Amazing, beautiful, just pure in awe when we visited here today. The architecture and the way the structure has stood the test of roughly 2300 yrs is just mind boggling!! Amazing views of the ocean and Taormina landscapes!! Highly recommended if your even slightly into history!! I couldn't stop saying "Wow, this is beautiful, this is amazing!! I'm from the USA and you can literally barely find anything architecturally stunning like this in the States!! 🤘👍👍👍

4 stars for the views, 3 for the theater. Instead of historical preservation, they have installed lights and speaker systems, modern railings, plywood walkways, etc. The additions detract from the historic beauty of the old theater, and removing them would improve the experience many times over. I have been to many Greek theaters around the Mediterranean and never seen one so contaminated. It is a beautiful setting with rich history, and it could be so much better!

If you're visiting Taormina you need to see the Teatro Antico di Taormina. We went early to avoid the crowds but if you're going in winter don't worry about this as there were very crowds. The views are astounding and you can see Mount Etna in the distance. As you sit in the seats you can't help but feel transported to a different time and you can't help but think what life, and the shows/play, were like back then. Simply amazing.

A must when in Taormina. Stunning views of the city, Etna, and the coast. The Teatro is stunning. Very historical. We LOVED our visit to this historical landmark. Arrive early because it gets busy later in morning and afternoon.

The theater itself is great. The fact that it is still used for actual plays is both impressive and a bit annoying, as the modern upgrades take away from its ancient charm. It is massive and still going strong after so many years. It's location is probably what makes i more attractive, being up a mountain and with breathtaking view over the beaches and coast. Entry is 10 euros and some may consider it a bit much (since there is not much to do), but you really pay for the view and awesome lookout spots in an ancient site. The queue gets long in the afternoon, so you might want to go before noon.

Great view from the theater. The place itself has a lot of history and it's very well kept and maintained. The view of the surroundings is amazing! You see the beaches, the mountains and everything in between. I highly recommend you get tickets online before visiting or even at the door, because waiting lines can be up to an hour and if it's hot outside it's very tiring.

Beautiful experience and definitely a must when in Taormina. Entrance is 12,-€ p.p and we spend half a day discovering the place. There is the possibility to get an aufio guide but we decided to do our own tour. At the end of the tour you can enjoy a coffee and arancina with a breathtaking view

Cool site! Would be nice to have a few more information signs, especially about which bits have been rebuilt and when. The views are amazing along the coast and the site is well laid out so it's easy to navigate

Really nice place to visit. Is an entry fee for 10€ but is worth to go there, climb a bit more up and see the view from this theatre. Nicely built huge monument. While you in Taormina do not miss this out unless you plan to come back in your life again. Is beautiful.

We decided to see if the line was long before buying tickets. We usually buy ahead, but the weather had been questionable that day. Our decision to wait was a just fine. We decided not to join a tour, and opted for the audio tour instead. I know we were overcharged for that decision. Nevertheless, it was the correct decision for us as seniors who were already tired and hot from the day. We loved it! Even though the movie screen from the film festival blocked the view and the plastic chairs covered the stone seats, it was worth every euro and every minute and every step of the climb up. The best part were the views. I highly recommend spending time at the top and going to the cafe where you can climb the stairs. We happened to have a clear view in that moment and it was beyond fabulous. I think the tour would have enhanced our knowledge, but it didn’t matter. We loved it.

Highly recommend to go to the theater in the morning when it just opens, especially before the large amount of your groups arrive. Love the view - having Ancient Greek theater and the volcano in the same view is just surreal. Also remember to walk around the theater, the viewpoint next to the cafe has amazing panorama view to the ocean. Didn’t got a chance to check out performances in the theater, but think it would be quite a cool experience!

Wonderful place, well preserved. Truly one of the best views in Taormina. If you take a seat in the top rows, you can see Mt Etna, the city of Taormina, and all the sky you could ever want. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend here. Ticket prices are not the cheapest, but it is worth it. Buy tickets online! There was a huge queue every time we walked by, but with an online ticket we got in immediately, bypassing the row of people.

Amazing place presented in a very good way. It is a huge place with a bonus, great view. I liked very much the video which us showing how the theatre looked like when it was whole. Also great tour by Serena. She delivered such interesting information in a most catchy way. Entry is 10 euro, guided tour 12 euro on top. There were a line but not too long.

We were able to visit this place on 21 March 2024 during the first stop (at Messina) of our Mediterranean Cruise aboard the Sun Princess. It was my first time to see a theatre used by gladiators and I was amazed by the scene. The theatre is also located on top of a hill and the scene on top was splended.

Breathtaking views, amazing architecture and very well preserved. The audio guide is worth it. Plan more than an hour so you can have some time to just sit and enjoy the views. There’s a cafeteria on top. Entrance is free on the first Sunday of every month.

I hesitated on paying a whopping €12 to see ruins when I have seen SO many Greco-Roman amphitheaters in my life. I’m so glad I did in the end as the setting is just gorgeous and the views, oh the wonderful, wonderful views!! from the ruins are worth every euro. There are placards in English and Italian explaining the history of the site which was much appreciated, and a very cool video depicting how the site might have looked centuries ago. Great visualisation! Some people had audio guides so I have no idea if they were included?! I didn’t need them with the English language placards before entering the site. Very well-maintained site. Café at the top is surprisingly not expensive and my vegan spinach and pumpkin dough pocket was delicious! Can’t say the same for the butter and chocolate biscuits though: tasteless and dry.

The ancient theatre of Taormina (Teatro antico di Taormina) is an ancient Greek theatre in the picturesque Taormina, Sicily, built in the third century BC. The remains of another Hellenistic building have been found under the Roman cavea. Under Roman rule, the theatre was rebuilt, probably around the time of Hadrian. It was remodelled in the third century AD, with the orchestra turned into an arena and the stage removed. Apart from it's historical significance, it offers a spectacular view of Etna in the distance. A must-visit landmark in Taormina ❤️

It was neat to see the ruins, as well as the views all around. We didn’t do the tour, but it looks well laid out with signage. There are a lot of steps and rough paths - not well accessible for everyone.

Marvellous experience, it has to be lived. Take your time as you discover the history behind this beautiful ancient theatre. Also a great little coffee bar in the perfect location for panoramic pictures.

I enjoyed my visit to this beautiful site, it’s not a very large complex but there is stunning views in all directions. I was here in February so there were very few tourists. There is a little cafe at the top that has good coffee and amazing views from their terrace.

We went there around closing time. So it was not that busy.Absolutely loved it, beautiful theatre. The city of Taormina is a nice place to visit, I highly recommend it.

This garden is the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. Very nicely maintained and really gives the beautiful view to the Mediterranean Sea to the spectacular water. Perfect for pictures and relax on a bench and if you want walk around and just enjoy the view and the good weather. I highly recommend to go there I am sure you will not regret it.

This park is a fresh place in Taormina. You can find a fountain ton drink at the entrance on the side, 2 beautiful and atypical old houses and a small panoramic view on the sea and the train station part of the valley.

We really enjoyed this place! When we visited 06.04.24 the weather was wonderful. From the balcony you could see Mountain Etna and the beatiful sea. We had a nice walk in the gardens then we stopped for a coffee and ice cream and we enjoyed as well the flowers, the atmosphere. Anyway it is a pitty that the constructions look like they gonna fall every moment. Happily we discovered a private terrace where we could enjoy the view to mount Etna a bit more. This place is worth to visit, has no costs and show the beauty of Taormina. We would love to be back one day again there. 🥰❤️

Beautiful gardens, with stunning views, well worth a walk around. It's bigger than it seems.

A beautiful garden which was built by an Englishwoman with a great mix of facilities. It has some lovely terraces with lovely views over the sea and Taormina together with Mount Etna in the distance. It also has a series of follies, some aviaries (2 parrots was all we spotted la children's playground and some outdoor exercise areas. There are plenty of benches and at the far end some stones that look good for a picnic. Some of the buildings were fenced off and there are no toilets within the park. We went in late May about 11.00 and it was quite quiet.

Absolutely lovely, well-maintained and FREE public park on the outskirts of Taormina, with incredible views of the sea and delightful “follies.” I actually almost skipped this place and so glad I didn’t!! Takes about a half hour-40 minutes to stroll through and loop back.

Amazing and lovely garden. There is drinkable water near the central entrance. There are a lot of interesting old buildings and places fo sit relax and enjoy the lovely view.

Beautiful place in the middle or the public garden. Now somethings are under reconstruction but they are still super beautiful and the reconstructive work was placed on that way so the beauty of the buildings is not invisible. Entrance is of course free and you just got to enjoy and everything you see.

Lovely shaded gardens with some ruins to look at as you walk around. On one side you can overlook the harbour and the sea There is also a medium sized playground for the children.

Lovey little garden, definitely worth a visit. Unlike many sites in Italy it’s completely free. Sunset was a really nice time to go, the crowds didn’t seem to migrate from the main section down here, so there’s plenty of space to park up for a bit and enjoy the view.

Very nice site to walk. Nice buildings and very good maintenance. Good overview of the surroundings. Nice night view. No direct parking, but if you come late in the evening, hopefully you can park at the side of the street.

A beautiful garden. Man species of local trees, plants, flowers and cacti. A very interesting mix. There are also many intriguing structures here part palazzo part treehouse. They are called the beehives and built by Florence trevelyan. There is also a park for children with play equipment. There are many outdoor weightlifting stations also. Along the border with the sea there are many beautiful vistas. Highly recommend.

A great public park just outside of the main area of Taormina. It's public and free so you can take you're time here with little to no crowds. It was practically empty in the morning and the middle of the day. Check it out!

Beautiful quiet gardens on the cliffs overlooking the sea. Amazing views looking down the coast towards Catania. The park is a peaceful, cool retreat from the hustle and bustle of Taormina's busy main street.

A small city park. You can enjoy nature when you're done with the immense number of tourists visiting Taormina. They have a nice replica of a 2 man "submarine" with a warhead used to sank English ships in WWII.

One of the most beautiful parks that I have seen; very diverse flora, nice arrangement of paths, nice view points of mount Etna and surroundings and so interesting multi-leveled buildings, combining bricks and wood in an unique style for a park, which remind me of Indiana Jones/Tomb raider structures (found in the jungles).

The Villa Comunale offers a tranquil escape with beautiful views overlooking the Ionian Sea and the Bay of Naxos. A picturesque garden adorned with an abundance of trees, flourishing plants, and inviting benches.

Going to the opera is must do at least once in the lifetime. Italy is the perfect place to do so.

For a community theater, this is outstanding. You listen to an hour or so of selections from famous operas by young performers who are very good. They exude enthusiasm with the stance and manor of professionals, facial expressions and all. At the intermission, you are ushered to a terrace for champagne and a lovely view of the Piazza IX of April. For under €25 a person you can't go wrong. Just be prepared to climb many steps to get there.

Now I'm a punk guy but did it for the wife and loved it. The quality of the pianist and two singers was top quality. It wasn't too long and a kind of opera greatest hits but with the views as well was a magical experience. Definitely give it a try.

We had an enjoyable intimate evening listening to the opera. Even though I didn't know all the songs they sang there a few classics everyone would recognise. Everyone in the hall had a splendid evening and if you want a snippet at the night at the opera it's perfect.

This Opera adds some trimmings to your vacance. Of course this is quite different from the operas in Milano, but I had very good night attending this concert. Between stages you will enjoy drink. This Opera is rather like a Italian song concert and I enjoyed the local atmosphere.

We love the experience very much! Very powerful voice. The place is lovely. Definitely need to dress up a bit to attend!!

What a lovely end to the evening , quality performance from the pianist snd soprano singer . We paid 33 euros each which was good value , they gave you a drink in the intermission , the only gripe I had was that it could be a bit longer with a couple more singers .

A great experience! We spontaneously booked tickets to see the opera last night and really enjoyed it. It was intimate and really personable - great customer service from the staff. We enjoyed several glasses of Prosecco during the intermission and some light snacks (chips, nuts, etc) that were included with the ticket price. A great thing to do if you’re visiting Taormina. We won’t forget this unique experience!

It was a smell opera, singing was great, sorry to say I was expecting costumes. Was very enjoyable

A church right in the middle of Taormina. It is beautiful to look at and there are some stunning views surrounding it. Loved spending time around here and eating by the nearby fountain and spending time in the sun.

This church has very modest inferior with amazing acoustic. We were lucky to visit Duomo during choir performance and enjoyed the holly atmosphere of this place.

Fabulous place in a beautiful location. Sadly it was raining. I would love to come back when it’s sunny and warm. A good energy in this tourist town, people were friendly.

Taormina has several churches in a limbo of land. The Duomo is nice and free to access. Worth 5 min visit

A very reverant active catholic church in the city. Very detailed murals and portraits depicting the life of Christ. In my opinion, the most impressive is a very detailed carving of the last supper in front of the altar. The details on all of the disciples faces is very inspiring that the artist must of had a Strong knowledge of that event in the bible. It worth the time to just sit in this sanctuary and reflect on your personal journey in this life.

This is the main cathedral of Taormina which is the main place of worship in the city. It's a historic medieval cathedral with Roman-Gothic architecture and also features an elaborate statue of the last supper at the centre of the cathedral. It's free to visit and a must do if you're in Taormina.

Beautiful, spectacular and very unique. It was good to be there, spend some time on the square, enjoying the panoramic view from above Inthe shadow of this masterpiece. It's breathtaking from both inside and outside, therefore it's well worth the visit. Can only recommend.

Small piazza in front of the cathedral and surrounded by restaurants. There's a fresh water fountain that you can refresh and drink at but always long queue.

Nice Normannic style cathedral. Definitely worth visiting. No entrance fees. Also the piazza in front invites for a coffee or an aperol.

We came here as a tour guide sort of scurried us in its direction and we were hungry after all. The pizza was pretty good, much pizza in Italy is at least decent. The outdoor seating is just that, nothing particularly special but in a nice enough courtyard of sorts with shade. The interior is nicer in my opinion and still an open air concept. The classic margherita pizza was simple and tasteful, actually really nice. The sweet caramelized onion pizza was tasty, but oily and a bit soggy. I ate it all regardless… Service was good and the overall attitude felt nice.

I had a great experience at the Sicilian cooking class at Ristorante Porta Messina! The day started with a quick coffee while waiting for the rest of the group. Then, we went to the local market to buy some fresh food and fruit and vegetables. Then we went back to the restaurant and started preparing the dishes, which included dry pasta, 3 types of fish, parmigiana, pasta sauce... we also visited the restaurant kitchen! Of course, we finished the course eating what we prepared. The amount of food was so huge that we could not finish it. They offer to take away if you wish. We also received the recipes book by mail and a nice participation diploma. The staff is super warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We were a relatively small group (8-10 persons) and this allowed a great interaction with all the chefs. Sicilian food is super tasty and simple regarding the ingredients, so you should be able to find ingredients in your country and repeat the recipes. Highly recommended!

As a solo traveller to Italy in September 2023, I booked 2 cooking classes at the Porta Messina restaurant. I was greeted by a wonderful, friendly gentleman who took me to the cooking class area. I was pleasantly surprised with the organisation, effort and quality of the service and food. It definitely exceeded my expectations. After many laughs and enjoying the final meal I was given a certificate to show my participation. I had to go back a final night just to try some other delicacies and just be a customer. The tuna was divine. It sure did not disappoint. So glad I booked these classes and I’m sure to be back very soon. Don’t hesitate to book if you want an authentic cooking class. We had a lovely dinner here today with family. Our waiter, Joy, took really good care of us! The food was all freshly made and they happily gave us options in whatever we wanted to eat.

Very busy at lunch. As a solo traveller I kind of had to ask for attention because there were bigger parties ordering food and I was "forgotten" for a while. Taste-wise the dish was delicious, shrimps were a bit overcooked for my taste.

Wow. What an amazing food. We had cheese place they gave 5-6 different cheese and all was amazing tasty with honey and peach jam. Main course was delicious and honestly the portions was that big that we been full after cheese board and main just came. We had house white wine which was delicious. Highly recommend the place but go there in time as everyone knows is the best food here.

The place was very beautiful . The town of Taormina is uphill and has a beautiful view. The place is next to the Gate of Taormina which was very beautiful. The food was as expected by an Italian restaurant. The seafood (€18- calamari fritti)) was fresh and pasta(€15)interesting. The pizza(€15) always good. Aperol Spritz(€9) was also very refreshing during the day. The service was also up to standard although the food got a bit delayed( i think they got confused with the second dish) but brought it promptly once reminded. The prices were a bit high compared to usual but it also might be because of peak summer time. ( July) all in all very happy with everything

We booked a pizza making class here during our short stay. A great experience, making pasta and pizza. We met others also on their travels and enjoyed the experience together, sharing a table as we all ate our own pizza and pasta. Complimentary wine, water, bread and cheese were also included. The restaurant was very busy and did seem a little chaotic at times however our experience overall was great and thoroughly enjoyable.

We ordered 3 courses of meal. The starter was prawn, mussels & squids, and then the main course was fishes, calamari and fried prawns. Lastly, the tiramisu for desserts. The food was good overall. I personally like the starter.

We had a lovely dinner at ristorante pizzeria Porta Messina. Our four pizzas tasted very good and where presented perfectly. The service was good as well and we enjoyed the evening. I can recommend the restaurant for everyone who loves pizza.

We came here for a pizza making class and had a wonderful experience. Water and coffee were offered on arrival, and then we started by hand-making macaroni (quite tricky!) Then we had a break, with water, wine, meat, cheese and delicious bread provided. Then we had a go at making pizza dough. You can't use your dough for your pizza because it has to prove for 36 hours. So you're given some new, ready, dough to hand-stretch, and then add your own toppings. The result was delicious! You then sit and eat your pizza, along with the macaroni (which they cooked and made sauce for), and more water and wine is provided, along with cannoli for dessert. It was a great morning/lunch. Our hosts were wonderful teachers, and made the experience really enjoyable, I highly recommend it.

We did the pizza cooking course and LOVED IT. It was such a great environment and the staff did an amazing job. We prepared Grandma Macaroni and Pizza. Both were fabulous. They provide some cheese, meats, wine, cannoli and lemonchelo as well. Highly recommended if you have an interest in cooking.

Went with a bunch of my friends. Appetizers were had and a variety of meals - pizza, pasta, steak and everyone was very pleased. Pizza was amazing, the carbonara with truffles was exquisite, steak was brilliant. Service was superb as well. 10/10 would come again.

Dear tourist, I knew that this restaurant is rated less than 4/5. But it's Monday and the others are closed (Pizzamania for example) But I didn't expect the quality to be so poor. 2 Calzones are waterlogged inside. The pizza dough is undercooked. The vegetables (zucchini and eggplant) on the 3rd pizza are not cooked at all!!! In addition, the price is well above the average price in the area. It’s obvious that it’s designed for tourists. This is not honest ! To avoid absolutely !

We had an exceptional and heartfelt experience at Porta Messina. We booked a pizza and noodles cooking class in end August 2022. They were very generous and super kind. We eat what we cooked and had enough to take away, a recipe book by email and free drinks. One year later, we still cook the recipes we learned with them. I don’t know when we will visit Taormina again but when we do, we’ll definitely go again to Porta Messina.

We had Sicily Cooking class. Relaxing and nice. Received digital cook book afterwards. Next to us was the Pizza baking class. Looked less interesting. Definitely go for Sicily class!

food was delicious, i ordered pasta with zucchini and red shrimps tartare, the taste was unique and i really liked it, but what really caught my attention was staff. They were really professional and nice, we even got free starters. Waiter who served us, named Joy, was helpful and friendly, food came really quick and i will definitely come back there

We’ve took a cooking Class in here: the chef, Paolo, was amazing ; we've learned alot about cooking sicilian dishes and the results were amazing. Nice and warm place, with very attentif services and great food. A place not to miss in Taormina.

This restaurant was the perfect little place! The ambiance was incredible and the outside seating was amazing. Joey was an amazing server; He gave us complimentary rice balls to try and made the time to chat with us. The food was amazing; I got the paccheri with salmon and the fish was incredible fresh. Overall great restaurant and would recommend to anyone!

Its a cable car ride between Toarmina and Mazzaro. It's advertised as 3 euro one way but that is for locals. We went to the counter to get our ticket and paid 6 euro. Maybe if we had tried the machines we could have got a 3 euro ticket but its a bit unfair to charge extra for tourists. It must make a load anyway the number of people using it Not that long a ride either no longer than 10 mins certainly less

Easy way to travel from Taormina city center down to the beach area, and back again if you wish. Fare is 3 euro/pp for one way or 6 euro/pp with a return trip. Cars run constantly, so you never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes. Masks are required now, which is June of 2022. Things may change soon. Beautiful views of the coast as you travel up or down.

There is a free toilet - that's good, but we had to wait about 15 min before enter to Funivia. May be it was a bad chance or smth other..or they were waiting for ppl to fill all 4 cabins. The trip is short, some minuts. If you are tired or old, or it's very hot - it's ok. Next time I will go by feet😊

After walking down from the town to the beach ( it’s a long way!) we decided to get the cable car back up ! Only 3 euros each and no queuing despite the beaches being busy . 5 minutes and we’re back at the top , great value for money , the walk would have killed us and we’re both fit .

5 minute journey. Getting you from beach to Taormina and vice versa for €6 return. Best to sit in first or last of the 4 gondolas to get the best uninterrupted views.

Absolutely fantastic week of diving with Stefano, Paulo, Hugo, Pepe, and Alan! Incredibly knowledgeable dive instructors with an absolutely stunning location to get our advanced open water. They also do discover scuba with no experience necessary. Whether doing it for your first time, getting a cert, or just getting some dives in I can’t recommend Blue Sea enough!

Friendly, uncomplicated and competent. Paolo and his team look good to their guests. Safety (brevet check, partner check, briefing, material) had a high priority. the dive sites were very exciting and dived in small groups of 4-5 people. during the dive they are attentive, show flora and fauna and after the dive there was water, fruit and back at the base also coffee and cookies. only drawback: between dives you have to return to the base.

Paolo and Aga were amazing. It was my first dive in 25 years, and they took their time refreshing me and getting me ready for 2 dives. Both were exciting, and the briefs before the dive were very helpful. An incredibly organized, professional, and knowledgeable team. Thanks much!

I did 4 fun dives and an SSI Deep Dive course with Pepe. Excellent team: very professional, friendly and helpful, very well organized, yet relaxed, going out of their way to make customers happy. I can't praise them highly enough. I rented the wetsuit and regulator, both in very good shape and of very good quality. Great choice of wetsuit sizes. The boat was as good as new. I was diving for a couple of days and was able to leave my equipment in the center. Great variety of diving sites of various max depth and difficulty. All sites within  ~10 mins of boat travel, shore dives are also available. The shore (and the boat) are only a short, easy walk from the center. The center itself is conveniently located on a beach close to hotels and the office is in town. For each of my  fun dives I had a buddy from the center and this 1:1 ratio seems to be the norm. I noticed  2:1 once. Comprehensive pre-dive briefs before each dive: main route and alternatives (there can be current in some places), hand signals to select the route variant, also marine life we may see during the dives (there is plenty) is standard. In case of  the dive to Gorgonians S.Andrea which is a ~40m dive in an area where stronger currents are possible, Pepe who led the dive provided additional, detailed instructions on how the team should behave in case there was a strong current. The presence of two divers with a higher SAC in the group was addressed by taking additional air supply (larger tanks, extra tanks). During the dive Pepe kept a close eye on the location of all divers, air and deco status.  BTW, Gorgonians S.Andrea is a great dive :-) I did an SSI Deep Dive course with Pepe. It was a great learning experience, I would be very happy to take another course with him.

Our group of 4 divers had a wonderful experience at Blue Sea Diving Center in Taormina! Over the course of three days, my son completed the Open Water Dive course meanwhile our group dove at different locations around Isola Bella. We couldn't be happier with the entire experience, the instructors Paolo and Hugo were not only professional but also patient and knowledgeable. They made sure we felt confident and safe underwater and provided a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the dive center during the surface intervals. Special thanks to Peppe who’s patience expertise, and dedication during my son’s open water dive course laid a firm foundation for his future dive endeavors. The dive sites we explored were wonderful, with crystal clear waters, abundant marine life and numerous canyons and swim throughs. The equipment provided was in an excellent condition and well-maintained. Overall, I can't recommend Blue Sea Diving Center enough. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver, they offer a truly exceptional diving experience.

It was a very nice dive, if a tiny bit cold haha, and we saw so many things! (Seahorses, an octopus and very many swim through caves!) I had an amazing experience with Paolo when booking the dive, which worked perfectly even though it was a spur of the moment decision! Pepe was a wonderful guide and I felt very safe for the entire dive. I would absolutely dive again here in the summer when the water is a bit warmer haha. Highly recommend this place. Even if you're a weak swimmer, snorkelling was made easy because our instructor was very accommodating. Everyone is so friendly. Sessions are very reasonably priced.

Had a great experience for my first dive. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. The dive instructor did a good job preparing me and gave me many tips and advice. The dive itself for a beginner was excellent and had a lot of cool reefs and fish to see. I would recommend for future travelers. I also got some cool picture taken that I can’t wait to see. Highly recommend, thank you for the great experience!

A cute little baroque church and surprised to see a decorated antique car outside. Inside of the church is clean and simple and seems that very little maintenance was done.

Have a look inside, it is worth. On the backside is the Odeon, go take a look!

Ideally loved this little church that is not getting the attention it deserves. People (tourist's) are focusing on more "popular" object's, meanwhile this church can be considered as a hidden gem. At least, normally it's not packed, so visiting is effortless. Well worth the time and attention.

It was so amazing to learn the story of the Miraculous Medal and to see the place where Mother Mary gave this medal to Sister Catherine. When I was a child, I received the Miraculous Medal from a priest but at that time I didn't know the importance of this medal and how it changed the life of many people who asked the Virgin Mary for help.

Beautiful church!

Skip the crowds that White Lotus brought to Isola Bella, and walk the extra 5 minutes to get to Lido. You can reserve your beach chair, get drinks to your spot and pop up to the rather delicious restaurant overlooking the sea. Save for some aggressive pigeons, this place is an underrated gem that allows you get that beach day in that you crave. Sicilian Pizza was delicious, as were the Limoncello Spritz.

Fantastic little beach club! Clear water, nice grainy stone beach, seventies look and feel of the sun beds and umbrellas. Friendly and attentive staff and good food! Pizza and cold peroni on the beach is unbeatable! Surprisingly pricey though, for the sunbeds, 50€ for two beds is too much in my opinion. But if that’s your budget, then Lido La Pigna is just that low key, rustic seventies style taverna beach club to try out! I recommend it absolutely!

I’ve been visiting Lido La Pigna for years and this place deserves 5++ in every category. The Lido Is breathtaking, the beach service is 5 Stars! The food is 5 Stars! I highly recommend eating at the restaurant where every dish is absolutely fantastic and priced just right. Honestly some of the best food in Taormina.

Really nice little restaurant with a stunning view. The beer is pricey, but the food was great. If you like fresh tomatoes and garlic, try the Bruschetta pizza!

Beautiful setting, complete menu. Quiet service. We came to enjoy being seaside without sitting on the pebbly beach. WiFi's a little wobbly but good enough. 50€ for an umbrella and two chairs. 5€ for a couple of cokes and the same view, sounds, air from the restaurant.

Very nice restaurant by the beach with a very nice selection of wine and tasty local food. Great service. The staff overcharged me 40 euros and drove all the way back to the hotel to reimburse me. I had not even noticed… super nice

Loved our day at La Pigna! Service was friendly and efficient and the beach is beautiful and typically Italian in its style. We had breakfast on our sunbeds - they serve a great cappuccino and toasted sandwich. And we had lunch at the seafood restaurant tucked away at the other end of the beach. You get access to showers, changing rooms and clean toilets when at La Pigna. We also used their shuttle service. Just make sure you book as they were turning lots of people away on the day we were there.

We stopped here after visiting Taormina for a few hours. This was well worth the effort. Our kids enjoyed the beach while we had some great food and drinks. Be careful of the jellyfish in the ocean, Other than our niece being stung we had a fantastic afternoon and had some delicious food. Also the restaurant gave her some cream to help with the sting which was very nice of them. Overall this capped off our afternoon and it was a perfect day.

Beautiful spot, but food is very average. Disappointing to be served packet pasta and a well undercooked sausage. Sun beds are great, but eat somewhere else.

Lovely place we came back to every day we spent at the beach. Firstly, they had a great deal with our hotel (Villa Gaia) where they brought us there and back at various times throughout the day for €15 pp which included sunbeds. The workers were very friendly and helpful despite some of them not speaking English fluently. The restaurant served very good food (we can only speak for seafood secondi, though), which considering the location was great value for money. Would heartily recommend!

Only a four because the view is not as good as the islabella. It is cheaper though and very relaxing. Food is good and staff are very helpful.

Nice beach, too many dogs, horrible service at the restaurant. They really treat foreigners badly. We booked a table few days in advance and got not the first line even though it was free. If you want to enjoy don’t come here.

Friendly Staff, sunbeds and ubrrellas are not expensive. There is definitely too much cheese on pizza.

I’m very disappointed of few things. First the dogs and the owners who very often do not respect some basic rules. Dogs jumping on the sun beds and convey the need everywhere also on the other people bags and sun beds. Second the food which was given in the deluxe version- gnocchi cooked way too much - I would expect something better while eating pasta in Italy - of course I understand that this is a cheap meal included in the price but doesn’t need to be without the taste. Another one is the toilet- only one toilet for women for all lido!! I wait over 15 min in the line. On top not really friendly stuff especially the reception with a big dose of arrogance - in case you don’t speak Italian - stuff likes to makes comments about the guest in Italian - unfortunately I understand Italian.

Bad experience and pathetic reaction of the “head waiter” pretending not to understand anything but Italian (not English, not Spanish, not French, at all, nothing according to his words) when we kindly asked for a table in first line, as there were 2 available, the place was almost empty and kitchen was closing in less than 30’. But then he comes and assists us for the menu in English 🙃 haha. The place looks good and food is normal. Rest of the staff are kind.

A small quaint church built into the rock and oozing charm. The legend is that a shepherd was in the grotto here and had a vision of the Madonna and child. The church has some exposed mosaics and an original drawing over the Altar. The main reason to visit, is the view and the spectacular walk up there along steps from Taormina Town centre, with statues along the way. The view includes the Greek theatre and Taormina. It should be on route to the castle but that is closed and the path is blocked beyond the church. A must do if time permits. The best time is as early as possible or at Sunset.

Really worth the "hike" (you have some steps to climb, but it s really worth it, the views are really beautiful over the city, teatro antico and the sea), the little church is really special, carved into rock (the ceiling) and nicely decorated inside. Also, if you go round it, you have a really wonderful view of the other side of the mountain, with Etna and the surroundings (it reminded me of the old postcards, really recommend it) and a drinking fountain, so you don't have to worry about getting dehidrated.

Such a cute and unique little church - different to most of the ones you see around Sicily. It was a heatwave when I went so I waited until 8pm to walk up the stairs and it was still gorgeous at sunset. Only a few people were around so it was quiet and not touristy. It was enchanting at the top.

Worth the walk, try to get there during the sunset its amazing. Bring a bottle of wine, go to a good viewpoint and enjoy!

Most beautiful little church, go by bus, car or walk but GO. This is the most charming thing you’ll see in Taormina. (we walked the stairs up and walked back on the road, we are 74 ans 71. )

Very friendly Host! Nice place to stay, clean, comfy, the bed/mattress is great, we had everything we needed. This is located in the center, Close to everything you want to See or visit, plenty of restaurants and pastries near by and what I love the most was the smell/ "the parfume"of the hotel. It smelled great from the lobby to the room! Lovely

It is a good idea to hike up the mountain to see this strange church built in the rocks. The view is definitely worth it. The hike is not too difficult, I saw young but also older people make it to the top.

A short walk along the beautiful steps and a magnificent church on top. Great views of Taormina and the blue sky and waters all around.

Worth it for the views of Taormina below alone!! The altar built below the rock projection is interesting to see regardless!

Such a beautiful place for an evening walk. There are hundreds of stairs to climb, but the view is breathtaking. We went with 2 small kids and they were delighted.

About 20mins hike then reached the tip from the bottom entry. Lit a candle for making a wish.

Beautiful romantic looking church. When we were there there was a huge wedding ceremony so we couldn't go in to see. It stands right outside the central piazza and has a great view of the sea.

Corvaja Palace, which is located in Piazza Badia at right angles to the church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, The origins of the palazzo incorporate an early Norman fortress dating from the 12th-14th century, which in turn was constructed on Roman foundations. It was subsequently added to over various periods up until the 15th century. Its main body is an Norman-style tower, and it has an inner courtyard where the Gothic influence can be seen in the arched windows and doorways. A 13th century staircase leads up to the first floor and an ornamental balcony which overlooks the courtyard. In 1410, Corvaja Palace housed the Sicilian Parliament.[1] It was renovated in 1945 by Armando Dillo, and as of 2009 it is the seat for the Azienda Autonoma Soggiorno e Turismo.

Would absolutely recommend a holiday in Taormina, Sicily. A fabulous place with lots to see.

Taormina was beautiful and the view amazing. We didn't go in the palace. We were too early.

An amazing touristic place to go with family and friends. It's an mesmerizing place with an amazing view of the sea from a high altitude! It's a bit rustic with all the old churches and Duomo! There are narrow pagans which will lead you to restaurants and hotels. Give it a visit and have fun!
