A UNESCO world heritage site located in the heart of the city. Absolutely stunning as it stands high in the sky. I could not stop admiring it as I stood for a long moment in the market square. Buying the tickets in advance is absolutely recommended. Unfortunately we could not enter inside because of the long waiting time, but the pictures from other visitors look really promising. Will definitely go to the top in our next visit.

It’s the city centre of Brugge (a city of historic importance in Belgium). This place has wonderful 360 degree panoramic views with beautiful architecture in Bruges. This area is surrounded by coffee shops, shopping area, stores and restaurants are nearby. The center is always lively. It's a must visit area if you are in Bruges.

800 year old clock tower of Bruges with 366 steps up to the top. Well worth the ticket price for the views from the top. If you book your tickets for 20 minutes before the hour, you should make it to the top as the clock chimes. Amazing experience.

Valuable time spent well with a climb to the top. Staff were friendly and helpful. Especially the kindly spoken young lad with the 3 day growth. The walk to the top was a tight fit at times and rewards the punter with not only an amazing view but a close up demonstration of the bells at work every 15 minutes. Beautiful Bruges

Magnificent specimen of architecture! You must visit the Belfry during different times of the day. At dawn, it's tranquil and you can enjoy the tower without the distractions of large crowds. At night, the lighting brings out a different side of the tower. In the afternoons, there is a lot of commercial activity in the square and you can see the square being enjoyed by the locals. See the photos and videos for views of the Belfry and its chimes being played. It is unfortunate that lots two stroke motorcycles and mopeds regularly pass through the square and disturb the peace. They are so incongruous here.

The city’s primary landmark and tourist attraction. The climb is only for the very fit but the rest of the building and its square are a nice place to just hang out and soak in the city. Tourist trap alert: there are many “rickshaws” you can rent from the square for a city tour.

Historic bell tower in the city center of Bruges. There are about 275 steps to the top and the view from up there is worth the climb. You can have a panoramic view of the old city with canals and other churches and towers. If you have time, then I suggest that you book the tickets in advance to watch the sunset, if the weather permits.

We paid 15 Euro to climb the 366 steps and it can be quite dizzy because of the constant spiral loop. But it didn’t take as long as we thought, nor was it as tiring as expected. There are platforms at different levels with information where you can take a respite from the climb. Beautiful view once you reach the top.

I had a nice time there. Excellent view from the top, but be ready for a long climb up. We did not buy tickets in advance, all were sold but luckily someone did not show so they let us in. I would advice you to buy tickets in advance, not to risk. People working there are polite and welcoming.

Nice view from the top of it but unfortunately there is net all around so you can take good picture with the view. Booked your ticket online to climb up 300 stairs. It is interesting to see the inside and learned some history. The stairs are a bit steep but given that they control the amount of people going up per time slot it’s not too crowded.

Climbing the belfry was an amazing experience. It is not as tiring as I expected, since there are stops along the way up where one can rest. That said, the ticket price (at €14 on my visit) was a little much for a simple access to the steps with no extra features.

A must visit if you're in Bruges...and definitely if you've seen the movie. Tickets can be bought at the time or in allocated time slots in advance online. The stairs start off reasonably wide but get very narrow the nearer you get to the top. Anyon of a reasonable fitness level will be perfectly fine but don't worry as there are a few zooms on the way up that you can stop at should you need a rest. The views from the top are stunning although there is a wire mesh covering all the openings at the top. If the bell tolls at the top it will.probably make you jump. Overall I'd say it's pretty good value for money

Historic place to see in Bruges. Lost of cafe and restaurant nearby. The centre in front of belfry is always lively. The look from the history museum of Bruges is nice, covering the centre, belfry and all around. Must visit area. Will also find the city tour van and tourists guide in front of it.

Recommend you buy tickets online in advance, or at the vending machine at the bottom of the tower , or last instance at the entrance. There are tickets / time-slots , so they run fast (I think max 25 for every 20min) The climb is indeed manageable, as there are floors in between.

Really enjoyed going up the Belfry, 300+ steps, but worth the price and effort to get amazing views over Antwerp. As you ascend, there are areas to rest, if needed, and learn more about the belfrys history. If you time it right, you will also see and hear the huge musical drum work as it strikes the time. The top bit is protected from birds by a black plastic mesh, but its easy to get round this for photos, by lining up your phone or camera lens to get the awesome pics! Staff were friendly and welcoming too👍

Very worthwhile to visit and to take all 366 stairs to the highest accessible point. Mind you, stairs are quite narrow and it takes a serious effort. Breathtaking view especially with clear weather, obviously. Ticket vending machine can be found in the passage that goes under/through the belfry tower building.

I enjoyed climbing up this tower. You can see Brugge 360 degrees. Also, we were up there when the bell rung. It was loud but it was very neat to see the hammer hitting the bell... If you want to go to this tower and a number other points of interests in Brugge, get the Museum package for 3 days. It is worth it.

Great fun going up the 366 narrow winding steps. We picked a very windy day which added to the experience!! An amazing mechanical display as well as the bells and you can hear them playing tunes at certain times.

We really wanted to visit it and when we arrived at 16.55 there was only one ticket available from 17.00. The gentlemen at the counter were very kind and still gave us two tickets. If you can plan to arrive at a certain time, I recommend you book tickets, otherwise you might not find tickets. The access staircase is quite narrow and those going down have priority. It is worth 15 euros and all the 366 steps for a fantastic view.

We climbed up in the evening after dark. I imagine the views would have been better during the daylight hours but it was still nice to see the city lights and also the history of the tower. The stairs aren't too difficult to climb (for an early 30s couple) with plenty of landings and floors to take breaks at, however the spiral staircase is quite narrow in places so maybe not the best for people who are nervous of confined spaces. We bought tickets online in advance and not have to queue to get in.

You get to see a great view of the city, but not anything special. I recommend to book your ticket prior to your visit there, so you can get in at the time you want, however you can book the ticket the same day at the entrance, but probably there will be a spot at least a couple of hours later. There're 366 steps you get to climb, some of them were really small; dutch-type steps. I don't believe it's worth the 15€.

Amazing view of the city and the literal central point of the city. We reserved and booked time slots the day before to go up but also it sells out quickly so try to book as early as possible. We also went on a weekend but it was in February. Lots of climbing but its not too bad, there are multiple levels you can stop and relax. The one right before the top is nice, you can see how the bells work. Last is the pure lookout point and you have a nice view of the city.

The Belfort or Belfry is the iconic landmark in the center of Bruges. It’s a medieval bell tower built around the year 1240. We bought tickets online for a Tuesday 9:40 time slot. The booking system is super easy because it tells you how many tickets are left for each time slot, and you don’t need to book too far in advance. There weren’t too many people when we went but there were already people coming back down. There are some areas of the climb that are narrow, so just be mindful of that. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the top and when you get up there, it is so cool! You see the actual bell (beware, it’s LOUD, obviously since you’re right next to it) and you can look down on the square. Although it’s not a complete 360 view since the bell blocks some of the access, it’s still a sight to see. The whole experience from going up, taking photos at the top, coming back down took us about 45 minutes. It did start getting a bit more crowded when we were heading back down, so my recommendation is to go early. Definitely a must see if you’re in Bruges!

One of the best brewery tours I’ve ever been on across the US and Europe! Their food is delicious and the beer is award-winning; their tripel won best (gold) in Europe for 2023). A definite must-stop if looking for good food and beer combinations!

The tour is fun and interesting. Tourguide had some witty humor and is passionate about the brewery. Tour is not welcome for dogs, but the restaurant is! We went there in the afternoon for our beer that was included with our admission for the tour and in the evening for some dinner with our dog. Food is good and the beer is great, it tastes better when you know their history and process.

Amazing brewery in the heart of Brugge! Very helpful staff and quite packed for lunch time, luckily they got us a table without reservation but had no luck with the tour of the brewery. They have a wide selection of their own Belgian style beers on tap or bottled. They have a pipeline in their brewery that goes over 3 km to their new factory. The food was really good and traditional Belgian style meals. The decorations of the establishment is quite homely with a terrace and a restaurant to chose. Very good beer, specially the blond quite more refreshing from the tap!

Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan brewery (home of Zot) is a great place to relax and unwind. The outdoor seating is perfect for a nice day, but there's plenty of indoor seating as well. Our group of 6 was seated right away outside. Service was prompt, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Everything was nice and clean too. We just stayed for drinks, and were not disappointed - their beer is awesome. I'd definitely recommend building some time into your trip to stop by and enjoy a few pints.

Very knowledgeable guide. They asked which language. Last tour of the day when we checked in . Some of the museum is still making the beer, but no person seen overseeing it as it bubbled along. Some stairwells are not for the unsteady. We didn't go right to the top to see the view. Going down backwards on the way down and out. Still a highlight to go. Had difficulty finding the brewery, but differently recommended going. Free beer was much needed.

We went for the brewery tour and it was great! They take you through all of the brewery where they still make some beer, they show you the evolution of the brewery from the start to present day. It was better than we expected. They take you to the roof where you get a really nice view of the town. At the end, you get to taste their beer or even enjoy some food in the restaurant. It was a great experience and I really recommend it!

A great place to drink very fresh beer just brewed in the Brewery. There is also a Museum that you visit and see how the beer is produced and have also a degustation session. I would highly recommend it.

Will start by saying just visit the place if you are beer lover. Their unfiltered version of beer is so tasty and would recommend their beer tour for everyone where we get to chose either one or three beers and their beer history is worth listening to where in at the same time we will support them to keep this place in the heart of this beautiful town.Everything about the brewery is awesome including the tour of the brewery, their history and of course their beer.Tour offers an amazing rooftop view of the city which was incredible and can buy the beers at the store as well. all in all an awesome experience to anyone whether you are a beer lover or not. Go for it.

Great place with a very unique atmosphere, really good choice of local beers which were very good. The menu looked great too however we were there too late to order anything, what a shame! Maybe next time, as well as a tour in the brewery. Very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Lots of tables to sit and enjoy a beer of your choice.

One of the best brewery tours I have been on! Having been to at least a dozen different brewery tours, this one was the most educational about beer. Most tours will try to entertain you with bells and whistles, this one will give you the ins and outs of over 175 years of brewing history. To top it off you'll have one of the best views of the city at the pinnacle of the tour. Be prepared to do many stairs and they will be steep. At the end of the tour you will have earned yourself a lovely non-pasturized beer in their welcoming tavern or terrace. The guide was excellent. Tours are available in Dutch, English, or French.

It was our second time here on an excursion. Both times were different guides and it was a different experience and approach. But both times were interesting. After the tour, you could taste beer on a choice and seat in the restaurant with a nice view of the channel. Both times we hang here on the tasting for 2 hours as good.

We loved the tour here. While still functional, much of the brewery is a museum to how the process used to work. The active brewing is more compact and bottling happens off-site. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and we appr coated option for an English tour. The beer at the end was 👌.

Great place to eat, the food is delicious and quickly served. The waiters are very nice and attentive. The meat stew is very nice and delicious. We did not like their kriek beer it was too sour. The shop is small but has a good selection of beers. Near the entrance you can also see the beer pipeline that they build.

If you're interested in beers, you're gonna love this tour. It's a guided tour through their brewery, and it also include a beer at the end. In the end you will find a huge restaurant with great beers from the brewery. A little tip is to use some extra money to buy one of their Heritage bottles.

Make sure to visit on weekday since the master brewers do not work on weekends and you won’t see the tanks full.

I went for lunch and a beer, not for a brewery tour. Was not disappointed! Both the beer and the lunch (Belgian beef stew with chips) were excellent.

Such a serene and peaceful place of worship with rich history and basilica of the holy blood. It gives you emotional uplift to see such a precious relic on view only on Fridays. A place must to pay respect and visit while in Bruges. 🙏🏼

This is quite a different kind of church, with the focus being on where the holy relic is housed. There was a bit of a line to see it, but it was worthwhile. There is a museum inside that has a lot of artwork and objects. The best part was seeing the architecture which was very different form typical churches. Lots of bricks, and brick vaulted ceilings. The entire back of the main room was a painted fresco. There were very interesting and well-done stained glass circles depicting everyday life that was in the museum area. There are lots of stairs, so be mindful when you visit. Even the architecture outside was unique to this particular church- possibly because this building was touching others and was not a typical free-standing church as most are. Definitely worth a visit if in Bruges.

This historic church is located very close to the bell tower in Bruge. There is a museum as well for which you have to pay 6 € to get in. The inside of the church on the 1st floor is beautiful. Currently half of the main prayer area is under renovation. But if you are in Bruges then you should visit this beautiful old church. Very peaceful too.

Almost inconspicuous tucked away in a corner by the main medieval entrance into Brugges, this minor basilica is believes to house a piece of cloth with Christ's blood which is within a white side Chapel to the side of the main church. The reliefs felt more orthodox than Catholic actually with frescos within gold panels under a wooden roof. Solemn place worth taking a moment to ponder with respect. Free to enter donations are welcomed.

The church is located near the main church. When you see a building with a gold, it should be the church. You can enter the building for free from morning until around 17:00 You must not make any noise. You are allow to take some pictures. They have paid tour inside the church if you are interested. The decorations look beautiful and amazing. You can pray in the church.

Entry to the Basilica is free of charge and there's no waiting. Between 12 and 16, you can view the relics of the Most Holy Blood of Christ. You might need to wait in a queue (I waited 20 minutes). You can make a voluntary donation and spend a moment in prayer before the Relics.

I was fortunate to experience the mesmerizing atmosphere of this 12th-century chapel in Bruges, Belgium. Beautiful basilica situated in Bruges and which is divided in a upper one, where the Holy Blood Relic between 14.00 and 16.00hrs. is offered to visitors for veneration, and a lower basilica which is smaller. Both are beautiful but the upper basilica has still my preference 😊

Stunningly beautiful! The small facade of the basilica is deceiving because it is actually much bigger from the inside ! The illumination was very faint making it difficult to appreciate the details of the basilica

A small basilica, very different from the others in Bruges, but a truly holy place. It can be crowded but it's worth standing in line to worship the Holy Blood. Here I was the most impressed and emotional in Bruges.

We visited this place for free and there was step free access via a lift although you have to ask the staff to get there. Interior looks amazing with the relics etc. if you want to visit treasury you have to spend an extra 5 euros which is not really worth it.

I'm very impressed by the beauty of this basilica. The relic, the Holy Blood of Christ was brought from the Holy Land by Thiery of Alsace, Count of Flanders. It's really worth a visit. Look for the priest on a raised altar, there is where the relic was kept. He will also give you a small pamphlet. Donation is optional.

Very nice area. Has quite a bit to do in the area including shopping, food, and experiences. It seems to be quite a popular area so prepare to walk through quite a bit of crowds but the views and architecture is definitely worth the walk through.

Quite crowede on weekedays or just anytime after noon. There were some local markets selling local produce. The famous city hall is just at the square.

Nice area with nice view,a place where you can spend your time with a nice view, good food and drinks and many other activities. Very crowded during weekends, you have many places to sit and enjoy your time, many restaurants and bars also are available, also tea rooms and coffee shops. You can arrive thier by walking or with the bus, good for families and kids. Close to the city center and shopping area.

If you feel like exploring the real historic monuments and architecture, burg square or I should say Bruges in Belgium is a place to be. Plan your visit along with your friends or family and enjoy your stay for couple of days in Bruges. Must visit. Me and my family loved the overall place and the ambience this place has. Do take a boat ride as well to explore the city.

Very peaceful and quiet place. I felt calm and humble while walking inside this little village. Also liked the idea of helping women in need but no means back in the day.

Very nice place it has a lot of history hidden there. The atmosphere is nice and you can feel safe. It is better to go with a local guide to hear the explanations. In there there is a small shop with very nice things you can buy an it is not so expensive. Totally recommended to understand why the name of the city in Spanish is so different as it is in other languages.

Not much to do here exactly, but it was probably the most picturesque place I visited in Brugge. It was a bit more low-key than the other massive cathedrals etc, but I really liked just walking through the courtyard and quietly viewing the less ostentatious church.

A must-see in Brugge. Quaint, restful and above all, beautiful oasis in the city's old center. There's a similar place in the city I'm originally from, but the one in Brugge is quite a bit larger and even better taken care of. The added picture shows a top view from the brewery "De Halve Maan" close by (I figured there's enough pictures from within the garden's themselves already)

Beautiful and quiet. It's a very old convent with gorgeous buildings and a tranquil garden. Surrounded with a little park and canals, it's very beautiful. Great stop for a quiet break or little stroll.

Heritage site because this ised to be the lodgings of single women who worked their careers instead of being married off which means it was quite advanced back in the days. Very serene and peaceful environment.

Beautiful place in Bruge. There were quite a lot of tours taking place when we visited, and it was quite busy. We saw one nun while here, but respected their privacy and did not take photos. In all, a nice serene visit.

Beguinage of Bruges is one of the most enchanting and serene places in the city. In the 13th century, it was established for the beguines, a semi-monastic community of women. A must see on your list of things to do in Bruges.

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Bruges — a must see. I highly recommend stopping by ESPECIALLY if you are visiting in late March / early April because there are tons of daffodils that bloom in the green spaces between the walkways.

Must visit if you are in Bruges for the serene and beautiful lake view with a legend. You can take beautiful shots in front of the lake. Legend has it that you can make your love eternal by kissing on the bridge or get your wish fulfilled by bringing a lock and putting it on the bridge.

Beautiful Place. Some Restaurants can be a big pricey. If Your buying a few Or lots of beers. You are better off going to the Bottle Shop in Brugge or a Supermarket for value. Nothing against small businesses. But the price difference is a big gap. And some places won't let U go toilet unless Your a Customer. Even if Ur willing to pay. They turn U away.

It’s a lovely and peaceful park

Nice museum with extensive history on how chocolate was discovered, how it spread around the world, and of course how cocoa and chocolate are made. The exhibits are great and the audio tour really well done. There's not a lot of interactive stuff going on though. I've been to a variety of chocolate museums in different countries, and this one looked the newest, shiniest, but had the fewest tasting stations. There's really only one place at the end, where they do a little presentation of how to make filled chocolates (it really just how to fill the moulds, they don't go through the chocolate and filling making process) where you can taste a few different varieties of chocolate buttons. It's nice, just a bit sterile without the level of interaction I'm used to from other chocolate museums.

This is a great museum worthy of a visit. 4 stars instead of 5 only because on entering they didn't ask if we wanted to see the lamp/light exhibit (we noticed it on the last part of our visit) and a few of their monitor displays were down, otherwise, 5 stars. Did you know coffee beans were a currency base? I don't think anyone visiting this place will be disappointed.

During my visit to Brugge, I decided to indulge in the chocolate heritage of Belgium at Choco Story. Spread across four floors, this museum offers a captivating journey through the history of chocolate, something Belgium is renowned for. At €11 for an adult ticket, it's reasonably priced. While it does promote itself as family-friendly, I found it a bit challenging for younger children in pushchairs or those needing wheelchairs. There is a lift, but certain sections remain inaccessible. The highlight was the optional chocolate-making class towards the end, although it comes with an additional charge. Plus, the unlimited selection of chocolates, courtesy of the sponsoring chocolate maker, was a delightful treat. While it might not rank as the best museum experience, it's worth considering if you find yourself in Brugge and have an affinity for chocolates.

Nice museum with very detailed (sometimes too much detailed) information. Also some free chocolate in the end and the demonstration (not that spectacular one in an overcrowded room). If you are planning to take the audio guide (which is recommended, a lot of languages are supported), bring the headphones and expect to spend there 2 - 2.5 hours. 1 hour is definitely not enough, don’t come on 4 pm. It took us around 15 minutes waiting in the queue on Saturday afternoon, despite we had the tickets already. One line is for all, not so well organized.

Visiting chocolate museum was amazing! Even if it was weekend and full by people you didn't had to wait for too long in order go get inside. They also have a story line in many different langauges so you can learn so much about the chocolate. They did also a live demonstration and you have the chance to taste the chocolate in 3 types white, dark or classic.

Descent museum to explore for an hour or so. Our 7 year old loved tapping his audio guide at all of the info points to hear explanations of the exhibits. Our 5 year old preferred the little games dotted around the floors and mostly the free chocolate button samples. The praline making demo was very good.

When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the museum was full, but they told us to come back an hour later and then there were tickets available. Seeing chocolate as a whole in a historical context before getting deeper into the actual process is interesting. I just wish the beginning of the audio guide was a bit clearer and maybe a bit of an introduction is missing. But the audio guide got better and is still worth a listen in my opinion. At the end of the museum, there was a little show how chocolate was made.

Ok for one time visit, e-audio will take you through origin of chocolate. Live demonstration counter also you get to eat chocolates to your satisfaction at the 'all you want to eat station' you can also enjoy Animation video of chocolate factory.

I would give this museum a high rating for the precious artifacts it is displaying, it is a small museum but it has many rooms inside to enjoy, created in 2004. I am certain it did take some time & effort in setting up this place. I did not like the audio thingy that you swipe and put on your ear to listen to each story, and I did not like that this place was very crouded, it was too stuffy inside. I don't recommend to come on a busy day because it is small, and it you don't like museums perhaps this is isn't your thing. And don't put high expectations on getting much free chocolate with your ticket, you need to buy the good stuff.

Fantastic experience! We couldn't visit the one in Brussels due to time restraints and wondered if this one would still be excellent... it was! At first, it feels like any old museum, but it ends up becoming something much more interesting towards the end. Make sure to turn left at the bottom of the stairs when you're done, so you can see the statues, watch a live demonstration of praline making (and sampling) and have All You Can Eat Belgian chocolate! 😁

I enjoyed the museum. You get an audio guide device, every expositions have wireless chip and you just scan the chip and listen. It takes you from origin of chocolate through history and how chocolate became fenomenon in the world and shows you how chocolate is made. At the end visitors can taste different chocolate chips and choco-chef explain how pralines are made. With tasting of course. 😋 There is small exhibition of chocolate art too. And mandatory souvenir shop with all kinds of chocolate merchandise. Also apart from museum ticket, people can buy entry to chocolate workshop where i believe people can go through the process of making pralines themselves. Seems nice for kids.

Pretty informative museum, though in my opinion it overstays its welcome. Most of the tour is a self-guided audio tour, and they go through the entire history of chocolate. Kids would probably enjoy it way more than adults. The live demonstration is easily the highlight though. Definitely stick around and wait for it if you have to.

Very underwhelming as a museum. I was excited about chocolate history, while the museum is good, they need to work on the audio narration. It's horrible, sometimes it plays, sometimes it doesn't. Plus there are like 78 different audio waypoints for a small building; they're too much and it gets pretty boring. But they do have some fun games you can play and the best part is that at the end you get free chocolates (kind of as much as you can eat).

Very informative exhibition about chocolate from cocoa variety, plantation, harvesting, export, and the making of variety of chocolate. The ticket is worth it. And it’s fun and interactive.

The best part is that you can have Unlimited 4 different chocolates at the end, it is necessary after all the things you see. The place gives a good idea about how chocolate is made, but very old. I got an ancient listening device with no battery left in it... Also, does not give any museum vibe. Still they have good historic stuff.

☑️ This is a museum that is great for families with younger children as there is an all you can eat chocolate section, lots of cute characters and things to see, and it teaches them about the history of chocolate in an immersive way. The rooms were decorated well, and there was an interactive cacao mixing game which made it more engaging. ❎ As an adult, I found it quite juvenile and the audio tour was really quiet on the handheld device, with the volume being ‘locked’ to avoid users tampering with the settings. We also figured that you could just press ‘>>’ to go the next sound clip rather than scanning the button in the room. Additionally, the museum was EXTREMELY busy, so it was very overwhelming on the senses- it got very hot and smelly in the rooms, and it was really loud too. The movie section at the end was really poor, with outdated animation from seemingly decades ago which didn’t teach anything new, but instead silently demonstrated what you’d already been taught, but with bad quality magical animations. Lastly, the museum is across three floors with no elevator that I saw, and the rooms are quite tight around the exhibits. Therefore I wouldn’t say it is reliably accessible to wheelchair users. I wouldn’t say that this museum is worth visiting unless you need to entertain your children for a few hours. Workshop: I bought my partner a chocolate making workshop here, and that was great fun. We piped chocolate into shapes (terribly) and then we’re taught ways of decorating. This was great, and I’d give it 4 stars. It was the museum that wasn’t as enjoyable.

Awesome place if you're into chocolate! A good part of the museum goes in-depth on how Cocoa beans were harvested and processed throughout history, as well as how the different types of chocolate are made. There are also plenty of chocolate art pieces/statutes to be seen. The final part of the museum consists of a free tasting area, as well as a live demonstration of how pralines are made, after which, of course, the pralines are given to the audience to enjoy. All in all, awesome experience and lots of chocolate to be eaten as part of it, too.

I strongly recommend you to get tickets and visit this museum as it is very informative and enjoyable. You learn lots of things about the city’s history, social and cultural life throughout the centuries. If you are not in the mood of visiting a museum, just get in to the ground floor and have a look around and notice interesting things here as well. By the way, there is the Brugge information desk on the ground floor where you can get free maps, brochures etc about Brugge and the staff is very helpful

This was a cool experience! I would recommend going in the second half of the day as it wasn’t busy at all when I attended at 16h:30. I had the whole experience on my own. The pub is great as well and if you purchase your ticket online it’s just a very small bit cheaper. The VR part is good too. Nice upper outdoor space over the square above the pub is cool. Enjoy

We had a fabulous visit. We did the Virtual Reality, that in itself was an experience and would highly recommend. Excellent visit, thoroughly enjoyed and an absolute treat to enjoy the panoramic views of beautiful Bruges. The staff were friendly and helpful and I personally would visit again.

It is the attraction that is worth to visit. Virtual reality tour brings you to medieval Brugge, one of the most prosperous European towns at that time. It is followed by a fascinating fictional story on one of Van Eyck’s (Flemish primitive painter) masterpieces. Kids will definitely like it. Eventually, you finish at the Duvel bar.

Definitely worth a visit! Super informative and fun. Wasn’t busy at all. You’re given a head set which you listen too as you’re walking around the museum. We did the virtual reality, museum and tower. Not too expensive. There are many many steps to the top of the tower and it is very narrow at the top but you get amazing views of Bruges! You do however have to pay to use the toilets.

I was very impressed by Historicum museum. We bought a tickets for Virtually Reality (if you are there I would recommend to check this) and for the tower. Ticket was around 30 euro for all. View from the tower was amazing. And after you can take caffe/drink in the bar down.

Beautiful architecture beyond words. Horse ride tour €60 Bus tour $20/pax Bike tour (forgot to ask) Else you can explore the place for a good 2-3hours. But if you shopped a lot, a good half day is good.

Lots of fun! An immersive video experience of a love story set in 15th century Bruges. You wander through rooms designed from that period and watch the video clips. Gives you a real sense of life in that era in this beautiful town.

Modern interactive walk through bygone Bruges. The audio/visual tour was very good as well as the 3d experience paid for separate. Lots of goodies for sale in the curio shop. Relax with a cold local beer in their pub. We climbed the tower for a panoramic view of the market plain below. A must visit if you have limited time, but enquire before you go as it can get busy. Book online or at the door.

This museum was really interactive, and we enjoyed walking from room to room, which felt like you were in medieval Bruges. But the story linking the rooms was very weird and didn't really connect well with giving an overall history of Bruges.

Staff informative and friendly. Nice views at the top of the tower. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. Cafe/bar upstairs where you can get some nice drinks. There is a QR code on your receipt in order to use the toilets so don't forget to scan of you need to go 😁🇧🇪

A great stop to appreciate the city’s past and how things have changed for the past 500-600 years since its golden age. Cleverly told through story telling, the experience includes interesting VR and nice view of the market from the second floor balcony.

Incredible experience there. One of the best museums I've ever visited. Perfect combination of the history and the modern technology. The hosts guide you through a personal story of a young boy and a girl and meanwhile you see all the places and the living of the people in Bruges. I recommend it to all visitors.

Best brewery experience! The beer was ice cold, fresh, refreshing, and tasty! I highly recommend this excursion and historical experience. The tower tour is very steep and narrow. I’m slender and somewhat fit—I was huffing and puffing all the way up. I didn’t do the VR experience but it looked really cool.

A fantastic church the architecture is really interesting and it also has a lot of exhibits in it.really interesting and the history is amazing. There is a piece of wall with the old Muriel on it from after 1380, There is a sculpture with a piece of arm bone from St. Anthony the Abbot. There is a painting 'Our Lady of Perpetual Succour' 1660 and lots more.

Wow wow wow! The inside of this cathedral is beautiful! Very easy to read signs in multiple languages are placed hear statues, artwork, and points of interest. They even have a Michelangelo "Madonna and child" to view.

Beautiful museum with an original Michaelangelo sculpture inside. As a Bruges resident I was able to visit cost-free, but the price is definitely worth it nonetheless.

One of my favorite churches in the world. Absolutely beautiful. You can enter the church for free but it is very much worth the price to see the additional areas with the painted graves, additional frescos, coats of arms of the knights of the golden fleece, tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold, and of course Michelangelo's Madonna with Child sculpture.

How can one resist to see a Michelangelo sculpture? Many other beautiful paintings and sculpture in the church too. Oh and!! here is the tomb of last Duke of Burgundy Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary who died fell off the horse, thus handing the Flanders territory to Austria. What a sad ending to a magnificent medieval power.

The tallest building in Bruges, but you can't climb into the tower. Part of the church has free access, if you want to visit the museum as well, you must buy tickets before entering the church (8 euros). Anyway, there are many nice things to see.

Well organized, Friendly staff! Loved that they had these signs/cards next to almost every pieces of art which had multiple languages and explaining it to lone travelers like me who didn’t have any expert guide to do that for them

Beautiful place pop into for a visit if in Brugge. The pulpit has to be seen to be believed and the vaulted ceiling is simply an amazing feat of engineering! Some beautiful religious iconography to view including a reliquary with some of the arm bone of St. Anthony The Abbot (in pics). There is another area with more art but this is a paid area and we didn't visit this time.

So many beautiful pieces of art in addition to the actual parts that make up the church itself. Somewhat crowded but the size of the church allows all to feel unhurried. Sat for a while just gazing at the Madonna statue but there's much more to see. Highly recommend!

The collection of art from several centuries and locations here is astonishing. While the church and museum will not take you a lot of time to see, it is well worth the visit. Parts are free, but if you want to see Michelangelo’s Madonna a child, it will cost 8 euro (which is well worth it).

More beautiful than the cathedral with interesting medieval painted coffins. Of course you must see the Michael Angelo sculpture. It's absolutely beautiful and well displayed

Must visit when in Brugge! Buy an entrance ticket in the museum ticket office (grey metal construction to the left from church entrance) if you wish to see the Tomb of Mary of Burgundy and the statue of Madonna with child by Michelangelo.

If you’re in Bruges don’t miss this. The only Michelangelo outside of Italy is housed in this church. There’s an €8 fee to go into the area of the church housing many of its most precious assets. We came on a Sunday afternoon & it was not crowded at all but neither was the town.

A magnificent place full of amazing pieces of art. You can enter the church free of charge, but half of it is available to see only with tickets. It's worth it! It's so impressive to see so many original ancient paintings.

There was no wait for entrance or tickets. I visited on a Sunday early afternoon. The whole experience is very isolated, which I liked a lot :) it's also self paced. Which allows you to determine how quickly you want to get through it. There are a lot of interesting bits and pieces, and it's set up rather nicely. The beer I had was extra tasty. I had a good time, spent about 2hrs to get through the tour and the beers after. 👍

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! The audio interaction, learning about beer, its making, its history, even my mum who is a none beer drinker enjoyed this. There is no limit on time so you take as much as you choose from the guide. I found it fascinating and was not wanting to rush through any part of my time in the museum. We paid for the beer tasting experience which again was excellent as part of our time there and referring to people in my group who would not usually partake in a beer, even they found the value for the money. There are photo opportunities also so I was thrilled to come home with a personalised souvenir. I would certainly go again and would highly recommend.

The museum is really worth visiting. They will teach you a bit about the way beer is make and also about the history of this lovely beverage. The exhibitions are quite diverse and they do not focus on passive means of giving you information. You can actually smell and touch some of the ingredients used in brewing process. On top of that museum offers games that neatly explain the process of making beer. The last part consist of tasting quite a few different beers which I enjoyed immensely.

One of the best attractions in Bruges. This is a museum explaining how beer is produced and its history in Belgium. At the beginning of the tour, you are handed a tablet and a headset that allows you to scan on objects and hear explanations at the language of your choice. You have the option to buy a ticket with 3 beers that are served at the bar at the end of the tour for the price of 18 euros. Highly recommended!

I've done my fair share of brewery tours and these people nailed it. You will not tour a brewery. You tour an exhibit describing brewing IN DETAIL. It is some reading but the creative way they do it is worth the money alone. You get an iPad and a lot of pointing and clicking on pictures. At the end you get 3 decent size samples. Best of all there is over a dozen or more to choose from. Do it you won't be disappointed.

Great museum, where you can learn all about beer - where it originated from, how it's made, what types of beer are there... I just love the idea with iPads and headphones. One suggestion for the owner/manager - you should somehow mark the objects which activate information on the iPad.

Definitely worth choosing the ticket with the beers! The whole place is so modern and it works really great! They give you an iPad and a headset when you enter the museum. Every station you get to you just have to elevate your ipads camera to a picture or something and it automatically shows you the audio guide or even videos. Definitely recommend!! It takes about 2 hours to get through but it worths it. After you visited the museum you go down to the pub and you can taste a LOT of kind of beers. Try it out and have a fun time! We absolutely did!

Being a beer lover, I alongwith my husband enjoyed knowing the history of beer and how it's made with detailed explanation of how it is brewed in different ways and flavours. It was informative plus if you buy the tickets with beer tasting , you could also taste various beers as per your choice. We had our 10 year old daughter also with is us hence we bought the family ticket which was economical (see rate in the pic) The lady at the counter was friendly. They give you headphones and tab that you would scan to get more information. You can carry a chargeable sovenior by getting a picture clicked which can be printed on a beer bottle.

The place is amazing. You can learn everything about beer making in details, feel, smell and see… beer tasting was amazing too! Never had so tasty beer ever. Wish to visit Belgium any time soon again

Weird museum experience. Everyone has an ipad and headphones and you're holding up the iPad to random things hoping that it will display something you can listen to. The whole museum is dead silent when you take the headphones off. Was more interested in the quiz (I was terrible at it). Small museum, but the drinks at the end are wonderful. 4 drinks for 10 euro is a pretty good deal as well, especially if you go with the strong ales. Great views of the main Bruges square. A delightful experience.

If you like to try some delicious Belgian beers with nice view on Bruges square, it’s the good place to visit, the service is fast even that it was a bit crowded and the price is 10 euros for 4 different glasses of beer, fruity beer is very delicious in this place.. I recommend it

One of the only places that has the Dutch Trappist, La Trappe, on tap!!! Worth a visit just for that! Also beautiful view to have a drink.

This place is such a great and fun experience to do whilst in Bruges! We walked straight in with no waiting times. Tickets wasn’t too expensive, we got a small discount with the hotel we stayed at. You’re given a tablet with headphones that you use around the museum and it gives you all the information about everything. You can go through the museum as fast or as slow as you like. Lots of different things to read about. Our ticket included 3 beers to try at the end of the tour in the bar you get to at the end. I absolutely loved it and would say it’s a must whilst in Bruges!

A great experience. Extremely informative and interactive. The bar staff that ends the experience (including 3 free beers) is the highlight. Extremely polite and friendly. I will definitely return to the bar and I highly recommend it!

I bought tickets online about 2 weeks prior for a 12 pm Monday time slot with a tasting. It was such a cool experience! When you first enter the museum, you’re greeted with a really eye-catching display of beer cans, that spell out the word “beer”, and a bunch of really cool beer posters. Once you get upstairs, they’ll give you a tablet and it becomes an interactive experience. There are QR codes all over the museum that you scan, and you can watch videos/hear audio about the history of beer. I would say the coolest exhibit is the globe. You can scan various countries and learn about the history of beer from those regions. It took us about a hour to see pretty much everything we wanted but if you want to go at a more leisurely pace, or if you’re super into beer, you could spend 1.5 to 2 hours here. Afterwards, you can head to the tasting room (if you booked that addition) and they give you 4 tokens for a tasting. My favorite beer was the Rodenbach Fruitage, which was a nice and crisp raspberry beer. They also have snacks for purchase, but we were saving our stomachs for an actual lunch. It's definitely worth a visit when you’re in Bruges. Don’t forget the photo ops with the bottles of beer on the wall in the museum!

Everything you could want to know about beer making and history. Perfect for every beer enthusiast, while also accessible and interesting enough for more casual connoisseurs. The museum tour includes a tablet that plays videos for the various exhibitions, as well as quiz queations throughout, and there are a couple of interactive elements, including the hop and herb aroma sampling.

Massively enjoyed this tour for my birthday! Isn’t too long and doesn’t get boring. After my girlfriend and I got given 3 tokens each to try the beers but we ended up getting more! A little souvenir of our picture on a bottle was a nice touch. Defo recommend if you’re in the area

Just to see the Virgin and Child with Canon van DER Paele is worth a visit. What an amazing painting, think about how old that painting is and the color still popping (I want you to remember what year it is and look at another painting of the same period in the museum.) And the atmosphere around this museum is very nice too.

One of the best fine arts museums in Belgium, specially if you are interested in the “Flemish Primitives”. The first three Rooms will guide you through the origins and evolution of the art of painting in Flanders during the XV century.

Lovely museum filled with works of Flemish artists, mostly paintings. Works range from as early as 1400s to present day. Very impressive to see the detail and quality that the early artists were able to accomplish.

Groeninge Museum is a calm place where you can rest from the crowded streets of Brugge and meditate over one of the most amazing Flemish Masters paintings. I admired paintings of Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, Jan Provoost, Gerard David, Jeronimus Bosch and Pieter Pourbus. The exhibition is not as big as the Old Masters Museum in Brussels, so 1-2h may be enough for the visit.

A nice not too big museum with Flemish primitives works from for instance Jan van Eyck. Also some Renaissance works and others.You get an audio guide that's interesting to listen to to learn more about some paintings. Worth a visit

Beautiful, not too big art gallery. Enjoyed the classic art, some pieces are truly outstanding, not big fan of contemporary pieces but that is up to everyone's taste. Interesting entry via side streets with pointers was already cool experience before even entering the building.

Amazing collection with some seriously incredible paintings. It's a shame more people weren't visiting as Bruges itself was really busy, but the gallery itself was relatively quiet. That was good for me, but more people should see the painting, especially those from the so-called Flemish Primitives.

Amazing museum with works by many of the greats. Not too big, so perfect for an hour or two. Staff was very friendly.

What a gem! The museum detailed the evaluation of the artistic development solely focused on artists related to Bruges arranged in chronological order. Content is really well explained and labeled. I feel like I am taking a Flemish paining history class here. Loved it! There is of course Van Eyke, Memling, Campin, Van De Weyden… even somehow there is a Bosch and a Pieter Bruegel II. I saw some amazing landscape painting by Cooseman and Asselberg!

Great museum that has an extensive collection of paintings and sculptures representing many various painting styles.

Beautiful museum in the quaint town of Brugge, with a wonderful collection of artworks by the Flemish primitives, a group of painters such as Hans Memling, Rogier van der Weyden and Gerard David, among many others, characterised by the exquisite eye to detail and mastery of oil painting. Some of the works are truly outstanding, and most rooms in the museum offer a little guide to understand them. However, I think the entrance fee is a little bit expensive considering the size of the museum. Nevertheless, I totally recommend it if you're passionate about art.

Great selection of Flemish art throughout the centuries with a focus on Bruge. Lots of information available and superb chronological structure for every area. Unfortunately, the price is a little high for what you get (it’s a fairly small museum), and we were kind of unlucky to miss on a couple of works by Bosch and Pourbus that were on loan at the moment. The staff didn’t seem to care about loud visitors either and, in that sense, the experience was not the best. Other museums in Europe make sure to enforce silence in the rooms - this was not the case. Wished respectfulness to the works and rest of the visitors had been higher.

This museum is a great trip through the history of Belgian Art. It starts with the old masters, featuring a beautiful piece of Jan Van Eyck, before moving forwards all the way to modern art. While the modern section is distinctly lacklustre, the older art is all well worth the visit. The only disappointment was the minimal information in the information accompanying the art. You are able to follow along on a phone via their website, but the descriptions are sometimes quite short and don't always explain much about the detail of the painting. It is also a little on the pricey side, but that's everything in Bruges, so it is perhaps not surprising.

I liked the museum very much. My favorite part is the Primitives. I was a bit disappointed the painting of Bosch was missing, it was sent to an exhibition abroad. At the same time I liked that Brugge Museum shares its works with different countries, spreading the love for art this way.

Best beer I’ve ever had. Brought two boxes of beer for home. Awesome brewery with a beautiful terrace. Make the tour through the brewery it’s very interesting you are free to ask any questions to Tom - the master of brewery.

If you‘re here, I highly recommend taking the tour. We payed 38€ for 2 persons and weren‘t disappointed. Learned a lot more about beer brewing and the tour is really nicely designed. The ticket included the final highlight: a beer flight with 6 different types of beer. My personal favorite were (chronological seen from the 2nd board picture): 3, 4 and 5. If you‘re lucky with good weather, you can drink the flight outside right at the canal with a beautiful view. Awesome experience!

The tour was great! Very atmospheric and capturing! No need to book in advance since there is an audio guide and you can move on your own pace. The staff was excellent! The reception girl (with the Emma Stone face and smile) and the guy at the bar were very polite and sweet! The beers were excellent and the scenery at the porch nearby the canal, splendid! I highly recommend it 👌!

The brewery is very present on Bruges. They offer 2 tours, one best for 2 people with more beers to taste. The tour has interactive exhibits as well and you can observe the utensils and the process. Although self guided, it is fun. The flight of beers is delicious (maybe sugar in some of them, not to my taste to be honest), get a pretzel with them.

A very pleasant place, we came here thanks to 'Makłowicz' - a Polish foodie. The service is nice, the beers actually have a completely different aftertaste. A must visit in this part of Belgium.

Great bar with fantastic drinks, but I'd strongly advise against trying their food. Specifically, the warm snacks reheated in the microwave were quite disappointing. It's a perfect spot for drinks, yet I'd highly recommend steering clear of their overpriced food.

The tour was fantastic! The kids had plenty to do with their scavenger hunt to keep them busy, and the beer at the end was delicious! We also had some snacks afterwards with one of the best views.

This is such a fun brewery with really good beer. Overall, you must try this place, plus you can sit outside and enjoy your beer next to the river.

Great little brewery with seating on the canal (if you can get it). I tried the six beer tasting paddle which was one of the more popular orders there. I got a pretzel too, the other snack items were on the spender side. Service seemed a bit robotic too. Overall a pleasant experience.

We stopped in for food and a beer flight. The food is simple but good, I enjoyed the meatballs and my husband had a pretzel. The service and vibe was good. The flight of beer is preset and showcases the best of the brewery including special/limited beers you can only get at that location. I enjoyed my flight and would visit again. We did not do the tour.

We did the brewery tour and a tasting flight afterwards. The tour was a little cheesey but definitely worth it. Afterwards we had a tasting flight and some snacks by the canal side. The view alone is worth stopping by and the beers were delicious.

Our favourite brewery in Bruges. On our first visit we did the tour, but have been back many times just for a drink (or two) The staff are really informative and friendly. Bourgogne des flandres is our favourite tipple! We will certainly be back on our next visit to beautiful Bruges.

You can both visit this Brewery to see the museum and sit inside to drink beer. The museum is a bit expensive, but the beers are tasty. We had very good time. We tasted six different kinds of beers. All were nice. Also we had a table just near the canal.

This is a private museum that is not included in Bruges museum card. Not much artifacts to note, more of dummies played out. If you are expecting to see instruments etc like in dungeons of other European castles, one might be a bit disappointed. However, this is totally kid friendly… no gory at all so good for kids to have wee bit of education on why we should be compassionate and believe in equality.

This was a very unexpected visit. It was raining and we were looking for something to kill the time. We loved it. The many ways of torture, almost unbelievable. No shortage of ingenuity. Everything is well documented in three languages (English, French and Dutch).

It was… interesting. It’s quite small, so you’ll be in and out in one hour. Every torture method has an explanation in three different languages. There are some drawings, but also creepy dolls and the actual torture devices. On the walls you have some written history fun facts. Price is okay.

Decent little museum. Having seen many other exhibitions on the subject, it did seem a bit dull. Especially as there's a lot to read, I wish there was an audio guide for guests. Still, it's very well done, with great wax figures to illustrate how certain torture instruments were used. Defa good collection and quite interesting to visit.

Awesome little Museum Scary accurate mannequins and very detailed descriptions of each act. You go down some stairs into a cellar-like building, pay at the window (I believe 9€ for adults, 7 for students) and explore everything at your own pace.

Came here 4/5/23 in the afternoon for 1:15h student price €7. The museum is very well organized, with everything translated in Dutch French German and English. Every object has a description of its use and when & where it was used. Then you have a section about the different penal codes, from Sumeri to nowadays (and the death penalty and where it's still practised). Overall I really enjoyed the visit, and disagree with the negative reviews.

I've seen these in various cities but had not been. It was interesting to read the history of each of the devices. My kids and I had some extra time so we took our time. While not a large museum, we spent an hour going through.

More light especially on the text would be appreciated. It's even worse when it becomes crowded. Instead of the historical timeline I would add description about even more torture devices (some are just mentioned).

What an awesome museum experience and absolutely fascinating and macabre look back into time. Worth going earlier to avoid the crowds and absorb each of the 100 exhibits. Well worth the 9 euros.

I don't know what was worse, the space is really small, but I think the exhibition itself is the real problem, too banal and confusing, it doesn't describe the historical periods and the various cultures in the world at all, and I would say it is quite disorganized. The staff is completely absent, arrogant, and listless in doing their job. The music in the venue doesn't work well, the rooms in the museum are dirty in every corner, but the bathrooms were the worst of all the exhibition, I've never seen something so disgusting, an urban decay. I don't recommend it at all.

It is definitely worth visiting. Prepare to read a lot of info (the amount of time you should spend there is between 1,5-2h) and see almost all torture instruments you ever heard about. The fact that they have wax figures makes the experience even more real and thought-provoking. I am also glad the ticket was only 7€ for students, which is very affordable.

Easy to find, in the main centre just off the square. Only visited as my son wanted to go in. But I must say it was interesting and bigger than expected, that said its only a 30-45 minute activity if you read the info at each item. I personally thought it was expensive for what it was. I recall €8 or €9 for adults and paid €16 total for myself and 15yr old son. Feb 2023.

Very impressive collection. Innovative and interactive. Engaging for any age and helpful and friendly staff on hand. We really enjoyed our visit to the museum and pharmacy. Beautifully restored buildings.

Interesting but fairly small museum. While not gory, some of the exhibits make your toes curl when you think about how they were used. As part of the 3 day all museums pass, it is worth a visit, but felt expensive for what it was given we only had time for one museum (and picked this based on a interest in medical history).

Nice museum in a grand church that was converted into a hospital. The audio guide is quite complete with a history of medical profession in Belgium. Some improvement can be made for more optimal experience such as clearly labeling numbers for the audio guide.

Lovely setting for a religious art exhibition (personally -I'm not into blubbery babies, vapid women and angry old men but my husband loved the paintings). The apothecary made it for me. Fascinating social history in again a lovely setting.

Very educational and amazing collection. We visited it together with the Oude Apotheek. The preservation of the pieces is spectacular and we are happy to be able to see it all in person. A must-see in Brugge. For sure.

This museum was extremely disappointing. I was expecting an actual museum about a hospital but instead there was mostly just religious art. It would have been cool to see an examination room or something of that nature instead of basically another church.

One of the best museums I've been too. The layout and information stations were so well planned, that we got a real sense of the old hospital and what it provided for the local community. The Hams Memlimg section was a real treat. Would highly recommend going to this and the apothecary! (Get the 72 Hour Brugge Museum Card!)

The medieval hospital is worth the trip. Your ticket gives you entrance to both St John’s hospital and the Pharmacy. During our rainy day trip from Amsterdam we visited St. John’s hospital and pharmacy. Instead of the usual hospital artifacts and paintings, there was a special exhibit: Face to face with Death. Hugo van der Goes, old masters and new interpretations featuring 'The Death of the Virgin' by Hugo van der Goes is one of the most important works in Musea Brugge's world famous collection of Flemish Primitive art. The apotheek was small and super interesting with a lot of artifacts on display.

The museum is very interesting and there are lots of different things to look at. However, it’s mainly religious art and I was expecting more hospital equipment and/or medical related artefacts. The building is beautiful and it’s worth walking around the grounds at the back to really take in the environment and appreciate the building properly. The ticket price includes entry into the apothecary which is behind the hospital and this was also very interesting. Ticket prices were a bit steep, would have appreciated spending a few euro less per ticket but I still think the experience was worth it.

Wonderful museum and definitely worth the visit. A really good interperative display of the workings of the old "Church run" hospital and the vital services it provided. Interesting to see the importance placed on hospitality in such institutions.

I just loved everything about this art/history museum. The subject matter, the interactivity, the fact that we were physically inside the very hospital being showcased through the actual art. This is for anyone who loves the macabre, and wants to learn about medieval medicine and death itself. Momento Mori style.

Quite possibly the oldest hospital in the world dating back to the 11th century. Story goes that patients weren't taken here to get their physical body treated but more so for their spiritual self to be readied for the afterlife. The approach did change as medical science developed and patients did eventually get physical care in order to get better. Was a working hospital until the 20th century. Pretty cool.
