The House of the Wannsee Conference was where Nazi leaders planned the extermination of European Jewry. The villa now functions as a memorial museum.
It is rare to find historical sites of nazis nowadays in Germany. Definitely worth to visit, the entry is free.

A most remarkable place to visit that tells the story of a passage of history that must never be forgotten and not be allowed to be repeated.
It remains a concept of the utmost difficulty to conceive, that fifteen men could get together for a meeting the outcome of which was the "final solution".
Our visit was made all the more poignant by a missed phone call I had during our visit: it was from a friend, a gentleman in his 90s who left Vienna in the late 1930's on the kindertransport.

Such a beautiful setting for one of the worlds most horrific meetings. To see the pages of the original Wannsee protocol is chilling

This place is where I was very much able to appreciate the talent of German documentation!
The display was well explained and very well organised.
One can use the free show (which we were told was more updated compared to their audioguide) and was it well made!
The stories of the Jewish victims will surely give one the chills.
I would surely like to know more such displays to understand the psyche of the perpetrators and the plight of the victims.
Must visit!
The staff deserves a shout-out for being great hosts!

I didnt know about this place until I saw it on a history trip itinerary. I learnt a lot, it was quite overwhelming and shocking to think that men had sat in that place and discussed the removal of at least 11,000,000 people from the world.
Rachel Sales — Google review
Little part of human history. I loved museum very much.
Zoltan Fejos — Google review
The place is almost completely void of any contemporary interior. That leaves a lot of room for an intense exhibition about what actually was set in motion then, its prologue and how almost every participant got away with little to no consequences whatsoever.

Wonderful well preserved historical site of great importance.

If you’ve seen the film “Conspiracy” starring Kenneth Branagh, then this house is a must-see!
Aside from that, it’s off the beaten path, but easy enough to get to by train from Berlin. There’s a bus that shuttles from the station to the house every fifteen minutes or so, I’d highly recommend taking it.
You can expect to spend about an hour here. Easy enough to make it a stop on your way to Potsdam.
Travis McHenry — Google review
As a history student, this was a must during a visit to Berlin. Extremely informative and quite surreal to walk through the house where this conference took place.

This place is beautiful. The structure, the garden, everything is jst beautiful.
However, the exhibit is a bit sad but it's a good way to learn about history unfiltered.
Samantha Joy Cinco — Google review
This was a really great little preservation museum. It's incredibly difficult to make an engaging museum or if entirely text and no physical non-document material, but they did a good job. The main exhibition was very good, and the design was clever and we'll executed, particularly the room in which the conference was actually held. The gorgeous scenery of Wansee doesn't detract from the intensity of the history there, in fact, it almost makes it more real, seeing how beautiful the town and views are. Of course this is where such high ranking officials would meet. In addition, the temporary exhibition on rescued library materials in the upstairs was very nice. I didn't have the time or inclination to do any reading it research in the library upstairs, but it all seemed accessible and well preserved. It's odd to rate such things, but for a small museum preserving the memory of one monumental event, you couldn't do much better.
The Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum is a vast botanical garden and museum in the German capital. It is home to over 20,000 plant species from all around the world, as well as diverse gardens of medicinal plants and a large pond featuring plants from marine and marsh habitats. The gardens are open to the public year round and is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon if you're in Berlin.
Wonderful place to pass a few hours in Berlin.
Takes a bit of time to get there but for nature lovers its just great.
Lots of trees, flowers, ponds and green to admire.
The greenhouses are huge and offer a great view of plants not native to Germany.
Tickts are cheap and well worth it.
Go and enjoy.

(Christmas garden review) Lovely place with interesting light installment. Totally suitable for a date or a night out. Perfect for photo shoots as well. You need at least 1:30 hrs to walk around the whole place without rushing. I feel it's a little over priced though.

An Enchanting Oasis in the Heart of Berlin
I had the pleasure of visiting the Botanical Garden in Berlin recently, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was transported into a world of natural beauty and tranquility.
The garden's extensive collection of plants and flowers from various corners of the globe left me in awe. The well-maintained pathways meandered through lush greenery, offering a feast for the eyes at every turn. Each section of the garden has been thoughtfully organized, allowing visitors to explore different ecosystems and appreciate the diversity of plant life.
One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible Tropical House, which took me on a journey through dense rainforests. The humidity and temperature inside mimicked the authentic environment, instantly transporting me to another continent. It was fascinating to witness giant tropical ferns, vibrant orchids, and exotic palm trees up close. The sense of serenity and wonderment one feels in this space is truly indescribable.
Another feature that I found particularly impressive was the themed gardens within the complex. From the Japanese Garden, with its meticulously arranged rocks and tranquil water features, to the Rose Garden filled with a riot of colors and intoxicating scents, each area had its own unique ambiance. Walking through these themed gardens felt like embarking on a sensory journey, offering a momentary escape from the bustling city.
I must commend the knowledgeable and friendly staff who were ever-present and ready to assist with any inquiries. Their passion for horticulture was evident, as they shared fascinating anecdotes about the plants and their care. It greatly enhanced my overall experience and added an educational element to my visit.
Furthermore, the botanical garden provides ample seating areas and beautifully manicured lawns, perfect for a leisurely picnic or a moment of quiet contemplation. The combination of verdant landscapes, chirping birds, and the fragrance of blossoming flowers created a serene ambiance. It's an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, families seeking a peaceful outing, or couples looking for a romantic rendezvous amidst nature's marvels.
Lastly, I appreciate the accessibility features offered by the garden. Ramps and smooth pathways ensured easy access for individuals with mobility challenges. The restrooms and eating facilities were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable experience for all.
In conclusion, the Botanical Garden in Berlin is a true gem that should be on every nature lover's must-visit list. The sheer variety of plant species, the thoughtful organization of the gardens, the knowledgeable staff, and the overall serenity of the place make it a haven in the heart of the city. It’s an oasis where one can unwind, find inspiration, and connect with nature in a truly immersive way. Highly recommended!

Green haven in Berlin – a botanical garden that's a true masterpiece. The star is an enchanting orangery, a showcase of diverse plants that dazzle the senses. Amid waterfalls and lush flora, it's a cool respite on hot summer days. And don't miss the nearby beer garden, a perfect spot to relax between exploring the park and the mesmerizing orangery. Whether you're a plant lover or seeking tranquility, this garden is a must-visit gem.

Well worth the money! I and my boyfriend spent more than 3 hours there and would have spent even more if the garden wasn't closing soon.
The garden was close to bus stops which was practical, it was nice to roam the garden even though it was raining, visiting the greenhouses was included in the price of a regular ticket (!), everything was well-maintained, there were free (and pretty clean) bathrooms in the garden and the greenhouses, the staff we talked to was nice, there wasn't too many people anywhere (although that could have been because of the rain) which was appreciated.
It'd be nice if there was more maps and directional signs scattered throughout the botanical garden as it is huge and a bit hard to navigate, and also if there were English names (not just Latin) and English informational signs next to the plants (there were some English signs in the greenhouses but not in the outside garden). Some parts of the garden and greenhouses were closed off, but since it's so vast there, there was so much other stuff to see.
Anyway, would love to come back again! So many parts we didn't get to see yet and I bet it'd be fun to come here again. :)

Special place, worth visiting while in Berlin. Impressive collections, huge area; especially interesting are naturally green houses - warm and humid climate with waterfall and calming sounds…

Amazing place. Full ticket is 6 euros, for kids and students it's 3 euros. Totally worth it. Lots of stuff to see inside. A lot of different species. Also you can see some aquariums. The park outside is also amazing. Very big with tons of green and paths.

Unique experience. Sincerely didn't expect so much beauty at one place. It is the biggest collection of trees, plants and flowers so well taking care of. I spent 4-5 hours there and it was worth it.

It was a very pleasant surprise to discover how beatiful and interesting this place can be. Very well maintained and with a wide variety of plants from all over the world, you can easily spend at least 3-4 hours visiting the greenhouses and gardens.

One of my favourite places in Berlin and the perfect place to go and find a slice of paradise in what is already a fantastic city. If you are in Berlin and the sun is shining, you don’t want to miss this.
Flora from all over the world and a variety of wildlife to see.

Well worth a visit to the greenhouses, even in Autumn. Massive, extensive glass houses, like being in the jungle! Beautiful gardens outside, would love to see them in the Spring too. Nice little cafe for hot drinks and eats.
chris Fostinis — Google review
Magnificent! The biggest greenhouse I have ever seen in my life. The plants are well presented by different zones. The collection of cactus is impressive. The building itself is nice. Unfortunately, the Botanic museum is closed for renovation and we have not walked in the garden because of the rain, but the greenhouse itself is worth visiting, and the price of 6 euros is really very moderate for the volume. And it is open on Monday when the majority of museums are closed.
mariia s — Google review
In early April not much is yet happening outside, but the green houses are very interesting and beautiful! They are also quite big, so it's a nice walk inside a warm humid green environment, while it's cold and windy outside )
Olena Kotukhova — Google review
Freaking love it! Thinking about changing my career now, because working in all floral parts of the world must be amazing and so relaxing.
Pack some snack and a camera and enjoy what the world has to offer. But be careful with the plants! Some are real sensitive and some are even toxic. How amazing is that!

As a plantlover, this is a must visit place in Berlin. The Botanical Garden offers different great green areas to have a walk, greenhouses, and a museum to visit. For me, the highlight is definitely the greenhouses. There are lots of interesting plants inside waiting to be discovered. I really like the cactus area.

If in Berlin a visit to the wall is a must.Checkpoint Charlie was the most famous access point and you will be able to get souvenirs and your picture taken here as a record of your visit. Berlin’s Botanic Garden is truly large and diverse with 20 000 different species of plants on 43 hectares. Some of the paths are under construction, but the stroll is nevertheless rewarding. Several clean toilets are available. Very worth the visit even when the weather is bad, thanks to the several greenhouses. They are well maintained and the routes are nicely guided. Although The Botanic Garden is not centrally situated, it is easily reached with U- or S-Bahn. The day ticket costs 6 euros.

Beautiful, calm and serene place with so many plants!! Soms constructions are taking place currently but that did not make it any less nice. Amazing visit, especially in spring and summer.

The botanical garden in Berlin is an enchanting oasis boasting an incredible variety of plants in diverse microenvironments. Exploring the expansive greenhouses was a journey through different climates, each displaying a stunning array of flora. Outside, the park surrounding the garden was equally captivating, with a multitude of plant species and majestic trees. We also spotted two foxes! A truly unforgettable botanical experience in the heart of Berlin. 🌿🦊🍺

Oh Boy, where do I start. Unfortunately, the european part and the garden house we're the only Open parts when we visited but with the reduced price of 3€, it was so worth it. It was so amazing to See the different plants and really feel the different climats as they are all represented pretty well. Such an interesting place and No too far away from the Center.
Definitely worth a visit :)
MeliodasSF — Google review
Nice place where you can spend almost the whole day with your family , friends or maybe alone. It's a large place so please take some food and water which keeps you energetic. Diverse species plants here and there are also several greenhouses and a museum. If you are a plant-lover then go with it. It's a magnificent place. I love the cactus area and also the greenhouse.
Note: Take your student card because they have offers for students.
tabassu — Google review
The greenhouse gardens (glasshouses) alone were well worth the small entrance fee (4€)! It didn't bother me that most of the outdoor gardens are temporarily closed for renovations right now on my visit, since it's the off-season and there isn't much plant-wise to see outside anyway. They are separated by climate zones but also then by country and plant categories. This is the 2nd largest botanical garden in the world, which is noticeable in the large grounds and very extensive and well-laid-out collection of plants from around the world. Impressive! The cacti collection is quite large too.
A lot of the plants from different zones were blooming; they were healthy and well-maintained. There were also smaller houses with begonias, Japanese plants, carnivorous plants, plants and their uses, etc.
Be aware that while there were some signs with interesting information, almost all of them, and all the plant names, are in German (and Latin for the names) only!!
Highly recommended for plant lovers and those who want a little peace and quiet!
Castle filled with art & history, purported to be Germany's oldest, overlooking the River Elbe.
Beautiful castle, the exhibition inside is also very interesting and well arranged. You have both German and English available to read/listen through the visit. I can only recommend!

This is an excellent castle. Situated at the top of the hill next to the cathedral. The rooms are simply breathtaking, lots of information to read and if you do read it all you could be here a couple of hours. A good quality cafe Nd toilets also on site

Oldest castle in Germany. Nice walk from the town square although it's steep uphill. The outside is great next to the cathedral, but the interior is the showstopper. Impressive arches

2€ to take pictures and 3€ to have the pad with historical information. I cannot accept that. But it is a Stunning castle. I appreciate the presence of stairs but olso lift so everybody can visit it. Awesome to walk all around and then to take a walk on the river so you can see the breath taking views from different prospective. This is awesome. I love the contrast between the sky and the castle. Many parking spots around but you must pay.
Da Maris Siramad — Google review
Worth visiting the museum. It costs 10€ Per person. There are basically 3 floors which includes historical architectures, ancient antique collections and castle infrastructure
We need at-least 1-2 hours to go through everything
Sushmitha Nagesh — Google review
12€ per person, it has 3 floors to visit, you can see the city from all sides as ot has windows everywhere 😅, it's been refurbished to the smallest details - as in it's too much - it's like a modern building with SOME old parts still visible in the castle's walls. They've exaggerated with the technology they've put inside this place.
When you say "CASTLE" you'd expect to see a very old building in extraordinary design and OLD features, it doesn't has that castle feeling/vibe/look. It's just a modern building with SOME items displayed. Hence my 3* review.
The Zwinger museum features a carillon, porcelain collection and exhibits on historic scientific instruments. The palace is also home to three museums - one dedicated to classical music, one with exhibits on art and history, and the last focused on natural sciences.
The Zwinger is a really beautiful place housing a really nice museum that contains statues and art. It is definitely one of the places you simply cannot miss in Dresden.
Doge Colony — Google review
The Zwinger complex is incomprehensible until you’ve visited! You have no idea how grand it is until you’re there. We visited the grounds and the Old Masters Picture Gallery. Even though the grounds are getting worked on, the architecture is impressive enough to appreciate its grandeur. We really enjoyed the gallery as well.
Anne H — Google review
Unfortunately, during our visit, the courtyard was being renovated - with the entire thing having been dug up. The buildings are still impressive and the architecture is interesting. It's a huge building with multiply attractions. The place is a combination of a baroque palace, museums, an art gallery, a park, a terrace, with fountains, stairs sculptures.
A beautiful place to discover, learn and relax.. An absolute must see in Dresden!
Smiley Videography — Google review
Would have given it 5 stars but most of the inner garden was under construction. Lots to see as you walk around from stone carving to great views from the top of the walls. Lots of places to stop and admire the views and onions dorms and the very impressive chiming clock would like to call back when the garden works have been completed

Very beautiful baroque historical place. Beautiful view, garden, lake. Good place for spending time with the family, friends or just to find a bench and spend time with yourself . And it’s a perfect place for photo session . We went there when it was reconstruction’s works . Exciting to see that next time when they will finish renovations. If you’re planning to visit Dresden it’s a must have place to visit.

Europe's most important baroque palace complex - and currently also a massive construction site. It is of course magnificent - but it would've been nice the Dresden website had a heads-up about the current state of the courtyard. Must visit - but especially when it's finished!

The Historic Green Vault is a museum in Dresden, Germany, that displays some 3000 valuable objects from the 16th to the 20th centuries. The museum is divided into old and new sections, with the old section dedicated to the original collection and the newer acquisitions. The Historic Green Vault is perfect for people who don't like museums as it has a large collection of artwork and cultural treasures from throughout history.

Dazzling display of wealth. This is a must see in Dresden. Timed entry is required, and you can’t take any pictures in the old green vault. All the pictures are from the new green vault. I’d say the old green vault is worth it because it’s even more luxurious than the new one.

I paid 16 euros for entrance only for old and new Grüne Gewölbe parts.
It was worth everything because the old grüne gewölbe part was impressive. They have a big jewellery collection.
Not allowed to take photos. you can only pass the security door to enter the old grüne gewölbe. for a few people can visit the rooms. There are 7 special rooms.
When I got there the ticket was almost finished then I bought a late-hour ticket that was 2 euros more expensive than the normal one.
And they sell tickets limited I highly recommend buying tickets as many as earlier.

3. White Silver room
4. Silver gilt room
5. Hall of Precious Objects - stucco ceiling, rock crystal, ostrich egg
6. Coats of Arms Room
7. Jewel Room
8. Room of Bronzes
9. Room of Renaissance Bronze
The circuits lasts approximately 1.5 hours with no seats available until the last room and Ante-Room. No photographs are allowed inside the museum.

I have to say, it's worth the money but don't rush, take your time and spare some.
The location is quite deceiving, I did not expect much when I entered but man was I in for a shocking surprise.
When I entered I did not expect much, but, weeeewwww! This place is a sight to behold. The history is beautiful, it's just amazing what is inside and what you learn in those few hours you take to move around.
It has a mix of slightly modern with old architectural designs and items inside. Do wear some flat and flexible walking shoes it will take a while to explore. To recommend it? Yep, I recommend it 100%.
Will I go back?

Part of one of the moat richest treasury in Europe. You do get an audio guide which explains you everything, so you do not need a guide to show you around. They have so many mind blowing collections of all kinds of gemstones, ivory collections, gold decor and the famous green diamond which is the main part of attraction here. They also have the golden model of the court from Moughal emperor Aurangzeb, which is so delicately and nicely explained. It took me 10 minutes to go through all those minute details. It is one of its kind. Do not miss the chance to see and admire the famous Green diamond.

A very rich collection of jewelry and other items in a beautiful palace design. It is rather correct that voids are left in those places, where treasures lost during WWII.

Unfortunately, there is not allowed to make photos inside. But you can see pictures on Google Map or in internet. There are 9 halls which are very different, but all of them are very interesting and just fantastic. 3 of the total 9 halls of the Green Vault, which are located on the side of the Palace courtyard, were completely destroyed in February 1945 and then were made again based on photographs and drawings. Entrance is limited, and it is better to buy tickets beforehand. The entrance fee is 14 euros

We went to the 'new green vault' as it has the best parts of the collection. Was very worth while as you spend a few hours inside. The audio guide comes free so don't forget to pick this up as it makes the museum more enjoyable.
The Fürstenzug (Prince's Procession) is a large porcelain mural in Dresden, Germany. It tells the history of Saxon rulers throughout the ages.
One of the best places to visit in Dresden. Also if you want to catch the moment you need to wait.

Truly a spectacle. 🌟 The intricate details behind this artwork is enough to stop you in your tracks and simply appreciate the workmanship for a good 20-30 mins. 🙌🏼
Plenty of tourists typically walk along this street, so don't waste an opportunity to get a clear photo when there's nobody around! 📸

Loved it! It is the best and at the same time simplest way to enjoy the history in Dresden. Walk through the history of Saxon simply by walking by this piece of art.
I cannot put it into words how interesting it was, especially if somebody plays some nice music in the background.
It's also located at the heart of Dresden with very easy accessibility to a lot of restaurants and Frauenkirche.
It'd be great to take a walk in the area every morning and have a headstart every day.

The fact that something this impressive just casually exists in the center of Dresden is just incredible. Fürstenzug is absolutely a must-visit in this city - luckily, you don’t have to travel out of your way to see it. It is located right in the center of town, near many other famous sights in the city. If you visit in wintertime (like I did), you’ll find half a dozen Christmas markets within 5-10 minutes walking distance from Fürstenzug. It is an amazingly intricate and beautiful mural that puts pretty much any others I’ve ever seen to shame! Check this out next time you’re in Dresden - you will be amazed!

As a woman who recently had the opportunity to admire the "Procession of the Princes" mural, I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. This stunning work of art, stretching over an impressive 102 meters, masterfully captures the history and grandeur of the Saxon rulers. The intricate details and vivid colors of the porcelain tiles create an awe-inspiring visual journey through the centuries. Standing before this magnificent piece, I felt deeply connected to the past and gained a newfound appreciation for the craftsmanship and artistic talent that went into creating such a monumental masterpiece. The "Procession of the Princes" is undoubtedly a must-see for anyone interested in the rich cultural heritage of Saxony.
The Frauenkirche Dresdens rebuilt after World War II is a stunning example of baroque architecture and offers guided tours. Bach played an inaugural organ concert in 1736, and the church dedicates many concerts to his music.
A unique, magnificent view of Dresden that takes the tiredness of climbing up individual steps and narrow corridors to that church. To be loved, to be admired. This baroque style church, which remained a war memorial for fifty years, fascinates with its magnificence.

Beautiful church to visit. Cost is free to go into the church. You can ascend to the dome for 10 euro. Well worth it. 70 meters high (221 ft) to viewing area. I counted 304 stairs descent with 300 meters of spiral climb (non steps)

What a marvelous church and rich history that comes with it. It was bombed and destroyed during WW2 by ally forces and left in ruin during the communist rules. Then, the church was rebuilt in 8the 1990s and stands firm as a witness of history.
The lady staff holding an album of the historical photos near the front area was extremely helpful by explaining its history to visitors. Highly recommended!

Iconic and historically significant, the church feels light and cheerful. I visited for a baroque music concert and enjoyed the acoustic and atmosphere.
Pravčická Archway, a stunning natural sandstone formation, is a popular scenic site that requires a 5km uphill walk from the paid parking or bus stop. The entrance fee is around 4 EUR and credit cards are accepted. The area offers good amenities and breathtaking views, making it perfect for a sunny day excursion. However, it may not be ideal during windy or rainy weather due to its exposed location.
Very beautiful place, even in winter time, quite easy to reach even for kids. Absolutely amazing view and very interesting geological case, plus you can get a coffee right under the gate. A small gallery, where you can find impressive photos of the place in different seasons of the year is worth of visiting too.

Long uphill walk of about 5km to get there from the paid parking or bus stop. Good condition needed. About 4 EUR to get in (credit card accepted). Good amenities. Still somewhat reasonable prices. Don't buy sugary drinks; the wasps will enjoy it ... You probably not. Stunning views around, so allow for over half an hour once inside to get to each of them and enjoy the view. Great for a sunny day. Likely not for windy days with rain, as the views are really out in the open.

An excellent spot for some walking! The place offers a beautiful nature and the building itself is also interesting. Plus there is a lot of small paths on the top of the hill so a person spends some time there. The entrance ticket to the top of the hill and actually the building costs about 100 Kč so it's more like symbolic price and I gladly paid it to keep the place in a good shape.
If there is normally some restaurant at the place, it was closed. Instead of that, there was a food window outside with the some snacks, but also with warm meals. I appreciated that, since the weather outside was still cold at time of my visit and it was very handy to eat something warm. Another thing that I appreciated was that the menu was both in Czech and German, as the majority of tourists speak at least one of these two languages.
It's real shame that the national park burned down from a big part in the previous year. Fingers crossed that the nature and the trees regenerates over the next few years.

It was a 1.5h hike for me, but the view was totally worth it!! Very unfortunate that some parts of the forest got burnt some time ago, but the arch and the rest of the view were breathtaking. Highly recommended :) the ticket was 80czk for adults and 40czk for students (show isic) They closed at 4pm. The restaurant up there was very reasonably priced as well surprisingly, considering that the place is very touristic and very high up on the hills

Impressive hike to do specially during the winter. Being reward with the largest natural arch in Europe is certainly worthy the difficulty to park at the beginning of the hike.
The whole hike was pretty stepped to do but nothing extraordinary.
There's a Restaurant at the top, on a very nice building but it closes too soon during winter time, so we couldn't get something to eat. What makes sense because it's pretty difficult to come down at nightfall.
The arch itself is pretty beautiful to see and I advise to go to the highest viewpoint to have a good sight not only of the arch but also of the amazing landscape surrounding you.

A very nice place, beautiful views, although after the fire the landscape in the area was quite apocalyptic in places. The path to the entrance is rather simple, anyone can manage it.

It was a great sight, however there was a very strong smell which you could not ignore. If you are anywhere nearby (even Germany or Poland) I definitely recommend u stop by or you can plan your whole trip around it. Definitely worth it. You can make a whole day hiking day out of it or just stop by for 2 hours. It is not wheelchair accessible and if you do not like walking uphill this is definitely not for you.

Nice place to reach at the end of a hike through the forest. Beautiful sights, a place to rest and grab a drink or eat (if you get there during the opening hours). It could get crowded on weekends. Best to leave early from the parking and have time to continue the hike to other parts of the national park.
Mihail Minchev — Google review
Although parking is 3.5km away, most of the climb up is beautiful with stunning landscapes. At the end is the arch, more lookouts, cafe and an amazing old building.
There is a charge to enter the top part.

This is a very beautiful getaway from Prague / Dresden. Not much visited, because there is very little information abou how to reach there etc. I drove to the base and looked for the shortest walk. My tip: drive to parking Soutěsky. This is almost the last parking before start of the trail. Try driving further and you may save another 500 mtrs. of walking if you find a parking spot on the one of the last parking. All parking have same price of Euro 8.
Total walk from this parking is about 6 Km of which you walk about 2 Km along the highway as there are no parkings directly at the start of trail. . Walk is quiet easy and surrounded by beautiful terrain.
Take plenty of water with you on a sunny day, there are no water streams on the way and you can only buy a refill at the destination. The area was under fire some years ago, so expect no shade.
Plan a day, the place is really beautiful and the walking up alone takes easily about 2 Hrs or more unless you are fighting fit.

Beautiful hike with some of the most scenic nature in Czech! The hike up and back took about 1.5 hours, not including stopping to take photos and grabbing a snack at the top (there is a small restaurant).
As of April 2022, a wildfire devastated the area, but as of April 2023, the top remains largely untouched.
Christopher Yandell — Google review
The walk to the top was intense, but maybe that's because it was 33 degrees in full sun and we already walked and climbed for 10km before we started this specific trail.
We parked our car at Na Hájenkách (Indiánská vesnička Rosehill) where there is a small free parking place.
Then, we walked to Mezní Můstek and went right, to Divoká Soutěska and bought a ticket for the boat through the river, which took about 18 minutes. During the boat tour, the tour guide will explain things in a humorous way regarding the river area.
Then we walked to Mezná, which is a rather intense continuous climb, and continued to Tři Prameny, the starting point for the trail to Pravčicka Brána.
Its advisable to bring plenty of water in these temperatures and bring sun protection. Our total hike was 12km and took about 4 hours, including breaks. We consumed 2,5L of water each.
When we got back the crossroad Tři Prameny, we took bus line 441 back to our parking spot in Na Hájenkách. To our surprise, the ride was for free!
Tom Albers — Google review
We visited as part of a hiking tour. The walk up is moderately demanding but the last section would certainly challenge anyone with mobility issues.
It is a long steady climb through a valley of trees devastated by fires in the last few years. As such it feels beautiful but slightly bleak, at least until the end where you climb the steep steps and slopes up to the chateau. Sited alongside the Archway, the chalet style hostelry offers refreshments and toilets. Seating areas overlook the beautiful scenery below and a very short path under the arch exposes you to a breathtaking view from the edge. Another short climb takes you to a viewpoint looking across the arch, much used in postcards and the like.
The walk back down is a bit hard on the knees for those of us of a certain age, but feels easy after the climb up. The weather was good when we visited but I can imagine a strategic inclusion of layers and waterproofs is in order at other times.
A lovely and rewarding hike

If you come from Germany you can cross the border on a ferry from Schöna to Hrensko. (DB ticket works on it)
You can also experience the aftermath of wildfires last year.

Don't take this 5 star rating to be a rating that one normally gives out to other places. This is a death camp that has a very dark history associated to it. The 5 star rating is for the staff that has maintained this place. 60 kms outside of Prague, this is a must visit place. Especially for the WW2 history buffs. This place will stir your emotions.

The monument was originally built in 1790, during the reign of Emperor Josef II (who did not live to see it completed) as a fortress (a system of three fortresses that protected Prague). It was never built as a concentration camp and never served as such. During the Second World War, the fortress was used as a prison by the Prague Gestapo and thus became famous. From the first moment, if you have already visited one of the former concentration camps, you can see that it is rather a milder and "nice" place compared to the camps. Of course, I don't mean to downplay the brutality that took place here. I recommend buying at least a paper guide, there is a map on the ticket, but it is easier to go according to the numbers in ascending order. After visiting the small fortress, be sure to visit the city of Terezín and the large fortress that served as a Jewish ghetto + cafes and a hospital

My father and I did this the trip out to the concentration camp and the experience itself was quite eye opening just trying to place yourself in the shoes of what the people went though during this time. It was a humbling experience to say the least. The families lost, children that grew up never knowing their mothers and fathers as well as how the jews in particular were treated. The fact that this was allowed to happen and that people can do this is still something that is beyond me. A must do day trip if in Prague

The ŠKODA Muzeum is a museum located in a renovated production plant that showcases the history of the famous Czech auto brand through classic cars. It is an ideal destination for anyone interested in learning about Czech auto history as it offers an informative tour with knowledgeable guides. The admission rates are reasonable and there is a gift area for auto enthusiasts. In addition to the main museum, visitors can also request to see the depositary where raw gems are kept in a separate building.
Really nice place, very pleasant exposition. According to my opinion much nicer than VW museum (as that one is exposed in really heavy industry environment and seems like whole museum was forgotten in past years in Germany). At the beginning I would like to thank the lovely 🇨🇿 Czeck girl ❤️❤️❤️ who works at the Škoda Museum and who lent me few CZK to buy a little souvenir last Saturday. Even I won't see you again 💔😭 I would like to thank you for your good heart and information you gave me about the company, historical L&K factory that burned out and places in Mladá Boleslav where Škoda produces its cars. Škoda Museum should be proud to have such fantastic employees. Good things come back! 🌈
The visit in the museum was a really outstanding experience. It presents the history of the brand starting from Laurin & Klement company producing Slavia bicycles 🚲 up to newest cars 🚗.
There is a glory wall for rally trophies collected by Škoda and its drivers 🏆🏆🏆 and a place that presents how old historical cars are rebuilt and turned back into live 🔧.
Unfortunately, the visit in the factory plant was not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic 😭
In my opining Škoda should introduce a tour with foreign speaking guide in Polish language. A strong minus for that. Poland 🇵🇱 is one of most important sales market for Škoda brand.
I would also recommend the museum to show how the cars are designed and produced nowadays by using amazing materials from Škoda Storyboard webpage with designers and engineers. It is a missing part of exhibition.
A Škoda fan

What can I say? It doesn't even feel like enough stars - a mere 5. It has hands down wiped out every other zoo I've ever been to, there is simply no competition. It has interesting exciting animals (a polar bear!!!), varied species of monkey, red pandas, interactive bird cages. I could go on but I won't don't want to ruin the sheer joy and amazement you WILL experience upon going to the zoo yourself. Reasonably priced entry and incredible chairlift experience that gives you a view of the entirety of Prague for 40czk. I struggle to put it into words even now. The exhibits are interactive and incredibly educational, and well spaced. In my admittedly limited zoological understanding of spatial requirements of the various species, I must admit that it felt that all animals had plenty of roaming space and seemed very content. Meaning the exhibits are all a walkable distance and enjoyable to say the least. I myself visited as an adult with no children and yet it elicited in me childlike joy, it's also worth mentioning that I visited in extremes of weather (heat) and yet it did not hinder my experience there were plentiful refreshments, resting places, water fountains and shade. A brilliant day out for all. Considering it as a wedding venue though I've not enquired as to the price, I would personally say it's the only destination worth putting your family through.

That's the best zoo I've ever been to! A lot of different animals. You can also feel like you're at a safari, because you can come in to many cages and meet animals just next to you. I can definitely recommend this zoo to everyone. I also think that's a must-have to see while being in Prague. Just come in early, because you will need whole day to see everything! The zoo is really really huge. We've been there for 5 hours and we didn't see everything!

The Prague Zoo was a fantastic experience for our family. The exhibits were beautifully constructed and maintained, there were conveniently located and clean toilets, and there were several areas for children to play in. Nearly all of the signs included English translations, so we had no trouble even though we are still learning Czech. A number of restaurants dotted the park, offering a wide selection of food and refreshments (and for very reasonable prices). The indoor exhibits allowed us to stay relatively dry during a brief rain shower while still enjoying the park. I highly recommend this zoo and will definitely be returning in the future!

The zoo is very large and also well-kept. We were in it for more than 5 hours. Therefore, I recommend that you go to the zoo early so that you can see everything. They also have restaurants so you can get some refreshments and continue your zoo tour.

Prague Zoo is a highly recommended attraction for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. It is widely regarded as one of the top zoos in the world for its conservation efforts and high quality exhibits. This place is located on a hilly terrain with stunning views of the city. The well maintained grounds offer a pleasant experience for visitors, with several picnic areas, gardens, and playgrounds for kids. It's a must-visit destination! A great way to spend a complete day in Prague.

Amazing zoo, went early on a weekday so it was very quiet and all the animals were getting fed. Best zoo experience I've had. I feel bad for the polar bear, luckily they are building a newer and bigger polar bear enclosure soon. The food in the zoo was surprisingly good value and the bus brought us from our campsite to the entrance of the zoo which was handy. Great value and great experience!

Really wonderful visit at the zoo in the city of Prague. We spent there over 4 hours of almost constant walking and viewing and still didn't manage to see everything!🐘🐅🐅😊👍🏻 Our entire family (myself with my wide and 2 kids) had a great fun and we really enjoyed it very much. Strongly recommend it.
In addition a public transportation here in Prague to get to the zoo is also very good and comfortable.

One of the best zoo's i have visited in the summer. Great people, great place. Everything is organized. There are restaurants in the zoo near the elephant enclosures. In summer take your vitamins or glucose, you gotta walk a lot and it gets really hot. There's a reception near the entrance where you can buy the tickets or buy online if you don't want to stay in the queue. In summer and public holidays it gets crowded.

Very cute zoo, extremely diverse in species. I saw animals that I have never seen before which was awesome (and I have travelled the world). Expect alot of walking and it up and down hills.
I was pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness on the bathrooms, previously, I have found zoo restrooms not to be very clean but these were.

After 1 hour: awesome. Good prices. Nice areas for the animals. Really nice staff. A man heard that we are from Germany and talked to us in German as best as he can. But we understood everything he explained us about the turtles :)

Unless you are categorically opposed to animals in captivity, you will like this zoo. It’s one of the best out there. The area is vast. Prepare to spend half a day at least and longer if you want to see it all. The lower part (close to the river) is a bit more leafy so better to leave it for the afternoon if you are visiting on a hot summer day. The pavilions are quite modern and well-kept. Price-wise this zoo is relatively cheap compared to similar places in Europe. Definitely worth the experience.

One of the better zoos I have visited. This attraction is included as part of the Prague Cool Pass.
You should plan on spending the whole day here if you do visit sinxe there was so much to see. There is a bus stop right outside the zoo so getting to the zoo from Prague center city was very easy and convenient.
The zoo was very well designed and planned so that you can walk through the entire zoo easily without getting lost or wondering if you've been to an animal exhibit already.
There are also plenty of benches and restrooms too to rest.
There was so many fun and exciting animals to see including an opportunity to walk through the kangaroo and wallaby area. I was very impressed.
It was a great way to spend the day as it was a nice break from the historical attractions.

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Prague. Be prepared for this to take a big chunk of your day so I would recommend getting there early. Such an amazing range of animals but not massively child friendly if the chair lifts aren’t working.

Amazing zoo! Very cheap!
Enclosures are adequate for the animals, very spacious and close to their wild habitat.
Wide variety of animals, very big zoo allow plenty of time to explore and wear comfortable shoes!

The best zoo in the world. We spent 5 hours at the zoo and still didn't see everything, so expect to do a lot of walking (around 10km). We took a taxi however public transport links seem reasonably easy to use. The enclosures in the zoo are very spacious and all of the animals looked very well cared for. Our highlight was the polar bear.
S Cuthbertson — Google review
Is one of the best zoos I've been to.
The way some of the enclosures are the animals have more space and deeper pools for the animals to swim in, some of them ate better than the UK.
Some pools needed water in low.
We went out of season so most shops were closed in there,
and half the animals didn't want to come out in the cold
They were doing work in different parts but looks good to what we could see.
The park is very hilly and the views you get from it are worth the walking up hills.
There are a few different entrance points so don't get confused about where you came in to leave.
Very easy to get to by bus.
If I were to come back to Prague it would be to come back here.
If you are going to get tickets online get it from there website as others do charge more.

There are many animals that even parents can enjoy. The zoo consists of hill so when you visit you experience long walking. Nice to to especially in summer seasons.
The St. Vitus Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic cathedral located within the grounds of Prague Castle in the Czech Republic. Constructed over a period of 525 years, it features a mix of Neo-Gothic and 14th-century Gothic styles as well as Baroque and Renaissance influences. The building is especially renowned for its impressive spire which stretches skywards into the heavens.
St. Vitus Cathedral is in my opinion one of the most gorgeous Cathedral around the world. Hardly to find a word to describe the impression I always have when enter into this Cathedral which is huge inside and that you can walk half hour there or spend an hour there. This means I recommend to purchase ticket get in. Not only visit the Cathedral from the entry hall of the Cathedral, but take a walk and gain most of this beautiful Cathedral which is also nice to see outside. This Cathedral is large and siting in the Prague Castle Court rooms, and because the size of Cathedral is cross all patios of the Prague Castle. Particularly from courtroom three (patio 3) is nice view same as from the High from the Great south tower.

This cathedral is breathtaking. Situated on top of a hill, you need to put some effort to arrive here but it is totally worth. Impressive from outside and inside , you can take some time to admire its beauty from the benches inside the yard behind it. In case you want to get in, you can do it for free, but only in a limited area. A ticket is required if you want to explore it all.

Impressive place with a long and rich history, the cathedral made a lasting impression on me. Worth every cent spent on entrance fees. The grandeur, the stained-glass windows, the chapels, the stories. Lighting a candle, inviting in good energies and peace upon our beloved ones, family and friends rounded up the visit.
If you ever visit Prague and its majestic castle, you definitely have to take the tour of the cathedral as well.

St. Vitus Cathedral is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic architecture nestled within the historic grounds of Prague Castle. From its towering spires to its intricate stained glass windows, every detail of this sacred site is a testament to centuries of craftsmanship and devotion.
Stepping inside, visitors are immediately struck by the grandeur of the interior, with its soaring vaulted ceilings and majestic columns. The play of light through the stained glass creates a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors, bathing the space in an ethereal glow.
Exploring the cathedral, one encounters a wealth of artistic treasures, from the stunning mosaic of the Last Judgment to the ornate tomb of St. John of Nepomuk. Each chapel and alcove tells a story, inviting contemplation and reverence.
Climbing the winding staircase to the top of the cathedral rewards visitors with panoramic views of Prague's skyline, offering a breathtaking perspective on the city's beauty and history. To prepare yourself and dress well for this!

What an amazing cathedral! The view from up the hill over the city of Prague is superb! The cathedral is well maintained and the offer of tours is more then plenty.
The inside of the cathedral looks amazing! I absolutely love these structures. To bad you can not walk around the whole sub level of the cathedral without buying an extra ticket for that.
The square next to the cathedral, offers some nice spots to take a rest and enjoy the ambiance of the place.
Definitely worth the walk up there from the old town city center.

Impressive. The scale of the cathedral is daunting (makes you feel tiny) and the stained glasses are very colorful and lovely. Make sure to get the combo ticket (that includes objective "VIII" - the cathedral) in order to be able to get in all the way back and not just at the entrance. It is wonderfully decorated in the back.
Also, get the tower ticket (entrance to objective "X" - cathedral tower) to climb the 278 steps up in a dizzying spiral staircase (with no pit stop and used for both climbing up and down the same way). It sounds horror, but you eventually make it and it's definitely worth it. The view from up the tower is a worthy reward.

Beautiful cathedral with some of the most intricate art I’ve seen. The stained glass paintings and suspended statues in the church are incredible. The gothic architecture is worth seeing. The grounds of the palace open at 6am but you can only enter the cathedral starting at 9am. I’d recommend going early to beat the crowds.
There are bathrooms here but you need coins to use them. There is a machine near the ticket counter that lets you exchange notes for coins.

Surely one of the best Cathedrals I've ever seen.
Immense, impressive, huge.
The Gothic style that characterizes the building is truly amazing and the interiors are even better. Loved the rose windows and the pinnacles.
Take your time to properly visit the Cathedral in all its entirety because it's really worthwhile.

The most beautiful place in Prague. The Cathedral is the first thing you see when you visit the Prague Castle. Make sure you buy tickets online. They have the tickets at visitor centre but you can skip the wait if booked online. Most of the places to visit are covered in that ticket. A must must visit when in Prague. It’s a fascinating Renaissance- Baroque Architecture marvel.!
Sayali Tidke — Google review
Breathtaking stained glass that makes the room colorful. Beautiful tombs to some of the worlds most famous and prosperous religious figures and saints, decorated with silver and gold.
HOWEVER, there is very little information to be read about the attractions within. There is a paragraph of information for every 3-5 attractions which leaves you wondering about the significance behind a lot.
Even without a ticket you can roam around the entrance of the church, but won’t have access to around 70% of it, which mostly includes the main attractions within the church itself. Make sure to get the family pass if you can for your group, as you will save good money. Don’t purchase the ticket entrance just to go visit the church, as it is a relatively high ask and not worth it on its own, instead use it to gain entrance into the other attractions nearby.
Please feel free to look at the images I attached! I hope you enjoy!

The Cathedral sits in the centre of the Castle complex and is visible from all around the area. Very beautiful outside and inside. You can enter the cathedral for free, but there is a large area accessible only by ticket. There is a separate ticket for entry to the cathedral tower. Both are worth visiting. From the tower you can have a wonderful panoramic view of the city. Keep in mind to reach the top of the tower you need to go up 287 steps. It can be a bit claustrophobic.

It's an incredibly beautiful building. You can feel the energy inside, it's true there are a lot of tourists. The vintage windows give a beautiful light inside, although half of this building is fake as most of it has been destroyed. I advise you to definitely visit.

Absolutely beautiful, both inside and outside. You need to buy ticket to get in, you also need to pay for using the bathroom. Definitely worth 5 stars in terms of its view. Have to remove one because it was extremely crowded, even inside the Cathedral. There should be some sort of crowd control

Truly a “can’t miss” sight in Prague; the steps up to the tower are not too steep, few resting places, though. The view from the tower is completely worth it, and it is fairly spacious. Benches on the top inside, next to the clock mechanism. Separate charge to climb up.

A magnificent historical landmark, the cathedral and its surroundings need 3-4 hours to explore fully. We observed guard change ceremonies, purchased souvenirs, and found numerous cafes and restaurants for brunch. While entry to the cathedral grounds is free, accessing the interior requires a ticket. Due to the lengthy queue, exceeding 30 minutes, we opted to forego entry. Nonetheless, the premises were impeccably clean, ideal for capturing memorable photographs.

Absolutely worth the lines and ticket cost to get inside for self guided tour. They had a ticket that got you access to 5 different cites and a map to guide you.
The cathedral had the most breathtaking stained glass I’ve ever seen. You must go inside and see it all. Stunning.
The audio tour devices were sold out for the day so go early if you’d like to do that. You buy tickets just across the square from the front doors.

the cathedral located in the courtyard of the citadel of prague, can only be visited with a ticket, it is included in the basic ticket which includes part of the castle, golden street and the cathedral. it is spectacular in size and details and full of stories about emperors, kings, coronations, saints. it can be seen from any corner of Prague and sits on the hill of the fortress looking over the city. I recommend visiting it both outside and inside.

The queue to get into the Cathedral is huge but don't let that put you off as it moves very quickly. Inside it is fascinating and educational, this was an enjoyable way to spend half an hour or so. At the side of the Cathedral is another entrance where you pay to go to the top of the lookout tower which for me was the best.

Despite a lengthy queue outside, our visit to St. Vitus Cathedral was undeniably worthwhile. Prague Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Prague. The complex has buildings from Roman-style to Gothic and 20th century. The castle is located in the Hradcany neighborhood.
I recommend going early in the morning (before 8am) or in the evening (after 5pm). During these hours, the crowd is usually low, and you can enjoy and absorb more of the castle's beauty. I definitely recommend to go to the top of the lookout tower, as it provides a spectacular view of the entire city.

Definitely worth a walk up a hill 😊. Another one of those place that is much better out of the season of early in the day to avoid crowds. Exceptional architectural marvel the provides a “ old world “ almost fairytale like feel to the place . Also very nice view points, worth exploring, around the castle overlooking the city of Prague. Only downsides are that you have to pay extra to gain access to some parts of the complex.

A very large castle complex comprises multiple towers and buildings. Great way to spend an entire day learning about the history of the city. If you climb the tall South Tower, you will arrive at probably the best observation deck in Prague. There was also a building that serves as a museum. Don’t forget to take a stroll down the Golden Lane before leaving!

Prague Castle is located on a tall hill and has a view of the city below. It's like its own small town. I took many pictures here, and when I showed them to my friends, they thought the pictures didn't look like they were taken in real life. People are going to claim that it is edited. The most important advice I can give about anything related to Prague Castle is to plan to spend two separate half days there. I am saying this because there will be a lot of people in the mornings, but you can use your tickets for two days. If you go in the afternoon, you can visit three or four places before they close. You can come back the next day to finish your tour. That is the most optimal way to visit this attraction. The area is very spacious, and there are buildings all around. You may not be able to enter all of them, but the ones that are open and listed on your ticket are worth visiting. Definitely worth checking out and definitely worth the effort to go up.

This place is unreal!!!!! It is hard to believe that places like this still exist. This whole city is actually unreal. This is definitely a place that everyone (if you have a chance) should visit at least once in their life time. There are so many places to see and to visit within the city.
In the castle make sure that you visit the gardens as well. If you want an even better experience, go there late at night when there is barely anyone there and the lights make it turn into a n even more magical place.

Most of the palace is actually a free to walk around area. You need to pay if you want to visit the museum parts or a small street, or the toilet. The signs are very distinguishable so you need not worry. The front yard of the castle has a narrow garden with a great view towards Charles Bridge. Exploring the small streets to get to the castle was in my opinion just as nice, so take your time and walk around.

Stunning location with views over the city. The castle holds a beautiful cathedral in the courtyard. You have to get tickets to go into the cathedral and other parts of the castle and the queue was long so I didn't go in. Book tickets in advance if you want to see it all.

You simply must walk here through the palace gardens beginning almost a kilometer east of the palace, poised high above the city and the river. The views through the majestic trees and in and amongst the flowers, particularly in springtime, are simply regal. I have yet to sample the splendors of the interior of the castle itself but am already enchanted by what I’ve experienced on my first two visits to and through the outer walls and buildings of the castle.

Absolutely amazing venue. Superior views across Prague. I was very impressed with the food service. I was lucky enough to be invited to a special dinner. I was particularly impressed that the staff were so attentive that before my drink had finished I was presented with a drink and they remembered what I was drinking. Absolutely phenomenal. The main lady running the service was a pleasure speaking with and clearly understood how to make guests feel special. Very impressive, it's rare that I am blown away. The venue is fantastic, the balcony for drinks reception is amazing. The food was truly amazing, and the service was spectacular.

The castle looks spectacular from outside, but ordinary in the inside, we are not impressed too much. The tower offers bird eye view of Prague, but climb 275 steps pose a challenge we conquered. To summarize, after several days in Prague, we found most of the churches inside looks much the same, so we recommend you choose the free ones such as church of our lady before Tyn, for the others, we really don’t think buy the ticket is a must, take a picture from outside and visit public areas will do.

I loved Prague Castle. It is so ancient, with so much history and it has been maintained in excellent shape. It is the highlight of Prague and one of the best castles I have ever been to. Take a taxi or transit to start at the west end of the castle and then walk downwards towards downtown. Much easier.

The castle looks impressive from down below. To get up you have to climb a lot of stairs! Not recommend if it’s a hot summer day. At the top you find a overprices starbucks and the museum shop. There is no way to fill up your water bottle as there is no fountain This was really disappointing. But the castle is beautiful. The tickets are fairly prices considering you can visit different buildings. The view from the top is also great.

A lovely place to visit.
The road to the place itself is beautiful and full of amazing scenery while you go up.
Make sure to get comfy as there are a lot of stairs until you reach the cathedral itself.
As you go up, you have food and drinks option all around , as well as old town part right nearby(5 min walk).
The place is very crowded so make sure to follow rush hours and visit when its most suitable for you.
Make sure not to miss this one!

Definitely worth a walk all the way and visiting the Castle grounds and gardens. Whether buying a ticket to enter the various rooms and halls/museums is worth it or not, will leave the decision to you. The St Vitus cathedral definitely worth seeing.

What a terrific experience. We visited the castle through one of the Free Tour web sites who helped us take a tram to the top so we could enter from a less crowded entrance. The whole place is stunning. Building after building is immaculate and the varied architecture is fascinating. Our guide pointed out the different styles and in one square you can see 4 or 5 different eras of architecture. I think I took over 400 pictures in the 45 minutes we were there and felt I barely scratched the surface. Definitely a must see!!

Cool place. You have to buy the general ticket to see inside of the churches and also the golden lane. We didn’t do that because I guess other than golden lane, the exterior of the buildings is more interesting than the interior. Also every hour you can see the soldiers doing their changing ceremony in one of the gates that opens up to the square. Overall it was worth going.
Charles Bridge is a beautiful, medieval bridge located in the heart of Prague. The bridge was built in 1357 and is one of the most iconic structures in Prague. The bridge is known for its 32 different points of interest and its ability to connect the Old Town with the New Town.
Absolutely good looking, many will agree the most beautiful old fashion bridge ever. Every single sculpture, statutes on the bridge are individual piece of art. When near sunset, the rivers with some boats, pigeons, view is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the crowd is insane, rough estimate there are thousands of tourist on the bridge at the same time ALL the day time.

I loved being able to walk across the bridge! There were so many great views of Prague, and the bridge was full of local artists and musicians showcasing their work. They are in the process of revitalizing the statues, which was incredible to see when comparing the older ones to the newer ones. Like the rest of the city, my only regret was not being able to spend more time exploring! If I am ever able to return to Prague, I plan to return ❤️
Megan Gaunt — Google review
The view of the river and city from the bridge is amazing, but too many small shops make it a little crowded, street musicians add to the charm, but these small shops selling souvenirs just occupy space. Maybe they should reduce the numbers or not allow them in the centre part of the bridge. I know they are trying to make a living but the bridge isn't that wide.
Vignesh Ganesan — Google review
This city is so cool! Awesome vibe here. Cool hangouts/pubs/bars, great food, and the people are awesome! Everyone here seems to be cheerful and that is something I don’t usually find in such a touristy place. Charles Bridge is iconic and has so much to see and photograph. Lots and lots of history, and so we’ll maintained.
You can’t help but love this place!

One of the must-see Prague landmarks with incredible gothic architecture and amazing statues lining the wide, pedestrian-only bridge. Be ready for crowds though as this is a very popular spot. The bridge leads to Prague's beautiful Lesser City with lots of small shops and traders. You can climb the towers and get a great view of the bridge and surround too.

Very beautiful bridge, connecting old town with new town. The gates at the entrance are decorated beautifully and on both sides of the bridge there are statues. On the bridge you can find a lot of street artists and small markets. Unfortunately the bridge is often very crowded and it takes you a long time to get to the other side. Would recommend to go there early in the morning or late in the evening. Definitely a sight you should not miss in Prague!

Recommend going early morning or late evening if you’re trying to beat the crowds.

Very cool spot in Prague. You get a great view of The Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral. Plenty of places to take pictures. Artisans are selling their work on the bridge and a few musicians are playing. You can spend about 10 minutes to an hour walking up and down the bridge.

One of the best places for pictures in Prague bit please do it justice nas read about it before you go because this is one of the most important landmarks of Prague.
Also, if you are going to ask for a wish from St John, do do with your left hand and DO NOT touch the dog as it is suppose to give bad luck!
Enjoy it.
Here is a collection of pictures of some of the statues in the bridge.

Like the old town square, this is a bit of a “must visit” when in Prague. Read up on the history of the bridge a little bit before going to walk over it and you’ll understand a bit more of it’s significance. Not too many days of the year when it is not packed full of tourists, but it is still worth a crossing. Nice to see the artists and other local hands selling their wares here still. I crossed this bridge first time back in 2008 and it’s still got it! Be sure to stop and take in the views of the gates and the river as it is easy to get swept up in the wandering crowds.

Prague is an enchanting city, and its crown jewel, Charles Bridge, is an absolute marvel. Stepping foot on the bridge feels like entering a fairytale realm where history comes alive. The bridge's architectural splendor, adorned with captivating statues, stands as a testament to the city's rich heritage. Walking across it, you can't help but be mesmerized by the breathtaking panoramic views of Prague's stunning skyline. I have only problem with the street lights. They are not so well places and not add beauty to the bridge. You can feel the fresh air and see both the sides of the city. There are many old structures and good shops where you can enjoy shopping

A beautiful pedestrian bridge that deserves it's reputation. Good for sunsets, bad for midnight as the lights go off, best for mornings before the crowds gather. And there's almost always a crowd. A bit too expensive a visit to the towers in my views but I understand - there's enough people to pay the price, so why not. The view is worth it I guess. The short movie you can see in the basement is totally not worth it and a waste of time, unless you're there with kids.

Obviously a must see! We just visited (Beginning of December) and didn't think it would get too packed but it does! Comes early or late to take it all in (or both). Great views of the castle, the Petrin and several other sites. Highly recommend spending the extra to go up the tower (note you need to specify to get tickets for both Charles Bridge and lesser town tower).

Absolutely beautiful and a must walk-visit when in Prague. Even if it’s very crowded, it’s really worthy. Eventually, you can go at non-touristic hours and it would be better! The view in both sides of the bridge, is really stunning. There are also few artists selling their art on there. It’s a great way to support local artists and to get a nice memory of the trip! We got some very nice postals/paintings on there, and it was possible to pay by card.
Wouldn’t get bored to pass by the bride once and again!

Initially I thought that going to the Charles Bridge would just be another old bridge, packed with lots of tourists. I ended up going back to the bridge four times, each time I went back I had new and interesting experiences. Go early in the morning if you want "people free" pictures. The performers on the bridge are entertaining. The bridge is also a nice spot to just hang out and visit with people.

The Old Town Square in Prague is a historic plaza that features many noteworthy Gothic and Baroque buildings. The square is a popular destination for tourists and locals, who come to admire the scenery and historical landmarks. The plaza also features a statue of Jan Hus, a religious reformer who was martyred in the 1500s.
An awesome place, that's for sure. One cozld spend hours there and still discover more and more details that are amazing. The buildings are beautiful and there are guides all around. There are a few food stands as well with Czech specialties for decent prices. Very beautiful Old Town Square, a church with two towers, as if materialized from a fairy-tale world. A huge monument, where people each with their own facial expressions, the sculptor managed to convey the character of each image, the sculptures came to life for a moment ... And these inscriptions around the perimeter of the monument, parting words to descendants, take it to the soul .... Yes, this square is so mesmerizing, which takes you back to the Middle Ages. It is very cool!

Old Town Square in Prague, Czech Republic, is the absolute best. It's feels as though you've stwp back in time. The magnificent building leaves you in awe. I looked up the whole time in Prague. I was told several movies are filmed in Prague because it resembles Paris. Paris wishes it was this beautiful. In the Old Town Prague, we rented scooters and drove around the cobbled streets. There was a bike lane that really helped.
We stopped and had a lovely dinner on multiple nights and ice cream in the streets. Old Town feels like fairytale meets Games of Thorns. It was quite expensive to eat in the tourist areas. In fact the prices were more expensive than the USA.

We visited for the Christmas Markets and we were not disappointed. A beautiful square with so many stunning buildings, including churches & monuments. The Christmas stalls were mainly selling delicious smelling food & drink but also lots selling Christmas gifts & novelties. The smell of cinnamon was lovely & the mulled wine.
The centre piece was a huge tree decorated with baubles and lights.
We visited firstly during the day and loved it but we returned the following day in the evening and it was spectacular the lights were amazing (the tree is switched on fully every evening) the whole square had a different feel to it so alive & vibrant. The food smelled even better & we succumbed to a hot dog each which was delicious plus my husband tried the old Prague ham.
There was music & lights and it felt so festive it was very heartwarming to experience it.
You can even go on a horse drawn carriage ride

Beautiful experience with my family. If you are in Prague it is a must to come see this historical square. Personally the vendors and the souvenirs are lacking compared to what else is around the city. There are some awesome restaurants and coffee shops short walks away.
But being such an iconic square makes it worth the effort of being there.
The Staroměstská radnice (Old Town Hall) is a 14th-century old town hall that is renowned for its observatory tower and intricate astronomical clock. The structure was damaged during the Prague Uprising of 1945, but was eventually rebuilt in a more simplified style. Today, it is one of the most prominent landmarks in Old Town Square. You can tour the tower and the underground areas, as well as the city council chambers.
The Old Town hall
Look on the web for the exhibition whether is open for public the old town hall. Time to time they taken visitors inside into the old Town hall for a large tour. On the door just next to the astronomical clock is the entry and sometimes also on the door is information when they do the tour which is really worthy to take. It is quiet long tour about 2 hours and they are take you up to the tower of the old Town hall and also two level down into the historical basement. There is also historical artefacts and overall very interesting tour o with historical guidance about the old Town hall and also information provided relate to the Prague history of the town.

Almost missed it, as the entrance is on the left of the Astronomical Clock. The Old Town Hall is impressive by itself, but it also gives access to see the saints behind the Astronomical Clock (the ones that pop out every hour) and you also get to go up the tower and have a panoramic view of the city. The ticket is not individual and you must buy the visit for the entire building to get to go up the tower.

Beautiful design of the clock, make sure to go inside the building , and clock chimes every 5 minute before an hour . if you're inside you can watch the characters taking their turn to move . It does cost some money and a pamphlet is recommended so you know what is going on in each room for its history . Make sure to visit the tower as you get a good view of the town square even prague itself

Visited the town hall / astronomical clock in a recent visit to Prague. We pre-booked tickets online and needed to exchange the online code for paper tickets at the desk prior to entry. I believe this would be useful in the summer but it was quiet enough in early February to not worry. The best part is the top of the tower which gives a great view over the main square, there are lots of steps so keep this in mind before you go. There are lifts you can pay for but they only take you some of the way.

Tip: 50% off tickets before 10am!
Great view but also incredibly beautiful inside. You can see the apostels that turn every hour from the inside.
Specially designed, unique elevator.

At first an important notice about tickets: if you buy a combined ticket for both old town hall and the tower entrance on the first floor, it costs CZK 480 for a family ticket. If you buy solely tower entrance, it will set you back CZK 600 for a family. So I recommend buying tickets on the first floor.
The old town hall is very impressive from the outside. The tower is very tall. In the inside in the “museum” there’s not much to see but it’s still worth going there. The view from the tower is astonishing. Absolutely loved it. If you’re around, it’s certainly worth it to go there and climb the tower, you won’t regret it.

Must-see tour of old Prague town hall but requires planning
The Old Town Hall tours (~$25/adult) offer a behind-the-scenes look at the Astronomical Clock and a glimpse into the medieval Czech high-society homes that later became this historic attraction. The guided tours, grouped by language, occur on a couple hour cadence and are usually quickly booked out. The guides are super knowledgeable and the guided tours also feature access to the dungeons / cellars, which were on the original street level of Prague!
The clock tower observation deck is a great vantage point to see the Old Town Square and the rest of Prague. There is a lift ($5 round trip) but the ramps to walk upstairs aren’t strenuous and easily accessible.

A lovely clock from the outside, but I would definitely recommend buying tickets for the tour inside and to go up the tower: the view is gorgeous. The tour includes access to view the mechanism inside of the clock as well as the underground rooms beneath the town hall and is well worth the money. When ascending the tower you can pay extra to take the lift, but I wouldn't bother as there is a spiral ramp as opposed to stairs which isn't particularly challenging or lengthy to climb. You can buy tickets on the third floor but may need to come back another day for your tour, as they book up quite quickly.

Super interesting guided tour of all the chambers and the underground of the Old Town Hall. We purchased the guided tour ticket, which consists of a general explanation of chambers, clock, paintings, and underground prison. The ticket did not include the lift to the top of the tower however, so we'd recommend purchasing that if you don't want to go to the top through the curly and narrow stairs (my mum felt a bit claustrophobic so we wish we had purchased that too!). Karolina, the tour guide, was great at explaining and keeping us entertained with fun facts throughout the whole tour. We learnt a lot about how the building was designed and how it changed throughout time, the hussites and the Moravian and Bohemian empires, and the gothic style of the time. Would strongly recommend going!

Worth popping in and ascending to the top of the clock tower for the views. You can pay extra for the lift, but alternatively you can take the lifts to level 4, before taking a ramp for a few floors, followed by a spiral stairs case. Takes about 5-10min to get up to the top.
You can also see the figurines from the atronomical clock from behind on level 1 and if you time your visit, then you can see them moving.

Entry for student about €8, well worth it in my opinion, even if only for the view from the tower.

Karlštejn Castle is a beautiful Gothic castle in the countryside southwest of Prague. It is home to many royal treasures, including paintings and portraits of the emperor and his family. There are regular tours available, which are recommended if you want to see this magnificent building up close.
Excellent bathrooms and cafe up at the castle. Also were street vendors in the courtyard serving food and beer. Not a bad wake in that environment at all! Great view of the city or rather town below. The tour of the castle itself was engaging and interesting. Just about the right length of time.

We went to see the castle as we had some spare time in Prague. It was nice to see the land outside the capital. Very very green.
The castle is nothing special. There are tours in English but you have to pay different tickets if you want to visit the whole castle.

It is better to choose another castle to visit, in Czech there are plenty from what to chose and for sure much more beautiful then this one. One important thing. There are 3 different types of tours. If you decide to go there, my recomendation is to take the Chapel tour

Hello everyone, I would like to share the happiness and beauty that I have visited. I would like to recommend everyone to try visiting. Everything is beautiful and very impressive. If there is a chance, I will go back there again. It is a great place. A place where you should take your family or couples to relax and take lots of pictures. I hope everyone can happily see the pictures I have shared. I have fallen in love with this place:) And you!!??

Located about 30 kilometers southwest of Prague, Karlštejn Castle started life in 1348 and has since risen in the ranks to one of the best castles in the Czech Republic.
Karlštejn Castle was founded by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor as his private residence and a place of safekeeping royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels. In 1355 Charles IV stayed here for the first time, overseeing the construction and decoration work, especially in chapels. The construction was completed in 1365 when the Chapel of the Holy Cross in the Great Tower was consecrated.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross was the place of safekeeping the imperial crown jewels until 1420 when the Hussite wars (religious civil war) began, and they had not ever returned to Karlštejn Castle. After the wars in 1436, the Bohemian crown jewels were taken to the Chapel of the Holy Cross where they remained till 1619.
The castle was a representative residence of Charles IV and his son Wenceslas IV only, i.e. till 1419. As a fortress, Karlštejn Castle protected the crown jewels, holy relics, and royal archives till the 17th century.
After 1480 the castle was rebuilt in the late Gothic style, in the last quarter of the 16th century in the Renaissance style. During the last reconstruction that took place at the end of the 19th century (by architect Josef Mocker) in the spirit of purism, the castle gained its present appearance.
The preserved original stair-arrangement of individual castle buildings is very impressive. The lower section with a small courtyard by the Well Tower and the Burgrave´s House continue through the majestic five-storey Imperial Palace and the Marian Tower. At the highest point, the construction of the castle culminates in a monumental, 60-meter-high Great Tower and its massive fortifications.
An unique original 14th-century wall decoration, a set of 129 paintings created by Master Theodoric in the Chapel of the Holy Cross (the largest in the world), the largest portrait gallery of kings of Bohemia in the Czech Republic, a replica of the royal Crown of Bohemia, a unique castle well. The castle is also famous as a set to a comedy play Night at Karlštejn Castle by Czech poet Jaroslav Vrchlický.
After centuries of lying in near ruin, much needed restorative work has restored the Gothic castle to all its former glory, making it an immensely popular destination. The bustling tourist crowds are a stark contrast to the peaceful surrounding countryside which offers views of Karlstejn’s stunning exterior.
From November, 01st, 2021 to March, 31st, 2022 the castle is closed to the public, including the garden.

Great day trip just 30 minute train ride from Prague. The mandatory guided tours are informative and full of neat information. During winter months, the main part is closed off for preservation, so best to visit after May. We still enjoyed our time at the castle and in town, despite not being able to see everything.

Beautiful bohemian castle not far outside of Prague. My guide said many consider it to be the most beautiful in the whole country. However, I visited in April and a portion of the castle (including the chapel) was closed to the public. Also, the village that the castle is located in is seasonal, as there were no stores or restaurants open in the town on a Tuesday afternoon! I would recommend visiting between May-October.

Such a beautiful stop, this could be a quick adventure throughout your visit , it literally takes less than an hour to get here from the main train station and like 20 min walk from the train stop to the castle , the tours are 300 czk for the most basic one , and there are a lot of shops and restaurants that are along the way.

Very nice historic castle. Book a guide it helps understand the historic context. Try to visit weekdays because it is very crowded on weekends.

Impressive views, of and from the castle.
It's a nice good really up the hill, through the small village at the foot of the castle.
Many pitstop temptations before getting to the castle itself, I suggest considering a restaurant stop when coming back from the castle.
The tours are organized in Czech and in English.
Although there was a partial reconstruction in the courtyard that didn't impact the overall feeling of the place, its history and beauty.

Karlstejn Castle may not have a lot of history to back it up, considering it was constructed in less than 10 years and served as a storage for crowns and jewels rather than an official residence, but it's worth a day trip from Prague. If you don't drive a car, I recommend taking a one-way cab (Uber / Bolt) from Prague to the castle, after which you would only need to walk up to 5 minutes to the entrance where the tours begin. It's convenient and saves you the uphill climb. While going back, there are of course no cabs available so you'd need to take the train. The train station is a 30 minute walk from the entrance of the castle, right on the other side of the river, and the train itself takes only 45 minutes to get you to the Prague city center. It's quite convenient.
Second, I also recommend buying tour tickets in advance on their website, after which you only need to wait at the meeting point and do not have to queue up for tickets (note that you cannot enter the castle without a guided tour.) There are three types of tours available - I booked number 3 (View from the Great Tower), which is a short, 30 minute guided walk up to the fourth floor of the tour, and then you get 15 minutes to take pictures from the tower. Note that the tower is an enclosed space and the pictures are taken through windows, so you cannot take a picture of yourself with the castle from up the tower. This tour involved climbing some stairs but it wasn't too much.
There are also some areas you can explore on your own after the tour ends - the Clock Tower and the Well Tower are notable ones. I highly recommend the Well Tower, another 2 minute walk from the entrance, which has splendid views of the entire castle and is the best point to take a picture of yourself with the castle background! The well itself is also quite deep, and I also recommend a small souvenir shop by it, really cute hangings, bells, and fridge magnets available there.
The first few pictures I've added are from the Great Tower guided tour, and the last one is from the Well Tower. :)

Kristyna was our guide and she was absolutely delightful. We went on the Czech Tour (for time's sake) and she figured out pretty quickly that we didn't understand Czech, so when we stopped at different spots on the tour she would then speak English for us.
We were very appreciative especially since we knew she didn't have to do that.
Wonderful castle. Bring Czech crowns though. Most things in the little town on the way only take cash.

Beautiful castle and the village. We went by train from Prague main train station. It's cost us £18 up and down. Spend only few hours. Wish could go earlier. But managed to have a tour inside the castle last one.

There's nothing to see inside the castle!!! Total disappointment. The castle is just beautiful from the outside.... The excursion is about 30 minutes or so. I couldn't believe that people pay money for that. It is forbidden to take pictures inside but actually there's nothing to photograph :( It is much more exciting to go around the castle and take pictures and read the history in Wikipedia.

There's a train station 20mins walk away that's connected to Prague (ticket costs around 3-4€ one-way). Multiple stores that sell Czech drinks and food, restaurants with Czech food are open nearby. There are guided tours in Czech and English that I recommend taking. They cost 260 CZK. Beautiful scenery all around, nice photo spots, interesting castle history. Worthwhile visit, perfect for a one-day get-away from Prague

Excellent guide in English. It’s just a shame the visit is divided into three separate tours you can’t book at the same time as you miss out on a lot of rooms.
I recommend you plan your visit ahead and try to book all three back to back.
The grounds are breathtaking and so is the view. It’s real easy to reach the castle via train from Prague (40min ride - a train every half hour + 15min walk).
Don’t miss out on the video in the movie room, by the toilet under the main courtyard. It gives a nice picture of how the castle came to be.

we had a bad and stressful experience. We visted the castle at 8. March at 3pm. the lady who led the Czech tour didn't let us join the English group even though we don't understand a word of Czech. of course, she didn't even try to speak to us in English or explain herself, so we stood for over 20 minutes like complete idiots and listened to something we didn't understand at all. after the friendly guide from the English group agreed to let us join her group, the person in question still insisted that we must stay in her group. she was terribly unpleasant and unkind and annoying. it is completely unclear to me why and what is the point of it, but the experience we had was very miserable. another thing is that until 1.may. over half of the castle is closed. including the most important part that remained closed to visitors when we were there. the ticket price was not adjusted for that, but we paid the full price as if we had seen everything, which I personally think is wrong. I wouldn't go back again

We went here to visit the castle with a tour guide. Make sure you're on time because they are really on time to start the tour. We were 5 min too late because of traffic and the group already left. It's a fun place to visit and really great to see how the people lived in the early days.
Make sure to buy tickets in advance and yes they really do check your tickets when you enter.

Absolutely GORGEOUS CASTLE! There are several tours for visiting different parts of the castle, tours are available in both Czech and English. Drinks and snacks are available there in the castle. You cannot do self guiding tours, which I don't blame them for, and it's quite nice! It's a good hard hike up the hill, I believe I saw rides available for purchase for those who can't physically make the climb

An amazing place to visit when you want a break from the crowds in Prague. An easy drive or train ride and up hill walk from the city - this medieval castle does not disappoint. Definitely worth the cost of the exclusive tour - I did not expect to see such amazing art and history up close. You are not allowed to take photos inside the castle but I will remember it for a long time. All this set next to a charming village and lovely countryside. Well worth the day trip.

An amazing castle just 1 hour from Prague. Photos just do this place justice. Def worth a visit.
Konopiste Castle, located 2km west of Benesov, is a fusion of medieval and Renaissance architecture with a Baroque palace built on top. It was once the secluded country retreat of Archduke Franz Ferdinand dEste, known for his passion for hunting and devotion to St George. The castle's extensive grounds bear witness to these twin obsessions. Its historical significance lies in its association with the assassination of the archduke in 1914, which triggered WWI.
The castle has a history of Franz Ferdinands and his apartments, weapons chapel etc. A particular tour takes up to an hour and costs around 250kc per person (plus 60kc for the Audio device if you want an English translation)
You will see the old weapons used, his bedroom, Church, some garments, etc and the history behind them.
Aside that, there is a nice botanical garden arround full of roses and peacocks.
Its worth the visit.

It’s our favorite castle. We came here a long time ago and recently brought our kids back to see it. It has something for everyone. My 13 year old son loved the armory and the sheer amount of antique weaponry, plus the number of animals on display. My 18 year old daughter was enthralled with the grounds, the peacocks, bear and other animals, and of course the romanticism of the castle itself. There are 3 or 4 different tours depending on what you want to see. We were short on time so we only did the armory. We would have done another if time had allowed. One of our favorite parts was the little walk up bar next to the gift shop in the parking lot. It was run by the nicest gentleman and had wonderful sausage stuffed in bread, lattes and desserts. We sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed the area. It’s also very close to Prague. We stopped here on our way to Hluboka. We were able to do both tours in one day! You can purchase tickets in the ticket office and there is a nice, free restroom on site.

Such a difference such a short distance from Prague! We went as it was recommended by a Czech friend who has gone their for years. May I suggest the second parking area? The first had a restaurant and plenty of parking but the walk up the hill was very steep and unpaved.
Walking around the grounds themselves was delightful. Statuary, views, and verdant lawns were in abundance. Near the castle entrance was a clever display board with information on over a dozen areas of interest and history - in Czech, English, and German. Picking the language was easy I learned things I hadn't known.
We didn't get to see the castle interior as all the tours the Friday we visited were in Czech. Our Czech is not nearly good enough! But the courtyard was lively, with little cafes and a peacock! The small dog with us was curious but left the big bird alone.
We found out that dogs are not allowed in the Rose Garden as well as the castle interior. The garden, what we could see, looked colorful and well tended. But our favorite place at the foot of the castle hill was the lake. Peaceful, cool, and watching the fish jump was a nice break from the hustle of Prague.
Czech Republic has a true gem in this hunting castle by the lake. Please visit if you have a chance.

Amazing castle, the nearby gardens are huge so you can find a place where you can just sit and hang out. The tickets for the castle tour is fine (240 Kč/person, kids and seniors have a sale). There were multiple beautiful peacocks. Near the castle entrance is a exposition where were predatory birds. Parking is near the castle and just 60 Kč for a day. The nearby "rose garden" is gorgeous during the spring. I absolutely recommend a visit to this castle.

We love spending time here with our kids. They really enjoy the surroundings, the peacocks walking around, having a picnic, watching the bear, buying tasty sweets from chocolate factory, feeding the animals (we always bring carrots with us).
We've been here in all seasons, but best time for visiting the place is during spring when all flowers bloom. During summer its pretty crowded, but still worths, during autumn are the best landscapes.

Overall one of the nicest castles we visited - rich history and lots of things to see inside. You need to choose one out of four possible tours (10-15 EUR/person) based on your interest. I couldn't find a way to combine 2 or more together without spending whole day here. English speaking people can get an audio book for 2 EUR (no english tours available today). Payment by card is possible, online information about tours is not matching reality.

The Sedlec Ossuary is a small Gothic chapel decorated with garlands of human skulls and bones. It is also known as the Roman Catholic Cemetery Church of All Saints with the Ossuary, and it was built in 14th century AD as one of the earliest holy grounds in Central Europe.
While visiting Prague, Czech Republic we took the train to Kutná Hora to explore this unique church. The bones of people have been arranged as decorations and lamps. Piles of skulls are also stored there. #CulturalLandmarks_KutnaHora

One of a kind place in the world, I must say.
Just amazing. Made out of human bones and skulls, this ossuary is a remarkable place to visit.
Remember, they do not allow photography inside now as stupid people have abused it as some kind of a haunted place on a social media.
You can either visit it first before entering the town or plan it at the end of the trip.

Had to buy the tickets at the info centrum 150 meters away. We weren't allowed to take pictures in the chapel. I was able to take pictures upstairs tho. But besides that I recommend visiting, it is beautiful and scary at the same time.

This is worth the trip from Prague. Very easy to get to by train! Make sure you buy your tickets from the information centre before heading up to the church as they don’t sell tickets at the church.
Although the church is full of bones it is not “creepy” in anyway but instead quite spiritual. There is no photography allowed.
There are guides you can hire from the town to give you a tour however the audio guide you can get inside the church along with the pamphlet is all you really need!
There are souvenirs at both the I go centre and in the church at reasonable prices and helps keep the church “alive” as they get no other funding!
The lady at the info center is super helpful!

My first recommendation is to buy a digital combination ticket online before you travel. The ticket is valid for up to a year, so you don't have to pick a date. They don't sell tickets at the ossuary, so if you have a digital ticket with you, you can just scan and go and don't have to make your way to the visitor centre 150 meters away.
If you like ossuaries, you'll love this one. It's definitely macabre, but so beautiful! Bones and skulls have been arranged into intricate sculptures and decorations, it's stunning to look at!
It's a rather small church, but if this kind of thing interests you, you'll have plenty to look at. It's currently under renovation, so parts of the church are blocked off with scaffolding and tarps, but it's still a stunning place to visit.
Very close to other sights in Kutna Hora, so absolutely worth the trip down.

You are not allowed to take pictures inside. You have to buy entrance tickets either online, or around the corner from up the street there is a store that sells entry tickets. Highly recommend going to that church as well.. the paintings are stunning.

This place has its own unique way to show you the darkness. I did remove one star, for the considerably over priced ticket for this small place. I removed another one, the place was even smaller due to construction, the cost is covered from the tickets currently sold. Additionally, a very short version of history is shared for the visitor.

I've visited twice over the past year and it's an impressive sight and quite a unique place. Note that taking photos is no longer allowed.
The place is under renovation as they are cleaning/restoring some of the bone piles and there are support ls to keep the church safe.
In the season it can be really busy as busses full of tourists can be dropped in regular intervals. Buying the ticket online makes it easier to get it, and not wait at the ticket office, which is down the street.

Not worth the admission. The actual place is very small and lacked information. Can finish the visit in 5 minutes but takes over an hour to get here from Prague.
Also, photos are prohibited but no one enforces it. Just don't be obvious.
St Barbara's Cathedral, located in the Sedlec district of Kutna Hora, is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture. The cathedral is adorned with spiky spires, flying buttresses, and frescoes that add to its grandeur. It was constructed in 1388 and boasts five naves but was not completed until the early twentieth century due to construction delays caused by the declining productivity of the town's silver mines.
I love visiting churches when there are no priests and no preaching etc. This one is amazing!! Especially on a sunny afternoon ♡ From my whole trip to Kutna Hora, this was the highlight.

The cathedral was worth seeing although I think some of the comments about it being the most beautiful are not my opinion.
There are a lots of beautiful areas and you can climb the stairs to the top. There are some nice views and it’s interesting to see the irfan from the back - not what I would have pictured!
The grounds are nice to walk around or sit and have lunch.

Magnificent.
Feel so ancient yet strong holiness around.
It is amusing that the history of this great cathedral was from the working class, not the royal family! In this case was the mining worker in Kutná Hora centuries ago.
The interior was well kept with some fault to show how ancient it was.
It will be cheaper if you buy the ticket in a bundle with the Sedlec cathedral+kotsnice.

You can take a train from Prague to Kutna Hora to visit St Barbara. An impressive church with equally interesting or intriguing public sculptures in the grounds around the church. Worth visiting, if you have the time.

Totally breath taking outside and inside, this amazing cathedral worth it every minute you spend in there. Sister of Cathedral of Prague, perfect conserved with one of the beautiful vitralius i ever seen and impressive orga, i dont have words enough to describe how beautiful it is. You cand rich this site walking along a wonderful terrase merged by monumental statues, part of the Jesuit College. So if you want to take a trip outside the Prague, you shound not miss this place for sure.

This church is magnificent. It’s enormous and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Glad we added this to our destination on our last day in Prague. We joined a tour group but you can reach this by public transportation.
Zoo set in river valley, with themed continental enclosures, tigers, leopards & a breeding program.
Amazing. I don't recommend buying fried cheese, because if you do, you will literally get a thin fried cheese, nothing else. No bread nor vegetables, just anything. Don't buy food there and be sure to bring your own drinks.

Small, but nice zoo, good atmosphere. The parking lot is small, so in busy days hard to find a parking place (somewhere).
gabor racz — Google review
First impression was not quite good. At the main parking entrance we asked whether the dogs are allowed here, we got a response - they are not. If we would not search for other possibilities we would be forced to leave. They should have told us right away that there are a dog kennels available at the second entrance or there should be a sign saying so to spare us this negative experience. Otherwise, the zoo itself is pretty nice and in the end we enjoyed it.

This is a great zoo, very close to the city center. We spent approx 3 hours there. They have lots of interesting species there, especially the snow leopards and all the monkeys were impressive. There are a lot of picnic tables and bathrooms and snack bars. I think the entrance fee is very cheap, considering how big and well maintained the garden is.

There is a lot to see in the zoo. The whole family can have a very nice time in the Zoo. It is possible to see the whole Zoo in 3 hours but if you take the time to explore you can spend a lot of rime there. We particulary enjoyed the eagle flights.

Fantastic Zoo. Beautifully placed in a valley. You will get really close up with animals. Birds of prey show. Incredible reptile house. Not sure which was our favourite - Malaysian bear, large cats, giraffes or flamingoes. Too much to see in one day. So well cared for. Food, toilets, gift shop, large playground, big car park, walking distance from public transport. Loved every minute!

One of the best zoos I've been to! The animals are maximum close to the people. You are at a touching distance of the little monkeys! They have a feeding schedule and different performances with different animals. Last time we watched the birds of prey: owls, falcons and eagles flying show. It was marvellous, the caretaker made the owls stay on the benches next to the people, practically at touching distance, and he made the falcon walk on the backs of the audience. It was a magical show! Great job Zoo Jihlava!

Telč, a charming town in the southern Czech Republic, is celebrated for its picturesque Italian Renaissance architecture. The town's main square, Zachariáš of Hradec Square, is surrounded by vibrant houses adorned with arcades and ornate gables. Notable landmarks include the former Gothic castle turned chateau, Telč Castle, as well as the 18th-century Marian Column and St. James Church with its stunning Gothic frescoes.

Spilberk Castle is a medieval fortress located in the center of Brno, Czech Republic. It has been used as a royal castle, a baroque fortress, and as a prison during different times in Czech history. Today, the castle is part of the City Museum which hosts exhibitions on architecture, history, and art.
Beautiful castle - a highlight for any trip to Brno. Give yourself plenty of time for the visit as it’s large and there is a lot to see.
Lots for all the family to see and do.
Good food and drink options.
It’s surrounded by a beautiful park and has tons of viewing platforms to see all of Brno

Although the castle itself is not worth visiting, but the castle ground and surrounding is just breathtakingly beautiful. It is a perfect morning walk around the park, plenty of places to sit, there are view points almost every few steps, so get your camera ready. The ground and park is so well maintained and clean, while I was there I really relaxed and forgot about all the noise from the city. Perfect for a relaxing stroll.

Summary and caveats: not great for kids. Great for adults *if* you like 20th century art and/or photography, or early-to-late modern artifacts like old weapons, furniture, clothing, etc. Also, skip the first floor of the museum entirely, it was really not worth the time.
We spent several hours wandering through the museum and prison. The museum was delightful, aside from the first floor which is basically a tedious collection of historical illustrations with poorly translated explanations in English. Every other floor made up for it, especially the modern art exhibit. The prison was arguably something you could skip, though I personally enjoyed walking through the long dark spaces and reading about what transpired there. If you are short on time, it's very reasonable to cut the prison from your tour.

Great sightseeing spot to go to. It is right next to multiple sightseeing spots. On the top there is a bar with great bartender and the drinks are really nice. Right under the Castle is an nuclear fallout shelter also worth seeing. We did not get s tour but the public areas around the castle are really beautiful.

City’s big attractions aren’t appealing to me, but I’m so glad I walked up the hill to the Spilberk Castle. Don’t pay to go inside. Simply walk the trails finding views of Brno, waterfalls, and sculptures. Then walk into the castle’s courtyard and around to see the moat and more views of the city.

The view from the castle is amazing, and free.
There's also several very cheap guided tour options that allow you to enter the cast buildings. I did the "History of the Castle" tour, which I found very interesting. The tour was in Czech, but we were provided an English guidebook and our guide was also very happy to answer questions in English afterwards.
Included in our ticket was entry to an art gallery that is part of the Castle, which also gave a cool overview of some of the history of Czech art, especially in Brno.

Great variety of exhibitions for the fare price of muzeum ticket. I was surprised and very enjoyed the muzeum on a rainy day. This castle is much better than Karlstein! If you like castles, I definitely recommend visiting Špilberk! It is a huge castle with a lot of exhibitions, ranging from the makings of the castle over its history as a prison up to modern-day Brno. There is art and sculptures, you can see old parts of the walls and castle, there are interactive exhibitions for kids, rooms showing how the prisoners lived and torture methods, and much more.
It includes the MMB Museum, the Tower and the Royal Chapel, the Treasures of Armoury, the underground water tanks and the casemates.
You have to buy all the tickets individually.
I bought one for the Museum, the Armoury and the Tower and Chapel and paid around 15€.
Sadly, the water tanks were closed at the time I visited the castle.
How much time should you plan:
A whole day if you want to see everything the castle has to offer
3+ hours for the exhibitions in the Museum
20 min for the Treasures of Armoury
30-40 min for the Tower and Chapel
What I would have liked to be done differently:
All the rooms with exhibitions in the museum have detailed info panels in Czech. The translations for tourists are found in booklets hanging on walls or given out by the staff. The booklets only cover an overview of the parts that are exhibited. They are not detailed and for some things, there is no translation at all. You have to translate it yourself if you want to know more. Some of the signs for orientation were only in Czech, too.
The booklets are in English and German, only in some rooms they were in French (if I am not mistaken) and only in the Treasures of Armoury I found an italian translation.
The quality of translation could be better, the English was good, some of the German (in the Armoury) was pretty bad and the sentences didn't make sense, otherwise it was okay.
It would also be very helpful if the castle could offer an estimation of time for the average stay.
There is a Bistro outside of the castle. The park around it is beautiful, especially in autumn and ideal for walks. The view is stunning, you can see the whole city of Brno and the mountains around it. It is definitely worth a visit, but plan your time accordingly.

The art displayed around the castle grounds does not go well with the style of the castle (plus it looks disturbing)

The Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul is a towering landmark in the city of Brno, and one of the most important sights in South Moravia. This gorgeous national cultural monument is composed of two 84 meter high towers, and features an impressive Romanesque chapel from the 11th century that was later rebuilt into a Gothic structure. The cathedral is well known for its noon bells which ring at 11am every day.
The outside is very beautiful, in Gothic style. The inside is OK. It's worth it walking up the bell tower for 2 eur and getting the views overlooking Brno. There are 2 sides to look at, so it's definitely worth it. Not too many steps to climb up.
Paul Heller — Google review
Known locally as Petrov, the Catholic Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul has a Gothic architecture and Baroque interior.
What’s fascinating is that the bells are rung at 11 o’clock instead of 12. Legend has it that in 1645, after months of continuous fighting, the Swedish forces had set themselves a limit to conquer Brno by noon on the 15th of August. Some clever locals and spies changed the course of the Thirty Years War by ringing the bells one hour before noon. In consequence, the Swedish army retreated.
Stefan Popescu — Google review
The cathedral looks the best from the outside. Inside it's just a generic catholic temple. The view point is also not the best (two little balconies on the opposite sides) but it has a very low price, so I shouldn't complain.
One special thing I saw which isn't often in christian temples is that between balconies, you go through the space which is between the ceiling and the roof of the cathedral.

After eastern France and the Wallone area of Belgium, I can't get enough of the churches in Czechia. They have all been so amazing and this one does not disappoint. It is beautiful, peaceful and a great walk up a hill. You can climb the tower too but I didn't have enough time. It is worth the walk up the hill to enjoy the peace
Wandering Auntie — Google review
The cathedral dominates the view of the city. The gothic structure has some very old ‘original’ gothic features in the choir. The interior is well preserved and you can feel that it is an active church as well. It is surrounded with terraces and some give a nice view of the surroundings. You can visit the tower as well. Some interesting features are the marble pulpit and the Holy Virgin statue inside, and the rather rare stone pulpit outside.

Brno doesn’t have many tourist destinations but one of the most popular ones amongst them is the St. Peter and Paul cathedral. It is hard to miss when one is arriving at the city centre as it overlooks almost the entire city. It is easily accessible via tram and if you’re willing to take up an adventure, then hiking from Hlavni Nadrazi is also an option. It is very picturesque and isn’t overcrowded at all. Most importantly, it has free WC available in its premises.

Great place BUT the kid’s pool is too quite cold. My sons had blue lips while playing in the water. I suppose it wasn’t just us who were cold because many kids used the 2 hot relaxing pools in the back area to warm up a little.
One more thing that I really didn’t like is the too much A/C in the restaurant and bar. When people go there with wet hair and in wet clothes, it really shouldn’t be that cold in there.

The park is nice, well built, a lot of things to do, but the fast track is ... There are around 5-6 normal rafts per slide and another 3-4 available as "fast track rafts" and because of that the waiting line is really long, if you want to go and use the water slides, just don't, we went with that in mind, after 5 hours in the park we managed to go 6 or 7 times... More than that we bought 2 fast tracks just to try the slides...
Indoor slides are bad, really bad, a lot of people got stuck in them (including me), the staff instead of supervising people are guarding the fast track rafts...

Castle Lednice is a magnificent 1800s palace constructed on top of a Renaissance chateau and Gothic fortress. It was owned by the Liechtenstein family for over three centuries until 1945, and remains a popular weekend destination in the country due to its splendid interiors and extensive gardens. The estate boasts formal gardens, an exotic-plant greenhouse, lakes with pleasure boats, and even a mock Turkish minaret that serves as an architectural example of excessive nobility during the 19th century.
Place is absolutely breathtaking and i was there in the winter. I can only imagine what it’s like in the summer when all the flowers bloom. Definitely need to go and see the architecture.

First of all the castle is a beautiful piece of architecture and the inside is also nice. BUT there are many things you should be aware of. The parking is complicated and you need czech coins to pay for it. Then the inside can only be visited with a Czech guide, who only speaks Czech. The castle is divided in part and you need a group tour to visit individually each of those parts. So to visit everything it takes ages. It pretty expensive to see everything with friends or family. The park is quiet and nice. Around 3-4 km to see all of it and reach the minaret by foot and come back. The minaret is also nice and beautiful. But again you need a guide and need to pay separately to see this part. Overall it's a nice place but the way it's organized is not convenient or not turned toward foreigners...

Lednice castle is a small palace in Czech Republic near the Austrian border. The castle itself is simple in design but ornate in fenestration.
It has a large designed garden with trees and shrubs shaped by topiary work and specially designed vistas terminating at various points, most prominent being minaret. They have a green house also.
The township around is small and quiet. It's a good picnic point.
If you are not carrying food you need to be very punctual. All cafes in the palace premises and gardens close at 6 pm and all restaurants in the town, except burger restaurant close at 8 pm. Burger restaurant closes by 9-9.30. No other option in any nearby town other than one or two fast food outlets at the petrol stations on the highway, at least half an hour away.

The tours are pretty good - the same quality that you have a stately homes.
There are options for horse rides and boat rides.

One of the most beautiful places in the Czech Republic in my opinion. Luxurious chambers, beautiful interior and interesting history of the castle. Definitely advise you to visit this masterpiece, despite the relatively expensive tickets.
I want to note that the group was quite large, almost 50 people, but despite this, the guide spoke loudly and everything was heard.
There is also a huge garden where you can take long walks. Awesome place.

Amazing castle, breathtaking views. Perfect for a weekend trip. I recommend booking Tours in advance, as sometimes they are sold out when you arrive. Also, the gardens are amazing, and it is worth taking a walk to the Minaret (take the way on the left side of the lake, it's much shorter).

Amazing! So close and easy to reach from Vienna but hardly any tourists. Landscape and food were amazing! Czech fairytales are becoming true 🥰
The medieval castle of Devín offers stunning panoramic views of the Slovakian countryside, Danube River and across the border to Austria. The grounds surrounding the castle are also well-preserved and provide interesting historical insights into Slovakian Slavic settlement.
Nice views all around the castle. What i find interesting is the original character of the ruins has been kept. The cave has some interesting items on exhibition.
When at the top the view of the river is simply amazing. The climb is also not so difficult but at some points slightly steep. Ticket cost us 6 euro per person which is reasonable. Outside there is ample parking which is free.

Fantastic but relatively hidden gem just 20 min away from Bratislava. It has amazing views of 2 rivers merging on one side and beautiful hills on the other side. One can totally imagine the strategic location and importance of such a castle.
There’s plenty of free parking. You will have to take a short 10-15 min hike to the top for the best views. The tickets are reasonable - 6 euros for adults, 3 euros for kids and seniors. There’s also a family ticket for 12 euros that includes 2 adults and all kids under 14 years. Just about half way to the top, there are some nice interactive demonstrations led by castle staff. There’s small permanent exhibition in the castle. But the view from top is definitely the best highlight.
There are a couple of restaurants right in the parking lot that also serve ice cream.

Lovely castle and grounds. Stunning panoramic views of the Danube. Plenty of walking and steps.
Easy to get to from Bratislava. Catch the 29 bus from most snp. The stop is just under the bridge next to the road.

Just beautiful!!! Serene experience. We were on a short visit to Bratislava and we are glad to have explored this place. Taking the early morning bus to this place, the journey itself began beautifully and the place was just beyond beautiful. Nature at its best. The views of the villages, fields, river (where you can see border with Austria), forests, and the castle. It was amazing. The fresh air, clean water, greens everywhere.. filled my heart and soul with peace. Definitely a must visit place if you are planning to go to Bratislava. The premise has washroom facility, drinking water and lots of benches to rest. It's kids friendly too. Overall a great experience being here.

Sometimes you come across places of outstanding beauty, and this is one such place. Well worth the walk up and €6 to get in and walk around the ruins. I wish I had stayed until sunset as I imagine it would have been spectacular. You can feel the history of the area with each step. It must have been a truly imposing place in its heyday. I would 💯 recommend a visit

Amazing castle, with great views. Toilets are available to use inside. The entrance to the castle is a short walk up hill, there are benches along the route should you need them. We sat on one to have our picnic. The carpark is below the castle and there are restaurants there, ice-cream huts and a small souvenir shop. The entrance fee is not too expensive but not the cheapest castle fee we have paid. You can walk around the castle freely but there is also a guided tour. There are also interesting expositions as you walk around. All in all a good day out!

We got here for opening at 10:00 using the number 29 bus which was quick and easy. I recommend getting there for opening as it was getting quite busy as we were leaving.
The castle itself was impressive and the scenery was stunning, there was also plenty of information on the history of the site (and area), overall this led to a really enjoyable visit. Highly recommend.

We took the boat down and spent two hours at Devin castle, which was great! The place is very beautiful and there is a lot of text around in both Slovak and English. The well is especially cool, and they keep a bucket nearby that you can fill up and dump down. All of the views are amazing, and the site is super interesting. The only downside was that we went on a weekday and there were a ton of school groups running around, but other than that it wasn't very busy.

8 euros and 75 meters up. The climb is neither very steep nor hard. Great view of the Danube and the Morava. The museum is included in the price; we decided to skip them, but you have to buy tickets to enjoy the view.

Really great castle. One of the best sights from the Bratislava card. Best views of the river danube. Lots of interactive activities including archery and armour wearing. A bit far from the city but well worth the travel. Can spend half a day here

Beautiful place, we went on a day trip to Bratislava and found this place. We had time to visit it. It pays to get in. Had a nice walk. It’s children friendly. Great views of the Danube and Morava, honestly I wasn’t expecting that. In the distance is the Bratislava skyline. There are a few other historical sites in there, below the castle. Devin is also cute little village, or rather a borough. Would recommend, also you can eat there, and go down to the rivers. 8-10km from Bratislava center, public transport or by 🚲.

Even though not much of the original castle is left, these ruins are absolutely worth a visit. Easily reachable by car or by public transport from Bratislava, this location offers a small museum, beautiful ruins and stunning views. The 'hike' up the mountain is also not as bad as it seems when standing at the parking lot. Another plus, especially in summer, is the drinking fountain installed on the central square of the castle!

I was surprised at how historically interesting this location was. It's definitely not just a pile of stones. The pathways and information plaques are top notch, and the view on the Morava and Danube colliding is spectacular. There are also numerous walk and bycicle routes nearby

This castle has a history dating back to the Roman period. There is currently not much aside from the structure but the view is indeed worth the price of admission. The castle commands a precious view of the river, town, and surrounding areas and it is indeed peaceful to watch.
