Great spot and it's free! Unlike most other attractions in the city which are a rip off

Absolutely beautiful! Visiting here in March is real nice: the weather is sunny and warm with a bit of breeze! The sea is tranquil, blue and clean. There are less tourists around so you can have a truly relaxed time in the fine sandy beach.
Yi An — Google review
Great beach to enjoy the summer sun and the view. It hurts a lot to walk on the gravel part of the beach so get yourself some kind of water shoes or sandals to enjoy walking along the beach. The shallow part of the beach was a bit dirty! All in all a great place to enjoy beach side relaxation for friends or couples!
Atmane Taoussi — Google review
The beach was lovely specially knowing were in a city, couple of downsides 2 beach seats and umbrella was quoted at 60 euros which was too expensive, we dipped our feet in the sea, when we was leaving found out that all the showers have been turned off but otherwise a lovely place
Eren Ahmet — Google review
Peaceful evening walk.
People play music and eat food at the beach, felt like summer, even in January.
It gets a bit windy so make sure to bring jacket!
Kristyna Tynkova — Google review
Great city beach with a vibrant atmosphere, though it does get crowded. Heads up—keep an eye on your belongings because of thieves. Otherwise, it’s a perfect spot to kick back and enjoy the view!
Szymon Piotrowski — Google review
A great beach, but is very busy in the height of Summer. Nice to get down here or any of the nearby beaches early to enjoy the sunrise
Chris Clift — Google review
Although we visited in April when the water is still cold and not suitable for swimming, the experience of walking along the beach was enjoyable.
There is an open gym, shower options and plenty of cafes and restaurants around the area. A separate walking path runs along the length of the beach where one can enjoy the sun and the breeze without getting on the sand. The beach was crowded but clean.
Padmini M S — Google review
Have a great time enjoying the cool sea breeze. It is not crowded during October. The beach is pretty clean and love the beach views
Jack Lim — Google review
Safest beach in Barcelona. The other beaches are smaller & harder to get to by foot - especially when it’s really hot or windy/rainy.
The beach is actually very long and large, if you are in groups of at least 2, you will have no issues with your valuables
Jeremiah Tiongson — Google review
Nice beach, super crowded though in summer. Accessible to places to drink, eat fish and try ice cream all around it.
Patricia Moghames — Google review
The beach was pretty touristy and crowded. Plenty of touts selling blankets/Mojitos keep coming up to you. The place was fairly clean with a ton of folks walking/cycling in the bike paths.
Karthik Suryanarayanan — Google review
It's a pretty big beach and there is another also close by, plenty of the crowd everyday, nice view of the city here as well. The water and the sand is not that beautiful but it's sufficient for whose like beach a lot.
Pasan Sensouk — Google review
We were there in May of 2023 and loved this beach. Lots of restaurants, restrooms and showers along the walk. There were lots of people but plenty not overly crowded. Would love to visit again one day!
Jason Minnick — Google review
I did not anticipate going to the beach on this trip. I went for a run with my son and found an incredible beach. It was clean and very open, with expansive, sidewalks and biking and running areas. There were also plenty of places to work out. We found many people doing yoga and meditation. We even saw a small group of people meditating before sunset, and then going in for a swim!
Mindy Ramirez — Google review
The beach was very nice and well maintained. The constant patrolling made me, a tourist, feel very safe and comfortable with my belongings
Aditya Vadagave — Google review
Very open and vast beach. It not only has some beautiful views along with restaurants and shops on the ground floor, it also has other facilities like the gym platform by which is quite popular for both adults and kids. Very great atmosphere and refreshing vibes.
From its establishment as a fishing village with a handful of factories and a few homes until about 30 years ago, Barceloneta lacked a public beach but was known for appearing in the famed book Don Quixote as the scene of a climactic fight.
SuperJ 1240 — Google review
My favourite spot at the moment it was beautiful. The sand is grainy and dry so it doesn't stick to you, also a perfect place to go shell picking. I found loads of beautiful sea shells and pebbles. The sight is too beautiful
Zara Yasin — Google review
It is a marvelous place, it’s in the city so you can walk to the amazing place, the sand is soft, the view is incredible, even was too windy because the season the vibe is peaceful and lovely, there are some food and stuff sellers but not worry about it.
Rocio Vargas — Google review
I had a great time at the beach. Come here and chase the sunrise if you don’t want to be bothered by the vendors. Listen to music and just be grateful for the experience.
Adrian Joaquin — Google review
This is a lovely beach if you’re in Barcelona. It’s pretty clean and there are restaurants and shops all over. It’s not the nicest beach on the med or even in Spain but since it’s clean and there’s plenty to do it’s five stars to me!
Michael Dill — Google review
Very good beach to enjoy the evening. There are so many shopping areas and restaurants nearby. There were not big waves on this beach, and also not so deep. Sand also not that great but it's ok to sit and walk on the sides.
jayeshmon cj — Google review
Really good beach, not much crowded, blue water and very clean.
Lods of shops and restaurants on the side, also multiple vendors selling bedsheets (if you haven't got one to use on the beach), drinks and snacks.
Easily accessible through metro. Also kayaking and snorkeling can be done here (pre bookings only).
manish temani — Google review
busy beach full of tourists but i really liked it. plenty of food and seating options on the walkway. and plenty of space for people to hangout on the beach

Probably the best beach in Barcelona with a fantastic view of the W Barcelona hotel. Perfect for pictures and for a lovely walk in the evening. Highly recommend seeing if you’re in Barcelona.

Barcelona Beach is a must-visit for any summer trip to the city! The golden sand and sparkling water create a stunning backdrop for a relaxing day under the sun.
But the beauty doesn't stop there. You'll find a vibrant atmosphere with people from all corners of the world soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach life.
And for the early risers, Barcelona Beach puts on a spectacular sunrise show. The sky comes alive with vibrant colors, making it a truly unforgettable experience. So whether you're looking for a lively beach scene or a peaceful sunrise moment, Barcelona Beach has something to offer everyone.

Brilliant to get away from Barcelona city to a quieter place by the sea. Not overly busy as we visited a few days before Good Friday. A good 10-15 minutes walk from Barceloneta Metro stop. Lots to see as the marina had many yachts docked on one side of the road. On the other side are many restaurants and the beach area. Lots of tapas bars on the beach. The place was pristine and clean. Lots of benches to sit on and listen to the waves. People roller blading, cycling, outdoors gym for people to use. A healthclub had an outdoors pool, gym and racquet sports court for its members overlooking the sea. Volleyball and Football practice was also on the beach. Seeing the approach between how the beach is used for health and wellbeing in Spain vs the UK was eye opening. The UK can learn something to encourage this approach. The sun came out to a lovlely 18C. Stayed from mid afternoon, had dinner at Mana 75 and then walked back as the sun was setting. It was beautiful to see all of the lights in the evening. Being by the sea always makes everything right. A must see visit.

Olivia Anne — Google review
Beautiful beach, clear water, fresh sea air and amazing view but kind of crowded as a popular tourist resort area.
Ilona Gi — Google review
Beautiful beach! One thing that didn’t sit well with me, however, was all these people looking to sell you drinks, towels, or massage services. Aside from that, lots of fun!
Carlos Portillo — Google review
Pretty awesome Beach, so close to the city. We stayed with a mate who had an apartment overlooking the beach.
The towel sellers, drink waiters, police, sandcastle builders, rollerbladers, massage ladies, dog walkers, yachts, wing foilers, and general atmosphere provided an entertaining visit.
The water is pretty cold. We did go for a few swims.
Great sunrise.
The Barcelona Zoo, one of the most popular attractions in Spain, is home to 2000 animals and 300 species. Kids can enjoy penguin feedings, elephant training sessions, dolphin shows and more at no extra cost. The zoo is also a great place to meet people of different ages and explore the natural habitats that correspond to the animals on display.
Quite small but one of the best I've been visiting. All animals are out and you can see them quite closely. The kids loved it! There is a good playground as well.
Ilona Palkovs — Google review
Barcelona Zoo is a hidden gem.
It’s located at the end of a beautiful park.
It’s huge!!! It took me two hours just to walk around, even then I didn’t see everything!
Some of the enclosures are small, so I couldn’t see some of the big cats, but the rest are ample for the animals.
Around €24 per adult and €12 for under 12’s.
Use the official zoo website to buy tickets, as they give you months to use them. The other website Tickets were just for that day. Great if your plans change last minute. Especially if it rains!
Plenty of spaces for you to bring your own lunch.
The zoo is perfect for a young family to visit. You can get the metro there and walk a few minutes to find it.
Charlie Grubb — Google review
Seemed huge, spent about 5h to see all if it, fast-forward. Some of the attractions were closed (e.g. no dolphins, no insects section and few others), elephants were in a bad shape. Interesting to see the rest though. As a tourist with limited time, I'd say skipping it would not be much of a loss.
Nicu Lazar — Google review
The zoo is clean and educational (we have panels to get info on the species), and the plan isn’t too bad.
I wouldn’t recommend visiting when it is real hot outside, animals hide in the shadows and don’t feel good, as it seemed.
We feel quite close to the animals.
We did not see the big felines, probably due to the heat. But no trace of the lions.
The gorilla-giraffe-elephant spaces are pretty good.
The playground for kids seemed nice.
Bring coins for drinks dispensers.
Some vendors are apparently not so happy having clients, that’s definitely something to improve.
Some areas are in renovation. The delphinarium is closed.
Tickets remain expensive.
Chlo? Trevisanut — Google review
This zoo offers a great enriching experience to guests with a plethora of magnificent fauna, yet also ensures that the well-being of its animals are just as much of a priority. Although it’s available to the public from 10am-8pm, it’s good to expect certain animals are more active in the morning and afternoon rather that the evening, as most at the time would be resting in the shade or in their private rooms.
The Ropen — Google review
Fun place to visit, I would recommend planning 3+ hours to visit the whole place.
Plenty of spaces inside the zoo and it had bicycles inside for you to use.
I liked the insect museum. Great for families too.
Food outside: there is a very nice tapas place nearby that's called Perikete which is just 15 minutes walk away which I highly recommend, (stools type of seating).
L. Sou — Google review
We went at the end of October and a lot of exhibits were closed. That was disappointing. But it was clean and really large. You can see the animals up close. I would say if you have the opportunity in the summer you should make arrangements to see it.
Sonja Degenhardt — Google review
Nice but not spectacular. Positive is that it’s not overcrowded. Negative is the fact that many areas are closed and/or under construction. It’s a pity that none of the restaurants were open and the person at the souvenir shop gave the impression to be very bored, looking the whole time in her mobile phone instead of interacting with the customer.
Cinzia Muggiasca — Google review
My girlfriend and I visited the zoo in February. The weather was perfect and the sun was shining. Upon arrival we were amazed by the location of the zoo, which is in the middle of the city. The place is so big, much bigger than I had expected. We saw a lot of animals except for the Komodo Dragons. The old enclosures looked a little small sometimes, but the new ones were amazing. Overal, we had a great experience and would highly recommend. As an animal lover I would have loved to see some more invertebrates and some reptiles like snakes, lizards, and crocodiles.
David Bokov — Google review
Make sure you give it plenty of time, at least 2 hours or even 3-4 if you have never been there before, as it’s a really huge park and if an animal is asleep, you might need to get back later to see it awaken.
Amazing zoo with lots of species.
aposm88 — Google review
Day visit in March. V15 bus
Tickets via box office at the front.
Great zoo where you can actually see the animals!
Most is the animals were to be seen and some houses were saved from circus acts, the elephants.
Well presented in a circular walk and can be seen in 2 hours or a lot longer lunch and lots to learn.
bertie malco — Google review
A must see for all ages - this is one of the nicest zoos I have visited. The layout is easy to navigate, the enclosures are easy to view and match many of the natural habitats. Seeing the staff interact with the animals shows they are treated very well here. Also, being located in the park makes it easy to access.
Liv R — Google review
Lovely zoo. We wasn't able to see any of the large cats as they were inside due to it being to hot. Indoor viewing of these areas would make the zoo so much better.
We needed the whole day to explore with two young boys and escaped from the sun in the main restaurant (only one open during the week - all food courts are open at weekends).
We went on the trip with Jet2 so cost more, but was definitely worth a visit if you expect children. Buy drinks before you go in as when your in there they charge double the price.
Lovely selection of animals and overall cleanliness of the park is good. Gift shop is extortionate and they make you walk through to exit.
Emily Tricarico-Humber — Google review
Visited the Park in early November 2023. Many of the cages were empty, being rebuilt or closed for other reasons. I am not a vet or a biologist, but many of the animals did not seem happy. very confined space for bears, gorillas and chimps. Guess the bears posture says it all. Giraffes were being fed by visitors with all kinds of stuff. Not really ideal.
Philipp Amann — Google review
We couldn't see a few animals especially early in the morning, that's why I'm giving it 4 stars.
The senior tickets are exclusively sold at the entrance, for adults you can buy tickets online but you need to validate them in the entrance too.
I recommend giving it half a day to see everything, and take pictures, especially if you have kids.
Mohamed Ala AL CHIKHA — Google review
A really nice and very big Zoo, with many animals. We arrived for the opening thus luckily it was not crowded. The animals look like they have a good place with good care.
Gabor Sziklai — Google review
Visited this Zoo while I was away in Barcelona. The sheer size of it was impressive it took a good 2 hours and multiple times getting lost to see the whole place. Highly recommend especially if you have little ones with you.

I visited Barcelona zoo recently and was amazed by the diverse amount of animals and loved the information given about each one! What I will say is that it was a bit confusing to make sure u see everything in the park as not many arrows letting u know etc. We didn't see the jaguar and the lions were hard to see but overall I enjoyed the day out.🦓🦍🦧🐘🦒

Beautiful! A wide variety of animals from all over the world. Clean and tidy. Places to eat something. Gift shop at the end. Games for kids. Interactive experiences and more!

Very beautiful and spacious Zoo with a lot of different spices.
We were very impressed by the Comodo dragons exhibition and the apes area. The Savanah part was also super interesting and well made, but unfortunately, the elephants were too far from the view area.
We went on Monday and the cafes and restaurants didn't work, keep that in mind. Very nice kids play ground.
Monika Ilieva — Google review
Visited the zoo in December 2023 for the second time, not too busy, kids enjoyed all the animals. The most interesting part was to discover the parrot which was talking. With 5 kids we stayed about 5 hours in the Zoo. There are 2 playgrounds as well where children also explored. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We took 5 kid's menus which were big enough to satisfy hungry tummies of children aged 5->11.
There few animals missing this time, in comparison with December 2021 when we visited this site for the first time.

This is The Best One. Beautiful facility, beautifully designed & full of Beautiful brands. Although I am not here for promoting brand culture.. but here you can do alot. As these are outlets of all the brands so you can get very decent prices. IT IS SHOPPERS PARADISE. Every year in December it decorated beautifully with Christmas 🎄 theme. This one is highly recommended.

eeling stressed or want to spice your holiday? Well, shopping is one of the answers. La Roca Village, a shopping outlet in Barcelona, is the place you must visit in Barcelona, especially for shopping mania.
Over 100 boutiques and stores welcome you to spend your money and shop till drop. Popular fashion such as Gucci, Prada, YSL, Loewe, and many more are available at a special or discounted price. On top of this, you are still entitled to claim a tax refund, and all do it in online way for the tax refund, which makes it all become more manageable.
Outside of this shopping village, there are two huge factory outlets of Nike and Mango. Cafe and restaurant are available here, and free wifi.
Happy Shopping!

So… this is only for those who crave branded shopping outlets. I got almost 70% of the rack price but not all brands have similar offerings. To each his own. Your VIP 10% does not apply to the premium brands. So do not embarrass yourselves. I was last here pre Covid and the place is very nicely maintained and is great for 2-3 hours to kill. Also impressed by the cleanliness of the lavatories!
I definitely had a great time.
Only unpleasant event is that the bus only departs now from the central station instead of Passig De Gracia where I used to hop on. There is no signages at the station and you need to ask around before knowing where to find the operator.

La Roca Village is a must-visit shopping destination for anyone exploring Barcelona. Situated just outside the city, this luxurious outlet village offers a wide range of high-end brands at discounted prices, making it an absolute haven for fashion enthusiasts. However, there are a few important factors to consider before embarking on your shopping spree.
Firstly, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of planning your trip carefully around the bus timings. While La Roca Village is easily accessible by public transportation, it's crucial to keep track of the last bus departing at nine. Missing this bus can result in unnecessary complications, as alternative transportation options may be limited and costly.
Once you've ensured a smooth journey, prepare to be amazed by the extensive selection of footwear available at Armani. With a large collection to choose from, shoe lovers will find themselves in absolute bliss. From elegant formal shoes to trendy sneakers, Armani offers something for every taste and occasion.
Another brand worth mentioning is Paul & Shark, which provides exceptional value for money. Their prices are noticeably lower compared to ordinary stores, allowing shoppers to enjoy the best of luxury fashion without breaking the bank. Don't miss out on the opportunity to snag some incredible deals at this store.
While La Roca Village offers an exceptional shopping experience overall, it's worth noting that the perfumes sold here tend to be quite expensive. For fragrance enthusiasts, it might be wise to explore other options before making a purchase. There are numerous perfume boutiques in Barcelona that offer a wider range of choices at more competitive prices.

Really nice shopping place for women, and fortunately there are many good places where the man can go and relax. There are nice places to eat, and their toilet facilities are good. You are allowed to bring your dog and there is a smoking area "but be considerate of other non-smokers" You can spend half a day here, but it can be a bit boring for men. There is a lack of real men's shops, the only type of shops they have out here are sunglass, bag and clothing shops. But can still recommend visiting the place if you like shopping. 4 stars ☀️☀️☀️☀️

Platja de Lloret de Mar is a beautiful and popular beach with a large bay. The sandy shore can be busy, and the water has surprisingly large waves that deepen quickly. There's a steep drop-off from the beach to the sea, making it less suitable for small children. However, there are calmer areas near Castel d'en Plaja and in the evenings.
It's a very nice beach with lots of entertainment, bars and restaurants. Very clean water, but watch your kids when it is wavy. It's deep in a couple of metres.

Came here for the day, stayed in one little area! I really like this beach the sea is quite clear, the sand is quite rough and hard to walk on but it’s ok, there’s plenty to do, drinks and food nearby an aqua course, pedal boats, toilets and showering facilities nearby. the sun beds are €8 each and extra for umbrellas and has lovely views of the area. Decent beech, if not a little busy. I could not walk on the sand barefoot (VERY, very small pebbles), the beech has surprisingly large waves and the water gets deep quickly. There is a steep drop-off from beech to sea which, whilst good for landing small pleasure boats, is not good for small children. I (adult) was almost knocked off my feet by waves whilst walking along the shoreline. Up towards Castel d'en Plaja (rocky area), plus (generally) in the evenings, the drop-off/wave size was not as bad.

Very nice beach (not fine soft sand) and beautiful water. On south side there is a stone coastal pathway that leads to an overlook and castle ruins.

Traveled here on the local bus from Tossa Dr Mar.
Having got off at the main bus station it was not far to walk to the beach and along the cliff top path to climb up the rocky headline or further if you wish to.
Nice sandy edge inlet swimming shallows.
Well worth a day trip and worth the bus price.
Check before returning as I thought I bought a return ticket but was informed otherwise at the ticket office bus station when I enquired about this.
Nice scenic stroll along the promenade beach front and returned back to the bus station down the back streets.

Nice place to visit, excellent food, lots of bars and clubs people are very welcoming the food pictures are from the best restaurant by far la tagliatellia located on the far end of the beach close to the castle.
Castillo de Tossa de Mar is a large and well-preserved castle with extensive fortification walls, numerous towers, and a courtyard. The town of Tossa de Mar is located on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, between rocky outcrops and tree-studded hills, blending the modern comforts of resorts with an authentically old-world local charm.
One of my favorite places in Catalonia. This sea city features everything you need for a fun and relaxing weekend. Beaches are clean and spacious with Tiki bars, and restaurants all around the town. The views are absolutely amazing no matter where you go. Going up hill is a fantastic experience whether by train or on foot. Every step you take has a view. Although there are few ruins left of the ancient fortress, you still can appreciate the walls and towers which surround it. There's a nice little restaurant half way up the top of the hill, and another one where the light house stands at. There's also a cute museum with nice little things found in the area. Don't miss taking a picture with Ava Gardner's sculpture and the little chapel behind it and on the way back you can follow a different path with stone covered streets which lead to all the traditional restaurants and shops and don't forget to wear comfortable shoes to climb up the stairs along the walls.

This ancient fortress wall, perched high on the cliffs overlooking the picturesque town of Tossa de Mar, carries an aura of history and charm. As I walk along the well-preserved stone pathways, I am transported back in time, imagining the lives of those who once defended this coastal stronghold. The commanding views of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea and the rugged coastline are simply awe-inspiring. The blend of medieval architecture, narrow winding streets, and colorful houses make Tossa de Mar a true gem on the Costa Brava. The Muralles de Tossa de Mar not only offer a glimpse into the past but also provide a stunning vantage point to admire the beauty of the present. Exploring these ancient walls is a journey through time that ignites my imagination and deepens my appreciation for the rich history and natural splendor of this enchanting town.

Beautifully preserved gem of a resort on the Costa Brava in Catalonia. With Fantastic views of the sweeping beach from high on the castle walls, Tossa de Mar has kept it’s authenticity by respecting it’s history and providing a safe, welcoming resort for travellers of all ages.

Nice village to spend quiet time next to the chill sea..
I would say that it is the best for elders and couples with kids.
Great views, old streets, plenty of restaurants... The old town is very cozy as well.

Tossa de Mar has no direct train from Barcelona, you have to go to Gerona or Calella and travel onwards from there.
Parts of the old town date back to the 1600's with what I would describe as 'typical' Spanish architecture. The basement of the museum in the castle dates back to Roman times where there was a villa. As can be seen from the pictures there is the original mosaic.
There are beautiful views across the bay from the top of the castle and is worth the walk.

One of the best beaches i have ever been to. If you're a tourist and wants to visit beach in Spain then i would recommend to visit Costa Brava Region. This is a beautiful pebble beach. Tossa de mar is one of the cities to visit them. There are 2-3 beaches, small and big. There is a castle on the beach side so you can see Sea from some height. There isn't any fee to enter the castle. There are direct Buses to Tossa de mar from Barcelona, operated by Moventis, I don't know about the prices, but it should be around 10-15 Euros. If you want to travel from Girona, then you have to take bus till Lloret de mar (One way price 6,05, takes 1 hour) and then lloret de mar to Tossa de mar (takes 25-30 minutes, one way price 2.4 Euros). You can also visit beautiful streets of Tossa de mar.

Having strolled through the city, going to the old castle throws you back in time. You can almost see the large sailing ships, hear the cannons roar and see the soldiers manning the tower and fortress.
Looking down to the ocean from the castle is amazing. You can actually see the fish and rocks going disappearing in the depths of the ocean.
On top of it all - quite literally - there is a small cafe with the most amazing views. Almost 360 degrees unhindered view of the Mediterranean.
Enjoy your drink!

Girona Cathedral is a large, impressive building made of many different styles of architecture. It is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations in the region. The cathedral has a wide Gothic nave that is larger than any other Gothic church in the world.
One of the most important cathedrals in Europe. a very interesting place that is worth the detour. Not to be missed, the carpet of creation. one of the most beautiful pieces of art you can see. Wonderful

Girona was originally on my plan, on my way to Barcelona to Marseille, I made a stop for lunch, and the quick lunch turned out to be a whole afternoon leisure. I stayed at the Cathedral of Girona for over 2.5 hours, appreciating its architecture wonder. It has the widest nave of 23 meters for any cathedral in the world. It also collected the tapestry of creation treasure, the 1000 year old tapestry was still having the brightest colors you could imagine, with the design and story behind the tapestry. It is truly a masterpiece collection! The cathedral was very quiet on a Monday afternoon, only less than a dozen people inside. I was a very pleasant surprise visit of the cathedral! 🙏🙏🙏Cheers!😃😃😃

This church in Girona is truly majestic and one of the main attractions for visitors. It is one of the best churches I have seen in Europe. The Cathedral of Girona is a thousand-year-old building famous for its historical significance and its appearances in film and television. The building is located at the highest point of the old city of Girona, known as the "Old Force," and is protected by a set of walls and ramparts. The Gothic nave, tower of Charlemagne, cloister, and sacristy remain from its Romanesque period in the mid-11th century.

The ‘Catedral de Girona’ is one the most impressive architectural buildings in the whole region. The church lays imposing at the top of a beautiful, long staircase - the best spot for portrait pictures, of course. I recommend going early to avoid too much wait.

This Gothic Cathedral is certainly a sight to behold. Beyond its beauty, it is so rich in history, so be sure to pick up an audio guide on your way in. Entrance is 7 euros, which includes entrance to the basilica as well. The Cathedral has many beautiful and majestic pieces of tapestry draped over its walls, so take your time to enjoy that and the rest of the art displayed throughout the space. Definitely a must-visit during your stay in Girona.

WOW! This is the widest cathedral I have ever seen. It's the second widest in the world, after St. Peter's basilica in Vatican! Its dimensions hit you when you arrive in the square, it's enormously beautiful. The painted glass windows are exquisite, very well maintained. Take the audio guide, it's free and very informative.

Stunning cathedral, really glad I decided to go in! (versus only taking a photo of the famous steps) It's the tallest cathedral nave in Europe and has amazing stained glass. The audio guide is great and included with ticket entry. They also do student discount. Come in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, as the coach tours have gone home in the afternoon and there's several cafes still open in Girona at that time.

Visiting the Girona Cathedral is a must if you're in Girona. I visited other great churches and cathedrals throughout my travels, but for some reason, this one took my breath away as soon as I walked through the door. It must be the sound of the organ playing, mixed with the dark setting and the overwhelming size of the interior. It's hard to describe. You have to see it for yourself!

Went to Girona in November 2023 for a University Trip, was absolutely gorgeous and so quiet even though it was a Thursday! 100% recommend if you want a holiday without all the noisy tourists, a lot of steep hills and walking so if you’re a bit older or have a few kids probably not great but if you don’t mind the walking it’s a lovely area, plenty of shops and cafes further back in the towny area, this was about a 15-25 min walk from the shops and stuff but that area wasn’t horrifically crowded, pretty average I would say, so overall a lovely area and perfect for travels ^^

The cathedral is the jewel in the crown, the old town is steeped in history with it's many narrow streets and tall buildings but sitting high above them all is the magnificently built Cathedral, the entrance ticket is 7.50 euros as of November 2023, and it is worth paying just from the visual aspect, but will the tickets price you get an electronic guide that you hold up to your ear, thankfully these ones work really well and easy to use and the information is clear and short and very well explained, so give it a big thumbs up

It was a rainy day so there was ample parking but limited public restrooms at the entry where bus trips lined up to relieve themselves. Certainly a monument to behold. Its wonderful to walk on history. Very evocative of medieval cliches (you transport yourself to those times without a lot of effort, you expect the taxman at the gate to ask you for some fee to allow your produce to go inside for selling, if you know what I mean).
However, overcrowded scene brings down the fantasy 2 notches. Signs of the times…

Besalú is a medieval town with a 12th-century Romanesque bridge over the Fluvià river.
The name Besalú is derived from the Latin Bisuldunum, meaning a fort on a mountain between two rivers.
The town's importance was greater in the early Middle Ages, as capital of the county of Besalú, whose territory at one point extended as far as Corbières, Aude, in France. Wilfred the Hairy, credited with the unification of Catalonia, was Count of Besalú.

The cobblestone streets, flanked by well-preserved medieval buildings, transport visitors back in time. Besalù is not only a feast for history enthusiasts but also offers delightful culinary experiences with its local Catalan cuisine. Salvador Dali's famous art museum is housed in a red castle-like building with giant eggs and stylized Oscar-like statues. The museum exhibits pieces from Dali's early career to his later works, including installations and more discreet pieces. Visitors will likely be able to speak English, but it's polite to learn some Catalan as well.
Unique experience, the whole place is amazing. Apart from the paintings and the installations on display, visitors can also have a chance to see the artwork of some other artists. Also we had the chance to see the work that Dali did in relation with Dante's Divine Comedy. Definitely worths a visit no matter if Art is your cup of tea or not!

Famous museum with a lot of famous and impressive works of art and sculpture! Decent interpretation as well. I liked the Mae West room, and the room near the end with the melted clock and the feet on the ceiling.
It can be busy, so book online in advance. The ticket price is also fair at E15, not ridiculous like some in Barcelona.

Amazing place, totally worth it. Salvador Dali’s art is awesome. Definitely have to see it in person. The Museum is pretty big and you need at least two hours to see everything. In addition to the main part, there is another exhibition (in another building) with Dali’s jewellery which must be seen as well. The museum is so pretty on the outside also. There is a shop inside to buy authentic souvenirs. Had a great time, you should visit it too, if in Barcelona!!!

The museum that Dali himself designed for himself and his posterity. You need a guided tour to fully understand the nuances of the museum. While I didn't see any signature pieces, still saw a number of unique pieces to make it a worthwhile visit. The city of Figueres is Dali's hometown and having his museum there, he is giving back to his hometown with the tourist dollars forever. Definitely a proud native son.

Really 4.5. It is a unique and interesting museum, but it didn't sweep me off my feet. For one thing, it's not very large. And it doesn't contain some of Dali's best works. When there are a lot of people, it can feel crowded. Nonetheless, it's worth a visit if you are in Barcelona for at least 3 nights.
Also, no need to go there with a tour company, as it's readily accessible by train out of Barcelona for a fairly inexpensive price, and a 15-20 mins walk from the train station. The town of Figueres is also cute, so it's worth strolling through it a bit.
Igor Faynshteyn — Google review
Probably the main attraction of Figueres. It is possible and recommended to purchase tickets online in advance. The museum is splendid, with the peculiarity that, by Dali's own will, there is no predetermined route, and everyone is free to visit it in their own way. More explanations regarding the exhibited content would have probably made the visit even more interesting, but it remains an overall splendid experience.

Well, what else can be said about this sublime museum? Dali designed and set it all up and you can tell as much upon entering and the ensuing adventure within.
I visited in May 2016 when the weather was beautiful. The train from Barcelona doesn’t take too long and is cheap enough. The train I got took around 2 hours and cost around 20 Euro’s return. The museum ticket was 14 Euro’s but this may have changed.
The crowds were spread out so things didn’t get too claustrophobic and you can go off in pretty much any direction you wish. It’s definitely not your conventional journey inside a museum.
My visit was made more fun after meeting a recently divorced American lady who sold everything up and decided to back pack around Europe. She has been a Dali fan since high school and this was one of her major stops along her travels. It was quite exciting to see someone from the other side of the world enjoying the museum like a child enjoys Christmas morning.
The shop was nice but could have had a little more on offer. I did pick up a lovely poster for the collection but there wasn’t a lot on offer which was a shame.
There are few museums around Europe that offer an experience of this kind. Now we are getting back to more regular travel, I would suggest you make The Dali Museum a high priority.

Difficult to put into words. If you like Dali’s work, given he designed this Museum - this is almost a religious experience. Be sure to visit the Dali Jewels exhibition just beyond the Museum gift shop, included with your ticket. Well worth the trip to the beautiful town Figueres.

The Dali museum was well worth the hassle of traveling to Figueres from Barcelona. It's a short walk (15 min) from the train station. We arrived late for our reservation due to us taking longer than expected on the train. They allowed us to come in only because there were open spaces in the next time slot but I highly recommend reserving tickets ahead of time. The museum is I think about 3 floors and ascends in a circular manner. It's extremely crowded in the afternoon so perhaps an early time slot is more comfortable. It was difficult to admire all the works due to the crowds but that was to be expected. If you're debating on coming here, take the plunge. I am a big fan of his artwork and to witness one of his greatest masterpieces, including his tomb was very gratifying.

Came on one of the busiest weekends mid August. The place was full of tourists, but even then we still had some luck with waiting outside the two nearby indoor parkings for around 10 minutes to be able to park. We walked up over to the ticket counter and bought the tickets to get access in the next 10 minutes. It was around 2:30pm when we got in. The place is a bit of a maze but it honestly fits with the vibe of Dali's art. Despite it being packed, the rest of the tourists were respectful of space and it was a generally nice visit. The art, of course, is amazing - a definite must visit.

A dream finally came true! Finally had the chance to visit Dalí Theatre. We stayed in Barcelona so we had to visit the Museum. I recommend you to get your tickets in advance online. I won’t describe my experience which was great 😊 just have a look at the photos and videos! outstanding

We were blown away by the intricate details and senses-evoking exhibits and experience that this museum had provided. As a Dali fan, it was a visual and thought-provoking feast! Even my companions of non-dali fans were easily converted into one after going through the works and installation.

Really interesting display. Interactive and fun. We tried not to get lost, many things to see. Quite sure we missed a few! Loved the pictures with Dali himself painting what we can actually see in the room.
Only bémol would be the app. If you take a picture with your phone, the app starts from scratch when relaunched… it takes too long.
Easy to park nearby - we added a nice walk downtown with small Christmas market.

Very interesting to walk and look around the huge museum of quirky and fascinating artwork and experience. You don’t have to love art to have a great time and enjoy this museum. It’s a fun place to experience
with friends and family and you can spend a lot of time just talking about it. Each artwork is so unique and eye catching - some are huge installations, some play with the architecture of the building, others require a second look to unravel the overall picture. There are so many hidden features in each area, depending on where you are looking from, something could look entirely different. It’s a museum unlike any other, where every wall and corner would have something special. Each artwork would have an artist statement and description, explaining the intention and meaning behind the piece, making it so much more interesting and easy to appreciate. Some art pieces are absolutely incredible in terms of their visual qualities like the choice of colour, the fine details, the overall composition. Included in the ticket, is a nearby building a few steps away from the museum, where there are artworks made of precious gems and jewels. Each piece was simply stunning - bedazzled in colourful gems, each work had a peculiar structure and form.

A must visit! I was very delighted with what I saw. There is one drawback - you may not get to the museum immediately as soon as you arrive in Figueres, due to the huge influx of tourists to the museum, as well as others who want to visit it, so I recommend purchasing tickets online in advance. We bought tickets at about 11.30 and got to the museum only at 16.15.

Amazing experience. If you are in the area this is a 'must do' even if you aren't into the work of Salvador Dali. This fascinating museum is all the more incredible given the fact that the great man conceived and created it himself during his lifetime.

No one ever will concur Dali in this type of “crazy”! It’s absolutely amazing 😻
When going there I would recommend:
1) buy tickets upfront online
2) If you are going with a baby, they will ask you to leave stroller at the entrance. So I would recommend to have a baby carrier with you

Plaça Gala i Salvador Dalí, 5, 17600 Figueres, Girona, Spain
The Salvador Dalí House Museum in Port Lligat is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. This unique museum showcases the eccentric and intriguing life of Salvador Dalí, who resided here with his wife Gala from 1930 to 1982. The magnificent seaside complex overlooks a serene cove, offering breathtaking views. The whitewashed structure consists of interconnected cottages and sunny terraces, connected by narrow corridors that create a fascinating labyrinthine experience.
A fantastic window into Dali's life and thoughts. His studio is wonderful, once you see some of his large pieces at the museum you'll understand his movable easel.
Make sure to have reservations or be ready to wait and get there early.

A must stop for any fan of Salvador Dali’s life and work. Get intimate with his life work by visiting his house in Port Lligat. You will learn so much. Do the house tour and visit the olive garden. Beautiful views from the top. A magical place for sure.

I feel like it had more potential - they could have made the whole tour QR code audio guided.
He seems like an interesting character so I’m sure it could have been packed with fun facts and his life story.
They have mini QR snippets here and there but literally like 1-3 sentences that hardly offers value.
Watch a documentary about him beforehand to get a foundation first because you won’t be taught anything about his life Eg where he grew up/where he’s from/ how he died/his career.
It’s cool to see the quirky house and garden. And the little bay that it’s in is cute. But definitely unmet potential.
Brid McNulty — Google review
Went in the low season so it wasn't crowded.
The setting is like a film set from a by gone time...stunning. His art isn't to my taste, nor the movement he is associated with but this environment is magical and we are in his intimate environment which has been frozen in time.

This was my favorite Dali museum out of the three! We went early in the morning on a Tuesday morning and loved the views from Dali’s personal Seaside mansion. This gives you a very close glimpse into the artist’s and his wife’s life together. Make sure to buy tickets beforehand! This was a very easy drive from Fugeres.

Entrance fee is 19€, but online 1€ cheaper, better to buy in advance, especially in summer.
Visits are possible in small groups, ~10 persons.
Guido speak English, Spanish, Catalan, French (not audio guide).
You’ll get a map for your tour.
Video about Dali’s life in the end of your visit, optional to see, language Catalan 🤦🏻♀️
We enjoyed our visit, recommend

We loved this house tour! Dali did a lot of curious things and this house is full of interesting things to see. The people there are very particular that you have to pick up the tickets 30 minutes early and you can only go in the house exactly when your ticket says. There is a delicious open air restaurant about a 2 minute walk from the Dali house, right next to the bay. Check it out.

Dali's house is now a permanent time capsule dedicated to the incredible life and work of one of our greatest ever artists. His home is virtually untouched since his passing and therefore gives the visitor a fascinating glimpse into the life of the world's most famous surrealist artists.
For me, the opportunity to stand in his studio with several of his unfinished works was quite awe inspiring and incredibly emotional.
I must applaud the dedicated staff who were both passionate and helpful. If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit to this historical attraction.

When in Spain, visit Dali! The view in front of Dali's house is no wonder why he was such a great artist! Full of scenic view. It's a bit of walk of ups & downs from Cadaques center but worth taking one. The house is now a museum surrounded by a small cafe, a washroom and an art gallery.

A neat and interesting look into Dalí’s life and how it influenced him as an artist. They were quite strict on the time to enter, but did ask to arrive half an hour before, so plan on wandering around the estate a bit before the tour. We did end up spending much longer than we anticipated since we enjoyed it more than we thought we would. What a fun house!

Must see! Mandatory to book the visit in advance. We’ve planed too visit the Theatre Dali Museum in Figueres and due to time availability, we decided to visit the house of the artist before. Unfortunately we didn’t planed right and didn’t booked tickets in advance. The result was that the day was sold out. Still we managed to visit the gardens and exterior (separate ticket), which was available. The pool is also included in this tour. It tooled us aprox 1h and it gave us an idea regarding the house interior. It definitely worth to see at least the exterior if not the full house. As Dali himself stated, one cannot understand the artist works, if one hasn’t visited the artist nest.

Baqer Alsalman — Google review
It’s a great place. It’s a true home where you can feel less madness of Dali but more everyday life of the artist and his wife. They lived here and it’s obvious. But you can still see his amazing flair and talent. However the system to buy and get the tickets is weird. Even if you buy it online (which i strongly recommend) you have to arrive 30 mins in advance to pick them up and wait for 30 mins to start the visit which doesn’t make any sense. We were here in winter and there were no places to stay a bit and drink coffee or have any snacks. 30 mins of walking around is not so cool. Meanwhile the museum itself is worth it. It’s the third spot out of three museums within the Dalí triangle. I would say that it’s not so surprising and expressive in comparison with others but it helps to understand how Dali felt the world around.
Kirill Maksimkin — Google review
Must to visit in Cadaqués. There is a spacious parking if you arrive by car otherwise it is 10min walk from the center.
Make sure you make a reservation if you want to visit the interiors while for the garden reservation is usually not needed.

The citadel of Carcassonne is a medieval fortress located on a hill on the right bank of the River Aude in southern France. The walls of the citadel are 3 kilometers long and are interspersed by 52 towers. The citadel is known for its well-maintained walls and for its panoramic views of the city.
An incredible restored ancient walled city that is definitely worth the time to stop and explore - an hour or two would suffice - or make a special trip to visit. Many stores and restaurants are closed due to the lack of tourists stemming from the ongoing pandemic which makes it easy to find parking and extra good service in the locations which remain open.

I love Castles and this is so far the best I've ever been too. It's completely surrounded by a wall and has lots of restaurants and shops within the castle walls, has a draw bridge entrance and the whole place is so well preserved and they are continuing to work on it. It's free to enter and walk around. I visited twice in 3 days, once at night which was amazing seeing it all lit up and then again the next day and it looked even better.

Amazingly well preserved city, the walls and the chateau comtal are absolutely breathtaking. The town inside is very well suited for tourists, but the narrow streets and vibrant colors make it stunning. I would recommend going on a sunny weekday, weekends are sometimes crowded and hot. For lunch there are many places to eat, restaurants, food stands, but if you prefer finer dining, it would be better to go back into the lower village for lunch. Allover a marvelous tourist destination nonetheless.

We did not enter the historical citadel, we just wandered around the exterior area and visited a restaurant for lunch.
It's all been very well restored and we had a great time. Amazing views from the entry / bus stop area as well as how spectacular the castle is.
Worth noting it was very busy so if you don't like crowds you're better off visiting this place in the off season.

This medieval city is so unique with its castle within a castle structures. It still breaths the medieval times, although almost all buildings have been modified to fit shops or restaurants.
They might have gone a bit more withholding on that part, that's why it's a 4 for me, as I like the fact it's being used, but not everywhere they took in account the history and authenticity.
Worth a visit you ask? Definitely!!

Carcassonne was granted two UNESCO World Heritage sites. One is the whole castle complex itself, the other is the castle you pay for a visit. After visiting the castle, I was looking for the other. The restaurant owner told me about the fact that it’s actually one castle inside a big one, which made sense to me then. The castle complex is massive, bigger than Le Mont Saint-Michel. However, I think Le Mont Saint-Michel is more impressive for the architecture and the overall atmosphere. It doesn’t mean that Carcassonne is not worth a visit, but if I can only recommend one to a foreign tourist, Le Mont Saint-Michel is definitely a go-to.
You can also find a lot of vine yards around the castle as well as Pyrénées at the background. The countryside view adds more agreeable touches to the castle.
Some trails around the castle are definitely good for a walk to get away from other tourists.
If you happen to be here in July, don’t miss out on the fireworks on Bastille Day. The fireworks and illumination at the castle is world class.

The site itself is impressive and we enjoyed the views as we walked from the old town area across the bridge to it. Inside the walls it was very touristy for us (a "mature" couple) but could see it more enjoyable for families with all the shops geared for them. There are a large number of restaurants so one should be able to find one that suits your needs.

Absolutely stunning walled castle. Definitely get the audio tour. About a 30 min walk from the train station. The town inside the wall is very touristy..best to head back to the lower town for meals, etc. Just remember that many restaurants close at 2pm.

I really loved this place. It's somewhere I've wanted to visit ever since I saw a photo of it several years ago. You can easily spend a day wandering the streets and taking in the beautiful surroundings - lots of quirky shops to visit. Still pretty busy when I visited (September 2023) but everybody was friendly and courteous. Can be a little expensive but nothing too crazy.
If you speak some French, even badly, people will really appreciate you trying! A tour of the castle and ramparts is also highly recommended and not too expensive (around €9).

Cité de Carcassonne is simply spectacular, with jaw-dropping views from every angle. Entry to the cite is free, allowing you to freely explore its narrow streets and soak in the lively atmosphere. With numerous restaurants, shops, and bars to discover, plus iconic landmarks like the cathedral and chateau, there's plenty to see and do. While access to the ramparts may require a small fee, the opportunity to capture stunning photographs all day long is well worth it.

Such a lovely place to visit, steeped in history, breathtakingly beautiful and wonderful restaurants, places to drink, get a coffee - and of course, don't forget to look around the town too - really nice! Parking is great up by the castle, however I imagine in the summertime you would be lucky to find a space. If you don't mind an extra 10-15min walk, there is plenty of parking at the bottom of the hill in the very safe, clean and incredibly reasonable underground carparks.

Amazing medieval city and castle. Had a quick visit but would need more time to really appreciate it. You can walk around inside the city for free but you have to pay to go inside the castle. How cool is it to be able to visit an entire, intact medieval city! The largest in Europe! A UNESCO site, if you love medieval bldgs, you will love this! Although the center is crowded with the typical tourist gift shops, walking around, I could feel what it could have been like so long ago! Most of the site is free. There is an intact Romanesque church. There is an about 9€ cost to visit part of the castle but we arrived to late in the day to do this (mind the times!). The cemetery has beautiful headstones on the crypts but it is not as old as it appears.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cité de Carcassonne, and it was an experience we'll cherish forever. From the moment we stepped inside the medieval walls, we were captivated by the rich history and vibrant atmosphere.
The variety of shops and restaurants within the Cité was truly impressive. It felt like stepping back in time while exploring the charming cobblestone streets, filled with unique boutiques and eateries. Whether we were indulging in local cuisine or browsing for souvenirs, there was something to delight every sense.
The self-guided tour of the ramparts and castle walls was a highlight of our visit. The opportunity to walk atop these ancient fortifications, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, was simply awe-inspiring. We could feel the weight of centuries of history as we followed the well-marked paths, and it provided a deep appreciation for the preservation efforts in place.
Overall, our visit to the Cité de Carcassonne was an enchanting journey through time and culture. We left with hearts full of admiration for this remarkable place and its ability to transport visitors to a bygone era. If you're looking for a destination that combines history, ambiance, and culinary delights, look no further than the Cité de Carcassonne. We were here at Easter and the city was very quiet. Shops were closing early. There is not much dinner option as most restaurants only serve lunch. Check reviews before you eat anywhere, as most places have bad reviews. Believe the reviews, we got very sick from one of the restaurants. There is a public toilet just opposite the main entrance of the castle. The little train that takes you around with tour guide was fun if you want to learn more about the city.

Wow what a neat and interesting place! It was an easy walk from the train station to the medieval city. There is a bit of an uphill walk at the very end. Lots of tourist at the entrance of the city but they soon dispersed. We had pre purchased our tickets to the castle and that made the wait much shorter. People who needed to buy tickets had to wait in a long line. Accidentally we walked towards the exit once we entered. It was a long walk along the fortress wall in one direction. Then before we knew it we had exited! So we made our way back to the entrance and were let back in to see the first part!
Washrooms are not the greatest in Carcassonne. There a free public W/C in the historic city. Some have toilets, some have a hole in the ground. Some have toilet paper, some don’t. I think they all stink. Totally worth getting lunch and using the restaurants toilet!
Once our day was over, we walked back to the train station and caught an earlier train back to Toulouse. Standing room only.
Carcassonne was a wonderful day with lots of old history. Must visit if in the area.

What a stunning place! The massive fortification bring you back to medieval times. There are a lot of nice, narrow streets to steal around and there are great views at every corner. Very pleasant was the fact, that in November the number of tourists are way down and it was very pleasant and almost empty everywhere. Definitely worth a visit.
To gain access to the ramparts of Cite Medievale, one must purchase admission to the Chateau et Remparts. This keep was constructed for the viscounts of Carcassonne in the 12th century and includes access to other parts of the castle. Although strollers are not permitted, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from this beautiful landmark, which offers some of the best vantage points in Carcassonne.
Super impressive and stunning views. It was worth every penny!

Gorgeous gorgeous castle. In the four days I was in the city I went to the castle about 5 times. Very pretty from any angle and any side street. And the inside of the castle is stunning. Definitely recommend to visit at any time of the day. I didn’t get a chance to experience it but I was told by a local friend that it presents spectacular sunset views (from the west side of the castle obviously). Great history and amazing architectural structure.

I have mobility issues and knew going in that the stairs would be an adventure for me. However, I also knew that I did not want to miss the opportunity to explore the castle from the ramparts. Probably a five star out of season, but in the crowds La Cite felt like medieval Disneyland on Easter Saturday. The Ramparts were the best part, but even here it was one long queue around the block. Amazing views, though, and I don't think there's anything else like it in the world. I got some pictures that captured the feel of a medieval castle of the edge of the Pyrenees, even if I felt like a tourist being shoved and jostled while I took them.

My third visit to this castle and it still thrills me, it’s a wonderful place to visit and incredibly well looked after. Allow 2 hours to visit the museum and walk the ramparts. Most of the quality shops are now gone (but try Little Julie for leather goods) so keep your money for places that are not tourist traps.

If you are visiting Carcassonne then the old city is a must do on your list. Go into the paid area which is the chateau. You can just get a ticket on the day in the off season but you need to get a ticket online in the summer and select a time. When you are online select the chateau as that has access to the ramparts. The ramparts option has no days to select. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk around and has a lot of steps but it’s worth it to do as you can get great photos. Walking around the outside is alright and we did that on another day and had lunch in one of the many places to eat but if you only have a short time then do the paid chateau visit.

The way they have planned the walk of the castle you get to see every part.
Be warned the walk is a full lap plus half of the internal walls... Approx 3.5km according to Google.

It's a very impressive fortress with one of the best walls/medieval defence that I have seen so far. Also the view to the surroundings is excellent.
Buuut most of the buildings inside are now tourist shops, restaurants and so on and the whole place is crowded buy tourist even during off-season. I really don't want to see this madness in summer.

They were spectacular. But this week was rather crowded and many tourists were in town, so the atmosphere wasn't that great

Pretty vast, with stunning views and many different towers. Must visit when in town, might be a bit crowded at times so I'd suggest getting tickets online in advance. The process for that is pretty easy. Also, if you take your time and stroll through, you might end up needing 90 minutes instead of the advertised 60. At least that was the case for us.

9.50 EUR entry and it was not busy. Highly recommended to visit this historic castle as you walk inside it but note here there are a lot of steps so not easily accessible. You can spend a good hour or two here exploring this castle with great views over Carcassone.
The Réserve Africaine de Sigean is a safari park and zoo that features African animals such as lions, gnus, and rhinos in both drive-through and walk-through areas. Visitors can observe these savanna animals in expansive enclosures that are well maintained. It is an ideal location for a day trip where visitors can enjoy lunch at one of the several snack bars available. The Sigean zoo is also dog friendly, making it accessible to pet owners looking for an exciting wildlife experience.
This is a great day out and they are dog friendly. The animals enclosures are big and are very well kept. They have several snack bars to get some lunch. We will definitely visit again

Very nice place, cool idea! You can have a "Safari" with your own car / camping car, driving around (queueing in August) among exotic animals wandering free!
After that, there is a walking only area with many others animals and attractions for children.
The whole route takes 4-5 hours -ish. Water available inside the park.
The only con is related to the safari part, if you go in August (or during high season) you will probably queue a lot waiting for people to take pictures of the animals.

Absolutely amazing! We went on a day trip from Spain to visit the reserve. The kids had a great time and the animals look very well taken care of. Well done to all staff for such an amazing job. 👏🏻👏🏻 I would say the bathrooms were dirty, maybe a little more care will be appreciated by the visitors.

It is ok for the less price.
We had a bad luck with a weather but still we managed to pass there a half of the day.
We liked the first driving part. It was interesting, animals were walking really close and that what you could name “safari”.
But, unfortunately, this part was short and the rest of the park was more close to a typical zoo. To compare zoo of Valencia and Barcelona, I liked more: more animals and better territory. A lot of zones were empty….
The restaurant of the park is not expensive but not tasty at all, in IKEA you could eat much better. The souvenir shop is incredibly expensive, 25 euros for the small animal toy looks ridicules.
To conclude, it is a good option if the price was double less, it doesn’t cost its price at all. And there are a lot of picnic zones on the open air where better to take something really tasty and enjoy your lunch.

Visited again in July 2023. A huge territory for a car ride and a walking tour. WC are free, there are restaurants where you can get a snack or have a full lunch. During my first visit the part of the reserve was closed because of the bird flu. This time I could discover their collection of birds, it's impressive.

We enjoyed our experience at this park. It’s quite rare you get to do a self-drive safari, especially in the middle of Europe. So, this is a once in a lifetime experience. There were lots of animals to see and the park is really well organised. Just that we keep in the super peak period and the self-drive was super slow from heavy traffic (tourists stopping to take photos). I would recommend to come as early as you can to avoid the traffic.

We fell in love with this reserve! We loved the idea that you get to see real predators through the window of your car at a pace you feel comfortable with. It was truly unique. Even though it was really hot (more than 30 degrees C), we saw all animals, even the lazy lions, and bears. There were also plenty of bovine animals walking freely and not being intimidated by the cars passing by. This part of the park took about an hour and a half. The rest of the park, which is accessible on foot, is a good 4-hour walk.
The sanitary parts were well-maintained and eating inside the park is not expensive, as one might expect. Also, there are proper indications throughout the entire park so you can never get lost. There are mist shower systems situated in several places to keep you cool. Last but not least, there are many taps with drinkable water (if you bring your dog, there are taps suited at about 30 cm above the ground, which are perfect for small dogs). Definitely recommend to all families and animal lovers!

I worked in Perpignan for a while so i visited what i could in the area :).
Been here with my fiancee, and didn't regret it at all. Was a pleasant day,not too warm, not too cold.
First part you travel in your car, we saw some black bears, some herbivorous animals like zebras, ostrichs and others. Than some Liones, actually one lion and some lionesses . Than we had a 4 hours walk , no rush and it was ok. Like a bigger zoo, animals with more space to run and play. No elephants or tigers, but for a walk in nature is a good place to go. The food is not the best and somehow expensive for what they offer. It is usually crowded, even if i went there outside the busy hours they say :).
After all it's a nice experience, worth going. This only if you haven't been in an actually Africa safari, than this will look like childish :).

All in all this was a beautiful experience. We arrived reasonably early within the week (Monday, 9.30am) and it actually worked out really well. It wasn't too full, you can slowly drive through the Safari and it is an absolutely unique experience! Beware that the Lion part of the Safari opens at 10am, so we did have to wait for a moment before we could enter.
The Staff is super friendly and speaks English as well.
The Walkable Part of the Park is also really nice, with a lot of shade on the walkways and places to stop to eat/use the toilet etc. The enclosures seemed really nice to me, the animals weren't pacing and seemed really relaxed in general. There are some peacocks roaming around as well, which is pretty cool too.
All in all this was a great experience, and considering you can spend your entire day here and see all these beautiful animals this was definitely money well spent. I would always recommend!

That’s a huge park with very respectful and friendly way of treating animals. There is enough space for them as I can see. It doesn’t feel like a zoo. It’s more a window to a wildlife sanctuary. Even in winter you can find a restaurant to have some food. Meanwhile the infrastructure is really nice and well planned. There are parking, rest rooms, shops - everything that you may need after a long trip to this place. For sure this experience is worth it.

Love this place. Seeing the animals as you drive was great then another whole part to walk.. need at least 3 hours if not more.. we went early amd was not to hot.. the hotter it get the more the animal stay in the shade. Also saw the flimgos being feed at 2pm was great so close . My 3 year old loved it.. but got tired on the walk part
June Murphy — Google review
The place is amazing. You can see alot of animals roam free. I highly recommend checking the feeding times of the animals, because that is the best time to visit them. You often see animals directly on the road. Be aware that the food isn't anything special at the place.
Venelin Dimitrov — Google review
We went in April 2023, in the morning. You should book in advance and you’re given an entry time (tolerance of 15-30 minutes if I remember correctly) - the website has all the info:
There are 2 parts. One visited inside the car (wild animals):
The wild animals were moving freely, but very visible since the food is next to the road where the cars circulate.
The animals looked “happy”, although bears and lions were sleeping (maybe their natural way).
The second part:
The park which can be visited on foot is very big, things distance apart, so be ready to use your shoes 😊
The restaurant has several options, including healthy ones. There are several coffee and ice cream shops around the park, with snacks, etc.
Regarding activities here (feeding animals, etc), there were not too many, nor information was very clear/ helpful. This is something to improve in my opinion.
I understand it’s intended to simulate a natural habitat , so I like that this is respected
Sandra Ventura Lopes — Google review
Best zoo/animal reserve experience that we’ve ever been to. The animals look healthy and happy with plenty of room to roam. This is what a zoo should be like. The staff is friendly and the experience itself was amazing. Definitely recommend even if it’s out of your way. Well worth the trip and would love to go back.
Zachary Huisman — Google review
The visit started out with a very long 40 minutes car queue to enter. We had already purchased our tickets, as requested in their website, but we noticed most cars hadn't. Hence the wait.
The first part of the tour is through the outer spaces were animals are free in the environment and visitors must be in their cars, with windows closed. To our astonishment, people lowered the car windows, offered food to animals, screamed at the animals and some even got out of their cars to photograph them. NO ONE FROM THE PARK DID ANYTHING. We were amazed.
Besides, the bears area had 3 bears only; we could only see 2 rhinoceros and lions were lying down in a space limited by an electric wire (over 10 meters away from the road)
Afterwards, we did the walking tour. We expected many more species and animals, larger spaces for them, but no. Animals are caged in spaces that evidently don't allow them to run or exercise as they would in the wild (so it feels more like a zoo than to a reservation).
The Vivarium doesn't have many species either.
It is a nice experience for kids, but we expected a lot more for the entrance fee.
Restaurants and snack bars are available in the walking area of the park, but food IS EXPENSIVE! And quality is not great. But I must say that fries were awesome!
Les 9 Écluses de Fonseranes is a popular tourist destination that features a series of canal locks consisting of 9 flights. Visitors can witness the fascinating operation of the locks and enjoy stunning views of Beziers. The location also boasts an interactive cinema and restaurant at its visitor center. While there may be little shade, it offers an interesting experience for children with great toilets and a store available on site. A short walk away lies a water bridge, similar to those in photos.
Wonderful place to visit, kept very clean. You can picnic and there are boat rides and the little train comes too. Restaurant/bar at the top of the hill.
(7 of the 9 original locks remain functional).

Impressive to see boats going up 30 meters in a matter of hours.
Somewhere along the canal there's a boat rental for amateurs which leads to an entertaining amount of struggling newbies. Not much to do otherwise except getting ripped off by the only restaurant there.

A beautiful walk along the canal du midi leads you to the locks. There is a great cafe which you can watch the boats going through the locks and enjoy a delicious glass of wine! The tourist train leaves from here and for €8 it’s well worth the trip as it weaves through the streets of Béziers.

Was actually sailing the boat and it is really cool to go down it.
The lock keepers guided us through it as it was our first time going through several locks at a time.
If you are on foot it might be a little less entertaining but it is still worth seeing.

Nice locks, the best thing was the tourist train into Béziers. You can easily access and park here, then take the tourist train into the center of the city. Béziers is busy and brutal to drive into for a visit, using the tourist train from here made it easy to also see the centre of town

We took our Dutch barge through on our own with no other boats and what an experience ! After coming down the mighty Rhône…and through the Étang in quite windy weather, this was absolutely the highlight of the journey. It was amazing. Lauren the lock keeper was so helpful with information. All in all it was an unforgettable moment to pass through these locks of historical engineering built by men and women hundreds of years ago. Allows boats to be raised 21.5m (71ft) over a distance of 300m (980ft).

Great place to visit and see how the locks work and great views of Béziers. Amazing to see how the same method is still being used today. Well worth the visit. If you visit the Restaurant at the top BEWARE the service is terrible, very slow and unhelpful we even had a server roll his eyes at us... But the food and views are fantastic.

Aqualand Cap D'Agde is a waterpark with slides that swirl and plunge from great heights. Swimmers can have lots of fun racing each other on the playgrounds and splash pads around the park. The enormous pool is a place to just relax and soak up the French sun. Green lawn extends throughout, and you'll see sunbathers lounging anywhere, to take in the magnificent view.
Came here August 2019, Fairly over priced at €28 each. However between my party of 10 lads we had a right laugh, barely any queues and the rides were pretty awesome. Almost like reliving your youth haha. Locker and key situation is a bit daft but suppose not everything is perfect. If your in the area definitely worth a trip hence my 5star. And the waffles are to die for!!.

Reopening after covid, the restart went well.
A lot of people, sometimes long queue that makes people a bit excited; though this is acceptable. However the swimming pool was not super clean due to tree leaves falling down;
We had fun, restrictions on age could be harder on certain games that are quite challenging for young crowd.
Possible to eat onsite which is great but food quality is like McDonald’s.
Very noisy area as a lot of kids yell there :) this aqualand is very close to the beach so you would probably use it when the weather is not great, but actually it is also crowded when the weather is good. A bit outage the games still satisfies the youngest.

I imagine that this would have been a higher review if we'd been outside of Summer holiday time, but unfortunately the queues were ridiculous and we only went on two rides. The fast track system means that anyone in the normal queue has little chance of moving forwards - surely there's a compromise? Food outlets were ok, toilets were grim, lifeguards were attentive. Would consider going again at a less busy time and would definitely need fast track to make it worth while.

We went mid August. It was unpleasant all round. There were long queues getting in; once in, queues for the rides of 45m to 1hr whilst standing in the full sun; an inefficient system for the lockers; and general over-crowding. We left feeling like the owners cared more about making money than offering a great customer experience. On the plus side, there is a good selection of rides.
James Butterworth — Google review
Was a bit wary about going to the park as there have been some bad reviews, but generally this is similar to many of the other parks I've been to. Everything costs money, from the 25 euro entry, to the pictures with the parrot dude, to the rental on the sunlounger, most of which is optional (you can lay a towel out on the grass for example).
The place is popular, so be aware that you will have to queue upwards of 30 minutes for the better rides. Each ride has two queues, one to collect a mat or inflatable, and then another on the steps to the ride entrance. 20 euros or so gets you a VIP fast pass, and given that the day will cost you over €120 (for a family of 4) it kinda makes sense to invest. You skip the first queue, but not the second, but could save you well over an hour across a busy day.
A meal (think lightning fast McDonalds) will set you back €15, but it's decent quality fast food.
We spent 5 hours or so in the park, and really enjoyed it.
Be aware that they have a strict policy about baggy shorts and cotton t-shirts that can't be worn on the rides (lycra Ts are fine)..
Doogie K — Google review
Overcrowded during my visit. Slides are ok, but waiting 30-45 minutes for a slide took the fun out of it. The children's pool water was not heated like the other pools were. Some pools were also full of leaves and dirt.

We went for the first time with the family in June. The kids absolutely loved it which, lets face it, is the main thing. I think the ticket price was ok for a full days entertainment. We got stung for a bit extra for using the sun beds. It does state the charge on the bed but I’ll be honest I didn’t notice. June was good as it wasn’t too busy. We will go again probably, but off season. Thanks
The Cathedrale Saint-Cecile of Albi is a Gothic cathedral built in the 13th century. It features a bell tower that stands 78 meters high and houses notable frescoes and painted chapels. The cathedral is considered one of the most beautiful in France, constructed using only bricks making it the largest brick building in the world. Its richly decorated interior spans more than 18,500 square meters of paintwork.
Only when you stand at the foot of the church do you feel its grandeur and majesty. However, inside, you are more and more overwhelmed with its architecture. Located right next to a flower garden as well as the river Tarn, you can visit Albi by walking to the riverbank and crossing the ancient bridge. It was such a peaceful and wonderful experience. This is a destination not to be missed and is sure to put Albi on your list of places to visit when visiting the Occitane region of France.

One of the most extraordinary churches I have ever been in. The hand painted murals (and you are told there are 18,500 sq metres of them) are just wonderful - so detailed and so colourful - and so vast! I found the geometric one's fascinating - so precise and clever - given the tools available when they were painted. Do pay the 5 Euros for the audio tour - and click through all the suggestions - enough of what they say is interesting to make it worthwhile. The cathedral was also an oasis of cool and calm in the very hot spell we had earlier this month. Do visit - you will not be disappointed!!!!! (I've added a few photos but you need to visit to get the full grandeur!

The biggest building in the world made from red bricks. The majestic cathedral was built in 13-14 centuries to show the power of the Catholic Church. Today it’s an absolutely breathtaking experience. You can almost literally touch Albi’a history conserved in stone. You can see two parts of it. The first one is available with no charge where you can see the organ and amazing patters and paintings. Then the second half of the cathedral includes a museum exhibition - so here you need a ticket - where you’ll see the treasury of the past and lots of interesting things. The rest of the church is a collection of mystery, murals, symbols and a pure wonder. I hope you’ll enjoy it. There is an audio guide available if you are so interested.

The Sainte-Cecile Cathedral of Albi offers free entry to the church nave, while access to the choir, gallery, and treasure trove exhibit requires a ticket, which comes with a helpful audio guide available in multiple languages for just a few euros. Tickets can be conveniently purchased inside the church. The cathedral itself is absolutely extraordinary, holding the title of the largest brick structure in the world. Constructed using bricks sourced from the clay of the nearby Tarn River, it stands as a testament to the Christian crusaders' victory over the Celtic people who once inhabited the region. Exploring the cathedral with the audio guide was a valuable learning experience, and I appreciated that my son was given a free audio guide. Visiting the Sainte-Cecile Cathedral of Albi is truly an unforgettable sight.

A truly spectacular cathedral. Honestly, all I could say when I walked in was, "Wow!". The paintings are spectacular, with several lovely small things to note, such as the rhyming prayer mural in one of the side chapels. The choir is just incredible, and I heartily recommend paying the 6€ fee for entering inside it with the guided audio tour. I've never seen stonework like it, and I've been in a vast number of cathedrals all over Europe. It's almost lace-like in structure. The treasures are well worth the effort of climbing the stairs too, if you're capable. The embroideries are fabulous and the exhibits are well thought out and documented. We were sad to miss hearing the organ play as we arrived at the end of Sunday Mass and it really is an incredible instrument to behold, with the widest case in the whole of Europe, taking up the entire width of the nave. Even if you've seen other cathedrals with painted interiors, I promise you that you've never seen anything quite like Albi. Most definitely worth a visit.

Pl. de la Comédie is a public square located in the heart of Montpellier, France. This spacious area is surrounded by many notable buildings and landmarks, such as the opera house, the fountain of the Three Graces, and numerous cafes and restaurants. It serves as a popular gathering place for tourists and locals alike to relax or take part in various events throughout the year.
Seaquarium is a state-of-the-art marine life center that boasts 200 species of sea creatures including sharks, rays and seals bred on site as part of their protection program. It has well-maintained tanks, toys, and awareness programs for visitors to learn about the different species. One of the highlights is the interesting story about monk seals.
We had an amazing time, and despite visiting on Easter Sunday, it did not feel crowded. There is lots to see, an almost endless variety of creatures, and loads of information in both French and English. We were lucky enough to catch the seal show, which is at random times to ensure that they do not fall into a routine and get bored. The tunnel, the big tank, all amazing. Buggies and wheelchairs were all well catered for with ramps and lifts. There was even an egg hunt as it was Easter day!

Lovley aquarium with loads of exhibitions, and nice to have it catered for with English signage also. Reasonably priced. Seal viewing area lovley inparticular to just watch them. Had no idea times they were fed though :(
Highlight of the holiday was getting to stroke the sharks!
But it was super crowded initally, especially, sure people spread out as you explore (eventually), but initially it was over whelming the amount of people and prams and bags squeezed into small spaces... Was ready to leave and im not especially claustrophobic either.

It's a nice place to spend time with kids or anyone who's interested in underwater life. For 16€ for an adult, you can see sharks, rays, huge turtles, different fish, other sea creatures and seals. The place is full of information about sea life, endangered species, water pollution puzzles for curious minds. The day I visited the seaquarium, there was a quest for children : they got a task at the entrance and had to look for clues around the aquarium. So their time there wasn't just wondering around and watching fish. There's a parking next to it and a few places to eat. The photos I post can't show the real beauty of the place, so go and check it yourself 🤗

Great Aquarium for a 2-hour visit! Plenty of activities for kids, clean and tidy aquariums. The fish look healthy and well taken care of. The entrance fees are reasonable for what you can see and do. There are some booths for pictures, an area where you can touch mini-sharks (highly recommended, really cool experience also for kids as they cannot bite). Overall a nice experience and time well spent! Really educative especially with regards to sensibilisation to waste in the oceans.

The aquariums were very beautiful. Especially the sharktunnel was our favourite place. We went there at about 13h and it was not too busy. But after an hour it became very busy and afterwards there was a long line to enter. Very happy we were out, because while it became busier it felt very crammed. We went with our littles ones (4y old and 1y old) and it was just right for them. Although, I find the price a tiny bit too expensive for how old the place looks. I hope they can renovate it bit by bit too make the place better.

A huge territory with free entrance, arranged picnic areas, interesting information about the species next to the aviaries. A bus stop just in front of the zoo. But the most of the territory is closed ( 05.08.2022), so there's no much to see. Coming to the zoo to see about 10 species was disappointing.

We last visited in 2018, and it's so sad to see the collection much reduced due to financial constraints. It's a wonderful zoo to visit, free, plenty of nice walkways in woodland settings. Coming from a zoo industry background it's a shame to see it in its current state and can only imagine it will get smaller over time.
We probably won't visit again due to the limited collection held now. I feel for the keepers who have seen their animals sent to other zoos. Go of you're in Montpelier, as it's still a nice walk around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Amazing zoo with lots of the big animals, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras. It's also good that only one side of each enclosure has a viewing area leaving a quieter area for the animals. It's also totally free!
The Towers and Walls of Aigues-Mortes is a magnificent medieval monument that offers fantastic views over the courtyards of the town. It was built in the 13th century and is an important part of Aigues-Mortes' history. The accommodation at Au Coeur des Remparts is air conditioned and has free WiFi. There is also a bar with a permanent DJ, as well as a disco outdoors facing the walls.
A must see when in the area. Very well organised, super safe and yet super exciting. The walk along the tops of the city walls make a perfect loop around the town and includes four or five towers that you can go up for spectacular views of the surroundings. We did the walls first and then finished in the impressive Constance Tower which is the largest and oldest building, dating from 1248. Great memories and great value for money!

Fun walk around the ramparts of the town. It costs €8 per adult and children are free. Tickets can be purchased from the booth near the entrance. There was a small queue when we visited.
It takes between 60 and 75 minutes to walk the perimeter.

Very, very pleasant surprise. Much more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
Tom Speight — Google review
Excellently preserved city walls. Their size is enormous - I estimate that the longer side of the rectangle can be app. 500 metres. There are 15 towers plus the Constance Tower along the walls.
Inside the town you can find plenty of restaurants and boutique shops.
I recommend to take the audioguide and listen to the interesting history of Aigues-Mortes.
Maciej Żebrok — Google review
Nice city encircled by a wall built in the 1300s. You can visit the dungeons and walk around the wall. It has a nice view over the village and over the outside: you can see the pink saline water, the salt piles, the Rône, and a lot more!
There are plenty of videos and animations all along the wall that explain the history. These videos/animations are in french and have English and German subtitles which I found very good. France usually only shows everything in french.
Tip: do not visit during weekends because it gets very full and you should buy your tickets online because there is a big slow queue at the ticket shop.

Aigues-Mortes is a stunning, historically fortified city in southern France's Camargue area. Located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, it is known for its iconic medieval walls and towers dating back to the 13th century, perfect for sightseeing and exploration!
Philippe Quentin — Google review
Huge walled city, even bigger than my beloved Carcassonne. The wall and ramparts built in the mid 1300s are extensive. It has a great view over the surrounding pink salt lakes water, the Rône, and the sea. Very busy though and lots of tourists (to be expected). Driving here not recommended, we cycled. Boutique shops and restaurants within the walls over priced (23 € for two beers and two cokes).

Nice to see the tallest bridge -336,4m- in the world. The best part is that you can see it from underneath. This gives you the best view of how tall it is. Absolutely amazing. There is also the possibility to have a guided tour.
suzana r — Google review
Spectacular. Tallest bridge in the world (as measured by height of span). Worth taking a day out to visit it. It can be seen for miles. Be sure to drive both under and over. Also, be sure to visit the viewing point and visitor centre at the North end of the bridge. No pedestrian access. If you're bon the motorcycle, be ready for gusts.
Brian Kennan — Google review
A truly magnificent place. The drive from Montpellier is just over 1 hour. You don’t need to do the u-turn like google says, just past the bridge going north there is an exit to the visitor center. We recommend arriving early and walking the trail for picture perfect views of Millau, the bridge, and the visitor center. No food onsite, but bring a lunch or snack and enjoy at picnic tables with an amazing view.

The Musée Soulages in Rodez, Aveyron, is a modern art museum showcasing the works of renowned artist Pierre Soulages. The museum's impressive contemporary architecture blends seamlessly with its surroundings. It houses a collection of paintings, etchings, and prints by Soulages, as well as temporary exhibitions featuring artists like Picasso.
How can this not be 5* from everyone???? This is a holy trinity of a beautiful building, holding magnificent art, and best of all, all built and opened during that artist lifetime and with his approval (he donated the art, after all). It is magnificent. The best art/architecture day that I can ever remember spending. Certainly the greatest modern art museum that I have ever visited (and I have been around!). Bravo Pierre Soulages, Bravo Rodez.
Richard Pott — Google review
Beautiful museum and stunning permanent exhibition. The audio guide that costs 4 euros is woefully inadequate. Whilst the information is good, it is really difficult to follow as the displays are not in an obvious order so not easy to follow the works chronologically. Also out of date and the commentary speaks of M. Soulage in the present tense.
Sarah Ewing — Google review
Beautiful museum displaying some of Soulage's most impressive masterpieces. The architecture of the space pays tribute and highlights the artist's work. I highly recommend.
Charles Marty — Google review
We just left the museum, feeling more frustrated than anything. Half of the scenography is so stupid! Some rooms are very dark and his work is behind glass panels most of the time. It is only lit by terribly oriented spotlights, creating a huge amount of reflection that completely ruins your appreciation for his work.
Honestly they couldn't have gone for a worst scenographic choice.
However, his work is still fascinating and the collection is quite generous.
I just hope to rethink their lighting plan at least! ;)
Max Carmas — Google review
The museum itself is an impressive modern building which blends in well with it's surroundings in the town of Rodez. The works of Soulage are fascinating espeically how he came to destruture the standards of art in his time. Definitely worth the visit. Modern art may not be everybodys cup of tea so a visit is always very personal and subjective. What I found most interesting were the methods used to achieve the effects. Never thought many shades of black could be so beautiful.
Fiona Charonnat — Google review
In 2005, Pierre Soulages and his wife Colette donated an exceptional collection of 250 works and 250 documents to the community of Rodez…. and this stunning museum is the result. Along with other temporary exhibitions as an additional pleasure, the work of Soulages can be seen and appreciated - whether it is your "thing" or not, you cannot deny the power and influence of Soulages' work and the dramatic setting in this modern museum.
Rod B — Google review
Spacious museum displaying the work of Pierre Soulages, with helpful explanations of his concepts. Particularly interesting is the section revealing his work in creating the special glass for the abbatiale Sainte-Foy at Conques, on the pilgrim route to Santiago da Compostella.
Geoffrey HARRIS — Google review
This museum is really interesting. It's not about black and white. Just try to understand the artist and you will have a great time.

Markus Fischer — Google review
Amazing museum, very unique. The art is really spectacular, especially the etchings and the "outrenoir" pieces when viewed from different angles. The explanatory texts are easy to understand, give sufficient detail to appreciate Pierre Soulages' techniques and the progression in his art. The room dedicated to his stained glass windows made for the Abbey in Conques is particularly fascinating. Highly recommended!
Steven Lanting — Google review
Amazing place. For those who know Soulages' work this is a must. For those who don't, it's amazing to discover his techniques and see how his art changed over the years.
Also, the ticket to enter de museum is valid for 1 month and you can use it to others museums in the city

breathtaking views, lots of routes to walk and explore. the routes are very well marked, it is easy to find the way and the route, unfortunately, there are garbage on the route but I blame the tourists. nature is wonderful, there are birds circling over the cliffs, beautiful fish in the water, we saw goats, wild boars and hares. Fortunately, even when it's 40 degrees Celsius, you can find some shade between the trees. There are practically no people on the hiking trails, it's not bad on the water either, but it gets dangerous when kayaking people on both banks jump into the water, it's narrow and they are afraid to jump into a kayak. Also, a lot of people walk their dogs without a leash and they are not small dogs, which is not always comfortable. unfortunately, many people also take a loud speaker with them and play techno music, which is not always pleasant for those who seek silence.

Aug 23 What's this, I don't do five stars... This place of outstanding natural beauty has to be an exception. Extraordinary landscape seen largely from a (challenging) road. Don't miss it! The only minus is the hard sell everywhere on lavender. An unexpected plus the local liqueur made from chestnuts and served with white wine. Can be difficult is some areas, ensure you have plenty of fluids for this walk and substantial snacks to see you through. Moderate to difficult in ability

Puy de Dôme is a remarkable volcano with two hiking trails and a train service leading to the summit. It also boasts a visitor center and options for paragliding. One of its most impressive features is the stunning view point at nearby Puy, which can be reached via a 20-minute walk from where you park your car.
Great place with very well done infrastructures, anyone can get to the peak with the train and there are paved road on the top for wheelchair. The view is amazing, but it could be quite foggy especially for the morning. The parking has a lot of slots and free of charge, but I did not like the crushed stone made ground for the parking, as I was concerned about my tires. There are souvenirs shops and cafe restaurants both at the ground and peak of the mountain. Absolutely worth visiting!

Wonder
rare phenomenon visible in Puy de Dômes Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne France. As the sun warms up another corner of the earth, the majestic shadow of the volcano rises like a pyramid to be reflected in the landscape and even the clouds. Gradually, a ball forms at the top of the pyramid. Would it be the reflection of the sun star itself?

Stayed for the late night openings available through July and August. We arrived at 4pm, had dinner and then took advantage of the lack of queues before heading to the Fireworks show at the end of the night. I'd advise you not to go to the show before the Fireworks or else you may not get a seat in the stand. The show was absolutely incredible. My recent visit to Vulcania was an educational and awe-inspiring experience. Situated in the heart of Auvergne's volcanic region, this unique theme park offers visitors a chance to explore the fascinating world of volcanoes.
The park's exhibits and interactive displays are both informative and entertaining, making it an ideal destination for families. From realistic simulations of volcanic eruptions to informative films about Earth's geological history, Vulcania provides a comprehensive understanding of these powerful natural phenomena.
While the attractions are fun, the educational aspect was only average affecting the overall experience. Additionally, during peak hours, the lines for certain activities were quite long, leading to extended waiting times and occasional crowding.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions and provide assistance.
Vulcania's restaurant offerings ( cafeteria/takeout) were satisfactory, providing a decent variety of snacks and meals, though the prices were somewhat higher than expected.
In conclusion, Vulcania offers a unique and informative journey into the world of volcanoes. While some aspects could use a modern update and crowd management improvements, the overall experience is worth the visit for anyone interested in learning about Earth's geological wonders.

A fantastic place, which will appeal to children (from 6 years old, say) and adults. The park continues to grow, and the attractions are innovative. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The only downside is the endless queues, to have fun, to eat, to buy... Without spoiling the visit, it takes up a good part of the day... My advice: opt for for a park + hotel package, and visit over 2 days, plus the program of certain activities changes every day!
We will come back... during the week ;)

The staff were great and the facilities were amazing with all the interaction. The only draw back was the service and quality of the food at the 2nd floor cafe. It was very poor value for the money and very poor service and food quality

Dommage.

Very nice park (especially when there are no crowds), suitable for the whole family, with great attractions and games for children, indoors and outdoors.
I found it difficult to find my way around the site despite the map and the app.
The criticism: the only option for a slightly late lunch was the snack bar, the sandwiches of which were really not great but the price was very high! (cafeteria closed and burger point too!!). Damage.

I really like what they are doing with the place and they have mostly excellent equipment and friendly staff. In the amazing planitarium the sound on the videos was too loud which made it an uncomfortable viewing experience. My 6 week old baby was in there and my wife had to cover his ears it was so loud. On the documentary about the cosmos the french dubbed voiceover is too quiet compared to the synth music which is probably why they cranked it up even further. The same volume issue exists with the animated film for kids. Its borderling dangerous for a childs ears. What a shame becuase the planitarium is amazing and the live presentation about tonight's sky was relaxing because it is softly spoken. I find the level of quality regarding animation a little weak throughout the park, with todays standards in film I think that they need to try to improve the films they already have rather than installing any new attractions.
I hope that someone reads this and at least fixes the volume problems with the films VAST and NOISETTES for the pleasure of future visitors! Thank you.

Très beau parc, beaux paysages. Il allie divertissement et présentation scientifique. Beaucoup de personnel très agréable. Le spectacle sous chapiteau avec les expériences vaut le coup.

Very beautiful park, beautiful landscapes. It combines entertainment and scientific presentation. Lots of very pleasant staff. The big top show with the experiences is worth it.

Too expensive for what you get, we paid 93 € to enter, even just a bottle of plain water at the kiosk was 3€... Mainly movies, also 3D and one 4D video but more aimed at children than adults, some of them are nice but also quite short. There are also a train and a few exhibits all showing things about volcanos . Outside there is also a little train and a park but it was incredibly cold so we were happy most of the park was underground. There were some queues.

Interesting for children.
Long wait for "normal, ascension weekend" attractions
The park's plan for following the attractions is not fun enough in our opinion.
I recommend visiting the park before going hiking with your children in the magnificent landscapes of Puy de Dôme.

This is over hyped attraction for the price we pay. More than the attraction its the garden and the plants which are more attractive. All the so called rides are either 3D, 4D or 5D movies and nothing more. 27€ for an adult is way too expensive. Kids will love it because of many attractions. Do keep in mind that many attractions are for over 0.90m and few are for kids over 1.10m height only.
Le Pal is a unique French park that combines the thrills of an amusement park with the wonder of a wildlife sanctuary. Spanning 35 hectares, it's home to over 700 animals from more than 100 different species, including lions, tigers, giraffes, penguins, and many more. The animals enjoy spacious enclosures with natural elements like rocks and waterfalls. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water rides and roller coasters without long wait times.
We spent a awesome time in this park with our 2 kids (4yrs and 6 yrs old). Weather was not good , so we had to leave earlier, but we will come back next year! Excellent park and impossible to visit for one day… we love it 😍

Great attraction animal park! Clean, nice and kind employees and much to do and see! Only when we visited a bit to long waiting time at some attractions. I hope to visit Parc le pal again in the future!

We’ve visited this amusement park during our holiday in France. The park itself is big and really nice decorated and maintained. The animals have nice and big environments. On our day of visit the park was busy, however waiting lines were reasonable. Staff was friendly and willing to help and speak English. We even charged our electric car at the parking. Overall we had a great experience!

I went to the park Le PAL with my teens, my friend and her teens🤩. It was super cool because no long queues and kids got excited to be able to go back to their favorite "attractions". No frustration😅
Very beautiful park (you make easily your 10000 steps). One part is for animals.
It was very hot but there are lots of water sprays (easy to get refreshed). You are free to bring a picnic and to eat on site.
You can find some restaurants...
I regret that water taps to fill up your bottle are placed just outside restrooms.
A place to go more than once. I met a gran-mother 82years old who did all of the attractions💪👏✨🤩

Great amusement park which combines being a theme park and a zoo in one park. The rides are attractive for a broad public as there are both simple, slow rides for younger kids and very fast rides like the Yukon quad.
The animal shows (especially the bird show) are absolutely marvellous with all kinds of birds flying over your head.

A fun combination of an animal and amusement park. They have thrilling rides for kids 1m and above and some good ones even for the littlest visitor. The rides did not have long lines even when we came in the summer which makes for a better amusement park experience with little ones. You cannot bring your own food but they have many options inside. We ate at the creperie and we loved the food.

An amazing place to visit with your kids. They have amazing rides for children and adults. They also have exotic animals to see. Bring umbrella or raincoat just in case the weather becomes crazy! Check out the Pics!

This parc is really incredible. The animals have so much room to roam around. It’s landscaped beautifully with flowers and trees throughout.
The only negative thing which major is people smoke and it’s not controlled. The whole park is non smoking except for designated areas but people don’t care.
There is a lack of signs throughout the park, signs need to be added by the hundreds to let people know and there should be some control.
This park is filled with kids and it’s often difficult to find a food line or a bench without a smoker even though it’s not legal.
I would really love for this park to focus on this one major issue.

The best place if you looking for attractions parks, after Disneyland Paris we been so disappointed so we decided to go to Le Pal , and no doubt is million times better, we spend hole day there and just regret we didn't have more time to be there more days, is a big nice Zoo there, and a lot of different roller coasters and the best you don't have to stay an hours for ride it, few minutes and you can repeat how much you want, super lively staff, we are really enjoyed and definitely coming back for stay there a few days. 1000% recommend.

Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre, 03290 Dompierre-sur-Besbre, France
Bourges Cathedral, erected in the late 12th century, boasts a remarkable design and features an extensive crypt that houses the burial site of Jean de Berry. The edifice's captivating architecture is comparable to that of Notre-Dame and there is no admission fee; visitors may make voluntary contributions towards lighting candles. The cathedral conserves some of the finest stained glass artwork, which can be examined closely to observe its layering techniques.
Art and architecture is mesmerising. Worth visiting the cathedral!

One of the most impressive cathedrals of France.
Tourist hint : it is very fresh inside, so if you are visiting Bourges on a very hot summer day, visit inside the cathedral in the middle of your trajectory.

Gorgeous cathedral, definitely worth making a stop and visiting. The inside is amazing and the immensity is breathtaking. You can buy tickets to visit certain closed areas, definitely will return for those.
Beautiful park next to it. Very calming!

A beautiful Cathedral, very impressive architecture can compare with Notre-Dame. It is a free entrance, you are invited to contribute by the lighting if a candle. Well worth a visit.

I had wanted to visit ever since reading a book on cathedrals as a teenager. Suffice it to say paper did no justice whatsoever to the awe-inspiring reality of this masterwork of French Gothic. I spent the entire afternoon there and I could have spent a week. Stunning.

Lovely spot to stop for a while. If you understand French then there are QR codes all over for a guided tour. I would have loved to have been able to pick English since my french is just marginally functional for day to day stuff so I had a hard time following it. Absolutely beautiful though.

This medieval cathedral seems to rise out of nowhere as you turn the last corner upon approach. It's very hard to describe its beauty: not only its architecture is breathtaking but its stained glass are a superb masterpiece. We couldn't climb the tower, because we lacked the time, but we visited the crypt with a guided tour (the guided tour is compulsory to visit the crypt but it's worth every penny) and it was amazing. The guide gave us a detailed history of the cathedral and the works stored in the crypt. If you are in the region, this is a must-see.

Huge and detailed cathedral, definitely worth a visit, no wonder it is number 1 in Tripadvisors travellers list.

The cathedral lacked the uplifting colours from the stained glass windows that it is famed for on bright days, today was dull. The scaffolding around the outside also spoiled the view of the wonderful exterior. Still awesome, just not at its best.

Some of the nicest preserved stained glass around. You can get right up under it to see the layering techniques as well. The adjacent garden is also beautiful. Well worth a detour.
