Stamford is a Connecticut city on Long Island Sound. North of downtown, Stamford Museum & Nature Center has exhibits on natural and cultural history, in a 1929 mansion. Its grounds include an educational farm, an otter pond and an observatory. Cove Island Park is a bird habitat, with beaches, wetlands and trails. Cummings Park has a beach and boardwalk. The wooded Mianus River Park is on the city’s outskirts.

The Bendel Mansion at Stamford Museum & Nature Center was the perfect place for our wedding. Every part of the house and grounds is more beautiful than the last with Italian sculptures, including a beautifully carved fountain, and of course the stunning Tudor style house. There is a large conference room to get ready, a gallery for cocktail hour with art installations, a wooden dance floor area, and a long dining hall and atrium for seating guests at dinner. They have a great selection of furniture to start from that offsets rental costs and while you do have to select from their list of approved caterers, we found the list to be quite long and were introduced to the perfect company for us through it (shout out to Best In Gourmet!). The SM&NC team takes such beautiful care of this property and we were so grateful for their hard work at our wedding, highly recommend!

Great museum, farm and park. Can easily spend the whole day here. Everything is well kept, clean and beautiful. There are many hand wash stations everywhere and the washrooms are clean. Great place for children.

Loved coming here as a child and have amazing memories. Unfortunately, my most recent experience here with my little ones was disappointing. The staff isn’t friendly or welcoming at all. They look miserable for a place so well kept and beautiful - the only exception was the nice lady at the gift shop who managed to smile. The guest experience is so crucial in this financial climate.

We were very happy to discover this place. Only 15 minutes from Stamford downtown. There is a bit of everything here: I really liked the palace and the statues. The boardwalks were nice and peaceful. We met two young fawns there. Also on the territory of the nature center we saw a lot of animals: cows, goats, chickens, ponies, pigs, horses, llamas and many reptiles in small souvenir houses. And otters, they are as always, amusing and amazing. Worth a visit for sure, even without children - a good anti-stress therapy.

Reallllly awesome place for kids and adults alike. Beautiful grounds and my son pet a baby goat, a Llama and a horse here! There is also an amazing otter that they feed every day and I recommend bringing your kid to watch the show!

Not really for adults. When was the last time you were at the Stamford nature center? Maybe as a child? It’s got a cool old mansion with an art gallery, sculptures outside, an adjacent Full farm with petting, a natural preserve watershed with trails and elevated deck, and a little bit of art and a lot of basic science. They also have a brand new “barn” area w patio that opened November 2018 for wedding ceremonies - it is very nice. and they are building a full planetarium and observatory over the next few years! Disabled accessible, family friendly. No pets. But glad I came it’s very pretty today! Will come again. Plenty of donations. Snack food at gift shop and food trucks on site. Would give 5 stars if more epic scenery for adult hikes. Great for kids. Great for indoor and outdoor events. Good for weddings.

Amazing time with my kids and family! The “Wild exhibit” was particularly engaging and fun. The staff G the wild and the Stamford Nature Center are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. This place was a lot of fun. It's a great activity that you would not expect to be so close to an urban center like Stamford. There is also an observatory here which is open only at specific times, but it offers another possibility to explore. I spent the day hiking around the premises and watching the animals. There were also fully ripe raspberries available to pick and eat right there.

I truly love this beach. Its location has a lot of diversity. It’s not just a beach; there is a park for kids and bike and walking paths, as well as bbq pits. Great place to walk the dog. If you go early enough you can catch the sunrise too!

It’s absolutely gorgeous. I cut a star because when we were there in April there were no working restrooms. Anyone that visits with a family understands that is unacceptable. This park would be great if it wouldn't miss basic amenities: restaurant, beergarten, playground at the beach. There's a lot of unused space. Also the cycling / skating lanes have very rough and partially broken surface, so not great for skating.

A very beautiful place with a paved walk and a little beach. The sand is quite rough. The price to enter is expensive: $45 for weekday for non CT resident. And you better have cash because their credit card machine doesn't work due to poor internet connection there. And if you don't pay the entrance fee, the fine is$80!

Miles of neat walking and biking paths. Gorgeous views of Long Island sound. Nice beach. Convenient restrooms at either end. Needs a season pass (for stamford residents) or a day pass for non residents to enter via vehicle and park. There's a free tram that runs in the summer and takes you around the whole park if you are walking or biking challenged! Picnic benches abound. Great place for a picnic lunch.

My family gathers every year on the Sunday in mid March to celebrate the loss of a loved one. We have our dogs w us and it brings a smile to our faces when they run into the water and swim so gracefully. Being near the water in this peaceful setting brings us closer to eachother and our loved one who has passed. A slow reflective stroll around Cove Park sets the tone for a full day of healing and fellowship in honor of our beautiful sweet Jesse we all miss so much. May God bless.

Beautiful and serene place for a quiet afternoon walk. The park is well maintained except there are no restrooms. You can sit on the benches overlooking the river and have some quiet time to yourself. The view is amazing. The walking track is pretty small.

Nice paved trails to run, walk, skate, bike… on. Good views of the bay and some big rocks near the shore as well as open grass fields, and sand beaches. The water stays very shallow far out and it’s probably not the cleanest to swim in but there’s outdoor showers to wash off in after and bathrooms on site. The parking is fairly expensive if you don’t have a pass but you can maybe find a place nearby to park for free.

Went for a comedy show to see Troy Bond ,he was hysterical. You had to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask for the entire show which was fine but they didn't serve food or drinks but we found out when we got there that we could have brought our own beer or wine. That should be posted on the website. Other than that the show was great and the people that worked there were nice. I would definitely go back for other shows.

I did not know this place existed and I have been living in CT my whole life, the potential this place has to become the most amazing Arts Center is incredible. I loved it, very easy to get to, great location, friendly staff and most importantly they know how to pick their performers. I was very lucky to see Air Supply here in 2021 at a very reasonable cost. Air Supply was beyond what words could describe, it was magical and it was perfect all the way around. By the end of the show people actually walked up to the bottom of the stage and no one said anything, it felt so personal and every had a really great time. And I believe it happened this way because of how relaxed they were with having people fully enjoy the show with the band. Air Supply is an amazing band, they are one of a kind. I love that they gave yonger people the opportunity to play with them and that truly felt Iconic. Parking is right across the street or out in the street, you just have to read the signs. It was a very inexpensive parking, less than $6

Beautiful theater. Sat in Mezzanine row L. Excellent view of stage. Acoustics were wonderful. If attending the opera, recommend choosing toward the front of the mezzanine if you need to read subtitles. The stage lights get in the way of the screen on top where subtitles are shown.

Fish-like church with a very unique architecture. Always wanted to tour it and recently had a chance. Go inside if you have a chance to see how light plays with stained glass walls, very beautiful. A bell tower holds real bells and a real person playing on Sundays. People are very welcoming here

My family loves Fish church! I definitely feel closer to God worshipping in the beautiful space. It is a wonderful and supportive community. Their programming for children is outstanding.
