Beautiful zoo. Very natural animals, fit, well-groomed. Prices in the upper range with 70 euros for 3 people. The employees were consistently friendly. Parking was a 5 minute walk away. The playground is an absolute must for the children, so make sure you plan enough time! And in any case, DO NOT leave the zoo without having an ice cream 🍦 It tastes fantastic.

This zoo was such a disappointment. If you expect a serious conservational effort and educational experience, this is not the place for you. It is more of a thematic animal enclosure experience geared towards children amusement. Mini theme park for kids. They lack staff, and the animals lack proper climate controlled enclosures. They have a whole section dedicated to safari animals, and either they were hiding from the cold so you didn't see them at all, or they were huddled together shivering. It was a really sad sight; much pity for the animals. Definitely don't visit during winter. Even in summer I'd think twice.. Fortunately the staff were kind enough to issue a refund.

This is a beautiful zoo! One of the best zoos I have seen so far. My favorite part of the zoo was the farm area. There is a huge jungle gym at the end of the zoo. My son had so much. I was able to spend the day here with my family and I can't wait to go back next time we are in town.

Recommend buying tickets a week or two in advance to pay half the price! Zoo was amazing the animals seemed very happy and lively. You could even step into the inclosure with some animals. The seal show was really worth the watch. Spent a really long time here a whole day affair. Not many restaurants open during the winter season so bring food! Boat ride was a really addition The online map isn't great and signposting could be updated but it was the best zoo I have ever been to.

Very big , and beautiful I recommend going early so you have time to see everything. Big parking , ticket is a little bit expensive but it is worth it . You can see a lot of animals , there are parks for kids . Inside you can drink,eat,rest(ofc you pay for this too) everything you need you have inside .

Just an amazing zoo, the best one I’ve ever been! I have spent 5 hours there and still didn’t see everything, you must plan a whole day for it. The highlight of it is lion’s family with 3 cubs (born 20.02.2023). They were so cute playing with each other, their mom and even serious father. I just could not leave the spot watching them for half an hour. Unfortunately the glass you are watching through is scratched and opposite sun made it even worse to look and make pictures, but they were so close, just few meters away. Amazing experience! I liked thematically made zones, never seen something like that in other zoo’s. They have feeding hours for animals so you could watch and they tell you some facts about animals but unfortunately only in German. All signs and information are in German too. People say the price 27 euro is expensive but I think it’s totally worth it and you can actually have much cheaper price (15 euro) if you book few weeks in advance through internet. Must see in Hannover!

I was disappointed as I felt I didn’t get my money’s worth. Most animals were either too far or in hiding. Cafes were closed and the boat ride was under maintenance. The zoo isn’t a handicapped friendly place at least for me personally. All animal descriptions & information was in German so as a non native speaker it wasn’t fun to google translate info about animals I wanted to know more info about.

Wonderful experience! We went on a Tuesday morning when it was not very crowded. There were groups of school children with their clipboards, studying different animals- that was pretty cool. But, the zoo has a varied collection of animals, with some bot very common to zoos. They also had a petting area with cows and goats and sheep. The Polar Bears are a beauty to watch.

Very nice zoo with good parking possibility, restaurants and play grounds for children are available. The boat ride is amazing and in weekends, it may have around 15 minutes waiting time, which not that much, but worth to do it. For someone leaving around hannover, buying the annual ticket is better than the day ticket.

In every angle, this city hall will always deliver a photo perfect view. You can go inside and explore this architecture or go wander outside and walk around the mini lake. Hanover New Town Hall is a building worth visiting for both history and architecture lovers. This time I looked for architectural lines in it that I had not seen before and this building surprised me again. Spiral staircases, columns, arches, doors, balustrades, the golden ratio, domes, ornamentation, reflections - these are just some of the things that this building delights, encourages discovery and engages. A visit here is a must when in Hanover. Today, the city municipality is located here, maybe that's why entrance without a tour is free. There is also paid parking at the town hall itself.

This is a MUST in your list of places to visit in Hannover. Unfortunately the access to the terrace and the 360 Panasonic view is currently unavailable because of COVID. The New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) rises with its beauty in the center of Lower Saxony capital just by a small pond and big Maschsee Lake. It's the seat of Municipal government being built in the early 20c, replacing the old medieval Town Hall which is in Altstadt (old town). Visiting is totally free except climbing the Dome. Amazing and rich in details architecture both, outside and inside. Most interesting I found four big and precise models of Hannover over ages. The first is from 1689 as a fortified medieval town. After that two models from 1939 and 1945 show the city before and after WWII when it was totally demolished, and finally the fourth one represents the modern and prosperous city of today. Free to visit are also terrific mosaics on the first floor. Climbing the Dome is paying few Euros, but problem is the waiting time (in our case over an hour) so we didn't make it

In the new town hall you can go inside and see some models of the old town. But for me the beauty on the outside is the most important thing, and it's very well done.

A great place … the central hall was pointed out to us buy a member of the tourist information. He also recommended a book The Red Thread . Which then had us on a tourist route , great help and well worth the 3€. The main reason for visit was to ascend the (not straight)lift to the top of the tower , absolutely fantastic and views were as you would expect perfect.

Stunning building with a viewing deck on top of the dome! Only 6 people can go up at a time so there’s a bit of a waiting time but you can stay as much as you want and admire Hannover from above! There are three viewing platform levels that offer a full panoramic view of Hannover.

It is a wonderful Townhall. The building is excellent. The problem is definitely going up with the lift as it is only restricted to 6 people and we have to go to the third floor to take a lift. The waiting time is unfortunately too long. You can buy a ticket for four euro per person at the entrance.

Very nice Rathaus. But still I believe the one in Hamburg is nicer 😁 apparently you can go up and take photos from the top the city. But it is currently closed and opens in spring again

Just the symbol of Hannover! The most beautiful Rathaus I have ever seen. The location near lake makes it even more magnificent. It is worth to go to the observation desk - views are breathtaking and it costs only 4 euro. The unique elevator which takes you to the roof is very interesting too. The only thing is that you have to wait to get there as it only takes 6 people per ride. But totally must visit place. 👍

It was fascinating, Instagramable ambiance even late afternoon a lot of local tourist visited the place especially the observatory deck. There is entrance fee their cast 4 euro for adults and 3,50 for children closing time at 5:30 pm.

Loved it, the Garden was really nice. The only thing I think that they can improve on is the fact that most items in the museum are in German. Here's the catch, not everyone speaks German. So if the have the souvenirs that read in English or the books about botanical garden translated in English for those who can't read nor speak the language that would be awesome. Overall a really nice place to visit with kids, could be use for educational purposes. Well maintained.

If you go during Monday to Wednesday that fee is less, if you are a student from Mon-Wed it costs 1,50 but during the other days it is 4,50 maybe more, depending whether you want to go to the museum or not (which is closed now). I would advice any person that goes wants to go there to go during spring/summer time, as in winter time there’s no flowers and everything looks a bit dead. Apart from that, it is such a beautiful place and it has a lot of history.

There is always a reason to keep coming back here, the gardens are just so beautifully designed and well maintained. Keep your eye out for events over the festival period, makes a great location to take in some culture. Really to get money's worth from admission price, pack a picnic basket and spend an afternoon inside.

Extensive gardens on a monumental scale. The layout is symmetrical and there are many garden rooms you can visit including the re-creation of a Rococo and Baroque garden. Much statuary and many fountains as well.

Really beautiful Garten. We went there on last Friday. Unfortunately the flowers are still blooming. If you are planning here and sea life you can buy both tickets together with discount prices. Visit there website before you go then you can find out there special festivals events.

One of the nicest places in the region of Hannover. Notes: avoid noon time visits because the fountains stop watering; bring some snacks/drinks for a picnic. One of the very beautiful places in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) state. I would highly recommend visiting it. The lake is surrounded by biking lane and suitable for both walking and jogging. Beautiful place to visit, lots of green and space to enjoy nature. There is quite a variety of thing you can do around it. Biking, walking, jogging, bathing (on the assigned area), rowing one of their boats, visiting some of the restaurante that are around it or just enjoying the sunset. It’s a great point to relax, chill and have a good time. Not to mention that once a year they have the Maschseefest, which is really fun to visit. Definitely one of the most beautiful places to visit in Hannover with your family, friends or even by yourself all year long.

It was a very exciting experience for kids and as well as for parents. The place has wide species of aquatic habitants… The best part was walking under a huge glass chamber which was contained with big fishes and turtles. The crocodile was a good surprise… The best place to visit in Hannover in any season.

Nice place to visit. But little expensive. Small area to explore. Before going one should check online the booking slot. It is recommended to book before 3 days atleast. Small kids will definitely enjoy. There are different shows organised in different time. So if one want to see particular show such as meal time for crocodile or insect show, one should check the website before. I was expecting bit more from this but anyways it's ok. It took usually one hour to see everything completely. Shows may have 20 min extra time slot. Altogether 2 hrs time is good.

A statue of the Hannover King Ernest Augustus. Located just near the entrance to the train station. A popular meeting point among locals. Stairs down to the Niki-de-Saint-Phalle-Promenade shopping mall are located just near the statue.

This monument stands in tribute to Ernest Augustus, a fifth son of George III of Great Britain who was fortunate to rise to the throne thanks for Salic law that barred women from inheriting the throne. The monument is a larger than life equestrian statue of the king in the uniform of the hussars in reference to his 15th The King's Hussars officers of the British army with whom he had served. The monument literally stands in front of Hanover Central Station and along with the station, dominates the public square in which it stands. Good luck trying to get a good photo of this monument for all the people using it as shade from the sun or just a place to rest on.

It was destroyed in World War II, and was left in ruins as a war memorial. The church was built in the 14th century in the centre of Hanover, succeeding a chapel, and a Romanesque church built in 1163.

This is a classic German central square Church rebuilt in red bricks you're about to see in almost every German town. Marktkirche means the main Market square Church, so you can easily conclude it's here from the medieval era - in this case from 14 cent. It's a Protestant Church (with Martin Luther statue in front), so don't expect lavish interiors. Add to that WWII allied bombing devastations and you're about to see a simple, yet beautiful high vaulted Gothic brick interior along with some modern art bronze statues inside and a golden triptych. Anyway, it's worth entering and it's free

While the palace may not be as marvellous as the Sans Souci castle, the vast garden is wonderful: beautifully crafted and maintained garden with colourfully flowers, tall trees, mini gardens and fountains (especially the tall one). When you wander far from the palace, the path is close to a canal and much quieter. The place is overall not overly crowded by tourists, which makes the visit and long walks more enjoyable

It’s really nice to walk in the garden. The plants are not that many, but there are more interesting ones in the greenhouses. The price is also decent, you can get a combo ticket for both Berggarten and Herrenhauser - which is across the street.

The gardens are well-manicured and the variety of plants and flowers is breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the water garden and the variety of colorful blooms in the summer. The garden's historic greenhouse is a must-see, with a stunning collection of exotic plants and cacti. There are also several themed gardens to explore, including a rose garden and a medicinal herb garden. Overall, Berggarten Botanical Garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Hanover. It's a perfect place to relax, take a stroll, and connect with nature. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially those with an interest in botany or gardening.

Always nice to visit the Bergarten: each time of the year has its own highlight and atmosphere! Of course rhododendron blooming is an highlight of the park, but low season should not be overlooked. We had very nice experiences even in the middle of winter.

Beautiful gardens and building. I was there for a conference and the facilities are top-class: the lecture room in particular had an outlet for every seat, comfy chairs, and pull-out desks. The gardens are similarly fantastic. The flowers are meticulously cared for and the arrangement of the gardens is beautiful. The fountain is also amazing and so high! Do note it only runs part of the day, so it's worth checking times and going when it's on!

The big garden really impresses with manicured gardens that are absolutely gorgeous. At the same time the Berggarten fascinates with letting the visitor feels as if in they’re in nature enjoying different plants that grow there. There are also great opportunities to rest at both gardens. Staff has always been really nice and with a yearly ticket it’s quite affordable as well. Highly recommend. The Berggarten is right across the street from the big garden.

A must visit location when travelling Hannover, Germany. With the regular ticket €8 (for €5 students) a person can visit the museum, the garden and beer garden [on the other side of the road). However, one can visit the three different zones on separate days (each only for once). This is worth visiting. It’s a beautiful and enchanting place to be at. The fountains, the greenery and the palace are beautiful. I personally enjoyed the grotto which was actually the highlight of my visit.

Nice stadium and good facilities, you will need to obtain a prepaid card for the vendors inside the stadium and top it up. Get there early as it can take time to get through the security checks. Back packs and some other items are not allowed, all non allowed items are confiscated and placed in a hut that you can retrieve from after the match with a ticket system.

Nice stadium. We sat lower level in section W4. We sat in the 2nd row, to be close to the field. I wish we sat higher up in the lower section to have a better perspective. Too much space between the seats and the playing field made it hard to see parts of the field.

Great experience, The large halls offer plenty of space for stands, and the sheer size of everything is impressive at the least. The food provided on site was a bit lacklustre especially for the price. The security was as you'd expect. Would recommend visiting a fair here.

The expo area is well connected with public transportation system. A train station served also by ICE trains is just 5 minutes from the expo area. Several services are available inside (restaurants, shuttle bus, ..)

Absolutely amazing exhibition really well organised and full of great products. Definitely recommend to book at least 3-4 days to be able to see all the stands. You can find everything to do with technology and parts.

I attended the Hannover Messe 2019. Very easy to access via train. The event was well organised. The exhibition facilities are very impressive with disability access to most areas. However, buying food and drink inside the exhibition can be very expensive. Better to get your coffee and pretzels just outside the train station.

Good contemporary art museum with bad management. We had two issues: - First our masks did not meet the FFP2 standard and despite that the museum had these masks available the receptionist did not want to sell/give them and simply send us away. But thanks to the initiative of another employee we were provided with the masks (to which the receptionist objected in front of us). I found it odd that they were okay to send a visitor away where they could have put some masks into their shop (we were not asked to pay for the provided masks). This would help everybody. - The second incident was more disturbing. There was a 3D printer installation and I was explaining this to my seven year old daughter. We were very clearly behind the barrier, maybe 5-10cm and not touching it, when another staff member came and very aggressively told us that it was prohibited to stand where we were and we had to step back at least 30cm away. I questioned why the barrier was not placed further back in this case. Her response was that the fumes of the 3D printer could cause headaches. Hence I repeated the question why the barrier was not placed correctly in the first place if there was a health concern (as she also did not attempt to change it), and why there was nothing alerting the visitors of this possibility. She just said I should not argue with the museum staff. I do not believe that the barrier position was incorrect or the fumes would creat any health issues. I think these would have been considered when the installation was put up. But this makes it difficult to understand the alert, and more importantly aggressive attitude of the staff member. Apart from the above I must note to be fair that many other employees were trying to be helpful. But I think that the museum management has a training issue. The general attitude is not that you are a paying visitor, i.e. customer, but someone benefitting from the benevolence of the museum owner.

Overall it was a good museum. However, the staff were not very helpful. Unfortunately, the English documents were insufficient, I would like more detailed information about the museum and collections. Maybe I'm the problem, we went at the wrong collection time.

Although I have a deep admiration for art, I didn't find many of the abstract and modern art pieces showcased at the Sprengel Museum appealing. Some of them felt like mere placeholders, lacking any clear intention or evidence of effort. In today's digital age, where algorithms can generate art effortlessly, both the artists and the museum should contemplate their approach to presenting art and the messages they convey. On a positive note, I did enjoy the section of the museum with dark rooms, which provided a fun experience.

I love modern arts, and this one is one of my fav! Not only it is located right in front of the lake, where u can see the sunset, but also the arts inside are super nice, tickets are not expensive, definitely worth a visit! I spent 2-3 hours inside :) *** great ace for cool pics too!!!

Paid 4 euros for entry as some exhibitions were under construction. For that price you should go for sure. The stuff was extremely helpful and could speak English. I put 4 stars because the exhibitions were limited. I manly liked the photography one. You can see in my review plenty of photos from that exhibition. There were desks where you can sit and chill with plenty of photobooks.

To be honest I am not a fan of modern art so it was not very interesting for me. Just went there because of bad weather. Entry price is 7 euro but maybe it’s better to go for free, not sure if it’s worth a price.

The museum overall has a newly build vibe to it, clean and well maintained. The exhibition and art inside the museum is bit off my taste of what a “museum” experience might be. It’s full of paintings and abstract art etc . 30-40% of the museum was under renovation and the overall layout of the museum was frankly quite consuming; a maze but not quite a fun maze (?) approach. The entry fees is 7 euros usually but Monday’s are closed and Fridays are free. I did go on Friday so the experience was moderately positive, however I would not pay 7 euro for this type of museum.

A good museum that covers many aspects. On the ground floor they have nature exhibits with live animals. The 1st floor has exhibits on human evolution and history. The 2nd floor has several art exhibits. It has some games and videos that will be fun activities for children. Recommended.

Great range of topics to discover in this well planned museum. The art gallery is wonderful and varied and well worth a visit alone. The museum covers all continents with a large range of artefacts. The natural world exhibitions are really good with aquarium! Definitely a place to visit when in Hannover.

I definitelly recomend visiting . I was amazed . It have so many things to see and was so interesting . It was clean,people working there were so polite . There was so many kids and all of them was really happy seeing fish and animals. It is good for children and for adults .

Despite exhibits being very well presented, the interpretitive signage was overwhelmingly in German only. Given this a major museum over 3 levels, visited by international travellers like ourselves, it's extraordinary that even short English summaries are not provided. The staff told me that get lots of similar feedback and mention it to management, but nothing happens. A very frustrating and unsatisfactory experience!

The museum was great. We went on Friday. Free entry is available on Fridays. The museum consisted of several parts. In the first part there was an aquarium, then it was about animals. Upstairs there were paintings and sculptures about the human phase and Jesus.

Great place to spend a couple of hours. The Naturwelt is the best and most interesting, with live animals. The human world is OK too, with some interactive activities like puzzles. The art part was not that interesting (for us), but it's definitely still worth a visit overall.

We have visited this museum to see the good variety of pictures . But … There was only 20-25% of them as bigger part was closed because of some roof problems. So, you pay 10 Euro / 2 people and see only 3 rooms of icons … We expected more … If you come with children - it will be interesting to watch ground and first floor . But pictures I don’t advise .

I was here 2022 October in State museum of Hannover near to new town hall. State gallery was closed for renovations (?) but natural history , archeology and ethnology sections were worth visiting. Couldn’t spend more time as I was limited with the time.

Interesting museum with 3 floors of different exhibitions, the most interesting from my opinion is on the ground floor, even for adults. There are aquariums with different fishes, as well shells and dinosaurs skeletons. Would recommend to visit. Ticket price is 5 euro for permanent exhibition and 10 euro for all exhibitions.

Nothing open. Plus no English translation anyway which is ridiculous as the first King George of england is from there, you would have thought that the museum board would have English translation as this area of Germany could be a Mecca for lovers of the royal family.
