Honestly, a few spectacular parts included the revolving restaurant, which made it such that we could see different parts of Sydney both in daylight and in night, which was phenomenal. Tables and chairs were nicely decorated in general, and toilets were clean. The general ambience and idea is a once in a lifetime experience.
Some dishes were great! Loved the simple yet delicious nuggets and Asian egg rice! Pork Belly was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING too, I kept going back for more.
A few things to work on! Asian section was a little disappointing, as someone from Asia, certain countries like the Vietnamese, Korean and Indian cuisine were limited, which kind of made it sad. If the chefs were able to expand it, that would be awesome.
Desserts didn’t have ice cream, which adds a level of customization to your dessert that most people would like. And the major changing factor was the seafood and sushi, there wasn’t any sashimi and seafood was limited to the oysters! Crayfish ran out very fast, the crab wasn’t very tasty either.
Drinks only had ONE complimentary drink, which was kind of sad, maybe if the alcoholic drinks only had one, that would make sense. But the non-alcoholic drinks were also limited, which made the buffet a little disappointing. One way to do this is probably to have a drink dispenser, to reduce the workload needed for the staff and they can focus on taking care of guests.
I would have been okay with these limitations if the price wasn’t that high, I have been to buffets with half the price but twice the food standard.
Secondly is the service. We were seated at a corner and the staff didn’t see our table and clear our dishes. We had to clear it ourselves and take our own water. Personally I was okay with that provided the price point of the buffet drops. Maybe it is also possible to allocate a dedicated staff to each section of the restaurant with regular checks, to give a better experience to other guests.
If these things were to be done, I would definitely come back again as I think it is a good experience but I wanted to be objective to help the restaurant get more business. However, with things as it is now, it would be hard to convince myself and my friends to come back again.
Overall, I think a good experience for tourists to come and see the Sydney Skyline, absolutely beautiful! For locals, if your focus is the food, this may not be the ideal place.
