A fabulous haven of ancient architecture set inside beautiful walls. The atmosphere is serene and the number of ancient buildings is staggering.
There are lovely small restaurants and cafes who welcome your custom after many businesses went bankrupt during the Covid lockdowns. This is an absolute ‘must see’ for anyone visiting Northern Cyprus.

This is a historical place and a tourist center, very close to ghost town where the war between Greece and Cyprus started, its a very popular place in Greece, which housed a very beautiful beach, a fine art house with beautiful arts (pics)

Busy hotel with lots of rooms. Plenty of sunbeds but can be extremely busy in the 1 restaurant thats open. The all inclusive package is good value for money. I was there as part of a RSD week after tour. Being big doesn't necessarily make it better. Good customer relations team after they accidentally gave away our room after we had checked in leaving us with no room. Casino is mobbed with queues mostly locals. Very smokey environment. Wouldn't go back thats not a reflection on the hotel but prefer smaller hotels.
Sandra Segal — Google review
A lovely hotel with wonderful service and good facilities.
The all-inclusive concept is great, and the variety and quality of the foods available for breakfast, lunch and dinner is astounding. It also included all drinks from all bars, including cocktails, some of which were made on request even though not on the menu.
There is a Chinese restaurant within the complex and on some nights they set up an Italian restaurant area, but with the huge variety (including often Chinese/Asian style foods) all freshly prepared by the chefs in the dining hall, there's largely no point in paying extra for "special" dining.
Double room was spacious and comfortable, with a good view from the main building of the sea, the pools and the surrounding areas.
There are two decent sized outdoor pools with a toddlers pool too in the main area, and a further pool/water slide area within the complex to the front, along with some basic tennis/football/basketball courts. The beach is in the immediate vicinity and accessible via a quick walk down from the pool area.
There is also a nice indoor pool and spa, with steam room, sauna and Turkish bath, with massage and pamper services available.
If I could have improved anything it would be:-
- free minibar replacements within the all-inclusive - it doesn't really make sense to allow unlimited food and drink (including alcohol) at any of the bars and the dining hall, but then charge for individual items in the minibar. These are low value and a small number of mostly soft drinks which are only going to be refilled once a day anyway.
- improve the evening entertainment - there was a great dance show at the Amphitheatre one night, but other than that it was usually a generic singer/musician at the pool stage
- TV channels a little limited, perhaps at least one movie channel would have been nice
These are minor points however and are not enough to take away from what was a great stay.
The hotel is close to Famagusta with a scheduled daily bus, and a taxi costs around £15, so it's nicely placed for access to the town for sightseeing.
Bottom line - would definitely stay again.

Second time staying here. Room is grand. We changes due to walking difficulties and were easily accommodated. Selection of food in the restaurant is really good. Casino good for entertainment. Guest relations speak very good English and helped with any queries we had.

Hotel and service great !
It’s such a good hotel to relax in. We payed for all inclusive and the food and drinks were good. The bedrooms were nice but only feedback on bedrooms is it would be great if we could control the ventilation/aircon unit it’s constantly on and at night it gets very stuffy and if your a very light sleeper you will hear it. The spa water is warmish not hot but still nice. feedback would be to repair the stairs to the swimming pool they were loose and unsafe. The gym looked great ! The Thai and Bali massage was amazing ! Thank you to the two Thai ladies who provided the massage very polite and nice. In the restaurant you have loads of options and the food was nicely seasoned. The bar was also nice and chilled. Outside bar was also nice but be careful were you sit and there are many birds and there’s often poo on the chairs and ground which need clearing up. Unfortunately the outdoor snack bar was not opened Nor was outside entertainment as it’s winter season and they open this for the summer. The top bar at night has live music again nice to just sit down and chill. Beach was nice. Casino nice but very very Smokey so if you don’t like smoking or the smell you won’t enjoy it. Very packed and limited seats. Overall it was ok but slightly intense especially the casino reception as they didn’t explain anything and could be more welcoming. With regards to tourism in this part there isn’t much to do and do your research the hotel is part of the republic of Turkey not cyprus some may know it as north cyprus aswell and If travelling from cyprus eg paphos lanarca etc you will need to go through security and boarder patrol. If you are travelling from England please note non vaccinated people have to provide antigen test and a entry pass for the republic of Turkey not as well as the Cyprus’s pass. In conclusion the hotel was great and the staff were friendly. I would like to say a big thank you to the two Thai massage therapists who were lovely and great at their job. The Brazilian gym instructor and talip kurt- great customer service, friendly and welcoming. Joel who is I think is a supervisor or manager was great and welcoming always had a smile and was happy to help :) I would definitely recommend this place.

So, it was crowded. However, the food was excellent, fresh with lots of variety. The property is also very well maintained, better than any of the hotels like it I’ve stayed in either here or in southern and western Turkey. Very nice amenities.
Michael DeBusk — Google review
Nice experience. Very clean premises, every day themed dinner and very wide options of food for everyone.
The beach is often crowded, but that is what you get at resorts of this type. For 75EUR you can get a pier pavilion with service included, so that is definitely worth it. Take it when there is a nice sunny weather and not windy.
Pavel Vydra — Google review
I had a really great time here and created long lasting memories. The beach and pier area were my favourite spot of the resort. If you enjoy beaches with crystal clear waters you won't be disappointed. The entertainment was very good except for Sunday where they are on break. The food was excellent. Food is fresh and variety is very good. I also recommend the Chinese restaurant. The buffet area can get busy in peak times so going earlier at 7.30 for breakfast is recommended. Late breakfast at 10 is also possible. We spent time in both pools which where very clean. All the staff were hard at work to make our holiday a great experience so compliments to all of them especially Ugur at the pool bar
adrian hedley — Google review
This hotel is great, stayed there for 6 days. probably the best value for money I have ever had. Beach is beautiful, pools are great, the entertainment staff is perfect, lots of food and drinks all day every day. I gave it a 4 because I feel like food was not amazing, you can find tasty stuff but most of it was disappointing. Also some of the staff is great, and welcoming and friendly (house keeping, entertaining staff) but much of the staff is just not friendly at all (check in staff and manager, bartenders and food makers in pools area).

I have been coming to this Hotel for Many Many Years, The Rooms nice and clean spacious, quality of drinks all to the best standard. I would also like to send regards to Cemaliye from the Guest Relations who also makes sure we have the best holiday and resolves any issues that may occur on our vacation. Highly recommended 👌

Nice place, lovely people and a good variety of food (all inclusive).
However it would be much better if there was an indoor swimming pool for adults only (too much noise by the kids)
Melina Theocharous — Google review
Don't bother. Unfriendly staff. Rubbish, repetitive food. Very few options for soft drinks. Very few people working on the bar. Tables not cleared quickly enough in dining room. Pool was closed but is very small in any case. Not worth the hype.
Megan Smith — Google review
This is the go to place, from one to one hundred and one, total energy. The best baristas with the best coffee . Two massive pools . Top entertainment. All inclusive is recommended, as when you want some drinks may it be alcohol, or soft drinks , it is well worth the money paid. Top staff, top food and most of all the island . Absolutely we would go back in a heart beat . I must admit that we don't normally return to a hotel. In the case it's a nailed on destination.

We stayed in this hotel in June and it was perfect. The rooms are old but we spent in the room just for nap or over the night. There is nothing around the hotel, but we never mind. I traveled with family, we enjoyed really nice sea and the kids parts of pools. Hotel staff were really nice and always smile. Plenty of foods and drinks. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our experience at the Salamis Hotel was great! All the staff we encountered during our stay were incredibly approachable, polite, and friendly. The evening entertainment offered a diverse range of activities that catered to all age groups and nationalities. We had the pleasure of meeting Jean, who was an absolute ball of energy and a fantastic communicator. With his enthusiasm, he got everyone involved in activities like aqua aerobics and Zumba, making it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. Our accommodation, a 2-bedroom Duplex villa, was lovely and comfortable. However, we did encounter a small issue with the air conditioning and an unusual smell. Nevertheless, the hotel staff promptly addressed the problem and moved us to a different room within a few hours, ensuring it had minimal impact on our overall holiday experience. Their quick response and efficiency were commendable. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible variety of food available. The quality of the meals exceeded our expectations, and there was something to suit every palate. Moreover, the dining options were available almost round the clock, ensuring we never went hungry during our entire stay. In conclusion, our time at the Salamis Hotel was truly delightful. From the welcoming staff to the entertaining activities and delicious food, it was a very positive and memorable vacation We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful holiday experience.

The hotel in general is very nice. The food is surprisingly good. You don’t get tons of different looking but tasting same kind of food. There may be a limited variety compared to other hotels but they all taste pretty good - especially the deserts. I am not sure how it becomes during the peak season but in end of September I had a pleasant experience.

Very nice resort for relaxation as well as sport. We stayed for 2 nights in the off-season and had a great experience. Very friendly hotel staff, who were always available for assistance. Great sport opportunities like indoor gym, pool, tennis and volleyball and a big buffet for every meal. Would stay here again

Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The food was simply outstanding, with a wide variety and exceptional quality that truly impressed me. From delightful snacks to freshly baked pastries in the café, every meal was a delightful experience.
Moreover, the spacious and immaculately clean rooms provided the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. What truly stood out to me was the hotel's family-friendly atmosphere, which made me feel right at home. The array of daily events, from lively pool parties to captivating concerts, ensured there was never a dull moment.
One of the highlights of my stay was the attentive and accommodating staff who were always on hand to assist with any request. Their proficiency in English made communication effortless and added to the overall convenience of my experience.
In summary, my time at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. It's the perfect destination for families and travelers alike, offering unparalleled hospitality, delectable cuisine, and a vibrant atmosphere that guarantees an unforgettable stay.

It was a fantastic experience. As first, thanks to the front office team, they upgraded our room and provided us a villa. We have to send another big thanks to Hediye who meticulously cleaned our villa every day with a constant smile. Although the building may seem a bit old, the excellent service will completely overshadow it. We will definitely come back again.

Very interesting experience. Had difficulty to find it by navigation. You can rent a bike for a faster tour in the area. Bikes are nightmare and made for kids, but they rent it for adults too. Seat goes down and doesn't stay at the level you make. My advice- use your feets.

Gorgeous place. Working hours at 8 am - 5 pm. You get a sense of serenity and peace the moment you enter the place. The town is filled with beautiful trees while the ocean is crystal clear.
Kawai — Google review
You are awed by the sheer devastation that must have been 1974. Famagusta Ghost town is like walking on a film set, waiting for zombies to appear! The beach with all its hotels staring into the Mediterranean sea, apart from the fact they are all bare, deserted and left almost 50 years ago! Abandoned, hoteliers with their customers leaving behind everything except their clothes on their backs! It's sad but engulfed in history that you have to witness it to believe it.
Gary Dickinson — Google review
What an amazing place. Time stopped in 1974. There are bombed out buildings and large caliber bullet holes on others. Most buildings are in tact. Although you cannot go in the buildings there are still signs usable. One building advertises Color Film processing and that they take old style Diners Club credit cards. It's very surreal. It's well worth a few hours. You can pay to be taken around in a golf cart, you can rent a bike, you can rent scooters, or you can just walk around. What a cool place to go.
Joe McDonald — Google review
This place is an absolute must see - it feels like you are on a movie set, only everything is real. You can easily use 2-3 hours here and still not see everything.
You feel the vibe once was and it sometimes catches you as being a bit scary. I for sure wouldn’t like walking alone around here in the dark hours at night.
I feel for the thousands of displaced people that lost everything and I wish for them that they one day will be able to return and get back all their properties they lost during the war in 1974.
Johnny Højfeldt — Google review
Nice little bar/restaurant on the beach. Only had drinks but very good prices. Service was OK. Other people's food looked really nice.
K K — Google review
A very surreal place! To see such a sad ghost town where obviously was once beautiful, busy holiday resorts, turned to empty, sad buildings. But turn the corner and you are met with the most beautiful, tranquil (when looking out to sea), soft sanded beach🏖️ and the water is absolutely clear and so warm.🌅 Although it felt a little odd when the little fish came to nibble on our toes! 🐟👣
The restaurant on the front was lovely and the food was delicious.
It makes me want to live here forever 😍
Toria J — Google review
The entrance is free. You can rent a bicycle or a golf cart. I recommend walking, to spot as many details as possible. It felt like a town-scale museum. Make of it what you will, it's as much a story about ethnic tension and international politics as it is about nature's indifference to it all, as the trees grow from roads and buildings. Or see it zombie apocalypse or a videogame. Either way, try to learn about and from this place. Time heals, but some wounds take more than a lifetime to heal. This place is a wound.
Constantin Ruge — Google review
Ghost town...empty (except tourists) street, overgrown houses. Cool to see and learn about the history, can be visited in under 1h. Whats funny/sad is that the villages around the ghost town domt look much better under current government.

As a result of the fact that the two nations could not live on the same lands without conflict, I can say that it is a somewhat frightening, gloomy, glorious, sad and striking town as it was emptied almost overnight years ago. You will feel many emotions at the same time. Yes, I recommend you stop by here. It takes about 1 hour 30 minutes from Kyrenia and 1 hour from Nicosia Ercan Airport (ECN). Please obey all warning signs. No vehicle entry. Entrance to the area is made under police control. Inside, you will come across officials almost everywhere. At some points, UN military forces will also say a cold hello to you. (Not verbally!) When you go to the left after the entrance of the area, a small but wonderful beach with sand and sea will be waiting for you. Do not go back without taking this opportunity.
Nazim Karaosmanoglu — Google review
After having visited the outskirts of Varosha a few years ago, we jumped at the chance to explore inside the city now that the UN has opened it up. It was an eye opener to see the run-down buildings after nearly 50 years of neglect. You could imagine what it was like for the people of Varosha who were given just 48hrs to pack up and leave, thinking they could return sometime in the future but still can not return.
Malcolm Brazier — Google review
An amazing place to learn about the history of Cyprus and how it was lost it time of 1970's. Felt very sad too and a little eerie seeing all the empty shops and houses going derelict that were once full of life. You only have access to certain roads and it is mostly fenced of and security guarded, but definitely worth a visit to walk or cycle around. Their was some information boards. No cars allowed. Their is access to a lovely beach at the bottom with cafe and toilets. Access is free

Visited as part of the Original Red Bus Tour Famagusta/Varosha, very strange experience seeing newish building next to the abandoned derelict 1970s buildings, stunning beach with crystal clear water and white sand, easy to see why famous people stayed here in the 70s. Such a waste of what was and could be an amazing resort, very sad.

It's really fascinating to see an entire town empty. Love to see inside the buildings...but then again...probably not. The story surrounding all of this and the personal testimonials we got from past residents living and working here is heart breaking.

Subterranean cavern with stalagmites, stalactites & a reflective lake, accessed by boat or on foot.
Breathtaking views scenery both outside and inside must see. Entry fee as of today was 19TL definitely with it. I recommend once inside cave go all the way down first then slowly come back up enjoying cave views as straight up can be tiring. Great lake view at bottom.
Ayse Oz — Google review
These caves are a must visit if you are anywhere near. They are massive and truly one off earth natural wonders. There are so many large stalactites and stalactites and columns and there is lighting there to show them off. It's a long way down but there is a clear water lake at the very bottom. There is a man made metal stairs to the very bottom and it's 320 steps back up to the cave entrance. It's very warm in the caves. Big free car park, tarmac road to get there. There is a coffee restaurant and toilets and the ticket price is about 24 lira.
Richard Attoe — Google review
An amazing view opens up before your eyes - green trees, blue waters and high rocks. The colors are stunning, the height - impressive.
Going into the cave you feel a sudden heat wave, the lights are dim and the oxygen is low. There are quite many stairs, but it's worth it once you see the astonishing beauty of the cave structures. There is a crystal-like shining layer over the rocks.
At the bottom you see a crystal clear lake witb rocks reflecting from its calm waters.
It's the most beautiful cave I've ever see! ❤️🇹🇷🗻
Svetoslava Nacheva — Google review
This is the most beautiful cave I have seen so far. The entrance is located on the wall overlooking the sea and you have to go down the stairs in order to reach it. Once inside, the number and size of stalactites will take your breath away. You just have to go deeper and deeper, across open areas and small path until you reach the amazing lake that lies at the bottom of it. If you are driving around Southern Turkey, don't miss the opportunity to visit this cave! The entrance fee was less than 2€.
Alexandru Ioan — Google review
This cave is amazingly beautiful and the management has done a very good job of making it accessible. The entire length of the attraction, from the top of the hill to the bottom of the cave is paved with metal walkways with rails and great traction. Myself and many of the other guests were fat and out of shape but it is still easy to get to the bottom and back to the top again if you take a slow pace. It is very hot and very humid inside the cave so you will get very very sweaty. I recommend bringing a second shirt you can change into before leaving.

A longer drive from Mersin than Heaven & Hell caves but so much better! If you go early you can enjoy the cave all to yourself (or almost). Definitely worth the trip!

Super cool seaside cave 🌊🦇🤩
This cave is pretty remarkable because it's a stones throw away from the Mediterranean Sea but as you go down it's winding corridors you actually stumble onto a small underground freshwater lake that's crystal clear turquoise blue 💙🔵💙
I honestly don't think I have seen a cave quite like this one as far as sheer size of the chambers of the cave as well as the actual size of the structures inside of the cave goes 🤯
Going down the rusty staircase of death which brings you from the cliffside down by the ocean into the mouth of the cave You get some pretty great views of the coastline and a phenomenal little sunset viewpoint 👌👌👌
I really enjoyed climbing around this big bad girl and the giant lagoon in the bottom of this cavern was the icing on the cake 💝🌠😍

Beautiful limestone formations though with lots of stairs - 568 steps going in and then you start back. That does not count the ramp leading to the stairs. The fee was very reasonable. The blue pool at the bottom is beautiful and clear!

Stunnig beauty of the Mediterranean. Be there for the sunrise or sinset and your heart and soul will be forever locked to that horizon line. The golden sands shine like crystal in the sun and an amazing place to fully experience the beauty of this island. The road is quite bumpy and old, and narrow. You need to think about what car you wanna drive to the top of that area. You'll see the beautiful donkeys local to this island. Don't freak out if they push their heads through the windows of your car. They are used to receiving fruit and carrots from visitors. However, do not leave the kids and babies unattended around them. Afterall, the donkeys are not domestic though sociable.

Perfect park for everyone to spend their weekend or leisure time, either alone, with friends or family. You can walk along the coastal area and enjoy the cold breeze sea air. There's also a mini amusement park, benches and swings.

Excellent service. We love coming for breakfast here. Tasty food, attentive stuff and a beautiful location by the water. There is an administrator here that speaks fluent English and is super friendly and professional. You could recognize him by a moustache.
PS: if you like strong, dark roasted coffee, you need to try it here.
PPS: our bill here was always correct, unlike other places.

Nice marina with plenty of nice shops and restaurants. Staff at the entrance barrier are very kind and helpful. Nice walk along the promenade into Mersin. Would defo recommend this place during the day or evening fir a meal and walk around the shops and look at the boats.

This a beautiful shopping center with lots of cafes and an amusement park. The yachts and shops give the impression of luxury, but the prices are affordable. I like the vibe of the place. Unfortunately, there was garbage (plastics) floating in the water, and I can't understand why people ignore the garbage problem. I'm not happy with the littering problem here in Mersin, but I won't just complain. I will do my part to clean up this beautiful town and educate others about keeping the environment beautiful.

Tarsus Waterfall, located in Mersin, Turkey, is a popular tourist spot known for its stunning natural beauty. The waterfall was formed when the Berdan Stream changed its course in the 5th century, creating an impressive cascade that attracts visitors with its enthusiastic appearance, especially in spring. Surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation, the waterfall offers public viewing platforms and restaurant options where visitors can enjoy a bite amidst the fragrant jasmines and tranquil waters.
Tarsus is a great place to visit, and the waterfall's are great, but could do with a tidy up!
MarZar — Google review
We visited here as part of our trip to Tarsus and really enjoyed it. Access is through a restaurant, although we did not stop to eat. Entrance is completely free as is the large car park.
The waterfall is wide and beautiful, but the part we liked the most was the friendly atmosphere from the locals.
There are picnic tables set up around the viewing site and they were packed with local people coming here to have a picnic breakfast, and were also singing and dancing, in fact they invited us to share their breakfast and dance with them.
There is a duck pond outside with a waterfall which also connects to the main falls. We'll worth going and bring a picnic!

The Varda Viaduct is an impressive architectural marvel characterized by its soaring structure and dramatic arches. It gained popularity after its appearance in the James Bond movie "Skyfall". Though worth a visit, drivers should be aware that there is only one passage through the tunnel, which is a one-way road. Visitors are advised to come early in the morning when it's less busy as photo taking spots can be dangerous.
German made bridge from 1912, Nice view

Safety warning. You need to drive carefully to this place, the road is narrow, after driving for an hour in a narrow road you will be reaching a cafe where you can rest and enjoy the view of the bridge. Only sandwiches and drinks, no kebap lol. We left the area and had our nice grilled sucuk at ( Tekir Zirve Restaurant), located on the top of the mountain where the view is also amazing.
RUMAISA KOUSA — Google review
Only worth visiting if you are driving close by. I didn't really see the draw here. Nice bridge, but way too many other things to see if your time is limited like mine was on vacation. Not easy to get to either. Seems most people go here just because it was in a James Bond movie. Skip it!

what a magnificent piece of work! this 100-meter-high vidaduct is a combined effort of german engineering and turkish muscle force, constructed more than 100 years ago. the road to the bridge is dangerous and for the most part consists of single lane but it's definitely worth to change the route to see this bridge.

Varda Viaduct is an impressive artifact of German engineering. It was built between 1907-1912 during the Ottoman period. It is a steel superstructure covered with stone blocks. It is very impressive and made worldwide famous with the Bond movie Skyfall.
It's an hour drive from Adana and deserves every effort spent to visit it.
While there, one must try the sweets of the car salesman. He cooks at the premise, the sweets are always fresh and very cheap ( three pieces/$)
The Stone Bridge was constructed around 200 A.D. and spans the Seyhan River. It remained open to traffic until 2007 and is still standing today. The bridge exhibits a simplistic yet stunning design, in contrast to modern bridges. On the opposite side of the bridge lies the old town and Ataturk museum, which are worth exploring. There are also several charming cafes and ice cream shops nearby, as well as street vendors selling various items like prayer beads and underwear.
Lovely little cafes and ice cream places about. Couple of buskers added to the atmosphere.Lots of trees so could enjoy the morning sitting in the shade with a cup of tea!

A beautiful, well-preserved bridge. You can stroll to the other end and back, just as people have done for many hundreds of years. A view of the huge mosque to the north makes for a nice view. There's not too much to do at the bridge, so I'd recommend next heading towards that mosque through the riverside park on the west bank there, as the nice part of town is in that direction. Though beware of aggressive beggars and peddlers at the mosque.

The Sabanci Merkez Mosque in Adana is a grand structure that was opened in 1998. It boasts an Ottoman-style interior and is covered entirely in luxurious marble and gold leaf. With six minarets and a towering central dome that reaches 54 meters high, it can house up to 28,500 worshippers. This impressive mosque, built by philanthropist Sakip Sabanci, is the largest between Istanbul and Saudi Arabia.

If you are coming to the Mosque after seeing Taş köprü there is shortcut, an underground passage to the mosque but the passage stinks with urine and filth. You can make a bigger loop and pass through a traffic lights which are a bit far. But if you go through the underground passage the smell is terrible. Looks like an abandoned place. If you can bear the smell you can pass through it fast and reach the beautiful mosque that is worth visiting. I think municipal authorities should pay attention to this.

It was surely an amazing piece of nature but the waterfall ways were filled with mass of concrete and dozens of restaurants and vendors are now sorounding the water. Some restaurants placed their tables right into the water so you can cool yourself both drinking and having your feet in icy water. The overall concept is kinda vulgar, the trash around isnt being collected properly so you dont want to walk away from the main routes. The decoration of some places is quite absurd... combining everything... Anyway it was a nice walk and we cooled ourselves after superhot Antakya.

Amazing place, the food and Nargila is not that good there, you can have a table in the cold water, near the water falls and enjoy the nature, there is also a small market were you can buy some good gifts , the place there is full of cars especially in the weekends you give your car to someone to park it for you and then continue walking to the cafes. The Church of St Pierre is a significant historical site located in Antakya, Turkey. Carved into the side of Mt. Staurin and dating back to 1100 CE, it is one of the world's first cave churches and holds great importance in Christianity. It is believed that St. Pierre held the first religious meeting here to spread Christianity, making it a center of Catholicism and a pilgrimage site for Christians. The church also houses a museum and offers stunning views of the city.
Very old and historical church. Located on the hill so you have to walk to the top. The access if very easy. Actually, the inside is just a cave. I think the attractiveness is the rich-history behind this building.
Muhammad Luthfi — Google review
Entrance fee currently the equivalent in TL of €8 but free if you have a museum card.
To be honest there's not a lot to see. Ten minutes max, which is disappointing given the significant impact of the Antiochean church in early church history.

It's closed for renovation works. After the earthquake those works stopped also. I hope the damages are not significant. This is a picture with damages from outside of the museum.

This place, although is small, should be visited for the historical value that it has. As the first church in the world, and another historical site in a city that dates back to the first civilised city-states of the world. It is better to have the museum card as it gives access to all museums and historical sites of Turkey for 1 year.
W Rose Gac — Google review
The church is a small hall in the mountain. You need to know a bit of history and significance of the place to enjoy the atmosphere, have a look at the city view and tolerate the groups of religious tourists ( not to mention a rather expensive entry fee)
Take your time to go around the church (opposite direction of the main entrance). You shall find an amazing number of tunnels dug in the mountains and the figure carved into the mountain. Unfortunately, the path is not marked and cleaned, but it is definitely part of the amazing history where people had to prepare escape ways to flee religious persecution.

The Hatay Archeology Museum is a must-visit attraction, showcasing a remarkable collection of local artifacts from ancient times. The museum boasts an extensive display of Roman and Byzantine mosaics, depicting nature and human life across different periods. Its colossal size befits the historical significance of Hatay, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors are captivated by the conceptualized rooms and sections, setting it apart from other Turkish museums.
One of the great museums you can ever visit, huge and divers collection. Can't be missed if you in Antakya visting it is a must. However, it needs minimum two hours so make sure you have enough time when you go there.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. The photos are misleading. I wouldn’t have stayed here if I had seen the room before I paid. I made a mistake not to book another place beforehand and we had to stay here. Don’t get me wrong I am not a fussy person. I stayed in hostels before. I travelled with my backpack for years. As long as the ad is correct and the place is clean I have no problem but this hotel is not a 3 star hotel and it is not worth 600lira.
The towels were stained and the shower was not clean. Entire floor stank.
The breakfast was not good. The plates were dirty and the butter was left under the sun and melted so I didn’t even try.
If you are too desperate and do not want to stay in your car you can go there and spend the night but no way pay 600lira like I did.
There are lots of hotels in the area and they are pretty good for a little bit more money.

Please WALK back to the center and enjoy the view. I tried to add as much as I could with my 5yr old phone.
The wind, the sun, the silence, the peace is amazing. I hope to visit this place again, when the new sites are ready to display.

A bus takes you to and from the dig site. There's a cafe and gift shop too. Best to use the toilets within the main building.

The drive to the site from Gaziantep was easy and enjoyable, with well-maintained roads and picturesque views of green and yellow flower fields along the way. Upon arrival at the museum, I rented an audio guide and listened to the informative introductory audio about the ice age. I then opted to walk the approximately 1 km up to the site, although there are also frequent shuttles available for those who prefer it. This destination is truly a must-see, boasting some of the most astonishing archaeological discoveries of our time. With ongoing excavations expected to cover an area equivalent to 17 football fields, the site promises endless fascination and exploration.

It’s believed that first agriculture was carried out in history of world. It’s a very impressive, very majestic place. A favorite of the whole world and one of oldest structures it’s curious about. In addition, archaeologists are still continuing to conduct excavations.
When you come to Sanliurfa, don't come back without seeing it.

This is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world, dating back to 12,000 years ago when man were still palaeolithic. The site dates back to pre-pottery and late pottery periods and had been hypothesized to be a critical location that led to the agricultural revolution. It is quite small but we'll laid out and you are able to walk around the site in a circle. Absolutely stunning and a must visit. I don't advise getting the audio guide.

Göbeklitepe has contributed a great deal to our understanding of hunter-gatherer life, animal husbandry, agriculture and livestock migration, sacred architecture and the birth of art. It was abandoned after it continued to be present around 8000 B.C and it was not used for other or similar purposes.
THE OLDEST RELIGIOUS SITE IN THE WORLD
The most interesting findings at Göbeklitepe are the t-shaped monolithic pillars which can reach 6 meters in length and 40 tons in weight. Even though six of these pillars were excavated, geomagnetic measurements found there are round 20 pillars in total. These mysterious pillars were lined in a circular plan with stone walls in between. The pillars make up a round or oval enclosed space surrounding a pair of big pillars in the center of the structure.
Most of the pillars have human, animal or abstract symbols. In addition to these oldest reliefs carved into the stone, three-dimensional animal reliefs are also found. The pillars with hand, arm and finger motifs on its body is interpreted as human statues. From the welcome area the excavation site is reached in one minute by shuttles. The animation and information in the entrance are the kind that can't be missed. The excavation area, which is divided into A, B, C and D, is surrounded by a walking excursion route and its top is closed.

Gobekli Tepe
A 12000 year old structure has been excavated in Turkey close to the Syrian border in Sanliurfa region. The period of the structure falls in the Pre-pottery Neolithic era, about 10000 BCE, when the hunter-gatherers had started settling down probably in the beginning of the agricultural age. The structure was supported on huge ‘T’ shaped stone pillars. Some say that it was a temple orientated to the constellation of Orion. There are figures of birds and animals carved on the pillars. There are distinctly recognizable figures of fox, boar, sheep, duck, vulture, a lizard like reptile, and a tiger like predator.
The excavation so far has been marked in six segments from A to F. A B C & D segments are under the big roof while E & F are outside the big stadium like roof. The efforts at conservation of the excavated area are remarkable.
There’s a museum in Sanliurfa where the excavated artifacts are displayed. In one section the T-shaped pillars are arranged and covered with a ceiling in a prototype of the temple. The best attraction in the Urfa museum is the URFA MAN.

Wow wow wow! We’ve traveled extensively throughout Turkey and visited many ancient sites. This place has been very well planned out, very informative and well designed. There has been reviews about the shuttle bus taking a long time. We did not experience this. It was fast and very efficient. We hope in the future to visit again and see all the progress they make in uncovering many more things!

Fabulous archeological site. Beautifully presented and although work is in progress, was still able to view what has been discovered. A Neolithic wonder about 11,000 years old. Well worth the long travel to see the ancient carvings on the T pillars.

I am most impressed by the unity of man and nature depicted as proto-zoomorphic gods, whose attributes are attached to the human-shaped monoliths. These were times when man was one with the macrocosmos - before organised religion, before states and empires corrupted man with power.

Oh my…beautiful. What a place. My brain struggles to take in the fact that man / womankind designed and built this place not that long after the last ice age. I also was shocked to find out this site is one of many in the area. I am so happy I can say ‘I was there’

A must see if you are in south Turkey. One of the most ancient archeological finds in human history Gobeklitepe span a 12000 years of time. Definitely worth the drive. Easy to rent a car and drive there even on your own. Not need for tours. I did this by my self, rented a car in Adana and slowly got there, stopped in Gaziantep for one night, then drove to Urfa the closest town near the site where you can also visit the famous pools of Abraham

Zero point in time! A Neolithic place that dates 10.000 BC it changed some of the common beliefs about prehistory. Excavations started in 1995 , it makes 30 years but only 30% of the site is opened.

Göbeklitepe is a journey back to the very dawn of civilization, an archaeological wonder that challenges our understanding of human history. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, approximately 12,000 years old, predates even the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. Its massive, T-shaped pillars, beautifully engraved with reliefs of animals and abstract symbols, evoke awe and curiosity.
The visitor center provides a comprehensive introduction with a replica of Göbeklitepe, introductory films, and various souvenirs. Although some visitors have noted the site could benefit from more detailed information about the steles and the society that built them, the sheer antiquity and mystery of Göbeklitepe compensate for this.
Göbeklitepe is easily accessible from Sanliurfa, and it's recommended to visit between April and October for the most pleasant weather. Comfortable clothing is advised due to the region's warm climate. Whether you're an archaeology enthusiast or just curious about ancient civilizations, Göbeklitepe offers a unique glimpse into a forgotten era of human history. Its significance lies in its status as possibly the world's oldest temple, a testament to the ingenuity of our hunter-gatherer ancestors
Orzujon Ahrorov — Google review
This place has impacted me lot. Some people there said it is only stone, nothing to see but for me it is impressive. Knowing that this place is 12 thousand years old and people were still hunters during that time, it is not clear how they architected and built this temple. I even thought extraterrestrial beings helped humanity to build this site. Because agriculture started after this time. I still don’t understand how hunters built something beautiful like this site 12 thousand years ago because building large temples requires coordination, society and money. It is the oldest known temple and human settlement. It changed human knowledge on our evolution. Definitely must see.

Great view and very nice weather. You need to book an appartment and prepare all your needs from outside the area because every thing is very very expensive. You dont expect a good service also. I think the place needs to be observed much better by the authorities and government.

I think this is one of the overrated places. Maybe is beauty during summer and definitely not in the winter. Whoever wanna visit, please avoid during winter time. It is a bit difficult to get there, hence i join the tour. Is around one hour + away from Trabzon city centre. Spend a day trip also not too bad, unless you have many things to do, then overnight can be an ideal. During winter almost 85% shop is close. But there is theme park and some others things you could do during non winter time. View from the top deck is a bit far, then walking around the lake is pretty. Wanted visit to mosque, but it was close at that time. The cutest things i discover is their cinema beside the lake, however also close during winter. There are many shop, hotel, and restaurant surrounded this lake.

The Çifte Minareli Medrese is a 13th century religious school built in the Seljuk style, located in Erzurum. The standout features of the structure are its two towering minarets made of fluted brick with ornate blue tile designs. Erzurum Çifte Minareli Madrasa Foundation Works Museum was built in the last quarter of the 13th century. The madrasa was first built during the Saltuklu period, and except for the main iwan, its other parts were demolished and it became the current building during the Ilkhanid period. The madrasa, which was used as "Tophane" for a while and then as "Barracks" by the order of Murad IV, one of the Ottoman sultans, served as Erzurum Museum between 1942 and 1967, and as both a museum and an art exhibition hall for a while. Today, this building is designed as a museum that emphasizes the history of the period of the Foundations and the texture of the city.

This Seljuk architecture is very different from regular Ottoman structures around Türkiye. The differences are clear in patterns and its fascinating that the same people under different empires built such precise carved out stones!

It is a very essential historical boarding school. Not only were islamic sciences taught here, but astronomy, Phytotherapy, musicotherapy, music, calender and time was studied here. Umfortunately these all valuable studies are only dated before 15th century. Afterwards, this school was gradually formed into a lodges of Sects, and science was abandoned. At the end of the 19th century, the school was almost a ruin. The boarding school is now a museum and was restrored several times in republican era.

Batumi's Batumi Boulevard is a charming seaside promenade that runs from the city port to the Dancing Fountains. The wide boulevard is home to cafes, restaurants, family attractions, sculptures, benches and more.
Vibrant green space along the Black Sea featuring musical fountains, exercise paths, cafes & bars.
The Boulevard has a wide paved walking path next to the beach with the gardens and a cycling track behind it. Numerous sculptures, mosaics and fountains including two dancing fountains are also part of the boulevard.
Home to many restaurants, cafes and bars, a mini-zoo and some other structures like a theater. With the growth in tourism, a lot of modern hotels, apartments and other buildings have sprung up along the sea shore and the view from the boulevard is one of modern buildings.
The beach is spotless and not too crowded. It's a stony beach and has pebbles instead of sand. Thankfully, there are many benches along the boulevard. Being oriented to the west, the beach also has great sunset views.
Pavewalk is amazing as it covers many beautiful shops.

Batumi Boulevard is a 7km walking path and a separate bike path. Being here in February you never get the true feeling of this wonderful Boulevard but is was still very nice walk. There many attractions to be found along the boulevard. Statues like the first love, dancing water fountains, misc. rentals like bikes and two wheel scooters. At the far end in town you will find Ali and Nino a unique metal statue that moves so that these two lovers flow through each other. We would definitely recommend using the boulevard as there is so much to see and do. I can only imagine what the warmer months would look like.

The lines was long but they moved fast.
We went up around 18:00 we saw the sunset and came down after we saw the view at night.
You can buy coffee on the mountain top and we enjoyed Georgian dance show .

Established in 1912, the Batumi Botanical Garden boasts a vast collection of subtropical plant species and offers guided tours. The garden is located on the slopes of mountains overlooking the Black Sea and features both local and non-local flora. Visitors are advised to allocate at least 3-4 hours to explore the main attractions, with a full day being ideal. However, there are no food outlets available on-site, so visitors should bring their own provisions for picnics.
Beautiful place. Multiple amazing local and non local plans good organized on the slopes of the mountains above the sea. Better to plan at least 3-4 hours there just to see main spots. I'd recommend to spent whole day there, but bring food with you, there are picnic areas, but food is not for sale on site. If you aren't ready to walk a lot you can use golf cars to reach most popular view points

Of course! Batumi Botanical Garden is located on the Black Sea coast of Georgia and covers over 100 hectares. It is home to thousands of species of plants from all over the world, and is known for its beautiful views of the sea. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

A pretty botanical garden. A nice place to go on a walk. Many places with shade to cool down from the sun, and benches to sit down and rest. Friendly dogs to guide us. Entrance cost 20GEL.

Beautiful botanical garden. Highly recommend to visit. One day is not enough to see everything. There is a shuttle bus number 10. Inside there is only a snack, there is no full-fledged food - coffee, ice cream. inside there is a bus to 7-9 seats, it costs 5 GEL per person. Rides between the extreme entrances.

A very nice place to visit, but the hike is a little hard, but there are golf-carts that operate in the park.
there is a good restaurant at the end of the route, and also a great beach section that you can access.
the botanical garden itself is amazing with many beautiful flowers and trees.

This place is huge. I don't know if it's even possible to walk all the trails in a single day, although the main route is definitely doable. A bit of uphill, so be aware if you have mobility issues. The views of the sea are unparalleled.

Easily accessible with bus number 10 from Batumi center. You can pay with credit card for the bus ticket.
I would recommend coming to the garden in the morning or around midday and bringing some food with you - they’re so many beautiful plant species; different sections of origin and siting areas that you can peacefully spend the whole day there.
The sea panorama views are magnificent.

Good fun in this beautiful place, needs to have a better navigation solution, as some of the physical guidance arrows were broken. An app maybe? Some spots along the route were not fully sorted. Overall a very nice place that needs fixing.

Amazing botanic garden. Super huge and beautiful. It takes around 3hours to walk around, so be prepared. It is also pretty humid . The trees are so beautiful, very big and lovely. The view is breathtaking, and there is a lovely beach next to the botanical garden.

It's beautiful, it's big, it's serene! Many picnic locations with a black sea view. Facilities like toilets, gazebos and food and drink stands are all around. It's such a nice place to have a getaway from the big and bustling Batumi. There's a lot of biodiversity, separated in different sections classified in different sections (like the bamboo forest).

We were not lucky with weather, because it was raining heavily, but in general it was very nice experience. You need like 3-4 hours to explore the most interesting parts of the garden. Here is a tip: walk through the entire garden (if you park your car in the entrance closer to BATUMI), because mostly you will walk downhill and take an electric car on the way back. I mean you can walk both ways it’s not that big, but if you are short on time use my tip.
You can also get to seaside when you are in lower part of the garden. It was very beautiful there.
The only thing I didn’t like is that entrance fee, guide, electric cars etc is for full price for foreigners and only half price for Georgian citizens. Not a big fan of those practices. Otherwise all good 👍
Roman Samkharadze — Google review
Very nice place to walk with a entrance is 20 GEL. Nice view of the Batumi and north Black sea coast. Zip line 70 GEL. No food inside the garden, only in entrances. Electric cars can take you to the opposite park side. Many different trees.

It's magnificent. In 2023 it costs 20 lari for foreigners, You can take a ride in an electrical car, but we prefer to walk. It's better to come in the morning and spend there the whole day. After that, you can have beach time. Take your snacks in advance, shops there have only beverages and ice cream.

I can't make a good review I just make a review on the price which I find too much especially the camping prices for 50 a night! It's more expensive than being in Hotels in Batumi! Also during the time I was there it wasn't looking as nice due to the winter season! We at the end did some camping next to the botanical garden for free because it's legal in this country to do wild camping.
Also for tourists it is way more expensive. I want to visit it maybe in summer so to give a proper review but for now it's what I have to say.

The Castle of Kars is a reconstructed fortress on a hill overlooking the Kars River, first built by the Saltuk Turks in 1153 and later destroyed by Tamerlane in 1386. It has been rebuilt several times since and contains a variety of structures such as a Janissary barracks, an arsenal, a small mosque, and the tomb of Celal Baba who died during a Mongol attack. The castle offers stunning views of the city below and surrounding mountains.
This castle, built in 1152 by vizier Firuz Akay by the order of Sultan Melik İzzeddin during the Saltuklu Principality, is a monument not only made of stone and brick, but also bearing the traces of history and emotions. Here are my feelings and thoughts while wandering around this fascinating building:
When I started to tour the castle step by step, I was impressed by the atmosphere of this place intertwined with history. The solidity of its stone walls symbolized the power of time and the durability of this masterpiece created by human hands. When I walked in, I felt like ghosts of the past. All the events that took place here, all the words spoken here were felt as living memories in the marks on the walls.
This castle is not just a structure, but also a personality that has witnessed the lives of many people. Saltuklu Sultan Melik Izzeddin's idea of having this castle built was perhaps a reflection of the power and magnificence of his time. Timur's destruction, III. Reconstruction by order of Murad, destruction by Shah Abbas I of Iran and subsequent repairs; all these reflected people's devotion to this castle and its historical importance.
While visiting the castle, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about the flow of history. All the events that took place here and the efforts spent to repair this castle help us understand the history of humanity. People fought, repaired and rebuilt to defend this castle. This castle represents the resilience and determination of humanity.
Castle walls are a place where history speaks loudly. The coldness of the stones makes this structure, which has been the silent witness of centuries, even more impressive. Walking among these stones feels like a meeting with the past. It seems like there is a story under every stone, a period of time hidden behind every wall. This castle, like time itself, is a monument that bears the traces of past experiences, and witnessing this monument was a magical experience for me.

Cool castle! You get a great view over pretty much all of Kars. Has some information plaques in English too. But there were pretty much no security measures, a lot of open edges and windows with big drops. Also quite a bit of littering, and the top of the castle was locked off. Still, it's free and the view is great, so go up and get a nice view of Kars.

Wow wow wow!!! This is a must if you visit Kars. Allow 90 to 120 minutes to wander around. Take a camera and snap away. We visited in January 2022, and there was snow on the ground. There is a little tea shop at the top, but although it was open, we did not grab anything to drink/eat.
It got really cold when the sun set.
There are toilets available.

Ani is a spectacular site. The landscape is beautiful. The site does require a considerable amount of walking so be prepared with good walking shoes and water. The paths are clearly marked and easy to follow. There are signs at each site explaining the history. The MuzeKart works at this site. There are simple toilet facilities and a little cafe on site as well. You can even see Armenia across the way from the ruins.

One of the largest cities of the period, it is said to have a population of 100 thousand people. It is a very beautiful place, fascinating but there are many missing points. We walked for about 3 hours on average. The temperature of the weather makes the trip a little difficult. I wish there were long descriptions in front of the ruins. There is definitely a need to work on environmental cleaning and organization. Entrance is 100 TL, but you can get a museum card. There is also a discount for students for the museum card, which costs 60 TL per person. The fact that we can use it in other places is also a plus point. You are next to the Arpaçay River, which separates the border between Turkey and Armenia. The flags of the countries are waving on both sides, but of course, nothing compares to the nobility of the Turkish flag...

It is out of the city you should visit there either with a tour shuttle or a vehicle. I have visited it in November it wasn’t that cold, it is better to visit with a tour guide otherwise you may not understand what is what, overall I am not disappointed to visit, some rehabilitations are ongoing I am sure it will be much better within few year but for now you will be able to touch the history, you will need a museum card, for nationals you can use your national museum card, for foreigners it should not be more than 25-30Euros and you can use the card for all around the country

One of the pretty and amazing ruined Ani, i would really suggest to go by own if possible, because i follow the tour, they only allow us to spent 1hr 15mins which is not enough for me. Generally if you going to see everything, i think minimum you may need to spend 2hrs or more, slowly walk through and see each places. This is amazing place that must visit during your Kars trip. The entrance ticket is 160TL. Visit during winter, the sky is grey, if in summer or any good weather with blue sky, so you can take a nice photo with the landscape too.

Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) Castle, also known as Rabati, is a massive double-walled fortress complex dating back to the 9th century, with most structures built in the 12th century. The Georgian government invested heavily in its reconstruction in 2012. Situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, it's a major attraction dominating the landscape.
It was a wonderful experience visiting the Rabati castle. Also, the most interesting part is that you have a church and a mosque built in the same castle.

The fortress dates back to 9th century however it has been renovated too much maybe because you won’t feel the oldness of the fortress. I would also recommend to read some history before coming before it’s not written everywhere. The fortress is still beautiful in my point of view and you can see Akhaltsikhe from the top. Definitely not the culture heritage you would expect but I still recommend coming here. Both mosque and church are both the most boring. Not sure why many are so excited about them.

At the crossroads of ancient trade routes between Turkey and Armenia in the south and the Georgian kingdom in the north lies Akhaltsikhe (Rabati) Castle, one of the most beautiful sites of the Samtskhe–Javakheti region. According to the Georgian Chronicles, Lomsia Castle ("Lion Castle") was founded in the 9th century by Guaram Mampali, a prince of the Bagrationi dynasty. In the 11th century the castle was destroyed by warfare, but in the early 12th century the castle was rebuilt by Bashken II Jaqeli, expanded into a real walled city, and the name was also renamed Akhal Tsikhe ("New Castle"). Capital of Samtskhe-Saatabago, sieges by the Mongols, annexed by the Ottoman Empire, Akhaltsikhe endures it all, flourishes and even grows. After the Treaty of Georgievsk (1783) between the Kingdom of Kartli and Tsarist Russia, the possession of Akhaltsikhe was disputed by the Ottomans and the Russians, but it was not until 1828 that the Russians managed to conquer the castle. The state of the castle is so deplorable at the beginning of the 21st century that the Georgian government will carry out a thorough and professional restoration and renovation in 2011-2012. The result: a magnificent citadel with a very varied architecture that is absolutely worth a trip!

Vardzia is an ancient and rugged cave city in Georgia, featuring a 12th-century monastery with frescoes and halls. It was established by Queen Tamar as a holy city, housing up to 2000 monks in rock-hewn dwellings over 13 floors. The site contains more than 400 rooms, including 13 churches and 25 wine cellars.
Outstanding beautiful place. It’s open even now in winter. It might be complicated for people with limited ability to move. There are many stairs and many tiny places to discover. The church in the inside is fascinating. Lovely service! You can get there by marshrutka from Akhaltsikhe for 6gel one way. It leaves from the bus station at 12.20 and then it leaves back to the city from the caves at 15.00 so you have about 1 hour 10 mins to explore the caves, which is sufficient.

This unique monument is carved out of the side of a mountain and consists of numerous cave dwellings, churches, and tunnels that date back to the 12th century. It was once a significant cultural, political, and religious center of Georgia. The complex includes an underground irrigation system, a royal palace, and a church that has preserved its beautiful frescoes. The scenic beauty of the location and the architectural wonder of the city make it an essential place to visit for anyone interested in history, culture, and adventure.

Amazing Monastery Complex - A Cave Version of the "Potala" Palace. I am blown away by the sheer scale and grandeur of the Complex. I have seen the Potala Palace, Borobudur, the Great Wall and this amazing Complex is right up there...
Leafy area around a mineral spring, with riverside walks & a Ferris wheel accessed via cable car.
Situated close to the city centre along the Borjmula river, the national park has numerous picturesque setups that catch your attention. A small park with fun activities such as rope climbing is present within which didn't function in winter during snowfall (in March) but might be a recreation hub in the summer. With an entrance fee of 5 gel per head, it is quite fun to visit on summer than in winter.

The place is nice and good for easy strolls. Next to the gate there is an old bottling factory with some cool photos inside. The door is open so you can just walk in.
To say that, they currently charge 15 gel one way for the cable car. Totally not worth it. The ride is short and not very scenic.
The pools entrence fee is now 10 gel. Still worth it. Its a lovely walk and the water is warm enough (mind it - those are not real hot springs. The water is about 30-34 Celsius degrees.

A wonderful place to spend a few hours with kids. Many fun/luck games (not included in the entrance fee). For adults you can spend here a hour or two with a relaxing romantic walk in the park and follow the path alongside the river.

The Central Park in Borjomi is huge and has a lot to offer! Starting with the negative, there is an entrance fee of 2 Lari (when you come at night it's for free nobody checks there) and it for sure needs a little makeover as deeper you go into the park. Also in winter it's not glowing like with all the greens during better times of the year! Also there are many stray dogs which can be annoying even though I like dogs!
The list of the positives is in my opinion higher. There are few waterfalls and it is laying in a valley between two high mountains.
You can walk far in and check out thermal baths and drink/fill up the sulfur smelling mineral water at a different place which is supposed to be having healing energy (I personally wasn't a fan of it).
There is a great river going through and the sound of water is possible to hear everywhere. You can also have many possibilities to sit down and enjoy nature.
You can ride a cable car which is quite high prices and there is a big playground for kids which wasn't open when I was visiting.
It is possible to do camping there for free which was my favorite. You for sure check it out it's worth it in my opinion

Beautiful place to visit all year round. The cable car is working too (but it’s outside of the park and costs 5 gel one way). The park itself is really cute place to go. In summer there are attractions for children too. These are not accessible in winter mostly. When trying out the Borjomi stream, do not expect the same thing you get in the bottle :)) this is warm and smells like… mineral water 😄 it’s not for everyone. I haven’t liked it much personally. Yet it’s really worth visiting.

Great place to spend some time in nature in the heart of the city 💚🌱
Perfect for
✔️ hiking and easy walks
✔️ taking a hammock with you and some healthy snacks and drinks for a picnic
✔️ drinking natural mineral water from the springs (take as much as you want, locals normally bring their own bottles)
✔️ taking cable car to enjoy the views of the city and mountains (10 GEL one way for foreigners, 6 GEL for locals)
✔️ sulfur baths
✔️ fun activities for kids such as zip line, rope climbing etc.
Things to consider:
✔️ As you might know there are a lot of stray dogs in Georgia. In the evening they gather in the park.
✔️ The entry is not free, but sometimes it is, especially in the morning, as business normally starts at 11 am in Georgia 😂

They charge Gel 5 as entrance for tourists. Nice place to see the greenery all around. Also, just beside is a world war era cable car that takes people from here to the top of the mountain. The park is not recommended to visit during winter season when it’s snow because it will be all slippery and the rides inside will be closed.

Definitely, a winter wonderland for kids and families.
Everything you see is white! It was really a nice experience! Not all attractions are free.
Unfortunately, most of the attractions are closed. Some of the amenities are also covered with snow.

Amazing park with a view full of green and waterfalls. The air is so fresh and climate is perfect for taking a walk throughout the entire park. Locals are welcoming and friendly. The water has a sulfuric taste and smell, pretty unique to the area.

A waterfall is worth seeing. The ticket to the park is 5 GEL. One can have a cup of warm mineral water if they want.

This park in borjomi has some Souvenir shops and also the main area from where you can hire ATV or SUV and go to see the lovely waterfall and stream nearby. The ride is adventurous. The crowne plaza borjomi is situated right in the middle of this park and there is also an area where you can get to taste the borjomi mineral water directly from the source.

Water in this central park js better then free water before park, but entrance fee is 2 gel for citizens and free for people over 65 but again it works if you’re citizen.
I think entrance is 5 gel for non citizens but im not sure, but it’s definitely worth to come and drink water, carry water bottle with yourself and do not close the tap after getting water, sometimes there can be waiting queue to drink water. But it tastes amazing
Will be back in this city

Beautiful place and peaceful surroundings with some good restaurants and shops. Nice panorama view and chilling forest. Blood sucking road to waterfall. Overall quite adventurous experience

Famed for it's mineral water which smells obnoxious and tastes absolutely awful, this park makes for a pleasant outing. There is an outdoor activity area for children and a winery. There's an entry fee.

Amazing nature and scenery. The park has a long walk on the sides of a beautiful river, and a waterfall falling down from the tip of a nearby mountain.
It is hard to find a car parking space so better come early in the morning, otherwise there's a long walk to enter the park (then a long walk inside).
There is a halal restaurant inside and the park is well maintained and has great facilities.

Beautiful place to hike and meet Luis and his wife from Equador. A treat to speak Spanish with. But basically a tourist trap. At the turnstiles immediately to the right after getting off the Gondola there's fantastic Turkish food.

This journey is not just physical but also emotional and spiritual, as Mount Aragats symbolizes Armenia's enduring spirit and untamed natural wonder.
My most favourite place In Armenia is Mt. Aragats. Road to reach there is just awesome, so much greenery , and clouds are on you....seriously. You can click hundreds of photos and still not enough. There is a small lake and the views around are just awesome. You would just want to sit and relax.

For awarness: you CAN go hiking/climbing October.. Yes, it will be harder. You will need a GPS downloaded track and shoes with crampons. You will be most likely alone. Defiantly worth it! Go for North Peak and for South Peak as a desert. Ask me questions if you need a sparring partner! Good luck!

One of the most beautiful mountains of this geographic area! Volcanic origin mountain, has 4 summits. The highest one is Northern peak. Not technically difficult, but except summer time and after late autumn, need crampons and one ice axe

Hiked Southern Peak - 3,888 m (12,756 ft)
It was perfect; lush greenery, magnificently constant lake view while hiking, no crowd thus no noise, and fresh air.
Perfect one-day weekend hike from urbanization.
Please carry your water and food.

This is the north summit or North False, the highest point at the wast side may couldn’t be reached without special gears or support. The highest point is: 4090m
Be careful in the seasons the crater and the summits have more snow and be careful about the weather conditions. The total time of the ascend and come back maybe is about 15h normally.

Nice and easy. Just beware of wild dangerous dogs.

Beatiful hiking site also for not so touristic people. One star down for unability to reach the place easily (i.e. public transport). There are almost no marks on the hiking trails
