It is a neat place to explore. If you have children, they will really enjoy the tunnels and it is pretty safe as well. The entrance says 45 minute time limit, but not sure how it is enforced. However, that much time is enough to see it all though. You don’t really need to buy tickets in advance if you go midweek.

The Mother Nature give them advantages to have such a rocky place and situated exactly in the Center of the city. If you are a tourist and do not have a guide and plus you don’t speak French then it will be difficult to room around and find the spots you are looking for. The city doesn’t offer free internet or there are some spots but very low signal so you have to have your own internet. There are less signs showing ways how to access the Touristik spots , so make sure to really pre plan all the steps of your trip on your own

Cool historic place to discover and stroll through on your own. Great views over Grund. Price seems very fair (8€). A few more signs and informative texts would have helped.

Fun stop with lots of history! Sold out online for days, but tickets were available for an entrance in an hour. Busy, but they do a good job of keeping the casements not overly busy. Don't miss the side route near the exit that goes under the road. Spiral stairs carved into the rock to the left of the steps up to the exit. It is a lot of steps...you've been warned! Down and then back up.

Very lovely and impressive views of the valley from the walls at the top and from the lookout points throughout. There is fascinating and multi layered history in the landmark, having served as a fortress for hundreds of years

Very beautiful and unusual. Be sure to visit the casemates, but do not go down the spiral stone staircase if you have poor physical fitness 😁. When you joyfully reach its end deep below, you will understand that the way out goes along the same steep endless steps, only up 😄. It was a great adventure

This is a World Heritage Site. Luxembourg's old quarters and fortifications. The city itself was founded in 963 and has played a significant role in European history throughout the centuries. We came during winter so weren't able to visit the tunnels but we were able to walk around the top parts and get some amazing views of the city. This is a must if you are in Luxembourg.

The view is indeed beautiful and also a good place to get your excellent photos as well. The paid city tour bus starts from this point. Also this will be always quite crowded as it is a famous place to get that balcony view.

Great to see such a cool piece of history and imagine the soldiers and others scurrying through the tunnels when there was activity to defend.

Loved it, such a great view from there in all directions. Interesting to see what people did back then building the cellar of the castle in the mountain stone.

What an incredible site to see. The views from every spot were great. The history was awesome. It was a complete step back in time and I can't wait to go back again.

The place can be reached easily from Luxembourg station, it will drop you to the exact location, where you can easily roam around by foot & explore, click pictures etc. It has an ancient setup with information which you can read and understand. I believe you will need approx 2 to 3 hours to cover upstairs, downstairs and around if you want to cover completely and not rush but relax. When we went there the weather was a bit foggy and cold plus we had to catch our bus for Saarland within 2 hours so we rushed and did not cover full location. But I still enjoyed. Since it was November month, there were Christmas market also which all families were enjoying. Overall beautiful place with no public transport cost so worth visiting.

If you love to learn history and don’t like sunlight that much, this is the place for you. Pros: Great Views, and the permanent exhibition at the end of the walk is well-designed and quite enjoyable. Cons: frankly speaking, the walk itself is long and …not as interesting as I thought.

I want to say that I live for 3 years in Luxembourg and only by mistake I discovered that we can visit the galleries.❤️🥰👏 The entrance is actually hidden underneath the little tower from Montee du Clausen (Casemates Memorial Point). The experience was quite unique. The galeries are layered (I think) on two levels. The views over the city are special and magnificent (although in my case it was raining 🌧), because the viewpoints are unique🏞🏤. I loved also the light 💡efects inside the casemates. They give a special (modern and old) touch to the visit. You can also see these light efects 🪩 from Grund during the night 🌌. The only thing that confused me a little bit was the fact that there were no signs ↗️(or a map) 🗺 to show the direction ➡️ of the visit, so I got a little bit lost 😆😁. There were galleries that i've seen twice. I estimate that, the duration of the visit 🕑 can vary between 30-45 minutes. For me, the casemates are special and unique. I would love to see them again without any hesitation. ❤️🥰🤩

Very beautiful but quite slippery. There were a very long line but we didn’t queue at all as we bought tickets in advance, so I highly recommend to do so

Great historical place. It's a must visit in Luxembourg. It is a huge underground complex built in 1644 and was used as a bomb shelter during WWII. It's huge and amazing. Lots of beautiful viewpoints. You need a minimum of an hour to explore the place. There is one section that is not mentioned in the booklet, it can be accessed through the stairs from the iron gate room. This section was really impressive and showed the depth of it. Going through each section and understanding the history behind it was fascinating. I recommend buying tickets in advance. Tickets can be bought at the ticket counter as well but they either sell out soon or you have to wait for your time slot. Another thing is it's a bit difficult to locate the entrance/ticket counter. Do carry a water bottle.

To begin with, the current Google map location is *wrong*.. The cathedral is really beautiful. We visited Luxembourg during New Year's and we were able to visit the mass as well. The gothic architecture and pretty indoors are just something to look at over and over. They also decorated the church for the occasion.

The cathedral is just absolutely breathtaking and truest stunning. We took a walk around the grass and there was a lady playing the violin which was just beautiful. There are some statues and round the back are toilets which is 2 euros. Highly recommend to go and see.

The position on Google seems wrong as the Cathedral is right behind "Le Ministère de la digitalisation" Follow the signage on the street instead of Google and you will find it. Opening schedule seems also wrong on Google as it's open on Sunday (from 10am to 7pm if I am correct) while Google mentioned otherwise. If you aim to visit the Crypt, please note that schedules are slightly different than the cathedral. Aim for mid day and you should be fine

I cannot remember this church ever closing. Well, maybe when someone important gets married, baptized, or dies. I make it a point to stop by to light a candle for loved ones when I’m in the city. It’s certainly a place to visit if you want to cool down from the heat and don’t want to sit at a cafe feeling more warm and several euros poorer. The cathedral is clean, quiet, free, and beautiful IMO even though I do not know a lot about architecture medieval, modern, or what have you.

A very beautiful and peaceful place. The tainted glass windows are wonderful, and the overall architecture is well worth the visit. A small detail: they have chairs instead of benches. The organ looks amazing, it must be awesome to hear it play.

A peaceful and beautiful structure with many stained glass windows and large and tall inside. Take note that the location is different to where Google Maps is pointing this. It is near the City Museum up the hill. A good place to take a break whilst exploring and free entry too!

The cathedral is big but not decorated as much as similar ones in other cities. The altar is simple and the glazed painted windows attracts your eye. You cannot tour yourself when worship takes place and even when it doesn't, you should be extra careful not to disturb prayers. Do not forget to check the crypt.

Beautiful tribute to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. I was humbled to see all of the graves and to see General George Patton’s final resting place was an honor. Amazing place.

As a former US Soldier, this was a must stop. The grounds are kept up beautifully. Free parking with plenty of space. It started snowing as we arrived so we made our way into the visitor center before heading to the memorial. Staff are friendly and well informed. I highly recommend this stop as a reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.

Very well maintained cemetery, in memory of the fallen American soldiers . Cemetery is accessible via pedestrian path and there is a shuttle bus service running every hour from Luxexpo , recommended for a visit .

Not enough Stars for this! How humbling and thought provoking to walk this memorial ground! Price paid by these young men is emotionally stirring. Can’t begin to express appreciation! In these photos of my visit I found representation from each state that was at that time. A heartwarming reminder that our great Country will represent and stand! Hope we remember ultimately the Liberties and freedoms we all enjoy were once again sustained and will always be. United we stand!

This is a beautiful cemetery by the airport I'd recommend for anyone interested in world war history. You'll find Patton's grave and five paratroopers from the 'Band of Brothers' here. It was moving to be here in the winter - the same timeframe many died in the Battle of the Bulge. It's accessible by bus if you're staying in central Luxembourg, but be aware that it's about a 15-20 minute walk (see pic) from the stop to the site. Be sure to stop in the office when you enter as well as they have many details about the cemetery.

We have visited the Cemetery with our children and had the most unwelcomed feeling. Firstly we were told that the children should not run around which I completely understand and accept but then the guard followed us all the way through like we were criminals. He didn't follow other visitors (which were very few). I have to add that the children were very well behaved all the way through. I believe the children should see and be told about our history from a young age on otherwise how will they learn? Besides this, the Cemetery is a glorious place of memory, very well maintained and curated.

A beautiful tribute to the 5,000 American soldiers honored here. General George S. Patton is laid to rest here and the memorial is truly amazing. I was very impressed with how well maintained the property is and it really is a humbling experience.

I was impressed by the size of the cemetery. So many have died for our freedom. In the visitors center you can search names, get a booklet and sign the guestbook. Across the visitors center is a restroom which you can use for free. At this cemetery is the grave of General Patton. His grave faces the graves of the other soldiers. Lest we forget.

Visited General Patton's grave at Luxembourg American Cemetery in November 2023. Information regarding World War II is provided; you do not need to be an expert to appreciate this stop/visit. Parking is free and close to entrance. Would highly recommend visiting if given the opportunity.

We enjoyed our trip to the Luxembourg American Cemetery. It is a beautiful site, fit for our soldiers to rest. The well maintained property is peaceful and well cared for. We stopped in the visitor center first. They had multiple language brochures in a small but quaint well done prevention highlighting some of the individuals who are laid to rest on site. We spent an hour here, if the weather had been better, we would have stayed two hours to walk around some more. The cemetery slopes down, so remember you are climbing out of where ever you end up. We took public transportation to get there. We took the tram from the train station to Luxepo and then found the shuttle to the cemetery. That was the trickiest part. They drive a smaller van and leave on the hour. There isn't a sign and it's not on the screen, you need to go look for it and they come back about 30 minutes into the, go away and come back again. That's how we found them. It was a short comfortable drive and the van picked us up when they dropped on the hour about 5 minutes after.

We visited on a cloudy, cool, and breezy day. Perhaps, that made the experience more solemn. I was moved by the sight of the memorials and fields of grace markers, Crosses and Stars of David. It's a beautiful sight.

A great place to visit and be thankful for our freedom. This cemetery holds over 5000 American soldiers. Most died in WWII during the battle of the bulge. It also holds General Patton. He did not die at war but rather a car accident. So many here that never made it home to the USA after the war yet they fought for the freedom we have every day. Thank you to all that serve.

here you can find the final resting place of general George Patton and also if your a band of brothers enthusiast, 5 soldiers from the easy company, 506th pir,101st abd the grounds are well maintained and the visitor information center is very informative. unfortunately the luxembourg airport is nearby , so the silence can be disturbed by overhead planes taking off. there is plenty of parking and trails nearby. i do believe that there is free public transportation from luxembourg center that takes you to a stop nearby.

Everytime very impressive. Sunday 17th december I was there and with clear blue sky and those white crosses so beautiful and impressive at the same time.

These places are simply amazing. I would recommend everyone to see at least one American Cemetery in life. For me it was the second one and I was still impressed in the same way as I was the first time.

We were in Luxembourg during New Year's Day and the palace was closed hence we couldn't go inside but from the outside, the palace looked fantastic and well maintained. Right in the heart of Luxembourg City, this place reeks of history and tradition. We would love to go back in summer and visit.

Amaizing castle located in the city centre, near other toursit attractions. Easily accessible with plenty of shops all around for an enjoyable walk. The palace itself is very big and it was guarded. The biggest downside is that you cannot get a fine picture of the entire castle because of the buildings surrounding it. There are not enough space around it to catch a picture from a distance. Overall this is still a must if you’re visiting luxembourg.

Beautiful and informative walking tour. Very elegantly built and maintained, it was a glimpse in to the history of Luxembourg and the way they lived. (Not anymore, they live in a bigger castle now). The art, relics and grand interiors are fascinating. Enjoyed the tour completely with a wonderful tour guide. No cameras allowed inside.

Nice big building in the center of Luxembourg's old quarter. If you are lucky or you want to wait, u can see the ceremony of guards changing shift from time to time. Other than that im not sure theres o lot of thing to do there..

My boyfriend and I came to Luxembourg on a day trip, on a random Wednesday in June. We were just walking past the palace, observing the marching guards (which was cool in itself), when all of a sudden, they opened the doors and we were able to see the Duke (?) arrive and leave the palace in his car. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Loved being able to witness something like this! Note: we did not visit the palace, as it was not open to visitors this time of year; we only walked in front of it

The palace is open for visiting only for a few weeks during the summer. Since I went during winter we could not enter inside. It's architecturally stunning. Picturesque. The chocolate house nearby serves amazing desserts!

Beautiful place, very nice but closes too early. Right in the centre of the city. The old town is in walking distance. There aren't many places to visit in Luxembourg but this place and area around it is something you don't want to miss. The paid parking is just 2 mins away. There is a high street in about 5 mins walk which is decorated beautifully.

About 750 mts from the Hamilius Tram stop, you will find Palais Grand Ducal. It is the official residence and office of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. We walked by and admired its lovely architecture. But one can explore the palace from the inside or even go for a guided tour. Check out their official website for tour schedules, opening times etc.

This hotel is a true gem! The total experience was exactly what a 5 star experience should be. the rooms are beautifully appointed and the property is welcoming and charming. The staff is amazingly attentive and it just felt like being at home. The location is perfect and nothing is far away. Absolutely loved it!

Very difficult staff.The staff lost our card information and was unable to email us a receipt eventhough we gave them our information multiple times, and even got a translator. They make things hard for their guest, especially the important details, that modern technology has made easy.

Nice upscale hotel, rooms very comfortable and well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful and went the extra mile for us as it was a special occasion. Room service was good despite the restaurant being closed due to lockdown. Only compliant is the early check in policy - if I’m paying €500 for a night I don’t expect to have to pay €250 for an additional hour so I can check in as suits me, only place in the world I have ever encountered such blatant gouging.

Exceptional service. I came to them at midnight when I had trouble with another hotel booking and even if they were fully booked, their receptionist, Anouar, not only allowed me to stay and wait until I could find another booking but also tried to help me check nearby hotels. (note: this is one of the few hotels in Luxembourg with night shifts) 5 stars for empathy and going above and beyond including for non-guests! I have no doubt any guest would be more than satisfied to stay here.

It was a wonderful experience for our first time in Luxembourg. The staff was very kind, and we received a lot of small attentions. We loved the hotel and the room decoration. It was also very well located in the city. We ate at one of the hotel's restaurants called "LA CRISTALLERIE", and I have no words to describe this amazing experience. I will definitely recommend it!

The location of this hotel is great and it is so easy to get around the city from the Hotel Le Place d’Armes. The outdoor common areas were nice to have and it felt relaxing to sit outside. My room was next to my sister’s and I could hear her conversation with her husband from the bathroom when I was getting ready. Our air conditioner did not work the first two nights. Overall it was a quiet hotel. The hotel did charge my father for two glasses of wine that no one in our party had. I contacted the hotel twice about this, but they never responded *Just checked my junk mail too*. Disappointed with that lack of communication/overcharge.

I'm giving 4 stars because I've never stayed here but the facilities look clean, quiet and disabled friendly. The service, as always, pleasant. I ordered the Pinot Gris and mushroom omelette.

Really great location in Luxembourg. Trams are all free. If you arrive by train at Gare Centrale take Luxexpo tram to Hamilius stop and them a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The staff are really top notch at advice and recommendations. Avoid room 'Cour 1' unless you like a split-level suite with the bed on the top floor and the WC on the bottom floor. Poor to no wifi in the bedroom of that room.

I met a member of staff outside of staff hours who did not know who I was, we were looking to hire bikes and he, Sebastian was exceptional, says a lot about a person. Could not be more helpful. Food and wine was all I could ask for……. would highly recommend this hotel. Really looking forward to returning.

omg this hotel is amazing! It was chosen and booked by my boyfriend as surprise and it was our last night (a stop over on the way from our holiday in Italy) back to NL. It all felt luxurious from first minute when you arrive in front of hotel and the clerk comes out immediately, greets you very personally and valet parks your car (35€) We had room 30 - it has beams and high ceilings and overlooks the square- no noise at all though and omg the design/ layout of bathroom and the cosiness of everything… mmm I felt like a true princess! In the morning i found out this hotel is part of Relais&Chateau Group - and this building is originally an 18th century publishing house. The architectural details are amazing Breakfast was a bit on an expensive side, but amazing quality products like fresh juices, very nice bread, godly cheeses. Only thing is that staff were passing by our table many times without clearing dirty used dishes (they take a lot of space on small table) but other than that service of concierge and reception was great! We come to stay here again. Was a cherry on the cake of our holiday

The museum has a great selection of modern & contemporary art! It was very quite when I went so it was calm a relaxing while I enjoy walking around the museum. I believe it is a bit new so it could be have more pieces but I guess they working on it

The building itself was very beautiful and well designed, the art was okay but there wasn't a huge variety on the art itself. I would recommend if you like modern art but if not then you can definitely skip it. But the building itself was amazing.

Maybe this place was not for my taste. Maybe I am not that much of a Modern Art enthusiast that is required to enjoy this place. We visited on a rainy afternoon and the place was pretty empty. We had really high expectations as we are so fond of art museums and try to visit them whenever we can. There were installations, paintings and photographs to describe different themes. Some of them I liked but for the most part, I felt out of place. Especially when it came to the paintings. There were four acts and they styled them in different colors. The 'tears come after laughter' was good. But for the rest, I rest my case! There was a photograph of a ' White Stool' that I didn't understand the significance of.

While the exhibition is dubiously overreaching, entry is free for students always and for all on Wednesday after 18.00. Plus, the architecture is a bliss.

The building itself is so beautiful, it’s huge and the entrance to the museum is captivating! We enjoyed our time here, however I did feel there was a lack of use of space - the building is so huge but a small fraction of it is used for modern art pieces. That was our only concern. On the other hand, there was a drop-in workshop we could attend which was really fun and I really loved that there was something interactive for us to do. This museum is great for modern art lovers!

The building is better than the content of the museum. No real masterpieces seems to be mostly local artist with an exhibition on some Caribbean modern artist. The building is better than the content of the art. The art in and of itself was pretty disappointing. Prostate euro was it really worth it. I would not return if I was never going back to Luxembourg. The architect was the same gentleman that designed the pyramid at the louvre. The architect was certainly more talented than some of the artist on display.

I recently visited the Mudam for a Sunday afternoon and while the current art exhibition didn’t entirely resonate with me, the museum’s stunning architectural design more than made up for it. Not only is the building a modern marvel, but the brunch offered at the museum’s café was a delightful surprise, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. It’s a great destination for anyone looking for a mix of art, impressive architecture, and good food in a relaxed setting.

The building is stunning and has an awesome architecture, blending modern design into the historical Luxembourg fortress. The museum itself was very nice, €8 for adult ticket but free for students under 26. Also had free lockers to rent. The cafe was nice too but of course on the pricier end like most museum cafeterias. I still recommend grabbing a drink there though, and enjoying the ambience for a bit. There were not a lot of exhibitions on display, so we went through the art fairly quickly (maybe an hour or two?). The Peter Halley exhibit was really cool! We went on a Thursday afternoon and it was very quiet, saw a few school groups but for the most part we had almost every exhibition room to ourselves lol. It would be nice if they had more benches on the top floor though, so you can relax while enjoying the artwork. There were beanbags in the Tourmaline exhibit, which was nice. Another big plus is that the art descriptions had English translations 🙏 overall I had a good time here and saw some cool modern art

A stunning place to visit. You may need at least one day to review the whole gallery, it's so missive. Make sure to look for the opening hours and of course you need to buy a ticket around 8 Euros. The modern art is amazing to observe. If you're a photogenic then this place is a must visit since they're plenty of beautiful places to capture. The interior is always bright during the daytime because of glass roofs. Als a whole there are 3 floors with many arts to observe. A café and a shop is also available inside the museum.

A very nice building with loads of glass windows and walls covered with marble. But the museum is, to us, not interesting and I am surprised that there are nothing of interest to see here in April 2023. Loads of beautiful walls, but empty. Whereas the girl at the reception was very friendly, all the security guards were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Sad. Why don't they fill all these walls with some interesting art????

During my visit, I must admit that my expectations for panoramic views were not fully met. It's worth noting that my trip coincided with the summer season, and ongoing construction work may have obscured some of the vistas. Despite this, I remain optimistic about the potential for a more gratifying experience during a different season or, ideally, in the tranquil moments of early morning or evening. I anticipate returning to La Passerelle to explore its scenic offerings under different circumstances.

Very beautiful walk, kind of crowded at times, but nice and peaceful.

If you want to enjoy gorgeous views and a serene setting make sure you first cross this bridge then head down one of the many trails that leads down to the valley floor. The walk thru the walking trial is gorgeous. I happen to visit in November so was able to catch the multi color changing leaves from its summer greens to its vibrant yellows and reds. You also get Greta views of the cathedral as it looms beautifully above you. This is definitely a worth the walk, don’t forget to grab yourself a warm mules wine if visiting during Christmas time and stroll this scenic pathway

Icon of Luxemburg old town. It’s so beautiful and calmed place to take pictures. You will have a nice panoramic view from there. You can walk on the upper way or inside.

Beautiful place with picturesque views. Wonderful structures placed at varied terrains. One can truly witness the architectural skills contributed by Romans. Arches, bridges, vaults and many more. It's a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.

The bridge , the river under, Notre Dame Cathedral on one side and the city center on the other, beautiful views of the city , a war memorial and the spirit of the truly majestic city dawns on you ! A MUST VISIT , walking around is the best way to experience this place

Went to see the Christmas market, which was very nice, but also very crowded. The view from the railing is so nice.

Enjoying the hot Gluhwein at one of the biggest at Christmas Night Market, Luxemboug. Served in an attractive ceramic mugs. They charge you 3 euro deposit apart from the drink cost to make sure you return the mug. I preferred paying 3 euro and took it home as a souvenir. It was an experience. Must visit Christmas night markets in Luxemboug.

The view from the top is breathtakingly beautiful. However during the peak of summer the temperature can soar quite high! One can also visit the below city not only via stairs but also via lift. The top tourist attractions here are just a stone throw away from each other, the golden lady, cathedral notre dam and the Europe’s balcony. One can also walk around the region as it can be best explored over foot!

It is spectacular despite the fact that I and my family were in December, we spent December 31, very still, few fireworks 🧨 that we experienced on our Island of ARUBA, a very beautiful city and also very clean, I am very grateful to God for give me the opportunity to get to know Luxembourg and spend the end of the year there.

Take it again at the same stop (i.e. on the same side of the road) to return to the car park. The shuttles are also free.

Fantastic way designed Christmas theme. Sacred place, but also a good place to relax located at the heart of Luxembourg City downtown. Golden lady shines all the time. Very nice gathering during Christmas events. Few rides attracted the kids.

Good place to visit

Constitution square is more than just a square with flags. It sits on the edge of a valley, seconds away from the city centre. The area consists of the square filled with memorials and sculptures, with a flight of steps leading down into a valley that is essentially a park with a river running through it. There is also a giant observation bridge that you can walk through below road level. We spent a chunk of New Year’s Eve here then returned at midnight for the new year. Great retreat for those seeking peace from the busy hustle and bustle of the city centre. Great for fitness, rebalancing or just chilling out.

A nice square filled with restaurants, cafés and a few hotels with bars/restaurants. You can have a rest at the benches around the square, and enjoy an ice cream. If you walk around the city centre, you will pass this square quite often.

While it's a decent statue of this historic figure who had a footprint in Europe and the UK, it will be far better once the construction work around the site is completed.

Very central place. Since renovation more terrasses are available. Also we hope more events like open air concerts or open air cinema. On some week days a market is held.

There aren't many places to visit in Luxembourg but this place and area around it is something you don't want to miss. It is a beautiful square with many restaurants around. There are many other places on walking distance. The palace is also about 5 mins from here. The paid parking exit is on this square. There is high street next to it which is decorated beautifully.

Great open place for gatherings. Has underground paid parking UpTo 5 levels. Many varieties of restaurants are around the place.

Pretty square with a nice statue to the former Grand Duke and King of the Netherlands. Lots of nice architecture as well as cafes shops and restaurants. Nice to pass through on a walk from the cathedral to the Grand Ducal Palace, as it’s in the center of town. Was under renovation when I went the second time more recently but this should be over and the place will be very attractive with a new facelift I’m sure…

Beautiful place to visit. One of my favourite spot to visit every time as I'm in Luxembourg. Must have to see. If someone like to get walk-sightseeing around the city it is a good point to see for trip around Luxembourg.

The main attraction seemed to be closed due to construction works, but restaurants were open. There are benches under the trees just in front of the restaurants. So if you don't want or can't afford the restaurants you can still open your own meals and enjoy the same view :))

Perfect for a date on a rainy afternoon. Due to time constraints, we only managed a brief stroll through the top floor, where the paintings were located. However I could imagine spending a few hours here exploring each floor. *the entrance is free.

In my 5 days stay in Luxembourg I went to 5 different museums, and this was my favorite! I went on a Wednesday evening when the entrance for the entire museum was free. This has got to be one of the best thought out and well planned museums I have been to. The way it was structured just made sense. The lowest level starts with prehistoric artifacts, while the highest level ends in contemporary modern art. I stayed an 1,5 hrs but could have easily stayed longer. If I could visit only one museum in Luxembourg, this would be the one!

A good place to visit. Also I visited this for free so it has nice things to display and people can visit it free of charge. I would recommend going there once. Do not miss out the lower two floors as it has some beautiful elements of pre-historic times.

Beautifully designed with a plethora of exhibitions. I appreciated the mix of mostly free exhibits and one paid (optional.) Incredible artifacts with great variety. They had a fun interactive activity for kids along the museum which makes it such a great place for the whole family.

Deceptively large museum, with 5 underground levels and even more above ground, it extends into the next door buildings. From modern art, furniture and life to prehistorics in the basement. Free entry (there is payment for some of the exhibitions.

Nice place to get to know Luxembourg better. Some pieces were presented in extraordinary ways so I loved it though wasn’t a big fan of a thing (coins etc). Since Im not yet 26 I had enjoyed this museum for free that was very pleasant to learn.

This museum offers a very thorough overview of Luxembourg through the centuries. It’s easy to navigate and you can easily spend 2 hours here at a slow pace. Didn’t “wow” me but I thought it was interesting and well designed.

Really nice place, with lot of different artifacts. They have a good collection spread across 5 floors. May be not a place for someone who doesn't like broken pots, old coins and slice of history but surely a place where you can visit with your family. Kids will surely enjoy the place. When weather is not great and you are looking for something closed, you can come here. Entry is free.

I highly recommend a visit to this museum. Under 26s and students go free. Even for the normal adult rate there are 9 floors between 2 buildings to explore with large exhibitions of modern and old art, furniture, historic exhibitions and more to explore. I learnt a lot from my visit and I would say allow 3-4 hours for your visit. It is a must if you want to seriously learn about Luxembourg in all its detail.

This museum is huge. You need at least 3 hours to tour yourself around. The permanent exhibition is free, but the temporary need a ticket. The temporary ones of course change periodically, so you need to check before deciding. One downside is the lack of english texts on the lower floors (archeological part). There are some english textbooks at each floor but it is a bit difficult to follow the exhibition this way.

This elevator takes you from the bottom of the city to higher up. It's completely in glass, so the view is lovely. Once you're all the way up, there is some sort of walkthrough tunnel which also gives you a nice overlook of part of the city. Highly recommend visiting this. It's a great experience. Also very handy if your feet are getting a bit tired from walking around the city;)

Practical elevator and normally is used by the people that live in lower parts of the city that want to get "upstairs", but tourists really love to come here and enjoy the view or go down to lower city.

This elevator is truly a hidden gem that provides a unique and unforgettable experience. As soon as the elevator started ascending, I was captivated by the breathtaking panoramic view that unfolded before my eyes. The large glass windows allowed me to take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape in all its glory. From the lush greenery to the majestic architecture, every detail was perfectly framed by the elevator's design. The highlight, of course, was reaching the top and being greeted by a mesmerizing vista. The panoramic view from the observation deck was simply awe-inspiring. I could see the cityscape stretching out in front of me, with the winding river and historic buildings creating a picturesque scene. I highly recommend taking a ride on the Pfaffenthal Panoramic Elevator to anyone visiting the area. It's a fantastic way to get a bird's-eye view of the city and appreciate its beauty from a unique perspective.

A very cool and unique thing to experience during your visit to luxembourg city. This is simply an elevator in the middle of the city that travels for free between two levels. During my visit, the place was very calm and not too crowded. I got the chance to get stunning views of the city from the top, then get down using the elevator. Fun thing that i recommend during your luxembourg city itinerary👍🏻

You get to have a good view over the valley as this glass floored elevator that connects the Alzette valley to the city. It's about 70 metres high and free of charge. You get a good panoramic view. Be careful to check it's operating times as it is usually not operated on first Monday of the month.

The view from the top of the elevator is worth the detour and the neighbourhood at the bottom is charming, but to be clear, this is just an elevator (takes 20 seconds to go up or down) and the glass floor of the platform at the top is used to the point where its no longer clear. Still a great viewpoint and entirely free!

I love a viewpoint and this was a great place to be able to get a really beautiful panoramic view. It was very quiet when we went, so we are able to take our time and take lots of pictures then enter the elevator which took you down a level. This should definitely be on your list of viewpoints when you visit Luxembourg City!

This was a lot of fun! Totally free and not very busy. Just an elevator to get you up a level in Luxembourg. Once you’re up, there’s a great lookout area with a fairly opaque floor that can be a little anxiety inducing for those with vertigo. Great spot for views and selfies. Highly recommend

Interesting historical museum of the city of Luxembourg with a free entrance. Much more interesting to visit than Musee Drai Eechelen (a museum dedicated purely to the history of the fortress, located on the other side of the river). Also it's very convenient that it's usually open till 8pm. On the content: I loved the multiple models of the city at different moments in history. However, as a big fan of history, I wish there was more of a historical narrative presented here. Also the navigation around the museum could have been marked a bit better.

Very nicely designed museum. With every step, you can find something surprising there. You can learn about Luxembourg-ville itself, European union and see some art as well. There are descriptions of almost everything in French, German and English! ♡ It's easily accessible for people with disabilities, there are toilets and lockers.

I went here because the tour guide said this was his favorite museum in Luxembourg, but in my personal opinion the Museum of History and Art is much better. The layout is a bit confusing and I didn't find the exhibits to be particularly inspiring. Still giving it 4 stars because the staff was very friendly, and it's not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon in Luxembourg.

I highly recommend visiting the museum. It has multiple expositions, some of them are permanent, some other are temporary. The one about the history of Luxembourg is fairly interesting and shows the country 's heritage in an original and colourful manner. The museum is located in a beautiful spot in the city center, with a breath-taking view on the valley. Worth visiting for tourists, but also just for common Luxembourgish or expatriés🇱🇺🦊

Multi level museum with each floor covering a different part of Luxemburg's history or culture. Extremely well designed, the interior is as interesting as its content, not that the content should be ignored! Well designed exhibits pull you round easily, with plenty of information and context. Didn't really know what to expect, but was very pleased to have visited. Highly recommended.

Beautiful museum. The exhibition is larger than what I expected. It was very interesting to learn more about Luxembourg city. We spent about 3 hours in total and could have spent more time there.

Very pleasantly surprised by this museum 🏤 that has permanent exhibitions 🖌📽 but also temporary ones. The visit costs 5 euros for Adults and is free for children and students. When i've been there, the temporary exhibitions included the history of food 🥣🍜🍽🧃 and posters exhibition advertising events ✈️🚲🗼🎭💃from the current and last century. The exhibitions are mostly related to Luxembourg history or specifics, which is very nice thing to see.🏡 The huge elevator (the size of a room) and the panoramic terrace are two extra points to this museum, next to the VR room where you can virtually see parts of the old Luxembourg. 🥰👏👍😊 The exhibitions are exposed on 5 floors, but the time required ⏳️ to complete them is not too long (I estimate maximum 1h30m).

Amazingly organized museum: you go to the lowest floor where the history of Luxembourg starts (around 15th century) and as you come up - you see the development. Real time machine 😅

Luxembourg is a tiny country but its has a definite strength for growth. I didn’t plan to visit the museum, just walked by and got in but it kept me around 2 hours going around. It’s so good to know Luxembourg from a little village gradually growing up in the central Europe yet still managed to keep it its independence and glamour. The museum has cool touches of technology, history, design and souvenirs that you will definitely love it. I got free admission to the museum as I am a student in EU. However, if I have to pay for it, I think it’s still worth the price. This is one of my favorite museum on earth. An additional point is that on the 5th (?) floor, there is a gallery of posters through the year and you can vote for the one you prefer when I came there last January, which is really awesome. Maybe when you come, there will be something interesting to see.

I've visited this museum several times over the years. It's a modern museum about the history of the city and gives a good snapshot for someone who hasn't visited before. There's a lot to read, which I like, but it might not be suitable for visitors with small children for this reason. It's close to the centre of town and there are lots of cafés and bars nearby, which is convenient. There are lockers inside to store coats and bags, which the staff do make you use- they won't allow you to take in any handbags or even small backpacks. There are a lot of places within the exhibitions to sit if you need to rest, the lighting isn't too bright and the temperature is cool.

Way bigger than in looks in the pictures, schedule your time appropriately (i failed in doing so 😅 ) Lots of artifacts and a great presentation of the history of Luxembourg. I knew nothing about the city (or the country to be honest) and after the visit i feel like a scholar 🧐 And as a bonus they have a HUGE elevator that you should absolutely ride and a really nice terrace with a great view! Free lockers available (required for your backpack) and nice staff. Almost every text also in english.

Don't let the understated exterior and entrance put you off, this is an excellent museum, and great place to spend a couple of hours. Whilst the space is not huge, it is arranged over a number of floors, with all of the exhibit areas very carefully and tastefully put together. The entrance fee is only 5 euros. The three lower levels consist of a permanent History of Luxembourg exhibition, showing the evolution of the city through the ages, and the numerous complex factors that have played a part in shaping the Luxembourg of the day. The upper three levels house a temporary exhibition, with a captivating look at "associations" (guilds, clubs, other tribes of people) on our visit.

Well organised and informative museum. It covers all the aspects (economical, political, demographic etc) of the history of this fortress from the start until nowadays. You need more than 2 hours to tour yourself around in a comfortable pace and reading the information. The is also a panoramic terrace, which provides nice views.

The main exhibit offers a comprehensive history of Luxembourg and spans multiple floors, all accessible by both lifts and stairs. The centrepiece of the Museum is a gorgeous panoramic lift, and the terrace offers a lovely view out over the city.

Excellent museum experience. I've been to a handful of museums over the years, but this by far surpasses all. This establishment has a story to tell about the city, and it tells it very well, without boring audience with irrelevant minutiae. Level five where posters are exhibited is an added bonus!

A bridge with contemporary design. The walkway that runs below the bridge is the most intriguing feature.

This is the place to catch stunning city views. Spring has already began to show its presence in the city. The bridge is one of the iconic viewpoints in Luxembourg right outside the centre and 5min walk from Notre Dame cathedral. Make sure to walk the park below, it's equally stunning to catch the bridge view from down below. The river crossing the park, huge boulders covered in fresh moss, smell of the forest and life around, it all makes this jungle is therapeutic place right in the middle of Luxembourg's capital city.

Beautiful bridge with amazing views. I can't wait to visit it again but in a better season like summer, although in the winter is not so bad.

This iconic place includes so much more than absolutely majestic architecture of the Pont Adolphe. That one visionary done stone building connects the two part of the city over the river Petrusse valley. The walk up and down by many paths means a few different viewpoints with deep beautiful sensations. The nature impresses all year long especially during spring, during hot summer’s days gives opportunity to take deep breathe and rest on the bench or the grass by the river. You can cycle and run observing how the place amazingly change through the seasons

Really beautiful bridge from the outside and the inside with the walking and biking path. Also really quiet and comfy, back in 2019 I spent the night backpacking and helped me cover a bit from the cold outside

A unique experience to be able to see this bridge after traveling from Aruba, and getting to know Luxembourg, and my wife loved it, in the future, I will visit again and learn more about its history and city.

Adolphe Bridge & Old Town - An absolutely gorgeous bridge with spectacular views over the hills and cliffs of the old town. Very scenic! This double deck arch bridge has motor vehicle access on the top and lower deck is for pedestrians. One of Luxembourg must watch tourist attraction. Ample parking space available at cliff View Point. The place can be crowded.

Very nice bridge which connects the classical part of the city/country to the modern/business side. Beautiful lush garden beneath it and very modern trams go along.

This is one of the most beautiful bridges in Luxembourg city which connects two parts of the city together. It is a huge structure and gives you a chance to see some amazing views when you're on it.

Cool place with great vantage point for entire city. Pro tip, if you are with family or can't walk, take bus 9/15 from center which bring you very close. And then you can take stairs and to walk all through to the bottom. Beautiful views and great spot for sunset. PS here are many spots with various vantage point

Beautiful double-decked arch bridge to walk on, through and under! The lower deck provides save passage for pedestrians and bicycles and gives an interesting view of the bridge from the inside and the valley underneath. The upper deck is where the roadtraffic and trams (and pedestrians) operate. The bridge is not less impressive when walking underneath on the paths of Parc de la Pétrusse.

The bridge is beautiful, I suggest walking under it and then returning along the top...there are very beautiful views

Very beautiful bridge. There is a walkway under bridge and a pathway on the bottom of the bridge where you can see the magnificent archers and structure of the bridge.

Basically Luxemburg is famous as its a world richest country where people earn more then 4k in a month. And Pont Adolphe bridge is such a beutiful tourist spot in Luxemburg. But one scenario make me heart that many one living inside this bridge & they are suffering in their life😓 I have learnt one lesson from here country doesn’t matter to become rich, it's depend on Luck & hard-work....Thank you💝

Spectacular views from this powerful fortress. The location is perfect for a midday stop over while visiting the Ardennes. It is evident in this tour how such a tiny country held its own while wedged between warmongers France and Germany. The history of this country is compact but interesting. Reminiscent of Monaco. One of four seats of the EU and an UNESCO heritage site.

Ah, what a beautiful experience. The place is full of history. Prepare yourself to dig into the undergrounds of the city and to get to know the old city fortifications. There are a lot of steps downward but the place is very well conserved and the guide is awesome. It's worth the visit.

Much less crowded than the other casemates and we accessed this from Grund. Beautiful, open, peaceful, and a view of the city.

Very beautiful and interesting historical place to visit. Sculptured inside the rock, it is like a labyrinth with lots of stairs up and down. You can see the opening for the powder cannons and in couple of them you can still see these cannons. You need to buy a ticket for entry.

Stunning views, a site definitely worth visiting, might be even better during summer.

We had a wonderful tour of the casemates and it’s was really interesting with fantastic guide who took us underground to see the history of Luxembourgs Fort. The guide was very knowledgeable and speaks four languages to could translate easily. We really enjoyed the 45 min tour. This is not a tour for the disabled as it involves taking more than 200 steps down into the fort.

A nice tourist attraction photo spot for people to clip good picture with an awesome background of the old world building structures! It gets crowded with tourists during early and mid-day. A mandatory place to visit and capture your Luxembourg 🇱🇺 travel!

DO NOT RECOMMEND - Go to the other Casemates in Lux. We arrived 3 minutes late and the tour had already departed. We asked to change our visit to another time but they told us tickets are non refundable and they offered no alternative. 6 tickets = 90 Euros lost. The lady at the tourist office was a bit rude. In the tickets there is nothing written on the tolerance of waiting time, in the other Lux Casemates it is 15 minutes. In this one nothing. Customer experience at its worse.

Superb experience, really glad I took the tour. Guide was excellent although commentary in French very clear and signs helped fill gaps in understanding. Highly recommend
