years ago, but the house was closed, which is only open 5 days a week at the moment (Wednesday to Sunday). Lovely grounds & the house has some great features. Lots of friendly, helpful & knowledgeable volunteer guides on hand. The majority of the grounds are on the.flat so easy to get around for the less able & they even have a golf buggy on hand if you need assistance. We took our own picnic, which we ate in the grounds, however there is a well stocked cafe. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful grounds right next to the airport and the river. A good place for a short or medium walk. Very busy at the weekend. There is a maze and lovely kitchen garden. Great to spend time in the grounds and looking around Speke Hall itself is a bonus. Friendly guides in each room that engaged with the visiting children. The cafe is busy and the cream scones are home made and delicious. All in all a great day out

There is a large carpark, and it's easy to get, too. The gardens are lovely with some colourful borders. It's worth paying a visit to the secret garden, which is a lovely place to relax. The hall is nice but very dark inside. All the volunteers are all so knowledgeable and very helpful. The cafe is large and has a delicious selection of lunch items and plenty of cakes.

A beautiful property that we've been meaning to visit for quite some time. We weren't disappointed, it's beautiful & fascinating. The grounds were a treat to walk around too and we even got to watch some aeroplanes land at the airport. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. Cafe, ice-cream and occasionally a pizza van to keep the hungry tums fed. I'm not showing too many interior pics so I don't spoil it for folks. Well worth a visit.

It is a charming place, perfect for the whole family outing. We traveled there on the bus from the Liverpool centre with no issues. I do recommend to look at the membership options before you perches a ticket.

Really lovely place to visit with the family, longer walks if you want but we just stayed close to the hall for our first visit. The cafe looked nice, there was some locally produced ice cream. The activity trail is quite short (perfect for little ines) with lots to see and do on the way. There is a very well constructed Maze and a few little park areas. The staff in the hall were very knowledgeable and approachable. We will definitely visit again

Absolutely fabulous, walks are lovely around the gardens and woodlands. The house is a fascinating mix of Tudor and arts and crafts. Room assistants were so engaging, friendly and informative, really made the visit extra special.

Plenty to see and do! Stroll around the extensive gardens, get lost in the maze, play areas for children and not forgetting the house to explore. Lovely rooms in the house, very well maintained with friendly staff situated in many rooms. Would recommend visiting on a weekday if you can as it does get quite busy on a weekend with some queues to go into the first few rooms. Interesting displays and so much detail has been put in so don't miss that!

A great day out for the family. A well kept example of a Tudor home. The volunteers around the building were wonderful and full of knowledge which made each room even more interesting. Only negatives were that the service was extremely slow in both cafe and stalls. Also the maze was shut. Not ideal for busy school holidays.

Had a trip to Speke Hall this week and it was as divine as ever I have lost track of how many times I have been there but it never disappoints. Great place for kids too as the gardens are a safe haven for families you could literally be there all day. The Hall looks stunning time only helps it to get better. Wonderful guides too Sally in particular who was a wealth of knowledge. I will be back because it is just such an amazing experience you come home feeling relaxed and refreshed. Visitors from all over the world were enjoying the day but its just as good if you just live down the road. Cafe great too serving home grown produce. Disappointed not to see the gift shop and I hope it returns again some time in the future. Keep up the good work and thank you so much to all the volunteers that made it such a lovely day. X

Only the grounds were open today, as the house not open until march. Was nice walking around the grounds without hardly any people there. Good photo opportunities and it was so quiet bar the sound of birds. (And the aeroplanes from speke airport) I'll be visiting often in the summer.

Second visit after a year, and was nice! Quite small, but a lot to look at and learn from the inside the house. Gardens were quite plain, but meant there was more opportunity for picnics and kids running around on the flat land. Volunteers were lovely and eager to share more history & information of the estate! Spent only approx. 2 hours inside, would be longer if we chose to picnic there or linger.

We love coming to Speke hall and do a couple of times a year with the kids. The grounds and gardens are huge and beautiful, there is woodland at the back of the house you can walk through, there is also a themed woodland trail to interest children as well as a playground, maze and large natural playground with zip line. There is a cafe on site but not much on offer for food or kids drinks etc however there is a small pizza van. The house itself is gorgeous and very interesting to walk around. It would however be a better experience if the national trust opened more rooms to the public.

Quite a nice place with scenic walks around house nice cafe and book shop quite a bit for kids to do park fun walks and maze ice cream shops were shut while we was there and couldn't go in house due to having dog with us the Easter egg hunt was popular Large carpark and very clean toilets

Speke Hall is a national treasure. A well-preserved piece of history plonked in the middle of a modernised environment. There’s something a bit eye-opening when you see and hear the airplanes of the nearby airport in contrast to the quaint, relaxing feeling you get within the grounds of the hall. The house itself is a splendid example of Tudor architecture in Britain. There aren’t that many buildings of this quality that remain, so having the opportunity to visit Speke Hall is something not to be missed. View a real-life priest hole, a Tudor kitchen, an elegant Great Hall decorated with paintings and suits of armour, Victorian renovations and more. Thankfully I live within 30 minutes of the place, so it is somewhere we frequent with our children as they love history and getting some fresh air. It is a lovely place to visit regardless of the time of year, however, you will definitely enjoy it more in the late spring/early summer months when it’s a lot warmer. You can then get involved in various events they hold at the hall such as the recent Tudor day (May 2024) where there were a collection of people dressed in Tudor attire, dancing displays and even a court jester keeping the crowds amused. When you’re not engrossed by the history of the building or taking part in the events of the day, there are lots of places you can explore and relax. There is a good wooden play park for children of various ages. Depending on the time of year (please check before going) there is a maize maze, vegetable & herb gardens, a tea room, food restaurant and more. On days with sunshine you can grab a free deck chair on the North Lawn and catch some sun; having been there a few times I can say that it’s a little sun trap and provides a nice relaxing area to view the house from a distance. Overall this is a place that will not disappoint. If you like Speke Hall, I’d definitely recommend Rufford Old Hall and Little Moreton Hall for similar examples of Tudor buildings.

It is definitely worth a visit. The garden is a paradise for kids. The hall is magnificent. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable; I suggest you to strike up a conversation with them, and if you have a chance, take part in an organised tour (not all of them are suitable for small children though). Highly recommended

Beautiful NT property with many flowers and a delightful tudor house with an interior still in the 16th century style. We went on May Day and there were several stalls, displays and activities for children.

Being members of the National Trust meant we gained entry for free, and I'm glad we did. If we had paid £15 each I would've been very disappointed. While the grounds are extensive and gardens we'll maintained, the hall itself was very underwhelming. From the outside it does indeed look impressive, but was entered, it very much lacked the wow factor. Apart from the sitting room which displayed some impressive wood panelling and large fireplace, the rest of the rooms lacked any decent content or order. One room just had a snooker table in and not much else, while the study and large hall were very plain. The hall could do with a revamp, with more items of the era added and maybe a move around of some of the furniture which just seemed to be plonked anywhere. Also, we were not able to access any of the upstairs room which was very disappointing. If you like a good long walk in breathtaking grounds, there are much better free locations out there.

Really wonderful house and really interested. Loved the way they have set it out and a huge shout out to the vomunteers. The gardens are lovely. The cafe although a tad pricey is very nice.

Nice hall and gardens for a family visit. Plenty of woodland trails to explore, play areas for younger kids and a cafe to enjoy some food and drink. Hall itself was closed for renovation but quite the spectacle even from the outside

Spent a couple of hours walking round gardens and house lovely place very helpful and well informed staff. Enjoyed our visit and its close to the airport so bonus get to see a few aircraft take off Lovely house to visit and good play area and maze for the kids

Lovely walks and the house itself is a time capsule not to be missed. Make sure you ask the room volunteers to fill you in on their knowledge of the building and artefacts.

Great guided tour of an historic building. Originally an arts centre combined with cells and law courts. Now a conference wedding and tourist centre with organ recitals etc. Fabulous architecture and often used for filming everything from Batman to Peaky Blinders.

Great venue for events but also stands out to be a building of stature. It boasts of grand pillars, lots of statues and has a nice park/courtyard to the rear which all can enjoy. The venue is almost opposite Lime Street Station. Take time to take in the beauty of this place.

Absolutely gorgeous building, inside and out, I love this place. Also, when the Christmas markets arrive 🥰 amazing! x
