Alright, I don't tend to review many things, but this place in particular I feel merits a review. I'll preface this by saying "I hope to God there was just a mix up or they were having an off day" - because it's entirely possible. I don't otherwise know how a pizza place with this food normally could survive in Buffalo of all places.
The pizza itself, it was... It wasn't "inedible", but I wholeheartedly believe a frozen pizza would have been better. It had a weird smell, almost like cattle grain. The flavor was not good, it tasted 'off'. I'm wondering if maybe the dough went bad? I'm not particularly picky about pizza and I've never been to a pizza place in the area that I would actually say the pizza is "not good", so this was surprising to me. They did use good/proper pepperoni so that was nice though.
The wings were the real shame. I don't know if maybe they got the order wrong / misheard, but... I've never seen a worse medium wing outside of Buffalo, let alone in the home of the Buffalo Wing. Typically, you'd expect the scale to go None (bare wing), Mild (mostly butter, very faint hot sauce, not spicy at all but a bit of flavor), Medium (some spice to the sauce, but not unbearable), and Hot (nearly straight hot sauce, very spicy). Well, the medium was literally dry and without flavor. No sauce in the foil at the bottom, either. I had to verify with my partner (who will not eat most place's Mild wings because "they're too spicy") if they actually added sauce. They said they have a hint of spice, they think. They ate half of the batch with no issue, that's how un-flavored these were. The garlic parm were somewhat skimped on flavoring too, but not nearly to the extent of the medium.
The one thing I will say is, the staff all seemed very friendly and attentive when we came for pickup and I do not think in any way that they meant to make things badly. We like to try new pizza places in the city and there are often gift certificates sold at a slight discount by local restaurants, that we buy and use for various places. As we came from about 50 minutes away we did not / weren't looking to ask them to fix it. However, I do feel that if we were close enough for this to be reasonable, they mostly likely would have fixed it.
All in all, it would not be something we would do again, even with the "half price" gift certificates. While we appreciate their efforts, it simply was very unenjoyable.
