Firstly, Capri is very expensive in every way!! A special taxi needs to be booked by the host to carry your luggage if you have large bags! The taxi trip from Capri port to the BnB costs 35euros each way.
Once you get off the cab, u have a 10 mins walk on a narrow, roughish path to reach the entrance of the place. Then many steps down to reach your rooms.
Host Luciana was very welcoming and explained the sightseeing options in Capri very well. She has also arranged the taxi for us immediately on calling her.
Unfortunately the Jaccuzi in our room was pretty much a waste because we kept getting cold water and when the problem was attended to, it was still not hot enough for an enjoyable jacuzzi experience. A LOT of water had to be wasted before it was hot enough to fill the tub and the water temperature was temperamental; there was hot water only at a particular angle and if u fiddled with it even a little bit, there was cold water instantly.
At night, despite confirming with the owner that the heaters had been turned on in the rooms, it had not been started. So, when we returned to the room at night, we were absolutely freezing in the room and the floor was cold. We started the room heater but it took extremely, extremely long to make the room even tolerably cold.
The radiators took even longer to start up.
We were tired and sleepy and the cold made it a very, very, uncomfortable experience. When we got up early in the morning, the radiators were cold once again.
The dinner restaurant suggested by them which is just 2-3 mins from the BnB was an unhappy experience!
There was almost no choice available, and since the hostess/owner spoke no English whatsoever, we could not communicate our preferences anyway.
Also very expensive and took an hour to come to the table!!
The Breakfast was fairly basic, just bread and toast, a slice of cake, satchets of butter, jam, cheese and some slices of fresh fruit, coffee (which did not smell like coffee at all) and a cereal !
The place is scenic and very nice and clean.
Host is good but weighing all the Pros and Cons, I would definitely recommend some place more accessible.
Definitely a No-No for people with climbing problems or knee issues!!
There is a bus stop down from the other side, after a 10 minute climb down from the place.
Also an issue for people with leg problems.
We had Baggage which we could not leave with the baggage storage at the port (storage opens earliest by 9 am, we had an early ferry out of Capri), it worked out very expensive and very tiring with all the carrying of our bags!!
All in all, a mixed experience for us! While the island was great, the stay was pretty much a poor experience for us!!
May not be so for everyone!!
