The capital of Switzerland, old town of Bern is big and pretty. I saw a clock tower for the first time and it was interesting to look at. There are trams running throughout the city. There are many beautiful fountains and lovely to look at.

The capital of Switzerland has a very atmospheric and cultural atmosphere. I want to feel the local tranquil atmosphere here. The ancient city is also very amazing. 👍It doesn’t feel like the capital. Walking here and enjoying the shopping experience It’s a good time in the morning. 👍The nearby scenery is also very impressive. There are also many scenic spots that you can go for a walk. It’s a very distinctive capital. It’s a pity that it was cloudy when I went to Bern that day, but I think I’ll save it for the next time I go to Bern. Come and enjoy this beautiful ancient city again if you have the opportunity!👍👍

Overall the city was beautiful. I went on a Monday and many shops are closed that day. The good news was, my guess, fewer people the bad news is there were some great shops that had displays that could not purchase. My guess is 50% of the shops or greater was closed. I truly enjoyed the shops that were open!

Charming part of town to walk through - almost as if transported to a different era. Nice restaurants and shops on the way, ending up near the bridge and the Bear Haus.

The Bern's Old Town is the No.1 Must See Place when you go to Bern. I admit that I had doubts before I came here but then, I fully understood why this old town had become a world's heritage! Its calmness, medieval buildings, streets, fountains, & the beautiful & elegant clock towers, have made this Old Town be possibly the most pretty Historic Town in Switzerland! Tips: It's easy to get here from the Bern's Station too, just look up & follow one of the clock towers. (Please note that the picture showed as the caption in Google's UNESCO Von Bern is actually the Zetgloge Clock Tower, which is an ancient landmark from the 13th century.)

Bern being the capital of Switzerland is an ancient city. Has many historical buildings and scenic lookouts. You have to stay within the city limits to enjoy the sites as they are accessible via light rail. Book a hotel near to the city centre and use the light rail and buses to get around. First time visitors get a free pass within the 2 city zones. Rent a car and travel to Zurich and Geneva to enjoy the alps and historic towns. Busy during the summer. The cost of food etc are very expensive here specially being the capital. Good only if you’re into scenery and historical buildings.

The city of Bern is great to visit (as for most Swiss cities I would avoid going there on a Sunday as most shops are closed and some restaurants too). Bern has a beautiful old city center which is easy to get to from one of the many parking places around the center or (of course) by train. Really nice view from the Rosengarten and while you are there it’s nice to walk downstairs to the bridge to have a look at the bears at ‚Bärengraben‘. Beautiful City! what an interesting town to walk through. i’ve never seen somewhere like this and it was quite fun to walk down. however the bus drives here are often so if you’re walking down the street make sure to look behind you!

It's a lovely town, and being there feels like stepping back in time. It's peaceful, and clean, and there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from.

A lovely little old town that we stopped by for just a day on our travels. We didnt get a chance to do anything but in about 4 hours we felt like we had seen everything that bern has to offer. Its worth it to atleast once walk up towards the rose garden to the east as you can then really see over all of bern. There are pretty streets, sculputers and building all over. Apparently the fountain water is also drinkable.

One of the best things to do in Switzerland. You can walk and buy things unique to Switzerland, but please check things that you are buying not from China. Because there are some shops which selling made in China things with made in Switzerland.

Cool clock. One of the many things that makes the cityscape of Bern interesting. Not sure I'd call it a destination in and of itself. But I'm glad I saw it while walking through the city.

Excellent guided tour and knowledgeable exposition of a fantastic piece of machinery still working after such a long time, with a bonus of breath taking views from the top of the tower.

It’s interesting to consider the engineering required to build this clock, especially hundreds of years ago. That being said, other than being beautiful to look at, the mechanical features aren’t all that impressive. We waited for 15-20 minutes to see it in action and were pretty disappointed after reading such rave reviews

Exploring the old town in Bern was just lovely. This historical clock tower is from the 13th century! It was a prison before. If you walk on one of the main market streets (near the Einstein Museum) you will pass by.

One side was covered in scaffolding and there is an open public toilet on the road side of the building. So sure, it looks nice on Instagram, but the reality isn’t white as charming.

A majestic clock tower right smack in the middle of the Old Town, with busy traffic passing through it. Taking pictures with the tower is a must, though from what we heard there are specific tours that you can take to view inside of the tour so that's a must. Unfortunately we only found out after we left Bern so that's a bummer. Still quite a grand looking building.

What a lovely clock, unfortunately we did not get to do the tour in side. Be very careful when viewing the clock as there is a lot of traffic from cars, trams and people.

This is a beautiful clock on the side of a building near a fountain statue. It's beautiful and chimes each quarter hour, and it has a movable display. Normally there seems to be a crowd forming to take photos and video but do be aware this is a roadway with cars, bicycles etc who do not necessarily pay attention to random people looking at a clock.

Bern is very beautiful and the zytglogge is the center attraction!!! Visitors can expect a nice treat starting 4 minutes before the hour!!!

Enjoyed seeing the Zytglogge up close during a visit to Bern in mid-April 2023. This striking historical landmark is hard to miss while strolling through Old Town Bern. Guided tours of the clock tower are available. Unfortunately for me, I did not have the time to tour the clock tower while in Bern.

Really not sure if this place is worth the hype. We waited half an hour to see the clock strike at five minutes to the hour and then on the hour. It's cute, but nothing worth going out of your way for.

A fabulous dining spot in top of Bern city and the interior and exterior milieu are fabulous. An excellent place to take a date or friends for a nice meal. Prices are decent for Bern standards and food quality is good. Staff can speak multiple languages and quite customer friendly and nice. Recommend trying out the restaurant experience.

Exceptional views of the city of Bern, friendly staff, and delicious food. We were a group of nine, so a reservation was required. We ordered the spaghetti a la vongole, a salmon tartar, and pork tenderloin, and two different types of fondue. All enjoyed their meal. Worth a visit.

Food, Service, Location.....everything is perfect. I had course dinner of cheese fondue. It was very good especially dry-cured ham plate is amazing.

It’s a super nice restaurant. I’ve been here at least 5 times over the last few years. However the portions are getting smaller and smaller. See the size of the fork and the meat 😑😂. Otherwise it tastes really good and the service is also great!

Great place. Amazing location on a hill which provides you with the best view over Bern. There is a flower garden next to it. The waiters and the service were fast, welcoming and professional. We sat outside but due to the storm we went in. The table was reserved but they let us sit anyway until they would arrive. I had a few beers in a rush so I didn’t get to see more.

Absolutely recommend! The view alone makes it all worthwhile but our dishes were also delicious. Definitely a great way to make the most of your day in Bern!

This is a good place overlooking Bern from above. Be careful, it's very touristic, so it's better to book your table in advance. Also, the parking lot is too small and there is a high chance of staying without any. The cuisine is okay, but the service is slow. The view to Bern is wonderful though. You can also visit the charming park Rosengarten - it's really beautiful and deserves a visit.

Great spot for sunset in Bern with good value for money. We had the sausage with vegetables and the Turkish platter with hummus and other dips. The waiter Sebastian was amazing, very friendly and fast. We will come back!

Decidedly a tourist’s destination restaurant, the staff was nice, and I cannot stress this enough: THE VIEWS CANNOT BE BEAT. I went just after sunset, and it was surreal. The food is just ok, but reasonably priced. The Beer selection is limited, but delicious.

We got an iced coffee latte, beer and lemon basil gnocchi. The latte was probably by far the worst coffee I’ve had in Switzerland. It lacked flavor and texture was bad too. The lemon basil gnocchi was amazing though. The sauce is not too creamy with a strong lemon flavor. The garnish on the top is a potato chip. They also give you complimentary rye bread, but it wasn’t heated or had butter/ oil for dipping. The view was amazing. Supposedly, a lot of the tables with the best views were “reserved”… they weren’t taken by the time we finished so it was very questionable. The staff does their job, but they’re neither happy or angry. Seems like they’re just going through the motions.

I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dinner with a view! I definitely recommend making a reservation as it is always packed. I tried to reserve a table closest to the city view but was unable to. Totally fine because you can still see the city from far. The food was good, staff was friendly, and price was expensive but expected for the location.

Nice little bear park just in the city center next to the river. Can have nice view of the Bern city from here too. There are 3 bears but we managed to see only 1 which was good enough. He was huge and very cute walking around up and down for hours. Cute to watch, good place for family. Kids will love it. For publu, Free to enter.

What a crazy experience! I didn’t like the idea of a “bear pit” but once you get there, it eases up on you. Looks like a nice place for the bears to live. Better than the original pit that’s for sure.

The is few bear, we watch them from the top of the bridge or corner of the cliff. The bear live next to the river. We can’t get close, just see from far away. On the top or opposite of the river. It’s Free. We hv to zoom and zoom to get the bear photos. 😆

Such a beautiful place to visit in the summer- if you go during the morning, you might just see some bears getting fed and lounging around the circle enclosure, but they spend most of the day in the spacious, lush enclosures in front of the river. On a hot day, they can be seen swimming.

We saw 3 bears 🐻 and they were adorable. It can be a nice spot for your kids and everybody of course, to see cute little bears.

Its a quick walk from the city center. As i am not a supporter of having animals captivated i didn’t like it there. The view is amazing since you can see Bern from the bridges and go down to the river. But seeing the bears in cages just walking in circles is pretty sad. They should just stop having these beautiful animals in captivity, they look sad☹️

Outstanding to have this in an old European town. Bears look well looked after. I read they retreat to the wild, they swim and eat fresh food. Must see attraction. Too many sites to see.

A must-visit destination in Bern. Located just a stroll away from the train station, this place is a hidden gem. No need to purchase any tickets, you can enjoy the mesmerizing sight of brown bears. The brown bear habitat features two viewing platforms. The upper platform offers a vantage point on the hillside, while the lower platform is situated by the riverbank. You can access both platforms via stairs or an elevator. Unfortunately, during my visit, the elevator was out of order. There are three bears in total, with two of them sharing a close bond. In the vicinity, you'll also find a vending machine selling commemorative coins and a statue of Albert Einstein. Without a doubt, this place is a worthwhile attraction to explore.

A really, really cool and easy to view attraction at Bern. The location nearby the pit is beautiful, with a bridge overlooking two sides of the Aare River. On a nice, sunny day, the sparkle of the water provides a cool contrast to the powerful movements of the bears. While we were there, we got to see them sit around, hustle about, and even swim in their little pool. Definitely worth coming around to see, even if just for the sight of town from the bridge.

Very nice place and definitely an attraction to see the bears! Great location as the river and nice city views are on one side and the rose garden on the other side. Free to watch the bears. Bike parking and restaurant. Worth checking when the bears are hibernating if you visit in cold months of the year ;)

I was even shocked to see Brown Bear in Bern, and I must say it was a good experience, so I've uploaded a 30s video for you amazing people to have a look at. The best time to visit is definitely during summer periods. Anyone who's visiting Bern should definitely visit the lake nearby. Check out the images.

It's a Bear Pit. What more could you expect. Joking aside, not a bad first spot in Bern for tourists, as there are a few live bears that actually live in the enclosure. We went in mid-November and one was actually still there and eating in the enclosure. There are some other good features around for tourists, a small gift shop and some great views off the bridge.

Had a great visit here today on 4th Jan. One cute little guy came up close to have his photo taken. He wasn’t out for long so I think we got lucky with our timing. Handy free lift down the hill if you can’t manage the stairs. The location is stunning and worth hanging around for photos. Had a coffee and snack in the cafe too. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Bern

Bern building is so historic. Feel like fairytale Town.. saw a smaller bear wondering in the enclosure park..excited. weather at this time is good. Slightly hot in the afternoon, but not humid. At night is cooling as air conditioning.

A surprise to us as we were doing a walk around bern. There is the old small concrete pit, however the bears actually have access to the hillside next to the river. This is not free range but certainly better than many zoos I have seen. We were lucky enough to see a bear running around and playing. You can take a little elevator or stairs down to the waters edge to get a better view.

The Bear Pit is an interesting historical landmark that was first established in 1191. The bears were sleeping today, so no activity. Still an awesome site

It's a beautiful place with Bears wandering around freely without any fear. It's a free entry place and can be visited by families and friends 24hrs/7days.

Again disappointing site. There were no bears in sight during winter. Why? Because they were hibernating, looks like a forced one as I had seen a lot of active bears in winter. Totally unexpected. A complete waste of time during winter holidays. Expect some nice views, nothing is there. Infact, the whole Bern city is a complete disappointment and boring. Tip: never visit Bern in winter.

You possibly can't visit Switzerland's capital city without experiencing its coat of arms animal that gave it its name!🇨🇭🐻 Some years ago, substantial investments were made to offer the bears a conducive living habitat worthy of that name. Just make sure to plan your trip to Bern outside of the hibernation season to avoid finding an empty bear park! 🏞️ If you're up for good food, drinks & views, there's also the microbrewery Altes Tramdepot just within the perimeter! 🥙☕️

I really liked this cathedral. It may not be as grand as some of the others in Europe but it was so peaceful and pleasant inside. You can also climb up to the rooftop for 5 francs. Great views of the city up there!

Fantastic Gothic architecture, free entrance and a peaceful environment. It is worth seeing this beautiful church that towers over Bern.

My husband and I decided to do the stair tour, and let me tell you this was one of the best decisions we could have made during our day trip to Bern! The views are BREATHTAKING, and you will NOT be disappointed. Please please don’t miss out on this experience while you are in Bern! It was by far the best part of our day!! It’s 5 CHF per person, but WELL worth the money! We were here on a Friday and there was no wait. Also, the bell goes off everyday at 12pm, and we just by chance were there at 12 when the bell was sounding off! We were able to be in the bell watch tower as this happened and it was such a cool experience! If you can try to plan to be there at 12 when the bell sounds, it’s an amazing experience!

Woooow The place has extraordinary view of Bern City from Top. It's worth to climb 312 spiral stairs to see the City. You have to climb clockwise and anticlockwise. No lift, you will feel dizzy because of anticlockwise.

Beautiful place to visit to enjoy a masterpiece of the church inside. When you're inside the church you will feel really calm every peace of stone and wods from the chair, altar and the walls are so old and when you see close, you can see the small details even you can see the mark from the past. Around the church you can enjoy the beautiful build of the church and beautiful views from the garden and for sure the old town of Bern. Really recommend place to visit while you're in Bern City. There is a warning to not take a picture from inside the church, so please respect the rule there.

I was there on a Sunday afternoon and did the tower stairs tour. It was so worth it as the view is breathtaking but sadly, you’re kicked out quicker than I would’ve wanted to be up there for stating that they close by 5pm. But I still enjoyed it

Great view even on a wintery foggy snowy day (we couldn't se a single mountain) - the Bern city is really systematic and nice and the climb is worth it.

The cathedral built from 1421 onwards reflects political and economic developments in Bern. Its grandiosity is, at the same time, a reflection of the importance of the Catholic Church at the time and the need to demonstrate the power of the government, which was conquering adjacent territories. One of the highlights of the Gothic-style façade is the depiction of the Last Judgment on the main portal. The work is considered one of the most complete collections of European sculptures of this style.

Didn't have a chance to get inside since there were some ceremony going on. Outside is great tho.

the Cathedral of Bern is beautifully gothic. unlike the other Cathedrals, the structure is just a little different when you go in. the details on the ceiling and all around that is extraordinary. i did the climb up to the top and the view made it very worthwhile! (ps: it is more challenging than it sounds)

The Bern Minster is located in the heart of Bern's old town and is easily accessible by bus or tram. Entry is free and you can also take photos inside. The bell can be visited and entry costs CHF 5.00. The path up to the platform is very steep and has many stairs. Once at the top you will be rewarded with a great view over the city of Bern and the surrounding area. You can then go up the stairs to the top platform.

The inside is free nice church. The top has Beautiful views at admission only $5 for going up the tower, it’s around 350 steps to the very top. good exercise. You can see all of Bern up here. Definitely recommend.

Bern Cathedral, built in 1421, is a Christian church with three narrow passages and a model of late Gothic architecture in Switzerland. Its tower is 100 meters high, which is the tallest building in Switzerland, and you can enjoy the medieval street view of Bern from the tower. The main attraction of the church is the magnificent relief created by Erhart Küng on the front of the church. In addition, the stained glass skylights and the beautifully carved choir seats in the church are all worth seeing. There is also a pipe organ composed of 5404 brass pipes built in 1726. It is the largest pipe organ in Switzerland and can be heard during regular concerts or Christmas. From the top of the tower, you can reach the top of the tower through 344 steps spiraling up from the church door, overlooking and overlooking the snow-capped Bernese Oberland peaks in the distance.

Access to the tower is only 5 francs, so probably the cheapest thing you'll pay for on a trip to Switzerland. Walking to the top you get an interesting inside view of the architecture and the views from the top are great. If the weather is good it's a must-do activity for tourists in Bern

Nice view, very busy although I didn't visited during the weekend. There were many kids around. Very easy access from Bern city. The path for going up walking is nice and easy, around 40 min.

It is a very nice place where you can see the whole Bern city and beyond. You can reach the top by funicular or you can walk around 15-20 min. There is a tower from where you can see mountains chains. Just be sure there are no clouds.

Very nice place for walking with excellent view

It's a beautiful small hill in Bern. Hiking and funicular options are available. With the city pass the funicular is for free. If you are lucky with bright sky then you can even see the alps and Jungfrau as well. The city view in lights is mesmerizing. There is a restaurant available on top of the hill where you can enjoy some food as well. There is a play area for children also available.

Recommend going on a sunny day, and preferably not Sunday. The toboggan ride was closed and views were good but not great (it was raining). If you’re staying at a hotel in Bern, your guest pass will allow you to ride the funicular for free. You could also hike up/down. We walked to Gurtendorf which was a sweet, tiny, village with a dairy farm. It’s definitely chillier and windier due to the elevation gain so pack a light jacket!

Nice short hike from Bern, do not miss the tower to get a 360 view of the region. There is also a hotel, restaurants, summer sled track, mountain bike trail, and a nice park.

Great for infants n kids .. the choo choo train is very addictive for them. For kids is free but not for the one accompany them 😄

The guy at station refused to give us tickets for the cable car(train) that takes up just because we were speaking English. He was also lying about timing and he said it’s closed at 7 pm. Tall guy with long hair . Very disappointed

The guy at station refused to give us tickets for the cable car(train) that takes up just because we were speaking English. He was also lying about timing and he said it’s closed at 7 pm. Tall guy with long hair . Very disappointed

A really nice walk to the top of the hill. Feels like a great little escape from city life. At the peak, there's great views of the alps, a few places to get coffee, and many opportunities to just enjoy and take in the fresh air :)

Beautiful peak with 360 degrees view of the entire area. To get to the mountain top you can either take the tram (half priced for Swiss pass) or take the walking trail up. Portions of the trail has stairs and paved road making it very easy to climb. On top there are restroom facility, restaurant and amusement park, not to mention a spectacular view.

A great place in Bern to go and relax and spend time in nature. The mountain/hill is home to several farms and offers splendid views over Bern to the north as well as the Alps to the south. There are many hiking paths, as well as a downhill mountain bike track. In summer there are grill spots with free wood. Walking through the forest always gives me a bit of a reset.

Music Festival on the day i went, so long queue for funicular and limited access at the top without the wristband. Even so, thoroughly enjoyed the trip up and the walk at the top. The view platform is a great touch, though a little nerve wreaking if you are anxious with heights,

Beautiful views, everyone should visit this place!

It takes only 10 minutes to reach this place from the main station (tram 9). After a five minute ride you will be able to enjoy a fantastic view of Bern and if the day is quite clear you will be able to spot mountains far away in all directions! If you travel with kids there is a playground here and also a restaurant. Perfect place for hiking and you can also bring your bicycle here!

The highest point of Bern. You can get a great view of Bern and on a clear day you get a mesemerizing view of the Alps as well . Nice place for a picnic with friends and family. It's a huge area on top and you can spend a few hours enjoying the view from different sides. Has a play area/ activity area for kids. And also a restaurant. Either take a funicular or climb up the hill. Both experiences are awesome.

A must-see as it's the capital of Switzerland, and the parliament building is a real masterpiece. Haven't yet gone inside the Parliament building, but it's stunning from the outside. A fabulous view of parts of Bern from behind the parliament building is something that makes one stand there, spend more time and gaze in awe! Loved being there!

Excellent and beautiful building and great tour. You get to admire 4 important rooms and get to sit in the parliamentarians' chairs during the tour. Democracy really close. Online booking of tour and passing necessary security was quick and security personnel friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend while visiting Bern but make sure to book in advance!

The view around the building has become really, really ugly. It looks like in depressive Soviet Union. Only grey, depressive blocks. Switzerland was once so beautiful, so marvellous. Now everything they build is bad. Just look at the triangle of the Parliament building. A pattern made of lines? Who approved that? It looks like made by an infant with zero knowledge about art or architecture. Switzerland must return to its former glory and beauty. Switzerland must return to the time of the Belle Epoche.

It is a beautiful building، It is also a tourist attraction. It attracts the eyes of all passers-by, and everyone who enters Bern must come to it. It was built 120 years ago, so it makes you feel great to see what the architecture was like.

I think everyone should be able to see their nation's capital. Visiting the Parliament Building was both easy and informative. You really just need to go online and sign up. The building is beautiful. The tour was an hour long and mostly about the architecture of the building, but they also had good resources for those interested in how the country is run and it's politics.

Did not have time to take a guided tour of the Swiss Parliament Building during a visit to Bern in mid-April 2023. The building's terrace is a great place to enjoy a view of the city and river Aare. The Swiss Parliament Building is about 10 minutes by foot from the main train station.

The heart of the capital city and the place where the country's future is shaped. A vibrant hub for markets, demonstrations and events, surrounded by restaurants, shops and businesses. If you have the opportunity, explore the interior of the Building and visit the terrace just behind for scenic views of the surrounding area.

Confused on the Public entrance. Not crowded. Very nice view of the Bundeshaus in Berne. Very nice people and staff. Go anytime won’t be crowded. Very beautiful building. Would recommend as a place to visit when in Berne. Would recommend going there while the official parliament is having a meeting! It is very fascinating.

My first time seeing the Swiss Federal Palace Light Show, everyone loved it. I believe they change the scene every year. It was beautifully presented and plenty of space and the people attending were most respectful. Thank you for the entertainment ❣️

The architecture is stunning and therefore totally worth the visit. The café inside is nice too, restaurant nearby great and lots of land to walk around. Exhibitions: Paul Klee has a fascinating story, the exhibition I saw (not sure if permanent or changing) wasn't as fascinating as the story...the changing exhibition of art brut artist was somewhat interesting and the tour we took helped a lot (great tour guide) still, at 20CHF per entrance (plus 5chf for tour) it is overpriced- 10-12CHF should be sufficient

Incredible museum with a great mission. Includes various Klee exhibits but also other artists, music, and educational activities in a beautiful space.

I had studied at the university and today I saw the original papers. A well-organized exhibition, distributed in space according to the author's creativity and life. Interactive involving visitors to draw something inspired by the exhibited works. A wonderful staff. The space outside and inside offered places where you can read books, rest, etc. Very clean area. With toilets and a water fountain outside where you can drink fresh water. Free entry! Every Saturday during the month of August 23', you can visit all museums for free.

Zentrum Paul Klee is a museum dedicated to Bern’s favourite artist Paul Klee - an important 20th century Classic Modernist artist. The museum has an architecturally pleasing exterior with its wave-like form signifying the artist’s fascination with water and nature and how humans integrate with it. The interior is clean and uncluttered and makes for a very pleasing viewing experience. I chose the audio guide and it accurately reflects Klee’s inspirations and events in his life. For Paul Klee fans it would be an awe inspiring experience. For those who don’t know him then it may not overwhelm you. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and getting to know his life better. Mind you they have over 4000 pieces of the artist and roughly 100 pieces are on display so much is in storage. I particular enjoyed Pomona, Overripe and Seasnail King. The admission was included with the Swiss Travel Pass and the audio guide cost me 6 CH. Washrooms and lockers are in the basement. Overall a great experience for me. For those who don’t know him then maybe less than inspiring.

Beautiful exhibition space celebrating Paul Klee’s life and work. Gorgeous building by Renzo Piano. Surely would want to return there on my next visit in and around Bern. A bit on the pricey side, especially for families, factoring in parking fees, the down-sized viewing of Klee’s work, and expensive gift items. Also, not all of Paul Klee’s most cherished works are available for sale as postcards. I really missed seeing his watercolors done in Tunisia. There was nothing on display or available for sale as postcards. The documentary movie about Paul Klee’s life was very good and worth the time. I will surely visit again, but next time, structure my visit around an event or exhibition of interest.

We love Paul Klee's work, and stopping to see this museum while touring Switzerland is a must-do for us. It's well worth planning extra time to also see a traveling exhibit and walk through the grounds.

The biggest collection of Paul Klee’s masterpieces. Absolutely beautiful park and a building. A lot of nice temporary exhibition. Master classes for children are also organized. Definitely worth to visit.

A spectacular arrival with a building emerging from the ground by the architect RENZO PIANO. The forms blend perfectly with the landscape, almost disappearing into it. Once inside three interconnected buildings. One with restaurant and seminar, one with perpetual and ephemeral collection, one with research center. It is very pleasant to look at every corner of this building. For the exhibitions, that of Paul Klee in the basement retraces its history very well through its evolution, and there are opportunities to create things. For the ephemeral exhibition for me it was Joan Miro. A very interesting installation with very beautiful pieces to discover. For the shop I find that something is missing, I think there are many ways to improve it. Unmissable passage for those who appreciate art and for others too with magnificent views.

Awesome place. The architecture of the zentrum Paul Klee is like a magnet attracting one into it. I expected to see more works of Klee, but this collection was good, too. Very well maintained, friendly personal, well situated, and easily accessible with the tram (No.12).

This is definitely one of the top museums for modern art in Switzerland, honoring its citizen Paul Klee. Just now there are two exhibitions, one presenting his contemporary, Juan Miró and the second, featuring a selection of Klee's work, called "the technical frenzy of Klee". Both are extremely interesting and should not be missed. The premises are beautiful and themselves worth a visit and the museum shop is of high quality. We particularly like the Klee postcard section where you will always find something appealing to send to you friends or beloved ones. A must when visiting Berne.

We had the Swiss Travel Pass and it was 50% off. We were in Old Town and way back to our hotel. The museum only took cash so we had to go to an ATM. Luckily, we made it just before they closed. Einstein really didn’t live here very long and the display is small. If we were constraint with time, we would have not bothered.

The movie in the documentary room was informative and I certainly learned a few things I didn’t know about Einstein before, the museum is elaborate and the house although renovated in some parts is well kept in most.. the lady at the bill counter was very friendly and happily guided me around.. I got a few accessories and she offered good advise about carrying and transferring them..!! I love the experience.. just next to the house is astronomical clock. It was surreal to walk the street that Einstein walked and see from the window, the view that he did. I would highly recommend this place to fellow nerds :)

Although the Einstein Cafe extends through the block so there are entrances on two parallel streets, you can only access the narrow stairway going up to the museum from Kramgasse. The approximately 10 minutes video is very good, it details his whole life.

Sweet little museum with TONS of info about Einstein. He was a deadbeat dad and they only briefly touch on that, but I guess a museum devoted to him is not likely to be particularly critical. I always enjoy preserved/restored spaces, so it was nice to see the rooms he and his family lived in briefly. The price was very reasonable and there were only a couple other people there. We definitely enjoyed it.

It's a very steep walking up the stairs. When you reach the 1st floor then you have to purchase the ticket. It's all Einstein's information written on the wall regarding himself and his family. There's some of the family clothing, work table, family photos and his living room featured in this museum. We did not spend a lot of time here. Since the building is old, there's no lift to go up and down.

The Einsteinhaus (Einstein House) is a museum and a former residence of Albert Einstein. It is located on Kramgasse No. 49 in Bern, Switzerland. A flat on the second floor of the house was occupied by Einstein, his wife Mileva Marić, and their son Hans Einstein from 1903 to 1905. The Annus Mirabilis papers, which presented Einstein's theory of relativity and contributed substantially to the foundation of modern physics, were written here and published in the Annalen der Physik. During this time Einstein worked at the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property.

As the name suggests, Albert Einstein used to live here for a brief moment before he became famous. There are only two floors you can visit, one floor is preserved with furnitures while the other consists of information board detailing his life. The museum is mostly focused on his family and if you want more information about his impact and work, you'll need to visit the Bern Museum. Personally it gave me a brief insight into his life, though the museum was slightly underwhelming. Entrance fee is 6 Francs but you'll get a slight discount with Swiss Travel Pass. There's also a cafe downstairs the museum that is more interesting I feel.

Cool place to see the history of Albert Einstein. It can be difficult to move around when there are a lot of people. The signs have many different languages for people, so it is nice that everyone can read and understand. The staff there was very nice.

This is a great exhibit and museum for science lovers and history buffs alike. Located right in the heart of Bern, it is centrally located around many other sites. The first floor of the exhibit demonstrates Einstein's living area and in the second floor, which is up a tight spiral staircase, provides an excellent overview of Einstein's life and professional accomplishments. The copy on the exhibits is very well done and is very enjoyable to read. The receptionist was very nice and it is well worth the 7 Swiss francs to visit.

Pricey for what it is. I think if it was cheaper I'd recommend stopping by but probably not worth it unless you're a big fan of Einstein's work. I paid 7 CHF, didn't see anything about a discount with Swiss pass. I heard someone say it so I went back to the woman at the desk to tell her I had a Swiss pass and didn't realise and she said she couldn't refund me the money. Whether that's true or not I don't know but I felt she was very unhelpful and not very friendly.

I ask myself why i skipped the visit since many years in the region, it is my fault surely but also the tourism office do not advertise this spot which is full of great information about Einstein and his wife (only scientific female in the same uni as Einstein). The video show in ENG was very good too. One thing which is sad i found was the error of a date on one of the posters. Such a museum should be able re-print that visual 😉

If you want to visit for a few hours then it is extensive, can take up to 3 hours to explore along with the Einstein Museum. Takes 13 Franks to visit Bern History museum and 18 Franks to visit it along with Einstein Museum. For students they give some discount.

Included in swiss travel pass. There are some really interesting historic pieces in here for sure. They have little lockers to put your things away as well. Such as coats, umbrellas, backpacks and other things. Only small purses are allowed inside. There are bathrooms inside as well that if you are already touring the meusum you can also use the bathroom facilities and not have to pay extra for it.

We had the Swiss Travel Pass and the entrance to this museum is free. It is worthwhile to visit and learn a lot about the Einstein & the history of Switzerland/Bern. It had excellent exhibits/showcase and English materials.

We are usually not big fans of museums, but we thought that since we have free entrance with the Swiss Travel Pass, it would be a harm to visit the place. The museum turned out to be one of the best museums we visited, from the moment we stepped unto the grounds and into the building. Not only is the exterior majestic, it also provides a relaxing place to just chill and relax. The interior of the museum itself is also massive, with several exhibitions you can visit across the floors. We particularly enjoyed the history of Bern with the comprehensive explanations and artifacts, which made the experience a lot more enjoyable. Do make sure to allocate about one to two hours and visit early if possible, as we did not have enough time to cover all the exhibits.

Great museum you can easily spend a morning or afternoon at. Fabulous medieval/renaissance collection of art and armor/weapons including the famous Bern armor and the Mille-Fleur tapestry. Only confusing thing is these are on a different floor while the arms/armor exhibit is in the lower level. They tell you this (that it's not organized by time period). Also fabulous way to learn Bern's history from its founding to the present day.

During our trip to Bern we decided to stop by the Bern historical museum and Einstein museum. We really ejoyed viewing the Einstein museum portion. It was good to understand the history and the different cool exhibits. The basement also had additional historical exhibits. There was also an additional exhibit at the time exploring the local football team but we didn't get a chance to see it.

Interesting insight into the mind of a genius and what made him a deep, contemplative thinker. We enjoyed the digital Einstein fireside chat. Great a for a quick visit or a morning with the children.

I am a person who gets bored easily. This museum exceeded my expectations especially on Einstein’s sections. Well documented journey. Highly recommended. Standard museum adult charges. We bought our tickets in person and was served within 10 minutes.

Impressive. Organized so clear and easy to understand Einstein's life and how he moved and studied in different places. Interactive where a 3D character of him could talk to you. The light and the rooms were well balanced with information. Like a wonderland.

An amazing place with a range of amazing exhibits. I went May last year and its a nice peaceful place where you can look at some nice artifacts. I went during the Samurai exhibition and it was amazing to see something I dont see! The staff were helpful and seemed they really enjoy doing their job! Amazing place, well recommended!

A 500 year old Statue that no one knows the origin of its maker and the story behind its making that looks scary and really beautifully detailed

I never knew I needed to see a baby eating statue. After happening upon this classic Bern Trip Advisor must see attraction, I was sold. Baby eating statues are staples for each country, spread the word.

Probably one of the most famous 16h century fountains in Bern, depicts a scary looking being, possibly an ogre, devouring little children. The exact history is lost in the mist of time, but it's a fantastic work in any case.

One of the many whimsical statue water fountains in Bern, make sure to drop by to fill your water bottle here and take a picture in the meantime.

If you are walking from the Main Train Station, it will take you about 10-15 minutes to reach Kornhausplatz. This is where you will find this fountain, which dates from the XVI century. Even though it is not the only fountain in Bern, it is one of the most visited ones. It might be shocking to some to see a fountain of an ogre eating children...but that is what it is. There are several theories regarding the meaning of the fountain, but as of today they all remain as theories.

Pretty creepy but very cool piece of sculpture! There are so many differing opinions on what the artist had in mind when he made this. It's best to Google them haha!. But if you're walking by..its definitely eye catcher!

I'm sorry. I see no reason for a statue like this anywhere in the world. Oddly enough, the Liberals want to tear down statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, etc, but they don't have a problem with a baby-eating statue. Go figure.

I have visited the museum couple of years ago before covid. art was ok-I always love and enjoy fine art. However, the person from the museum said I shouldn't be taking photos. I didn't so I told him I already know. When I checked my phone and put it back in my bag, he said he told me not to take picture and asked me to check my picture. He walked away without apology when he saw that I took none. He said a lot of Chinese people took picture and there is copy right... I'm not Chinese... and I was surprised that he casually say this type of things. Before he talk about copy right, he might need to get human right education.

This museum was lovely! It houses some very impressive works of art and is a nice size to spend a few hours in - not so large as to be overwhelming. We were fortunate to catch the exhibition of Katharina Grosse works - really enjoyed it!

A very small museum. Someone recommended this museum to me and i was expecting something bigger and better, the art collection is nice but small, you can do the whole museum in about 1 hour. They have the permanent collection and the Katherine Grosse collection that is modern art. They have a couple of paintings of Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh, among others. The ticket was 10CHF so it is a little expensive for the size of the museums but everything in Switzerland is always expensive. Maybe if you have nothing else to do you can pay a visit to the museum.

Very well organized and kept. Although the staff is not so friendly, they are welcoming but a little bit cold. Maybe it was because it was filled with visitors.

Small but nice collections. A part of the museum is closed due to renovation. The price should therefore be reduced (such as 1 or 2 Francs as symbolism).

We went to see the Gurlitt exhibit and it was very good. Why the 2 stars? Not sure if it was intentional but the museum overseers all in black were quick to tell you that the other artworks on display were only viewable if you paid extra and while viewing the exhibit, made me feel uncomfortable and under observation. I accompanied my son because he was doing research for college. Was so glad to get out of there. The atmosphere was stifling.

It is an amazing place with tons of options for both kids and adults. There’s fresh water and saline water pools, warm (30-35c) or cold (18c) options. Lots of play toys for everyone, including a huge inflated floating island and a massive tube slide that’s 3 stories tall. The place is extremely clean and people are just so nice and courteous. We went while on vacation in Bern and the kids just needed a nice fun break from sightseeing. Yes, they sell swimsuits right there for those that didn’t think to pack one on a December trip to Switzerland :) Overall highly recommend the place for a fun relaxing non-touristy activity especially for the kids!

You can enjoy yourself either for just swimming or relaxing in the spa. Its a very modern style spa / pool, everything works with a chip you get at the entrance. What is however a big ick are the changing rooms. Dirty and no clear separation to the area where you wear shoes! So i did feel a little bit odd about it. There should be lockers for shoes somewhere but essentially bring your own slippers so you dont catch foot diseases.

I don't like their new pricing policy. It's not enough time and they know it. There's always a queue because people need to top up their entry fee...

It’s ok and clean because it’s quite new. It’s much smaller than alpamare in pfäffikon. This one has three slides and a wild water slide. Alpamare has at least twice as many, more outdoor pools, a wave pool etc. so alpamare is a lot more fun than this one. But this one is nice for what it is. Also, when we were there, it felt really full and we had to wait nearly 15min to go down a slide. When we left (attendance was still increasing), the website showed 60% full. But it really felt like 100% full already

We love going here with our boys because it's super relaxing and fun and there's so much to experience and something for everyone. Go early to have the best experience and avoid the crowds.

Over crowded during rainy weekends. Full of noisy & dirty kids. Be aware it's not a place where you will relax much.

Had a wonderful time with the kids. The staff is so friendly and well intentioned. Very diverse and balanced water park mixing leisure and relaxation to the perfection.

Come on a weekday to avoid the crowds. A lovely indoor water spa and park with a variety of pools to enjoy. Some are saline and others are freshwater. There are also two water slides to enjoy and one more man for tubing. there is a restaurant that serves food and snacks. There is also a sauna for an additional fee. Bring your own towels to avoid the towel rental fee.

It's a place to go with kids, but not for couples. Too loud, too dangerous, too many people. For families with kids is surely fun. It would be nice if relaxing areas would be relaxing - maybe some over 16 years zones?

Our visit ended with severe food poisoning. I would expect that in a place dedicated to families, hygiene standards would be maintained.

Updated. The lines are crazy! Even on a working day you have to wait so long! The reception work is very badly organised and not efficient at all! They changed the entrance architecture, but the business process stayed the same, and the problem wasn't solved. That's the bottle neck, and it should be solved. Great place to spend a day. There're lines on the weekend. Good for kids' birthday parties. Birthday kid goes for free and even receives a present. Both kids and adults may enjoy different activities to their taste. Only three slides, average adrenaline level))

A less elaborate clock Tower that used to be the 2nd City gate. Beside it are alot of shops and the parliament Building. GREAT place to eat and do people watch

I got a one hour visit for free, it ended up as a private tour. This was fantastic, I learnt a lot about the tower history and had access to historical documents copies. Also the guide was a student who got to speak english just for me. Perfect tour if you have one hour of spare time.

Nice clock. I recommend you get there 10 minutes before so that you can get a good spot. Is a must if you are in town.

The Käfigturm is a Baroque tower in Bern, Switzerland. It is part of the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site of the Old City of Bern and the tower is a Cultural Property of National Significance. The original tower was built as a gate house during the second expansion of Bern in 1256. Thoroughly enjoyed 👍

Like everywhere else in Switzerland, Bern is clean, efficient and beautiful. Everyone is extremely nice. I never thought I would visit Switzerland, but here I am. I highly recommend it.

Flags make this place look super beautiful. Be careful that trams and bus will be driving on the road. Thus, try not to be mesmerised by the view of lovely city.

A beautiful historic building. It is a pity that we got at the moment when the repair work is being done. But it was still interesting to see the ancient architecture and clocks. If you are in Bern, be sure to visit this place.
