Very good experience. My husband and son enjoyed they ride on zip line. Me and my daughter waited in cafe. It has good choice of food and drinks and is very spacious. They are screens here where you can watch people getting ready for their ride. Only think was table weren't clean.

This adrenaline place is a fantastic thrill seekers adventure. I did the Zip wire and it was well worth it. Great views from the top and a fast ride to the bottom. The staff are excellent in what they do and very professional. Test your nerve and give it a go 👍🚀😎

Wow! What an adrenaline rush! What a zip-line! It is a fantastic and exhilarating experience set in an amazing location. One word sums it up... Wow! This really gets your blood pumping as you speed over the edge and out over the old Quarry, reaching speeds of over 100 mph! I'm looking forward to going again! Thoroughly recommend.

OMG....A MUST for any adrenaline junkie like me and my partner! We paid £130 each, and this included a video at the end. We went on the not so high up zip wire first, which I thought was amazing, then we got on the red bus, which takes you to the top of the quarry.... it was incredibly windy, and we thought it would get cancelled, but nope.... the staff are amazing friendly and put you at ease. Absolutely fantastic! You can get a drink and something to eat before or after at the bar and watch others come down the zip wires. Or watch in the distance the go carts coming down FAST around the quarry. A brilliant day out and Absolutely well worth it! You have to be UNDER 20 STONE. They do weigh you ( with clothes on! Ha ) and supply you with all the gear you need. You can video yourself getting geared up but NOT COMING DOWN THE ZIP WIRE.

Absolutely incredible experience! Titan 2 is without doubt the best zip line in the world. The views as you fly through the air are second to none and the staff are so helpful, supportive and professional. The harnesses are cross checked, the fixtures to the line are cross checked, you just feel super safe. I loved it so so much!

Wonderful time. Very impressed with staff focus on safety. Very professional and instilled a level of safety before riding the fastest zipline in the world !! The closest I'll come to a wing suit experience. Also highly recommend the aquarium Karts, and make sure you do the second ride down the mountain. A fantastic time. 100%

Fantastic experience. The place is so well organised and the facilities are new and modern. Staff is so professional and they are very friendly. We did Velocity 2 and What an experience! It feels very safe, you have a bit of a try in an smaller zip line a d the guide you step by step in the process. Totally worth it.

Friendly, utterly professional visitor experience. Did the Velocity2 and felt completely taken care of and reassured. Friendly staff and all were very attentive. Safety paramount with double checks on harness, helmet and especially when actually rigged up in the contraption. Food excellent (beetroot wrap and falafel burger) A very enjoyable day out.

Great place for adults, teenagers and children. There's a smaller zip wire, a rollercoaster style zip wire, go karts and a couple of lying down zip wires - the latter of the 2 need to be used with an adult. My 2 16 year olds had a great time. The restaurant had a good choice of food and drinks including alcohol.

Great day! Really enjoyed the carting and smaller roller coaster type zip thing. Food was good for fast food, nice and fresh. The girl on main reception was miserable but the staff upstairs in the bar were great.

A fantastic experience! Even for observers and non participants there is plenty to do. The whole Velocity 2 experience takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours from start to finish, and you are well looked after by very confident and competent people. For those not participating, the viewing platform on the top floor gives you stunning views of the quarry and a great opportunity for photos of your loved ones and friends as they speed by overhead. The video footage option on offer is a great gimmick, and is emailed across almost immediately as a very smartly put together video available to view and download.

What an experience! I would recommend everyone to give this experience a go. The staff are very friendly and highly trained. Safety is key and the staff take that very seriously to make sure you enjoy yourself 100%. If takes around 2hrs for from safety briefing to completing both zip lines.

Incredible day out. The velocity zip line was an amazing experience however it was the kindness of the staff that really stood out. Every member of staff was polite and knowledgeable which made the experience much more memorable! The food at the café was also delicious.

We had a fantastic time, it was raining hard but we still had loads of fun. We took 12 of us which we thought would be three x4 goes but they only ran in two’s rather than four people at a time. The youngest was a nine year old who loved it and the eldest were two seventy year olds. I’d recommend taking waterproof clothing and something for the children to do while they wait for the big kids to have fun. The food was ok, not amazing but it filled us all up.

Enjoyable, people working there very friendly. Good mix of people in my time slot, aged mid 20s to 70s. Mini zip was good, truck ride was very bumper, as they warned you it would be. Suggest you don't sit at the back like me! Zip was good, not as scary as I imagined. Real disappointment was paying for video. Not sure if it was angled correctly, as can only see my nose and eyebrows. No view, no face movement.

Fantastic day out and all round great experience! The weather was terrible, but it didn't make a dent in our day. Staff are friendly and love to lighten the mood. Very attentive to those who are nervous or are considering waving the white flag...not me!! Just hit the spot for my dose of adrenaline. Would highly recommend both the velocity zip line and the ariel adventure.

Amazing birthday gift. From start to finish the staff were amazing, i would personally like to thank John the driver who was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our trip better i.e letting us ride in the front of the trucks with him, giving us local advice about wales and taking lots of photos for us. Zip world also let us reschedule our booking to the next day due to bad weather with no issues. which Is amazing. Quarry karts and velocity ☆☆☆☆☆ Would definitely recommend. :)

Fantastic experience, as a family we did Velocity 2 which included a smaller zip line, just as much fun as it's big brother!! (Be aware of the braking system on this one, it can be quite sharp on your back). After the first ride it's up to the top in an old army truck,bumpy but fun, with the tension building as you climb (approx 15mins). The safety checks and staff who carritthem.out were first class, everything gets checked twice and by different instructors, you will be in good, professional and caring staff (Thanks Kate and Tom). I’d like to start by saying that Velocity was incredible and I would 100% recommend giving it a go! The 3 stars is for the organisation and chaos on the day. We had the aero explorer booked for 1:40 and Velocity for 3:40. We arrived just before 12 as we thought we’d grab a spot of lunch beforehand. We started receiving numerous texts (rather than any announcement) to say that there was a weight limit now for aero explorer due to adverse winds, then another text to say Velocity was delayed by 20 minutes, then another to say aero explorer was cancelled for the day (still no refund of this 1 week on). Then we were told that Velocity was delayed by 2 hours and they had to cancel all trips between 12-2 (ours was unaffected) so we went for a drive and to find a fast charger for my EV which is not easy in Wales! Phoned them whilst charging to ask if it was still a delay and what time we should arrive, were told there was still an hour delay, however they then went to check this and we got told there was no delay, get here as soon as you can (we were an hour away at that point thanks to their earlier advice). When we arrived, it was all good, no queues, staff were friendly and we got up relatively quickly and all had a good time. We all paid for videos, however my daughters video somehow only starting recording after the zip wire, which was pretty pointless. Annoyingly we didn’t realise this until we got home that evening. I fully appreciate that weather can cause disruptions but it was utter chaos and kind of ruined the day, despite Velocity being immense.

Great morning out! Brought our sister for her 30th and took her on velocity, absolutely amazing experience! Staff were all friendly and answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend it!

Was only able to get tickets for the kart rides down the quarry, definitely worth it!! I seen the zip lines they had there, two different lengths, both looked amazing!! Staff was friendly and professional and I felt at ease that they knew what they were doing.

WOW, if you want to visit a stunning castle in North Wales then this is a must. Glorious views, the castle itself is outstanding. The walled garden is beautiful. There is a train museum which is small but amazing. The castle inside is very ornate, with incredibly carved walls, ceilings and furniture. The black staircase is outstanding. One place to put on your bucket list.

Penrhyn Castle & Garden Bangor, Wales This was an incredible castle that is fully furnished as it was last lived in around the early 1950s. The level of opulence is really amazing. Reminded me of a mansion in New Port, Rhode Island. I really liked that you can explore the castle at your own pace although there is a set route to follow. Every single room is impressive. There's so much detail to notice in every single room. The family wealth came from owning the slate mines that North Wales is famous for. Since trains were needed to haul the workers and the stone, there is a really cool train museum built into the castle towards the end of the tour. I wasn't expecting that but they had some rare locomotives in perfect condition. The gardens of course are also great to check out. Highly recommended.

A fully furnished and well maintained 'historical family' residence, including servants and kitchen area to explore. Lots of interesting historical information, with guides to help and architectural features and many gargoyles to spot. Lovely gardens and landscape. A nice cafe area too.

UNWELCOMING AND RUDE STAFF, BARE BONES INSIDE BUT STUNNING VIEWS. The castle was absolutely beautiful and great to walk around, though some rooms felt very bare or just too staged. The gardens and walk around the castle was also absolutely stunning, though still just two/three hours worth of the place isn’t worth £15 per person. My main complaint however is with the staff - both the grounds staff and national trust staff at the welcome centre were pushy and rude. Me and my husband have no car, and therefore walked the 3/4 mile road to the welcome centre - as we did, a lady on a buggy stopped us and accused us of trespassing as we weren’t trust members. It was unwelcoming and accusatory, as all we were trying to do is walk to the castle to pay for our tickets. She accused us of trespassing on the properly and not paying, as „it’s very expensive to upkeep and people not paying can ruin it”, as if we weren’t clearly on the path toward the welcome centre. She then drove off after pretending to help direct us, then as we got to the welcome centre I asked the women there what the lady meant by trespassing, they told us that she had nothing to do with their charity and she was just a grounds keeper. They talked to us for like 10 minutes just about signing up to the trust even though we explained to her we just wanted our tickets. My husband is Polish and has a slight accent, and when he tried to ask for our tickets she badgered him with questions about where he was from and if he was on holiday, and it took me answering for him in my English accent for her to stop asking questions and blankly staring at him when he would answer. Insanely pushy and simply stare at you when you’re just trying to enjoy yourself in the castle, badgering you to join the tour even when you say you’d just like to walk around. Not a single person asked for our tickets, honestly if I go again I’ll simply just walk in because it was a waste of £30, on top of the extortionate prices in the cafe and gift shop.

Visited in September 2019 during my holiday in Wales. Earlier that day I walked up to Aber falls, and because I still had time after, I headed to this castle, because they are close to each other. It is very imposing from further and closer, too, especially with the ivy on the walls which became reddish close to autumn. It had a little railway museum in the courtyard, before I headed to the entrance of the castle. The view is fantastic as well as the interior. There are quite a few rooms to visit and the whole corridor, staircase, hall, everything is just so spacious and rich that I just wandered around with surprise and I couldn't take enough pictures. The dome is an architectural masterpiece, and those so many tiny details carved in are amazing. There are toilets and cafe in the basement, also at the railway museum, and then we can have a walk in the lovely garden. As far as I've seen seniors can go up by car to the castle, otherwise the visitor centre is a bit further down. It is a wonderful and impressive place to visit and I dare to say a must to see in Wales. National Trust site, so members go free. From the main road an arched stone gate leads to the estate - I missed it 2 times, so I thought better to warn others.

An absolutely wonderful castle/stately home. A beautiful place that has stood the test of time and is in impeccable condition throughout. Set in lovely grounds with a little buggy to take and fetch you if you have any walking difficulties. The area also contains an old railway museum which is also a must to see. The place is in the ownership of the national trust. So all staff are lovely, friendly and knowledgeable in all areas. A must to visit.

First time visit here. The castle when you are walking up to it is very majestic set among the tree and shrub line. It made for some lovely photos. Inside was smaller than I expected compared to others I’ve been too around the country. But there was enough to see as far as decor and history. We got there an hour before closing, so I guess the staff were winding down as there was hardly no one around to answer questions. I was a little disappointed that you weren’t allowed to venture further into some corridors, and the information boards set about didn’t really go in depth about the history of the castle. It was a very light touch. But interesting nonetheless. We didn’t venture to the garden walk, it was a wet day, so veered off to see the steam engines that were housed in the castle grounds. Quite interesting to see the history about the quarry and the locomotives that were used back in the day. All in all, a lovely place to visit. I personally don’t think it warrants a second visit as it’s so small compared to other places I have visited. But recommended most definitely if you’re passing or visiting the area.

What a fantastic hidden gem Penrhyn Castle was ! We arrived around lunchtime and the castle was busy but not overwhelming. We were able to park without hassle. We spent around 3 to 4 hours and left at closing time but you could easily spend a day there. The train museum is great for kids as they get a chance to climb on the engines. The castle itself is large and well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely visit again!

Such a fantastic place to visit, even more so if it’s raining as most things are undercover. This has to be one of the more luxurious national trust properties, the public carpeted walkways had thick pile, everything was exceptionally cleaner than normal and the rooms were dressed beautifully. We were lucky enough to be given permission to play the piano too 🥰

Beautiful National Trust property. Pleasant staff. Very good Easter egg trail. Absolutely stunning interior decor. Railway way museum is alright there are much better out there. The star of the show is most definitely the castle. This was my second visit a good ten years apart I thought that there might be more of the castle open now. Such a shame one of the towers isn't open to take in the incredible vistas.

The most unique industrial castle we have ever seen. Massive beautifully decorated rooms with a lot of interesting history and many nice people that can explain it to you. The train expo is great as it brings you closer to the period of quarries and mining in Wales. A lot of space to walk, have a picnic or just sunbathe, a nice cafe and shop. What a great experience. Don't miss out.

Very interesting castle to visit, wonderful internal decoration especially stone and wood carving and plaster work. Though built by slave owner and industrialist family which does raise uncomfortable questions. A party house for Victorian nobility. Beautiful restoration of many areas.

Fancy castle, not what could be excepted when you see the outside. It’s still furnished, with great taste. There also is a small railway museum, the Victorian kitchens and a walled garden. One of the best thing to visit in North Wales (especially if you are a NT member).

This is one stunning (fake) castle built with money drawn from sugar plantations and slate mines. The place is huge as are the interior rooms and the stone carving is incredible. The estate outside is also beautiful with wonderful long views across the estuary and to the mountains. There's a great walled garden and some lovely walks through the trees. The cafe serves standard NT fare but really you don't come here for the food. Instead prepare to be wowed by the sheer amount of money spent creating this estate.

At just over 200 years old, this is a relatively new castle designed and rebuilt by its owners to impress visitors and display their wealth. The opulence of the interior, the abundant intricate masonry work, and the monolithic scale of the decor is overwhelming. It's mind-boggling to think how many great trees were felled in its making, probably one for each of the huge three inch thick interior doors alone. The grounds also boast several separate garden areas and plenty of paths around the estate to enjoy the scenery. If you want to be able to go somewhere where you gasp in wonder when entering nearly every room, then visit Penrhyn Castle.

Brilliant castle. Rooms are awe-inspiring and beautifully restored. You get a real sense of the decadence and wealth of the place as it must have once been. The National Trustees and their team of volunteers do a great job of making you welcome and putting on a great Christmas event with crafts and a huge Christmas tree with messages of gratitude hung on its boughs. This is the second year we've visited it. The board games in the cafe are a real highlight.

What a stunning castle, the best I've been to by far and I've visited many. Would be incredible if more of the upper rooms and a turret could be accessed for views out over the estate to sea. The grounds are also absolutely beautiful and in particular the walled garden. If you need something for the family to do in a rainy day then look no further. This is a gem of a place and we will look forward to returning the next time we are holding in the area.

Wonderful castle, and beautiful garden. The bog garden leaves much to be desired... but the walled gardens are beautiful. The castle is wonderful, and has great views of the bay. Nice walk on the way up, and there is a shuttle if you want to take it. Just a lovely place to go round and explore. Staff were very knowledgeable.

It is a great place to visit when you're a trust member as it is costs effective for visiting lots of the trust run places, but if you're choosing to pay the full admission price it can tally up a fair bit! There's plenty of blue badge parking near the visitors centre but there is also a small disabled parking area for those that need to use it near the castle. The car park itself seemed to offer ample free parking. There are toilet/ accessible toilets at the visitors centre as well as within the castle grounds. The accessible entrance to the castle is through the cafe/shop that is signposted in the court yard, we had a lovely staff member walk us through as the ropes had to be unclipped and she took us to start where the main entrance would come in so as not to miss anything. The whole of the ground floor is accessible to anyone with mobility issues in a wheelchair or other walking aids. There are places for people to sit and rest a while dotted about. If you want to see the information about the upper floor, there is a video available to sit and watch. The cafe staff were friendly and helpful, we just had a coffee but it was a decent one. The grounds have plenty of walks. There's a circular walk that is flat and has lots of benches at small intervals. We thought we would try the walled Gardens. It's very sloped, and we realised that it was going to take a bit of whelly getting back up with the wheelchair. The gardens were lovely, if not a little disappointing, that we could only access the top area and just overlook the lower sections! It would have been nice to wander around and enjoy the gardens more. After a strenuous return from the walled gardens, we enjoyed the picnic bench area in the sunshine where we had our packed lunch and a much needed rest. There was much more to explore here after our day out, and we will happily return another day as we really enjoyed the tranquillity of the grounds and accessibility of the castle and facilities. Dogs are welcome on leads.

Great place to visit, enough options on menus at both cafés. Plenty of options in the gift shops. Do encourage if you were to visit the site multiple times, to purchase a membership, as admission is a little bit pricey, but won't be a problem with a membership. Parking was sufficient on arrival on a Sunday morning week before Easter, unsure of summer.

This is really quite a remarkable and unique huge stately home very well preserved inside, including a huge Victorian kitchen, servants quarters etc - and it's built in the style of a castle. Absolutely go and see it - you won't regret it. Unique architecture and craftsmanship in the very lavish interior. The setting, grounds and views are something else too. Please note not all of it is currently open to the public, see below but even what you can see takes a long time to walk around and is well worth the admission fee. Needs more volunteers and funding to keep more rooms open to the public, so going to see it would help that too. It was a big highlight on our trip to north Wales. Pics speak for themselves.

Very impressive castle, with lovely gardens and a pleasure to veiw both inside and outside. It's a must to see the kitchen, it's definitely a far cry from the luxury of today and to imagine working in that while putting together fine meals for the Lord and his many guests, must have been a work of art. There's even an interesting little rail museum, that's also well worth a look. Mostly Victorian fancy furnishings on the inside of the castle that is all beautifully kept and still looking very nice indeed. Sad to think that the wealth to build this fine family home came from slave's working on the families plantations in Jamaica and then after the abolition of slavery, money from the family owned Welsh slate quarries helped to keep it going. Unfortunately there was no working classes back in those days, just poor and rich.... Lovely castle, well worth a visit.

Absolutely fabulous NT property. The castle is interesting to view. The railway museum is fabulous as you can get in some of the trains/carriages. The grounds are absolutely stunning, full of ancient oak trees, a beautiful garden and lovely hideaway by the brook. There's a lovely park, hidden away in the woods. The only tiny thing that let it down was a terrible dog owner who didn't clear up after their dog.

Came here on a wet and very windy December day. Had a very warm welcome and was offered a buggy ride up to the castle. We walked up, which only took a few minutes. It was only the downstairs that was open, but that was all really well decorated for Christmas for Christmas. There were still loads to see and well worth a visit.

Wow!! What an amazing place to visit. Beautiful architecture and the most wonderful history. So much to see and so much to learn. Staff very welcoming and very knowledgable. Especially John in reception and a huge shout out to Phil in the main building. What Phil didn’t know wasn’t worth knowing! His enthusiasm and passion for imparting the historical information was second to none. He also set us a little task and gave us priceless nuggets of information about the historical occupants of this fine castle. Phil even answered our questions as he left for home, using more of his time to ensure we had a memorable experience. Throughly recommend that you visit this amazing place. Very well maintained castle,great if your into history,you can even tour inside the castle where it is still fully furnished , see how they lived back then,there is also a small railway museum within the castle,good value for money,book online and avoid extra added costs like gift aid which now costs you money to gift aid

Very enjoyable visit whilst on holiday in the area. Interesting history of the castle & it's owners, nice grounds & stunning views.

Easy to moderate walk to the lake and around, not for people with mobility problems. Stunning scenery,beautiful landscape. Snow topped mountains and beautiful waterfalls. One thing was that a number of people walked their dogs off the lead, which was a shame to see as there are signs telling dog owners to keep dogs on a lead.

I loved this walk! I parked up at 7 am on a weekday to avoid the crowds and glad I did. I got this stunning walk to myself. As I was coming back down people were finally coming up. The car park at the bottom was full when I came back down. The walk itself was stunning, and we even sat down to enjoy breakfast. One of my favourite places now.

Such a stunning location! Really enjoyed walking the path round the lake, taking photographs and treasuring the beautiful scenery.

A superb child and dog friendly circular walk. It gives a feeling of being high in the mountains and and the lake is stunning. You need to visit this if travelling to the area. Please remember to wear decent shoes and we passed 2 people with sprained ankles who wore crocs and flip flops. The lake is ideal in a hot day and it’s a popular swimming location. The cafe at the carpark serves hot and cold drinks, and their are toilets and seating areas.

Well equipped visitors centre to learn more about the area. Did the 4.5km circular which was absolutely spectacular. Take jackets against the wind but it was an easy and beautiful hike.

Beautiful hike which is perfect for beginners, not too steep and pretty easy going for the most part. Can be a bit slippery but other than that great! I had no trouble and really enjoyed it, and I never hike! The views are amazing and worth every second!!

The view to the lake is just stunning. There are few hiking routes with a view to the lake as one is ascending. Some of the routes are quite difficult, especially the one through the devils kitchen where these images are taken from.

Snowy day a little chilly. Parked at the visitor centre car park £3 Quite lucky because cats where Parked everywhere and no spaces. Lot of people about, all ages. Some dog walkers. Variety of level, some people had ropes, crampons and ice axes, had obviously been higher up the slopes and rock faces on more challenging routes. We just did a circular route around the lake, In parts a little slippery and some deep snow here and the off the beaten path. Great scenery, great atmosphere. This place is top notch any time of year. Check the weather and wear rhe right gear.

This glacial lake is just a short walk from the main road (3/4 miles) but you could be in the wilderness surrounded by towering mountains and jagged peaks. Easy to forget the stresses of modern life when you visit this place. There is a short walk around the lake if you chose the path is up and down a little but not too hard to complete. Well worth a visit if you are in North Wales.

I saw someone's comment on here describing it as 'get into the mountains without climbing the mountains' and it couldn't be more right. Super easy walk and fantastic views. It was stunning on the foggy morning I went, I can't imagine how beautiful it must be on a sunny day ❤️ Will definitely be returning!

Lovely National Trust walk. Took a couple of hours and not too strenuous. Great way to spend the morning. Gets quite windy at some points. Uphill for a bit at the start but you won’t be too tired after this, the rest is mostly flat. Beautiful walk around the lake once you get to the top 😊

Overall Experience - definitely should visit once in your lifetime. View is breathtaking. Highly encouraged to wear more clothing as it gets windy and quite cold. Always recommend to wear hiking boots as the trails are rocky. Took us 3 hrs to complete the lake. Around 4.5 km. 1. Affordability - car park is £3 for 3 hrs or £6 per day. 2. Atmosphere - clean and windy.

Amazing lake, worth getting there, we did suffer as we walked in hot weather, but was worth it. Definitely need appropriate foot wear, some parts of the path are wet. Was really nice to relax there for a bit, got very busy by about 12pm

Walked the lower path round the lake. Stunning place to just forget about work etc and get away from it for a few hours. Pathways are looked after as well. The view down the valley is amazing and a good spot to sit down and chill out. Car park gets full very quick price wise its reasonable.

Final place for my trekking that good for could do some flat path walking. The lake(beach？) was pretty and having good view of many mountain in this range. Pretty good and enjoyable

Never ever been inside this cathedral before, but I was taken back at the sheer size of it inside!! a very elegant interior with excellent acoustics. We held a Christmas concert (Rhos Male Voice Choir) 16th December 21 in aid of the emergency services and the acoustics were amazing, the interior was also amazing given the time of year (Christmas) Tree and decorations etc, ideal venue to hold a choral concert/Brass/Silver Band etc

This small but beautiful cathedral traces it's roots to as far back as AD 525, which made it only the second cathedral in Britain at the time. Nothing of the original buildings remains however. Nor does anything of the subsequent Norman structure constructed in the 12th Century. The current structure we see today was constructed between 1480 and 1532. Older tombs were moved into the building we see today it is worth noting. Inside the little cathedral is quite a beautiful place. Everything is spotlessly maintained and polished and preserved and well lit. It is even heated in parts. I was fortunate to visit when the cathedral was empty and explore it at will. There are too many ornate points of interest to mention within the building and photographically it is a dream. The dark, carved Mostyn Christ that dates back to the late 1400's is something that really caught my eye on the wall to the right just before the main exit. The church is free to enter but there is a little donations table that takes bank cards. This did not intrude upon the spirituality of the place for me. I did not see evidence of a little shop within the cathedral when I was there thankfully. I don't know if this has been permanently closed?. There are nearby paying car parks and a small disabled only car park close the cathedral itself. There is a disabled lift at the main exit. Opening and closing times change daily, so it is important to know these before visiting. There were no guides present on my visit, but I have heard these can be present at busier times. A beautiful place that is well worth a visit in my opinion.

Very nice cathedral in the centre of Bangor. I didnt go inside but spent a while wandering around the outside taking photos. This is a beautiful yet modest place and worth seeking out. Nice views of the University buildings in the backgound. If visiting by train I recomment a cicular walk going up Holyhead Road, Turning right down College Road just after the chapel and head for the main University Buildings above the City. Walk down the hill to the City itself where you will find the Cathedral and wander back to the station via High Street.

I had a fantastic experience in this cathedral because it was the first time that I went to an english ceremory at the church and I felt included, thank you for welcoming me in this special ceremony. The cathedral is very pretty inside too. I will definitly come back 😊😊

Gorgeous little cathedral, typical of Welsh cathedrals really. Two lovely paintings in the style of Caravaggio on display.

Amazing atmosphere and very kind people. There is coffee, tea and wine after every Sunday service. Share lunch events every few months after service and mince pies during Christmas season.

Because St Deiniol was consecrated bishop in 546, Bangor claims to be the oldest diocese in Britain, fifty years before St Augustine arrived in Kent from Rome. But there's the rub - he wasn't consecrated by the Pope or a representative thereof. St Deiniol was of the Celtic church. Regardless, the site of the cathedral is plainly ancient, but the present structure is largely late-medieval. The guides inside were very friendly, even if they seemed apologetic that their cathedral lacked size or cachet. I would certainly say it is larger than a large parish church and there is certainly much of interest and beauty within. I was certainly taken by a couple of paintings done by a local painter called John Gregory using contemporary figures in the style of Caravaggio. I was an hour in the cathedral. My only complaint is that there's no guidebook in English to allow me to learn more about it.

Not a big grand, tourist exploiting spot, but a little gem nonetheless. Some unusual and interesting religious art, ancient and modern, to see, with leaflets to inform visitors about historical aspects. Also a cute thing for kids to do is to find the wee carved mice dotted around the church. I believe they get a little knitted mouse if they find them all. Note; not the ancient plushie rat in my photographs... he's mine XD

Beautiful interior , a breathtaking choir and some very interesting art on the walls.

Free to get in but they would like a donation however small to help to upkeep the cathedral. Beautiful architecture and stained glass windows. There is a small shop to buy souvenirs.

I went to university here to study Business and Computer Information Systems. Bangor Uni is a great place with great lecturers and lots of support from everybody to integrate into the community, to take part in activities and there is always something excited going on. The Student Union is doing an amazing job with the societies and clubs that are free to join, everybody is friendly and inclusive and apart from the usual Welsh weather, Bangor is gorgeous. I couldn't be happier and more satisfied for having chosen Bangor as my university and the place to learn and grow!

I had a great time studying there. Professor's help in anyway they could to students. The school itself fantastic and the view around is scenic. Though I mostly walked around due to the bad transportation system, it was a way to see the beautiful surroundings.

With a semester done, Bangor University has been a breath of fresh air among all the others I have checked out for my Masters. I am doing my MA in Business and Marketing and Bangor Business School has all the facilities to equip us with whatever we needed, knowledge and experience with real life examples. The Library is a big help with abundance of resources. With Bangor being a quiet place, you tend to rely on people and the University has the most exciting societies to pass time with. The student accommodations are excellent and is a great place to build connections with people all around the world. Looking forward to my next semester!

The Bangor University is one of the oldest that prestigious degree awarded institutions in the United Kingdom.

Amazing place to learn, You become different and your mind activated to analyse things from an intelligent perspective. The environment as well is mind-blowing.

Nice location and the room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was great and there was plenty of it but it took 40 mins to arrive.

Beautiful place to visit and learn. many students all around the world gather here to study and have a good experience, its a fun place with friendly people.

Lovely university. i will still give them four stars as other people enjoyed we had issues that were to do with problems outside university control and the staff weren't good with it all. They are very good at sorting problems with accommodation etc. which is nice to know. but saying that the staffing and the lectures were nice to go to and hear stories it was nice to meet all those brilliant people it’s a good university and teras cafe is good and bar uno and the student events are even better although they do close in the off season when exams are on having the bar open then would help with exams as people need study and leisure at the same time. It’s a good university a fun place to learn and it’s worth it good luck future students! but dont go with a MH condition they will exclude you and the odds are they don't like you then.

I attended the 15 peaks in 3 days group hikes in April 2024. I had the best time and would highly recommend. The guides where all really good and knowledgeable and there was enough of them that when the group needed to separate due to bad weather and some people not wanting to continue, the rest of us could carry on with the other guides. They put safety first and adapted the hikes to the weather. I felt totally in safe hands. They also have trainees on the hikes with the experienced guides, which I thought was really good and beneficial both for the trainees but also for the group as it was another knowledgeable person to talk too. I'll definitely be back to do more trips with them.

I had the pleasure of joining the team to complete 6 days of mountain leader training in wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 The course was extremely well managed from signing up, getting joining instructions and then the face to face delivery. The content/syllabus of the course is a set standard I believe but the knowledge and experience of the team exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be booking more course and days out with Snowdonia walking and climbing. Thanks to Rusty and the team.

Absolute amazing day, patience of a saint, kept a nice pace and clear instruction at all times. Strong winds meant a change of plan but it honestly did not disappoint! Couldn’t have asked for a better or more professional guide, If he didn’t like my company he hid it well 😂 If all you’ve been doing is thinking about booking just do it, worth every penny for the assurance of being with someone who knows exactly what they are doing!

I really felt in capable hands with Rusty and his team. I did my Mountain Leader training with him after 20 years of hiking and running in the hills. I had a good week, learnt lots, and enjoyed myself. The base Is an excellent location for that and was great for hanging out with fellow trainees and learning from them too. I definitely recommend Rusty and Co!

Lead me as part of a group across Crib Goch to the summit of Snowdon. Absolutely fantastic hike and with Rustys guidance felt very safe and at ease despite the sheer drops! Will no doubt join more hikes with Rusty and would recommend

Awesome, amazing, brilliant, fantastic are just a few words that can describe how good these guys are. If you're thinking of doing a guided walk in North Wales, this is the company you want to choose. The 4 guides, Rusty, Dewi, Dan and Iwona met us at our camp at the foot of Tryfan and successfully guided the whole group to the summit. There was a wide range of experience within our group and the guides were able to cater for us all. Some taking a challenging/exposed route up and some taking a less challenging route and everyone loved every minute of it. The pace was perfect, we had plenty of snack/water breaks, we saw the local goats and got plenty of awesome photo opportunities. I cannot recommend these enough and just want to say thank you again for such an awesome experience.

Rusty once again delivered an exceptional day for the family of climbing, abseiling and little scramble. He has a natural knack to adjust the day according to skill, age and ability. This is our second year as a family for a day with Rusty with our two girls now 10 & 7. He upped the ante when he knew the girls were keen as mustard to go higher and they absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend him for an adventurous action packed day for any age. Thank you Rusty 🧗

I recently repent two weekends with Rusty from Snowdonia Walking and Climbing on a Mountain Leaders course. What an amazing experience it was, from the simple but clean bunkhouse to learning and improving navigation skills, leading a group and really understanding how important minor detail in the terrain is. Rusty is patient, knowledgeable and was a pleasure to spend time with. The way he explains concepts and how he questions you really gets you thinking and I learned a vast amount in the 6 days we spent with him. The walks were brilliant, with one in particular enforcing the need for mountain skills and group management in the wet weather. This was one of the best experiences I have had to-date and really got me excited to go and practice what I learned for a future assessment. Thanks Rusty!

Well I just want to say a massive thank you to Rusty for an amazing day from both my husband and myself and our two young girls (9 and 6). We had a lovely warm welcome from Rusty and discussed a plan for the day. He got us kitted up with climbing shoes, hats, harnesses and we were ready to go. He took up first on a great little walk to wait for the weather to dry out a bit. Just 2k up and around some slate mines and told the girls lots of great facts about the men mining all those years ago. Next we were off to do rock climbing and abseiling. He explained everything so well to our girls as it was their first time doing that sort of climbing. Rusty could see what our abilities were like and tailored the day to challenge us and make it fun. Our girls had the best day and have now completing fallen in love with rock climbing. We all had such a great day. I can highly recommend him. Top work Rusty 🧗🤘

What a great week!! A fantastic well laid out Mountain Leader course with excellent instructors and the perfect ratio of practice and theory. Rusty and Nick are the best - approachable and thoroughly knowledgable.

I had an amazing experience with Rusty, Dewi and team for the April Welsh 3,000 in 3 days attempt. They are an extremely professionally and very friendly team. I wasn’t comfortable with the nav to do it alone and their local knowledge, in the at times 30m visibility, was valuable. Looking forward to July for the 24 hr challenge! Cheers all.
