The church is the culture of the city! Beautiful architecture, very well preserved and with a lot of history to tell, I recommend the visit! We stayed in a hotel, in front of the Church, in a very quiet square, with many cafes

St Lazarus church was such a peaceful visit. The energy in the church and all the other features including interior’s architecture provides is beautiful. Also don’t forget to go downstairs to visit the tomb of St. Lazarus! We even lit candles in honor and thanksgiving.

Excellent place to reflect on Life the universe and everything. Down in the crypt is the tomb of St Lazarus. He was taken from here ended up in Marseille…. and the French Lost him …. Typical … couple of glasses of Ricard and they can barely find their way home … It is a Magical place very popular with people. There are regular services, in Greek . It is quite moving and sort of reminds me of Gregorian Chanting . Visit and enjoy .

The square of the church is simply magnificient. Feels like a mix of Spain, Italy, Turkey and Crete, in other words, awesome! Just maybe read a bit more what You get to see inside before going, we didn't, so literally just took a peak inside and rather roamed around the square.

One of the oldest churches in Larnaca which is very popular with locals and tourists. The church is located in the centre of the Old Larnaca and very easy to reach from he beach front. The church it has a crypt which Saint Lazarus is believed to be buried. It has also got it own separate museum. You will find a lot f cafes and traditional restaurants around the church.

One of the most important Orthodox churches and monuments in the world. It is also one of the most beautiful churches I have ever been in and there is a coffin of St. Lazarus as well as a crypt where he was buried under the church. You can visit all of it free of charge and if you want you can donate something to the church. The whole place is just wonderful. If you are in Cyprus a must see.

It is one of the iconic places in Larnca. Once you are there you have to visit it. Easy accessible. It is located near the beach. You will feel some sacred and awe. There are amazing eastern orthodox icons. Small shops for souvenirs. Don't forget to visit the tomb in the basement

A beautiful Church with fantastic architecture and history. We didn’t go inside the Church as we felt we weren’t dressed appropriately at the time, but they did have shawls/coverings hanging on hooks outside for public use….just peaking though the doors the inside looked wonderful: we will go in on our next visit. They had a QR code (story telling statue) for a link to some audio history of the site, which we thought was excellent.

St. Lazarus Church was a calm and nice place to visit. Inside, it looked beautiful, and you could go down to see the tomb. It didn't cost anything to get in. Just remember to wear appropriate clothes. Around the church, there are lots of cool shops and cafes.

The Church of Saint Lazarus is a late-9th century church in Larnaca, Cyprus. It belongs to the Church of Cyprus, an autocephalous Greek Orthodox Church. The Church of Saint Lazarus is named for New Testament figure Lazarus of Bethany, the subject of a miracle recounted in the Gospel of John, in which Jesus raises him from the dead. According to Eastern Orthodox tradition, sometime after the Resurrection of Jesus, Lazarus was forced to flee Judea because of rumoured plots on his life and came to Cyprus. There, he was appointed by Paul the Apostle and Barnabas as the first Bishop of Kition (now Larnaca). He is said to have lived for thirty more years and on his death was buried there for the second and last time. The Church of Agios Lazaros was built over the reputed second tomb of Lazarus.

We very much enjoyed sacred atmosphere of ancient Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Lazarus. Greek cues of architecture and incredibly rich inner environment of the church including fabulous iconostasis, and ancient relicts of Saint Lazarus made this experience one of the highlights of our trip to Larnaca.

Beach is clean, if you want to swim, you have to walk into deeper water I guess 100 meters. Good for children. To rent beach stuff 7.5 eur/day.

A lovely beach with a promenade all the way along the front. There are also bars restaurants and cafes all the way as well. The road runs parallel to the one behind with the shops in it. On the beach you have sunbeds and palm trees. The sunbeds cost €2.50 euros to hire. The water is very shallow here, so great for those who just like to wade into the water. The beach is very clean. The harbour is to the left of the beach. The beach faces east, so it's a perfect place to watch the sunrise from. A very popular beach for a good reason.

Nice and cute area near the Castle of Larnaca. There is a pierce here: very short and funny. There is an old anchor that is used currently as a memorial for the Mariupol victims of Russian war in Ukraine.any people, beggars, turists.

very nice city beach. unfortunately the sand is a bit dirty and rock hard in some places. On the plus side, the possibility of renting sunbeds for 2.5 euros.

Finikoudes is a nice beach, not perfect though. But sometimes there are too many people and tourists altogether. Restaurants, cafes, bars and small convenience stores are located nearby, so you can visit it even empty handed.

Nice beach, bunch of shops nearby, foods & drinks, everything you need. Umbrella/bed is 2.5 € each. Airplanes arrive/depart right in front of you, though there are closer beaches for that purpose.

Lined with palm trees, Finikoudes beach in Larnaca, Cyprus is located onthe Mediterranean sea. There are many shops & restaurants on it's promenade and in the nearby area.

Finikoudes beach is a nice and quiet beach. The sand is firm and good for walking and jogging without many pebbles. You can see the whole of Larnaca bay and the medieval castle from there. And so you have access to all the restaurants of different cuisine on Finikoudes Promenade. The water is clear and refreshing.

Whilst the beach is just a stretch of sand with very shallow water, it borders a colourful boardwalk bustling with street vendors, cafes, restaurants, with the Europe Square and a super nice (and free of charge) Municipal Art Gallery at its end.

Good and spacious beach with long beach line and plenty of sun beds. 2 sun beds and 1 umbrella costs 7,50€ per day which is a fair price. The sea is clear and relaxing to swim in

A nice place next to the restaurants on the main road of Larnaca. The sandy beach is really nice having a warm water. You can go get your food from any place around. You can finish and god enjoy a meal at hundred of restaurants around.

Nice beach that’s fairly clean and shallow. You probably can go out 200 meters and can still stand. It was nice to swim. Warm water and close to the pier. The beach sun beds were free of cost in the evening around 7-8 pm. Probably payable in the morning.

Great experience walking along the promenade, with the beach and crystal clear sea on the one side and a row of shops, bars and restaurants on the other. The tourist office and Larnaca Museum can be easily accessed off the promenade - just look for the Square and statue in front and they are sign-posted.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful. It's easy to park, free of charge and it has a big open space. You can observe flamingos very easily from there, but they are quite shy birds, they won't come too close to the shore when you are there. But if you could be qiret and wait for a while, they would slowly come closer. Definitely a great place to get closer to nature! I highly recommend this spot!

Pink flamingos 🦩 visit the lake in winter. When I visited in mid November there were 2 big groups. Should bring a good camera to get a good picture. However you can walk around and enjoy the views. Various parking around the lake.

I thought there would be no water there, just salt.

We were here at the end of August and the lake was dried up and it was like a swamp. But it was fascinating seeing this white lake like it was covered in snow.

The Salt Lake in Larnaca is 30+ minutes walk from Larnaca's Finikoudes beach(tourist area). We had a good walk along the lake on our way to the historic Hala Sultan mosque and also stopped by the Salt Lake a few times for views across.

I visited it in November, and there were no birds, no water. Just a mud and salt. Large area covered by mud and salt. The guide said in winter there will be a lot of flamingo and water. It is located near Hala Sultan mosque.

The surroundings were clean. Idle for the sunset view. We had been here to see the Flamingos. Walking trails, benches, it well maintained.

Amazing time of the year to visit the salt lake. Flamingos are visiting the lake during February to May. I suggest going at sunset.

A real disappointment. Visited mid June and there were no flamingos (not the season) and nothing special to see. Looked just like any regular beach.

It is a beautiful and quiet place to watch the sunset with flamingos. There is a parking place. You can skate there or ride a bike, or just take a walk.

Lovely place to visit. Went October when you can walk out onto the salt. Will be going back when the rain falls and the flamingos 🦩 are back. There is a walk all the way round the loch. Nice picnic area and ice cream van depending when you’re there

The lake was dry, but the view of moschee and dried salt was amazing

It is an amazing lake full of salt. It is just amazing. The smell of waters is wonderful I recommend it. The nature is everywhere. The water is full of microorganisms and shrimps. But do not fool your self and think that those shrimps will be tasty on a grill. If you eat them you will turn pink just like the flamingos that roam the area. You can find flamingos when it starts to rain in Cyprus and the lake becomes full, which depends on the planes that spray our clouds every now and then. The best part is mosquitoes. 10 minutes near Larnaca you will be reminded of the existence of this salt lake as thousands near to millions of mosquitoes will drink every last drop of your blood while leaving you with an unbearable need to scratch the skin off your flesh. Otherwise 5/5 for the nice views

Not far away from the airport there is the salt lake of Larnaca, you can see the flamingo 🦩 enjoying the salt, there's a walking path along the salt lake, you can stop, look at flamingos and have a great time while you explore Larnaca, there are branches along and you can stop and just relax while you look at the flamingo in the salt lake.

On a rainy day we had the opportunity to see those wonderful flamingos. What a relaxing feeling..

Nice place for a walk alongside the salt lake, where you can watch the flamingos and other water birds. Great view of the Hala Sultan Tekkesi - this place has a ridiculous number of cute cats, it must be their sanctuary. There is several benches throughout the path, ideal to contemplate those magnificent birds.

Definitely best beach in Larnaca. Beach has great infrastructure and less crowded than other beaches. Plus you will see plane take offs / landings.

We had apartament in 1st line therfore amazing views on Sunrise. Very wide and sand was very nice. 5 stars for shallow water.

Mackenzie Beach is a very beautiful beach. We definitely recommend taking a walk here. We walked from the marina. We went to this beach because we wanted to enjoy watching the planes. There is a wooden bench near the airport fence. We sat there and had a great experience. We are so glad we didn't miss this place.

Nice beach with many facilities around, including restaurants, cafes and hotels. Water is shallow for a long distance, making it also ideal for kids.

Awesome beach, parking is €2.50 for the day, cheap to rent a sun lounger and with ample selection of restaurants a stones throw away from the water what else do you need. You even get to watch the planes fly in low to land at Larnaca Airport.

Beach is so cool. There are many cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. It is the closest to the airport so you can take great pictures and videos when the plane lands.

Nice beach. It improved a lot in the recent year or so with the bars around, especially nearer the harbour. Sand is OK... not golden but more brown and muddy. The sea is flat with no sudden depths so it's safe.

Great! Lovely warm waters and good mix of beach bars, seafood restaurants/tavernas, and fast food joints. Expect tourists. Lovely spot at the end of the beach, opposite Zakos restaurant, where you can see the airplanes taking off (in the mornings) or landing (in the evenings) above you as Larnaca airport is adjacent to the public beach. Taps to wash feet are intermittently placed down the beach, showers (for a small charge), and changing rooms available.

I should start with the fact that the Hala Sultan Tekke is idyllic in a beautiful location on the shores of a Salt Lake. The Mosque can only be entered with a covered body (no shorts! No short skirts! Covered shoulders, covered knees). The garden and buildings around are well kept. The Mosque itself is beautiful on the outside, and inside you can feel the spirit of prayers. I recommend to see.

Very peaceful. And it’s free. But please follow the rules of clothing. It says clearly no shorts & sleeveless. I saw many people not allowed inside due to dress code. So do read up before you make a trip.

Beautiful Ottoman style mosque of great importance for the Muslim world. It’s situated on the west bank of the Salt Lake and is entrance free. As it’s a holy place for worship, make sure you wear trousers / long skirt to enter the site. Luckily for us it was our last visit before going to the airport so we had some in the car.

The place is nice, they can do better in cleaning and the “attention” sentence in Arabic is completely wrong! Please note that you can not enter the mosque if you are wearing shorts (for men and women). My husband couldn’t enter and waited outside.

A nice peaceful place near the salt lake. Worth a look round, but there's not a massive amount to see unless you're a Muslim, in which case it's an important religious site. There is a good walkway round the lake, which you can use to see the flamingos (bring binoculars, or a camera with a proper zoom lens). The walkway starts in the SE corner of the mosque car park, it's not signposted. Entry is free, it opens at 08:30 sharp.

You need to be covered up! The security at the entrance is very friendly. Interesting architecture. There are a lot of cats that live there happily and are well taken care of

It is a great place to visit when you’re in Larnaca. It is even better from the outside than from within. It is surrounded by a green area and located next to a lake all of it combined is a delight to the senses especially on a sunny day. Visit, walk around, relax. If you are interested in Islam history pay a visit it is an important Muslim landmark.

Very beautiful place. Nice nature around and the architect style is very special and pretty. It's just next to the salt lake. You can easier walk to the lake and watch flamigos from there. In front of the musk there is a lady feeding cats, soooo many cats there, quite impress. I like how the locals here treat animals, so sweet! In general its a very nice location to visit, when you are in Larnaca, make sure to have a look!

One of the holiest places of islam in the Mediterranean, definitely a very beautiful place with amazing nature around it. There are specific openings hours to get inside but even of its closed its wort s visit. Amazing place to see the sunset and take pictures with the reflection of the salt lake. There are even flamingos in the lake during their migration period.

It is a special place in many ways and definitely worth visiting but make sure that you wear long pants (cover your knees and shoulders).

One of still operated and important Muslim mosques, build in 1816 on a place where, according to a legend, the aunt of Muhammad died. Worth seeing on your first day in Larnaca, as it is 5 minutes away from the airport by car.

It is one of the most famous touristic attractions in Larnaca. It is located near Salt Lake. Usually, you will need 20 minutes to 30 minutes to visit it. There is no restaurant or coffee shop around.take care from dressing code if you want to enter inside.

The Mosque is built on the site of the tomb of Umm Haram , and is the most Islamic religious site on Cyprus and is one of the revered pilgrimage sites in the Muslim World . Umm Haram belonged to Najjar clan from Banu Khazraj. She was the sister of Umm Sulaym and their house was often visited by Muhammad. Her brothers, Haram bin Milhan and Sulaym bin Milhan participated in the Battle of Badr and Uhud. She was married to 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, a companion of Muhammad. 'Ubadah was one of the first Ansari men to take part in the Pledge of Aqabah. She was also aunt of Anas bin Malik, Muhammad's servant. She was one of the Muslims wartime nurses who served wounded soldiers during the battles of Uhud and Hunayn. During the Cyprus expedition, she sailed on the sea in the reign of Mu'awiya I. She fell down from her riding animal and died. The tomb of Umm Haram is in Larnaca, Cyprus and a mosque is built beside it. The mosque is known as Hala Sultan Tekke. Shorts if worn must be below the knees, out of respect women should cover up. You may enter the Mosque in bare feet , or socks but no shoes. They sell some bits and bobs that are made there, and the monies raised go to local charities, feeding the poor .

I was there on the 24th of December and, unfortunately, it was closed… I didn’t find anything about it and not only me, but many people who came after me. But I can’t take stars away anyways, because of how important and beautiful this place is. But would really want to see some words on the Internet when it will be closed…

The site is absolutely stunning, impeccably maintained, and efficiently managed. I visited Nicosia for a wedding but made a special trip to Larnaca to visit and pray at Hala Sultan Mosque and explore the city further. The security guard was very friendly, he tried speaking to me in Greek but ended up explaining things to my friend who translated it for me. My friend, a woman, commented that she was initially worried about coming to a Mosque but the guard made her feel comfortable. Adherence to rules is required, akin to any other place of worship, ensuring a respectful environment for a Mosque. Also, lots of cats!

Larnaca is an affordable place, a wonderful location! The pier area is full of restaurants, bars and shops. Being there, you don't need anything else! I recommend taking a boat trip at sunset, it's amazing!

Vibrant and beautiful place. At this time of the year when most of the tourist places are either closed in this country, this place has enough footfall. Cafe and restaurants are open and serving great variety of food and drinks. Beautiful beach, shallow water - one can enjoy good time with loved ones. Market is near with nice decorations giving it a festival vibe.

There are just a few things i look for in a marina. Reasonable rates, clean bathrooms Hot showers helpful staff good shelter and security. Larnaca marina has all that and more. There is a very nice relaxed atmosphere here and everything you need is not far away. The local boaters are very friendly, curious, and love to engage with the visiting yachts. You are sure to be very happy here

What an amazing experience shopping here as staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The matured lady in particular made us feel so special and valued, that even my cranky and tired kids became relaxed. Shoes were also half price but even at original prices, they were affordable and quality ace. Will definitely go back and will recommend for top quality shoes for men, women and kids plus accessories. Oh it's about 3-5mins walk to the beach with lots to do, see and eat around.

Not much going on at the marina. It's in the middle of renovations. Close to town though and lots happening out on the street near by. Cruise options galore for going on trips. Agistri seafood restaurant is good though, great location and lovely food

Took the advanced open water course here, and it was amazing. The dive Master was very clear and good at English. The equipment was very high standard. It was new, and was the best equipment I have used so far. The dive at Zenobia was so beautiful and the best dive I have ever done. All of the staff was very friendly and made the diving experience very good and completely safe. Would absolutely recommend using them if you consider diving in Cyprus

Enjoyed my first diving experience here at I Dive Cyprus. We were lucky to get a personal "Discover Scuba Diving" lesson at the start of march. Andy did come out to Proteras just for the two of us and it couldn't have been better. Diving and safety instructions were perfect and very clear to me as a beginner. Diving spot was marvelous. We went about 10m down and saw many fish, seastars and underwater statues. Andy was very caring and guided us through the whole experience while also taking high quality pictures and videos with his camera. Afterwards he dropped us off at our accomodation so we didn't have to walk home. We highly recommend diving with "I Dive Cyprus" and hope to be back someday. Thank you Andy! It was a pleasure!

I had a great couple days out on the local wrecks with Andy and the crew from I Dive Cyprus. Andy helped build the local dive landscape and industry and is super knowledgeable about the local sites. I had the privilege this week to dive with 3 siblings and my 11 year old niece, and my sisters partners. My family all done the discovery dive and tried diving for the first time. They all absolutely loved it. As a dive master myself it's been a dream of mine to be underwater with my family, & I DIVE CYPRUS made that dream come true. Andy was extremely patient and helpful with one of sisters who was a bit nervous before, but after listening to Andys clear instructions she smashed it. Andy, marina, dimitri and Marco were brilliant throughout, very professional and knowledgeable divers. They done a awesome job of catering to the whole group while keeping safety as their main priority. 2 of the group went onto doing there open water certification and 1 of them doing the advanced course. Andy took myself and the advanced divers to the zenobia wreck which was INSANE!!!!! MUST SEE if your advanced. For somebody who has dived all over the world i can honestly say I Dive Cyprus are one of the best centres ive been with. I really cannot express enough how great they have been. It was the first time diving for us, and it was the perfekt setting to get an introduction into the under water world. Amazing diving experience We had so much fun with I dive Cyprus. The service is extraordinary, we felt so welcomed and taken care of. We went diving with a family of four and Andy (the owner) paid attention to everyone’s needs. We saw different dive spots, great under water life - everything from lion fish to turtles and caves. 5 stars + - we’d come back any time. You don’t need to check other places if you want to go scuba diving, just pick this one and you will not regret it! This is a professional place with a nice atmosphere. Felt safe the entire time with Andy that knows his stuff. A great dive!

My boyfriend is a qualified & we stopped by to sort out some dives for him. They could accommodate me with a beginner dive as well as him as an experienced diver, which meant we could it together. This was my first time diving & I pretty much had 1-1 instruction. Everyone was really friendly & I felt completely safe & really enjoyed the experience. So much so that I am seriously thinking about gaining a qualification. I’d definitely recommend I Dive Cyprus, whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver.

It's quite a way to go from the city centre. I rented a bicycle. I visited in April and it was a very sunny day so it was very hot. If you come in the summer I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble. It was built in the 18th century, so I'm sure there are more ancient and spectacular aqueducts scattered around Europe, dating from Roman times. I mean, the building itself is OK, but if you're in Larnaca for a day like I was, don't feel guilty if you skip visiting this place.

My son learned about aqueducts on STEM day at school in year three. So he actually knew more about aqueducts than I did. And us seeing the aqueduct cemented the knowledge he'd gained from school. I enjoyed visiting the Kamares aqueduct because I thought the engineering of it is pretty incredible, especially for the time and age. Well worth a drive by. You don't need to spend more than 10 minutes there, but you can have a lot of fun.

I've read a lot about aqueducts and how they were constructed. Very interesting place if one knows the history.

Great starting point for running on the salt lake path. Has parking. Pet friendly and the path is well maintained in most spots.

An amazing Roman acritecture which anyone can visit at any time? I have started from here my nature trail though the salt lake. Is worth visiting as it doesn't take a lot of time to admire a few of the Roman acritecture in Larnaca?

A lovely walk from the salt lake to the aquaduct. It is better in the winter because in the summer there is too much sun and for most of the walk you are exposed. The aquaduct is a lovely end to the walk but there is nothing much to do than have a quick look at it and take some photos. I doubt there is any archeological info provided.

It is just a historic water bridge with multiple arches. Don't expect an amazing architecture. 20 to 30 minutes is enough to get some pictures.

An attractive place for a short visit. You can walk along the aqueduct. Half an hour is enough for you to visit. There are also places where cars or bus can be parked. A stream flows under the aqueduct and there are various birds in it, some even exotic. The place is in the city.

This was a great bit of history to see still standing and on a beautiful sunny February morning we popped over to take a look , only need 20minutes to walk the front and go look at the top of it . Fascinating to think these used to carry water to the city’s. We enjoyed it on a relax day out

Lovely beach and the water is so warm. The beach is sandy but doesn't have the golden colour Cyprus is usually known for. There is a popular restaurant nearby where you can eat fresh fish. It's also not as busy as other beaches in the area. Plenty of parking too.

Very shallow waters, only good for children, or you have to walk quite far to swim. There are paid sunbeds and amenities, although the beach is not looked after well enough for the price. You can only pay for sunbeds in cash. The sand is gray. Pros: No stones in the water; Huge parking; Volleyball courts. I won't be coming here again because there are plenty of alternatives.

Lovely, cozy beach. The restaurant is best known for the amazing fish and chips. A must!

Great beach! It has a big coffee shop with snacks, sandwiches and different drinks. The prices are good enough. They have changing rooms, belonging to this beach. Free of payment. As well as toilets. Also exists shower outside. You put some coin and the water runs like 1-2 minutes. It is just to splash some water on tour body to get read of the salt after swimming in the sea. There are some courts to play beach games and lots lots if people attend. Sunbeds and ombrellas you can rent like in other places close to the sea. Beautiful area. Also good for surfing. There is a surfing school as i remember from the previous years.

This place is really cool! It's not very big, so it might only take an hour or two to get through, but the objects are quite lovely. I was very surprised by the quality and intactness of many of the historical items...everything is kept very carefully and the historical summaries are pretty nice. Cute little gift shop with excellent books.

Polecam Larnaka Storytelling Statues a w szczególności Figure w kształcie krzyża. Cruciform Figure: The 6000-year-old cross-shaped idol is one of the many priceless exhibits found at the Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Culture Foundation.

Located a 3 minute walk off the main square. Cost :3 euros and they take credit cards. It’s a single floor of 5 rooms and a corridor. Different historic periods of vases and pots, figurines and statues/ heads and artefacts. Description could be made easier with number going in a systematic order as well as the description. Descriptions are put into one page of say 1-5 and objects maybe on two different levels in two different panels of display making it difficult for the visitor to follow a systematic viewing of the displays. Also description not at eye level but a lot of bending down is required for reading inscriptions, the font could also be bigger.

A small private museum with exhibits from Stone Age that Pieridis family acquired through the generations which they showcase for the public to enjoy. The museum is housed in a private colonial style building which it was a family house before built in 1825 and which it has been occupied the site for more than four generations. Each room is sectioned on different afterfacts from bronze, clay, glass and more. My favourite section it was the different coloured and shapes of blown glass. You can spend easily one to two hours there and is accessible for wheelchair users. It has a small gift shop at the back and toilets in the back yard. Entrance is €3.00 and is well worth a visit there.

Great little museum. It is a private collection of antiquities collected by the Pierides family now on public display. It house's 2500 Cypriot antiques spanning 9000 Years of culture from the Neolithic to the Medieval period consisting of stone carvings, ceramics, maps, textiles and glassware. Incredible how such delicate and fragile items have survived do long. If you like history/art you can easily Pass a few hours looking round. And worth the 3euros entrance fee

Nice museum but not so big. The entrance fee is €3. The hundreds of years old maps are interesting in the museum.

We liked this experience very much. First time we made 2 glasses and 1 plate. Then we came to paint them and next time we will come to take them home. The attitude is very nice. We were taught how to make pots, everything was explained in details. Everyone will be able to make their own pot without any problems. If you fly home back and need to take the pots with you - you can pay extra and they will prepare your pots faster. I highly recommend it. It is totally worth it. Thanks a lot to the owners.

This activity may be a little off the normal activity branch but really made a mark on our group. The owner is a very interesting person and with his experience he can help a novice like we were create something useful and full of memories. A very cost efficient and new experience bring day!

Great fun, our 4 year old daughter loved it, and the very helpful owner allowed us to collect our creations on a Sunday, after they had spent time in the kiln. Highly recommended.

Lovely place and friendly service. The owner of the shop told us that they have had the shop since the 80s so you're truly getting traditional, hand-made pottery here! We bought several things here that were all individually wrapped for safe transport. Definitely recommend.

A gorgeous experience- I read about Emira Pottery prior to traveling to Larnaca and happened to walk past it on my walk to Hala Tekke Sultan. I stopped in and loved the designs.I bought multiple small pieces for Christmas gifts and had a walk around the studio. Seeing finished and unfinished products was a treat, as was my conversations with the artists. Please make sure you stop by while in Larnaca!

Went here because of other reviews. Bought some lovely pottery for very (very) reasonable prices. The owner is nice and let me look in the back of the shop where the pottery is made.

The archaeological area of Kition consists of two sites: Kathari and Pampoula. It is located within the limits of the modern city of Larnaka. Various finds came to light between the 18th and the 19th century, during excavation work conducted by foreign travelers and tomb looters. One such find is the famous Assyrian stele of king Sargon II, now in Berlin. A plaster cast of the stele is exhibited in the Larnaka Museum. The first systematic excavations began in 1929 by the Swedish Cyprus Archaeological Expedition, under the direction of Einar Gjestard. In 1959, the Department of Antiquities, under the direction of Vassos Karageorghis, began excavating the site of Kathari. Following the events of 1974, the French Expedition of the University of Lyon, which was digging until then at the site of Salamina, undertook the responsibility of excavating the site of Pampoula. The earliest phases of human habitation and religious worship in Kition, are found at the site of Kathari. Five consecutive temples and workshops for the smelting of copper, have already been excavated and are dated from the end of the 13th to the end of the 11th century B.C. This corresponds to the Late Bronze Age and the Geometric period, during which the city of Kition flourished and was inhabited by Mycenean Achaeans. Following their destruction, a magnificent temple identified as that of Astarte, was erected in their place by the Phoenicians, sometime around 850 B.C. The temple was used until the beginning of the 3rd century B.C., when it was also destroyed. The excavations at the site of Pampoula, have shown that the area was continuously inhabited from the end of the Geometric to the Hellenistic period. The first architectural remains dated to the 9th century B.C., consist of a temple and various other buildings. During the Archaic and Classical period, the temple was extended to include many rooms, open courts with stoas and shrines, offering hearths and industrial installations for the smelting of copper. The variety of finds indicates that a number of deities was worshipped at Kition, the most significant being the Phoenician deities Astarte (equivalent of Aphrodite), Melkart (equivalent of Heracles), and Esmoun (equivalent of Asclepius), as well as the Egyptian deities Hathor, Bes and Horus. During the Classical period, large-scale construction work was commissioned in the city of Kition, such as monumental public buildings which formed part of an ambitious public works project. Part of this project was also the draining of the marshland in the quarter of Pampoula, the creation of a sanitary system, and the construction of two harbours, one for commercial purposes and one for military use. Only the military one has been excavated so far. The ramps used to tow the ships into the harbor for repair or for safe keeping, still exist.

Worth a quick visit for only 2.50 Euros. There are information boards that explain the ruins and what they were used for across the ages. Shouldn't need more than 20 minutes to do a circuit around the exhibit and read the boards.

A very beautiful and important archeological site. Even though it's not the biggest or the most impressive one and some parts are poorly preserved, the history and importance behind the site make the place a great destination to reach while in Larnaca.

Underwhelming experience. Just a few leftovers of walls described on half a page. Walkway is too far away from the walls. The wooden bridge with a small glass floor felt completely unreasonable. It was very obvious the excavation was far from finished but they stopped it, there must be many more walls under the ground

It was ok. When you get there, first you won't know where is the entrance. But then you'll see a clear patch of land and suppose it's some kind of parking lot. You will see a dig site from there and suppose you're in the right place. Then look left. You will see a small entrance and enter here. You will be greeted by an old man with his feet on the desk. You pay 2.5€ and enter to the dig site. You have one bridge across the site with some panels explaining what are you looking at, you cross it, look a bit and you are done with everything in 15min. Nothing much to look at but after that you can cross it from your sightseeing list. Go in the early morning or late in the afternoon, because if you get there later than 10am you will DIE from the heat.

Well, it's actually hard to imagine what was there, u can spend there 5 minutes or 30 by chilling on a bank.

Archeological site with remnants of ancient buildings including several temples. There is not much to see, but the walk is pleasant and easy. You can read some information on the site and building it contains.

A small, but interesting site of historical importance for the island. There isn't a great deal here, but if you have the time and appreciate history, then it is worth seeing.

It’s supposed to be open till 4 today but unfortunately when I went here it was locked up and office closed. No idea if or when it’s open next. It’s a pity as Kition is the major architectural site of Larnaca. Perhaps they only open in high summer

Small but lovely. I went there at sunset and the sky after rain was fantastic! There was stairs to go up and see the lakes and birds. There were some goose at that time some other birds I didnt recognize from afar. I suggset you take binoculars with you as you can not get close to the fenced lake.

A great place to watch flamingos from October to May.

Both hides are a bit too far away from the flamingoes to get decent pictures ☹️. Also, the hide near the filling station means that you're shooting into the sun sand only get silhouettes in your pictures ☹️ Cyprus seems to do nature reserves almost as badly as they do historic sites to be honest.

We travelled from Paphos to see the flamingos and we were not disappointed. Huge bonus having a purpose built viewing platforms to view the stars of the show. Plenty of other water birds too so never boring. Looking forward to going again next year. Don't forget your binoculars and a camera (with a zoom lens preferably). Twitchers paradise 👍

The beach is located in a beautiful area, offering picturesque views. However, it's important to note that both the beach and the sea were somewhat less clean than expected, which slightly diminishes the overall appeal of this otherwise lovely spot.

Nice Sandy beach. This one is less crowded than Mckenzie beach and easier to hung free umbrellas/ chairs to rent. Warm water.

Lovely Sandy beach. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas €2:50 each. There is a gentle slope into the sea and this stays fairly shallow for quite a distance. Very wide strip of sand in front the sunbeds.

Secluded, quiet, uncrowded, with a long distance between sunbeds, with a small bar where you can also serve food, with a playground for children, the sand is fine, the entrance to the sea is smooth, the water becomes very warm in the afternoon. It is an extremely friendly and picturesque beach at the same time. The shower does not always work and the toilet available is only that from the bar.

Beautiful beach. Less crowded than Finnikoudes beach and cleaner. Soft sand. Good beach bar. Very relaxed.

Sandy beach next to Makenzy. It is interesting that the see is deep may be 200 meters from the seaside. The Parking 2.5EUR on the other side of the main road.

This beach is really nice for family's travelling with child, as the water gets deep really slowly. Its not crowded. Definitly would recommend. One thing to note is that the shops are a bit away from the sunbeds, and a coffee costs €4, which is hugely overpriced. The sunbeds/sunshades costs €2.5 but if you are alone you don't need to pay for 2 sunbeds. The shower works with 50 cent coins.

We waited 40 minutes for drinks and then they bring wrong order. Also I had a silver tequila and they didn't bring me lemon and solt. I had to ask twice for that. Place and design are nice,coctails are tasty, also food what we saw looked good. Such a shame I have to give only two stars because of really bad waiters.

Lovely beach. Mostly clean sand and water. Very shallow. Lounger and parasol hire €2.50 each for the day, cash or card. Nice bar at one end and cafe in the middle, both reasonably priced.

Clean and not crowded beach. Best time to enjoy is early morning.

Definitely to be preferred over Finikoudes beach. A lot cleaner, calmer vibe and the bed/umbrella sellers are polite and friendly. The only downside is that the only toilet is the one by the beach bar that says "customers only". I mean we still went there and nobody said anything.

Easy going place run by a German fellow. He is very friendly and will serve you well. Prices are adequate. You can sit under many umbrellas that save you from the cruel Cyprus sun. :). You can use free WiFi here and rent a water sport equipment

Amazing feeling. Blue flag quiet beach, not crowded, really nice people, very relaxed beach bar and the coolest owner. Pity the municipality doesn't take better care of the trash and toilets.

It's late October so it's pretty quiet, only a small proportion of beds still available. Serves food and drink, there's a toilet, a portable type so not the nicest but better than nothing. Free shower. Beds and umbrella are €2.50 each.

Came here everyday over two weeks for takeaway gyro. Gyro was good, ordered the same option everytime but waiters still got our order wrong. Was worse because we were coming twice a day for 2 weeks. Not sure why, seems like there’s no dockets given to the kitchen so chefs go of memory, simple fix might make things run smoothly. Was good gyro and perfect location which is why it didn’t bother us to much and kept coming back. Owner was really nice but could have had better service from waiters as were usually just sitting at the bar smoking whilst tables waiting to be served

Quite and nice beach with a dark grey sand. A lot of rocks in the entrance to the water. Quite shallow..good to come with kids. Sun beds are old, but ok. In the bar you can buy water, beers, some snacks

My recent visit to the bar left me rather underwhelmed, to say the least. I found the overall experience quite disappointing. The establishment, regrettably, fell short in several key aspects. Firstly, the bar's menu left much to be desired. It offered only a limited selection of snacks and basic drinks. For a discerning patron looking for a more varied and interesting choice of refreshments, this was rather disheartening. The lack of diverse options may deter those seeking a more comprehensive culinary experience. Moreover, the ambiance was not quite up to par. The quality of the sand was substandard, which is particularly relevant if the establishment markets itself as a beach-themed venue. A pristine beach setting can contribute significantly to the overall atmosphere, but in this case, it failed to deliver. One concerning aspect that came to my attention was the reported rudeness towards children, as mentioned in other reviews. An unwelcoming attitude towards families is certainly something the management should address promptly. A family-friendly environment is often a selling point for such establishments, and any incidents of discourteous behavior towards children should be addressed urgently. In conclusion, my visit to this bar left me with a less than favorable impression. The limited menu options, lackluster ambiance, and reports of rudeness towards children make it unlikely that I will return in the future. I sincerely hope that these issues are addressed, as it could potentially improve the overall experience for patrons.

Extremely nice place to spend your day by the beach! Great water, nice music, good food and great service. Maria gave all her best to provide us with top notch experience, so did the busser! Great addition is the nearby waterland which will make you feel like a child again 🙃

"My recent visit to this beach left me deeply disappointed, and I feel compelled to share my experience for the sake of transparency. While it may have received numerous positive reviews, my own encounter was far from enjoyable. First and foremost, I must highlight an unfortunate incident that unfolded during my time at the beach. I was taken aback by a distressing situation. A lady, whose behavior can only be described as shocking, began to scream at a young child. This child, who appeared to be no more than five years old, was told in no uncertain terms to pick up a piece of litter that had unintentionally blown onto the floor. Now, one can understand the importance of keeping public spaces clean, but the manner in which this lady chose to address the situation was entirely disproportionate. Her loud and aggressive response to what was clearly an innocent accident not only startled the family but left the child looked in question deeply upset. Such behavior towards children is not only inappropriate but also completely uncalled for. Furthermore, it's disheartening to note that this incident was not isolated, as it appears to be indicative of the overall atmosphere at this beach. It's concerning to see that the owners or management of Faros beach seem to tolerate or even condone such behavior. A truly customer-oriented establishment should prioritize not only the cleanliness of the premises but also a respectful and welcoming environment for all patrons. In light of this experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this beach to others. Cyprus boasts a plethora of beautiful beaches that offer a far more pleasant and respectful atmosphere. I encourage fellow travelers to explore these alternative options, where they can enjoy the natural beauty of the island without encountering such distressing incidents. In conclusion, while this beach may have received glowing reviews, my personal encounter was marred by an unfortunate incident and a concerning lack of management response. I sincerely hope that such issues are addressed in the future to ensure a more positive experience for all visitors."

The beach isn't very well looked after there wasn't much going the sun loungers where really overpriced for what they are I have been to other beaches in Cyprus and most of them are better than faros

Love this beach as its sooo relaxing and the water much cleaner than finikothes. The cafe also get traditional Cypriot sandwiches delivered to you to your sunbeds.
