Old fashioned park with a boating lake, cafe and very friendly staff. We went to see the sea battle re-enactment which was fun however it did rain heavily- but the show continued! Our dog was allowed to attend although there were some pretty large bangs. There is some very nice music from about 2:30pm which kept us entertained until the battle started at 3pm and lasted about 40 minutes. The commentary helped us understand what was going on! Cost £4.50 for an adult ticket.

A lovely place to walk around and have squirrels, ducks and geese following you round just incase you have food. Plenty of different walks and interesting things to see. Parking is in a PAY & DISPLAY car park opposite the park entrance and the car park has PAY TO USE toilets. On our weekday visit in October none of the facilities where open (peddle boats, cafe and island walk).

Lovely Park with lots of interesting areas of garden and ponds ro explore. Various birds and squirrels all around. Park is dog friendly, but need to be kept on leads at all times. There is plenty of seating located throughout as well. There are paddle boats to hire and cafe on site too. Would recommend a visit.

One of the most beautiful and characterful public gardens in the UK. The Japanese influenced style gives a very quirky feel to the park. The rows of lights around the lake add atmosphere to evening walks. The island in the middle of the lake provides more Asian themed gardens. However, it is the walk through the Glen that is truly beautiful. As you walk past the boating lakes and along the side of the stream you will pass a large array of ornamental trees and interesting sculptures. The squirrels beg for nuts and the waterfowl follow you in hope of birdseeds. The Park also has a cafe and putting green, but it is the naval warfare that is the main entertainment attraction. However, the peaceful surroundings and ornamental beds are what make Peasholm Park a must visit destination.

Lovely park with various activities to use. The queues were quite large when we visited so we just walked, which was beautiful. There was live music and singing from the island. Seating available inside the cafes, ice cream booths, lots of outdoor seating and toilets. Beautiful lighting when it starts to get dark. We shall definitely be coming back with a picnic, beautiful park.

Calm and tranquil place, nice to walk around and have a picnic or use the cafe on site! Close to the beech if you fancy heading over there too! I would happily come again with the family. The pedal boats are cheap enough. All the staff we encountered were friendly. Nice walk, lovely scenery and everywhere was clean! Great spot for couples and families. This was a highlight for visiting Scarborough.

We were in a bit of a rush. But we entered the park for a quick in and out. It wasn't to be so! This park is simply amazing! We spent sometime boating. We had 30 mins but cos we had a train to catch we finished it in a rapid fast pedal 10 mins ☹️ We had a quick visit to the water falls. The place looked stunning and we so wish we had more time. Definitely coming back again!

Love this place. I have such fond childhood memories, and I'm so glad that 30 years later it's still as beautiful, if not more so. The walk around the park is lovely, with the Japanese inspired decor. I highly recommend visiting the Naval Warfare display, it's absolutely brilliant for the price and so much fun. The pedalos are a brilliant way to explore the park and island too.

Wow! Such a stunning park with a strong east asian influence. We went on the boat ride which worked out £2 per person (there was 5 of us.) We had 30 minutes (roughly 3 times) to spend going around the inner island. The tree trail was a nice walk around the pond areas and cool interactive games which was labelled on boards - you have to use your phone to play. I would highly recommend this place

Great park, pleasant walks through the park next to the meandering stream underneath a canopy of trees. Lots of wildlife, a variety of birds, squirrels and lots of waterfowl in the Lake area. There is a cafe a putting green, swan boats and an oriental garden. Well worth a visit.

Highly recommend visiting here! A tranquil, beautiful walk. Spent hours walking around and admiring the numerous waterfalls and greenery. Went with our toddlers and the dog and they all really loved it. Lots of squirrels & birds. A truly magical place. Will definitely come back here

Such a great, unique and fun filled place. Theres a kids 'Go Ape' style experience, mini train, water slide/log flume type ride, a stage for concerts, cafes, food, dragon peddle boats and a massive Oriental themed gardens display to walk around. Really cool place

A wonderful park based on the willow pattern on plats cups etc. Japanese garden and bridges, with pagodas etc. Very nice cafe with seating inside and outside with friendly staff. Great food and drinks. Boat hire. Rowing and dragon pedlows. They have special boat battles on at different times of the year. Lots of dog walking with plenty of wast bins. Lots of birds to spot plenty of seating around the park. A real must see place.

A really pleasant place with beautiful woodland walks, great dragon peddle boats for the kids and unique Chinese architecture. There are brilliant wood carvings along the tree trail. There is also a decent cafe, mini golf, and the Scarborough North Bay Railway very close by. It’s also great at night when the park is lit up. Very clean and tidy.

We visited 3 times and not for good reasons. My daughter was desperate to visit the Japanese garden on the island, she’s autistic and loves anything Japanese. The website is very vague. We live two hours away and was in the area on holiday, so I thought it was a perfect time to go and visit. The first time we tried to visit there was an event on and the island was closed. We saw no notices or times of when the island would be closed. The second time we visited it was 5 in the afternoon and the island was closed. We noticed it had opening times are between 10 am and 4 pm the sign saying this was hidden behind a closed gate. The third time we visited. We were successful and managed to get onto the island. When we reached the top of the hill the garden wasn’t quite what we expected and wasn’t very well maintained even though my daughter absolutely loved it.

A great place for a gentle peaceful walk. Hundreds of tame squirrels who will take food from your hand, plus the usual ducks, geese, gulls etc. Lots of different routes to explore - some gentle, others quite steep. There's a WW1 cemetery with an interesting story behind it, and a Secret Garden at the top of the park. A lovely café and free toilets, which were clean and in good order. Note - some of the steeper paths have steps and will be inaccessible to prams, wheelchairs etc.

A lovely valley walk with little boating lake at the base. Very pretty, easy to navigate around. Some hills in the back section of the valley which makes wheelchair use a little more challenging, but you can navigate around without the use of steps, and can cut the walk short and remain on the lower part of the park very comfortably. The main island is not accessible by wheelchair users. To access the bridge to the island you need to climb 2 steps. We loved the Scarborough Fair Illumination installation they had - first year 2023! Beautiful. Great in all seasons. Lots of squirrels! 🐿️

Had a lovely walk on a beautiful February morning around this park.The wildlife was out all around the area, and I have never seen such tame squirrels.If you take some food, they will literally eat out of your hand.A really great way to pass some time with your children that doesn't have to cost you a penny.Parking is just at the side of the park entrance,with toilets there too.Mini golf available too although you have to pay for this.A little hidden gem to Scarborough that I am glad I discovered.

A beautiful area to walk around or take a boat ride. Nice cafe onsite which has lovely views looking out over the park

Winter stroll through Peasholm Park .. obviously lost all its summer colour , the little ponds and waterfalls weedy but due to winter winds and low maintenence expected and everything was closed but was pleasant enough. Plenty of wildlife from Swans to an array of ducks , Squirrels to rats ... Placid Squirrels, especially friendly if you grab a bag of peanuts to take with you ... Worth a wander round if in the area ..

What a great place to visit with kids in the holidays. Despite to poor weather on the day we went we loved it. Staff were lovely and very helpful with questions. Lots to see and activities to do for the children. It was busy when we went but not so over crowded it ruined the experience. We especially enjoyed the look out area where we were provided with binoculars to look out over the Scarborough bay to see if we could spot any sea life. Which we did. Definitely worth a visit with the kids.

This was my first time visiting the sealife centre and I absolutely loved it. There were some amazing displays. The kids absolutely loved handling and rescuing the ‘turtles’. The experience of holding some anemones and shark eggs was brilliant too. The toilets were super clean as well! The only reason for knocking off one star was we weren't aware of any talks / shows happening. If we had a schedule of them would have been super helpful. None the less a lovely place.

Visited with my husband and 5 year old son. We had a fabulous 3 hours wandering round. My little boy loved it. The place is spotless, all the sea creature tanks are clean and the staff are extremely approachable and friendly. The talks are great too. We got 2 cappuccino's, bottle of Dr pepper and 3 chocolate bars and it was just over £10, so pretty reasonable and it was Costa. It cost a couple of pounds more entry on the day rather than booking in advance too. Little shop on way out, little pricey like all these kind of places. Overall would really recommend.

Took my 6 month old and she really enjoyed seeing such variety of sea life. The staff were great with her, especially Maria. She gave her a little medal. Very sweet. I really enjoyed myself too. Lots of Information about the sea life and a great day out.

Amazing aquarium 🐟 the design of the building was fascinating and there was alot to learn. A wide variety of fish and animals for everyone to enjoy, penguin's being my personal favourite 🐧! Loads of interactive boards and displays which was very entertaining. Spent a good couple of hours there and highly recommend to anyone who loves nature and wildlife !

Great place this is my second visit on unfortunately couldn't walk in with the penguins as we did the first time . Not really sealifes fault they are only being safe . But it made us sad . We still managed to get great photos and see them up close. They have a lift to upstairs great for for the less mobile to go to the cafe.. the seal kept on showing off while we were watching all the sea life looked happy and well kept. 😀

The staff are lovely and knowledgeable. There's a wide variety of animals to see and loads of exciting things for kids. I will say, it's a little pricey. I get that its to care for the animals but the high price point puts me off ever coming again. I think it'd be better to lower the prices a little to encourage returns. Also you have to pay for parking, which the staff were apologetic for (not that it's their fault) but just make sure you don't get caught out

Was impressed with this place as it had seals penguins and otters that you could get really close too best sea life I have been too and I have been to the one on the Mersey, Blackpool and the best one is Scarborough so far

We'd walked along from Peasholme Park, and ideally, if you're not a walker, drive here. It's extra to pay on the day and was shocked that our 15 - and 16 year-olds were classed as adults. An expensive outing. Very informative and good displays if able to absorb it. A costly walk otherwise

Highly recommend visiting this place with ample time. My toddlers loved it and they have a station where visitors can touch certain creatures and their eggs. Would definitely recommend purchasing the tickets prior to arrival.

What an amazing place to see different sea creatures. I took my brother and we absolutely love it. It's a decent size with many different sections and the staff are really helpful. My favourite part was the seals being fed. Would recommend for a family day out.

Very very disappointed! Far too over priced! £40 for 2 adults and then on top of that you have to pay car parking and it has very little options for times, £2.20 for an hour or £4.40 up to 3 hours or £7 for 6 hours and it’s hard to judge how much time to pay for. No where mentions this either. My and partner both really looking forward to going, after reading mixed reviews I agree with all the bad low rated reviews. The fish side was absolutely beautiful that’s where the good ended! Lovely fish tanks and areas for them but the penguin are in an absolute disgusting tank, can tell they have been very stress and unhappy. Space too small for what penguins need. Same for the otters and sea lions. No staff around to ask or talk too about this. All done and dusted within 30minutes and this was looking at the fish for awhile if not you could be on and out in less time! Don’t visit save your money!

I'd love to say the Sea Life centre is an amazing day out. But... There's a few areas where it could be better. If you want to know about marine life in all its diversity and specifically the life atrpund our coasts, then it's excellent. Especially for children and those "young at heart"! The cafe is fine for snacks. And that's where the improvements could be made. A similar sized cafe can do actual meals, at least something more exciting! The gift shop is very expensive with a poor choice. £15 for a plush toy. Buy tickets online for a small discount. Don't get the guide book unless you're visiting for the first time with children under 12. It's £4.50 and just not worth it, in my opinion. The car park is large and has spaces for disabled parking. But it's under 3 hours or under 6: and that's £7! If you want quality time at the Sea Life then it's an expensive do! So, in summary: Sea Life centre is good, but not outstanding.

Excellent day yesterday celebrating my Daughters Birthday she really enjoyed looking at all the fish, jellyfish the Otters were super cute and the seals highly recommended going great day out for the kids

Our experience was okay, a little underwhelming, perhaps. We liked the friendliness and engagement of the staff, accessibility of the exhibits for children and the high levels of interaction. We disliked the ticket purchasing arrangement, trying to prebook tickets whilst next to the counter is a faf- please just make it the same price to buy on the day as it is to prebook on the day. Time around for us was 1hr 30 Inc the seal talk- (a little frustrating that you can only buy car park tickets in 1, 3 or 5hr increments (machine accepts contact less payments). Glad it wasn't busier when we went, some areas tight for space inside. All in all an okay morning out, fair value (£45.50 2 adults, a 1Yr old and parking).

We visited using Merlin annual passes, so for us, it was a cheap day out. It is quite small so I'm not sure how we'd feel if we paid full price. Lots to see and very well kept. Very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back.

Tickets must now be bought online, so be prepared for a long queue of people who haven't/can't buy online being talked through it be reception staff! Other than that, a good, if expensive 2 hour experience. Informative and well presented, but does begin to feel like a money grab at times. Photos taken as you go in are sold at the end, programs, food and drink, all expensive... Parking is available outside for a charge but was reasonably quiet during the summer bank holiday week. Good place to park and walk into North bay...

Visited 3rd Feb around 12pm Free parking until March, plenty spaces for the time we arrived. Only had a small wait before we could enter as we booked the tickets in advance (as I believe it's cheaper) The centre is very informative to each animal and has different zones for them. Easily sign posted for the route that takes you through each area. Feeding times for the animals are announced over speakers, albeit slightly muffled, but luckily you're given a sheet at the reception with the times on. Overall a lovely day out 🪼

Lovely visit and walk around the centre. Great talks/feeding shows for the otters, seals, and penguins. Staff friendly and helpful when asked questions. Great sections around the tanks and fish with great information dotted around. Some areas are now a little dated and could do with a bit of a refurbishment. Food Hall was a little disappointing. Staff were friendly, but tables not cleaned well, and i fell the food not worth the cost.

My partner and I loved visiting here, we took alot of pictures we loved seeing the penguins and all the aquatic life. Definitely fun for all ages.

Came with my husband and young son for breakfast with the seals. An absolutely fantastic experience and one to remember. Came in before the centre opened greeted and looked after, expertly by Chelsea who made the experience even better. Brought straight through to feed the seals their breakfast of fish followed by a guided tour around the centre before it opened. Quick breakfast sandwich in the cafe. We were then free to wander around the centre at our own pace

A beautiful walk around Scarborough, we were lucky with the weather. Free car parking until March but I didn’t know and paid my £6 in the harbour car park Was great watching the surfers 🏄‍♂️

Gorgeous beach to walk on, proper sand too. Had to be careful in some places as there was jellyfish on the sand, but other then that a good place to visit. There was donkeys available to ride for £4 a go. There’s also a dog-free-zone on the beach which means that zone you can’t put dogs on, yet there’s plenty of space for dogs to run about too. We seen quite a few having fun. Beautiful day to see the sea, beach and surroundings. Plenty to visit whilst there such as: beach shops, Ice cream Parlours, amusements & more.

We love Scarborough. We have been coming here every year for the past 7 years and my son absolutely loves it here. Although the traffic can be a bit of a nightmare some days but that doesn't stop us having fun on the South Bay...

After 2 years back for a short visit. But I love this place. Many many fond memories. Scarborough has two main seaside bays north and south bay. South bay hosts the main harbour local fishing community. Along with many amusements and food restaurants as well as souvenir shops.

Just love Scarborough always nice to visit and never really changes to be honest. It's a very British seaside town good old fashioned place which needs to be visited. Food available also ice cream etc . Just pure bliss and amazing to visit on you day of work. Ideal for the kids and also a great place to walk a dog 🐕

Beautiful stretches of beachland Very clean. Although, long walks to find public toilets. All amenities seem to be located in just one area with very little anywhere else if you just want to stop for a short while.

Why haven't we visited Scarborough before?? Our first time was brilliant, locals friendly on a busy school holiday weekend, the beach was pretty and sea looked inviting. Had yummy ice creams and visited the local lifeboat shop. The day was filled with leisurely walks up and down the prom reading local history. People were dolphin spotting, having rides on lifeboats, jet skis and speed boats. All reasonably priced. Overall we wished we could have stayed longer, Scarborough we'll be back ❤️

Just love the beaches at Scarborough, plenty to do, deck chairs available. Some areas of the beach are dog friendly. Beach is cleaned every morning.

This is a must visit beach, it was a bit chilly in May but still packed with loads of people and just a fun, bustling place to be. Even with all the people there was plenty of room for stretching out on the beach and taking in sites.

Scarborough beach is really nice all year round. Always fun to go on a beach stroll in daytime & in evenings. Lots of things to see & lots of shops & kiosks selling hot & cold food. Fish & chips & hot doughnuts. candy floss scarborough rock you will find all these things in the souvenier shops. Postcards & fridge magnets & funny hats & pictures to make you laugh & smile. You can even see the lighthouse & all the beach side hotels around the bay

One of the most beautiful beaches on our coastline. On the south bay theres Plenty of restaurants, bars and arcades as well the natural elements . If you prefer a quieter stroll or a dog walk and a cup of tea on your travels then the North Bay might suit you better. It's my place to sit and listen to the waves and take in nature

Great blue badge beach ⛱️. Lifeguards on beach to make sure you are all safe. RNLI NEAR BY. Safe and beautiful sandy beaches boat trips and lots of food and drink near by. Lots of fully stocked shops, to cater for all your needs.👍😁

Just had a lovely 4 nights break in Scarborough - fab walking along the promenade and arcades/ big wheel overlooking the beach area with fishing boats, deck chairs and donkeys all right on the front. Felt like being at the Riviera on one of the hot barmy days. Also loved the trams taking us up and down from the front and at £1.30 a go was great value for money and saved energy for enjoying food and drinks at the top x

Wonderful experience even if was a rainy day. I recommend visiting regardless of sun or rain because it’s worth the view. The staff were working hard regardless the weather conditions and this was impressive. Because of this I stayed longer. Got a vegan pizza and a vegan cake. There area a few sitting and table area on top and free access toilets. Disabled access easily. Free audio guide. I pre booked a paper guide for £4 which was super great gaining on the day and will remain as souvenir. Got a few postcards and other small stuff for gifts and keep them as memory. Once again, the price was worth it and I’m glad I visited the castle. Will return at some point and I hope the weather will be nicer. Easy to explore the castle in a half day. It’s up to everyone how they want to walk around and what peace use but i spend half day because of the rain and wind and also wanted to do some shopping in town.

The castle is quite large on the hill where one can see the surroundings. The sea looks so stunning, and cold winds make you feel refreshing and relaxed. I saw different birds nesting in there, which are very rare to be seen. Summer time is best to visit this castle and a lot to learn about English heritage.

Gorgeous views the audio guide is very informative We came to watch the knights tournament it didn't disappoint. The sword fighting Was spectacular the sound from the blows sounded painful The knights where really friendly and great with the kids signing there flags and answering their questions

Nice place to visit , not a great deal of castle to see but we had a really lovely walk around the outer walls . You can take your dog and ours also enjoyed the walk. There is an information display which was very informative and the staff were really friendly. The view from the viewing platform was beautiful, overlooking over both beaches .

Visited the castle today and must say we all really enjoyed it. The history of the castle is fantastic and have the option of a guided tour to take in even more information. The views are just stunning with panoramic views all over Scarborough. It's dog friendly and mine had a great time with a huge grassed area fir him to run around in. Pricing is very reasonable as well. We'll definitely be back again.

Never actually visited the Castle, but spent a couple of hours happily walking along Scarborough seafront. Really pleasant on a late summer Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed some fish and chips from Britain's best chippy. Next time we will make sure to visit the castle and take a ride on the famous tramway.

Scarborough Castle has it's charms & history which I don't personally think were made the most of by National Heritage, On the flip side there are lots of open spaces for the kids to run around in and the best thing about castles are they are history you can touch! You can teach your kids and make it fun. Scarborough has some beautiful views too. A day at the castle is more fun & cheaper than a day at the arcades. So make a picnic let the kids explore & enjoy the views.

Interesting place to visit and spend some time educating and entertaining ourselves with an audio guide, walking and enjoining stunning views on both South and North Bays and Scarborough city. Dogs allowed on a lead, ours enjoyed it and we were pleased, too, as there are not that many accessible areas like this. We were also watching an egg hunt for kids organised by the castle staff. There is a little museum, too. Some refreshments. I would allow an hour+ per visit

I loved the walk to the castle and the garden fortress in the top, to enjoy the birds eye view of the North sea. The entry fee was nominal and there was a beautiful church near the castle, Saint Mary, where a lovely congregation was going on in the morning! The views are great from the top however it’s really windy up there, so you gotta be dressed up for winter, even in the month of April end or so….. I am still not completely sure about the history of the castle, wish there were more physical tour guides, to understand the ruins and structures and how they came about, but overall, not bad!!

Great place for a day out. Great views from the top and plenty of history you get to know if you take the guided tour. Free for Scarborough residents a few times a year.

Lovely place, free to English Heritage members. Small but with a lot of history, nice exhibits and smashing views of the bays and town. Small cafe and seating area, also an cream van open in fine weather.

A great place to visit! Fantastic views and luckily warm weather for October. Ren gave a brilliant tour. She was knowledgeable and humorous and made the whole experience so enjoyable!

Perfect for a family day out. Even though the castle is in ruins, you can see how it’s been built up over the years if different ownership. There is a small museum on the property where you can sit inside and enjoy the cafe’s offerings. They also have a bottle warmer, microwave and baby changing facilities. If you don’t have a parking disk, you can pay to park at the church down the road. Great views of the coast and most of the grounds are accessible if you have a pram. Don’t forget to buy your tickets online as they’re cheaper than buying them in person. Child friendly and dog friendly.

Had an incredible time at Scarborough castle, entry was 7 pounds each and there was no limit on how long you can stay, you can also get an audio guide but we chose to find out own way around. There's a small exhibition on the viking and Roman settlements in Scarborough and lots more information around the site and the gift shop has lots to offer and some very good wine too. We also had a lovely encounter with a pheasant

A New Year's Day walk. Sunny, breezy and a little moist underfoot. Breathtaking views up and down the coast and a pod of dolphins playing in the sea. What more could you want? Oh, the castle is lovely too.

Beautiful views over Scarborough and the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of interesting history with a free audio tour. Great outing if you like castles and British history. Dress up warm if weather is chilly, it's very exposed.

A very amazing castle to visit, amazing cliff top views! I would recommend it to anyone and I suggest becoming English Heritage members first as there are many other great sites in Yorkshire!

A beautiful piece of national heritage and history. Great to learn about the huge number of changes the British isles have seen over the years with such huge changes in its population and cultures. A fascinating mix, and a very beautiful place to learn. My children both loved it! Aged 6 and 8, both interested in the quizzes and reading in the little museum, fascinated by the stories of the bombings, invasions,… and trying to visualize the town and castle back when it was whole. Could have more visualizations to help support deeper understanding.

Lovely place of course during summer when you can enjoy a sunny day exploring the castle and laying on the beach building sand castles and swimming. Definitely recommend

This is a really great attraction to visit in Scarborough. We took our 8 month old baby with us and he loved it (well apart from the short tunnel when it went dark but that is to be expected). There are some beautiful views of the North bay. Prices are good and when we visited in the summer time, trains were frequent (circa every 40 mins). The ride was around 30 minutes (15 mins one way). Well worth a visit

We booked a private driving experience for my dad, and from start to end was fantastic. The lads Paul and Steve were great and included the rest of the family in the experience. My Dad had a great time driving the engine up and down the track and showed us around the engine sheds. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks lads!

Lovely line with an amazing view over the sea. Highly recommend a trip, travelling behind some of the oldest working diesel hydraulic locomotives in the world!

Had a fantastic time doing the Train Driving experience. The ride was great fun and the presentation afterwards was interactive and informative, the team were very friendly 👍 Great to do with a group of friends or family.

Wonderful that in this 'modern' age, places like this still exist. A real treat and a good run along the sea front. Surprisingly smooth ride too. Friendly staff Check out the victorian boat chute, brilliant. Well worth a visit. Go on, you know you want to !

Went to Scarborough a couple weeks ago and this was something I had to do again. It was quite short in length but that was expected and was actually quite a pleasant ride. I would recommend if your visiting

Emailed ahead to see if we could lock our bikes up somewhere and they allowed us to attach to railings and looked after our bags. Lovely little railway that takes you too the beach with a nice cafe.

Lovely little trip out to the sealife centre and then back to the open air theatre. Lovely scenery on the way and really pleasant staff.

My daughter who is 6 absolutely loved the ride back and forth to the sealife centre, her dad who is 38 really loved it.😂 I could have spent the day going to and fro. We left on Triton and came back on Posidon. So next time we visit I'm hoping for Neptune and Robin Hood.

Took our grandsons on the Santa Special. Absolutely brilliant organisation. All pre booked so no queuing. Great build up before the actual ride, which was great. Several activities to do at the far end including a sleigh ride, preparing reindeer food, and hot chocolate & mince pies as well as a visit to the Big Man, who was lovely with the boys. A very substantial present before the ride back. All very relaxing and not at all rushed. All the staff were great and it was a superb experience for all of us. Great value. Well done and thank you. 😊

We had a really lovely couple of hours here during the summer school holidays. This is the third time we have visited over the past few years. The weather was a bit miserable but that didn't stop us. There is the railway, along with water zorb balls, power boats and little electric cruise boats that you can hire. There is a SkyTrail/HIgh ropes course which is fun for kids and adults. We also enjoyed the Log Chute. There is a small shop that serves hot food and drinks. Just to note that there are no toilets on site so you will need to use the toilets opposite in the car park. These cost 40p (cash and cars accepted) We would highly recommend the North Bay Railway.

Very enjoyable ride to the sealife centre where you can enjoy the beach and waterfall, a lovely pub, children's rides and crazy golf, much quieter than South Bay.

I absolutely loved this - it brought back so many memories from my childhood holidays in Scarborough. It's a fun, gentle old-style train with cute little carriages that runs between Peasolm Station & Scalby Mills. It's an open return ticket so you can spend as much time as you want at the 2nd station before hopping back on the train back to the first station. It's only a short journey (felt like less than 10 minues each way) with really lovely scenery along the way. Overall, was definitely worth it for the fun experience and nostalgia! 🙂

Visited for the first time for their claim of the biggest miniature railway in Britain. To which I think they mean the guage as it definitely isn't by length. The staff were friendly and there was no wait to board except for the timetable of trains. So trains were running every 40 mins. I presume they can run more than one train at a time if they needed to?

We always ride the train when in Scarborough but this time was special, had one of there cream tea deals and it was very nice had it on the train going to Scalby made it really special. Recomend to anyone.

Easy to book, good day out with kids. Slightly old-fashioned in places, but pools are warm. Especially the two outdoor ones overlooking the sea. Slides are great fun. But under 8s Not allowed on two of them. There's seating for spectators and plenty of parking. Easy to use lockers that are free with your wrist band. Hairdryers in changing halls. Changing rooms are unisex. Showers are separate.

It is good for enjoying with kids, but the Some of watering areas are slippery. So, the floor mat to be required to avoid slipping and falling kids. My son (3 year old) fall 2 times just because of slippery floor.

We arrived at 11.45 and went straight in. You do need to pay for parking which I don't agree with but is what it is. You are given a wrist band and you can head to the family changing rooms. All easy access and clean and lots of staff around. The pool and slides are great. There is a play area for smaller children and then you have the water slides starting at 1.10metres. You have to be 1.40metres for the bigger ones. The outdoor pools and view are amazing. You have more than enough time to swim and eat. Food was good and didn't have to wait to long. The only negative I have is the dirty tables in side. Over all a fab day and will definitely return.

Had a brilliant day here today, incredible views over the sea from the infinity pool. Slides are brilliant and not bad queue times. Family of 5 for £78 worth every penny. Place was really clean and staff happy to help with any problems. Small parking charge we paid £4 for 4 hours which was plenty. Cant wait to come back.

Very nice water park. Infinity pool is my favorite 🤩 Staff very friendly Slides are great fun for kids. Children’s water play area is very nicely equipped. Wave pool 🌊 is awesome. Kids love it. 👍

Great day out. Not cheap but worth it to keep the kids occupied. Flumes were of varying scariness. Outdoor pools were super warm. Plenty of changing cubicles and very clean. Highly recommend

I spent my holiday well here with my friends and family. Drinks are allowed in one pool and the other pool is free of drinks. The water games are very fun included and the rescue team was there at every place.

We spent a great day swimming in the heated outdoor pool. The staff was very friendly. The hall facility is well organised. Tey have a big parking space . They have multiple water slides and an indoor water splash are for kids. It is a great place for a family day out. They have bufe in the site were you can buy food ,drinks and ice cream. At the entrance you get a bracelet wich you can use for payment in the facility. They are charge it on your bank card. It is advised to book your tickets online in advance of your stay. You can choose you time slot of your visit. They have plenty of changing rooms . The view from the outdoor pool is amazing. You feel like you swimming next to the see in an infinity pool.Highly recommended x

It is a great place. We were lucky with the sun so it was lovely to spend time outside too. Although the outside pool is very warm so it shouldn't be a problem even if it is chilly! There a 4 slides - all different experiences & the queues were not too bad. We did not realise that under 6's are not allowed on the slides though - so he was pretty disappointed!But the facilities are great. Have to say though, in terms of value for money the East Riding pool at Brid is much better at £4.50 instead of £17! 😳

We had a lovely time slides were awesome wave pool really good outside hot pool amazing & view from pool beautiful. I like the wrist bands with no key they are much better to use & easier to wear lots of thought gone into these.

Great summer swim. When we had our session the pools and slides were not to busy. We were able to ride all the slides multiple times without to much of a wait. The out door pools were heated and the view over the bay was lovely. No need for lock or money for the lockers, all programmed into the wrist band you get on entry. Food and drink all reasonable.

We absolutely loved it hear! Parking is cheep changing rooms are nice and plenty of space and it's really clean! If u have a really little one be prepared to not be able to go down the slides unless u have an extra adult to mind them. Slides have one hwere u can slide alike the rest are for 2 people on rubber rings, the out door pool is lush so walm and the View was amazing! Also. ......the serve pints and can drink them in the pool 😍😍😍 oh and the wave machine is mint as well! Well worth a visit

Drinks are overpriced . Had a 6 year old with us who was told he couldn't go on other slides as he was 1 inch under for me to stand and watch smaller kids go on the same slide . Shame on the girl who just kept staring at me ... then off she went and I told my partner to go in the queue again with his son the lifeguard was totally fine and we had a lil boy smiling from ear to ear . Thing is he truly is the correct height its actually there measuring wall that isn't correct . . Its a lovely place but at £8 a cocktail which I didn't have I opted for a coffee 2 hot chocolate and 2 lucozade sport cost just under £17. Felt totally ripped off . The kids loved the wave pool which was on every 30 minutes . You get 3 hrs of fun before hitting the showers and off for fish and chips at Scarborough promenade

Fun water park. 4 intense slides, perfect for thrill seekers. Queues for the slides weren’t too long, averaging at around 10 minutes, but the 4 seater bowl blue slide was a bit longer. The boilers had broken on the day of our visit so pool water was quite cold, however we were given a voucher for full free return upon entry which is amazing. Could do with more lifeguards however, as the slides felt as though they weren’t monitored which posed a safety risk. Pools could do with a lick of paint, however it seemed relatively clean, for a water park. Looking forward to using our free return.

Nice warm clean place on entry . Such lovely girls on the bar taking our orders. Food was really nice and relatively fast. My nephew ate the lot and it was a huge plate of fish n chips.

Without doubt one of the most beautiful music halls in the UK. The Spa complex comprises of a bar, cafe, sun court, a music hall and theatre. Catering for all tastes the Spa has a vast array of tribute bands appearing along with some big names including Jools Holland. However the jewel in the crown is the orchestra, the last remaining professional seaside orchestra. Playing a New Year's Day concert in addition to a full summer season of concerts the Spa Orchestra is a musical treat. Playing a range of music from Gershwin to Bach to Strauss there is a concert for everyone. The complex also has Gin festivals, themed parties and the occasional play. Live music can't be beat....support the Spa by attending a live concert.

Great chilled out place reasonably priced good choice of food and drinks is ideal for families or meeting friends. Cheese board looked really great. Went to Dinosaur event which was really good. Other events I've been to this year have been really good too.

The Scarborough Spa is such a lovely place but it just seems a little out of place.... As though it has had an argument with the rest of the Seafront and took itself off to the far end. It was a nice walk on a summers evening and to be honest it is only the white bow fronted building that catches your eye from Scarborough Beach and makes you want to go and investigate. Some really nice buildings and a theatre make up the rest of the 'spa'.

Went to the punk weekend and cannot rate this venue highly enough. The location is spectacular on the seafront. Lots of bars and rooms for different events. Absolutely stunning building. Staff friendly and helpdul. Will definately be back.

Great venue but chairs placed where people then can't see the stage. Thankfully enough room to move elsewhere tonight but this wouldn't be the case if a sell out

Went to see snow white and the 7 drag Queens, great funny show, the staff were helpful in relocating our seats as ticket master changed our seating, we were a party of 8 for a special birthday and got separated to different floors! The seating we got was not ideal but better that separate floors, the drinks were expensive too but on the whole we had a good night 😀

Went to Scarborough for the Military weekend, fabulous day and quite emotional seeing all veterans marching past. Went the Scarborough Spa in the evening to watch a military band play a medley of songs which was brilliant. Scarborough Spa itself is a little tired but enjoyed a lovely evening of entertainment. Would still go back.

We were there on the Friday night to see the Hollies in concert who were amazing. Staff very friendly in the bar area and it was very busy. We didn't eat but the meals that were being brought out looked lovely.

Great weekend of punk music. Good venue for seeing some great bands over the 2 days. Great sound, and there is places to stand or sit to watch the bands.

We got married in the Sun Court at Scarborough Spa last week. I cannot think of a more perfect venue. From our amazing wedding planner, Naomi, to the efficient and friendly staff, the scrumptious food and fab DJ to breathtaking views over the sea and Scarborough South Bay, and even some rainbows made a surprise appearance - everything was perfect😍. Could not be more pleased or happy! Thank you!

A picturesque venue, with historic architecture and a great view of the coastline. It’s perfect for weddings or small show. There is also a good large indoor space for events, conference etc.

Went for friends' birthday and had a fantastic night seeing The Drifters. They were amazing. Scarborough Spa is a great theatre and is easy to get to. Definitely recommend the venue. Loved everything about our visit!

A nice theatre, very friendly and welcoming staff. The theatre is right on the beach front so lovely views when sitting on the terrace. A really enjoyable evening to be had there... Would definitely go back.

Interesting. The entrance is modern with automatic glass doors and there are two bars on the ground floor. It has a fabulous staircase rising from ground floor to first floor but to get to the balcony there are two flights of spiral stairs. The seats on the balcony are old plush and the rows are steep with little room for knees. Having said that, this is an old Victorian theatre which hosts a lot of shows and is a popular place. The acoustics were good and Fascinating Aida was absolutely brilliant.

I would have liked to have spent longer there, but unfortunately, it was a flying visit, but what I saw, it was a lovely. it was nice and clean. There is a small car park and roadside parking, but with it being on the Seafront, it fills up fast, especially during peak times. There was indoor and outdoor seating for when the weather is nice, but again, I would imagine filling up pretty quick when the weather is nice. The toilets are down stairs and not sure if there are any on ground level, for disabled. There are steps outside but is accessible via a side ramp for wheelchair users.

Enjoyable few hours memorising & enjoying time on some of the rides. Pleasant receptionist & other members of staff. Certain days of the week you can dance in their ballroom, also a carvery available on a Sunday at least. Snacks available other days of the week. Too much to mention so please view my 'photos. Would recommend for all ages & not an expensive day out. £1.00 pp for rides, not sure of costs for children.

There's a lot crammed in here. Old motorcycles and cars, tractors and traction engines, buses and fire engines. Fairground rides that work (extra charge to ride). Model fairground and working fairground organ. Cafe for sandwiches and cake, tea and coffee. Tea dance on a Thursday afternoon! All indoor.

We visited here during the Easter holidays and had a superb time. Hall of mirrors as you walk in kept my 6 year old entertained for ages. Vintage fairground rides were superb, including a proper ghost train! Everything was reasonably priced and the rides lasted a long time. When the rides took a break for 30 mins the organs were played - wow! I've never had an interest in them before but they are incredible. One of the volunteers too time explaining how they worked and the pipe system on the Wurlitzer. The leaflet doesn't do justice to what a great collection this is. Lovely stuff.

A great place to visit for both young and old. Started off with a very yummy tea and cake and watched the organ and dancing (highly recommend, it's a great time). Then had lots of fun looking around the museum and going on rides (only £1 a turn!). I also like that you can get old pennies to go on the arcade machines with (ask at the front desk when you go in, you get 10 for £1). The staff are what really made this place stand out however, they couldn't have been more welcoming and lovely!

Fantastic place, lots to see, lots of rides to go on, penny machines to play all different types. Lots of nostalgia to take you back some years. Lots to do and see. Wonderful ballroom dancing on a Thursday pm. Nice café with lovely staff. Old pennies to buy from reception for penny machines. Volunteers very informative about the vehicles. Wonderful for all ages. I love this place. I love classic fair rides. Ghost train, Merry Go Round, Cake Walk, Waltzers etc. There are some beautiful classic cars to see aswell. Cafe is also on site and a dance floor if you fancy a waltz.

Great day out but... Fun day out for the family on fully functioning vintage fair ground rides and arcade machines. Nicely done out, clean and tidy. We attended as a large group with 6 young children between 5 - 10 years old in the April half term school holidays at around 12 noon. What let the museum down was when listening to the organist in the main hall. The kids were 'dancing' around the dance floor to the music and the tannoy/organist instructed 'can all children leave the dance floor for the health and safety of others' (adult couples were dancing but children weren't allowed. With that disappointment and how it was announced, we left. Didn't expect that in a family venue but other than that, it was a nice, niche day out. Something for the business to think about and hopefully change.

We loved this museum. Its got loads of old vehicles and old wooden fairground rides to see. The rides open up during the day and you can go on them: an old carousel, a ghost train, dodgems, cake walk....and they're really good fun. It's pretty cheap to enter, we paid £27 for a family of 5. The old rides were an extra £1 each (per car on the dodgems and ghost train) so not much at all. There are old wurlitzers playing music and a hall of mirrors too. There's a large dance hall with live music being played and a bar and cafe too. The teas, cakes, coffees and soft drinks were all reasonably priced. The kids loved it here, the big kids loved it more!

Great place to visit as everything is under cover. The vintage rides run 1 after the other with a break for lunch around 1pm. Great collection of cars, trucks and buses. As well as a Penny Arcade. Coins can be purchased at the reception. Rides include Dodgems, Carousel, Waltzer and Ghost Train. All being £1.00. Only down side was the coffee was lousy

Absolutely amazing place, my wife and I and granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed our 5 hour visit, great nostalgia trip for us oldies and an eye-opener for the young one. Well worth a visit. Friendly pleasant staff.

An absolute little gem of a place. Full of nostalgia and a fabulous ballroom with a Wurlitzer. Cost us 27 quid for a family of 4 for entry then the vintage rides were a quid a pop. My favourite part was the mechanical organs (lots of them!!) Which were played randomly throghout the day (Big props to the chap who was runnning around booting each one up!) He even let us have a nosey round the back of one of them to see how it all worked.. Fantastic attraction!

I was very impressed. On paper this place looked as if it would pass an hour on a wet day. I was very wrong with that assumption! Lots to see and big variety. The old rides being operational and announced over tannoy before the ran was great! Rides were £1, dodgems were £2, and was fantastic to experience the older true fairground rides. The fairground music machines were amazing (and quite loud) to hear and watch. Great little cafe on-site reasonably priced with plenty of seating. Ample parking as well. We were there for just under three hours and it didn’t feel like that at all. Kids (9 & 1.5yrs) loved it and the experiences.

must-see hidden gem in scarborough!!! you can get here really easily by bus from scarborough train station, just get off at the stop called 'flower of may' and it's just a short walk from there. it's a MASSIVE collection of old vintage vehicles, penny arcade machines, mechanical organs and fairground rides!!! it's truly so impressive to see all these artifacts so lovingly preserved and many of them still operating! make sure to bring some change with you so that you can have a go on some of the rides and try out the old arcade games!!! i think the shop will give you change if you ask kindly but it's probably best to bring some of your own :)

Wow what a little gem this was. Dropped on it with a Google search. Didn’t know what to expect but it was a really good nostalgic visit. Lots to see and a really good collection of mixed items. Our little boy enjoyed being able to go on some of the rides. The cafe area is beautiful and can imagine that the afternoon teas are nice to attend. The facilities were clean and well maintained and there was ample car parking. All in all this was a well catered and value for money attraction. Would definitely visit again in the future if the collection keeps on expanding.

A superb collection of vintage machinery, and commercial vehicles, as well as the fairground equipment. There seemed to be a few classic trucks and buses missing since my last visit in 2018, but it's an absolutely amazing place. Well worth a visit.

My other half found this place and I was a touch apprehensive. It's just a little out of the way which is a positive. When we arrived it wasn't too busy at all and I think a lot of people think like me. I'm happy to say I was wrong. The lady on the desk was great and really wonderful with the kids. The place is full of antique cars, tractors, traction engines, fire engines etc. They're great to look at. They also have a little old penny arcade which is quite fun. The real winner for us having 2 little kids (5&2) was the old fashioned fairground rides. They were £1 a ride for adults, kids went free. The kids absolutely loved them. The guys running the rides were really friendly and great with the kids. Overall its an amazing place to just open your mind and step back in history. It was £9 per adult entry & the kids were free, overall about £30 for over 3 hours. My personal fave, the dodgems.... It does also have a decently priced cafe which is a bonus.

Real look at days gone by. Simple entertainment but exceedingly clever mechanical organs. Many old cars and motorbikes. Added bonus of listening to the Wurlitzer organ twice. Excellent day out not expensive. Free parking.

Love this place and great for kids. We saw the baby lambs, the kids petted animals, they did the soft play, they love the hay barn and had great fun on the sledges and other outdoor activity. For food they do a lunch box bag which is great value for money. Though for lunch aim to be there just before 12 as cafe spaces gets full very fast.

What a brilliant day out. We are currently staying in Clayton so the platform was on our to do list. I went with an 8 year old and a 2 year old, they loved it. There are so many activities for the kids to do...feeding the animals, holding chicks and Guinea pigs, indoor soft play, sand pit, outdoor play areas, hay barn. There were some outdoor activities in the paddock area, zipline, frisbee golf and go carts and a cart race. All activities were included in the price apart from some electric tractors and diggers at £1 a go. We were there for 4 hours so its definitely a day out. Loved it and would definitely go back and recommend to others.

Great for kids and animal loving adults. Nice to feed them. Food is a bit on the steep side price wise

Been here a couple times with the children at different occasions, highly recommend for a family outing. There’s handling at different times and a couple of huge play areas suitable from the smallest-teen age. Animal feed wasn’t that expensive and can actually feed a few animals with it so it can actually go quite far for what you get for your money. Also can get right close to most of the animals, we also watched some chicks crack open their eggs and see the world for the first time. Was so adorable! The gift shop has a wide selection of souvenirs you can choose from. We had a lovely lovely lady that was in the gift shop when we went the last time, she was ever so friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. Very polite! She even offered to cut the tags off little ones toy, lovely gesture to do. Whoever was on till that day needs a gold star for sure.

GREAT place for child to play, not just to visit animals, but lots of playground, both in/outdoor, car kart and farmland to play! Highly recommend to spend full day, or at least half day there.

This place is amazing. Children loved it. The staff was amazing and friendly. Wasn't expensive to get in and could spend all day here if we wanted to. Would truly recommend.

Had a lovely relaxing walk around this venue with my Long suffering wife and my mum and my dad and my loyal Guide Dog All this location is very accessible, lovely animals to interact with and really liked the cute little Shetland pony and my mate Dino the donkey bloody brilliant Shame I couldn’t take Dino home he was such a cool dude The café at this location was really good to with amazing scones Coffee was very nice too. Relaxing and to a nice little afternoon out. The lady working in the café was lovely very polite and approachable. Personally I thought she should’ve been a teacher. She sounded like a teacher if you know what I mean lovely lady please support this local venue.

Went for a visit as it was local to our caravan park, absolutely loved it. Huge soft play, plenty of outdoor stuff for the kids. Food in the cafe was great and they had proper ice-cream. Free parking outside. Think it was £10.50 a head for entry but that's really cheap considering. We spent 6hours there somehow A fair few farm animals and sessions like chick and guinea pig handling for kids. My only minor gripe is that in places there's no path, just a gravel road. Fine for walking but we were pushing a wheelchair with small wheels so it got stuck. Elsewise a great place, would go again.

A lovely farm with plenty for kids to do. Only 2 rides we paid an extra £1 for. Everything else in with price. We got to cuddle some guinea pigs too.

Absolutely loved our day out here . Loads to do and see it was a bit rainy when we came but never stopped my little one have a great time . All the animals were kept in clean spacious cages and even the chickens had some nice Wedgwood on their wooden dresser 😃. The simple idea of filling a barn with piles of straw for the kids ( and adults ) to play on was amazing . Toilets were clean .. cafe was a little dear but lovely food . Will be back highly recommended

Second time visiting whilst staying at the holiday park as we enjoyed it so much the first time around! Entry fee is very reasonable for the hours of fun the children can have here. The animals are all evidently well cared for. We’ll make this a regular visit every time we’re on caravan holidays

Lovely big farm with plenty of animals and activities to do for the kids for a wide range of ages. They had a fabulous time.

First visit to this theatre and loved it. I've been to its twin theatre in Stoke the New Vic and love theatre in the round. Comfortable seats with good views. Ease of access and plentiful facilities. Fresh water supplied. Should have booked for theatre food as it was fully booked ( good sign) as it rated in good place to eat. Excellent evening

It's a sweet little theatre,the space between seats is not the most spacious and your feet are practically on the stage. But it's not too bad at all. There's a nice selection of drinks,hot or cold,snacks.. the facilities are usually quite clean too

Excellent performance by all 5 actors. A brilliant production with such hard work put put into it. We'll worth seeing. Can't express enough the brilliance of the talented actors, all of the so versatile. Well done all of you.

We had the best experience of theater here, watching "39 Steps". The cast were amazing & we just got caught up in the hilarious story! Thank you Stephen Joseph Theatre team!

A lovely little theatre with a wide range of different shows to suit all tastes. Only one thing that could be better, the seats are really small and quite uncomfortable. I always book a seat next to the steps so I can stretch my legs out.

Brilliant 1st night performance of Jane Eyre. 6 actors performing all parts. Very true to the book. Brilliant acting, singing and all playing a variety of instruments. If you like this kind of play, I would highly recommend it.

A well run theatre facility. Fair price. Interesting professional productions. Seeing a play in the round, means you are near to the actors and audiences feel drawn in. There is a nice bar and small restaurant, also a small shop. Highly recommend a visit.

Went to SJT for the first time in quite a long while to see THE 39 STEPS....it was excellent.... an unusual take on a classic book and film. The humour was a light touch and superbly executed...well done. Being a theatre in the round, you do get up close and personal to the actors, who were all exceptional. The theatre itself is neat ,tidy... a super foyer, bar, shop, and eatery. A classic 1930s style Art Deco exterior. Well worth a visit, a great reintroduction to the theatre for us.....we're booking to see the Blonde Bombshell production in August.

Such great performances here and they do loads of brilliant sounding workshops for children. We went to see the Christmas panto of Beauty and the Beast which was just incredible. The show sparkled with humour, heart, and clever/captivating songs, catering to all ages. The talented cast infused beloved characters with vibrant energy, while the intimate setting in the round and really clever lighting and stage props immersed the audience in a fairy-tale world. Interactive segments had kids joyously engaged, adding to the fun. This really took panto to another level, it was a magical journey, leaving hearts aglow and spirits uplifted. I can't wait for next years theatrical brilliance.

Good parking and public transport, near the train station. Bar and soft drinks. Ice cream delivered to your seat in the interval if ordererd.

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is a really nice place to experience live theatre. It's a striking Art Deco building (formerly a cinema), and the main performance space is 'theatre in the round', with comfortable seats, and good views and acoustics.

We were recommended the SJT restaurant by our son as we have just moved to Scarborough. The restaurant is on the first floor of the theatre with views over the town centre. It's a beautiful art deco designed building with a welcoming reception area. We both had the classic burger in a brioche bun with fries and slaw. Delicious. The menu is wide and varied and the dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen looked great. I'd recommend the hot chocolate. We'll be going back for more.

First time at the SJT and absolutely LOVED it. Took the train from Beverley as a party of 10 including 4 aged 4- 2 to see Beauty and the Beast and we ALL had a fantastic time. The show was totally perfect for everyone, no one got bored and the performances from the cast were outstanding. Can't wait for next years! Facilities all good and prices of merchandise sensible! Thank you.

Went to see the last showing of beauty and the beast. Front row seat and had the time of my life . An absolutely brilliant experience. I can't wait to go back . Amazing actors that were really nice with the audience. Just perfect. Loved it 😀

This is always a great venue, I usually see at least 3 shows a year. There's a fabulous atmosphere, excellent performances, super friendly staff. Good range of drinks , snacks or seat down meals a available.

Wonderful to have such a theatre in Scarborough. Lot of variety with the theatre and cinema. An attempt is made to cover all tastes. Pleasant bar with polite, friendly staff. Toilets upstairs and gender neutral toilets downstairs demonstrating an inclusive attitude. Would benefit from more films, including more live streaming but overall does well.

Brilliant venue, great seating. We got into venue easily, took a little while getting out, but as is at most venues. Drinks & food not bad. Toilets were clean and they had plenty of them installed around the venue, along with additional drink stations. Absolutely brilliant night. Can't wait to get back as loved it here. We will ensure we are here a bit earlier to get into Scarborough and have dinner before hand.

What a great venue. Easy get in, plenty of facilities, great views. Slow but steady exit. Ample car parking close by and all value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

On a warm evening this place is a treat. Well managed with food and drink ordered via app kept disruption to a minimum. Good view, seating spacious and a lovely location. After over 30 years of concerts this was the first time I've ever been thanked and applauded by security!

It was the first time I have been to the open air theatre. I was impressed with the organisation of it. Seats were easy to find, there's lots of toilet facilities which were kept clean. I had a great view of the stage and the acoustics were very good for an outside venue.

Plenty of staff and security. Bar facilities were decent for such venue. Severely lacking in toilets for seated ticket holders. Standing seemed to have plenty but they were in a separate no access area. Massive queues for portaloos and no staff helping with organising it. For a venue like Scarborough OAT it’s a bit disappointing. Olly Murs & Scouting For Girls were brilliant and production was very impressive. From camera crew to lighting & sound the whole setup was remarkable. Look forward to returning for a future event.

Went to see Pete Tong Ibiza classics and we were not disappointed with the concert or venue. Amazingly simple to get in and get seated, and the sound from the stage was world class. My only gripe would be stupidly overpriced drinks and massive queues for food and bars. Over £6 for a can of cider!!! We were not in Ibiza mate,.we were in Scarborough 🤯 It won't put me off going to more gigs though, and my advice would be don't waste your time queuing. Use the service that is stuck to the back of all the seats where you can order the drinks and get them hand delivered to your seat. Saw some Extremely close calls to disturbances in the drinks queues where idiots were jumping the queue and pushing in. I think if it was a younger crowd there would have certainly been trouble, as the security guards didn't appear to have a clue. (Then again,.can you blame.them,. probably on minimum wage).

Great theatre. Went to see Mama Mia on a lovely summer evening and it was a great experience. Well organised and managed and a thoroughly good event. Not so sure it would have been quite so good had it rained but then same with a festival etc. Check what's on they have some great events

Amazing venue with great facilities good choice of food and drink and best of all ordering at your seat!! We had tickets quite high up in the white block, but the views of the stage were amazing. Very well organized with very helpful staff. We had beautiful weather so it made the experience all the more amazing. Events will carry on even in pouring rain, so you need to dress for the weather. There's no cover anywhere. It's all open air and the only undercover area is the stage.

Excellent venue for concert. Went to the recent Pulp gig. Easy access and no parking problems as there is free event parking opposite. The main negative about the venue is the ridiculous prices for food and drink inside but this is the norm these days for concert goers 😖. Also be aware there is absolutely no shelter so come prepared for all weathers.

A superb venue with standing and seating. Excellent views wherever you are with great sound and stage along with clear screens either side of the stage. Went to see The Script supported by James Morrison. Be mindful though of parking as the main car parks near the stadium and on street is likely a better option. Staff and security were great. Overall a great experience and will definitely be going back as they have some excellent acts. Check out their website.

Really great outdoor live music venue. We have both stood and been seated, I think I preferred the seated option as you get a great view (we were row B) and they do a delivery to your seat drinks service via an app. The only downside for me is the limited and very expensive food options - £26 for two luke warm portions of noodles!!

When shows are on its very well organised. Ticket barriers are efficient, as are searches and the wrist band area for standing. Views are generally pretty good and the sound is usually strong, although like any open air concert, the wind can whisk the sound away, but that's rare. The only thing that really let's it down is patchy booking (there should be more acts on each year as its nowhere near utilised enough and some acts are questionable. NDubz for example). Also the drink is very over priced. There's no need are all to be charging £6.50 for a pint, especially in the volumes that'll be sold on a night. Poor choice too. If you don't like larger, cider or wine, you're out of luck really. I'd eat before you go in too!

Scarborough tramway is very nice. I went in the tram down to the beach it was awesome. Just a quick ride down & a quick ride back up again. Very nice views of the beach from the tram. Rides are £1.30 each way which is a very good price & saves you walking down loads of stairs

Scarborough's Central line is run just as efficiently as that in London. No tickets needed – you just put £1.30 on the plate or swipe a contactless card at a tollbooth at the top, and unlike other funiculars I have been on in Britain, they do run this one fast. It has platform screen doors, which are automatic at the top station, but manual at the bottom. The top station is staffed with a fare collector & a driver, the bottom station with a dispatcher.

A great little piece of history and cure for laziness/exhaustion! Don't fancy walking down from the Grand Hotel to the beach, or perhaps you're knackered from all that sightseeing and tat buying on the beach front. Don't worry, for a couple of quid you can get this little tram . It just goes up and down, like a historic stair lift. I'm not complaining, it made my life easier. The staff are a fun bunch as well. Be nice to them, cos they're in charge of the speed of the tram and could launch you into the sea! (Probably not true)

Had to try this little piece of history. £1.30 fare. Recently refurbished and shining like a new pin. Handy if the steep streets are too much, a bit of excitement for little ones who ride free.

Can't believe we walked up the hill for day's before we found this 😂 super cheap and easy and I was really surprised how fast it went.

The Central Tramway' Company operate the Scarborough Victorian cliff funicular railway which was built in 1881 and still runs to this day, for the princely sum of £1.20 each way. Easily located as it runs adjacent to the Grand Hotel. Give your feet a break after a long day on the sands or Scarborough beach front and take this tram instead of an uphill slog on cobbled, winding streets or steep steps. A lovely part of Scarborough history.

It's great that this historic mode of transport is still operational and in tip top condion. Staff couldn't have been more friendly, cost very reasonable. Certainly saves your legs to get up that very steep hill!

Fun adventurous way of communising up and down the hill. £1.30/p and kids free. My son loved the experience. My wife who suffers from vertigo, not so much. No jolts or jerks made it a smooth ride. Lots of space for buggy’s too.

What a great little funicular railway running a frequent service down to the beach. A bargain at £1.30 each way. A perfect way to view the hundreds of Kittiwake Gulls nesting on the window ledges of the adjacent Britannia Grand Hotel.

Very quick and easy procedure to pay and board. Can pay cash or card. A little range of souvenirs at the top. Great experience and service was fantastic. The staff are very polite and helpful.

Lovely nostalgic ride for all the family that runs from 9:30am till 21:45pm and costs only £1.30 per adult. Staff are lovely and welcoming too.

Great sandy, dog friendly beach. You can park for just £3 for the day. It's quite a long steep hill down to it which is no good for the elderly, wheelchairs or really old pets either. If you can get down there it is worth it. The coastline is spectacular with Scarborough visible in the distance. There are 2 old WW2 pill boxes on the shore here too.

Cayton Bay beach is a great Yorkshire-coast sandy beach. The beach is subject to quite a large tidal surge so at high tide, the water can extend all the way to the cliffs. Don't get caught out. At low tide, there are exposed rocks on the beach, providing ample opportunity for young ones to look for aquatic life in the rock pools that forms. From end to end, the beach is about 3km at low tide and there are old ruins of concrete bunkers harking back to the 2nd world war that was intended to protect against amphibious landings. There is a nice beach cafe and the council services the remarkably clean toilets. Lifeguards mark out appropriate swim and surf areas. There are three entrances to the beach: the main one which is central to the beach and is found opposite the holiday park. One at the south-end of the beach past the local surf school and one at the north-end of the beach which runs through the small section of National Trust land. Be aware that all of these entrances have a drop of about 35m from the road down to the beach and it feels like a slog making your way back up. It is well worth it though! The Cleveland Way trail skirts around the cliff-tops surrounding the beach and provides a great view of Scarborough in the distance. Note that the beach is also dog-friendly and many dogs are on and off leash. For the most part, they are well-behaved. Cayton Bay beach is really worth a visit.

Beautiful bay. Tide was right in, so didn't spend v long here but will definitely be back! Path down is pretty steep so not ideal for older people or those with mobility issues.

June 2022. Another brilliant day out today. Went to Cayton beach in Scarborough. Had toliets and changing facilities, which was handy after swimming in sea. Quieter than main Scarborough beach. Has a very steep slope leading to bay so be mindful of wheel chairs and prams etc... I particularly liked the cliff's surface with the dotted green patches. Reminded me of a miniature model for some reason. Also saw a rescue helicopter flying above and its rotating blades stirred a whirlwind of sand in my face! Thanks rescue people for that!

The weather was not really up to a walk today but we took our chances to have a walk on a beach. The beach has a private car park (£3 a day charge) with 5 minutes walk to the beach. Very steep descent to the beach. Very private beach. Excellent for dog walking.

Can't really say that much. It was a sandy beach, it was chilly and very windy. Great weather for flying a Kite, so we did. Only saw 1 open 'shop' up some stairs at one end, though, if you needed anything.

This is a beautiful sandy beach with lovely views. The waves are popular with body boarders and surfers. There is a kiosk where you can buy hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and cakes.

What a gem of a find, this place is fantastic. A bit of the beaten path. A bit of a walk to the beach a bit steep. Well worth the a visit. Park on the side of the road for free and walk down the footpath to the beach. There is a good little snack bar come shop and reasonable prices. Could be a problem for people with mobility problems. There is a lifeguard station on the beach .

What a lovely spot. A great big sandy beach with lots of rock pools to explore, space to play with the dog, fly kites, play cricket.... Lovely Salty Dog Cafe too with a good selection of snacks and drinks. Bacon and sausage baps, sandwiches or burgers, a nice selection of cakes. And good loos too.

Lovely place, but the very steep climb back to the car park had even my kids complaining mid way through. Might I suggest stairs rather than just pavement?

Nice beach, clean and lifeguard patrolling. Seems to be popular with surfers and bodyboarders. However there is plenty of sea fun for the kids too. Dog friendly. Just watch the descent down to the beach, two ways we found to it were very steep. Toilets, food shop and surfing gear shop on or near beach

This is a hidden gem on the Yorkshire coast, totally un-developed unlike many beaches close by. The only downside is that you can only access it by a steep path and steps at the bottom so anyone with reduced mobility will need to take this into account unfortunately The beach is beautiful and completely dog friendly, and the Salty Dog cafe onbthe way back up is great, friendly staff and good snacks to give you the energy for the climb back up the hill, with a clean toilet block nearby as well Definitely worth a visit, but be prepared for the steep climb down and back and the distance the beach is from the road

Visited Cayton Bay Beach on Christmas Eve, surprisingly busy but a wonderful walk along the beach. Very steep hill. We accessed the beach by parking near the Surfing hut and then stumbled down. It was definitely worth the struggle though because it wasn't that cold, breezy but a really good time. As well as the rough sea, some stony parts are a great spot for stone hunting if you are into that! I believe it is also dog friendly as a lot of families had dogs with them. Overall, worth a visit!

Beautiful golden sand beach! Clean and easily accessed by myself and my 3 year old son, pushchair in hand. Shared a magical sunset with my boy, watching him running all over the beach, shoes and socks off, paddling in the sea! Absolutely amazing view!

This is a great dog friendly beach. There is a good car park close by with a toilet and a little shop. The walk down to the beach could be a bit tricky for people who are unsteady on their feet as it is steep and slippery. However, the beach is worth the walk down to it. The beach is flat and sandy. On the right day, it would be good for surfing and body boarding. If you like hunting for sea glass, there are some great bits to be found here.

Nice to see the Italian Gardens in Scarborough being restored. Created from the former Belvedere Estate & opened in 1914, the central lily pond had a bronze statue of Mercury, presented by Alfred Shuttleworth of Red Court - but it was replaced with a resin replica in 2000. Part of the historic South Cliff Gardens which are grade II listed.

Beautiful little garden and a definite sun trap! Really well looked after and very quiet (except for the lovely sound of the waves!). Not especially easy to get to from the seafront but worth it when you do.

Good place to walk past with dog. Pretty place. Met a few dog walkers on the way round. All very friendly.

A really lovely stepped and curved garden which was well layed out with colourful beds in September when I visited.... but some steep access paths and steps!.... and sometimes Music Events there.

A nice little garden to walk around. Toilets situated next to the putting green. These are one of the only free toilets before the front so use them if you can. Free parking down the street opposite too (holbeck road). We’ve always found a space.

A beautiful garden that I'm told has been restored and maintained by volunteers since the local council has abandoned it. In fact, the council doesn't seem to care about anything in the town, save trousering the tax. There's only one toilet in the vicinity, and it appears that it's exactly as it was in the Victorian era.

Lovely gardens, not at their best mid February, but still tidy and well cared for. It was nice to see that the council (presumably) were still able to maintain such a lovely place. I hope I get to visit again in the spring or summer.

Wow what a viewing place. Lots of seats. Wheelchair or pram friendly. Cafe halfway down. Getting back up, go use the tram only £1.50 each and closes 6pm.

The so called Italian gardens along the southern half of Scarboroughs coastline is a little hidden gem, beautiful, get removed enough from the centre, the main bay, harbour and castle, that many will visit Scarborough and never see this place. There are some places in Scarborough run down, this is certainly not one of them, and there's a myriad of paths up and down Criss crossing all around these gardens which are 50 yards from the area, yet surrounded by trees. Occasionally music groups or other performances play here.

I absolutley love a morning stroll from top of Esplanade,thro gardens,until u reach the Clock Cafe,sit outside with view over sea and to left the whole of Scarborough.and u can allways find a seat.👌👌🚶‍♂️☕

Just some really calm and quiet gardens to just relax and enjoy the stunning views. Local wildlife very friendly and Squirrels will take peanuts from your hands if gentle and quiet.

Even on a cold a windy November day, stunning views. And 'ground under repair'. No bother. Toilets nearby too.

Absolutely loved the Italian Gardens on the far side of South Bay The situ and the planting on different levels are amazing as is the lily pond and statue. Lots of lovely friendly cheeky grey squirrels playing throughout x So beautiful and a lovely walk from the town centre/ beach. - a total hidden gem. Would deffo recommend a visit x

So peaceful and beautifully maintained as is the rose garden nearby. Lovely walk down the cliffs to reach it and then down to the seafront. Get the lift back up to the top. I managed it fairly well and I have arthritis in my knees but ok with my stick.

Been updated recently, lot's of money spent, appeals to all age groups, climbing play area near bottom for kids, lovely seating areas all over, beutiful scenery on nice walks.

Quite a small museum and didn’t seem to have that much on display compared to the stated number of artefacts and items. The ’explorer backpacks’ handed to the kids at the door were a good idea. Pretty fair for the entry price. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly. Beautiful building

The loveliest staff greeted us and were very friendly throughout our afternoon at the museum. There were plenty of things for children to do, including activities on both floors of the museum, colouring and dressing up. It was a very relaxed, unhurried experience which allowed my little boy to play with everything he wanted as well as having a good look round everything on display. I definitely recommend it here and look forward to visiting again

A great tribute to William Smith the unsung hero of British archaeology. Fanatic place to visit, very clean and welcoming. Lots to see and learn for children and adults alike.

Small but interesting, with fossil displays and information on local geology. History of the almost 200yr old museum is also explained. Admission is only £3 and its a great place to spend an hour or two.

Nice little museum focused on geology of the local area as well as some collections donated by the great and the good of Scarborough's past. Only £3 entry for adults and they give you a pass that lasts all year, under 18s free.

As I was quite close to the museum, I thought that I'd have a look inside . My annual pass cost £3 and it can be used for the art gallery as well, I understand. It wasn't until I entered the Upper floors that I realised that only the round, central part of this large building is actually accessible. On the day I visited, I was the only member of the public there. When I got to the second floor I was finding the stuffy atmosphere was becoming uncomfortable after a while, and I decided to leave. Can't complain because it is only the price of a cup of coffee for the annual pass. However, I'm not sure that there's enough to hold my interest in potential future visits.

Beautiful building with lots to look at. Kids did the Easter egg activities which were great and the price is brilliant and it lasts a year

An absolutely fascinating museum, with plenty to interest young and old alike. The staff are very pleasant and helpful too. The annual pass is a bargain and will get you into Scarborough Art Gallery as well, and it's a good incentive to return within the year.

Lovely, friendly, knowledgeable staff, wonderful expeience for all our special family, lots of interesting history, educational, fossils, and everything you can inmagine! Beautiful building, great gift shop section too! Loved it!

Lovely impromptu visit when fossil hunting near Scarborough. Only £3 admission which lasts a year and gives you access to the art gallery as well. Great little museum with friendly staff and really interesting talks with the volunteers. Special thanks go to Aeron and Richard for their passion and knowledge.

Very small museum but well maintained.

Incredible stories of 18th century geologists including one who fashioned new teeth for himself from ancient hippopotamus molars. Beautiful building filled with the oldest natural treasures of the earth.
