It's quite a big waterfall. Right next to the road, but you have to get out of the car to see it or you will easily miss it. I saw it in March end and it had adequate water level.

Amazingly stunning falls, just besides the road, you can't miss it. There is parking and you can relax a bit before starting your 50km climb towards Munnar. There are some eatables and tea stalls available at this point. Relax before a twisting and winding climb on the ghats.

Cheeyappara waterfalls is located on roadside. It's just amazing. You can visit this waterfalls onthe way to Munnar. If you visit in the perfect monsoon season you can really feel the nature and enjoy. We can take some amazing photos of nature and ourselves. You can't go near to the water as there will fencing for safety reasons. But you can feel that atmosphere. Opposite to the waterfalls there will be an fantastic view and fog. It feels so amazing. You can also have some food there. There will be street vendors selling the food items like sweetcorn, pineapple and etc..

An amazing waterfall near near Adimaly. Even in summer season also there will water. One of the main tourist attraction which you can see simply from roadside. Morning is the best time to visit this place. There is some paid toilets is available near to this place that is really helpful for travellers. This is a normal bus route, you can see the waterfall even from the bus also. Please be careful while going this place, since most of the people are watching this from the main road itself, there is some chance to get accidents. Limited parking is available there near roadside. There is no entrance fee and all in this place.

One of the favorite pit stops on the way to Munnar. The waterfall is amazing as there are several decks for the water to fall from the heights. It is commendable that recently the tourism department has provided a toilet facility for the visitors. Even bus passengers can enjoy the falls as there is a KSTRC stop.

This waterfall is located on Cochin - Munnar highway and approx. 40km before Munnar. We visited during December and as expected the water levels were not that heavy but surely you will enjoy time by getting your selfies clicked and also enjoying yummy and tatay road side food sold by vendors. This place will get crowded during holiday seasons and when during high water flow. People are not allowed to play near waterfalls due to saftey reasons. You can spend time for approx. 15-30 mns depending on your interest.

Awesome, very tall waterfall. There is a guy with a camera who takes photos and basically prints them to you for Rs 50 per photo. The digital version is not available. There is a street shop that sells items that are put inn vinegar, warning that there are monkeys there , so be cautious while handling phone bags cameras, etc

This waterfalls appear in the way to munnar from kochi. Due to summer water is not as much as need to. But you see the people over there also.

If you are ever visiting Idukki, then this one is a must visit place. It's a network of 2 dams, Cheruthoni Dam and Idukki Arch Dam. The Arch Dam situated between the two mountains is a site to behold. The height of both the dams will amuse everyone. One can get a nice scenic view from top of both the dams. There is a small tunnel at the end of the Arch Dam. There is a also cave in between which you don't wanna miss NOTE:- The entry to the dam is restricted at times so before your visit do make sure it's open. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited when visiting dam, either leave them in your car or else clock room is available

The best dam i have ever seen in my life. Nature beauty is beyond words. You can sip hot tea while looking at huge water reservoir and mountains. Simply superb.

It was really a good experience to visit the idukki dam.. Great place to visit with your family and friends... there are 2 dams, Cheruthoni and idukki dam... when i visited, there was not that crowd... but sometimes we can expect some crowd... one of the famous dams in kerala, highly recommended to all....

I recently had the opportunity to visit Idukki Dam, and I was very impressed with its size and scale. The dam is truly a marvel of engineering, and it is a testament to the ingenuity and skill of the people who built it. The view from the top of the dam is breathtaking. You can see for miles in every direction, and the surrounding mountains and valleys are simply stunning. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Kerala.

You are not allowed to carry your mobile phone or a DSLR here so you have to leave it in your car outside the dam entrance. There is a shuttle service from Cheruthoni dam to the Arch dam every hour and costs around 100 per head. You can get a better view of the arch from the Hill View park located nearby.

First of, no phones or any electronic items are allowed into the dam area (there's a counter at the entrance to store the items). The entry fee is at 40rs per person (24-05-23).The dam is only open on the weekends. One can start from the Idukki Arch Dam and walk till the Cheruthoni Dam. But since the walk till the Cheruthoni Dam is long if there are people that can't walk long distances, it is advisable to take the cart service provided. It costs around 600rs for 6-7 persons. It is said that you can see the ground used in the movie "Maheshinte Prathikaram" from on the way to the dam(not exactly from the dam, on the way to the dam, after getting the tickets). There is also a boating service in the dam, but for that you'll have to go to another spot close by. The boating is fun and safe. Boating costs 150rs per person. We went from the dam to the boating site by an auto and it cost us 200rs. Just ask anyone for the bus timing and how to get there, people will guide you. The boating tickets needs to be taken from another place by the main road and not at the place of boating, so keep that in mind. The boating is till 04:30 pm only, but if the weather is bad they might close it early too.

When we visited on October 2023, this dam was closed for entry. Then we took boat ride to see. But it would be magnificent to see from top. Better to check before visiting. But boat ride was very pleasant and enjoyed a lot.

An Engineering marvel. The only Arch Dam in Kerala. No Photography near Dam. No Entry to Public except in season.

Great place come around with family and friends. Had a great wonderful time to spend here . There are also many nearby places that can be visited in idukki . I had visited during when the dam shutter was opened due to heavy rain . Many people had arrived to visualize the situation. It was a wonderful experience to visualize it.

A must visit place in Idukki. Photography is not allowed inside . *Security staff will not allow any electronic devices including mobile phones. *Buggy car service available from Idukki dam to cheruthoni dam and is extra payable. *The climate is good .

A very beautiful dam ... You can go for boating(speed boats,pedal boats,etc ) .... If you're lucky, you can spot elephants... Although it takes a hour long ride from munnar it's worth visiting... The road way is very nice and many beautiful view points are there...

Great place to relax. Dangers lurk, so be safe. Due to the descent of the elephant, the entry is only till 6 pm. Also please don't pollute this scenic beauty.

The dam has no vibe. But the road to this dam is awesome. Both sides has tea estates. There is a boating center in this dam which is 1 kilometer before dam entrance. Its names as Elephant Abode Boating Center. There is a checkpost near the dam, we aren’t allowed to take our car further from there. Road to the dam is horrible and narrow.

The dam is maintained by KSEB. Entry is free, parking is available but no restroom facility.

It was a scenic beauty...there is also a boating facility nearby..ticket charge is Rs.10 for bike parking and entry fee is about Rs.40..but its worth it..an ideal place for a family visit and especially kids would enjoy it.They have a park too for children..ambient parking facility..overall it was a wonderful experience..the water was so clear and u would definitely enjoy it

I went here in September and believe you me the views were so good with fog. I would suggest kayaking in this place as there are no other places that would beat the view you get from here.

The Meeshapulimala trek spans 8 kilometers, offering an accessible route suitable for beginners, with a moderate level of difficulty. As the second-highest peak in the Western Ghats, Meeshapulimala stands at an altitude of 8661 feet above sea level. Positioned approximately 20 kilometers from Munnar, the trek's starting point is the KFDC base camp in Munnar. Trekkers may be treated to breathtaking sunrise views if they are lucky.

This is the best tracking and best experience that I had. 8km walk in 8 hills. 8th hill is called meesapulimala. I got a chance to enjoy snow there. This was one of my bucket list items. The colour, snows and beauty of nature will wonder u. My advice is to visit the place in season so that you will get beautiful views. Take the camera .. beautiful senories are there. A must try item in your life.

Beauty of Munnar at its best can be enjoyed from Meeshapulimala. It's the second highest peak in South India. Treck to Meeshapulimala of one of a lifetime experience. We booked the stay through KFDC website. it's a one night stay trip with an early morning treck of 7km. Once you reach the top, the view from there can't be expressed in words. Best time to visit is December.

A glimpse of heaven on earth. Jeep safaris are available to go here and you can witness an amazing view, a sunrise or a sunset.

An amazing trek... Difficulty - moderately difficult Risk - low to medium risky Around 21 kms Average time 8 hours Reached Munnar at around 2 pm. After completing the verification at the Forest Office, we were taken to the Meesapulimala base camp via a half an hour long jeep ride through the beautiful tea estates and a sip of off roading. At the base camp, we were welcomed with black tea and biscuits. After filling out our details, we were assigned our tents. Got freshened up and clicked some pictures. The campfire started at around 7:30 pm followed by a dinner with vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes. At night the temperature was around 9 degree Celsius. The bathrooms were neat, there is no provision for hot water. Look out for occasional leaches in the water. We were given sleeping bags and retired for the night. The view of the night sky is just indescribable... Crystal clear. The tents are neat and safe with zippers all along. We enrolled for the day trek, so after a breakfast consisting of puttu and curry and bread and jam, we started our trek with packed lunch for the afternoon. There is provision to keep your luggages safe at the base camp, so carry minimum things in your trek bagpack. Items for the trek bagpack: 1.Water bottles (1 litre, there are streams and a pitstop at Rhodo mansion where you can refill them) 2. Hat 3. Sunscreen 4. Sunglasses 5. First-aid box 6. Munchies ( Chikki, glucose, dry fruits, chocolates) 7. Packed lunch You will not require any warm clothes as you start the hike. The temp is comfortable enough without it. Also reduces your luggage. You will be accompanied by two experienced guides from the basecamp. The trail is an extreme of ascent and descent, so wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip and clothes covering the legs and arms as you walk through thick shrubs and forest and in the sun. There are few pit stops to acclimatise with the heights. A 15 mins break at Rhodo mansion. Passing through 8 peaks we reach Meesapulimala and the pain is worth its beauty and serenity. Lunch break for half an hour and the descent starts. Reached the basecamp at around 5 pm. Black tea and biscuits and return to the forest office in jeep. Lot of great places to click photos, but don't risk your safety for it. There are packages like Sky cottage, Rhodo mansion at affordable prices. There are also treks starting from Rhodo mansion where half the trek is already covered by a jeep ride. Overall great experience. Was worth all the pain and effort.

I went with @HikerIndia(Insta). They specifically do meeshapuli mala and provides off beat destination near to it. Trek - Intensity is moderate. But the good thing is there is enough time to take rest and climb. Increasing order of height in an eventual manner but not always. Food : Carry food that can increase your glucose levels and always carry extra water bottle. Clothes - Wear light clothes if there is heat. Else go for warm clothes Leeches - There is a waterfall near to basecamp.If you are going in that way let me tell you , do not wear shoes with holes lile decathlon or any such and any shorts exposing your lower body. Its raining leeches of different shape and sizes. But the view is inexplicably good at the end thus you feel the journey as worth. Precautions like sanitizer or leech prevention stuff must be taken else it will be hard to remove fully sized leeches fron your skin Its Real. Hype comes no where close to the real view. Types of tremendous view has no limits. If you haven't been there yet, then its a great loss.Good amount of trekking is there.One must carry food. Finest experience of trekking and the scenic beauty. Booking through KFDC is more suitable than the private bookings. you can have a beautiful trek of 17km, trek is moderate, carry 1 liter bottle and some biscuits sufficient for the trek. Guided trek , well maintained, no plastic zone. keep it clean. you will definitely get some beautiful clicks.
