Krzywy Las, also known as The Crooked Forest, is a unique and mysterious site located in Nowe Czarnowo near Szczecin city in Poland. Planted in 1930, the forest features around 400 oddly-shaped pine trees with a distinctive C-shape. Despite numerous theories attempting to explain the unusual shapes of the trees, the mystery remains unsolved. Visitors recommend bringing a picnic lunch and enjoying the special atmosphere of the crooked grove.
Great place although it's only small and there is nothing else around. We still enjoyed walking through the woods

There wasn’t many things to see here. Just like every other forest but with some special looking trees.
I’d give it a 3 stars but our dog would give a 5 stars. Hence a 4.

The trees are really cool, but it’s less than a hectare
Rex Michael Dillon — Google review
The place is quite small, like a backyard. May be 50 crooked tress maximum. It was a good visit. Follow the google map, at first it feels wrong place, but you need park on the side of the road as there is no dedicated parking spot. Just leave the car and start walking in the forest. In 5 mins you will reach the well preserved spot. The route is marked with directions.
Achyut Jhunjhunwala — Google review
The place is overrated. It covers a small area, situated next to a fabric. Could be an option to come and see, if you are traveling around, but for sure not the main destination
Ilmi A. — Google review
The trees are really weird. Curious to see their unique shape and read the story. It is just a small part of the forest but it is a nice walk.
The car park is very small
Stefano Erriu — Google review
One big disappointment. There are some crooked trees but not so many. The city should clean the area from bushes as well. And the kindergarten shouldn't build treehouses on the crooked trees. You can come here if you are going this way anyway but to take a trip only for this is not worth it.
Antoni K — Google review
A nice place but way smaller than expected and not easy to reach. A car is (almost) mandatory!
French Football Traveler — Google review
It's awful. I was fantasizing about visiting the place since i saw a photo in a book 10 years ago. I came to Szczecin for this. As people said already it's 20 trees all together and a lot are cut. Around, you have pipes and smoke of factories. It is at the best a sucessful metaphor of destruction. The beauty is to be seeked elsewhere : good luck.
Leah Lapiower — Google review
If I were a pine tree, I would grow crooked too so no one would want to cut me down. Trees are very smart. Let me mention this.. one day, I was burning leaves and sticks under some trees, and they started dropping drops of water. There were no clouds around, neither.
I'm from the USA, so I haven't visited yet.

Interesting place , on your way you can stop nice little walk in forest , you need to drive nearly to the forest ,

Fantastic. A small wooded area with the crooked trees amazing. There was an information board and it was in English.
Good place to have a stroll with all the family.

A mysterious forest of crooked pine trees?! We drove from Berlin to see this and I am so glad we did!
Advice: 1) bring a picnic lunch. There is a table to eat at and this is a special place to relax. 2) If you have time, make it into a longer hike. The crooked grove is not far from where you park. If you want to hike further, there is a path leading to a river with ducks and herons.
As a Forester, I can't believe that the mystery of the trees is unsolved!
Miche Palmer — Google review
The amazing forest is located in Poland, near the town of Gryfino. On an area of about 1.7 hectares, there is a pine forest with outlandish trees, unlike any other in the world. The name of this forest is just as unusual - "Crooked Forest"
How it happened that trees grow in such an unusual way, no one knows ...
There are several versions of the appearance of this “crooked forest”, one of them is that the pine forest was planted in 1930-34 by the Germans who inhabited these lands before the Second World War, and they also carried out some of their experiments.
According to the second version, the local breeder wanted to grow a forest where no one could get lost, so all the trees are turned to the north. However, until the end, he did not realize his plan, as the Second World War interfered. Perhaps these trees were intended for the production of sledges, just not far from here a sleigh factory operated at one time.
It is said that at the very beginning of the twentieth century, someone was experimenting with the production of "pre-curved" wood. Such wood should have been intended for shipbuilding or for the production of furniture.
There are versions that it was nature at some time with its strong winds that forced the pines to bend in this way, perhaps even breaking them at first, but then the trees still survived and began to stretch upwards towards the sun, creating an arc.
Relaxed zoo featuring 100+ species, a petting zoo, concessions & children's play areas.
I do highly recommend relaxing walks through the park zoo. The arrangement allows you to enjoy observation of animals from the close range, amazing atracion especially for children.

Very nice place for visiting with kids,
You can have very close encounters with monkeys, lamas, goats and ponies, you can also buy food and feed those animals.
There are various playgrounds for little ones so no boredome guaranteed!
You can get some snacks, drinks, ice creams on site.
And very clean toilets!
Entry not so expensive so highly Recommended place to visit!

It was very kid friendly , and very nicely laid out. You could take your dog in aswell which was good, however the 6 Euro charge for a dog ,we did think , in comparison to the 10 euro for an Adult , was not proportional. On the whole a very enjoyable afternoon spent . Would recommend.

Actually I think it's the best ZOO I ever visited as a lot of it is "interactive" - e.g. you get to walk among deer or muflon and... feed them. This together with multiple well organised playground make this ZOO especially recommended for families with children.
Jakub Piwowarski — Google review
Great place to visit and watch animals. My daughter was delighted. Animals have reasonably enough space [if it's ever possible being closed up in a Zoo].
Ania Zochowska — Google review
A very peaceful zoo and not crowded. You may feed some animals roaming around as well like deer and goats.

I never knew that there was something like that in Brandenburg. If you go there in a warm season, make sure to take a boat tour. We were lucky to get the last boat tour this year: it is an unforgettable and unique experience to sit on a boat being lifted to a higher river level! During the boat tour you get guide explanations, so you will still learn a lot even if you prefer the boat to the classical excursion 😉

A lift for cargo ships working the waterways between the Oder and The Havel rivers. One that can lift 6000 tonne of ship and water 36 metres to navigate the differance in water level between the two rivers. Quicker than locks could ever do.
Stephen Pitkin — Google review
This could be 5 star +
We paid 5€ to walk around the old boat lift. Unfortunately all the information boards were in German or Polish. It was amazing to see the huge structure and to see how it worked lifting the boats, both were still in use. However, I found the whole experience a bit of a money spinner, you have to pay to park, pay to activate the App, pay to use the toilet and the only way to see the new boat lift is with a tour guide, but that's only in German! With all this money they are generating they could put some English information out.
There is a small information centre which is free to enter and they had information boards on how it was erected and fortunately it was in English too 👍. The staff member we spoke to was very helpful and fortunately spoke some English which was a great help.

Really interesting place to visit and do not miss the boat ride. It was fun experience to go up the elevator and down as well.

Something different - if in area definitely worth a visit
We did a 3-day road trip around the Brandenburg region and this definitely was a highlight. During our exploring, we saw many beautiful castles, townships and lakes to this was something different.
We were travelling with a Labrador. You can take a dog up. Dog-friendly. At the ticket kiosk, they gave us a pass that gave us entry via the door, rather than the rotating gate.
Parking - there is one main car park - when leaving make sure you get a token (costs 3 euros for a car) from the parking machine next to the toilets, right by the drive-in/ out. Ha ! I thought you had to put 3 euros into the exit barrier machine. ...but no, it just takes the tokens.
Dominik Strobel — Google review
A very impressive building. Giant scale. I advise everyone to visit.

Been here with my son (9 years). Fantastic experience. Even though it was pouring down, we couldn't stop watching. Reasonable price for being allowed to go up.
This 13th-century Gothic monastery in a serene, scenic setting offers exhibits & guided tours.
Beautiful spot, almost mystical, with a wonderful museum, lots of signs are also in English, very pleasant walkthrough. Dog friendly! Eur 15 for family ticket. You need 1 hour for the inside, but there are also many walks to be walked in the surrounding area.

Very well done historical site. Interactive and educational displays throughout. English as well. Be sure to walk outside the main area as well. Along the lake and the cemetery offer some great views.

A gem in the countryside around Berlin. The abbey is imposing, impressive and atmospheric.
Wandering through the rooms really helps you imagine being back in the 14th century.
Do make sure to sit through the recurring screening of the history of the abbey, as it is short and very explanatory.
Antonis Linakis — Google review
Just an amazing place to visit at the weekend with the kids! It's a gothic monastery opened in the 13th century.
It's just half an hour walk from Chorin Bahnhof through the forest and lakes. We really enjoyed it
Olena Rozskazova — Google review
A nicely preserved ruin. You can get a good idea how life may have been in that time.
Have some Euro coins for the parking place. 2 Euro is the minimum. There is no electronic payment yet.
You can go for a nice loop around the lake behind the abbey.
It's also worth to check the events on their website.
Oliver Fricke — Google review
We had an absolutely interesting tour through the tests of the abbey. The cost is 85€ and we’re 5 people. 1,5 hours full of history, interesting facts and stories about the building and the monks that lived in.
After that we had a small lunch at the café. And finished the day with a walk around the lake.
Antonina Reinhold — Google review
Simply charming! The attention to detail, the subtle integration of history and culture, the use as a museum, education and event venue is difficult at best to pull off, and Ms. Siedler and her team have nailed it! I look forward to visiting again, soon.

What a stunning place. When you come late check if it’s still open. Great for taking walks and hiking.
The Gothic Chorin Monastery is a former Cistercian abbey near the town of Chorin, about six kilometers north of Eberswalde in the Brandenburg district of Barnim. It was founded by Ascanian margraves in 1258 and had far-reaching importance on the northern edge of the Ascanian sphere of influence.

A peaceful historic place with lovely nature and interesting architecture. They have a nice cafe with good food. It is at an ideal distance for a day trip from Berlin. Recommend for a family outing or a picnic.
Hiking trails wind through this reserve home to wolves, lynx & moose, plus a children's petting zoo.
Fantastic place, a great tip for a daily trip with the family. The local animals are kept in wild-like surroundings with huge territories. The park also features a restaurant, kids playground and a garden with farm animals. The paths are unpaved so choose the right shoes to wear on a rainy day.
Pavlo Dyban — Google review
Nice place to spend a couple hours outside of Berlin while enjoying nature and observing animals, such as wild boars or wolfs. Unfortunately we were told that all raccoons have died/ fled. It’s a smaller area than we’ve expected. They lost 1 star for letting people enter with whole beer crates in their kid‘s buggy on May 1st. After occupying a nice spot they started get drunk on the middle of the day.

Beautiful grounds, not overcrowded. Relatively large variety and wide area. We saw the Wolves. Also big advantage for children: There is a petting zoo.
Matthias Graf — Google review
Gorgeous wild life park with plenty of space for the indigenous animals. There are no caged unhappy animals here and it is a nice hike amongst nature. Superb playground and petting zoo with goats and good food. They also offer moonlight wolf feeding walks. Educational and relaxing.
Christian Heilmann — Google review
Not as exotic and immediate as the nearby Eberswalde zoo, but a fine, beautiful park with some interesting animals, all of which were at one time native to the area.
Allow plenty of time, as sometimes you have to wait quite a bit to see certain animals, their enclosures are huge. All in all a great summer day out.

Very spacious place, great for a nice walk between fields and forest. It's also great for kids. There are playgrounds, a petting zoo and lots of interesting animals.

I really liked the visit to this place. We were instructed in a Test area and educated on all safety measures and required steps.
Routes 3 to 5 are really cool and simple for any climbing loved out there but 6 & 7 are the toughest but still possible to go thru.
On route 7, I got stuck at the last phase due to a technical issues which made me have to wait for over 30 minutes of going back and forth to try and get down, only to scream for help for a staff to come by and get to me 😂. a rope was stuck so I could probably tell they don't check their courses everytime they open or at least not regularly do I don't recommend going through route 7 due to its dangerousness

Beautiful park with European fauna. One of the highlights are wolf's. They have an exhibition about wolf's pack in the region.
Large complex with indoor/outdoor pools, water slides & a wave pool, plus saunas & a salt grotto.
I love this place. I spend a whole day enjoy this place. Swimming and Sauna. Very relaxing, not crowded, and a lot of attractions to do. Streaming, fountain, wave like in a beach, waterfalls etc. I love waterfalls, because somehow they feels like massage, and I live to do that for my back. And I love the jacuzzi with hot salt water, it's so relaxing for my whole body.
The Sauna is clearly awesome, you can even choose the temperature based on their room. And they make some variation spices/ingredients/smell (salt, honey, mint, herbs, etc) every hour in some sauna rooms.

The thermal baths are easily accessible both by car and by bus, which goes directly there. The spacious, free parking space in front of the thermal baths is a practical plus. The changing rooms are spacious, including family cabins and changing rooms. The newly installed shower rooms offer a pleasant variety, as in addition to the standard shower, which is permanently attached to the wall, there are additional showers that are easy to hold. The variety of pools, the small outdoor area and the children's area make the thermal baths varied. The grotto is particularly impressive. Unfortunately the slides were out of order this time, but they are usually a little highlight. The baby course provided sweet moments as the little ones enjoyed the water with their parents. There is also a wave pool, which completes the experience. If you have forgotten a towel or bathing suit, you can easily buy them on site. The payment machine at the exit makes the checkout process easier. Overall, a recommended thermal spa with a wide range of offerings and good service. 😊

Well deserved spa day after a long bike trip through Uckermark and Schorfheide.
It's a nice and relaxing place. Especially the saunas.
The fun area with slides and wave pool we only checked out quickly. But the sauna was definitely soooo lovely! One of of the steam saunas was a bit cold and not very steamy though.
The cafe has a few swimming pool standards like French fries and baked potato, lots of meats though - could be nice if this was a bit more inclusive to other diets.
Otherwise we had a fun day floating in the salt water, sweating and caring for our tense muscles!

Very fine thermal bath with some very good attractions. An area for the very little ones with a great slide and of course a swimming pool. Brine pool with outdoor area and counter-current system. Plus one inside the bathroom. The highlight of the thermal baths is definitely the wave pool, which even very small bathers really like. The waves are not very strong. Then there are two slides with stretching that give you decent speed, one of which is black. Gastronomy is impressive and there are plenty of places available if the bathroom is not too crowded. I can only say and recommend the thermal baths.

My kids relay enjoy the pools and slides. But you cant really make a day of it because the restaurant is appallingly bad bad, and seems to get worse every year. They only have the lowest quality frozen foods. I payed 50 Euro for 4 people to get only some curry wursts that where so over over processed and pale looking I thought they might actually be vegetarian. Otherwise we had a good time.

We came all the way from Berlin and were not disappointed!
We started our stay with some lunch. Food was good, not overpriced and had decent portion sizes. (Lunch ladies were very friendly and hospitable)
Both the main compartment and the separate spa compartment are great! We felt very comfortable in both settings!
Only downside was that the spa area did not have a thermal water pool.

Very nice thermal baths for young and old, for fun and relaxation. Newly created children's area. Separate baby area with travel cots provided. Unfortunately, the otter enclosure and the outdoor area are not yet finished. The separate sauna area with the many themed saunas are wonderful for relaxing. The massage offering is also impressive in terms of price and performance. The water temperature in the swimming area is very pleasant. The integrated restaurant's offerings are okay, but in my opinion a bit overpriced. In my opinion there is also a bit too little lying space. If you want a little more space and peace and quiet, it's best not to use the fun pool on weekend afternoons or during the holidays.
Still a nice place to visit for the whole family.

I recently visited the thermal bath and wanted to provide some feedback. Firstly, I was disappointed to encounter a strong smell of urine in the toilet area. This was quite off-putting and affected the overall experience. Additionally, I noticed that the inner pools had not been renovated, as I could see old Kalk (lime) residue. It would be great if the management could address this issue to maintain cleanliness and comfort for the visitors.
On a positive note, I appreciated the presence of a friendly personal an a lifeguard at the Wellenbereich. It felt reassuring to know that trained personnel were overseeing the safety of the visitors. Furthermore, the thermal bath offered plenty of space, allowing for a relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere. The slides were enjoyable, providing an element of fun to the experience. However, it was unfortunate that there seemed to be a lack of proper control or supervision around the slides, which could potentially lead to safety concerns. Overall, there were both positive and negative aspects to my visit, and addressing the areas for improvement would enhance the overall quality of the thermal bath.

People who were standing behind me shook their heads and so did I. That was it the last time I drive there with a motorhome! It's a shame, but that doesn't work at all
This was one of the mosz hidden places in the former East-Germany military zone, because first the German Wehrmacht had the main headquarters overthere and after the WWII the Russian Army in Germany stayed there for 49 years! There are a lot of bunkers and other hidden buildings. Make a guided tour around there. After that you can visit one of most exciting book shops ...! Strongly recommended to history interested tourist and locals!

The East Side Gallery is a sprawling open-air art gallery located in Berlin, Germany. Spanning 0.8 miles along the banks of the River Spree, it is home to 101 graffiti paintings by various artists from around the world. Amongst these are some truly iconic murals, such as Dmitri Vrubel's depiction of God helping people Survive This Deadly Love and Thierry Noir's stunning Some Heads Will Roll.
If you ever get to Berlin you just got to visit the wall. Take your time and bring a comfortable pair of shoes. Each painting has to b looked at in detail....I actually recommend you go to the far side of the street to view them.. you will be amazed at just how much detail you will have missed if you don't. Enjoy

It was such an incredible experience to visit the outdoor gallery. Thought provoking paintings 🖼 on the wall by many artists. I love it!!’
I enjoyed walking around the area too. The location of the gallery is ideal. It is not far from the train station and there are plenty of shops nearby. Highly recommended to everyone 🇩🇪

If you are visiting Berlin, you should go see the remains of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery. You can find it easily on a sightseeing bus tour if you don't feel comfortable finding it on your own.Artists from all over the world have painted lots of pictures on a long part of the Wall, and there are many different ones to see. You can take pictures and learn more about it. The Gallery is a very special place that helps you understand how big the Wall really is. Don't skip it.

Truly great place to visit. The art work on the Berlin Wall is amazing. This is a real piece of history and you can only just imagine what it was like before the wall was torn down. If you go to Berlin this is an absolute must to visit. Plus there is a nice cafe right next to it. Martha's Cafe. If it hadn't started pouring rain I would have stayed longer but I will definitely be revisiting on my next trip.

The wall has a great history in itself which anyone visiting there would be keen to know and the art done on the wall is amazing. It is so beautiful. It feels like just grab a drink and take a good amount of walk along the wall. It was a great adventure for me to see the beautiful graffiti.

A huge open air gallery erected upon the remains of the wall that once divided the city. No entry ticket required
You’ll find all sorts of colorful and interesting art within this long stretch, a lot of which is related in some way to Berlin’s past and the Cold War era in general
If you start at the end closer to Alexanderplatz you’ll find that most of the more famous murals are located towards the end so be ready to walk

A walk down memory lane. Emotionally intense. please do not stop only in front of the most famous part, take a bit more time to go further. The wall is history, not only some kind of checklist for tourist. So take a few steps … It really worth it - and it s less crowded !!

The East Side Gallery in Berlin is like a time-traveling street art history lesson. This stretch of the Berlin Wall is covered in awesome graffiti that tells a powerful story of unity beating division. Seriously, every mural is like a punch in the feels. It's emotional, man! When you go, just know it can get crazy busy, so maybe hit it up when the crowds aren't as nuts for a more chill vibe.
Katerina Pikouli — Google review
A casual walk down a portion of the infamous Berlin Wall, accompanied by the rich street-art heritage of the city, directly derived from the division and sorrow it caused and by the relief of its downfall.
What better way to transform an unnatural barrier, a projection of ultimate control and repression, that to transform it into a raw canvas for all generations to admire - the metamorphosis of sorrow into art.
Andrei Acsinia — Google review
You can't miss this point of Berlin. It's very cool to see parts of what once was the Berlin eat and now see all the graffiti and beautiful views from the river. The wall museum, on the start of the strip, is all very cool and gives us a very good scope of the history of the wall. If you're visiting the museum, allow at east 2 hours for it if ou like reading all the things.

The East Side Gallery in Berlin is a captivating testament to freedom and creativity. Stretching along a remaining section of the Berlin Wall, it showcases over a hundred murals by artists from around the world. Each artwork tells a story of hope, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit. A must-see for both art enthusiasts and history buffs alike, the East Side Gallery offers a powerful and visually stunning experience that resonates long after the visit.

The East Side Gallery stands as a captivating testament to Berlin's history and creativity. As the longest remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall, it serves as a striking canvas for over 100 artworks created by artists from around the globe. A stroll along this painted concrete barrier is a journey through history and diverse artistic expressions. The East Side Gallery is a must-visit for any traveler looking to experience Berlin's vibrant culture and tumultuous past.
Nazif Junuzovic — Google review
This is a long stretch of the wall which has been given to artists to paint in sections. The side of the wall along the main road has in excess of 100 murals with differing themes but freedom stands out the most.
On going around today there are 3 sections which have been painted over so I guess someone will paint a mural in them.
Currently there are some building works going on and about 150 metres has protection from the road however the wall is still there to see. This section of the wall has had the mural
defaced with graffiti.
The rear of the wall is blank apart from general graffiti. There is an ornate iron gate also built into wall.
There is a grass area behind the wall with places to sit and a footpath that runs alongside the River Spree.
I went about 1pm and it was fairly busy. The busiest part was the image of the leaders kissing.
Well worth seeing and only 10 minutes walk from the East Side Mall.
Venula Tharusha — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking and very very deep. It's amazing to see how much of die Mauer is still standing today; painted over with beautiful, meaningful murals from artists all around the world. This place holds so much meaning and worth without needing any words to explain it. It's still extremely hard to believe how it separated Berlin just over 30 years ago. It is very easy to access via the U2 and being free, it is a must go to for any visitor to Berlin

The East Side Gallery is a must-see for anyone visiting Berlin. It is the longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall, and it is now a permanent open-air gallery with over 100 murals painted by artists from all over the world.
The murals depict a wide range of themes, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to peace and love. They are a powerful reminder of the Cold War and the importance of freedom.
The East Side Gallery is free to visit, and it is located in a very convenient location, just a short walk from the Berlin Ostbahnhof train station. It is a popular tourist destination, so it can get crowded, but it is still worth the visit.
I highly recommend taking some time to walk along the East Side Gallery and see the murals for yourself. It is a truly unique and moving experience.

The perfect place to immerse yourself in the authenticity of the Berlin Wall.
.
We stayed at the hotel right next to the wall and found the park and wall remains amazing.
.
Here you can really begin to imagine the divide between the east and west side and picture the true scale of the wall along the main street.
.
The street art now dominates the remains and this in itself is a real treat to absorb.
.
100% this is the place to visit to experience the 'wall'

Historic place, one of the last pieces of the Wall of Berlin that is still in the original location. Amazing artworks from various graffiti artists.
The best part, it's open air and free to visit. Just try to arrive a bit early so that you don't have to wait in order to take pictures
Such a pity that they allowed property development literally on top of this monument. But I guess money makes the world go around and Berlin officials are obviously notorious money grabbers.

Walls are famous for their very existence. Important historical place which associated the different sides of the city though people, culture was identical. Artists have portrayed a lot of interesting things on the wall. It's a bit crowded and one must be careful as the pedestrian path isn't wider.

The iconic east side gallery is home to some very well known street art. A large open air gallery that once was the berlin wall. Is 1316 metres long and it accommodates art from 118 artists from 21 countries. It officially opened as an open air gallery on 28 September 1990. Just over a year later, it was given protected memorial status.
Ouranio Anastasiou — Google review
I liked the wall as a gallery. It's a pity that it still carries sad historical meanings, but the artists reinterpreted it well, so it was interesting. It's a shame that many works by Russians were presented, as Russians are now showing aggression, so the works were interpreted differently. A lot of attention was paid to only one work and there is a whole queue to take pictures, but if you, like us, came to see not only that work, you will be interested, there is also something else to see. This is just a small part of the works that impressed me.

Easily reachable and within a couple of minutes walk of the Ostbahnhof railway station, or one of the many ‘hop on, hop off’ tour buses this really is an ionic part of living history.
The last remaining parts of the Berlin Wall still in its original location, with some thought provoking and moving street art.
Reconstructed Western town with archery, shooting & stagecoach rides, plus live cowboy performances.
Very nice amusement park! The kids had fun all the time and the shows were very well done.
Jaime Mendez — Google review
We went on Sunday and paid the 39 euros for a family ticket. The scenery is nicely done to look like the wild west and people are dressed in costumes. Unfortunately the cost to use each thing inside in my opinion is way too expensive after already paying to go in. Even the trampolines are charged. The shows were fun and some of the staff friendly but some seemed very grumpy. Lots of things were closed or not on offer- no waffles, crepes, ice creams not in stock, marshmallow fire pit closed etc, the big main restaurant was closed too and it really looked a little dead, not much hustle and bustle that would give the place more life. The idea is fun but too expensive for what is on offer.
Jessica Torres Bueno — Google review
Bus 509 does not run unless you call and book 1hr earlier, it was such an unpleasant experience to come by public transport, together with two 8yrs old children we ended up walking 4km back and forth to the train station. As the owner of the theme park you should seriously consider providing shuttle bus to train station and make them run frequently, not like bus 509 which only runs 3 times a day.
Update: Yes, I should not judge the theme park by public transport only. I have updated my review to reflect my opinion.
Pros: my children liked the theme park.
Pros: almost all staff are friendly to children.
Cons: the pony jockey does not seems like our children, he faced with other kids with smile, told my children "behind the bench!", at the same time.
Cons: the expense is a bit on the high side, paid for the entry, and then paid for different attractions, for example, shooting 5 arrows costs 1 star, pony ride 1 star, 1 bratwurst+pommes=5euro

I hope that everything I didn't like about this place was because of Corona.
Show was great.
Pay attention. Except entrance fee, in order to ride a pony or throw lasso, or mine gold - you have to buy a card with stars. 25 euro - 10 stars. each attraction - 1 star. Free of charge - pet zoo with goats(bunnies are always inside, you can't pet them), playground.
At 14 30 there were NO food and 2!! snack stores. NO FOOD at all. Even though there were supposed to be open until 5 and the whole park is open until 6. At 5 all attractions where closed.
We really had to rush to spend all our stars because all attractions are closed at the time of the show and there's not much time left to do them
The 368-meter tall Berliner Fernsehturm, opened in 1969, is a tourist attraction located in the former East Berlin district that is well-known for its 360 panoramic deck views of Berlin. The Tower was originally built to serve as a broadcasting tower for television signals, but since the fall of the GDR in 1989 it has become more popular as a symbol of reunification.
Great 360° views from the viewing platform. With hindsight, we'd have done this earlier in the trip to help get orientated. Some of the routes we'd taken to places were bizarre looking down on them 🤣.
If you have the Berlin Welcome Card, you get a discount on entry here.

The view is amazing!! The place is very organized and all staff working there very polite. I did not spend much time in the line to buy the ticket and take the lift. The price is a little expensive and if you don’t visit the restaurant you might spend 1 hour for the tour max. For sure it is a very nice place to visit!

Ticket costs about 21 euros but the experience is well worth the cost. You can download a tiny app to your smart phone for an enhanced experience. On a clear day you can see a long ways in every direction. Helpful signs inform you about things of interest. A restaurant and bar are available as well as a clean bathroom.
Rob Tulloh — Google review
Very busy area but not a lot of genuine tourist activity. Some shops and some restaurants but lots of people hanging around appearing as if they have nothing to do. If you want a view from the tower I saw nothing negative. You will find the usual tourist vendors. Great views of the tower from down below.
Jeffrey Scott — Google review
The tower offered a really lovely panoramic view of Berlin. We went at night, but did not feel like we've missed anything, as there is an app that shows what exactly you're looking at and gives you more information (you can even see where the entire Berlin Wall was located!). The elevator ride was really smooth and fast, considering the height of the tower.
Andreea Mircea — Google review
Great experience to see the Berlin city view from the top of the tower and that too from a very good height. The view from the elevator while reaching at the top was quite stunning and spectacular.
One can also buy souvenirs from the ground floor. There is a restaurant at the top floor but it was closed at that time. If you have a very less time to see Berlin then from this tower one can see almost everything that he/she has missed.

For 25 euros I was able to visit the observation platform (200 meters high). On a clear day the view is fantastic. I would recommend to make an online reservation to avoid the long lines.

Amazing views from this iconic structure. A fast lift carries you to the viewing deck, with window on top of the lift to see the rate of ascent! Views guided by an informative series of pictures mapping out key locations and buildings. Bar area is part of the viewing gallery. The sky restaurant is the level above.
Tickets can be bought in advance or from a machine at the entrance, with an entry time linked to the ticket number. Queue for the lift to get up and down did take a while but there was no pressure to rush once up there, and you could take as long as you wanted to enjoy the view.

Nice view from Berlin. It has inidications of important points, but some are really far and you can't actually see them very clear. Is not expensive to go to the top. I haven't gone to the bar or restaurant although. Also, it always has a lot of people, so you have to wait a little some time to get a space to have a nice view or be able to read the explanations.
Venula Tharusha — Google review
A fabulous visit to the restaurant at the top of the tower. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was really exciting to enter with a great feeling both of going back in time to the 1970s and also visiting the future!
The views are amazing and the food was really good too. 90 minutes is plenty of time although we were allowed to stay longer as our table wasn’t booked by anyone else so we could squeeze in desert!
We all had a great time creating lots of happy memories together.

We walked a lot during our visit to Berlin. Of course, you can't miss the 368-meter tower called the Berliner Fernsehturm. It was opened in 1969. It has an extremely beautiful view of Berlin from the viewing gallery. There is also a restaurant here.
Bogdan Marcelan — Google review
We booked a window seat in advance at the restaurant which gave us the great views in the spinning restaurant (full cycle in 30 minutes). We had a decent meal to go along with 90 minutes or so of great evening views across Berlin. Well worth going to and i would book the restaurant again. We were able to go to the viewing platform on the floor below as part of the experience, but busier times this may not be allowed.
Peter Thompson — Google review
It has a very nice view of Berlin. You enjoy the experience better if you have a meal at the restaurant with a window view. However, getting a reservation for the restaurant is quite hectic as many people reserve about 4 weeks in advance. It is recommended to book early if you would love to use the restaurant.
The virtual reality tour is also great to learn more about the history of Berlin. I recommend it.
Martha Teye — Google review
The tv tower is very nicely built.
The architecture of it looks great.
Even after so many years.
We booked a ticket for seven pm to the observation deck.
The experience is quite disappointing.
Well don't get me wrong. It is very very well managed. We get in and get out very smoothly.
The major drawback is there's Nothing to see.
Nothing exciting at all.
Normally we would expect some outdoor air. But there is no such thing at all.
The viewing angle is very much limited. I'm talking about up and down. The left and right because is it old building? So the class is very small.
You cannot even get a good picture from it.
Being at many of the high buildings roof deck. This is one of the worst experience one.
I think it's kind of waste of money and time.
But the people there are pretty nice.
The food stand downstairs are pretty nice too. We went to the Turkish kabab
called donor Which is a cross street inside the train station.
I also ask the staff is it possible to go to 250 meters observation deck
He said of course it is possible but not open to public at this time. I am wondering it will be a quite good experience if we can go to 250 meters which is our door too. lol

203m up in the sky, the view is mesmerising, tickets are €26 and they are worth it. It's better to buy them in advance. Be there around 10 minutes before the hour slot you've booked.
Andrea Bozhilova — Google review
Iconic place in Berlin, a must-see if you're around.
Without thinking about the iconic status, the price could be a bit better, it's 25€ for the most basic ticket. Booking online is highly recommended because the lines can get long and they have time slots.
When entering the building you're presented with a large area with some stairs that goes into the elevators and some plaques explaining the history of this tower, construction and purpose.
The lifts are very quick (you feel it in your ears) and take roughly 8-10 people at the time and there's 2 of them. Basically the waiting time to board them is quite short but always dependent on how many people are in line.
Once you arrive at the top you're greeted with stunning 360 ° views of the city and because you're way up there, you'll see past the city as well. In every window there's a plaque with photos detailing what you're seeing with a brief explanation of each landmark/building.
There's also a restaurant one floor above and a bar which are great additions to this place.
Highly recommend!
Samuel Vaz — Google review
Possibly one of the must see visit attractions in Berlin, recommend you buy your tickets online before hand to avoid queuing.
We arrived approximately 15 mins earlier than our allotted time but this didn’t seem to be a problem. I would advise not buying on the day as the queue was up to an hour.
Some fantastic views over the city, you may have to be patient to get a good shot if it’s busy, as everyone is muscling in to get a good view!
Museum Island in Berlin is a small island that contains five prominent museums. All of the museums are built between 1824 and 1930 and have been renovated many times since then. The exhibits in these museums include a wide range of art and cultural history spanning over 6,000 years. Just opposite Museum Island, Berlin's magnificent Berlin Cathedral is also located.
If you have little time in Berlin then, after Brandenburg gate you must head to Museum Island. It houses five museums and also the famous Berlin Cathedral. The Alexander Platz is just next door. It is now connected to Brandenburg Tor through a Metro. In vicinity their are plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy and relax.

If you like culture this is the most perfect place for you!!
The museums are all stunning - the Altes museum is very beautiful, sadly the first floor with the Roman artefacts wasn't open but the Greek section on the ground floor was beautiful. The gift shop is small and cute. The toilets are a bit dirty and run down though.
The Neues museum is absolutely amazing - the rooms are so beautiful and the bust of Nefertiti is breathtaking. It has an incredible selection of Egyptian artefacts.
Our tickets for the whole museum island were 12€ (student) and 24€ (non student).
The gardens at the gallery are also very beautiful.
The entire island is a really nice place to spend time at and it is beautiful overall!

Incredible museums, another must if you’re visiting Germany! The history and amount of statues, relics, and paintings they have is some of the largest in the world. Roman and Greek statues, were by far the best part. Berlin Dome was equally incredible.
Beware you can by an all-in-one ticket for all museums which can save you a lot of money! Cafes in the museums were great too. Very walkable as well.

3 stars only because it's not for everybody, it's an impressive collection but everything and everyone was in complete silence making it uncomfortable to look and share impressions if you are not alone. There's nothing interactive at all in the museum and after seeing 70% of everything, we just left because at the time all sculptures/paintings/objects were about religion christianity. There are lots of young people making studies about pieces as well. So it's definitely a place to study and reflect. Don't expect any tiny drop of fun. Nonetheless visit anyways, at least you can say, "i was there!"

Just amazing and worths not a single visit, but many visits. Requires days to see everything.
But it is really unfortunate that Pergamon Museum will be closed for so long, until 2027. I totally understand that it is good that the museum will have renovation. But I would like to see it anyway.
Well, there are still many good museums in the island to visit. For example, I went to Altes Museum and spent 2 hours just there.
You can also get a discount if you are a student, including university, with a valid ID. I am talking about a 50% off. You can buy separate tickets for museums, but if you will give a day to island, go for the island whole day ticket, so you can visit all the museums for a way cheaper price.

Very beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere. Nice grassed area to sit and enjoy the view with lots of talented artists performing music and other shows.
Tip: the first Sunday of every month is free to visit all museums but I would recommend booking online prior otherwise there will be a few hours waiting time or fully booked!

Berlin Cathedral is a massive, towering building with an impressive dome that is open to the public to explore. Constructed in the New Baroque style, the cathedral is one of Berlin's most important tourist attractions and is home to some of the city's most famous royal tombs.
You can’t pass by this piece of architecture art and not stop to appreciate this beauty. Seriously like where do I start?! The design? The colours? The location? I keep taking pictures of it and all I see is charm and beauty every time I look at it. See how beautiful it is at night in my other photos here.

Really nice place €9.00 per adult for the Cathedral and the dome. You can stay in the Cathedral as long as you like but when go up to the dome there is a one way system up one set of stairs and down another so when you come down you can't go back up. Be aware that there are approximately 270 steps to the dome but when you get there the views are brilliant

Can’t believe that you have to pay €10 for entry. It’s a stupid business of rubbing tourists rather then a religious place.
Anyhow we paid and entered but it’s not worth for €10. All I love the dome from inside so beautiful. Other than that nothing touch me.

Absolutely stunning cathedral. It was a marvelous structure with a very solemn feel inside. Beautiful views of the city from the top. Only 10€ to enter.

Nice lawn area out front to relax and enjoy a nice afternoon. Going inside had an immense organ - one of the largest world wide. If you're healthy, take the time to walk up the stairs up the tower to get a great view of Berlin.

This is one of the most beautiful places one can go in Berlin. It is soo beautiful from inside. There is also an option to go to the top to have a nice aerial view of Berlin for which you can take around 270 steps up the Cathedral. There is a cafe and washroom available at the exit, but you can either go up, check the view and come back down or directly exit towards cafe. I would say definitely to check out the view from top. The entry fee is 9 euro for adults, for students 7€. It is better to book the ticket online a day before and you will get 1 hour to spend inside and I think it is sufficient to check out everything.

Arriving in time to hear the organ of the basilica. The building is interesting and worth a visit, but I have seen many more beautifully decorated ones.
What you shouldn't miss, however, is a walk around the dome. Fantastic views!
You can't take photos or move around during important ceremonies.

Like many cities in Europe, churches feature prominently. Historic churches are common.
Berlin Cathedral has a wonderful external appearance, and the interior does not disappoint.
I am sure that people of Lutheran faith take great pride in their Berlin Cathedral, and so they should.
I was taken by the intricacy of both the outside and inside of the building.
It is worth a half hour or more when visiting Berlin.

Berliner Tor is an outstanding structure which is just as beautiful inside as it is outside.
To visit, it coats roughly 10 euros each but this is super worth it. You are able to traverse the cathedral and make your way all the way to the top which is super fun! The view from the top is brilliant!

Beautiful place. You can buy tickets at the entrance in the automat (10€ regular and 7,50€ reduced price). You can also go to the view point after you looked around:) definitely worth it, you can make nice photos and take a glance at Berlin from height. Have a nice experience!

Views from the top are definitely worth the climb. There’s a line to buy tickets if you haven’t pre-purchased, but it moves quickly. They were only accepting cash at the time I visited

Another must see in Berlin. Its architecture is just breathtaking. We had limited time in the city. So, we unfortunately could not enter but it is in my bucket list for next time. I would love to enjoy the panoramic view and the architecture inside.

Beautiful cathedral steeped in history. The interior has lots of space and light and has immensely amount of details. It's recommended to book for a timed ticket online prior to visiting. You also have the option of travelling up to the sides of the dome (267 steps, with no lift assistance - but highly worth it) which offers spectacular panoramic views of Berlin.

This was one of the top places in Berlin to visit. You had to buy tickets at a machine outside the cathedral. An adult ticket was €9 and got in up to three children for free. The inside was beautiful. But climbing 270 stairs to the dome have beautiful views, with the climb.

September was really great for visiting Berlin and its many attractions. The Berlin Cathedral is certainly one of them that should not be overlooked. I was very happy with the relaxation of the young people, who sat on the lawn in front of the magnificent 200-year-old lady.

The Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom, is an architectural marvel that stands proudly along the River Spree. Its grandeur and intricate detailing are truly impressive. The interior is equally stunning, with beautiful mosaics and a magnificent dome offering breathtaking views of the city. Visiting this historic cathedral is a must for anyone exploring Berlin, as it showcases both religious and architectural significance in a captivating way.

This cathedral is spectacular and well worth the 10euro entrance fee.
Tickets can be bought on site. We were there in October so it wasn't busy and no wait to get tickets or admitted.
If you are up to it, you can climb the 288 steps to the top observation deck however once you start up, there is no turning back. It is a challenging climb and the final sets of staircases are winding and narrow. Take your time.
Once at the top the views are wonderful.

Amazing place with a very very good veiw , with a very big park in front of it and the river beside it. There is a beautiful structures , too many people are there. You should go on the weekend. You can enter the cathedral by buying a ticket then enter and go upstairs and see all the city from above.

Beautiful place. Sorrounded also by an art gallery, museum, garden and scenery bridge with markets. The tram connection close by, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. I just love how the whole place is designed. One stop for tourists and a must see. Great architecture😍🤩

Berlin Cathedral is seriously stunning! Every time I walk by, I can't help but stop and stare. The architecture is incredible - so grand and detailed, it almost looks like something out of a fairytale. Even if you're not super into churches, it's definitely worth checking out the inside - the ceilings are insane, and the view from top is incredible!

There aren’t enough adjectives to describe my reaction upon entering. It was like my eyes received a gift and now they’re forever grateful. Because this gift isn’t just the magnificent beauty, it’s knowing that humans worked meticulously on the finest details. It might have taken an entire generation or more just planning and preparing. Could something similar even be constructed today?
And the panoramic view was well worth the 200+ steps. Another very gracious gift this cathedral has offered.

From the moment I laid eyes on the breathtaking architecture of Berlin, I knew I was in for a treat. The attention to detail, the grandeur, and the timeless elegance truly make it a world-class destination. Although I didn’t get a chance to step inside, the exterior alone left me in awe. The natural lighting effects further enhanced the beauty, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. Berlin’s old architecture holds a certain charm and majesty that’s hard to find elsewhere, making it a must-visit for any architecture enthusiast. This incredible city has effortlessly found its place on my bucket list, and I can’t wait to return and explore more. Thank you, Berlin, for an unforgettable experience!

Absolutely stunning cathedral & a must see when visiting Berlin!
This is a breathtaking cathedral with cheap tickets for admission, and lockers for bags and coats. There is also a panorama view of the city for which you have to climb around 250 steps but it is totally worth it! There is also a cafe and toilets. The photos attached do not do it justice!

My favorite monument in Berlin. I never went inside but I always enjoyed staring at the gorgeous architecture and well maintained dom whenever I passed by. I could never get enough of it no matter how much I looked at its beauty. Seriously a masterpiece building. The bridge near it and the other historical museum buildings are beautiful and worth seeing as well.

An impressive, elegant building in the very heart of the city, with lots to explore and discover. Beautiful architecture and decorations, and an eerly serene atmosphere inside, which encourages reflection. The €10 entrance ticket includes the 360' panoramic view from the top (267 stairs to climb!!) which really is the cherry on the cake, as you get to see Berlin in all its glory. A great experience which I strongly recommend.

Not a lot to see on the inside. Only worth the 10 Euros if you plan to climb the steps to look out over the city. Gift shop is small with limited offering of items. Coffee shop on site with seating available by river. Restrooms are available for an additional .50 Euros. Somewhat clean but, but charging after paying the entrance fee does not seem necessary. Easily accessible by public transportation. Across the river from the DDR museum. Walkable from the Alexanderplatz tower. Avoid any shell game scams you may encounter in the area.

Unbelievable Building. Beauty Personified. Magical. Owe-Inspiring. Wonder. Thought-Provoking. That's just some of the words that come to mind when you first walk into the Berliner Dom, look up and see the roof. It's an amazing Cathedral in general, we've been to a few, in the UK and all around the world but this was something special. I loved the Alter area with the red and gold and Christmas Tree. We even decided to climb the 264 steps to the roof to get 360 panoramic views of Berlin. Whilst on holiday we've done a few views but this was, by far, the best. Every single angle you got a different picture. Something different to look at. Well worth the climb.

Surpassed our expectations vastly. The staff are lovely and are keen to help where needed and had expert knowledge on Berlin, the view of the dome from inside is incredible and pictures cannot describe it. The walk to the top is well worth it with the obvious note of the 200+ steps it takes to go up and then back down it, however for the cheap entry fee it provided us with a great view of Berlin and of the cathedral.
The Pergamon Museum is a historic museum located in Berlin, Germany, which houses collections of ancient art from the Near East. The 2nd-century Pergamon Altar is the main attraction at the museum, and features a frieze depicting scenes from Greek mythology.
Definitely worth visiting this museum. It is amazing what they were able to reconstruct inside of the building. It opens at 10 am, you can enter the building via a side door in the right side of the stairs. The audio is free, so make sure to pick it up. Also: try to get your ticket online since there are dedicated time slots for entering.

Before the renovation, I had a chance to visit this astonishing amazing museum. If you’re interested in Aegean- Mediterranean archeology and history , here’s a must see for you. After visiting this museum I was so motivated to work more detailed at my art works. The color palette, combination of motifs and geometry of Islamic artworks are very unique and different than European ones. I was so glad to be able to experience different art movements at the Museum Island.
Don’t skip these museums when you’re in Berlin.

I spend 3 hours in the museum. I wanted to see the whole place before they close it for renovation, so I took my time. I got the audioguide and went through the entire museum listening to each recording. It was a great way to see all the exhibits and I recommend doing that if you have time.

One of the most interesting museums I have ever been to. Would surely recommend to anyone who likes history. Alot to learn and much beauty to admire. It took us about 3 hours without rushing and we were able to walk through all the exhibits.
TIP: Make sure to carry an A4 size bag if you would like to carry some water or any thing else inside with you.
There is a coat check area and lockers for bigger bags. You just need 1-2 Euro to access them which you can get back at the end of your tour. Enjoy!

A definite must-see when in Berlin. The descriptions of everything are in English and German. It was a bit disappointing that the Pergamon Altar was closed when we went, but we knew that in advance. It was well worth the ticket costs regardless. You could easily spend an entire day there, but we had tickets to other museums as well for the day, so we were only there for about 2.5 hours. I understand why it’s so controversial. It’s sad to know other cultures lost pieces of their history for these things to be here. However, it’s definitely worth the time and money to see such a well preserved collection of history from around the world, no matter your feelings on it. Such a cool place to learn about history of many different cultures!

It’s great museum to get insights about ancient life and culture. It contains very rich exhibitions. The museum is very beautiful inside and outside. Prepare to spend around one-two hours here. Better to buy tickets in advance as possible to meet long queues. Definitely mast see place in Berlin and inside of Museum Island. And better to visit Pergamonmuseum Panorama in the same time.

Wow! You need to go to the Panorama exhibition first which is only 10 minutes away to get the full impact of this museum. Whilst I believe artefacts should remain in their original location I have to confess that having the opportunity to see the tiles, freezes and the temple was terrific. I am in awe of the skills required by the stonemasons to produce such wonderful work. You need to book your time as they sell out very quickly and restrict numbers. Worth purchasing the Berlin Welcome card which includes museums on museum Island and transport. The Panorama Exhibition was extra.

It was amazing museum. I wish we could see the sculptures in origin locations. But the museum is good idea to protect them. My advise that you should take your ticket before the visiting day. Because you couldn’t find any ticket in same day. It takes nearly two hours.

A wonderful museum, not so big, but very well organized. It contains a lot of unique collectibles and antiquities, and they have a very wonderful gift shop. The special thing about this museum is that many of the important antiquities were originally stolen and they claim that these pieces were purchased from some merchants or owners, but what I cannot understand is: Who owns the Ishtar Gate!! They make millions of euros every month from possessions that do not even belong to them.

A very nice museum. However, since reducing in size, it was very crowded inside. Even though it's necessary to book a time slot, it seems that these slots are still very full, so it was a bit overwhelming with how many people were inside at one time. The islamic culture section was really beautiful, and the main halls too of course.
I can recommend it for the price and the culture for sure!

Not a bad place. Not too big but enough to see. Pictures attached.
It has very good disability access and the staff are very friendly.
You need to leave your bags in lockers and need a euro or a 2 euro coin, which is returned after you take your stuff back out.
Very bright and airy.
Great perspective with the life size exhibits.
Worth a visit but it isn't free.

If you haven't seen this museum till now, don't lose the chance to get familiar with the awesome history of great ancient human civilizations, it also can be interesting for kids or teenagers. Apparently it is gradually getting under construction section after another section, unfortunately I missed some important parts due to the reconstruction work, later on I had to check the missing parts on the original video & virtual tour of the museum.

Museum has so much collection of historical antique items.
Ishtar gate is the main attraction and it's beautiful and huge.
Also the Roman market fascade is huge and it's well preserved in museum.

Very much recommended museum in Berlin.
Gendarmenmarkt is a stunning square in Berlin, attracting over 600,000 visitors annually to its renowned Christmas market. Nestled between impressive buildings like The Deutscher Dom, the Konzerthaus, and the Franzosische Friedrichstadtkirche, it exudes a magical ambiance reminiscent of Dr. Seuss' Whoville during the holiday season.
Checkpoint Charlie is an iconic spot in Berlin, now a tourist attraction with a museum that details the life and history of the Berlin Wall. The landmark was one of the main American military strongholds in the city during the Cold War, and is still worth visiting for its historical value.
This has to be one of my favorite historical places in Berlin for me.
The reason is that it conveys the message of that cold war era Berlin where we had divisions and how things have improved for good now.
It gives me hope that if people get united then we can definitely break all the borders and u it together as a single nation comprising of different race, ethnicities and religions.
This is a must visit especially during the day so you can capture better pictures 📸

Checkpoint Charlie was one of the most iconic border crossings between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, and for good reason. The site is well-maintained and informative, and it provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Berlin Wall.
The museum at Checkpoint Charlie is a great place to learn about the history of the border crossing. There are exhibits on the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, and the people who tried to cross the border illegally. There is also a replica of the guardhouse that was used by the Americans.
Outside the museum, there is a large concrete slab that marks the former border between East and West Berlin. You can also see the watchtowers that were used by the East German border guards.
If you are interested in history, then Checkpoint Charlie is a must-see. It is a powerful reminder of the Cold War, and it is a fascinating place to learn about the history of Berlin.

It is an important spot that reminds us of the city's past when it was split into two parts. Visiting here lets you feel the strength and bravery of people during the Cold War. It’s right next to the Mauermuseum, which shares exciting escape stories and the desire for freedom. It’s a great place for anyone who loves history or wants to understand more about important events. It also shows the story of how Berlin was divided but is now together again. A trip here is not just educational but also very moving, giving you a look into Berlin's tough past.

Not just a memorial but also a free open air museum, which is perhaps the best way to tell the story of the Wall. With text, photos, video and audio, it tells stories that happened literally beneath your feet as you walk the pleasant, quiet park surrounds. An excellent place to spend an hour.

A very nice piece of German history.
The pillars that have been placed show where the wall used to be, and clearly give a picture of the separation of these two parts.
On the floors you will see red bricks showing the places where the tunnel used to be not so long ago.
In certain places you can find small screens that are activated with a button and start playing a short film with useful content and difficult moments when citizens try to jump from the balcony in the hope of salvation.
I definitely recommend to visit if you are visiting this city.
The Topography of Terror museum is located on the site of the former headquarters of the Nazi's notorious SS and Gestapo. It contains a preserved section of the former Berlin Wall, as well as exhibits about the site's role as a place of terror during WWII.

Typography of Terror was an enlightening display of the history of WW2. It was very well presented in English and German with a very thorough audioguide in many other languages.
I couldn’t help but think how challenging it must have been for German historians to honestly retell the horrors their country and leadership inflicted on their own people and their neighbours.

Another symbol of world war 2!! It puts things into perspective when you read the history of "The Berlin Wall" 🧱 It truly was an awful time, so much cruelty. Things were done, that's dehumanizing! I often wonder 🤔 what the young people think when you see them here looking at all the History.

Topography of terror, a museum and a memorial, that provides a written information with photographs or you can take an audio guide, that tells about the horror times in our history. Around that place you can see the crushed stones. It was mentioned in the audio guide, that this kind of place should never be covered by grass with time. People should not forget it and must never let it happen again.

Beautiful and diverse paintings on a piece of history, really fun to see, very picturesque, and for free! My only issue was how touristy it was there but I suppose that's to be expected from such a notable place. What I appreciate, though, was how respectful other people were when taking pictures - they'd politely wait until you took your pictures and only then they would walk by. Very nice! Another detail I liked about the wall was that there were names of the paintings and artists written in front of the paintings.

The most haunting place I have ever been to. Some of the most horrifying things humans have ever done to each other happened on this site and other places like it. Nazism and the far right must be defeated again now as much as ever. NEVER AGAIN! Probably could have picked a better day, but the sheer scale and size is simply breathtaking… can be a bit icy and slippery in winter, but highly recommend the audio tour so you can understand the various buildings (some demolished), as well as gain some perspective on the lives of those who were interned here. Its mind blowing to consider that in the timeline of history, this wasn’t actually that long ago..

Startling reminder of what happened. A very open and personal way to explore the camp, no fixed routes so you're free to take your time and visit areas as you like. Many, many artefacts, descriptions and first hand accounts which leave you asking time and time again how this could happen. Highly recommend the audio guides which give much more insight than just reading as you go, with options to delve deeper into areas that you want to hear more about. Not a place for young children or anyone in a rush.

Some of our group didn't want to visit. But it was as "nice" as it can be... A place for reflection...
Most of the buildings have fallen apart. For example we saw the ovens only from photos and some remainings. In most of the cases it had only written witnesses or a scheme to describe tortures.

Interesting bit of German history. Important to go and learn about some WW2 history and show some respect to the victims of the war. A lot of buildings were taken down, tour guide informed a lot about the history of the place. A few remains of crematoriums, soviet monument, rooms and workstations.

Only 4 barracks are still standing and possible to visit. The rest of the terrain is empty, you can see where the rest of the barracks were before, but that's it. However the standing barracks are worth the visit, despite only 3 of them having their content (sleeping bunks, toilets, cells) more preserved.

Leisure park with animal enclosures & full size dinosaur models, plus adventure playground & rides.
It was an amazing experience. We highly recommend it. It's much bigger than in the pictures I've seen here. There are different parts of the park, Dino parc, animals, lake, kids playground.
The price is much cheaper than a zoo and are many many animals. I recommend... At least 5 hours.

nice park, especially for family
I would recommend it on weekends, buy the tickets from website (online), because the line of waiting very long. Difficult to find a parking for cars. You can eat inside the park if you grab something from home. I didn’t see a 300 animals that their website talked about.

A great place to spend a day with the kids. It's an interesting mix of a petting zoo, some wild animals, a theme park, play areas plus a dinosaur world. It shouldn't really make sense but it does. It's quite big so even when it's busy it still doesn't feel too overwhelming. My only minor complaint is the need to pay when exiting the parking as it can create a bit of a gridlock, they should just include the fee in the ticket.

Fantastic place. A true gem for kids and adults. Had great fun here. Not too expensive and easy to have a nice time here. The dinosaurs are a great attraction, but the best part are the deer which you can feed.

We visited while visiting family in Berlin. The park is huge and such a fun way to spend the day. You could spend a whole day here without the kids getting bored. There’s the Dino park, which is very large. Petting zoos with roaming deer, options to swim when the weather is nice, many different food options and much more we didn’t get to see.

Very nice park with animals, big dinosaur figures and carousels for kids almost of all ages. Brig coins since most rides are unlocked with 50 cents or 1€. There is also a wending machine für coins. The best food is too be found in the dinosaur area.

The park is very entertaining for kids. The area is pretty big and split in 3 big groups. The first, close to the entrance, is where you have a lot of recreation for kids, like playgrounds and some paid rides. Next there's two big circuits with animals, some that are running free and you can pet them. Finally, there the dinosaur area, with one big and wide circuit. Depending on your pace, you can complete everything in 2 or 3 hours. Overall the kids enjoyed very much and had fun while we were there.

Great park for families. We went with our 7-year-old, and he loved it. Animals to watch and feed, dinosaurs to learn about, and lots of space to just play. There are also some play areas which are fun.
On less star because of needing to pay extra for some of the attractions (bumper cars, etc).
Jana Romeo — Google review
Rather crowded on warm spring days. Rich Zoo with lots of domestic and exotic animals. Playgrounds are well equipped, kids have lots of spaces to get their rage out. The Dino area is fun if you're a fan. There are plenty of paid attractions inside, some of them are decent. Ponds and canals are nice too, you can have some beach time during summer. Huge lines for food and often at the entry before and during noon. You can bring your own food for a picnic, keep in mind that grilling is prohibited.
Artem Kovalyov — Google review
It’s a very good place to visit with kids. The park has different areas where kids can see nicely made life-like dinosaur replicas, a small zoo and farm animals. It also has different play areas for kids and a lake. Prices for food and rides are quite reasonable (not really expensive). Overall a very family-friendly park. You can spend between 3-4 hours, or longer if you wish, walking around.
Diana Vanegas — Google review
Interesting place to visit with kids! It's a bit far from Berlin center by public transit (SBahn, bus then 20-minute walk), but worth it for a day trip. The park is really big, with a zoo section, section with dinosaur statues, various playgrounds, coin-operated rides, an indoor play area, a lake for swimming (no lifeguards), and some restaurant options.
We went with two 3.5-year-olds and they had a great time. We were glad we brought our Bollerwagen to pull the kids around, but wooden wagons were also available to rent in the park for 5 EUR.
The entrance fee is very reasonable (7 EUR for adults, 3,50 for kids) but we found out that's because they try to upsell you EVERYWHERE. There are coin-operated rides all over, and every kiosk has a ton of cheap dinosaur toys for sale (left out in the open where kids can grab them, of course). But as long as your kids are pretty good about not asking for every little thing you can still have a good time. Some things are worth paying a little extra for, like the "water walking" ride where you go inside huge inflatable barrels and roll around on top of a pool of water. Not cheap (4 EUR per person for 5 minutes), but unique and a lot of fun.
The dino park section was well done, with still statues all around. They were life-size and made for impressive vistas. Playgrounds are interspersed around so the little ones can have something to do while enjoying the backdrop.
We stopped for lunch at the Asian kiosk nearest the entrance and wished we had waited, as the food quality was poor, and there were much better options further in near the zoo animals. Definitely go in further and find those.
We didn't see much of the zoo section because the girls were focused on the dinosaurs, but we did get to pet a very tame deer and saw owls, parrots, and snakes.
All in all we were glad we came once but don't feel the need to visit again.

Great price at entrance and parking. Good theme park!
It’s a large park with different entertainments. There are animals you get to pat and feed. A cafe with a lot of toys. Small trains and cars. It costs something little like 50 cents or 1 euro.
The entrance is quite good price at 6 euro.
Parking costs 1 only.
Food there is not expensive at all, quite fair price. Tastes pretty OK.
We enjoyed a lot and will definitely visit again.
Highly recommended!
Canny Chiang — Google review
We liked it!
They did a great job with the dinosaurs! There are so many! And the lake area with the prehistoric octopus and the slide seem really great.
There is no shade, so we will save it for a different visit on a less hot day.
The deer are other animals are able to roam freely which was nice to see.
The bird cage is too small for birds :( But so it is in most zoos and animal parks. It is just to nature.
They have a lot of parking, benches and enough restrooms and snacks. The snacks are typical of Berlin and similar places: sausages, French fries, ice cream, sugary drinks, etc.
So if you plan to be there the entire day, I suggest to bring a picnic.
Of course things could be improved. The number one thing would be to ban smoking on the grounds of the park. There are cigarette butts littering the grounds and beach areas in a lot of spots :(
It is a very large place with a diversity of fun things to do for the kids.
The museum is well laid out and presented.
Clear explanations, pictures & graphics on:
- the formation, duration and liberation of the camp.
- every aspect of life within the camp.
Entrance is free.
Well worth the visit.
Highly recommended.

Need to decide between seeing Sachsenhausen and Ravensbrück best go here. The female inmates witness stories and the building infrastructure left standing give a much deeper impression of all the horrors and inhumanities of concentration camp life in the period.
CCTV Cayak Crime TV — Google review
78 years go, after several months imprisoned in Ravensbrück, my grand-mother was delivered by the Red Army in April 1945. As a member of the French Resistance, she was denounced and deported to this concentration camp.
In January 1939, Himmler let build up the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Brandenburg, North of Berlin, the only camp for women. The first inmates - German and Austrian women - arrived in May 1939. Some 130,000 prisoners, mostly women but also men and children, were imprisoned in Ravensbrück.
In six years, Ravensbrück was transformed into a vast concentration camp complex, surrounded by satellites (kommandos) serving the German industry.
The inmates were forced to work more than twelve hours a day, punctuated by dawn and evening calls, to develop and maintain the site; they served as slave labor in the sewing workshops and electrical assembly industries such as Siemens and Halske, as well as in the arms industries such as Heinkel, BMW, Mercedes and Skoda.
Some were subjected to the medical experiments of Dr. Karl Gebhardt. Polish girls, nicknamed "rabbits" and political prisoners NN, Nacht und Nebel. They were subjected to sterilization experiments, muscle and bone transplants...
After such a "nerve-wracking experience", my grand-mother passed her grand-children the following message:
"There is no foreigner on this planet 🌍.
☮️ Peace can not be kept by force. Everyone shall contribute to achieve it by understanding"
What a heritage from such a woman 👩 who survived this part of History.

Nice Therme with 4 Saunas, a quiet area which I didn't like because it was rather uncomfy with cheap blankets and a bad smell. Beds were also not supporting relaxation in the lake sauna. The library relaxation area is a little nicer but too small. In the lake sauna, you probably always find a seat because it's huge, and you have a nice view over the lake with the possibility to walk directly into the lake after the sauna visit. Especially during winter, quiet refreshing. The other area with the Saunas was good. Here, you have a live infusion, whereas in the lake sauna, it's automatic.
There is also an ice area and two walk through showers for gold and hot water. The pools for my liking where all too cold and I didn't spend a minute in there.
Overall a nice experience but there is potential to make it even nicer and a little more comfy.

Overall very underwhelming. Kitchen closes at 7pm, food is very expensive and of low quality. The only thing that is enjoyable is the lake sauna. Rather go to Vabali in Berlin for an experience 10 times as good at the same price. Terrible lighting concept, no customer experience design.

Great idea to escape busy Berlin for a day and just relax. Easily reachable by public transportation, the train station is just 10 minutes away walking so don't be afraid to go without a car. This place is a great place to relax. You can reach the place quite easily with the train and a short walk. I s there during Easter and while it was running at full capacity, it still felt quite empty so that relaxing was actually possible. This is really a highlight since in the other options in Berlin like Vabali or Liquidrom you feel like sardines packed in a can. The employees are really friendly and try their best to make your stay pleasant. Food options in the Therme itself were very limited and overpriced, but options in the hotel annexed are okay. Overall, great experience.

The worst experience ever! The receptionist was rude and disrespectful. We only took 3 bathrobe sets but she entered 2 more into the bill without our consent. They refused to do anything when we asked for a correction, and fooled us to pay the whole amount by promising return the overpaid items to our bank account. The next day they changed their mind, said the only offer they can provide is two free sets for our next visit.
How can we still trust such a company who lied and even stole from customers? Of course we won’t visit again!
If you expect rudeness and arrogance, that would the a suitable place to go!

Lovely two rococo palaces from the 18th century, princess Louise and Frederike. Mostly destroyed in the war, restoration took place in earnest in 2005. Some ruined patches have been left to show how much love was invested in the buildings, the epitome of the epoch. Several pieces of fabric may be touched to see how wonderful the tapestry is. 5€ per adult, 10 - 18.00 daily.

Wismar Zoo, located on the outskirts of the Hanseatic city amidst the Mecklenburg hilly landscape, is a small park covering 17 hectares and home to about 50 species. It features bison, lemurs, fallow deer, and a petting zoo with farm animals. The zoo is run as a non-profit association and offers a great afternoon out for families.
Visited during the school break. Kids loved seeing and feeding the animals: cows, calves, goats. There were also emus, chickens, pigs. It was a joy to see the amazement on the faces of other visitors' toddlers.

Excellent experience! The kids enjoyed feeding deers and small goats, and the farm with animals to pet just made them super happy. We were there right after opening, all the animals were out and visible. Later they hid in their houses.

Lübecker Altstadt
Sights & Landmarks
Neighborhoods
Lively Innenstadt is Lübeck’s medieval old town, known for its courtyards, alleys, and squares lined with ornate gabled buildings. Among its many landmarks are the 1400s Holstentor gate, home to a city history museum, Gothic churches like the towering Marienkirche, and the 1286 Heiligen-Geist-Hospital. The Museum Harbor has historic sailing ships, while small specialist shops and German restaurants dot the area.
Lubeck's most important church, Marienkirche, is a beautiful Gothic structure that was rebuilt after almost being destroyed by the RAF during WWII. The intricate details of the brick-vaulted roof are what fascinate people, rather than the sheer size and height of the building.
Amazing interior. So high are the towers that they can almost touch the sky.
Munteanu Catalin — Google review
Amazing monumental church with a lot of other interesting things to see inside. I think it worth the price of admission (4 euro). It's a must see if you visit Lübeck and you are interested in history and architecture.

A monumental church with a few curiosities including a spectacular wall clock and a bell that’s fallen from the tower, crashed into the floor and left there for everyone to see. The height of the ceiling absolutely defies belief and gravity. Stunning setting during Christmas as the markets surround the church

Magnificently proportioned architecture with well-crafted brickwork.

Marienkirche is the third-largest church in Germany, and one of the five large Gothic brick churches in Lübeck. The interior is stunning and learning the history of it was so interesting. During an air raid, a lot of the church was destroyed but it's been beautifully restored. During my time at the church, they were restoring another facade as well. There is a reconstruction of the Danse Macabre, and also some beautiful reliefs of the Last Supper and some statues of Mary, Gabriel, etc. I'm a huge fan of Bach and I was delighted to read that Bach may have come to Marienkirche to play the now-destroyed Totentanzorgel (Danse Macabre organ). I believe they also have services in Marienkirche, although I went on a weekday so I'm not 100% positive. Based on signage, I would say so. I recommend stopping in to learn about the history of Lübeck and the church, or even to sit in on a service! I'm going to come back perhaps to see the other four churches.

Gothic evangelical church. Outside quite impressive but inside quite poor compared to Italian churches. Anyway a must see in in Lübek. Don't forget to give a look to the brass devil just outside the church and read his history.

Must visit when in Lübeck, very large scale church. The dance of death is very interesting and the broken bells are a reminder of how easily the historical treasures of Lübeck could easily have been destroyed

Beautiful historical piece, entry is 4 euro and worth visit

St. Mary's Church which was built between 1250 and 1350 is the third largest church in Germany. It and has always been a symbol of the power and prosperity of the old Hanseatic city. Entrance is ticketed, 4 eur per person but it is without doubt worth to enter and see its magnitude from every corner inside.

Out of 7 spires that dominate Lubeck skyline, two of them belong to St. Mary's Church.
The Church was built in a time frame of 100 years between 1260 and 1350, replacing the 1200's smaller Chapel.
Lubeck's St. Mary's is considered a cornerstone of German Gothic brick Churches.
It was built according to French Gothic Churches with outer supporting arches but with use of bricks instead of stone. Likewise, the interiors feature the world's tallest brick vaults.
St. Mary's suffered a total destruction in WWII, but was rebuilt shortly after the war.
Two huge bells which fell from the Tower during the bombing are kept in one of the Chapels inside.
TIP: You wont notice the St. Mary's sheer size from the ground as it's packed in downtown area. To appreciate it's size observe it from St. Peters tower which has the best city views.
The only reason I deduct one star is paying entrance fee of 4 Euros

Entry to this church is €4 and I recommend a visit, especially to see the exhibition about the Lübecker Totentanz (medieval dancebof death) and astronomical clock.

Solemn place of Christianity with 800 yrs of history. Gothic brick basillica is well preserved and have become a multi purpose venue for worship, concerts, and art exhibits.

Beautiful church. Entry is 4eur for adults, 2 for kids.
The organ is pretty, but the astronomical clock is truly amazing.
Stained glasses are worth checking out, and the ‘Totentanz’

This is a huge church but it's crammed into the streets nearby so it's difficult to get an idea of the scale. Inside the church is vast - apparently the largest brick built vault in the world. The interior is whitewashed and then decorated but in a very understated way. There are a few small chapels to the side, an interesting altarpiece (I think), a recreated astronomical clock and World War 1 memorial. Definitely worth a visit to see the wealth of the Hanseatic merchants.
Restored 1170 evangelical church with cafe offers stunning views of Lubeck. Church is a cultural space for concerts, lectures, art exhibitions and more.
The place from where is looking more pretty and you cane take a good photos <3

St. Peter's is right in the center of Lubeck and is one of the oldest Churches in the area dating back to 12c. After WWII devastations it was rebuilt, but seized with Church services, so you'll see a huge whitewashed interiors used for public and private events.
I highly recommend visiting its tower which for a reasonable fee offers fantastic 360' views of Lubeck. There's an elevator taking you up.
Dejan Braki — Google review
The highlight of the church is actually the viewing platform at the top. After some short stairs there is an elevator that takes you to the top for 5 eur. Highly recommend as it's the only tower in town that you can go up. Impressive city views. At the bottom is a small cafe with some light food, flavored salts and a small gift shop. Dogs not allowed. Highly recommend!

St. Peter's Church is most known because its viewing platform which offers the best view over Lübeck all the way to the Baltic Sea. This Roman church, once three-naved, was built between 1227 and 1250 and expanded in the 15th and 16th centuries to a five-naved Gothic hall church. It was destroyed during the Second World War, restoration work was only completed in 1987.
From outside is really beautiful, from inside almost nothing interesting. However it is worth to go up to viewing platform.
Paweł — Google review
The viewing platform on the tower is the main attraction, for us at least, at this church. Instead of glass there is a wide grille around the windows so it is a lot easier to take photos than some other attractions. There is a lift to the top - luckily - and the staff were both lovely and spoke excellent English. The church itself is heavily restored after WW2 and seems it has yet to find a new purpose. There was some sort of art exhibit inside but it wasn't really clear what it was about.

Lovely view of the whole city from the top of the church tower. Super clean toilet (free). Very inexpensive attraction: €5 per adult, free for under 17!

This church offers sweeping and unparalleled views of the glorious old city of Lübeck!
A short elevator ride takes you up the tower to an amazing 360 Panasonic viewing platform which allows you to capture the best photos of the surrounding area - glorious!

Amazing vistas of Lübeck. Ticket is 4 euro per adult. The church itself had an art exhibition which was OK, far from amazing.
Lucila Caranza — Google review
The church itself is empty - with the exception of temporary exhibitions but there weren’t any when I visited - but for 5 euros you can reach the church tower by lift for a view over Lübeck. The view was nice but not worth the price as you are up there for only a few minutes.
The Holstentor Museum in Lubeck is a historic gate which stands proud as a relic of the city's mercantile days. It is a popular tourist destination and houses displays about Lubecks medieval past. The gate is well-maintained and has an impressive effect, making it one of the highlights of any visit to Lubeck.
Beautiful town with beautiful people. A real pleasure to walk this streets of history, to eat at the riverside, to visit the museums and churches and take the lift up in the highest tower.

Beautiful medieval city gate. It’s interesting how the two towers are dissolved into the flat elevation on the inner city-facing side.

Holstein gates are the perfect solution for any garden or plot. Their stylish design and high quality workmanship make a great impression. They are strong, functional and durable. I am delighted with my Holstein Gate and would recommend it to anyone looking for an elegant and secure solution for their property.

Small but truly historical. This structure was completed in the 1400 and it's just amazing to be able to go inside and get a feel of how life was back then. It felt like being inside an old castle.
Somethings you only see in the movies. It was a great learning experience going here.

Imposing structure that you cannot miss walking into Lubeck's central square from the train station. Definitely built to denote strength and power and while it's sagging into its centre, looks like it'll still.be around 500 years from now. It's a paid museum now but just walking through the square and through its gate is an awesome experience.

The symbol of Lübeck, this medieval tor or gate has been restored and converted into a museum. What a magnificent sight is it when you see it for the first time while approaching from Bahnhofstrasse to Altstad. A must see.

The main sight in Lubeck, this gate a big focal point for entering the old city. Located right on the river too by some old brick buildings. Didn't go inside, just came for a picture. Highly recommend visiting.

Holstentor is the western gate of the fortified medieval city which was the capital of entire Hansaetic League of Baltic cities for centuries.
Dating back to 1464, it is considered one of the most beautiful medieval gates in all Germany, and for that reason was even on the back side of the old 50 DM banknote.
The gate is really stunning - fairy tale like and little bit leaned.
Inside is a small historic museum with models and history explanation and great gift shop. The outer face has gun openings for city protection, while the inner face is richly decorated. Perfect photo op both, day and night
Dejan Braki — Google review
I didn't go in to the building - not sure it was even open to be honest as both times I walked through there were no obvious signs. The building is one of the old city gates and the emblem of modern Lubeck. It is a very impressive, brick built fifteenth century fortification but now stands in isolation, the city walls having been removed in the nineteenth century.
There is an interesting contrast between the inside and outside walls of the building. The walls facing the city have lots of windows and are very ornate, the exterior walls have far fewer openings other than those for guns. There are also doubts over the accuracy of the early twentieth century restorations.

The primary attraction in Lubeck is this gate, serving as a prominent entry point to the old city. Positioned along the river and surrounded by historic brick buildings, strolling through these historical streets and dining by the riverside is truly enjoyable.

The Holsten Gate is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center Lübeck. It was built in 1464 and is the symbol of the city. The Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck's medieval city fortifications and one of two remaining city gates.

Another great historical site, the old gatehouse to Lübeck. A museum on site to visit here as well.
