This has to be one of the best sea life centres we have been to. Both children ( ages 2 and 6) loved it. Stunning views from the cafe, you can see right across loch Lomond. Lots of sea creatures to see and educational bits as you go round. Hands on experiences too. Price was one of the more reasonable ones we have been to.

Really enjoyed my experience at sea life today. The staff were very polite and welcoming and when explaining the turtles enclosure we were given a great introduction to her story. The receptionist was lovely and very welcoming. Only issue I had with this experience is it is very short for the price paid, however I did enjoy myself and Will be back !

We’ve been here before and this time we took my mum along. Unfortunately I forgot it was the Easter holidays and the place was full of families with their kids. That being said you could still move around easily and it wasn’t that stressful. The observation deck is a must see as it looks out over Loch Lomond. There are plenty of animals and an interesting rock pool where you can touch some of the animals. You must read the story about their turtle as well, April her name is. A fantastic place and well worth the visit.

Must go for the kids. They even have a quiz card where you need to answer by reading all the facts mentioned about the sea creatures . At the end if u answer all correctly they give a small gift for kids. It also has a restaurant with a scenic view on 3rd floor which is awesome.

Its beautiful and well maintained aquarium. Very friendly staff. Located at a lovely site. View from the top of the building is amazing. Its a small and nice aquarium with few other visitors so you can spend quite a while glancing fishes. I had discounted tickets for this so definitely worth a visit along with my other plans at Loch Lomond.

A really great place to wander around. Three levels, but only the ground floor has live exhibits which is a bit of a shame. While I can see why they do the ten minute time slots, as things might get a bit cramped, it really is annoying! The otters are adorable and I really recommend going during feeding time!

Enjoyed this Sea life centre as we’ve been to a few. It’s a bit smaller than others which has four floors the top has a great viewpoint over Loch Lomond then there’s a cinema which was playing cartoons when we went great for young children and a cafe on one of the upper floors and the sea life attraction on the ground floor. Take your time and read the information and it’s worth visiting but we both think the Brighton Sea-life centre is better. Get in with the Kellogg’s BOGOF tickets when they are available ( like we did)and it’s a great place to visit.

Booked last minute with no problem on getting a time. The staff were very friendly throughout. The aquarium displays are well laid out and plenty of things to see in each tank. Timed out visit well for feeding time and seeing the otters out in their enclosure.

Fabulous day out. It's not just an aquarium either. They have an otter enclosure too, a nice restaurant and amazing views over Loch Lomond from the observation deck. The tropical ocean tunnel is the highlight of the trip.

Compact, but split over 4 levels. Awesome day out with baby! She loved the lights and watching the fish! Great variety of fish and otters! Worth booking in advance for better ticket prices and deals! Guidebook also very detailed and not just about exhibits but their conservation efforts and is good wee read! Lovely day had by family!

This place is brilliant! We loved it just as much as our 6yr old boy. Highly recommend! The octonauts cinema was a great break half way through the aquarium. The views from the 4th floor were tremendous! The touch pool is small but plenty for little ones to touch. Route in and parking is a tad misleading if you follow satnav as its not signposted for the aquarium.

This place has gives access to the under sea world that we would only be able to see in movies. It's life! Charge for tickets (at the door or book on line). Cafe inside. Cinema with small video for children education. Truly a Lovely place. Worth the visit if you have never been to an aquarium. They do amazing work in the waters all around Scotland to preserve nature. Inside is many wonderful exhibitions to show case the animals. The attention to detail is so adorable. We took an hour can take longer if you look and read more info.

Great aquarium for sea life in Loch Lomond, the staff are very friendly, there was a lady who welcomed us, and she took a photo for everyone, then she gave me a QR code, so, after the tour, I can print my photo through it. The aquarium was great and suitable for families and children. There is a cinema on the second floor showing some cartoons about sea life for children. Also, there is a cafe on the third floor with a fabulous view. The fourth floor is a terrace, so you can take some wonderful photos. I recommend booking tickets in advance. Highly recommended.

Extremely nice, you must buy tickets in advance online, but you can do it right when you get there... the store is cashless, but the café takes cash on the 3rd floor. The movie Theater is quite large! Beautiful views!!

Very nice place for family. Various of marine life, and a section for you to touch on some starfish and sea anemone. They have a cinema showing cartoon which is free and could let you to take a rest. Cafe is good. also have a nice view at the roof at 4/F.

Although it’s getting very expensive to take a family there the setting hasn’t much changed over the years. Still it’s a good place to bring the kids as it does have an educational value. With the staff it’s a hit or a miss. Some are bored doing the job for too long and others are energetic and willing to teach the kids. The aquarium has a range of tropical fish small and large to very large. Please pay a visit to April the stumpy turtle. She has a nice rescue story on the wall. The hands on experience stall is great for kids to touch some sea creatures. The cafe is basic but has great views over Loch Lomond. Tip: Please blindfold your kids when they leave. The shop is inconveniently located at the end of the ride and has a lot of overpriced toys for your kid to yell for!

This place is really good it blew my mind I had never been and I thought it wad amazing. I think I enjoyed it more that my grand children well worth a visit. Staff also amazing

Visited on a Thursday afternoon. Appeared to be very family friendly and set up well for young kids. This is perhaps at the expense of catering for adults and older children. Limited information about sea life and lochs. Some of the screens next to Aquariums appeared to be malfunctioning. Quite busy at places. Tanks very clean and the inhabitants seem well cared for. Unless you have a child I would not recommend the program. Expect to pay around £40 for 2 adults.

Excellent facilities right outside the loch Lomond lake and village shopping centre type. Price is reasonable, expect a little more. Four floor. Bottom is shops and Sealife animals. Small and confused layout but then u can go round or go back different direction. There are lifts to all floor, but couldn't find stairs from first floor to second floor nor the other way down. Second floor is just cinema cartoon for under age of 8, third floor is cafe overlooking the lake view which is top notch and fourth floor is outside view. The animals is well look after and could see April the turtle is well look after after concern floating up top, however found out she couldn't return wild due to her performing that she can't go under water and lost her flipper. Small Tunnel with overhead fish floating by. Overall good 2-3 hrs max visit for a young toddler

Took a trip to Lomond shores for the day, to get out of the city and enjoy some nature. The weather wasn’t the best so we ended up spending the morning at the Sea Life Centre and had a really fab day. It was great to see all the different aquatic life, and we got there just in time to see the otters being fed. Not for the squeamish! We grabbed coffee at the Costa in the canteen and used the viewing platform to see the beauty of Loch Lomond - but avoiding all the rain and wind. Scotland gotta love it.

Nice place but a little underwhelming. Staff at front desk were incredibly friendly, the aquarium itself felt reasonably small, you almost feel like you need to go slow to get your monies worth but what is there is lovely to see and very interesting and informative. The otters were hard to see with how the tank is set up with splashing water and dirty windows. The cinema is purely for children rather than an informative space you might find in other places. Cafe was good with nice views but no prices or menus on display (except for costa coffee) made it awkward to order. All outdoor areas including the viewpoint were locked, assuming because it’s winter but shame you can’t access and no warning until you try the doors that areas are shut.

We visited here for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday, and so glad we did. We had an amazing, fun and informative day, me especially could’ve went round it again. It was quiet, so we kinda had the place to ourselves, so we got to see everything and didn’t feel rushed. The place is very clean, colourful and there’s plenty of sea life to see, and staff are very welcoming and friendly. We spent just under 2 hours in the place, and we went up to the view point on the 4th floor, just hoped we had a clearer day.

Have to pre book online to gain entrance from the front entrance. A definite must 👌 for either adult or young children. Loads of different fish to see & even walking in the water tunnel with fish swimming over your head. A magical place.

The best aquarium you will find in Scotland, a must visit for anyone interesting in sea animals. It is very good for family days out or just for a wee wonder. It's only 30 minutes from Glasgow and about 1 hour and a half from Edinburgh and surrounding areas. The first floor features the massive aquarium that features huge tanks and spaces for the animals, a tunnel with sharks and rays swimming above and around you, and so many more like the semi circle like tank you can walk around that has a mixture of lots of interesting and cute animals, trust me you will be amazed inside the place, as well as a gift shop which has really nice plushies and other little things, the second floor has a Octonauts cinema, the third a very good café with lovely service and food and the forth floor has a big viewpoint of Loch Lomand. There's lots of types of sharks, rays, as well as shrimps, a turtle named April which was rescued and brought here, otters, and so many more interesting sea creatures!! It is well worth the £23 adult full day ticket. It took us about 2 hours to get around it all (and enjoy the café and viewpoint).

What a view, we didn't have too long here, enough to have a walk around. Unfortunately they don't do boat trips around the Loch from here anymore, they are a 10 minute walk up the road, they have a sea life centre, no idea of price, they have a bird of prey centre on site, which is £9 adult to go in, and flying displays at various times. They have a small parade of shops on ground level, Frazers which had a reasonably priced cafe , they have a health food shop, & shoe & school uniform , & a couple of gift shops. We didn't go upstairs but there is a nail salon & a Jurassic Grill restaurant, the only blot on the landscape is a hotel/spa which has unfortunately closed down about 3 years ago it would make a lovely place to stay with wonderful views.

Good place for shopping, there is no wide variety of stores, many of them for kids. Little number of restaurants there, and one of them closed at 3 pm, I guess, but the cafe was still open after 3 pm. The most interesting things are the views and the shores, there were many setting areas on the shores and you can take a boat, and other staffs for water exercises.

It's a beautiful place, good for children, the view of the lake and hills is beautiful. So many activities are also available for them, and if you like walking you can go for a long walk besides the shoreline.

It is beautifull, tranquil, at least at this time of year it is. I got there by train, and follow the path along the river. It takes you for a walk around, Balloch Castle & there's also a wall garden. At this time of year all is bare, but there is not many people. Coming down from the Castle, you can see the Loch & just wander along the shores. It's not crowded at the moment, I'm sure in the summer, it must be a lot more people there.

Great concept & location but its a shame that the retail units weren't occupied by local artisan producers, rather than run of the mill high street shops. Sealife Aquarium is located here so might be a good rainy day option for families. There are 2 eateries, one cafe and the other a restaurant/grill with some outdoor seating. Some water sports are available and of course lovely walks around the Loch if you venture further northwards.

Beautiful lake that is so exquisite and serene on a March evening without any tourists. It was liberating to enjoy the vastness of the lake with the distant mountains in the background.

Really lovely place, so Accessible for all abilities. The red squirrel walk was lovely, didn't see any squirrels but was a lovely walk and wheelchair accessible. Car park is big and free, overall just a lovely place to go.

Nice place to visit with family. Large array of shops catering mostly to tourists and other visitors. Entertainment for kids and young teenagers. Great even for just a little walk along the sea front.

Shopping centre is a typical TMP, Tourist money extraction point. Often food and craft fairs on outside at the weekend. Small but interesting engine house next to the dry-docked paddle steamer. Try the Pedalos for £25 p1/2 hour , tho' go for an hour. Great views of the paddle steamer if you get on the loch. Nice walks around too.

Nice shops, lovely Sunday Market. Clean public toilets. Gorgeous location with a very nice play area for little ones. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Lovely for a day out.

First time I've visited here , and of course 4 seasons in one day but I still loved it here . Thought the loch looked magnificent. Never guessed there would be a wee shopping mall here and I was more surprised by the prices , very very reasonable , well done ✅

A very beautiful place to visit. My family and I went canoeing. Theres a place you can hire kayaks, canoes, paddling boats etc. And it isn't very expensive. For the 5 of us we paid £30 for a canoe for half an hour The shores are very lively. They have a market nearby, there is free parking on site. The food from the food trucks was amazing.

Excellent - could do with more baby change and a toilet in the baby change room (what are we supposed to do if we need the toilet at the same time or are potty training?!). That said I love the tiny sinks. Also nice to see the centre still has places there. Will be coming back

Visiting on a bright early August day, it was surprisingly quiet when we arrived shortly after opening. It did fill out by midday but not to any extreme. The shopping mall was smaller than I expected but had the key types of shops you would expect. Though the toilets were not as plentiful as I would expect (and like to have with my condition). Queues often formed but didnt last long, thankfully. Wouldnt want to put that to the test when the place is really busy. Anyway, nice walk to the maid of Loch Lomond, plenty activities to choose from (due to school holidays they had a few low key fair rides - e.g. large inflatable slide, small carousel, trampolines, and air ball over water). They also had plenty of outside food stalls in addition to the standard cafes. We took a 50 minute tour across the loch too. Followed by a short walk along their guided path. Plenty of other options we didnt get to try (tree adventures and birds of prey to name two). A lovely day and hope to come back.

Fantastic venue for a day out. Family friendly and its on the flat with great wheelchair access and easy access for anyone with walking difficulties. There is plenty of scope for walks, and Balloch is around a 15 minute walk away. Loads of options at the Shores for something to eat too.

Not much going on generally when I last visited. Shopping area looks a bit tired and packed full of small stores into a space previously occupied by an anchor store. Still great walks around the loch but needs an upgrade.

Loch Lomond Shores is a stunning destination. The serene waters of Loch Lomond, beautiful surrounding landscapes, and a variety of activities make it a must-visit. Whether you're into scenic walks, shopping, or simply enjoying nature, this place has it all. Highly recommended!

I hated this place but the family didn't mind it. It's a really weird layout, sports direct and Fraser's take up half and then there are some smaller shops on the opposite end, some outdoor clothes shops, gifts shops and a good shop selling a mix of gifts and local merch. Also Thornton's with a cafe. If you go during summer you may get to do a lot more than we did, as there's boat trips, woodland all there and if you can afford it a sea life. A huge amount of parking is available.

The shops are nothing much to shout about. Sports direct, Fraser's (which is very expensive), a shoe shop, winter outlet store (good value) and a couple of other little stores. There is also a sea life centre and a couple of places to eat. But mainly came for the views and they are excellent. Some nice walks to be had as well.

Not been to Loch Lomond Shores for a long time. Jenners is now Fraser's and Sports Direct so not so upmarket. Otherwise the usual sort of shops you find at the likes of Gretna Gateway but on a smaller scale. Surroundings of the outlet framed by Loch Lomond so very pleasant. Parking is ample and free.

Beautiful place to have a day out. Scenery is just stunning. Fantastic gift shops. So many activities for families to enjoy and a beautiful beach side to have your lunch etc. Highly recommend visiting if your out and about in Loch Lomand area.

Oft! Not great. Came here last year, couldn't get a seat, was so busy. We squeezed in just for a drink because the setting and the bar itself is stunning. Was excited to book a table for lunch this year. Made a booking for 3pm but arrived at 2.30 for drinks. They then told us at 2.45 we need to order as the kitchen was closing but we told them our booking wasn't til 3 and they told us the kitchen was closing at 3...... All good, we knew what we wanted anyway. Staff were interested in being helpful. Table weren't being cleared. We had to sit at a dirty table and only when I started clearing myself did someone help me. Food was pretty bad as well and very pricey. Nothing fresh tasting. Saving grace was a nice bottle of wine with good scenery. Just not the best experience... I would probably still have a drink here but not to expect much

We came here for a meal and was very disappointed by the slow/unorganized service. Wasn't advised at all of the unacceptably long wait when we ordered and paid for meal plus drinks at same time. 1 hour and a bit later I was getting cross ,so asked my hubby to go in and ask about how much longer, as we had our dog with us who also wanted his dinner back at our lovely campsite. Our dinner arrived several minutes later. The young waitress was very sweet and kept apologizing. We felt sorry for her working with such an unorganized restaurant. I wouldn't have put this review but I was so shocked and angry by the VERY rude treatment that the really nice family on table behind us got. They also went in to find out how much longer for their meal only to be told that the order hadn't been processed and would have to be taken again but I think it was then to late. Bar staff ganged up on the family and accused THEM of being rude! The lady was shaking with rage when she came out and told us how she had been treated. The experiance ruined my meal . It's like they know we are tourist's and won't see us again so don't give a monkeys. So this is why I'm putting a review to warn others and I will tell campsite manager also not to recommend this place.

Waited 30 min for drinks, when checking with the waitress she was very confused and didn’t seem to know what we ordered with her. Ended up leaving, as people were getting their drinks who came in before us, just doesn’t feel very nice does it? 4 waiters one bartender and no drink in sight, laughable.

Picture this. You are down in the pub having a pint (or a few) along with a GREAT meal. The staff has been more than accommodating. They feel like family. You head upstairs, as you’ve booked a room for the night. You lay in bed, window open, listening to the falls that rage endlessly across the street. You’ve had a great night. You made the right choice to come here.

Well worth a stop off for the food and take in the beautiful surrounding views It's would be an injustice to call this pub food. We were served with a beautifully prepared, home made and hearty delicious meal. Served fresh and piping hot. A lovely selective menu, you will not be disappointed. We had all 3 courses and each plate delighted the taste buds. The icing on the cake is that it's dog friendly, and you even order a meal for the pooches This place is delightful, and worth a visit. Well done to this establishment on providing an excellent setting and service 🥰

Booked a table here for my birthday lunch with my husband and two dogs because they claim to be dog friendly. At most dog tolerant I would say. Did not check to see if we needed water for the dogs to drink despite it being a hot day. Our waitress seemed nice and quite efficient. We shared the scottish tapas starter which was nice and an adequate portion to share. We then both took the smoked salmon linguine which looked lovely when it arrived and seemed to contain a good amount of fish. However, it totally lacked flavour and really needed some kind of sauce to pull it together. Very disappointing.

One of the best weekends of my life was recently spent here. It's simply fantastic, one of the friendliest hotels I've visited. Great staff, great food, good whisky choice and a roaring fire. It's a very old building and it's got its quirks but that just adds to the experience. Outside are the Falls of Dochart and we were able to see them in spate. They're an excellent location for photography. It won't be long before we visit again.

We didn't stay here we just drove from Glasgow for a nice lunch. It didn't disappoint. It's an hour and a bit from Glasgow and when the weather is nice it makes for a lovely drive along the Trossachs and crianlarich. Lunch here was very tasty. Had the venison burger which was great. Sticky toffee pudding was a bit on the dry side but not much to complain about. We went for a lovely walk after before driving back. Totally recommend on a nice sunny day

Excellent stop on bike trip, fresh homemade scones were delicious as was the mahoooosive sausage roll. Place was very clean and well maintained, staff were friendly and welcoming. Lots of seating options indoors and outdoors

We popped into the Inn while staying in Killin. We only wanted drinks and to play some family Uno! The staff were great and allowed us to use a 'reserved' table so long as we exited prior the booking arriving. The staff were lovely and my Wife had a lovely chat to the Manager and her beautiful dog.

We ate here last night, during our week stay in Killin. Very lovely staff, really friendly. We managed to find a table that was available inside, which felt very cosy. We had the breaded fish and chips and beef burger. And honestly, even now I can’t stop thinking about how phenomenal the fish was. Would absolutely recommend - delicious food, fast service, a very relaxed place. They’re dog friendly too which is always great. We look forward to coming back next time!

I came here for my friends 25th birthday for dinner and we had the most amazing evening, with a combination of delicious food and the most beautiful well kept traditional pub I have ever been too with a huge open fire. However, it was the staff that made our evening. In particular, a shout out to the bar lady that gave me some butter. I hope your good energy and sense of humor is recognized. Sending good vibrations.

Very friendly and warm welcome ,a building full of character with a huge open fire. The food here is excellent ,we enjoyed it so much we went back again the following night. Excellent locally sourced produce. If you want a taste of Scotland you should definitely give this place a try. It's also located opposite the falls so the location and views are also excellent.

Have been to Falls of Dochart in Killin a number of times. We are never disappointed. Such a beautiful location, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming with roaring fire. The food is always very tasty with generous portions. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. Would hugely recommend.

What a lovely experience! We stopped off here for some dinner after visiting Ben A'an. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were super helpful. The food was to die for (this is coming from a picky eater)! And the portions were a great size too. Overall brilliant! Would love to visit again if we go to Scotland.

We only stopped here for food so not sure about lodgings. We had to wait a fair bit for service which was pretty much the only downside to the whole visit. New lady on the floor was trying hard but probably needed a bit more support for what seemed like a busy night. Hamburger was a real delight. It’s great to have local toppings such as the cheese. Portions great for price and really filling as I had no room for anything after. Worth a pop in when travelling through Killin.

We were pleased that five of us were able to be accommodated at short notice. The food was really nice and it’s good to visit a pub that actually has a chef! The pub has a nice atmosphere and is right across the road from the amazing falls. The only downside was the miserable bar staff ….

Went for a meal about 7.30pm on a Sunday . Cosy pub and didn’t wait too long for food. Food was great but a little expensive £29 for a steak seemed high. Good service and drinks prices are fine. Would go back. Salmon and linguine very tasty too

A good looking pub with nice country décor. The falls are great and the views are good. However. The service was cold and poor. Waitress seemed reluctant to make eye contact and ignored us for a bit. A simple 'ill be with you in one minute' would have sufficed. The specials were also not explained or shown to us. Food was overly expensive and sub standard for the price. £16 for a chicken burger can be reasonable. But not when it is small and dry. The drinks were adequate and averagely priced for the area. My partner's beef burger was juicy and tasty but I feel like for the price, cheese should be included. Not an extra pound. 3/5, would not return.

The food here is well cooked, tasty and comes in generous portions. The staff are incredibly friendly, and there is an amazing ambiance inside. A great place for a stop, and the falls are just outside when it comes to location location location.

Ordered food but had to send it back as the burger was raw and there was blood all over lettuce, bun and plate. You may think well, this is the way burgers are cooked but when I explained I couldn't eat it like that, the waitress quickly apologised and took it away, which was good. When I received it back, the burger had been sliced in half and appeared to have been rubbed on a pan and just slapped back on the same plate, bun and lettuce, with the same blood all over it. I now only had half a burger but was still charged full price, my partner reluctantly ate his and it was still raw. Our child's main was chicken goujons, 2 of, 1 which was burnt at the end and the other, the batter wasn't even cooked properly. Really disappointed in the food especially as it was not cheap. Had to go inside as we were seated outside for our own napkins. Wouldn't return. Edit: Would just like to add, my partner has been very ill this morning with food poisoning, cannot keep water down, tried to call the restaurant to make them aware and it's an answering machine. Avoid!

I popped in for a quick lunch and ended up having a three course meal. Haggis Bon Bons, the Venison Casserole and an apple and raspberry crumble. I have to say the portions were hearty but not too much and everything I ate was excellent. The price point was spot on. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. I would encourage the owners to put custard on with the crumble although the cream was delicious. Thanks for a delicious meal in a cosy environment. I would recommend it as I'd go back again myself.

Called up using the number provided on Apple Maps, got through to an extremely rude man who owns the business and 13 other pubs. Definitely not worth funding such a rude man & his business. - look elsewhere for a good pub & business.

tl;dr: Great staff, amazing food, disgusting dirty old rooms with animal fur, dirt, dust, crumbs, and broken fixtures. We first arrived after a harrowing three hour drive along a "scenic" route from Inverness. Part of this drive took place in the dark along tiny and (to me) terrifying country back roads. So when we finally got to the Inn our nerves were shot and we were desperate for some rest. We were greeted warmly in the main part of the inn by the wonderful staff and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the bar area. We ordered some food before settling in and it was great! After dinner we hauled our luggage up to our room and that's when everything fell apart. The inn itself is small and obviously dated- the stairs up to our room were narrow and steep and getting two 50 lbs. suitcases up them was a truly athletic feat for us. You can argue that this is a self inflicted problem and to be expected of an older establishment and I'd agree- but it's worth noting. The room itself looked the same as what was advertised on their website. Emphasis on "looked". Across almost every surface seemed to be a layer of dog or cat fur. This included our bedding- even the pillows! The sheets themselves had several stains with the fabric also being rough and uncomfortable. Besides the coating of dog/cat fur the floor and walls were also downright unclean. There were crumbs and dust on the floor- especially the corners and the walls had cob webs. Many of the fixtures were run down as well. With a leaky and unusable sink tap and a chipped and scuffed up tub. Speaking of the tub: I ran a bath in the hopes that a warm soak would blunt the shock of finding myself in a run down, dirty, old room and when I got in I was again surprised by filth. Tiny white hairs started to float to the surface all around me and I very quickly drained the tub and crouched inside with the included shower head and washed myself off that way instead. Climbing out of the tub I had to lay down a small path of hand towels to protect my wet feet from the aforementioned animal fur on the floor. This animal fur I keep bringing up really was covering everything and besides being disgusting to find in your bedroom it also was an immediate health concern for us. My other half is extremely allergic to cat fur and coming into contact with is causes reactions both to her skin and triggers rhinitis. So making zero assumptions we stripped the bed of most of the bedding and tried to sleep flat on our backs with no blankets on the off chance it was cat fur. At this point you may be asking why we didn't request another room or speak to the staff- staff who at this point had been amazing and wonderfully helpful! Well as I said we arrived very late and by the time we realized the full extent of our situation no one seemed to be around. The portion of the inn we were in was locked to the rest of the building with only exits to the outside. Which is understandable for a small inn.- again the staff were great! By morning we had barely slept and were so overwhelmed and upset by the room we decided to leave early and drive BACK up to Inverness. We loaded up the car and again found no staff available to speak to so decided to make the best of the situation and wander around the village. This was great- wonderful place. We came back to the Inn just in time for the breakfast we forgot was included and were treated to another amazing meal with wonderful help from the staff (who were now there). I cannot emphasize how great we were treated by the employees here. Our main issue is with the management of the inn and the disgusting state of our room. Anyways after breakfast we explained we were leaving early and departed. The best part of my stay at this inn was seeing it fade into the distance as we drove away. The ONLY reason this is not a one star review is because of the wonderful staff working here.

Honestly top quality food. We came in after a hike and were welcomed to a lovely table by the fire. Had a great lunch, soup & sandwich + coffee. Would recommend

Other than delivering 230 million litres of water to surrounding towns and cities, such as Glasgow, the freshwater loch and reservoir provides stunning views from all 360 degrees it can be viewed from. The villain Rob Roy Macgregor was born at the head of this loch, giving a stellar history behind the whole area. During my visit I discovered multiple things about myself; my body hurts, I cannot feel my hands and my body is not immune to midgies.

It's a beautiful place to go and either walk, cycle round to the other side you can hire bikes at the destination by going on the website. You can go on a boat tour too on to the Loch. Me and my friends cycled the whole Loch round to the other side and it was amazing as we stopped and had a picnic before we cycled back. You will also so the top of Ben A'nn. We climbed Ben A'nn and when at the top you can look over Loch Katrine and you will see the boat bridge below.(picture on top of Ben A'nn with Loch Katrine background) There is a lovely cafe aswell for afterwards and a little gift shop. If driving up sat nav will go into Aberfoyle once you come to the Co Op take a right from there and that will take you on the road to the Loch car park. You will also go by the entrance of Go Ape. Parking charge is £5 for the whole day.

Absolutely stunning scenery with cruises on the loch and a nice selection of eateries

Probably the most beautiful loch in Scotland. Beloved by Rob Roy MacGregor, Sir Walter Scott, Queen Victoria and many many more. Great place to visit, stay over, walk round and cruise on.

Beautiful reservoir with plenty to do - more than enough for a day out. The best part is that they are open even on public holidays.

Had a fantastic little day at loch katrine. We took and guided boat tour where we were told everything about the loch in the way round. Very interesting. Beautiful views all around. The little gift shop was nice we bought a wee highland cow for my daughter. We visited the cafe which was very pricey but lovely views food and coffee and plenty room. Highly recommend for a day out.

A beautiful loch with a great loch side walk that goes for miles. Also a boat ride available. The cycle shop was shut but was going to open a week later at Trossachs Pier. The amazing quietness is unbelievable. The small shop houses the ticket counter for the boat, holiday bits and bobs and a small cafe.

Beautiful scenic place for freimds and family or even solo to enjoy. Nice pebbled beaches all along the trail, but be aware that there are two piers- Trossachs pier which offers sir walter scott steamship services and the other one is the Stronlacher pier. The cruise usually starts from trossachs pier to the stronlacher pier and back, total time roughly 2 hours. However, there is a 15 miles trails between the two piers to cycle or walk through. You can even do a short 6.08 miles primrose circuit hillwalk which offers magficient views and is not too strenous. The location caters for all types of activities for all age groups. Hoth piers have a decent restaurant with good wuality food and drinks, including hard drinks. Pet and child friemdly. There is also a bike hire shop to hire bikes and enjoy biking along the cycling trail. The scenic beauty is breathtaking and feels so serene. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous loch. Went on the boat trip, skipper was knowledgable and interesting on a range of different subjects, from wildlife to history and spoke fluent gaelic. Nice accessible private road running for miles around one side of the loch.

Beautiful Loch to canoe around or take a tour with the pleasure cruisers from the visitor's centre. There's a number of sandy spots to drop-off with a canoe or kayak around the shores, with views over the surrounding mountains. We found a small waterfall hidden inside an inlet on the South East shore (56.24539° N, 4.46188° W) as we were paddling back to the put-in near the ferry port. Stop off at the Visitors Centre ticket office to be granted permission to canoe on the Loch, and take note of when you're allowed to set off away from any ferries launching.

Waterfalls Whoooo! There is a car park after a steep incline drive. Paved gravel path to walk. About a mile walk to reach the waterfall. There is inclines and steep bits However do not need to be a professional to do this walk. Wear good shoes (trainers). Spectacular views. Dog friendly. Forest walks as well.

The car park is well positioned but very busy even in January. You may struggle to park at busy times. The well signed walk to the falls is a bit muddy in parts but suitable for most levels of fitness and a baby buggy; possibly a robust mobility scooter and is well worth it as they are spectacular. The longer loop walk is steep at the start but worth the effort with great views as you climb out of the river valley.

Since the removal of the bridge the walk isn't very long but easy to do. Steep decent towards the bridge area but we'll turfed. Two car parks near by.

On a rainy autumn day, very few spaces left. Fortunately we parked without a problem. Must be hell driving up a single track road in the summer to find no parking available.

Nice short walk down to falls where there is space for picnics....however bridge is gone so only way is back to car (unless you can ford the river a little further upstream!!?)

Decent wee carpark albeit a bit small, can be very busy on sunny days. The top carpark is a bit closer but has been chocka block every time I've been so the lower one is usually the best bet with a small walk up the hill. Close to the falls which are beautiful, you can get in the water at several different bits. On low rainfall days, you can get into the little "pool" at the top of the waterfall. They have put a new bridge in to get across the falls now, it's not as nice as the old wooden one but it does the job!

This car park is very small and the road can be quite difficult to pass other cars so I would recommend the first car park as you come in, adds a bit extra to your walk as well. Lovely walk through the forest to this waterfall, there had been really heavy rain when we went so the waterfall was in full flow. Despite wet conditions the path itself is easy to walk on, we didn't do the whole circular route but from the first carpark to the bridge and back its just under 2 miles.

Room for about 17 spaces and a nice easy walk of 1/2 mile to Bracklinn Falls. A bit of an awkward drive up due to lack of parking spaces but a great free car park that takes you to a lovely attraction. Could do with more bins however as did spot some rubbish especially dog bags left on the trail as some people are unwilling to take their rubbish home.

It is the perfect car park for a walk to Bracklinn Falls. The car park itself is just a little small for the number of people that want to use it. Otherwise it is a totally great car park. We took the circular route. Which I recommend after the falls you have a long climb, but it is certainly worth it! The path to the falls is very well maintained, a broad gravel path. Very suitable for wheelchairs. ( Going back from the falls to the carpark might be challenging) After the falls if you follow the rouw the path becomes a small one person track with some big rocks, until to forest road is reached. Half way this route there is another big waterfall that ends in a big pool, called scouts pool. The perfect spot for a picnic or if you are up to it, a swim. Although the water looks very cold, I've seen a number of people swim in it.

Impressive waterfalls with excellent views from bridge. Pretty busy, was best parking at upper carpark but space is limited. Fair amount of litter en route.

Worth a visit when you are visiting Callander. It is a short walk to the falls and it is free. The waterfalls is so inviting but it was a cold day when we went there, so there is a reason to resist. Although there are young ones who were swimming when we were there.

One of the best places to visit, cared for by the National Trust. Jim one of the volunteer staff opened our eyes to the magic of this beautiful house. Fabulous both inside and outside. The walkway was amazing and the gardens beautiful. Will definitely be back again for another visit. A house in a box - Who would believe it ? 🥰

What a fascinating building. The rooms & story told about the family & the relationship with Charles Rennie Mackintosh made it come to life. Beautifully preserved, do not let “the box” put you off. The fact you are able to climb up to the top of the gangway & see the building from above & amazing view was unique. Good car parking & excellent roof terrace cafe.

If you’re an architecture/ history lover, you have to visit the hill house, a masterpiece designed by Mackintosh. The house itself is absolutely amazing, from the delicate wood work to the high back chairs, from the lamp shade to the stained glass, it’s full of details and uniqueness! The staff there are super friendly and helpful, the food & drink in the cafe is very nice as well. It will be interesting to see the next step on this house, and hopefully see it without the steel frame in the next ten years.

A wonderful insight into the upper class of Victorian Scotland, the design movement at the time as well as modern conservation work. The Rennie Mack design is utterly timeless, the furnishings are exquisite and the gardens beautiful, especially if you get good weather when you visit. The house truly is a jewel, and I would dearly love to see it preserved for future generations. Make sure to stop by the cafe for a Rennie Mack inspired empire biscuit- I'd have added a photo but I scoffed it!

Such a lovely visit to this Mackintosh gem. The house is very well curated and I particularly like how the team approaches the issues of preservation and artistic originality, letting visitors offer their views, too. The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions.

A very interesting visit around the house, with good information boards and a unique experience. Whilst the protective mesh is round you get a fantastic view above the house from the walkway. Staff were the best! So friendly and helpful, every one. Just be aware that it can be very chilly in the house so make sure you have some warmer clothes. Cafe also excellent.

Went for a ghost hunt, and what a place to visit. Luckily, it was still daylight when we arrived. Wow, just wow, I rapidly lost interest in the ghost hunt as I was completely in awe of this stunning mansion house. It's a must visit if like me you love architecture and stunning interior design, even more so if it's Rennie Macintosh. Go see the Hill House you won't regret it.

Great experience for the whole family. The design of the house was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful, they answered all our question about the house history, the family who lived there. There was a little treasure hunt for the children.

An amazing place to visit. Great to walk around inside and see the fab decor. Really interesting to see the conservation work - the Box is genius and allows visitors to get a different perspective of the house. Well worth a visit.

All the staff members were so helpful! (If you have a youngscot card, it's only a £1!). It's such a beautiful house with so much history in it, and views from it are equally beautiful. We went during the week so there wasn't any wait and very little people.

Absolutely stunning. Such a unique experience, walking over a house on the walkways, but the interior is what makes this place so special. Simple, elegant, restful. The cafe is also very nice and all the staff were so welcoming. Thank you for turning a rainy day into a highlight of the holiday.

If you love all things Charles Rennie Mackintosh, or you're just an art or design lover, this is a fascinating experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and spent 3 – 4 hours at the house. During this time, we were able to carefully absorb the art and design within each room, sample tea and scones at the cafe, explore the rooftop walkways and visit the shop, which sold a good range of Mackintosh items. After our visit to Hill House, we completed our 'CRM themed' day out by driving into Glasgow and then visiting the ‘Mackintosh at the Willow’ Tea Rooms.

Very interesting visit - amazing to see the house encapsulated and protected in the much needed 'box'. Fascinating interiors, interesting walk around the outside within the walkways of the box.

I last visited the Hill House about 30 years ago. I found it even more interesting because of the protective canopy and conservation work going on. It reminded me of Rosslyn Chapel when it had its canopy - you are able to climb up and see the whole building from outside. Plus a fantastic view over the Clyde. As well as the house, we visited the cafe (great fruit scone) and shop. A bit late in the season and a wet day, so not the gardens unfortunately.

We really enjoyed our time in the Hill House. The staff were friendly and really helpful at all times. The house is currently undergoing restoration in a sympathetic manner but you can see everything even a birds eye view as you can currently walk right over the top on a gantry within it's protective shield!

I went along with my son family and we enjoyed a lot during the cruise period of 2 hours ride. Beautiful scenic views and enjoyed guide narrating the places of importance. The cruise have a cafe on board and good seating was arranged for tourist to have a spectacular view. A memorable trip we had. Tickets are booked in advance so that we can't miss the trip 👍

We did the 'experience cruise' which was a 1 hour circular tour of the loch. The boarding process was easy and efficient (joined a queue, showed tickets on phone) Managed to get a nice outside seat near the front of the boat. It was quite busy on board but there was seats for everyone and once the boat was moving people are able to move around. However, if sitting outside at the front we were told we were not able to stand around, and they seemed to tell people off just for going to the front to take photos. Which is the whole point of the trip! (They didn't seem to mind people walking round taking photos as long as you weren't doing it at the front) The narrated recording was informative and gave information on what could be seen at different points. There is a bar on the boat where you can buy drinks as well as toilets. Although we enjoyed the cruise, because it was just a there and back within the loch there wasn't much different scenery. Not the boats fault, but we've been on other boat trips which have been more scenic. Still was an enjoyable trip though.

Friendly welcome at both the booking office & on boarding the boat. Plenty of seating & outside seating upstairs. The thing was there wasn't much to see. There was a commentary which was loud & clear but it was very intermittent as there was nothing really to talk about. The views were spectacular but you can go anywhere around Loch Lomond & see the views for free. It was worth the relatively cheap price but if you go don't expect too much.

The 2 hour, Island Discovery Tour was amazing. We had tickets for the Wednesday and needed to change them at the last minute for the next day. They were very happy to help and it was no bother at all. The trip itself was beautiful and there was a snack bar on board too with flapjacks, coffee, tea, and spirits. We had glorious weather but even without it would have been worth it. There is ample comfy seating and some spaces outside for sitting or standing in front and back of boat. All the staff were nice, and we saw all the cleaning and safety measures they took in between excursions as we had arrived a bit early and saw the earlier tour arrive back. I hope to return to Loch Lomond and Balloch someday and if we do, we will go on another Sweeney’s tour!

Great little tour of Loch Lomond. Useful information about the surrounding buildings and Islands. Boat was clean and the crew are friendly. They serve drinks and snacks shortly after departing. Would recommend this.

Cruise was good. Ferry was quite slow. There's a Cafe downstairs. Got a bit cold for the kids upstairs so had to move them down. Excellent views. The captain (I suppose he was the one) explained a few places over the microphone...so some knowledge to gain as we went by. In all took about and hour. There's parking at the venue but not a lot of spaces. We managed to get the last space as we came. Got there 15 minutes before departure. So the question...... Would I come back. No if it's just me, but yes if I've got friends or family new in town and interested. I don't think there anything new to see to warrant me going again.

Took part in a fantastic 2 hour cruise along Lochlomond, the tour included an ongoing audio history of the Loch, its local culture and the inhabitants of the islands upon it. The views are stunning and much more than what can be seen from the road. Warm drinks, alcohol and snacks are available as are restroom facilities. Prices are extremely affordable and the staff of the boat were helpful and friendly. If your in the trossachs national park area this is a fantastic addition to your visit.

Highly recommend this fabulous voyage on the Loch. The scenery is amazing. The boat itself was clean, comfortable. A very smooth ride for 2 hours. The staff was efficient and pleasant. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were available. Tickets were available at the site but I ordered my tickets online, which was easy. I received helpful email reminders.

Found Sweeney's from just doing a google search of the area, since my partner and I were just visiting for the day from Edinburgh. Very easy to get to and it was easy to book online. Definitely one of the highlights of our Scotland trip. We booked the 2 hour cruise which was definitely worth it. Although the weather was cold, it wasn't rainy on the day we went (April 1, 2023), so that worked out well. Got to get a lot of gorgeous views of the Loch with only a few other passengers on board so it felt like our own little private cruise! I'm sure it gets much more crowded during the summer months, but it would still be a great day trip from Edinburgh or an afternoon from Glasgow. Nice little bar on board as well which was welcome for getting a hot drink on our cold day. Overall, just a great way to explore some of the gorgeous Scottish countryside.

During road trip from UK to Scotland - we stopped here and took a ride. The ride was almost on time - we didn’t have to wait for the boarding. The boat was spacious and everyone could move around easily - it was not overcrowded- all passengers could get the freedom to move, click photos and enjoy the ride. The route taken boat was also good and having scenic beauty of nature. The boat was equipped with separate toilets for ladies and gents… the boat had the front deck - the back deck, the covered seating area and separate cafe cum bar. The bar and cafe was also fairly priced. I tried latte during the ride and that coffee was amazing. The crew was also humble and supportive. Must take this 60 minutes ride if you are in Scotland.

Nice 2 hour guided cruise with a bar and friendly staff. Free parking next to the pier. It’s best to book directly through them. I’d highly recommend for a fun and educational experience. They had indoor seating and places to stand outdoors if you prefer that.

All was perfect. The ship was modern and cozy, the audio guide was informative and engaging, the staffs were kind, and the coffee was also good. I suggest to visit the cruise early and took the first tour of the day, as it will not be too crowded.

Friendly staff and background commentary(recorded) was informative during the cruise ride. It got chilly upstairs after few minutes but they also have enclosed spaces with view. There’s cafe onboard which serves coffee, drinks and snacks with reasonable prices. Incredible one hour cruise .

Went on this boat trip for the first time with my 4-year-old and my cousin and her family. Despite the weather being wet, the boat trip was lovely! The boys loved it, and the historic voiceover was very intetesting. Sadly, due to the weather, we couldn't see Ben Lommond, but that just means we will be coming back in the summer hopefully☺️

We visited Loch Lomond and booked the 2 hours Cruise tour. It was our first time an were surprised about all the beauty and sightseeing from the boat. Even if you've been here, it's a lovely visit around on board. Don't hesitate 😊 There's also a cafe to fetch beverages and toilets on board. Friendly staff. Thanks again

Cruising around the lake was was nice. The boat wasn't busy and we had plenty of space to take some nice pictures. Watching all those castles by the lake with all the descriptions coming from the speaker was quite a historical experience

Husband & daughter did SUP, they had a great time, really enjoyed it. Staff on beach friendly too I took the dog around the village, it's very pretty. We were really shocked at how much rubbish was left by people near beach & carpark, it was disgusting, poor villagers must be infuriated. No reason for it, bins are available 😡

We visited this place at the end of March 2023. I get the chance of enjoying the unique nature of Loch Lomond and Highlands. While being a spectacular location, with the view of the loch, mountains and islands, there were very little greenery around - making it not that perfect I was expecting it to be.

We had the best time as a family of 4. We brought our two girls to experience the Katakanu and they loved it (aged 9 & 12). The staff were so helpful, warm and welcoming and we will definitely be back. One of the highlights for our holiday in Scotland this year. Thank you.

We had the best time on the 2 hour guided kayak tour with JJ and Rowan today! We are on our honeymoon and this is definitely a highlight of our trip! They were so professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, and we will definitely do the tour again when we come back to Scotland!

Great little place, was about £50 for 2 hours in a twin kayak with 2 wetsuits, had spaces available on the day but worth booking in advance to make sure you’re not disappointed! 2 hours was plenty for complete beginners and a little intense, manage to get around a few of the small islands but not much further. Changing facilities included, good service - would recommend !

We went for a drive around Scotland and kayaking in Luss was the highlight for me! Thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend! Kayaking was £30 for 2 hours which also came with the hire of a life jacket. I had my car keys and they were able to give me a life jacket with pockets. They also come as twin kayaks and you can alter your time depending on your budget and time constraints.

Great experience being out on the loch! Lots of different options as far as boats available. There are kayaks, paddle boards, peddle boats etc we took out a peddle boat for an hour which cost £25 for both of us. The scenery of stunning, staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

We loved our bespoke experience. Staff were fantastic from meeting Stuart on the pier who was warm and welcoming. To Rory our skipper who couldn’t have been more accommodating. He listened to what we wanted from the experience and made many helpful suggestions to ensure we got the best out our trip. We went for the 1.5 hour bespoke island hopping trip and what a trip it was.

Went here for a boat trip and had a great time. Went around the village also which is a really picturesque area. Will be visiting again😊

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip even though the flying shows were cancelled due to avian flu and the birds were under quarantine during our time of visit. Out of good will, we got a discount for our tickets. Stuart , the center manager gave us loads of valuable information about the birds. We watched a very interesting video on those amazing falcons too. Birds are very well looked. We enjoyed the visit very much.

The Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre is a very worthwhile place to visit. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you understand more about these magnificent birds in this fully licensed zoo. The two displays that I saw were funny, informative and fascinating. I will visit again when I am next in the area.

Lovely enjoyable visit. Shame I had to cut the American birds of prey flying display short to return to my coach. Loved the amount of information supplied in all areas and also the educational centre. The flying display was brilliant and a short safety chat was given at the start, for the safety of all concerned including the birds and the keepers.

Out of the many birds of prey centres I have visited, this rates as one of the highest. A large collection of beautiful species, with easy access to photograph. The 2 shows daily are very well presented, and the trainers are very informative (great fun too). I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

While the birds themselves are magnificent and the keepers showing them are great, I left with sadness at the sight of so many proud hunters confined to small cages or perches on the ground. There were a number of birds that had been rescued (well done you guys) but I can't say I felt much gladness in my heart. One keeper commented about muscle wastage during lockdown, which kind of makes my point. I must wondered throughout if there doesn't need to be done modernisation of the environment in line with others zoos and safari parks that have made more naturalistic environments.

When planning a visit to Balloch, I didn't even know this place exists. It ended up being the town highlight. Very informative, but the best part is the flying show. Do make sure you arrive at 11:30 or 14.

Staff clearly care very much about the birds there, and we saw a little glimpse of them practicing for the shows. They are obviously very knowledgeable and have taken on birds from varying rescue situations to help them which was nice to read about on the signs. However ( and I know this will probably get a defensive response from owner based on other reviews) seeing the tethered birds repeatedly biting at the ties around their ankles and trying to fly away was a little sad to see and I'm sorry but it put a dampener on our trip to Scotland. I am sure the centre does great conservation work and helps educate people but this was just our experience and we sadly wouldn't return.

I love this place! There is so much to learn here about these birds. Just being in their presence is worth the visit. The falconry handlers are highly knowledgeable and passionate teachers about the birds, their unique natures and how we can help protect them.

Amazing experience.. views breathtaking and some of the climbs to tree tops are high.. from the top you have some amazing views.. definitely recommend for people to try them out! Staff are friendly and accommodating.. we had a decent group size of 9 so took a while for us to complete.. they stayed back late until we finished without rushing us! Zip line to the finish view was amazing.

Really good fun. It takes a second to get the hang of the clips and pulley safety system but once you've done it a few times it's easy. Great views as well and the staff are really friendly.

We did the zip line experiencing and 100% recommend! Looking forward to doing the tree top experience next!

Queen Elizabeth Park is a great day out and I would highly recommend. We did the zip line adventure which was fun, however did not realise once at the opposite side we would be climbing up quite some height on the trees to zip back. This was not mentioned prior to the zip and we expected to climb only a small ladder. Would not recommend if you are afraid of heights! Staff were all professional and friendly.

What an experience doing the tree top challenge. Highly recommend if you have good to moderate fitness. Took us two 2.5h from start to finish, great fun.

Had a fantastic time, and Alan our instructor was brilliant. I was a bit worried about the zip line but loved it. My youngest boy, 12 had a fantastic time and my teen, 15 excelled at the climbing. Everyone at the centre was so helpful, I struggled with the wobbly ladders and the the other instructors said don't worry about it, so I missed a few tree top adventures. Very helpful when my husband knocked off his glasses!! They were found and all in one piece!

Really great day out with the kids. Staff were great and the setup in Aberfoyle is excellent. You need to be ok with heights but if so then get up there, you won't regret it.

Second time here and it was as good as ever. If you struggle with heights and upper body strength then it may not be for you. Staff are great at explaining 👌 our 13 year old niece and nephew absolutely loved it.

I got a treetop challenge for my birthday gift was so much fun I really enjoyed it . I wish I knew tho that it’s a bit cold on the zip line and you need clothes that you don’t care if you going to be dirty because there is everywhere mud around. Can’t wait to go back for another adventure

Amazing fun! Felt very safe & instructions were good, little training course at the start helps you “learn the ropes” - excuse the pun! Some high zip wires and jumps, not for those with a fear of height. We got very muddy and definitely tired after the 2 hour course

Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The course was fantastic, plenty of challenging bits, but nothing I or our 11 year old couldn’t do. There’s multiple tours for stuff you can do, and each individual crossing between platforms is marked to tell you how challenging it is, from low to extreme. He, and I, particularly loved the massive zip lines at the beginning and end, along with the Tarzan Swings. Take some spare clothes - you may need them.

The tree top walk was too high for me, and I really didn’t feel safe as there was no alternative way down. On the last zip wire I got stuck half way, seemingly I wasn’t heavy enough for the zip to go the distance, yet I’m a grown adult!!! An instructor had to get me… it was terrifying and I was clearly shaken, yet, no member of staff checked in with me that I was ok.

The treetop challenge was a fun way to overcome my fear of heights with the moral support from friends and professional staff. There is a variety of physical challenges which make the 2.5-3hr experience exciting throughout and well worth the money. The only downside was that there is not enough monitoring along the climbing sites and some people can be quite inconsiderate by stacking in large groups on platforms and pushing you. You will likely get dragged along the ground when landing from the zip lines which is not painful but can definitely ruin your clothing, so dress accordingly.

Quirky castle which was nice to explore. But for the cost of £6 an adult there wasn't much to see and some sections where blocked off due to work being done which is understandable but would of been nice if that had been reflected in the price. Majority of the visit is outdoors with lots of steps to the top but lovely views all round. There's also a trig point to bag near the top!

It got great scenery, the shore around the rock has many to offer. The green field is really green. Sadly, the castle is said opened for public on Google map, actually under construction. We got appetizer, dessert but not main course here.

Generally speaking it’s a good place to relax and climb the mountain. Even though the name has the word ‘castle’, it’s actually not a regular one. It’s a military fortress in medieval age and also a navy base of Scotland hundreds of years ago. There only have a stair between two hills, and the stair is very narrow. It’s good to climb on the top and get a birds-eye view of the river and the town. I recommend this place to relax and walk on weekends.

Unfortunately closed for them to shore up the rocks. Very necessary, but we were unable to climb up or see much of the castle. You can get a few pictures of one of the upper walls from the park right on the banks of the River Clyde. Still impressive looking up from the ground.

Breathtaking views from both peaks and from other areas around the grounds. With the region of 500 stairs it is a great workout.

Absolutely amazing historical stop. Well signed, great staff, and beautiful views from the top. Be prepared for a lot of stairs but everyone is absolutely worth it.

We visited on a Sunday, as part of the Historic Sundays. So we booked some weeks before and was free entry. The parking is free, but tends to get busy so might take a while to find a parking spot. The castle is located over river Clyde, beautiful location. Overlooks the entire town. You have to explore each level by climbing up the stairs and enjoy the view at each level. Its all labeled in the maps inside the castle. We took approximately 1.5 hrs to climb up to the top level including stops for pictures and just spending some time at each spot. The climb isn't that difficult but won't say its quite easy too. Lots of history around tha castle, very well described and labeled by the castle administration. They have a gift shop, benches in castle gardens.

Great well maintained castle. Need to pre-book as small parties are shown around. Parking is situated at the base of the Castle just outside the entrance. Be prepared for lots of stairs but you will see some great views over the Clyde.

Great place to visit. Beautiful views from the top of the rock. Nice and friendly staff. We were lucky on our visit as it was their first day open after a year of refurbishment.

Definitely underrated! The castle was gorgeous and going to the top was definitely worth it! The steps are a bit steep but still easy. One of the staffs was very helpful and informative. Kudos to him!

A interesting castle with some rich history. More to see then you think. Not suitable for disabled or infirm duecto the many (500+) steps. The views are stunning and the many varied areas. A small shop at the entrace that sells snacks and cans of pop or bottled water. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Parking can be tight on busy days. So glad we took time to visit.

Lovely! And amazing views! The 500 steps on the site are so worth it! The staff were very helpful and informative, the coffee cheap, nice and portable, the toilets clean and accessible, what’s not to like? Bring some warm clothes, and spare a thought for the guards that used to be on duty there 24/7, all year round! It was however a bit hard to find the entrance, as there wasn’t much signage out on nearby streets, and no designated carpark and no disabled parking at all, not all disabled people have mobility issues! We found somewhere to park nearby on the road after driving around for a bit, it was on a Sunday though.

At the moment it's still partially shut. One of the staff members mentioned that it's supposed to be completed about the middle of next month. Bit gutted it was still closed as it meant I couldn't bag the trig point at the summit of one of the rocks! However, safety first I guess! As its partially shut you can enter for free which is decent of them. There's one path currently open to the Bower Battery. Great view from there over the water. Lots of cannons to see too. The pathway is stone, uneven in places, and has lots of steps so won't be accessible for all. Staff were really friendly. The castle also looks great from below. There's a green area below the castle which is great for a short walk or to walk a dog as many people seemed to be doing. Knocked a star off due to not being able to see the whole place. However, that's not really their fault as if repairs need to be made, then that should come first. As I'm travelling round part of Scotland I won't be able to return anytime soon, however if I was to come back this way in the future I would definitely pay a return visit to see the full castle (and the trig!)

Lovely place for a visit although it was restricted at the time of our visit due to high winds which meant we could not go up to the main part. The gentleman in the shop was very informative and gave us a good run down on the place through its history. We will be back to see it in full. This is not a place for people with mobility concerns and definitely not wheelchair friendly due to the steps.

Beautiful day to step into the foot of history! Be prepped to climb the steps, it's the only way to get all the way up and around the castle and down. Nice and welcoming staff. Toilets onsite. No cafe onsite so bring your own bottle of water and even coffee perhaps to keep you hydrated all the way through your physical activity while exploring a piece of history!

Outstanding view from the top. Currently Inside of the castle there’s nothing like really in castle stuff but the French prison and more than thousand years ago memories will heal your heart. A history of how this castle was built and was it really a castle first or something else! Some unbelievable truth. View is really mind blowing. Just be careful a bit slippery though. Parking area available also you’ve to buy tickets for the tour.

We visited the castle on our holiday. We managed to park in the very small car park which is free. The car park is shared by the castle, a bowling club, the castle park and a grassy picnic area in front of the castle. The area is popular with dog walkers using the trails. I assume it will also get busy when the football team are at home as it is next door. We only visited the lower castle as we didn’t know about the 500 steps to the upper section. (We’ll tackle that another day). There are toilets on site, and there’s a small gift shop. The views from the lower fortifications are brilliant on a clear day.

It's definitely recommended to see inside. There's no actual castle, it's more like a fort, but it definitely worth the £7.5 to see it. More recommended when it's not too windy. Prepare for so many stairs

The castle itself was closed due to maintenance unfortunately but the outside was quite pretty. It didn't look much like a castle more like a big house. The loch was very pretty and so was the scenery around it. The walled garden wasn't very impressive but the woods around it was. There is a very big lawn for dog walking or pic nics. There is also a small playground near the loch with a few benches. You can go swimming, canoeing, boating or go on a jet ski in the loch. It was pretty just unfortunate the castle was closed.

The view from the top of the hill and the lake is fabulous, this place is good for walking besides the shoreline. You can also find a lot of different plants in this weather they are full of flowers

Magical place to go with the family with plenty to do, you can go for a walk through the park, it has a walled garden and a castle, both have been fantastically maintained,or you go for a swim in the loch to cool off. There’s also a play park for younger children. The views are absolutely stunning. You can drive around the loch as well,with plenty of secluded spots to stop and take in the views or go for a dip. Only downside is that no matter when you go it is always busy

Been here twice before. Walking along the shores of Loch Lomond is just a nice thing to do. Start in Balloch and follow the path along the shore. Through some woodlands. Shortly you'll arrive at this Country Park with it's smaller, but beautiful castle. The grounds and park are pretty big and great to let your dog off the leash...as many do. There's enough space. Take a break, have a look at the castle or have a picnic. You can take another path back to Balloch from here. It's a nice little roundtrip. Very easy, flat...but unpaved. So it is more difficult with a wheelchair or a stroller. Especially when it's wet and muddy. We came here on a day with heavy rain. Only a handful of people around. But even though very wet, it was a nice little walk. If you're well prepared for any weather, then there's no stopping. Always nice to be back here.

Beautiful, well maintained gardens, park walks, and places where children can play. The toilets in the castle were clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the castle is not open to the public. Beautiful place to walk around the grounds or near the loch side

Wat a lovely place. Really unforgettable. Castle and the lake give an outstanding beauty to the entire area. Cool and quite atmosphere is a further addition to this attractive area.

The grounds are lovely, but the castle is in need of renovation and so not accessible. It would need quite a bit of money spending on it, which is a shame as I guess it would have been a spectacular place to walk around in the past. The public toilets are the only accessible area in the property, which were clean and in good condition.

Beautiful country park on the lower shores of loch Lomond with some beautiful breath taking scenery, the ideal place for a walk either at the loch side or higher up . Views are stunning wherever you are , the castle was closed on my visit but you can still admire it's beauty.

This is a beautiful park with a walled garden, fairy houses, Balloch Castle, a Chinese garden, a carved dragon, a play park, lots of beautiful plants, trees & wildlife. Great for children of any age, dogs of any kind. It is well maintained. There is a pathway so easy to walk but does have some hills, walk, cycle, skate but enjoy. If you google Partick muir you can see where the carvings are. There are lots.. All that's required is imagination. Fun for all the family, take a picnic or visit the local restaurants. It's located near the station and across from the bus terminal, easily accessible. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a walk, to recharge, relax and enjoy, but please take away any rubbish from the park and respect the local wildlife as it is home to rare birds like the osprey, hawks and deer, including white deer, and white snowy owls,especially during mating season (spring). It caters for all.

Nice castle but unfortunately it's not open to visit for public. The view around the castle tho, is really amazing and it's a great place for a walk. There are so many different and unique trees which make quite an experience

Locals told me some lore. The castle while ruling was very harsh and mean. The people in the village were often starving and worked to death while the castle folk thrived . They built the walled garden in order to feed everyone in the castle while also keeping all the villagers out . Oasis played here once !! Everyone kept telling me that and I feel like I should know the band but don’t . Anywhoo, it’s a really nice place. The building is being up kept well. And there’s even a neat walled garden next door if you have a chance to see . It’s all pretty and nice now

Great place to spend a few hours. Loads to see, lovely loch views, plenty of picnic areas and walks, the walled garden is beautiful. Easy to walk into Balloch to go on the boat tour of the Loch, or eat at one of the restaurants. The Castle is closed but impressive from the outside.

Very picturesque location beside Loch Lomond. Lovely autumn colours to be seen. Well maintained paths and loads of space to explore. It's a shame the castle itself is fenced off. The walled garden is worth a look although it probably looks better in spring and summer.

One of our favourite places to go to. Just half an hour from Glasgow area and such a fabulous country park. Shame the castle is still closed off and unrenovated as this would increase the appeal but the views over Loch Lomond and the hills behind are outstanding! Plenty of parking, public free toilets and loads of walking paths. Dogs will love it! 10min walk down to the Loch shore but it's on hill so may not suit everyone. Although the path is gentle enough. Several picnic benches and areas, I just wish people would not set the tables on fire by placing hot barbecues! There is a decent coop store more or less at the entrance to the grounds. There is a way round to get to the car park by the castle or you can park near the main gate too.

A nice reason to go for a short excursion out of Glasgow. After a 1-hour long train ride from Glasgow, you get off at Balloch station and the lake and castle are a short walk away. Perfect for an easy hike, the path by the lake goes on as much as you can handle it.

impromptu stop to break the journey and even in the drizzle we had a nice time walking through the park and found our way to the loch shore and a children's playground. It really made the ideal place to stretch legs for both young, adult and the four legged. Would definitely stop again, especially in summer.

The castle was closed due to maintenance when we went although it looked more like a luxurious house, however, the gardens and loch were just stunning and an absolute pleasure to walk around. I don't particularly recommend the toilets there as they were not very clean when we went however the main attraction truly was the loch and the gardens around the castle.

Short wee walk but think again about “beginner’s level.” Some very steep inclines and narrow path at the top. And yes it’s so so windy!!! Iconic views tho

Great views over Loch Lomond for a short walk up. The car park is extremely busy, best go early on the weekends.

Perfect starter hill for beginners to hillwalking with the most amazing views of Loch Lomond, kids loved it. Some parts can be difficult specially the last summit, but my 8yr old found it fun. Plenty of water is a must. On a busy day carpark is full, make sure to buy a ticket if you park in the paid carpark.

The views are stunning and climb up isn’t too bad but I would be very careful trying to Reach the top as it does get very slippery .

This place is for a perfect trail experience. Plan by summer since the path construction work is going on and on the top it is so windy the temperature is very cold which makes it little less enjoyable.

Even though it was sprinkling out, the hike through the forest and up the hill was worth it! Spectacular view and even saw a rainbow. Wear sturdy shoes.

Excellent short hike with stunning views over Loch Lomond. Be mindful that on sunny days the car park and the overflow fill up quick and you're likely to get a ticket for illegal parking.

We took the hike starting at the Balmaha pay & display car park (Ringo app location code 23707) and headed up the footpath to the top. After the gentle climb through the woodlands, the climb steepens through rocky steps until about halfway point. There are great views from here and, weather depending, the spot is great for photos and picnic. We continued up to the top from here which is a fairly steep scramble up a well trodden footpath (muddy in places) but absolutely worthwhile. Go to the top if you can for stunning views across the Trossachs and to Ben Lomond. We were a family with a 10 and 14 year old. My youngest loved it.

A beautiful hill with wonderful views over Loch Lomond and its islands. Only halfway is enough to get the benefit of the scenery for those very tired days. The path is half man made and half worn into the mountainside, but it is still easy enough to climb. Right at the top, you want to overshoot the summit a little and approach from beyond to stay on a safer path. Have a walk around and find the safest option. It is steep and at the top of a very high drop. The steps (pieces of rock) on the bottom part of the path are deceptively high and take some careful navigation on the way down.

This is a steep and long climb. It can get quite windy up there. Most of the way is a footpath covered with large stones to walk on. The last bit to the top is not paved and quite steep. The ground at the top feels a bit like concrete but is probably ancient sandstone. The vista from the top is great. You can see Loch Lomond and many of its islands.

Amazing views, moderate level. Bring many layers cause the temperature changes along the way, it gets windy. Some water, sunglasses and hiking shoes cause is muddy and slippery and you should be fine 🏔️

A very good hike. It will take around 2-3 hours to complete the hike along with enjoying the view. Can get a lot windy at the top though.

This was so easy to get to using public transport. I don't drive so I got the train to balloch Station and walked less than ten mins to the bus terminal and got the 309 bus that drops you of straight at the car park. The climb itself is short though steep and my first larger climb but I loved it. The views are outstanding and if at any points you come to harder parts just take your time you can do it and there's easier paths to get to the top if you are. Great wee walk and the views are totally worth it. Outstanding views highly recommended.

We had a great experience on the seaplane. The views were incredible over the isles of Scotland. Make sure you are flexible with dates because we were cancelled twice. This just built up excitement for the eventual trip and it did not disappoint!

As good as it gets. Phone/office staff are super friendly and helpful. Initial voucher was cancelled due to covid and they allowed a year's extension. At the plane the pilot and the dock helper were very friendly, chatty and approachable. The plane was absolutely spotless and has heating and cold air vents. The legroom is more than anyone could need and everyone gets a larger window. The flight is around 30 minutes which doesn't sound like a lot for the money but seeing Scotland from the air is magical.

Fabulous experience. Loved every minute of it. Pilot and staff were great and such a thrill to see the west coast in all its splendour from the aircraft. Highly recommend doing this!!

Absolutely amazing experience. We took a flight to the isle of Jura, spent two hours there and then flight back. The guys on the plane were very nice and welcoming. We were very lucky with the weather. I recommend this experience to everyone.

Fortunately, the weather was kind to me on my visit. Great flight, take off from Loch Lomond, then over Helensburgh, Dunoon, Greenock, firth of Clyde, Bute, turning over Tarbert on Loch Fyne then returning to Loch Lomond. Great views of the lochs, islands and hills around the Firth of Clyde.

Wow, what an experience. We hit the jackpot with the weather which made it even more amazing. The scenery is stunning, the plane comfortable and pilot friendly and informative. I'd highly recommend the trip to Jura 😊

Excellent experience. Our booking was transfered a few time due to inclement weather but the staff we spoke to were very courteous. The actual flight was excellent today. Staff friendly and professional. The plane was well maintained and clean. The pilot put us all at easy and the flight went very smoothly.

My wife and I had a fight with the Loch Lomond seaplane fantastic from beginning to end a very professional team that take great care of you with loads of information from your pilot so thanks very much for this great experience.

Break down in communication between initial booking and therapists unfortunately caused our party of 3 to not receive treatments together as planned. However the situation was dealt with swiftly and professionally with 1 member of our group getting a full refund. So day ended on a high note. My manicure was a carried by Laurie - highly recommended- great job - good chat - thank you very much.

Absolutely loved our spa treatment - such an incredible experience in beautiful surroundings. Treatment was provided by a very knowledgeable professional with lots of helpful hints and tips for when i got home. Facilities were amazing - not to be missed if you get the chance. Highly recommend

Called in for breakfast en route to another destination. What a beautiful setting. The club house was very comfortable and the staff welcoming. The breakfast was tremendous and a truly Scottish feast. The perfect start to our trip to Scotland.

Spa remains very good but showing its age. Some investment needed around the thermal area which looks tired. Same applies to the changing rooms, especially the showers. Swimming pool is excellent but there are leaks in the roof dripping down. Staff are very helpful. Enjoyable, but needs care

First time visiting this month as it was a birthday gift. Thought the facilities were quite nice even though the steam rooms were pretty cold. Most disappointing bit was the massage, which was pretty rubbish for both me and my mum. Followed by lunch, we were expecting an afternoon tea type considering it was a spa day package but was offered a pretty limited fixed 2 course menu where you had to pay on top for a drink of any kind, even a coffee or soft drink. This is by far the most expensive spa day i have ever been on and we left feeling disappointed. We didn't complain on the day as i genuinely wouldn't even want to go back there.

Great facilities, infinity pool, hydro pool; saundas; steamy. Beautiful place. There was a funny old man in there also which made me smile... I opened the door to enter the steam room and he asked me to close it before I had entered lol I know time is particularly precious to old people as they don't have much of it, however I felt it was rather rude. To the old man if he reads - "next time I will try and phase through the steamroom door, to not cause you any stress". My future wife enjoyed herself and she said I did well with not noticing other woman in bikinis, so all in all it was a rewarding experience. In addition to this, and due to my recent shocking behaviour I am well and truly out of the dog house. Will return, kindest regards.

We went to Cameron Spa, which we enjoyed, but would suggest there is room for improvement based on the price of the thermal experience. The spa was far too warm, which made it impossible to sit and relax at length without feeling dehydrated, and there were some areas of the ceiling and walls which were damaged in the pool level and in need of repair.

I just don't understand why people find 5 stars appropriate here. What am I missing? I was looking forward to spending some time here with a friend for my first ever visit and found it far removed from a 5 star experience. Granted its a lovely building in a beautiful setting. Parking easy and looked encouraging on entering the club house. The food for lunch was mediocre, coffee absolutely undrinkable and service very slow. Very pleasant helpful waitress doing her best but obviously short staffed. Spa reception looked welcoming and staff pleasant. Advised on location of changing room upstairs but the many doors all looked the same and a bit confusing. 3 staff at reception so someone to accompany us would have been helpful. Outdoor pool looked lovely but very busy. Hydrotherapy pool is filthy! There is a layer of brown greasy scum on the area around the water line and what looks like brown rusty areas on the steps down into the water. Only 1 bath towel provided. Ladies changing room is far too warm and stuffy making it quite uncomfortable for getting dressed. A green plant in there clearly died off some time ago. I then noticed that the ventilation intake duct is blocked off and the extraction grille is thick with dust. This place has so much potential but the management is currently poor and much work on cleanliness in particular is required for a 5 star review in my opinion.

We had the most amazing time using the pool, hydropool, saunas, rooftop jacuzzi. Definitely recommend for a relaxing few hours. Facilities are exceptional.

I visited Cameron house spa and was very shocked and disappointed to see that the pool chemicals were so worryingly strong that they completely dyed my previously blue Abercrombie swimming costume white. I have attached pictures below and you can clearly see the top of the bikini where it has not touched the water is still blue whereas the rest has completely lost its colour. Abercrombie refunded me and sent me another swimming costume as this was an expensive swimming costume. I had also worn it in multiple pools before and have never experienced any dye effect from a pool. My Tiffany’s necklace was also damaged from the pool which I was shocked by as this is very expensive also and sterling silver. Again, you can clearly see it is still silver at the very top and dark at the bottom where is has been in the water. The spa manager assured me that the pool chemicals were at their usual levels which is very worrying. I am very disappointed by this experience and customer service as this is an otherwise lovely spa.

V v relaxing mindfulness massage. 90 minutes of peace. Lovely setting. Decent showers. Locker key didn’t work. Provided flip flops for use in spa but might take my own indoor Birkenstocks Ano time . Towel & robe provided in locker. Shampoo conditioner & Shower gel in showers. Hairdryers. Two curtained changing rooms if you like more privacy. Chill room with water & bed to lie on whilst you gradually come to your senses after your treatment. Sauna in women’s changing room has a lovely view but clear windows so think u need to keep a towel or swimsuit on. Entry to changing rooms has a manual keypad. Receptionist gave me number as first instruction but I forgot by end of information/ instruction list. Bad memory! Would go back. I would’ve given a tip but no money on me when I said goodbye to therapist & no one in reception as I left.

We had a good time here and at £55/pp I feel it is just about value for money but the spa experience is in desperate need for refurbishment. It must be difficult to maintain given the humidity levels but black mould and rotten window frames in the hydro pool room didn't leave a good impression. Damp smell masked by reed diffusers, steam rooms not working, jets on one side of the rooftop pool not working. I'd like to return but only if standards have improved.
