We have had the chance to visit the Cathedral which was splendid for a donation of £5 each, which seems reasonable when you think of the splendour of the monument. A woman from the church was also so welcoming and friendly. She really mare us appreciate our visit. And the attached pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this Cathedral.

It is a fantastic building to explore, and once you pay for admissions, you can visit as often as you like for the year. They do a good selection of tours from ground tours to roof and central tower tours and book on the website. There is a shop and cafe to visit to with the cafe stocking a good selection of drinks and food. Dogs are welcome in the cathedral with the understanding that you will clean up any mess. You can also get a joint ticket with the castle. They also hold events in the cathedral, so best check the website for details

It is of course totally spectacular and well-worth a visit. Quick tip: if you enter before 10.00 am they do not charge and you can choose to make a donation instead. This information is not on the website which says the cathedral is open to visitors from 10.00 am. Some on a tight budget may appreciate this opportunity. The normal entrance fee is £11.

It was brilliant and stained glass windows gorgeous. Found a quiet place for a prayer . Didn't like the paper guide as it was dark purple with red circles and writing not clear and no difference when I turned torch on. Little labels at places would be better. But I lived coming back and will do so again.

Beautiful architecture, simply stunning! It used to have the oldest tower in Europe at one point. We had free admission - not sure if it was because we got there late afternoon and was a bank holiday? Well worth a visit! Make sure you also use the light projector to show you where the IMP is to!! (£2?)

Fabulous place! A beautiful and truly underestimated cathedral. Magnificent cathedral and history - well worth taking the tour for extra info. There is a great cafe/restaurant next door which is in a lovely setting. Disabled access is good and ramps everywhere to get around

I first visited Lincoln Cathedral as a boy, and have always found it to be awe-inspiring. Our most recent visit (24/02/23) proved this yet again. It was great to see the west front free from scaffolding after extensive cleaning and repair work, and it now looks fantastic! As for the interior, it is majestic, with stunning architectural detail that is rarely matched these days (not that we don't have some excellent stone masons, just that they are few!). There was an atmosphere of peaceful reverence inside and we had a wonderful time wandering around the various sections. But what impressed me very much this visit was the new visitor's centre, cafe, and gift shop. There's an exhibition room filled with fascinating stuff, as well as a hands-on interactive room that's fun and interesting (for adults as well as kids!). The whole area is well-designed and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Overall, an amazing visit that we thoroughly enjoyed. Most parts are accessible for pushchairs/wheelchairs and there are clean toilets available. We gladly paid the £20.80 entrance fee for a family of four, especially after discovering that it takes around £17000 PER DAY to keep this beautiful building running.

What a special place this was to visit. Although I’m no longer religious, it’s hard not to feel closer to divinity inside this church. Our tour guide - wish I recalled his name! - was wonderful and quite funny. As a Mason, it was a little disconcerting to learn that this was the site of a trial of the Knights Templar in 1310, but it’s still good to visit history. The rainy day when we visited added to the ambiance; a very beautiful and impressive structure.

Wow absolutely stunning. We visited last week, bringing my two young children. They both enjoyed the experience and looking at the beautiful windows and learning about the Carhedral. When the sun catches the windows, it is absolutely gorgeous.

What a Gorgeous Cathedral! Pictures really don't do this place justice. Parking is a little difficult but just find a place on a side street or there is a car park about a 5 minute walk. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you love architecture and old world cathedrals.

A visit to Lincoln Cathedral is a must if your ever in the city. Its absolutely stunning inside and out. Its £11 per adult which includes a guided tour (times may vary). There is plenty of information on the the history of the construction of the Cathedral as you walk around. There is also a gift shop and cafe situated at the exit.

Lincoln Cathedral is a marvel of Gothic architecture dating back to 1072. Legend has it that in medieval times a mischievous imp burst into the Lincoln Cathedral, but was quickly cornered on a pillar by an angel and turned to stone. The impish figure, known as the Lincoln Imp, a symbol of divine intervention, can be spotted in the cathedral. Definitely it's worth hearing the tale by the cathedral's guide. It's also worth visiting the cathedral for Luxmuralis, a captivating light and sound experience.

I attended two Concerts by Candlelight by Kinda Dusty (The Beatles and Elton John). It is the perfect setting for this type of event and the revenue raised must help with the maintenance of this magnificent building. Both in the rain and sunshine, its presence is glorious.

Now that is a cathedral. 900 years of history tied up in it's stonework. Multiple styles of architecture. It's absolutely worth the money to walk around and if you get a chance go for the rooftop tour to see behind the scenes and the amazing views.

Staying in Lincoln for 2 nights on business. Took a leisurely walk up to the cathedral and wandered around the narrow cobbled streets. Very quaint, lots of history and ideal for a peaceful short break.

Absolutely stunning cathedral! The architecture is beautifully done, and the stained glass windows are a some of the best I've seen. There is a small fee to enter, which is fine because it goes to keeping this beautiful place in good condition.

It's a great place to visit, the architecture and everything with a lovely cafe. Parking near the castle mound was easy to walk to from the cathedral.

A magnificent building, well wirth the steep walk up to it. I did the normal ground tour at 1030 which was really informative, it was lovely to see the light coming through what is now my favourite stained glass window - the bishops eye. At 3pm i did the roof tour - i always enjoy these at cathedrals but have never done one as it was getting dark before. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Very steep walk from town to cathedral but discovered that there are free parking spaces around it if you can find out how to drive up there. One side is free for 1 hour and other side is 2 fee hours so plenty of time to park and go in. Entry is free up to the main entrance then you have to pay to get to all areas but I was able to take some nice pictures of the stain glass from the entrance without paying to go in. There is also a bus that takes you from bus station to the road that runs past the cathedral and everything else that you may want to see.

Had a lovely few hours looking around the cathedral. Very much a stunning place to explore. The addition of the globe in the centre was really nice and the kids loved it. Great that entry includes annual passes if you do gift aid and kids are free. My youngest enjoyed the crafts as well and has some great art work to bring home.

Beautiful cathedral with magnificent stained glass windows. The guides were great and added to the experience. A very reasonable restaurant and shop as well. If you've got a head for heights there is a tower and roof tour.

Awesome, spectacular- oh there are just not enough adjectives. This is a must see. It is huge. The details are incredible. I am sure you could go every day and you will always find something new to see.

We visited for a quick walk around the cathedral. The building is vast with many different areas for different purposes. It's sympathetically lit, making the most of its features. While not being religious much of the symbolism is lost on me, the beauty and peace of the place is not. It is impossible to imagine someone conceiving of the finished article before the first stone was laid as there are so many intricate details to discover and each space within the cathedral has its own characteristics. Well worth a walk up the hill for a day spent in the cathedral and the surrounding ancient city.

Visited yesterday, and we were blown away! Not only by the cathedral its self, but by the upkeep and global display. Didn't get long as we toom the free parking outside, but we would definitely like to return and spend longer, and get to know more about the history of this amazing place

I have visited this cathedral many times and always find it stunningly beautiful. Now that the facade has been cleaned it looks even more fabulous. We went this time to mainly see Gaia but we took the time to also enjoy the cathedral as well. The new cafe and gift shop are a great improvement too

Had a great time with our youngest son here, he was so interested in the architecture and history of the building. Cafe was full of so ventured out into Lincoln and found a great cafe for tea and scones. Highly recommend a visit with the family.

Excellent tour up to the roof with Dorothy our expert guide. She had a great deal of knowledge coupled with a great sense of humor which made this more enjoyable. Great views of Lincoln from the roof and beautiful views into the cathedral. Cathedral was stunning and this was a fabulous way to spend a couple of hours.

We didn't pay to go inside but nice to walk through the grounds and read some of the history. The court house is very grand. We would have loved to have done the Christmas tree light display if wed have known about it! The cafe was quite expensive and not much variety or choice. Accessible to walk through with push chairs or wheel chairs.

Absolutely phenomenal day out. Staff were amazing and helpful throughout our visit, and despite being a historic building and grounds, it was highly accessible for us. We were lucky to visit on a dog friendly weekend, which was amazing. And I can assure you, dog friendly meant exactly that. My pup was treated like a VIP. There are lifts throughout, and plenty of staff present to help guide you to access points. Tidbits of information are presented at every opportunity and it was a great way to spend the day.

Visited on weekend and quite busy with lots of families and events happening. Included falconry, jousting and more. Interesting old prison on-site. Nice walk and views around castle walk. Worth a look and only £16 for full access

Love Lincoln, we've visited a few times but never looked around the castle before,we must have spent 4or5hours soaking up the history and really enjoying our day out. Standout moment for me was walking around the battlements of which the views are absolutely stunning,we will definitely comeback again in the near future, Lincoln has so much to offer.

Enjoyed the Christmas lights with the family,only did the cheaper version and not the illuminated wall walk. The walk takes you straight down the main pathway, lit up by sparkly Christmas trees on either side, there's a big lit up archway that fires out fake snow every couple of minutes which the kids love. The walk then takes you a short distance around the grounds, lit up with fairy lights and shining deer too. Theres a burger van and loo's and is suitable most of the way round for a wheelchair or pushchair although there are steps at the end so you might have to turn back and go the same way again. Big fairy light bauble for cute photos too. Staff friendly and helpful.

What a great place to come for a walk, a chill, some drinks, or with the kids. In summer the grounds have food, drinks (bar) and there's a band stand kicking out live tunes. A wonderful grassy area to sit and enjoy the food or to just relax and watch the world. You don't need to pay to every the grounds, but you will if you want to walk the perimeter wall (recommended) and visit inside the old castle and prison and of course the Magna Carter. Well worth a visit on a nice day.

Really lovely experience, nice little gift shop. Grounds well kept and didn't see any litter at all. Did the wall walk which was a reasonable price for £11 per person with the audio tour. I'd say without the audio tour, it's not worth £11 as you can quickly walk it. Would be good if they had different price points for just walking and with the audio tour as I'd like to do it again but don't need the tour again. Toilets could be maintained more frequently, there was toilet paper all over the place including the sink and the bin was full and overflowing Other than that, had a very nice time

This castle is fascinating, well worth the trip. Lovely views from the walk around the walls and the old prison is well worth a visit too, could have spent hours more there.

Amazing place for festival i am visiting Steampunk festival every year and it's always great time! art craft stalls great people dresses up i. steampunk great atmosphere and great time to visit Lincoln Castle! entry during festival for ground only is £6 but if you want to see inside and the wall pay additional £10 and you are set! great for families adults friend groups etc

Great place to visit if your in Lincoln. Its free to walk around the grounds but there's a cost to view inside the castle and also for access to the outer wall where you can walk around the top to view the surroundings. I particularly liked the dragons poking out of the wall, they growled and smoked.

Such a cool place to walk around especially in the fog and snow! They also have a cool dragon installation that I recommend, the kids loved it and so did we:)

We got there a bit late in the day so we're only able to walk around the walls, which was very worthwhile offering some fantastic views in all directions

If your into history great place to visit. Dye to covid restrictions we couldn't go underground or into the courts but still worth a visit. It was foggy on and off when we visited which just added to the atmosphere. Unfortunately the Magna Carta was not on view but the Charters of the Forest (no photos allowed) where and these are classed as more important as King John sanctioned them where as tge Magna Carta is a revised addition by his son who took the throne at the age of 9. The prison within the walls is very spooky lol.

The trip to Lincoln castle was very much last minute and we completely underestimated how much there is to see! Allow several hours to view all of the attractions and points of interest. The wall walk is a favourite of mine, offering incredible views of the city.

Wonderful tour of the castle, a very beautiful and well-kept garden, the magnificent walk on the high walls made it possible to see the castle from another angle and see the beautiful landscapes around it, like the beautiful cathedral. I just thought the student discount was unattractive, just a pound.

A very nice walk along the castle's walls. You can enjoy the panoramic view of Lincoln city and it's amazing. Exciting view from each of the watch towers that you can go into. There is an option to borrow an electronic tour guide in English, French or German for telling information on the spots.

Great day out for families, couples, anyone really. Visit the jail, and the chapel. Cafe does good food too. Walk the wall for excellent views of Lincoln.

What a lovely day out! The castle and grounds are lovely and we enjoyed the lovely views from the castle wall walk. I'd recommend going to the castle prison as well as there are lots of interesting things to do and discover. We happened to go when there was a Steampunk Festival on and it was fantastic, with wonderful people and costumes!

A little pricey as it only took us 2 hours to look around but the prisons were nothing like anything we've seen before so that was interesting. The wall walk was also very long compared to others we have been on. The town around the castle was also very charming with lots of places to eat.

Historical place with some interesting things to see and great views from the walls. It was very quiet when we visited, so there were no waiting times and managed to walk around the old prison, view the Magna Carta and walk around the walls without too much fuss

A thousand year old castle is set in nice grounds. You can pick where you want to go and pay separately or all together in a day ticket. It's free to wonder the grounds. It has a Victorian jail on site as well. We walked around the walls today, giving us a great view of the cathedral.

Overly place to go, price is also good and plenty of parking in he area. Loved that you can walk around the grounds for free, plenty to see inside the prison and loved walking around the walk, great views all around. Will definitely return

When we visited there was a history through the ages event with reenactment from Vikings through to Georgian times. The highlight for us was the Roman legionnaires. There is a walk around the battlements with great views of the cathedral, city and surrounding areas.

Really good day out. The prison is very interesting and has some great volunteers playing characters from the era who tell you about life at the prison. The staff are all very helpful. Good cafe too. Wall walk is definitely worth it for the views

Lovely wander around the castle, free entry to just to walk around the grounds. Westgate entrance currently closed due to works but main entrance still open. Lucy the dragon still there and now has a friend. Had a lovely hot choc in the cafe, very clean and quiet in there.

A really cool castle, so much history! You can walk round the top of the castle walls, where you will get some fantastic views across the city and beyond, especially if you walk to the top of the watchtower! If you do the wall walk be aware that it's quite narrow on places and there are lots of steps, so not great if you can't do stairs, there is a lift up to the walls but it was out of order when I was there so just maybe ask at the ticket office if it's in order before going round to it if you need the lift. The Victorian prison is also so fascinating, so much to see and some hands on activities as well. There is lift access to the different floors as well if you can't do stairs. Nice walk around the grounds too, where you may spot a dragon or two! You can go right up to the front of the court house building but it's still a working court so you can't go inside, but the security guard came to the front to tell me all about the court house and it's history which was really nice. All the staff across the site were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All in all a great day out for all ages!

Been many times, went for the Xmas illuminations one weekend night before Xmas and although I didn't pay to walk along the top wall it was well worth going and paying a reduced price just to see the lights around the grounds. Plenty of food and drink options if you needed them but not oversaturated with stalls. Was well worth the visit.

We need to return as we only managed to see part of the castle on our visit. This was mainly due to the fabulous tour guide, Vic, who regaled us with facts and stories about the castle and Lincoln itself, often deviating from the 'script'and going off at a tangent. He was excellent and his talk lasted longer than expected. This is a great place to visit, well worth the entrance fee which is only paid to visit the walls, and the indoor sections.

Well worth the £17 per adult entrance fee. Do the free tour before you explore. So much history in one place.

A last minute decision, The staff and guide Mike were knowledgeable and very helpful. We enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend. The wall walk was great for photos.

We were staying here for my daughters university graduation and how pleased we were with it too. Our stay here was perfect, from the communication we received to the ease of access, to the beautiful room and bathroom provided. The bed was comfortable, with good quality linen and mattress and all the extras you could need ~ kettle, selection of drinks, iron, ironing board, fan, smart TV ~ basically we wanted for nothing. The owners even returned to the property to leave us extra milk and decaffeinated coffee as we were arriving later and then very kindly removed our suitcase and safely stored them as we needed to leave early too. To summarise, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a stay in Lincoln's beautiful Cathedral Quarter and I look forward to returning here again on our nostalgic returns to Lincoln.

We parked just down from the apartments which worked out well with 24 hour parking. The apartment was warm, comfortable and very clean in a perfect location for down town and the historic area around the cathedral. It is on a steep hill, but is about halfway up so not too tiring either way! It was a lovely quiet location with a tuneful wren outside in the early evening singing away. A handy table and chairs are outside your door too. We liked the kitchenette and would have made use of it had we stayed longer.

An amazing hotel with a great location in the centre of Lincoln. The room was lovely and very clean, with the added bonus of a balcony that looks out onto steep hill. Steph was so friendly and the relaxed check in/check out times meant we could make the most of our weekend away. Would highly recommend staying at The Rest, we will definitely be back!

Set in steep hill area of Lincoln close to Cathedral. We just used the cafe, excellent place to rest on the climb up the hill. Nice atmosphere, great coffee, we shared the vegan blueberry cake. Staff friendly, clean and well maintained and decorated at the base of the hotel, which has 16 studio rooms to rent.

We just went to the cafe and had a coffee and chat, and the staff are so sweet. The location is perfect and the atmosphere is really lovely. :)

The Rest exceeded our expectations! A lovely garden room, quality amenities and friendly staff. The bathroom was very spa-like. Breakfast was fresh and huge! We would have stayed an extra day if we didn't already have rooms booked in York!

Appropriately named given the hill it sits atop, The Rest has cozy studio-like rooms with pristine facilities. Bonuses include the ceiling windows and blinds, lots of storage space, and fans to beat the heat. Fully recommended if you're able to get up and down one of the steepest hills in the country!

Had a coffee and a sandwich here which was lovely. I also left my wallet on the table and the team managed to send it back to me via recorded post the next day. It came back with everything in tact, cash included. A huge thank you to the very kind team for this. Will definitely be returning when next in Lincoln.

Great little place, with lovely rooms above the restaurant. The balcony outside is a lovely sun trap, perfect for having a glass of wine. The staff and service was great, they brought us breakfast to our room without us even asking.

Wow! What can we say about The Rest and the wonderful hostess Stephanie? I booked two studio apartments for my daughter’s graduation. Stephanie could not have been more helpful, providing us with a convenient check in and check out time which accommodated our arrival and departure. Being halfway up Steep Hill, it’s an excellent location for graduations or other events at the cathedral. The apartments were spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and quiet, guaranteeing us a good night’s sleep. The extra touches were incredible and could rival any hotel. Complimentary toiletries, beverages, fresh milk and cookies were included. For a small fee Stephanie provided a generous continental breakfast which was delicious. The outside area of the apartments was clean and well looked after, giving a wonderful photo backdrop, with tables and chairs on the balcony area. We had a wonderful stay and I could not recommend it any more highly. We will definitely return. Thank you so much Stephanie.

Amazing amount of information there. The staff/volunteers are so friendly! We went around Christmas and they had a man with an according at the front, playing Christmas songs and that was lovely! It’s unfortunate about how tricky it is to park, but that might not be helped. Think it could do with updating because I went on a school trip about 14 years ago and everything is pretty much the same. Could do with being more interactive too I think as not everyone learns by just reading signs.

Totally amazing free, museum. Full of fascinating objects, as well as vintage life displays and vintage vehicles, including a WWII Tank from Bovington. Please give a donation to help support this excellent museum. Staff are very helpful and friendly too. Note: limited free parking spaces available.

This museum was fantastic so interesting one off the best I have ever been to loved it we spent a few hours there,it is free and free parking if there was a charge I would have gladly paid as it was that good

The museum is free, set within old RAF barracks, has a larger collection of items than expected, and easy to spend 1-1.5 hours wandering through. The theme throughout is a bit interesting - it’s more like a museum of English home life, military, transpiration, and artisan businesses with a collection of random things that touches upon Lincoln sometimes vs. Specifically telling the history or info of the Lincoln area. You sort of wander from room to room not quite sure what is coming next, but each new room has something interesting to draw the eye. It wasn’t very busy on a Saturday afternoon in August. Also gas toilets and a used bookshop, and kids play area in centre.

Really great museum, lots to see from all aspects of Lincolnshire. For a free museum not far from the cathedral it makes a really enjoyable hour or two. The staff were really friendly and explained what they had on offer.

Had a pleasant visit here. Had to find off street parking though. Staff and volunteers are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. ‘Cheap as chips’ to get in. The museum is filled historical artefacts as you’d expect. Family friendly. If you’re in the area, pop in and see for yourself.

Visited a few days ago but didn't get round to leaving a review. Brilliant little place, wonderfully placed and a gift shop with unique and actually well priced bits. The guy working on the reception was incredibly friendly and helpful, made the whole experience really wonderful and felt we should take our time and see everything, probably the best thing to do in Lincoln And they have a tank!

Really very good, free to enter but donations based contributions to keep it running 👍 Huge place. With exciting kids we really did race through with the amount of exhibits, I mean it has a whole be actual tank in there! Excellent playground where the kids happily played.

A fantastic day at the 1940s event. The displays were supported by very knowledgeable people providing fascinating insights. The children particularly enjoyed 'joining' the home guard and undertaking training. Will be returning on a non event day to enjoy the museum in its normal guise too.

A fascinating museum with displays on all aspects of Lincolnshire, its life and industries. Extremely well presented with a great range of exhibits and free admission. Highly recommended.

Visited on the 23rd December 2023 in the morning. On the way to London we stopped by for a visit, we thought it will be a 10-20 minutes visit, but we spend around an hour for a quick scan in this hidden gem. The place is much bigger and has more displays than we have expected. The gentleman at the reception is wonderful and nice! Thanks! We will definitely be back for a detail visit, as parking and admission is free! (Not showing too much photos, go see it yourself)

Excellent museum, plenty to see and discover the history of Lincolnshire engineering and farming heritage. Great collection of old farming and wartime machinery. The staff were very welcoming and keen to introduce us to the museum and it's exhibitions.

Such a fantastic place. I visited Lincolnshire for a week and this place was free to enter and some of the machinery there was fantastic to look at including all stuff from the war and things back in the day. How it used to be It’s well worth leaving a donation as it’s nice to Help out with a upkeep of the place as its that good , they even have a kiddies playing area in the middle and cafe

This place is great!!! Free admission, free parking, lovely staff, refreshments, toilets and souvenirs. Much bigger than you think, with things upstairs and downstairs. Sooo much information to read and look at! If you’re in the area, definitely visit. You can’t go wrong with it.

We really enjoyed our visit. The exhibits are interesting and informative, lots about the military and also about life in the area at the time. There is a large collection of farm machinery, a tank and many different forms of transport. There are recreations of homes and shops, also a schoolroom and chapel. The whole place is well laid out and the staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Great place to visit, with no entry fee!! Helpful staff and lots to look at and enjoy, particularly if you are of a certain age.

Gardens need a little bit of work, but enjoyed the visit. Lunch was good quality, even if choice was limited.

From a photographers point of view the reception areas are bright and airy, full of natural light. Amazing gardens and grounds, great for endless photo opportunities. Lovely cafe and farm shop on site too!

Fantastic, we've been this afternoon to look at the Christmas decorations a Wonderful display , the hall was lovely and warm and no big Crowds of people so you could a good round The guides were very helpful and Polite

I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this place is. We've just been on the twilight tour and it was beautiful and amazing! The tour guide, Hannah (who's also the building manager) was friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. A glass of bubbly and a savoury treat on arrival and the wild tour begins.. fantastic locally made designs in each room and responsibly sourced materials along with a story to tell and history to be revealed in each room you visit.

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Booked afternoon tea for four. Clean, tidy and well presented. We chose the traditional tea. Absolutely delicious... So much food we took some home. Service was 5 star. Staff very polite and accommodating. Highly recommend. (sausage rolls are easily the best in the county!) We also visited the shops. Beautiful boutique style. Again, all the staff were lovely. Great size farm shop, offering a great variety of stock. Some very tasty treats... Enjoyed the bakewell tarts. We will definitely return. Great place! Looking forward to visiting the hall itself next time!

If you enjoy historic house and gardens visits add Doddington Hall to your list. A late Tudor stone mansion with Georgian interiors as the house was updated 300 years ago by the family. The guided tour is included and you get a really good look at the three levels of the house. With all the layers of time and family life that ate so interesting. Stunning gardens, and great farm shop, garden shop, restaurant and Homewares. A lovey choice for afternoon High Tea and shopping. Highly recommend.

What a lovely place. The grounds and buildings are beautiful, free parking too. We took a 30min stroll round the pond (shortest if the estate walks) followed by afternoon tea. Tea is served in the coach house tea room and garden which is their wedding venue. No dogs allowed inside or out so leave pooch at home. Definitely book as this seemed to be the way to assure a seating. The garden is quiet and beautiful just the place for afternoon gluttony. My partner and I are both veggie and went with my Dad and his partner who are not. (Separate menus) All the food seemed fresh and definitely delicious. Sandwiches , coronation chickpea in Brioche bun was a delight with a plate of small cakes/pastries with scones, jam and clotted cream in case you have a spare slot. All presented beautifully with fantastic service. Worth your time and pennies.

Fabulous house beautifully decorated for Christmas. A great place to visit with children and make memories. The rooms are fabulously decorated in the nursery rhyme themes. The knowledgeable staff keep the children entertained & the cafe serves delicious home cooked food 10/10

Just brilliant! The house is incredibly interesting and the guides are very knowledgeable and have so many fun facts about the house. The gardens were just as great if one better! I am a professional gardener and I was so impressed by the upkeep of the formal gardens and topiaries. The walk around the gardens have a very fun activity to complete, the group I was with are all above the age of 25 and we had so much fun completing the activity and playing the games set out along the way! There is never a dull moment along the walk, and it was lovely and quiet as well despite being a bank holiday Monday! Will definitely be coming back again

What an amazing day at Doddington Hall and Gardens. It was our first time to go for Pumpkin picking, so was just fantastic. We really enjoyed every part of it. The fall spirits is so cozy, the Halloween decorations so lovely.Then we headed to the pumpkin field, people from every where gathering there and searching for the perfect pumpkin, all smiling and enjoying it. Thank you very much for making it simple and easy for everyone to enjoy the Halloween. Will come again next year 😍😍😍

We didn't actually go to the hall or gardens but had lunch at the cafe. The food was absolutely delicious- we ordered some adult and children's meals - and it was served quickly. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hopefully next time we'll have time to explore the rest.

A house full of history. Many fine paintings, furniture, and porcelain. Staff are very friendly, polite and impressively knowledgeable. I do recommend a visit to this house, gardens, cafe and nice shops.

We visited for the 12 days of Christmas, it was lovely, we arrived at 4 pm so it looked stunning in the dark. We visited the cafe and had coffee and cake, cake was super good, a very generous portion. The shop is well laid out and has a lot to offer. The staff and the volunteers here are so Happy, helpful and very informative about the hall.

An absolutely gorgeous Elizabethan mansion... it has never been sold since being built! We enjoyed a magical visit ✨️ viewing their creative and thoughtful Christmas Displays 🎄 You can feel the affection the family have for their home and a visit is a must if you are able...

Excellent Farm Shop, full of foodie goodness. Excellent selection of cheese, bakery, drinks, sauces and delectable treats. The cafe is good too and all coffee lounge too that also serves hot food throughout the day. Dog friendly outside and within the coffee lounge. Always nice to drop in, with friendly and helpful staff. Some nice walks round the estate and gardens too.

Met up with a friend for brunch on this grey grisly January day. We left feeling much better for the fabulous scrambled eggs & smoked salmon on sourdough toast & lovely coffee. A nice amble outside, too early in the year for the Hall & Gardens, that’s for another day. We explored the farm wagons, the food shop and fancy goods , somehow we managed to while away 3 hours….. just like that 😊

A fantastic house, crammed with treasures, artworks and curios. Something different around every corner. Loved the house and the knowledgeable guides, who were happy to share stories and anecdotes about the place. Beautiful gardens and a kitchen garden that supplies much of the food produced in the cafe. Some of the best and highest quality cafe food I have ever eaten - never seen pheasant sandwiches before and the cake portons were massive! A great farm shop, filled with temptations.

We visited the 12 days of Christmas display and it was magnificent. Timed booking only. Lots to see and do, shops, cafes, gardens, Christmas trees. Highly recommend a visit.

Shouldn't be closing it down. A beautiful part of the city, valued and will be greatly missed. Lincoln will be a joke without a market. Save it.

I had a key cut there half the price of anywhere else. Very obliging. Lovely fresh vegetables 😋. Be good when all the stalls are open .

Very good I come here regularly i do like this market it's safe not to much trouble outside the cafe and loos are clean friendly people and nice to have a look around for an hour or two. Fresh fruit and veg available to buy

Few stores in there nothing to shout about . but one to mention is the key cutting shop in there went to 2 different timmons to get a key cut with just a nahhh dont do um went to this gentleman and right away tried a few keys and sorted it 1st time great service great bloke 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We enjoyed a short trip to Lincoln Market. Big high street with lots of different affordable stores. Great selection of meat in the market too. Lincoln is a Great place for a local family outing

Quite empty. Interesting greengrocer with good range of products and butchers offering cheap bulk buys. The fishmonger is still closed as are all the clothes and book stalls.

Sadly the place was deserted and only a few stalls open. My wife was looking for buttons and found a wonderful selection so visit was worthwhile

Really lovely visit to the collection today lovely exhibit really showing the breadth of history effecting Lynn Really enjoyed the interactive microbe show lots of fun playing with the installation creating patterns with light and our own bodies! Cool to have such curated collections such a short distance from the castle and Cathedral Cafe on site is absolutely lovely and the toilets were very inclusive would recommend!

22/5/22 Collection: very interesting building with temporary exhibits and a very fascinating archaeology display with interesting curios and displays about how they research this. Kid friendly activities also present with a playroom. Cafe is present too but the lunch options are confined to the soup of the day (apparently kitchen closed due to covid). Usher Gallery: interesting display of art, antiques, clocks & ceramics. Interesting things on display include a long case clock with its face removed to show a wooden mechanism & a mouldy picnic on display to illustrate increasing food demand!

Great visit for anyone in Lincoln. A fantastic collection of archeological finds, and the added bonus of a robot tour guide! Really knowledgeable staff who clearly care about their work. Well worth a couple of hours visit - and free too!

After going to the museum, you will know whose statue is beside the train station. It is a small museum and is nice for visitors who visit Lincoln for the first time.

Fantastic day out. My partner and I went without children and we had a lovely time , animals all well looked after, lots of things to do, archery go karts tractor ride etc

Had a really lovely few hours here, feeding the lambs and seeing the baby cows, chicks and goats. Great little play park with bouncy pillows. My biggest mistake was not checking the closing time we went midweek and didn’t realise it closed at 2 🙈 I wish I’d turned up earlier to have more time here!!

Such a nice little place, it’s definitely not filled with animals BUT there’s tonnes for the kids to do and the animals they do have are obviously well cared for. Plenty of parking space but I have heard it can get really busy. The facilities are all clean and well maintained. The cafe is big enough and has decent options, portion sizes are small for adult meals but the kids get plenty! The gift shop is big and reasonably priced.

Absolutely fantastic. We have been to similar kid farms for activities and things to do local in the Midlands…. However we decided to book the night before as weather was predicted to be dry… it was one of the wettest days, which I thought we’d be full of mud grumpy 3 year old etc but how wrong was I? Pleasant staff, yes a lot was outdoors trampolines bouncy pillows and play equipment. We used the summertime sledges (but wet but we had fun) the the huge slides outside were brill, go karts we’re fab, the tractor ride was ok just right timing however… the animals disliked the rain as much as us!! Aha They had an indoor cannon shoot with foam small balls, the adults had more fun! Aha The animal barn is layout brilliant and activities throughout the day… smaller animals are put into areas for the kids to pet them and they was lovely. The soft play was not massive but for us it was perfect. Toy shop was ok priced and the deluxe hot chocolate is a must! Prices were not expensive compared to some farms and I think we had the best out the time we were there! Was impressed and glad we took our raincoats! But would love to return!

Went to take daughter to meet Santa. What a fantastic experience. Really well thought out and decorated, highlight was the singing session and of course meeting Santa. Absolutely loved seeing the animals and feeding them.

What an amazing place! Super tidy and well kept, friendly staff and plenty to do for a full day, my two didn't want to leave! There is a full timetable including bottle feeding cattle, petting smaller animals like rabbits and guinea pigs and holding chicks. The Skyrider was a huge hit, super fun and exciting, there is a tractor ride, crazy golf, trampolines etc etc and all ended in a foam party.....worth every penny!

Lots more here than we thought there would be, great day out. My children really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a visit

We enjoyed a lovely day here celebrating our granddaughter's birthday. Despite the typically wet British weather, there was plenty to do and see for all members of the party (which included young and old members.) The good selection of animals seemed to be well-cared for and the different activities were great fun. I would definitely recommend for a family day out!

Loved this place! Visited with friends, all of our first time. Arrived 11am and stayed all day, can definitely fill the entire day, even felt like we kept pulling the kids off stuff to get to something else we didn't want to miss. Highly recommend, and if you stay for the foam party you need towels and change of clothes!! Great day out!

Family of 6 2 adults and 4 kids with extra child and two adults in tow. Utilised the winter admission (dirt cheap). Upon arrival, it was welcomed and shown to parking, which is a good touch, saves the usual chaos of people trying to get as close to front as possible drama. Car park is stoned but not marked out bays. Easy to locate using sat navigation. Parking looked to be of plenty. Park it self was clean tidy with plenty spaced to sit and picnic, rest ect. Plenty dustbins with minimal litter. Set out well with animals one end and said animals located in appropriate spacious and clean pens, avirys and barns. All looked happy and easy to move about both animals and humans. Play areas are awesome. Indoor is heated and huuuge. Outdoor ones are cool too. There was trampolines, a all weather slope kart thingy. Seesaws and we found a mini golf put area. Tractor ride was short but very much fun. Indoor softball shooting area was great too. Staff welcoming and kind informative. Loved the calf feeding and the cow milking session. Small animal petting was a lovely touch too. but over all I am happy and we would return again. Kids all loved it and that's all that mattered to us.

Truly is the best Christmas experience, my 9 yr old absolutely loved everything about our visit to rand farm, from seeing Santa and his elves to feeding the calves and riding in a tractor. So much to see and do and worth every penny. Highly recommended for children of all ages.

I haven't taken my little girl since she was very little (she's now 6) and things have definitely improved since then. Everyone was so nice, friendly, great little shows and Santa was a real gem. I'll definitely be back, great day out 😀

Great day out with family ,food reasonably priced ! Grandchildren bottle fed the lambs and stroked the baby chicks .With all the rain it was very muddy,slippery around the trampoline area causing children to slip over on it .

Great day out, plenty to do even if it rains, indoor animals with chances to feed, pet and hold. Even better when it's sunny and you can enjoy all the outdoor space. Restaurant a bit pricey, so we took a pack lunch as with admission price can get expensive for a family day out. A shop filled with toys as soon as you walk in and next to the toilets. So had to rush through to avoid our tolder expecting a new toy.

Really enjoyable day out, is something for everyone to enjoy and all age groups. Loved feeding the animals and would definitely recommend.

Staff were excellent, very knowledgeable. Building is well placed for main attractions & also very beautiful; has all the usual 'gift/souvenirs' of the area too. However, on a board outside the TI Centre, it advertises a guided tour at only £5.00 per person. If you only go on one guided tour, whilst in Lincoln, this is the one to choose. I understand the guides are local volunteers, conduct the tours as they are passionate about the area & this shows. Super tour, not a strenuous walk & well worth an hour, or so, of your time. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Wherever we go, we utilise the Tourist Information Centre and Lincoln was no exception. Very helpful. Nice little shop.

Great place to get out and walk, lots of tracks to walk around between paddocks and friendly horses and donkeys to meet. Great cafe and shop. Staff very helpful and informative. Lots of free parking. Entrance is free.

We visited today with two children (3 & 6) and my mother on her scooter. We had a nice day. There isn't many places to shelter (we had a big rain storm!) so take an umbrella or coat if possible. The cafe was really nice and we managed to get a table and eat but it is small so be prepared to wait. The food was good quality and tasty. My husband went into the charity shop and said that it was good. We also did the Easter trail - which was good however quite expensive for what it was. Also we didn't see hardly any horses - a few donkeys out sadly. Saying that the playground was ACE and made up for the lack for horses. We have visited on a holiday and found hardly anything for children in Lincolnshire so this was so welcome. Overall it's a charity, they have made a good use of the space and tried to encourage people in, having accessible pathways and play facilities.

We enjoyed a lovely walk around the horses and ponies. The horses look really well looked after with plenty of field space and solid shelters! There's a play park area for little legs and cafe where you can get a bite to eat. They've also got a lovely little gift shop and 2nd hand books for 50p area. Everywhere was immaculately clean too and the staff we spoke to were lovely. I'd definitely recommend a visit!

Good place to take children if they like donkeys, pony's and horses. Very friendly staff, and a very good place to have a meal. Plenty of car parking, also has a charity shop to support the rescued animals, don't forget, donations are accepted.

Great venue for kids. Nice gift shop and brilliant cafe with super friendly staff and volunteers throughout. Great play area for babies, toddlers and older kids with a lovely walk through the different paddocks. A variety of horses, ponies and donkeys are around with a number of them happy to be petted. Good picnic facilities and educational signs around.

Great place to visit, we come as often as we can. My 13 Yr old daughter absolutely loves ponies/horses. Came today to test out her new camera, not many horses about but was a chilly damp day. Great lunch as usual in the cafe, friendly staff, not so busy today so lunch was piping hot and wasn't too long from point of ordering. Play park for younger children, used goods shop, gift shop and books. Free to enter but always make a small donation regardless of what we have spent in cafe/shop. Bransby was absolutely stunning, so clean, and all the staff we met were so friendly and helpful, especially the ladies in the tack shop who gave us some great local information. The work Bransby do is amazing, all the Horses Ponies and Donkeys looked happy and content. Its free to visit but I would urge all People that visit to please give a donation however small it really helps to give rescues like this the funds to continue their great work. The cafe do the most amazing food and cakes, especially the Lemon drizzle cake. The gift shop was huge with gifts to suit everyone. We will be back visiting the area in June and Bransby will definitely be on our list.

What a wonderful place. Visited with my wife and granddaughter's aged 7 and 11 who had a great time following a Easter trail. Interesting and inexpensive way to spend quality family time. Highly recommended 👌

Brilliant place to have a walk around to see the horses and donkeys in a clean, well organised set up. A lovely cafe and shop, even better to know it is supporting a charity who currently looks after over 300 rescued horses and donkeys.

We have visited several times before and always find the experience enjoyable. On this occasion we had a Turkey Lunch in the cafe and took a friend with us. The meal was lovely and we all enjoyed it. When the weather is fine it is lovely to walk outside on the footpath between the fields to see the horses and donkeys etc. There is also a very good play area for children. Also a gift shop, charity shop and second hand books.

I visited here as a carer for someone that wanted to come here. Very welcoming place. Clean and well maintained. The food in the cafe was very nice. All staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The horses are well looked after. As a horse owner myself it was lovely to visit and very much worth it

Great place to visit, we didn't see many animals today but it was windy. Plenty's of toilets and surprisingly the food and drinks are well priced and not expensive. Highly recommend good place.

Absolutely brilliant place. Lot's of horses/donkeys to look at and stroke. Lots of benches to sit on as you're walking round. There's a children's play park, inside cafe and courtyard seating, plenty of toilets about, lots of car parking and a gift shop were you can make a donation as it's all free. Well worth a visit.

What a wonderful place! Free to get in The visitor centre is well appointed. The shop sells some really lovely items and the tea shop is excellent. There are some great gentle walks and opportunities to see the horses. The place is spotless and the staff welcoming. Looks like plenty to entertain kids too. I will definitely be visiting again ☺️

My friend and I often visit throughout the year and decided to book their Christmas lunch. What a treat we had. The food was delicious and the care and attention of all the staff was amazing. A wonderful place to go and spend some time meeting all the horses and donkeys. We try to visit every few months as there is a monthly themed treasure hunt our son loves to do. A nice, reasonably priced cafe, free entry, an outdoor play area and the opportunity to adopt certain animals make it a lovely place to visit

Visited on a weekday. £9.50 plus £3.00 for parking so quite pricey compared to similar memorial places, however it is a good charity so didn’t worry too much about the cost. The tour is worth listening to and the films and info very interesting, humbling and thought-provoking. The planting is young and will only get more beautiful as the plants and trees mature. Enjoyable day out. Nice cafe with a terrace in the sun and friendly staff. The shop is pricey also.

An amazing but poignant place to visit, the walls of names really bring home how much they sacrificed to keep us safe. The brilliant view of Lincoln Cathedral and the silhouettes of the airmen made you feel they were still here in spirit. It's definitely worth going to see. The exhibition is interactive and very informative.

Interesting visit. Great photo opportunity of Cathedral from site. Reception staff and guide most helpful. Recommend taking the free guided outside tour. There is a £3 car park fee to help towards costs and an optional payable indoor display with films. Cafe food and service very average. A lot of shortly mown grass with little diversity!

What a wonderful place to visit and pay your respects to our heroes. Sadly my first visit was due to a cousin passing and having a wake with all his family and friends. The staff are amazing and showed us all great respect and compassion in such circumstances. They supplied a beautiful buffet which was very tasty with many varieties of sandwiches etc. As for the centre, it is new and I understand the grounds need time to grow and mature and any teething problems will be done in time but it is well worth a visit. The views are stunning and with such an open space you feel the ambience of why you are there. Congratulations to all who run this beautiful memorial. See you again soon.

Visited here soon after it opened and now with my 10yr old grandson. There's been a lot of updating and improvement. So ... no height barriers and plenty of parking for £3 a day - payable at reception. Free to walk round the gardens, memorial and shop/cafe. The museum is £8/£9 adults and £5.50 a child. The memorial Gardens and sculpture are amazing, well worth a visit without the museum. The museum is fairly small, on 2 levels, but with lots of interactive activities, a really good introduction film, in four 3 minute sections. There's a lot of information and visual effects. Very impressive. We had almost 2 hours visiting, by which time we'd taken in enough information and had had enough reading etc. Great place, friendly staff, well worth a visit.

What a beautiful, tasteful, informative memorial center. You've done the men & women proud! Parking is paid for at reception, you give your reg, pay & you're done. Simple. There is no charge for entry to the cafe & gardens. The cafe offers a good aray of food & beverages and the food is very nice & the staff are friendly. The gardens are a beautifully peaceful place for reflection, or to perhaps find a relative as my friend did. The staff printed off his late uncle's war records and guided him where to find his uncle's name. He placed a poppy next to it & it was rather emotional. The view across to the cathedral is quite something. It makes for the perfect location of this center. Inside, should you choose to pay, you will be guided through the incredible exhibition, where there are films to watch, phone calls to listen to & much to read and look at. Take your time and soak it all up! This special place is a must on your to do list if you visit Lincoln. I can't speak highly enough of what they've done (and even if I could, I wouldn't be able to get the words out as I've a lump in my throat just thinking about it)

Was really a wonderful place where they've spent years fighting to get it and clearly spent a long time bringing it up to such a great standard. Took heaps of photo's for £5. The personal audio devices were most informative and interesting giving you as mich time as you want between each one. Really enjoyed it and very well worth a visit. Tons to see and a lovely small cafe at the end too!

Excellent visit and would highly recommend. The free guide around the site was fantastic, very informative and taken by a volunteer guide who was extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to answer any questions you may have. It was also a place that will make you think and appreciate all the sacrifices made by that generation for us today. I would also like to mention how reasonably priced the visit was. A very small entrance fee for parking and an optional exhibition which you would need to pay separately for. The cafe was excellent as well. Lovely food again reasonably priced, and a small but good quality

This is one of the most amazing places we have visited! From the ethical approach to the amazing curation of the memorial and exhibits every detail is considered. The displays are fantastic and take into account all sides. The staff went above and beyond to help and give advice about the exhibition and the gift shop. There is a wonderfully calm and reflective feel to the memorial. The spire and panels provide a fitting and lasting memorial to the 58000 men and women who lost their lives. The entry price allows you to return again during the year if you pay for that option. Great value. This is a special place which commemorates all those across all nations that gave the ultimate sacrifice. We will be back.

Fair price as it's the same whether it's for a day or a year. So many themed events on too. Today there was a Glenn Miller Tribute Band playing with lots of visitors dressing up in 40's style clothes and bringing picnics. Stark and imposing memorial on an elevated site. Glimpses of the distant Lincoln Cathedral in the distance. Very nice cafe with very friendly and efficient staff.

What a lovely place to visit. Very moving tribute to those who fell for our freedom. Goid choice of food in cafe. Lovely coffee. Various items in shop. FREE to enter, but a charge to go in the Exhibition. Car Park £3. Free use of wheelchairs, but can be difficult to push on the gravel areas.

A great place to visit to learn more about Bomber Command & it's role within the Armed Forces. Helpful & well-informed guides hold regular tours that are informative & educational. The memorial is a thought provoking tribute to all those who were lost in conflict. Highly recommended.

Situated on the outskirts of Lincoln, with good views of the Cathedral and Castle, with friendly staff/volunteers who take such pride in their work. The River of Remembrance, the Spire, and Walls of Names testament to lives lost. So sad, but calm and peaceful. The indoor exhibitions are wonderful, evocative, and well thought out. Plenty of seating indoors and out, and of course a pleasant cafe, with ration boxes on sale for children. Well stocked shop too. All in all, a visit to be remembered.

Such a fitting memorial to the Bomber Crews, so many sacrificed their lives for freedom. Excellent facility, offering an informal environment or more formal exhibition space! Externally the grounds are peaceful, background sounds of today's aircraft overhead. Excellent positioning with vires over Lincoln and to the older landmark - Lincoln Cathedral! Nice cup of coffee available in the welcome warmth, on a winters afternoon, of the cafe. A broad menu was offered.

Visited on a Sunday in a small group. We did the 40 minute free tour with the guide who ran through the inception of the project, the history and some of the very moving stories. The outside space if free to enter, as are the shop and cafe. The exhibition costs around £10 per adult and it was very immersive and very interesting. Well worth a visit if you ate in the area.

Came here for the museum, but they were running an event for the kids, build your own Anderby shelter. A great couple of hours spent as a family cutting, glueing and building. We walked the gardens after, but didn't make the museum. Speaking to the staff and volunteers, they do such an amazing job. Had coffee in the cafe after. Paying the £3 parking seems such a great way to help keep up this memorial to such an important legacy. We will definitely return!

Wow. What an absolutely moving experience it was seeing this memorial. It's an absolutely stunning place to see and honour the ultimate sacrifice made by real heroes! We had a cracking guided tour. I really recommend doing one. I'd mention the fella that did ours by name, but I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten it 😔

Visited only for some lunch in the cafe. Will definitely be returning to do one if the guided tours and actually have a look around as we didn't have for unfortunately. Didn't realise that's was as much there as there is! Very impressed. Can't wait to return

The place is under restoration but what you can still access is lovely. There is a exhibit with video showing the history of the place which is extensive. The parts that are open right now are still worth a look and the entrance is free during the repairs. You can see a nice view of Lincoln if you walk up the the bishop’s private quarters.

Lovely way to spend an hour or so next to the Cathedral. It's very atmospheric and has been tastefully restored without ruining the history. Great views over the city at the back. There are loos, a shop and coffee machine and a small exhibition with a video and information. The staff were amazing and one sat and went through all the badges (which members can collect) to make sure my son had a unique one. It made him so happy 😊

Such a lovely historical place to visit. Really fascinating learning about this place and it's importance to Lincoln's past. The lady at the desk was so friendly and helpful too. Fully recommend a visit ☺️

An interesting site is sitting next to the cathedral. It is only small but must have been impressive in its day. Guide book avadible and information boards dotted around. There are a lot of steps, including the entrance, into the palace grounds. Toilets and gift shops with cold drinks are avadible. There is a new way to get to the entrance, which I signed posted. There is no car park on the site, and I think parking around the cathedral is limited to an hour.

First weekend being open since the conservation project. It's all very impressive. Congratulations to all those who have worked on it. Also impressed with the staff during our visit this morning. My 4 year old grandson was impressed too, although take care on the steps.

Thank you English Heritage - worth 10 stars, brilliant 'hard hat' tour of this amazing building. The information we received on this tour with the 3 (EH, Architect, builder/stone mason) was exceptional. I would highly highly recommend booking this. We learnt more about archeology and renovating ruins than ever we could wandering round on our own. This is a working site, having started 18 mths ago with 6 months left. Remarkable work, painstakingly taken care. I think its the opportunity to be with 3 hugely professional guides that make this tour quite unique. If you're an English Heritage member then don't miss this opportunity. Fascinating.

Great place to visit for an hour or so and wander around. Very informative and steeped in history. Well presented to help you understand how each part was added or modified during its history. Stunning views of the City from an angle not accesible elsewhere.

Can't wait for the restoration work to be done and the whole site to be open again, did the free open part for something to do a few good views and a real teaser to what you can see when its going to be completed . Views from the tower are pretty good.

Beautiful place for walking around lakes and forest. Play area for kids . Clean toilets. Cafe although font recommend the tea like dish water very weak

Absolutely love it here! Lots of different trails and little adventures to be had. Along with a playground, café and toilet facilities makes it perfect for a little family trip. This week we saw squirrels, woodpeckers, sparrowhawks and even a deer. Awesome day!

Best park in town, just fascinating to walk through or just set for few hours to watch the docks in the lake. Recommended for families or even individuals. The integration of green nature with the lake is so incredible and peaceful. Go and have a peace of mind ♥️

Nice area to take a walk or have a picnic with the family when it’s good weather. Cleanliness and Tidyness of the area could do with some time and effort. Unfortunately although there are many bins in the main areas these don’t seem to be used and rubbish can be found all over the place.

Lovely walkways, peace and tranquility and a lovely walk for dogs. On a nice day it's great for a picnic with the family. The lake is so calm and peaceful.

Of the many parks around the Lincoln area this is by far my favourite. So many different types of habitat in one place... forest, meadows, heathland, sculpted gardens, several lakes, the variety of animals, plants and fungi that live here is staggering... just for starters I've counted at least six different species of ducks and two species of deer. (You have to come very early to see the deer as they are very shy and expert at hiding as soon as people appear.) If you are a photographer or, like me, a painter, you will never run out of subject matter here. There are many great secluded picnic spots and some of the lakes have real sandy beaches! If you come in the rainy season, bring wellies because there aren't many surfaced paths in the interesting areas, but I like it that way. The cafe is a bit of an afterthought and far too small for the number of people wanting to use it at busy times. You're far better off bringing your own. But that's fine by me, I don't expect a country park to be run like a seaside resort. (Image is a painting I made from a photo I took of the main Hartsholme lake in 2019)

Wonderful place. Lots of peaceful walks, plenty of wildlife, the lakes are full of birds. Highly recommended.

Amazing park! It is magical to walk through and to do a picnic as well. My husband and I enjoyed our time there watching the very old trees and listening to ducks

Stunning park, lovely walks, exceptionally clean and maintained by Rangers. As soon as the people have gone for the day the Rangers and round tidying up. Plenty of shade on a hot day.

What a delightful unexpected find. Stayed locally on a holiday and wanted a chilled out space after a hectic couple of days. Beautiful setting where kids could happily feed the ducks.

Hartsholme Country Park is a gem in the City of Lincoln. The Park staff do an amazing job considering the squeeze on public expenditure. There is a large lake, "river", play areas and a cafe. It is kept as natural as possible so some paths can be boggy after rain. Some off path areas can resemble swampland. Cycling is not allowed in the park but, sadly, many ignore that rule. The park adjoins Swanholme Nature Reserve which is wilder, being the remains of several gravel pits which are now lakes. Pleasant walks can be enjoyed by combining the park and reserve. The longest walk possible is about 4miles. Swans are often seen on the lakes. Ducks abound and kingfisher can be found if you know where to look.

The campsite is such an asset to the city. Peaceful, good facilities and plenty to see and do around the site. It's a good walk to the city along the river and also on a bus route. Zoe the warden who was on duty for most of our stay was friendly and helpful, really passionate about the area and nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. The other wardens didn't seem to like campers much...

Great place to walk around. Child friendly. Has a good play area and cafe with seating outside. They hold children activity days ,I would recommend booking. Plenty of seating for picnics and lots of different walking routes.

Great park for walking, family and dog friendly

I have been wanting to visit this park with my children for a while, and thought what better time than in half term. It has free parking which is a bonus, and no danger of getting blocked in, as it's a one way system. There are a few little paths, that take you to different parts of the park and lakes. We used the toilets, which were clean and accessible. We visited the playground first, which had climbing areas, slides and roundabouts, enough to keep the children entertained. Then we walked back to the cafe for a snack, at reasonable prices. Then went to the visitor centre where they had maps, and information about the wildlife and work they do for the park. We walked up to the lakes to watch the ducks. Overall we spent a few hours here looking around the park. I will definitely come back in the summer.

Amazing day out and free! Free parking , the children's play area was brilliant with lots of space, beautiful walks and so much to entertain both children and adults. We fed the Robins, ducks, geese, pigeons ... and I've never known such confident and curious squirrels! They literally come running over to see what you've got and will sit at the side of you. Such an amazing experience for us and our 4 year old too, he had lots to share with his friends when he went back to school the following day! There's a cafe on site which is the only place we spent money, the hot chocolates were the best! We would definitely make the hours journey to visit here again, perfect for clearing the mind. Plenty of dog walkers but very clean and tidy , including toilet facilities too.

Really enjoyed the lovely walk around the lakes. Nice little cafe with beautiful views, lots of seating and delicious food. The staff in the cafe section could've been friendlier, not a hint of a smile in sight but that aside I enjoyed lunch there. Fantastic indoor kids play area which is free but need to book in there at the desk. Lovely little gift shop too. Massive car park available but it Is pay and display so don't forget to get your ticket. Lovy day out for a walk with dogs or kids or even just by yourself. Would go again.

A real gem in Lincoln for young children, free indoor play centre with a 45min play slot, indoor/outdoor cafe selling food and drink; allowing dogs in designated area. Small craft shop. Beautiful decking look out over the lakes. Outdoor water play area which is on befween 9-3.30 everyday. Sand play area. Small high and challenging assault course for older children 8 years up. Car park is £2 in coins only. Dog walkers haven around the lakes. A perfect place for my three year old son.

Nice place for long walks in surrounding nature. It has beautiful lakes and is very scenic with lots for the little ones to do. There's an inside and outside play area and a large sandpit with water table. Food and drink also available and a small gift shop. A cheap place to bring the children.

Once gravel pits in the 1960s this has been transformed into a haven for many bird species, notably the beautiful nightingale and thrush. Paths can get muddy so take appropriate footwear. Dogs MUST be kept on leads.

Lovely place to visit especially if you have children or a dog. Lots of different walks to take, the one we did was pram and wheelchair friendly. Lots to see and explore. Swimming opportunities for the dogs. Visitor's centre had very clean and well equipped toilets and a lovely cafe. All are dog and wheels friendly. Cafe serving reasonably priced food, which was excellent, as was the service. Some lovely outdoor seating with gorgeous views. Large car park, reasonably priced, with disabled spaces. Highly recommend a visit here.

Its about 2 miles from where we live so a great place to walk the dog, so many different walks round the lakes, you can often see cormarants sat on the islands wings spread out, summer time there are sand martins and along with all the various waterfowl if you're lucky you may see weasels playing chase in the stacks of wood that double up as insect hotels!

Decided to visit this point of interest after not knowing what to get up to on a free Saturday. From the images I had seen it looked like quite a large place to visit but there isn’t much open ground for day a picnic but they do have ample picnic tables around the front entrance. Parking is £2 for all day (even though we only stayed for about an hour and a half) if your visiting for coffee you would need to add that cost into account. Great place to take children of 3+ and up to play on the indoor and outdoor areas. I found that some signage and play areas need a little TLC just to bring it up to scratch. They have a small shop based around the natural world and some gift ideas. A decent sized cafe/restaurant for larger meals which looked ok. Good place to visit if passing through.

Lovely walks, nice Cage amd Visitor Centre. Whilst walking around spoke to seversl staff volunteers. They were all polite, knowledgeable and helpful. They all enjoyed what they were doing.

The centre is lovely and the food was great. The walk itself isn't all that scenic apart from glimpses of the lake occasionally

Wow, what an amazing day. The guides and all staff were all helpful, knowledgeable and made the day and a highlight was to watch the red arrows train. This was a great place to see and learn about our history. It will be a very sad day if the place closes.

This review is for a tour of the heritage building based at RAF Scampton. Contact is via email from which an application to visit form will be supplied. Easy to fill out. Entrance is free with donations only accepted. Disgusted to see people ignore this considering 4.5hrs spent by Tony giving a wealth of knowledge. Guy Gibsons office and his Labradors grave stone are well known enough however there is a lot more to see. The hangar tour and sitting in a Hawk is a must. A couple of surprises seen in here. Not giving any more info or photos, if you are aviation minded go and visit for yourself, its worth it. Thank you Tony for more than expected.

A great museum on an airfield steeped in the rich history of the Royal Air Force and in particular 617 Squadron , The Dambusters . Home too for the moment of the Red Arrows aerobatic display team who can often be seen flying during your visit ! A typical pre-booked visit lasts 3 hours with lots to see both outside , in the display rooms including Guy Gibsons office and in the hangar itself were the aircraft are on display . The museum is volunteer led and survives on public donations so please support it as best you can particularly in these worrying times with the future of Scampton airfield and the museum itself in doubt . An excellent 3 1/2 tour with a very knowledgeable guide, who filled in many of my gaps on the history of the Dambusters story. The problem now is the base is being sold off at the end of 2022 and the future of the centre is as yet uncertain.

I have been here 3 times in the last 11 yrs or so, the volunteers that run the centre are very good and very enthusiastic in the way they deliver the tour, this is a MUST see on the tours of various other museums and historic WWII and WWI places around Lincolnshire.

This was an unexpected and enjoyable visit to the Heritage Centre. Well worth visit and it was made interesting by the guides, Keith and Chris through out. Nice to see the Museum amongst the working RAF base, home of the Dambusters, Red Arrows and Vulcan Bombers.

Very interesting, a great tour, staff we're really friendly, I learnt a lot especially about the Dam Busters and other history. Highly recommended.
