Wonderful place. Only found in 1995. Still finding remains. It's strange as you have a busy town centre and at the back , all the ruins. Absolutely amazing. Can get a guide or walk yourself. Bit hilly to get to the top but such a great view. 👍

Only 5 euros each and 2ell worth a visit. There is an informative museum piece and a small complimentary guide. the amphitheatre is very well presented and restored. You also get access to the gardens above which lead up to a castle and museum with videos etc. the castle is 3.5 euros (April 2022)

Just amazing only discovered in 1990 after being built over . Go through the museum to enter, this also well worth it. Very quiet when we visited on a winter week day. Highly recommended. Mind you the whole city of Cartagena is wonderful. Lots to do and see. Great history.

The museum is well set out and surprisingly spacious after entering the Tardis like small entrance. Spread over various floors but with escalators it easy to navigate. Some good exhibits highlight the importance of Cartagena as a port in Roman times. The teatro Romano itself is well worth seeing for it's overall effect. Of course it has been heavily restored after having been built on for generations. It is not always easy to see what is original and what isn't, although there are some maps that try to help. But well worth a visit.

Stunning restored amphitheater with additional info on other finds and the surrounding dig area. Beware it can get crowded due to large group tours. You can peer over the edge for free at the street above, but access is not expensive and worth seeing up close if you’re interested.

The entrance to the Museum is not where you think 🤔 it would be. It's located on the main street, we had short wait before entering due to a large cruise ship being in port. Once in you walk around exhibition of finds and work your up the levels to main event.

Well worth a visit if in the area. I took my 3 year old free entrance for him €5 for me. By the way I see people confused on entry point of Teatro, it’s right facing the Ayuntamiento building on the Main Street. There is levels to this place with various Artifacts on display all very interesting. Escalators take you up to the mid level of Teatro. Views are absolutely phenomenal, the place is immaculate and been kept very very well, you can almost feel the atmosphere from years gone by in here. Brilliant day enjoined every minute I will be back again.

A return visit to this epically beautiful place. This is part original and part restored and its obvious where restoration has taken place but its been done so well. The grandness of the place, the beauty and history is wonderful. The museum before you get to the actual theatre is so informative as you find out the various iterations of function of this place. We will come back again!

Arrived too early to enter but could get a good look from the outside, imagine it would be very interesting to be shown around. Very much a sun trap... very hot.

This place is well worth a visit. Cheap entry fee that you don't have to pre book. When we went it was very quiet so you can get great photos without crowds in them. The main building is cool with great AC so you can wander around and read the history in comfort. Outside however is a different story. It was 40c when we went and we couldn't stay too long as it was horrendously hot. I highly recommend a visit to this historic place if you are in the area.

This is a beautiful history place. You will love it if you like Rome history. You can also read about how they discover the theater and the journey to recover. The location is not far away from the old city and if you came with the cars there is a parking place not far away from it. It cost less than €1 to park beside the road.

This is a beautiful Roman amphitheater in the heart of Cartegena. You enter the amphitheater through a series of tunnels and bridges that cross a museum and you can explore the site on your own. If you come to the city and have time for only one place to visit - this is the place. The site is wheelchair accessible and there is a WC for wheelchair users.

This place was awesome! To walk among the theatre stonework that was constructed before Christ was incredible.

Very interesting in the 80 90'' discovered old Roman Teatro. In the 16th century overbuild than in the 19th century dismantled. You can go around, have a nice view over the harbor and the Teatro. You can sit and rest. Recommended!

Nice lighthouse on the top of the hill. Beneath it small lagune. Unfortunately it's no access to the lighthouse itself, it would be nice to climb on the top. The view from nearby is amazing, Mediterranean sea in it's beauty is enormously beautiful. Also nice view to Mar Menor. Free parking. No charge for entering the area.

Beautiful first time I have visited my partner as been before. We parked our motorhome here just 2 minutes walk from the lovely bars and restaurants. A must visit

Nice views and nice lighthouse with interesting history. If you don't speak Spanish you will miss most of it though. Half way up the lighthouse, the guide said they had some leaflet in English for my partner but it was never materialised. The visit started 10 minutes late due to the previous group running behind, but there was nobody to tell you or any waiting area, just a laminated note outside the closed doors of the lighthouse to say you had to wait there for your guide. There are many stairs and it is quite steep that some people will struggle with so, it would be good for the organisation to advertise it better or include some kind of warning to avoid nasty surprises or disappointment.

Beautiful lighthouse on a cliff just beside a bay. You can catch a nice view on the La Manga strip from this cliff. But if you want a lighthouse tour, be careful of its visiting hours and the tours need to be previously scheduled. If you plan to visit the strip, this is a nice stop.

Great area to go for a walk and enjoy the view. Dont be fooled by first look, there is alot of cool places to discover around this area. A kiosk, with great staff, and toilets is positive for sure!

No comment today is Wednesday. Shame, shame , shame. But La Manga same Ghosttown. All beach bar closed… we never come back… booring and this is the season????

Really beautiful beach, gorgeous sand and water, mountains in the background. Worth the extra effort to get there for the day.

The beach itself is rather nice and fairly few people their. I wouldn't give the sand beach 5 stars however, but the cliffs to the right of the beach was amazing! By walking 5 minutes or so we found at least 3 great spots where we could lie down on fairly smooth surface as well as being able to jump or walk into the clear blue water. No other people in sight. Went there two days in a row and will definitely return when I'm in the area in the future! The only downside is that you need to park your car 10 minutes drive from the beach, pay 3€ per person and take a bus (which leaves every 30 minutes) to get to the beach. All in all: for couples who'd like some privacy - find great cliffs to the right of the beach. For families (or others) who'd like a beach with fewer people - just pick a spot on the main beach.

The trip was totally worth it! I went with a friend that is a local so we had the pass to get directly into the parking area. Virgin beach with golden sand and limpid water, it was a great day!

Nice virgin beach with crystalline water...nothing breathtaking but worth a visit. Lots of path to do some hiking if you want to. There are 5km of unpaved street to get here.

Awesome place, views, history. Great to spend a few hours, kids were enjoying the tunnels and stairs inside the Fortress. Parking is a bit limited as the official parking place had washed out ditch and required a skilled driver to enter, thus most parked along the road. But very few people, so no problems at all.

Wow. Crazy drive into the mountains to get to the battery and castle but so so worth it! A fantastic adventure. my 10 year old boy loved walking through the old garrison buildings. Make sure you have enough petrol and take some drinking water. no shops for miles. The views are exceptional.

Nice to spend one hour. I believe the sunset is even nicer to see from here.. we couldn't wait that long. You can enter the bunker and explore. The road is narrow from time to time. Also, I don't know if you're allowed to go with camper vans.

Super nice place to see. Stunning view and the canons are amazing for a photo spot. You can go there by car but be aware that the street is sometimes quite catchy cause of the big chuckholes. Better you come with a SUV or Jeap or at least drive super slow in certain places.

Entrance is free (October 2021) Parking is very poor (see photos) The drive to the parking lot is very narrow, and there are many points where 2 cars can't pass each other. We combined our visit there, with a long hike in the area, to a nice beach.

Breathtaking place, the views are simply amazing. Another good thing about it is that it is free, don't have to pay anything to enter. I'd say that the only bad thing about the place is that there's only one road to get in and to get out. It is kinda narrow as well as a little bit broken so if yall plan to go there, drive safe.

Second time we have been here and it is still an amazing place to have a walk around. Not ideal for those with pushchairs as can be difficult in places. Would advise to get there early morning as there is limited parking and also depending on the weather it can get very hot. Also advisable to take water. As always the drive up to the guns is always fun although a little more pot holed than I recall. Apologies if you do not like the black and white photos but I think it adds a nice little touch.

If you can stomach the drive up to the guns you will be rewarded with fantastic views but more importantly the architecture and guns still remain. Lots to see and walk around. Can't believe that it is free as it is maintained well. You certainly must visit

If you’re looking for amazing views, a bit of history and some adventure, this is the place. We did the way from Camposol to the place and was fun, you can drive up to the place, the road is old, narrow and with lots of portholes, be careful. At the entrance of the Castilitos Baterry is a small parking. Nice place with beautiful views from every corner. The place is free of charge, with not any facilities around, wear appropriate shoes, clothes, carry water and food with you if you stay longer. Under the big two cannons are some tunnels we can go and you need torch to see. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my visit to this disused fortified Castle with its amazing views over the Cartegena area. I parked my motorhome in La Azohia and walked to the Batallion along the coastal path walk which is very challenging but great fun, approx 10 mile round trip. Entrance is free and there is so much to see in a few different locations. The day I went the weather was overcast but still nice views.

Arrived at the bottom of the steep narrow winding and seen the sign for no campervan or motorhome past this point. Cars and motorbikes allowed.We decided to go for the 8km journey on our E bikes and we were so glad they were E bikes with strong motors and battery life. It was a fantastic trip with awesome scenery to see the fortress. Once there the view point gets even better. A really enjoyable morning cycle visit

Fabulous place to visit. Can take up to 3 hours to walk around it all, make sure it's early morning or later in the day as it gets very hot. No cost to visit, take care inside some of the buildings as walls / ceilings are unsafe. It gives you a true sense of military life... officer's accommodation, army barracks, artillery stores, lookout posts etc. It was fascinating to see how the shells for the guns were transported from the artillery stores on a track, then hoisted up to be loaded. The guns, although sadly defaced with graffiti as is most of the area, are huge and dominate the skyline... very impressive. Well worth a visit.

The castle is very beautiful in the middle of a picturesque nature and overlooks the sea from the top of the mountain, but the road to it from the bottom to the top is about ten kilometers, a little bumpy, narrow, sloping and winding a lot on one side of the mountain and on the other side a valley to the sea. I recommend visiting, but drive with extreme caution.

The road was somewhat rough, but problem-free. Spectacular scenery, rich history. Kids loved it! Perfect for combining with a hiking adventure all the way down to the sea. Highly recommended!

This is a large museum, on the port next to the marina aptly enough. We parked in the underground car park on the same street and it was a few minutes walk to the museum. Entrance was possibly €6 each but I can't quite remember. The museum is modern and well laid out, starting with an explanation of what marine archeology actually is, what it covers and what it tries to achieve. It also showed how the tools and resources have changed as technology moves on but also the dangers as the treasure hunters become equally sophisticated. The later section is a chronological display of items recovered and an explanation of how maritime trade worked and what the trade routes were. This started with a Phonecian vessel and continued to the nineteenth century. There is also a good little shop and I think there's a cafe on the upper floor but we didn't go there. We spent over an hour inside and it was a fascinating visit.

Interesting content, displayed well, but a lot of the interactive exhibits aren't working - not sure whether this is due to Covid, or other reasons. Entry was free, though, so I can't complain too much!

This marine archaeology museum in Cartagena is superb. Amazing artefacts from Phœnician , Roman, Byzantine, Moorish and Spanish wrecks, all incredibly well preserved and conserved. A set of Roman slingshot bullets looked like they were freshly cast, as were ingots of lead, tin and bronze. A big set of very large Roman anchor stocks were a great surprise as they were all well preserved lead castings too. A modern, stylish and very well presented museum. Level access throughout.

Took the opportunity to visit during the Museum Night weekend and was super impressed with the exhibits displayed. Though it was quite disappointing to see that not all stations were functioning i.e. interactive buttons does not respond (not sure whether it has been deactivated due to pandemic safety measures). Overall a great exposure to the underwater archeological history and would definitely recommend families to visit as means of educational purposes!

A relatively small museum, and very interesting. I'm not sure small children would get much out of it as most of the first half of the museum involves a lot of reading. There are some great models and artefacts in the second half though, and the ship cross section is a highlight.

Interesting museum with a considerable amount of information in English. I far the best exhibit are the remains of a wooden Punic ship that are 2700 years old. The museum staff is Spanish only. You wonder a bit why they employ three guards if they sit together in one corner all the time.

This was one of the more underwhelming sites of our visit to Cartagena. The cost for entrance to the 'castle'-proper was 3.75 euros per person. Of sites in the city of similar cost this was simply not worth it. The views from the surrounding hill top are just as good (and free). Paying for admission provides you with little additional benefit there is a short video, few artefacts, and the ability to walk through one of the cisterns but this is definitely not worth the money.

You can either walk up here or take the left but either way other than there being high point of you of the city there was nothing to see here in this fortress. I thought paying three fifty euros was a waste . the restrooms are inside after you pay . you can’t use the restrooms until after you pay.

Visited Cartagena a few times, but never went to this museum before. And during our last trip we decided to finally spend some time in this museum. We saw great peace of history, part of original roman road and building. Learned some more about their advanced skills to that time. Thank you!

Great view of the Alhambra, but gets very busy in anticipation of a good sunset.

Fantastic, walk through museum. Beginning in a conventional sense before taking through the forum itself. Wonderful how they have integrated the modern and ancient. Probably unsuitable for those of unsure footing, so take a helping hand! The forum paving is 1800 yrs old! If you've got wheels, they have you covered, with lifts on all the stairs. Allow a couple of hours to experience it all.

An eye candy for the lovers of Roman archeology. Roman Curia, temple of Isis, Atrium and thermae where you can clearly see how the Roman baths worked (and the parts they consisted of.) Carefully preserved mosaic and elements of colorful wall decorations. Totally worth the money and time spent. Also don't miss the free archeological park up the hill.

This place is interesting only as an end point of La Manga. If you want to tick „I made it to the end“ I suggest to go a bit further and find a path to the dunes. There might be some birds and crabs.

Car park at the side, you can walk up with viewing platform. It's called the Laughing Bridge, you will see why when you drive over it!

At the end of the Manga, nice construction with magnificent views, but nothing more. Be careful when there are a lot of people, there is hardly any sidewalk. Of course, if you are in the area, it is something else to see.

Really nice hotel and facilities. Great selection of restaurants and fantastic buffet breakfast. Great for golfing nuts (I’m not one), or those who just want to hang by the pool.

We were there for the Wasps rugby team and it was lovely staff accomodation just the whole thing was beautiful. Thank you

La Manga Golf Club has 3 different golf courses: North, South and West. Today we played South course. The course was in good condition except some greens. After round we arrived to 37 Spikes & Sport bar at 16:00 o'clock. The waitress said that they don't have food anymore? Well after few minutes the food was available. I ordered club sandwich which was a little bit disappointment. The sandwich was quite small (it had plenty of french fries).

South course a good challenge and in good condition. North course average at best. Awful practice facilities - all the putting and chipping greens seemed to be roped off for lessons all morning, every morning. Range mats are all worn out and the range balls have no dimples left. Food expensive and not very good. Not a premium experience. Given the choice, would go to Vilamoura every time.

Beautiful golf courses and excellent practice area. Good pro shop. Club rental, trolley and buggy rental.

Played Golf today at La Manga North course and wasn't overly impressed. The condition of the course was not as you would expect for the price we paid. The greens were riddled with disease and painted green to try and hide this. If you want a decent round of golf stay clear at the moment.

The changes and the upgrades are fantastic I’m sure it’s worth the money but usually stay for 2 or 3 weeks and the rate has sadly priced us out of this hotel. However we stay for 2 or 3 night visits for the tennis courts which are the big draw card for us

Nice hotel with excellent service. The rooms are renovated just the bathroom looks old. The swimming pool is decent size but is outdated. The breakfast is outstanding.

The nature of the place is really beautiful, and the surrounding is very suggestive. Unfortunately the beach is full of rubbish, and the water even worse , full of plastics on the surface, and if you want to go snorkelling be careful as the right side is literally full of glass all over the rocks. Beach is full of trash left by the people and cigarettes.

We went to the beach on a weekday and it was amazing, not many people and everyone was very friendly :)

Dated 1907, this historic building is in constant use to this day. Built and designed in an art deco fashion, the building is full of grand staircases, crystal chandeliers, light fixtures and intricate plaster and wood work. The marquetry is phenomenal! A guided tour is 1€ per person and is well worth the time.

I love this place. It has been recently restaured, which took years and years. It's beautiful both inside and outside. The staff isn't too kind, though. Even if you are celebrating a wedding ceremony there, they won't make an effort for you.

It's need more attention and safety procedures....Very beautiful garden with multiple types of trees , you have to take the lift to reach up there yet you have to pay 2€ per person... There's a way around to get up! But you have to be in a good physical shape or you can add it to your daily sport activities.... Masks are needed especially inside the lift and while you are wanting in the queue for the lift.... people with wheelchair can enjoy the view up, I found it accessible up there. Just above the museum is this lovely park, it's quite big but ones you get up to the top it's a breathtaking view over the marina and the city, you can see a mix of old and new constructions across the city, this is a must for everyone that is going to visit!

Torres Park is an oasis of medieval culture and nice shadows in one place. Very nice view opens from the top of tower - all the town is like on your palm. Inside the Tower you will have a short, but very informative and well made survey through the history of Spain. Here you can decide, where to go next, or have some rest in the park.

Important historical place, Port city , naval base, Roman ruins, theater, colosseum. A must see capital city.

Beautiful park, 3 peacocks roam free and ducks; you can see Roman theatre from there and you end up in city at end of trail.

Highly recommended. Sessions available in English if needed. Paula was very welcoming, Alba gave a fantastic tour of the museum and factory. Tony gave us a wonderful masterclass showing how versatile this unique liquor can be. The fluent English made it easy to get answers to any questions. Groups can be large or small, but that is the luck of the draw as a tourist...we were lucky enough to be just two of us even though a group of 60 went through that same morning. I was able to purchase liquors in the range that are not available on Australia. I did suggest that global shipping options be available at the store (it is too difficult to arrange this myself from Cartagena with limited Spanish); if available I would have bought much more! Booked the 1 hour long Visita Premium for myself and 3 others - 3 massive Licor 43 fans, and one designated driver! The tour starts with a tasting of the original Licor 43, followed by a presentation in the auditorium about the history. Then there’s a really interesting tour of the museum that has loads of fascinating articles, charting the evolution of Licor 43 - from production to famous marketing campaigns. Then there’s a taster of some of the new flavours (I’m a big fan of the chocolate edition!). Following on, there’s an in-depth tour of the production process - right from secret formulation through to bottling, quality control and packing. Finally we got a demo on how to make Ginger43 cocktail and got to drink it too. I learned to put Licor 43 in AFTER the ginger ale (rookie error). Also got to try the baristo version. Our English speaking guide, Paola was exceptionally welcoming and knowledgable. I think she’s a real credit to the company. There’s a shop there, that sells all the new flavours and the original Licor 43 in various sizes, as well as lots of other gifts like drinking glasses so that you can recreate the experience at home. This was a Licor 43 lovers paradise!!! I came away with an assortment of glasses and flavours - and I was also really impressed with the branded shopping bags The cost of the tour is very reasonable and I would highly recommend it if you’re visiting the Cartagena area. I have every intention of coming back and doing the 2 hour long experience that includes fruit picking and a cocktail making masterclass.

Exellent licor and a very nice experience. The guide talked good english, showed us around and let us taste the diffrent kinds of Licor 43. She also showed us how to do a very cooling drink with Licor 43 and Ginger Ale. A realy nice experience, that I recommend!

THANK YOU ANA!!! We took a trike tour and we had them drop us off at Experiencia 43 the Liquor 43 factory and tasting room. Big fans from Mexico and USA we got a wonderful vip tour from Ana the lead person who due to our time constraints gave us an abbreviated tour. Great knowledge and hospitality she went out of her way to give us a taste (literally and figuratively) of the history and future of Liquor 43. We will be back and enjoy the bottles we bought! Very nice tour with a lot of different tasting. Good environment! Paola was very friendly and told a lot about the fabric. The cocktail on the end was delicious and fresh. We bought some nice gin wich we could taste also and of course a bottle of liquer 43 It is a nice 2 hours to spend and afternoon you can even go for lunch in Cartagena

Well set out. Little museum and presentation explaining the development and advertising over the years. A bar and shop with various samples to try. Personally I don't like liquor but when they turned it onto a cocktail it was lovely. There was also a tour of the factory on an overhead walkway, very interesting. Plus I just like the architecture of the buildings. Worth a visit.

Super tour. Lots of history about the company but very little about the production process. Lovely people who are very helpful. Well laid out and suitable for those with restricted mobility. We did the picking tour and it was a small group of us. It turns out that the company manufactures a lot more than just 43 and we got to try 8 of the drinks they manufacture, and could have tried more. Personally I could only sip a little as I was driving. I see why this sells out so quickly. You must book in advance.

Nice view through the factory, interesting historical facts and delicious drinks. Our guide Anthony was delightful and very helpful and answered all our questions perfectly. Would recommend, very fair price for 20 EUR per person.

I enjoyed the experience; you can taste the different flavors of Licor 43. You'll also get some background story about how it originated. And yes! All bottles from all over the world come from this one factory. It's definitely a recommendation and takes just the right amount of time.

We really enjoyed the tour with masterclass, the staff is very passionate about the brand which really shows during a tour. We visited 05/01/24 12.00hrs. I hope management is reading, you have a great team there! Only thing I missed was an public EV charger 😉

Firstly , Alba is a credit to your company. She was incredible. Nothing too much trouble. Helped with gift vouchers, booking, return taxis. She is amazing. Then the tour. Welcome hot towels and drinks, the history of the family is amazing . If you are Neurodiverse, I would speak to them first about going into the factory as very bright and loud. However, I am sure they will have a solution when you talk to them. They accommodate dietary requirements too. Then the finale. A masterclass making 3 cocktails with all ingredients laid out, followed by nibbles. It was really great and a lovely birthday present for my friend . Thank you to everyone. We were asked for any suggestions, I would have loved to pick an orange or lemon from their trees, or something botanical, just to enhance the experience of something so unique . Thanks again Karen

Gio was an amazing tour guide and was very funny and very knowledgeable! He even gave more cocktail ideas with Licor 43 when the tour was over! Would absolutely recommend this tour to friends!
