(Translated by Google) Opladen Beer Exchange, once advertised with over 1000 types of beer, is now only a shadow of its former self. Since 2019, it feels like it has shrunk by half. The entire Wupperweg to Schusterinsel is no longer served. There are no relevant types of beer, snack stands and small stages.
Certainly some things simply fell apart as a result of Corona, but somehow you get the feeling that this event is no longer wanted by the city government. Beer Exchange has always not been cheap, but I find the prices to have remained fairly stable in recent years. (Sure, there is a price adjustment.)
It's a shame that the big tent is no longer there and obviously no more Monday evenings with Guildo Horn either. Somehow everything is listless and without creativity and someone from outside has to come in... because of environmental protection and stuff like that. If that's the reason for suddenly no longer hosting the route after over 30 years, then I'm sorry. What about tradition and constants in life!?
...More lugworms and freshly baked pretzels, baked potatoes and garlic bread! Old and monastery beers... And where is the organ grinder anyway? 😉 Big tent and guildo.
You can happily do without cocktail stands - because that's also called a beer exchange...
I've been visiting the beer exchange in Opladen for about 28 years in all weathers - in 2019 I would have given it 5 out of 5 stars.
If you come for the first time, you might see 5 stars... But compared to before, only 3 stars.
On that note: get well soon!

In diesem Sinne: gute Besserung!
