Free entry, £6 parking, food in the restaurant was excellent. A beautiful place to visit and the layout is fantastic, it's like walking around a small town. Staff were lovely, buy some sweets at the sweet shop, some fresh bread at the bakery, wander up to the big house and sit by the beautiful gardens. Perfect day out thank you x

Brilliant day out. Large car park. Parking is £6 for the day and the museum is free entry. Lots to see and explore. Great for children. Beautiful grounds and ponds near the castle ..and we saw a Kingfisher 💞 Very educational but also just good fun.

I was there on a bank holiday, and it is lush! Recommended as a fantastic family day out. The main drawback was the dining hall, which had a limited selection of food, was pricey, and did not have food that looked particularly appetizing. It had a mixture of history, gorgeous walks, and a great play area. Dogs are welcome, and admission is free. Please avoid buses 17 and 18, they are the wrong ones to take! The correct bus to take to get back to Cardiff's downtown was number 32.

A great place to visit, the massive site can be done in a day but we prefer to spend a few hours just wondering around half of it. Its worth buying some bread from the bakery and there is a fish & chop shop which is quite new but wasn't open when we visited on a Friday. There is a pub now which is still under reconstruction and looks like it will be finished soon. The cafe in the main building does very nice food.

It's stunningly beautiful. It is better to plan to spend whole day there. Absolutely free, just pay for a car park in advance to not waste your time there. A vivid immersion into history, a castle with a luxurious park where you can seat enjoying views, and a small museum that add nuances for understanding past eras.

We wish we’d gone a bit earlier because this is a “whole day” experience if you’re truly interested in the history that there is to see here. Absolutely fascinating. All the out buildings and interiors are just wonderful and full of stories and memories. The row of houses where each interior is decorated according to the year it was built is just amazing. We didn’t have time to see the complete gallery section but we will be going back very soon. It’s free to visit which is fabulous. There are various touch pads around so you can donate contactlessly a £5 donation which is actually incredible value for what you’re seeing. The car park is £6 for the whole day. Take a picnic and wear a comfortable pair of shoes and you will have a fabulous day. Everywhere is wheel chair friendly apart from some of the old buildings. The coffee shop is reasonably priced and great to stop at half way around. There is also a traditional type bakery and sweet shop there. I would advise to take cash as well as cards as the bakery is cash only. It smells delicious.

Beautiful surroundings in which to learn a lot about Welsh history and heritage. Plenty of picnic spots and space. Plenty of room for all, even when busy. No entry fee but there is a £6 parking fee. We'll worth it and easy to spend the whole day or an afternoon. It's especially worth a visit on a sunny day in spring/summer to see all the flowers and gardens in bloom.

Fascinating place. Lots to see, learn. Fun playground areas for children. There is also high rope obstacle course activity for older children and adults at a cost, which looked great fun for the daring.

Went over to St Fagans whilst I was staying in Cardiff during the Bank Holiday. It is also free admission. There are good bus links from Cardiff city centre to St Fagans so you don't need to bother with the car. The place is really interesting as they have saved and reconstructed a lot of buildings from all over Wales They also have interesting exhibitions inside as well. I expect that I will be going back when I am back in Cardiff to see what new exhibits they have.

St Fagans has a variety of props, mansions and gardens that will take you through a time lapse of Welsh culture. It's free as well. You can walk through a time lapse of the Welsh home decade to decade. Go to a traditional sweet shop. Visit Victorian gardens. Visit a solicitors house who served Elizabeth 1st. And my favourite part was looking at the olden rural development which would have housed entire families and their animals. The tour guides will tell you loads about the the props and social history. I was curious and asked about the history and it's curtious to do so. The old school house and court house was was my favourite they were quite spooky.

This place is absolutely amazing and it's FREE. Bear in mind you may have to pay for parking but it's worth the cost. A really accessible ♿ museum suitable for all ages with so much to see. Knowledgeable staff who show a real pleasure informing you about the history of certain aspects of Wales' culture and heritage.

This Really is a great day out, free admission too. Mixture of history and nature, with some nice walks thrown into the mix. Plenty of parking available at £6 for all day, a dining hall in the main building and lots of clean toilets around the site. The castle and gardens are really nice, with lots of interesting flowers.

It is amazing for being free. The car park is six pounds but there isn't an entry fee. The galleries are spaced out well so you're not on top of one another and they're quite interesting. The houses that have been moved and rebuilt are very cool and beautiful. The lakes nearer the back of the woods are beautiful and so is the house. It is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or not.

The outdoor museum is impressive and vast. There are many paths to follow but make sure you consult the maps placed around to make sure you’ve not missed any particular areas of interest. The staff are all very friendly and very knowledgeable. At a minimum this is a nice place to simply walk around if the history itself does not interest you. You’ll need to allow yourself 1.5-2 hours to explore the place at a minimum. NOTE: the 32 bus is a very simple and easy way to get to the museum from the city centre but please be aware that the last return bus is 3pm during the week. You will then be limited to taxi/uber for the return journey which is a significant additional cost given the museum itself is free. I suggest going in the morning and checking the return bus times which are posted at the bus stop.

Amazingly is free to visit ( just car park charge).Would happily pay to visit as it is a beautiful place, lots of buildings from different era's, many of them you can view inside. Picnic areas , you can buy food there too, parks for kids...it has everything. You will need a whole day to visit property. Loved it.

Brilliant place to visit. Free entrance but £6 car park charge. Depending which way you travel, if you go over a train crossing turn immediately left ( right before crossing if from other direction). Don’t bother going into the castle as only 2 rooms are open to view. The day we went it was raining but that didn’t put us off. Lots to see & do. If you like old fashioned sweets I recommend that you go to the shop that sells bread, £1.40 per 100g , limited selection there though compared if you went to the main sweet shop that charged £2 for 100g. Friendly & helpful staff. The galleries were good. I would definitely visit again if in the area

It's one of my favourite places to visit. Entrance if free and parking is £ 6.00 for the day. Wonderful restored buildings showing Welsh heritage. Grounds are enchanting and peaceful. There is just so much to see outside. There is an indoor museum too , but always seem to run out of time to visit it. Good selection of refreshments available. I think it offers a great day out for any age group.

So much to see! Could do several visits to really take everything in. Lots of different historical periods covered. I loved the exhibition on craft makers in the Gweithdy Gallery. Children enjoyed the play area. The cottages showing what inside looked like from 1805 - 1985 was particularly fascinating. Highly recommend as a family day out. You just pay for parking to get in - £6. But can give an entry donation if you want to. Three different cafes - couldn't see any GF options in two of them so recommend bringing own snacks/food.

It's a beautiful place and some fantastic history. Most of the volunteers were very helpful and friendly. We had a delicious lunch in the cafe in the main building on arrival. Disabled access is pretty good and I was able to take the mobility scooter to all areas, only leaving it to go into some of the houses. There was a disappointing amount closed when we went, the old shop in the village was closed for stock taking, the sweet shop was closed, nothing left in the bakery and several houses closed as well which was a real shame. Bonus was all the new lambs and the piglets on the farm. Was a bit frustrating when I had to leave my scooter to look down the terrace houses, was using my stick and got told off when trying to walk back to my scooter as we were going the wrong way. The comment "I'll let you of as it's not busy". Felt very ableist and was quite upsetting actually, it would have been too long a walk to go all the way round the path. I think some more awareness around accessibility is needed for staff. Entry was free and car park free for disabled, otherwise it is £6 a car.

This is a fabulous experience. We've been several times since moving to the area and we find new things to explore and see each time.The gardens are beautiful whatever the season. There are wheelchair accessible walks which are clearly marked. The whole site offers a step into the past that is of interest to all ages. There is a nice café which offers a variety of food and drink alternatives equally there are lots of benches to enjoy your own picnics. The area is quite spread out so walking is a must but there are lots of places to stop,view and rest if required. There is no entrance fee which is fabulous when so many people are struggling, There is a parking charge of £6 (free for disabled badge holders) but it is still very reasonable for a day out. The outside areas are dog friendly too so this is also a great bonus 😄

Absolutely gorgeous place. It was our first time in wales and I looked up a few nice things to do in Cardiff where this open air museum popped up. Really exceeded my expectations and I can highly recommend it to anyone. Dogs are also welcome!

Amazing place to visit, access is free (donations accepted) so much to look at and do, gives a really good understanding of history and the types of accommodation and housing, house and gardens are impressive with such variety of flora and fauna. Definitely worth a visit. There are lots of activities for children to do, you can book to do high ropes, play parks. Plenty of open area for them to run around in.

Fantastic place to visit with friends or family. Basically you have the main building which houses a gallery and coffee shop, then everything else is dotted about the land, it's a big outdoor museum full of history. They have transported historical buildings from all over Wales and placed them here. The land is vast and exciting to explore. Definitely get there at 10am when it opens to allow yourself time to see everything plus have some time for coffee and food. Parking: it's pay and display, lots of spaces and feels extremely safe. £6 for the day. Some tips Weather : go on a dry sunny day to make the most of your experience. If you don't like rain, wait for a nice day as you'll be outside alot. Food and drinks: there are a couple of places to eat and drink. One is in the main building and the other is near the tannery inside the outdoor area. Both indoors. I didn't eat there but the Coffee wasnt great but the price was high. bring your own if you are a particular about that. There are a few table and benches outside the shop and near the bakery. All in all it's definitely worth visiting and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Some of the cottages are dark inside, don't be startled if a figure looks out from the darkness, it's most likely a staff member.

It was a lovely place to be and the very first impression was serenity. Certainly will visit again and again. It's FREE! It is unbelievable that such a good place opens for free. I feel I am more Welsh now.

Well worth the visit. I've been several times since I was a child. Lots to see and do. Fantastic demonstrations of skills and crafts from history.

Great for taking a trip into the past of historic buildings from across Wales. There are barns, farm houses, schools, churches, a pub, shops, beautiful gardens and a row of terraced houses: each decorated from a different decade throughout the 20th century. You could easily spend a whole day here. Well worth a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cardiff Castle. Beautiful grounds, which are open to the public for free. If you want to see the other sites within the walls, you'll need to pay the entrance fee and it is worth it and reasonably priced. Lots to see, explore and enjoy. Was nice to sit with a lolly and take in the views. Some beautiful architecture with a wealth of history. Highly recommend a visit.

Hospitality tickets were worth getting for a gig here... separate toilets and bar so not much queuing for either. Stunning venue for a music event. The paid tour of the castle is definitely worth taking too 👍

Beautiful castle, plenty of things to explore, Surprisingly beautiful interiors of the house. It also has galleries used as war shelters, an interesting detail. With a £4 addition you get to see more, with a guided tour. There is free wi-fi and a free app can be downloaded, where everything is explained in several languages. It's definitely worth a visit.

Castle was very well built. We went to the underground cinema which was brilliant. It was a shame that the bar was closed otherwise it would have been more brilliant. The down fall was it didn’t have much lighting at the exit it was very poorly lit. The toilets were available but not very clean and couldn’t flush the toilets properly. Otherwise it was a great experience

Was great seeing history. The main castle has alot of steep narrow steps so be careful. Loved the mural on the wall it took several years to complete but worth a gander. The military museum was great to see and the inside walls set up showing shelters during the blitz.

A good place to visit. One of the fortified tunnels takes you back to WW2. Parts of the complex were used as an air raid shelter. The sounds of bombing plus the signage, bunks and other memorabilia all do a good job of taking you back in time. The history before WW2 is of course extensive. There are info points around the grounds so that you can soak up some detail at your leisure. We spent an hour or so strolling around the site. When you're done with that, there's also a military museum. It's quite compact, but has some points of interest. When we visited, a couple of historians were available to discuss a helmet collection. One might not think that helmets are fascinating, but their development through the ages tells a surprisingly interesting story. There is a cafe with outdoor seating. It was a sunny day, so we grabbed a beer. Very pleasant.

Unexpectedly interesting. Amazing rooms. Definitely do both the additional tower and house tours. Both guides were informative and entertaining in different ways. Only complaint was that we bought tickets in advance and then had to buy additional tickets for those tours, rather than being able to get it all at once. So there's really no point booking online in advance. I don't think it was even mentioned before I bought the tickets that to see all the best bits you need to pay again.

Castle is beautiful, as is the grounds.. we didn't do guided tour but still £52 for 2 adults, 1 concession & 1 child and was probably only 6 rooms you can go in which was a bit disappointing although they are stunning rooms. The keep, has amazing views and walking the walls was good and the museum was very interesting too. The big problems for us was the loud music blaring from the "community cricket cup" which we found pretty awful and 100% took away from the peacefulness of the place and finally the toilets which were ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS..filthy, sanitary bins over flowing, no tissue, soaking floor!!!

The Castle grounds are a fantastic venue for open-air events. We went to see Queens of the Stone Age, and the whole show was brilliant. Plenty of toilets for the numbers (had to queue for a minute or so, no big deal at all) and plenty of places to get drinks. You will need a mortgage to buy cocktails there tho

Castle was a mix of things. A bit of medieval castle. Bit of 19th century stately home. Bomb shelter. Welsh guards museum. Roman ruins. Concert venue. I didn’t like the concert venue as it took away from the ambience. But I get they need it. I found the entrance fee pricey for what you got. Quite liked the Welsh guard museum which is free (downstairs from the souvenir shop. Had I known, unsure if I’d pay £14 entrance fee which allowed me to go into the Bute home/castle keep. My favorite parts were free. Also check out the park next to the castle. There’s a stone circle we saw from a distance but didn’t get a chance to visit.

It is an extremely beautiful castle that has lived for more than a dozen centuries. It was originally built by the Romans as a fortress, but now only the reconstructed northern gate remains from those times, and only a couple of square meters of real masonry. Later, the place outlived the Anglo-Saxons, the Normans, and the Tudors, and everyone who could be outlived (and outlive us too 🙂). I highly recommend visiting both the main tower and the black tower. On the right side (from the entrance) there will be a huge building of various facades of different Gothic styles, it is also undoubtedly worth a look, because it contains the whole history of this place from medieval times and the Middle Ages.

Outstanding castle with a long and colourful history. Many features can be seen from the different stages of its development from the Roman foundations, Norman Keep, to the current relatively modern restoration and use as a residence, to name just a few. If you're in Cardiff, then enjoying a couple of hours here is a must do.

It was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking . The Christmas lights and decor was top notch craftsmanship and I will recommend doing it at night during the winter to enjoy the Christmas lights. It’s also free entry which is a plus just for the public space but you have to get a ticket to enter the main castle. The ice skating looked really nice but we didn’t try it cause of time but if you’re into ice skating, I’m sure you’ll love it🥰

I really liked the castle. It's a pity that some rooms were closed. I would also like the cashiers to warn that some parts of the castle cannot be visited unless you are part of a group with a guide. We bought regular tickets and couldn't get into the clock tower.

This castle did not disappoint. There’s an app you can download for a self-guided tour, which I highly recommend. We didn’t pay for the extra tour that takes you through more upper rooms in the castle, but the rooms we did go through ourselves were extraordinary in their opulent detail. Such creativity and extravagance! There was something unique to see everywhere you looked. We also enjoyed learning about the role the castle played as an air raid shelter during WWI. There were also great views from the castle keep.

Please download the cardiff castle app and carry your earphone before you reach castle. The entry fee is a substantial amount (as compared to other castle in UK) visa viz what it offers. Only the castle entry is on payment. Time required for the visit is maximum 2 hrs. Nevertheless the surrounding area is also well maintained and one can spend time with family without the entry fee. Basic snacks, sandwiches and coffee is available. It's a good experience.

Great place to visit. Not cheap but worth it. The extra charge small group guided tour is essential. The guide was great,interesting with a theme to the visit and loads of little-known facts to illuminate the experience. All the staff we spoke to made us feel welcome and they all knew their stuff. Well done.

This is the place that you can’t miss out if you coming to Cardiff! We visited here on Sunday and it was very busy! But really worth to visit, you can have a walk around outside of Cardiff Castle and of course it is really a good place to sit on the grass and enjoy the view and sunlight! Quite recommend to buy the tickets and get inside! ( it is toooooo busy on Sunday so we didn’t buy the tickets)

Cardiff castle is a must visit if you come here. It is worth it to pay the entrance fee if you enjoy the history and culture. Seems to date back to the 3rd century time of Romans. The old Roman wall is evidence of the same. If you go as a group i would recommend to take a guide since some areas like the castle tower and castle rooms can be accessed only with guides

This is a must! It is around £16 to get in, but it is a fantastic castle. The grounds are amazing and there is a lot to explore. I would have liked to go down into the depths, but I think having that intrigue of the unauthorised and unknown areas probably heightens the fascination of the experience. There is a tour which takes you to some of the unauthorised rooms from the clock tower, but we did not take this as you do have to pay a little more. The staff were really friendly and helpful which is always a plus. I would definitely go back!

A good experience for showing people a Welsh castle. For the ticket you get entry into the beautiful castle where you can learn about it's history and look at the beautiful architecture, as well as the option to climb a tower that provides a great view of the city and castle grounds. There are also lovely benches to eat and relax. It's not an all day experience, but one to two hours is good enough to see everything in the paid area.

It is a must-see. It is really beautiful and was worth the visit. I have captured many beautiful photos. You will need to buy tickets at the entrance. Also, it is worth mentioning that You must wear comfortable shoes as you will need to climb many narrow stairs.

Terrific Historical and magical Castle. We really enjoyed our time here. It was really adventure to history and some places reminded us BBC TV series Merlin . It was amazing, we could remember the places from scenes and how actors acted there and loved it. However at the end of the corridor one place was locked and there was a sign that it was only for guided tour, we wanted to see it without guide though it wasn't possible. Anyway we could see so much more and took loads of memorable pics.

Great historic castle atop the hill, apparently it is 2000 years old! You can imagine the castle dwellers feeling somewhat impregnable from enemy attack. It is a massive open space and there was a Christmas Market taking place within this large open space. Such a great vibe here.

Although you have to pay an admission to go into the Castle and other buildings, the grounds are free to go in. Very well preserved and a nice area to view the buildings from. Outside also impressive

A very interesting day ! You could spend a lot of time here. It is worth doing the guided tour of the Castle, in the summer you can also do a tour of the clock tower. The Tour Guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.

Very beautifull castle in deed. The original castle is really small. After entering the main walls, some parts are free so feel free to walk in and look around. You will know when u need to get a ticket. I think you would never need to purchase a ticket in advance or reserve anything. Enjoy…

Wales is lucky to have a number of beautiful castles. Options for visiting include purchasing tickets for a tour of the castle itself, or if you are only here for a quick visit, then you can walk around the grounds for free.

This is an amazing castle. We recommend adding on the 50 min tour for a full experience (£4) and access to special ornately decorated rooms. Our guide, Gareth was fantastic. He did a great job of showing us all the intricate details of how each room was designed. Their is a lot of history here from ancient Roman times to now. You can enjoy the Cafe, which is situated right next to the ancient Roman wall, making for a unique experience. This a must visit in Wales.

Interesting going up the castle top and down to the war tunnels (Entrance follow the path right hand side from ticket office). They also got some kids' entertainment during Easter. It's a bit hard to find parking in Cardiff city centre.

Over the top 19th century reconstruction at the 2000 year-old Fort/castle site. You can walk around much of the site for free. For 15 pounds you get entrance to the ornately carved, tiled and painted rooms, as well as the keep. We paid the extra 4.50for the guided tour, but it wasn't really worth it. You can get a similar amount of information from the free QR code audio app. I think it depends on which guide you get and hey, it's only 450! be sure to do the audio guide, otherwise you lose out on the significance of the site.

With its fascinating history, stunning architecture, and tranquil surroundings, Cardiff Castle is truly a must-see destination in the heart of Wales.

*did not do full visit with purchased ticket* this castle is lush! Much bigger than you’d think. Lovely open grounds for public access and a great place to stroll around or sit and enjoy the view. Ticket prices are a little steep for a proper tour on the inside of the castle

It was a new year's evening, so I haven't had full opportunity to see this castle in all its glory. However, according to what I saw at that time, I can easily say that it is huge, with a lot of space inside, a beautiful tower with many decorations, and Norman Keep. According to the parking situation, there are many private ones not far from the castle, and there are also many "Park and Ride" parking facilities available on the local streets. A special thanks to the security guards for their very polite way of greeting and friendly approach.

Beautiful grounds and castle. Easy enough to wander on your own. Each site was unique and special. Make sure to walk the tunnels; pretty cool experience.

Beautiful bay. Have plenty of bars and restaurants. Looks beautiful at night. It is walkable distance and great walk. Good place to visit with family and friends. There are se amusements such as boating and rides depending upon the weather. Good place to click pictures and make memories. It is very approachable and has good connecting buses to the city centre if you don't drive.

Nice place to visit if near Cardiff, Wales. Things to do and see. Plenty of food places to explore and try out. There was boats ride available around the bay. (Need to check times and dates, for when available). There a few hotels nearby and parking available.

Cardiff Bay is a lively vibrant place with a mix of modern architecture and beautiful old buildings. There are some intriguing sculptures too. There are plenty of places to eat and drink with lovely views over the bay. I did a circular walk accross the barrage to penarth and back to the bay which is also suitable for buggies and wheel chairs. There are plenty of boat trips leaving from the bay too if the weather permits. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be returning for another visit soon.

There are also boat trips available.so much to see from strolling around especially the quirky coffee shops .for the summer a beach style area will be available.still developing it atm but should make a visit even more enjoyable

A beautiful place to visit, steeped in history with some beautiful architecture & scenery. I recommend the boat trips. Seeing the Norwegian church where Roald Dahl was christened was one of the lovely things to see. Lots of places to eat & relax also.

Got the waterbus over to Cardiff bay....there are a lot of good restaurant chains here.....the parliament buildings and its grounds appear to be a work in progress....but im sure its all in hand.....worth the journey....go and enjoy....xx

Enjoyed the evening walk along the Cardiff Bay barrage. A lot of restaurants. A quick bus ride from the Cardiff centre.

It is a beautiful place where you can have a good time with friends and family. You can have lunch in one of the nice restaurants too.

Really has come on and improved. The bay is now fully open and vibrant. The ghost development of past has come of age. Really pleasant on a hot sunny day. Enjoy a reasonably price boat trip out if the weather is fine

It's one of my favourite places. Lovely walks and views. There are plenty of events and places to visit, do, and eat. Something for everyone.

Such an iconic stadium, right in the middle of Cardiff City. Excellent atmosphere, and completely filled to capacity of almost 75,000 the day we were there - Ireland v Wales for the first round of the 2023 6 Nations Rugby. The roof was closed, which made it an almost surreal experience - such a big place, but felt like a much smaller venue - view was perfect, which I expect everyone in the stadium would say. Easy to get into & out of stadium, with plenty of access to food & drink locations.

We Went to go see Coldplay and our seats were incredible. We didn't have to queue at all and the stewards and security were helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was amazing and the sound was great. We had the best experience ever. Totally recommend this venue.

For a fairly modern stadium there isn't a great amount of leg room if you are tall, but well worth a visit. View was excellent for the Wales v England rugby match from our seats that were on the second row of the second tier right behind the posts.The match was played with the roof closed due to the bad weather.Within easy walking distance of Cardiff Central train station and is in the center of Cardiff very close to shops ,bars and restaurants etc.

The Millennium Stadium is an epic and great venue for sports and music events alike! I was proud to come here for a Six Nations game, the atmosphere was electrifying! There are plenty of facilities located here, all of which are clean.

Great venue , friendly people ..as always across the border ...Didn't get full appreciation as roof was on, but shows brilliance of structure for all weather event venue. Great acoustics and sound. Easiest venue to get to and get out of , compared to nightmare of London 02 . I'd def return there .

Attended the Wales v Scotland game. Fantastic venue and have had a great view at every seat... front a few rows from pitch to last row at the top. Atmosphere is fantastic every time. 👌

One of the best stadiums in the UK. Entry into the venue was quick and easy, even with thorough security checks. The only issue I had on the date of my visit was that the concessions stands around block U17-U22 had all run out of food within an hour or two of opening. The event ran from 1500-2200. I would recommend a visit here, especially during a Welsh Rugby game as the atmosphere is hard to match. The national anthem is definitely worth witnessing in person.

Fantastic concert- staff ensured everyone’s safety and were thorough with checks. Lots of paramedic staff around to help people. My only complaint would be that the roof was kept on during the event and it was absolutely boiling hot.

Lovely day watching my team lose😩. Fantastic stadium and the staff were great and the Welsh fans were the friendliest I've ever met. Only complaint (hence the 4 stars) was the bar system, very unorganised, which made for longer than required waiting and warm drinks. That aside, still one if the best stadiums and can't wait for my next game there.

I went to watch the Rugby , WALES V's ENGLAND . The roof was closed. But the atmosphere was through the Roof. I Love going to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff . Its a great place to take family or go with ur friends. Everything available - food , soft drinks & alcohol , and of course toilets. You will definitely enjoy your day out at the Stadium . If its sports or music , Rugby or Concerts. . ....YOU WILL ENJOY .

I was asked again today to photograph a young ladies team to help capture their once in a lifetime experience. I have to say that the staff there and I mean every single one of them are absolutely amazing. It's always been a pleasure to shoot there and the staff go out of their way to give the best hospitality possible.

What a fabulous stadium. Easy to access, perfectly situated in the heart of the City. Wonderful, friendly staff. Fantastic example of an inside (outside) venue with the roof closed the rain was kept at Bay. The only negative was with the roof closed the acoustic at the gig I attended were poor.

This has to be the best stadium to watch live rugby! Excellent atmosphere. Staff were fantastic and crowd control seems effortless, but having said that, rugby fans are an easy fun loving bunch.

Well appointed stadium with good sight lines for both sport and other events. Helpful stewards. Beer and food not cheap but plenty of ɓars and restaurants nearby. Entrances 3 and 7 are in slightly different directions when approaching from town centre but you don't find out until you get there - needs better signage in the street. Cardiff Central rail station less than 10 minutes walk.

Went for the Wales vs England game and couldn't of been a better result 20-9 👏 Great atmosphere, pints are reasonable price for stadiums but the queue at half time was mental

Excellent day out watching Wales V South Africa. There is an abundance of parking available nearby but it isn't cheap as its located in Cardiff City centre. We took 3 kids with us and they loved it. The prices in the stadium are extortionate but that's what we have all come to expect at international arenas. The queues were well organised and we didn't have to wait very long to get in or out of the stadium. The atmosphere was great.

Amazing stadium, staff are always very friendly and helpful. Love coming here for consorts and rugby games. Yes the prices are getting higher which is irritating but we keep paying them anyway 🫣 Will always be my favourite stadium in the world, looking forward to spending more time there in the future! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The Principality Stadium, located in Cardiff, Wales, is a prominent sports and event venue. Formerly known as the Millennium Stadium, it has a retractable roof and is the national stadium of Wales. Our first time at Principality and I can honestly say it was probably the best stadium experience I've ever had. The fact that we live within walking distance is the first plus, but mostly the organization of it all. We were given a gate number and stairwell number which lead directly to the section our seat were located. And that's just the stadium! Our seats for the Rugby match (although pretty high up) were perfect, had a great vantage point, the atmosphere was fabulous, loved every minute.

Fantastic stadium with plenty of facilities. A lot of stairs to actually get into the stadium after the turnstiles, so anyone with mobility issues or even low stamina should seek alternative options. Not sure if there is a lift available ? Best to ask. Location perfect, right in the centre of Cardiff.

Great venue for a corporate event or conference. Excellent catering. AV facilities great, our hybrid conference went really well. All the staff were professional friendly and super helpful. Would definitely look forward to being invited to a event here again

I've been there a few times for football and more recently for Springsteen. It's a great stadium. Wherever you sit, you will have a good view. Staff helpful. Drinks and food are way too expensive, but they always are at Stadia, but maybe higher here! Would like to be able to take a water bottle in, even if empty with free water inside. That would reduce plastic waste. Great stadium

Visited to watch the 6 nations, Wales v France match. The atmosphere was amazing throughout the pre-match and match itself (despite Wales losing). The great thing with Rugby though isctgat all dans are mixed up throughout the stadium, and all still remain absolutely safe with, of course, the expected banter pre, during, and post match. Yes, tickets can prove expensive and sometimes elusive, but a great day out. If staying over, advise stopping off outside of Cardiff itself, e.g., Newport, Swansea, as the rail transport links are easy, cheap, and frequent, given the hotels, etc, are more than triple the usual overnight rates for a big match day. Will definitely look to visit again for either the Autumn Internationals or future 6 nation matches.

Amazing venue to see live music. Walking distance from the City Centre, which as you can imagine before the event was extremely busy. Getting in and out was easy enough, although give yourself plenty of time as queues were significant. Post event trains were well marshalled although not enough of them with packed platforms. Bruce Springsteen was awesome

Absolutely amazing atmosphere. I would get to the stadium an hour earlier than kick off time as it's crazy busy to get to the bar. But a throughly great day just shame about the result.

Always very well organised no matter what the event. Have seen rugby, football, concerts and even Monster Trucks. Not really a bad seat and I personally love the atmosphere when the roof is closed. Bar is a bit pricey though!

Great stadium, well organised getting to gates and thousands of people in. Drinks super expensive as you'd expect with long queues. Dosent affect the game and atmosphere though.

Brilliant live Music Venus and very convenient to Cardiff Central Station. All the facilities worked well and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Only downside is the ripoff price of drinks at £7.50 for a pint it's sheer profiteering. On the other hand Mr Springsteen was totally awesome and the music was outstanding.

Gorgeous venue amazingly clean, toilets are very well kept. We saw the Lion King which was amazing and well worth the 2yr wait thank you Covid! So why four stars? Seating is extremely uncomfortable. Although padded seats they offer little in way of support and the seat squabs are very short. Also we were there on one of the hottest days of the year and heat was stifling, surely this venue has air conditioning if not an investment should be made or the theatre doors where stewards are based, should of been opened to allow some airflow especially after a global pandemic.

Absolutely captivated by the Welsh Millennium Centre! The architecture is a remarkable blend of modern and traditional, creating an iconic landmark. The performances I've attended here have left me speechless; the talent showcased is exceptional. The friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere add to the overall experience. A cultural gem that Wales can be proud of!

Saw a great show here... I really love the venue, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The show was great, however, I'm losing one star due to the sound. It was just a little quiet sat up the top. The orchestra and everything else was perfect,

Beautiful place! I would definitely recommend you come here if you get the chance. Me and my partner went here for a free interactive experience that accompanies ‘The boy with two hearts’ stage production and thought it was well crafted and informative. The centre itself is huge! And such a famous landmark in Cardiff Bay which should be visited even if you do not intend to watch a performance.

I am a huge musical theatre fan and I honestly would never go anywhere else other than the WMC! I’ve seen so many (20+) shows here and they’ve all been so fantastic. The staff are amazing and everyone is so helpful!

State-of-the-art theatre! What an amazing place to see amazing performances. I had the pleasure to see the Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and it was completely stunning. The building, the stage, and the staff were all fantastic. Loved it.

Saw Bluey’s Big Play, the Friday afternoon showing (we signed up to the Bluey newsletter so that when the tickets were released we could grab them early.) 💺 We sat in row AA seats 15-17 and thought they were brilliant. Lots of leg room, comfy cushions, great view. My last visit was 10 years ago and I’d forgotten what an excellent venue it is - would happily go and watch another show there and would aim for the same seats. Taken a star off as the sound wasn’t perfect, but that might have been a requirement in a show aimed at children?

Went to see We Will Rock You on April 5th after waiting nearly 2 years due to covid. What an awesome show it was in a great venue.

Visited to watch the lion king with my family. Amazing show in a very good theatre. Seats were comfy enough and set out for optimum viewing of the stage. Bars and shops had a good choice of drinks and snacks to enjoy throughout the show. The lift for disabled and elderly access to the upper levels i don’t think was enough for the amount of people requiring use. One group ended up back on the fourth floor twice where we were waiting as the lift seemingly had a mind of its own. Would definitely watch another show here in future

Went to watch Charlie and the chocolate factory last night. Very good performance 👏 excellent light effects. The second half is much better than the first half, Totally enjoyed the night out

Went to see Everyone's talking about Jamie and I have to say WOW what a show. Every single character was just truly amazing and there singing was just beautiful. My daughter loves this film and watches it over and over and was smiling constantly. And the staff at the venue are just as amazing as always they are friendly, helpful. Kind and every time I go there always makes my daughter smile. Also behind all that on the Web chat they were extremely helpful and sorted out a huge problem we had come across so I want to say a very big thank you to them as my daughter would not have seen it if it wasn't for them so thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥

Went to see Annie came out just before the break (20:28) to take some meds due to being in pain and unable to sit any long. asked stuart at the top floor bar for some soft drinks to be told I’d have to wait until the interval at 20:35. Absolute joke. The performance is very good just the seats not quite right angle for the nerve damage in my legs and back.

Situated in Cardiff Bay, the national arts centre for Wales covers 4.7 acres & has a 2,500 seating capacity, being the 2nd largest in Europe. We attended Drifters Girl the musical, direct from the West End on its UK ^ Ireland tour. We were sat in Row AA seats 28 & 30 which was 4 rows from the front & we had an excellent view of the show. For us, it was a tale of 2 halves - the cast (6 in total) were exceptionally good, they ALL had amazing voices. The storyline however was disappointing, no sparkle or emotion & no atmosphere. The 2nd half, was better but not perfect - we enjoyed it as there were many more of the Drifters hits but it too lacked the "WOW" factor

Watched The Drifters Girl in the Donald Gordon Theatre. Facilities are good the disabled could be better positioned due queuing awkwardness. The staff are very helpful. We sat in row M it's a bit far back I prefer rows E, F or G.

We have been here a few times to see performances and have enjoyed every visit. The theatre and building is a spectacular place. Every show we have seen has been fantastic. Drink prices are sky high as expected. A truly iconic building in Cardiff Bay.

A must visit while in Cardiff. I always thought this truly magnificent looking building was on the waterfront but it isn't.... But not that far. We didn't go inside but just enjoyed its enormity from Butes Place. At night it comes alive with beautiful colours. A Majestic structure that is a sight to enjoy.

Jesus Christ Superstar in the Wales Millennium Centre. Wonderful venue for the best shows. If you want to make a day of it easy, Cardiff city centre is only a 5 minute train ride away. Plenty of places to eat and drink around the venue. Facilities at the venue are ok, could have a few more bathrooms but they'll be full no matter how many you have. Best place to see shows in Cardiff, comfortable seating bars aplenty. Simply splendid.

The best theatre show I have seen so far. The show was beautifully done. The colourful stage, great music, great acting, beautiful mix of onstage performance and projections. The onstage transitions were masterfully done. Overall worth the money. My date enjoyed it 😃

I visited the Millenium Centre to watch House of Jojo starring Johannes(of strictly fame) It was amazing but I really wanted to say something about the staff. They were incredible. I recently suffered a hip replacement and the help I received was amazing. From the lift attendants to the bar staff and ushers nothing was enough trouble. Well done!!!!

Amazing venue, nice seating lots of leg room. Don't feel too boxed in. Great cafe with good hot chocolate and the coffee smelt lovely. Vegan blueberry muffin was okay bit on the heavy side. Went to see #peterpangonewrong what a great show, non stop laughing.

I always have a positive experience visiting the Wales Millennium Centre. Their productions are always to a high standard and Aladdin certainly did not disappoint this afternoon it was outstanding - highly recommend going if you can.

Check the website before you go for tickets (free) and see what's on. I didn't but as it was midweek it wasn't a problem. I enjoyed the commentary on the Rules of Art after I had seen the exhibition - it added understanding for me! The Natural History Halls are a separate entity packed full of facts and and interesting displays for younger folk. The crystal display is wonderful - nature is amazing. Pictures don't show the beauty of the formations.

We had a great time looking at the Art in the Galleries upstairs in the National Museum. It was free to enter but donations are welcome! There were many great masters including my favourite artist Monet and each painting was clearly labelled with an explanation of the work. I will return next on a weekend when the Oriel restaurant is open and spend a longer time in this fantastic venue. I will be able to spend time visiting the Museum too. There is a coffee shop serving snacks and beverages in the foyer with a nice gift shop too.

Wow, what a fabulous museum! Absolutely huge with everything you could think of and it was all for free! Lots to discover about dinosaurs and local fossils found, nature and a journey through time from when the universe began, to the present day. Upstairs was a few rooms of art and statues. It is basically a mini National history museum in London. Highly recommend!

Lovely little cafe on site that sells sandwiches, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. The walk the ages has lots to look at and loads of information boards and videos you can watch. The videos have the option to listen in welsh or English and have subtitles. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable as well, giving some amazing little facts. There are lifts on site to get between the floors. Some of the art expeditions upstairs were closed on our visit, but there is still plenty to look at. We spent about an hour and a half here, but easily could have spent longer here (I didn't get the chance to read most of the information boards due to excitable kids). Lots of parking nearby. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible. Lovely little gift shop and toilets available on site as well. Free entry, but there are plenty of donation points throughout. If you wish to donate. Some where you can put cash and some contactless donation points for card payments as well.

The museum itself and its content are great to view but staff, especially front of house need better training. There is now an Eventbrite booking system due to COVID, which is totally fine until you're told they can't find your ticket - because they weren't paying attention. Though tickets were booked in advance, the place was pretty much crowded. The one-way system is neither efficient because it is not signposted to direct you where you are and where next. No adequate signage for toilets nor lifts. Some of the staff were absolutely professional chatting with the younger ones, but others could not event bother giving the direction to the toilet, except by pointing towards it and still looking on whilst a kid was crouching in desperation. I had to ask them to assist. We didn't feel welcomed, as this security agent was literally on the neck of the group when moving through a number of rooms.

Cardiff museum is one of the best in the United Kingdom in my opinion. It's a great free, fun and interesting option to have, and good for all weathers. The classical art section here is excellent with many masters on display such as Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Turner and more. The display is well laid out and comes with information about each painting or sculpture. There is a prehistoric section with information about dinosaurs, mammoths, fossils and so on. And the museum has rotating special exhibitions which change every few months The building is also gorgeous, a fine example of Victorian era architecture

Absolutely amazing place and all free. Entry was totally free just had to pay for for parking which was around £3-4 for couple of hours. We went with family and everyone enjoyed the visit. There is plenty to explore in there, even my little one of 3 years enjoyed. You can easily spend 3-4 hours in there. There is cafeteria on the ground floor for tea coffee breakfast and reasonable seating available. Staff was very polite and friendly. Totally worth a visit. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are into art, animal and history.

Wonderful museum. Free entrance. Ideal for all ages. Best section is clearly about biology and paleontology where you will find lots of animals including high quality fossils. The building itself is huge and has lots of art. There are other sections on the museum worth to visit. Toilets are downstairs. If you visit Cardiff go there.

Firstly, the building itself is beautiful inside and out. The museum is well set out, informative, and lots to see. The ground floor focuses on the natural history of Wales, the first floor on the history of art. A casual look would probably take around an hour and a half, but it's easy to spend much longer. There is no charge to visit, but donations are welcome. Recommended.

Incredible museum. A wonderful collection of artworks and insightful exhibitions - the writing/captions complemented the work well and enhanced my experience. I loved the mix of modern & historical pottery, and overall the mix of modern & historical art. It was all brought into the context of today well. I didn't spend as long in the natural history section but this was also very well presented. I really dislike when a museum has so much that things lose their meaning, and this was not like that at all. Best museum experience I have had so far.

A rich collection of art and artifacts which would thrill the minds of history, politics and pop culture nerds in equal measure. The self guided tours can have you basking in the aura of the heydays for hours at end. Staring into the faces of the timepieces I had only seen illustrated in my History books was a one of a kind experience after all.

Enjoyed the French Impressionism paintings in the top floor of the museum; it hit my trip to Cardiff. The admission is free and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. Lots amazing collections in the museum and worth to spend a day reading and appreciating all the artwork and the historical background and creation ideas about them.

Really nice museum, suitable for visiting with children if they are bored or you are bored of them. .. We enjoyed to see the prehistoric world's exhibition with dinosaurs and other extinct creatures. The entrance is free, and I recommend!

Fantastic, educational day out in Cardiff. I learnt so much today during my visit, I loved the way the exhibition was curated, it was captivating and engaging. I couldn't take my eyes from the minerals and crystals and enjoyed learning about the history of our Earth, I found the timeline fascinating and really put things into perspective for me. The art gallery holds a great selection of works, covering a vast time period. I really enjoyed the modern art they had there. The perfect place for a rainy day or study trip.

A great place for kids, both old and young. Whether you want a quick visit, or spend hours here, there is a lot to see and is well worth a visit.

Fantastic exhibits, free fun for the whole family! We were here for hours wandering around the various exhibits. Some exhibits are displayed in cases but many are more interactive so really capture young imaginations and prompt questions and learning. The art gallery has some interesting paintings and sculptures.

Excellent museum, I was most impressed with the Natural History section. Shame I didn't have time to explore all the displays fully. A most elegant building. The shop has lots of choice too and there us a cafe

This is a fantastic museum with a lot of variety. The ground floor includes massive natural history displays that document the geological creation of Wales. They have plenty of areas for all age groups, and the walking path that follows the chronological evolution from protozoa to the dinosaurs to the Wolly Mammoths and the rise of human agriculture is amazingly well done. The first floor has a massive variety of artwork, from classics like Monet and Van Gough to modern day artists. A free museum that offers this much is rare to common across and well worth the visit.

Easy walk from the city centre, quite hard to park outside. So much to see, we have visited a lot of times to see the different exhibitions. Seen the Van Gogh display this time. Free entry, just a donation box to pay what you can afford. Nice couple of hours.

Wonderful to have such a lovely, lush green area in the town centre! Really nice park to visit, we took the water bus from Cardiff Bay which dropped us off at the park, it was great the only downside was there is a lot of litter in the water which is quite unpleasant and bad for the wildlife but the area was really pleasant.

Bute Park, nestled in the heart of Cardiff, has a rich history dating back to the 19th century when it was part of the vast estate belonging to the Marquesses of Bute. Today, it's a beloved public park offering a tranquil escape from urban life, boasting expansive green spaces, meandering paths, and picturesque views of the River Taff. It's a hub for recreational activities, from leisurely strolls and picnics to cycling and outdoor events, making it a cherished oasis for locals and visitors alike.

An oasis of calm and tranquility, loads of space a great coffee shop in the centre and opposite the millennium stadium entrance. Not convinced I’d be 100% confident walking through there late at night, but a lovely and well maintained city park. 👍

A beautiful park to explore right in the heart of the city. A couple of lovely coffee shops with limited seating indoors but plenty outdoors on dry days. Paths to follow all level ground & good for cycling too. WC's can be found in one of the coffee shops.

Dinosaur in the park, more for under 8 years old. Take a picnic and lots of drinks. The food vans are expensive (£5 for a hot chocolate, when you can go to krispykreme and get a milkshake and doughnut for £5:25). The fun fair rides are £3-£5. The Dinosaur are cool, and the walk around to find them is good. There are some really big carnivore dinosaurs that are really amazing. Enjoyable time with the bouncy castle and golf in the price of the tickets. The park itself is a nice place to walk and picnic! Some play areas and lots of benches to rest on. There are a few cafe places spread out around the area. You can walk to and from the town shopping centre.

It is a large park near the castle whose walls are called animal walls since the walls have statues of animals. The park has big and had green and lush trees of which some are quite big and old. There are boat services starting from the park. It provides a view of the castle as well.

We had a lovely time visiting the winter light festival. There were plenty of places to eat and drink, and the toilets were ok considering the use they were getting. The paths were flat and easy to walk along. Everyone young and old seemed to enjoy themselves. For a 1st time visit we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 🎄👍

Great experience but certainly not cheap. It was like a Disney park with music using light shows worth a visit suitable for all walking abilities pretty much flat no steps accessible if you have walking difficulties. Some food stalls Yorkshire pudding wrap for £8 !!! Got a bit crowded at the end where everyone stops to take a few pictures

Great two hours in the beautiful park. No wonder it's called Bute!! The Dinosaurs in the Park exhibition was great fun for children of all ages, our 15 and 21 year old grand daughters loved it as did my wife and I, eternally young. Food stalls were not cheap but reasonable priced and what we ate we enjoyed. Noodles for some Pork rolls for others.

The park is very beautiful and you can walk along a creek or along the river. Many types of trees, sakura trees and Japanese maple trees are most beautiful.

Bute Park is a great public space in a vibrant and wonderful city, at any time of year but I thoroughly recommend going to see the lights they put on there in the winter. They are always magical, it’s a good walk, value for money and so much to see. It’s really wonderful. Went again this year, and was not disappointed.

Walked along the Taff for an autumn stroll and was blown away by the beauty of natural surroundings and city centre stood side by side. Carried on through Bute park too. Love this city, so.much more to explore.

Gorgeous park in the heart of Cardiff that's great for a walk and just to chill out. Filled with grey squirrels and it has a couple of cafes.

Went to the Christmas light trail, 23rd December 2023. Good improvement on the previous year (except it was still raining!). Good matting on the ground so not boggy like before, and a better trail length and route. Food area good, quite a big undercover area so no soggy dinner!

Bute park lights, may be expensive but the little ones loved it. Less interactive than last year but still plenty to ooh and ah about. During the day the park is a great thoroughfare to and from the city, with some lovely hidden cafes to tempt you for a coffee and cake

We went for the Christmas Lights walk. It was great. Loses one star for the high entry and concessions cost, but the walk itself was very enjoyable. Don't wake the dragon!

Small roads to get there, but plenty of parking. A wonderful over the Victorian restoration. GF Welsh cakes a bonus in the cafe.....did I mention you can get married here?

Really beautiful fairytale castle. We enjoyed our visit, something a little different from the ruins we usually go for. There is parking just outside. Beautiful views.

Superb fairy tale castle,well maintained. Can get tickets at the entrance also. Large car parking is available. Also we can get coffee and snacks. Amazing peaceful place. Great location to the side of hill.Audio tour is very useful to know the details. wonderful gift shop is there .

So happy we stopped by. This helps you see what a castle would have been like all those years ago. The audio tour was fantastic and just the right duration for younger children.

Many a Welsh kid will remember Techniquest from their schools days. A Cardiff Bay Landmark. Well it’s recently had a revamp and refit. New modern entrance, New cafe, new exhibits and more. The kids enjoyed the day there. Plenty of things to learn and try out. Some old exhibits remain which is nice to see and a throwback to my youth. A good day for the kids young and old.

Great place to bring young children who love to learn. Lots of different stations spread out over two large floors to keep them occupied for a few hours, particularly on a wet day. It's improved alot from when I visited approx 2yrs ago although still disappointed to see that a few stations weren't working. Lovely cafe there to serving drinks, cakes, baguettes etc.

Magnifique musée dédié aux sciences et techniques. On peut y faire des dizaines d'expériences scientifiques de manière ludique. Plutôt orienté pour les enfants mais les adultes comme moi y trouvent leur compte. Je pense entre autre au simulateur de vieillissement qui est un peu déprimant. More geared towards children but adults like me will find what they're looking for. I'm thinking, among other things, of the aging simulator which is a bit depressing.

We visited last weekend with 2 excited 7 year olds. They had a fantastic time learning and exploring. They especially liked the simulation of a hurricane, slide and the giant piano. We didn't use the cafe services so are unable to comment on those. Overall a great day out with fun for all ages. My Fiancé had just as much fun as the kids.

An excellent museum that makes science fun with its interactive exhibits. We really enjoyed it here and we all learnt something from our visit. Particular favourites were the wind tunnel, the water play and the earthquake simulator. I also like the theremin, an electronic musical instrument that’s played in the theme tune for Midsomer Murders.

We visited techniquest for the second time in 2 weeks. The first time we came, unfortunately the planetarium wasn’t open, as it was during term time. It was a shame as our kids are home educated, but it is what it is. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to come back and take the 3 hour drive today, purely to get to see the star tours, now that the planetarium was open. The gentleman that ran the show was wonderful. He was very informative and the show had the potential to be great. Unfortunately it seems that a number of people didn’t take notice of the fact the show was supposed to be for children 7+. There were a number of very young children and their parents talking through the entire show. I’m not referring to the interactive segments where the gentleman was asking if anyone knew the name of the planets or the galaxy we are in. I’m referring to talking over the entire show! We missed quite a bit what was said and a young child was banging their feet against the seating the entire time. A bit of feedback- if you do keep allowing young children to join in the presentation, it may be worth putting up a sign or even mentioning at the beginning of the show kindly asking that if children aren’t able to sit and listen to the show, to please take them outside so others can enjoy the show. It’s a real shame that everyone else that was trying to pay attention to the show, weren’t able to hear above the constant talking. It was a real let down.

All 3 kids loved the planetarium, they're 7 and 9. My husband was gutted we had to leave. The Ocean talk was awesome and really got my girl interested in science. Will say get there for 10am as the car park over the road was empty!

Great day out at Techniquest. It’s been a few years since we last visited and what a transformation it’s had with loads of extras for both the kids and adults. A good half a day but you have the option of wearing your wrist band, leave the venue and come back during the day. Also lovely helpful staff! Thank you

Good interactive science museum which keeps children entertained with activities. There is a gift shop and toilets on site. There is no food outlets in the building although there is a picnic area within the building where you can eat your own packed lunch. There is no actual car park there, but there is a pay and display across the road.

We really enjoyed. There are many and varied things to explore/experience. A few not working but the rest is well-kept and very good value for kids' learning. We could do with a family discount but as price is a bit high but still well worth every penny whatsoever. Kids can learn different scientific phenomenon while actually playing with them. You can easily spend 2-3 hours if not more. The cafe is very nice. Parking is not a problem since public car park is just across the road.

Good venue but definitely for more 5-12 year old than lower or higher. It'd smaller than what I remember it to be and I was disappointed in about 4 or 5 machines/games that were broken. Its in a good area for a break and you can return after lunch should you wish which is a good option. Parking is paid over the road.

Absolutely stunning park, with a large lake full of ducks, Swans, geese and a lighthouse. Fabulous park for children, lovely responsibly priced cafe for a bite to eat. Ice cream hut and plenty of clean well maintained toilets throughout the park. Added extra was the green house full of tropical plants 🪴 koi carp and turtles 🐢 😀 we had a lovely walk through the park and gardens definitely will return. Plenty of parking on the road outside.

This is a well looked after park, just a stones throw from the city. The parking can be an issue on nicer days, but we have always managed to get a space just alongside the park. I visit this place from time to time with my partner and two boys. The walk around the lake is flat and easy to get around with a 3 year old on a balance bike and scenic enough to keep a 10 year old from the dreaded use of the words "I'm bored". We popped into the cafe for a coffee and a few cookies. The coffee was really good, the kids loved the cookies. However, there was a bit of a queue (around 10 mins), there was a nice view of the lake from the cafe, and some nice artwork to keep us busy while waiting. We headed to the park next. My toddler loved the variety of slides and didn't want to leave. We grabbed an ice cream on our way back to the car from the little stall near the cafe. The ice cream went down a treat. I would recommend this place to kill a few hours with the kids.

Surprisingly big park that had some awesome botanical features/gardens as well as a nice lake and park for the kids. There is an on site cafe, ice cream/dessert/tea shop on site along with an ice cream van on the other side. It was 19 degrees when we went so the park was massively busy although it didn't stop the kids from having fun!

Beautiful place, lots of swans, geese, ducks and a heron. Free on street parking all around the park. Ice cream van, ice cream stall and cafe on site. Nice sized playground and lots of benches and grassy areas to sit for a picnic with shaded areas under the trees. Very picturesque. Dogs allowed on leads. Toilets near the entrance. There are boats but weren't available the day we were there.

One of the oldest parks in Cardiff, they used to have swimming competitions here when knitted costumes were a thing! Now full of amazing birds, the iconic lighthouse recently painted. The park with paddle boats and rowing boats in the summer. Also ice cream vans, cafe and a conservatory opposite the beautiful rose garden. Full of tropical plants and flowers, tortoise/ turtles, birds, stunning. Lots to keep adults and kids amused. Huge play area and two sets of toilets too. My favourite park in Cardiff!

Roath Park is a lovely haven within Cardiff city, as equally beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter. Our photos provided are representative during winter. If you visit the greenhouse at one end of the park. You can purchase duck feed for the birds. It’s a great day out for all.

This is an amazing place with a wonderful lake where you can watch swans, ducks and seagulls! There is a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the lake. Nearby is a big park with beautiful gardens, a large playground and a botanical garden.

We love it here! The park is amazing for the kids they have hours and hours of fun here, the ice-cream man is conveniently at the top of the park (he's also reasonably priced!) and we love the pedalos 😜 The park in whole is such a lovely walk, the conservatory is also worth a visit and so cheap to enter too!

Absolutely stunning park, has a huge gorgeous lake, a play park for children, and botanical gardens. A portion of the botanical gardens you have to pay for but it’s reasonably priced (£1-2.50 max a ticket). There is also a small restaurant an ice cream shop and also free public toilets. In summer you can also rent paddle boats which is a plus!

Such a beautiful park especially in Spring, everywhere we looked there were nests on the lake including several swan nests. We even saw three turtles sunbathing on logs and rocks.

Best park in Cardiff IMO. Been going here since I was a baby. Lovely boating lake where in the summer you can rent pedalos and rowing boats. On site there's a rather expensive pizza restaurant and the extortionate Marshfield ice-cream parlour, that will have your children crying to put your hands in your pockets. In the summer months visit the beautiful scented rose gardens that have a wide variety of blooms. Your children will love the modern soft safe play area with climbing walls, swings, seesaws and slides. My grandchildren love it here, my grandfather use to take me. It's so nice and definitely worth a visit just to walk around the lake dodging swans and ducks. Please refrain from feeding the swans and ducks with stale bread as it's not good for their digestive system, even worse the bread attracts rats who will also eat the eggs preventing the natural cycle of rebirth.

I recently visited this lovely park, and I must admit that I was quite taken aback by its beauty and tranquilly. The park is well-kept and features a great variety of plants, including trees, flowers, and greens. The grass is thick and soft, ideal for a picnic or just relaxing. The park is large and offers lots of space for people to roam around, engage in activities, or simply stroll. It was nice to see so many families with kids having a good time, as I noted. There is a playground for children in the park as well, and the young ones seemed to like it.

very lovely place for an afternoon stroll. there are cute ducks and swans. there’s a play ground for kids and two ice-cream stands. i love the greenery and the beautiful plants. it’s dog friendly as well.

According to many, roath park is the most scenic park in Cardiff. You can expect a lot of wildfowls there, and roath park wild gardens is a wild patch. Some parts are roath park looks like a tropical paradise.

A beautiful park with lots to do. There is a large lake area which is home to a large number of ducks, geese, swans and other birds. The walk around the lake is very peaceful and pleasant, although it can get quite busy on sunny days. There are formal gardens to the south of the lake, bordering the small stream that runs through the park. There are plenty of benches in the gardens and these are very popular with families in the summer. The gardens are also home to a greenhouse which houses more exotic plants and also sell plants from the park's nursery. There are two public toilet blocks here, a children's playground, cafe with views over the lakes and usually an ice cream can by one of the entrances. There isn't a designated car park but there are usually plenty of spaces on the roads running alongside the lake.

1st time in Motorpoint. Went to see The Script. Great Night. The Motorpoint is easy to get to. Plenty of hotels and car parks near by. The arena has a capacity of 5000. It has wrap around balconies. It has a good size stage so easy to see artists. Didn't try the early opening bars but a pint was £6.20. If you want a few drinks before hand go to the Traders Tavern just beside the arena. When we got there we went in and even though bar was full they were playing Script songs and the prices were very reasonable. A great way to get placefor a gig. I think that they might play the music of the artist playing the arena that night so getting you ready for the show. The seating plan for the Motorpoint is very miss leading. I thought I'd bought balcony seats but the seating was at the back of the standing area. Block 6 and 7. So if buying in those areas buy seats at the back.

It's an excellent theater or Arena to watch and enjoy your favorite Singer, group, game, show, etc... the facilities are great and suitable for anyone. Prices are cool, It's a pleasure to be there. Ahhhh. It's on #Cardiff, Wales. (LoL)

Some slight buzz from the speakers around the middle of the arena which causes some reverb and lowers sound quality is the only reason I've docked a star. Otherwise this is a really good venue, friendly staff, good atmosphere, bar prices aren't as insane as some other large arenas and service is fast. Well located and lines on entry clear quickly.

Went to see James Arthur and it was incredible! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The arena was clean, the drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was electric.

Went to see Crowded House on Monday 13 June 2022. Capacity is 5000 but it is really well organised and easy to get into and find your seat. It also empties after the show really quickly and efficiently. All in all it was a great experience.

Great venue, friendly staff. Easy but secure entry process. All good. Deacon Blue concert "All the Old 45s" was exceptionally good!

Such a lovely venue! My second time coming to Cardiff Arena, this time for JLS (was lucky enough to meet them as well before the show as I had a VIP M&G ticket). Even though it's an arena it feels quite intimate. Lovely friendly helpful staff, good facilities, such a good energy as well. Can't wait to come again!

Went to watch the Strongman Open. Great venue, well lit. Brilliant array of drinks (especially compared to some other venues we've been to recently), and the food is delicious. Would definitely recommend coming here if there's an event that takes your fancy.

Brilliant evening out at the Utilita Arena to watch Noel Gallagher last night with my husband. We had a delicious three course meal in L2 beforehand, with great options for vegetarians. The stewards were really helpful when trying to find our seats, in particular Allan and Caroline were a great help. And the staff in the box office were fantastic, truly the best in the business! Brilliant view from the balcony and really enjoyed the show. I’ll be coming here again!

I think the Motorpoint is great! I've always had a good experience when visting. City centre location, parking close by and because the venue isn't huge you can actually see the artists properly and not through a screen. I hope the Motorpoint stays open after the new Cardiff Arena opens as I'm sure there's room for both in the city.

Only two star 🌟 🌟 as all the centre seats are so crammed in ridiculously close I missed most of the show because when anyone had to move out for any reason, the whole row had to stand up, this blocks the view and spoils the show. The staff are fantastic and the parking is good. I personally will never use this venue again.

Amazing service from the staff. Prices are to be expected but worth it to sit back at a comedy event with a drink or 3 🤣. Balcony seats where much better than I thought but the seats were a tight squeeze then again that could of been the very ignorant person next to me that couldnt take a hint of 1 chair per person. Security were pleasant and helpful.

Came here the other night to watch Peter Kay and had a good experience. The seats had an excellent view, and from looking around I can imagine that there are very few seats that wouldn't have had a great view of the stage. The seats were comfortable for the show, although maybe would have enjoyed a little more leg room. There are plenty of bathrooms located around the floors, and there are a number of bars and sitting areas to visit before the show and during the interval. Staff were friendly too! Only downside was that you can't bring large bags or food/drink into the arena, but I understand this policy.

Really enjoyed the Jack Whitehall show and staff were helpful and friendly! Arrived as door opened and barely queued, was very well managed. Plenty of places to buy snacks and drinks inside the arena. Only down is that the seats are super uncomfortable, very squished in. However that would not stop me coming back to see another show, I'd just try choose an end of row seat or one with more leg room to stretch out😀

Venue okay. Price of a beer in a plastic glass extortionate. No prices showing so would have gone without. Seating not brilliant. Fold up chairs so they can move for other events. The show itself was good. Elvis on the screen with the RPO. Staff friendly.

i’ve visited this arena multiple times in the past but recently i went to the louis tomlinson show and was disappointed at the staff management. we queued since 4pm and the staff were constantly forcing us to squish together making the queue just one big clump of people. not only did this make it extremely unfair for people who had been queuing for a long time but it was also extremely frustrating when the doors opened as hundreds of people pushed forward making is impossible to get in. the staff did nothing to help. this was shocking as a few years ago i saw 5SOS live and the line was extremely organised! the distribution of water and care inside the actual venue was decent however.

Went to see Disney on Ice with my two children. The performance was brilliant, and the production and costumes were brilliant. Upon entry to venue ticket checking was fast and once inside staff were helpful in showing us to our seats. Overall a great afternoon out at a great venue.

This is my new favourite concert venue. The seats were super comfy with an amazing view (front row of the top balcony), staff were friendly and helpful (especially Rob) and all the very long queues moved very quickly so we were never waiting more than 15-20 minutes for anything. The bar on the top floor was empty and there was no queue for the loo! We had a great time - it was a lovely size - big enough to feel like a proper concert venue but small enough that you could see everything.

Fantastic for a medium sized venue. Lottery Winners, Berlinda Carlisle & Rick Astley. Really enjoyed the shows but did get a bit concerned about the people dancing on the raised seating platform, where we were sitting, but it held, as everyone was having a good time including us.

Went to a concert last night, and had one of the best experiences in a long time. It wasn't just because the band were on top form, but because of some the team at the arena we're so kind, friendly and compassionate. The box office team helped put me in a better area to help me manage my hidden disability, so wanted to say thank you for Gareth, Sean and Aimee. I've been to venues before in the past, where I've been made to feel an inconvenience because of this, but the team really strived and went that extra mile for me.

One of the older venues in the UK, and it is starting to show it’s age, although saying that the gig is always more intimate and the crowd always make up for the small size. Facilities are quite good but parking is very restricted for trucks

Great little Arena. Went there to see Gabrielle. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and easy yo get round. Multi story carparking 100 yards away and right near a shopping centre with lots of places to eat & drink. Going to see Paloma Faith there next.

Absolutely fantastic, the structure created for the sea ferry and crossing takes your breath away. We walked around the Bay following the Bay walkway and saw some amazing views over the bay. The wildlife is phenomenal

It is a very refreshing walk through in Cardiff with plenty of fresh air. The views are nice as well. It is not only water on both sides. There are lots of other activities going on. Specially the exercise place provided by adidas is so good. One of the best place in Cardiff to walk or sit down.

We took the bus over to Penarth, had a cup of tea in town and walked back over the barage. If I lived here I would be biking and hiking this way regularly. Lovely and refreshing walk.

My wife and I had a lovely walk along the Cardiff Bay Barrage this morning. It was a beautiful day, and the weather was perfect for a walk. The sun was shining, the temperature was mild, and there was a gentle breeze blowing. The Barrage is a long, slender structure that spans the mouth of Cardiff Bay. It was built in the early 2000s to create a freshwater lake in the Bay, and it has since become a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, and fishermen. We started our walk at the Barrage's southern end, near the Mermaid Quay shopping center. We walked north along the Barrage, enjoying the views of the Bay and the surrounding city. We stopped to take pictures of the boats moored in the Bay. After about an hour, we reached the Barrage's northern end, near the Penarth Headland. We turned around and headed back south, stopping to take in the views of the Bay from different angles. We had a wonderful time on our walk along the Cardiff Bay Barrage. It was a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a morning. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a scenic and peaceful place to walk in Cardiff.

A wonderful marvel of engineering and a mighty sight when in operation. Hosts a wonderful walk from mermaid quay up to Penarth via the Wales coast path, which is superb on a sunny day. All right by the Sea on one side, and the bay on the other. Well worth a trip.

Great simple enjoyable trip out. Two mile walk along traffic free road to or from Penarth. Witnessed the locks and bridges open, was fun. Really lovely walk on a pleasant sunny day. Bike hire available too if your not fancying the walk. An unexpected delight.

An amazing walk It’s always refreshing Connecting the Cardiff bay with Penarth

My first trip to see the Cardiff Bay barrage and I was impressed. There is a spacious car park next to the lock which is inexpensive/ You can watch boats going in and out of the lock either going to or from their safe moorings behind the barrage. One or two of the buildings look like they need an overall but the modern buildings are in keeping with the area and have done a lot to rejuvenate the area. There are special car parks for boat owners to park their vehicles when visiting their craft. There are also coffee shops and restaurants to visit too.

Nice little opening and closing bridge connecting Cardiff to Penarth. Made a small video showing the bridge in action as well. Nice tourist attraction if you are visiting the city of Cardiff.

You can park on both sides of the barrage (not free) more parking available on the Cardiff side,then go and watch boats go from inside the bay out to sea. When large boats go through you see the barrage lift up. Bike hire available but it's a pleasant walk around the bay. You can walk past the Welsh assembly building, the Norwegian church, plus many other attractions. Take a boat trip up the river Taff to the heart of the city and see the magnificent rugby stadium then up the river Ely pass the boat club to see the abundance of wildlife that lives on its bank. I tend to go to the barrage to fish for all the usual channel species and accasionally catch a decent Bass. But on other visits I love to take the grandchildren for a walk around and the boat trip which I never get bored with.

Sailing out through the barrage is always an easy experience. Professional staff maintain the operation in a friendly manner. Always willing to help if they can. Each lock is very deep, and the pump out is smooth. Once the outer gate opens it is an easy bit of navigation out to the buoyed channel. Returning through the barrage is equally easy, however it is important to ensure that you have good moorings, especially if near the inbound gate. The water does become quite rough.

Beautiful Cathedral. One of the "must see " in Cardiff. 15- 20 m drive from Cardiff Castle or centre. Car park 1 min walk from cathedral "FREE of charge 2 h" wich is just enough time to visit. If u are lucky like we got, u can enjoy even the music played at "pipe organ"

Great place to visit if you want to experience history. Old meeting new (traditionally placed altar with side benches for the most prominent members of the congregation transitioned into modern church setting with the priest facing the brethren). If you go off the side cemetery, you will find the old one that has not been maintained - the nature reclaiming the burial grounds, in a sense closing the cycle of earthly existence...

Just beautiful inside and out, a nice lady greeted us as we went in and offered a sheet that give interesting information about the church which was really nice to walk around and read up as we went along and learn. They have a lovely gift shop inside also😊

What an amazing performance. Myself and my mother would like to thank candleight and the performers for this evening the beatles are my mothers favourite band. We will definitely be attending another one of these spectacular nights xx highly recommend everyone was so warm and friendly too xx
