After being destroyed in a fire in 1493, the castle was rebuilt by the 19 various counts of Gruyeres who controlled Sarine Valley from the 11th until the 16th century.
One of the most beautiful castles I had ever seen! The spectacular view of the snow mountain gives you inner peace! Enjoy!

Great experience. When most think of Gruyères, cheese is the first thing that comes to mind, but the chateau here is historic, detailed, and fair priced. It's a smaller chateau, but loaded with history. The views are stunning and the tour itself takes about an hour. It's self guided, but each room has a detailed description of what the room was used for. Highly recommend!

We came to explore Gruyere Village and we decided to first visit the castle. along the way and at the top floor there were amazing views of the local area. The inside of the castle was also very interesting and it was cool to see the different rooms decorated so elegantly. It was overall a good introduction to the history of the region. Definitely a highlight of our trip to experience this.

Been before about 15 years ago. Flower garden nice. Ramparts good, just watch your head. Inside nicely arranged. Plenty to see. English placards.
If arriving by train take the bus. Walking to the Ville is a killer walk anytime worse in heat.

Nice castle,
Amazing view!
You can buy for 16 franks combined ticket with the cheese factory tour, ask them about it.
I’ll recommend to take about 50 minutes for the castle tour.
Very nice place

This is a very cool place to walk around. I didn’t know there was an entire plaza until I entered, I thought I was just going to the castle!
I was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was VERY busy, so I would definitely recommend going during the week if possible. There are a lot of cool shops, lots to eat and drink, and amazing views! The castle garden was closed since it was January but I hear that is a big attraction as well.

Beautiful piece of history. The work and craftsmanship needed for this castle is amazing. There was much thought and design put into each room, nook and cranny.
The views from the balconies and windows are breathtaking. You can see the vast mountains on one side and the flowing valleys on the other side.
This is at least an hour tour of the castle and maybe another 45 minutes for the outside grounds. Walking the town of Gruyères can be another couple of hours.
I highly recommend visiting here.

We enjoyed authentic Swiss fondue while taking in the views during our visit to Gruyères Castle. Take a short hike to this national heritage site and check out the museums, restaurants, and breathtaking landscapes. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful castle. More simple in design than other castles, it served it's function as a protective structure and there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The inside is well preserved and beautiful to see.

After visiting this Castle we went to see waterfalls. It was amazing! The amount of water, the nature in the area! Everything was fantastic! And the rainbow above the water was really great!

I was so impressed with this castle! How can they built this castle in the past and with so beautiful and detailed painting like that??? Still can not believe at all.
I enjoyed being there and can see so many beautiful things during my trip

Absolutely stunning castle with some incredible views! Price of admission is included in the Swiss Travel Pass. If you’re interested in picturesque scenery and medieval history this is the place for you! They also offer lockers free of charge so you have the option of not lugging around a backpack, etc. An absolute must if you are in the Gruyeres region.

That was one of the most fantastic places I ever met when it comes to museums. I prefer to go late in the afternoon before it closes down because I wish to be alone and enjoy the atmosphere. The castle's eye between the arts of Freeport at 850 m and it's one of the most important in Switzerland it's over the village of gray hair which comes from the crane with in France is the word grue. It that's about to leave to the 11th century.

The castle is not that big but has beautiful views and it is also a museum. If you have the swiss travel pass is free. It is a bit of a hike but we'll worth it, I recommend it.

Very well restored castle, with beautiful modern artwork galleries, as well as mid-1800's history. Gardens are absolutely beautiful, and the surrounding Hamlet and shops/restaurants is just so quaint. One of the best places we visited in Switzerland.

Location & surrounding is so serene & overwhelming. There is an market lane on way to castle, so beautiful. Collection too is good. Best part in switzerland , price remains same, go where ever. Too scenic. Absolute beauty.

Gruyères Castle is one of the most famous castles in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.
Getting into the castle was very easy, as you can buy tickets from the reception desk.
The castle includes many sections, and the places you will visit in each section will amaze you.
Thanks to the wonderful ladies at the reception for their kindness and great smiles.
Awesome experience.

A great day out visiting the Chateau, some truly magnificent rooms, with fantastic furnishings and art work, in every room. There's a lot of interesting history in this place. Some great scenic views of the surrounding area. A must if you are visiting Gruyères.

Adorable castle on the hilltop. I recommend driving and parking in one of the lots at the bottom of the hill. It's a short walk up to the small village with a cobblestone street and a number of restaurants and small shops. The Castle is at the top of the hill, you can't miss it. Absolutely beautiful views and lovely architecture. We walked through the whole castle in 40 minutes (though we were in a bit of a rush). Definitely recommend a visit.

My visit to Château de Gruyères was like stepping into a page from a fairy tale. This stunning chateau, nestled in a charming medieval village, offers a picturesque and enchanting experience that is both dreamlike and awe-inspiring.
The beauty of the chateau is matched by its excellent state of preservation. Every detail, from the architecture to the interior decor, is well-maintained, reflecting a deep respect for its historical significance. The museum within the chateau is a treasure trove, offering insightful glimpses into the past and showcasing a variety of artifacts that tell the story of this magnificent place.
Walking through Château de Gruyères is a journey back in time. The ambiance is serene and majestic, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the history and beauty of the surroundings. The chateau and its surroundings are so beautifully preserved and presented that they create a truly awesome experience.
I would highly recommend Château de Gruyères to anyone looking for a cultural and historical adventure in a setting that seems to have leapt out of a storybook. Whether you are a history buff, a lover of architecture, or just someone seeking a unique and memorable experience, Château de Gruyères will not disappoint.

Beautiful castle, amaizing paintings on the walls, history on every corner. The old town is charming, restaurants, museums, souvenires, pitoresque views. Not for strollers though. Parking available.

Very beautiful place. Bring enough time so that you can enjoy everything. It's advised to visit the castle in the early morning when they just open. So you can avoid long queues.
La Maison du Gruyère is a renowned cheese factory that offers an immersive experience for food enthusiasts and cheese lovers. The factory provides guided tours with audio guides, allowing visitors to witness master cheesemakers at work and learn about the traditional cheese-making process. Guests can explore a museum, savor delectable dishes at the on-site restaurant, and browse through a variety of cheese-related products at the gift shop.
Very interesting and educational tour of the cheese factory! You will be given an audio guide and 3 slices of aged cheeses to try. I went to the restaurant after the tour and ordered their rosti and cheese fondue! There is also a shop where you can purchase souvenirs. The staff are friendly!

Fantastic!
We love Gruyère cheese back home, so making a trip out here was a kind of pilgrimage for us. The tour is somewhat short, though a good enough length to make you more fully appreciate the cheese.
The tour ticket comes with a sampler of Gruyère cheese at three different ages: 6, 9, and 12 months. You also get views of real cheese production from above. It's hypnotic, in a way, and we watched longer than most other guests as the employees below drained a vat of milk.
The gift shop has a few Gruyère souvenirs, but for the most part contained generic Switzerland souvenirs. Unable to take fresh cheese back home overseas, we settled for a cap and keychain.
The real highlight was the restaurant! We ordered risotto and quiche. I've never had either of these dishes made with Gruyère cheese and they blew me away! The risotto was something I never would have considered a candidate for the cheese, and the quiche was perfectly fluffy and light.
As an enthusiastic home cook, I left inspired, and can't wait to get back home and experiment more with the cheese I've loved for 30 years!

This is a good destination to stop at if you are already in Gruyère. This is THE cheese location of Switzerland so it is a must see. However it is a quite unremarkable destination. There is a quick audio guide that takes you around giving the backstory on grass. You can see some of the machines that make the cheese however they only run at certain hours of the day.

Adorable cheese factory with a very convenient self guided tour in multiple languages. Included as part of Swiss Travel Pass and a definite must if you are in the area! Cheese is definitely unique to the region and extremely delicious. Due to the herbs eaten my the cows and the level of care applied in manufacturing the cheese it’s of superb marksmanship. Tour also includes a tasting packet of various aged cheeses. Yum!
Byron Ng — Google review
Very cool visit, only for 7 chf. Visitors get a sample of Gruyères cheese to taste. Interestingly presented history of the cheese and the region. A wide range of languages available in audio guide included in the price. I also like that the visit wasn’t too long- around 40 minutes.

The place is fun & very educational! We were given headset & cheese sample for free. The people at the desk is good. But i just hope she could be friendlier. The tip is to come between 0900-1200 for live cheese making
Rafeeqa Rashid — Google review
Not expensive but very interesting. They give you samples of their cheese before the tour and it's fun and informative. We were lucky to see the process in real time as they show you how they make cheese. It was fantastic. Definitely go in the morning so you can watch the action. I learned a lot.

Nice place to visit. Very tasty cheese, but not everyone will like the smell. Had to wait 30 min in line to get ticket and enter. You could see people on the factory make cheese live.

Nice place to visit and have a good idea about cheese making and how the cow's produce the milke and how they make the gruyere cheese.
You will see and listen to the story of cheese making in the factory.
Then you can buy a lot of items from the store or have a great food in the restaurant.
ALI ALGHAMDI — Google review
Factory visit was OK. Expected a bit more, but maybe it was just my false expectations.
For the restaurant you better book a table in advance. In general- worth visiting if you are somewhere close by, not worth traveling for many hours just to see this.
Ira Zhenchak — Google review
I liked it! The food was really good and not excessively expensive. There is a souvenir shop and you can buy cheese, visit the museum, and in the morning you can see how they make cheese. Very nice experience overall.
Leila FERRERA — Google review
If you are into Cheese, this is a must visit. Please go there before 11 AM so that you can enjoy the Cheese making process. Otherwise it's more like a video documentary and not as exciting. Also do go to the restaurant as it's a cheese lovers delight. Awesome Risotto, Rosti, Fondue and Salads. The Gruyeres train station is right across and the Gruyere castle is a few mins walk. Please note that there are no real vegan options at the restaurant.
Ritesh Sharan — Google review
Not worth the visit. Skip it.
There seems to be some cheese making but not all the processes was happening. Audio self guided “tour”, there is really not much to see. Gave a small packet of cheese for free.
Food at the restaurant was of good portion and not too bad hence the 2 star. Non-English menu. But unable to make up for the rather rude mannerism of the staff. Unfriendly to tourist, maybe just Asians.
Angi Wong — Google review
Helpful front desk staff. She explained that there are different stages throughout the cheese making process, as we were late, we could only see the last stage where the liquid was being poured into moulds and drain excess water. Arrive earlier to follow the whole process. A small speaker device is provided (English language available) to guide you through the tour. There’s also some bottles with grass/flower smell to fully engage your olfactory.
Restaurant servers were very efficient as food was served in a timely manner. Maria was patient and knowledgeable while she explained the menu to us. Kudos keep up the good work.

As a home cheese maker I loved this tour and the visibility of the process of making on a commercial scale! Great for kids and very interactive and informative. You can see the cheeses aging and they give you a nice little sample. Awesome gift shop and friendly staff, highly recommend and worth the time.

Really great place to visit! For me when you are in Gruyère it is a must! I would recommend to be there about 12:00 already inside to see the process how the cheese is made! It looked great and it is an interesting thing to see. After some knowledge I went to the restaurant. For me it’s a must as well! I got a fondue for one person and it was simply amazing! So if you travel alone no worries they have portions for singles as well! Great experience and very tasty one!

Nice place to see how Gruyère cheese is made, the museum explains the process really good. Gotta arrive before 12 pm to see the process. The cheese is good tasting too.

If you are planning on visiting La Maison du Gruyère from Zurich by train make sure to get up early as they only do the cheese making In the morning. We got the for 2:00 pm and we had an audio tour and three different ages of cheese to try. The gift shop had a large variety of items but I seemed to be impressed with the selection of Ricola. After we walked up the hill to the castle/little town!
Alycia Phylis — Google review
Do visit if you are interested in cheese and how it’s made. I believe the cheese that is made here is named after the area and is also one of the cheeses used in Fondue. They give you a sample if you pay for the tour, but you can always buy more from the gift shop.
You should also drop by the Castle and the museam. There are several restaurants and shop for a nice meal and some shopping.
Overall an excellent place to spend a quiet idyllic weekend.

It was my first place where make cheese. I like it. There is an audio guide, small package with cheese for tasting, interesting history. It was quick but interesting. If you want to see the real process, you have to come at the first part of the day. Good shop with souvenirs and a cafe where you can try cheese fondue. This place - must visit.

Very nice little stop in Gruyère! It's a small museum and can be visited in about 20 minutes, but it is still well priced and worth the quick visit. We got fondue in the restaurant and it was delicious! Very attentive service and a nice shop as well. I recommend it!

La Maison du Gruyère offers an exceptional journey into the world of cheese-making, combining education, observation, and delightful culinary experiences. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of cheese and the warmth of the staff, setting the tone for a memorable visit.
The tour of the cheese factory is both enlightening and fascinating. It provides a comprehensive look at how cheese is produced, from the initial stages to the final product. The opportunity to take photographs of the cheese cellar, where wheels of cheese are carefully aged for up to 12 months, is a unique experience that cheese enthusiasts will particularly appreciate.
Witnessing the production process firsthand is a rare treat. The transparency and openness of the facility allow visitors to gain a real sense of the craftsmanship and dedication that goes into every wheel of cheese. It's an educational experience that's as enjoyable as it is informative.
The staff at La Maison du Gruyère deserves special mention for their friendliness and expertise. They enhance the experience by sharing their knowledge and passion for cheese-making.
The highlight for many, myself included, is the cheese restaurant located within the facility. The fondue and Rösti I tried there were simply delicious, embodying the rich flavors and traditions of Swiss cuisine. The restaurant's ambiance, combined with the quality of the food, makes it a perfect way to conclude the visit.
Overall, La Maison du Gruyère is a must-visit for anyone interested in the art of cheese-making, Swiss culture, or simply looking for a unique and tasty experience. The blend of education, observation, and culinary delight makes it a standout attraction.

Enjoyable every time we have been there.
So much to see, so many beautiful butterflies, plants, flowers and animals, never a dull moment!
And if you bank with BCF, you’ll even get a discount.
Highly recommended, just don’t forget you’ll probably need to take some layers off once you get inside, especially in the autumn/winter time!

Papiliorama is an amazing place, I've been there many times and it' always been great. There are different houses with different themes; Jungle Track, Dark House with bats and nocturnal animals, and of course the house with butterflys. There's also a pettingzoo outside and a restaurant. The butterfly house is the main reason for me to go there and I can spend hours watching them and photographing them. This foundation even has a huge natural reserve program in Belize.
Raffael W. — Google review
My visit to the Swiss butterfly institution this morning was a clear mistake on my behalf, thus the poor note given. When I arrived one hour after opening, there was a 50 m queue in front of the entrance, half of which consisted of small children, the rest of their parents. I had ignored that most parents have taken time off between the X-mas and New Year week-ends. Every square meter inside was filled with children, prams, noise and parents that were showing off their best educational talents. Needless to say, there was little place and peace for the butterflies that swarmed like crazy in what remained of free space. I managed to get a few shots in the heat before returning home exhausted. A few things to remember if you plan to visit the Papillorama for a photo shoot; spend at least 30 min in the tropical environment before start shooting, in particular if the outside temperature is more than 10-15 degrees lower than the inside one and you will avoid having water condensing on your front element. And most importantly, come here on a weekday outside the holidays.

A truly fascinating place. If you like tropical rainforests and butterflies it’s the place to be for you. Entering the Papiliorama is like teleporting from Switzerland to South America. The variety of tropical plants and the amazing atmosphere takes your breath away. Maybe it’s as well the high humidity. They have a second room the Nocturama, full of nocturnal animals that are enjoying the pitch black. With the aid of blue light lamps your eyes are able to adjust pretty fast to the darkness of the room. It’s an amazing place and id suggest it to everyone missing the tropical environment. Easy accessible with public transport. And very good food in the cantina.

This was a really nice visit. We were skeptical at first because the entrance fee is 19 francs per person, which we thought was a lot (plus 4 francs per car parking). However, after about 4 hours of visiting this is completely justified. There are 3 different domes. The first with the butterflies, the second with the night animals (great with the sloths) and the third as a kind of jungle trek. All are great in their own way. In the one with the nocturnal animals (Nocturama) we were scared several times, because we did not expect the size of the animals (for example with the piglets). It is important to be quiet there, difficult depending on the age of the children. The outdoor area is also beautiful and large. All in all a successful thing. Worth it as a full or half day trip with children.

Very well done place to visit with all family especially if you have children, easily you can spend a half day even a day. There are three sectors, one for butterflies, one for night animals and the third one for jungle. I visited in 2013 for the first time, after that I visit it regularly for work since I bring my customers there or for a normal day. I highly recommend it

🇨🇭 lovely place to visit for the hole family. We came by train/ tram and its an easy route. There is nothing around the area other than Papiliorama, so get things you need before taking the tram.
This place has an area filled with butterflies for you to experience, a Necro area that relatively very dark, various animals (nothing wild) and an open park. There is one restaurant that has food (healthy and BIO focused), snacks and drinks. You can easily spend 2h to 3h here.
I do recommend this place. However, I think it needs updating and a bit more activities that will entertain kids and adults.

Chillon Castle is a 13th-century fortress located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The castle is well known for its beautiful lakeside promenade, which makes it a popular tourist destination.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Chillon Castle and it was an incredible experience. The castle itself is absolutely breathtaking, with its stunning location on the shores of Lake Geneva and its beautifully preserved medieval architecture. The tour guides were knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information about the history of the castle and the people who lived there. I was especially impressed by the audio guide, which allowed me to learn even more about the castle and its history at my own pace. The castle's location on the lake made for some breathtaking views and the gardens were a lovely spot to relax and take in the scenery. Overall, my visit to Chillon Castle was a highlight of my trip to Switzerland and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The castle is good for a quick evening visit. Takes about 1.5-2 hours roughly to study the captions in great detail and know a bit about the history and the background. The access is easy. There's a boat dock and the railway line that connects the station of Montreux is close by. They do have an entry fee. Some places have access restricted to visitors. You can choose to have an audio guide.

The audio guide provided great narration and compelling stories of the history as well as recent developments and efforts to maintain the beautiful castle. Would recommend setting aside 2 hours for sufficient time to explore the castle.

A smaller but beautiful complete castle. Nice structural components. Beautiful crystal clear water surrounds it including a shallow clear moat. Access to the towers were not allowed which is the only reason for minus a star rating.

Such a beautiful castle. You admire how it is preserved from the ancient years. You can see the transformation if it across the years from room to room. If you follow the recommended plan of the visit, you can see everything, but you are not limited only to this. You can follow your own path and you will always arrive to main open plaza of the castle. The castle has a great view to the Leman lake and it’s so interesting to see how the regions and borders between countries have changed across the years. A beautiful activity for your weekend or free time.

Incredible! Fantastic! Unexpected wonder! Honestly I could not say anything bad about this place especially considering this was a 1 day stopover for us and it was a place I had found online as a recommendation through Social Media. I was not expecting much but as we approached along the walkway on the beach you could see why this has been suggested. Immediately you can see how well preserved this castle is from the moats and walls around the outside and then the rooms, towers and even dungeons on the inside. If you have the time, I would recommend the audio tour to really get an understanding of the castle and its history.

A beautiful island castle located in lake Geneva with interesting history. The castle has various sections showing different functionalities the castle have had in the past. Make sure to take the stairs to climb up the castle to get an incredible view. There were also galleries inside the castle showcasing antique crafts & objects.

Would visit again and again! The castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles having been extensively studied and preserved. You can buy tickets online or in person at the gate. Depending on when you're visiting you're much better off buying ahead. We visited a couple of hours before they closed and didn't feel rushed exploring the castle. You'll get to visit the dungeons, tower keep, living areas, and even the latrines (which shockingly after ~700 years still smell...used). The brochure guide comes in many languages and is extremely helpful for appreciation. There is a gift shop inside and one outside, each with different items. Staff is friendly and speaks English.

It feels like being transported back to the Middle Ages, and whether inside or outside the castle, it's truly astonishing. However, the underground areas gave me a slightly eerie feeling, not because they're bad, but because they're so authentic, making you feel like you're reliving that historical period. The immersive experience is incredibly strong! I recommend renting an audio guide to fully appreciate the charm of the castle.

Awesome castle from the 1200s right on lake Geneva. We did the self guided tour which was easy to follow and took about an hour. Some really cool history and amazing views of the surrounding area. There is also an option for a longer guided tour if you'd like.

Strongly recommend the audio tour. It comes with videos too. 6 bucks and you get great information about the castle that makes every room interesting. Loved the entire trip, would do again.

Well maintained, with good and ample signage in English. Connectivity is good as well with the local buses stopping right outside. Castle itself is intriguing, almost like traveling in time with artifacts and untouched walls from the 13th century.

Beautiful castle from the outside but we did not have a chance to visit. However, we did eat at Cafe Byron (great experience and food!) where I burned myself on the very hot metal barrier. They are aware of the danger as children have also done the same but it is up to the castle to fix. They could easily add wood on top of the metal- I hope they do so no one else gets hurt...

Gorgeous medieval castle on the Geneva lake with beautiful views. There is a museum inside with various exhibitions and lots to see and learn. It is famously linked to an epic poem by Byron named "the prisoner of Chillon". There is a great café just next to the castle and a souvenir shop. There are lots of benches to sit around and enjoy the view and a perfectly manicured garden all around the castle.

Fascinating to see the restored work done through the centuries, 1100s forward. So amazing to be able to walk through a maze of courtyards, covered bridges and rooms while experiencing the historical presence of the structure.
Accompanying furnishings are thoughtfully curated and arranged, complemented by painted walls from appropriate periods in history.
I didn't get an eerie feeling (although I skipped the dungeon and crypt), as I have before when visiting such a structure. Rather, I felt as if I could possibly have lived there during that time period!

Very beautiful scene around the castle, walkable surroundings everywhere! The best part I guess is 3 hours max of free parking! Never miss if you have nervous of parking panic!

Brilliant castle at the lake shore of Lac Leman. Accessible by train or with a boat/ferry. The tour through exhibition is very well structured and information is available in German/English and French. Using the audio Guide is highly recommended, giving a good understanding of the castle use through the centuries.

Another nice castle to look around. Parking is a bit of a pain but we figured it out. Interesting things to see within and great views around. The climb to the top of the main tower was a particular highlight. One weird thing was their reluctance to sell us a family ticket as we only had one chid - never ever had that before!

Located by the lake, Chillon Castle should be on your list of places to visit when in Montreux not only for its historical significance but also for the views of Montreux.
The perfect time to visit would be when the weather is sunny. This ensures that the temperature in the castle is not too cold and you could get a picturesque image by the lake.
The Montreux Riveria card which most hotels provide to their guests gives you 50% off the entrance fare.
For those who want to learn about the historical and cultural significance of the castle in detail, an audio guide is available. If you decide not to opt for the audio guide, there are also description of each rooms on the walls which you could read.

A brilliant construction on the Lake Geneva with a spectacular view. The attention to detail is mind blowing. This castle has a lot of history dating back the mediaeval times. We got a free entry through the swiss travel pass so we checked it out while we were on Montreux. It was a beautiful building with lots of chambers, rooms, towers and hidden secret compartments and doors. They also have a restaurant by the castle which is quite convenient. We can also walk along the lake from the castle which has a breathtaking view. The entire tour has a guided tour or a audio guide to know about the history. A must visit history place while in Montreux, Switzerland.

This castle is so so so beautiful.
It's a must to visit when you're in Montreux. I can't help but be amazed by all the things preserved in the castle, going through all made me think as if I was travelling back to those olden days.
Wished I could spend more time here.
Good to visit earlier to avoid crowds.
The Freddie Mercury Memorial statue is a shrine to all the fans who visit it. It is a bronze sculpture placed on the lakeside promenade in Montreux, Switzerland. The statue depicts Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the legendary rock group Queen, and is one of the most popular things to do in Montreux.
A place to visit! It's incredible the constant flow of people taking pictures and try to be close to his statue.. and of course, i did the same :)
Donovan Ferreti — Google review
A great place to stop by if you are a lover of Queen. I am sure this place gets a lot of attention during his birthday, and also his final day.
The man has made a huge impact on the world, and it can be seen by all this fans.
Swing by the old studio to get a feel for how things were done back then. Located inside the casino now.

It's true that Montreux can get quite crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons, and popular attractions like the Freddie Mercury statue can draw large crowds. Freddie Mercury's connection to Montreux is well-known, and the statue is a fitting tribute to his time spent in the town.
The quote he mentioned, "If you want peace of soul, come to Montreux," reflects the serene and tranquil atmosphere that Montreux offers, despite the occasional crowds. It's a place where visitors can find a sense of calm and relaxation, surrounded by the beauty of Lake Geneva and the mountains.
While it's understandable that the crowds can sometimes detract from the peacefulness of Montreux, taking a moment to appreciate the beauty and history of the town can help rekindle that sense of tranquility that Freddie Mercury found so appealing.

It's a statue alright! Interestingly enough, I was able to see it during a weekend celebration leading to his birthday, so many people were around. Unfortunately, the first and best set of pics (I took) were not backed up in my photos, so I had my husband text me one, and we went back to take some more. Nothing beat the evening shots I had the first time though.

Being a Queen fan, this was a must see while traveling from Switzerland to the Burgundy region of France. The Freddie Mercury statue is on the shore of Lake Geneva in Montreaux, a short distance from the Montreaux Casino (the Deep Purple song Smoke On The Water). It was very cool to finally see this in person.

Statue itself very good likeness, Montreux's lakeside is not as well kept as the adjacent town of Vevey which has well set out town amenities - affordable shopping, lively famers'market, antique and collectables market and a clean, inviting promenade lakeside used well by bathers and picnicers.

This is a public bronze statue of Freddie Mercury along the Montreux boardwalk. It's always surrounded by people so avoid visiting on a Saturday or any time midday if you want easy access to a photo. You also might enjoy reading through some of the fan mail at the foot of the statue.

Yes, it's only a statue, meaning: nothing much to do but to snap a picture, but if you love Freddie/Queen, it's sooo worth stopping by. There is something about being in the same places (Montreaux) an amazing artist like him has been that makes it such a moving experience. All the better to do it while enjoying a lovely walk next to a lake with beautiful views!

Iconic statue of Freddiein Montreux.
We were fortunate to arrive here on the evening when there was a fred concert with Queen Forever.
Great evening and great atmosphere.
Guided tours are led down stairs into this deep, scenic gorge with dramatic rock formations.
A busy spot but worth the detour! Nice staff in shop and downstairs at the entrance of the gorges where you have to show your ticket. This man told us all about a fern species which only on that spot, grows year round. Its a very special eco system. I loved the flowers outside at the restaurant.

Nice to see but short. I thought is was a long walk along the valley and the river.
You are through the actual gorge in 30 minutes if you take it slow. For 18 euro it is overpriced.

Beautiful place. Very impressive but short section of a dramatic gorge. Only accessible by paying 18€ pp. Too expensive for a 20 min walk. My guide book from 2017 mentioned still a price of 6,90 €

The Olympic Museum is a lavish museum dedicated to the history of the Olympic Games. It features interactive displays, temporary themed exhibitions, and site-specific sculptural works. The museum is located next to the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.
Impromptu day trip to Lausanne from Geneva and we visited the Olympic Museum, which is timely. It was informative and had excellent displays of past Olympic events, athletes, medals, etc. There were lots of interactive activities & we especially enjoyed the exercises to test our balance and coordination. The outside was well maintained garden with architectural art and track.

The cathedral of Lausanne, built in the Gothic style in the 12th century, is a masterpiece of ecclesiastical art. It towers above Lake Geneva and is considered one of Switzerland's most beautiful churches. Its ornate painted portal, belfry, and rose window are some of its most striking features. Restoration and construction continue to this day.
A must visit in Lausanne considering it’s free entry. An ancient church with a grand atmosphere. There is a counter in the church and you can make a payment of chf 5 to use the staircase up to the rooftop where the bell is and strike the bell. There is a panoramic view at the rooftop as well! Breathe taking view.

Gothic style cathedral with fascinating stained glasses and beautiful architecture. They also have a free guided tour of the cathedral at certain timings. We went on a weekday and we were the only ones yet the guide was sweet enough to take us around and explain everything in detail. You can literally see the various timings(centuries) the cathedral was remodelled. Before visiting, just check if there is any organ concert is scheduled on the day. If so, you're in for a treat.

We visited Lausanne on a day trip from Geneva. I read that this is Switzerland’s largest church and the finest. It was very impressive and glad we had a chance to visit it before they closed for the day.
Catherine Hunt — Google review
Definitely a must visit if you find yourself in Lausanne. The steep uphill walk is definitely not suitable to those with leg problems. But if you can afford to walk up there, visit this cathedral.
The decoration style is simple yet so majestic with the stained glass being so deep in colours and so meaningful it its designs. On one side, you have stained glass telling the story of Switzerland. On the other side, the stained glass tells the story of Christianity. And when you walk toward the end of the cathedral, there is a big rose shaped stained glass which will bless you with its beauty and peacefulness. You don't have to be a Christian to appreciate this.
Be sure to stop by and look at the scenery outside of the balcony by the cathedral too. The view from above will give you the refreshing feeling you need.
Ornwara Tritrakarn — Google review
A mesmerizing masterpiece. Its soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and serene ambiance create an awe-inspiring atmosphere. Don't miss the breathtaking rose window and the panoramic view from the tower. The pipe organ is also also an interesting discovery.

Beatiful old Cathedral with mosaic windows and possibility to walk up to the tower for a small fee. We were pleased to see this interesting historical building. There are about 220 steps to go to its top and enjoy the "birds view" of Lausanne and the lake. Strongly recommended also for families

Beautiful cathedral. Worth a visit. Often they have concerts at night. During the day you can often catch someone practicing the organ. If it is a beautiful day get a ticket to climb the stairs and go see the views from the top and also you can see where the guet (“cryer”)stays at night. The guet has been calling out the hours from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., 365 days a year from the tower of the cathedral. It is at least a 600 year-old tradition.

The Creux du Van, a large rocky formation located about 14km east of Motiers in a natural reserve, is an incredible sight to behold. The crescent-moon shaped wall was formed by glacial erosion and rises 440m above the surrounding countryside. A short walk leads visitors to the breathtaking abyss which measures over 1km long.
Creux du Van is an amazing place for a low altitude hike in the Western part of Switzerland.
The hike around the formation is relatively easy and can be done from end of March.
The hike is approximately 12km and has elevation gain of 770 meters.
It can be completed with a good overall fitness level. I suggest to take nordic sticks with you.
Definetly a musst If you would like to enjoy the nature and the scenic view!

You can hike from the city of Noiraigue. Depending on how fit you are it will take more or less time. I needed about an hour and a half to reach the top (and the trail is steep!) but it is absolutely worth it. It is a great place to visit and I will certainly go again someday! If you are not that fit I am afraid this is not the place for you.
Alejandro Montiel — Google review
Great view but hard trail to hike up
How to get there?
If you take public transportation, you get off at railway station: Noiraigue. The way up: you will turn left, then right, then you follow the signs to sightsee spot: Le Soliat. That are two paths upwards: I took the right side one, it is relatively long, but not so steep. Be careful that the way up is very nature, you will need good hiking shoes!
Plan more time if you have kids with you. It took us 3 hours to up, and 2 hours downhill. The path is quite rough and tough, I warned you 😂
If you drive there, it might drive up to the restaurant Le Soliat. Please call them to verify. I would recommend this way for my next visit.
Crusoe Whu — Google review
The easiest way to see it is to drive up to the parking of the restaurant Le Soliat. The cliff is then at a 3 min walk though a field.
I do recommended that you combine this sightseeing with a walk, as the cliff as sole attraction (depending on how long you had to drive to get there) is not THAT spectacular. For this, stop at a parking about 2 km before you arrive at the site and walk the rest of the way.
You are in a relatively remote area so take a few provisions with you :)
Good thing to know: everything is free of charge (parking & sightseeing)!
Nicolas Whoever — Google review

The Palais des Nations is a building complex built in the 1930s near Geneva, Switzerland which served as the headquarters of the League of Nations from 1933 until 1946. It is now used by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Assembly Hall, Council Chamber and other landmarks are on show in a fascinating guided tour.

I didn’t do the tour inside as it was about to close.
From outside the building, its garden with the flags and the sign have their special vibe and awesome to take pics with.

A must see place when you are visiting Geneve!
During my posting in Geneve from 2007 - 2011 in Geneva, I spent most of my time here..every working days perhaps :D..so I got a chance to go around and enjoy its beauty. I even get the chance to visit the place again for works until the pandemic hits.
An organized tour is also available for tourists, with extra discount if you're coming with someone with UN ID. But please check the arrangement during the pandemic as some places close their tour. If you have a friend or family with the UN ID, you can come along with them to get in and see the Palais yourself accompanies by the person with the ID.
Don't miss Room XX or Alliance for Civilization Room with its magnificent ceiling work...General Assembly, Salle des pas perdu and the famous backyard as well as mountainous scenery, the Council Chamber.
Many interesting art objects and gifts from States are also in displays.I also love the murals in the library....and of course, Gate 1 where we have the lines of flags of the UN member states.if you are lucky, you can also see beautiful peacocks roaming freely in some corners of the yard...
Don't forget to walk around the Armillery sphere and take pictures there with the Palais as the background..so lovely...There is also a typical Swiss chalet near the main gate...
A true palace indeed...with all its endless and enchanted beauty...
Take your time and enjoy it...

It's such a fantastic place for meetings, the quiet nature of meetings is just unique, and everyone's listening through an earphone speaker. The WiFi is also so good...
The downside is that I've not seen prayer rooms and the toilets aren't Muslim-friendly but thats manageable. In a nutshell the Palais des Nations is such great place to be.

The UN was the top of my sons list when we booked our trip to Geneva, so we just had to get tickets to get inside!
You have to book a tour to get inside the gates, we booked online roughly 3 weeks before, but it tells you to do it as soon as you can as it books up fast! You get a guided 1hour tour which is OK, but it's honestly worth booking just to get inside the gates, so many brilliant photo opportunities! The buildings and gardens are beautiful! My son was so happy getting his picture with the flags! Our tour guide was lovely, I can't remember his name! He really did try to squeeze as much in as possible in the short time! It's worth it as the tickets are quite cheap!

I was here for the World Health Assembly. It is a big compound with different buildings and rooms for sessions and meetings. There are directions although it may get a bit confusing if one does not understand French. Over all, it is beautiful with a lot of green spaces and fairly accessible.

Guided tours for the Palace of Nations (Palais des Nations) were fully booked or not available during my visit to Geneva in mid-April 2023.
As a tourist, it was interesting to see the nearby Alley of the Flags and Broken Chair sculpture.

I have always dreamed of visiting the United Nations, so this was very moving and awesome for me! I love the mission of the UN, to bring people together to find common ground; to work together to identify and solve issues of human rights throughout the world. A worldwide brotherhood and sisters of people who care! I love it❣️

Peace ✌️
Couldn't attend the UN inside tour as the timing didn't sync. But went around the building.
Did a customary search for my India's Flag among the posts and satisfied with it 😄
Rajapandian Raja — Google review
Old but beautiful UN building. There is a simple but really pleasant garden behind the main buildings, where you can see a lake and mountains from afar. In this garden you will also find some interesting sculptures.
If you are a tourist, there is a guided tour which will bring you to observe meeting rooms from the top.
For delegates, it should be noted that the cafe is quite small and the cafeteria has limited food choices. (The cafeteria also only open until 2 PM.) Maybe consider bringing your own lunches if you have time to prepare one.
Ornwara Tritrakarn — Google review
We had a fantastic guide (I'm sorry, I don't remember her name but she's from Belgium) who provided us with some interesting information about the UN. We were lucky enough to visit one of the conference rooms whilst a meeting with the Human Rights council was underway.
Definitely keep an eye on the website as it appeared that all tours for the days we wanted were booked out but I happened to check a week out and a whole heap were available.

I have been visiting Palais des Nations for past three years for multiple business meetings and events. This place is one of the beautiful & happening place for Diplomacy & International Relations.
Cascades du Hérisson is a stunning natural attraction located in the Jura region, offering a picturesque hiking trail spanning approximately four kilometers. The trail features seven magnificent waterfalls, with heights reaching up to 65 meters, sourced by the Bonlieu and Ilay lakes. This destination is highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and hikers of all levels. Visitors can expect well-maintained paths that provide access to various viewpoints for observing the breathtaking cascades.
Beautiful landside, great for a tour with kids. (the roads can be slippery)

Very nice place for walk and kids hangout.
Remember there is one parking above and then you walk down, another parking is down and you walk up.
If you are with kids preferably go to parking down.

Parking mandatory (5€/h) and a lot of people over the weekend.
Organize yourself to avoid the crowd.
Julien Hurth — Google review
Quite crowded but not without reason. Several lathe and small waterfalls can be viewed and experienced from a will maintained path.
Though mostly easy to walk with stairs were needed, it can be sometimes a bit steep and slippery.
Because there is only one trail along the river and the trail at points only allows one person, when crowded it is easily jammed.
Don't forget to bring some food and drinks with you if you venture past the first waterfall.
There is plenty of parking space (paid).
Stefan van Aalst — Google review
There are several walks to the waterfalls, we took the short one from the road above, but I believe you can walk a longer tour along the river and all around. You're able to walk very close to the falls themselves and watch from secure metal gantry. You can also view the falls from a viewpoint above.
There is a restaurant nearby, but I believe it is only open during certain seasons. It would provide a wonderful view of the falls while eating though!
Mike Simpson (cespar) — Google review

A beautiful but also demanding path for which you should definitely take safe footwear. The effort is definitely rewarded with beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking views. Unfortunately, the parking fee of €15 is really not cheap, but hopefully the money will at least be used to preserve the beautiful natural spectacle :)
Kuchen Geckarbor — Google review
Beautiful waterfalls and walk...would definately recommend it for a day trip. It could be quite difficult to walk parts of the route if you had limited mobility as there are many steps and slippery rocks but you can choose how far you walk. On the route we took I couldn't see any restrooms or restaurants which were open unfortunately
Emily — Google review
Nice cascade. Unfortunately, it was almost dry because of the hot summer.
-2 stars because of the parking lot for which you have to pay (5 euro 1h). The first 20 minutes are free, but it is almost impossible (without running) in that timeslot to walk to the waterfall and back
Stefan de Vries — Google review
Absolutely stunning waterfalls. Make sure you wear good footwear with a lot of grip as it's quite slippy in places. Also it's best not to go off on the longer walk in the forest without a map as it is really easy to get lost! There are multiple paths and they are not sign posted once you get away from the main walk along the gorge with the waterfalls.

About 1.5 hours stroll in the woods. Great location for a pick nick. Avoid rainny days as it can be slippery.

Cultural landmark
Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans is an 18th-century industrial site listed by UNESCO, offering cultural events, exhibitions, and artists' residencies. Visitors can learn about the historical significance of salt production and its impact on history. The site provides a tablet and VR animation in multiple languages for an immersive experience. While some visitors noted repetitive explanations and desired more insight into the tools used, others praised the high-quality exhibitions and visionary architecture.
Wow what an impressive location! Definitely worth a visit. Bring enough time as there is lots to see. Great if you have a day to spare in the area and need something to do.

Boring unless interested in architecture, or clowns. If you want buy their salt, then you can buy their himalayan salt. It's on to drive past. Really expensive to just look at two buildings
Little_kyra 621 — Google review
Excellent outing for those who like architecture, art, history, and gardens, all rolled into one. We easily spent 3.5 hrs there.

Striking architecture with gardens of equally stunning proportions! The different sections of the garden were interesting to vistit and nice to see the sustainable approach with lots of natural habitats for wildlife. I hope to come back soon!

Extremely well presented. Large site so need a couple of hours minimum. If your interested in history of salt production or archetecture well worth a visit. Being English I was not aware of Claude - Nicolas Ledoux, amazing man.
malcolm clayton — Google review
It's a nice historical place. I like it.
Azaar Zubair — Google review
Well, as the French say, 'boff...' La Saline Royale is impressive from an aerial view, but the earthly experience isn't amazing unless you're really, really into historical salt production.
The entrance fee is 14 euros (adult), which is too high for what is essentially a long walk in the hot Burgundy sun, surrounded by a semicircle of closed buildings. Around the perimeter, little garden spaces have been created; you can tell that they are making an effort to liven up the landscaping, but the gardens are overgrown (got stung by giant nettles growing into the pathways) and the plants are nothing exceptional.
The museum is a welcome cool break, but the exhibits are not well linked to the audio tablet.
Better to spend your time and money driving down the national road and enjoying the verdant Burgundy countryside.

I remember seeing it on a certain TBS program and was curious about it.
In reality, it was semicircular, and it seems that the construction of a circular industrial city like the one in the model was not realized.
Rent a tablet and walk around the grounds while listening to the commentary.

A wonderful and beautiful place, as much for its historical interest as a UNESCO heritage site, as for the botanical garden spaces, curated in an attractive and accessible way with lots of information. Not to be missed if you are anywhere near.

A super cool place to visit. The entrance was a bit too expensirve (14 euros) but the buildings and exhibitions were excellent.

Fascinating site. So well restored and explained.
Loved the temporary exhibitions too. The gardens were fantastic - we especially liked the ones by the landscape architect students.
Spent hours here. A fantastic visit.
Ann Gleave — Google review
Interesting place to visit, I learn a lot on how salt was made and the importance of it in history.
You visit the Saline Royale with a tablet and VR animation, it’s very well done and available in a dozen of languages and you wouldn’t understand a lot without it. The natation of the story could be improved a bit, there is a lot of repetition of the same explanation.
I would have love to be able to see more of the tool they used at least a smaller model. Everything is displayed on the tablet but it would be nice to have more real life things to see.
The part of the visit on Ledoux project was very interesting and I appreciate having more things to see in real and less on the tablet that just bring audio information.
Regarding the new garden, maybe it’s because it’s new and plants are not fully grown but it was not that interesting.

A unique architectural ensemble of some salt processing factory built by visionary architect in 17th century. Some visionary example of early stage of industrial revolution. Highly recommended.
Vincent BOUCHIAT — Google review
A really interesting place to visit with high quality exhibitions and audio guide. The architect was truly visionary. Also lots of information about the history of salt use and value, the changing use of the unique building, and UNESCO impact. My children (7 and 11) enjoyed the treasure hunt on the audio guide. When we were there a really stunning sensory art experience by Charles Belle was amazing and unexpected. Also the cafe is good with very special outdoor spaces to eat, created from natural willow. A lovely, stimulating and unusual place to be.
Medieval Romanesque church with stone vaults & many statues, mosaics & stained-glass windows.
Beautiful Building, well worth seeing the main church and surroundings. The building has a special feel to it, as you enter the nave (main part of the church)
Ken Grimm — Google review
This church and Abbey is one of the best preserved in France. It is surrounded by it's own walls and gates which gives it an impression of a fotres.
Already in the 6th century a church was built here in a place where there used to be a Roman castrum or army camp.
The Abbey got a boost in 875 when the remains of Saint Philibert were put to rest in this church and gave it it's name.
The church is sober on the interior but has some interesting mosaics behind the main altar.
At the entrance is a small exhibition.
The Abbey has a nice central courtyard

Great church, well worth a visit!
Bas Engels — Google review
One of the most amazing churches I have been to, and I have been to hundreds or thousands of them. Beautifully restored, but not too much changed from its original state. Wonderful natural light. Not too crowded. Amazing architecture. Interesting, beautiful town that is not too touristy (at least in January, when I visited). Great, inexpensive lunch at the restaurant just outside (to the south of) the main entrance. If you like old buildings or Romanesque architecture, you should not miss Tournus.
Max Niedzwiecki — Google review
Nice mosaics in the choir section. Don't forget to go down in the crypt
Christophe Seynaeve — Google review
Beautiful abbey of some significance giving an insight into what Cluny may have been. Modern stained glass windows compliment the soaring architecture of the nave. Mosaics in the ambulatory, a magnificent crypt and the adjacent St. Michel Chapel all add to a great visit.
Robert Allan — Google review
Historical building, still used as a church for mass, surounded by part of its ancient defensive towers. A view shops and cafes also provide interesting goods and drinks/food. Tournus tourist office is also located opposite the abbey giving good information about the local region. Public toilets were closed due to Convid 19. Parking the car should be done outside the Abbey grounds. The SNCF railway station is but a short walk away.

Wonderful Abbey, there was a wedding today and I was thinking how lovely to marry here. To walk around and see how old but well preserved it is, a lovely little town on the Soane river. A pleasure to visit.
The Museum of Fine Arts Dijon, located in the former palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, contains major collections of western art from the 14th-19th century. After a nine-year renovation, the museum has become a work of art itself and is one of France's most outstanding museums. The Salle des Gardes is a notable exhibit featuring ornately carved sepulchres from late medieval times.
Another of the great Musee des Beaux Arts of France, originally established just before the French Revolution. Many magnificent art pieces from antiquity to the modern day. Also houses the tombs of Dukes of Burgundy. The building itself is part of the palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.

The Dukes of Bourgondy took the belfrey clock of Kortrijk and placed it on the Notre Dame at Dijon in order for the 'Jaquemart' to strike each hour of the day. But it wouldnt be the only artifact that the Dukes would take from Flanders. As the power of the Dukes rose, so as well did the cultural richness as they ordered several most reknown artist of the time to excell on their artwork. Although the French revolution destroyed the church where the richness of the Dukes was ment to survive the ages, the tombs survived so we can still witness how Klaus Sluter sculpted the 'plearants' in order to grieve for the Duke and his whife. But there is much more to see than only the medieval art. Certaibly wirthwhile the visit.

What a great museum this is and it is free (in the summer). Absolute must see in Dijon.
Pascal Cools — Google review
Superb museum in a historical setting (palace of Burgundian dukes). What can be better? Well, it’s also free (permanent exhibition). The museum is not too big, so your mind can digest it and the collection is really stunning- starting from Middle Ages right to the XX centuries modernism. Amazing to see all those emotions portrayed by the artists- fear, hate, love, compassion. All this go through centuries of art. Sometimes you can feel yourself in the middle of the battle or a tragic mythological scene. I truly enjoyed this museum.
darius savolskis — Google review
Nice museum although the directions to follow for going around the museum were somewhat patchy.
Plenty of oil paintings on canvas, a good section on sculpture, covering especially on François Pompon.
The other very interesting parts were on the history of Burgundy and its four dukes.
Unless I missed it, I was surprised of not seeing anything about Gustave Effeil whom has we know built the Effeil Tower and was born and grew up in Dijon
Frederic Demay — Google review
Free entry but you need to go to the counter to get a little ticket before you cross into the galleries. I think it's just to find out where you come from for research purposes. The owl walk comes through here (see my other post) There's a small but nice green patch out the front if you need a rest.

Beautiful place with loads of art, a wide variety of it, and a bit of history! The Duke and Duchesses tombs are particularly impressive.

This museum is a must-see in Dijon with artwork from as early as the 14th century. It demonstrates the evolution of art from two to three-dimensional art employing more artistic technique & introducing light and depth.

Great museum with a lot of different exhibitions and displays, ranging from the history of the building itself to medieval up to 20C art as well as some contemporary exhibits at the very top floor of the museum. Free of charge to view the permanent collection but you have to pay to see the temporary exhibition.

Nice museum with a lot of pictures and sculptures. Especially the pictures of Árpád Szenes and his wife. Free entry.
Attila Szakács — Google review
The entrance is on the side of the large building that was once the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy. The collection spans a long period and is not so special. Sometimes you see an item that stands out but most of it you just pass.
What is impressive are the tombs of the Dukes of Burgundy which are best seen from a balcony above.
The museum is a maze of galleries with stairs and elevators everywhere. Navigation is a bit difficult
Entrance is free.
Seimen Burum — Google review
This is an excellent museum, which welcomes visitors and is set in an excellent location full of history in its own right. It is free to enter and being a non French speaker, unlike my wife, I found the English translation at the foot of most labels really helpful. The descriptions and explanations are written in a friendly and informative manner that make you eager to learn more.
My favourite discovery was about the 'mourners', a fascinating set of sculptures that accompany the tombs of Philip the bold and John the fearless. I was therefore excited to find miniatures of the mourners in the excellent gift shop, one of which now adorns my shelf at home. I can thoroughly recommend this as a must see venue.
David Tapper — Google review
Amazing museum in an amazing city. The museum is objectively small, only three floors, but what a chic and amazing exposition. I'm not talking about the fact that the entrance is free. This is absolutely and very important for all visitors, especially for those who go with the whole family and who want to join the works of art. And of course many thanks for this to the city. Where I was, I have not seen this anywhere else, it is unique, many thanks to the city for this ones more. Exposition from ancient times to the present day, very good logistics of rooms, very good arrangement of paintings, spacious halls - all this in general is conducive to a calm viewing of the collection.
100% recommendation!
Io Lo — Google review
Its free, has amazing architecture to look at and some outstanding art as well. Just for the ceilings in some rooms it is worth a visit though. Go to the top floor and onto the balcony of the dukes to look at the coffins.
The Owl of Dijon is a renowned tourist spot where visitors can explore the city and discover 22 different locations. The trail offers various attractions along the way, making it a unique experience that is highly recommended. To reach the famous owl, one must follow metal signs on the ground. According to legend, touching the stone owl while making a wish will grant it. This attraction is located near Notre-Dame Church's exterior and draws many tourists each year.
Excellent architecture, iron-work, sculptures and old buildings. This area of the picturesque Dijon is rich with local history, iconic buildings and some beautiful cobbled alleys leading through narrow walls between cathedrals, rectory and other substantial buildings. Wonderful examples of this period and worth the visit on foot.

The owl on the pillar is quite small and could be missed so look carefully. Nevertheless, signs with owls are located all along the old town which I thought was cute and a great marketing tool to promote tourism

The Owl Trail is an absolutely ingenious idea for travellers to navigate and learn about the city!! Learned so much and had fun along the way. Great for children and adults alike.
Renée Comeau — Google review
In fact, the idea with the Owl, and the tourist routes where you are accompanied by owl, is simply ingenious. this idea, of course, is also implemented in other cities. But in Dijon, which is a larger than other cities of the region where we were, this is a real help in order not to get lost and see the main sights of the city. Owl itself accompanied us almost everywhere where we were not in this city.

The Owl trail is a fantastic way to discover Dijon. In addition to the 22 places along the route, there are tons of attractions along the way that you can get lost in. We took almost 2.5 hours to see everything because we kept stopping and wandering.
Very unique and highly recommended. Worth the few euros it costs to get the official map or app.

Fun place to visit and try to grant your wishes by following the ritual of stroking the owl with your left hand. Love the history and the way the story has spread to other souvenirs in Dijon
Melanie Sharpe — Google review
It is indeed an owl, an overly hyped owl, faceless and about the size of the palm of my hand that is worthy of a lot of praise as it makes way for owles pretty much everywhere in this city, and that is pretty impressive in my book.
Long live the owels!

By the time that you get to the now "faceless" owl you will have seen some amazing architecture and sights of Dijon. It's a wonderfully easy way to start a walking tour and, it starts really near the SNCF train station in the park (see photo)

The Hôtel-Dieu Museum, also known as Hospices de Beaune, is a renowned attraction in Beaune. It was originally built in the Middle Ages as a hospital and later transformed into a museum. This flamboyant Medieval hospice showcases local art and furnishings from that era. The Gothic architecture adorned with vibrant glazed tile roofs adds to its magnificence. Additionally, the establishment owns prestigious vineyards whose wines are sold under Domaine Hospices de Beaune.
Historical landmark which served as the first ever hospital in the world. The place have a rich history and a nice audio guided tour. I would say this is this is the main attraction in Beaune.

Hôtel-Dieu Museum - Hospices de Beaune is an absolute must-visit! Taking the guided tour is highly recommended to fully immerse yourself in the rich history of this place. While many flock to the region for wine tasting at the numerous châteaux, don't overlook the incredible beauty and fascinating history here. The museum provides valuable insights into the evolution of medicine and leaves you pondering how far we've come, yet how little we've advanced in some aspects. It's an incredibly interesting and thought-provoking experience that shouldn't be missed.

Beaune is famous for wine and this impressive former hospital for the poor. The Burgundian roofs and architecture are beautiful to see and it is famous with tourists. This place is amazing. Bever thought that a private own hospital could be this cozy and welcoming, especially during the revolution days. The facilities are surprisingly well preseved and protected for the visitors to know about that period of time. If it wasn't that sunny, I would love to spend more time there just to listen to the bells from the tower.

The castle and surroundings are pretty nice, but the castle was closed the last day you could visit it, even though there was no mention except for the announcement on the castle gate. It's a little too late to find that out when you've already driven there. The castle will also be closed for a couple of months, so be sure to ask in advance if it's reopened.

Châteauneuf-en-Auxois Castle is a medieval castle located in the town of the same name, fifty kilometers from Dijon, in Burgundy. In Romanesque and Gothic style. To visit absolutely is a gem not to be missed here you can breathe the Middle Ages.

This place has an interesting history, great views of the countryside, curious architectural details (like the animal footprints in the floor tiles of one room), and the surrounding village is just as charming as it can be. Well worth the hike up the hillside.

Beautiful Chateau. Stunning location. Very well presented. English spoken. Surrounded by beautiful old village.
The Fontenay Abbey, established in 1118 by St. Bernard and considered to be the best-preserved of all Cistercian abbeys, still thrives today with its historic buildings and beautifully landscaped gardens. It is a testament to the ancient Christian faith that was once practiced within its walls for nearly 900 years.
What a great place to visit if you are around. It is beautiful and we could see the really take care of everything, during our visit it was possible to see some employees working around. We had a blast, definitely a must go in Burgundy!

I recently visited Fontenay Abbey and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The stunning architecture and beautiful gardens left me in awe. Serene place to sit and contemplate being a monk! The guided tour was only in French which was disappointing but the leaflet helped me understand the history of the abbey. The world's first hydraulic iron forge was interesting. Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history and architecture. Definitely deserving of 5 stars.

Beautiful. Visited in the off-season and my daughter and I were the only two visiting at the time. Very peaceful and one can have fun imagining the daily lives of monks here nearly 900 years ago! If you are in the Cote d'Or, definitely make it a stop. You will not be disappointed. Even trout for the young ones to spy.

Absolutely stunning! It really worth going inside and spend peaceful time in the area of large monastery where 200 monks have lived during its greatest times.
Partially preserved and largely rennovated monastery. Privately held by the relatives of Montgolfier family.
TIP: don’t miss replica of hydraulic forge from 12th century - first of its kind in Europe.
Vézelay Abbey is a remarkable Romanesque church situated on a striking hilltop in France. The basilica houses the relics of Mary Magdalene, making it an important pilgrimage destination in the 11th and 12th centuries. Its sculpted capitals and portals are awe-inspiring, attracting visitors from all over the world. This beautiful town also offers stunning views from the park behind the abbey, making it worth visiting for its natural beauty as well as its historical significance.

I rented a car from Dijon, parked it about an hour and a half before the winery, looked up the hill, and saw the church and nave. My heart fluttered as I realized that I had come to Sainte-Madeleine Church. Sainte-Madeleine, which has the meaning of repentance, is said to have become the starting point for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and was crowded with pilgrims. When you enter through the entrance on the right side of the main building, you will find the tamban carving, one of the finest works of Romanesque style.

First discovered this gem back in the 1990s and love visiting this entire area. My advice to anyone visiting here is not to just “drive by” and miss all that surrounds this “colline éternelle”. There are several charming boutiques, restauants & auberges along the road that climbs to the Basilique, not to mention great hotel-restaurants in the greater area… you are just minutes from the beautiful Valley du Cousin (D427 between Pontaubert and Avallon). This is a wonderful place to “get lost” in France. As for the Basilique? Eh bien, if you’re looking at this on Google Maps, you already know it is well worth the visit!

One of France's most impressive monuments. Try to visit it while a choir is singing, preferably Georgian chants, the acoustics of the place are amazing. And say hello to the bones of Marie Madeleine in the crypt, she's worth it ;-) Try to park your car at the Port Neuve if you want to shorten your walk up to the basilique.

An amazing church undergoing extensive renovation. You have the opportunity to see the renovation of the facade up close but only 18 people at a time are allowed to go up the scaffolding.
The crypt underneath the church had what looked to be a relic(possibly a bone) from Marie Madeleine.

The largest church in Auxerre
Yonne's Saint-Etienne-de-Auxerre Cathedral is located in the historic center of the city. The bishop's palace became a prefecture, thus forming an episcopal town.
Replacing a previous site of worship that had been looted or burned, the cathedral was rebuilt in the 9th century before being burned again. It grew in the 11th century in Romanesque style: Bishop Guillaume de Seingelei wanted to give the diocese a new cathedral in Gothic style, which was not completed until 1543, so only the ossuary remains.
Classified as a historic monument from the first listing in 1840, the building has carved facades that evoke Biblical episodes such as Genesis (north), St. John the Baptist (south) and the Last Judgment (centre). It is famous for its decoration.
Stained glass windows also form a unique ensemble. We observe the oldest ones at the level of the ambulation (12th and 13th), and those of the spouts at the time of the transepts were created in the 14th and 15th centuries. But it is especially the three 16th-century "roses" that evoke the litany of the Virgin and St. Stephen (south side of the pot) that are most prominent.
Inside, you'll find beautiful works of art such as the ``Stone of Saint-Étienne'' as well as the choir grid designed by Claude-Nicolas Ledoux, architect of the royal salt works of Arc-et-Sénin in the 18th century. Admire the representation of both enmantes, wood works of the 1550s representative of Burgundian painting, influenced by both Flemish art and Florentin painting. This work by Luca Peni is part of the cathedral's treasury, which has around 400 pieces.
Finally, the visit includes a visit to the ossuary, testimonies of Romanesque art from the 11th century, two murals depicting Christ on horseback (episodes of the Apocalypse are rarely depicted, making them unique pieces) and His Majesty's Includes Christ.
Open all year round, admission free. For the ossuary and treasury: open from Tuesday to Sunday during the low season from April to mid-October and Saturdays. Price: 3.50 and 5 euros. Information at +33 3 86 51 29 20.

Guédelon is a remarkable project where a team of workers is constructing a medieval-style castle using original techniques and materials from the 13th century. Located in the heart of an ancient sandstone quarry, this living museum offers visitors the opportunity to witness artisans such as stonemasons, carpenters, blacksmiths, and more at work. The site also features workshops where tools and materials for the castle's construction are crafted.
An astonishing project, craftsmen are building a medieval castle from scratch using traditional methods and tools. There is ample parking. The toilet facilities, like all on offer are well maintained and clean. Visitors can wander as they please through the complex, watching craftspeople at work. The castle is only part of the attraction, nearby in the woods are medieval workshops and buildings. We did not try the restaurants, apparently the food is good.
Julius Charrett-Dykes — Google review
This place is a living museum and it is great. The craftsmen here are reconstructing a medieval castle using the same tools, materials, and methods they used in the middle ages during the reign of Philippe II.
They have been working on it for years and years, and the castle will be completed in a few years (2025 was an estimate given by a mason working there)
Around the castle you will find all sorts of workshops where they are crafting the tools and materials needed to create the castle. You will find things like a smith, a carpenter, a quarry, a mortar maker, a stone worker, a dye and paint maker, a watermill, and many more things.
The people working there are all dressed in medieval clothes, and they are happy to explain the things they're working on and teach you the techniques. It is super interesting, but you will have a hard time talking to the craftsmen if you do not speak French. There are signs all over the place in both French and English, but the staff only speak French.
You will also find more modern facilities near the entrance, such as a restaurant and a souvenir shop, and they also have a decent number of bathrooms. The place is a great place to bring kids, and you can easily spend a full day there, but keep in mind though that the ground is very uneven and not great for strollers, prams, or wheel chairs.
The restaurant is very expensive, and the servings are tiny, so I really recommend that you bring your own food. There are plenty of picnic areas at the place and you are welcome to bring your own food and drink if you prefer to do that.

It's an experimental concept that started in 1997 to recreate a 13th century Medieval castle inspired by nearby Saint Fargeau castle. And it is planned to finish around 2030 with eventually an abbey and a village to be constructed near the castle too! There is a lot of historical information and some reproduction of medieval activities that you can attend to. It can be fun and very kid friendly! 😊

Very interesting site, even if you are not a builder. A Medieval castle being reconstructed using tools and materials of the period. Everything is done on site, including stone cutting, rope making, dies, wood beams, tiles, slakes, etc. A veritable treasure trove, my second visit and always informative and enjoyable.
Nigel McKinley — Google review
This provided better insight into medieval life than do visits to actual medieval sites. The chance to watch a log being hewn into a beam by a man with a primitive ax is worth most of the price of admission, and there's much more artisanry to observe. Apart from the workmen's footwear and a few safety measures, the only anachronism I spotted was a squash in the garden. The food wasn't bad, and the beer was excellent.

This is an amazing educational and fun place to see active experimental archeology in action.
How did 13th century people build the amazing castles and cathedrals of Europe? How did they shape the stones and lift them into place? You'll see them make baskets used to carry everything from mortar to herbs and soils used to make paint pigments.
Wear comfortable shoes appropriate for slogging around an active construction site. There are signs in French and English, and some workers speak English, but the site is in France. They do explain what, why, and how they do things mostly in French (it's their country). They will try to explain in English if you ask.
Gregory Schmidt — Google review
Amazing place to visit. It takes you back in time in the 13th century. It's great to see in the 21st century a medieval construction made without modern tools nor techniques. It is also very instructive place for the kids, the guides and workers are kind, friendly and answering all your questions. There is also a restaurant in place with kind personal and simple but good food and snacks.
Krisz Edith — Google review
This amazing place is being built since 1997 with the same techniques of the XIII century. No new machinery at all!
A great place for discovering skills almost lost with the industrial revolution. You can find blacksmiths, stone carvers, wood turning (all by hand), wood carving, pottery for tiles, bowls, and much more, a watermill for making flour, horses and much more!
A great place for the kids (and adults) to discover the medieval times and how they were making objects and a castle all by hand!
Great for a picnic, but if you find yourself willing to treat yourself there is also a restaurant. Try the veg burger is very good! (And I love meat! A lot!)

An amazing place through and through. A trip back in time in both its presentation and its construction. Seeing the different jobs at work in generally period accurate attire and with era correct methodology was just as amazing to view as the castle. Only gripe is that many of the signs are in french only, forcing you to translate with your phone. It still was worth it though, and if you speak french and enjoy the medieval period, I cannot recommend it enough.

Was interesting to see how an old village would have been set up, with a blacksmith, baker, herb garden, animals being raised etc. The work on the buildings is quite good and apparently sticking to old-school methods, but a big draw card was watching it actually being done, and this wasn't happening. Theŕe were a handful of volunteers in costum wandering around but you weren't likely to see them in action. Maybe we went on a slow "work" day.

Really enjoyed my trip to Provins with friends. The tower was a great historical experience. We got to go inside (I believe we purchased tickets) and it was very cool like going back in time. It was a bit narrow so be mindful of that.

Really great 360° views of the town from the top floors. We could see all the other monuments in their grandeur. There is enough information to understand what the place was used for but the tour can be done easily in 30 minutes. The stairs to the top floor especially as a bit steep and small (understandable as they must be the original stairs), so be prepared and careful for sure.
Try to buy the discount ticket that includes 5 monuments in the town to do them all.

Interesting remaining of the flourishing France history, while not having an extremely big visiting surface it seemed to me to be much bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside. It currently costs around 4.5 euros to get in, but do not miss the pass which costs 12 euros and if you want to visit the whole city and it's monuments or places of interest it is probably worth the price. One should not miss the city center close to the tower, this one is an incursion in the old and classic French architecture and one can be transported back in time to the times of medieval era even if just for a bit of time.

for 4euro30 you can enjoy a 12th century keep. Having done lots of castle tours in scotland and ireland, this was my first non-chateau in mainland europe and well worth the stop. The medieval town of Provin surrounds this keep and if you park outside the ramparts and walk in you get a real appreciation for the who impressive the keep is.

We visited Parc de Felines whilst on holiday, as our daughter loves cats - she was not disappointed, and neither were we! We saw so many beautiful animals, living in large enclosures with freedom to roam - we are very glad we got to experience seeing them all. It was a fascinating day. We also went to Monkey World, which was quieter and smaller, but ran out of time to see the parrots. The train ride and the 4D cinema at Parc de Felines are both well worth visiting. Park is well organised but the map given to visitors needs improving as it has a bunch of logos on it but no legend for those logos.
The train is quite good.
The tiger enclosure looks small and the tiger a bit sad. One of the smaller cats seemed a bit out of sorts and kept going around in circles. The lion enclosure is quite big which is nice to see but they are a big group.
The lemur enclosure was interesting. The guide told us there were about 7 lemurs that were excluded from the main group because they had been touched by visitors. You see in the enclosure the lemurs are friendly and walk around visitors to say hello and come right up close without barriers. One even jumped on a baby stroller so it is very easy to touch them. I was so stressed out the whole time someone would touch these curious lemurs and they would be pariahs. Why did the park not take this risk into account when designing the enclosure? You cannot trust all visitors to behave. There needs to be protection between visitors and the lemurs, like glass or a barrier.
The monkey enclosure was super cool I have to say. And I really enjoyed the talk.
We also went to the parrot park which is a 10 minute walk. It was quite nice.

I would definitely recommend this place for family trips.
There are a few food stands and one restaurant which have kid-friendly menu (sausages, hot dogs, waffles, ice cream, fries, etc). Of course there are toilets, which were quite messy when I visited this park.
Also, you can ride a train around the park every 30 minutes for free!
Another fun thing is the free 4D cinema, which is right next to the train station. The short movie was quite boring (for me, as an adult), but the kids liked it.
And of course, there are many felines. They are categorized by their original continents. And there are also lemurs :).
Overall, it was a pleasant visit.
PS: please!!! make more of mamul souvenirs! I love manuls, and I was quite disappointed about the lack of souvenirs with their faces.

A very good alternative to a day at Euro Disney for those who don't like rides, yet in easy reach should you be dropping off those who do. We were impressed at the scale of the Parc - lots to see, and no hurry to do so. Recommended to see the goats early (buy the bag of popcorn but keep it very high, and expect them to calm down only when the bag itself is empty and eaten!), then take the train ride to get a sense of the scale of the place, plus some of the cats are best seen from the train. Then go explore on foot, taking time to locate the cats where they are well camouflaged. If needed, there is a train stop at the farthest edge from where you can let the train take the strain on the way back. The ride back has an educational element and (spoiler) some sounds effects. Especially noteworthy are the very cute Lemurs and the pride of lions at the far end of the park, which can be very well seen from the impressive walkway and towers. For those whose French is not yet perfect, there are very good bilingual signs to help the English speakers understand the detail. A great day out. PS: There is a related park focussed on monkeys, a short walk away: see photo for price list for visiting just the cats or monkeys too.

The big cats have very spacious places to stay. As a result, they are sometimes difficult to spot, but that adds to the safari feeling ;) Take the time to see everything, for younger kids it can be a lot of walking. There is also a train that allows you to see many of the big cats. To see the little cats you have to take the walking route. Overall it took us about 4 to 5 hours to see everything.
All animals have shelters where they can hide well if they want to, for this purpose houses and night pens have often been built for the small cats where you as a visitor have a good view. In the middle of the day they use these places to rest.
The cats I've seen looked healthy and showed no signs of stress or boredom.
On the signs at the enclosures you will find fun and useful information about the animal species and also the names of the animals that live in that enclosure.
In the petting zoo you can feed the goats popcorn, and you can also feed the carp that swim around the lemur island with this.

Great park, we have been here twice. It’s a quite natural parc without a lot of artificial stuff. Animals seems very healthy and relaxed here. Be careful if you want to see everything, taking the train is not the best option, and walking will require at least 3 hours to see everything. It’s very tiring.
P Zhang — Google review
Great zoo with plenty of space for the animals, the train ride is helpful to see the extent of the park as it passes the large enclosures.
There is a 2 Park / 1 day ticket available with the adjacent primate Zoo, and a 2 day ticket can be purchased for a small fee. Well worth a visit, just make sure you bring a camera with a long lens! :-)

This is incredible place. Much od everything belongs to Napoleon 1st. You can see how his rooms was arranged, his familly tree, many of his personal stuff. Don’t miss jard which is also fantastic with mini lake in it.

Just amazing to say the least. The rooms and wood cravings on the walls are wonderful. There were lots of rooms to tour. We were getting tired after awhile. We got the audio guided tour, but it was hard for us to find the rooms we were in. It was probably just us. You might not have any problem. We were able to get a wheelchair for my wife. The admission for us was free. The audio guided tour was 6 Euros each. The grounds looked great from the windows, but the train that takes you around wasn't working today. Maybe it was because of it being raining day. It was worth going to, even with visiting Versailles the other day.

Remarkable place. The true pinnacle of French opulence. Really enjoyed the vast gardens and the chateau itself is well worth a visit if your in area. Steeped in history and beautiful architecture.

Very beautiful palace. Their audio guide is recommended. Very detailed! Not too crowded. There’s a parking nearby. It’s hard to find a street parking.
Your bag will be checked before entering. They provided lockers, and you can deposit your stuff.

A beautiful french chateau with amazing gardens. The best part is that you can picnic in the gardens. There is a small lake where you can ride a small boat 8€ for adults and 6€ for kids for 1 hour. The inside and outside of chateau is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. You will find a small cafe and a sandwich cart inside the chateau. We had a wonderful time here.

After Versailles and its charm, I believe this is a fantastic Chateau to visit. The hunting castle with its Impressive history about Louis XIV et Napoleon. It is the place where “Qui va à la chasse perd sa place” started.
Don’t miss les jardins. Beautiful place in a beautiful weather to spend some adorable time alone, in couples, with family and friends.

The gardens are mesmerizing, very well taken care of and the castle is a piece of art. I really recommend visiting this place.
I loved how at the end of the tour you can rent a boat and make a trip on the lake. I found this to be a very idyllic experiene where you can have a complete view of the castle. We brought a bottle of wine and a blanket and enjoyed a picnic as there is a locker room where you can leave your belongings with individual cells.

This may be a little biased as Napoleon is a very fascinating person to me, but I must say that this place was absolutely stunning. The building itself is huge and all of the rooms avaliable to the public seem to be in their original form. The gardens outside are stunning as well and I will have to come back some time to explore the rest.

Gorgeous grounds to wander and no wait on a weekday. Huge fish in the lake and many of them! Love the architecture, the grounds are peaceful and there is no walking on the grass.

Little Versailles some would say. This chateau is a great introduction to the French nobility lifestyle. Really nice castle with a big terrace and garden. Very close by the parking spots and accessible via the city entrances. Must see.

What an awesome historical location! This is Napoleon's home. There's a tour to see some of the rooms and many paintings. It's a great experience. Allow at least 3hrs to do the tour and enjoy the grounds.

Great little day trip close to Paris. Very romantic vibes for those looking for nice date ideas on the weekend :) the chateau itself is fascinating but recommend leaving enough time for a hike in the domaine / surrounding forest.

Lovely experience in a sunny day! It allows you to peak into early 19th century lives of kings and dictators and feel a bit of Napoleon’s sudden rise and fall. I strongly recommend strolling through the gardens.

Château de Fontainebleau - Palace of Fontainebleau ❤️ The King Napoleon have enjoyed his life. so much of stuff, battles and history. not far from Paris, to spend a day around the garden and the Palace 🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴 (The medieval castle and subsequent palace served as a residence for the French monarchs from Louis VII to Napoleon III. Francis I and Napoleon were the monarchs who had the most influence on the Palace as it stands today.) 🍀🍀🍀

We opted to go see the Chateau instead of Versailles due to time restraints and we are so glad we did. The Chateau is lesser known so there were no lines, no wait times, it was perfect because we were alone the majority of the time while we got to explore. The town of Fontainebleau is also super cute and fun to walk around.

Genuinely beloved home of French Royal Family over 700 years including Napoleon. You can still feel their existence. Beautiful and grotesque place. Highly recommended!

Although we didn’t purchase tickets to enter the castle, just exploring the garden was also very nice. Every photograph I captured in this place looks like those scenes from postcards.

I did not visit the castle, just strolled through the large gardens. Worth the trip. Also take advantage of the nearby large Fontainebleau forest with many walking rock bouldering trails. Try to avoid the rush hour traffic in and out of Paris.

We bought Paris Museum pass so Chateau admission is included. I highly highly recommend, even beyond Versailles, theres less people visiting and no lineups.

Make sure to buy your tickets in advance and i recommend the audio guide which was really structured, easy to use and insightful.
Better to go in the morning to have time to visit all the parts and the gardens.

An outstanding gem of a place - quiet, comparatively less crowded even on Weekends. Serene ponds with ducks and koi fish. In summers the place even had boating options. Overall a great family outing. Accessible by train and very well connected with minimal walking. Do plan your visit.

This is a place that I wanted to visit for a long time. It was up to my expectations as it shows proof of the french emperor who won a battle for my country during the french possessed my island. What a fantastic chateau to experience. The gorgeous rooms where King Louis III was born, the Marie Antoinette bed that she never got to sleep in, the amazing halls and chambers of over 800 years of France’s kings and queens who lived there. I enjoyed it much more than Versailles and easily spent in half a day. Unfortunately more than half of the buildings were closed and the Musée Chinoise was not open and the Golden Gate was under renovation.
Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a stunning 17th-century chateau surrounded by formal gardens, offering a remarkable blend of architecture and natural beauty. The interior is steeped in history, with well-preserved decor elements that transport visitors to the XVIII century. The audio guide provides an engaging tour, complementing the overall experience. A highlight is the impressive kitchen, adding to the chateau's allure. Visitors can also enjoy dining at the on-site restaurant and bar area.
Beautiful and well maintained chateau. The building architecture really amazing. This chateau inspired King Louis XIV built Versailles. Have been here very long time ago.

Impressive and important in history. A nice visit. Our daughter of 6 even enjoyed it. The food in the self service restaurant at the beginning is a recommendation!

Many people think this is the most beautiful chateau in France. There ia a parking just in the front gardens close at 7 pm but the last access to the chateau is at 4:45. We arrived at 4:30 and it was just for us nobody was there the parking was empty and only a small group of people in the castle. Highly recommended.

Very pretty, the gardens are exceptional, unfortunately it was very hot during my visit so I didn't have a chance to view all of them. The house has excellent architecture, I would love to visit again.

It was a great experience to be out in the French countryside and learn a bit of history without the massive crowds similar to Versailles. Taking a golf buggy around the grounds was a fun way to see everything and take pictures as quickly as you can. Food was very traditional French fare in the restaurant, which was an experience by itself (Andouille sausages, for example).
A must for anyone who wants to experience chateaus without being overwhelmed by the crowds.

Simply the most magical and magnificent historic moment in all of France... possibly all of Europe. Better than Versailles. Go go go see it. You won't be disappointed. It was an honor just to go. Plan to spend an entire day. Clean bathroom and great food as well. Cart rentals to see the grounds are available and worth the small fee.

Better than Versailles in my opinion. Gorgeous, very well cared for, the staff are pleasant, and the audio tour is a theatricality done history which is quite well executed. Also, way less crowded than Versailles and other places. A reasonably priced cafe and you could actually have a picnic. Highly recommend! I've spent a lot of time in France and it gets my top recommendation.

Beautiful house with a fascinating but sad history. A lot of passion went into planning this house and gardens. We spent an extra 5 euros to go up to the dome where we could look out. I recommend this if you are agile. The spiral staircase to the top is narrow. My mom is 85 and she did it, though. Spectacular views at the top.

How there are not more visitors at this chateau is completely beyond me, it is unquestionably superior to so many of the larger chateaus that receive more visitors. It is such a marvel of architecture and the way it compliments the gardens is perfection. The inside of the house is full of history with a good tour.
A walk to the Hercules statue is an absolute must and not too far. The view from the statue down over the chateau is incredible and really gives perspective.
The little kiosk outside does lovely crepes as well!

La Vallee Village is an upscale outdoor shopping center located outside Paris, accessible by train. It boasts over 100 luxury and premium brand outlet stores including popular brands such as Gucci, Coach, Lacoste, and D&G. The shopping center offers discounted prices compared to regular stores making it a go-to destination for shoppers looking for good deals. Although sometimes crowded, the mall is well-organized and very clean with a lovely layout that makes shopping enjoyable.
Top shopping centre. Fantastic bargains and combination of known brands and typical French stores. Great selection of food in the restaurant section however waiting times at McDonald’s were a bit too long, fortunately have a patient niece who was happy to wait for our food but witnessed a couple of families having nightmares. Suppose to be expected at busy times. Visited December 2023 on Boxing Day. Public transport to shopping centre was excellent, running on time and frequently at the very affordable price of €2.50. Although it was busy it didn’t feel overcrowded and customer service was good given the festive period.

A place to go to find outlet stores of different brands. It’s an hour away via train outside Paris. Very clean and well organized but sometimes too crowded. Most of my favorite brands like Gucci, Coach, Lacoste, D&G, and among others are here at a lower cost compared to regular stores.

Visiting this outlet is not worth, its quite far from paris, the train was not well organized it was super crowded , its few stations before Disney land , so the old train without air condition and no space to seat take one hour to reach there, all shops gonna close by 8pm. We didn’t find any good offer for the brands, there is no good restaurants around, its not worth to go there!

A dreamy haven for both the passionate shopper and the imaginative wanderer. From the moment you set foot, you're greeted with an assortment of luxury brands - think sumptuous fashion, exquisite jewelry, and top-tier cosmetics. There's an undeniable thrill in browsing through branded items, with each store inviting you in with the promise of an unparalleled find.
Yet, for those who've toured similar outlets across Europe, this one might not have the vastness you're accustomed to. Some brands even offer comparable deals in the city, which can be slightly disappointing for the keen bargain hunter. But where the outlet might falter in sheer variety, it compensates with atmosphere. Imagine intertwining your shopping spree with bursts of photography, capturing the whimsical design and layout, especially if you have kids in tow. Plus, with Disneyland's magic in close proximity, the entire location feels like an extension of the fantasy world.
To round off your shopping day, indulge in a delightful meal at one of the numerous eateries around. Whether you're yearning for a gourmet experience or a quick food truck bite, your palate will be pleased. A trip here is not just about shopping; it's an experience.

Lovely place to roam around, shop, or even just hang out. Gets really cold in the Ber months, bring hand warmers! Lots of seats and toilets. There are places to stop and eat which are not so expensive.
It rained when we came and it was bad since we didn't have umbrella and it's outdoors. Good that it stopped after a while. We stayed inside a store and shopped while waiting for the rain to stop. Staffs are friendly in most of the stores and all know at least enough English to serve you.
There are bigger, better deals and for more items when we went during December than there were during April, though still cheaper than SRP.
Plenty of parking. Watch out for thieves specially at the Val D'Europe mall. Many shopkeepers warned us and told us stories of phones getting grabbed and shopping bags missing.

Small lovely shopping outlet near Disneyland Paris. There is a good number of high street brand offering fairly good deals.
I did like the layout of the outlet.
There is also a big shopping mall just on the other side of street with plenty of shops, restaurants and hypermarket.

Val d'Europe "La Vallée Village" - in an idealized "briarde" architecture, this special shopping centre contains more than 120 brands in clothing and other luxury, including 15 of major brands. Most important, with lots of goods for sale at discount prices. Also a few known fast food and some rare famous delicacy places to actually taste some nice European types of food. It's nice to visit the various shops, don't forget most things are luxury or top fashion items so don't think it's just very cheap but some items might fit in your budget. Treat yourself with a nice snack or drink, it could even be just a visit to an exclusive fashion and design exposition.

Valle Village Mall is a shopper's paradise that promises a delightful retail experience in a charming setting.
From the moment you step into this inviting mall, you're greeted by an array of high-end and luxury brands that cater to various tastes and preferences. The village-like atmosphere adds a unique touch, making shopping feel like a leisurely stroll through a picturesque setting.
The diverse selection of shops is impressive, offering everything from fashion to accessories and more. The well-designed layout ensures that you can explore at your own pace, discovering hidden gems along the way.

Definitely a must-visit for those who love to shop! It was a massive consolidation of branded stores in the village, some say it’s over 100 Brands - with the likes of famous franchises like Gucci, Prada, YSL commanding virtual queues to crowd control..
Prices here were definitely lower than those in the retail stores within the city centre, evident by the long queues in each store 😊 you could hardly spot a person without any loots from their visit to the shopping village!

Stellar designer outlet mall and village, just outside of Paris city centre.
I initially intended to visit by public transport, but the rail strikes made that impossible. Costs oddly similar via cab, if pre-booked, so I would advise that if you intend to buy a lot or have a flight/train to catch afterwards.
Upon entrance, suitcases or big bags are tagged. The service is efficient so no long wait times. The staff in stores are warm and welcoming, and it’s easy to breeze in and out with a luggage in tow, without any concern. The village hosts around 40-50 stores, so its easy to cover each and every one in a day. There’s an adjoining mall at the end, but I didn’t get a chance to visit. I believe that hosts mid-range to high street stores.

Average. The factory outlet has like 120 brands for you to shop in which is supposedly enough but it wasn’t. I dont know why did they choose these brands instead of the others but they did not even have Nike and Adidas. The discounts were also average… none of it was like very eye catching or anything.
The factory outlet does have a good layout and it is also clean.
Maybe you can try to visit the place but do not come with high expectations of amazing discounts and that you can find all the brands you want.

Disneyland Paris is an entertainment hub that comprises of family-friendly rides, shows and costumed characters. The complex also includes hotels for a complete experience. Visitors can take advantage of weekday visits for photogenic opportunities while weekend visits offer more fun activities. Purchasing tickets in advance provides access to special offers, promotions and costumes for children and seniors. Easy transportation options are available through Google maps or other sources.
What a beautiful place to have fun.
If you go on a weekday, you will still be able to take a lot of good photos. If you go on weekends there will be more fun activities.
In terms of buying tickets, you should buy tickets in advance to enjoy special offers or promotions or dresses for children and the elderly.
Public transportation is also very convenient, you just need to search on Google map or ask anyone to go here very easily.

First of all this is a really great park, I visited twice and every time it is like a dream come true. Excellent decorations, extraordinary and fast rides, literally one of the best places on earth no joke. Anyone can find something in this park that will blow their mind and be their thing. Anything in there is possible.
Now the part that I am very unfortunate to write about, since my first visit there, something huge happened. They cancelled the fast-pass. To those who don't know it's a free way of "scheduling" yourself on a later hour so you can enter within 10 MAX. What they did instead is crazy (understandable because of financial reasons), you can pay 8€ per ride in order to get in quickly OR pay 1 7 0 € for a fast pass in multiple rides, that's wrong! So what? Now I can enjoy the park fully by paying almost twice the price of a ticket! Queues on a very normal weekday in September were between 40-70 minutes per ride, imagine wasting 4 hours just on standing! A not so financially stable family that would dream about coming here would waste a third of the day of a very expensive ticket on standing???
Well, I guess that is what helps Disneyland financially but that's devastating. I enjoyed it anyway and recommend you to visit and experience a one in a lifetime experience.

Fantastic experience, except restaurants and toilets are very bad and dirty. Parc is so clean, very impressive.
Lots of guests and queues, but opportunity to buy fast track will make you skip the lines.
Brings lots of snacks for the queues, if you have small kids.
You can bring your own lunch and soft drinks to save money, there are benches where you can enjoy your brought food. And believe me the food there isn’t good at all so bring something with you like grab and go.
Download the Disneyland app to have a map on your phone, where you can easily filter, whether you are looking for a toilet, a show or restaurant.
In the Disney app you can also see waiting times, so it isn’t necessary to download the waiting time app. I recommend that you do research in advance, so you have an idea of what you would like to see. For instance there was 90 min waiting for having a picture with a princess.
If you only have one day, I read that you should go for the Disneyland park. But I see why, they recommend that you use several days, as you spend a lot of time standing in lines.

7th trip to Disney Paris, and I still love it. ❤️ The park is so beautiful well maintained the staff work tirelessly to keep it so tidy. Our favourite time to visit is November with the Christmas decorations, but this January trip was dry clear and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The meal we had at the ratatouille restaurant was wonderful. I honestly can't find and fault. There was some rides down for maintenance but to be expected in the quiet season. We will be back!

Simply an amazing place. If you want to see a significant part of the park when you arrive, you should reserve at least 1 full day. If you want to participate in all activities, I recommend you get a priority pass. Otherwise, you'll be waiting too long in line. Be aware that you will be standing in line for at least 1 hour for popular activities. Pass priority tickets have separate entrances and you won't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes. Don't think it's a place for kids, there are more adults than kids and you will have a great experience.

Great couple of days at Disneyland Paris. You can easily do both parks over 2 days. I can recommend the Tower of Terror, Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, Ratatouille ride and Pirates of the Caribbean. If you suffer from motion sickness I would seriously avoid Star Wars hyperspace mountain, I have never felt so sick from a ride before! It is just too quick for the short sharp bursts and your head gets rattled round a bit between the shoulder pads. April was a good month to visit and didn’t have to wait long for the rides. The park was clean, plenty of places for food and drink but it is just the same food repeated in the different cafes. Merchandise is pricey so make sure you save up!! For the park tickets I used a website called Attraction Tickets who were cheapest, easy to order and got them to download to my phone within 10 minutes. Hotel - we stayed at Adagio Serris Val d Europe which is only a 15 min walk or free shuttle buses stop outside. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again and the surrounding area is brilliant and includes a shopping mall and designer outlet! There is direct transport from centre of Paris and then from park to airport. You couldn’t ask for more!

Mehhh….
For starters what I can say is, the lines were extremely disorganized when it came to entering the park. We purchased a one day ticket and boy I felt like it was their first day doing this. Anyway once inside it was beautiful and “magical.” The employees were not so polite and felt like they just wanted to do their job and go home.
The app was such a huge help and I also paid for a few rides premier access. (So completely worth skipping the lines to some rides.) The parades were very cool and I think that was my kids favorite thing at Disney. Be prepared to pick a spot at least an hour ahead to get a good view, as people start lining the street very early prior to the parades. If you forget your portable charging box (as I did) they have a charging room by the buzz light year ride. It’s actually inside of the location where the buzz light year restaurant is.
We brought a few snacks and drinks in our backpacks, but I also purchased several meals and desserts. I personally felt like the food wasn’t that expensive and was edible especially when you have been walking around the park all day. Amazing food, no, good food for hungry people, yes.
Overall I can cross this off my list and say we visited. Would I return again, absolutely not.

Despite it being very busy, I had such an amazing experience. Every cast member I interacted with was delightful. Everybody seems so happy to be there. We went on Monday and Tuesday (no holiday) and queues varied from 20-50 minutes, which was quite alright. Even if you're not doing rides, the park is great to walk around in. There's always something to see and you're really never bored.
I had some very bad interactions with guests, they can be quite inconsiderate and rude at times. But that is of course not the park's fault. Be prepared to encounter some selfish people though 😅
Prices were high, as was to be expected. But I must say that some things were strangely priced. I purchased a medium sized plush for €26 when there were minis retailing for €20, to give an example. The food was surprisingly good! Nothing to write home about, but I didn't expect this great quality.
I was very sad to return home and I'm already considering booking my next trip!

Went there a few Christmas’ ago but always forgot to post my review.
What can I say other than, I absolutely love this place. Everything is magical, everything is beautiful!
We took fast pass cards and slept at one of the hotels there, everything went perfectly and smoothly.
I came back a few times after that and everything still is as magical and amazing.

We had booked a 2-day ticket for both parks in advance, then spent a full day at Disneyland and a full day at Studios. Beautiful and quite exhausting. Good preparation is important - snacks, water, comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Plan your time wisely, it can gey very exhausting. Food and drinks are available in small snack bars or restaurants (don't forget to make reservations), prices for them are quite high.
There are a lot of stores with souvenirs, so plan a little extra money.
Queues at the rides can be very long, sometimes up to and over an hour. We occasionally bought the paid Premier Access to skip waiting time. A quick option can also be the Single Ride entrance, you don't sit next to your partner, but you don't have to wait in line as long.
After 9 p.m., the queues get much shorter. If you don't necessarily want to watch the fireworks every night (or are satisfied with back rows), it's the best option to wait in line only for a short time.
Make nice memories and have fun!

Disneyland Paris is a magical wonderland that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked through its iconic gates, I was transported to a world of enchantment and joy.
The attention to detail throughout the park is truly remarkable. Whether it's the dazzling Cinderella Castle or the whimsical Main Street, USA, every corner of Disneyland Paris is a visual feast. The park's cleanliness and well-maintained grounds add to the overall charm.
Now, let's talk about the attractions – they are nothing short of spectacular. From thrilling rides like Space Mountain to beloved classics like It's a Small World, there's something for everyone. The quality and creativity behind each experience are evident, and it's easy to see why Disneyland Paris is a top-tier theme park.
The staff at Disneyland Paris are the real magic-makers. They are friendly, helpful, and genuinely committed to creating memorable experiences. Whether you're interacting with characters, asking for directions, or dining at one of the park's restaurants, the staff's dedication shines through.
Disneyland Paris isn't just for kids; it's a place where people of all ages can relive their favorite Disney moments and create new memories. It's a world where dreams come true, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're considering a visit, prepare to be enchanted and amazed at Disneyland Paris – it's a journey you won't want to end!

The best place for family adventure! It is our second visit of this amazing park. In my opinion it is better to take your kids about 5 years, so you can fully ride on the best attractions in the park and get high emotions of being together with your kids. In the end of September it was really comfort weather, but so crowded. So for the future it is better to buy priority access at least on several attractions.
All staff work on a high level, they are really doing their job great!
Absolutely we'll be back in future!

This place is amazing! I really enjoyed it, although I'm an adult. It brings all my childhood memories back! One day is certainly not enough to discover the whole park! I recommend at least 2 days tickets, especially with smaller children. The queue could be very long at some attractions, but it worths every penny! The whole place is magical! 🥰😍

Brilliant trip! Two adults and two kids (3 yo & 6 yo). Prepare to wait an hour or more for popular rides. Characters don't walk around like they used to. They had session times they entered for photos. Mickey Mouse was 90 mins at one point.
Xmas is magical there and the parade is not to be missed. Just wrap up warm. Expect to burn a hole in your pocket.
Toad in the hole did fish and chips. Very good food for the price and pretty good service as well. Certainly need two days for one park - one day to queue for the rides and another go walk around it all.
Must do - it's a small world and Peter Pans flight.

Had an absolute blast with my Family.
Key rides were absolutely amazing, especially when you are travelling with an Autistic child... They really were very helpful and understanding. The only disappointment was the merchandise shops..
Gutted as I wanted to buy my daughter something special for her birthday, she wasn't thrilled either by the selection.
Walt Disney area was great and so was Disney Park... Not cheap but really enjoyed ourselves

After being in Tokyo and Orlando it was not not impressive. The Sleeping Beauty Castle was very nice and seemed refreshed much the park seemed in need of a bit of cleaning up and touch up. Overly crowded. No chance to get reservations for a sit down restaurant a week in advance and the lines were between 45-90 mins. Just not a value added experience. When we have to line up over an hour in advance for a show this is not worth the money. The village is way past it's prime and needs the construction that was ongoing badly. Recommend waiting at least a year before coming. Two day should be enough but the line delays were crazy. Positive note. Staff is always amazing and the night drone show and castle display were the highlight of the trip. Find your piece of asphalt early....

It's a beautiful park with a lot of attractions. A lot of attractions have a long waiting time. For kids under 3 years old not a lot to do or see, I think. If you want to save money bring food from home. The app is very nice to know where to go and how long to wait on the lines. We were there on a day during the week in March. The end of the day it was raining a lot. There are also stroller to rent. I recommend buy tickets before and if possible sleep there one night for the whole attractions to be worth complete.

Huge place. Impressive rides but lots and lots of people, even on an off day. So be Prepared to wait in lines and such. Can get some premium passes if you want to skip them. But the rides are amazing. The setup is spectacular!

First time I’ve been to a Disney theme park and I was thoroughly impressed. The park is kept meticulously clean and the build quality of the rides and theme park is the highest I’ve ever seen.
We paid for the VIP tour and our tour guide Virginie was amazing. She managed to cram in many rides and shows for us in the one day. She was also able to book a restaurant reservation for us despite it showing as fully booked on the website. I highly recommend the premier pass or vip tour because the lines are really long.
The park is crowded but manageable. Most of the park is suitable for young kids. They have a lot of family friendly rides. They don’t have as many rides for adults. The park is very stroller friendly with many ramps for use.

So far we've been to 3 different Disney Parks and this is our second favorite! The design of the park in some ways is way prettier than the park's in the U.S.
They have two options of pre-paid fast passes if you'd like.
It's pretty easy to get to from Paris.
Tips:
*Make sure to check out the Dragon under the castle 😉
*Food: If you didn't know - Disney parks are expensive! Yes, Even the food. a tiny pizza, salad, drink and ice cream cost 16€ The food in the park disappointed us. In the US, food is a big part of the Disney experience. I read online that they have Dole Whip, but they don't. We looked! We were very frustrated since no one warned us that even though the park closes at 11:00 p.m., the stores and kiosks with food and snacks close at 20:00-21:00!!!! We found ourselves looking for food. It was very upsetting.

Very nice place . Kids and adults will love it.
Very big waiting times for popular attraction 30-40 minutes so you need more than one day to visit Disney park . I recommend using the app to check waiting time before going to an attraction and also to find it faster . Lot’s of restaurants and shops so you will find everything you need .

Disneyland is a magical Place, it transmit excitement and happiness to both children and adults. You can visit it whenever, although I have to admit, it’s a bit better during the summer season when days are a bit sunnier and you can stay for longer (closing time 11 pm). There are a few queues, for both the entrance and the games. Just have patience and enjoy the cool scenes that are all over the park. Waiting time for games can go from 5 minutes to 1 hour, you can either check the app to see what games have the least waiting time, or you can get the pass that let’s you skip the line (the ticket is way more expensive). We only stayed for one day and I believe it’s enough to visit the park. There are lots restaurants and souvenirs shops. You can even buy a pop corn basket, which you can refill at the pop corn stands. Most of the games are very chill and for children, but there are a few that are fun and thrilling. If you are staying in Paris, there is a train from Gare the Lyon that takes you exactly at the entrance of the park. Overall I recommend at all ages. Children have fun and we adults enjoy the feeling of being children again, at least for one day :).

The rides were fun. The lines were long. I also saw purple guy there. I got a cowboy themed drink. It had ice cream. I liked the firework show the best, the crowd was so full though and I am tiny so I couldn’t see that well.

It was nice experience. Great place to visit.
Roller coasters are not crazy at all. Most of them are designed for younger customers. Liked the Hollywood Hotel lift.
Huge queues for the coasters.
Nice theatrical performances.
The food inside is super expensive.
The souvenir shop on any corner.
The train station is located literally on the park area. 9 minutes 1 stop from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The park itself is super friendly for families. It was nice to be in such the environment!
The night show was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!!

Amazing experience! The magic there is real! If you get a day pass for 2 parks you can visit Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio - you can enter after 45 minutes again as many times as you like during that day, from one park to another! Entrance to the shops and Disney Village is free - you have a middle area where you can shop at Disney Store even without having bought a ticket! I found that helpful!
The dancing parades they do are so lovely! Will definitely visit again! ❤️✨🧚🦄

We visited here on New years Eve. For a family experience, i would highly recommend it. However, it's not without its drawbacks.
Firstly, it is a hell of a lot of walking when here from open to close. There is a lot of standing for queues, so make sure to have comfy clothes and shoes on. It can be cold in winter months, so bring a coat that you can easily remove if you get too hit in a queue.
Make sure to prepare for paying a lot for food or sneak your own in. They do tell you no picnics allowed in side the park. But it is easy to stash sandwiches in.
People queue up for events hours early, so either be prepared to do the same or get a bad spot for them, i.e. parades, fireworks, and so on.
Rides are not adult centric, so there is not a big adrenaline boost from this park. The park is not for that, really it's for the kids. They will love the experience, and two of the coasters are great fun, thunderloop, and hyperspace.
Parking is easy enough, costs a pretty penny, though.
The fireworks show was fantastic, as was the new years ones too.
Have a great time if you do go!

Spent a day at The Happiest Place On Earth!
I visited on a Sunday, early April. The queues weren't crazy, plenty of rides we could get on within 10 minutes (pirates of the Caribbean, Cars, etc).
The Disneyland app is well worth downloading. Live updates for queue times, the map is very useful too.
Plenty of food options (including several local French cuisines).

Parc Walt Disney Studios is one of the two theme parks that make up Disneyland Paris, featuring areas dedicated to movie and TV related attractions. It may not be as large as the main park, however it offers rides more suitable for younger children such as the popular Cars ride. The Hollywood Tower and Ratatouille are considered to be two of the main attractions in this park, which boasts a beautiful setting and aims to create an atmosphere reminiscent of Walt Disney's production studios.
Not as big as the main park but I found this to be better for my 2 year old as the rides were more to his liking and he really enjoyed the Cars ride, he had to go on it countless times. Unfortunately the section where they did the stunt show wasn’t open which was a shame as my son would have loved that show but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

This is not my first amusement park and I have something to compare. If we consider that this park is 30 years old, then a lot can be done indulgence. Compared to Disney World in Orlando, this Disneyland in Paris is nowhere near.
There are a lot of old attractions, with old chairs, against which the head beats very hard during the attraction. I think that for children under 10-12 years old it can still be interesting. The attraction Flight to the Moon, converted into Star Wars, looks unconvincing and ridiculous. We visited 2 parks here. Here are the attractions that are definitely worth a visit: Hotel Hollywood, Ratatouille, Cars, Star Tour, Pirates, RC Racer, Riverboat, Parachute drop.
Convenient location, right next to the metro station. There are fountains with drinking water in the park.
Park security is good. We had a Swiss folding knife with us, which was not allowed at the entrance. We left it in the luggage room at the metro station.

Amazing park, they are currently constructing a lot so that does decrease the experience a little. I would suggest waiting for the construction to be finished.

It is not the main park but in my opinion it contains two of the main attractions of Disneyland Paris, the Hollywood Tower and the Ratatouille.

You can easily visit in the morning and in the afternoon go to the main park.

Very nice experience.
I suggest to buy the fast line pass. Because the lines and amount of people are huge. You can only enjoy 4 or 5 of the games because of the crouds. The least game to wait for without the pass is 60 minutes to 70 minutes. I regret not having the pass.

Great short weekend getaway!! A couple of things:
1. You must buy your tickets in advance
2. It’s not too big and not too small
3. Disneyland Paris has their own champagne and it is a must try for all adults!!!
4. Wear good walking shoes because you’ll be walking a ton!
5. The food and snacks are a must try treat
6. It’s mostly in French (for people that are curious) very little things have other language options

I'm a huge Disney fan and have been to both US parks multiple times, so it bothers me to not give 5 stars. The reason for withholding one is due to the size. It's a very small park and you can do everything in about a half day. Plans to add lands and expansions will help. What is there is really nice and the Avengers coaster is a lot of fun. It's a nice park, just not one you'll spend a while day at.

It was great to re-live my childhood while being here. What astonished me was attention to detail and absolute perfection in terms of atmosphere. Few rides broke down, which is understandable. I had only one problem with the park, and it's a big one: despite the astounding atmosphere, I was quickly and often disillusioned by cash-grab attempts at every turn. Official merchandise is ridiculously expensive to a point where I wouldn't even consider buying anything. Queues at every ride kept reminding me that this is the punishment for not paying an additional 200€ for Premier pass. I would have definitely left more money in the park if everything wasn't so ridiculously expensive.

I visited this park in November and in January.
I can say it's the worst disneypark. I wouldn't recommend you pay for it unless you get it by your stay in the hotel.
The attractions are not well mentioned, and you can do everything you like in the afternoon.
There are only 2 attractions that are worth to visit, these are ratatouille and the Hollywood tower. Spiderman can be fun, but I can't say it's something special. They avengers rollercoaster is not a piece of art, but it can be fun to do (for the coaster itself and the iron man inside).
I really did not like the crush coaster. It feels like the biggest self insult of disney. Their are like 2 themed areas inside the coaster. The rest of the coaster is half black and absolutely not disney quality but more that of a cheap park.
What about the Marvel extension? It's.. pretty underwhelming, all I can say.
That you can see some heroes is fun. Also, the Avengers rollercoaster looks fun at night.
The park feels like a full identity crisis. I also hope that this will be solved with future extensions.
But for now... the park is only worth visiting for the shows, ratatouille and hollywood tower.

LOVED. Definitely buy tickets in advance. I would also really recommend buying the rapid pass because I was waiting in line for so long. It is okay without it... Just make sure to have a charger with you. Also!! Bring a backpack. When you go on rides, you will have to put your belongings behind your legs so the bigger the better.
