Poetta beach, Sardinia, Italy. We are currently still in Sardinia and visited Poetta beach today. We're here from 2nd-9th October 2022, so pretty much out of season. Poetta beach is simply stunning. It's miles of beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. Such a delight to go into the sea with just sand beneath your toes. My only bugbear is the sellers coming up to you every 20 mins ALL DAY. No matter how many times you tell them no, they do not leave you alone. The beach was so quiet and weather was glorious, with a nice breeze, perfect day out. You get your bus tickets from the tobacco shop and they run every 10 mins. Buses PF or PQ. Ensure you get the 15 mins bus as the other one takes you around 1.25 mins!! There were places to eat along the beach and we secured a table no problem 😊

This sea is truly a gem with its pristine waters, offering a refreshing and serene experience. However, it's important to note the presence of jellyfish, which can sting. Despite this, the overall cleanliness and beauty of the sea make it a worthwhile destination.

A very long beach, with places to do water sports like surfing or sailing and also many place to lay on the sun. There are some half finished buildings between the beach and the road

Great beach. It's a lot nicer in person compared to some of the pictures we saw online. Lots of people selling stuff so you're bound to be interrupted a few times. Plenty of choice for places to eat and get a drink

The longest beach in Cagliari. Easy to access by public transportation and it is highly recommended to get there by bus. Interesting experience, either a private beach or a public beach like the locals do. Nice place!

Nice and clean, well-developed infrastructure along the beach, bicycle route, sidewalks, places to sit.

Considering is a beach by a large city its amazing. The sand is clean, the water can be either clear or cloudy depending on the currents. But generally is lovely.

Nice open beach. The area is very large and extended. Lots of private beach assigned areas and also public spots. Water is clear with a nice blue color. Easily accessible by bus from the center. Better to have your umbrella with you otherwise you will need to pay a minimum of 24-25 euros to rent a seat/umbrella. Some places even charge 55 euros. There are some options for food and drinks too all around the area. Definitely recommended beach.

Great long, wide, clean beach. We took the PF bus from downtown and then crossed the street and took the PQ back. A number of restaurants and umbrella bars.

Visited in mid June for a long weekend getaway with my besties. Beautiful large beach, very clean with lots of beach bars and plenty of sun loungers.

the best beach we found in south sardinia! beautiful scenery, white sand, flamingos, sand dunes. not too busy and plenty of space for parking. there were a few cafes there too for a drink.

Its probably the only beach in the city so it gets all the points. Very long beach, nice for walks and sun bathing. There were toilets and changing rooms everywhere which is a plus. Easy to access from the city via bus PF and PQ. At the beginning of June the weather was still colder than needed, so not many people were interested to go in :)

Lovely looking area. Wow this place is beautiful, a lovely coastline with fantastic far reaching views..but why I'd there an abandoned massive building and a carcass of a house just left to rot.. come on council folk, get these removed to make the place look even better..

The view of the city from the Bastion is wonderful. The whole structure is very impressive, especially the steps leading up to the top. There isn't much shade and it can be uncomfortable on a very hot day. From the top it is an easy walk to the Cathedral and the Palace. Great free place to visit to see part of history and the scenery.

Nice place, situated in the centre of city. The only thing I didn't like was a lot of people everywhere.

A stunning place with far reaching views across Cagliari. As with many things here it is old and a little unkempt but still beautiful. There are lots of steps to reach it which can be hard work in the heat. There is a lift, but when we visited it was not in service. Worth the climb though and it is free to visit

Impressive building with viewpoints to look at the city from the above. Entrance is free, so you can enjoy its fully and use upstairs or lift to get it

This would be stunning if there wasn't so much graffiti on every wall and the glass at the top. Really let's this beautiful historic down. The whole town of Caligari is nothing but graffiti on almost every building. There's a lot of stairs to climb and it's really picturesque at the top with panoramic views.

Best city view. Next to Bastion, you will find a pedestrian zone with different restaurants and cafes.

Lots of stairs, gets you to a great view of the ocean and of the city. Musicians at the top set the mood. A lovely part of town.

Beautiful place to watch the sunset or just to watch the city go by in Cagliari. It is one of the highest points in the city and the climb up the stairs is well worth it for the views. You can also walk from here to Castello which is a must!

You have to see it from all different angles as it is so pretty. It’s a staircase thus open all the time and no tickets needed. You can use also elevator- it’s a bit hidden behind but only if you cannot walk upstairs. From the upper level you can enjoy the view on Cagliari.

It’s one of my favorite place in the center of the city, because it’s for FREE, you can enjoy a nice panorama of the city, there’s a free bathroom 🚽 downstairs, you can take nice pictures and also you can just sit there and get some sunshine ☀️

Make sure you go up all the way for the best experience. You will have open view over cagliari and out towards the marine. There is also a nice park and benches on the “roof”

Nice place to get the last sun in the evening or just great to overlook Cagliari. Bar close by. Intermediate stop to carry on exploring the top city up to the city hall. Might be quite windy.

I never anticipated discovering such a magnificent and stunning historical monument. It is exceptionally unique and well-maintained. It features a sizable patio with seating so you can sit and take in the sunset while having a view, and it provides a lovely panoramic view of Cagliari. You will love this place especially if you like exploring. In conclusion, if you ever visit Cagliari for your vacation, this place is a must.

This has to be one of the most beautiful Cathedrals I have ever visited. It actually brought me to tears. The inside is breathtaking and the stone work, history and masonry is like nothing I've ever seen. It's lit up at night which adds to the beauty. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful church. Admission was free, but you can give a voluntary collection. When you are in the middle of the church, look up, there is a beautiful painting. Once inside the church, you can go down one floor on the left and see the catacombs. Not very big, but very beautifully designed. You also have the possibility to light candles. You have to note that you should have your shoulders covered, as is the case in most church places.

Incredibly stunning cathedral- a must see in Cagliari. I’ve seen many churches and cathedrals but this one clearly makes it to the top list.

Breathtakingly Beautiful! The craftsmanship is beyond humanly abilities. If you are Catholic I would highly recommend attending Mass… during the week it’s at 1800 hrs…. The rosary is said before.

This spiritual place floods you with positive energy. It is old and has a very ancient civilization. Every detail has a story, every angle has a past. Here you will feel the angels guarding the place.

Getting to this marvelous building from the lower part of Cagliari, where your hotel is most likely to be, is not exactly easy. It's a steep climb, but you shouldn't leave the city without having made the effort. You will visit a building that incorporates Romanesque and Baroque styles and has a visually surprising mixture of artwork that might overwhelm sensitive eyes and souls, but its details will move even the most blasé of tourists.

Must see, very beautiful church, you can also climb the tower.

It’s a very beautiful Catholic Church from 13th century, an architecture of more than 700 years of history. Inside, every inch of this church in my opinion is a piece of art.

The origins of this church date back to 1324 in order to offer spiritual assistance to soldiers engaged in the siege of the city. The statue of Virgin Mary is housed in the splendid sanctuary (City Tour Cagliari). The driver of the tour bus was nice enough to slow down so we, tourists can take a good shot of the church.

It’s really a cute architecture, full of history, but they are still working on it, the top floor is not available yet so you can’t really have a panoramic view, to climb the tower, it’s 3 euro per person, which if you hope to see something,I don’t recommend you to get in,there’s nothing to see inside, except nests of doves and some dusts inside , unless you just want to contribute to the maintenance of this cute architecture

Sadly the tower was closed when i was there. But the details of the tower are still interesting and i can imagine the view fron the top is stunning.

It was closed when we visited, the staff said we can only join the tour to visit but we cannot reach the panoramic level even if we join the tour. She suggested us to visit torre campanaria which is just next to this one, and the view was nice too.

I couldn’t find out if its possible to climb up the stairs, didn’t see people up. So just toon few photos from below and left.

Great building - unfortunately closed between 1-4pm. And children under 12 not allowed. So I can‘t tell about the view from the top.

Arrived here to a locked gate and a sign with an address to buy tickets. Rang the number provided and was told the place where the sign is IS where you buy tickets (not 100m away). No one here though. “He might be on a tour” I was told. Hung around and eventually gave up waiting. They didn’t get my cash today. The website on the sign also doesn’t work (it redirects to a spam site).

Best archeologic museum in Cagliari. Wonderful collection of bronzes from Nuraghi sites.

Asked for an audio guide, but to our dismay it is only available in Italian! A good display and written description of the various periods with fantastic pieces of pottery, statuettes, stone figures. The building has a contemporary cool design blending some old and new structures. Worth a visit. The 3 stars given is because of the audio guide. Ticket price €10

a really interesting museum! it is also all explained in english, and it's even a little bit interactive. a lot of information about the history and the nuraghic civilization. also the entry fee was not too expensive, there are even 3 floors of museum you can visit. sadly the audio guide was just in italian and you had to pay 3€ extra. but it's definitely worth a visit! 👣

It's just an okay museum. Swing by only if you have some spare time to kill in town. The town itself is much more interesting

Very well designed and presented, Signage in Italian and English. Wonderful exhibits from the Nuraghi era, and good information about it too. The only bit missing - where did the bronze come from ?

I don't understand why discounts for students are restricted for certain and very specific courses, and only for UniCa , not even other universities based in Sardinia!. Museum and places of culture should be inclusive for all, not esclusive for certain. This is a mind restricted behaviour typical of province institution, in italiano una scemenza bella e buona and you should correct this since is not fair and even embarassing when you bring foregin people over. Moreover some of the captions around the museum are written in italian only, check yourself.

Nice for hot days. It's air conditioned, has toilets and seats as well as a small kids section. 10€/Person well spent. Wifi pass is "benvenuto". Snack Machine (very affordable) accepts coins only though.

First floor gives a synopsis of all the eras using the best pieces. A great way to get the complete history. Other floors add details. English language guides are available.

Impressive evidence of human evolution, a timeline backed with artefacts, so impressive.

Well above our expectations: very rich in artefacts, excellent explanations in very good English, engagingly written and not full with scientific words. I read in advance some Google reviews which said the museum is small. Really? It is 4 floors!!! I noticed when we were there that by the time people reached the 4th floor little had still patience for yet another broken pot :). Neither did we. Also: The ladies at the ticket office were very attentive and proactively informed us our son of 16 does not have to pay. We had already read this in a goggle review (and had closs checked on their site) and came prepared because the day before when we were at the Barimini nuraghi place the ticket person refused to agree with us people until the age of 17 had reduced traffic (despite the fact it was written in 4 languages at the ticket office! ).

Free entry for students was grand. Well setup with great history of Sardinia and brilliant walks through time periods. Must see for anyone in Cagliari especially if you like archeological finds but even if you don't a great cultural experience.

Lovely museum, film history of Sardinia on display here with artifacts from all eras. Well laid out and well lit. English translations. Small shop with some books and souvenirs. Definitely worth a visit. Low entrance fee. €7 per adult. Visited July 2019

A lovely place to escape the rain and learn about the long and fascinating history of this island. I agree that the pathway through the museum is a bit confusing but even if you don't follow the chronology perfectly you still get lots out of it. I was lucky in that an enthusiastic staff member at the museum took me on a mini one hour tour. A wonderful experience for me traveling solo!

Small and boring exhibition. It has has a couple of cool things, but nothing special. We entered because it was raining. Not worth 9€ (on the card it say it is 7€, but when we asked for student discount the price was 9€ pp).

This was an interesting visit. Saved mostly by the incredible artefacts housed within. The museum is obviously quite dated and as such has a kind of stuffy vibe. The staff were sometimes friendly and sometimes unphased or disinterested in your interest. There were many walkways that led you to dead ends and there was no flow to the viewing. Moreover the chronological order is not according to ascending floors and you are jostled between epochs. But my goodness, there are a few gems that will make the labyrinth well worth the effort. Go in with a vintage experience in mind and I'm sure you'll enjoy the ride. Special mention, an Italian sign language interpreters telling facts and stories on screens throughout the exhibit

The park is cute with some poultry. Nothing much though, a bunch of pine trees, but good to rest a bit and calm. If you go a bit up at the top of the mountain, you have a nice view point on the bay.

Amazing park! Best to go with children! Lots of room to run around and play. Many playgrounds. You will meet all kinds of animals that are super friendly and let you go really near. There is a really quiet easy walk to the top of the hill. It has beautiful views to the city. It’s a good idea to spend the sunset there!

Very big and nice park with different birds and animals: goose, peacocks, turtles, cats. And it's totally free! The nature itself is also very beautiful, and it has good viewpoints from the top to catch sunset or just look at the city from the height.

The bird’s eye view of Cagliari. You can reach this spot easily by car, a short drive up to a top of a hill where you can see both sides of Cagliari. I happen to be there and witnessed an amazing sunset. Just sit there and enjoy the mesmerising view of the city. Quiet and nice wind felt refreshing.

It is a must if you are in Cagliari! Lovely and relaxing park. It is very big so you shouldn't have any problem with finding a spot for yourself. At the road there is nice spot where you can watch the city from above with a panoramic view.

The entrance area looks promising, so we decided to go visit the Orto Botanico. To be honest: The entrance area is the only promising part of this place. All buildings are not accessible (although after looking inside I do not think would have done so anyway as they are all a big mess). Lots of plants in the park would urgently need water, many are already withered. Entrance fee is 4€ (04/2022), woulkd not go there again.

Rather quiet place - we liked the huge Ficus macrophylla tree near the cave - make sure to step by. Probably not the biggest garden, but worth the money to walk around during siesta summer time. At the very end of the garden you could even see the Roman amphitheater through the fence.

An amazing, calm place for walking and relaxing. We have been there in December, and all plants were green, even bananas. :) Friendly staff, low-price tickets. Must-be for everyone visiting Cagliari.

Nice place to visit if you have a free afternoon in Cagliari: ticket only costs 4 euros and allows you to see a lot of different trees, plants and flowers! The park lacks maps/indicators (you can only get a map if you scan a QR code at the entrance), but getting "lost" in it is way more fun than following a map :) Ps: if you're lucky, you might find a few ducks hanging out among the palm trees.

4 euro for entry, very pretty botanical garden, great diversity, there were almost no people there in the off season. Very nice diversity of flora.

A beautiful garden, full with exotic (to me as someone from Central Europe) plants. There is an entrance fee of 4 euros person which surprised me at first, but it’s totally worth it, because it’s really a place for tranquility and relaxation, that makes you just want to sit down on a bench and read a book (or write Google Maps reviews on your phone).

Very nice botanical garden. So relaxing, it's a breath of fresh air, a good space to relax and escape the heat. There is also a book exchange shelf. Entrance to the outside spaces is free.

Nice park with few places to sit down. Very easy access by public transport. Apparently you can see over the fence to the amphitheatre. There are also s few caves to see on the west side of the garden.

A wonderful, cool and calm green space near the centre of baking hot Cagliari. Some of the most amazing cacti you will ever see, and don't miss the cool Roman cistern on the western side. €4 well spent.

A truely relaxing Place in the City of Cagliari. You see a lot of different plants from flowers to trees, fountains and koi fish. We loved it to cool down during our Cagliari visit on a hot summer day.

Im only giving it two stars instead of one because we were lucky to get to see a flamingo close enough. Otherwise it would have been just a one because we couldn’t hire a bike as we needed an ID and tbh I wouldn’t give my passport to some strangers sitting at the desk, will all IDs on the desk easily for anyone to grab! It was only one person at the desk and she would walk around explaining things to tourists and leave the desk unattended while IDs with their forms are just there on table - not secure at all. We even offered credit card but they said no. This rule should change to leaving credit cards or perhaps deposit rather ID if they show they are not taking care of it properly. The other reason is that all birds are in the distance you cannot see them. We walked for 40 to 50 mins in heat search for them and manage to see them in distance so then we decided to go towards the beach and luckily we saw one very close on left hand side in one of the lake, standing by itself so kinda made our day and happy at least all the efforts didnt go to waste.

It really worth the guide tour by electric ‘bus’. Even if the bike plan sounds good you can really see more with the tour.

Not bad overall. Tried to hire bikes but we were abruptly dismissed when we said we didn't have our passports with us for deposit. We'd have happily left a large monetary deposit but that's not possible. Then we had to walk a very long way trying to track down a flamingo. Luckily we managed to come across one, which made the trek worthwhile. From there it was quite easy to wander over to the beach to continue with our day.

I really recommend the guided tour. The guide was very interesting & knowledgeable. The park is too big to walk around in less than 2 to 3 hours , also with the guided tour you see areas that are otherwise closed off. Well worth a visit.

Very nice, it’s a long walk but with bike or step it’s a beautiful experience. I have an brace on my knee but they allowed us to use our electric steps. We saw the flamingos nearby and the park itself is beautiful. I recommend going

If you happen to be in the area, I would definitely visit. It’s kind of a weird place but with a certain charm. There is no entrance fee (though you can rent bikes or get various guided tours for an expanded experience) so you can just drop by briefly to visit the flamingos, no need to spend hours exploring the park. I wouldn’t come specifically for this though from a distance. There are only a handful of flamingos and at quite a distance (though still really cool to see in the wild!). There are many other places to see them in Sardinia so if that’s your main reason, just pick a place closest to you rather than coming here. I did enjoy the experience though and really like the surrounding architecture many seem to be complaining about - it makes it unique to see the wildlife in such an urban setting. Edit: since I stayed in the neighbourhood, I came back another time and I would suggest if you’re by car and don’t have luck with flamingos, might be worth driving to a different entrance. You also have a higher chance of seeing various birds in early evening (or morning) than middle of the day. And it’s probably worth it to get a bike or a guided tour. There is so much more to see than what I managed on foot. If you’re bothered by the buildings in the background at this entrance, explore the park further. There are many far more scenic spots.

Free entry attraction, it is not really a park but a walkway around the 2 lakes and across the ruins of what I think are the remaining of the old salt extraction facilities, it is not maintained but the colour of lakes a pale green is amazing as well as the birds.

Read some reviews from ignorant people who says the park is not well-maintained; people should read about the history of the place and how it became as it is today. It is NOT a Zoo or a botanical garden. It’s a wetland and old salt mine. Anyway, I’d recommend taking a guided tour in the buggy or rent bikes at the Infopoint. It is not possible to get very close to the flamingos, which is fine, but do yourself a favor and do a reality- and expectation check before going, or you might expect to be very disappointed. For me, it was amazing to experience flamingoes in Europe in the wild and not just in Africa.

Very interesting environment of disused salt mine which has been inhabited by flamingos! There’s not a lot in the way of information about the mine or the flamingos which I think could be improved. But if you read up on it before hand it’s easy to appreciate. There’s an option to rent a bike and cycle around the park which I recommend. You can get to the flamingos and back within 1hr. There’s also a small cafe and toilets in the visitor center.

At this time of the year there’s not much flamingo left plus you have to walk like 15 to 20 minutes from the bus stop to the parc. Plus you have to bring your picnic otherwise there is no restaurant to eat.

uuumm, listen, this is a waste of time. It’s ugly. It’s not taken care of there’s not many flamingos there, trash is everywhere, there are no beautiful views, end of story. Everywhere you go in this park you can hear the cars on the highway, you cannot escape the urbanization of this town anywhere. I brought a camera with me and I haven’t taken a single shot because everything is ugly - it’s like somebody build a prison or some kind of concentration camps everywhere because of the wires around the entire park and the weird structures that were left here from the 60s it’s really really not pleasant. It doesn’t give the vibe of the nature at all. You still feel like you’re in some kind of movie (not a good one) it’s just left alone to be whatever it is and nobody cleans it nobody is taking care of the plants nobody is taking care of the roads. The way here is super long from the city center- if you don’t have a car it’s very painful and, the cars literally driving through the park all the time and people seem to be OK with it, which seems weird to me. The information center of the park looks like a concentration camp left abandoned and even though the park opens at 6:30 AM the information center with all the bikes you need to ride opens at 9 AM. And the cherry on top - there are very few flamingos here (we came in August) I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARK OR CALGIARI AT ALL.

INCREDIBLE! Whatever budget or dietary requirements you have to go here. Absolute highlight was Profumi di sicilia and their cannolis and arancini (recommend the ragú arancini, much better than the mozzarella and prosciutto). Best cannoli I’ve ever had! Good selection of seafoods, veg, fruits, meats and bread pasta pastry. But don’t go on Monday because the seafood shops are all closed.

I love markets in general and this one fits right in. Great variety of cheese, fish, vegies and frut, lots of bread and snacks (sweet and sour). You can even grab a lunch on a way out. Parking in front is small but you don't wait too long for someone to leave.

A must when you are here in Cagliari. Grab some food on the go. I love those placed, sadly the get more and more rare. So take the opportunity 🫶🏼

The place had a great energy when we got there at 7:30 on a Friday night. We were taken to our table and found so many great sounding choices on the menu that we were lost. Fortunately, our server was amazing, and once we told her what sounded good to us, she helped us pick from among them (and suggested a couple others) to form a terrific menu for us to share, and then recommended a delicious, affordable Sardinian wine to go with it all. Most impressive was her knowledge of the food and its preparation; I love it when a server understands the food that well!

It's a must in Cagliari!!! All local products with very good price, km0 and everybody so gentle. The pecorino cheese. Lovely!!

Fantastic must go experience. One of the great food markets in Italy. Bottom floor is devoted to fresh fish, crustaceans, etc While the upper floor is all about meat, poultry, and produce. A great place to explore for local artisinal cheeses and cured hams, prosciutto, mortadella, etc.

I wouldn't bother going out if my way to go here again. It sold nice fresh fruit, veg, meat and fish, but there was nothing 'ready' to eat at all! And extortionate prices for tourists. They could see us coming a mile off and charged 5 Euros for the tiniest punnet of strawberries! I wouldn't add it to your iteniary at all.

great local market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, cheeses, fish, meat, and some other non perishable groceries. i recommend getting here before 11am as many market sellers have sold out by this point. very reasonable prices and sellers often let you try some products before you buy. cheese can be vacuum packed to take abroad too!

Fabulous market full of fresh fish,meat and fruit and veg as well as bread and savoury and sweet pastries. The best cheese counter I have ever visited for tasting all the wonderful cheeses of Sardegna and we bought 4 kilos!! A must visit venue.

This market is simply amazing 😍😍😍 On a Saturday morning, many locals were shopping their groceries on the two floors dedicated to meat 🍖, vegetables and seafood. This market really gives you a lot of inspiration for a healthy life 🧬🧬🧬

This is really amazing market - fish market is bombastic (ground floor) and local food market (the first floor) is also great. The fish market provides unbelievable variety of fish and sea food. Sales guys are very friendly and you can taste everything. I did enjoy oysters and mussels. We visited the place in the morning on Saturday. Highly recommended to anybody coming to Cagliari.

Beautiful experience. We went for a walk and enjoyed the sunset. The view of the sea with the Devil's Saddle behind it's an unmissable sight. Unfortunately, to get to the tip of the pier the asphalt is all ruined and it is an inconvenience for those who are disabled and in wheelchairs. Lots of boats including sailing ships and fishing boats. I recommend it to relax a bit from the usual routine and get a breath of fresh air. Lots of people walking, playing sports and cycling.

It is always nice for a walk in. There is a wifi public that works only in the entrance and ut is very slow, like some Kb per second only.

In the evening it gets lively and packed with music, food and beer from many local breweries.

Beautiful amphitheatre, must see when into Roman history. Even the lady behind the counter said it’s not worth the visit (3€ I believe) as you can only walk in for 50 m on an elevated and enclosed path. Same view can be seen from the nearby street.

We visited whilst on a one day visit from a cruise ship. We did not have time to enter the theatre but could view it from a platform near the ticket office. It is different from many other amphitheatre and certainly has a long history. It would be worth spending more time to explore it. There appears to be some more renovation taking place as well.

Free to observe the view from the outside - if you climb the hill around the fence - there is an picturesque views to the city and the sea-shore over the theatre. Watch out for pigeons though - they occupied the biggest pine.

There is nothing special to see. The amphitheatre looks like abandoned, but they charge you 3€ if you want to take a walk to the bottom.

Not very well kept, but, essentially, some old ruins. You can see everything without paying to go inside (where a lot of areas looked closed off). Less than 10 mins from Cagliari centre, so, a nice walk.

The amphitheater was ok, not the biggest fan of historical places, but it’s quite amusing that it is so well preserved until now. Also lady that sold us the tickets was very nice, she told interesting facts about this place and recommended some more places to learn the history of this city

Complete rip off. 3 EUR isn't much but you only get to walk down a 50m parth, just to have a slightly worse view compared to the view from the outside. The amphitheater itself would have been a very interesting sight indeed, if it would have been possible to properly see it.

It's worth a wander up the hill if you've never seen an amphitheatre before, however it has been left to ruin (no pun intended) Apparently going through renovation just now. Nice view from up there. Could be a really good tourist spot with some investment.

Currently closed, not open to the public, undergoing restoration, but strangely they still sell tickets so you can only walk down a short ramp with a dead-end....thats lame. Would be nicer to explore the interior arena ....one day, after they finish proper restorations and access walkways..

You cannot go into the site and explore, despite it stating on the website you can and the charge was 3 euros. We tagged onto the end of a guided tour and the history is very interesting. Built in the second century AD. It housed fights between gladiators, men and animals. Some of the original arena area still stands. It was also the seats for public executions and up to 8,000 spectators could be seated. It is fenced all round but you can still take pictures. The area was acquired by the Comune of Cagliari in the 19th Century. Well worth a visit.

It’s impressive that (like anywhere in Italy) you can just be strolling along and find Roman ruins like this. But the place feels a bit abandoned. Even though they’re allegedly doing renovations everything feels a bit sad. Don’t pay to go in. You can see it just fine from the street, especially if you walk a bit farther up the hill.

The theatre itself is very nice to look at and has a cool history, but the €3 per person entrance fee is quite expensive considering you can see it from the street above for free. You also aren't allowed anywhere near it and there's no information about it past the entrance (which you can read before paying the entrance fee). The attendant there didn't explain that it was just a path overlooking the theatre and only accepted exact change. If the money was used to maintain the site, it would have been worth it, but the only sign was so badly worn out and rusted that you could barely read it. We essentially paid to walk 200m take a picture and walk back out.

Smaller than I imagined, but still cool. It’s quite something that some looked at the gorge and said, heck let’s build a amphitheater here. Very impressive

4 euro per person, no guide, not much information provided, you pay downstairs and then you go upstairs to start your visit. Inside there are several rooms, it takes around 15 minutes to visit the whole place, it’s very kept and very clean. I especially enjoy the different lights inside and the paintings on the ceiling.

What a brief but wonderful excursion. This à meander through some stately rooms and offices, noting the amazing baroque period interiors. Paintings of previous mayor's and persons of note. The convening Hall is by far the highlight with its painted and stuccoed ceilings and murano glass chandeliers throughout (an obvious hark buck to once being part of the venetian territories and thus acclimated a lot of the venetian aesthetic and artefact) Also on a side note, the public restrooms are very clean and a great option should a toilet break be needed. Meander the hallways, enjoy the velvet damask wall paper, billowing curtains, stately furniture and a few grand paintings. Enjoy.

Great to see how the kings of Sardegna lived in the past. Entrance fee is not so much. Enjoy the paintings and the view!

This palazzo is a few steps away from the Cathedral of Santa Maria. If you are already in this neighborhood, it makes perfect sense to continue your sightseeing with a visit to this building. The cost is low, the visit will be fast and your enjoyment level commensurate with your expectations.

Best place to visit in Cagliari, it's really beautiful and the architecture is fabulous. It kinda reminds me of Rome.

It is very nice place and if you like a history and beautiful rich interiors you are welcome! Entrance is not expensive (2-4€, I don't remember). Here you can admire rooms of the palace with furniture of 17-19 century, frescas and old pictures, portrets of all kings of Kingdom of Sardegna. The furnishing of the palace rooms wasn't changed and it is amazing. Also you can order an excursion here.

Not much information, staff not that friendly, not that much on show when we visited. Best part was the chandeliers that are actually Cristal from Murano in Venice, not even mention the very small English write up

The best 360view above Cagliari. You can see everything from here. I don't get people who are complaining about the "long 3 miles" walk. There is no 3 miles walk. The bus 5 terminates just next to the park.

A perfect spot to watch sunsets; although you must be careful with the heat, on the top hits harder.

This is one of the most beautiful areas to visit in the city of cagliari.

Opening hours of the castle is an issue. View from up there is okay.
