(Translated by Google) Muesli, or the School and Book Museum for Children, is set up inside Palazzo Falletti di Barolo in the historic center of Turin. It's extremely interesting 👍
First of all, we need to make a premise:
those with mobility difficulties must keep in mind that the rooms dedicated to the history of the school are spread over four floors and are accessible only by taking the stairs (the historic building cannot be renovated and therefore there is no lift!).
The topics are distributed in two different and separate paths: the one called "school" and the one "book".
The first traces the scholastic world of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries between classrooms, games, books and teaching materials. In the final part, it offers pupils the opportunity to engage in educational activities designed to delve deeper into the themes addressed during the visit: this involves, for them, writing using the nib supplied with a straw to draw from the inkwell with ink, just like were the students mentioned in the famous book "Cuore" by Edmondo De Amicis.
The second route, set up on the ground floor and in the historic cellars, is comparable to an "enchanted journey" into the past with an eye towards the future. That is, alongside precious editions and original drawings from the period, there are also multimedia stations that modern students know and are now able to use well.
Furthermore, the nineteenth-century Tipografia Editrice Eredi Botta, a historical presence in Palazzo Barolo, has been reconstructed in a special underground environment.
To conclude, applause goes to the guide Giorgia for the excellent presentation of the school topics and for the positive involvement of the visiting students.
