What a lovely restaurant with a friendly staff and incredible food. This is a must go if you bring family from abroad.
Ideal for: Everyone willing to experience a great British food set menu.
Key Info: The options available are limited but the food was fantastic, we were surprised, I have to give my congratulations to the chef and our waitress was very good serving us.
Pros:
- Concise menu.
- 5 stars service.
- Amazing taste.
- A very British pub.
- Free car park available.
- Well decorated.
- Ultra clean toilets and facilities.
Cons:
- Short availability for the beers menu.
Service was good and attentive.
General vibe was good especially with regards to the plenty of options for outdoor seating.
Free parking spots were available in the lot by the pub.
And here’s where the positives stop.
Food was below average.
We had the beef and the pork Sunday roasts and the dishes were dry and rather not tasty. The meat quality was poor and the dishes felt heavy. Chunky Potatoes were over- fried and dry too.
Overall, we were unimpressed by the food.
We popped into the Greene Oak on our way back to Windsor. The food was excellent, as was the service, very polite and aimable. Starters; the roasted beetroot and the mackerel, main: fish and chips (big portions) and roast chicken which was succulent. I indulged in a vanilla cheesecake which was divine..it came in a double layered cup.For a Monday lunch time there were several people there. The garden looks lovely so I can't wait to try it out again in Summer, although I may go back earlier. Also I like the fact that the discretionary service charge was not included automatically .We did tip though. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely pub.
